More Of Obama’s Massive Lies

barack obama

There have been so many lies flooding out of Washington lately that’s it’s hard to keep up with them all, much less rebut them. But let’s tackle as many as we can today.

And let’s start with a lulu that took place last week, when Barack Obama was interviewed on CNBC. John Harwood asked him about the appropriateness of some of the recent Presidential rhetoric. In his reply, Obama said, “I think it’s fair to say that during the course of my Presidency I have bent over backwards to work with the Republican Party, and have purposely kept my rhetoric down.”

Can you believe it? The most divisive, vitriolic, partisan President we’ve had in years claims that he has “bent over backwards” to work with Republicans and that he’s actually “kept my rhetoric down.” Calling your opponents extortionists, arsonists, extremists and other choice epithets is apparently Obama’s idea of keeping his rhetoric down.

After hearing his ludicrous claim, I looked very closely at my TV screen. To my amazement, Obama’s nose didn’t grow a bit. It should have shot out so far that it knocked his interviewer off his chair.

Another whopper the President has repeated numerous times is that before today, raising the debt limit has never been a subject of negotiation between the White House and Congress. Or as Obama likes to put it, the debt limit has never been used “to extort a president or a government party.”

His Treasury Secretary, Jack Lew, has repeated the same nonsense, saying “until very recently, Congress typically raised the debt ceiling on a routine basis… the threat of default was not a bargaining chip in the negotiations.”

The truth is exactly opposite of Obama’s claims. Time and time again, Congress has demanded — and gotten — compromises from whoever was sitting in the White House (whether Republican or Democrat) before agreeing to raise the debt ceiling. According to the Congressional Research Service, Congress raised the debt ceiling 53 times between 1978 and today. Of those, in only 26 cases, or less than half of the time, were no conditions attached.

Even in cases where other stipulations were included in the debt increase, some members of Congress refused to go along with the deal. Such was the case in 2006, when then-Senator Obama voted against raising the debt limit. Listen to what the two-faced dissembler said back then:

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

I couldn’t have said it better myself. We do deserve better. By the way, when the hypocritical Obama delivered those remarks, the debt ceiling was being raised to $8.965 trillion. Today, after five years of his trillion-dollar annual deficits, the debt ceiling stands at $16.7 trillion. And that’s not high enough for the big spenders in his administration. Talk about putting more burdens “onto the backs of our children and grandchildren.”

But the battle over raising the debt ceiling is just one area where we are being deluged with lies. Another is Obamacare. Remember all those Presidential promises that the measure would lower premiums for most Americans — and that if you liked your present health insurance, you could keep it? Turns out (surprise, surprise) neither one of these Presidential promises is true.

Now that the program has officially been launched, it’s turning out to be even more of a disaster than its worst critics predicted. The program’s apologists claimed that the system suffered repeated and near-total crashes on its Oct. 1 launch day because of its popularity. “[I]t’s sort of a great problem to have,” gloated Kathleen Sebelius, the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Hardly.

The Covered California website claimed that it got more than 5 million hits on Oct. 1. Turns out that the number was inflated by more than 4 million; the actual count was 645,000.

And how many of those folks actually signed up for the government-mandated health insurance? Oops, supposedly the administrators won’t be able to get that information to us for a few more weeks.

What a crock! Of course, they can tell, minute by minute and second by second, exactly how many people have signed up. Can you imagine any private business trying to tell you that it doesn’t know how many orders its website has logged? (And a lot of those handle far more transactions every hour than even the most glowing claims for the ones taking orders for Obamacare.)

The fact that they won’t tell us how many sign-ups they’ve received suggests that the number is incredibly low. How low? Well, in at least some States, the number of successful applicants on Day One seems to be… zero. Yes, that’s even true of Sebelius’ home state of Kansas. My, that’s got to be a bit embarrassing.

So a system that took three years to create and cost untold millions of dollars can’t even tell how many orders it received? If that had been a private business, you can bet that heads would have rolled the next day. But in government, there is no penalty for failure — at least not on the participants. It’s only the taxpayers who have to cough up the dough to pay for all of this. And pay and pay and pay.

The final Big Lie I want to mention this morning concerns all of those “catastrophic consequences” that will occur if Congress doesn’t raise the debt ceiling by next Thursday. Of course that is absolute bunk. No matter what happens in the current standoff between the White House and the Congress, billions of tax dollars will continue to flow into the Federal Treasury every day. There will be enough money to pay every penny of interest on the national debt many times over.

Yes, there will be a shortfall between how much money the Federal government receives and how much it wants to spend. But if government expenditures could be cut back to what they were when Obama first assumed office, we wouldn’t have to borrow a single dollar to pay them. Just think of it: Washington could be forced to live within a budget. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

The assertion that the United States will have to default on its debt is just one of the many big lies Obama and his supporters are using, in a heavy-handed effort to browbeat Congress into giving them what they want.

But there are encouraging signs that more and more Americans are catching on to how we’re being played for suckers. According to the latest polls, a majority of Americans are ready to say “no more!” to automatically raising the debt ceiling without significant spending cuts.

Let’s hope they’ll remember this next November, when we’ll get a chance to replace a lot of the folks who are pushing us closer and closer to fiscal disaster. Topping the list for me is Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see him forced to retire?

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

“…keep some powder dry”, Cheep Wood says, over and over—-that way it is fresh when he snorts it into his head to fire more of his nonsense.

You can discern the truth by simply adopting the opposite of what he says, in my experience. That is not a joke, it is generally true.

BTW, I devised a very simple way to decide who to vote for in any election. Find out who is endorsed by the ACLU, the teachers and big labor, and vote for the opposite. No need to research the candidate, those organization have already done it in depth. Saves a lot of time.

You are really ignorant here & have been deceived & mesmerized by this phony…you confuse meeting with them with actually listening to them….style over substance, you understand? He knows how to play the game, so it looks good, but he never has any intention of using any of their ideas…He had that luncheon with Repubs. before O-Care was crafted and the GOP put forth the two most crucial ideas needed to lower rates before healthcare reform goes forward (1) Tort reform & (2) open purchases of insurance across state lines….ZIPPO chance with Obummer who is in bed with lawyers & Big Pharma & Big Insurers! All his actions are politically motivated for him & his party to gain more power..the people & their suffering mean nothing to him, the fragile state of the economy means nothing!

How about budgets? In violation of federal law, the DEMs (since they control Senate) have obligation to pass a budget & have not passed one budget, thus Obummer is 1st prez never to have passed a budget. May I remind all that he put forth 2 budgets that got NOT ONE VOTE FROM HIS OWN PARTY, in these most partisan times in DC. But Paul Ryan put forth 2 very sensible budgets in that time & if Obummmer was a real leader he would’ve worked with the GOP & ironed out an agreement..but, hey, if your aim is to bankrupt the nation, a budget is a pesky thing. If there was a budget, there would not be shutdown now…so whose fault is it?

With media in his back pocket, he can do whatever he wants, say whatever he wants with virtually no repercussions, and it is exacerbated by his delusional Messianic & bullying personality & all his sycophants telling him how wonderful he is!

All big time pols lie & distort & spin somewhat, but this BUM has taken it to another level, way beyond anyone else…it is quite astonishing & again can only be done because of his cheerleaders in media!

The real problem is the American voting citizens. They hear all that is going on now and then between now and the next election they allow the news media help them forget. They are too busy to get involved they way a good citizen should. They have memories way too bad and too short to remember the important issues and then they go to the poll to vote and because they have seen the incumbents name so often it is the only one they recognize so that is who they vote for. Add a little voter fraud to that and guess what, you have Obama in the White House again. Just be careful folks, “Marshall Law” is sitting on his oval office desk waiting to be declared which will stop the next election. Do you really want that? The time for action is NOW!

I watch news on all stations and I have noticed that M.S.N.B.C. has no conservative people or contributors like Fox on a daily basis. When they do ask a conservative for their opinion they won’t let them complete their thought, thy always interrupt them before they finish. I wondered why they did this so I talked to a psychiatrist about people that always interrupt others in these situations. The answer was that these people do not have faith that their view will withstand the scrutiny when weighed against another point of view so they don’t want to be challenged. Says it for me. On the other hand Fox has liberal contributors on every day on all it’s news and allows them to speak their piece. Get the point?

Does Obama know the truth ? My guess is no he does not because he doesn’t seem to speak it. If you look back, at the events and then read what he’s saying it obvious he’s completely delusional. I don’t believe a word of it, and not because Obama is saying it but because I’ve lived it and there is not a shred of truth in those statements. I think what really bothers me is if you turn on the radio or television is that these mainstream media reporters are pushing this same BS, do they think we are that stupid? Seriously we are living through this, we are living through the do as I say not as I do scenario of Obama, We are living through the temper tantrums, We are living through the scandals. A perfect example is this obamacare, over bloated over inflated bill that obama wants to push on me but in the same sentence excludes himself, his staff, congress and many others than lies about what it really is, a tax. A tax that the IRS is going to enforce this same IRS that was targeting conservatives, and we are supposed to trust them? If you read about this obamacare you hear the deductibles are outrageous, and the coverage is lackluster at best.. yet its pushed down our throats as the best thing ever. Its not its another example of government trying to force their desires on the American people and using the excuse it will help the unfortunate as their ploy to push this thing through. Sorry but when the government tells me I have to have something I am suspicious. When Obama lies and I know the truth I am irritated, what kind of example is he? He’s not a very good one, so to show corrupt politicians we’ve had enough lets make an example of Obama and remove him from our white house.

When you have people who write your speech for you and then you used a teleprompter, the world thinks your the best speaker in the world. But with live television and tape showing, people see the real imposter in the White House. People who never really took the time to listen our now saying, my God this guy is really bad and can’t tell the truth. Welcome to Chicago politics America. This man was elected on a lie from day one and as lied to what his fundamental transformation of America really is. A man who stood before America said he would be transparent and bring people together is nothing more the a Marxist. The only way to get Obama out of office is elect Republican Senate next year, giving both the Congress and the Senate to Republicans. Then and only then can we Impeach this imposter in the White House. So America it’s up to you to make this 2014 a year for historians to remember, when the people said we had it and want our nation back.

In the words of Senator Rand Paul (I believe it was him ), I know he’s lying cause his lips moved! The tragedy about BHO is BHO. I caught Chris Mathews on MSNBC yesterday, he must have really been caught with his pants down at some time cause he is just out of this world in love with BHO. His love of Obamacare is illogical, he has become a very weak minded thinker let alone a relative host of a commentary broadcast, you’d think from listening to him that the country is all signed up already. The latest from yesterday’s news reports, is a few thousand ( I personally don’t put it past the government to create factious accounts themselves, as there has been no reports from individual (citizen) saying they got through and are all signed up). What is reported is that people, after finding out how much more it will cost them, leave the site hoping for something to change the financial catastrophe this will bring upon themselves and their family. And where are the reports from the 26 and up’s for which the whole foundation of affordability is based upon, why have they not signed up yet? I think we all know the answer and so does BHO and the libs… Obamacare ain’t free!

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. Americans deserve better.”
    – Barack Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro

What is really, really hard to understand is how so many, supposedly educated, Tax Paying Citizens believe every single lie that this person espouses every time he opens his mouth. It is absoutely unbelievable how he can look into the camera lens and tell lie, after lie, after lie and still be believed by so many people of different Countries and Localities. Just my personal thoughts. Thank you for your time. TSgt., USAF Retired.

    • smilee

Your opinion and it is mostly inaccurate

Chip, you say “that if government expenditures could be cut back to what they were Obama assumed office we wouldn’t have to borrow a single dollar to pay them,”
That’s strange! bush sought and received ceiling hikes the last 7 years he was in office> He wasn’t paying the expenditures his last year or any year> So the problem did not start with OBAMA ! if bush was still borrowing and begging when left office leaving Obama with two wars to finance and an economy on it’s knees> That’s three great EXPENDITURES that bush didn’t face when he took office. SEE THE DIFFERENCE?? 69 MILLION AMERICANS SAW IT 2008! HOW DID YOU MISS IT??

    • smilee

Despite what Chip says, the american people elected him twice decisively so his words are mostly sour grapes coming from and to losers. Only five presidents have been elected to two or more terms and in two elections or more elections received over half the votes the rest. have not and they are Jackson. FDR, Eisenhower, Reagan and Obama. He is in very good company and that is what the american people have bestowed on him. Chip is expressing the opinion of a small minority so it means little.

And a recent AP poll show an Obama job approval rating of just 37%, only one percentage point above Bush at his lowest. Would this be the small minority you’re referring to? Looks like the whole country is waking up to the fact that we’re all losers.

        • smilee

Electoral College elected him both times and he received in both elections more than half the popular votes in both elections which only four other presidents have been able to do so that means 39 out of 44 did not. Your a whiner and a loser and most understand you are wrong.

          • Don 2

We’re all losers with Obama, and now 63% of Americans have become aware of that fact.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Only 20% of Americans voted for Obama. So 20% of the population is dictating how to spend everybody else’s money, including children and unborn children who didn’t even get a say in the matter.

there is a solution you know
cut way back on the military (US spends more then next 10 countries combined)
stop subsidies to oil companies, factory farming, political action group tax deductions, all church related tax deductions(except for feeding and clothing the needy)ect, ect, ect
spend half the savings on Education for all (and I mean all)
            balance going toward debt reduction
            stop ANY and ALL lobbying
I know,I know, here we go again
ranting and raving about silly stupid things
PS stop the stupid war on drugs (cost billions & billions)
            your’s truly
            male old &ugly
            Janna

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Our Government shouldn’t be galavanting around the world. And it indeed spends way more on defense than is necessary. There should be no subsidies of any kind from the Government and no charity of any kind. It’s not their money to give. And you can bet that most of that money goes to their favorite charity — themselves.
I’d get rid of income tax. That would take care of the deduction issue.
I’d get the Federal Government out of education altogether. It’s not their business.
Don’t kid yourself about Debt Reduction. The history of Government is to spend any new revenues they acquire as soon as they get them.
We can’t call ourselves Free and stop people from Lobbying Government. But we could vote for Libertarians and get Government out of the marketplace, in which case their would be no way for the Politicians to help and protect their Crony Capitalists.
Yes the war on drugs also needs to be abolished. The Government has no business protecting people from themselves. And those who harm other people should be punished the same as those sober people who harm other people.

Obama was elected by less than a two percent margin by illegal aliens, as he threatened every poll-protecting state with lawsuits when they formed their own laws against illegal immigration. Promises of amnesty won him 70% of the “immigrant” votes, and out of that, 100% of the illegally documented vote.

        • smilee

In the second election more in the first. Aliens do not vote I thought you knew that but I guess you are ignorant on that.and if they could vote you would have no way of knowing how they voted. Your talking in circles so I suppose you are dizzy.

          • KennyLLC

            What an idiot.
Fake documentation is notorious in the Latino culture. In some cases, a fake drivers license is sufficient at the voting booth, and in liberal regions it is considered a violation of civil rights to even check suspected illegals.
Even the ICE form for reporting an illegal alien states that you must have documented proof of their undocumented presence, at pain of being charged for a felony.
Go back to your Obamanationalist rallies and cry out in the streets where nobody is listening.

          • smilee

Believe what you like but there is no proof they actually voted, they consider it to risky as that could out themselves and go to jail so it rarely happens but believe what you like, that belief does fit your bias

          • TheOriginalDaveH

And you have no proof that they didn’t vote, Sleepee.

          • smilee

Yes there is as there was very few charged with illegally voting and certainly no where near enough to effect any outcomes. in MN in the Franken-Coleman recount they could not find enough to effect that outcome and Franken won by only 370 some votes. There were 89 fraud convictions if you give them all to Coleman he still loses

          • TheOriginalDaveH

That’s what you call proof, Sleepee? I think it’s time for your nap.

          • smilee

It is proof you lack the intelligence to know it I guess!

          • KennyLLC

Meanwhile, the state of Minnesota recently revoked 10,000 illegal licenses out of 25,000 suspected illegal aliens.

          • KennyLLC

Instead of being a consciouseless objector try reading some news reports every now and then. Minnesota revoked 10,000 drivers licenses issued to illegal aliens this year.
That’s all it takes for them to vote.
Now go join the illegals in protest on the Mall Yard and kick a veteran or two while you’re there, just to see what happens.

Fake Identity Documents – Authentic Numbers
Fake documents are pretty easy to come by. What’s more difficult is to have “real” information to place on the document. Those real social security numbers and driver’s license numbers are a valuable commodity among counterfeiters who usually sell the pair
for $100 per set. Sometimes an illegal can get a friend to loan them their numbers, sometimes they buy the documents from counterfeiters and sometimes they
simply steal the identification anyway they can.
            http://www.usimmigrationsupport.org/illegal-immigrants-legal-identity-documents.html

            Whose gonna prosecute them? Holder?

Whose gonna enforce the law? Holder?

Obama would rather nullify existing immigration laws rather than prosecute immigants for breaking US laws.

Just so ya know…fake ID’s and documents

          • smilee

Want to make one point – If the Press did their job, the results may have been different. The Press in this country are given special privaledges – They need to start doing there job – without be partisan. They need to start being honest about what they report and need to begin reporting what’s going on, Not picking and choosing on what to report.

        • smilee

The press does not vote or count the vote, the people do so your opinion is totally irrelevant

          • TheOriginalDaveH

So Sleepee, if the majority of voters (i.e. the minority of the population) decides that they should confiscate everybody’s home, you would be okay with that?
If the minority of the population that voted for Obama decided all Asians should be shot, you would be okay with that?

          • smilee

            NO

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Then why is it that you’re okay with the majority (in this case actually the minority) voting to help themselves to other people’s money?
The 19th century Plantation Owners would be proud of you, Sleepee.

          • smilee

It is Constitutional so it is OK, I know you do not like the Constitution but most of us do. You equate taxes with slavery?? that shows your even more ignorant than you.have previously exhibited

          • TheOriginalDaveH

            Sleepee,
Save your manipulative techniques for your weak-minded Liberal Progressive buddies. It doesn’t work on me.
Taxes are Slavery. If Government took all our money, I think you’d agree that it is Slavery. So the issue is — How much can they take before it becomes Slavery?
In my mind any amount of Involuntary Servitude is Slavery. Since money reflects our labor, when they take our money against our will they are making Slaves of us.

The press counted the vote in 2000. Bush still won.

          • JeffH

smilee, the fact is that the majority of American’s DO rely on the MSM for most or all of their information, political or otherwise, so yes, the press is not only relevant but is also complicit in partisanship misreporting meant to mislead the public.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”
In other words, their immorality, much like yours, is part of the problem.

Fortunately for some of us American’s we have the internet and websites like PLD to help keep us informed and educated…that and their “liberal comment policy” that allows the ignorant liberal progressives “servants” like yourself to post your irrelevand and inane comments day in and day out.

          • smilee

Does not change the facts in my post, PLD is one of the reasons you are in the dark as it is all propaganda and you buy into such things and ignore real facts,.the web is a source of information and unfortunately it is an easy way to push propaganda as well as the truth and thinking people are able to determine which is which you, however, lack that ability.

          • JeffH

Servant, you make such a compelling arguement…NOT!

What facts, Sleepee? Your comments are rarely anything other than pure conjecture. You don’t ever post any links to back up your nonsense. Is that because you can’t find any, or because you can’t figure out how to post links?

          • smilee

davie you would not recognize a fact if it did not fit into your bias, the facts are there and the open minded see them!!

      • TheOriginalDaveH

20% of the population is not “decisive”, Sleepee, no matter how you rationalize it. The minority is dictating how the majority must live. Even if the majority of people voted to run other people’s lives, it would be morally wrong. You know, Sleepee, Morality — that quality which is rare in Liberal Progressives.

        • smilee

The only solution to your manufactured problem is to do what Australia does, they fine you if you do not vote, Their numbers are much higher but not 100%. You have no respect for those whom choose not to vote and even worse you think that if they did they would all vote like you. Your ridiculous. and there are moral democrats just as there are moral republicans so that is all BS

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Not everybody can vote, Sleepee, yet you mortgage their future. You are a Thief and a Forcer, Sleepee. You would be ashamed of yourself if you had any morality.

it could be said you have the same problem, eh bob.

except, you stated that i am a paid troll.

            you are simply a liar.

which is fairly common amongst the lunatic fringe.

i stated that there was a speculation about you and your site.

the reason(s) the democrats would promote sites like this is rather obvious.

your posters drive more people away from the gop than anything the democrats could ever do.

the cost is far less than any national campaign.

the real danger is that you will drive enough voters away that the democrats gain control of the house, senate and the oval office.

if that is really your intent, you are doing a great job.

          • http://personalliberty.com/ Bob Livingston

            Dear rbrooks,

You write: “it could be said you have the same problem, eh bob.” Not truthfully.

You write: “except, you stated that i am a paid troll. you are simply a liar.” I stated that you are troll. I stated that the regime pays trolls like you. Obviously I can’t prove you are a paid troll, but that you would spend so much time here offering nothing but nonsense and regime propaganda indicates the assumption is a valid one.

You write: “i stated that there was a speculation about you and your site.” And I asked you to provide evidence that this is anything other than something you’ve cooked up. You haven’t.

You write: “your posters drive more people away from the gop than anything the democrats could ever do.” You make a false assumption that I am trying to drive people to the GOP. Why would I want to drive people to the GOP? I have no affiliation or loyalty to the GOP. In my mind there is little difference between the two parties.

You write: “the real danger is that you will drive enough voters away that the democrats gain control of the house, senate and the oval office.” I would think you would support that effort.

            Best wishes,

"the real danger is that you will drive enough voters away that the democrats gain control of the house, senate and the oval office." I would think you would support that effort. <

does that mean you are attempting to put the democrats in charge????

perhaps you could try a bit more thinking and a bit more comprehension.

or do you think the democrats pay trolls to state that all politicians are crooks. even the ones you worship.

or the greatest danger to this country is allowing one party to gain a super majority.

i did not make any false assumption. since you have yet to provide an alternative to the current two party system. when you drive voters away from one party, the other party benefits.

unless you really believe old cruz is a viable alternative? putting him in charge would an interesting debacle to watch.

          • http://personalliberty.com/ Bob Livingston

You write: “unless you really believe old cruz is a viable alternative?” I do not, as I do not believe he is Constitutionally eligible, as I have written before.

          • John Woodbury

Mr. or Ms. Smilee, I see you and Narcissist in Chief, have a lot in common. When you lose an argument you call the other side names and never ever tell the truth. Do not like this site, fine leave! No one is forcing you to stay here, oh that right’s you get paid by the post..

          • smilee

All those idiotic assumptions just shows your lack of the ability to think straight, try using facts instead .what argument do you think I lost?? Oh, just another assumption!!

          • Vigilant

By my count, you hold the record for losing arguments on this site. I can’t recall even one argument you’ve won.

John Woodbury is correct. Your M.O. is as predictable as anything I’ve ever seen. It’s always the same. When pushed for factual backup you inevitably refer, if at all, to something you saw on TV or read a long time ago or heard somewhere.

Another amusing dodge of yours is to be confronted with something you’ve said and then claim you never said it. A variation on that is when you say, “I already answered that” when in fact you haven’t.

The last refuge of the scoundrel you are is, as John Woodbury states, your flight into name calling. You’re quite a piece of work, a rank amateur who is NEVER able to admit error when confronted with the truth.

Hint: “your” Is possessive, “you’re” is the contraction for the words “you are.” Now, do you finally get it, or will you continue to misuse the word “your”?

Answer: he will continue to misuse the word “your.” Hide and watch. This is the clearest evidence of an unteachable bigot.

Mad? Why, I’m the paragon of coolness and aplomb. Far be it from me to urge you to discontinue your display of stupidity. We are all amused, not mad, at your deficiencies in English. Keep it up.

Ignorance is no longer an option. You’ve been told a number of times about your atrocious misuse of the word, but you continue to “shine.” That’s not ignorance, that’s true stupidity.

My pet peeve has always been infidelity to the truth. And that is not limited to one side only. People will tell you that I have often taken issue, and have gotten into some knock-down, drag out arguments with “my own kind.”

I believe whole heartedly in Constitutional Conservatism, but when I see misrepresentations of the truth by self-styled Conservatives, they too come under my sword. I firmly believe that our “cause” speaks for itself, and that bringing in unsubstantiated or outright false points to bolster it is intellectual dishonesty that accomplishes more harm than good.

perhaps if you could win at the voting booth, you could alter the direction of the country. probably not.

the amusing part is watching you faithful fanatics try to convince your selves you represent the vast majority of this country.

you have not been able to convince the rest of the country to vote for your ideals.

I can provide scads of polls, including those conducted by your own leftist pollsters, with a quick Google stroke that defies every lie you make about American sentiment regarding Obamacare.

Of course Obama himself calls it Obamacare. You got a beef with your lord and master?

What happened at the voting booth had much to do with Obamacare, but the election was NEVER a litmus test for American acceptance of it.

When have you seen Conservatives claim that they represent a “vast majority of this country?” We don’t. But neither do the Obamabots.

Note: 51% to 47.2% is not by any means a “vast majority” by any yardstick other than yours.
            .

          • rbrooks

old cruz continues to make the claim.

i did not make any claim that the democrats had a vast majority. it is your lack of comprehension, yet again.

i have yet to see any poll that shows the public is against, or supports, ahca. the polls simply reflect the propaganda surrounding ahca.

            Note: 51% to 47.2%<

what gives. you are still not winning. you are the reason you keep losing.

“i did not make any claim that the democrats had a vast majority. it is your lack of comprehension, yet again.”

Nor did I make that claim, either about you or the Democrats. In fact, I said they DIDN’T make that claim. You and smilee must have been in the same reading comprehension class.

you should keep informed. he claims he is representing conservatives.

that poll reflects the propaganda. and nothing more. most of those being polled have no clue about insurance. much less ahca.

i did check. ahca is a law. it will take an act of congress to repeal it.

the republicans should have found ways to dilute it's affect.

the democrats should have done a better job of selling it.

            since both failed.

          • Vigilant

My apologies for the gender error.

The term “democracy” is one of the most misused terms in politics, or in general usage for that matter.
There was much correspondence by the Founding Fathers of America with regard to the nature of democracy. Please refer to the writings of Madison especially, and the Federalist Papers.

Democracy is rule by the majority. There is nothing in a democracy that prevents the majority from imposing its will on the minority without regard for individual sovereignty. The minority retains NO rights under a democracy.

Our Constitution established a republic, wherein the majority is free WITHIN LIMITS to pass legislation, but it is severely restricted within those limits.

The Bill of Rights was/is a protection of minority rights. The majority may not infringe upon or pass restrictive laws concerning religious practices, free speech, etc.

Thus, it would be possible to vote in a state religion and non-believers could be forced to pay taxes to that church. That’s why we are a constitutional republic.

The pledge of allegiance does not say, “to the flag and to the democracy for which it stands.”

My eyes are open, You’re just making my point for me — as are most of these people below. This cartoon cites specific dates and events, which makes it far more believable than chip’s statement(s). It provides a concise history of the debt ceiling. Your comment, and those of the 40 people below are almost hilariously infantile in the way you try to insult me while reaffirming your viewpoint.

        • Vis Fac

Let’s see Bragging on your six figure salary working 80 hours a week and having a BS in 2010 (not impressive)

When my children attended college in the 80’s Colleges were back to teaching what was once taught in high school and each ensuing year the curriculum needed to be amended to suit the education level of the next year’s freshmen so I wouldn’t be too proud of that 2010 sheepskin or the six figures. I was earning seven figures in the 70’s without having to put in those 80 hours. and six figures in the 70’s bought a great deal more than your six figures do today.

Let me ask are going to be able to retire or could you survive if and when the economy tanks?

          Something for you to ponder.

“The final Big Lie I want to mention this morning concerns all of those “catastrophic consequences” that will occur if Congress doesn’t raise the debt ceiling by next Thursday. Of course that is absolute bunk. No matter what happens in the current standoff between the White House and the Congress, billions of tax dollars will continue to flow into the Federal Treasury every day. There will be enough money to pay every penny of interest on the national debt many times over.”

Can you substantiate that claim, please?

As I understand it, the debt ceiling (borrowing limit) is essentially placed more on the Treasury, so that in effect; Congress makes promises in spending bills that could exceed this limit, and then the Treasury is held from actually borrowing (through the sale of Treasury Bonds) what is required to meet that budget or spending which Congress has already authorized. This would technically result in default, and damage the credit of the United States, and thus, can see how it might lead to recession when the Treasury is forced to resort to “extraordinary measures” to temporarily finance the government’s expenditures and obligations until a resolution can be reached.

It would seem, if I am right, that while raising the debt ceiling is necessary… what truly needs to happen is a Balanced Budget Amendment that would require Congress not to exceed the same debt ceiling as the Treasury, or other limitation defined by an Act of law.

    • BinRaleigh

Ah! But there is a LAW that requires a balanced budget except in time of war, and when the last budget was passed we were supposedly still at war in Iraq.

Fortunately the Democrats have not allowed a budget to be passed, forcing the US to pass Continuing Resolutions so that annoying law does not apply.

      • TML

“But there is a LAW that requires a balanced budget except in time of war”

I am unaware of such law, do have a source?

        • BinRaleigh

I do not have the exact date of passage, but it was forced into existence by Newt Gingrich, and signed into law by Bill Clinton.

          • TML

Thanks, I’ll look further into that with the lingering question; why isn’t it working? And would a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution itself be more powerful in its effect?

          • Vigilant

There is and has been much talk of balancing budgets without full consideration of what that entails.

Create two budgets, both of which demand tax dollars to fund, but which can be radically different in effect. One establishes a low tax rate to support reasonable spending and the second, more “ambitious” budget, funds five times the spending requirement of the first budget.

The second budget requires confiscatory taxation to balance. The first does not. Both are balanced budgets.

The key is in the amount of spending proposed.

          • TML

Correct, but as Congress already has power to levy taxes within the given framework of the Constitution, a Balanced Budget Amendment, I believe, should and would be targeted specifically toward controlling spending – and even borrowing – as opposed to the other way around (as you describe) an Amendment worded that could require increasing revenue (taxes) to meet ambitious spending.

          • Vigilant

            We are in violent agreement!

          • smilee

It Would not work but an amendment authorizing the president to borrow money to pay for what the congress fails to fund when they pass a law would . This would end these kinds of shenanigans.and not risk default ever.

        • smilee

There is none but the Constitution requires that an appropriations bill be passed before any money can be spent. All gov functions that do not have appropriations passed must shut down and that is what is happening now. Obamacare has appropriations passed so it is not shut down.

        • Chuckb

TML, Ronald Reagan signed the Balanced Budget Act in 1982 passed by Congress, made it the Law of the Land.

          • TML

Taking this into account, along with the Balanced Budget Act passed under Clinton, my research seems to show that both these Acts were limited in scope, and obviously both were ineffective (the national debt actually increased greatly under Reagan). This failure leads me to believe that a properly worded Amendment would be more powerful, and permanent.

    • http://personalliberty.com/ Bob Livingston

      Dear TML,

You write: “what truly needs to happen is a Balanced Budget Amendment that would require Congress not to exceed the same debt ceiling as the Treasury, or other limitation defined by an Act of law.” Neither Congress, the Obama regime nor the Courts currently abide by the Constitution. What makes you think a new law would have any consequence? What needs to happen is return to Constitutional governance and there would be no “debt ceiling problem,” not that there is one anyway. It’s all doublespeak and argle-bargle.

      Best wishes,
      Bob

      • Vis Fac

I agree with you 100% Nothing more true can be said. The fact is that politicians cannot keep their hands out of the cookie jar and accommodate special interests and therefore receive for services rendered (most always discretely and completely off the books) special “gifts of appreciation” indirectly paid for by the American taxpayers.

The fact that current politicians wipe their collective noses with OUR constitution should speak volumes to the American people However apathy and the systematic dumbing down of the population has provided these thugs the opportunity to pillage America for profit. Laws are neither effective or enforced ANY LAWS they are only for show unless a point needs to be made

Asking a politician to adhere to the Constitution is tantamount to having an arsonist extinguish a house fire.

Bob says, “Neither Congress, the Obama regime nor the Courts currently abide by the Constitution. What makes you think a new law would have any consequence? What needs to happen is return to Constitutional governance”

Obviously nothing in our Constitution currently limits appropriations made by Law. So ‘returning to Constitutional governance’ may not fix the problem as described. Are you saying the Congress, Courts, and any past administration has also not abided by the Constitution in order to reach the national debt problem we currently have? Perhaps we need both.

I’m speaking in terms of ‘returning to Constitutional governance’, with the added, and explicit, requirement of Congress to maintain a balanced budget. Texas has such a constitutional barrier (Balanced Budget Amendment), and it seems to be working very well.

Bob says, “and there would be no “debt ceiling problem,” not that there is one anyway. It’s all doublespeak and argle-bargle.”

It is doublespeak, since the term “debt ceiling” is rather misleading. But to say no such problem exists, or would exist if we “returned to constitutional governance’, as I described above regarding national debt, spending limits, or borrowing limits, just isn’t true.

        • http://personalliberty.com/ Bob Livingston

          Dear TML,

As there is in reality no “debt,” what is the relevance of a “debt ceiling?”

          Best wishes,
          Bob

          • TML

I’m not sure what you mean by saying there is, in reality, no debt. 17 trillion seems to be pretty real. The debt ceiling is more properly called a borrowing limit. When you borrow money, it must be repaid, thus it is debt, just like when you use a credit card, borrow money from the bank, or finance your car or home with loan.

          • http://personalliberty.com/ Bob Livingston

            Dear TML,

You write: ” When you borrow money, it must be repaid, thus it is debt, just like when you use a credit card, borrow money from the bank, or finance your car or home with loan.” That is true in the case of an individual, a business, a municipality or a state. If you had a printing press that could print “approved” money, would you have debt? Certainly not. But neither you nor they can create money out of thin air. That is not true of the Federal government. It can and does create fiat money out of thin air. Therefore there is no real “debt.” That is why the amount of “debt” is irrelevant and why the elected psychopaths are engaging in theater but will never address spending or “debt.”

            Best wishes,
            Bob

          • TML

Understood, but I’m not an advocate of printing fiat currency either – which is done at the discretion of the Federal Reserve, rather than Congress… and done without any ‘real’ money backing it; causing the inflation which rapes the wealth of the people – so I don’t consider that as any solution to the debt created by the appropriations passed by Congress.

Such fiat printing is another problem that must be remedied.

          • TML

            Additional thoughts…
Returning to the Constitutional governance would solve the problem regarding the printing of fiat currency with no backing by a central bank that doesn’t answer to the people….

(Article 1, Section 8, Clause 2 – “[The Congress shall have power] To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures;”)

…But this is obviously not the only problem, since of course, most debt is attributed to even Congress printing fiat currency during times of war (which is another factor that could be remedied without a new Amendment, or rather, clarifying Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 in what it means to declare war, and repealing much of the strength given to the Executive in the War Powers Acts, as a result of WWII).

Still, even Thomas Jefferson thought a Balanced Budget Amendment was necessary, and even removing the ability of Congress to borrow money all together, much less having the ability to raise its own ‘credit limit’, and that such an Amendment might actually curtail the ability to make endless wars as we have been engaged in for decades.

“I wish it were possible to obtain a single amendment to our Constitution. I would be willing to depend on that alone for the reduction of the administration of our government; I mean an additional article taking from the Federal Government the power of borrowing. I now deny their power of making paper money or anything else a legal tender. I know that to pay all proper expenses within the year would, in case of war, be hard on us. But not so hard as ten wars instead of one. For wars could be reduced in that proportion; besides that the State governments would be free to lend their credit in borrowing quotas” – Thomas Jefferson; Letter to John Taylor, November 26, 1798 – The Writings of Thomas Jefferson v.10

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Like Bob said, the Federal Government has long ignored the Constitution, so why would you think they’d abide by a Balanced Budget Amendment?
The Problem is not whether or not the budget is balanced, but how much they are spending. Whether the budget was balanced or not, they are spending too much.
With a Balanced Budget Amendment, the Democrats would whine that the Republicans wouldn’t let them raise taxes, and the Republicans would whine that the Democrats wouldn’t let them cut spending. The end result is that they’d proclaim some emergency need to keep the Government going and usurp the controls just like they’ve usurped their Constitutional Powers.
I think a much more productive use of effort would be to abolish the 16th Amendment, the 17th Amendment, the Federal Reserve, and get us back to Free Markets.
After that, if we bothered to pass any new Amendment at all, it should be a National Referendum to determine the total amount that the Federal Government is allowed to spend, and the taxes to pay for that would be apportioned to the states depending on their populations per the Constitution.

          • TML

DaveH says, “Like Bob said, the Federal Government has long ignored the Constitution, so why would you think they’d abide by a Balanced Budget Amendment?”

As I responded to Bob; I’m speaking in terms of returning to Constitutional governance with the added amendment. How we return to constitutional governance is another matter, perhaps even beginning, as you said, with abolishing the 16th and 17th Amendments, and taking from the Federal Reserve the power to print money with no backing, etc.

DaveH says, “The Problem is not whether or not the budget is balanced, but how much they are spending. Whether the budget was balanced or not, they are spending too much. With a Balanced Budget Amendment, the Democrats would whine that the Republicans wouldn’t let them raise taxes, and the Republicans would whine that the Democrats wouldn’t let them cut spending.”

Controlling spending is the most essential, and easiest, part of balancing any budget. I believe any Balanced Budget Amendment should and would be targeted specifically toward controlling spending, and most importantly; borrowing. Such an Amendment would require a non-partisan effort to consider if any spending bill is within the currently available revenue, perhaps even before it can be voted on. Thus any bill that concerns spending must also, by consequence, originate, or be confirmed first, in the House which answers closest to the people.

DaveH says, “The end result is that they’d proclaim some emergency need to keep the Government going and usurp the controls just like they’ve usurped their Constitutional Powers.”

True, but I think such an emergency could only be war. And we certainly have had a lot of them, but it seems mostly Presidential power in declaring national emergency that has led to the many wars following WWII. Perhaps a clarification to Article 1 Section 8 Clause 11 in what it means to declare war is also needed, or other control which repeal much of the power given to the Executive in the War Powers Acts as a result of WWII.

DaveH says, “After that, if we bothered to pass any new Amendment at all, it should be a National Referendum to determine the total amount that the Federal Government is allowed to spend, and the taxes to pay for that would be apportioned to the states depending on their populations per the Constitution.”

I agree; what you just described could even be defined as a Balanced Budget Amendment.

In 1929 the DJIA had risen to all time highs as well. And the president doesn’t “preside” over the stock market except in the kind of statist world you would have us live in. It is affected by many factors.

The current DJIA is largely fueled by the printing of fiat dollars by the Fed, pure and simple. Chronically high double digit unemployment figures, decreased median family income, and inordinate growth in food stamp recipients belie any relationship between the DJIA and the health of the economy.

In negotiations there are three kinds, direct, sidebar and doing it behind the scenes. . Direct, both parties across the table, from each other and the public know they are there and get reports as to progress, sidebar, the public know but gets no reports of any kind. behind the scenes are unknown to the public. There is always behind the scenes and both parties agree to deny that. That is how negotiations work. Not putting something on the table does not mean there is no negotiating just not everything will be talked about.

Obama’s Buddy That He Helped Campaign For: Former Detriot Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick Sentenced To 28 Years

Democrat crook and former mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick, was sentenced today in federal court to 28 years in prison for public corruption, the longest corruption sentence ever handed down to a public official.

Kilpatrick was endorsed by Obama and was once mentioned as a possible candidate for president. Kilpatrick named himself Detroit’s “hip hop mayor” who was “anointed by God to be mayor.” Now he is known as the “worst mayoral leader of the past decade“. Kilpatrick was running a criminal enterprise stealing millions from the city of Detroit, his convictions included tax crimes, racketeering, bribery and extortion.

    CBS Detroit reported:

The judge laid bare the accusations against Kilpatrick of fake jobs for family and friends, lavish parties, pay to play schemes, and secret affairs, saying he “has generally shown little remorse” for a bevy of infractions. She said it was sad he chose to “waste his talent on personal enrichment and aggrandizement,” when he had so many talents that could have helped the city.

Edmunds called it “devastating corruption” that bred a corrosive environment, cynicism and apathy among people who could have been convinced to boost Detroit. “We lost transparency, we lost accountability,” Edmunds said, adding her sentence was meant to show the public demands both.

“That way of doing government is over, it’s done,” she said.

Kilpatrick spoke eloquently in his own defense immediately before the sentence was handed down, giving a lengthy talk full of apologies and self-reflection in a subdued voice that riveted the packed courtroom and overflow room…

NO NEED TO DELAY OBAMACARE; IT WILL COLLAPSE ON ITS OWN!

Obamacare computer code riddled with typos, Latin filler text, desperate programmer comments and disastrous architecture…

The real story on the catastrophic IT disaster known as Healthcare.gov is only now beginning to be recognized by the nation. As a person with a strong IT background running large R&D projects, I was among the very first to claim that Healthcare.gov is not just broken, it’s DOA because of critical design failures.

It’s not merely a “glitch.” It’s way beyond a SNAFU. This is the defining failure moment of the delusional thinking of democrats and their fantasyland government-centralized economy.

Even ABC News is now calling Healthcare.gov, “nothing short of disastrous,” adding, “Media outlets have struggled to find anyone who has been successful.”

My analysis of the Javascript running Healthcare.govI have personally looked at the Javascript code running part of the Healthcare.gov website. If you are curious how I got the code, I simply typed the URL of the Javascript code into the browser address field. The browser then pulls up the entire code block, because Javascript is client-side code (not server-side).

What I am seeing in this code is nothing short of jaw-dropping. As people are now saying, this code is “CRAAAAAZY!” You almost can’t even call it Javascript code. If you sat down 100 monkeys in front of 100 typewriters and told them to start banging away, I’m confident at least one of them would come up with something far better than the Healthcare.gov Javascript code.

In fact, I am practically ROFLMAO just looking at this code. Any competent programmer in the world, upon seeing this, would just burst their britches in knowing the U.S. government spent $600+ million dollars on this project. Inside the code, the Javascript programmer comments are just off-the-charts hilarious. Comments found in the code include (yes, these are actual text comments from the script):

“TODO: add functionality to show alert text after too many tries at log in”

“make sure we don’t try to do this before the saml has been posted if (window.registrationInitialSessionCallsComplete)”

“Attention: This file is generated once and can be modified by hand”

“Fill In this with actual content. Lorem Ipsum”

“TODO: maybe modify the below to use a similar method instead”

Riddled with typos and errors in the error messages, the code is also full of juvenile typos such as “‘Misssing Password” and “This is not a valid organazation ID.” Seriously, was this written by eighth graders?

Even error messages contains their own errors, such as “‘Exception in [sic] retreiving REInsurance Plan by criteria.”

It also contains brain-dead user instructions such as:

“You need to send the Marketplace proof that you are not enrolled in Medicaid or the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Examples of documents you can send include Letter from Medicaid or CHIP.” (Yeah, right. Can you imagine calling Medicaid and asking for a letter stating that you are NOT enrolled in Medicaid?)

“Verify [FN]’s SSN and date of death, if applicable”

“Check all attestations before submitting your application.”

“Send the Marketplace proof that [FN] isnt incarcerated (detained or jailed) by [Date].”

Do you speak Gujarati?Although this Healthcare.gov computer code fails to function it does however support the language known as “Gujarati.” According to an online encyclopedia, “Gujarati is an Indo-Aryan language, native to Gujarat, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli in India. It is part of the greater Indo-European language family. Gujarati is derived from Old Gujarati (1100–1500 AD) which is the ancestor language of the modern Gujarati and Rajasthani languages, and is the chief language in the state of Gujarat.”

Latin filler textLaughably, the application code is also riddled with Latin used as filler text. For example, one line of code actually says:

resources[‘ffe.ee.myAccount.home.specialEnrollment.description2′] = ‘Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.’

Latin is used by programmers as filler / placeholder text for unfinished applications. The fact that this Latin is found in the code is yet more proof that the entire system never even entered Alpha testing, much less Beta testing or an official release. This is pre-alpha code requiring possible YEARS of development for final release.

Bizarre error messages also found in Obamacare codeError messages written into the code leave no doubt that the people who wrote the code are masters of chaos and confusion. Here are just a few of the error message I found by casually scrolling through the Javascript publicly posted on the Healthcare.govwebsite:

    “Exception in inconsistency adjudication process”

“Notices are official messages that lorem ipsum.”

“Exception in triggering the Inconsistency Clock Service” (By the way, this error message confirms I was right in my public prediction about the system suffering from time clock synchronization errors.)

“Not Acceptable – Queried enrollment group plan is empty OR Selected plan doesnt existException in calling RetrieveNonFaPlanReviewConfirmDetails service”

“Please wait a few minutes and try again.” (Uh, 10 million people tried that already…)

And here’s our favorite, which claims that your application can’t be processed because somehow gremlins behind the curtain are going to “make sure you get the lowest cost…”

We cant finish your application now — its going to take us a little longer to make sure we get you the lowest possible costs. We will contact you again soon with more information. If you have questions, please call us at 1-800-318-2596 (TTY: 1-855-889-4325).

Truly disastrous architecture calls over 1,000 resources just to load one pageEven though I have only seen the public Javascript code and not the server-side processing code, the Javascript itself is truly disastrous — on an epic scale.

For example, the Javascript file loaded for each user transfers all error messages, form field messages and front-end error messages from the server to the user’s browser repeatedly for each cultural language supported by the system.

In other words, the entire set of error messages is hard-coded into the Javascript for English, then again for German, then again for French, Spanish, and so on, all the way through Gujarati and who knows how many other unheard-of languages.

I don’t even know how to begin to tell you how disastrously idiotic such a design is. It practically guarantees a critical server crash under any kind of real user load. No programmer with an IQ above 100 would design js code in such a manner. This code was designed and written by utterly incompetent people who have built into the system exactly the kind of architecture that will make it fail if anyone tries to use it.

When HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says this code is “functioning,” she’s actually painting a giant “dunce” sign on her forehead. This code is so far from functioning that all the government programmers in the world couldn’t make it work smoothly by January 1.

Was Healthcare.gov designed to fail? It’s almost as if the entire system has been designed to fail. There is no rational justification for writing code like this. It’s like someone held a contest to find out “who can write the most inefficient, wasteful computer code” and Healthcare.gov won the top prize!

And yet, at the same time, this project perfectly reflects the foundational philosophy of the Obama administration: sell the dream to get elected, then screw everybody when it comes to implementation.

It also forces you to ask the question: To what lengths will Obama go to try to cover-up this disastrous mess by causing some other crisis as a distraction?

I assure you this system has zero chance of smoothly functioning by January 1, 2014. And that means a massive public backlash is on the way.

As the truth comes out on this, the Obama administration is going to be embarrassed like nothing else we’ve ever seen in the history of government.

This failure is so monumental, so critical, and so disastrous that it discredits not just Obama but the entire socialist fantasy of government-run, centrally-planned economies.

Healthcare.gov is the ultimate argument for a free market run without government interference. It epitomizes the incompetence of Washington D.C. like nothing else in history.

      • Jana

It was supposed to originally cost around $94 million and has so far has ended up costing $684 million to get this program up and running, and it still isn’t up and running correctly. AND we expect them to make ACA to work efficiently? I DON’T THINK SO.!!!!

        • ladagosta

yep more lies more wasted money.. what can we expect poor planning on ones part does not constitute a crisis on mine.. thank you very much PASS.. I am reading now the facts of Obamacare.. but the bottom line is health care is not answered by insurance.. it is only controlled and delayed and denied more by having insurance so if the issue and true concern is health care for every one mandating insurance is not the right answer it is cheaper to pay cash to a doctor and get treatment that way then to go through an insurance company.. they delay and divert treatment mandating people go to PT which most often than not delays recovery or make you have tests and what not to run your bill up more.. insurance is NOT THE RIGHT answer to health care.. a program that is designed to raise funding and provide payment to the provider is health care.. not allowing insurance to handle our lives and mandating that all be covered by Insurance .. it just makes little to no sense..putting a middle man in there,, some business deal going on here behind the scenes .. all our foreign affairs have thrown our country down the drain and now they want to ruin it from within as well had we keep all our industries within our own country instead of out-sourcing we would not have this many people unemployed presently .. but again too many chiefs and not enough Indians making deals all over the map and too interconnected with every one and indebted to everyone .. wow what a gigantic mess we have now.. amazing

    • Merle Dickey

Thank you so much for your work. You have obviously read most of the ACA(and it sounds like a real job).I have only read parts and my head was swimming! But in short I got the feeling that they don’t really care whether it fails or not. But he (they) have managed to waste over a trillion of the US dollars that could have been used in creating jobs to build this country up not tear it down.

The Alabama Supreme Court May Collapse Obama’s House Of Cards

What’s been the biggest obstacle in challenging Obama’s eligibility in court?

It’s been finding a judge who isn’t afraid to allow the merits of the case against Obama to be argued in court. The Alabama Supreme Court might just be different. In an earlier case before the Alabama Supremes, Associate Judge Tom Parker stated that “McInnish has attached certain documentation (Joe Arpaio’s investigation) to his mandamus petition, which, if presented to the appropriate forum as part of a proper evidentiary presentation, would raise serious questions about the authenticity of both the ‘short form’ and ‘long form’ birth certificates of President Barack Hussein Obama that have been made public.”

Here, we have a judge who actually recognizes that the fake birth certificates are a serious issue and should be addressed. Now we have a new case before the Alabama Supreme Court. This case is McInnish/Goode v. Beth Chapman (SOS). It is being handled by famous attorney Larry Klayman. Also, it will be the first and only civil case in which Joe Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse is personally involved. Chief investigator for Arpaio Mike Zullo has written a 200 point affidavit to this court and has agreed to testify in person. Zullo will show the court that the “picture” of the long form birth certificate is a 100% digitally created fake.

Now comes even better news. In the 2012 elections, Alabama elected Judge Roy Moore as the Chief Justice of her Supreme Court. In an earlier interview concerning the case against Terry Lakin, Justice Moore stated that he not only thought that Lt. Col Lakin had a right to question Obama’s eligibility, but had a duty to do so.

My guess at how that 37% divides up:
(*) 18% traitors to US (or non-citizens — given opposition of bh0 and 0bama to voter-ID, which is used in all other countries with real elections)
(*) 10% permanently impaired by Dhimmicrud koolaid
(*) 9% on Dhimmicrud koolaid, but not yet permanently impaired.

This “empty suit” has to be stopped from completing his diabolical agenda of divide and conquer, that he has openly put in place with the help of the lame stream media that just recite from his script, and after whatever charges he makes to vilify any deserter on national news stations like ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN, you will never hear a rebuttal against his statements or a defense of any kind, just the Word According To Obama!

This deceptive little exercise of partial shutdown was never really about his
ridiculous doomed ObamaScare, it was strictly a POWER PLAY about raising the debt ceiling to enforce his lagging approval ratings.

What kind of a leader that claims to want to improve the lives of its citizens creates punishments like closing national parks and monuments, even the
Statue of Liberty, furloughs almost a million civilian government workers,
tries to stop death benefits to soldiers families that were killed protecting his sorry butt, as well as now threatening to stop paying disability and pensions to our military!

Is there really any doubt how much this arrogant and malevolent outsider
really hates this country and everything it stands for.

You might notice that none of these punishments that he has inflicted on us,
was necessary at all and will end up costing us more than if he had not used
it as another one of his scare tactics like the immature spoiled child that he is
to show how much power he has, hopefully to bring up his approval rating
of a dismal 37% or lower.

Poor Chip, did you buy some fresh Depends?

The so-called “debt Ceiling” was properly explained by our President, Mr Obama, in an article from the Washington Post. What the President said is:

And because it’s called raising the debt ceiling, I think a lot of Americans think it’s raising our debt.It is not raising our debt. This does not add a dime to our debt. It simply says you pay for what Congress has already authorized America to purchase, whether that’s the greatest military in the world or veterans’ benefits or Social Security. Whatever it is that Congress has already authorized, what this does is make sure that we can pay those bills.[The Washington Post, 10/8/13]

Sooooo Chip, i guess YOU are the Liar. That’s OK, because FOX noise reported the same exact article you wrote and repeated it for their last 24 hour news cycle. As pResident ‘W’ quoted so well:

“…in my line of work you gotta keep repeating things over and over and over again, for the truth to sink in. You gotta catapult the propaganda.”

    Josef Gobbles would be proud!

    • John Woodbury

Wow KG “stupid is as stupid does” but you out done yourself trying to defend the indefensible. If it does not raise the National Debt why do we need to raise the limit?

      • KG

Are you capable of reading? Did you read the Presidents response? Do you understand that the “debt ceiling” is a made-up term by the Republicans? I’ll let the worshipful Master explain it since you can’t seem to grasp what’s going on here:

Remember, what he says He will Never do is what the republicans are doing now!

        • John Woodbury

“The U.S. debt ceiling history began way back in 1917 with the Second Liberty Bond Act, which helped finance the United States’ entry into World War I. Since then Congress has raised the statutory limit on the amount of U.S national debt dozens of times.

Here’s a look at the debt ceiling history, based on White House and congressional data”. Hmm seems like the term was in use for quite a while.

If increasing the debt cap is not needed then why do it? Because President Obama plans on doing so.

        • Vigilant

The debt ceiling was properly explained by Senator Obama in 2006:

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can not pay its own bills. Americans deserve better.” – Senator Obama, 2006

To use your words, “Are you capable of reading? Did you read the [Senator’s] response?”

“Sooooo [KG], i guess YOU are the Liar.”

KG’s rule of thumb is that no matter how many times Obama flip-flops on an issue, the latest statement is the “true” one. Pitiful.

Obama must have had an epiphany when Allah appeared to him in a vision and told him that what was once “a sign of leadership failure” no longer applies.

          • KG

So, i guess you are willing to live the rest of your life on your own financial ability? Are you ready to give up your or your parents Social Security so we can go to war again?

The Not-so-Artful Dodger, KG, tries to move the conversation in another direction. This time I’ll not let you do it.

I gave you Obama 2006 and Obama 2013. The least you can do is tell me which one is the real Obama, and then explain how he is anything more than a political hack.

He made two diametrically opposed statements on a subject so very crucial to our nation’s survival. Tell me how any sentient human being can read those statements and not find something so selfish and morally offensive in a man who will say whatever suits his personal ambition at any given time, to the detriment to the nation’s interest.

All I know is he’s a Democrat. That’s all I need to know!

So, did the debt money we spent in Iraq was OK, but the Debt Money we needed to spend to keep America going, that was ‘wasted’?

How about Peace “loving” and ANTI-war Democrats spending money on:

            – War in Afghanistan?
            – Arming Al-Qaeda in Syria?
            – Arming Mexican Drug Cartels (Fast & Furious)?
            – NSA’s domestic and international spying programs?
            – Funding Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt?
            – ALL lawsuits brought by this administration against the States?
            – Wasting on the O’Care Website’s (Healthcare.gov) cost $634,320,919 taxpayers money and still not working. The cost was expected to run “up to” $93.7 million
            http://www.drudge.com/news/172881/obamacare-website-cost-almost-23-billion

List is going on and on and on.

Why wouldn’t you be objective, KG? BOTH parties are traitors: Democrats by ideology; Republicans by Chickeness (cowardice) Both sold country and People for and by different motives.

What is in the party’s Name, KG, that you cherish so Deeply?

          • KG

The Democrat Party does have a bit of a reputation as an ‘anti-war’ political party, especially when it comes to wars of choice, or for profit like the Iraqi war under W.

I remember the day I heard of Americas invasion of Afghanistan. I really thought maybe we could get this right this time. It seemed almost too good to be true. First, the ‘conservatives’ ordered the Special Ops guys to shave their beards so they looked more ‘American’ – which did nothing for their personal pacification of the indigenous peoples ‘hearts and minds’ they were winning for the Western world. And then the false propaganda war that Colin Powell was forced to regurgitate onto the world so as to justify Bushes ‘oil’ war, or Cheneys profit sharing plan with the Texas oil industry.

The arming of Al-queda – a CIA created and controlled entity – is almost the same as arming the Muslim Brotherhood – another CIA created and controlled entity. Both organizations were originally tasked with fighting Global Communism using ex-nazi agents from Operation Paperclip. However, due to our recent missteps in the global war against ‘Terrorism’, it would appear we made enemies out of our staunchest allies against Communism.

Fast and Furious – a Republican planned and financed program started under W and discovered and sabotaged after Mr Obamas election to the Presidency.

Obamacare was supposed to be a single payer program much like Medicare, but due to the propaganda program done by the Republicans and their co-conspirators, it was sabotaged and made inept at the mercy of Republicans in the House.

What was the last war America actually won? It was World War two – the one run by a liberal Democrat.

Democrats know how to win wars.

KG, The Democrat Party has a reputation as a Party of the bunch of Godless LIARS when it comes to ANYTHING. submitted into Congressional records on Jan 10th, 1963. For at least last 50 years the Lefts actively worked in the shadows and behind the scene moving people and the values of this country in the direction that was DESIGNED TO DESTROY this country.

Read through these communist goals written over 50 years ago and you’ll see that the Leftists did accomplished almost every single one of the 45 communist goals, or on its way to accomplish and nobody seems to notice it???
And we still talk about “a reputation of the political party”.

NONE party has any credibility. Both parties are conspirators and traitors, collaborators in EVIL.

And it’s funny when many conservatives are pointing that America ALWAYS fought Kommunism, that Reagan defeated Kommunism in the Eastern Block, but are dismissing that under their noses Kommunism were marching all over in America. It did not happen with the obama’s coming. It just speeded.

And papaya head Karl Rove is pushing and preparing the third Bush (Jeb) for the presidency. And only Tea Party can and will stop them

            3) You are right: Al-Qaeda and MBH are CIA creations. But you are wrong that they were created to fight Kommunism. Under “Kommunism” they meant Soviet Union.

By the same token they also know how to bog down in a war with no end (Truman – Korea) and to lose a war the military could have won (JFK/LBJ – Vietnam) As far as the stated objectives–get Saddam out of Kuwait and then get Saddam OUT, both those wars were also won. But hey the Democrats can claim them too since they voted in favor of them which is something that distinguishes President Bush from Obama. Obama threatened to start a war without Congressional approval where Bush had gone to Congress and build bipartisan support.

          • KG

CHECK YOUR FIRE! The first gulf war was actually done through the UNITED NATIONS. Since Congress devolved it’s power of declaring war to the President, it was George Herbert Walker Bush that wanted to have the ‘kinder, gentler’ war done through UN auspices. And it was ended in a forced ‘stalemate’ to prevent the Russians from nuking us. And if you really really think we could have won the war in Vietnam then I feel sorry for you. What we should have done was support Uncle Ho against the French.

          • gelliott

            KG,

So, spending money we don’t have is not the problem. It’s what you spend the money on. So, the reasoning goes like this, “if Republicans can spend money on programs they think are important, Democrats should be able to do it also.” Is that right? That’s terrible reasoning, especially if you care about maintaining a financially responsible sustainable government. Keep in mind that defense program budgets are
discretionary and can be, and are often cut. The social safety net programs are never cut, or even really trimmed since they are all on “auto-pilot.” Basically, our current safety net programs are so large now that they can’t be sustained under almost
any scenario you can come up with…..that don’t eventually break the back of our economy………..and corrupt the culture.

          • KG

The money that Democrats want to spend on will actually help the American People rather that enriching a few like the tax cuts of Bush did.

Social programs have been cut. Every time that inflation goes up without an increase in benefits, those benefits are being cut. If minimum wage kept pace with Inflation, it would be about 25 dollars an hour.

          • Robert Messmer

So please tell us how spending money on guns for Mexican Drug Cartels, arming international terrorists in Syria, supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, electrifying Africa (lets not forget previous Aid programs that worked so well like the success in Somalia) and suing States to prevent them from protecting themselves against the invasion of illegal criminals that the Administration refuses to deal with will actually help the American People?

          • KG

If the job is done Union, I don’t see anything wrong with it!

          • gelliott

            KG,

Giving people “stuff” from the forcible taxation of others only helps the people getting the “stuff” if they really need it, and there is absolutely no other way for them to get what they need. When they can get the help they need from individuals and private organizations, the spirit of the Giver and Receiver are
both strengthened because the people who give (voluntarily) know who they are giving to and that it is given for a good purpose, while those receiving the
help know who is giving and show appreciation to the Givers. On the other hand, when the government
forcibly takes money (taxes) from people to give to other people in the name of “charity” the spirit of both the Giver and Receiver are weakened because the
Giver does not voluntarily give to the needy, nor does he know who the needy are, or if they really are needy, while the Receiver doesn’t know who the
Givers are, so any appreciation for the gift goes to the government, not the Givers. Further, the Givers know that giving to the needy through government programs is very inefficient and often corrupt, so helping the needy through government social welfare programs is
about the worst type of “charity” possible.

Yes, you’re right about inflation. Inflation is caused by the devaluation of the USD, which is caused by printing money out of “thin air” to pay government
debt, and running a negative current account balance with foreign countries. I wish my income had kept up with inflation as well, but raising the minimum wage won’t help me or anyone other than the unions. It probably hurts young workers and unskilled low income workers the most.

          • KG

The reality is that Democrats want people to earn their money through hard work and fair wages. That’s why the Government spends money on bridges and highways. By paying workers a premium, the economy is enriched from the bottom. It’s only through this path that general prosperity can be generated. Any money earned by the bottom workers eventually makes it to the top. That’s why the REAL ‘job creators’ are American workers.

          • gelliott

            KG,

Hard work and fair wages are good things. However, it should be up to the market to determine what fair wages are, not the government. Further, workers should be paid a premium when they deliver premium work which produces premium results. Otherwise, the premium is just a waste of money which creates no positive value to the economy or the companies that employ them. “Real job creators” are companies that create value for their customers, and employees who work for those
            companies.

          • KG

No, it really should be up to the workers and Management during collective bargaining that should determine wages. The Government is there to PROTECT the citizen (worker) from abuse and to act as a referee. The Government, as a Government ‘…of, by and for the People…”, should have the power to establish minimum wage laws so as to provide an absolute bottom to work up from.

Why was America so prosperous during the 1950’s? It was from a well-paid Union workforce. When the Rich have all the money, you have what we have now in America – no growth. But when the real job creators have money (the middle-class worker) everybody benefits.

          • gelliott

            KG,

Unions had leverage in the 1950’s to negotiate good deals for their members (and themselves) because American industry was strong and supplying
products to rebuild the world after WWII. As you know, after foreign industries rebuilt, our companies in the USA started running into stiff foreign competition. That’s when US companies started tightening up their financials and pushing back on the unions. Unfortunately, many factories shutdown and moved offshore in response to the foreign competition. That’s when union membership in the private sector started declining.

When workers are well paid it is (or should be) a sign that their companies are performing well in their respective markets. Companies (and economies) don’t do well because workers are paid well. That
reasoning is upside down. It just doesn’t work that way.

          • KG

I’ll agree to a point on the lag that American manufacturing suffered from after WW2. However, it was the 1970’s and technology that helped American manufacturing catch up with the rest of the world. But it wasn’t the cost of labor that drove them overseas, it was the maximization of PROFITS. American labor has always been competitive with foreign labor. However, the American businessman has no loyalty to any nation, just his own personal greed and ambition.

Why does Germany still have most of it’s manufacturing? And that in spite of a relatively well-paid workforce compared to the rest of the world. The Germans know that the real wealth of their nation is in their citizens and not the wealthy businessmen.

          • gelliott

            KG,

Your underlying premise that wealthy businessmen are unfair is the reason workers haven’t done better is flawed, I think. This is exactly the teaching of union leaders, and one of the factors that discourages workers from giving their best to their jobs/companies without which companies cannot compete successfully in a global market. American workers are just as capable and good as any in the world. It’s their leadership (union, political, and even company management) that’s flawed, in my opinion. If we can get all of that straightened out, many
companies/industries will do fine in America and their workers will benefit accordingly.

Regarding Germany’s success, I can’t give you a real good answer. I do know that their government has programs that encourage close cooperation between their education system and businesses, so along with the fact that I don’t hear of conflicts between German companies and unions, there may be more cooperation between labor and companies in
Germany than in the USA. My guess is that German companies keep their work forces lean and productivity high so they can afford to pay their workers well. Also, I don’t really know for sure, but wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the German government subsidizes its industries through citizen taxes to offset some of the worker benefits, but as I say, I don’t really know this. Even if it is true, the German government has been able through crafty political management to keep from accruing big
deficits like our government has which may allow them to “invest” in their industries.

          • KG

Your lack of knowledge concerning Americas labor history is very noticeable. The American Businessman has been an enemy of Workers since the founding of America. Many scholars claim that the first ‘workers rebellion’ in America was Bacon’s Rebellion in 1676. However, in the 1870’s, the real struggle for Americas workers kicked off with the Great Uprising of 1877. With the ‘progressive era’ establishment of Labor Unions in America, common workers were able to realize a true ‘middle class’ type of society. However, to really look at how management viewed labor, just look at the Colorado Mineworker masacare

American financier Jay Gould said after hiring strikebreakers, “I can hire one-half of the working class to kill the other half.” Businesses malevolent attitude towards workers has always been prevalent in American history.

          • gelliott

            KG,

I don’t know if American labor unions ever really did help workers from a macro point of view, but if they did, the fight is over. Stick a fork in it and declare victory. The cause of your problems today are rooted
in the global economy, not greedy company management. The competition today are workers in other countries who work for less, are better educated, and/or are more productive. Unless, and until unions come to that realization, their membership in private industry will continue to
drop. If we could all get on the same team, we might be able to bring jobs back to this country. The days of the 1950’s are past, and not likely to come back anytime soon. Sorry, but I think you need to get real about the situation.

The Kenyan Illegal pRESIDENT was asked by George Stephanopoulos whether his job to convince lawmakers to INCREASE the debt ceiling was made more difficult by his vote in 2006 against raising the debt limit. He ADMITTED the vote was “political.” “I think that it’s important to understand the vantage point of a Senator versus the vantage point of a…President. When you’re a Senator, traditionally what’s happened is this is always a lousy
vote. Nobody likes to be tagged as having increased the debt limit for the United States by a trillion dollars… As President, you start realizing, ‘You know what? We– we can’t play around with this stuff. This is the full faith in
credit of the United States.’ And so that was just a example of a new Senator, you know, making what is a political vote as opposed to doing what was important for the country.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTx_H5-jA3M

You might want to rethink “made-up term by the Republicans”–its been around since circa 1917. And has been brandied about by every President and politician of every party since.

        • michiganminuteman

KG, If you really believe that double talk of oblama’s then you are truly a “useful idiot”!

    • Vigilant

“And because it’s called raising the debt ceiling, I think a lot of Americans think it’s raising our debt. It is not raising our debt. This does not add a dime to our debt. It simply says you pay for what Congress has already authorized America to purchase, whether that’s the greatest military in the world or veterans’ benefits or Social Security.”

If Obama is going to start talking about the level of unfunded liabilities, he’s opening a can of worms for discussion that he doesn’t want. You think nearly $17 trillion in debt is high? The unfunded liabilities of social security, Medicare, prescription drugs, Obamacare and federal employees’ future retirement benefits are OVER $120 TRILLION.
That’s over $1 million in liabilities per US household.

If Obama uses “lawyer” language and some voodoo formula to claim that these unfunded liabilities are not or will not become actual debt, he has simply contradicted his own words as a senator in 2006 (see below).

The next time one of you leftist jabronis attempts to blame Reagan and Bush for large increases in national debt, I’ll throw Obama’s own rationalization right back at you. Because, in the world according to Obama. neither Reagan nor Bush “add[ed] a dime to our debt.”

      • KG

Do you have all the funds you need to live the rest of your life? I think, unless you are related to Bill Gates or something, you do not. So, that would make your LIFE an ‘unfunded Mandate’? get it?

        • jdangiel

A false analogy. A person’s life can be funded as it goes by the process of the person working and earning what he or she needs and in the process even creating additional wealth, a process that does not require stealing some of the wealth of others. The government is not like that and you know it. It doesn’t earn anything, it doesn’t generate wealth, it doesn’t pay for itself.

          • KG

Who is the government? More specifically, who is the government in America?

    • ONLYJB1

You sir are wrong! I guess because your dear leader said this, you muslim bow to him the great almighty? Wrong sir! The debt ceiling has to be raised to pay for future increased expenses. You know those ridiculous shovel ready jobs, roads and bridges! Remember that stupidity? The only jobs this administration has created are government gravey jobs! They need more money to spend more money!
In 5 years the debt has increased by 8+ trillion dollars! That is more than 8 administrations before. If you are so disinformed to believe that our debt is 17 trillion, then you are drunk on the obama koolaid! Our true national debt is 267 trillion dollars and our unemployment figures to be in the REAL neighborhood of 25.67% and rising!
      Awaken to reality!

    • Merle Dickey

So you think congress o.k.ed his 245 million to the muslim brotherhood? And the 7 billion to the African energy program?( That is just in the last 8 months

      • KG

The Muslim Brotherhood is a CIA created entity just like Al Qaeda. Remember something called the ‘Cold War’? It was thought by the CIA that Muslims were ‘inherently Anti-Communist’ and could be turned into a kind of ‘robot army’ against the Soviets.

African energy program. Kinda like what the Tennessee Valey Authority was for America. A project to electrify a part of the World that has been neglected and abused throughout History.

I think it would be better for US to do that than China.

Unless you own stock in some Chinese energy companies.

        • Merle Dickey

I think it would be better if we pulled up our boot straps and admitted we are in trouble financially and quit helping all these other countries every time they have a war or problem .. Natural disasters such as earthquakes ,tornadoes, extreme fires, etc, could be an exception.
I think if China wanted to invest in africa it would find a way whether we did or not.

          KG,

You can always find good moral arguments for giving, or donating, money, especially if the money is someone else’s, to causes you think are worthy. However, I don’t think it’s moral to force people (through taxation, inflation, or debt obligation) to give
their hard earned money to causes you think are worthy if they don’t agree with you, even though it may be legal. Also, at some point people have to be responsible and spend only what they can afford. If you had a neighbor that had more debt than annual income, like our federal government does, would you
advise him to borrow more money so he could donate it to good causes? I doubt it. This country’s finances are very similar to the neighbor’s. No matter how many good causes there are in the world, we just can’t responsibly afford to borrow and give money away anymore. Also, spending money on one bad cause or
program doesn’t justify spending money you don’t have on another. I think that’s the bottom line.

          • KG

What if you neighbor was just hired as a permanent union electrical technician at the local power plant? With a job like that any kind of loan he may make would surely get paid back due to his income and status of employment. That’s the problem America has.

In the 1980’s it became fashionable among the elite to buy manufacturing companies and sell-off their assets as well as raid their pension funds. What is supposed to happen is with the government spending into the economy, that money would circulate and come back in the form of Tax receipts from employed factory workers. However, everything is made in China so that money gets trapped at the top among the elite.

If America spent money in electrifying Africa like it did in electrifying the Tennessee valley, all of that investment would come back in the form of trade with newly created markets that didn’t exist before.

          • Robert Messmer

In theory, maybe. I’m sure most of us have loaned money to friends/neighbors/family who even after they got good jobs/re-established themselves never bothered paying the loan back. You did not answer the questions concerning the Muslim Brotherhood and the African Energy Program. No one asked who created, when they were created or why they were created in re MB. The question was do you really think that Congress authorized an expenditure to a known terrorist organization and another Energy Program for Obama to waste taxpayers money on? BTW since we will probably wind up borrowing the money from China we might as well had let them do the damn project and spent that 7 billion dollars here.

          • KG

The Muslim Brotherhood is a CIA supported organization as well as AlQuaeda. They were both given the mission to fight global Communism. It was believed by intelligence experts that Islamic extremists were ‘inherently anti-communist’ and could be used a ‘killer robots’ against the Communists.

If we ‘borrowed’ the money from China, it would benefit China since then they would be stockholders, but, as Abraham Lincoln said during the construction of the Intercontinental Railway “…if we buy the rails from England, then England will have our money. But if we made the rails here in America, we would have the rails as well as the money.” That’s the ‘inefficiencys’ that make Government a better spender than private enterprise.

          • Robert Messmer

OK Try this again since you chose to ignore the question.

“The Muslim Brotherhood is a CIA supported organization as well as AlQuaeda. They were both given the mission to fight global Communism. It was believed by intelligence experts that Islamic extremists were ‘inherently anti-communist’ and could be used a ‘killer robots’ against the Communists.”

The question was do you really think that Congress authorized an expenditure to a known terrorist organization and another Energy Program for Obama to waste taxpayers money on? Pretend you are on the witness stand in court and you are only allowed to answer the question with either a “yes” if you do believe that or a “no” if Obama did it.

So based on Lincoln’s answer are you saying that all supplies, all equipment and all manpower necessary for the project will come from the USA? If not then yes it will/might be a boost for the local economy but doesn’t help us.

          • KG

No. Our President, Mr Obama did not waste any taxpayer dollars. Congress didn’t authorize the funds in open session, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence does that in secret.

May be not everything, there will be some African entrepreneurs as well as Investors. In fact, if that were to happen, we could redeem ourselves from the taint of Modern Colonialism.

          • Robert Messmer

Based on previous aid efforts to Africa at least 90% of it will wind up in the hands of whichever warlord grabs it first and can hold on to it.

Since the Muslims are still killing non-Muslims for the “crime” of the Crusades, not very likely and quite frankly I don’t buy the charge of Colonialism based on foreign aid. When we take over the Sudan or the Congo and run them the way we want, then ok.

          • KG

quote: Based on previous aid efforts to Africa at least 90% of it will wind up in the hands of whichever warlord grabs it first and can hold on to it.

Sorta like what business in America does with government stimulus?

quote: When we take over the Sudan or the Congo and run them the way we want, then ok.

Wasn’t that supposed to happen in Vietnam? …or Iraq?

What did America do for Europe and Japan after WW2? We dumped loads of cash onto their economies and created a post-war economic boom. I wonder if we could do as good today?

          • Robert Messmer

Surprize! I was against the government stimulus being directed at big business and certainly the bail out of the TBTF’s. I maintain that if they are truly Too Big To Fail then they won’t fail and they don’t need taxpayer’s help.

Vietnam is a)history and b) not in Africa. Re Iraq not the stated objectives.

          • gelliott

            KG,

If I were the neighbor’s banker, I might not want to give him a loan, unless I felt he had a good stable job record and his company was doing well; ie, not having financial problems due to strict environmental regulations, etc, and he agreed to make regular payments toward paying off the loan and gave me some sort of liquid collateral that protected my interests. Where the government is concerned, I’d agree to a higher debt limit IF the government
would make a convincing statement that they would responsibly get spending and taxation under control and move the budget back into balance over some
reasonable time period. Otherwise, no deal.

Money circulates through the economy regardless whether it is spent by government or the private sector. The main difference is that government spending is very inefficient compared to the private sector. Government often “invests” in projects that have little to no wealth creation (don’t grow the economy) and frequently spend far too much on
administrative overhead trying to manage these programs. So, whenever possible, the most efficient
route to growing the economy and putting real money in the pockets of everyone is by stimulating the private sector. Government spending is inefficient and corrupt.

Investments in Africa and other countries will be a good thing, provided they are made by the private sector. It might be helpful for the government to “grease the skids” with the foreign countries by possibly removing or reducing political barriers to trade between our countries. Along this line, there are other things the government might do as well, like giving them favorable trade terms, supporting IMF funding, giving military aid and support against their enemies, etc. that don’t involve giving them money directly from our government which most often
goes into the pockets of the foreign government politicians instead of helping the people we want to help.

          • KG

Don’t you see what you are saying? It IS the ‘inefficiency’ of the Government that creates general prosperity. The money that otherwise would go into the pockets of rich people as profits is instead injected back into the economy. That’s why Government projects can have a much larger impact on economic growth than private projects. Classic Keynesian economics.

          • gelliott

            KG,

Yes, I believe I know what I’m saying. Do you?

Government inefficiency can NOT grow the economy. Money that is not used efficiently cannot contribute to economic growth. It can, however, result in wasteful spending, inflation, and even corruption, but it will not grow the economy because it will not create any value for people who have money to invest/spend/buy things. If all we had to do was print money out of thin air and send checks to citizens to grow the economy and generate tax revenue, we wouldn’t have any money problems. Obviously, that’s not the case.

          • KG

Add worth to those dollars by providing Union jobs building stuff. That’s how it’s supposed to work.

          • gelliott

            KG,

Whether the jobs are union or not is not all that relevant to economic growth. It might matter to the
participants, but it doesn’t matter much to economic growth. What does matter to economic growth is
whether people are paid what they and their work is worth. If paid more than it’s worth, the premium is largely wasted. It enriches the individuals getting the premium but doesn’t do much for economic growth because the individuals don’t do much to create new products/services with those premiums that create value for customers in the market which is what grows the economy.

Personally, I don’t favor unions much because they are collective organizations. They are socialistic
because they negotiate contracts where everyone gets the same pay and benefits for a particular job level regardless of the worker’s individual contributions. Workers actually work for the unions, not the company, which engenders loyalty to the union not the company that provides the means for employment. The company is framed by the union as the awful folks that want to keep the workers down. Given this, it is easy to see why union members aren’t motivated to give their best effort to the companies. Further, the unions are monopolistic in that they rarely ever have to compete with other unions to provide labor services to the companies they work for. Taken altogether, I think the net effect of unions on the economy is probably neutral
to negative. Certainly, they do help enrich their members and themselves, up to the point where they constrain companies to under invest, shutdown, or move offshore, but not the economy.

          • KG

Here is a chart that explains Americas decline as well as the decline of middle class Americans:

            http://thinkprogress.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/unionincome.jpg

The people of the working class cannot hope to “enrich” themselves if they are the ones who are supposed to supply the population with children; which is the definition of a ‘proletariat’. Ever notice how the poorer a family is, the more kids it pumps out? That’s why we need Unions.

          • gelliott

            KG,

Thanks for the chart. Very interesting. I think what’s really happening is that our companies have been, and are facing strong global competition which has caused these companies to downsize, outsource, offshore, shutdown, move, etc. which tends to
reduce the number of some factory jobs and cause workers to realize they can’t continue to fight for premium union wages/benefits if they want a job in this country. In the end, it’s global competition
that’s driving companies to do what they’re doing, not greedy businessmen.

It shouldn’t be up to the government how many children we have. That’s an individual decision. I don’t see the connection between that and why we need unions. To me, unions are like lawyers. You can use them to help you get what you want, but there is a price to pay when you do. Anytime you can work with the other party (company/management) instead of working through a union, it’s better. I realize everyone wants to make more money and get better benefits. That’s in our nature. The point is how we achieve this objective. Communist/socialist approaches just don’t work well. Capitalism with all its warts has proven that it works pretty well, especially if you look at the larger population instead of individual cases.

          • KG

quote:Capitalism with all its warts has proven that it works pretty well, especially if you look at the larger population instead of individual cases.

As well as Labor Unions. I’ll let Capitalism do what it has to do, just don’t forget who’s getting you there.

          • gelliott

            KG,

More often than not, I usually feel like we’re not “getting there” anymore. This economy just doesn’t have a lot of “gitty up” now. Few people, especially those in the middle who are working, raising families, paying bills and taxes, are really enjoying the prosperity, I’m sorry to say.

So the Washington Post allowed Obama to write an op-ed piece, that is not the same as actual facts. If it was an interview, a real reporter would have read Obama’s statement from when he was on the other side. ”
Americans deserve better.” And asked Obama if he would like to discuss his leadership failure that has led to having to raise the debt ceiling again?

from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels 10/29/1897 – 5/1/1945 Minister of Propaganda

One of the reasons I left government service is because I am medically unfit to serve. I have survived two helicopter crashes one suffering burns a concussion, and lacerations jumping out of a flaming bird and a second crash headlong into a rice paddy this compressed my spine and caused nerve damage. At that time a mortar landed withing 10 feet peppering me with shrapnel some entered my back right next to my spinal cord. I refused surgery to remove it because I didn’t want the chance of becoming paraplegic.

I know what pain and disability are like and chose to work through it., I don’t complain don’t advertise and certainly don’t use it as a crutch if anything it serves to show how resilient we are or can be. She gets a little compensation from being a disabled vet, but now she works for the Army Corp of Engineers. So now all the time she spent in the military counts towards her government pension. She will only have to work another 7 years and she gets to retire with a better pension than if she stayed in the Army. After all, that’s why I worked Union. Mostly for the pay and health insurance, but in the back of my mind I knew every hour that I worked was another hour closer to retirement. It is only a matter of time before Obama gives Mohammed Morsi from the Moslem brotherhood a cabinent position e.g. asst to Homeland Security chief.

Pinnochio has nothing on this live puppet! But, you know that whenever O shows his pearly whites that a hateful SSSSSSSSSSSS will be spewing first, before the lie, towards the American people.

O’Bama started lying the moment he began his first campaign for the White House and some of us knew it. That is why I did NOT vote for him, the decision came from researching as much as I could find out. Most information was indicated by the company he kept and the books he wrote. Take his teleprompter away and he can’t speak. Remember, if the rhetoric sounds too good to be true, it is a lie. Those dedicated to him never seem to see him for what he is and what his agenda is, they either refuse to see the truth or are afraid of the label “racist”. It never seems to register with them that his policies are the problem, he may actually be a nice person but doesn’t know how to lead a Constitutional Republic and apparently doesn’t care or want to. He appears to HATE what we stand for as a Nation and is helping to destroy us. America needs to wake up before the Progressive Liberal’s agenda is not reversible.

ODUMBO won because the LAME STREAM MEDIA is owned by Corporate America who knew ODUMBO was perfect for promoting their agenda. lame stream media like all advertisers present their rhetoric at a fourth grade level the average comprehension of Americans. The blitz campaign following ODUMBO through out Europe portrayed ODUMBO as being a statesman and someone who can be diplomatic (to me ODUMBO is a dip all right a dip S**T). They (LSM) didn’t report on the fact ODUMBO was seeking campaign funds from Europe mostly from these crony capitalists who now OWN him

Enamored Americans bought the LSM BS Hook line and sinker and the dumbed down believed the snake oil salesman’s prevarications and were lining to to share the wealth. Had ODUMBO proclaimed he had a bridge to sell there would no doubt have been a line miles long for the chance to buy it.

Our President, Mr Obama, was re-elected to ensure that an adult was at the wheel instead of some spoiled child of a Republican like “w” was. All the BS in the world that Fixed Noise (FOX) broadcast couldn’t convince the American people to allow a child to run the country.

YOUR president was re elected because of APATHY and voter fraud plain and simple. Never in any election has there been one precinct reporting a100% turnout yet we have at least 10 such reports. Never have we had any precincts report 100% votes for a single candidate yet we have at least 10 such reports. Never have we has so many admitted people voting more than once or the amount of illegals and deceased. No wonder the DNC is anti immigration reform and voter ID without these your voter base is HALVED Those who believe otherwise are merely ostriches who cannot face reality

If I were you I would stop trying to appear to have some sophistication using Latin phrases (which are often incorrect) I and others see right through your smoke screen and see a desperate individual trying to be taken seriously

General Smedley Butler would disagree with your assessment. They don’t make Marines like that anymore. Anyone who make a statement like that are closet fascists. Just admit to yourself that you would rather see goose stepping troops marching down the street rather than people peacefully protesting.

And you’re having difficulty doing that (impressing yourself) With each bit of BS you post it appears you are more DEPRESSED than impressed.

I’m not a “Communist”. I’m more of a Labor Union supporter. A lot of the Marxian language and Ideas come from a need to use the perfectly clear language that Marx used in his descriptions of Capitalism. BTW, the most democratic organizations in America are Labor Unions. Despite the rhetoric you hear about Union ‘Bosses’, almost every activity in the Union is voted on in the general membership. In our Local, the BA couldn’t buy a box of staples without everybody knowing about it.

All I know is that my father was in the 3rd Force Recon at Okinawa. He said he spent most of his time on an LST floating off the coast of Vietnam. However, he did mention being assigned in the Philippines to scout and detect the Moros who were suspected of being Communist sympathizers. That’s all I really know.

BTW, most of the latin I have learned is strictly from the Internets. I thought it would be funny to use on occasion to secretly insult people. I don’t want to seem like a jerk, but, sometimes, it’s just too much fun to pass up!

Fatum meum, exsecratio mea, spes mea.

          • Vis Fac

I believe if it looks like a duck quacks like a duck and waddles like a duck it’s a duck. So the communist mantra fits you to a tee !!! And since you are a union supporter you are a thug that uses coercion to steal what you want.

I don’t rely on the internet for too much of my information especially those translation sites who seldom provide proper diction ans often mis-translate words. I speak from my own vocabulary learned form being immersed or instructed. I have many talents which is why I was selected for assignment to a Force Recon Unit We are the precursors to the Navy SEAL teams as we were assigned to train them prior to the navy instituting their own training facilities. We used their combat dive schools as well as Army Jump schools.

I served three consecutive tours in Vietnam two as a commanding officer My teams spent a few months afloat as well providing para rescue service to extract downed aviators who had been captured and had yet to be transferred to Hanoi. This was very dangerous and dirty work often (usually always) resulting in close in combat and wet work.

You say you don’t want to seem a jerk but go out of your way to demonstrate otherwise I don’t hold grudges and since I have mellowed out (yes I remember being young but no so foolish) I reserve my right to alter my assessment of others. You are going to need A a lot more than words to prove who and what say you are not.

I can be a very useful and loyal ally conversely you wouldn’t want me as an enemy !!!

Thank you for your service in Vietnam. My Dad said the same thing you did concerning the SEALS. He also said the best tacos in the world are from Charlies on Okinawa.

I could never do physically what a Marine Force Recon could do. However, I know from other experiences I have had the it’s the mental part that’s the hardest to master.

          • Vis Fac

Never had problems with the mental part When I am focused on something it doesn’t not conquer me. It’s all what you set out to accomplish that matters.

People who start smoking are LOSERS Just as those who continually use LOL as I have never done neither of these that makes me the WINNER you the LOSER

I don’t need to be a follower and do what others do to gain acceptance Why should I do something unnatural knowing what partaking in such an activity leads to?

Common sense should dictate what is smart and what is not this leaves liberals lacking for liberals have no common sense especially where finances are concerned I need only mention Detroit to prove my point.

I get very nauseated just hearing this liar’s voice, knowing that EVERY word is a lie, if it is not a lie then it is slander against his opponents. This is causing those who actually watch and believe mainstream megaliars to show how utterly stupid they are , especially when asked a simple question. The answer will always be a quote from their favorite TV comedy show, I mean news cast.

I like the statement in this article that says “if government expenditures could be cut back to what they were when Obama first assumed office, we wouldn’t have to borrow a single dollar to pay them”.
Hmmmmm……..how do you cut “back” when every Tom, Dick, and Harry is illegally coming into this country and allowed to stay to ride the gravy train……..ESPECIALLY when you are using MORE “advertising” dollars to let more people know the freebies are available???????????

Barry Soetoro, Has lied to the American people more so than any past President, including Bill Clinton.
In my opinion he should be impeached and all benefits denied. Of course, this couldn’t happen at this time with the Bolsheviks holding the power in the Senate.
If we elect enough conservative Senators come Nov 2014 and the Congress is still held by the Republicans, It would be very possible to rid this country of King Barrack. There is enough scandal to dethrone any sitting President in this Administration, Of course this again would be touchy, we have many RINO Senators and Congressmen, so it would be close..
Then we would be faced with an idiot like Biden and if for some reason he is removed we have Boehner and I’m not so sure that would be much of a win.

We will be hit very hard by the Bolsheviks, the media, polls and hit adds from now until Nov, 2014 . This next election will be beyond doubt the most important election we will see in this lifetime.

If the wimpy Republicans lose, we might as well take up residence in Mexico,
we will have lost everything, Amnesty will be passed and the Conservative vote will be no more. If you want proof, take a look at California politics, the illegal alien vote now controls this state, we have an escapee from the looney bin as Governor, and a complete majority of little Bolsheviks in the Senate and Legislature. California is no longer a fit place to live for the average person. (or should I say few places)

Everyone complains about how horrible Obama and the crooks in Congress are. Even before Obama, Americans have complained. But in the end, come re-election time, they will go and re-elect the same crooks, or ones who are even worse, and then wonder why the country is being Fed-Ex’ed to hell in a hand cart at mach-10.
