Obamacare’s Other Victims

On Tuesday, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Obamacare) finally admitted what everyone outside the Federally-funded “navigators” already knew. It doesn’t matter if you like your plan or not.

If President Barack Obama doesn’t like it, you don’t get to keep it. Indeed, he knew all along that Obama’s top selling point was an outright fraud. “We knew that there would be some policies that would not qualify and therefore people would be required to get more extensive coverage…” But even in the face of such an admission by a member of the inner circle of Big Barry himself, most Democrats denied Obama’s latest disgrace like a mob lawyer making an alibi for a Genovese capo.

Among the poor souls forced to shill for Obama’s supreme scam: a woman named Tara McGuiness. McGuiness’s Twitter bio identifies her as a Senior Communications Advisor for the White House. It also includes the tag line “all health care all the time.” In layman’s terms, McGuiness is a mouthpiece whose sole reason for existence — other than feeding what I’ll bet is more than one cat — is to provide cover for Obamacare.

tara

Were it not for the fact that she took the job and continues to perform the duties entailed, I might feel a little bad for McGuiness and the rest of her lower-to-mid-level Obama stooges. After all, she was back on Twitter Tuesday afternoon, cheering Obamacare as if Hoyer had not just admitted that Obama knew from the jump that he had been lying all along. Among the “facts” proffered by Ms. McGuiness — all of which would remain meaningless even if Hoyer had not obviated them by admitting to Obama’s chicanery — was this bit of Twitter twaddle: “saying that millions. .are getting ‘cancellation notices’ / ‘losing their coverage’ is deeply misleading.” McGuiness included a link to a “report” from the far-left-wing hate speech site Talking Points Memo. Ultimately, McGuiness attempted to bolster the Democrats’ fraud by citing the Democrats. Of course, it’s already matter of record that Obamacare has pushed millions out of their insurance plans.

And in a twist worthy only of the Democrats, she called her boss a liar. Included in McGuiness’s Twitter feed was this nugget, which also appeared on the official White House feed: “FACT: 43 % of people with individual market insurance have a pre-ex condition (they are likely to be charged today).” Er, far be it for me to correct as unimpeachable a source as the Obama White House, but if those 43 percent already have “individual market insurance” and a “pre-ex condition,” then what the hell did they need Obamacare for, exactly?

McGuiness is hardly alone in her disgrace. From the widely-reviled – not to mention Obamacare-exempt — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to inexplicably tax-exempt hate group Generaloberst Jim Messina, the Democrats have continued to make excuses for Obamacare despite the now-indubitable revelation that every promise Obama made regarding his “signature accomplishment” is an outright lie. It’s almost as if they just filter out reality. Actually, given the suspension of higher thought required to cling to Obamacare at this point, perhaps it helps them sleep at night.

BETRAYED: Democrats now admit they knew all along that millions would lose their existing health plans…

The degree of betrayal found in the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is finally coming to the surface… and it’s intense.

As a top Democrat admitted today, the Democrats knew all along that Obamacare would cause millions to lose health care coverage. Yet they continued to promote it with premeditated lies such as, “You can keep your current health plan if you like it” and “your health insurance costs will be lower than a phone bill.”

“We knew that there would be some policies that would not qualify and therefore people would [lose their existing coverage],” said House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer in a NationalReview.com article.

National Review goes on to report this astonishing exchange:

Asked by another reporter how repeated statements by Obama to the contrary weren’t “misleading,” Hoyer said

“I don’t think the message was wrong. I think the message was accurate. It was not precise enough…[it] should have been caveated with — ‘assuming you have a policy that in fact does do what the bill is designed to do.'”

In other words, lying to the public is not “wrong.” It’s accurate but not precise!

This is how Democrats think, of course: lie to the public to gain their contrived support, and then when things go wrong, shove a gun in everyone’s face to force them to comply with their Big Government mandates. That’s the entire plan of Obamacare and most socialists: obedience at gunpoint. Mao would have been proud to call Obamacare his own.

Obama administration also knew that “millions could not keep their health insurance…

The ACA text specifically allows previously written health insurance plans to be “grandfathered” when the new requirements come into effect. It did not require them to be kept in effect, so the insurance companies were able to cancel any policy they didn’t want to keep going. It’s the insurance companies who are responsible, not the ACA.

      • Jeff

Identify one policy Obama has ordered cancelled. If insurance companies cancel poor policies because there are better ones available (more coverage, lower deductible, whatever), how is that not a good thing? And I suppose you don’t favor the elimination of pre-existing conditions as an exclusionary factor? Remember, your insurance company may consider stupidity and/or insanity a pre-existing condition.

        • vicki

          Jeff writes:

“If insurance companies cancel poor policies because there are better ones available (more coverage, lower deductible, whatever), how is that not a good thing?”

Missing elements. Lower deductible, lower premium.

        • Robert Messmer

So you are saying that Florida Blue (Blue Cross, Blue Shield) issued 300,000 “poor” policies in Florida. And now out of the goodness of their heart, cancelled said policies so their customers can get better policies and at lower prices. So when you go shopping at Sears, they tell you to go to WalMart to get better products at cheaper prices? Sorry but business doesn’t work that way.

Healthcare.gov crashes just as Sebelius testifies ‘the website never crashed’,,,

When you are an embattled Washington bureaucrat, it seems like the whole world is against you. That’s very likely how Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius felt this morning.

Hauled up to Capitol Hill to answer a myriad of questions about why, after spending years in development at a cost of several hundred million taxpayer dollars, did the federal government’sHealthcare.gov website crash on launch, Sebelius said:

“The website never crashed. It is functional, but at a very slow speed and very low reliability.”

Hmmm. Well, we’re used to just about everybody in the Obama administration lying to us, but this time it’s actually comical. Because just minutes before Sebelius arrived to testify, guess what happened?

The site crashed. It crashed, and then stayed crashed.

    As reported by Breitbart News:

Spot checks verified that the State of North Carolina, Virginia, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, New York, Maryland, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Kentucky, Minnesota, and New Hampshire are all down – which likely means the entire federal site is down.

And a half-hour into Sebelius’ testimony, the site remained down.

Obamacare could be ruled illegal in 36 states, federal judge allows lawsuit to move forward…

Supporters of Obamacare, including the president himself, say that once the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the law’s individual mandate wasn’t a mandate at all, but a tax, and therefore lawful under the Constitution, that was the end of it.

The Affordable Care Act indeed survived its legal challenge, despite Chief Justice John Robert’s bit of creative writing to make the law “constitutional.” But that doesn’t mean it is a matter of settled law.

At least, that’s the way one federal judge sees it. As reported by Britain’s Daily Mail:

The Affordable Care Act forbids the federal government from enforcing the law in any state that opted out of setting up its own health care exchange, according to a group of small businesses whose lawsuit got a key hearing Monday in federal court.

The Obama administration, according to their lawsuit, has ignored that language in the law, enforcing all of its provisions even in states where the federal government is operating the insurance marketplaces on the error-plagued Healthcare.gov website.

Oops! Guess Obama and his minions didn’t quite think of everything…

As Scalia said of nutcase Roberts, “he re-wrote the law for them & signed off on it as Constitutional”….UNCONSCIONABLE!!! & there is no recourse!!

    • vicki

If it is a tax then it is unconstitutional because it was initiated in the Senate and not the House as required by the Constitution.

    • Jeff

Undoubtedly, those are the very states that need the law the most like Texas. Were it not for the fact I believe the uninsured in those states are entitled to healthcare, I’d say “good riddance.”

  • Motov

How much more proof is required to bounce this clown outta office?

    • billybob

Just keep telling yourself that, billybob. The fact that your IQ test, but for an ink splot, would have registered “Geranium” should not deter you.

Perhaps if you put on a blue dress and seduce him? I’m sure that would be enough to get the House to impeach, but the Senate is too sane to go along.

One has to understand that this is not about healthcare, and there is nothing, not logic, not personal economic damage to citizens, not damage to the economy in general, not damage to the ability of the society to deliver quality healthcare , nothing that is more important to these statists than getting control of another 18% of the American economy. If you don’t understand this, you will never be able to come to terms with what we are up against.

37% Say Zombies Would Do Better Job Than Federal Gov’t, 37% Opt for Feds

    Thursday, October 31, 2013

It’s not exactly a vote of confidence in the powers that be: A sizable number of Americans think the undead would do a better job than the brain dead in Washington, D.C.

Thirty-seven percent (37%) of American Adults believe the federal government would do a better job than zombies running the country today. But the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that most Americans don’t share that view, with just as many (37%) who feel zombies would do a better job running the country and another 26% who can’t decide between the two. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

These findings are no surprise, given that 64% of Likely U.S. Voters now view the federal government unfavorably, with 34% who have a Very Unfavorable opinion of it.

Fifty-six percent (56%) of Democrats still pledge allegiance to the federal government, but pluralities of Republicans (45%) and those not affiliated with either major political party (44%) have more confidence in zombies when it comes to running the nation’s affairs.

Only six percent (6%) of all Americans anticipate a zombie apocalypse, so supporters of the federal government can rest easy. Eighty-two percent (82%) do not, but 12% are not sure.

Among those who expect a Zombie apocalypse, 74% say they are at least somewhat prepared, with 53% who are Very Prepared.

For those without a sense of humor, vote here.

Didn’t Barry lie when he took the oath of office.? didn’t he promise to uphold the Constitution? or maybe he was confused, thinking he was taking the oath on the Quran.

    • Alan

He promised to uphold the constitution according to the way he sees it, not the way it was originally written. He is an absolutely rotten piece of commie s***.

      • Jeff

And you’re just the one to tell us how it was written? And what George Washington thought was reasonable must stand for all time? What did George think about the ability of cops to search an automobile for drugs? How about searching your computer or compelling you to submit to a DNA test? And waterboarding? I’m sure he was quite explicit about that.

        • vicki

Since alan can read and may actually have read the founders words elaborating on the meaning of the Constitution yes he is qualified to tell us how it was written. More importantly WE can read and are fully qualified to know what was written.

But how many thousands already lost their Insurance Plan?

Question? If you qualify, when do you get the subsidy? And the math seems wrong since the claim is that the lady was quoted $478 per month by the broker, with the statement that was a lot more than she would really pay. Then they say that they found a quote of only $333 per month –after the subsidy. Later in the article it says the subsidy is worth more than $200 per month. That would make their lower costing policy come in at a minimum of $533 per month or $55 more than what she found on her own. So does she pay the $533+ per month and hope that sometime in the future she gets a refund of the more than $2,400 subsidy?

The Administration has not cancelled any policies. The cancelled policies (hardly a new concept, by the way) were cancelled by the insurers for a variety of reasons, most having to do with the availability of better policies and, more often than not, at better prices. If you remove all regulations with regard to quality, you can always lower the cost of any product. Remove all the modern safety equipment and you can probably sell cars for a lot less, too. In this analogy the Edsel (or the Pinto with Firestone 500 tires) is those cut-rate policies that are just fine until you get sick and find out you’re not covered for much.

    • vicki

evidence that more often than not, at better prices.

    • Robert Messmer

So maternity coverage is absolutely needed for a gay couple? How does requiring citizens to be covered for services not wanted/needed make for a better policy? How do you get better prices by making healthy people pay for pre-existing conditions they don’t have? Term life insurance policies for NON-SMOKERS are cheaper than those for smokers. The reason is simple–the smokers are a bigger risk, same for those with pre-existing conditions – bigger risk, pay more. Actually, your premise of a company cancelling a policy because a better policy at a cheaper price is available is bs. Why would they do that? They wouldn’t do anything to decrease their bottom line.

  • Dirty Daug

Wasn’t Bill Clinton impeached for lying by the House but let go by the Senate. So all of these liars should be brought up in front of the House to tell their story of lies. If Obummer care is so great why has the congress and all those “in the Know” trying to exempt themselves or have exempted themselves from it?? Shouldn’t the leaders of this great nation be willing to live under the same laws as every one else??

In the last election ONLY 12% of the registered voters turned in the district I reside in. With turnout like this it no wonder the country is in this mess. The talk about term limits is not needed IF people would register to vote and then VOTE. Those “lifetime” officeholders who feel they are invincible NEED to be shown the exit door!! Sent back to the REAL world and find out what real life is.

Quick math– 535 congress persons– Minimum pay $174,000– other benefits ?? — allowance for offices, personnel, and? over $1,000,000 each one.
