Watching ACORN Get Chopped Down

October 2, 2009 by

Watching ACORN Get Chopped Down

There’s a wonderful German word, “schadenfreude,” which translates roughly as “taking pleasure in the misfortune of others.” Normally that would be a pretty petty thing to feel. But I’ve got to admit, I’ve been enjoying a lot of schadenfreude lately, as I witness the problems the Association for Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) has created for itself.

The radical agitators who run this so-called “association of community organizers” are finally being exposed as the criminals and swindlers they’ve always been. As a result, it looks almost certain that they will lose the billions of dollars in federal subsidies they were promised by their good friend and generous benefactor, Barack Hussein Obama.

First, the background. I know you’ve probably heard all of this before, but please bear with me while I repeat the story of ACORN’s support of a pimp, a prostitute and a child sex-slave ring. Seldom have I taken such pleasure in seeing some Marxist revolutionaries get their come-uppance.

ACORN’s exposure started when two independent filmmakers visited their offices in Brooklyn, N.Y., Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, Md. In each case, they posed as a pimp and a prostitute who wanted advice on how they could obtain a federal housing loan (they wanted their own brothel) and how they could avoid taxes on their ill-gotten gains (they planned to be extremely profitable, don’t you know).

And oh, by the way, they also planned to import 13-year-old girls from El Salvador and turn them into prostitutes. Did ACORN have any advice on how they could get away with all of this?

Time after time, ACORN officials were only too glad to help. And thanks to some hidden recording equipment, it was all caught on tape. As you might guess, Fox News had a field day with the footage.

ACORN reacted by claiming that the videos had been “doctored.” It also accused its critics of “racist coverage” and running a smear campaign. And oh, by the way, it also fired four of the employees who were caught on the incriminating videos.

Before you could say “oh my,” the Senate voted 83 to 7 to deny ACORN some $1.6 million in federal housing subsidies it was supposed to receive. And the U.S. Census Bureau announced that it was cancelling a contract it had with the community organizing group to assist in next year’s census. Let us hope this is just the first of many setbacks ACORN will receive, as its friends in Congress and the White House scurry for cover.

(Let me note in passing that the seven senators who voted against the measure included both leftist legislators from Illinois, Roland Burris and Dick Durbin; the outright socialist from Vermont, Bernie Sanders; and Hillary Clinton’s replacement from New York, Kirsten Gillebrand. Completing the sorry seven were Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, Pat Leahy of Vermont, and Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island. May their constituents vote to retire all of them at the next available opportunity.)

Yes, the publicity has hurt ACORN. But what’s really going to frost their petunias is what will happen next. ACORN was in line to receive a staggering $8.5 billion in stimulus funds from the Obama Administration. Color that money gone.

And the bad news for ACORN just keeps pouring in. Last month 11 ACORN workers in Florida were accused by prosecutors of falsifying information on 888 voter registration forms. The month before, ACORN’s former field director in Las Vegas agreed to testify against the group’s activities there. Las Vegas election officials say that up to 48 percent of the voter registration forms the group submitted were “clearly fraudulent.” Although it has barely been mentioned by the mainstream media, to date some 70 ACORN employees in 12 states have been convicted of voter-registration fraud. Expect those numbers to grow.

Earlier this summer, Rep. Darrell Issa, the ranking Republican on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released an 88-page staff report on ACORN’s activities. Here’s how that damning document began:

“The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) has repeatedly and deliberately engaged in systemic fraud. Both structurally and operationally, ACORN hides behind a paper wall of nonprofit corporate protections to conceal a criminal conspiracy on the part of its directors, to launder federal money in order to pursue a partisan political agenda and to manipulate the American public.”

The report goes on to note that “since 1994, more than $53 million in Federal funds have been pumped into ACORN, and under the Obama Administration, ACORN stands to receive a whopping $8.5 billion in stimulus funds.”

Not any more, I’m very happy to report.

Republicans in Congress are urging the Department of Housing and Urban Development to investigate ACORN. Nonsense! The agency that should be conducting an investigation is the Justice Department. ACORN is not merely a bunch of liberal do-gooders run amuck. They are criminal conspirators with a blatant disregard for the laws of this country.

Back in March, Rep. John Conyers, the liberal congressman from Michigan who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, recommended that a hearing be held on ACORN’s abuses. His suggestion was immediately shot down by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Conyers was later heard to mutter that “the powers that be decided against it.”

President Obama has already proven, in his cold-blooded dismissal of many former friends (remember Rev. Jeremiah Wright?), that he won’t hesitate to toss an ally under the bus if it becomes politically necessary. I’ll know we’ve won this battle when ACORN’s former attorney turns his back on these radical friends.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for this to happen. But don’t let your congressman give these professional agitators another dime of your money, either.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

Chip, thanks for getting this topic on the web site. Now that ACORNgate finally crawled out from under its rock [no thanks to the prostitute, mainstream media], I’m looking forward to the 2009 ‘the ends justify the means’ approach that will be used by those who sheepishly believe that everything and everyone must be protected at all costs (especially if it’s illegal, immoral, anti-American and offers us a utopian ‘change’).
For those who don’t know, this group had a certain lawyer as its main counsel for a while. That certain lawyer is now in the White House. While guilt-by-association is not a good way to pursue a legal topic, in this case it fits. Man, does it fit!
Like the old saying goes, ‘if the shoe fits, wear it.’ So, comrade obama, get used to liking this shoe. As for comrade obama’s diehard supporters, enjoy. You not only earned it, you’ve earned everything that goes with it. May it leave you with a taste in your mouths that lingers until your role models leave the country. It’s true what they say about payback. Man, is it time for payback. Bend over and smile, kookoids. Slurp that kook-aid.
Drink long and drink deep. Savor the flavor!

Obama has had an intimate and long-term association with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn), the largest radical group in America. If I told you Obama had close ties with MoveOn.org or Code Pink, you’d know what I was talking about. Acorn is at least as radical as these better-known groups, arguably more so. Yet because Acorn works locally, in carefully selected urban areas, its national profile is lower. Acorn likes it that way. And so, I’d wager, does Barack Obama.
Acorn is the key modern successor of the radical 1960’s “New Left,” with a “1960’s-bred agenda of anti-capitalism” to match.
Acorn’s tactics are famously “in your face.” Just think of Code Pink’s well-known operations (threatening to occupy congressional offices, interrupting the testimony of General David Petraeus) and you’ll get the idea. Acorn protesters have disrupted Federal Reserve hearings, but mostly deploy their aggressive tactics locally. Chicago is home to one of its strongest chapters, and Acorn has burst into a closed city council meeting there. Acorn protestors in Baltimore disrupted a bankers’ dinner and sent four busloads of profanity-screaming protestors against the mayor’s home, terrifying his wife and kids. Even a Baltimore city council member who generally supports Acorn said their intimidation tactics had crossed the line.

Well, Jeff, the repubs have their own little scandal maker, Nathan Sproul. Check him out, you will enjoy his history.

        • JeffH

He should be tossed in jail with all of the crooks. Just another political scumbag.

          • eyeswideopen

Jeff, they can’t throw him in jail, he is the biggest donor the Republicans have. He is their George Soros.

          • eyeswideopen

Jeff, incase I didn’t make my self clear, he is the biggest donor of votes for the Republican party.

          • JeffH

George Soros is anti-American, can’t you understand that, Anti-American…he hates everything that America stands for. To you, it will always be…a no brainer…you better hope he doesn’t reach his goal of total, socialism in America, because we will all lose then.
Do your research, as you like to say, and answer my question.
Is George Soros contributing an Anti-American?

          • JeffH

I am thouroghly convinced that you also are anti-American. You like ACORN and you like George Soros and most of all you like BHO!
            You are a friggin moron.

          • eyeswideopen

Jeffie, now sweetie, some people aren’t going to agree with you, That doesn’t make them morons. Surely you have read that I agreed with closing down Acorn, so you are acting like an emotional girl. Calm down, go talk to your buddy DAve, he will fix everything for you.

    • Ginger Lymbery

Hallejuah, there is a God. I wonder how many votes Obama got from the illegal voter registrations…Can we have another vote? I think that by now, there would be several million voters who now have “voter remorse” and would vote differently. We shoul have been in the streets rioting right after the election…like Afghanistan…we were cheated.

      • JeffH

Obama won the vote fair and square. You are right in the fact that there is a lot of “buyers remorse” in the direction Obama is heading us into. Most people didn’t look inside the man, they were schmoozed by his smooth talk. We are all finding out this guy can’t run a footrace any better than he can run a country. Other than bury the taxpayer deeper in debt and piss ‘em off with just about everything he does and insulate himself with a pack of left wing radicals that want to dismantle America and shape a “people run by the government”
government. Support every illegal alien and no-good bum with your and my tax dollars. Spread the wealth.
New changes will start to take place with the 2010 elections. Research you choices well and dump the incumbents. we need to rid this country of the likes of Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Feinstein, Boxer, Biden and all the cronies that want to tell you how you can live your life.

        • eyeswideopen

Damn, Jeff I didn’t see one Republican listed for you to get rid of!! I guess you are happy with those that were there during the Bush admin? Even those who are under investigation for ethic violations? Super!!! Hypocritical aren’t you? They voted for some of the worst things that have ever happened to this country and you don’t list a single one.

          • JeffH

These are some of the most evil scumbags in Americas forfront and they pose a tremendous threat to Americas freedom. Hypocritical? Not at all. Yea, as time goes on and I educate myself a little more, I’m sure I will expand my list. As it stands, these maggots pose a far greater threat to freedom in America as I know it.
The fact I am from California and see that Feinstein, Boxer and Pelosi have put themselves above their California constituents and the American people only adds to my distain for them. These 3 are every bit as evil in politics as anyone, Repulican or Democrat.

        • Emily

          Jeff I agree with you!!!!!!
If I were a betting person, I would bet that acorn gets off free and clear. obama and his cronies will see to that. I really believe they will find a way to do that. Their tentacles are so outreaching. It’s a shame obama can’t be investigated thoroughly. My guess is obama is more involved with such organizations as acorn, the appollo alliance, and the seiu than we coul ever imagine.

          • JeffH

Every day Obama opens his mouth, Americans on both sides of the fence begin to realise he is no more than a bag of wind. He speaks volumes, but says nothing. His days are numbered and his legacy will read just that. He will be the President that made an attempt to socialize America and failed miserably. Some things just can’t be changed.
For those that want to chime in on the Bush grinder, his legacy is also written, and it won’t be good either. At least he was an American first and protected American soil.

          • eyeswideopen

Jeff, Yes American first, to what, take us into a war with Iraq? How American is that? Hey, I have an Idea. Go ask John McCain where Bin Laden is hiding, during the election, he said, ” I know where he is, and I can capture him”. Why haven’t any of you asked where he is? We could get out of Afgan. if John, would help.

    • Dan

sc, I love your post. I hope there is some organization out there that will pursue Obama’s association with ACORN.

  • Leif Ljungh

So who is defending whos Liberty here? The Liberty of those who wants to limit the liberty of others or those who actually want everyone to have the liberty to do what does not interfere with others liberty?

    • http://BobLivingstonAlternativeMedicine Michelle

      Leif,
      What are trying to say?
      Michelle from Queens

    • JT54

      Leif,

Is this an example of left speak?…reminds me of newspeak…yes is has become a Brave New World out there. Sometimes people must draw the line and NOW is a wonderful time to do that. Starting with this criminal group ACORN and ending with ObaMao.

I wonder..is he really the President? Is he constitutionally able to serve? That has still not been shown to be the case. Why would someone spend over 1 and a quarter million dollars to hide facts that we are all entitled to (remembering that he was ACORNS attorney) if in fact there is nothing to hide?

Well, I say DOWN with ACORN! But if you take off the head of the snake the body dies.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Leif – Of course no one will admit that Acorn may have been set up.
Naw, there are no crooks in Washington.
Also no one will admit any of the good works Acorn has done for any citizen in the United States.
What we need to be doing is taking back our Government.
I’ve pulled up articles 33 and 34 of our Constitution and I intend to do all I can to get the greedy leeches out of Washington – STAT>
Recall them and let them join the un-employment lines they have created for our citizens here in America. If they don’t like it let em leave this once great nation.

      • American Citizen

All the good works ACORN does like forcing banks to give loans to people who can’t afford them, thus putting us in our current financial situation, or at least had a lot to do with it? Or going door to door registering people to vote and telling them who to vote for? Or trying to register false citizens such as Mickey Mouse? The Corruption starts at the top, the underlings do what they’re told.

        • eyeswideopen

American, the Repubs have one of their own, his name is Nathan Sproul. Look him up and then maybe admit, that both parties are sorry.

          • ccg

Eyes, you are right on this one. There are bad apples and bad seed in both parties. That is why we need term limits. These Reps. are tempted with the big bucks and they succumb to it. If we had term limits we might be able to control the honesty factor a lot better. OK, ok, a little better. LOL

    • DaveH

I think what Leif is trying to say is that prostitution should be legal. Whether you agree with that or not, it is currently a law.
The Liberals want to saddle the rest of us with a plethora of laws, but they want to pick and choose which to obey. And Leif, what do you say about the freedom of the ficticious 13-year olds which ACORN was willing to ignore?

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

        Dave
How about all the young girls and boys from Boys Town that almost everybody chooses to ignore. Larry King is still in prison – I hope.
All this happened under Bush Sr’s administration.
The reason I am aware of it is because a stepmother of a cousin of mine was sent to Boys Town because she did not want to raise him.

        • DaveH

          Dee,
Sorry Dee, but I am not familiar with that matter. I do believe in maximum freedom and would lower the age for adulthood if I had my way. I gave my daughter nearly complete autonomy when she was 16 with the only caveat being that she had to pay for her own mistakes. She made plenty of mistakes but she had nobody to rebel against so she learned from her mistakes quickly. Anybody who knew her then would marvel at the decent, hard-working citizen that she is now. I believe that is the same case for adults. I believe people behave their best when they are left free to make their own decisions about their own lives. That is why I embrace the Libertarian Party.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

            DaveH
It’s a shame our so called news media did not cover the facts that Larry King provided young boys and girls for the sick-o’s in the white house during Geo. Sr’s tenure. Makes one wonder just what was taking place at the time.
I have court documents that prove it happened because I was directly involved because of my cousin being where he was at the time.
Now for all the human beings that want to believe that Fauxx Noise is a reputable source for news and has a brainless lying crew to spew their garbage, I want to share a few facts with all. Some facts I’ve researched, some come from Leonard Pitts Jr, whose Commentary’s appear in many newspapers, and yes even Republican owned papers
As Mr Pitts said “There is a lot wrong with ACORN, and Fox was the only channel talking about it.” Like Pitts I might join this pity party if I believed Fox was a credible news source. I don’t because I personally have caught them in too many lies and twisted misinformation.
Consider just a few of the network’s and its host’ recent lowlights:

June 3:In a Bill O’Reilly column – he said he never called murdered abortion doctor George Tiller “a baby killer” Wrong or a lie? PolitiFact.com has documented 24 instances since just 2005, of O’Reilly referring to the doctor “Tiller the baby killer.”

June 10: Glenn Beck asks,”Why do we have automatic citizenship upon birth? We’re the only country in the world that has it.” Wrong or a lie? Canada has it, as well as 32 other nations.

June 18: Sean Hannity says that under the Cash For Clunkers program,
“all we’ve got to do is….go to a local junkyard, tow the juunker to our yards and we’re going to get $4,500.” Wrong or a lie? The program requires the car to be drivable and to have been registered for at least a year.

July 22: Beck said the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy “has proposed forcing abortions and putting sterilants in the drinking water to control population.” Wrong or a Lie? The claim is based on a textbook John Holderen co-authored in 1977 that analyzed and “rejected” such means of birth control. Sad thing is they never learn from past mistakes – namely “Penicillin” the wonder cure all drug. How many did it kill before it was replaced with another drug? They said – yea – it killed some but helped many more. Sorry Beck – one life lost is too many for the profit making pharmaceuticals who cares nothing for the population, only the $$$$$$ signs.

July 31:Kimberly Guilfoyle claims the government will get total access in perpetuity to the computer of any participant in the Cash For Clunkers program who signs up at the government Web site,cars.gov.
Wrong or lies? FactCheck.org reports this claim is based on a security notice required of “car dealers” who access a secure area of the web site.

Every news organization -CBS to CNN to Miami’s Herald to L.A.’s Time gets it wrong many times and every single report risks reflecting biases. A certain percentile of any Authors opinion is in every printed piece or spoken, be it political, racial, religious, class, educational, geographical, generational — of the reporters. As long as the news business is run by human beings, this will remain true. I resent that of any item I hear or read I must use common-sense and read between the lines or determine what they are not saying to get to the truth and meat of the subject.

But Fauxx Noise is in a class by itself. It’s epidemic inaccuracy, its ongoing disregard for basic journalistic standards of fairness, its demagogic appeals and its blatantly ideological promotions it is,
unique — a news source in name only. According to Mr. Pitts, that is not only an opinion: a 2003 study found Fox viewers more likely to be misinformed than those who get their news elsewhere.
Yet, because of this network that cries wolf, of birthers, terrorist fist bumps and tea party promotions, mainstream media should wear sackcloth and ashes for their failure to take it seriously. Mainstream reporters should seek more sources among conservative activists and bloggers. But Fox forfeited any expectation of being taken seriously by serious people since it has made itself an echo chamber less concerned with reporting news than affirming the ideological biases of its viewers.
When faced with a broken clock and being happy only twice in a 24 hour period – I choose to by a new clock and be able to know the correct time all 24 hours.
I will relate a thought I truly respect as well as the Author:
“If you don’t read the newspaper, (or watch TV) you are uniformed, if you do read the newspaper (or watch TV) you are misinformed.” – Mark Twain (In all respect to Mr Twain I added the TV since TV was not around during much of his life.)
I have listened to many young whelps put the older generation down and blame them with so many of the current problems – I have to come to the defense of our older generations – All you wet behind the ear spoiled brats that has been given too much too soon should appreciate the same ones who have supported this country from square one and made it possible for you to have everything your heart desires at others expense. Keep the faith tho – You will become our future leaders and we’ll be sitting on our clouds watching to see how you handle it.

          • libertytrain

TV was not around during much of his life? Mark Twain died in 1910?

“If you don’t read the newspaper, (or watch TV) you are uniformed, if you do read the newspaper (or watch TV) you are misinformed.” – Mark Twain (In all respect to Mr Twain I added the TV since TV was not around during much of his life.)”

I think though, he would have probably agreed with your statement, in quotes above, with regards to television, and perhaps he might have added the Internet. He was a clever soul.

          • DaveH

            Dee,
I looked up this webpage on Canadian citizenry:
            http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become-eligibility.asp#age

The citizenship must be applied for, thus not automatic. And one parent must either be a citizen or be applying for citizenship.

          • DaveH

            Dee,
Since you got the above wrong, does that make you a liar? I think not. As you said we are all fallible. I don’t swallow hook, line, and sinker what any human being says.
I have seen Obama telling what must be intentional untruths many times. And I know he is smart enough not to really believe what he is saying.
All any of us can do is listen, think, and come to the best conclusion we can based on our experience and knowledge.
One of the biggest problems we have is there is seemingly so much corruption in government. But as you say, they are just human. They don’t know any better how to run our lives than we do. The solution is to get them out of our personal lives. Their only function should be to protect us from force by the hands of others. That’s why I will only vote for Libertarians.

          • eyeswideopen

Dee, girl, I didn’t have the patience to do what you did. I know there are many, many, many more examples of the lies and mis-construing of the facts broadcast by Fox news, but it would take you forever to write it, and nobody on this site would read it anyway. I do want to thank you for putting forth the effort. You and I can’t compete with Murdoch’s money, and we are probably foolish to waste our emotions and time, trying to get any of these people to even entertain the idea that Obama hasn’t had the time to be able to cause the economy to almost collapse, took away our privacy rights, passed a medicare bill, with no funding and caused such hatred of us throughout the world. It is a miracle to retroactively have started both wars, but what the hell, he might as well get blamed for that too, what’s another lie? I just wish he hadn’t passed all those tax cuts as we sure could have used them for the soldiers. LOL.

        • JeffH

What I can find about all of this is cloudy and coverd up, but what sticks out is Craig J. Spence and a scheme to set up and blackmail higher level officials and Barney Franks involvement.

Not much is definitive except this link raises the conspiicy theory.
          (SENTENCE REMOVED FOR OFFENSIVE CONTENT)
…In which other prostitutes corroborate Gobies’ claims that Rep. Barney Frank knew of his use of the congressman’s apartment for use as a bordello. Gobie also claims that Craig Spence was one of his clients and had tried to recruit him to help “in a sordid scheme to blackmail the powerful politicians invited to his lavish parties.” Gobie claimed that Mr. Spence said to him, “Do you know what kind of power you can have over people if you’ve got something on them? . . . I need boys and girls for people in government and high-level businessmen for my parties, for individuals, for whatever comes up.”

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

Thank you DaveH – Now you’ve made me a little smarter.
However there are many ways one can circumvent the laws on the book. I got my information from friends who are born full blooded Canadian’s. As everyone knows, it almost takes a Lawyer to understand the laws that are supposed to control the masses. No law is ever removed from the books, just added to. As a result you can take any law and twist it to serve any goal you are trying to achieve.
I do appreciate your taking the time to look it up tho. If more were like you there would maybe be a chance for our country to overcome the problems facing her today.
I tape politicians running for office. I’ve got a couple of hundred tapes. When re-election time comes around I like to review my tapes to see who and how bad some have lied to the citizens. I then cast my vote accordingly. I also let the incompetent, lying incumbents know about their lies explaining why they will not get my vote.
But 2000 really upset me. When any group can discard any voters ballot and file it in a round file – then I fear Democracy is dead.
My daughter and her husband, who had been voting at the same precient
for years, having their vote challenged, was the icing on the cake. She absolutely could not get a guarantee her vote would be counted. In fact she was laughed at when trying to get a guarantee.
I live in a predominately Republican seat and I know for a fact that the wife of a politician was trying to buy votes for $100.00. Her daughter also has a handicapped child and the tax payers in our district supported her and her family, while her father allowed her to put in time and draw wages under the table at his business so she would have spending money. Politics is a nasty and dirty game for wanna-be rich fast at any ones expense except their own.
I worry about so very many of our citizens who allow others to do their thinking for them. I’m not the sharpest tack in the box and I have and will continue making mistakes. I am dummer than day old dirt but not completely stupid either.
Yes, libertytrain – TV has been around longer than the average individual may think possible. There are some who laughs at and consider us older folks daffy or square, but we’ve got a lot of miles under our feet and has made life much too easy for a lot of the younger generations.

Dave you are right prostitution is not legal, however Sen. Viter is still serving in the Congress, after admitting that he participated in the prostitution ring. Actually he has been involved with three different situations involving pay for sex. He thought since nothing has happened in two years, that he is scott free, but no, guess what, finally someone figured out that it is not good for a Senator to be breaking the law. He just had to open his big mouth and make a hypocrite of himself, which just drew attention to his little folly and now he is back in the lime lite of the ethics gang.

        • David

Wow so Barney Frank’s gay prostitution ring at his house was ok? Hmmmm

I think Ron Paul is a good American also.

Let’s investigate both sides the right and the left. I am so tired of hearing about one organization that got caught because of some low level employees. Does that mean the right is clean of all wrong doing. Let’s be fair and report on all corruption

      John,
What does “let’s investigate everyone” mean?
That is a trully an idiotic statement.
Who ever said that the Republicans are all “clean”?
Even if some republicans are corrupt (after all they are politicians!) that does not excuse sytematic fraud and attempted takeover of the commie minded left.

      • April

        Amen Michelle!
It is time to weed out the evil on both the left and the right. It’s time to go back to our roots and bring back to order the check and balance system our Fore-Fathers set up in the first place (exe, leg, jud). Also, we need to recognize the original purpose of the left wing and of the right wing. The left wing was put into place to come up with solutions that aide in disasters and help the needy; the right wing is there to ensure that enough resouces are reserved for such cases. Both have their good place in government. The problem lies in the right wing unable to say no to the left wing trying to solve everybodies problems (government getting too big in the process); and it became impossible for the right wing to reserve the means.

        • eyeswideopen

April, greed is why we have no resources, do you not get that? The rt tried to grow this government after it cut taxes to the tune of 1.8 trillion dollars. That might have been ok, except we started two wars at the same time with no funding available. To compound that jumbo mistake they then passed the Medicare Advantage bill to the additional tune of 600 trillion. I am sure you get the impact of trillions and no money to pay for it, as it is pretty loud in our ears now, with the offending party playing the denial song everyday. SO YES, IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE RT TO RESERVE ANY MONEY AS THEY WERE SPENDING IT TOO FAST.

          • sosted

How do you define excess greed? The top 1% is what makes the world turn.
Don’t be naive, most everyone is driven by a different level of greed and everyone has their own interpretation of what level is excessive. Even you!!
Who gets to decide what is excessive, those that have never even tried to achieved anything of significance and probably never will? Those that have never dealt with overbearing government regulations while trying to meet payroll? Those that have never created a job or paid taxes?
Is it fair for those that do not produce and are living off the blood, sweat and tears of others to decide what is a fair rate of taxes and what is considered an entitlement??

When the majority, mob rule, decides to cannibalize the system that creates the wealth, the end result will always be less not more.
Fact of Life!! You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!!

        • DaveH

          April,
This country was created by mostly Libertarian-minded leader who had direct experience with oppressive Big Government. The prosperity that is created by setting people free is the best way to achieve your goals. There are many people (maybe most) who when comfortable enjoy helping out others voluntarily.
We don’t need the indiscriminate forced charity that is created by Big Government. The current economic situation is a good example. I know people who have been on unemployment for a year now, and they are making almost no effort to seek work. All those wasted monetary resources could have been used to help people who really have severe handicaps or other such misfortune.
A free society would address those issues at a more local level where people could actually see where their dollars are going.

I sure wish you brainless and non thinking sheeple would stick with a daffy-nitions long enough to convince anyone you know of what you speak.

The right is certainly guilty by association.
Abortion is wrong but out and out murder of mankind is ok.
I also feel abortion as a means of birth control is out and out murder.
But it seems only the rich can afford to get abortions.

        • April

Michelle happens to be right. There are some commie minded lefties out there and if you would do your homework, assuming you have any brains-which you are proving that a stretch, you would understand that Acorn is run by commie minded left. That doesn’t mean she thinks everyone on the left is commie minded. Check out who is in office acting as President and who he surrounds himself with. Or do you follow the commie minded press like a brainless sheeple. Why do you defend the evil doers on one side instead of being constant? Both sides are morally out of whack, but you like to chose the worst of two evils to defend. PITIFUL!

I never thought I would see happiness and glee from citizens in this country when we lost a bid to highlight our country to the world. Yes it is very apparent that the Rt wingers are truly anti-American, you all need to contact Michelle Bachman and turn yourselves in, as she wanted an investigation of Congressmen to see who was Anti-American, and she will be very pleased to know that her own party qualifies.

          • ccg

Of course it doesn’t matter that Obama’s closest advisor Valerie Jarrett would stand to make a fortune off of this. The White House even waived her Ethics in order for her to be involved in this fiasco of getting the Olympics brought to Chicago.
This is going to cost a fortune for the City of Chicago, and for the people of the United States to benefit a few? Where is the good common sense in that? There isn’t any, especially when we have too many citizens without jobs.
Also, what about the million dollar fuel cost times two to take Michelle and Valerie Jarrett in one jet, and then the very next day to fly the President over in Air Force One. Yeah, we can really throw the money around for this type of nonesense, and then we just raise the taxes on all of these unemployed people. Sure, that makes a lot of sense.

Hello EWO, How long will it be before Jimmy Carter comes out to state that the IOC made their choice as a result of Obama being a black man?

I have to say, I giggled when I read this one.

          • DaveH

I enjoy the Olympics, as I like to see people working to become their best. But I don’t enjoy the politics of the games. It would be cool to see the best athletes in the world regardless of whether they are pro or amateur. And it would be cool to leave out all the bullcrap of which country they represent. I would much rather see them represent themselves.

There are those that would like to blame it on the joyous right or Republicans and those that will compare Bush’s trip to the games with Obamas’ lobbying effort to the IOC, but who believes the IOC just didn’t want Chicago for the games. The bigger question is, will Obama boycott the games, or will he take Michelle and Oprah with him to watch the games. That would qualify him for trip #2, one more than Bush. God forbid the right would dare to bash Obama then.

          • eyeswideopen

If Obama catches up with the vacation record of Bush, then you little people have something to complain about. Taking a month off after the first 6 months of being in office was a little much. However records show that he was on vacation 33.33 % of the time he was in office. So Obama has a lot of frequent flier miles to catch up with…lol. Why don’t you find out what brand of toilet paper he uses, so you can bash that too.

          • JeffH

Your “old news” defense of Obama is just becoming laughable. If someone made the comment that Obama peed green, your comeback would be: Bush peed green for 8 years, so Obama has a lot of peeing to do to catch up! You are a joke most of the time.

          • eyeswideopen

What’s the matter Jeff, does it get to you that every time you attack Obama for stupid things, the previous President usually has committed the same acts, only carrying them to the extreme? I only point them out to show you people that what you are so mad about, you overlooked in someone else. For God’s sake the man took away our privacy rights and nobody blinked. Hey, you can get used to the financial mess he caused, but how do you justify illegal wire tapping? That is on the same level as revoking guns. By the way, he did ok, loaded guns in Parks, so how is that taking away our guns? If his goal is to outlaw guns, wouldn’t it be stupid to let us carry in Federal Parks?
I am familiar with Dc v Heller, and when the NRA was against fighting for our rights is when stopped believing in them. They waffeled all over the place and then finally got on board at the end. They are now just another political machine.

    • Denese

      John,
You say “some low level employees”, and it kind of makes it sound innocuous. SOME low level employees were caught in California, New York, Las Vegas, Florida, etc. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg. Usually when the tree is really rotten it goes all the way to the roots, and I think that will probably be the case with ACORN. If there is another organization out there that has shown a pattern of behavior this corrupt I say let’s investigate it, Democrat or Republican. Until we find evidence against this other unknown group let’s investigate the one we know about and quit complaining that it’s somehow picking on a liberal group. It’s picking on a corrupt group, as it should be.

    • Willie Stoker

John, Is that the same as “watch this hand while the other hand is busy doing the dirty deeds”.

It’s best to investigate the criminals and leave the honest people alone, that is unless you want to create a diversion.

    • James

ACORN’s former field director in Las Vegas agreed to testify against the group’s activities there. Las Vegas election officials say that up to 48 percent of the voter registration forms the group submitted were “clearly fraudulent”.

How far up the ACORN ladder do you have to be before you’re no longer a “low level employee”???

    • Bob Bartoe

      John,
You have to realize that a bad republican is MUCH better than a good democrat. When a democrat follows his desires, someone else always suffers and mostly large groups. When the republican goofs up he hurts himself, not an entire segment of society! You can kid yourself, try to make yourself feel better by saying the right has bad guys too. None of the right is as bad as the left. They, the left, suffer to affect everyone with their wild, irrational nonsense.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Bob – don’t know where you are getting your info. Fauxx Noise probably.
When a Democrat is in office the main street citizens and the blue collar workers get a few crumbs
Who made Social Security possible? Now admit it – it was a Democrat President – namely FDR.
Who when in office is trying to bankrupt the SS network?
Who wants to privatize it or make it possible for illegals to draw with only 10 quarters invested instead of the 40 credits American citizens needs to be eligible?
If every Administration would return the surplus they have all taken and spent it on everything but what it was established for – the program would be one of the richest programs implemented by any administration.

        • Rog

Dee D, you have no idea what you are talking about. Have you ever looked at how much you and your employer pay into Social Security over a 50 year period? Just take a look at your annual statement and project it out. I paid into Social Security for over 50 years, started take my monthly benefit at 66 and it will take almost 20 years before I even get back what was contributed, meaning I will be 86, if I live that long. Now what about growth of an investment. Just think what it would be worth at a modest 5% growth rate. I would be getting 4 to 5 times the benefit at a minimum. Social Security is not an investment, it is a tax. I wish I had the option of investing half of it in other ways, just like a 401K, 403b, or IRA. In fact, my IRA’s give me a larger monthly pension than Social Security and I put much less into them, and over a much shorter time period. So how about thinking first before you mouth off and make rather stupid statements.

          Rog

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

            Rog
I do know of which I speak. I also worked and contributed, as well as my employer. Yes we will regain our investment.
The hue and cry is there will be nothing left for the baby boomers.
Every administration dips into the surplus and never a penny returned.
It was designed so the older blue collar and retiring workers who have supported this country from square one would have a little to bank on in their twilight years. For retirement. But each administration adds a few more groups of people to draw from it.
Under the Carter Administration citizens in three other countries started getting SS benefits. When a Democrat holds office another three countries start receiving checks from SS. When a Republican is in office citizens in five or six countries start receiving the benefits. Disability payments come from it. Medicare, medicade, widows and children also receives money from the fund.
It seems every Republican wants to destroy it all together or privatize it. WHY? Because a Democrat is responsible for such a successful program?

        • Don

Dee, You know nothing about SS. SS was in itself a single entity that collected money from employers AND workers. The government added NOTHING to the fund. In 1966 Pres. Johnson and the congress saw a HUGE sum of money BILLIONS in the SS Fund and by law could not touch it. BUT Ted Kennedy came to the floor with a bill to add the SS Fund to Health Education and Welfare and then the government could spend all the money on Viet Nam and they did and from that day on SS was broke

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

Don – You are correct in the fact that the Government contributes nothing into SS. However, they all dip into it to even keep the federal employees in Wash. running.
None of our elected reps. or public service employees contributes one red cent as they have our tax dollars to keep them going on a daily basis and they have their own retirement programs in place.
By public servants – Police – Firemen – Teachers – Custodians -Sheriff -State workers -Presidents – V. Presidents – Representatives and the list goes on and on. Our tax dollars also pay all the above salaries.
Just maybe if everyone had to contribute and draw from the program it could be very solvent and the greedy right would have a reason to want it to remain healthy instead of misappropriating every penny they can and trying to destroy it.

          • JeffH

Thurman Marcum…I can agree on the Bush/Cheney thing. We need out of the middle east because it is breaking Americas back. Our economical woes aren’t just caused by Bush/Cheney. It has been festering for decades because we have allowed government to waste our money freely. There is no party division when it comes to wasteful spending. That, my friend, is bi-partisanship at it’s finest.
The greater part of the stimulus money should be invested in Americas infrastructure and education and the security of our orders and our nation, and be used to create jobs, not “cash for clunkers” or “cash for appliances”.
Obama has his personal little agenda and the cost will not only be measured in dollars and cents, it will be measured by the freedoms we will lose.
Again, I submit that Obama’s ideals parralel those of the Anti-American Soros run Democratic party. The Democratic party has sold themselves to the devil himself!

      John,

There is so much corruption in Washington (both Republicans and Democrats). We need to weed it ALL out. ACORN may be a start. SEIU might also need to be investigated. And then there are the “Czars”. Without a vetting process we can’t be sure that these people are trustworthy either. If we are to take back our country, we must stand up, take a stand, and let our respectful voices be respectfully heard.

Let’s stop blaming others for the mess your warlord God’s got us into.

        • AnhydrousBob

          Dee D,
Only Congress can declare war and appropriate funds. Pelosi is in congress and voted at least once to FUND the wars – although I think she did vote no on the original vote to go to War.
My point is the President AND Congress are complicit, quit being partisan and letting your side off the hook, and blaming the other side for everything.
You suffer from cognitive dissonance. If you’re going to be an ideologue, at least have some principles to define your ideas instead of just calling opponents sheeple, and saying anyone who disagrees with you is drinking Kool-aid.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

AnhydrousBob – I must say if the shoe fits wear it.
Try reading a few of the earlier post to see just who and how many different people are name callers. I’m thinking you are capable of telling the difference in posted names, aren’t you?
The only thing that bothers me is how anyone can justify the killing, for any reason of any human being in any way shape or form.
I will not make excuses for any murdering class of people – riding a DONKEY or an ELEPHANT period. It is also not my place to place judge any of them. My God will do that .I do not want to be guilty by association as the right is so familiar with that punch line. In fact almost every accusation tossed and aimed at Obama are the very deeds the Cheney/Bush Institution has been guilty of committing. The Right wants Obama to fail and they have not got the good sense to realize if he fails – America fails. He’s damned if he does and he’s damned if he doesn’t.
When the voters were angry because of how Jr was put in office – we were un-patriotic. But that’s not the hue and cry from the Right now.
They pray he dies from brain cancer – They want him to fail. And yet they say they are not playing a race card. They can keep on fooling themselves but they are truly fooling no one else.

    • BOE

To Greg…”at least no one got killed” are you kidding me? Because Acorn was able to get Obama elected under fraud…WE are all going to be killed. He can not stomach killing the Taliban. and now he is going to allow Iran NUKE us along with N.Korea!!! The man is nothing more than smooth talking, strutting around like a peacock. Too arrogant to accept advice from top military. God help us.

    • JeffH

“that we know of”. Why do they advocate prostitution, including child prostitution and child trafficking and tax evasion?

  • Barbra Bronsberg

Every single state that had fraud in their election process by Acorn should now force a recount as they were getting their liberal democrats elected. Franken would be out as would many others.
Time to clean house and I hope in 2010 the people wake up enough to do just that.

    • http://BobLivingstonAlternativeMedicine Michelle

      Barbra Bronsberg,
      Great posts!
Get the commies and their allies out of the US Government!
      Michelle from Queens

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Right on Michelle – That would eliminate a lot from both parties.

    • Elaine

Absolutely! I’m quite interested… as I beleive that all the complaining about voter fraud in the last administration was fog so that we wouldn’t question the fraud that was being planned for this election. They could never prove any for eight years ..yet there has already been proof of it this year…ACORN!

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Elaine – I got really upset in 2000 when the courts put a President in office I did not vote for.
It angered me to realize my vote did not count.
Like to talk a little more on voter fraud? If so get your facts.

        • Palin12

Too bad Gore didn’t carry his own state of Tennessee in that election. He would have won the election outright.

        • DaveH

Well, I guess you have a problem if you don’t think the Supreme Court decided correctly. Too bad they aren’t as bright as you.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

Dave – When a court is stacked who says any of them has to be bright?

          • DaveH

            Dee,
The only way I can think of to change that situation is to put people in Congress and the Executive Branch who will appoint judges that truly do uphold the letter of the Constitution. If we as a nation don’t like the rules in the Constitution there are provisions set up to change it. Until that occurs, our politicians and judges should uphold the main law of the land.
I know of only one party that would work to achieve that. Do I need to name it?

        • eyeswideopen

          Dee,
you can count on every election in Florida to be won by the Republicans as they now own the voting machines in 65 of our 67 counties. ES&S, Diebold (who was just purchased by ES&S), and Sequoia controll 80% of the voting machines in America. Here are a few of the names who sit on the boards, Frank Carlucci, George Bush, Bill Owens.Hey you rt wingers don’t have to worry, all the next elections will be yours illegally of course, but you should be used to that. You are all hyped up about Acorn, but totally ignore the fact that one company will be controlling the votes? HA HA HA. I so can’t wait to see what color of brown shirts we will be wearing. You people are blind to anything happening that doesn’t give you the opportunity to attack Obama.

        • ccg

Its too bad you got so upset. Poor poor you. At least a man got put in office. Now we are faced with a naive, egotistical pathetic man that is ashamed of the United States.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

ccg – I would be interested in your definition of a man.
Are you referring to a male who is a member of the Skull and Bones cult?
Who college hopped to avoid having to fight for the country he cherished so much? It is true – he was AWOL and disobeyed a direct order to be tested for drugs.
Wanna learn something? Do some research on the Skull and Bones and learn some of the dastardly deeds the members must commit so each can hold things over each others head to insure secrecy.
Do any of you know Kerry is a distant relative of Bush? Did you know he also is a member of Skull and Bones?

    • John S

      I agree!

    • eyeswideopen

OMG, maybe we can recall bush, and pretend that the last 8 years didn’t happen. I’m sure there was voter fraud here in Fl. LOL

      • ccg

Yes, the voter fraud was perpetrated by Gore.

  • Barbra Bronsberg

Every single state that had fraud in their election process by Acorn should now force a recount as they were getting their liberal democrats elected. Franken would be out as would many others.
Time to clean house and I hope in 2010 the people wake up enough to do just that.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Barbra – Be careful what you ask for. If we went all the way back to 2000 on voter fraud – just maybe we would not have been hung out to dry and all that has come down the pike would never have happened.

      • DaveH

You know Dee, maybe you have a point. If Al Gore had been declared president in 2000, this country’s citizens would have been woke up 8 years earlier to the dangers of Big Government.
Big Government is the problem, not the solution.

        • http://Yahoo Dee D

I agree with you 100% on the big Government. Wonder just what it would take for all citizens to get back their control. We are the Government and we’ve hung ourselves out to dry because we allow the crooks to continue picking our bones clean.

        • eyeswideopen

DaveH, Jeff is always on me for siting the Repubs for everything, but I notice you constantly keep saying Big Government, Big Government. Yet he never calls you out, he may be leaning towards the Libertarian party, you probably should hop on that quickly. Good Luck, lol

          • JeffH

Big government includes Democrats and Republican, and I happen to agree with him a little more than I do you.

          • DaveH

I do that on purpose Eyes. I know, I am nagging, but I think if people see that phrase often enough they may start thinking a little harder about what is going on.
Have you noticed that as the government grows larger, the amount of dissatisfaction amongst the citizens grows? This is because one size does not fit all. As you can see from the various comments on this board, we all have different wants and needs. The best way we can pursue peace is to allow people to make their own choices about their own lives. Sure, there will be plenty of bad choices made (I make them often), but they will have nobody to blame but themselves.
One result would be to diminish a lot of angry adult rebelliousness. Another would be far less taxes thus more contented consumers. I encourage you all to look into the many benefits offered by the kind of freedoms which the Libertarian Party offers.

  • Julie

Here, here, Greg…get the Blackwater types and the Foreign troops and mercs out of our land…ACORN, really? First the UAW was smashed, and now, the only people’s “union” out there that fights for the little guys and not the wall street suits is being treated like the mafia. Way to go redstate

        • DaveH

Julie is just another indoctrinated student from the public school system. Instead of hoping and dreaming behind those green-colored glasses Julie, you should be working to lessen government regulation and educating your ilk to the prosperity that is created by Free Markets.

          • Dan

            DaveH:

Your comments make the most sense and it appears that others have your same views but just expressed in a different way. I and I’m sure many other Americans agree we need less government regulation and that we must root out and vote out corruption. And folks, it doesn’t matter whether its a democrat or republican, left or right, black, white or whatever nationality. Lets not point fingers at past corruption in an attempt to justify the actions of those in the present.
Dave, I believe most Americans would agree with you but wonder if we can make a difference because I don’t see an organization or group that is strong enough to make a difference. I think for the most part the Democrats and the Republicans are too corrupt to make any good decisions. I feel “we the people” need to be more organized in order to get rid of the corrupt and vote in those we feel would serve our Country better.

          • JeffH

Dan, thanks, you are spot on.

          • Bob Bartoe

Elaine, you are right! There is so much secrecy that Soetoro stole the office and is hiding all evidence to prove that. People say I am Rushified (thank you, I am flattered!) but try to find any information about his past. He doesnt exist. He is ineligible, he is a fraud and, oh yes, he is a TRAITOR to the people of the United States. He must be removed from office and placed in an 8×12 cell, somewhere in the dark!!!!!!

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

Bob Bar – Bush appointed more convicted criminals to administration positions than any other president.
He has had the fewest press conferences than any president since the advent of TV. Why? Did he have a communication problem?
He signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than any other president.
He cut health care benefits for war veterans.
He made his presidency the most secretive and unaccountable of any in U. S. history.
Members of his cabinet are the richest of any administration in U. S. history. (The poorest multimillionaire, Condoleeza Rice – she has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.)

Julie… We bailed out the UAW… As far as ACORN goes, I hope they lose so much federal support that they are disbanded. How many more charges have to be brought against this group before you quit being their cheerleader? They are corrupt. And I am willing to bet all the way to the top!

      • DaveH

        Robin,
Unfortunately they will just regroup under a new name. But at least it’s a start.

      • Michael J.

Robin, there exists between Obama, Acorn and SEIU a putred vile symbiosis that would make a billy goat puke. All this and more shall soon be revealed. The videos showed that the same techniques are used by Acorn associates in all four corners of the country. This proves that the problem is systemic and not just a few bad employees. It proves that associates are trained in this manner. And guess who trained the trainors? That’s right, the annointed one himself.

        • JeffH

You have hit the nail on the proverbial head! A very strong and documented relationship exists, and includes the Tides link with Michelle O. The path of this White House is crystal clear.

  • LAS

Not quite sure how anyone could find their many actions (not just a few) defensible. Rather than try to turn the tide to Blackwater, we should continue on with investigation SEIU. I never understood the necessity of a government agency giving money to a non-government agency to disperse for them as a government under the guise of a giveaway program?

    • eyeswideopen

Las, you are rt on track, these companies are guilty of fraud: Lockheed Martin, KBR, Blackwater, Amour, Northrup Grumman, and the list goes on and on. The big difference is, that they defrauded us of billions. Some of them were implicated in sexual scandals, such as prostitution, some just killed our soldiers by electrocuting them. There are about 200 or so companies who receive government funding who keep defrauding the government and just pay fines and then go on to defraud again. ACORN is a start, but it is really a small timer. It only receives about a million a year in funding, and actually doesn’t actually handle the final paperwork for a valid voter designation.

      • Elaine

Yeah! Now we’re being screwed out of TRILLIONS yippie go obots go!

        • http://Yahoo Dee D

Elaine – besides being screwed out of trillons – look at the thousands of American troops and Iraqi men, women and innocent children lives. Saying nothing about the thousands that have been butchered and maimed bu the powers that be in Washington.
How many American citizens are guilty by association like they try to charge Obama with when he was a young child.

          • ccg

Only those who DON’T know what they are talking about always say all of those innocent women and children I Iraq getting killed.
My dh was hugged by the Iraqi’s and they said “Thank you, thank you America”. The ones killing the innocent women and children were the terrorists. A few innocents did get hurt by the military, but not the great amount that you and the rest of the libs claim. You always use the same song and dance. Find out the truth.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

ccg – The killing started on American soil on 9/11 and grew into many thousands more through invasion of an innocent nation.
Can anyone answer this question ?? What was Bin Laudin’s family members doing in America that the Cheney administration flew out of here in the early morning hours on our Government planes on 9/12? Why were they here in the first place? Who was wining and dining them in the first place? Got any answers for us?

  • Kathy

I am also enjoying seeing this group brought to justice. This is not corruption of low level employees; this is corruption that spans the entire left on up to the President of the United States! This group knowingly committed election fraud that influenced several local and national primaries and elections. Knowingly!

The Republican party seems to want to root out Conservatism in their party — rather, they need to recognize the evil on the other side and take action to block it. They will do lie, cheat and steal to gain and maintain power over the American people. Republican primaries in all states need to change their rules to restrict primary voting to registered Republicans only. Between ACORN and crossover voting in states that allow voting in whichever primary you choose to vote in, we ended up with McCain as our candidate. We can’t afford to have that happen again.

    • http://BobLivingstonAlternativeMedicine Michelle

      Hi Kathy,

It’s true McCain is a democrat, but at least he loves his country and does not bow to the Saudi king.
Obama is totally anti-American, everyone of his actions very clearly point to that. Only the leftist idiots do not see it.
Frankly, given the 2 choices, foreigner (WORD REMOVED FOR OFFENSIVE CONTENT) Obama and patriot McCain, how can any American vote for the Bamster?

      Kathy,
the repubs are in lots of trouble as your next canidate for the presidency will be “I QUIT PALIN”. The train left the station, with her running behind it yelling, “Death Panels” you betcha ya, I know there are here somewhere, I read it in the Moose gasette!

      • DaveH

Eyes, Have you read all 1000+ pages of the Health Care Bill? Of course, the government wouldn’t call them ‘Death Panels’. In case you haven’t figured it out that is a euphemism.

        • eyeswideopen

Dave, in case you haven’t figured it out, it is nothing but tactics using fear to scare the elderly and the un-informed. I guess you want no reform? The status quo is good for you? Let’s just waste that money, by subsidizing private companies… Oh, sorry I forgot, you are Pro business, no controls on anything, yahoo, let’s just run wild and see what happens.. oops, I can see what happened after we ran wild for 10 yrs. By the way, I am reading Paul Krugman, a noble prize winner in economics instead of that rt wing republican you recommended who was so biased that I couldn’t stop laughing.

          • DaveH

            Eyes,
Are you talking about Thomas Sowell? Are you being racist?
Give me a break. You say I am being repetitive about Big Government but then you force me to repeat myself. I am not pro-business (or against it), I am pro-freedom, and business owners are people too. Voluntary contracts are what I am for.
You may disagree with Thomas Sowell but if you laugh at him, I can only assume you need more education. He is one of the most brilliant economists that are still alive. You would expect nothing less from your neighbor than the right to live your own life. Please give the business owners that same respect.
I don’t know anything about Paul Krugman, but I have studied economics from various publications (including Reason magazine) most of my life. It was due to my investment prowess that I have any assets at all. I would have been in the poor house years ago due to my illness if I hadn’t invested my money wisely. I have worked only 25 years out of the last 35 years. Yes, I have made plenty of mistakes, but I make an effort to learn from them.

          • DaveH

Tell me some things he said that you found laughable. Give me a chance to enlighten you.

          • eyeswideopen

No, Dave it was the other Republican economic grurue Sp? that you told me to read.

      • Thurman Marcum

        Eyes,

        You mean the manure section.

    • ccg

Not only that but all of the primaries should be on the same day. Not every state got to vote for the person they wanted to run for President in the primaries. In some states it was all over before they even voted. McCain was decided on way before the primaries were over which only gave a few of the people the opportunity of voting for their choice.

  • Jen

If congress gives them 1 more penny, Of the tax payers monies and doesnt FREEZE their funds NOW!!! Like they would any of us, then Wake up America you have been had!

Anyone, whether republican or democrat that defrauds the people should be charged and punished. There is no excuse for stealing and lying. This administration has been by far the worse, nothing they say has an once of truth in it. And by the way, Freddie and Fannie was supported by the democrats, and queen Pelosi refused to address the corruption…Guess who was behind that? ACORN

      • eyeswideopen

Julie, that word doesn’t even cover the mentality of these folks which is just beyond comprehension.

  • Earl

Acorn is the most corrupt organization in the US today. They are worse than the mafia. They are registered as a 501c3 organization and should be non-political but they spend our tax money to promote a partisan political agenda. IRS should immediately revoke their tax exempt status. Their fraudulent voter registration in Minnesota along allowed that freakin imecile Al Franken to steal that election. Did you see that idiot at the Sotomayor hearings? Greg. you need to get a life and regurgitate all the kool aid you have been drinking. If you want a socialist/communist country without any freedoms at all then please move to Venezuela/Cuba.

    • DaveH

      Earl,
Don’t you know that the laws don’t apply to the Left, even though they are responsible for most of them?

  • Sandie

Both LEFT and Right are soooooo corrupt! They all have to go… ACORN is just one of many and they will surface again under another name. People just do not get it, DC and the idiots do not care about us and they don’t listen, yet we are dumb enough to keep putting the same garbage in year after year! Term limits should apply to the Senate and Congress as well.. If we even survive to another election for president… They are all career politicians riding on our backs and just listening to the lobbyists. If we all stood together, the lobbyists wouldn’t compare to what WTO could and can do… Hopefully more will wake up! Thanks for a good article..

The Democrats were screaming for campaign finance reform to prevent the rich from dominating our politics – but they now have rejected all such reform and instead sold itself to a single eccentric billionaire whose anti-American views resemble those of France?
Perhaps the Democrats should end the pretense and just rename themselves George Soros’ Party. Or the Democratic Party and its candidates can reassert their integrity by denouncing George Soros and refusing to take or benefit from this oddball’s money

          • eyeswideopen

poor Jeff, you can’t admit that the repubs have their own multi billionaire?? Whose net worth is more than the measley 11 billion of Soros, his is 26.3 billion. Denial is such a soothing thing.

          • JeffH

No denial here. I guess you can justify that fact even though Soros has made it his lifes goal to destroy America and our freedom in the interest of his socialistic agendas. Those agendas can be summarized as follows: promoting the view that America is institutionally an oppressive nation, opposing virtually all post-9/11 national security measures enacted by U.S. government, particularly the Patriot Act,promoting open borders, mass immigration, and a watering down of current immigration laws, promoting open borders, mass immigration, and a watering down of current immigration laws, promoting a dramatic expansion of social welfare programs funded by ever-escalating taxes,
promoting social welfare benefits and amnesty for illegal aliens,
defending the civil rights and liberties of suspected anti-American terrorists and their abetters, advocating stricter gun-control measures. The list goes on.
            http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=977

But that obviously doesn’t change anything for you because you are so concerned about what the Republicans have done wrong that you refuse to acknowledge the obvious.

I guess you just hate freedom!

          • eyeswideopen

Jeff, denial, denial, denial…. our rich son of a B is just as dirty as theirs is. They both are controlling this country. Ours just happens to be a little richer than theirs.

        • http://Yahoo Dee D

Yea Maria – Prison terms for any and all of our reps. who violate our Constitution or any of them that try to re-write it – or for any of them who stuff their pockets at the expense of the people they are supposed to be representing.

    • Mary Lou

Have you all sent your “pink slips” to Congress? Everyone who has had more than two terms needs to be replaced in 2010!!

      • eyeswideopen

        Mary Lou, I’m with you!!!

      • DaveH

Unfortunately, the Congressmen have managed to give themselves generous retirement benefits even when they only serve a short time. So we need to put people in there who will work to eliminate those generous benefits as well as cut government spending dramatically. The only party I know that is up to that task is the Libertarian Party:
        http://libertarianparty.org/platform

        • ccg

Plus, they will not have to participate in the Health Care Plan that they will force the people to use.

    • Willie Stoker

I totally agree about the term limits.

There should be term limits, and all the perks should be taken away, they should have no retirement, and they should pay into social security and medicare like the rest of us, and not have a special medical insurance program.
We have politicians in congress that have never had a real job in their life and have become millionaires while in office.

It’s time to totally replace the congress, get every one of them out of office and replace them with patriots.

      • James

I agree with Willie. Term limits are not enough. They must be subject to the same policies as we.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

I agree with term limits and I’d like to stop them from voting themselves pay raises.
While Jr wasted the surplus Clinton left him and was selling us out to China and was running the deficit through the roof the controlling members (Republicans) of the House – Senate and Congress was taking their share in sums of 2,000 – 3,000 and 4,000 dollar increments.
One more very important item …………………………………….
Anyone praying and wishing Obama to be a failure has not got the good sense to see if Obama fails – AMERICA fails also.

    • DaveH

      Sandie,
That would be a good start, but I think we need to go deeper than that and quit sending anyone to D.C. who hasn’t promised to cut the Federal Government dramatically.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Yes Dave – You are correct – But do you not remember they will promise you anything for your vote. After they are in they forget any promise made to the voters. Voters also have very short memories – they keep right on putting the same scum bags in office.

        • DaveH

That’s true Dee, but all we can do is research their past actions, and listen to their words and make our best choice. Above all, if they don’t have a damn good excuse for breaking their campaign promises we need to throw them out on the following election.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

DaveH – How can we research past actions when records are sealed away from public scrutiny and if anyone dares to uncover a truth and reveals it to the public, they are fired?

  • Leda Cook

Chip: Thanks for staying on top of this, and spicing it up as more and more charges come upon ACORN! It’s high time that this Group, who was instrumental in the “financial crisis” with the manipulation of Clinton and Banks, implementing (manipulating) loans to those who clearly did not qualify! Without ACORN’s pushing, prodding, threatening and government financing to sue banks, lawyers and the Government, we wouldn’t be in the mess we are in! We also owe Jimmy Carter the finger for opening this door!

I look forward to reaching the top of this corrupt organization, and then, you need to turn your sites to OFA, a carbon copy of ACORN!

    • http://BobLivingstonAlternativeMedicine Michelle

Hi Leds Cook, great post. Can you give more info on OFA?
      Michelle from Queens

    • Jen

      Leda I agree,

Acorn group will have to find another civil attorney to represent them out of this one now, since the president no longer can be their Attorney, at least not up front. After all Barrack Obama was Acorns civil attorney and community organizer for years.

    • DaveH

      Right on Leda.

  • SONNY

LET’S NOT FORGET ABOUT THE”SEIU”. ACORN IS JUST THE TOP OF THE COOKING POT. WE MUST STIR THE POT MORE AND FIND THOSE OTHER INGREDIENT’S THAT WILL LEAVE A BAD TASTE IN OUR COUNTRY.FIND THEM AND REMOVE THEM BEFOR IT ,BOIL’S OVER.

Well yes.. ther’re at the top but the peak is Soros..He has been working on the downfall of America for many many years and all of these entities are connected to him in one way or another.

        • eyeswideopen

And the American people voted for a candidate who Sheldon Adelson ruled by proxy for 8 years. And the difference is????

  • Frank Spence

Whilst I am pleased that ACORN has been exposed in all of this, and delighted that they will no longer be getting Federal Funding I have an even greater concern. In 2001 when we had the fiasco of Democrats screaming about hanging chads and stolen elections they wanted a Federal Investigation and went to court. In 2008 – SILENCE.

ACORN has been indicted in 15 states for voter registration fraud, and may be indicted in actual voter fraud. An indication of what may be going on is the election of Sen Franken, he started with a deficit of over a thousand and ended up winning by a margin of 351. To my mind this is highly suspicious. It also causes me some concern as to the validity of President Obama’s election, we already know that there were dead people as well as Mickey Mouse registered in some areas, and that over 400,000 registrations were rejected out of the 1.4 million plus that were queried.

Surely a full Federal investigation is warranted, though with A G Holder busy persecuting those who have kept America safe and ignoring the voter intimidation by New Black Panthers in Philadelphia I amnot holding my breath.

    • http://BobLivingstonAlternativeMedicine Michelle

Frank Spence, Maybe we should open an investigation on Holder as well.
He is definetely one of the them!

      • Jen

        oh Yea!!!

      • s c

Michelle, investigating most of this half-@$$#^ administration is our duty. Good luck in getting someone like Don to admit – or remember – that holder helped bubba clinton free puerto rican terrorists (what lofty standards some people have!).
It needs to be said that no one should be above the law. At the same time, it needs to be said that even if ultralibs manage to find some common sense, they’ll find it anything but easy to get rid of their in-house role models. It takes more than seeing through people to get rid of them. For the benefit of Don, many of us saw through GB, but that didn’t give us any easy or quick ways to kick his posterior out of the White House.
This, like so many other topics, is N O T about party politics! This is a battle of right vs. wrong.

        • eyeswideopen

S.C. I was so glad to see yu say that nobody is above the law. Does that mean we can now investigate Dick Cheney?

      • eyeswideopen

Michell, anyone who isn’t one of you, is “one of them”. Maybe you will get your wish and only have one party, one religion, one leader. Do you know what that is called??

    • eyeswideopen

Frank, He won by too big of a margin for it to be fixed. Acorn is not that sophisticated nor well run that they could pull off a coup like that. Hell, they can’t even cover up a little corruption. You are giving them too much credit. By the way, the federal funds were only a million a year. They received funds from a private group called Democracy Alliance.

  • Earl

Julie. Don;t know where you are from, Lady, but I really like your approach to this situation. Keep on posting and try to web site http://www.nolefturn.com. Really great family there and very great articles.

  • Don Borham

Acorn was destroyed because it was a threat to right wing politics. The stupid actions of some low level staff is used as fodder to destroy an organization. A story driven by Fox News for people with no informed views. Acorn’s corruption is small compared to the corruption of the Bush contractors. No one at Acorn has shot people with armor piercing ammo in the name of Jesus. The fake outrage of the right is so sad.

    • Julie

Yes, yes…you others need to get off your fat behinds sitting in front of FOX news and get a little more balance in your empty heads…

      http://www.bradblog.com/?p=7402

      • Maria

Don and Julie, are you guys for real? How can you dismiss what these thugs have done? Bush is not our president anymore remember? didn’t Obama promise change, no hobbyists in his white house, transparency government, what happened to those empty promises? The people voted for another corrupt Teflon politician. You are telling us not to watch Fox but yet you drink the kool-aid with CNN, MSNBC and other stations that don’t report the news, they lied about everything Obama stood for and never investigated his background. If we knew what we know about Obama then, he would not be our president. The man is attached to so many corrupt individuals that it’s quite disturbing. His actions show he knows nothing about leading our country, going on a trip to promote the Olympics rather than addressing the problems this country is having proves that he is not a leader, he is just a community organizer. He needs to stand for something and he stands for nothing except what the left is telling him.

        • DaveH

Good reply Maria. Don and Julie can only debate with name-calling and ridicule because they have no valid facts to win the debate.

      • James

        Don & Julie:

With all due respect, how can you possibly defend this type of activity? By dismissing it as minor compared to some activity in the past? We can’t fix the past, only learn from it. But we can damn sure fix what’s going on now … and we’d better get started.

For the record, I’m in my 40′s, run a 52-year-old small business with 54 employees, and am a conservative who has voted both Democratic and Republican. Vast information is available to anyone willing to take the time and do the research that illuminates what’s actually happening in Washington and around the world. What is reported on network TV is mainly propaganda. And, no, I don’t sit around and watch FOX News.

I prefer to do my own research and form my own opinions rather than believe what’s being force fed to the masses by the talking heads (we no longer have reporters) on network TV. We’re a nation of weak minds and weaker convictions.

I encourage you guys to open up your minds and expand your own thinking. But that’s very hard to do when you’re more concerned with defending your opinions than observing what’s actually going on around you. Remember, two diametrically opposing positions are not both correct. One side will be proven wrong, despite all of the passionate and well-meaning support for that side.

Quit listening to the propaganda and observe actions, activities, results and consequences. Illegal, unethical and/or immoral behavior should NEVER be tolerated REGARDLESS of what happened in the past. Let’s clean up these messes starting TODAY, looking forward not backward.

Major screw up for Acorn, however it doesn’t matter that they lost the 1 million dollar funding from the feds, as they get 50-80 million from private investors and don’t need the little bit that we give them. Let these rt winger enjoy what their small minds perceive as a win, it gives them so much pleasure. We need to concetrate on the bigger fish, like Blackwater, Amour, Northrup Grumman, Lockheed Martin. Thanks, working on project for friend.

Gee, I guess the fact that they give out information on how to skirt the government on taxes, how to set up legal business scam to exlpoit underage girls for prostitution or just plain offering to get involved in child trafficking. I can see why you don’t have a problem with them just by your comments. You probably think Charles Manson got a bad rap and that Polanski’s drugging and sodomizing a 13 year old was OK because it was consentual.

          • eyeswideopen

OMG, Jeff, did you watch the video? Those people were uneducated, idiots who were too stupid to understand they were being set up, or trying to act like big shots. If you really think they have a trade route through Mexico, I will pay you to go and investigate. The group of minons couldn’t find their way out of a paper bag. With such big mouths I doubt they could have gotten a sex ring going in the same city. Don’t be so naive. I know you want to jump all over it, but really you should be researching Sibel Edmonds. she is going to blow the top right off the roof. You will be hearing alot about these people, Tom Lantos, Marc Grossman, James Baker, Brent Scowcroft, Jean Schmidt, Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, The New York times, Northrup Grumman, Rand Corp, and yes even Bob Livingston. Hopefully Holder will investigate this issue and we will see some jail time for those that are guilty.

          • JeffH

You are a complete, unadulterated fool eyes. You really elieve ACORN is just a small fish in a big pond! Just like the Democrats and Obama always try to divert the focus, you always look to change the focus of this discussion. You have and always will!

    Hello Lief,
No more battering, back and forth, just answer this. Why did a company, named Acorn, get 53 million in taxpayers money over the last 25 years and currently Obama administration give them a 1700% increase this year in the STIMULUS package If they were an honest company this still would be horrendous!
Please remember this when you vote in 2010. Thank you.

ACORN got $53 million in federal funds since 94, now eligible for up to $8 billion more
By: Kevin Mooney,Commentary Staff Writer for the Washington Examiner
        May 5, 2009

At least $53 million in federal funds have gone to ACORN activists since 1994, and the controversial group could get up to $8.5 billion more tax dollars despite being under investigation for voter registration fraud in a dozen states.

The economic stimulus bill enacted in February contains $3 billion that the non-profit activist group known more formally as the Association for Community Organizations for Reform Now could receive, and 2010 federal budget contains another $5.5 billion that could also find its way into the group’s coffers.

An Examiner review of federal spending data found that ACORN has received at least $53 million in federal money since 1994. A downloadable spreadsheet of the $53 million is posted on washingtonexaminer.com.

  • Joe Schlepp

When asked about Acorn, Obama replied to the Reporter, “Oh, I did not know that Acorn was getting Federal moneys” – what a lie from the President.

It is well known that Obama has close ties with Acorn and pushing for Financial aid for Acorn.

To everyone commenting. Yes both Parties are full of corrupt politicians and they will continue to buy votes by promising our dumbed down voters freebies. The old saying if it sounds to good to be true it probably isn’t is applicable in Government also.
Young people do not remember the Poll Tax because the Warren Court struck it down many years ago. The poll tax was a pittance of 1 to 3 dollars but it required a person to actually get up off his/her a– and go purchase a polltax receipt. The receipt actually meant that you wanted to vote and have your voice heard. Lazy and ignorant people therby didn’t vote and fraud was virually unheard of.
Before the morons start yelling “what about the poor” much of what happens today could be eliminated by requiring everyone to put forth just a little effort in order to register to vote in each and every election.

Everyone should always remember that the difference between a staesman and a politician is a politician is always looking toward the next election while a statesman looks toward the next generation . I really can not think of a single statesman in any branch of the elected gov’t. If ‘We the People’ continue to elect politicians our country is doomed,as a matter of fact it is probably already to late. My opinion being what it is doesn’t mean anything but I must say some of the actions of this administration border on being treasonous. God help us all.

  • Jim

Julie, you’re a true idiot and completely hopeless. Telling you to get you head our of your ass would be pointless because you couldn’t see the truth if it bit you there. And where do you get your balance from, Julie, you TWIT!!??

  • Ronald Tyler

Why is Obama not being brought into the forefront of this investigation into ACORN??? Barack Hussein Obama was the head legal Beagle for this corrupt organization. The next investigation that needs to go on is into what real connection Barack Obama had with Acorn, and what if any criminal dealings that he with Acorn. If it can be proved that Obama’s connection with Acorn (and I believe it was) was in violation of any state and Federal Laws, then this President needs to be impeached and brought to justice!

Did Barack Obama tell anyone at ACORN to violate ANY State and Federal laws?

Did Barack Obama as legal counsel for ACORN influence anyone to violate any state or Federal laws?

Prior to his election to the highest office in the land, did Barack Obama have any knowledge of voter fraud committed by ACORN?

If Barack Obama did have information that ACORN had committed voter fraud anywhere in the United States, Why did he not report it?

Did Barack Obama or any member of his campaign encourage or cover up ANY attempted voter fraud in order to win the election?

If any connection can be established of wrong doing/violation of any laws, than this President must by law be held directly responsible. He has been throwing everyone else under the bus, It is time to hold President Obama responsible as well.

Acorn is part of the greater problem. This country is bleeding money and our representatives, Republican and Democrat, don’t get it. Corruption has run through our government for years. I agree we need to investigate this organization and take action. We need to ask the bigger question. Where is the Constitution? If you read the document and follow its articles none of this is permissable. I think it would be wise for our leaders to step back and reread their job decripitions.

    • JT54

Right ON… if we don’t then we might as well change the name of our country to the United Socialist States of America and rebuild the Berlin wall appoligizing next to communist Russia. Our leftist leader is good at that. VOTE them all out…Republican and Democrats… make them look for their own retirement packages, make them use whatever healthcare we are all forced to use and DO NOT pay them their salary for the rest of their lives for serving 1 or 2 or MORE? terms… when the job is done so is the pay! Like the rest of us. TERM limits, pay limits, NO special retirements or healthcare. To our founding Fathers Government was a part time job with NO benefits except those that benefitted us all.

Why isn’t ACORN being investigated under the RICCO act? About 10-20 years ago (I think), some politicians were screaming to put the Right to Life groups in jeapordy with this act.
And according to these postings, yea, just about every politician (Dems and Repubs) is so crooked that they’ll have to be screwed into the ground when they die.

  • http://lakesidesportsmanclub.biz Capt Ron Sr

Chip. This may have happened after You wrote this article BUT, that Great Protector of Our Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano just donated $1 MILLION of Our dollars to Acorn through FEMA for Fire Protection and Law Enforcement. What the H— does ACORN know about these programs. WHY wasn’t that money given directly to the Fire and Law Enforcement Agency’s?? Oh Yes. If they did that, the money would not get channeled back into the Political Campaign Funds.

    • American Citizen

Shows how sneaky those in this administration can be.

      • s c

By the way, since it’s obvious that ACORN isn’t worth having around (let alone giving them MILLIONS of tax dollars), I’d like to know when it will become important to make the vermin at ACORN REFUND EACH AND E V E R Y PENNY.
It’s bad enough that America has any ‘wealth redistribution’ con artists. America deserves to have all of that money returned. This is NOT charity for criminals!
As far as I’m concerned, every group associated with comrade obama should be investigated. That having been said, good luck in making holder do his job. You already know comrade obama won’t.

        • American Citizen

All Eric Holder wants to do is investigate the people who keep our country safe. The CIA just rooted out a cell that was planning to plant bombs on trains. They used FISA to find out what they were planning.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

            AM Citizen
Are you saying some terrorists were rooted out under the Obama Administration.
Shame of it all – The CIA did not do that on 9/11.
Look at the lives that might have been saved and a war that would not have materialized.

          • James B

Dee D, you’re obviously not a student of history. Most of our citizens aren’t. Too much TV news and not enough independent research. Our intelligence gathering capabilities, both at home and abroad, were absolutely decimated under the Clinton administration. This problem was, of course, inherited by the Bush Administration. Say what you want to about Bush, and I am definitely NOT a fan, but we built our national security and intelligence gathering capabilities back up. Unfortunately, the Obama administration appears intent on disabling/dismantling much of what THEY inherited. And how about that piece-of-work, Nancy Pelosi, busted on video flat-ass lying about CIA briefings? That’s the type of leadership we have purportedly running this great nation of ours right now. Abominable. And, yes, Bush was miserable as well.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

            You are right James.
Even as a child in school I realized History was so full of lies and pure crap. I thought it was the most boring subject in school.
I have worked a lot on my family linage and one fact I have truly learned – the true hero’s that made our country as great as it once was were given no credit at all for their accomplishments and spilled blood.
But there were an great number who was standing in line to take credit for the work many little men done and gave their life for.

  • Luz Gonzales

Thank God these crooks got caught. They are a bunch of rats from the TOP to the bottom, I hope you know what I mean. I hope the TOP get caught too. HE and all his “Chicago gang” needs to be tried by the Constitution and the American people.

  • Bill

Chip: Your article was right on. However don’t celebrate to soon. You stated: “ACORN was in line to receive a staggering $8.5 billion in stimulus funds from the Obama Administration. Color that money gone.

I hate to burst your baloon. But I wouldn’t count on that money being gone for good. The same politicians who promised it to them are still residing in Washington D. C.

  • Darlene

This all started with Glenn Beck’s program on Fox News, It is my opinion that every American that wants to remain free Read Glenn Beck’s book Arguing with Idiots, You may not agree with everything he says but just for the historical information it is a great book. I am not being paid to say this. Thank God that some of these things are coming out into the open, and that we still have the freedoms to express them.
Everyone should send out a pink slip to there representatives. Putting them on notice that we are watching and they may be in the unemployment line soon as they are making the unemployment problem worse not better with all of there spending. We need to get back to the Constitution and have the Gov. get out of our pockets. Gov. is no good at anything they get there hands on. Free enterprise will work its way into more jobs not big Gov.

    • DaveH

Thanks Darlene. I think Glenn Beck is a great American hero. Okay, now brace yourself for the Zombie attacks.

      • eyeswideopen

My only hope is that he has his breakdown on air, so you people don’t think that the liberals had anything to do with it.

        • JeffH

I’ll betcha Pelosi breaks down first. Everyday I send her an email demanding that she resign. A far more evil and ignorant person than the now great Glen Beck! Used to be Limbaugh, Hannity and now Beck is with them too. Just riles all of you doesn’t it!

          • eyeswideopen

Nay, I’m pretty sure Glen with his vicks vapor rub, will probably be busted for lying about something big, will break down, then that’s over, Hannity is jealous of beck, so he will be plotting for his demise. Rush, once a drug addict……he will either be busted for drugs or some kind of sexual thing, the only one who comes close to being a journalist is Bill O’Reily. He will probably survive. The crew aren’t involved in news, they are just entertainers who whip up the base and stand back. It is a shame that they didn’t use their formats to educate the citizens

          • JeffH

In the mean time Beck will continue to expose Obama and his sidekicks AND enjoy his newfoud celebrity with the left alongside Limbaugh and Hannity.

          • DaveH

I wouldn’t blame any of them for breaking down. It is maddening to have to deal with a bunch of thieving people who think they occupy the moral high ground when they have no morals.

      • James B

Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh and company need to put the pettiness aside and stop the name calling and finger pointing. Let’s focus on specific policy issues and come up with some potential solutions.

I’m a conservative who has voted both Republican and Democrat. I do listen selectively to talk radio, but the tone of these guys is getting old. They’re sounding just like the libs did when the Republicans were in power.

That said, we DO need government watchdogs and contrarian spokespeople, regardless of which party is in power.

  • Average Joe

This article was written in the 1980′s as referenced by the populatoin totals and references to Tip O’Neill etc; however the facts remain the same.

    THE 545 PEOPLE
    RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL
    OF AMERICA’S WOES

    BY CHARLEY REESE

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don’t write the tax code. Congress does. You and I don’t set fiscal policy. Congress does. You and I don’t control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices – 545 human beings out of the 235 million – are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank.

I excluded all but the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it.

No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

    A CONFIDENCE CONSPIRACY

Don’t you see how the con game that is played on the people by the politicians? Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of Tip O’Neill, who stood up and criticized Ronald Reagan for creating deficits.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating appropriations and taxes.

O’neill is the speaker of the House. He is the leader of the majority party. He and his fellow Democrats, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto.

    REPLACE SCOUNDRELS

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 235 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts – of incompetence and irresponsibility.

I can’t think of a single domestic problem, from an unfair tax code to defense overruns, that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.

When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red. If the Marines are in Lebanon, it’s because they want them in Lebanon.

There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take it.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exist disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone are responsible. They and they alone have the power. They and they alone should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses – provided they have the gumption to manage their own employees.

This article was taken from the Orlando Sentinel Star newspaper

    ‘Nuff said.

    • DaveH

Right on Average. Thanks for posting that. I didn’t know you had it in you.

  • TERRY

I have not heard anyone mention the fact that the brother of the leader of ACORN embezzelled over a million dollars (I forget the exact figure) from ACORN; and it was covered up until very recently. These are the kind of criminals with which we are dealing. You can call Wall Street and insurance company executives crimnals, but they operated within the law (exept for a very few which are being prosecuted) but they did not steal from a presumed non profit community aid organization. So, are they in it for the money & to defraud Americans of our tax dollars, or are they in it to “help the poor”?

ACORN has launched numerous law suits against various corporations and groups and reaped untold thousands of dollars from their activities in addition to our tax dollars that they steal. Wake up and smell the coffee. You’ve been duped the communistic criminals such as ACORN!

I must agree with Ron who stated that Obama should be investigated. There is no question that there was rampant voter fraud in the presidential election. ACORN was his point organization in the get out the vote effort.

George Bush made some seemingly dumb decisions (which only history will tell) but Obama’s actions border on treason. This is the most corrupt, secretive, and fascist presidency in our history. The most communistic person could defend the actions of Obama to destroy the greatest economy on earth and in history. I cannot imagine anyone else wishing to destroy this country than a true commnunist.

    • DaveH

      Well said Terry.

    • eyeswideopen

Terry, I keep asking for an example from any of you people, one specific example which could pass the impeachment process, which treason should. Give me one example of treason, other than your emotional hate sprewing rhetoric. Just one.

      • April

What about Nixon’s impeachment for Watergate. And it is not hard to present other examples of treason. Let’s see, there is Jane Fonda’s visit to North Vietnam; she met and chummed up with commie leaders and bashed and insulted the USA at the cost of the moral and lives of POWs. She betrayed every American especially POWs with moral boosting the enemy and cheered on beatings and killing of Officers by by enlisted soldiers. Ohh there is Benedict Arnold during the American Revolutionary War. And what about the Rosenburg case for passing American atomic plans over to the Soviet Union. And now Mr O apologizes for the USA, bows to Saudi Arabia King, more loyal to a Muslim mosque in Turkey than he is to our soldiers, and the list goes on and on and he adds to the list regularly. One has to be a commie or downright evil or ignorant or just stupid to defend him.

        • eyeswideopen

April, I want one item, action incident that justifies Obama to be impeached. Not the history of everyone else. But thanks. Everyone wants to impeach him, what is the justification other than not liking him?

          • Michael J.

            OK, Birth certificate

          • Jen

Birth certificate hummm.. Obama pays over a Hundred thousand dollars to attorneys per month to keep it sealed from the public..

            Wonder why Impeachment maybe?

        • Michael J.

Amen April and if Henry were alive today he sure wouldn’t be fonda Jane.

  • Pat R

Bill you are right on! I doubt that many on Capitol Hill have even read the Constitution or Bill of rights. Their ignorance shows to be true!
In reference to Obama and ACORN, you and I both know that our so-called
President knows full well what goes on with this evil, corrupt Org. Why not treat this life the “Confiscation Law” why they take private property at will. Under their guidelines, everyone is guilty and you have to prove your innocence! Obama is Guilty right along with all of Acorn. Here is the grounds for Impeachment!!!!! Let him worry about
proving his innocence. What a farce that will be.

  • Milton L. Meigs

When the political imp;pairative is reelection, what do you really expect?

  • Bill

I would like to suggest to the Republicans that if they wish to regain control of congress in 2010 that they urge all of their incumbants to withdraw from the race and seek completely new candidates for the office. Candidates who have unblemished records of honesty and intellegence.

Why, because many, many conservatives like myself are going to be dedicated to turn out all incumbents in the 2010 election who have brought this debacle on by their own dishonesty or stupidity in thinking that the only really important thing for them to do was to feather their nest and try to regain election.

Will Rogers said many years ago No one ever gets rich in politics —— honestly.

The previous article By Charley Reese written in 1980 says it all: “THE 545 PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF AMERICA’S WOES”

I’ve read some interesting stats recently about how much better the stock market does when Congress is not in session doing their thing.

    • eyeswideopen

Bill, finally a person who will spread the responsibilty equally amoungst the two parties. Thank you, I too will be voting out anyone elected prior to 2009.

      • JeffH

…and you, eyes, should take a note from the chapter and place equal blame on both parties. Since I have been on this site, you blame and bash the Republican party far more than 50%. Ah, because you are Republican, does that make it OK?

        • eyeswideopen

yup, it’s like when your family does something wrong, you can critize them, but Lord help the others who do. I have been a Republican for 40 years, way more than 3/4 of my life. It is part of who I am, and I am not happy with the deceit, lying, lack of ethics, denials, etc. it reflects on me, as I voted and gave money to that party. I helped get young people registered, carpooled them to the polls, worked with the local chapters and look at what we have in office. Lying, Obstructionist!!

        • JeffH

It is that way on both sides of the fence. So you made a mistake! Let go and move on! Don’t take it to your grave with you because you made a bad choice. It won’t be the first and I am sure it won’t be your last. Most all of us realize that both parties are evil! You don’t have to carry the flag because you make everyone believe that your only existance is to argue and display your hate for Bush with anyone that might remotely disagree with Obama.

          • JeffH

My point is you fail to even acknowledge that Soros is an evil enemy of America, who has dedicated his life and finances to destroy the very core of this country, but instead bring up Adleson, who’s agenda is to not recognize a two state Israel/Palestine. Yes, he contributes heavily to the GOP and expects favors from them, but he hasn’t made it his goal to destroy America. Me, I choose to not like Soros because he is ANTI-AMERICAN.

          • eyeswideopen

Jeff you perceive that Adelson, it not trying to destroy America, who do you think is paying for all the base to be stoked up and screaming hateful things? They showed the Fox producer who was whipping up the crowd, don’t be so naive to think that Adelson with all his money is not trying to hijack this country. You are like a parent who is showing particality towards one child and is in complete denial. If you can’t even admit that a man with 26 billion dollars has any control or input in the Republican party, you truly have a closed mind. Which does surprise me.

        • eyeswideopen

Jeff, I place blame where it lies. Since the President has only been in office for 8 months who do you think is responsible for this mess? Do you think that 10 years ago, he got all the Republicans to vote the way they did? Come on. I hold the last party in power accountable for the crap we have today. and it is unbelieveable that people are so stupid to think that Obama caused this. Like I said, you named every Dem you could think of, but couldn’t think of one repub who needs to be removed? Just a little biased don’t you think. You accuse me of exactly what you do. But it’s ok, as you just happen to be on the side who doesn’t want to be accountable and is fearful of anything new.

          • JeffH

You are a fraud! Polly want a cracker?

  • Frankie

Don’t you love it when the cockroaches and rats like ACORN start running when when the lights are turned on? Look how Obama throws his hand-picked cronies under the bus when they’re exposed. He’s been well trained by his handlers, but he has only one talent–his mouth. He is so inexperienced and naive he actually believes what he is told to say. The American people (those who own their own minds, that is) are embarrassed every time he gives a speech in front of foreign leaders. With all the knowledge and past experience of our past and present civilizations available to people, it is very hard to comprehend that anyone with any education at all would fall for the lure of communism the way the radical left have. Thank God there are still an awful lot of us left that can see through the Party’s machinations!

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

All the cockroaches and rats should learn from Foley.
Just put themselves into re-hab to save a lot of money and prosecution in the final draft.

  • T Stein

Wow great article. Thanks Chip for putting it out there. I love to hear about when bad, immoral, lying, bad for the country companies are exposed and destroyed. I can’t wait until the day when planned parenthood is exposed for the evil murderous deeds they do. Obama is and was a major supporter of both so he will be found out and kicked out of office soon enough. So I have two questions for the viewer,
What are you doing to help us keep our rights here in America ?(Because Obama is working so hard to make this a communist country and rob us from our freedom.)
    And Where’s the birth certificate?

    • DaveH

      Stein,
Both parties have been growing the government since Bush Senior took office, albeit much more dramatically under the Democrats. Big Government is the problem. It is relatively easy for the evil doers to succeed when the government is so damn big. The one-size-fits-all concept is failing and people need to wake up to that reality. No matter which major party is in control, a large portion of the population is upset. We need to get back to true freedom as envisioned by our forefathers who were steeped in Libertarian philosophy. The only solution to our pell-mell rush to tyranny is the Libertarian Party:

  • http://dna R. Gene Baxter

I agree that many groups need watching; but after the last regime’s attorney general and the scandal of removing judges to lean on them to prosecute Democrats while ignoring Republican corruption, we independents have a bad taste in our mouth for such a now proven greedy group complaining about the other side. This last regime left the taxpayer with such a mess that we believe that they have no credibility. Profiteering from the blood of our children over lies taking us to war is not honorable, but treason. The scandals of Halliburton alone make ACORN look like choirboys, not to mention Blackwater, Brown & Roots slant drilling process that started the Gulf War, and the list goes on. This is small voter fraud beans when compared to Kathryn Harris’ removal of all those voters in Florida, lying and saying that they were criminals, when in fact 95% of them were not, and thus another treacherous act of illegal voting fraud. People in glass houses don’t need to be so smug, and that doesn’t even count the jammed phone lines and long list of illegal activities from the party that tried to impeach Clinton, while a long list of those voting to do so were committing the same thing that they were screaming about Clinton doing. Hypocracy has no bounds in that party of….Watergate….Iran Contra….Iraq….you all must have been living under a rock to miss that.

    • eyeswideopen

      R. Gene,

I am presently an unhappy Republican, who is seriously considering becoming an Independent. Is there an Independent platform?

    • Don

Another rocket scientist.. Do you remember when Bill Clinton FIRED 90, YES 90 federal prosecutors so he could put in his people to whitewash the Whitewater scandal. NO you’re too blind to see what the DemocRATS do

      • eyeswideopen

As a repub, I see what the Dem’s do, and it is no worse that what we do and have done. Both party’s suck and are hypocrites, who lie and cheat and steal. I just expected my party to have integrity, so I am let down, with the past 10 years.

        • JeffH

          you are so right.

  • tinman

You democrats think your real clever calling yourselves independents. You guys are just a bunch of fence riders. Stand for something or get out of the way.

    • eyeswideopen

Tinman, what do you think it is called when a country only has one party, one view point, one religion ? I know you only want the Republicans to be in control, but sweetie, that is communism.

When you discount and demean another person as you just did to an Independent, you are hurting your shrinking party membership and it’s ability to get votes from somewhere other than the shrinking rt wingers. At this point, I would think you would be smart enough to give a little respect to the group of people who have the power to help you or hurt you, as they just proved in the last election. Or didn’t you know that you Repubs lost?

      • tinman

        We all lost!

        • eyeswideopen

Tinman, guess what the Dem’s don’t think they lost. and they didn’t. WE DID!!!. Do you not get it? WE the Repubs lost the election, they the Dem’s won!. It is really easy to understand. They won and they want to implement their own policies, just like we did. I don’t remember us asking them what they thought prior to us doing whatever we damn well pleased. We used the bully pulpit and pushed through anything and everything we wanted. This is America, and that is how we function. You probably just got used to the power from 1995 until now. Quite a shock ugh?

      • DaveH

Republicans mean Communism? Come on Eyes. Those kind of statements belie your grasp of politics.

        • eyeswideopen

No, Dave, the one party mentality, only the repub party is right mentality ,that is dangerous thinking and you know it. Not one person on this site who is a rt winger, republican can make a statement that any other party has a right to their ideas and that the repubs are not always right. Hell, they can’t even admit that they lost because people are afraid of them. They didn’t adhere to any fiscal platform. It was spend, spend, spend. Cut taxes, cut taxes, cut taxes and war, war, war. A balanced budget was a foreign word. Yup, the Repubs scared the hell out of America.

          • James B

Eyes, I don’t agree with much of what you say, buy I do agree with you here. Remember though … While all people are certainly entitled to their opinions, not all opinions are equally valid. Two sides with diametrically opposing views will not both be correct. History will prove one side more fundamentally correct than the other, despite all the passionate and well-meaning support for the incorrect side.

          • Don

Congress controls the budget. The only time we had a balanced budget was when Clinton was Pres. YEAH and we had a Republican Majority in Congress, REMEMBER, hell no you can’t remember that

      • American Citizen

You Repubs not we Repubs? Now we know you’re a Democrat in disguise here. So Republicans in control equals Communism. What do you call it with Democrats in control as they are now?

        • eyeswideopen

Socialists. I am not going to fight for the Republican party anymore. I am through with radical know it alls, who damaged this country and think that only their party is the one with answers. Take a look at Congress and let’s hear how proud you are of them. Party of NO.!! Both parties have soldiers who die for this country and the last straw was ex- military men spewing hate for their brothers.

      • Thurman Marcum

        Eyes,

You mean fascism.Communism was a theory that never materialize. That in Russia,China and Cuba are a peculiar type of socialism. It bears little resemblance to Karl Marx’s theory.Lenin’s brand of so called comunism was a brutal hoax,it cost millions of lives. The so called communist are on the extreme left and the fascist are on the extreme right. The so called communist say they wanted to create a workers paradise which never happen.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

      Whoa tinman.
I have always been an Independent, that is until 2000. Now, I will never again vote for a Republican, I don’t care how good I may think he is. I really hated it when my vote counted for nothing.
We really ought to think about a woman (heaven forbid Palin) for pres..
The women only has one head to think with – ruling out allowing the wrong head to think for them.
No I have not been pleased with any of the three females that been up for vote yet.

      • eyeswideopen

Dee, you are right, at least the women don’t have a problem keeping their pants up. Heh Heh. Palin, was used to try to get the females in this country to leave the Dem party and hop over the the repub. What an insult. Surprise, surprise, we didn’t fall for it, and she lost. Womens standards are tougher than men’s, we expect intelligence combined with integrity to be the bare minimum qualification in a political nominee.

        • James B

WOW … and you actually voted in the past ellection??? How could you possibly justify THAT in light of the statement you just made??? :)

          • eyeswideopen

James, I have voted in every election since the 60′s. Yes, as a woman, I am allowed to be picky and not support a female who is a quitter, and non-informed, granted she is pretty, but that doesn’t cut it with most of the Republican women that I know.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

Eyes I agree with you and all women who can read and think for themselves are as picky as you and they also have the intellect to tell the difference.
Did you happen to track McCain’s eyes when he was introducing Palin to the crowd. Talk about allowing the wrong head to rule – LMAO

  • James Carey

Tonight @ 9:00pm Megyn Kelly of Fox News Channel will be shown interviewing Wade Rathke, former founder and Leader of ACORN. Megyn has recently been off air giving birth to her a baby boy. This interview was recorded in September before her maternity leave (I believe). Both Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck have been very involved in exposing the ACORN corruption and that is exactly what it is. I am a Canadian who has been watching this from our side of the border and I am amazed at how long it has taken the good neighbors in America to see what is truly going on in your Republic that used to be a FREE COUNTRY. Thank goodness you are awaking. Idiots like Julie have had their turn and I hope her leader Nancy Pelosi gets hers soon. We have had Liberal Socialist governments in charge here in Canada for many years. They feel they have the divine right to govern. At the moment we have a moderate middle of the road Conservative (in name only) minority government run by a really well intentioned leader. The left is bashing and knashing to topple them and we will probably have another federal election soon. We just had one last year because the left wouldn’t allow the middle to do anything without blocking it. The goings on by Obama and his ilk have put such a stain on the LEFT that our MIDDLE of the ROAD government has been climbing in the polls. Your situation is just that scary.
Read Bill O’Reilly’s “Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity” and realize that you have the best Journalist in the FREE WORLD working for your safety and fair play. He is neither LEFT (Heaven forbid) or RIGHT but simply FAIR!! He judges them as he sees them and gives Obama the benefit of doubt due his high office. He has not ridiculed Glenn Beck’s conspiracy hints nor has he endorsed them YET!! We could sure use a TV personality like him on one of our Canadian Networks (all of which are mostly Liberal).
I wonder how long it will take the FCC (under Obama) to try to take Fox News off the air?? That is what is keeping the administration from ramming their agenda down the throats of your Republic.

    • Jen

James isn’t that the truth, And isn’t it amazing how some of us can see through the curtain. Fox news is the only news that tells it the way it is without backing down like all the other stations who go where the wind blows, Real Americans want the Truth not propaganda.

      • James Carey

You are so right Jen. I only wish we had a Network or Station in Canada like Fox News. We had one Mike Duffy on CTV who was fair and unbiased. Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed him to the Senate so now we don’t have him on the air (NEWS that is). Alas the rest are all Liberal Left leaners. I can’t believe some of the comments that Eyes, Ruth and others are making. What about the self professed Communist Van Jones?? Beck uncovered that and he had to resign. Beck is liable to get shot as a martyr one of these days and I don’t blame him for being a bit fearful. He had a large crowd in Seattle and his show with the Moms was very well received.

        • JeffH

Trust her because eyes has all of the answers and even more questions but her only answer is “blame the Republicans”.

    • eyeswideopen

James, no Canadian, would speak with such passion about our screw ups here in America. Mainly they are just confused that we keep making stupid mistakes. I therefore doubt that you are truly a Canadian. Interesting that Fox news would be purchasing time in your area? Just be honest and state that you are one of the many rt wingers who loves Glen Beck.

      • DaveH

So any Canadian that doesn’t agree with you isn’t real? Wow, are you hitting the sauce Eyes?

      • James Carey

I live in Kelowna, BC Canada
        In British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley.
Our Cable allows us to subscribe to Fox News on Shaw Cable
Channel 142. I am a right wing person but mostly I believe in
fair news reporting. Our Prime Minister Steven Harper’s home constituency is in Calgary, AB I am an eighth generation
Canadian born in West Vancouver, BC .

        • eyeswideopen

James, let me apologize, I was being sarcastic, previously we had some Canadian wanna bee’s on this site making statements that were so American rt-wing that it was funny. Maybe because you are a right winger, you sounded just like them. lol. Once again,I apologize and I wasn’t slaming you as a Canadian, just taking note, you might as well live here. lol.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

Eyes – Are you up on the off shore money thugs? They have the right to come clean without prosecution. I have seen very little on the names, but it would behoove us all to follow it and see who the money lords are that care not to invest in the country that houses them.
It’s been a long time in the making – now they are being caught and the foreign banking institutions are giving names.

          • DaveH

Yes, let’s take away the money from those evil thugs and give it to (do I hear angels singing?) our beneficial and well-intentioned government people.

          • DaveH

Oops. Wrong place. Damn, that’s twice I’ve been wrong.

Apparently, these messages are being placed by a random number generator. Must be too late for the server.

Yes, let’s take away the money from those evil offshore thugs and give it to (do I hear angels singing?) our beneficial and well-intentioned government people.

          • eyeswideopen

No, let’s give it to our soldiers who need new equipment and then some for the elderly, and many some for the education system.

          • David Hall

Eyes, you can forget our public school system. Once, they took out, the pledge of allegiance, prayer,(in the name of Jesus), discipline,(the paddle) and replaced that, with birth control pills, and condoms, and the evolution theory, newer buildings and more computers ain’t going to do the trick. Sit down and scratch your head and think about it.

          • keith

you nmean the mis-information system!heck.they don’t teach”real” history anymore, just waterdowned brain numbing CRAP!ask ANY 9th grader about the revoutionary war or the founding fathers, they don’t know diddly, the teachers even if they want to teach the truth are fired for doing so,when i went to school,it WAS school, now?,it’s a socialist indoctination program!screw that crap, they need to be taught their AMERICANS!!!and what it MEANS to be a AMERICAN,screw the REST of the world, that can come later,i just sat down with a neighbors kid who was doing a report on the second world war and why we got into it,the damn history books did’nt even mention our support of britain BEFORE we went over and stomped the hell out of the damn socialist nazi’s.i mean they left out all the stuff about us through the merchant marine ships that were sunk by the u-boats!we were the reason britain did’nt go down.our so called education system blows and stinks to high heaven.next time you have the chance read through a current history book, bet, you’ll be pissed!

          • David Hall

Amen! to that TRUTH! One thing for sure, Bush, or McCain would have already sent the 40,000 troops needed. Just like you wrote, Obama, could CARE LESS. He’s selling our Nation out, and is doing the same
with our troops. If, he’s not going to send the 40,000 troops, at least, he should pull them out of that sh*t-hole. Have a great day, I’m
            going deer hunting, this morning.

          • Norm

Obama should do exactly what he is doing. That is study the situation, weigh the alternatives, and make a decision. If more troops are needed, then so be it. He, not Bush or McCain, is the commander in chief and the last thing he needs is monday morning quarter backing. Surely he can’t do worse than Bush.
Don’t hurt yourself hunting, guns can be dangerous.

FIGHTING & WAITING ON MORE TROOPS. I WISH, YOU DAMN COMMANDER AND CHIEFS’ DAUGHTERS WERE OVER THERE AND MAYBE HE WOULD SEND MORE TROOPS.
            THAT’S NOT MONDAY MORNING QUARTER-BACKING, IT’S A DAMN FACT! SMART-A**!

Keith, smarty pants! I still ain’t got one. I’ll get one, come muzzle-loader season. I hope Rush, burns Sharpton’s HINNY, too! (BEING POLITICIALLY CORRECT). HA! HA!

          • Norm

            David Hall and keith

Yeah I was in the Air Force.
I also think we should leave military matters to the military, under civilion authority, just like the “founding fathers” knew it had to be.

          • David Hall

Norm, Norm, poor Norm, if they took your brain and put it in a blue-jays head. The little bird would fly backwards, if it could fly at all.
You was in the Air Force, Norm, Norm, poor Norm, you can go to hell for
lieing, just like you can for stealing. Leave military matters, for the
military, I agree, your messiah, NEVER, EVER served in any U.S. Armed
Forces. He don’t know his (WORDS REMOVED FOR OFFENSIVE CONTENT), therefore, Obama, should leave military matters to our military Generals in the
field. If, they think, they need 40, 50 or a million more troops, to
clean up the (WORDS REMOVED FOR OFFENSIVE CONTENT), their in, there your messiah Obama, should send
the troops and stay out of their way. He can be concerned with all the
            screw-ups, that he’s screwing-up and screwing-up more AT HOME.

          • Norm

            David Hall
That is the most ridiculous reply I’ve seen so far. What branch of the military did you serve in by the way?

          • David Hall

Norm, Hang around there’s more to come. And IF, you really served in the Air Force, then I apologize for that ONE STATEMENT to you about the
little bird, but NOT AT ALL ABOUT OBAMA. I’m very thankful, to God
Almighty and anybody who has serve in our Armed Forces, for my liberty
and freedom, even if we have many different veiws and opinions. As for
me, I served under General Nathan Bedford Forrest, here in Benton County, Tennessee. Ha! Ha! just kidding. I was real lucky, during the
Vietnam War, they were pulling troops out, back then when you registered for the draft, there was like a lottery # and my was low, they never called me up, so I never went. I’m thankful for it, because
some of buddies that was 2 years older did get drafted, one got killed,
one got messed up. Plus, my daddy was in Korean War and he told me, if
you get drafted you got to go, but if not, you ain’t going, nowhere.

          • eyeswideopen

Norm, don’t bother arguing with those two, they don’t have any respect or understand that when you serve, the President, is the Commander in Chief, for all of the military, and we lay our politics down when we enlist. Funny, they don’t seem to remember that the request for more troops laid on a Republican desk, for 8 months until, Obama, in March decided to send more troops. Now that the situation has changed and someone is actually going to review the options and might change the course of action,( I know, wierd isn’t it, thinking prior to acting) they don’t know what to think. I know two things, one, that war was treated like a step child when Cheney, got Bush to declare war on Iraq and it has dragged on with no active plan, other than to just survive. Two, we didn’t capture Bin Laden, and we have acted like our kids there didn’t matter, as we were diverting funds to Iraq for the whole time. Obama, is not going to be led around by the nose, like Cheney did to Bush, Obama, will review and may decide that we can’t win with a government in that won’t cooperate with us. Our killed in action, has not increased out of the norm, since the general requested more troops, so the delay has not cost us anymore than the ususal cost of war does.

          • David Hall

Gee! Eyes! Thanks, for informing me that the President is the Commander-in-Chief. Brilliant, observation. I admire the words of educated minds. I’m like a kid, in a candy store. Just, because there is millions of mis-informed, idiots that elected Obama for President and Commander-in-Chief, doesn’t make him a RESPONSIBLE LEADER! HE CAN’T
GOVERN AND DAMN SURE CAN’T LEAD. If you can’t understand that, I make it easy for you, he couldn’t pour piss out of an Army Boot, much less,
lead our troops into battle. Man, damn get over Bush! It’s the dems’
world and your messiah Obamas’. Their educated minds, got our Nation in a damn mess and getting a hell of a lot worse as I type. Trillions,
in debt, 10% unemployment and climbing. This ain’t under Bush, it’s your Great Commander-in-chief’s watch! Yeah, all these brilliant minds,
            are Foolish and SICKENING!

          • keith

comrad obama COULD CARE LESS about our soldiers!as he hates america and what it stands for,he’ll throw our soldeirs under the bus like he did to gen christal and pea brained pelosi will clap while he does it,friggen hag!

James, can you name me any award that Glen has received? He stated on Barbara Walters, that he wasn’t a journalist, just a commentator, so he didn’t have to check facts prior to speaking on a subject. So this is the one for you? Amazing!!

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Eyes – Not a commontator of news. Glen Beck is just a run of the mill COMMON – Tater.

      • DaveH

        Eyes,
Do you or Dee even watch the Glenn Beck show? His statements are a lot more logical than yours. His audience is growing because people with open minds are able to grasp the danger that he is trying to expose.

        • eyeswideopen

His audience is growin? Now you are drinking. His sponsorship is falling like rocks. The guys has become a bafoon. I used to watch him until he moved to Fox, he is going over the edge. Every time he opens his mouth it is another dumb statement. Vancover lost money for the 2010 olympics? They haven’t even been held yet. Oh, I forgot he has powers to see into the future, or he thought they had already been held. Either way, he is a nut.

          • JeffH

and yet Glen Beck has now reached STAR status alongside the evervigilant Limbaugh and Hannity. Not bad for someone that hasn’t many sponsors left.

        • eyeswideopen

The University of I don’t know??? Sure, he is just the best this country has ever seen. Why not run him for President, at least he reads books, unlike Palin.

          • JeffH

AHHHHHHHH, but Palin can write a book to the tune of #1 Best seller.
Not bad for an idiot! lol

          • eyeswideopen

Oh, Jeff, we both know the party will purchasing her book, to give her the stats and then offering it for free if you make a contribution to the party. lmao. I’m sure it will be up for some prestigious award before it is even released in print. Heh Heh. The woman is bright enough to quit her office while she is hot and cash in on the tours and books. Wonder how many Alaskians will be buying one?? lol

          • JeffH

If she has “Gone Rogue”, what makes you think she will stay with the Republican Party?

          • DaveH

I hope she studies Libertarianism and joins our party. I like her energy. And anyone who pisses off the FM as she does must have something going for her.

          • eyeswideopen

Oh my gosh, yes please have her join your party, she can use her own plane to fly to the events. But you will have to redesign her wardrobe and please update her hairstyle. Then you will be set. Of course she will probably quit half way through the election, but don’t worry she’ll just write another book.!!! LMao

          • JeffH

Hey Einstein? You should be happy to get rid of the illiterate halfwit. If Palin is so stupid, why do you and your lefty friends pay so much attention to her? She obviously poses no threat to the “Socialist Party” or the Rebublicans. Maybe she’ll start a new party of her own and name it “The Air Head Party” so all of us Air Heads can support her.

        • eyeswideopen

Dave, I have a hard time listening to someone who admits that they don’t check facts, because they don’t have to. Why watch? It is a 50/50 chance that he is telling the truth!!

          • Don

To both of you ladies (using the term very loosely) Fox News channel has a larger listening audience then NBC,ABC, CBS MSNBC and CNN all together. You think Beck is losing his audience? You lady are losing your mind

          • eyeswideopen

Don, what no defense other than you think he is gaining viewers, yes sometimes I watch to see the train wreck. But never on a regular basis. It’s like an auto accident, you just have to see what stupid thing is happening.

          • JeffH

And you should be so successful!

        • http://Yahoo Dee D

          No Dave
I do not waste my time watching clowns. I outgrew Howdy Doody and Clarabell several years ago.
I do see some of his skits that Air America show.
I also like Olberman and Randi’s shpw. I have learned they do their homework and you can verify any and all they say. I haven’t caught them in a lie yet.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

Thank you Don for using the lady term so loosely. At least you are letting me know the correct head is doing the thinking.

      • James Carey

        Eyes
I often watch Glenn Beck as I started watching him when he was on Headline News Network (a division on CNN). I realize he is not a Journalist and never was. He was a radio guy for years before getting on Television. I just know that he has crusaded against corruption and commented on dumb moves by various people and politicians for a long time. He is often too dramatic and looks like a fool on the air at times but he often hits the mark too. He is not in the same class as Bill O’Reilly who was and is a true Journalist. I admire Barbara Walters and have watched her over the years do a terrific job interviewing Presidents and World Leaders. I don’t have a lot of use for Joy Behar other than her sense of humor (spelled humour in Canada by the way). I realize she is a good friend of Regis Philbin and I really have always liked the classy way Regis has comported himself over the years. They always treat him nicely on the View as he is a Liberal of course. Only Elizabeth is a Right Winger on that program and she takes a lot of flak. They really raked Glenn Beck over the coals and I can understand why. He should have never ventured onto that turf. As O’Reilly told him it was one of his dumbest moves ever.

      • David

        Eye’s, it’s called ratings baby..

These criminals are merely a symptom of a much larger and deeply ingrained problem. I hope that soon Americans realize its time to take back their country, peacefully of course.

  • Dan

You know the only Acorn i ever knew was grown from a tree and the squirrels harvested them for the winter….i liked it that way….Now we have human squirrels they call themselves Acorn and they have about the same amount of morals and intelligence…Their still Rodents no matter how you look at them…How did we get this group to get into our politics??…Give them some nuts and get rid of them!!

  • Stunned

Wow….it shocks me that there really are people as right-winged as this publication clearly caters too. I am married to a right-wing minded person but at least he is open to ideas. I signed up as a business publication and hoped for fair sided/fair minded REAL news (because that is how it was advertised). This is the most pathetic and scary group I have ever read…..truly I guess that just makes me lucky! I certainly don’t agree with ACORN and they should fry but not because they are democrat or republican but because they are wrong and taking advantage of people and the system is NOT what this country should be about and it should not be allowed.

    • gail lightfoot

I am sure you are seeing some rapid Reps beating the Dems over the head and name calling [I hvae not read all the comments] but that is not why sites like this attract you and me. Stay open to the possibility of the basically correct position of voluntarism and try to ignore the mean spirted comments.

    • eyeswideopen

Stunned, I know it took me about two weeks to get used to the rhetoric. You are lucky that your rt-winger is open to ideas.

    • Michael J.

Stunned, Your husband is probably not that open minded, he just doesn’t like sleeping on the couch. It’s never like that around my house though. When it comes to discussion in my house, I got my wife right where she wants me.

  • gail lightfoot

I was immediately struck by the possibility of a cooked up scheme when the videos were first released. Hard care anti-govt agnecy that I am, I could not imagine that anyone would so blatently violate basic morality much less legality.
Now I want to know how the two people came up with the scam they did. Did they try other approaches first? Did they really come up with this pimp/prostitute scam and go with it successfully with no other ideas in mind?
    Amazing!

    • JeffH

There was a full interview on FOX! The real truth news network!

    • eyeswideopen

Gail, it is something that the Repubs are familiar with, you know prostitution, sex scandals, LOL.

      • JeffH

You are a Republican so you must be into prostitution and sex scandals!

        • eyeswideopen

YOU BETCHA , I CAN NAME ALMOST EVERY ONE OF THE MOST RECENT ONES. However when I can’t remember, I just enter Republican Sex Scandals and up pops 95 of the Republicans who in the past ten years are involved in some kind of scandal. It really is an impressive list. I AM SO PROUD.

          • Michael J.

Ewo, The reason that Republican sex scandals out number that of Democrats is because homosexual type scandals are not listed.
Sex scandals? You just type about what ever pops up huh?

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Now now eyes- You know the Republican right has very high Family Values.
They tell you so over and over again. Say it often enough and it will be believed. Do as I say, not as I do.
The right wing Christians are doing a super job of driving a lot of people away from God also. Like that Baptist Minister that was praying for Obama to die from brain cancer. These ministers that preach politics from the pulpit should also be taxed. I can’t speak for their God but my God is a Liberal. He believes in helping all and killing none.

        • eyeswideopen

Dee, maybe that is what is so unbelievable, that they call themselves Christians.

    • Don

Gail Lighthead go back to acorn will you

  • Louis Haga

Can someone give me an address where I can send a contribution to ACORN? The organization obviously needs our financial help.

    • eyeswideopen

Louis, they get funding from a group called Democracy Alliance, they don’t need your money or the Fed’s money. They are taken care of by some really wealthy donors. They can function without the Fed’s money, and can keep right on recruiting the voters.

      • DaveH

Do you approve of that Eyes? I mean the wealthy donors. I thought wealthy people were evil in your eyes.

        • eyeswideopen

Why are you trying to twist my words, no, I don’t approve of it, just stating the facts. It doesn’t matter if they have federal funding or not, we think it is a big deal, it isn’t as it isn’t even a drop in the bucket financially and they can just keep functioning. We act like it was some big win, we need to find the ones who are really hurting us fiscally and do the same thing to them.

          • DaveH

Then you should support any effort to weed out corruption. Sorry, but $8,000,000,000 is not a drop-in-the bucket. Regardless, we need to start somewhere. It is inevitable that corruption grows as government increases in size. Talk to some Mexican citizens. Their country is rife with corruption. Due to the very heavy regulation of business, they must regularly bribe their officials to get anything accomplished. I am sure we have some of that here too, but I have not witnessed anything personally as I do my best to fly under the radar.

Glenn Beck is one of the few on TV who is trying to expose the corruption. And I think (don’t remember for sure) that you have disparaged him in your comments. I wish they had some way on here to search comments by CommentID (over the entire website).

        • eyeswideopen

I have no problem with wealthy people, I have a problem with liars, and cheats. Everyone should contribute, no one should be exempt. I have worked hard all my life to be in a higher tax bracket. Did you know that in 1899 we taxed chewing gum? Funny isn’t it?

    • JeffH

Call the White House because our president has their number memorized I am sure.

ACORN noticed [Obama] when he was organizing on the far south side of the city with the Developing Communities Project. He was a very good organizer. When he returned from law school, we asked him to help us with a lawsuit to challenge the state of Illinois’ refusal to abide by the National Voting Rights Act, also known as motor voter. .. Obama took the case, known as ACORN vs. Edgar (the name of the Republican governor at the time) and we won. Obama then went on to run a voter registration project with Project VOTE in 1992 that made it possible for Carol Moseley Braun to win the Senate that year. Project VOTE delivered 50,000 newly registered voters in that campaign (ACORN delivered about 5,000 of them).
Since then, we have invited Obama to our leadership training sessions to run the session on power every year, and, as a result, many of our newly developing leaders got to know him before he ever ran for office. Thus, it was natural for many of us to be active volunteers in his first campaign for State Senate and then his failed bid for Congress in 1996. By the time he ran for Senate, we were old friends.

So, Eyes, since you are so focused on past presidents what did you think of Bill Clinton?

        • eyeswideopen

Hey, I was on board with impeaching Clinton.

          • http://Yahoo Dee D

Eyes No male has any excuse for allowing the wrong head to control his emotions, period. I am not judging nor condoning any actions that are less than honorable. I will say (not in defense), Clinton’s actions were with a consenting adult and not an underage boy or girl.
Somewhere above someone made the comment (Pot calling the Kettle Black)
Now is the right time and place for the comment.

          • eyeswideopen

I was for impeaching because he lied.

          • DaveH

            Eyes,
            Kudos for that.

  • Larry

Lets forget about past elections and screwups. Our Congress and White House are full of liars and criminals. Lets get some one to clean house and keep our democracy whole and stop the bickering.

    • eyeswideopen

Larry, I agree, someone I know is looking for the companies who receive Fed dollars who have committed fraud. Would you please let me know of any that you know of? I also will need link as to the source. Thank you in advance.

YES, I DO FAVOR TIME FOR ACORN TO CHOPPED DOWN FOR EVER AND FORBIDDEN USING NAME “ACORN” IN AMERICA COUNTRY EVER AGAIN !!. BECAUSE ONCE WE KEEP ACORN, THEY WILL KEEP “DIRTY WORKS” AND TRICKY ON AMERICAN CITIZENS AND CHILDREN ETC. (Sentences removed for offensive content)

Robert where will you go, when the Republicans decide that your immigration group needs to go back to where they came from?

eyes, I think you put to many big words out for him to understand. lol!

      • tinman

I was right the first time I called you out. You have to be on the government tit. You cant have a job you spend all your time replying to everything. If your stairing at the computer all day go to the Savage Nation website and tell me what you think. Be careful your true colors may show

        • eyeswideopen

Tinman, I was in a car accident, drunk took me on a whirl when I wasn’t ready. So for a while this is my only contact, and I at one time wanted to help the repubs recover and become a viable party once again. So, this site let me see what was going on with the citizens I don’t know. However, I do know people who work for the local county government who are good people and I don’t fault anyone who works. I never judge where, or comdemn what they do.

          • tinman

Key word is Work! I am real sure you have a lot of friends that work for ACORN including yourself. Caught Ya!

          • eyeswideopen

Tinman, nope with federal funding of only a million, they couldn’t afford me.

  • James Corbin

Obama, said he didn’t know Acorn was receiving federal money! How could he not know? He was their Lawyer! He also donated campaign money
to Acorn. Makes you wonder—-Acorn got votes for Obama. Was it honest? He also said there were more important things to worry about!
Doesn’t seem to worry about our troops in Afghanistan!

    • Jen

Why don’t we just have a presidency vote award for who can fool the American people over the best.

He Didnt know about Acorn receiving monies thats a straight face lie, Acorn was his biggest supporter, Hey the Black panthers were supported by acorn that Holder dismissed, imagine that!

Where have you got the idea Fauxx Noise tells it like it is?
Murdock tells them what to say and they out and out lie.
They lie because they know their followers are non thinking sheeple and they know if they say it often enough they will be believed.
I’ve taped a few of their lies and I review them once in a while.
Even I need a good belly laugh once in a while.

      • Jen

Humm okay well lets ask some Realtors about this organization called Acorn, Money received to educate buyers, Maybe we will see some good video on the kind of counseling that is given to these buyers from a Realtor stand point real soon, Keep watching fox!! they may have this footage soon.

      • DaveH

You just keep telling yourself that, Dee, while your propaganda networks lose more of their viewers. It is easy to pull the wool over your Liberal eyes when you think you will get to feed at the trough. Oink, Oink.

Since I don’t watch the dinosaur media, have they had anything on about what the environmentalists have done in California? Turning off the pumps so there is no irrigation in the San Joaquin Valley. It is turning into a dust bowl all because of a tiny fish. Farmers are going broke. This part of the country supplied a lot of food for us. It was so sad to see the nut trees dying, their leaves all turned brown. There are a lot of issues brought up on Fox News programs that I’ll bet you’ll never see on those “other” channels.

        • James Carey

Shawn Hannity has largely been ignored on that subject. Probably because he is so terribly biased to Republican viewpoints. The situation in California preserving little fish while huge areas of good cropland dry up is appalling. Surely something could be done to save the fish and get water onto that land. They put men on the moon why have all those communities in the valley starve. This doesn’t relate to ACORN though does it. I wonder if anyone watched Megyn Kelly tonight she is back on the air right now (rerun of the earlier broadcast). Wade Rathke is one sleazy dude for sure.

          • JeffH

I live in the Fresno area and it is purely politics by our federal government and the environmentalists and biologists that are ruining the small farmers. The big corporate farms sell off their excess water to Los Angeles for huge profits and let the smaller farms dry up. Produce is at a premium and thousands of farm hands sit in bread lines for hour so they can feed their families.

        • James B

          The smelt conspiracy…

        • Jen

Yea, Talk to the Dem’s Pelosi last week would not allow it to be turned on. The reason they wont turn it on is because their is talk of selling the land to developers and then turning the water back on. The President wont lift a finger, its probably were Palosi got her orders to not sign the bill to turn it on so these people could farm and work and feed their families.. I don’t think this was the change Ca expected, Seems like the good guy is the target now.

          • JeffH

Feinstein and Boxer have done nothing to help this crippled area. They helped out Arizona in 2002 during a water crisis but a SC Senator made a similar proposal for California and Senior Senator Feinstein chastised him for interferring and refused to even consider his proposed emergency legislation

        • Michael J.

American, the buzz on this is that the intention is to starve out the mom and pop farmers there and divert their market share to corporate farming. This trend is happening around the country so that our government can more easily control food content like GMO’s. As for the land itself, it will be turned into a solar farm to create the new green jobs Obama spoke of. In essence, thousands of farm workers will lose their job as farmers while being replaced by the two people it takes to run a solar farm.

      • eyeswideopen

Dee, it is ok, when they have someone super rich( Murdoch) calling the shots, and promoting the repub party, but God forbide if the Dem’s do… It is the hypocrisy that is so disturbing, that I can’t stand.

        • JeffH

George Soros has personaly molded the Democratic platform. He is the leader of the Democratic party, with Obamas full support. They have the same ideas. He backed Hillary befor Obama.

Ruth Fauxx Noise is never wrong – they just out and out lie.
I filmed them when they showed Foley’s mug on their channel – They listed him as a Democrat in Fla.
I don’t bother with their propaganda line any more.
I have a nephew, who done two tours in Iraq. He said the only programs they could watch was Fox. He knew they spewed propaganda to try to keep moral up for the troops. He also resented the fact that they could not choose other stations to listen to.
He also was angry that the Cheney Administration was drumming soldiers our with pre-existing mental problems, taking away their enlistment money and trying to make the soldiers pay for lost equipment.
He said if a brother had his arms blown off in a bomb – how the hey could he carry his guns back. A very good point.
How about some of you other people sharing some truthful insights from some of your family members who fought over there?

      • American Citizen

Do you ever hear of the good things our soldiers are doing over there? We have a son-in-law who was stationed in Uzbekistan for several months. There was an orphanage there that was desperate for help for the children. The soldiers e-mailed their families or got in contact with them somehow and asked for boxes of clothes, toys, foodstuffs for the orphanage. That was one of the best Christmases I ever had was to fill a big box and send it over there. They had a big Christmas party for the orphanage children. I wish I could have been there to see it. Our soldiers in Iraq also do what they can for the civilians, especially the children. They are building good will for us among the Iraqi people. The ordinary citizen there is glad we are there. The killing that is still going on there is not done by us except to take out the “bad guys” who are trying to kill the innocent civilians there.

        • American Citizen

I forgot to say he was stationed in Uzbekistan but working down in Afghanistan building bases. He was in the Army Engineers. He is still working in Kuwait for a civilian company. For a while he worked in the electronic field trying to find Osama. We have never given up on that, contrary to what the left would have you believe.

        • DaveH

It’s nice to hear some positive stuff on this board once in a while. Thanks Citizen.

        • eyeswideopen

American, our soldiers are an example of what is right with this country. They make us proud every single day. It is sad that we haven’t provided them with the best equipment to use in their fight for our safety. That is why I am so mad at Bush, the tax cuts hurt our kids, and for what? So the rich could get richer? A trillion dollars would have gone a long way for the ones who needed it. Thank you for having such patriots as children.

        • http://Yahoo Dee D

          Yes American Citizen
Our troops (male and female) are very special people. I love em all like brothers and sisters. I do resent the way they are treated when they muster out, one way or another.
Each and every one of our veterans from all wars should have all the respect any one can show them. I thank them with small donations when I can.

  • Dave

I think what ACORN is doing with their operation is no less than treason …and should be dealt with accordingly! Obama is prooving himself more and more worthy of the office of President by not sending the funds to ACORN. I’ll bet he is dismayed with their actions. ACORN was his biggest supporters. However, this administration has the entire world watching their every move and they cannot support such criminal actions by ACORN without an absolute Civil War rising up in this country. I suggest that the leaders of ACORN be sought out and publicly hung or shot! I am tired of my hard earned dollars going to this (WORDS REMOVED FOR OFFENSIVE CONTENT)!!

    • eyeswideopen

If you think that is treason, we need to close every company who pads the book, lies on the business expense report, doesn’t pay overtime, commits fraud against the government (you and me), covers up bribery, takes funds for political purposes. Basically there are over 200 known cases of fraud against the government, with the companies who acuire contracts and or subsidies. Dude, you need to get busy and start finding lawyers to handle all these treason cases. lol

  • Jen

Dismayed at their actions or dismayed at being caught?

Obama has nothing to do with their funds being cut, otherwise it would be business as usual for Acorn.

    • James Carey

Right again Jen. He played dumb on live Television, that he didn’t know they were getting that type of funding. Come on people….as the little gecko says!!! He is a GREAT READER of TELEPROMPTERS but there is absolutely no substance whatsoever. He was laughed out of Denmark yesterday. ACORN got him past Hillary in the primaries and then into the White House. He will have to ignore this whole thing to stay in office. Nancy will probably take the fall for this one.

  • David

I’m am independent and didn’t care much for Bush but how can you justify this far left social justice, inexpedience Obama who surrounds himself with communist, with the Bush administration it seems that the left justifies bad behavior with other bad behavior. No matter what happened in the last administration Obama is now the president and is responsible for what is happening now. As for the illegal war, Bush did not start the war, the radical Muslims did they have been at war with us for decades remember Lebanon and the 300 Marines that died, also the USS Cole. This is country founded as Republic Democracy, I swore an oath to the Constitution and willing to die for it. I been to Europe so I suggest that if you who support Obamas Socialist agenda should move there I for one love my country and I don’t want to ruled by the UN.

    • Thurman Marcum

      David,

Bush did indeed start that war.He attack and remove a president of that country and replace it with a regime just as corrupt and dictorial. It was all for nothing.

    • eyeswideopen

David, sweetie, you need to do a little research as we were founded as a Constitutional Republic, that functions as a Liberal Democracy.

We got sidetracked by Cheney and Bush, who did indeed start the war in Iraq. The group that attacked us resided in Afgan. Sadam actually hated Bin Laden, as he was a threat to Sadam’s reign. Our number one and number two, had preconceived ideas, probably some of it was left over from Bush’s daddy who was forbidden to go after Sadam, so when the opportunity presented itself, wahlaa, off we went.

      • David

        That’s a different David…don’t call him sweety

  • Julie

Look, you guys are missing the point. Someone needs to stand up for the people. and the people must stand together to get it done. That IS a union. I worked for gov’t and saw the corruption…the union was the ONLY place to go. Unions give the little people a chance to protect themselves from the crazies…and to be whistleblowers….they are what protect us from corruption. This is not the 1960s, and the mafia is now our government.

    • Rich

What?!?!?!?! Go join a Union that has become just as corrupt and sleazy as the companies they were was meant to defend us from originally. Name a Union that isn’t corrupt to the core in the US, please just one. If you mean to form a new Union then perhaps that could work, but not any of the Unions I am aware of, can claim they are not as corrupt as the government in Washington DC is right now.

    • David

Julie, you are nuts! But you were raised by the unions so it’s not your fault

    • American Citizen

The original purpose of unions was very good, but like those up there in government, they had to keep harassing the companies for more and more to justify their continued existence. They became so powerful they drove companies out of this country or out of existence. Every union needs to be disbanded and start from scratch.

Not a good Business move for are fellow tax payers who now have to pay the price of this great error now created. Not to mention the windows that wont be closed in this new health care although i think most folks are wisen up to all this smooth talkin propaganda. Im a minority realist.

  • Floyd

As author of The Great Time Hawk In The Sky I have always supported a clean environment, population control(we have too many people) and animal rights which includes wildlife. I also am a firm believer in God, Christ, and democracy. I do not believe we need to support organizations that are politically active(left wingers and socialist in particular). Acorn is but one of many organizations that need to be ancient history. All racist organizations like the NAACP and anti-American organizations like the ACLU (who should really be named the UACLU)should be eliminated. Bottom line, our government should only give our tax money to support cleaning up America, supporting wildlife and animal rights, preserving our forest and farm lands and supporting the development of new small businesses and giving research grants to find a cure for the diseases we combat daily. Last but not least prayer should be put back into schools and in government functions. This country was founded by Christian men and women who believed in God. Those who do not agree should relocate in a country that agrees with them. The Australian government is similar to what we use to be before we allowed a bunch of idiot congressmen to cave in to the demands of the few over the desire of the many. Let’s put a lot of new faces in Washington next time around. Perhaps those who survive will then realize that they work for us, not us for them. Thanks, Words Hardee.

    • DaveH

      Floyd,
You must be a lawyer. Animal rights? Don’t we have enough legal chaos already?
I hope that you are a vegan at least. Anyone else would be a very big hypocrite.

        • DaveH

Holy Cow Citizen! Where do you get that stuff? Libertarians want Limited Government. Please read their party platform and get educated:
          http://libertarianparty.org/platform

          • DaveH

By the way, give me some objections to our platform and I would be happy to explain the benefits of what we advocate.

          • eyeswideopen

Dave, I have asked you many times, how do you propose to take us back in time, about 200 years and not have anarchy? If there are no controls on the free market, what would prevent monopolies from controlling the whole damn thing? Isn’t it true that a truly free capitalist market place would end up with a few monopolies which would cause the system to implode upon itself, as no one could afford to purchase items. The rich would only be able to afford food, and they would also be the only ones to have security, as chaos would reign. We wouldn’t have the police, as government wouldn’t have money for that, it would have been cut to the bone while making government as small as the 1800′s. No money even for traffic lites or their maintence, no working highways, etc. but the rich would live in little communities and be afforded all the luxuries that the majority wouldn’t have access too. Give me a scenario of what would happen to edlerly who are on Medicare? With no government to take care of them, what would happen? Just exactly how does your group plan on cutting government services, who will have access to services left, and what kind of time frame would be required?

  • DaveH

George Soros, currency trader, 29th richest person in the world (net worth about $11 Billion) according to Forbes. Why doesn’t someone like him give most of his money away to the starving citizens? As Liberals on this board have stated – nobody needs more than 5 Million dollars to live a comfortable life. What is his real angle when he donates heavily to Liberal causes? Does he intend to profit from the misery of those who will see their paltry savings decimated when our dollar declines dramatically in value? What does a currency trader produce? Not much.
They may contribute to stability in the currency markets. But they don’t produce any goods or services for mankind. And is he really so deluded to believe that the Liberal Socialists won’t turn on him once they gain absolute power?
Oh yeah he has given $6 Billion to charity since 1979. Let’s see, if he was making only a 5% return on investment (easy to do) on his $11 Billion that would be $550 Million a year. Multiply that by 30 (years) and you get $16.5 Billion dollars (I’m not even considering the tax deductibility of his donations). So just his profits on his net worth would be handily more than his so-called generous contributions.
I’m sure that Eyes will take off her green-colored glasses to defend this guy.

    • eyeswideopen

Dave, Sheldon Adelson the third richest man in America, according to Forbes in 2007, 2008 whose net worth was 26.5 Billion, happens to hate Obama, and is funneling vast amounts of money into the Republican GOP.Why didn’t you mention him? Why don’t the rich give money to the poor? You just asked the million dollar question didn’t you? The economic problems of the middle class are due to the corporate companies not raising the salaries enough to allow the aveage middle class person to keep their heads above water. This country believes in socialism for corporate America, and capitalism for the poor. Take a look at the increase in salaries for the worker vs the CEO’s. Hell just look at the increase in insurance premiums for ten years, they went up 131% while salaries only went up 38%. Yes, your free market private companies are getting richer on the backs of the hard working 95% of the population.

      • eyeswideopen

Dave read this link and you will see that the CEO’s salaries are 500 times what the “worker” salaries are. yes, there is something wrong with that, and if you think this country can continue to take away the decent living that the middle class is striving for, then you will see the demise of the America that we grew up in.

Anyway, read my following comment. And please take off your green-colored glasses. We only lose when we tear others down. Of course, I make an exception for companies that use force on their customers. I know of only one – Big Government.

      • DaveH

I don’t know about you but I depend on those companies to make a living. The only CEOs that I would denigrate are those that are using the government to force their way on others.
Due to my long-standing illness, I can’t withstand the repercussions of the inevitable stress that would come with running my own business, especially since I would have a silent partner with no skin-in-the-game interfering with my business choices. Not only does the government have no money invested in our businesses, they are even taking money away from the businesses, yet they insist on micromanaging things.
I am very grateful that those Rich people give me a chance to earn money and make a decent living.
The Democrats are the party of Force. They are quick to jump on any laws or bills that will constrain the citizens further.

        • eyeswideopen

Dave, nope you are wrong, the Dem’s are trying to reign in the companies who are monopolies, the ones who prevent us from having choices. You are denying that their are many CEO’s who are making 25 million a year in salaries? Do you not read? Hell, the minons at AIG were getting million dollar bonus’ and they weren’t even upper level managers. Get real.

Can you please provide me with the link that explains that Adleson hates Obama? I see that he has contributed a bunch to the Republicans, although he is not mentioned as anti-American as George Soros is, which is all over the internet and easy to research.
I have searched high and low and can’t find anything that remotely mentions Adleson’s hate for Obama.
You wouldn’t make this up because of my mention of the Obama-Soros link up would you? That might be construed as a lie, then what would people think. I certainly hope not!

        • JeffH

I ill anxiously await your reply.

  • DaveH

By the way, I don’t envy George Soros’ wealth. My beef with George is that he is contributing to those Socialists who are taking the hard earned money and freedom of people who are struggling to achieve a moderate lifestyle.
Rich people can only enjoy their money if they spend it. When they spend it they buy goods and services that other citizens have provided and thus we all prosper.
The main contributor to a prosperous society is the amount of productive effort (work) that is created by the citizens. What makes citizens work harder? Do they work harder when they are given free money? Do they work harder when their savings are decimated by bad monetary policies? Do they work harder when a lion’s share of their savings are confiscated by Big Government through taxes? Do they work harder when government bullies are forcing them to do things they don’t want to do? If productivity could be forced wouldn’t the USSR have been a rich nation?

    • JeffH

George Soros and his “charitable contributions” has created a web of deceit and manipulatin. He has molded the Democratic party with his unscrupulous support and donations. He is the real BOSS MAN for the Democrats. His undying support for Hillary Clinton moved on to Obama after the nomination was declared. He is Anti-American in every way, shape and form. Does not believe in our Constitution and supports terrorism against America. He loves Obamas ideals because they mirror his own.
quote: On the political front, Soros has a great influence in a secretive organization called “Democracy Alliance” whose idea of democracy seems to be government controlled solely of Democrats.
Do people know last year’s Supreme Court ruling abolishing special military commissions for terrorists at Guantanamo was a Soros project? OSI gave support to Georgetown lawyers in 2006 to win Hamdan v. Rumsfeld — for the terrorists.

But honestly, how can one man be allowed to wield so much political power? A man we know almost nothing about?

(Except that he helped the Nazis in his youth and is a wanted criminal in France.)

Where are our investigative reporters? Where is our watchdog media?

      In Mr. Soros’s pocket?

Jeff, here’s the repubs answer to Soros, His name is Sheldon Adelson and he is the third richest American who happens to hate Obama. Enjoy your reading. lol

        • JeffH

Obviously a rich and evil man with the desire to be controlling also for his own benefeit.
Therin lies the differance between the two, Soros goal is to destroy a free America wherin Adelson wants to keep the war in Iraq going and hates the Palestinians. He is a bad man, but he doesn’t control the Republican party! Soros is jewish, but hates them and uses them and he does control the Democrats and Obama. Soros seem to be quite a bit smarter than Adleson when it comes to putting the buck in the right place.

          • eyeswideopen

            Jeff,

so funny, that you can always justify your “bad” guy, as theirs(the Dem’s) is always MORE BAD. Funny, but hypocritical to say the least. The point should be that the rich are running this country and it needs to stop. Both ideologies are being promoted by two rich individuals, so you want us to pick your “bad guy” over the other one? Makes no sense and certainly isn’t fair to any of us.

          • JeffH

Anyone that is a threat to my freedom and the freedom of America is my enemy and is at the top of my list. You couldn’t understand that because you are blinded by your hatred of the Republicans and Bush.

          • DaveH

            Ditto.

          • eyeswideopen

Jeff, just like you are blinded by your hate for Obama, so i guess we are the same aren’t we??

          • JeffH

OHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAYYYYYYYY are we anything alike. I don’t hate Obama, I hate what he represents. You just hate Bush so much that your comments are old and stale and written with your eyes shut!
That is known as blind hatred.

        • JeffH

No where in the article does it say or indicate that Aldeson hates Obama. You are fibbing again.

    • eyeswideopen

Dave, they have proven that your trickle down theory does not work, and hasn’t worked in the past 25 years. Come on down off the mountain. It worked back in the 50′s and 60′s but slowed down to a tiny trickle during the 70′s. You need to check the link I previously gave you.

      • DaveH

Why can you use the bullcrap phrase ‘trickle down’ but Sarah Palin can’t use the phrase ‘death panels’?

        • eyeswideopen

Dave, lmao, you don’t see any difference in trying to scare our elderly into objecting about their socialist government run healthcare that they like and making a comment about the trickle down economics that haven’t worked? If you don’t see any difference, why waste my time explaining to you? Just keep repeating over and over again, that the Libertarians have the answer. How do they propose to get us to the platform you recommend? Monoplies are running this country now, gee, without any regulations wouldn’t anarchy be the rule? It doesn’t appear that your party has gotten enough members to run on their own ticket, is that why your candidates always run on the Republican ticket? Wonder if the Repubs realize that those libertarian votes were not counted in the repub column, which probably helped defeat their own candidate. Yep, a democrat would give you information about the Democracy Allicance group to help you make your case.. you are not using your brain. Must be pissed off that the citizens are figuring out that trickle down economic doesn’t work for us ugh?

        • eyeswideopen

Dave, so sorry, nobody told me the new talking point word was “trickle down”. Who knew you would be so offened by such phrase. LOL.

    • American Citizen

Have you ever noticed that those who want to control us have already made their millions and billions? They are destroying the means by which we can all attain the “good life”. I wonder how many of them have their money in offshore accounts that the Feds are going after?

      • DaveH

        Citizen,
I think you have hit on something there. Have you ever noticed family or friends that work extra hard to prevent those close to them from becoming more successful? Usually the methods are very subtle, such as convincing you to keep up with the joneses instead of maybe investing your money for the future.
I believe a lot of rich people don’t want too many in their ranks. Another possibility, especially for Corporate Officers, is that unregulated competition might knock them off their lofty perches, or at least make it harder for them to stay there.

        • eyeswideopen

We already have unregulated competition, it is only making the rich, richer, and the poor, poorer. Odd that when we had regulations for the banking industry, Glass- Steagall Act, that we did just fine for 76 years. We even did fine when the richest had to pay a higher tax. The perfect storm was banking de-regulation and trillion dollar tax cuts for the wealthy. We are living with the results of those bad decisions. Ask the Congress who voted for the deregulation, if they would do it again, bet they would all say no.

  • http://www.DonCanter.net Don

In 2010 we need to lose Reid, Pelosi, Frank, Dodd and so many of the other idiots who want to take our hard earned money and give it to people who have no desire to work. Pelosi is such an idiot that she has suggested the retirees pay a tax for earnings in retirement accounts to make sure that the government can give money to illegals. Anything they can dream up to let our tax dollars buy votes to keep them in power so they can live like kings and queens on the backs of the working class who have paid taxes all of their working lives. Obamacare is another attempt to blead us and is CAP and TRADE. Wait until you see your heating and coolng cost when that is put in effect. Also, enjoy the penalties you will pay when you drive more miles each week than Obama thinks you should. This group is strictly a group of communist wanta-bes and if they get their way we will be living under a communist dictatorship. Notice who he buddies up to and look into his background and then most of you DEMONcRATS might wakeup. I was born and raised a democrat but had the good sense to see what a stupid group of leaders they all were. I was the first member of my family to see the light. I agree George W. made some mistakes but at least he kept us safe after 9-11 which would never have occurred if Clinton would have taken out Osama instead of a cigar. He had been give plenty of intelligence as to where he was but chasing Monica was a much more pressing agenda.

It doesn’t give us much confidence that they have the integrity that is needed when dealing with our futures. What happened to those Republicans who clammered for impeachment for other sexual misconduct issues? If Ensign and Vitter had only just been guilty of sexual misdeeds, but no, each of them had to break the law and violate the ethics code of the Senate. • Voice of Reason

The deception and misinformation written by this Chip Wood is ghastly smearing tactics and unethical reporting. First off, I’m not defending Acorn by any means. What I am defending is honest or at least credible journalism, which this is not. However, I attempted to find anything objective about Mr. Wood’s article, but I cannot. Still, Wood is correct on one thing that Acorn has received $53 million since 1994 so do the math, approximately $3.5 million a year from the Federal Government. But oh please, Wood is claiming that $8.5 billion of Stimulus money was to go to Acorn, and I believe it was Beck or Hannity had that sum over $9 billion of Federal money. All claims are simply ridiculous and outrageous fabrications of the truth. In fact, I don’t know where to begin and end with this article of drivel and duplicity that Mr. Wood has concocted as pure propaganda. But I can share the truth of why Acorn is so important to the Republicans because it wasn’t important to the average person given the real story. However, this has unfortunately take-on an almost sadistic right-wing movement with those types of folks that are now just radicals. They are so fanatical with Acorn that they do not understand they’re doing the dirty work of the GOP. Many folks are being manipulated and deceived about the truth. Hopefully, some of this information can shed some light on what is valid and hopefully make folks think deep about the reality of politics today. Because there is this noise of distortions being levied with falsehoods behind the GOP machine, and I truly hope this doesn’t get me silenced forever from this site like Red State has done for speaking out on behave of the truth. In addition, I’m not so blind to see that is certainly some of the same shenanigan occurring on the other side, but nothing to this level that is happening by the GOP. Anyway, another no surprise Book is out by another Republican gone rogue so to speak with yet another Tell All Book. And I’m not speaking about the ghost writer that has written Palin’s book, but still, I can only image given this ghost author’s previous books that it will be filled with more hate mongering towards Democrats. No, this new book I am referring about is by David Iglesias, the former US Attorney for the District of New Mexico that was appointed and confirmed in 2001 but fired in 2006. It is Iglesias’ claim that Karl Rove fired him because he didn’t carry out instructions to prosecute Acorn. During Iglesias’ tenure, the GOP instructed Iglesias to seek indictments of voter fraud in New Mexico to be completed before the next national elections. However, in 2004 after reviewing the cases and the FBI reports going back as far as 2002, Iglesias concluded that there was nothing to prosecute, which had no little matter to the GOP or Karl Rove. In interviews, Iglesias describes in detail how the GOP used the justice department to enlist U.S. attorneys to participate in activities that will benefit a political party at the polls. Since Acorn is the largest Activist group in the country that strongly supports and votes Democrat. Well, you don’t need to be a mental giant to figure why the Republicans went after Acorn. Yet, Iglesias stated on the Racheal Maddow show that was the single reason for pursuing Acorn. That’s why, now you see the far right-wing shows like Fox cable with the likes of Beck, Hannity, O’Reilly, as well as off the scale right-wingers on AM radio shows, or websites like this one, a Fox contributor, stoking the fire by pick up after the story with only to carry it on to newer and more preposterous heights for political pretentiousness. It now makes sense why the GOP with the help of Fox cable news shows are honing in and are ready to gun down the next innocent group like SEIU, the largest union in the USA because it also is a strong supporter of Democrats. People of SEIU are folks like nurses, restaurant workers etc. It’s pure political propaganda agenda set by Republicans hiding behind the right-wing media to get their constituents fired up, but this is most certainly a need to defame the Democratic Party and slow the growing popularity of it. In addition, we can’t forget the conspiracy theorist like Beck or Limbaugh desperately attempting to tie Obama in on all of these bogus story lines somehow or someway. More evidence can be seen on how to politicized phony news as headline talking points for political gain. Interesting, how R-MN Gov. Pawlety and R-LA Gov. Jindal have both issued statewide orders to stop all and any funding to Acorn. However, the big problem or really not problem for any state for that matter is that no state in the union has ever provided subsidies to Acorn. But kudos to Gov. Jindal by one-upping Gov. Pawlety, Jindal made his order an executive order while Pawlety only made his a statewide memo. Still, my favorite is this R-LA Sen. Vitter taking the lead and waving this outrage torch of anger about Acorn and the prostitution ring that was exposed. Remember that the Acorn prostitution ring was entirely a sham, it wasn’t for real, but Vitter’s ring of prostitution was for real. I comprehend that I’m being harsh on the conservatives, but that is the problem that I see with the current GOP that is no longer the conservative party. Not at least as I understand it from figures like Edmund Burke or more modern types as Russell Kirk. This party has changed. Anyway, I do like a comment Iglesias made describing how he felt being a Republican and working for the Bush administration. Despite Iglesias’ Star Wars reference I believe that it is true about the Republican Party of today. Iglesias states, “Yes, and to use a Star Wars of imagery, I thought I was working with the Jedi Knights, but I was working for the Sith Lords.”

      • Voice of Reason

Eyes, I’ve been around, but don’t often respond. I probably need to take some instructions from you because your replies are so often considerate of others. Anyway, I did get a bit passionate about this misinformation for political gain because of my two very conservative friends who know that the information is skewed out there, but really don’t care. It’s all about slamming Obama and any Democrat, which is something I don’t understand.

    • JeffH

Your voice of not! 8 billion + of stimulus money has been scheduled for ACORN for 2010-2011, that is 3.3 bil/2010 and 5.5 bil for 2011. You can easily find it if you had your eyes wide open. I guess the videos that were shown on FOX were doctored and a bunch of lies. ACORN has finally been exposed, without question, but because FOX and associates exposed them, and the fact that you hate Beck, makes it all a conspiricy.
Do you think ACORN should lose their Federal funding based on what has transpired throug the FOX media? The fact that Obama has very strong ties to ACORN, is that also a Repulican falsehood. The witch hunt is done by both sides, so do not think for one moment that it is one sided!
The left media supports Obama/Democrats and ridicules and plays down anything good the right might do and Fox plays up and reports what the lef media will not. Obama is bad for America because of his idealistic platform and also the fact that anti-American Soros has the Dems in his hip pocket. Obama is the Soros puppet!

      • DaveH

        Jeff,
I am a gambling man, but with the odds, not against them. My bet is that Eyes is and always has been a Liberal Democrat. Since I haven’t met many Dems that tell the truth, her denials don’t hold much water with me.

        • JeffH

I pegged that one on the very first post I ever participated on. She is quick with the Obama defense, which is blame Bush for anything and everything. I have mentioned too many times that Soros is anti-American and runs the Democrats and Obama, but she always brings up Adleson, a big Republican billionaire donar that is not anti-American as a comparison. This gal has some real serious issues or she is just plain nuts!

          • JeffH

I might add the eyes has made comparisons of the NRA and ACORN. Makes no sense to someone sensible.

          • eyeswideopen

You just can’t take it when anyone calls you on your crap. I only just gave you the info on Adelson, and earlier, I gave you the Democracy Alliance to use against the Dems. You are having an emotional problem. You used to discuss and research not looking to hang one party, but now you are a hater, so sad to watch.

      • Voice of Reason

Jeff, I really don’t what to let you down for your need to hate anything Dem by taking away your outlet (Fox) for hate. But here is a bit of reality check that may upset you even more. Note that it is not my intent to further enrage you, but some of the MSNBC shows spend large segments of time on their shows correcting misinformation on Fox cable shows. They literally make a living at it, and in fact, many on MSNBC call out Fox reporters by name and specific reporting. These folks literally egg Fox news reporters for a fight, but of course, these guys on Fox will never respond to MSNBC shows because they can’t. Because these Fox personalities can not risk folks like you watching their show for the truth may expose them for what they are – phonies… Anyway, below is an email from a Fox viewer with a question to FactCheck.org with confusion about Fox’s Acorn accusations. Note that FactCheck.org is a nonpartisan group that caters to students and teachers about the facts that includes fact and fiction on both sides. You will note that $5.2 billion of grants is and was available to groups that qualified under the stimulus package. I guess that I need to point out that out because not all the money goes to one group but hundreds of groups applying for that grant, which may or may not get some or any monies. Truly, I hope you don’t respond to me because I will not waste any further time responding to you. Take it for what it is… Here is another food for thought to you about the Fox News organization. If Fox is so fair and balance why do they sponsor these one sided Tea Parties, which now a news organization is some what creating the news than reporting on it? But unfortunately for Fox, they became the news recently with a Fox producer shown stoking the crowd before going on air! Now that is fair and balanced right?

Foxes and ACORNs question by Fox viewer:

Tonight (Sept 21) on this Great-great-great-all-American-Panel, Sean Hannity and one of his panel members said repeatedly that ACORN was in line to get 8.5 billion dollars of stimulus money. The lone Democrat (forgot his name) protested this was not true but as usual Hannity drowned him out and used the Fox tactic of taking the sound and camera off of the Democrat so Sean and his Republican cohorts could get their viewpoint presented to the public. From what I understand the 8.5 billion figure is grossly exaggerated and has no basis in fact. Who is correct and what is the amount?
I think the things that Fox (or any network) passes on to its listeners should be subject to challenge by FactCheck when they erroneously provide false information (actually I feel most of the time they knowingly pass on information they know is false … because they know their listeners will believe it).

Thank you for the service you provide.

        Charles Harvell
        Woodland Park, Colo.

FactCheck.org responds: Media criticism is for the most part beyond our purview. But it’s true that $8.5 billion is a significant inflation from the $5.2 billion claim about ACORN that we addressed back in February. Even then, as we wrote, that was grant money ACORN would be eligible to compete for, along with hundreds of other groups — not money it would be guaranteed to receive by the stimulus legislation.

        • eyeswideopen

Clapping out loud. They think the word compete means guaranteed. Probably because so many private companies receive guaranteed subsidies.

        • JeffH

I stand corrected that ACORN would compete for the billions.
I guess they will compete no more.

          • eyeswideopen

and that’s the way it should be.

          • jabo j

Some, or maybe all, FOX News haters don’t seem to realize that ACORN would still be abusing the system, if not for FOX. And Van Jones would still be in the whitehouse pushing his communist agenda, if not for FOX. I know FOX exaggerates sometimes, but the biggest liars are at MSNBC, CNN and whatever the name of the network that Charlie Gibson is on.. People should give credit where credit is due, whether they like the individual or not.

Commentator: “The President of the United States never said that”
Was he intentionally saying “the President” because Obama made that quote before he was president? Who knows.
At approximately 3 minutes and 39 seconds the commentator makes a seemingly odd statement “Oh yeah, 3 years ago? OK”. You might wonder where that came from. Was his producer saying in his earpiece “she is right”?
And this is the kind of objective journalism the Liberals are listening to?
Sickening. My heart goes out to this poor lady.

His arguments are complete crap. He goes to extremes trying to make a young nervous lady look bad. The idea that she should be willing to take away her parents Medicare benefits is completely fallacious. What would those same elite Liberals say about an insurance company that behaved that way?
People Katy’s age know nothing about Medicare, why should they?

Hi I hope they keep on chopping Accorn until they are no longer aloud to keep on taking our hard earned tax dollars. I say good for you the two that helped expose them. Good work!!

  • Becky

Yes I agree with others on here. I bet if someone could investigate the President they would find so many things that he has done. Not only with Acorn but tons of other illegal things. I was a democrat but no anymore. I will have to say thou I didn’t vote for him and am so glad to be able to say that. He won’t be happy until he has every penny that we all earn. Everything that the U S Goverment has there hands in is BROKE. The Postal Service, Medicare, Medicaid and then they wonder why we don’t want them to handle and our health care. I just wish that there was a way that we Americans could have alot of those Senators and Congress people investigated? There should be a way remember THEY WORK FOR US!

  • David Hall

It doesn’t matter if they close Acorn completely down. They will just,
turn around and open back up, under a different name. The man who
founded Acorn, basically said that. Then what?

  • http://www.personalliberty.com Gary Callaghan

Listen up!!. I am thoroughly disgusted with all Politicians. Especially the likes of Pelosi, Reid, Biden, Obama, the Black caucus. All of these people are socialists at best and communists and fascists at worse. In any event we need to purge congress and the Senate of these anti-american, anti-capitalists. America cannot be free under government control. Obama is taking over our car companies our banks and wants to take over our healthcare. People wake up and smell the roses. Those of you democrats and independents who voted for this guy need to wake up and vote out the liberals. Liberals or so called “progressives” are nothing more than socialists and fascists. Look up your history and look back to the early 20th century. The only politicians is office were progressives. Teddy Roosevelt was a progressive who called himself a republican. FDR was a fascist and history points this out. He was great friends with Mussolini and liked his style of leadership(nationalism) The government controlled all facets of human life. That’s right you liberals. Your progressive party ran away from fascism because of its’ connection with Adolph Hitler. Up to the FDR administration “progressives” were in 2 camps. That of RED socialism or Marxism and that of fascism. fascism is a liberal movement not a conservative one. You liberals are to brain dead to even know that. As far as getting rid of Republicans I would start with Olympia Snowe. She is a rino and sides with liberals most of the tiem. Collins is another one. There are more I would like to see voted out of office, however I feel that if all 435 congressman and all 100 Senators lost their jobs, I would not feel badly about it. This president is not a president of the U.S. He is a Comrade, a Premier, a marxist, a communist or a fascist. Then again he might be a king. Any or all titles fit Barack Husein Obama. Oh, he is not a Christian either. Let’s try Muslim.

    • David Hall

      I AGREE!

    • eyeswideopen

Oh Lord Gary where do we go to sign up for your kingdom? LMAO, I say you are not a Christian, so there my king. King of goofie.

      • ccg

Woe, Eyes, who made you God to decide who is a Christian and who is not?

        • eyeswideopen

Why CCG, didn’t you read that Gary, decided that Obama wasn’t a Christian, so I just did the same thing and decided that Gary, wasn’t a Christian either. Oh , do you have a problem with someone else other than Gary deciding who is a Christian? No, say it isn’t sooooo!!

  • Ron Allen

We need all of these efforts to be intensitied to the nth degree, no matter what party! We need the gutless mainstream t.v. stations to report more of these findings and OPENLY take the intitiatives to do so–not just because of the fact they must do so because it would look bad for them NOT to report it!! No ‘spin’, just the news. I don’t buy newspapers anymore as I don’t trust much of the media as far as I can throw them!! Ron A.

  • feiniulacht

WOW, I guess this is a hot topic for some, it’s too bad that egos are bumping each other. It seem’s that forums like this will bring out liberals (some might be congress persons or people with too much time on their hand) from their hidding place, and all they do is steer up BS and try to discourage other from participating in the descussion by bully talking them down or dragging out their BS stories to where other participants get tired of liberal rantings. I find it hard at times talking to people or reading their blogs, who I think are scumbags, who spread liberal propaganda and try to mislead people who could care less of liberal points of view. If you are in the tank for Obossco, then good for you, so why don’t you liberal lovers find a liberal blog so you can get along with like minded people and let the rest of us conservatives converse with like minded people. However, I have a great idea, why not divid America into two countries (divid straight up the middle from south to north) and build a wall to keep them separated and put conservatives on one side and liberal, acorn aclu, illegal aliens, and gays on the other side and see which side prospers. Oh yea, and elect a president for the conservative side and have Obossco rule the liberal side, which would be the east cost side.

    • eyeswideopen

Hey, don’t stick us with all the rednecks in the south to deal with. That would not be fair. However you can move them all to Texas, Az and live happily ever after with Palin as your Pres.

      • David Hall

Eyes, my heart swells with Southern Pride! when I see, you and others
write that, REDNECKS FROM THE SOUTH! you got it Bubba. Write it again!

        • keith

they sure would’nt be comfortable thats for sure, thanks for the compliment, were glad you know we arn’t like you!

      • Palin12

I would be proud to have Sarah Palin as my President. Let’s bring back a little common sense to Washington. During the current recession, only one state was not in recession: Alaska. I am happy to see her book hit #1 at B&N and Amazon, far outpacing Chappaquidick Teddy’s book.

        • keith

you just made some librals head explode!that was TO much TRUTH for their tiny mushed brains to handle!

        • eyeswideopen

You need to check the amount of stimilus that Alaska got.

  • Betty Lemke

Acorn should be dis-banned. It is only one of the sink holes in our government that is bleeding the tax payers to death. The solution to Americas problems is to get rid of the greed in government, Send the law breaking illegals back. They are killing our economy. have the people take controle & turn our government around to it’s original,
One Nation Under God, For the People & By the People. Bring God back & oust our present Washington lunies that are selling our country out. Stand up America before it is to late.Keep America free.

  • keith

ah,there are those rare moments when you hear some news that just makes your day and nothing can break your good mood, hearing that acorn got nailed was one of them!

    • keith

if comrad obomass was half a american he would give those two young people awards for being good citizens, why has’nt he praised them?i mean he uh uh uh uh well uh i uh don’t uh uh uh know them uh uh and uh uh don’t uh have uh any uh uh ties uh with uh uh them, etc etc,why don’t he award them, they damn well deserve the HIGHEST civilian award we can give them!

RNC chairman) Steele applauded ACORN leader in speech

    Mon Oct 05th 2009, 04:39 PM
    Source: CNN

Appearing September 21 at a historically black college in Arkansas, the RNC chairman spoke diplomatically of the group and its history of organizing in low-income communities.

“The organization has a problem that it needs to deal with,” Steele told the audience in remarks that were recorded and posted on YouTube over the weekend. “I will say that current head of the organization, she has done a phenomenal job of getting out in front of it. I applaud her. I take her at her word that she wants to make sure that the bad apples are thrown out.”

Steele reminded the crowd that ACORN has “been around a long time.”

“Now, I’m not a big fan of ACORN for a whole lot of reasons because of my own dealings with some of their folks over the years,” he continued. “But I do respect that it has a history of working the community and helping the poor. That unfortunately has been tainted in such a way that it now casts doubt on the entire organization.”

Steele said he hopes ACORN’s problems “can get rectified” but said the group will have to live with “the stigma of the bad acts” that have grabbed headlines.

“So we’ll see how this plays out,” he said.

But three days later, in his statement calling on Democrats to investigate the group, Steele seemed to have made up his mind about the group’s future. ACORN, he said, “should never be allowed near another voter registration effort again.”

    UTTERLY AMAZING!

    David Hall and keith

Yeah I was in the Air Force.
I also think we should leave military matters to the military, under civilion authority, just like the “founding fathers” knew it had to be.

  • keith

    forrest was dah man!

  • James Corbin

Speaking of sex scandels—-Should have taken a lesson from Bill Clenton. As far as Bush, he only went by what information he was receiving and he did not go to war by himself. Democrats went along with him!!!

  • KC Donovan

Hi Chip: Any new information on your comment made last month about how ACORN stands to receive a whopping $8.5 billion in stimulus funds? I was wondering if this acorn was squashed or if it got away with its devious practices!
    KC

  • jeronimo chavez

    Hi Chip:

you know how much Obama relies on ACORN(criminals) type of friens to get what he wants.
I would not be surpised if he sets up another Oraganization, with diferent name, but with the same people and filters billions of the stimulus money to them.

You have to keep en eye on him.

He will not hesitate to use all his power to make sure that happens.

These kind of people never play by the rules.

    • bob johnessee

will Acorn get $5.2 Billion dollars of the Federal stimulus money Bob Johnessee
