Forbes’ List Says Putin The ‘World’s Most Powerful’ Person

NEW YORK, Oct. 30 (UPI) — Russian President Vladimir Putin replaced U.S. President Barack Obama on Forbes’ list of “The World’s Most Powerful People,” the magazine announced Wednesday.

The fifth annual ranking lists 72 names, and Chinese Communist Party Chairman Xi Jinping, Pope Francis, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are the rest of the top five.

The highest-ranking business person on the list is Walmart CEO Michael Duke, at No. 10. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, 29, in 24th position, is the youngest on the list.

Four factors were taken into account in ranking the people of power, the magazine said: how many people over whom they have power, the financial resources they control, if their influence extends to more than one sphere and how actively they wield their power to change the world.
