Obama Emulates Paul Policy

January 17, 2012 by

Obama Emulates Paul Policy

The Ron Paul campaign has long been saying that the Texas Congressman’s rivals in the Republican Presidential Primary make halfhearted attempts to copy his “cut the size of Federal government” message, but the campaign says he now has an unlikely imitator in the Administration of Barack Obama.

A campaign statement pointed out the attempt:

“Just like most of the Republican presidential candidates, President Obama really isn’t going to consolidate government or cut spending. But also like them, the President apparently thinks it’s important to try to sound like Ron Paul. Paul’s budget plan eliminates five federal departments, transferring some functions to other departments, allowing for $1 trillion to be cut in the first year.”

The comparison between Obama and Paul’s GOP rivals comes as the White House recently announced a new plan to consolidate Federal agencies, beginning with those related to trade and commerce. The Administration claims that the plan will eliminate about 1,000 Federal jobs and save $3 billion over a 10-year span.

The President said his plan to consolidate agencies is a part of a promise he made last year during the State of the Union address to create a leaner, more efficient Federal bureaucracy.

Obama will propose combining the functions and staff of six trade- and commerce-related agencies and offices: the Small Business Administration; the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative; the Export-Import Bank; the Overseas Private Investment Corporation; and the Trade and Development Agency, according to reports.

The move has been met by opposition from some lawmakers who say it could hamper the government’s ability to quickly implement new trade and commerce programs, but many Republicans have supported the plan because it falls in line with small government policy, according to The Washington Post.

The Paul campaign has pointed out that the President’s plan is little more than a symbolic gesture that will merely put a dent in Federal spending and bureaucracy.

I actually laughed out loud when I heard this story on CNN, Bob. Big government exists to protect itself, period. Much too little much too late, Mr. Obama. Ron Paul 2012!

    • Bert Cundle Sr.

NOT FUNNY! The cut is a form of our DEFENSE! It is a sure thing they arn’t going to shrivvle any of their Power to Control us!

      • Lee

The way I understand it, most of these cuts will directly effect small business growth. I.E. STILFE small business. This guy wants to destroy the free enterprise system. PERIOD!!!

        • Nadzieja Batki

Or this will affect business start ups or entrepeneurs.

    • Brian

Ron Paul 2012!…AND Term Limits on the House and Senate of one term of six years for the Senate and one term of two years for the House…What? We won’t have any ‘experience’ up there? Well, it’s done a real good job so far hasn’t it? The bottom line is that it will change the type of people getting those jobs and will change their actions once up there in DC – AND will change the ‘need’ for government to keep growing!

    • johnk

i wouldn’t laugh. why these agencies? in my mind, he is going to try to sink the economy.

    • John Woodbury

The USA has one shot at survival, Dr. Ron Paul. Whether you like him or not, I do not; He is the only person who will not continue business as usual after the election. If the Republicans put forth Romney we will have a pick of Obama or Obama lite, either way we are f(*&ed.

  • Vicky

Just another, move to try to get relected. Obama is going to pull every trick, every lie, out. He will cheat, and have his Acorn bubbies do as must fraud as they can get away with. Him and his wife need to go.

    • eddie47d

Too bad the other Republican candidates can’t emulate Ron Paul’s behavior. Now that would be a welcome sight to see.

  • Mushin

HA,HA,HA! I’m with you Lynne! “The Administration claims that the plan will eliminate about 1,000 Federal jobs and save $3 billion over a 10-year span.” 3 BILLION! THAT’S CHUMP-CHANGE COMPARED TO WHAT HE’LL SPEND! This guy should be on Comedy Central!

    GO RON!

    • Centurion

Let’s see now. Losing a thousand jobs and saving $3Bn….Well that means that each job lost is offset by $3MILLION in reduced cost! Let’s cut 100,000 federal jobs. 533,000 would eliminate the deficit at that rate.

  • Stephen

Everything the Obamir currently endeavors to do is for the sole purpose of getting reelected. The class “poor vs. rich” argument started by the unions and OWS was started because “rich is bad” and Romney isn’t exactly poor. Ron Paul gains some momentum with cutting government waste, well, the Obamir is for that too. What next? A fight to curb abortions Mr President? Make all Americans pay their fair share of taxes? Enact a free voter identification system so your voters can have more than one ID?

King Obamir is a joke. America does not need an Emperor.

    • AJ

      Obama isn’t exactly poor either.

If you beleave the crap coming from Obama’s verbage thae you need to look up the fact’s as to what he is really doing, more smoke and mirrors!!

        “The Folly of Atheism.”

        1. The fool hath said in his heart,”There is no God.” Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
        2. God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.
        3. Every one of them has gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
        4. Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? Who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.
        5. There they were in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

        Psalms 53

This says it all as God will destroy the atheists, save his people, and bring them the safety in our God. This is the sae God that made us a nation. His words, the Bible, Jdeo-Christian principles, Biblical Law, the Ten Commandments, and other things is what this country was founded on and nothing dealing with atheism is to be found no where in our founding. Our country needs to get back to God and Jesus. Thank you.

If you run the Numbers Obama is saying that each of the average salaries are $300,000 for each employees a year. That seems to be a little high even for Federal Union workers, or it could just be Obama fussy number.

    • Brian

The alleged savings woukd not all be from salaries. If you have 1000 fewer employees you have 1000 less people to provide office space, supplies and anything else for.

If Paul gets in there really will be cuts in government the likes of which none of the other candidates running today would even dare aspire to. Including the current imperial prez.

  • John Acord

Hussein would make Ron Paul his VP or Secretary of the Treasury if he thought he could get another term. He would probably give a Ron Paul third party 500 million to crush Romney. LOL 2012 is going to be the biggest battle we have seen since the election of 1860. It would be far better to start demanding that Romney and the rest of the remaining four to step down and support Paul. It is the only hope we have to save the Republic, The Constitution and our liberties.

    • Lynne

Funny that the sheeple have come to believe our country is a democracy when the Founders set it up to be a Representative Republic. Democracy is mob-rule. “Democracy: two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.” Heh. Hand out U.S Constitutions to everyone!

      • moonbeam

For those of you who WAHT another four years of Obama, keep pushing Ron Paul. Having him nomitated as the Republican candidate is one of the easiest and surest ways to gain Obama’s re election.

    • http://google rose

Do you really think Obama is a better choice than Ron Paul? I’m voting Ron Paul!

      • Lynne

Ron Paul all the way and then some … Airborne! I would *love* to see the final debates between Obama and Paul. Obama would be stuttering and sputtering and melting into a pool of jello and Paul would finally and *firmly* win over the hearts and minds of all Americans. Liberty for all!

    • Brian

You aren’t payong attention. Polls show Paul statistically tied with Obama. Romney is the only ither Republican polling close to Obama. And Romney is simply Obama’s white half.

    • Alex Frazier

CP, since the libertarians hate Romney, and since many of them have openly declared that if they can’t vote for Ron Paul they’ll vote for Obama, and since the libertarians constitute approximately 20% of the voting Republican party, it’s a plain fact that if anyone other than Ron Paul is nominated, the Republicans will lose, because 20%ish of their voting base will evaporate.

Plus, Ron Paul is statistically tied with Obama in the polls.

I think you need to do some fact checking.

    • dozerboy

      Spike,
You obviously have very little understanding of economics and the constitution. I’m guessing you are one of those who mistakingly believe that higher taxes equals higher revenue. It just ain’t so and can be proven historically. We had a strong military long before the unconstitutional income tax was instituted. the fact is, is that the gov’t does NOT need revenues generated by income theft to operate. Income taxes are merely a mechanism to control people and consumption. The constitution says that INDIRECT taxes in the form of excises, tariffs, imposts and duties are authorized, and must be applied according to census and enumeration. The 16th amendment, (which was never properly ratified) put this clause into conflict. It also says that ONLY congress has the power to coin money and regulate the value thereof. NOT a central bank (“federal” reserve bank). Ron Paul understands these basic constitutional, and economic concepts and is the ONLY candidate willing to stand up for those principles and for the document that forms the basis for rule of law in our nation. May God help him to articulate that message.

      • dozerboy

I mis-spoke….Direct taxes must be in accordance with census and enumeration…INDIRECT taxes are to be applied uniformly. At anyrate, This is why Dr Paul is correct in cutting illegal gov’t beuracracies and taxes and force the gov’t to do only what it is allowed to do, using only money it is authorized to have and get in a legal manner.

    • http://none R Paul or status quo

      Ron Paul 2012

    • Alex Frazier

spike, I hear what you’re saying, and I can understand how and why that might seem to make sense to you.

But understand that taxes are only necessary because of spending. Paul wants to reduce the income tax to 0%; i.e. he wants to eliminate it. The natural reaction is, “how then do we pay for things?” The answer is, you stop paying for them. Trim the fat. If you spend less, you need less revenue.
He wants to cut military spending, but not defense spending. Even if all he did was bring the troops home, we would save untold billions of dollars by employing them domestically rather than internationally.

    • http://naver sook young

Using Obummer’s ‘logic,’ maybe Paul should move ‘to the far left’ so he can suck up to America’s retarded utopians. But, that would be illogical, so there’s NO point in assuming that Obummer is moving to the ‘right,’ people. THIS IS POLITICS!
We’re dealing with a wannabe Emperor. We’re dealing with a warped personality, and he’s nothing less than a ‘legend in his own mind.’ We’re temporarily saddled with what amounts to something of a curse.
Do you remember when Bubba Clinton tried to act like he was ‘moving to the right’ to make his robots think he was caving to the ‘other’ side?
It’s smoke-and-mirrors, folks. A skunk can’t change its shape, colors or its odor. Some people just don’t get it, but then they gave up that ability when they became ‘professional’ utopians.
And, as the rest of us know, a utopian would sell his parents, just to get a few bucks to help elect yet another useful idiot, tin-plated, scum-sucking puke. It’s not only ‘in the contract,’ folks. It’s in their DNA.

Ron Paul has a really bad debate performance last night

    • Jefferson Thomas

well if he had a bad debate performance, that must mean he no longer has principles, no longer uses reason, and is disqualified from being president.

All candidates who perform badly in debates should be immediately disqualified from running for the presidency as determined by a panel of experts in government, unions, and university professors who are debating experts.

      • JeffH

JT, is it human nature to listen to the message or listen to the method of delivering the message? I’m sure you make your judgments based on the contents, not how it looked or sounded, just as most of the Paul supporters do. Why is it that some voters can’t make a sound choice based on the track record of the candidate but would rather get the guy/gal with the nice voice, cloths or hair?

A fake is a fake no matter how they sound or what they look like…with Ron Paul, you get what you see and hear…constitutionally principled man.

        Vote Ron Paul 2012!

        • Bill

Well said. Get off the romantic sexual content of a man and pay attention to what his principals happen to be. Not one of the people who voted for this guy is going to go to bed with him, so forget the envy. We all know this type of psychology is going on, we just don’t want to admit it.

          • libertytrain

Bill — it’s just human nature to be brainwashed by looks and charms in every individual society; however, the fact they don’t recognize they are just following a predisposed wiring problem in the brain demonstrates how easily they are being led by the leash because of looks, a smooth voice, a thick head of hair. Really really blind to reality – if you stop and think about it. Paul is the most “attractive” candidate.

Actually, I fell asleep about 45 minutes into the debate, though I spoke with my mother this morning (who watched the entire thing) and she was of the opinion that RP did *great* last night, even receiving a standing ovation at one point. I was disappointed to see the CNN clip about his being boo’ed over foreign policy. Is the Deep South full of warmongers, by chance?

      • Brogan

Actually he was booed about 3 times

      • Alex Frazier

It was Newt that got the standing ovation for defending his stance that you children should be allowed to work, which is an idea that has been criticized and despised for nearly four decades in America. Imagine that. I personally agree with him, but I do think it’s ironic that people criticize defense of Chinese goods because they “use child labor.” lol

And yes, South Carolina is apparently populated with warmongers. I’m proud to be a South Carolinian, but I’m not proud of the boos Ron Paul got for his conviction that war is a bad a thing no matter what way you try to paint it.

    • Alex Frazier

I agree that he did poorly in the debate. I let it slide personally because I know what’s in his head. And I know that being a great public speaker isn’t a necessary prerequisite to being a competent president. If public performances and charisma were the hallmarks of a good president, then we’d have nothing more to discuss. We already have a phenomenally charismatic man in office now.

Nevertheless, he didn’t express himself clearly, and he seemed to stumble over himself. He did have a few strong moments, but that’s not what really stood out to me.

  • metalflyer11

All I see in the article is Obama consolidating agencies(more centralization of power) not elimination of them. Very different from Ron Paul.

Those of you that have been floating on air and having warm fuzzy thoughts about Ron Paul should run to get and view last nights debates. The true RP was really visible on that stage. Listen to him and watch his body language. The guy has always scared me, he now terrifies me.

Obama’s plan calls for a 3 billion dollar savings over 10 years. I’ve also seen a figure of 5 billion over 10 years. The current annual deficit runs at about 1.2 trillion dollars.

Give him the benefit and say he cuts that deficit to one trillion dollars. 5 billion divided by 10 shows an annual saving of 500 million dollars. That figure, 500 million dollars, amounts to an annual cut of .0005% of the one trillion dollar deficit.

That’s not even a respectable rounding error!

Ron Paul’s first year proposes to be one trillion dollars and a balanced budget in three years.

Now consider that the Obama plan would probably take two or three years to even get started. By that time (assuming his re-election) he is a lame duck, he couldn’t care less, and soon after there would be a new president who wouldn’t even know that infinitesimal program even existed.

The comment was that ‘God’ is not a ‘he,’ friend, not that ‘God’ is a ‘she.’ Personally, if speaking of any sort of god, I’m of the firm belief that it’s an ‘it.’ I throw my full support behind Reason and Science and the Chaos/Order/’Divinity’ of The Universe, thank you very much. Most of our Founding Fathers were men of reason. I see no reason to find that unreasonable!

Blast. This comment was meant to be placed as a reply to the banter between Bert and vic above. Dunno why it was re-routed down here since I did hit the ‘Reply’ to vic option … ;p

Would it surprise you to hear that the Mysery man has no intention of cutting government, what he stated was merging government agencies, there was no mention of cutting cost or size from this multitude of over paid, ineficient entities used to perform CYA policy and hide cost over runs. This is not cutting the cost or size of government.
Here again this fraud in name and fact is pulling the wool over the eyes of those he hopes will not listen, it’s not what he says it’s what he does. The mysery man loves to burn “your” candle at both ends, tell you it will last longer and give more light and then dares you to stop him as he rubs the smelly residue in your face.

Nice try obama, emulate Ron Paul. Not going to work, you have and will continue to be exposed for the narcissistic liar that you are. Ron Paul 2012

Impeach Obama NOW! Before he destroys the rest of America. Obama is as fake as his birth certificate. Obama has dual citizenship. He is a citizen of Indonesia and was born in Kenya. He has no right to be POTUS.
Obama is out to destroy the middle class and small business. When he runs small business out of business than the government will take over big business. The programs he is consolidating all have to do with small business.
    World Wide Warning
02/29/2012 Add theday, month and year together and you get 18=1+8=9. Than add the day 29 together and you get 11. Put them together and you get 9/11 on leap day of leap year 2012.
Be prepared people. If nothing happens we can all have a Dooms Day Party.

I find all of this commenting a big waste of time because the liberals/Democrats will continue with their diatribes, distortions and deceptions to no end. It is their “mode of operandi” and has been since 1915 when the democrats broke away from the Democrat-Republican Party to push their liberal and loose socialistic form of governing and which has mostly been the cause of Our overall failure by Our elected Officials to fully serve the whole of American citizens. As for ObombA he did not fool me in 2010 and surely not now. He is very much like those who run the state government here in Hawaii. ObombA and his colleagues and appointees are without the honest drive to serve for the better of all American citizens and seems that his goals are clearly to damage and reek havoc to the structure of Our Country and it’s people. I say through the bastard out and never ever let him back in to any form of government serve whatsoever again.

Audit of the Federal Reserve Reveals $16 Trillion in Secret Bailouts
    unelected.org
The first ever GAO(Government Accountability Office) audit of the Federal Reserve was carried out in the past few months due to the Ron Paul, Alan Grayson Amendment to the Dodd-Frank bill, which passed last year. Jim DeMint, a Republican Senator, and Bernie Sanders, an independent Senator, led the charge for a Federal Reserve audit in the Senate, but watered down the original language of the house bill(HR1207), so that a complete audit would not be carried out. Ben Bernanke(pictured to the right), Alan Greenspan, and various other bankers vehemently opposed the audit and lied to Congress about the effects an audit would have on markets. Nevertheless, the results of the first audit in the Federal Reserve’s nearly 100 year history were posted on Senator Sander’s webpage earlier this morning.

What was revealed in the audit was startling:

$16,000,000,000,000.00 had been secretly given out to US banks and corporations and foreign banks everywhere from France to Scotland. From the period between December 2007 and June 2010, the Federal Reserve had secretly bailed out many of the world’s banks, corporations, and governments. The Federal Reserve likes to refer to these secret bailouts as an all-inclusive loan program, but virtually none of the money has been returned and it was loaned out at 0% interest. Why the Federal Reserve had never been public about this or even informed the United States Congress about the $16 trillion dollar bailout is obvious – the American public would have been outraged to find out that the Federal Reserve bailed out foreign banks while Americans were struggling to find jobs.

To place $16 trillion into perspective, remember that GDP of the United States is only $14.12 trillion. The entire national debt of the United States government spanning its 200+ year history is “only” $14.5 trillion. The budget that is being debated so heavily in Congress and the Senate is “only” $3.5 trillion. Take all of the outrage and debate over the $1.5 trillion deficit into consideration, and swallow this Red pill: There was no debate about whether $16,000,000,000,000 would be given to failing banks and failing corporations around the world.

In late 2008, the TARP Bailout bill was passed and loans of $800 billion were given to failing banks and companies. That was a blatant lie considering the fact that Goldman Sachs alone received 814 billion dollars. As is turns out, the Federal Reserve donated $2.5 trillion to Citigroup, while Morgan Stanley received $2.04 trillion. The Royal Bank of Scotland and Deutsche Bank, a German bank, split about a trillion and numerous other banks received hefty chunks of the $16 trillion.

“This is a clear case of socialism for the rich and rugged, you’re-on-your-own individualism for everyone else.” – Bernie Sanders (I-VT)

When you have conservative Republican stalwarts like Jim DeMint(R-SC) and Ron Paul(R-TX) as well as self identified Democratic socialists like Bernie Sanders all fighting against the Federal Reserve, you know that it is no longer an issue of Right versus Left. When you have every single member of the Republican Party in Congress and progressive Congressmen like Dennis Kucinich sponsoring a bill to audit the Federal Reserve, you realize that the Federal Reserve is an entity onto itself, which has no oversight and no accountability.

Americans should be swelled with anger and outrage at the abysmal state of affairs when an unelected group of bankers can create money out of thin air and give it out to megabanks and supercorporations like Halloween candy. If the Federal Reserve and the bankers who control it believe that they can continue to devalue the savings of Americans and continue to destroy the US economy, they will have to face the realization that their trillion dollar printing presses will eventually plunder the world economy.

The list of institutions that received the most money from the Federal Reserve can be found on page 131 of the GAO Audit and are as follows..

    Citigroup: $2.5 trillion ($2,500,000,000,000)
    Morgan Stanley: $2.04 trillion ($2,040,000,000,000)
    Merrill Lynch: $1.949 trillion ($1,949,000,000,000)
Bank of America: $1.344 trillion ($1,344,000,000,000)
Barclays PLC (United Kingdom): $868 billion ($868,000,000,000)
    Bear Sterns: $853 billion ($853,000,000,000)
    Goldman Sachs: $814 billion ($814,000,000,000)
Royal Bank of Scotland (UK): $541 billion ($541,000,000,000)
JP Morgan Chase: $391 billion ($391,000,000,000)
Deutsche Bank (Germany): $354 billion ($354,000,000,000)
    UBS (Switzerland): $287 billion ($287,000,000,000)
Credit Suisse (Switzerland): $262 billion ($262,000,000,000)
    Lehman Brothers: $183 billion ($183,000,000,000)
Bank of Scotland (United Kingdom): $181 billion ($181,000,000,000)
BNP Paribas (France): $175 billion ($175,000,000,000)
and many many more including banks in Belgium of all places

    • Bill

now if you are one of those entities getting all of that paper of electronic money wouldn’t you want to donate just a couple of billion to the one that let you have it, after all someone needs that money to get reelected so you can perhaps get even more and have more control over your subjects?

  • hitthedeck

I assure that Obama will not be cutting government jobs that are doing the paper pushing when he talked about consolidating agencies. The one thousand jobs he was talking will be one thousand of the twenty thousand military personnel that he will force into an early retirement and others that will be forced out of a military career. It is most likely that he will hire more government employees because he needs the votes and they will be voting for the boss that guarantees their job with all those great government benefits. Obama Care will boost his voting base up in the tens of thousands.

  • Laura

This is nothing new obama’s never been original. Everything he has said and done has been copied in one way or another. People say he’s a great talker but in reality he really isn’t without his teleprompter.

  • pmartin43

lol, Hey OsamaBama just step down and let Ron Paul Show you how its done geeze!!!! GO RON PAUL 2012!!!!!!!!!

  • Bob Marshall

Ron Paul want to follow the guidelines of the Original Constitution while Obama wants a new “progressive” living Constitution.i can find no where in the Constitution does it mentions anything about nation building. Too many want government more and more handouts and that means a larger government and more governmental control of its citizens.Since qwe have a weak congress, a Supreme Court that favors the government in most decisions and a president who has made it clear how he feels about our Constitution and our country it is no wonder we are more like the USSR than the USA. United States Socialist Republic. Think about it! Then former Premier of the USSR, Nikita S. Khrushchev, in 1957, said the USSR would not have to fire one shot at the USA, they would fall from within. This is happening at even a more rapid pace than even the global elite thought possible. We have Socialist, Communist and radical followers of Islam in America who want to bring America down. While their methods may differ, the goal is the same.

  • Donald

Why all the whining. “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Who cares what the reasons are?

IN THE END, YOU CAN NOT DENY THE TRUTH.

    RON PAUL, 2012.

    CHEERS.

  • Donna Hammond

I am going to vote for Ron Oaul because I think he is the most honest of the candidates. He wants less government and to save America not destroy like our current president is doing. America was great because America was good. Lets bring that back again, also America was great because she was strong. We dont need a weak president, one who bows to the enemie or apologies for Amerilca. We dont have to be so politically correct. We should be able to voice our belief without worring about that it might offend someone, after all the ones that get offended dont care if we are offended. I want a strong America and that is why I am voting for Ron Paul. Donna
