The New Black Panther Party (NBPP) is still ready to pounce on George Zimmerman, the man charged in the shooting death of black teen Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla.

On Thursday, the NBPP discussed the cover of its upcoming newspaper. The idea of having Zimmerman in a noose was a favorite.

Malik Zulu Shabazz, National Chairman of the NBPP, said amongst giddy laughter:

We are not paperboys. We are not papergirls. We are revolutionaries with a lifesaving message to help our people. I know it’s hot in Florida. …I can’t wait til the next paper. I might just put George Zimmerman’s face on the front cover with a noose around his head. And this is what he deserves. …Just Zimmerman’s head with a noose around it. …I think that would sell fast.

Last month, Shabazz talked about plans to form a black army in Florida:

We are going to train the community in community patrols and community self-defense in Sanford. We are not going to allow some neo-Nazis to drive around and intimidate black people. …We have to raise up an army in Florida of black men and black people who will patrol and defend the community and we have to have a ministry of defense in Florida. …We got to kill.

President Barack Obama shared the podium with Shabazz during Obama’s 2008 campaign.

At the earliest, Zimmerman’s trial will be in October.
