Obama Executive Order Creates Task Force, Expands Government For Climate Change

UPI Pictures of the Year 2012 Ð NEWS & FEATURES

President Barack Obama issued an executive order last week that forges ahead with his Administration’s unswerving devotion to the lucrative religion of man-made climate change.

“The impacts of climate change — including an increase in prolonged periods of excessively high temperatures, more heavy downpours, an increase in wildfires, more severe droughts, permafrost thawing, ocean acidification, and sea-level rise — are already affecting communities, natural resources, ecosystems, economies, and public health across the nation,” said Obama in issuing the order.

The order calls on new Federal measures to prepare the Nation’s infrastructure to withstand weather-related natural disasters (presumably because he thinks we’re having more man-made weather-related storms). He calls for “engaged and strong partnerships and information sharing at all levels of government” and “risk-informed decisionmaking and the tools to facilitate it.”

But the kicker is the President’s policy introduction of “adaptive learning, in which experiences serve as opportunities to inform and adjust future actions.” That essentially means canonizing man-made climate change into government doctrine.

To support the efforts of regions, States, local communities, and tribes, all agencies, consistent with their missions and in coordination with the Council on Climate Preparedness and Resilience (Council) established in section 6 of this order, shall:

(i) identify and seek to remove or reform barriers that discourage investments or other actions to increase the Nation’s resilience to climate change while ensuring continued protection of public health and the environment;

(ii) reform policies and Federal funding programs that may, perhaps unintentionally, increase the vulnerability of natural or built systems, economic sectors, natural resources, or communities to climate change related risks;

(iii) identify opportunities to support and encourage smarter, more climate-resilient investments by States, local communities, and tribes, including by providing incentives through agency guidance, grants, technical assistance, performance measures, safety considerations, and other programs, including in the context of infrastructure development as reflected in Executive Order 12893 of January 26, 1994 (Principles for Federal Infrastructure Investments), my memorandum of August 31, 2011 (Speeding Infrastructure Development through More Efficient and Effective Permitting and Environmental Review), Executive Order 13604 of March 22, 2012 (Improving Performance of Federal Permitting and Review of Infrastructure Projects), and my memorandum of May 17, 2013 (Modernizing Federal Infrastructure Review and Permitting Regulations, Policies, and Procedures); and

(iv) report on their progress in achieving the requirements identified above, including accomplished and planned milestones, in the Agency Adaptation Plans developed pursuant to section 5 of this order.

… And the list goes on.

What are those councils and task forces Obama mentions?

One is a new interagency Council on Climate Preparedness and Resilience. That panel is to be co-chaired by a triumvirate composed of the chair of the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), the director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (did you even know that was a thing?) and the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism. The Mission of the CCPR:

Mission and Function of the Council. The Council shall work across agencies and offices, and in partnership with State, local, and tribal governments (as well as the Task Force established in section 7 of this order), academic and research institutions, and the private and nonprofit sectors to:

(i) develop, recommend, coordinate interagency efforts on, and track implementation of priority Federal Government actions related to climate preparedness and resilience;

(ii) support regional, State, local, and tribal action to assess climate change related vulnerabilities and cost-effectively increase climate preparedness and resilience of communities, critical economic sectors, natural and built infrastructure, and natural resources, including through the activities as outlined in sections 2 and 3 of this order;

(iii) facilitate the integration of climate science in policies and planning of government agencies and the private sector, including by promoting the development of innovative, actionable, and accessible Federal climate change related information, data, and tools at appropriate scales for decisionmakers and deployment of this information through a Government-wide web-based portal, as described in section 4 of this order; and

(iv) such other functions as may be decided by the Co-Chairs, including implementing, as appropriate, the recommendations of the Task Force established in section 7 of this order.

The CCPR will replace the Interagency Climate Change Adaptive Task Force, which the Obama Administration set up in 2009.

But don’t worry, Obama created a new task force in the new order: the State, Local and Tribal Leaders Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience. That new group is to be co-chaired by the CEQ chair and the director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. The new task force focuses on more pragmatic ways to dangle the carrot of climate change policy before corporate movers and shakers:

Mission and Function. Within 1 year of the date of this order, the Task Force shall provide, through its Co-Chairs, recommendations to the President and the Council for how the Federal Government can:

(i) remove barriers, create incentives, and otherwise modernize Federal programs to encourage investments, practices, and partnerships that facilitate increased resilience to climate impacts, including those associated with extreme weather;

(ii) provide useful climate preparedness tools and actionable information for States, local communities, and tribes, including through interagency collaboration as described in section 6 of this order; and

(iii) otherwise support State, local, and tribal preparedness for and resilience to climate change.

“Provide useful climate change preparedness tools…” Is the Obama Administration getting ready to put Al Gore on the global warming evangelical circuit?

Ben Bullard

Reconciling the concept of individual sovereignty with conscientious participation in the modern American political process is a continuing preoccupation for staff writer Ben Bullard. A former community newspaper writer, Bullard has closely observed the manner in which well-meaning small-town politicians and policy makers often accept, unthinkingly, their increasingly marginal role in shaping the quality of their own lives, as well as those of the people whom they serve. He argues that American public policy is plagued by inscrutable and corrupt motives on a national scale, a fundamental problem which individuals, families and communities must strive to solve. This, he argues, can be achieved only as Americans rediscover the principal role each citizen plays in enriching the welfare of our Republic.

    Put this KENYA FRAUD MUZZY ILLEGAL TRAITOR on TRIAL for ALL those offenses

    • Vis Fac

      If only congress had the balls to do so. They’re too busy busy saving and Kissing A$$ to do the right thing. Several times I have written my congress people to do the right thing only to receive a “form letter” saying they’ll address my “concerns” TOTAL BS I have never liked being pandered nor do I appreciate condensation. All of which comes from career politicians!!!

      To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the wolf hoping he will eat you last – but eat you he will.

      You don’t have to be a Marine to make a difference the only requirement is being truly patriotic and the willingness to back it up!!!

    I guess this MOFO never heard of the 9th and 10th amendments, or for that matter, the entire Constitution and Bill of Rights. My bad. He wipes his black A$$ with it every day.

  • Warrior

    Now if the demonrats could just redirect their focus from their continual “war on women” to something more productive, like “war against ash borers”, I think we could find some common ground!

    • dan

      hehehe…he said ‘ASH’ borers (didn’t want any progs getting unduly excited)

  • Muffin Man Mashinsky

    Committees, councils, task forces,…Hey, who said Obummer & his crazy corrupt Chicago-style thuggish cabal could not create jobs???….all this just to weather some storms? NAH…a way to take away more freedoms, while thinking they can control Mother Nature like they think they can micromanage everything else…they should study the severe weather patterns of the dustbowl era when there was much less oil consumption & technology, but hey to the LOONY TUNES LIBs who bow to Saul Alinsky, once you take on a ideology you cna’t turn back no matter what the facts or truths say!!

    • dan

      that is so well said…I make an early nomination for comment of the day
      (global change division)

      • Muffin Man Mashinksy

        Thanks…we are in such deep doo-doo politically, especially with LIBs in office…Only God can really save us, but I do believe only Rand Paul or Cruz can start pointing us in right direction & give power back to states & start cutting down the uncontrollable & corrupt Federal Leviathan!

          Jesse Ventura 2016

          • Muffin Man Mashinksy

            Hey, I’d give him a shot!!

          • Motov

            Yup forget parties! And since we have a Muslim in office,
            (If they win) The VP will be Jewish, Talk about “change”,…lol And Mr Ventura is atheist. At least he doesn’t mince words and he is honest,…WOW! what a concept!

          • Motov

            ,…..with Howard Stern as VP
            No political party, no kidding.

          • Bill

            Howard Stern is a libertarian and he makes enough money to fund the campaign without help from special interest groups

          • Motov

            That’s the reason behind the pick, Jesse Ventura will get press coverage, and he’s saying no to party platforms.
            George Washington was the only president to not have a party affiliation.

    • Bill

      Good comment, Muffin
      The global warming religion is very lucrative. It is also an easy sell. Don’t you want to save the earth and the little birdies and whales.
      It is marketing genius because they have the people so trained that any change in the weather can be blamed on global warming.
      Our local newspaper has a column called “This day in history”. There was an article the other day that said on this day in 1927 broke a 40 year drought. So the drought started in 1827 and was obviously not caused by man. If the same drought was occurring today, it would be blamed on global warming

      • Muffin Man Mashinksy

        Gore, who will not debate Lord Monckton, has made million on it…he used money from book that sternly warned not to buy a house near oceans, to buy a house on beach in California…..LMAO!! & people still look at him as beacon of Light here…there’s a sucker born every minute & most are LOONY TUNES LIBs!!!

      • Motov

        Kinda like Bush’s fault

        • Bill

          Hi Motov,
          Yes, I forgot that.
          I have been thinking about your Parkinson’s. You are not going to get help by getting the latest drugs. You need to look at your body as a whole and change your lifestyle.
          Some of the most effective treatments are IV’s, and you might benefit from Glutathione IV’s.
          Do some internet searching and I hope you do better

          • Motov

            I rather supplement my medications with “weedies” it drops my pill intake by 1/2, IV’s are very nice, I had “optimum dosing” when I was at the NIH, I had fun walking around with “my buddy” (one of those IV “carts”)
            I will continue to ride the bike as it does help me.

      • Robert Messmer

        Of course the 40 year drought was man-made as a result of killing all the buffalo and running railroad tracks clear across the country. President Bush ordered it.

      • Scott

        Mr Gore – China, India, Russia, South america & all Asia are the Dominent polluters of the world – Nothing we do will change that – period

    • Jana

      I have ordered this book so I can know my enemy better. They have other goals also.
      —25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography in books, magazines, motion pics, and TV.

      —26.Present Homo-sexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity
      as “normal, natural & healthy”.

      —27.Infiltrate the Churches and replace revealed religion with social religion. Discredit the Bible.

      —17.Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism…soften the curriculum. Get control of the Teachers Associations.

      These are just 4 of their goals. So far they have been very successful in achieving each and every one of these goals.

    • Robert Messmer

      Maybe some shovel jobs but all the “Chiefs” are already employed as chief of something else. Which means probably more pay and even less job performance since they will now be dividing their time between two jobs.

    • Robert Messmer

      Which in a way is pretty funny since while they have made quite a lot of headway here, they have apparently lost Russia. Putin is really, really not tolerant of homosexuals.

      • Vis Fac

        Yeah Go figure. It’s more like a do as I say not as I do sort of thing!!

        To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the wolf hoping he will eat you last – but eat you he will.

    When are the people of America going to wake-up and realize that all we are to the government (heil Obama) just a number to them. The smaller the number, the easier it will be for the government to “rule” over the people. All these “death” scandals, scandals like Benghazi, don’t mean anything and will not stop them trying to achieve their agenda: global domination controlling every aspect of our lives. Consider this as just another tool to put in their toolbox.

  • Motov

    Obozo won’t stop, He blunders from one scandal to the next, Everything he touches turns corrupt. He must be stopped!!

    Here is a climate change suggestion–move New Orleans inland and blow up the dikes.
