Center For Individual Freedom Blasts Internet Regulation Plans

February 25, 2010 by

Center for Individual Freedom blasts internet regulation plans As the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has decided to begin developing open Internet regulation, the Center for Individual Freedom (CIF) has unveiled a national grassroots campaign to rally conservatives in opposition to the efforts.

The Stop Net Regulation campaign was launched during the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., and it encourages Americans to go online and sign a national petition, and contact their elected officials.

"’Stop Net Regulation’ will serve as the hub for the growing movement of conservatives across the country opposed to the federal government regulating the internet," said CIF president Jeffrey Mazzella.

He added that "hundreds of thousands of American jobs depend on private investment by Internet companies and these new regulations stand directly in the way of the nation’s economic recovery."

The FCC plan is intended to put in place regulations that would prevent these companies from restricting access to Internet content, applications and services offered by competitors. However, big Internet providers such as AT&T, Verizon and Comcast have expressed their opposition, stating that regulations will prevent them from managing Internet traffic to keep services running smoothly to all subscribers.

Analysts say that applications such as Google, Skype and Facebook would be among the biggest beneficiaries of "net neutrality."

Most of the criticism of the Obama regime is over the Internet. I believe that silencing us is the real intent of new Internet regulation by the FCC. Obama has stated that he wants to be able to shut down certain sites in a national emergency. Of course, he would define what the emergency is. I’m sure he would consider criticism from conservative web sites as a national emergency and silence that web site so he could push through his Nazi agenda. Netzero, once had a slogan when they were a free Internet service: “Keeping the Internet free.” We need to keep the Internet free from censorship. Yes, there is a lot of stuff on the web that I don’t like, but you can’t pick and choose what to shut down just because you don’t happen to like it’s content. I believe that censorship is the TRUE goal of the new regulations and is a part of Obama’s agenda to silence the opposition. It’s what all despots try to do.

    • Cindy

I agree completely, back a few years ago, Moveon.org were on a campaign to keep the internet free, I responded to that, and to my surprise I was bombarded by emails and direct mailings to my home that were not related to that issue..not to mention I had to directly call them in my area to get them off my back…I had no idea who these people were, well that changed rather quickly….there was no reasoning with them, like a cult.
      They lie…its all a scam

    • Richard

It is not just censorship of the Internet but control of all aspects of our lives that is the goal of the Socialist, the Progressives or the Liberals (they keep changing their name to throw us off guard). “If the dictators in China can censor their Internet why can’t we?” the elitists in Washington seem to say. They certainly don’t want an informed public or they would all be voted out of office.

I surmise that some of your readers may be Catholic and sadly a large number of Catholics voted for Obama in 2008. However, just thought I’d point out that every Pope since Socialism was invented has opposed it (and world socialism is the goal of the Progressives). Other Christians oppose Socialism too as it replaces God with the State. If you know any Catholics who voted for Obama you might share this with them:

“You are aware indeed, that the goal of this most iniquitous plot is to drive people to overthrow the entire order of human affairs and to draw them over to the wicked theories of this Socialism and Communism, by confusing them with perverted teachings.” (Encyclical Nostis et Nobiscum, December 8, 1849) PIUS IX (1846-1878)

“… For, the fear of God and reverence for divine laws being taken away, the authority of rulers despised, sedition permitted and approved, and the popular passions urged on to lawlessness, with no restraint save that of punishment, a change and overthrow of all things will necessarily follow. Yea, this change and overthrow is deliberately planned and put forward by many associations of communists and socialists” (Encyclical Humanum Genus, April 20, 1884, n. 27). LEO XIII (1878-1903)

“…there is need for a union of brave minds with all the resources they can command. The harvest of misery is before our eyes, and the dreadful projects of the most disastrous national upheavals are threatening us from the growing power of the socialistic movement. They have insidiously worked their way into the very heart of the community, and in the darkness of their secret gatherings, and in the open light of day, in their writings and their harangues, they are urging the masses onward to sedition; they fling aside religious discipline; they scorn duties; they clamor only for rights; they are working incessantly on the multitudes of the needy which daily grow greater, and which, because of their poverty are easily deluded and led into error. It is equally the concern of the State and of religion, and all good men should deem it a sacred duty to preserve and guard both in the honor which is their due.” (Encyclical Graves de Communi Re, January 18, 1901, n. 21) LEO XIII (1878-1903).

A WARNING FROM 1910: The dream of re-shaping society will bring socialism…PIUS X

From 1914: The condemnation of socialism should never be forgotten…BENECICT XV

From 1931: Socialism (is) fundamentally contrary to Christian truth…PIUS XI

From 1939: “”To consider the State as something ultimate to which everything else should be subordinated and directed, cannot fail to harm the true and lasting prosperity of nations.” (Encyclical Summi Pontificatus, October 20, 1939, n. 60) PIUS XII

From 1961: “No Catholic could subscribe even to moderate socialism”
      May 15, 1961, JOHN XXIII

From 1974: To often Christians tend to idealize socialism…PAUL VI

In 1991 JOHN PAUL II warned of the danger of socialism and it’s mistaken conception of what a person is “…so that the good of the individual is completely subordinated to the functioning of the (state).”

And in 2005, BENECICT XVI said “We do not need a State which regulates and controls everything”

It was my understanding that when the FCC asked for public input those opposing this agenda was overwhelming. So what are they doing?

Barry’s CZARS are the main problem, these persons are working full time 24 hours a day 7 days a week as they work away to destroy all YOUR FREEDOMS.

So with that in mind; with Barry its watch what he is doing and pay very close mind to all his CZARS. Also look at trends and patterns Barry use’s in his countless speaches, within each one he speaks of
his “outward plans,” but its the }less obvious subtle less articulated
yet noted moves} you really need to watch.

Please all of you read the “ART of WAR,” then all of Barry’s moves will be very clear to you.
Just as the alledged Health Care package, its a total power grab.

Understand the art of making a deal, toss the mass of it out and take
even a slight compromise. Then you have your foot in the door.

Every trick he has used thus far has been used countless times over and over. The last one who used these methods that I am sure you all know of was (Adolf Hitler.)
Who used the UNIONS, the unemployed, free BEER, free food, and shelter, to get started, then went on to rule and destroy everything he encountered.

Also keep in mind Hitler had the press behind him too, note how well our media / press is in his back pocket.

The Communists always work the same way.

  • http://nowebsite Minnie

This is the most terrible thing in the US. Next he will tell us we can not watch TV.

    • Joe H.

They are already deciding in court whether a mall has the right to ask you to leave if they don’t like what you are talking to a friend about! Freedom of speech is slowly being eroded away!!!!

      • Joe H.

Think about this case a little more. Say you and a friend are walking through a SIMON mall and you are discussing politics in a reasonable tone not arguing and a mall security guard walks up to you and tells you you have to stop the discussion or leave. Is this not a case of abridging your right to free spech? If this case goes through in favor of the mall it could very well happen to any of you that shop at the mall!!!

    • Katja

Don’t worry, Minnie- TV is watching US, so they can’t shut it off !

    • Ross Blankert

B.H.Obama is modeling this after the China model. Folks will be jailed for speaking out against their government. “If we lose freedom here, there is no place to run to. This is the last stand on earth.” Ronald Reagan. Mr Obama has told us the Fox news is not a news organization. Mr Obama has told us not to listen to Rush Limbaugh. Excuse Me!!!!!

    • Meteorlady

You will still be able to watch TV, only difference is that they shows will be even more dumbed down and they will be what the government lets you see.

  • Phil

If you go look at the bill it’s intent is in case of a cyber attack on the Internet..nothing unusual …would anyone oppose shutting down a site that’s involved in an Internet attack?…I think you’re afraid the Fcc would shut down some of your ” Obamas a socialist sites” or Obama is a ” Space Alien ” sites…… I think you’re working yourselves up for nothing ….The constitution protects even the nutcase sites on both the left and right…….relax…

    • Meteorlady

Yes and the Patriot Act has not taken away any of my freedoms? That makes it hard to relax.

    • Mike In MI

      Hey Phul,

How much does Obama pay you to opher these Phine Pheelings, ophinions and phropaganda points? Has he kept you so busy laundering your brain you never heard what China does to their internet users? The Chinese Socialist Government controls speech, thought and ideas with threats, guns and jail. It seems you would certainly welcome such protection of your ideology.

Too bad for you libs, it is the clash and parry of ideas that made this nation free, powerful and wealthy. Take away that free exchange and you’ll have only one set to conform to and be controlled by. Under those conditions you and anybody who isn’t in the ruling class will have neither freedom, power nor wealth. That is why the U.S.S.R. enjoyed its brand of resounding success.

But, it looks like the world is falling in line to exist for a while subject to socialist ideology and rule of the god who originated it. Go ahead and stand for it. God will let you reap what you sow. It is said it will be the most oppressive, chaotic, horrible time of tribulation humanity will ever experience. The end of that reign of worldwide horror will be the second time The Lord, Christ Jesus will come to claim the kingdom he worked and sacrificed to obtain. But, you won’t want that – tuph.

      • Phil

Mike, I’ve tried to read and understand your post a couple time… Could you give a short translation…?.. It’s kind of rambling and incoherent…

Does not surprise us that you can’t understand a conservative poster Phul, since you’re still in the “see spot run” remedial class…

          • Phil

Stephaan…. I’m not at all suprised you understand his rant….did you oppose President Bush went he went around the Fisa court to wiretap?…see, these are all things you thought were wonderful as long as it was a republican taking your rights while they told you nothing about it….. It’s was all done in secret…. At least president Obama is going about it legally…it’s only in case of a cyber attack that he would shut down any site involved in a cyber attack.. So your opposed to this because?….. I would only support it with a court order…. Just like president Bush should have done with his wiretapping ….

          • DaveH

            Phil,
If you want to be naive beyond belief, then be. But don’t waste your time trying to convince us to be the same.
Do you think Obama is going to say “I want to ban guns”, or “I want to ban the Internet”? Of course not, he would be beyond stupid to be so honest of his real intentions. Only the most radical Liberals will tell you what their real intentions are.
The Internet works just fine. The Government doesn’t need to get involved. Besides what a laugh riot it is to figure that the people who can’t run the Post Office, or Medicare, or Social Security, could even dream of running the Internet efficiently.

      • Phil

Mike…. President Obama pays me big bucks for posting my liberal views on these sites….( humor)…2nd… Save your religious rants for someone else…. I’m neither impressed with them nor do I believe you live your life by them… It’s just your rightwing attempt to hide and justify your hate…

        • JC

Phil, I see what you are saying about the Internet regulation and what it’s purpose is. And with that in mind I understand why you would advise folks to relax.
The thing is one must assume that government would be acting in a benevolent and protective fashion in order to adopt your position.
We know that that our government is anything but benevolent and the only thing it’s protecting is itself.
It’s also easy enough to say that the internet is to us as the printing press was to the French Renaissance.
If we are to maintain any control over our own destiny we must be free to communicate with like minded people. In other words, just like gun rights this is an area that no honest or benevolent government need bother with. Any intervention into this area must be regarded with the deepest suspicion.
If the internet were to go down overnight I think it would be a clear signal to all those who are aware of the globalist agenda to Lock n Load.
The Annointed One had better be very very careful here.

    • Roland Tibbs

WAke up phill its censorship and it has no place here in the USA

  • Meteorlady

If the goal is to shut down terrorist sites then they can go to court and get an order. They don’t need to regulate it. Look at Google and China – where Chinese only get to see what the government wants them to see. What can the internet actually do harmful to out government? It cannot shut it down, it cannot bomb cities, it can only provide points of view and information. This is about control, not anything else and it’s to the benefit of some very rich people.

    • TIME

      Meterolady, Great point!

Wake up America……. We have a dictator government; have you heard that groups are lobbying to put a control on TV antennas? You don’t care? you have cable? that’s the way they divide us. There is no end to the effort to tax us, control us, ruin our country. Stop the dictator and his sycophants. Writing on the net is great but one has to contact the liberal democrats if any changes are to be made in their actions.

Center For Individual Freedom Blasts Internet Regulation Plans
February 25, 2010 by Personal Liberty News Desk:

It sure seems that the viewers on this site tend to be against the Progressive(Marxist) takeover of America! Now we have obama saying the he’s for free enterprise, but his behavior totally negates his testimony! Even have his Marxist Jones guy in the open again! America are we going to let this BLack Panther, Marxist, Chicago-based movement out of the 60′s, take over our country! These two white guys that started this Marxist movement actually were sponsoring the Blacks taking over the American system of government back then with “them” leading it(Talk about Racism)! Remember Charles Manson out in California? He took off on this 60′s movement himself, but the Chicago people had that stopped quickly, didn’t they! Oh he killed? Hello? And, I was thinking that Chicago was even more violent then New York! You figure?

  • http://charter howe

It is no surprise that people in Congress and the Whitehouse do not have the best interests of WE THE PEOPLE in mind. Both sides of the aisle seem to be voting for their best interest which is not the will of the people that elected them. Having said that, this FCC push to regulate the internet is the first step to government censorship. All the rhetoric about the evils unregulated internet will bring is the argument that the liberal democrats and the Whitehouse will use to justify their actions will be used to shove yet another piece of legislation down our throats. What if the voters of the country could vote on some of these bills instead of the sorry mess that is going on now. Special elections are nothing new in cities and states all over the country. These special elections are not as expensive as some of the pork that has been passed. I can handle the majority of the peoples decision on a vote, but I can’t handle the minority radicals bombarding us with debt that is killing our economy and our kids. They got theirs with the cadillac health plans, pensions, salaries, and all the lobby money they can get away with. The elected officials for the most part have already postured to take care of their families for many generations while WE THE PEOPLE have to beg and grovel to have fairness legislated. I hope my family, friends, and other American patriots will join me in voting these pathetic do nothing, self indulgent, lying liberal democrats out of office in 2010 and 2012, because our country and its freedoms are at stake.

    • Phil

We the People voted in President Obama…..if you had better candidates and ideas maybe you’d have done better in 2008… And still their is no Republican even close to President Obama in the polls….. He’s still running between 49 and 52 %…. still pretty good…..you have nobody to blame but yourselves for President Obamas election…… The Republicans drove this country into an economic ditch and it’s going to take our President more than a year to fix the mess the ” Right” made….. Be patient…. We will fix what you broke…

      • Joe H.

        Phil,
again I suggest you look at the poll in USA today that gives him a 32%!!!!

        • Phil

Joe… I couldn’t find the poll your talking about but I suspect the poll you bring up is a poll on the republican approval polls for President Obama…. If you go to realclearpolitics.com they have all the polls averaged out… The lowest poll I could find on president Obamas Approval was 47.9(48)…and it varies between. 48 and 52… %… which is pretty good….

    • http://charter howe

I’m curious, if the Patriot act already allows government intrusion to stop terrorist activity, then why does the FCC want to regulate it further and I would like to add that the FCC CZAR works for the President along with a massive other 40 CZARS most of whom are not accountable to Congress. Shades of Chavez, what the hell are you thinking.I also oppose the fact that the rules for this intrusion are not clearly written and defined as is the case for most power grabs. I spent 29 years in the military doing what I could to support the constitution and your right to express opinions that are not well thought out, but I won’t be the one shutting your voice down when the FCC takes gradual control of internet acivities. My thing is I like my freedoms, small and unobtrusive govt, and a fair system of law for all. I may not be as smart as you think you are, but I believe in christian valus, hard work, honesty and integrity in govt and society and I want a future for my family. If that bothers you, thats your choice, but at least be respectful of people who think the USA is the greatest country in the world and want to keep it that way.

    • Phil

Howe… Can you tell me what your opinion was when president Bush secretly went around the FISA court to wiretap?….what did ” We The People” on the rightwing think about freedoms then?… So far not 1 conservative has had the courage to answer that question…and why wasn’t it socialism when President Bush did it?..

      • DaveH

I didn’t approve of Clinton’s illegal wiretapping, and I didn’t approve of Bush’s illegal wiretapping. But guess what Liberal? They are gone now. It’s past history, get it?
Two wrongs don’t make a right. Of course, how could I expect an immoral Liberal to grasp such subtlety?

  • Phil

How funny…..like I said…. Relax… The Patriot act covers this… If it threatens America the goverment can do what it needs to do to protect the country…. It’s in the Act….I remember most of the people on the right telling me” if you don’t do anything wrong or illegal then you have nothing to worry about”….. So now I’m telling you the samething…….but I’ll remind you that you supported these kinds of ” Laws”,”bills” and “acts” when the rightwing had the goverment…..be carefull what you ask for, you might just get what you ask for…

    • usmadgirl

      Phil,

Bush’s wiretaps were to try to intercept calls BEFORE we were attacked & to protect us from a bunch of nut job terrorists!

THIS is to shut the people’s voices from saying anything he doesn’t like! O-dumbo’s FCC Czar, Mark Lloyd, has every intention of turning this country into Venezuela, the country of his “hero” dictator!

  • http://charter howe

Phil, I agree with you on the fact that President Obama is a really nice guy, even plays a good game of pickup basketball, how good is that, but as a President he will go down as the worst President since Jimmy Carter with his gutless attitude toward Foreign policy and tax and spend agenda. This President has created more of a devision between races with his ideology, because he is not a President to all people, rather he is an insidious liberal who deceived WE THE PEOPLE by becoming An unholy trinity with Pelosi and Reid who have driven their socialism into American politics. Unfortunately McCain was a progressive Republican that was too liberal for America, but many people voted for him by default thus Obama was able to capitalize. You may be an Obama lover and that is certainly your right, but the man doesn’t have enough experience and he doesn’t listen to the majority of WE THE PEOPLE. He has consistantly been hard left on his ideology which has placed America in a terrible situation with the bad global economy. The Chinese own us and The President is still pushing big dollar bills that we cannot afford. We are broke, let me repeat our country is broke and we can’t afford to support our national defense without printing new money that is backed only by inflation. Health Care Reform comes to mind, that is unaffordable and is not deficit nuetral, so why is Obama so doggedly pushing for health care. At this point its more about a power grab then wanting to help people. Liberals always point the finger when failure of ideology is evident. It shouldn’t be too long now before Bush is blamed yet once again. The Democrats have controlled Congress since 2006 and Pelosi has done nothing in the last three years for Bush or Obama. Congress legislates, get it. You could vote a rookie President into office but Congress controls the purse strings on the money and everything legislates back to a budget unless there are people out there working for free. I guess its time for you to become a true American or get educated to better understand whats really going on, unless you prefer to introduce ill thought out discussion without a pryer of solution. I realize you are proud of your narrow minded ideas, but at least respect the others who also have concerns.

    • Phil

Howie… First, thanks for being capable of holding a civil conversation…I’ll try to address all your claims( which I believe are all wrong) …Foreign policy….was attacking a country that had nothing at all to do with 9/11 what you meant by foreign policy?… President Obama has had far more sucess fighting the real terrorist in Afghanistan and Pakistan than president Bush had in his 8 years in office, it’s not even debatable…Pakistan has started to cooperate now.. They didn’t while president Bush was in office…. Iraq set this country back years in the war on terrorist and actually created a training ground for terrorist, they’ve used the tactics on Afghanistan and Pakistan plus used Abu Grab and torturing prisoners to fill their ranks… So President Obamas foreign policy is much better than President Bushs….now Taxes…. Unless your income is more that 250,000 you got a tax cut.. Bushs tax cuts to the top 2% will expire in 2011) so they will be getting taxed instead of you….. Now I’d like you to pointout what socialist policys president Obama proposes that also wasn’t done during the last administration…. The Wallstreet bailouts started during president Bushs term…… Healthcare….if it’s socialism then why do all the people in congress enjoy goverment healthcare then the right try to argue that it’s socialism?….does it make sense to call it socialism for the American public while your republican leaders enjoy it?… Same with the ” recovery Act”… Cantor and Boehner have both called it socialism and big spending then turned around and taken the money for their own states.. Hypocracy?… Next.. You said Obama doesn’t listen to the people… He still has an approval poll almost double any republican.. The , We the people you posted about voted for president Obama…next.. The 2006 democrat congress… Your trying to blame them for this economy?.. How,, President Bush had veto power… And please name an economic bill the democrats passed that effected our economy between 2006 and 2008…in fact if you google ( Do nothing Congress) you see that the 2006-08 democrat congress past the least bills of any congress in over 20 years… In fact it was republicans who called them the ” Do nothing congress”.. So find me an economic boll they past that gave us this economy… Also , you might tell me what taxes you pay more on now… Mine went down.. Sorry to say, but my wife and I make less than 250,000$.. But at least those that make more wil finally pay their share and take the burden off you….we the people spoke…and you should honor our voice.. It’s called democracy

      • Joe H.

        Phil,
beg to differ, under bush I got a cut and I don’t make anywhere near 250000 a year. the “cut” I got from Obummer was collected back at the end of the year on taxes. No taxes on anything under 250,000 a year? what about the tax on insurance if you make more than 200,000 a year? He stated it this morning between stutters!

  • s c

When Congress and a prez act together to ram things down our throats [LIKE NOW], it would be far worse than illogical to give them the weapon they need to stifle free speech, contaminate the Constitution (AGAIN) and try and win our ‘hearts and minds’ via
what amounts to “freedom” Che-style. We would have no one to blame but ourselves if we were STUPID ENOUGH to let them do it.
‘Net Neutrality’ is pig manure wrapped in chocolate. It is poison in ice cream. It is
anthrax in your coffee. It is suicide wrapped in a gift. It is a weapon waiting to be used by those who have proven that they HATE FREEDOM, they despise FREE SPEECH, and as long as they can continue to fool naive people they WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THEY GET WHAT THEY WANT.
Keep these useful idiots in plain sight, or learn to live with the idea that freedom is just another word used by reptillian scum who know how to disguise themselves.
When free speech goes, the Second Amendment is next!

  • Phil

Maybe you conservatives should come up with better candidates and a better message….John McCain can’t get a message across and even according to Jeb Bush and even the republican polls say Sarah Palin isn’t fit to be in politics….did you hear Jeb yesterday saying as politely as he could that she’s stupid… Also… The only message i’ve seen from the right is Obamas bad, he’s this and he’s that… But nothing on what policy changes your partys taken since President Bush was in office… Why wouldn’t the republicans run is back into this economic ditch again if you got the whitehouse and congress back….?..also… Besides telling me what’s diffrent about your partys policy you need to explain why you party leaders call President Obamas policys socialism but they turnaround and use those policys?..

I will agree that Sarah has said some not too smart things but believe me, next to Obummer she is mensa material!!!

I’ll tell you a diffrence in my liberal take on our president and you conservatives … President Obamas spending is on America…. And has real benifits for Americans…. The last administrations spending had zero benifits for America..multi billions ( trillions) were just flatout lost and wasted …this countrys infrastructure was just ignored while the republicans had the whitehouse and it’s going to take spending to bring it back to code and rebuilding the infrastructure will create jobs which will make this country strong again.. It’s not going to improve by sitting on our hands and I thank president Obama for taking action…. Did any of you conservatives honestly this he could turn this economy around in 1 year?…it’s gonna take his entire term… At least … I’ll decide after his 1st term if he’s helped the country…

    • Joe H.

Real benefits?!?!?!? Are you drunk??? We are so far in debt to China that my great-great-grandchildren will still be paying for it and thats a benefit???? Did he learn his lesson? nope he wants to spend billions more on another stimulus plan and the first one isn’t even spent yet!!! A jobs bill that only makes government jobs that only return like 10% on the investment where if the jobs were in the private sector would return about 35% in taxes!!

    • JC

Obama is spending the nation into oblivion. A 4 year old can work that out.

    • Joe H.

      Phil,
Did you look up HR956????? I’m gonna keep on till you do!!! HR956!!!

  • Phil

Question.. To anybody.. Was it socialism when President Bush decided to go around the FISA courts to domestic spy on citizens?…I opposed going around the courts.. Did any of you rightys?… At least president Obama is doing this the legal way… And he’s being up front… Bush/ Cheney kept most of they’re illegal acts secret…didn’t they?

    • Joe H.

      Phil,
Exactly who did the government spy on?? Don’t tell me the military as the UCM gives them the right to listen in on phone calls and open letters, and interupt ANY communication device the soldier uses!!!

      • Joe H.

        Phil,
        HR 956??????????

    • http://wwwNRA.com Stephaan

We don’t consider terrorist to be American citizens like you do, so I guess that’s where the argument is. We also don’t consider illegal aliens (Mexicans, La Razza) citizens either! Get the picture? I doubt it.

    • JC

So you think the key to your position lies in the comparing of evils?
The blue evil is less evil than the red evil, so that makes it right?
You seem intelligent enough, but you need to get your head up a little higher to get the big picture. Our whole system is cancer ridden and has been through many administrations both red and blue.
Your arguing one over the other is redundant at best.
We need to go back to being a Constitutional Republic as was meant by the framers.
And Obama…like Bush before him…has got to go!

  • s c

ET, come back and get Phil! You and your relatives are undocumented visitors. While you’re still here, Phil, don’t Bogart that joint. I need a strong hit so I can chill out. Even your high priest [Gore] doesn’t belch out the serious pollution you emit.
    Want some cheese to go that W H I N E ?

    • http://wwwNRA.com Stephaan

      S C,
E T won’t come back for Phull. He’s pizzed of at him cuz he stole two of his tin foil hats and several gallons of his kool aid.

  • eddie47d

S.C.; I don’t buy your rantings. There’s more free speech today than ever. Far more outlets and means to get information if you just care to look. Conservative, liberal,or what ever it’s out there. You should have listened to the conservatives in the 60′s and 70′s. they were constently attacking free speech. Civil Rights folks were beaten for speaking out (told to get back in the ghetto and stop causing “trouble”. Gay rights activists were told to shut up and get back in the closet. Women who wanted a good job and spoke up were told to get back in the kitchen. The list goes on and on;for conservatives stiffeled free speech in spades. Now you want to be a champion of free speech . Your a dollar short and many days late. But welcome aboard the free speech train anyway.

  • http://wwwNRA.com Stephaan

Barack O’LIAR just wants to control the internet because there is so much truth being spread around about him that he’s scared. He only wants information out there that he has “approved” of beforehand.

    • Joe H.

      Stephaan,
Let Obummer get reelected and you will see the disclaimer “I am Barrack Obama and I aprove of this message” on everything on the internet!!! There won’t be anything on here anti-Obummer!!!

  • Rod

This is just another attempt by the Radical left “elite progressive”
Dem’s to take over our lives and DICTATE the content of our conversations. More of what they are trying to do with Obama care
that is going on today at this moment in the summit. We are NOT BUYING IT!!!! We do not want their socialist style of Govt. that
is meant to lead to TYRANNY!!!!

  • Hey

Well, if BO and his cronies have their way, none of you will be able to speak your opinions about anything. Even the morons who put him in the WH, one of which I was NOT.

  • http://gmail Ice Man

As for Obee and his retards of cut and run dems. When they got in office they found out Bush’s stratigy was right and just to continue following the smart path. All dems are in love with government increased control of everything. It is the Chicogo and bush mentality way. Dems all want us to walk all over and 60% starve to death, like the Indians did every winter. Dems are such a bunch of tribal 3 world idoits. No individal thinking, it ruins the shamons mind set. I cann’t wait till the pim heads that voted for the socialist thug with EU love gives them all a fecal sandwich to feast on. Peant Carter is diss the Bamster, Ha Ha!!!!

  • eddie47d

What nonsense,I don’t think any of you grasp free speech. “Obamacare” summit was free speech in action and may the best points win. Several years ago the Democrates wanted a debate on the Iraq War. They were told there would be no debate and the war would go on. Talk about censorship!

    • Joe H.

      eddie47duh,
That was after all of them voted to go to war and gave Bush permission to declare war!!!! Remember I was for it before I was against it?????

  • Phil

I’ll admitt president Obamas spending is huge… Biggest yet… But can you tell me who the 2nd and 3rd biggest spenders were?…..and the same tax code we had while president Clinton was in office was bad because?…

    • Meteorlady

Clinton mostly cleared up the deficit because of actions by the Federal Reserve. He was trying but not succeeding until them.

If you talk about biggest spenders, you would have to include how the programs they signed into law turned out. I think FDR, LBJ and Clinton were the biggest because of the programs they initiated while in office (SS, Medicare, Medicaid and all the “Great Society” programs). If you want really big spenders then it would be the congress since 2005 or 2006. They initiated the budget for the next two or three years (can’t remember exactly) and it’s hugh!

      • Meteorlady

Ops, did not mean Clinton, meant Carter. Sorry

    • Joe H.

      Phil,
      Hr 956????

    • JC

Who cares? They’re gone! His Hopiness is taking us down NOW!

  • DaveH

Government needs to butt out of the Internet Marketplace. Since when has anything become more efficient with Government meddling? Their most likely goal is to control the free exchange of ideas on the Internet:
    http://reason.org/blog/show/net-neutrality-means-no-more-i

  • Godfrey Woods

You are all falling into the trap of “divide and conquer”. The motivation behind the censorship or more control over the internet is coming from those behind the “one world government” and “new world order”!! Agents of those 2 agendas are in both Democrat and Replublican parties!! They are also prevalent in the many governmental departments full of unelected officials who are wielding more and more power. Wake up America the USA is about “The Union” you are allowing this encroachment upon freedom by not sticking to the real issues. You are arguing amongst yourselves while those who are anti “The Union” are working to destroy it.

  • Rod

Like I keep saying, It’s nothing more than Obuma and his admin. taking
every step they can to take over every phase of our lives. We can’t
let it happen! They SLIME their way into our lives under the pretence
of keeping us safe. Safe from who? We need to stop them!!

    • Meteorlady

Blaming Obama for everything is not the answer, anymore than blaming Bush. Protesting what congress wants to do is. Each and every person here needs to be writing their representatives and protesting actions that we agree or disagree with.

After watching the live Health Care summit yesterday I fear that we are at a point where cooperation between parties is at an all time low. Repubs and Dems were to get equal time, but each time a Republican spoke Obama spoke in rebuttal and then turned it over to the Democrat. That resulted in the Dems getting way more air time. It was mostly a show by everyone, even though the Republicans brought facts and figures from the various budget offices, and it got sickening after awhile. Obama is not going to budge, the Democrats are now going to shove their senate bill through the house and once again the American pubic gets something that is put together in haste and has a lot of pork and freebies for the drug companies and insurance companies.

We need to let our representatives know that we elect them and they should listen to us and vote accordingly – not vote for what their party tells them. The Parties are now the problem because they take billions of dollars from corporations and fat cats. That money gets passed to the candidate and the candidate cannot run without it. We need to fix our system, not sit here and call each other names and make stupid and baseless comments. Unless we are united we can do nothing.

      • Joe H.

        Meteorlady,
It wa nothing but a dog and pony show. The best line was “yes it took longer cause I’m the president!!!!” good thing the office hasn’t gone to his head!!!!

        • usmadgirl

          Joe H,

Amen! What an arrogant jerk! (not you – O-dumbo) I’m not a big fan of McCain, even tho I voted for him as the “lesser of two Weasels”, but how long do you think O-dumbo practiced saying “We’re not campaigning anymore! The election is over!” And why hasn’t he practiced what he’s preaching to McCain. O-dumbo hasn’t stopped campaigning for over 2 years! What a lying, narcissistic sack of progressive evil crap!

Glenn has been trying to warn people what’s going to happen with Mark Lloyd for over a year. Everything Glenn has warned people about is taking place every day!

  • Rod

Remember, They don’t like anyone who does not agree with them! They
want to turn you off if you don’t agree with them. It all reeks of
Socialism and then TYRANNY. We need to stop them!

  • eddie47d

Rod;Both sides play the pity party when it comes to free speech. It goes back and forth all the time. Dave H. recommended a web sight. The one with Brad O’Leary which I thought was rather biased. This guy wants the conservative view to prevail so the whole 52 min speech was to his way of thinking. That’s okay, but he for the most part was just another conspiracy person. Too many “what if’s”. With all the nasty, bitter untrue political ads we all have to endure I wouldn’t be surprised if something gets censured. Free speech is never a licence to spread fear and hatred but there is plenty of it out there.

    • Joe H.

      eddie47dforduh!
you my friend are very wrong on freedom of speech!!! Do you believe the KKK are full of hate speech? Well when a D.A, thought the same thing a certain jewish lawyer took the case pro-bono. When the 6’6″ shin head sneered at the 5′ 7″ obviously jewish lawyer and asked why he would take HIS case, the lawyer said “while I completely detest what you said, I will defend with my life your right to say it in this country!” That is true freedom of speech!!! By the way, He won the case!!!

    • DaveH

      Then, Eddie, quit spreading it.

    • Meteorlady

So over the years you have lost little things:
Freedom to have the shower head you want; the size of your toile; seat belts; helmet laws; no trans fats; the Pledge of Allegiance in schools; wiretapping; the freedom to work and keep your own money, residential building codes; shoreline management acts, etc. Now the internet – the one true place where no regulation is required.

While some of these are small things that passed without you probably noticing, they are the foot in the door. Once that foot is in the door, larger things follow. When the government banned smoking in public places, I figured the food police would not be far behind and low – no trans fats.

My point is, that over the years we have given up freedoms because it either didn’t affect us or we didn’t really care enough. The federal government does not belong in our lives that way. Most of these laws are the result of special interests, while the others are just because the liberals think we need taking care of like small children.

I for one think that most of these regulations and laws are not needed if most people did the responsible thing and it would certainly save us a ton of money of the government would step out of our lives a good bit and get back to basics.

  • eddie47d

Dave H.; I thought you were smarter than the folks on This site, but I guess you align yourself with all the conspiracy people. Joe H.; Ive’ Heard that true story more than once, and i will defend your right to be a jerk too. Now that’s real freedom of speech,if you want to play silly games.

    • Joe H.

      eddie47dforduh,
I’ll bet you never checked to see if it is true, did you????? I already defended your right to be ignorant of facts and life so I guess we’re even!

  • David of Hawaii

This is further proof that Congress is Broke. We the Taxpayers must take back our country by first getting rid of the “Good Old Boys” that control our country: Say:
NO to FCC control of the internet
NO to any Congress Person with over 12 years.
NO to Congressional retirement and perks
NO to Congress having different Health Care AND Retirement Plan than they give us. Take back the money they stole
    NO to lobbyists
    NO to Congressional corruption
NO to bailout of large corporations
NO to CEO bonuses on taxpayer money
NO to Derivatives and other money laundering
NO to lending money you don’t have in hand
NO to brokers selling & repackaging mortgages
NO to credit card interest above 10%
NO to tax breaks for overseas manufacturing and out sourcing
    NO to foreign oil
NO to unequal Money Base. Use cost of top 100 items; bread, meat, milk, small car, small house of each country to compare
    YES TO VOTER POWER.
    NO More Career Congress Persons.
Pass this to all your friends over and over EVERY election till they “VOTE” NO More Career Congress Persons. .

    • http://www.NRA.com Stephaan

      David in Hawaii,
That all sounds good except for putting time limits aka “term limits” on good conservative reps and senators, and voting all incumbents out after only a few years makes no sense.
When we get GOOD CONSERVATIVE reps in Congress, we need to KEEP them in there working for us. Get rid of the liberal socialists WITH THE BALLOT BOX, and keep the good ones who represent us.
It is very difficult and time consuming to try and replace a good conservative rep, and how do we know if the rube running for office is a genuine conservative until we see how he votes in Congress. Getting rid of good conservatives just because someone screams “term limits”, or “vote all the incumbents out”, is counter productive and a waste of our time trying to replace them with “another good conservative”. Lets just use the ballot box like it was intended, and work on getting rid of the liberal socialists FIRST! That is a big enough job in itself..

  • http://webenaked@aol.com Belinda

I am disgusted at the ignorance of this person claiming to be pres, what did my father, his father and my father in law fight for?
