Barack Obama’s Lying Liars

January 28, 2011 by

Barack Obama’s Lying Liars

No, I am not talking about the President’s State of the Union speech from this past Tuesday. Thanks to the deadline demands at Personal Liberty Digest, I had to finish this column the day before that oration. I will comment next week on Obama’s performance (which I expect to be filled with platitudes and promises that the media will love — and the White House won’t keep).

My topic today is the great debate over raising — for the 81st time since 1940 — the ceiling on how deeply in debt the Federal government can go. Right now, Washington is not allowed to borrow a dollar over $14.29 trillion. And they’re already within $300 billion of that limit, give or take a few billion bucks.

To hear our officials tell it, if Congress doesn’t vote to let the Treasury borrow more billions, and do it now, the U.S. will face the biggest calamity since women started wearing slacks.

I’ll have more to say about our Treasury Secretary’s blustering baloney in a moment. As everyone knows who’s been paying attention, Timothy Geithner is one of the biggest lying liars to ever hold high office, to use Sen. Al Franken’s inimitable phrase. He is without a doubt one of the slickest, smoothest-talking apologists for massive, irresponsible government spending I’ve heard, second only to his boss.

But our boy Tim is a mild-mannered milquetoast compared to Austan Goolsbee. If you’ve never heard of Goolsbee, I’m not surprised. Even though he carries a very prestigious title as chairman of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, he mostly toils in the obscurity his incompetence so richly merits.

To say Goolsbee is a mouthpiece for President Barack Obama’s White House is like saying McDonald’s likes to sell hamburgers. Of course he is. He would never have been given his present job if he weren’t. So when he says things like “the impact on the economy would be catastrophic” if Congress doesn’t once again raise the debt ceiling, you know the message is coming straight from the Oval Office. He is the Charlie McCarthy to Obama’s Edgar Bergen. (Kids, ask your grandparents what that means.)

Normally, when some high government mucky-muck issues a pronouncement that should make his nose grow longer than Pinocchio’s, I just yawn and move on. But this gem from goofy Goolsbee really got my goat: “If we get to the point where we damage the full faith and credit of the United States, that would surely be the first default in history caused purely by insanity.”

Get that? If Congress doesn’t raise the debt ceiling, it can only be because those of us who insist the spigot be turned off are nuts. Not raising the debt ceiling will be a calamity of unimaginable proportions.

Geithner says it a little smoother, but his message is the same. In a four-page letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Geithner said, “Never in our history has Congress failed to increase the debt limit when necessary. Failure to raise the limit would precipitate a default by the United States.”

Geithner then goes on to list all of the horrendous consequences such a lapse would bring — no Medicaid payments to the states, no student loans, no salaries and retirement benefits for our military, no income-tax refunds, no veterans’ benefits. And just in case you aren’t already shaking in your boots, no Social Security or Medicare benefits.

Wowser. I can already hear the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth at the prospect of such a disaster.

There’s just one thing wrong with Geithner’s and Goolsbee’s horrifying scenario: It isn’t true. In fact, it’s a total, 100 percent fabrication. Or to be blunt, it’s a lie. And both distinguished public servants know it.

Here’s the truth: “If Congress refuses to raise the debt ceiling, the Federal government will still have far more than enough money to fully service our debt.” I put that statement in quotation marks because it wasn’t me who said it; it was Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.).

Now before you conclude that Toomey has been inhaling too much medical marijuana, let me explain. It’s true that interest payments on our national debt cost a hefty amount — around $1.3 billion a day, in fact. But that sum, staggering as it is, represents only 6.5 percent of all projected Federal expenditures. Uncle Sam receives more than 10 times that amount in tax revenue. So Toomey wants Congress to pass a bill that will require the Treasury to make interest payments on our debt its first priority.

How do you like them apples? Just agree to pay our debts first and there can be no default on them. With the stroke of a pen, the problem is solved.

Well, not completely solved. There’s still that pesky matter of Obama wanting to spend a trillion dollars or so more than the Treasury will take in. What can you do about that?

I guess it’s pretty ridiculous to ask a few of Obama’s favorite billionaires to make up the difference. There will be no passing the hat in Hollywood; no fund-raisers sponsored by George Soros, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet or their buddies.

So what can we do? How about cutting spending?

How about doing what every responsible family in America learned long ago to do: Match expenditures to income. Don’t borrow more than you can afford, just because you want some shiny new toys.

With $14.29 trillion in debt, I will argue, ladies and gentlemen, that we have already borrowed way more than we can afford. We have already put enormous burdens on our children and grandchildren — and probably their children and grandchildren as well.

You know what? A lot of people agree with me. Let me call one of them to the witness stand now. This is what then-Senator Barack Obama said in 2006, when he wanted to embarrass then-President George W. Bush about raising the debt ceiling back then:

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.”

Wouldn’t you like to see the same commitment to “our children and grandchildren” from Obama today?

By the way, Senator Obama wasn’t the only person on the left-hand side of the aisle to oppose raising the debt ceiling four years ago. Nevada’s Harry Reid declared that “my Republican friends… should explain why they think more debt is good for the economy.” The soon-to-be Majority Leader then promised, “Democrats won’t be making arguments to support this legislation, which will weaken our country.”

I wish I could tell you that the Republican leadership in Washington today can be counted on to stand strong on this issue. Unfortunately, I’m afraid the opposite is true; I suspect they will cave and compromise, as they have so often in the past.

Already, House Speaker John Boehner has gone on record saying that he’ll support raising the debt ceiling because “we have to be adults (about the problem).” Even author and economist Art Laffer, who has toed a pretty tough line in the past, says the “prudent” thing to do today is to raise the debt ceiling — but demand something in return.

How can we possibly reduce spending enough to live within our means? For one possible answer, please go to www.DownsizingGovernment.org. This is where you’ll find a page-by-page, line-by-line review of the Federal budget by one of my favorite Washington organizations, the Cato Institute. They provide a detailed and convincing analysis of how to reduce spending by $1.375 trillion.

Yes, it can be done. Now the crucial question is, will it?

Please do your part by demanding that your Congressman vote no on raising the debt ceiling. And then get as many friends and relatives as you can to do the same. For a start, how about sending them this column? And asking them to send it a dozen other people?

We don’t have to lose this battle. We don’t have to spend ourselves into bankruptcy. And no, we don’t have to default on a single dollar of our national debt.

We do have to stop listening to lying liars such as Timothy Geithner and Austan Goolsbee. And the sooner the better.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

Chip, you left out the biggest liar in the current, half-arsed administration – the prez. I realize this point will be lost on the truly lost [Obummer's many jockstrap supporters], however, if Obummer managed to grasp the importance of the significance of the nation’s debt limit and this administration’s UTTERLY FAILED LEADERSHIP, then he should be able to look into a mirror and recognize the truth-hating, twisted MONSTER staring back at him.
And, that also goes for Obummer’s pathetic jockstrap supporters. You could say the ‘acorn’ never falls far from the diseased tree. You could say this administration needs to be replaced like a non-functioning, backed-up toilet. You can say many things about this useful idiot administration. To make a long story short, America can’t afford Obummer or anyone in his useless, economy-destroying, war-mongering, career criminal administration.

Now what was it that Obama wants to do to curb the deficit? Obama’s proposal for a five-year freeze on the operating budgets passed by Congress each year for domestic Cabinet agencies will really cut the fat. As Paul Ryan said, “Our debt is the product of acts by many presidents and many Congresses over many years. Unfortunately, instead of restoring the fundamentals of economic growth, he(Obama) engaged in a stimulus spending spree that not only failed to deliver on its promise to create jobs, but also plunged us even deeper into debt.”
Michele Bachmann said it right also saying, “many of you implored Washington to please stop spending money we don’t have. But, instead of cutting, we saw an unprecedented explosion of government spending and debt. It was unlike anything we have seen before.”

All I can do is laugh(really cry)at the Marxist in charge. Now it’s said he learning to compromise and has moved a bit towards the center. This will only piss off all the hard core lefties. After the SOTU his speech is being hailed as being Reagan-esque by the lamestream media. What a load! I always thought all the liberals and lefties hated Reagan, afterall they’ve pounded on him since 1981 and haven’t stopped yet.

This all reminds me of a piece I read in Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”. It goes something like this: “True revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism, Alinsky taught. They cut their hair, put on suits and infiltrate the system from within.”

“The tenth rule… is you do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral garments…. It involves sifting the multiple factors which combine in creating the circumstances at any given time… Who, and how many will support the action?…

He’s been in campaign mode since 2007 and he’s ramping it up a notch or two now! If Obama could take a piece from Yogi Berra he’d say, “I really didn’t say everything I said”.
In response, the great Yogi Berra would have said, ” You can observe a lot by watching”.

      • JeffH

Why did Bernie Madoff go to prison? To make it simple, he talked people into investing with him. Trouble was, he didn’t invest their money. As time rolled on he simply took the money from the new investors to pay off the old investors. Finally there were too many old investors and not enough money from new investors coming in to keep the payments going.

Next thing you know Madoff is one of the most hated men in America and he is off to jail. Some of you know this. but not enough of you.

Madoff did to his investors what the government has been doing to us for over 70 years with Social Security. There is no meaningful difference between the two schemes, except that one was operated by a private individual who is now in jail, and the other is operated by politicians who enjoy perks, privileges and status in spite of their actions.

          • James

Dan az, I agree, our national debt is now at $14.2 trillion (which increases daily by an a average of $4.17 billion) and 17.9% of that debt is owned by the Social Security Trust Fund. That is, Congress has spent all of the FDIC funds on other projects and owes the S.S. Trust Fund $2.54 trillion. And with babyboomers now retiring, the FDIC revenue is less than S.S. paayments.

Good Article! & Well said Jeff HAAs far as the Libs painting Bambi as Reaganesque?_ P-toohey!
Bambi’s moving to the center because he wants re-election, who the hell does he and his Admin. think they’re fooling here?__ Colin Powell, “said the problem today is, the Media, and the PEOPLE know too much!?”That’s tough beans Mr. owl Knowledge is the ammo we need, to arm ourselves.
Bambi’s appearance of moving to the center, is nothing but another dog and pony show, and it will be business as usual, “If” he gets re-elected. Then in Hollywood fashion, he’ll conviently slide back into his Marxist suit. Time will tell if “his” upper echelon boss’s think, he’s worth putting back in office for another four years, but they’ll let us vote to make it look as if we have a say (gotta keep up appearances you know!).__Besides time and time again, History shows, that No body is better at spending taxpayer money, than a Progressive!
They say if you repeat a lie often enough enventually, it will be perseved as truth. Well the progressives can parrot Reagan/Obama allllll they want, Obama is not now or ever will be Reagan is any sense!

He will tone down his far left wing liberal rhetoric in order to appeal to people, in an effort to remain in power. I know it, you know it, and hopefully the uneducated voters that pulled his lever now know it. He is such an eloquent liar, who knows how to buffalo people, much in the mold of one William Jefferson Clinton, the biggest liar to ever walk the floors of the White House. He needs to go as soon as possible. We cannot afford more of this losing attempts to force socialism upon us by these left wing liberals. They need to go now.

Hmm? Then offering some examples shouldn’t be a problem, I would think.

BoB Wire, William Jefferson Clinton “I did not have Sex with that Woman?” Although his escapades were Crimes of the heart, he made a comedic mockery of the office of the President. While most Liberals blew it off as a ” Good Ole Boy” antics, as far as I’m concerned he lost all credibility. Any one who knows anything, that sex and perks, are offered for votes and getting what a perticular party member wants. And is what largely rules Washington elitests.A BIG Hat tip to Billiary who had publically put up with the humiliation. “Clinton” and “Billery” are Bilderbergers as well, and doing Soros bidding. Soros originally backed Billary for President, but chose Bambi instead. I guess Soros thought Bambi would react quicker, while he pulls the strings?!__Bambi didn’t let Soros down, did he?!

The only hope the progs have, is to hope that the rest of their sheep won’t wake up!

The country has had a debt for a long time…we have raised the debt ceiling many times,as Chip Wood points out, under Dems and Repubs as well. Because we have a larger debt due to the largest crash in 80 yrs does not mean that we should suddenly freak out about the debt and act like we are broke, and make radical cuts in both spending and taxes(the Bush tax cuts). We need to keep the modest recovery going and it will not continue if we create more unemployment by cutting gov’t programs that are keeping some people employed and consumer spending incresing. Like it or not,our economy is based largely on consumer spending. GDP is up 3.2%…

Bob Wire, you would not know what an exmple was if you saw one. All the evidence is there if you would only take off you blinders. If I can see this clearly, you should be able to also. Wake up and you woll see what Nobama and his cronies are doing to our country. If you can’t see what is happening without examples, then it is too late for you, Bob.

          • Doug

Clit-on I left a surplus and balanced the budget! Sure if you think taking money out of the SS fund and moving it into the general fund sure you left a surcharge. Hey Bob-Wire want to play some 2 card monty!

          • DaveH

For anybody that thinks we can borrow our way out of a problem. Think about this — If you can’t live within your means now, how are you going to live within your means later when you have the same bills to manage as before with the added expense of debt repayment?
This is true for individuals or groups of individuals (as in Country).
The only way our country is going to get back on its feet is to increase productivity (work harder or smarter). What is it that makes people work harder? Do you work harder if somebody is taking most of your money? I think not. Do you work harder if somebody is throwing obstacles in your pathway? I think not. Do you work harder is somebody supports you regardless of your output? I think not.
We have too many chiefs these days and not enough indians, and too many obstacles. That is the problem we need to correct.

Here is a chart on total Government spending as a percentage of the Gross Domestic Product since 1900. Notice particularly that spending in 1950 was about half of current spending. Are we twice as safe now?

Denniso still thinks the economy is gonna be all peachy keen in two years and Nobama is gonna be reelected even though the new unemployment files rose by well over 40,000 last week!!!! If that’s peacky keen, we all better tighten our belts as the cupboard is gonna be empty!!

          • bob wire

“BoB Wire, William Jefferson Clinton “I did not have Sex with that Woman?” Although his escapades were Crimes of the heart, he made a comedic mockery of the office of the President. ”

Thanks Angel ~ you are the only poster that responded to my simple suggesting that an example of these lies shouldn’t be to unreasonable to ask for.

The rest acted like I was asking for the keys to Fort Knox or something, attacking me in all various different ways for simply asking for an example.

Yea, you are right! Willy lied about that one. But you know Angle, whenever people ask me such questions about who I’m having or had sex with, I lie too or tell them it’s none of their business.

If there is no grounds for a felony, I don’t see that it “is” anyone’s business. I could easily be much less polite then Bill Clinton was about it. It’s not just one persons privacy violation at stake here but at least two.

How would any woman like it if every man she ever had sex with went around telling anyone and everyone about it who asked?

Really now , be honest Angel, how is that suppose to work, between men and women? I’ve never known of a case where it worked well for anyone.

People that go around asking such questions usually are the ones that’s not getting any and are feeling a host of twisted thoughts.

So are we mad because he lied or that he was getting a little? or as some claim where it took place? ~ Well the Brits burnt the place down in what? 1812 ~ so I think the “new” had worn off the place.

Now if holding a public office requires such a dis-closer, I’m surprised anyone healthy bothers to run for public office, ~ ain’t you?

I know you don’t go by Anglewannabe without some good reason. You are not going to tell us about it if we ask are you?

          • DaveH

            Yeah,
What difference does it make, Bob Wire, that the President of the Country, The Chief Sexual Harrasser, should lie to a grand jury?
What difference does it make that the most powerful man in the country was using his power to seduce numerous women in the process cheating on his wife? Why should we care that the man who can’t even be faithful to his wife has our lives in his hands?
I mean we all know that, even though any mortal man would have his life ruined by sexual harrassment charges, Clinton was a government official, thereby immune to the rules the rest of us live by.

          • http://! Angel Wannabe

BoB wire, What I do as a civilian, IS my business Bob._BUT_ If I took the oath of office of the President of the United States, my business and how I conduct my self both privately & publically, then becomes the business of the people I took the oath to serve. It is the way I see it.
We all have things in our past bob, we rather not have done. NONE of us are angels, if we were, they’re wouldn’t be the Bible to correct us would there?___
Question remains with Clinton, if he can’t be trusted caring for someones heart(his wife and Daughter), how can any of us, trust him with the direction of our lives???__Your serve :)!

The trouble is Marvin, is the fact that the Liberals and Progressives just don’t care about our country the way we Conservatives do. We have druggies, thieves, children molesters, the list goes on and on, and then we have the LIberals and Progressives. They are all bad for this country. Where are all the decent Democrats? I’ll also have to admit that we have had some bad Republicans as well. This is why we need to vote people in Congress, and other elected offices, that has good moral values along with integrity. I jst hope the Tea Party can come up with this type of Cadidate. Mike Hucklebee would be a good place to start looking for a decent president.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Albert n Angel,
I’m right between the two of you so I guess at 60 I qualify as an old fart myself. I can remember the late 50s and what they were like. Like the fact that my dad never locked his doors at night, like he never locked his car at night, like he never worried if I was out playing with the other kids in the neighborhood, we respected the cops, and most importantly we respected our flag and the country it stood for!!!

          • http://! Angel Wannabe

I’m hearing that Joe, hell in our neighborhood, in the summer we’d stay out til 10-11 at night, playing in the fields. Old Ike the farmer, I remember hearing him plowing and planting in the neigboring fields til way after one in the morning. We never locked our doors either Joe. The dog was our burgler alarm and The only time we saw the police, was when they were needed!

          • Karolyn

Well, I live in a place where I STILL don’t lock my doors at night and I live alone with my two dogs. Even when I lived in NJ in the country, I didn’t lock my doors. I refuse to live in fear.

          • http://! Angel Wannabe

Karolyn, Refusing to live in fear, and not doing your part do to protect yourself (like turning on your door lock), is just plain irresponsible & stupid!_

          • DaveH

And what has changed between now and the 1950s, Joe? Big Government is what. I almost got through my high school years without knowing a thing about drugs. And I lived in a seedy neighborhood. Then the do-gooders started the drug busts and then the drug wars, and suddenly classmates all around me were doing drugs. They, as I, were completely oblivious until the Government gave the industry free publicity and anybody with teenagers knows they are always looking for ways to flaunt authority.
You gotta love them (NOT). They create the problems and then offer themselves as the solutions to those problems.

          • Karolyn

Angel, Why is it irresponsible and stupid? In my youth I used to hang out on the lower eastside in NYC (not a good area). I had no fear then; nothing ever ever happened. It’s the person who walks in a bad neighborhood with his eyes on the ground, looking scared, is the one who’s gonna get mugged. I’m not stupid. I’ve lived here for 5.5 years and know my area, just as I knew he places I lived in NJ. People questioned my opening a store in Easton, PA becasue of the crime reputation. I never got robbed or mugged and had only a few things shoplifted during those 5 years.

          • Bruce D.

Drug busts had nothing to do with the proliferation of drugs. I grew up in that era also. There were no drugs busts in our area and few if any of my friends read the newspaper. Drugs came about by pushers bringing them to parties. Being something new to try and not understanding there were long term side effects people took them out of curiosity and pushers claiming they were fun. People tried them and they were fun. That is why drugs took off like they did. They were fun. They did not do them out of rebellion for authority. People today still take things like Oxyiecontin legally long after the pain is gone because they are fun, not understanding the power of addiction. In college people promoted drugs as being a way of expanding the mind and making you smarter. The idea that drugs were harmful for you in any way never even entered peoples mind. The police really had nothing to do with it.

          • Bruce D.

I would like to add that I saw a show on TV were todays kids are going into their parents medicine cabinet and using the parents prescribed drugs and become addicted. I am of the opinion that doctors are as big a problem as drug pushers in the proliferation of drugs. It can be somewhat bizarre when a new drug comes out and there are ten or more possible dangerous side effects to them. Drugs may have some short term medical benefits but extended use is an indication of a spiritual disease. Or for atheist an indication of a weak mind with drugs making their mind even weaker as it distorts the power of focus which gives people the power to determine their own future.

Are you trying to make the Liberals look good, Bruce? It is you who apparently has the mental problems.
Bruce says “Drugs came about by pushers bringing them to parties”. Sure Bruce, but they didn’t do that before the Drug busting era? Why not?
And They’ve been fighting those futile drug wars for 40 years now. Einstein’s definition of insanity — keep trying the same over and over again expecting different results.
I won’t insult all religious people, Bruce, just you. With or without drug usage, somehow your brain has been addled. I would call you ignorant, but that would be an insult to ignorant people.

          • DaveH

So, Bruce, maybe you should talk to your local minister or priest. I am sure they would tell you that insulting atheists isn’t the Christian thing to do. Try practicing your own religion before you insult others. It seems to me that you are the one who is spiritually lacking.

          • DaveH

Things for intelligent people to consider (that leaves out you know who):
In 1980 there were 580,900 drug arrests. In 2005 there were 1,846,351 drug arrests. Are the police getting better, or is the drug usage rate actually going up in the face of the drug wars?
In 2010 there were 15,273 drug-related killings in Mexico, up from 9,616 in 2009.
There are about 17,000 deaths annually attributed to illicit drugs.
In 2010, the various US Governments spent over $40 Billion on the failed Drug War.
There are about 85,000 deaths annually attributed to Alcohol.
There are about 435,000 deaths annually attributed to Tobacco.
In 2009 the US Government paid out $202,918,426 in Tobacco subsidies.
They spend Billions fighting the Drug Wars each year, but subsidize Tobacco which causes 15 times the number of deaths in the US. What is wrong with this picture?
Do you feel like you’re being taken for a ride?

            DaveH,
If someone wants to do drugs I don’t care as long as it doesn’t affect my life or anybody elses. The trouble is in 99% of the cases it DOES. with drugs almost all of the time there is no such thing as a victimless crime whether it’s the guys kids, his wife, or the public. When the user has fried his brain, the world expects us to support them even though it is a self inflicted condition! when I realized I was starting to drink too much, I quit. That was almost 29 years ago and I haven’t touched a drop since. I go to parties and get togethers where it is consumed and it doesn’t bother me at all. Had I not quit, I would be in the same condition as these poor excuses for human beings but I wouldn’t expect the world to take care of me and it wouldn’t be their job!! Again it is just another case of avoidance of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!!!!

          • Bruce D.

You said last week on a post Dave that you did not take drugs. Now you say I am personally attacking you because of my comment about drug users. You get emotionally upset Dave if I or anyone else disagrees with you even in the least bit.

            Joe H writes:
“If someone wants to do drugs I don’t care as long as it doesn’t affect my life or anybody elses.”

Good. So you agree with the position that drug possession and use is none of the “nanny” governments business.

Joe H: “The trouble is in 99% of the cases it DOES.”

Cite please. And explain how the use of some drugs fit in your 99% but other drugs that are obviously more harmful do not.

Joe H: “with drugs almost all of the time there is no such thing as a victimless crime whether it’s the guys kids, his wife, or the public.”

So it IS the person and not the drug. However your statement seems to be proposing that we re-instate Prohibition. Am I missing your point?

Joe H: “When the user has fried his brain, the world expects us to support them even though it is a self inflicted condition!”

The world expect a lot of things. We are only required to do them when government forces us to at gunpoint.

Joe H: “when I realized I was starting to drink too much, I quit. That was almost 29 years ago and I haven’t touched a drop since.”

Well done. Congrats. Good, sensible adult behavior. As I would expect from reading many of your opinions. Btw my problem was smoking. When I realized that I was becoming addicted I to quit cold turkey as they say. Never to smoke again.

Joe H.: “Had I not quit, I would be in the same condition as these poor excuses for human beings but I wouldn’t expect the world to take care of me and it wouldn’t be their job!!”

And so it isn’t however the war on (some) drugs rages on in-spite of the adults here.

          • Bruce D.

Nice post Joe H. on personal responsibility. The problem with drug users is that they never think taking drugs is a problem. It is those around them that have to deal with their emotional instability and nonsense.

          • DaveH

You can dish it out, Bruce, but you can’t take it.
The truth is that it is none of your business what anybody puts in their body, unless they harm you. And I don’t mean mentally. If that were a crime than you would be in jail, as I’m sure you behave in life like you do on this board, so you must harm people mentally on a regular basis.
You indicated the other day that you were okay with police triple tapping a man for the crime of wielding a golf club. So who is the aggressor here? Who is breaking religious code?
You aren’t a very good example of a religious person. You are more like the Pharisees in Biblical times. Do you think that just pronouncing you are religious somehow makes you superior to others? You show very few signs of practicing what you preach.
If I was religious, I’d be trying to shut you up because you are making religious people look bad.

Hey Bruce, Ive got to defend DaveH on this one. Just what does someone being an atheist have to do with stealing drugs from your parents? And Dave does not attack anyone and everyone with opposing views to his. You see Bruce, if youve been paying attention, DaveH is an atheist, and I am a Christian. We have a different outlook on things from the very opposite ends of this spectrum. Yet I find many, many of his arguments to be whole hearted truth, and not only that, he backs them up with sound reason. But your assertation connecting atheists with drug stealing from their parents medicine cabinet is just wrong. In my life, I have seen good Christian people who did all the right things with their kids, and the kid still grew up to be a drug addict and rotten to the core. And I have known rotten drunken alcoholic drug users, whose kids have grown up to be pastors. Much of it is the crowd we run around with during our teen years.

The recent elections placed a large number of Independents and Republicans in Congress and a number of Republican Governors. If they truly want to get rid of this administration and the Liberal Democrats that come up for re-election in 2012, it is imperative to close the loopholes in voting. There are a number of states that do not require an ID check and therein lies how the Democrats get voted in. They do it with voting as much as 7 or 8 times, use illegal immigrants and felons and most recently rigged the voting machine in Nevada. You don’t really believe Harry Reid won fairly do you? He said he would use the illegal immigrant vote but did not mention his union buddies rigging the voting machines so regardless of who the vote was for, it came out for him. This rat is going to jail himself if they find President Obama wasn’t born in the U.S.,but since we don’t have anyone in Congress with any guts, this will have to wait until 2012 when he will have to vetted again. Democrat’s are no longer in the majority in the House and it won’t happen again. I believe Obama will not choose to run again because of this.

A driver’s license isn’t sufficient as evidenced in the people working the the Division of Motor Vehicles were caught in Florida giving licenses to illegal immigrants under the table. Voter Registration Cards with signature and verification of that signature must be included as well as current residence. Of course, some would find a way to get around this but would discourage most as they knew they would be going to jail if caught.

      • Dick Gazinia

From the NY Times: Republican responder the the state of the union speech, Pau Ryan made highly dubious assertions about employment, health care and more. But what caught my eye, when I read the transcript, was what he said about other countries: “Just take a look at what’s happening to Greece, Ireland, the United Kingdom and other nations in Europe. They didn’t act soon enough; and now their governments have been forced to impose painful austerity measures: large benefit cuts to seniors and huge tax increases on everybody.”

It’s a good story: Europeans dithered on deficits, and that led to crisis. Unfortunately, while that’s more or less true for Greece, it isn’t at all what happened either in Ireland or in Britain, whose experience actually refutes the current Republican narrative.

Which brings me back to Paul Ryan and his response to President Obama. Again, American conservatives have long used the myth of a failing Europe to argue against progressive policies in America. More recently, they have tried to appropriate Europe’s debt problems on behalf of their own agenda, never mind the fact that events in Europe actually point the other way.

But Mr. Ryan is widely portrayed as an intellectual leader within the G.O.P., with special expertise on matters of debt and deficits. So the revelation that he literally doesn’t know the first thing about the debt crises currently in progress tells a lot about truthfulness from conservatives, too.

        Let’s keep them all honest.

But then, American conservatives have long had their own private Europe of the imagination — a place of economic stagnation and terrible health care, a collapsing society groaning under the weight of Big Government. The fact that Europe isn’t actually like that — did you know that adults in their prime working years are more likely to be employed in Europe than they are in the United States? — hasn’t deterred them. So we shouldn’t be surprised by similar tall tales about European debt problems.

Let’s talk about what really happened in Ireland and Britain.

On the eve of the financial crisis, conservatives had nothing but praise for Ireland, a low-tax, low-spending country by European standards. The Heritage Foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom ranked it above every other Western nation. In 2006, George Osborne, now Britain’s chancellor of the Exchequer, declared Ireland “a shining example of the art of the possible in long-term economic policy making.” And the truth was that in 2006-2007 Ireland was running a budget surplus, and had one of the lowest debt levels in the advanced world.

So what went wrong? The answer is: out-of-control banks; Irish banks ran wild during the good years, creating a huge property bubble. When the bubble burst, revenue collapsed, causing the deficit to surge, while public debt exploded because the government ended up taking over bank debts. And harsh spending cuts, while they have led to huge job losses, have failed to restore confidence.

The lesson of the Irish debacle, then, is very nearly the opposite of what Mr. Ryan would have us believe. It doesn’t say “cut spending now, or bad things will happen”; it says that balanced budgets won’t protect you from crisis if you don’t effectively regulate your banks — a point made in the newly released report of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, which concludes that “30 years of deregulation and reliance on self-regulation” helped create our own catastrophe.

Revolts are easily hyjacked by self-serving idealist that haven’t the neither the skills or vision to lead. This pitfall is so often repeated in history over and over again.

It’s my hope the US and Israel stay far away for now and allow this to run it’s natural course, seeing just how bad does these people want their country back and some control over their lives.

            bob wire,

We need to be careful what we wish for. If/when the government falls, it will almost certainly be replaced with an Islamist regime. Much like the underground work of the communists in the past, the Muslim extremists are at their most effective when they foment and agitate unrest amongst the poor populations.

For all the faults of the Shah of Iran, our problems would most likely have been miniscule if he had remained in power. Mubarak is the same, a dictator who is very far from perfect, but his downfall may very well result in something must more unstable and dangerous than the alternative.

Dictatorships, Islamic “republics,” caliphates, sheikdoms and tribal law all characterize the Middle East. Israel is the ONLY country in the area that has a democratic form of government, a large middle class and prosperity for most.

I’ll go out on a limb and say that the stability of the ME would have been much better if Hussein had remained in power. At least the nefarious aims of Iran in encircling Israel with Hamas, Hezbollah and a puppet gov’t in Lebanon would have been blunted to a degree by Hussein’s power. Our aims in Afghanistan and Iraq are doomed to failure, and all we would have accomplished is to further destabilize the area.

          • Vigilant

And also, bob, you said, “I look for this day to come soon in Iran as well…The problems ahead will be “what” fills this vacuum?”

The day already came and went in Iran when the Islamic revolution replaced the Shah. What we see now in Iran is what we will see in Egypt unless some middle ground can be obtained.

        • DaveH

Sure, Dick, blame it on the banks. Did the banks force Government to borrow and spend? Look up the European countries in this list (pick the country link), and look for their Government Expenditures as a percentage of GDP; then look up their Government Tax Revenues as a percentage of GDP. You will see that their Governments are spending more than they take in. In some cases a lot more. That goes straight to the National Debt. How long can anybody or any country keep piling on Debt before things come crashing down?
          http://heritage.org/index/ranking

          • DaveH

Here’s an example. Ireland’s Government expenditures are 42 percent of GDP. Their tax revenue is 30.8 percent of GDP. They are spending 11.2 percent more of their GDP than they are getting in tax revenues. That goes straight to National Debt. If they hold that same rate for 7 years their National Debt will have more than doubled.

The Banks “went out of control” because the US Federal Government authorized loans to unqualified people(no money down) and then pressured banks(ACORN & Barney F) to make these loans and guaranteed these loans through Fannie & Freddie. The “ownership society” was pushed since Carter, and the Bushies, being good Progressives, pushed it too.It was Government Over Regulation-Manipulation that led to the real estate bubble.Throw in some FED monetizing the debt for good measure and voila, our current toxic financial stew, which while bad will get much worse this year,in 2011.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Actually, this bank collapse, was the work of one William Jefferson Clinton, who said “everyone should live the American dream of owning a house”. Only he forgot the part about working and being responsible and actually paying for the house. So he set up using these Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac funds, having the government guarantee these loans, so the banks lent to people who didnt have a snowballs chance in hell of paying them back. Oh yeah, and Barney Frank was the head of the oversight commitee on this, and when Bush called for an investigation, Frank shot it down and said none was needed. Yes, this was Bill Clinton all over the place.

He doesnt remember what he says, because its not from him. He just reads it on his teleprompter, and when you just read stuff, and its not from you, you dont remember it, and all the baloney starts to run together, and he doesnt remember any of it, because he didnt think of it. And as it all keeps blowing up, the lib democrats will turn their pointy fingers at him and blame him, to save themselves. That is who we are dealing with. You watch and see.

Trouble is our idiot legislators think he is just making bad decisions concerning our future.Wake up fools, before it is to late!!It is time for Republicans to grow a set and say no to Obamas” destructive spending. The SCOTUS refuses to hear cases brought to them about his eligibility, it’s time to start impeachment proceedings. It might not get him out of office but at least it would keep him busy stopping further destruction. This person is the greatest threat to our Country ever!! GET HIM OUT OF OFFICE NOW!!!

By the way, there is a video of Obama before he was elected where he is saying that he is NOT an American; that he was NOT born in Hawaii, and it is inconceivable to me that this can’t be used as proof that he is NOT eligible to be the president of this, the greatest country on God’s green earth.

      “To conquer, first divide!!!”

I’ll try this again, not that it will matter.

What follows is the REGULATION, which governs what is required by 26 USC 3402

Please note the word “voluntary” followed by the word “may”.

Find an employer that believes “may” is an option?

Find an accountant or tax attorney that is familiar with this section?

For fun call the IRS and ask about this?

No “volunatry withholding agreement” in place ( w-4 ) means nothing is
with held from paycheck. no matching contributions of any kind by employer
( you both just got a raise ) and no w-2 is issued at end of year,
which means no requirement to FILE, and no “jurisdiction” exists
      for the IRS to act.

Income or Taxable income is profit and or gain. Wages are not income.

Social Security and other Fica contributions are

a Tax on Wages…….period! That’s all they are, ever were, and since the
bill was passed in 1935, when life expectancy was 49 to 59, they expected to
pay NO ONE……of course, Fleming’s 1929 oversight and “modern medicine” was
lurking……..but the stupid politicians then, resemble the stupid one’s now,
as well as all those “college grads” who got bilked to acquire a piece of
paper that says they have permission to think about a very narrow area of
human activity. ( and are usually wrong and dangerous to your health in so
      many ways.)

Now enter the real reason for SS and Zip codes……UCC 1-207 and the
recurring theme……if something is actually “voluntary” but you “believe”
it is mandatory……you are subject to what ever penalties apply.

You will note ( or should have ) that there is no mandatory requirement to
purchase health care, under the new health care bill. ( so no penalty )

Unless you “believe” there is. If you have NOT used UCC 1-207 ( reservation
of rights ) you have by “implied consent” made your self “subject” to
      the “jurisdiction” ( contract ) in force. ( admiralty and/or maritime )

BTW since there IS no actual penalty in the health care bill, attempts
to claim it is “unconstitutional” will fail……just like the voluntary
with holding agreement……..YOU VOLUNTEERED!!!!! ( get it yet? )

      Enjoy!!!!!

      Title 26: Internal Revenue
PART 31—EMPLOYMENT TAXES AND COLLECTION OF INCOME TAX AT SOURCE
Subpart E—Collection of Income Tax at Source

      § 31.3402(p)-1 Voluntary withholding agreements.
      (a) In general. An employee and his employer may enter into an agreement under section 3402(b)

to provide for the withholding of income tax upon payments of amounts described in paragraph

(b)(1) of §31.3401(a)–3, made after December 31, 1970. An agreement may be entered into under

this section only with respect to amounts which are includible in the gross income of the

employee under section 61, and must be applicable to all such amounts paid by the employer to

the employee. The amount to be withheld pursuant to an agreement under section 3402(p) shall

be determined under the rules contained in section 3402 and the regulations thereunder. See

§31.3405(c)–1, Q&A–3 concerning agreements to have more than 20-percent Federal income tax

withheld from eligible rollover distributions within the meaning of section 402.

      (b) Form and duration of agreement. (1)(i) Except as provided in subdivision (ii) of this

subparagraph, an employee who desires to enter into an agreement under section 3402(p) shall

furnish his employer with Form W–4 (withholding exemption certificate) executed in accordance

with the provisions of section 3402(f) and the regulations thereunder. The furnishing of such

Form W–4 shall constitute a request for withholding.

(ii) In the case of an employee who desires to enter into an agreement under section 3402(p)

with his employer, if the employee performs services (in addition to those to be the subject

of the agreement) the remuneration for which is subject to mandatory income tax withholding by

such employer, or if the employee wishes to specify that the agreement terminate on a specific

date, the employee shall furnish the employer with a request for withholding which shall be

signed by the employee, and shall contain—

( a ) The name, address, and social security number of the employee making the request,

( b ) The name and address of the employer,

( c ) A statement that the employee desires withholding of Federal income tax, and applicable,

of qualified State individual income tax (see paragraph (d)(3)(i) of §301.6361–1 of this

chapter (Regulations on Procedures and Administration)), and

( d ) If the employee desires that the agreement terminate on a specific date, the date of

      termination of the agreement.

If accepted by the employer as provided in subdivision (iii) of this subparagraph, the request

shall be attached to, and constitute part of, the employee’s Form W–4. An employee who

furnishes his employer a request for withholding under this subdivision shall also furnish

such employer with Form W–4 if such employee does not already have a Form W–4 in effect with

      such employer.

(iii) No request for withholding under section 3402(p) shall be effective as an agreement

between an employer and an employee until the employer accepts the request by commencing to

withhold from the amounts with respect to which the request was made.

      (2) An agreement under section 3402 (p) shall be effective for such period as the employer and

employee mutually agree upon. However, either the employer or the employee may terminate the

agreement prior to the end of such period by furnishing a signed written notice to the other.

Unless the employer and employee agree to an earlier termination date, the notice shall be

effective with respect to the first payment of an amount in respect of which the agreement is

in effect which is made on or after the first “status determination date” (January 1, May 1,

July 1, and October 1 of each year) that occurs at least 30 days after the date on which the

notice is furnished. If the employee executes a new Form W–4, the request upon which an

agreement under section 3402 (p) is based shall be attached to, and constitute a part of, such

      new Form W–4.

Glad to be useful…….information is more powerful than bullets,
but we live in a country where “people” pay $25 for some shmuck to complete an EZ 1040……so go figure. IRS will do it for free with the same result.

Thing that gets me is, employers can refuse your request for with holding…..and they use tax accountants and lawyers, all of whom
should be sued…. because anyone who actually engages in this fraud
is subject to criminal charges under 18 USC 241 and 242….the first is conspiracy, carries 10 years each count…..and the second, which
is my favorite, Deprivation of Rights under COLOR of Law. 1 year per count. An this reg. 26 CFR 3402(p) has already been upheld in
          the 9th circuit.

Best part about this, regardless of who you are dealing with..is
you are only asking questions…..which you already know the answers to……and when you lead these idiots to water….they have no
choice but to drink. ( all you do is wait…..)

There is one caveat here. You can only save yourself! and even though you can teach others…..they have to act alone….and that takes courage….but considering all those willing to take up arms (provided
they are not ALONE) you don’t have to die to win……

Bad analogy. See that line above. Do you actually think that the
government is a giant MONOLITHIC conspiracy? Most of them are as ignorant as all of you………Edmund Burke comes to mind here…….and most people are not inherently evil…….also most people when faced with the “truth” will do the right thing.

Of course, “abuse of power” does have a major ally…..”willfull
ignorance.” Your choice of course……but if you’re really all that terrified, then all the gun talk and resistance crap is bull shit.

And you are wasting your time here, because here you’re just “hot air”
venting with everyone else…..( you have been divided and
marginalized )……and that makes YOU part of the problem.

What I find interesting, and I’m as guilty as anyone else, is that we get into these discussions of how to fix the economy and fix the problems in America.
Most realize that we can’t really fix much until we force the corrupt, bought and paid for politicians out of the decision making process. Get foreign banks out of our pockets. Dump the Federal Reserve. Dump the UN. Dump the global government elitists selling themselves and the “rule of law” to the highest bidder.
A monumental task indeed but not impossible! It’s gonna take a lot of years to undo the not so subtle takeover of our government that’s transpired over the last century. A small step was taken in the midterms but it’s obvious it won’t be enough. Keep pressing, communicating, screaming and writing your representatives. Don’t give up…make your voices heard but more importantly make yourself be a part of the process to restore our Republic. Our forefathers paved the way, let’s not let them down.

Take a moment to reflect about something that should be so important and dear to anyone that considers themselves to be free and American.

“While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that’s free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. ”

      God Bless America,
      Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

      • JeffH

For those that are athiests, just chip in to the process of restoring America.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You are right Jeff, there is a whole lot of stuff we have to dump that is weighing us down and killing us. A whole lot of stuff. And being that a bunch of greedy lawyers whose god is money are running things, its going to be real hard to do. Its going to take, we the people to move against them one fine day I do believe.

      • DaveH

One big problem, Jeff. The youth are being propagandized in droves and without them we are lost. The only way we will achieve the numbers to soundly stop the Government Leviathan (peacefully of course) is to stop them first from dumbing down our youth.

        • JeffH

So true. Wasn’t that way when I was growing up in the 50′s & 60′s or at least It didn’t seem that way. Back then most families had the mother at home handling the kids while pop was out bringing home the bread. To me anyway, things really started to change when both parents started working in the late 60′s or early 70′s. I know my younger brother got away with much more than myself and two other brother ever thought of. He didn’t have to answer for what he did, got away with a lot more because the supervision wasn’t there. Paid a price for it down the road too, 3-1/2 years in Folsom for manufacturing crank in his kitchen. He wasn’t a thief or violent, but he was out of control and devious.

          • http://! Angel Wannabe

JeffH, Originally_ I think it was bred out of necessity. I think some of this two parent working came in WWII. Women went to work when the men went to war, and they did not leave the work place when the men returned home. When Men were killed in the war, and left women with children to raise alone. These widows HAD to work. I believe the unhappy women, saw the widows & children making it on they’re own. That caused those unhappy in they’re own marriages, to strike out on they’re own as well, and I think it snowballed/evolved from there.

          • DaveH

Don’t you find it odd, Angel, that the women’s lib movement started in earnest just about the same time that Big Government (1970s) was spending our country into poverty with their Keynesian experiment? I was married in the early 70s and one decent income was plenty to support our family. Then the Keynesian pump-priming started and in a few years (due to the resultant inflation) we both needed to work to have a decent living.
My theory is that the PTBs got together and promoted the women’s lib movement to make it a gender issue so that people wouldn’t think about the fact that Government was driving up prices by flooding the market with excess money. More evidence for that is the way that most of the Women’s Organizations turned their heads during Clinton’s follies. Whether they were purely political fronts for Progressivism from the beginning or not, they sure are now.

          • libertytrain

DaveH – about that same time the electric bill skyrocketed from $18 per month to over $80 as did natural gas bill for heat – prior I could raise my whole family on my $2.25 per hour pay check – I really wanted to stay home like my mom did. And I also had come to realize the lib movement was kind of a trap about 20-30 years ago. They made us work because it wasn’t the intelligent thing to do to stay home and be a fulltime mom – then we also needed to pay for daycare, and of course a second car and then we could buy more stuff, and then people needed bigger houses and more stuff – I think it was all bogus I just didn’t know why we were being led down that path.

          • kate8

DaveH – That’s exactly what happened. It’s right out the communist playbook for collapsing a nation.

I was married back in the early ’70s also, and I loved caring for my home and family. Then I remember the social engineering, subtle insinuation that being “just a housewife” was being a lower lifeform, and of little social value.

The pressure was great, and caused great anxiety that one should be doing more, joining the workforce. So I started going to school and seeking to be a more “valuable” person. One was supposed to strive to be a ‘super-mom’.

Of course, my kids suffered and so did my marriage. Looking back, I see it all so clearly now. I had everything I ever wanted, and threw it away in pursuit of…nothing.

I am thankful that my family is very close and loving. But my girls have grown up with the social issues resulting from that time of confusion about priorities, and it has had a profound impact on them.

This was all about dissolving the family structure, and it has done great damage to America.

          • http://! Angel Wannabe

Oh yeah Dave, Women’s Lib had everything to do with it and definitely pushed the burning your bra era along!_Absolutely, but I do believe it began in WWII.
Women who want to stay home, raise they’re families and care for they’re homes, are made to feel somehow a low-life, as compared to a professional woman in the workplace. I truley don’t care if folks think this next statement is old world or not, but_I remember My Grandmother saying, “The hand thats rocks the cradle rules the world”__well, all we need to do is look around, our society is filled the “New Age” results!?_

          • Karolyn

Angel, I don’t think you’re right. Women did not stay in the workplace when the men came home from the war. I only knew a couple of kids whose mothers worked in the 50s and 60s. My mother only worked out of necessity when my father was in a work-related accident and was hospitalized for a while.

          • Karolyn

Angel – “Women who want to stay home, raise they’re families and care for they’re homes, are made to feel somehow a low-life, as compared to a professional woman in the workplace.” I don’t thibnk this is true anymore. Women who choose to stay home have found their niche and are respected these days. A lot of women just like to work outside the home. I remember a woman I had employed back in the 80s who had two boys and had been doing day care. She was so happy to be able to go to work part time and interact with adults for a change. She used to make me laugh with her stories, telling me she couldn’t remember how to talk like an adult anymore! Everybody’s different, and thank goodness we can do whatever we want these days. If things hadn’t changed, there wouldn’t be a Sarah Palin, Hillary Clinton or any other female politicians.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Karolyn,
I grew up in the 50s in Michigan and I remember a lot of women working. My father worked with at least 15 or 20 women in a UAW shop in Adrian. My step mother worked at that time for senior brothers inc as a waitress and a hostess, My aunt owned a business in Adrian. there were all kinds of women working in the clothing stores and such.

          • Jana

I still think its still being pushed on us. When someone asks me what I do I tell them I am a full time homemaker. I study nutrition so I can feed my family wisely and keep them healthy. I study human nature so I can deal with my children, their friends and their teachers. I volunteer at school, which is not easy as there is a great lack of volunteers and you can be inundated with,”Could you please—–?”
I have had to learn when to say no as it could be a full time job in itself. Besides the cooking and house cleaning, and the laundry and buying the groceries I wonder how these mothers that work do it. My hat is off to them, but I feel for the children who suffer because of it. The children need someone to be home for them, who is on their side. They get out and have to fight the world so to speak and they need someone willing to be there for them.
I may have to go back to work ( I have worked in short bursts to help keep us afloat, but it wasn’t worth the stress on the family), but I figure I am a smart lady, and I have time to relearn and retrain when my children are old enough to go forward. I am investing in my children right now.

        • Jana

          DaveH,
It’s called lack of parenting. Parents need to teach their children the truth or the world will teach them lies.

          • DaveH

            Jana,
We often hear the advice that a couple should take their arguments away from the children, but I have not heard any explanations for why that is a good idea. Here’s my theory. Children tend to blindly worship their parents until the first time they see them arguing. They can’t both be right. The kids know that, so they lose faith in their parents’ knowledge after those events. How many of us are guilty of that mistake? I know I was.
So the next people they turn to with their blind faith are their teachers. And they will continue worshipping those teachers until they catch them in an obvious error. That gives teachers tremendous influence over the minds of our children. Kids tend to believe that their teachers are much smarter than their parents. It’s tough to overcome that perception.

          • herman richardson

Parenting??? That stopped with the generations lost, children have been taught that government good mom and disciple bad
When the children tell their parents “I’ll tell the government” where will it end?? If mine had ever said anything now or then with reference to calling the big boys, they would be living with the big boys.

          • Jana

            DaveH,
I would like to tell you why I disagree about your theory. When my husband and I fight, and thankfully it is not often, we both realize we are still parents. We sit down and talk to our kids. This is a good teaching time on how to fight fair. If you fight to win at all costs, then you are the biggest loser. We sit down and talk about how to fight fair and that we both know that neither one of us would ever do something to hurt the others feelings or make them mad on purpose. Then when the kids fight with each other we see that in action. We talk and talk to our children. We also listen to our children. That is called communication. It goes both ways. It also takes time to talk and listen. It doesn’t just happen in a few minutes. Some days its a couple of hours. Some days its a 20 minute discussion.
We also turn off the TV and have family time every single day. It is a planned 15 minutes, but many times goes into an hour. VALUABLE AND PRECIOUS.
I also have a wonderful husband who is all man, very strong, and a hard worker but is willing to step up to the plate and is a great daddy.
Even when its time to go outside to work, he works with them, he doesn’t just send them outside by themselves to work in the yard. They do projects together.
We are definitely not a perfect family. We have our problems, but we all work on our problems together. During family time the kids are encouraged to tell us what they think about discipline, problems at school, or problems with us or anyone else. we also share some of our problems with them and get their input. It shows them we value their opinions, and lets them know adults have problems too.

          • DaveH

Sounds like you’re lucky to have each other, Jana. Your kids are lucky too.

          • Jana

            Thank you Dave.
It isn’t always easy but we both work at it. I look around at other women my age and see what they are looking for—exactly what I have. A good husband that cares, is not lazy, works hard and loves his family and is willing to put up with ME. We have found if we both give 100% we can never out do each other. When I am in a bad mood he makes up for it, when he is in a bad mood I make up for it. It evens out in the end and provides examples for our children, and security as well.

President Obama is a radical disciple of Saul Alinsky, the self proclaimed rebel, who was a major player in the riots and civil unrest of the 1960′s. He preached “any means justifies the end” his goal was revolution. Our president promised to fundamentally transforn the United States of America. By and large he has done a good bit of that and shows no signs of changing his dictatorial methods. His recent faux move to the center is just more deception on his part. He is expert at masking his true intentions, but the man has no scruples or integrity and his words are just words crafted to gain one’s confidence. The goal is revolution through destruction of the government fron within.

Economy is getting better, Health Reform is now approved by the majority of Americans and regulations of Wall St. seem needed more than ever! Why Tea Party takes these opposite views and state philosophy and policy that we already had for 8 yrs and failed…is beyond most thinking people?? Attack what needs attacking…there is plenty of corruption and waste in Washington…and we could all agree and get something done.
This childishness is not impressive…. it’s disgusting!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Im not sure where your getting your approval ratings from, but dont you believe them for one minute. I will guarantee you, that the Tea Party rates much, much higher, I would guess double, over any approval of Obama. And Sarah Palin is much higher also. Your figures are askew, because the liberal media is scared to death of Sarah Palin and the Tea Party, because, you see nick baby, they are directly responsible for just kicking over 60 liberals out of office, and leading America in the right direction. And your right, the economy is going to pick up, because business now sees the direction changing, and they know Obama is handcuffed from ramming any more stuff down their throats, and they know him and his tax monsters are out of power in 2012, so it will slowly pick up, and when it is like 6 months from the election, it will take off good, because all will know he is leaving for sure, and business will start to invest. That is the only reason the economy went bad, because all the business world knew Bush couldnt run again, and that Cheney was too old, and McCain wasnt going to get elected, so they tightened up the belt. Thats how it is pal, and you and your left wing liberals can produce all the lying polls you want, but all your doing is fooling yourselves, because those numbers are just not true. Not even close. This election in 2012, Im thinking is going to be the most lopsided Republican victory ever won, because your liberal democrats have pissed off America and shown their true colors of not caring what people want and shoving things down their throats, as evidenced by their backroom passage of their illegal health care package, that almost 70 percent of us dont want. Now they are going home, and like I said, your polls mean nothing. They are worthless.

I have a novel idea. I just read two days ago, about all these millions of dollars we give Yemen. Yemen? The hotbed of terrorism. The lawless country that these modern day pirates hole up in to do their dirty deeds. The most impoverished muslim nation in the world. Gee, dont some muslim nations, like say Saudi Arabia, Iran, even the rebuilt Iraq, Kuwait, and many others have billions upon billions of oil dollars, that just maybe they could help their own out with? And I know we are funnelling money all over the world, to a lot of places like this, that would actually love to do us in, and then we give them billions. We have got to stop being the nice guy and giving away all we have, especially while we are in debt. Stop the madness, stop the foreign aid. Stop propping up the terrorist nations that run the UN, and live high off the hog in our country. Kick them out, close down that huge building that costs us billions, sell it off, oh, and by the way, make all those foreigners in the UN pay off their parking tickets and such on their way out. We could balance the budget so easy if we would just institute a tad little bit of common sense. Like maybe, stop giving it away to nations that want us dead. Hey, just a thought. Im just saying…………….

    • CHWills

While the Obama administration advocates cutting Social Security benefits to our senior citizens, Obama is giving our money away to his home country and other foreigners – an act that is unconscionable. An article in the Los Angeles Times June 10, 2010 states, “Obama pledges $400 million to the Palestinians.”

Moreover, the Obama administration spent about 23 million dollars supporting his countries, (Kenya’s), new constitution, (that supports abortion), although that support violated the Siljander amendment. And, Joe Biden also offered incentives to Kenya to pass the constitution on behalf of the Obama administration in direct violation of the Siljander amendment.

On top of that, the Obama administration peeled off another 150 million to the Palestinians, and I quote, “The U.S. will contribute an additional 150 million this year to the Palestinian Authority”, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced in a video conference with Salam Fayyad, the Palestinian prime minister. “The overall American investment to the Palestinians this year totals nearly 600 million”, Clinton said.

It’s time to rein the Obama administration in and stop their waste of taxpayer money.

      • Bruce D.

It does take a lot of nerve to talk about cutting social security when Obama is giving money away like it is water. Get rid of the fraud and waste in government before you even start talking about social security. Obama is just pissing most of the money away and lefties will say there is just no way you can survive without adding to the debt. Obama debt is now projected to be at 22 trillion by the year 2015. What will the interest on the debt be then and Kenetic1 wants to spend billions for a bullet train that will hardly be used and cost the taxpayers millions to subsidized the operating cost. I don’t get it.

    • wayne

Beberoni, our country is broke, and we are giving billions of dollars to several of these countries. I just heard on the news this morning that we gave Egypt $6,000,000,000 last year. This is where the riots are going on now. Do you suppose they want more of our money is the reason for the riots? We also give Israel billions of dollars per year. The social security recipients has not has a raise in 2 years now, but they can give the other countries all this money. It’s a damn sin for the government to take our money, and give it away and let our seniors, who have paid in to this fund for 30 to 40 years, do without.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I know what your saying Wayne. If we took all the money they waste giving it away, and sadly, most of it is to countries that march on our capital and protest America and demonize us and want us dead, and our so called fearless leaders, are so darn stupid they think they can make them like us by giving them money. Stupid, stupid, stupid. They just laugh at our ineptitude when we do this, and demand more, and these dumb arse’s in power give it to them. And the UN is the biggest vacuum of our money that there is, because they suck billions out, plus direct billions more to these terrorist countries of their choice, and somehow our dumbass politicians say “duh, ok”, and give it away. Its bull, and that is another reason why I say these entrenched politicians need to go, on both sides. That is why I am voting Dick Lugar in Indiana out this year. Its time for all these career guys to go, because all they seem to want to do, is help themselves. Look what they have done? I give them an F. And I grade with red ink and I hope they are offended and feel bad about it, because they should, because they have failed.

    • JKO

Beberoni I agree. Beck laid out a similar plan. His idea was to get our military out of all nations (except Afghanistan) and let them defend their own butts. He suggested that conress people and the President make what the average is in this country – I believe it was $77K, work only two terms and not get paid after they leave office – oh, and they get the same health benefits as the rest of us. He did suggest that the military also make an average salary as well. He also said we stop sending aid to counties that don’t need it – like Egypt mentioned in one of the posts.

I personally would continue to send aide to Israel because they are the only nation in that area that support America at all. This is not true of others in the area.

      • DaveH

        Why except Afghanistan?

Once again i don’t understand why we need to to raise our debt ceiling. We just loaned hundreds of millions to countries in South America, so they can drill for oil. i got an email news letter from newmax that the supervisers in la county california said they had paid close to 600 million dollars to illegals in that county alone in welfare in 11 months what a great country we have ,and people what to know why we are BROKE

        • kate8

marvin – It really frosts me that ol’ Moonbeam is making all kinds of cuts to citizens, including war vets and others who truly need help, and yet refuses to touch programs for illegal aliens. Stopping the funds to illegals alone would make a big difference.

It seems our illegal population in CA is really gaining control, just like they said they would. The vets with PTSD can’t stand up and fight for programs. It’s never a matter of who is most deserving. It’s always a matter of which group gives the biggest payoff for being pandered to.

          • Cawmun Cents

Never help an American when a foreigner is in need, the progressive agenda.

          • DaveH

            Vote buying, plain and simple.

          • JeffH

The Unions spent big bucks in California to beat back Brown and Bocer’s competition as well as several more senate and congressional candidates in the central valley. Heck, they spent millions around the country in support of the socialists.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Vote buying, just like Dave said. Just like the billions, that the democrats gave GM and Chrysler, to buy future UAW votes. And yet Clinton shipped millions of their union jobs to Mexico, and they still dont get it, and vote for these guys, because they believe them when they tell them the lie that they are the working mans friend. Shoot, let those unions stop funneling billions of dollars into the democratic coffers, and see how much of a working mans friend they are.

        • LeRoy Z.

Marvin, I recently received an e-mail detailing what illegals cost this country each year. It was broken down into several categories and it all added up to 338 billion [that's BILLION] dollars per year. I would love to get it posted to this site so everyone could see it, it was truly mind-boggling!!!

        • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Yes, and they are bankrupt and broke, and sucking mass amounts of money from other states now, and idiots like Nancy Pelosi make absurd statements like “We need to do more to help these people”. Are you kidding me. And Barbara Boxer is the same way, and yet the people of California re-elect them time and time again. Now there are two dynamics in place here. One, either you Californians are really, really stupid, or two, they have the voting fixed out there and you cant get rid of them. One or the other.

          • JeffH

Beberoi, believe me when I say the idiots are the majority in California.

          • DaveH

That’s why I broke out of California 16 years ago.

          • nickwolf

There is a third possibility. California creates more new industries than all the other states except Mass. (MIT) and you think its because they are stupid?….right!
The property values are so high in CA.,that, the housing crisis took a hugh chunk of State Revenues….this was caused by deregulation of Wall St…..it was not caused by Californians! It was caused by reckless, ill advised, paid off , crony capitalist …Republicans….who for 8 yrs striped America of all defences against robber Barons! Thats what happened. Cutting all welfare would only take out 1% of GDP…and that includes orphans and mentally ill! But don’t touch the richest 1% who caused this mess and stole all the money….no you wouldn’t want to touch their pile of stolen loot! They bundled the mortgages and sold them to overseas investors. They made money on it…then they made more servicing the debts….all while taking no risk at all !! Sweet deal huh? And you just gave them another Trillion dollar tax break? Some people refuse to turn around and see who’s hitting them in the head….and then they get hit again! Good luck silly rabbits!

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Hey Nick, wake up man. Its not the 60′s. California’s days of creating new industry were 40 years ago. Most the successful business are leaving. The tax burden is huge on them, and many have had enough. You know, the so called rich that you demonize. Its called being successful, and how dare you want to punish success. That is where this country has gotten off the rails. It seeks now to punish the successful, and reward the failures, and that is ass backwards. Youve got a huge illegal immigrant problem there, caused by liberal left wing politicians who look the other way in their act of political correctness to win hispanic votes. Now it is epidemic, your state is broke, and sucking money out of the other states like a black hole. And you people elect idiots like Nancy Pelosi, who says “we need to do more to help these people”, referring to these same illegal aliens that have decimated the economy of California. Too much tune in , turn on, and drop out have messed up your state. And your statements are full of hipocracy. First you state how wonderful it is to spawn all these new business, then you demonize those that are successful. What is it with you? We all know, that its like living in a bowl of granola out there, what aint fruits and nuts, is flakes.

Well I’m 71 but I’d like to correct you on the fact we DON’T loan our money to anyone foreign country; it is given. This world OWES these United States soooooo much money even Geithner couldn’t print that much. How much does France,Germany and England owe us from WWII? Japan? Just why does the US have to kiss ass all over this world? Why does our motto have to be “if it looks good” we’re happy. We are the worlds laughing stock. We need to get the United Nations OUT OF AMERICA, period. What in hell is wrong with people in Washington DC? Why can’t we throw the “assmedia” out of the freedom of speech rights; they can’t or most likely won’t tell the whole truth anyway on any story. Hollywood? Why do we believe those people who live “PRETEND LIVES” AND GET RICH FROM IT. Why do, otherwise, sane people OVERspend millions of dollars to support these jokesters?

that’s pretty darn hard to do when packaging doesn’t always say where it’s made and, even if put together in u.s.a., we don’t know where the seperate parts were made. i looked at hershey’s candy a couple of weeks ago. says made in pennsylvania, but we all know it was made in mexico – the cmpany is based in pennsylvania. why do our leaders not make it mandatory to put that info on packagaing?

How many times do I have to say this? The illegals are just a distraction (like that presented by a Magician to divert your attention away). Granted they shouldn’t be allowed to enter our country illegally, but our problems are the result of Big Government bleeding our physical and financial resources dry with their wasteful spending.
Government spends 40% of our GDP. How can any country prosper when that kind of money is being spent by Government? Government does create wealth, they consume it.
We will continue down the pathway to poverty until the vast majority of the people wake up and realize Big Government is the Problem, Not the Solution.

          • DaveH

            Mistype.

Yeah…I think we all get that part DaveH,hence the blog….But common sense dictates that sooner or later we have to have solid solutions and quit pussy-footing around. My not so realistic solution is at least an attempt to speak of how.It was obviously a pathetic attempt…but at least it was an attempt, rather than stating the oblivious…(word intentionally spelted that way).Lets start shotgunning the issues and come up with real solvence to the conditions, not tirading about what everyone already knows…

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You are so correct Dave. The most damning things being done to this country come from our very politicians that are running it. It comes from judges and and lawyers and politicians, who screw this country, who screw righteousness and justice at every turn, in order to line their own pockets with cold hard cash. Imagine what guys like Washington and Jefferson would think, when our own president, pays for and provides lawyers to terrorists caught trying to kill us, and jails our own soldiers fighting to keep us free. Can you imagine? Our own worst enemy is from within, and they are running this country right now, and there are actually people who agree with them. That is a scary thought.

      • CHWills

The idiots we have in D.C. started destroying our industry and our independence years ago. Their aim is a one world government. Many people have no idea what’s going on, and many of them refuse to see it.
If you destroy a countries ability to manufacture it’s own products, you also destroy it’s independence. Are they idiots? Some of them are, but the majority of them know exactly what they are doing. It’s always easier to say, “I told you so”, than it is to make people see the truth beforehand.

        • Cawmun Cents

David, being cute here, but I can prove that 2+2=7. It’s easy with a little knowledge of math you can “prove” anything. Of course I have to cheat to do it. Most people don’t know enough math to see the trick.

If you understand math, what I do is set up a problem with variables and then divide by the variable. This actually turns out to be dividing by 0 which you cannot do. I did it to my Philosophy professor when I was 19 and blew him away. Of course I was being a smart a– but he did think it was cool once I explained what I had done.

  • TOCB

Ok, Chip, If we have raised the debt ceiling 80 times previously, why is Obama so much more of a threat to the national debt than previous presidents? And since I am a numbers person, if we receive ten times more in tax revenue than the $1.3 billion a day in interest on the debt, why do we have a deficit at all? You see, $1.3 billion time 365 comes to $475b. Ten times that amount is $4.745t. With a $4.3t budget, we should have a slight surplus. I guess your numbers are a tad off. But I get your point, I think. We spend way too much. I don’t know why the government has to borrow money in the first place. Don’t we just print more money when we need it? How did we pay for TARP? Who had $850b lying around they weren’t using? And if interest on the debt is an obligation, why isn’t the debt itself an obligation?

    • home boy

if you want to fundamentally change this country you first put it into unsastainable debt. that’s his idea. what don’t you understand about that? he knows what he is doing is wrong and he does not care. didn’t you listen to his speeches when he was running for president. common sense has left the building. he wants the country to implode so he can remake it his way. your biggest problem is that there is nothing you can do about it. and the congress is no longer in his way because all he has to do is make regulations everywhere so bad people will give up. you forget he has executive power to use.

      • obed

        homeboy.
the executive branch of govt do not make regulations. congress does. now, they may make suggestions to congress to consider or even plant ideas but whatever comes out as a result is congresses doing not the chief executive (president) Obama cannot ruin the nation by making tough regulations. it was your elected representative who thought maybe the presidents ideas on regulations were good so they made it into laws. please learn a thing or two about govt before you begin to make dumb comments

          • Sam

Bubba Clinton balanced the budget by taking (stealing) money from Social Security just as LBJ had done to pay for Viet Nam war.

  • Margie

I’m a little confused! Why is Obama being blame for trying to correct mistakes made by prior administration? This country was going downhill BEFORE Obama took office. I believe Obama has done a good job, so far, considering all of the oppositions he has to face, and it seems only to be based on his RACE. Come on now, give credit where it is due. Obama seems to be for the people, not the people who put us Americans in this position in the first place. Place blame where it really should be.

    • Jean

Isn’t that wonderful – YOU are the problem – if nothing suits you – act like YOUR president – bring out the race card. YOU and the BUM should dine together on Chinese lobster.

      • Jana

        Margie,
I didn’t agree with a lot of Clinton’s policies. As I recall, he is white. Nope, no racism there. Neither did I agree with all of Bush’s policies, and he is also white. Nope, no racism there. I don’t agree with most of Obama’s policies, and just because he is black doesn’t make that racism or mean that I don’t like him because he is black.
I DON’T AGREE WITH HIS POLICIES. Now unless you don’t comprehend English, this cannot be said any clearer. He is an EXTREME Leftist and I am a Conservative. BIG HUMONGOUS difference.
Margie you said he has done a good job based on the oppositions he has faced. What oppositions. He had his fellow Democrats in office ready and willing to do all of his bidding. He got a lot of his disgusting bills passed without any trouble in Congress. The problems he faced was from the people he was dictating too, and that is WE THE PEOPLE. Again we don’t believe in his philosophies of Socialism and Communism, which he so proudly has espoused. We don’t want that for our country.

        • Cawmun Cents

How many more times do I have to tell you people that he is neither black nor white….he is grey.Makes it easier to see why there is such a grey area in policy now days doesnt it?

          • bob wire

And so, I’m left to think gray in politics is somehow something not introduced until 2009?

I don’t think so. The saying, “Beware of Greeks bearing Gifts” has been around a long time.

or “Remember the Maine” had a nice touch to it for a Pro Pan-American view.

We’ve been walking a gray line since the first recording of history. It’s all to do with understanding which side your toast in buttered on and little else.

          • Cawmun Cents

All of that may be true Mr. wire, however no Grey man has held the position of power that the current grey man is holding right now.Not in all of history has a grey man ever held such a high position. He is not black he is grey, and was raised by white folk. They put him through college, they made the environment by which he came to this position. His own father was incapable of such a feat of endeavor. That is why he is the grey man.Torn between the allegiance he carries for his father, and the knowledge of his white upbringing. That is precisely why he is grey….cant you see that?

          • Jana

            Cawmun Cents,
Actually in his own words he stated that he hated the white part in him, and he would cleave to the black part in himself. I think his own statement tells the story.

          • Jana

            Cawmun Cents,
I would like to reiterate however that it is not Obama’s color, whether black or white. It is his radical leftist policies that we do not agree with. It is his radical ideologies that we find fault with. It is who he surrounds himself with that cause us to be gravely concerned as many of these people are in the Anti America groups as in they hate America and what she stands for. The hope and change that Obama ran on wasn’t for most of “we the people”, it was for these radicals that think America is too great and doesn’t deserve it. These are the ones who want to tear us down and put us in what they think is our place.
The main reason we have always been a great nation is because we have honored God in our nation. God has had His hand of protection over our country.
Recently we have seen where we are starting to have major problems in our country. Ever wonder why? It is because those of us who knew better have set back and allowed God to be barred from our schools, barred from our courtrooms, and they are even barring God from Christmas, and Jesus is the reason for the season. Since we have barred God from our country, God is removing His hand of protection over us.
Finally those of us who do believe in God are waking up and making a stand. It is NOT too late.

        • http://?? Joe H.

          margie,
You gonna answer Jana??? Or can’t you do it??

        • obed

there is no true capitalist nation in the world anymore. so to speak. america has never been a true capitalist nation. there has always been elements of govt control and govt intervention and its always been done to safe guard our life style and way of living. as far as i am aware, individuals in this nation still get to own resources and pursue choices that they feel will enrich their lives. thats the economic principle. now, here is my throw back to you, show me one thing that current administration has done that can be remotely misconstrued as communism or socialism even and i will be back to prove you wrong in the economic sense of the word

          • Jana

            obed.
The very FACT that Obama himself has stated that he has always been drawn to the ideologies of Communism, Marxism, and Socialism is proof. The very FACT that he has acted upon those ideologies by appointing Czars that are Marxists, Communists and Socialists, all self avowed by the way, is the second bit of proof. He surrounds himself with friends and advisers that have serious agendas against the United States.
It all starts with those in power. These people are in authority over us and have never ever even been voted for. This is a major start, and a major source of great concern.

          • Cawmun Cents

well I would start with socializing medicine, but would go so far as to say that the graft of Jeff Immelt not surrendering his position at GE would be a clear indicator that something is wrong here….

    • Ret

There’s plenty of blame to go around for many years. However, he has not tried to remedy the situation. when he had full democratic backing in both houses, he should have gone after the bankers, he should have gotten input regarding the health care bill from people who know, not his cronies, he should go after the FDA, big pharma and Monsanto. He does not. A few million dollars in fines for big pharma’s fraud and bilking the government out of billions of dollars via Medicare and Medicaid is a drop in their bucket. Go after the CEOs, fine them, throw them in jail. Get serious, and then he can make a difference. He needs to put his money where he put his mouth on the campaign trail. Please get over the race crap. He was elected, white people voted for him as well. Bush was no better, Clinton was no better, the first Bush was no better. On and on.

      • home boy

just goes to show you man cannot rule himself without any disstruction. its about greed not color.

    • s c

Margie, do you believe everything pollsters tell you? Are you so dependent on others that you can’t look at life in America and see what’s really happening? Do you really believe that Obama is any kind of a SAVIOR?
Marge, please get both of your feet into the real world. IF Obama is correcting something GB did wrong [IF, that is] , then WHY, WHY, WHY is America still deep in debt and getting into an even DEEPER hole?
Margie, do I need to remind you that your SAVIOR said he’d get us out of countries like Iraq and Afghanistan? Hint: we’re still there. Do you know what a liar is and what liars do? Margie, part of the problem is the woman who looks into a mirror and sees someone who who knows how to fool herself.
Margie, until you can see what you need to see, you’ll NEVER understand who’s who or what’s what. You can’t call yourself an adult if you think like a child.

      • eddie47d

Silly SC: G. Bush said we would never do any nation building.Hint; That was in his first SOTU speech. He got us into two unnecessary wars so just maybe he is the liar. Since you can’t tell the truth then maybe you are the one who only sees what they want to see. I was against the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars and hope they come to a conclusion real soon. That’s not the reality of the situation right now so what I feel on these wars seems to be irrelevant. Some say we should never gotten ourselves into all this debt. Yet it happened just like those wars so let’s deal with it. Your remarks were rather condescending but then again they all are. What is with this Savior(Messiah)smack? I believe you are the one acting like a child.

        • Bruce D.

Well Eddie Obama is in control now and could have ended both wars two years ago.

          • eddie47d

Then you would have said “he cut and Ran”. We know that game you play so it’s nothing but double talk.

          • JeffH

A totally lame comment by eddie. The only one “double talking” here is eddie.

          • Bruce D.

Yes I would have said he cut and ran Eddie but what I said is completely factual. Obama is carrying on the same policies George Bush did and you completely ignore that fact. You are the one with the double talk.

          • bob wire

“Well Eddie Obama is in control now and could have ended both wars two years ago.”

well, it’d be nice if he could and I know many of us and “O” wants us out!

It took 5 years to get out of Nam, just one theater. I don’t believe you are being very realistic Bruce but I do plan to hold “O” to his promise and will be greatly disappointed in him if he fails.

It’s my hope that voices such as yours and mine continue to offer the pressure.

        • http://?? Joe H.

          eddie,
don’t forget even ms.clintoon and almost all the other progressives voted for said wars as well!!! Don’t feed me the fooled excuse either, they are PAID and ELECTED to KNOW the difference!!!

          • eddie47d

Ms Clinton voted for the war? When was that? I have little respect for any of those fools who get us into wars. So what’s you point sloppy Joe?

          • JeffH

JoeH, did eddie just call you “sloppy Joe”? Imagine that.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            JeffH,
If eddie says I’m sloppy Joe, I guess he’s telling the truth!! I hit a few wrong buttons, say the wrong name and poof! I’m sloppy Joe!!! Course I’d rather be Sloppy Joe than Ignorant eddie!!!

        • Rod the Other

EDDIE…I get so sick of you lefties with your moral equivocating and always trying to turn the conversation by pointing fingers at the other side. Stop deflecting and answer the question…what has Obama done to secure life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for ALL Americans?
The wars have no bearing on IRRESPONSIBLE domestic spending! We can go all day long about the necessity or lack there of regarding the wars. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE LEFT AND THE BELIEF IN KEYNESSAIN ECONOMICS, WHICH IS WHAT OBAMA IS USING TO ACCOMPLISH THE DREAM OF HIS FATHER…NAMELY DESTRUCTION OF THE WESTERN ECONOMY!!!!
YOUR BOY SPOKE GLOWINGLY ABOUT WHAT COMMUNIST COUNTRIES ARE DOING TO STRENGTHEN AND GROW THEIR COUNTRIES, AND HINTED AT HOW WE NEED TO BE MORE LIKE THEM! YOUR BOY HAS GROWN DEBT AND DEFICIT AT A RATE THAT IS UNMATCHED IN HISTORY…AND YOU WANT TO POINT TO BUSH?!

As I recall OBAMA campaigned for office and sought this job. He made statements that he could fix it, and get us out of a bad economic reality. ALL HE HAS DONE IS RUN-UP ASTRONOMICAL DEBT & DEFEFICT AND WE ARE NO BETTER FOR IT. THE HOUSING MARKET IS ABOUT TO FALL AGAIN, FOOD PRICES ARE ON THE RISE, OIL IS ON THE RISE, UNEMPLOYMENT IS ON THE RISE AND THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IS MORE DIVIDED THAN IT HAS EVER BEEN.

I have read a number of your posts for some time and have firmly come to the conclusion that you are either very ignorant or believe that REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH means that your life will be improved by it and you don’t care who it’s stole from or who it hurts!

          • Karolyn

All you can see is gloom and doom. Why not take the blinders off and see some of the good things in this country? You and your buddies are doing nothing but perpetuating what bad things do exist. It’s called the law of attraction.

          • JeffH

Karolyn, not much different than you wearing your “rose” colored glasses. At least Rod is dealing in reality and not in rainbows and Unicorns.

          • eddie47d

Rod; The wars have plenty to do with the economy and in turn determines what we can do domestically. Can’t fix much if our money is pouring outside the country and nothing coming back. You made plenty of flippant remarks about the (boy) in the White House. If you haven’t noticed China is outpacing us in production and as of this year even in cars.So we better be paying attention to what these Communist countries are doing and start learning something. Maybe you are the one who needs to pull your head out of the sand. Start concerning yourself with those Corporates who plundered America and left us high and dry. Concern yourself with how they hurt the public and our economy. Whether you like it or not a big chunk of our troubles started under the Bush Administration so get over yourself and make it all work!!

          • Karolyn

But, Jeff, it is NOT ALL BAD! If I looked at my life the way you look at the condition of this country, I would have been in a loony bin a long time ago. I didn’t, I capitalized on the good in my life and minimized the bad; and I’m still kickin’ and doing better every day!

          • kate8

Karolyn – Keep your place in Lala land. We need people with courage who can stand up and hold strong when the going gets really rough, not people who fall apart and head for the loony bin.

You are best off right where you are, for all our sakes.

          • JeffH

Karolyn, whatever! I can face the truth and carry on a normal life, sleep at night and so on. I don’t have to fool myself just to make it through the day.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            eddie,
I will agree that a lot of our money problems are caused by the two wars. But I also say that since Nobama had a super majority and didn’t get out of the wars, then he is just as responsible for the out-go as Bush!! Since you won’t acknoledge that, I guess that makes you “ignorant eddie”!!!

      • obed

simple analogy. i can bring down a house that took me 3-6 months to build in a matter of minutes. but if i have to rebuild that house, it will take me longer than the 6 months it took me to build because now not only do i have to worry about cleanup, i have to worry about building it right bearing in mind to fix all that was wrong with it the first time. if GB as you call him took 8 years to get us here, how do you expect the Obama to get it done in 2yrs? granted, there were a lot more pressing things to consider first like the foundation( jobs) but he spent more of the resources designing the roof(healthcare). now, thats not the way you build a house but thats not to say that the roof design is bad. JUST NOT IN THE PROPER ORDER OF THINGS. when its all said and done, it will make sense.

        • Rod the Other

OBED…What is it with you guys and GB?
Obama is in the office, not Bush.
This economic melt down was due to lefty entitlement programs like CRA (Community Reinvestemt Act) and it began with Carter, furthered with Clinton. Like many of the left programs, they are ticking time-bombs and the longer they go uncorrected the bigger the explosion!

They way to fix the economy, at the GOV. level, is to put in place “PRO-GROWTH” policies. Policies that allow people to build better lives for themself. The Goverment itself cannot create jobs or wealth. It can ONLY create environments that are either conducive or destructive.

The reason Obama started where he did, is because that is what he believes. He doesn’t understand that people flurish when they are allowed to keep what they earn…you know, the free-market system (maybe you don’t). What Obama understands is that the reason people are fat is because they stole it from the skinny and that he better “head-up” a community organizing effort to file a law suit and take some of what the fat man has so he can give it to the skinny.

          • eddie47d

Rod; “People flourish when they are allowed to keep what they earned” Sounds so nice but not always true. Those fatmen you were talking about were the selfish, greedy Corporates who didn’t earn their money. They manipulated the ignorant and stole our country blind and right in front of our faces. When you start addressing THAT gang of thieves then I’ll listen. When they put those millions/billions to work for the USA then I might give them a heads up. Until then I’ll put the blame where the blame belongs.

    • Allen

I am not against President Obama because he is white. I do not believe that race causes anyone to be incompetent. I just want to know where all these wonderful things the white man said we would have are. I remember when he said that he was going to make sure that the world loved the United States of America. Well, Margie, based on what I see, NO ONE likes us now. And, as has been pointed out many times, the Buck has to stop somewhere. I say, stop it now.

Or, maybe, just maybe, since we want to be some other country, maybe we should choose Egypt today.

      • http://MSN.com Alice

President Obama is not a white man. His father was an African man from Kenya and Obama doesn’t look white. Obama is an attractive mulatto man because of his mother.

        • Cawmun Cents

Black and white make grey….which is why you remain confused about who the President really is.He is the grey man.It is not about black or white but the grey area of your mind that keeps you confused. You accept what he does because your entire life is a grey area.”There is no such thing as black and white”,you tell yourself and therefore you remain in a constant state of confusion. That is the essence of leftist liberalism.Turn the grey man into a sex-symbol in your mind so that you cannot believe he would bring damage to the nation through his tactics.

          • bob wire

You are kinda stuck on that thought aren’t you? I enjoy metaphors and use them often myself.

But I fail to see the present issues at hand in terms of any genetic coloring as you seem to.

It’s true, all cats are seen as gray in the dark, the effect of less data being received to process and filter. Inconclusive being an excellent word to use to describe such results.

Self-evident it is not, while it is an accepted truth, the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Intelligence doesn’t have a color, so why this attempt to color it?

Obama is a democrat, right. We had a democratic senate two years while Bush was in office. Congress, if they would do their jobs, have the power to over-ride the president. Obama, like some little kid, blames it all on Bush. If it weren’t for Bush it would be someone else. Apparently you’re like Obama. Did we hear Bush blaming Clinton. If Obama is for the people PLEASE REMIND HIM; he should be for the American people.

        • bob wire

And you offer proof the market has not yet been cornered by progressives.

    • CHWills

Okay, lets put the blame where it belongs.

In 1995, Bill Clinton’s HUD agreed to let Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac get affordable-housing credit for buying subprime securities that included loans to low-income unqualified borrowers.

Under the Clinton administration leadership, the agency neglected to examine whether borrowers could make the payments on the loans that Freddie and Fannie classified as affordable. Those decisions contributed to the escalation of unqualified – subprime lending that is still wreaking havoc on home values and the US economy.

Clinton and the Democrats played a much greater role in the Financial collapse that followed the housing bust.

In 1999, Congress enacted and Clinton signed into law the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, also known as the “Financial Services Modernization Act”. This law repealed the part of the Glass Steagall Act of 1933 that prohibited a bank from taking risks by offering a full range of investment, commercial banking, and insurance services.

The repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act effectively removed the separation that previously existed between Wall Street Investment banks and depository banks – and is the blame for exacerbating the damage caused by the collapse of the subprime mortgage market – which led to the financial crisis that started in 2007.

The potential to make enormous profits by trading mortgage-backed securities with artificially high ratings encouraged banks to take on intolerable risks in the form of bad housing loans. The lax qualifications to obtain a loan led to ease in getting a home loan by those who did not qualify, and that led to an artificial housing boom that was destined to collapse. None of this would have happened if the Glass-Steagall Act had not been repealed!

Yeah, lets give thanks to Clinton and the Democrats for everything they’ve done!

In addition to those great Democratic decisions, Clinton decided to remove all the trade barriers that supported our industry and kept us competitive in our own marketplace.

Clinton’s North American Free Trade Agreement removed all tariffs and trade barriers between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. The Clintons were claiming that it would increase demand for American made products, but not one politician took into account that peasants who work for pennies a day cannot afford to buy American made products.

Hillary ran around claiming that we would be able to buy big screen televisions for less than 100 dollars if NAFTA was passed, but in reality all NAFTA did was give Mexico unfair trade advantage and our industries no choice but to relocate to Mexico to stay in business. As a result, our jobs went to Mexico along with our industry, and nobody has a job to buy a big screen television.

But they weren’t through scraping America. The Democrats and Clinton also pushed the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, which did the same thing for China that NAFTA did for Mexico. It gave the Chinese an unfair trade advantage. As a result, the remainder of our jobs migrated to China where they have millions of peasants who cannot afford to buy anything made in America, but they can work for less than a hundred dollars a year.

Yes, let’s all say thanks to the politicians and the Clintons especially for the joblessness and the economic meltdown we are currently faced with. That’s giving credit where credit is due. I’ll address Obama in another reply.

      • http://yahoo richard

AH HA I KNEW IT IT’S BUSH’S FAULT!!!

      • eddie47d

NAFTA was a solidly Republican venture and was set up and ready to go under H.Bush. Most Democrats including Clinton rejected this bill and should have stuck to their guns in defeating it. The Bankers were the ones pushing for the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Law and had been trying for years. The first vote was 54-44 in the Senate and supported by Republicans. The bill was redone and then it passed 98-8. The Democrats knew these bills were bad but folded like a cheap suit. The Republicans were in control of these measures but that should have made the Democrats even more leery. Shame on both Parties.

        • Bruce D.

Clinton did not reject NAFTA. Clinton lobbied both Republican Doc Meyer and Democrat Alcee Hastings in the area I was living in Florida to get it passed. I was following it at that time because I was a supporter of Pat Buchanan who vehemently opposed NAFTA. Without Clinton it would never have gotten through.

          • eddie47d

Good for Pat Buchanan on that one but Clinton still didn’t want the measure and should have stood his ground.

          • Bruce D.

If he lobbied for it he wanted it Eddie. It was not just a matter of signing the legislation because of the numbers. He used his influence to get it passed.

        • Doug

You have to excuse Eddie no money because this poor boy did his learning from the books the communist education union and liberal change into their fiction stories about history starting in the late 70′S! Hey Eddie do you know what CFR 19 is or about duty rates? I will give you a little help back in the day China, N.Korea and other communist countries paid what is called column 2 duty rates which on average 4 to 5 times higher than MFN most favored nation rates. But your boy slick Willie push to bring them into GATT and give them MFN rates even though they don’t come close to following basic tentants of law governing this status. Oh Eddie by the way it’s nappy time!

eddie, “Most Democrats including Clinton rejected this bill and should have stuck to their guns in defeating it.”

Clinton rejected NAFTA? In your mind maybe, but not in Clinton’s mind. As a matter of fact you should read what Clinton thought about NAFTA, and it wasn’t anything negative or he felt needed to be rejected. Quite the opposite as you’ll read below.

THE WHITE HOUSE-Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release September 14, 1993

          REMARKS BY PRESIDENT CLINTON,
PRESIDENT BUSH, PRESIDENT CARTER, PRESIDENT FORD,
          AND VICE PRESIDENT GORE
IN SIGNING OF NAFTA SIDE AGREEMENTS

Gore: The person who is leading the fight and who has marshaled support in both parties is the person it is my pleasure to introduce now. The President of the United States, Bill Clinton. (Applause.)

Clinton: It’s an honor for me today to be joined by my
predecessor, President Bush, who took the major steps in negotiating
this North American Free Trade Agreement(NAFTA); President Jimmy Carter, whose vision of hemispherical development gives great energy to our efforts and has been a consistent theme of his for many, many years now; and President Ford who has argued as fiercely for expanded trade and for this agreement as any American citizen and whose counsel I continue to value.

Clinton: Today we turn to face the challenge of our own
hemisphere, our own country, our own economic fortunes. In a few
moments, I will sign three agreements that will complete our
negotiations with Mexico and Canada to create a North American Free
Trade Agreement(NAFTA). In the coming months I will submit this pack to Congress for approval. It will be a hard fight, and I expect to be
there with all of you every step of the way. (Applause.)

Clinton: We will make our case as hard and as well as we can.
And, though the fight will be difficult, I deeply believe we will win. And I’d like to tell you why. First of all, because NAFTA means jobs. American jobs, and good-paying American jobs. If I didn’t believe that, I wouldn’t support this agreement(NAFTA).

Clinton: I believe that NAFTA will create 200,000 American jobs in
the first two years of its effect.

Clinton: I believe that NAFTA will create a million jobs in the
first five years of its impact. And I believe that that is many more
jobs than will be lost, as inevitably some will be as always happens
when you open up the mix to a new range of competition.

Clinton: So when people say that this trade agreement(NAFTA) is just
about how to move jobs to Mexico so nobody can make a living, how do
they explain the fact that Mexicans keep buying more products made in
America every year? Go out and tell the American people that.

Clinton: Many Americans are still worried that this agreement(NAFTA) will move jobs south of the border because they’ve seen jobs move south of the border and because they know that there are still great
differences in the wage rates. There have been 19 serious economic
studies of NAFTA by liberals and conservatives alike; 18 of them have
concluded that there will be no job loss.

Clinton: I think it’s a matter of tremendous importance for NAFTA
to be approved so we can solidify 370 million people in all of Western society.

          • eddie47d

This issue was pushed hard by President Ford but failed under his watch. H. Bush took up the mantel and this NAFTA agreement was actually signed in 1986 by H. Bush,C. Salinas of Mexico and Prime Minister Mulroney of Canada. H. Bush tried to fast track the measure before a new President came into office but came up short because of Democrat opposition. B. Clinton was no fan of NAFTA and only agreed to get it ratified if he could put clauses in this agreement to protect American workers. Some of those clauses were entered into NAFTA and Then Clinton ratified it in 1994. Obviously Clinton was snookered by the Republicans who allowed Corporations to circumvent those clauses. Thus the American people got royally screwed by this Treaty. I certainly won’t dispute that Clinton made glowing statements in favor of NAFTA but that was after he got his clauses inserted. I think it’s fairly clear that you can’t trust many Corporations to play honestly but they are always looking for loopholes to get what they wanted to begin with.

          • JeffH

eddie, more doublespeak? Clinton never opposed NAFTA. Clinton was the President that signed NAFTA into law. He had the right to veto it and did not. Moreover, the ratification of NAFTA and its subsequent results fit within a larger foreign policy goal of the Clinton administration.

          • JeffH

eddie, how did your evil corporations get into the conversation?

How Clinton engineered the wipeout of the American middle class to pave the way for a low wage entitlement dependent nation that will accept totalitarianism.

NAFTA passed in both houses of Democratically controlled Congress in 1993. In the Senate, it passed with 61 yeas and 38 nays. In the House, it was much closer at 234 yeas to 200 nays. The Republicans in the House really came through for Clinton by providing 132 Yeas to counter 156 Democratic nays. Still, 40% of the Democrats in the House voted for NAFTA.

Other job killing Clinton initiatives, besides NAFTA and the U.S. joining the WTO, include Clinton praising the approval of China into the WTO with the statement “This landmark act will extend our economic prosperity at home while increasing the prospects for more openness in China”.

Again, Clinton lied and continued his ruthless manipulation of the American worker. There was no extension of economic prosperity in the U.S. resulting from America joining the WTO and approving the entry of China into the organization. In an Economic Policy Institute (EPI) analysis, the results of trade with China equated to staggering job losses in America.

Thank you CHWills for your very astute post. You are EXACTLY right. Actually under Carter the Democrats passed the Community Reinvestment Act requiring banks and other lending institutions to make home loans affordable to low-income applicants. It wasn’t until the Clinton administration, however, that this particular law was urgently enforced and the lending institutions were threatened with huge monetary penalties or legal entanglements if they didn’t comply. They were forced by the government to give loans to people who had absolutely no ability to pay them back. Even if the applicant had no phone number, no job, no money, the lending institutions were forced to make the loan. Liberalism on steroids. This was the spark that grew into a forest fire. Interestingly, it was the Bush administration that sounded the alarm. Also Alan Greenspan. There were hearings on the subject, with Barney Frank, Maxine Waters and other Democrats angrily protesting that Franklin Raines was brilliant and how dare you criticize him? The implication being, of course, that any such criticism was racist. They shouted down the witnesses and indignantly asserted that Fannie and Freddie were just fine. Nothing wrong there. Granted the Bush administration and Greenspan didn’t protest vociferously enough. But the current economic collapse is the fault of liberal/progressive policy. Period. So what is Obama’s solution to the problem? More of the same disastrous policy, which is why there is not only no recovery but a deeper and more dangerous pit.

You fall for eloquent speeches, facts that don’t add up and political nonsense. Why can’t you just think for yourself and look at what his policies (and the failed stimulus of the Bush era)have done to this Country.

The folks that are running the show knew we would come to a day where the general public were so dulled down and apathetic and without free thought, that we would be ripe for the picking. That day has obviously come. I guess Margie its okay to think he “seems to be good for the people.” Will you still be saying that when unemployment is 15%, we have domestic acts of terrorism and 49 out of 50 states to bankrupt under the weight of Obamacare? Just curious.

Margie, you’re a lot confused. You might try pulling your head out of the deep sand pit and seeing things as they really are. Ovomit has done nothing but speak pretty words to get elected and then proceed to break every one of the promises he made. He promised to rectify some of the traitorous decisions created by the previous regime and reneged on all of those.

Certainly, this country has been under attack since the War Between the States (and perhaps prior to that as well). Does that mean that he should continue to press the attack?

Race? Time to grow up and stop using that old excuse. Ovomit is neither black nor white or he is black and white. Does that bring the picture into focus NOW? If this creature was FOR the people, he would honor what they want and do not want. He would also honor his sacred oath of office and obey the Constitution, the supreme law of the land. He would also prove his citizenship or lack thereof by producing his long-form birth certificate instead of spending millions of the PEOPLE’s money to hide it.

He is taking over private companies, spending vast amounts of borrowed money to pay banks and Wall Street criminals, maintaining and initiating illegal wars that are killing our military and the people he and GWB are and were attacking……the list is endless. This country does not need a government like this and many before it. We can do much better on our own. This needs to stop and STOP NOW.

      • eddie47d

There were voters in the 2008 election who said they would never vote for a black man. That in it’s self is racist irregardless if you like Obama or not. Maybe Margie was pulling off of those comments. There are those who would never vote for an Hispanic or a Muslim for any reason and have used racial terms to stress their feelings. I’ve moved on over those issues back in the 60′s and am surprised at all the nit picking on both sides.

        • Bruce D.

Eddie I think people like you and Marge are ‘race baiters’ who would like to keep the idea of racism alive as a defense for a failed agenda and political pandering. ‘Race baiters’ like yourself are no better than race haters. I will also remind you that he is 1/2 white and it does not look like race has come up at all (until you brought it up) and I am of 3 ethnicities.

You know we really need to stop using this race thing.

I am a teacher (appearing white) on the Navajo Reservation. One day one of my students said I was racist against Native Americans. I asked him how that could be, did he think I was white. He said yes and I told him I was and was also Native American and African American.

We then got into a discussion. I asked if I had the constitutional right to be a racist. When all was said and done the conclusion was yes I do have the right to be a racist. If I am and you come to realize it YOU have the right to have me fired, or not use my services, etc.

As an American I have the right to be a racist. You have the right to call me on it and have nothing to do with me.

BTW I have no problem with anyone’s race, sexual orientation, religion, etc. I set standards for myself and my family and let each person set their own. Who or what you are is between you and God (and perhaps another consenting adult).

You are right. Obama did not make this mess. It has been going on for many years. Obama is basically correct in most things. Right wing Americans just do not see this because they are brainwashed by the big corporations that take their money and stay rich themselves. How come China is now overtaking the US and they are the most left wing country on earth. Americans have brainwashed by years of advertising on TV etc. The country is in a mess and the blame a guy who has barely had power for two years is ridiculous. Margie, you sound like a good Democrat, you have the talking points down pat. However, I regret to inform you that BHO is not a Democrat. He is a radical revolutionary who had to run as a democrat since we only have two parties. His goal is revolution by any means. An ardent disciple of Saul Alinsky who preached destruction of the government from within. Their tools are deceit, deception, and chaos. They mask their intent so that they may infiltrate the government, destroy the financial institutions, drown us in unpayable debt, and control everyone’s life through dictatorial decrees. Radicals have no scruples, compassion, or morals. They certainly are not Christians.

Maybe the policy of domination through the power of money has backfired on us and we might have been better off by force domination that was on the table in 1945 at the end of the WWII.Through out history , mankind has been in need of a beacon to emulate in order to progress. We are that beacon , however we have bought the collaboration instead of imposing and converting to our views . Today the world has grown both in size and economically under our leadership , but we are still in the process of buying our collaboration which is a greater burden than what it was in the past century. We are facing a political system now that in the past was kept at bay by the power of money , this is Islam. Through our innovation and knowhow these have become owners of the power we used on them ,money , but the philosophy of there system remained , it bent to our initial power and now it is becoming oue demise. Would is not have been better to dominate and change the system ????

SMSgt, what you’ve done is confuse a term’s meaning with an ever-changing, fickle, freedom-hating, political definition. To call the Founding Fathers progressives is to fall into a pc trap, SMSgt. Compare and contrast FDR’s “progressive” methods with the Founding Fathers, and you’ll get a completely different perspective.

      • eddie47d

Sorry, but the Founding Fathers were extremely Progressive in comparison to the draconian leadership of old Europe. They were truly enlightened and that was reflected in our Bill of Rights and the Constitution. So I would say the SGT. made an excellent point and it’s not only Conservatives who fight for Liberty.

        • Bruce D.

You are deluded in thinking the Progressive movement of today can be compared to the ideology of the the ‘founding fathers’. It is not too late for you to do a little reading also Eddie. I will start you in the right direction. Expansion of government and laws are not a sign of freedom. Tacitus 100AD “The more numerous the laws the more corrupt the government.” The problem with the left is that they learn nothing from history.

          • Bruce D.

The Progressives of today are not fighting for liberty. They are fighting for government domination of society with the belief that they can control a government that has become a dominating force over the people.

Kate8… Yes… I think you are right. I really hate the race card rhetoric…. It’s even worse with Obama not black and not white. It shouldn’t have ever been brought up on this blog!

          • kate8

Robin – Liberals/Progressives use race whenever they have nothing else to offer. There was a time when it stopped all debate, but no more.

If someone wants to have a discussion about race, then why not be honest about it. The truth of the matter is that everyone is afraid of the subject, because all a conservative has to do is refer to it to be branded racist. Liberals, on the other hand, and the real racists. In fact, they are obsessed with it.

Making it a taboo subject only makes it a weapon. That is the whole purpose.

          • Jana

            Kate8,
You are so right on this. There are many races in this country and each and every one of us have good and bad in its midst. We each have those in our own race that we would not even think about associating with. We each have those in our own race that we don’t agree with politically nor so we agree with their life style.

So to bring out the stupid race card is well just stupid and as you said, its because they actually have nothing of value to add, and they want to shut you up. But as you also stated it no longer works.

  • John Raymon Johnson

Something I can’t comprehend is, that there doesn’t seem to be anyone that understands the real reason that all of this crazy wild out of control spending and illegal passage of laws with no regard for the constitution is for the purpose of destroying this United (not so any more) States. And it seems that there is no one around that wants to or can do anything about it.

John – Haven’t you figured out that this administration does not care about the Constitution? Some of them have come right out and said it.

The very fact that Obama refuses to produce a valid BC or open any of his records is proof enough of that. We have a foreign agent sitting in our highest office, and not one person in any branch of government will stand up and demand he do so.

That pretty much says all we need to know. The question is, how much are we willing to do about it.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        kate8,
not only do they not care about the constitution, they don’t acre about the nation or the people either!!!

    • JeffH

Gotta love those lawyers that become legislators…taught in liberal leftist colleges….huh?

One of my favorite quotes: “The redistribution of wealth is an idea founded on the principles developed by people who refuse to work for a living. Most of them have found their calling in politics.”

  • Ret

Are we still giving billions of dollars to China and India as ‘emerging nations’? The scumingtons will continue on their destructive path until the majority of Americans say enough is enough. Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening. Had the occasion to talk with a main stream woman I know professionally. She is well educated, has a good job, and I thought common sense. Her statement to me was basically that the country is in a mess, there’s nothing we can do about it, so why bother. She could care less and said that it could be worse. That’s where the real battle is, a thinking electorate that will get rid of anyone, in either party who is not pro citizen, pro country and pro civil rights of citizens, legal immigrants and legal guests who respect the law.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      Ret,
This is a major problem. People like her don’t stop to think about what they are leaving their kids and other peoples kids. As long as they get what THEY want out of life, the hell with future generations!! I would like to think after I’m dead and long gone this great nation will go on with constitutional granted freedoms as well as God given rights!

      • Ret

Sad, isn’t it. I don’t know how to explain to people, they don’t get it, and when they finally do, it will be too late. Give ‘em their beer, wide screen tv, sports and desperate housewives. What’s the problem? I’m just negative. Yeah, right.

  • Ed Herold

Obama is Illegal according to SonoranNews.com His Long form Birth Certificate was posted in their paper on Sept 6th 2010 and no one cares. I have never seen any rebuttle of this. I think we need to recall Obama and deport him. Reverse all he has put into action as it’s all illegally done. Any person that needs to hide everything about himself from the past has no business running for office and the people that elect a person of this nature for change and know nothing about what change is to be — How nuts is this country comming to. Never thought it would get this bad so quick. I’m retired military and have believed in America all my life. Just don’t know any more——————-

    • Ret

You’re right, no one cares. I am a retired RN, worked in Honolulu for a number of years, and NO ONE ever has said that they remember him. Kapiolani Hospital is about 3 blocks from where his grandmother lived. I know people who worked there for years. He would have been remembered because he is half white and half black, not Asian or Polynesian. Somewhere on U-Tube, sorry don’t have the name, an interview with an ambassador or some governmental official stated that he was born there and they were very proud of him. Why are all of his records sealed???

      • Ret

Sorry, goofed. The official was from Kenya.

      • Doug

Ret thats the new Governor of Hawaii Ambercombie I believe the spelling is. He is in his 70′S and looks like he did way to much Pakalolo back in the day, actually he still is. He also said he would show everyone the BC when elected! But unfournately they can’t find it. But don’t worry he said there was notiation in the ledger that Obama was born in Hawaii.

        • Ret

Yeah Doug, and I have reindeer that fly. When they come home is when the BC will be found.

      • wayne

We don’t have one leader, any where in this country, that will confront Obama to made him show his real birth certificate. These idiots are all gutless. I am certainly glad that our policemen aren’t like this, or there would not be any enforcement of the law. I blame the Democrats for not vetting Nobama.

      • wayne

Very good question, Ret. Why are they sealed?

        • Ret

That’s a new state law to protect the guilty. Just enacted recently.

  • Ed Herold

Just noticed I didn’t put in his long form BC was from kenya

    • kate8

Ed and Ret – There are millions of us who DO care. But it is painfully apparent that our Constitutional Republic has been overthrown from within, and this, it saddens me to say, will become more apparent as the year wears on.

All indications show that the PTB have some major shock planned for us this year. The complete lack of sincerety and enthusiasm by everyone at the SOTU speech spoke volumes. They know things won’t get better.

The only thing they need now is a major event so they can openly grab control militarily. Hold on to your hats, and for God’s sake, prepare.

      • kate8

Some interesting stuff. Just what are these (foreign) troops training for?

We know this administration intends to get guns. Just how they will go about it is the question. Americans aren’t just going to hand them over like people in Europe and Australia have.

        http://dprogram.net/2011/01/28/operation-vigilant-guard-foreign-troops-training-to-confiscate-guns-of-americans/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+wordpress%2FBcwy+%28Deprogram%29&utm_content=Yahoo%21+Mail

        • eddie47d

Kate 8 You’re going to come up with one of these videos and it will be one too many. A disaster drill is nothing to be paranoid about and they should be welcomed. Heaven help us if they aren’t prepared. We have had hundreds of “foreign troops” train for many scenarios here in America. I’m not always in favor of them (at least those who are trained and then go back to their home country and kill their fellow citizens). They did alot of that in the 80′s under Reagan. Let’s not forget that we have troops in almost every country on earth so a few of their troops here getting trained against terrorism may not be a bad thing. Maybe then they can take care of their own problems and keep us out of their squabbles.

      • Ret

        You’re right Kate8,

I care, and always did. Wish there were more of us who are willing to stand up. The ‘protest’ against gate rape did not happen. It’s the same with so many other things. I will no longer fly, and will lose many FF miles, but don’t care. Most people complain, then shrug and just do it anyway. Sad, really.

“I guess it’s pretty ridiculous to ask a few of Obama’s favorite billionaires to make up the difference. There will be no passing the hat in Hollywood; no fund-raisers sponsored by George Soros, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet or their buddies.”

or any Americans it seems Wood Chip!

Didn’t we are have a chance to pony up a few weeks ago?

I’ll lay down the first C note if that’s what it would be spent for.

If 100 million people would do the same, we’d be left with nothing to talk about in no time.

    • ValDM

      Bob,
You might just as well take that money and set fire to it. If you give them money to reduce the debt, they’ll just spend it on something elsewe don’t want or need. The spending just has to stop.

      • Carlucci

Exactly – ! Giving those bozos any more money as you’ve suggested would be pure folly. They’ve already proven that they are totally irresponsible and clueless. Might as well flush it down the toilet.

Before I forget, a friend of mine sent me a fascinating ebooklet called “The Foreclosure Defense Manual”. I read it last weekend and was blown away by it. Here’s the site: http://www.consumerdefenseprograms.com

      • Bruce D.

I think that is what the left does not get. Giving government more money does nothing to reduce the debt as they consistently find more ways to spend money.

    • JeffH

Gee bob, such an easy soloution and you thought it up all by yourself?
Maybe you should consider a run in 2012!
I and a few million more Americans might have a little problem with that idea though.
Somehow, someway our government will find a way to spend it and I don’t mean for deficit reduction. Oh, someone will get richer from it, reap the rewards of the added tax payments…look at it as repaying old debts if you will, by those that have been bought and payed for.

The reason progressives/liberials/ soicailist/ mental midgets can not understand why Onumnutts is getting blame, it is because the dumbocrap idoits are lead by Nazi Traitor George Soros. Investing speech is just more spending taxpayers more like a raghead, only this slub will not use or sell any of our own crude oil, to have funds and put people to work. Soros Socialists and Onumnutts, all must love the muslim ideaology and beleive in it, since the party top to bottom love tax cheats and compulisive liars.

  • One Angry Mom

I’m not really competent on the complexities of world economy and US finances, but I do know this….our family follows a budget that we can afford and I EXPECT the same from our government….city, state and fed. The ONLY thing that OBAMA said during his campaign that I agreed with was “I will take the budget, line item by line item….” Heck, last year they did not even pass a budget!!!!! I am so dissapointed in him, and angry at all the other politicians that don’t work for their salary! Ridiculous is putting it mildly.

    • http://! Angel Wannabe

One Angry Mom, Your RIIIIGHT!___I’ve NEVER been able to spend myself outta debt!!!

      • bob wire

true , you work yourself out of debt.

now if you somehow think this work can be achieved without any cost to you ~ I’d like for you to come and work for me, run my business, I need someone like you ~ or you are the very last thing I need.

        which will it be?

I have a $350. dollar tree and I need to plant it in a $100. dollar hole.

total initial cost outlay, = $450.00

Now if I try to be thrifty and plant a $350.00 tree in a $50.00 hole, I chance losing the whole investment of $400.00 or slow it’s growth and losing 3 years of growth, ending up with a 100.00 tree. I’d be miles ahead a be less ambitious with a smaller $100.00 tree to begin with.

How ambitious are you and is potential failure or falling short your goals an option you can live with?

Maybe it’s better to leave such matters to all the “serious” people that are willing to invest the time seeking the skills and people with the determination and vested interest that offers some assurance of solid results?

We invested heavily in a strong military and nation building. Are you not pride of your investment today? That we had an Administration that refused to accept Military Brass wise council was indeed misfortune but we still have one bad a$$ military arm that is second to none.

I think investing in America is a very good idea. It’s this or that? What is on your shopping list today? If I don’t spent it, it will never come around to you. If you don’t spend it, it will never come around to me.

What does it take to create a $100.00 hole?

We have a 2 trillion dollar hole in the middle east and attempt to plant democracy.

I don’t think the hole is big enough! I don’t believe that they ask for a democracy tree, so who is going to keep it watered until it take root?

~ so we should stop spending and planting here at home because of this 8 years of poor spending practices?

        I just don’t think so.

        • Cawmun Cents

Perhaps if you took that tree and inserted it in another hole we would all be better off.

        • Karolyn

Yes! We need to invest in America to bring us into the 21st century!

        • pleasepassthetea

To Bob Wire – There is one major hole in your analogy about the tree and the hole. Your analogy assumes that the person spending the $450.00 is solvent and actually has that $450.00 in the bank. But if you’re in the hole, pun intended, to the tune of trillions of dollars, adding to that deficit spending creates. . . a bigger hole!!!! Along with the risk that the tree might die!!! If the tree dies you are now in bigger trouble than you were before you had the hair-brained idea to plant the tree. Investing is a great way to reap a profit as long as you have the money. You should never risk money you can’t afford to lose. This is basic economics. And we are OUT of money.

          • Karolyn

So are we supposed to just sit here with our finger up our butt while the world passes us by?

          • pleasepassthetea

I think there are other options Karolyn. . . .

          • bob wire

            Good point pleasepassthetea, I understand.

I’ve been at this point many times and seemed to stay there until I learned to pay myself and be serious with money matters.

I now pay me first! a tiny tiny amount! ~ 4 to 5 cents on every dollar is mine forever and then I’ve sicne learned to build on that.

But back to the hole we have dug for ourselves.

You can’t stop! Stopping is not an option. If you are busted flat you are left with only your inventory and sweat equity to bargain with.

I have lost everything but my name more then once. It was my name and my intent that I was left to leveraged. I’ve payed a high cost for my follies, I’ve bought both time and money at greatly inflated prices just to keep the doors to opportunities open.

I don’t entertain foolish ideas and foolish disingenuous people anymore.

This is what our government must do as well. Develop a no nonsense approach to money matters, distance itself from squanders.

but simply refusing to act or to invest is not an option.

China needs us! We need China. ~ Owing people money is not a bad thing in itself but paying insane interest sure is.

You don’t kill or damage people that owe you money, you treat they well until it becomes impossible to do.

NO COUNTRY(OR PERSON) CAN SURVIVE LONG WHEN THEY HAVE MORE MONEY GOING OUT EVERY MONTH THAN COMING IN. WITH LESS PEOPLE WORKING, MORE PEOPLE DRAWING WELFARE BENEFITS (WELFARE CHECKS,MEDICAL,FOOD STAMPS,SECTION 8 HOUSING,FREE LUNCHES,CLOTHING ALLOWANCE,FREE EDUCATION ECT ECT)AND ALOT LESS WORKING TO PAY IN TAXES IT JUST WON’T WORK.SOCIAL SECURITY IS IN TROUBLE BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER PAID INTO IT ARE ALLOWED TO DRAW BENEFITS INCLUDING DISABILITY WITH MEDICAL. WE HAVE 4 PEOPLE IN UMC HOSPITAL ON KIDNEY DIALISIS AT A COST OF $250,000.00( ALL ILLEGALS ON MEDICAID).TRY THAT AS A CITIZEN.THIS IS JUST ONE EXAMPLE HOW MANY MILLIONS MORE ARE DRAWING ON THE SYSTEM. THE BIG GUYS KNOW THE AMOUNT OF MONEY SENT TO MEXICO EVERYDAY GENERALLY TAX FREE. NO ONE IS TRYING TO CURB THIS FLOW OF MONEY. TAX THIS AT LEAST PUT A 50% TAX ON ANY MONEY LEAVING THE COUNTRY BY MONEY ORDER,WESTERN UNION ECT. AT LEAST WE WOULD GET TO KEEP PART OF THIS MONEY.MOST OF THE MONEY REFUNDED BY EARNED INCOME CREDIT IS SENT TO MEXICO. STOP EIC IF YOU DON’T PAY IT IN YOU DON’T GET BACK. STOP REWARDING PEOPLE FOR HAVING MORE CHILDREN (CHILD TAX CREDIT AND CHILD DAYCARE CREDIT)WE’RE ALREADY OVER POPULATED AND IT’S YOUR CHOICE TO HAVE CHILDREN.YOU PAY FOR THEM.CAN’T FEED THEM DON’T BREED THEM. IT SHOLD NOT BE UP TO EVERY OTHER TAX PAYER TO PAY FOR YOUR 10 CHILDREN’S FOOD,EDUCATION,MEDICAL AND ANY OTHER THING THEY NEED WHEN WE CHOSE TO HAVE ONLY 2.TAKE THIS MONEY TO HELP OUR MILITARY WHEN MOST OF THE ENLISTED PERSONEL LIVE AT POVERTY LEVEL. IT’S IRONIC THAT THEY WANT TO CUT MILITARY BENEFITS AND INCREASE WELFARE BENEFITS.I GUESS THEY DON’T RELIZE OR CARE MILITARY PEOPLE VOTE TOO.STOP ALL NON CITIZEN BENEFITS.LET THEM STRUGGLE LIKE THE CITIZENS WHO ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET TO WORK BECAUSE GAS IS $3.50 A GALLON OR MAKING A CHOICE BETWEEN MAKING A HOUSE PAYMENT OR FEEDING THEIR KIDS BECAUSE THERE ISN’T ENOUGH MONEY FOR BOTH.

The point is, it all comes down to money. If not Soros the Nazi sympathizer, who broke the bank of England, then who? The Rothschilds, Rockefellers, Sauds, Goldmans, etc run the show. • Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity’

I agree that all the mainstream politicians are just puppets (Republicans included) working for their Bilderberg overlords…but the question then becomes:

        How do you stop it?

Do you vote independent? While I might be down with giving that a go, I doubt the rest of ‘America’ would be so willing to move away from their comfort zone they know and love so much.

So then what? Try to overthrow the government?

I know you people think your precious guns are the answer, but as someone else pointed out (Bob Wire, maybe?), the US military has y’all chumped by a long shot…and I do mean a lonnnnnnnng shot.

Sure, you have handguns, shotguns, rifles, and such…but they have F-22′s, A1 tanks, smart bombs, and missiles. This isn’t 1776 anymore, Toto.

In short: We’d all be f*cked to go that route. Plus, that would make y’all ‘terrorists’…and we all know how you feel about ‘terrorists’.

I still think the best bet would be to vote independent, and then demand that they bring the troops home, and let the countries in the Middle East sort their own crap out.

        • Cawmun Cents

The U.S. military as you call them is a voluntary force. If they choose to back the Fed,then they are nothing more than mercenaries. They are us.In other words they have taken an oath to protect us,not the Fed.So that shoots your theory in the dick. How are you going to pay our troops enough to kill their own family members?Especially when the political climate and financial situation is at the level of deterioration we have now.You cant pay our boys(military) with money that has no value. So who are you going to get to keep the next revolution from happening? You will have to bring in foreign troops like the British did in the Revolutionary War.But that didnt work out for them very well did it?You have a very un-thoughful way of viewing the realities at hand.I suggest that you realize that nobody believed the colonies would defeat BRITAIN either.A mistake which founded this nation…..bon apetit Mr. crow eater.

          • Cawmun Cents

Yes Mr. Clown Car quoter, that would be true if Mrs.Palin were sleeping around. But since you have no Idea of the sexual practices of Mrs.Palin, that makes your clown car a place you come out of.So do us all a favor…climb bck into the clown car and take all the other clowns with you please. Thanks for calling

        • Searcher

I’m sure glad there weren’t as many defeatist sissies like you back in 1776. My family has been fighting wars for this country since before it WAS a country. They didn’t own any cannons (the apex of military technology at the time) but they still managed to win the war, one musketball at a time. Once you defeat the guys shooting the cannon at you, it becomes YOUR cannon to shoot at their allies. A shotgun will kill you just as dead as a smart bomb will. (and at a greatly reduced cost)

          • Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity’

Well, Searcher…since you’re such a tough guy, I wish you the best of luck with that. Let’s hope it works out, and ends with one of those John Wayne movie, dream-world endings, that so many of you seem to be convinced will come to pass.

Oh, wait…did I forget to mention…*they* (not you) have nukes?

*They*…also have chemical and biological weapons. Previously, they had only sold them to countries like Iraq, so they could use them against their people…but you know, if it came down to it, I suppose the people who tell the presidents what to do, might just decide to use them on the new dissidents (that would be you, tough guy), and to crush any possible uprisings.

Don’t think it could happen here?

Riiiiiight…I guess that’s because you assume *they* value your measly, pathetic lives, more than they value money and power.

Sorry, Charlie. That’s not ‘The American Way’. Not anymore, anyways.

Money is the reigning ‘God’ in ‘America’ now. When I was young and naive, I thought god was something else. Now I know better.

…also, to (offensive words removed) – no need to get your panties in a bunch over my Palin comments.

I was just pointing out that she (offensive words removed)
That she’s a complete and total airhead is beside the point, as is the fact that she’s dangerously unqualified to run for anything in this country (other than maybe a shoe sale, or to pop yet another bun out of her overactive oven (read: womb…you know, for the slower ones here).

Anyways, thanks for your semi-thoughtful comments.

Folks: here is what is going to happen. Lets just say I wish I was a fetus that got aborted and instantly transported to heaven (as lol christians believe).

    1. China stops financing us.
    2. The dollar crashes, people riot, people die, people starve. The military is called in and at worse, blindly obeys orders to throw us all in FEMA camps where we starve concentration camp style. If this worse case scenario happens, its better to die instantly then slowly starve over a period of a few months.
    3. At best, our military fractures and civil war 2 ensues. At best, the military siding with the people and constitutionalists win against the military siding with the Pentagon and New World Order.
    4. Foreign countries take full advantage and invade us even if the factions of the military siding with the people win. We are wiped out.
    5. We are forced to use nukes as a last resort, nuclear holocaust ensues.
    6. In all liklihood, you get sent straight to Hell to burn forever and ever while God, Jesus, and everyone in Heaven looks on and smiles at your suffering for not declaring allegience to his Lordship. aka God. The one dictator we are supposed to love and adore forever.
    7. Or, you survive in “Hell on Earth”, aka a New World Order prison planet the like of which even Alex Jones couldn’t forsee.

THE END!!! Oh, how I wish I was aborted 30 years ago. Then I could lol at all the people swimming in the lake of fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ARE DRAINING OUR TREASURY. WHAT ELSE? TURN COATS IN OUR COUNTRY WHO DON’T KNOW WHAT THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION STANDS FOR? AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL KNOW THE CONCEPTS AS THEY HAVE BEEN DUMBED DOWN BY OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. THIS ISN’T ABOUT WHO IS AT FAULT, IT’S ABOUT WHO’S BEEN WORKING HARD TO OVERTHROW OUR GOVERNMENT AND OUR WAY OF LIFE. WE HAVE THE RICHEST NATION IN THE WORLD AND IT WAS HANDED TO US BY OUR FIGHTING FOREFATHERS AND WE ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO THROW IT AWAY. NO ONE ELSE IN THE WORLD HAS THE FREEDOM THAT WAS FOUGHT FOR BY OUR FOREFATHERS THAN US. THINK ABOUT IT. AND THE LAWYERS ARE MAKING A BUNDLE.

As you know, reducing spending in a recession will deepen the recession and stall the recovery. I’ve been saying we should restore tax rates to what they were at the beginning of Reagan’s second term, 50% marginal rate in the highest bracket. But, Warren Buffett, who has more at stake than everyone in America except Bill Gates, says 60%. I bow to the financial wizard.

We know what the causes of the debt are: revenue lost to the recession, the two wars and tax cuts for the rich. Spending is far down the list. Moody’s said that the passage of the tax renewal is such a bad idea that they may be required to lower the credit rating of the United States. That would make it more difficult and expensive to repay the debt because we would have to pay a higher interest rate. One-third of the stimulus was tax cuts for the middle class. The stimulus created about 3 million jobs. Many Republicans have credited the stimulus with preventing a 1930s-style Great Depression. 114 Republicans in Congress took credit for the stimulus jobs with their constituents.

The FBI vets all Presidential candidates. Obviously, that’s done before the election, so that means it was the Bush DOJ. If you think they lied, just march on over to your local FBI office and accuse them of lying.

The foreign aid we give to Yemen is counter-terrorism money. Do you oppose fighting terrorism?

The financial and auto bail-outs began with George Bush and that was a good thing. The US did not give or loan money to the affected companies. It bought preferred stock. With the rising stock market, the US has turned a handy profit at every repayment stage so far as the companies bought back their own stock at prices substantially above what the US Treasury bought them for.

There is a general lack of intellectual rigor here and also some outright racism. You can do better.

    • Grinch

Um, spending less in a recession will hasten the recovery? Again, this seems to be the nonsense we have been spoon fed for quite some time. So Harry, why don’t you explain to me how this works. The federal government is supposed to infuse the economy with cash and go on a spending spree to help the private sector economy? I will listen if you are able to explain to me in detail just how exactly we can get ourselves out of a bad recession by government spending?

Seriously, no one has been able to eloquently explain this concept to me in a satisfactory manner, including my best friend who graduated top of his class at Univ. of Chicago Business School. But, please go ahead.

      • BobbyB

I’ll try to explain it. Our economy is driven by consumption, PERIOD. People consume goods and services and more goods and services are produced to meet the DEMAND. Supply Side Economics is just smoke and mirrors. George HW Bush called it Voodoo Economics which is exactly what it is. When demand for goods and services decline, then fewer goods and services are made resulting in factory closing, layoffs, etc.

We have seen that happening in America for the past few years at an alarming rate. Demand is down because A: fewer people have jobs, B: Those that have jobs have less discretionary income, and C: The banks are no longer lending.

If the private sector is not putting money in to the economy, then the government or someone must or it collapses. That”s an over simplification but that’s how it works.

    • Bruce D.

Harry says: “As you know, reducing spending in a recession will deepen the recession”. Then he goes on to talk about raising taxes on everyone to what they were before the Reagan years which will do just that-reduce spending and deepen the recession. You can’t get any better double talk than that.

    • marvin

      Harry Buttle
if what you say is true and we made some money on the bailout how is it we are 14 + trillion dollars in the red and need to raise the spending limits oh i know we just need to spend money to make money

    • JeffH

Harry, your lack of intellect is also obvious. Since when is it the responsibility of the FBI to vet a presidential candidate? It’s not! It is the states responsibility, not the federal government, FBI, CIA or even the EPA.

Even though the office of the President is part of the Federal Government, the Feds don’t have any power to enforce the Constitution’s “natural born citizen” requirement for Presidential candidates.
It’s the state governments, and their State Elections Divisions, who are actually the government officials who are responsible for ensuring a candidate, during the election process, is legitimate.

      • Bruce D.

Harry should not resort to ‘race baiting’ if he wants intellectual rigor as he claims. I think your post JeffH might be a little more intellectual rigor than Harry had hoped for.

      • bob wire

Thanks for the link Jeff. It was the most level headed read on the subject as I have read.

It’s strange how we think we know how it works until someone offers question.

It is truly amazing. Think of all the many people that has been born and we attempt to offer solid acceptable documentation for each one that everyone might legally accept.

I’ve know of children being born in the back seat of Police Cruisers but never wondered about the documentation aspects.

In regard to “O”, seems we all accept his mother as being a Citizen of the USA. For my part, I feel that is good enough, but I can see reason for question. The term “Natural Born” citizen leave too much blue sky for legal discussion.

    Hey BOB Wire,
If you laid down a c note, Obama would jump with joy and spend
another 5 c notes. This guy along with people like George Soros want to collapse the system and ruin America completely. They are looking far beyond 2012. Obama,I think, would like to rule America for a long
time, and then the world.Did`t Obama say he wanted to transform
America? IT sounds like a man by the name of Adloph Hitler. Beat the
people down far enough and you can get them to buy into anything.Obama allready thinks he`s God along with the media and a lot of other people.

    • Denniso

You know there were people who believed that Bush was going to declare martial law and suspend elections so he could retain power…didn’t happen. There were people who swore that Obama was going to cancel the last elections to avoid the Democratic losses that were predicted…didn’t happen. Now you people are sure that Obama wants to be a dictator holding onto power like Hitler…won’t happen, and is the stupidest idea in the wackosphere so far!

Quit buying into this baloney of one conspiracy after another,do some real thinking and reading and improve your mental health at the same time.

      • DaveH

Oh, and we should listen to you, Dumniso? A guy who supports the kind of politics that have taken down the economies of one country after another? A guy who ignores experience and calls others names for not being naive? A guy who supports a morally bankrupt kind of politics which puts good people at the mercy of human animals whose only morality is how best they can seperate others from their property?
Sorry, Dumniso, I prefer being smart enough to learn from experience, and to keep my morality.

        • denniso

It’s still mostly a free country,so listen to whom you please…

            In spite of your kind.

      • kate8

Denniso – People who are aware can see where things are heading without being necessarily able to predict the exact timing.

The fact that it hasn’t happened yet is no indication that it won’t. False alarms are an age-old ploy of those seeking power so people will stop listening and be easily caught off-guard. History will well attest to this. And history unlearned is history repeated.

Of course, we all know that you belong to the camp who thinks everything is just peachy. But we live in two different worlds: those who want to make their own way unmolested by government, and those who depend on government for everything.

Oh, you guys will have a ride for a while longer. But government depends on the independent earner to finance government paychecks. When that runs out…

        • http://! Angel Wannabe

Kate8, so true, can anyone say Egypt?

        • bob wire

“People who are aware can see where things are heading without being necessarily able to predict the exact timing.”

Well Angel, while I can’t disagree with you, I can suggest that “this degree” of awareness and ANY eminent pending doom is being greatly embellish purely for single parties political gains. IN PARTICULAR the party not in power at the present.

It’s true! if no brake is applied, ~ we can drive through the back side of the garage.

Just how quick does this noisy crowd expect the brakes to be applied?

What will satisfy these these people that demand control? It’s not their to have today. The GOP has been out of power only two years while enjoying 18 of the last 30 years.

Dennis is asking for calm reasoning to prevail, ~ that is all. And you are telling Dennis, the time for reason has past, do as I say, and you it now, ~ while you have neither brake or steering wheel.

There is nothing new afoot in spite of all your Renewed “awareness”

it DDSS, (different day ,same $h-t) and for now , your party is out of power ~ I got use to it as I watched the GOP and Bush do pretty well what them decided to do in spite worthy opposition.

I would hope you and your friends could find your civil self and express yourselves at the ballot box as we were left to do.

But I assure you, not being aware is not the issues at hand.

And your point is what Dave? Anyone with half a brain know what been going on in this country since 1913 Dave! But I can tell you this if the speaker does sign off on this at least us people who are conservatives and tea party members will fire his ass first chance we get tears and all!

      • DaveH

My point, Doug, is you are dreaming if you expect salvation from Republicans. They like Big Government almost as much as do the Democrats. They have a different agenda, that is all. Have you heard any Republicans call for an end to Criminalization of Victimless Crimes, for instance?
Our problems stem from too much Government intrusion into our personal daily choices and wallets, and that isn’t going to end until people wake up and embrace Real Freedom. I don’t mean Freedom the Democrat way, or Freedom the Republican way. I mean the kind of Freedom our Founders envisioned. The kind of Freedom that is promoted by only one Political Party — The Libertarian Party:

  • Howard R Gray

The debt situation and the lies are normal fare, the debt ceiling is just another ruse to increase spending, “we need cash now” appears to be all that matters. It isn’t difficult to accept that there is more than enough money in the system to pay down the debt. So what is the real agenda here?

For socialists the idea is simple, keep the show on the road at any cost, buying power is the game, it is that simple. There is no concept in the minds of most of the elite how wealth is created, they don’t understand that the goose could leave town and there would be no eggs left. The Van Joneses of this world seem to believe that if somehow the government ran everything all inequalities of outcome could be solved. This is an infantile idea, no one is equal and that is the point, we all have different talents and that is how it should be. The division of labour merely reflects that fact that talent needs to migrate to where it is best employed from craft skills to surgery. The sheer multiplicity of human endevour is beyond the conceptual framework of socialist social engineers.

Puerile schemata of equality of outcome does not equate with reality, nor will it ever do so. The sad thing is that socialists continue to believe their ideas are essential to human welfare. They never understand how wealth is created, such concepts are far removed from their mental landscapes, rendering their simplistic ideas of government irrelevant and dangerous to human welfare. They just cannot conceive of the complexity of reality or of society either, it is completely beyond them. Adam Smith and the invisible hand concept was the harbinger of the notion that “how it all works” is beyond us to some extent, the Austrian economic school reintroduced this idea with a vengeance into modern economic analysis though Keynesians and the like still don’t get it. The calculation question is the at the center of the debate on how to understand economics, no amount of fine calculus will ever penetrate the limits of economic knowledge, it is rather like the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle in observing the location of the electron in the atom. The energy of the observation process distorts the observation; by a similar token in economics, no one can at any time know what is happening in the minds of the economic actors or in the larger macro world of events the weather and the next earth quake. There are places where knowledge isn’t admitted to the game. Prescribing for economic outcomes are doomed because the calculation process is limited thus government is limited in what it can achieve in managing the economy. Silly equalitarian notions are no match for the idea that the engine of wealth creation is outside that program. How wealth is created is fugitive at best and difficult to understand because it comes from the moment and cannot be governed. New ideas are not amenable to governance nor will they ever be. The socialist agenda is to equalize where they see fit but only so that some are more equal than others. George Orwell’s animals knew the real outcome of this petty plan for human advancement. Nowhere in any socialist agenda is a wealth creation plan ever formulated. Socialism always faces backwards to the past to equalize what has been not what will be. Without a sense of how ideas come about and wealth creation they are a lost cause.

Spending money that is not theirs, expropriating wealth from those that have it, and so on and so forth seem the only obvious solutions to their idea of making the world fairer and this is all they have to offer. The fact that it never works doesn’t dawn on them. They have no conceptual structure of why what they do fails no knowledge of history or of evidence of any kind that might alert them to be more careful ever enters their minds. With no obvious sense that borrowing money, you don’t have beyond all reason leads to perdition, they do it anyway. Scary isn’t it!

Chip Wood explains exactly with evidence that the debt situation can be managed, and so it can. The alternative is the melt down approach, which might be intentional on the part of some in the governing classes and its supporters. The idiotic millenarian approach of “starting again” after the revolution, may be uppermost in the minds of the Maoists and other clueless mavens of socialism near the reins of power. Those of us who have some history in our mental furniture understand only too well where this project will take us that is why we oppose it.

The solution will come one way or the other, meltdown or monetary/fiscal reform. Perhaps then we might have a balanced budget amendment to the constitution and possibly congressional salaries could be linked so that they are reduced in proportion to debt that is incurred in any one year. Performance related pay is that such a bad idea? After all, these jerks are only too pleased to pass silly laws and exhort the rest of us how we should run our lives.

One other thing, why not auction off all that Federal and State Real estate, forests, development land, mineral rights and the like to pay down the national debt in advance of a balanced budget reform? Why should an insolvent government hold on to any assets when it is so far in debt?

Simple: The greaest threat to America is the democrat party and second is the republican party.Democrats destroy the country in fast motion and the republican party in slow motion.ALL congress and ALL government workers are ALL paid too much.It as time to CUT congress’s pay by 50% and all other government workers pay by 25%.Just cut 100% of pay to ALL ZCARS and 50%pay cut for Obama’s adminastration with no retirement for anyone in congress or adminastration and cut off all the others retirements from past adminastrations and congress as well. It is time to take the shackles off the American people and place them on the EPA and drill for oil ANYWHERE we have a lot of oil, even on land.$1.00 a gallion for all Americans and that would be a real stimulus for all Americans WE can believe in and the rest sold to get rid of the deficit.Where is the $500,000,000,000.00 after two years Obama got from the fraud and waste which is against the law? Was that a lie? When it comes to healthcare, the problem is they charge TOO MUCH BECAUSE THEY CAN and they do.All welfare and disablity should be checked out for fraud and let the truly disabled alone. No more free money to countries that hate us and let the countries we save, sell their oil and pay the American people back and let all the muslim countries bail out and help their own.America should be the greatest and richest country on earth and the people that do not agree should pack their bags and get out and the goes for all of Obama’s czars most of his adminastration and half of the democrat party and congress.GOD blessed America and they want to give it all away and get rid of GOD……..Charles of Waveland,MS……

Our situation cannot at this time add 25 to 40 million people looking for jobs that are not there. Our systym will now not tolerate the cost of taking care of this amount of people all at once. The constitution has to be obeyed the way it was written. So,you Bastards in D.C.,Put away your erasers and let the people who love this country for what it truly is get on with the good work of it Pick up your free loading asses and go back into the work force, like everyone else.We are tired of supporting the B.S. STOP!!!!! calling him president. In fact stop everything until the question of eligibility has been answered. Forget about illegal aliens crossing our borders illegaly, we can’t even prevent them from crossing The White House lawn apparently. Heathcare reform is insignificant, alternative fuels mean nothing compared to the fact that we know not who is actually planted in The Oval Office. This is INSANE!!!! Without legitimate birth documents, how can we know where his allegiances spring from? If he has lied about something as basic and fundamental as his place of birth, how can anything else he has said or claimed, be believed?

It’s not just about Obama anymore, but all others who have sworn off on his ligitimacy, too many heads would roll. This unprecedented event has reached new heights in political deceit that will turn this country inside out if ever owned up to. We are traversing unmapped territory here with the thought of our most intimate national security secrets having been entrusted to an illegal alien. What will Nancy Pelosi’s excuse be? How will the Supreme Court explain? If ever the truth is unfurled it will make by comparison, Watergate look like a fibb told by an eight year old child.

Not only will every document signed by the imposter be null and void, but the consequences there of will be forever questioned and foister upon us a nation wide paralysis which in the interim will leave our country vulnerable to outside attack during the anarchy that ensues.

      pappy smear,
Trying too convince people that Reagan was anything less than the best president since Washington is just another liberal perpetual notion. As any scientist will tell you, liberal perpetual notions violate the laws of Physics. Besides, all your rantings will not prevent the eventual carving of Reagan’s image on the face of Mt. Rushmore even if they have to evict Teddy Roosevelt too do it.

      • http://! Angel Wannabe

        Right on Michael J!!!!

If the real story, on reagan wants to be read:

        Tear Down This Myth

        http://www.progressivebookclub.com/pbc2/viewBook.pbc?id=1252&srcKey=2115b6

This book, is about how the reagan legacy distorted our politics and ruins our future.

Repubs won’t ever be happy, till they don’t pay any taxes, and slavery is legalized, again.

I just don’t understand, how a repub, making $7.00 to $9.00/ hour, has blind loyalty to a party, that only has the supports the country club set, and not the Sam’s Club group.

        • http://?? Joe H.

          Bob,
Way to go!! Bring out the race card like a good progressive, you racist!!

        • kate8

Bob – Democrats have always been the slave-owners, and still are. Just look at how you treat blacks, and any minorities for that matter, who stray off the plantation.

I refer you to an earlier post. Progressives only bring up race because you have nothing of value to say.

      • Bruce D.

Thanks for that great post Michael J. Reagan was a great man. It has become very important for liberals to smear him. One thing he did that is overlooked was he fought the Progressive Liberal Republicans that had taken over the party. Sarah Palin and Michael Bachman along with others are continuing that battle enduring personal smears in the process. He also has a lot to do with Southern Democrats turning Republican with his clear vision of conservative values. I think one reason McCain lost the election is that he had no clear vision of conservative principles. He is only now beginning to have some understanding with the threat of losing his senate seat.

        • Michael J.

          Bruce D,
Thanks Bruce, But It’s Reagan who deserves the credit for confronting Communism here and around the world. It’s his disdain for Communism that makes him still a target of liberal progressive socialist even after his death. It’s up to others to defend his legacy now.

What we need now is a Reagan like protege to command an army of Joseph McCarthy’s to confront the tyranny here at home and abroad.

          • Bruce D.

I am with you all the way on that Michael.

You know, that pappy’s kinda sappy!!!

    • DaveH

      Pappy,
You wouldn’t know the truth if it bit you in the butt. Ronald Reagan issued more vetoes than any president since Dwight Eisenhower. Is it Reagan’s fault that he was dealing with a free-spending Congress who overrode 12% of his vetoes? Even many in his own Republican party fought hard against his proposed spending cuts, and the Democrats, who controlled the House for the entire 8 years, were not about to reign in their spending habits.
Even with his growing Alzheimer’s disease he showed more common sense spending restraint than any president after him. That includes Clinton who restrained his spending only because he had no choice:

      • Bob

Reagan, also fired the air traffic controllers, for striking.

I Was in the UMWA, back them, and all UNION people, should have walked out. He planted the seed, for anti-unionism, and America, is still suffering, from the policies of this feel good, but knows nothing president.

He was just another tool, for the rich repukes.

        • Michael J.

          Bob,
Here we go again, another disgruntled union whiner. He was right to fire the flight controllers. Anyone who puts lives at risk just to settle a labor dispute deserves to be fired.

And on another note, I lived through the Reagan era, raised family and ran a small business in what was a rewarding period with renewed trust in government.

        • DaveH

No, Bob, the Unions planted the seed for anti-unionism.
First of all they are immoral (usually) because the only way they can ply their trade is to coerce the companies they work for, and/or coerce the potential replacement workers. I respect your right to join together and walk out. I don’t respect your right to coerce others.
Second of all, when they get their pay raises, or extra benefits, or work rules to protect them from working hard, who do you think pays the bill? Sure the pay comes directly from the company, but then they either raise their prices, move to another country, or go out of business. All those things cause the rest of us to pay more for our goods, so our standard of living decreases while the Unionists’ standard of living increase.
Thirdly, Unions almost always vote for bigger Government. This costs the rest of us money and loss of Freedom.
So you expect the rest of us to not only ignore the morality, but also ignore the extra costs you heap on us?

          • bob wire

Well, union workers should have honored the President command, but only after the President offered them an audience.

To my knowledge, this audience was not offered. And that other Unions failed to stand up and demand due process, shows us how cowardly their leadership at the time truly was, ~ the rest is history.

Most People are gutless when it comes to standing tall for a friend.

If you have such a special friend, honor him today, for he is a rare.

I don’t have such a friend. But at least I know it.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            DaveH,
you are VERY right! When the unions try to circumvent the age old practice of secret ballots so they can bully people into voting the way they want them to, they breed mistrust and down right DISGUST!!!! I would no more trust a union official than the devil himself!!!

    • Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity’

Oh, no you just di’int, pappy!!

Dude…you just went after their spiritual leader, Ronald Reagan.

      That’s like…the ultimate no-no.

Seriously, all the Republican boys and girls grew up watching ‘The Gip’ in movies, and idolizing him…so when he became president, he became their new god. I mean, really…the only thing that could have topped that would be if John Wayne ran for president…and then won.

I mean, going after Baby Bush is one thing – he was just some boob who had a powerful, well-connected daddy…but to go after Reagan…AN ACTOR…??!? Well, that’s just mean. And people don’t tolerate the bad-mouthing of celebrities (who later decide that going into politics would be fun)…not in this country, and not on the tea-baggers’ watch!!

THANKS DAVE: The Intrest is Likly Killer… NEXT QUESTION ! WHO OWES US? How Much??? Collectable?

        • http://?? Joe H.

          Bert,
There is only one nation that has paid their bill owed to the US from WW2!! All of the countries that owe us are still being sent money each and every year!!! So it’s worse than you think!!

          • JIBBS

So what Nation has paid us back ? Germany just finished paying back for WWI a month or two ago.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Jibbs,
Finland was the only one to pay us back completely until 2006 when Britton finally paid the last installment on their WW2 debt. Germany, however, just finished paying off its WW1 debt!!!

      • Bert Cundle

THE IRONY OF THIS IS: THE GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE TO RAISE TAXES. TO PAY THE LOAN FROM S.S.

        • http://deleted Claire

Bert Cundle: Perhaps you are correct, however, some of the politicians want to do away with SS. Who knows what will happen.

          • DaveH

They should do away with Social Security for future generations since it was an Unconstitutional Federal intrusion in the first place.
But in good moral conscience they should pay those who have been trapped into the system already. Don’t believe for a minute that Government couldn’t pay those back who have paid in most of their lives. They could sell those vast land holdings, and other property that opens up as they downsize dramatically, to private parties. They could even offer to exchange property (at the very least) dollar for dollar for the amount that the Government collected from the retirees.
There are many things that Government could do to pay us back the money that they forcibly took from us.
But of course they don’t want to. They would much rather hang on to all that money, property, and power.

          • Bert Cundle

With – out S. S. & Medicare… Our TAXES would be up, 40%, to take care of the Elderly & Ill! The Plan is a Good One!!! They need to take more from the check… Due to inflation!!!

          • Bert Cundle

WORKERS PAYROLE CHECK! Needs to have more taken out for S.S./ Medicare. For inflation!!!
Need to know: Adverage, Life Expenidency( Age @ Death.)
How many people on S.S. @ that Age.
How much $ in the Account?
How much was deposited by each contributer…
Adverage Leingth of life in retirement.
KEEP ANY & ALL THIEVES AWAY FROM THE $!

          • DaveH

            Bert,
Without Social Security people would have had to discipline themselves and prepare for their future instead of relying on Government (which has failed miserably) to do that for them. Our taxes would be down because people would have run their lives more efficiently and government wouldn’t have had the excuse to grow so damn big.

My son would get all kinds of political stuff from a presidential committee – in the mail though – this was when he was still in college – there are so many people with the same name as some of us that I think whomever is searching just picks the first one they see – mailing address or email.

      • http://deleted Claire

libertytrain– I agree with you. I have to laugh but in reality it isn’t funny–my husband and I receive all kinds of mail–from hearing aid companies, the Scooter Store, funeral homes, insurance companies, lawyers, etc. Nothing is private–they all know our names, ages, addresses, health information, etc. In some instances Big Brother has been around for many years.

    • Palin12

Some voters claimed they voted for Angle and the computer printout said Reid. I think there may be a connection.

      • Michael J.

        Palin12,
From what I can deduce, the ghost in the machine was SEIU, who had access to the voting machines. The same thing is probably responsible for Rangel, Pelosi, Boxer and of course Barney Frank’s unlikely victory in spite of numerous naked scandals. The blue dogs who did not enjoy SEIU creative vote counting were thrown to the wolves and left to contend with actual results, which is how Nasty Nancy and Dirty Harry wanted it.

Wow thanks for the laugh us conservatives always have something to say. Your right with facts to back them up not some pie in the sky or ism that has nevered work on the face of the earth. Sorry Karolyn I said a bad word for you progessives WORK

      • Karolyn

You know, “work” has nothing to do with anything I might have to say. Not that I care what you think but I worked my whole life, since the age of 17. Where dop you get off with your insinuations? Just a nasty little tactic some of you have. I do not judge anyone’s life by the amount of work they’ve done or how hard they’ve worked. Some of us are workers and some of us are not. That’s the way it’s been since the beginning of time. Just because someone might work longer or harder than someone else does not make them any better than anbody else.

        • http://deleted Claire

Karolyn— You are only digging a deeper hole for yourself.

          • libertytrain

libertytrain–You are correct. I suspect some of my posts can be interpreted in various ways.

          • libertytrain

I wasn’t referring to you in this – just poor Karolyn.

          • http://deleted Claire

libertytrain–I know. She deserves an “A” for hanging in there.

        • JeffH

K, for someone who doesn’t care what people say, you sure spend a lot of time explaining yourself.

          • Karolyn

Jeff – It just bugs me that so many posters make cracks about handouts and not working when it comes to liberals/progressives. That is just not an accurate picture. That’s why I posted that. But, actually, to me it really doesn’t matter. The holier than though attitude is what really gets to me. The “I worked hard all my life, so I’m better than you” attitude. It is just so not true.

          • http://deleted Claire

Karolyn– I am not holier than thou–neither is anyone else when you think about it. We are human beings, it is not expected of us to think alike. We all want the best for America and all Americans. I have digested quite a bit of material from being on this site for over a year. I like to read everyone’s comments, whether I agree with them or not and I am sure a lot of people do not agree with me. We all have our own opinions, our own way of saying and interpreting things, and because of this, I do not take it personally (at least I try not to). Truth is the main goal and truth hurts sometimes. I am beginning to sound like a preacher, it is not my intent. Sorry.

          • Karolyn

Claire – You are one person I would not identify as being that way. You are always pretty fair with your posts. I’m talking about the posters who have to resort to name calling and other tactics such as the “handout” and “liberals don’t work” thing.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Karolyn,
I can bet you that a very high percent of the welfare recipiants that vote vote liberal progressive!!!

          • Karolyn

Come on Joe! You know they don’t vote! At least none of them around here. They could care less and don’t even take the time to think about it unless prodded.

          • Jana

            Karolyn,
That may be the exception rather than the rule.
I was at the voting station when about 20 men (most of them looked illegal) came in ready to vote. There was quite a stir as an alert had gone out that these men were going from one voting place to another trying to vote. They had even been in another county trying to vote. Why no one called the police I don’t know, but this happened right in front of my eyes.
I didn’t leave until they were gone as I didn’t know what else might happen. These men were NOT happy. They stated that some of the men had already voted in another district. Texas is passing the demand to show your ID before you can vote and I am all for it.

          • Karolyn

Jana – I’m surprised that all states don’t have that law. Here in SC I’ve had to show ID. Also, you have to be on the district list, and they mark you off. Same in NJ.

          • http://deleted Claire

Karolyn– Thanks for saying I am possibly fair, my husband may not agree with you. LOL

          • http://deleted Claire

Same for the Democrats. They better get on the ball. 2012 will be here before we know it.

    • JeffH

Claire, the eyes of America are upon them…every one of them.

      • http://deleted Claire

JeffH– Yes, we will hold them accountable.

      • kate8

JeffH and Claire – I can’t help but wonder if Boehner cries anytime someone talks about the American Dream because he knows that we’ve been sold out. I’m sure the newbies have gotten their debriefing visits by now. I get the feeling that Congress is no more than a show to keep us occupied while the new regime gets firmly entrenched.

        • http://deleted Claire

kate8–I would really like to think that things will be better, but there is a part of me that does not think it will happen. I sincerely hope and pray I am wrong. I really don’t like the negativity that I harbor against politicians.

        • wayne

Kate8, that is why it is going to be very important to watch what they do in the next two years. If they don’t do their job, let’s fire them, whether it is a Republican, or Democrat, We owe this to the future generation.

          • kate8

Am I the only one who things it’s just a bit weird how this seasoned politician gets all choked up whenever he talks about America? To the point of nearly sobbing? Sorry, but I just doubt that he’s simply the maudlin type.

I have nothing against feelings, but it just seems odd to me. Like he knows what’s afoot and what we are losing.

I also remember the video of someone in Congress reading the planned protocol for a coming major disaster.

Call me what you will, but I’m just getting a strange feeling and putting 2 and 2 together.

          • http://deleted Claire

kate8—I agree with you 100%. It is weird. Mental stability? I have wondered about him many times. I don’t feel comfortable with the crying jags.

After reading these comments it seems to me there is a constant thread of mistrust and misuse of taxpayers money. We want this guy out of office, it is our Constitutional right if WE as Americans do not approve of his ideaology for our country, WE CAN IMPEACH!!!!!

We should be screaming from the roof tops, this administration is on a mission to destroy this country!!!!!

All of our represenatives should be on SS just like us and we need term limits. We need to be very involved and make our voices heard. NO MORE SPENDING!!!!! NO MORE AIDE TO THE UN- KICK THEM OUT NOW.
We have enough of our own corruption, why are we financing the CORRUPT UN!!!! TELL CONGRESS WE EXPECT THEM TO LISTEN TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OR GET OUT OF OFFICE, THAT IS THEIR JOB, WE RUN THE GOVERNMENT!!!!!!WE RUN OUR COUNTRY AND WE BALANCE OUR BUDGETS!!!!

Did any of you ever hear of the Federal Reserve, it’s history and how it relates to our country and the world today or is it only Obama that you give credence to being the cause of all that ha occured since the 1600′s and of late, 1910 on Jekyll Island.

You give the the president to much credit.

    • Searcher

Actually, I give Obama no more credit than I give the rest of the corrupt politicians, whether they have a “R” or a “D” by their name. They should all be tried for crimes against the American people.

Libertytrain – Justices Scalia and Thomas. I think they are the real deal.

          • JeffH

            How about Alito.

          • libertytrain

Jeff – he certainly has an interesting background.

          • JeffH

libertytrain, it looks as if the Cato Institute identifies him as a conservative with libertarian leanings. He’s definately one of the “good guys” along with Scalia and Thomas I think.

          • kate8

JeffH – I don’t know enough about Alito to make a call. I hope he’s a good guy.

Justice Roberts was the one who met with Obama and his goons the night before the BC case was scheduled, and by morning it had disappeared from the court docket.

Jeff, I agree with these possibilities but I’m still more partial to Scalia :)

While the UnCredentialed was mouth more half truths and platitudes he managed to plagagarize, his slight of hand was working overtime to cur off the truth at the pass. I wouldn’t let this guy put a screw in my sh** house if he paid me to do it.

Barry and the boys he employs are always scheming to make another ulerior move with each sentence. His referal to the ear cancelations and vetoes was a insincere as all the rest of his speech, he had already decised that he would be allowing another trillion dollar spending ceiling, only he forgot to tell anyone but the Deemers. Nothing Barry says passes muster there is always a catch, a way around or the deed has already been done.

His trip to Hawaii was to shut Abercrombie up and black mail Evans about his BC. That part about him being a “Proud American”, all pure crap, it was a precedent to scam his way through to his second attempt for another term vitally needed to cover his butt, just like Clinton had to. One he sets up the immigration law to forego the law of legality and second he has a forgery made to give him a BC to circumvent the states asking for proof of eligibiity. Barry does not want those restraints removed from his records for any reason, they will get him hanged and he is very much aware of that. He is after all the mystery man taken on faith, nothing else.

Since I am in ag, the SB 510 is going to give more control over anyone producing food.Since Dingy Harry took a House Bill and put most of it in the Food Bill we get more federal regulatory agents to check everywhere anything called food production and other areas like transportation, processing plants of anything. So between the rinos and dumbocraps food costs will never level off or be static untill government food production is the norm. Think we can add another tag to the Soros Socialist Democrat Liar Party Pukes. People of conscience just wonder how any pus brained democrat can be proud of claiming to support a Soros moneied organization that is striving to destroy the USA.

    • Ret

You can also thank Big Brother Monsanto for that too. I just can’t figure out when we elected them, Soros, big pharma, illegal aliens, etc to run our government.

  • Another Voice

If the congress would have enough sense to stop funding the wars, we’d be able to manage without raising the debt ceiling.

  • Raggs

I just wonder if or when the US will go the way of Europe?

I see that the countries around the globe are begging obama to step in and “SAVE” them.

From a biblical standpoint I can see what that means…

  • John Degges

I do not remember how long ago (fifty years?) it is since I realized that setting a ceiling on the debt is absolutely meaningless if the same people who set the limit are allowed to raise it when their spending gets out of hand. Now, if I could live in the same way….

  • cat

The Debt ceiling should not be raised. I would personally like to see America file bankruptcy. Then we can reorganize how our tax dollars are being spent. We will be able to put a halt to anymore of our Tax Dollars going out of this country on the bad deals the congress and senate have made that are not in the best interest of the American People. We will be able to cut the Federal Government positions of the top $ earnings of the congress members and senators. They say they will cut federal employees. They demonize the postal workers and the public service workers police firefighters, teacher’s nurses. And have us going against our own neighbors those who live next door to us. But when they lose their jobs they lose there houses and our property values go down. So you see when we fall for their lying tricks the joke is on us. And We the People are the no better for it. How is the postal workers pay of about 50 thousand a year greater than the executive staff whose pay is almost 200 thousand? There is where the federal government jobs need to be cut and as for the lower level jobs we can grow them it is only to We the peoples benefit when our economy can sustain. Now it the likes of Colburn or some other loses their job they have still their houses they are already rich

    • wayne

We need to get rid of those idiots in Congress. I blame both, the Democrats and the Republican for the mess were in. This has been going on now for 30 years, or more. However, I think the Democrats are worse than the Republican for running up this huge debt. The question is; how are we going to get the word out to educate the majority of the Amerian People, to understand what is going on, and to vote against their irresponsible representatives from their district? This is the $64,000 question.

    • wayne

I would like to make a correction: Yesterday, I said our country just gave Egypt around $6,000,000,000. It was a little over a billion dollars, instead. When we are in debt over $14,000,000,000,000, why would we borrow money to give to other countries? This country most be in dire need of friends. Two main things I don’t understand. #1) How do you get out of debt by borrowing more money? It never worked for me. #2) Would you borrow money, and give it to a neighbor and let you own family do without. This is exactly what this country is doing, and the Liberals on this forum are are backing this crap. This does not make any sense to me. Would some of you Liberals explain this, so I can understand it?

      • JIBBS

What about the 2 billion that they want to give Hugo Chavez to drill for oil ??

  • http://deleted Claire

It sure didn’t take long for the state of Illinois to institute their tax increase. Officially today, my paycheck was close to $100 less, and I am paid twice a month. My son makes a lot more than I do, and he is going to get hammered. Wonder what the good old boys are going to do with the money? Wonder who/what they are going to pay off first? Wonder how things will be in one year, two years? I am not taking any bets that the situation will be better.

I’ll never go back, not for anything (except family, their still blind) Taxe’s are cheap, as is gas, lic. plates, food and land/houses, 10 acres and a 3500 sq. ft. house- 130,000, less than $800.00 a year. The weather is warmer people are a lot nicer….I still have not had the one finger salute, and they do not cater to illegals. and NO TRAFFIC JAMS !!!

      • http://deleted Claire

JIBBS– Sounds wonderful. I am sincerely happy for you. My husband and I should have moved out years ago. Now we are older (70s), my husband’s health is not good, and I do not want to be far from a hospital/doctors. As much as I would like to leave, a move would not be feasible at this time. We waited too long. There is a lot of truth in “do it while you are young.” Plus the fact we do not necessarily want to move away from our kids. My son would love to leave too but he has a really good job, and so does my daughter. Good paying jobs are hard to find.
I would like to ask: What are your thoughts on Claire McKaskell? I may not have her last name spelled correctly.

        • JIBBS

McKaskill in not too bad, I think she gets it that she needs to do the right thing or she will be packing in 2012, the hospital is 6 miles away and MSU hospital is 20 miles and you can sign up direct foe air e-vac that will have you there is less than 8 minutes.

          • http://deleted Claire

JIBBS–Your information sounds good, dang good. I am still working and I make good money, I need the money since it is expensive to show my dogs. I and another lady from Florida campaigned our female last year, and that was not cheap. I still work-make good money–I don’t quite want to give it up just yet. At my age I could not get another job like it. We shall see what this year brings.

          • http://deleted Claire

JIBBS– I have friends (dog show people) that are staunch Republican, they voted for McKaskell so obviously they like her, and I was surprised. Just curious.

Claire, You are NEVER too old! I know a woman who moved here to SC from Jersey 2 years ago by herself at 82 with no family. I’ve always been a risk taker because I have always felt I don’t want to be on my deathbed thinking “I wish I had……” Speaking of old and death, a recent assignment for one of my classes had me reading an article about the possibility of people living to be well into the 100s. There’s still plenty of time left to go for it! Whatever “it” is. :-)

Raggs – Short and to the point.

I saw a program today on various prophecies. One of them was about how Russia would fall under great evil, and would spread this evil around the world.

Obama is part of this evil, and has ties to the Soviets.

  • twocolts

Obama is more than evil, he is an ‘Obamination ‘. It has taken this long for any action or words that challenge the imposter/wrecking-ball of America. I won’t hold my breath that the ‘action ‘, will hold any consequence that will impact the damage already done by the dictator. Most of the Republican Party does not have the balls to follow through with serious opposition, it looks like Conservative women ( Tea Party ), now possess the balls instead.

  • REJ

Raise the debt ceiling in exchange for ending the fed and repealing Bamster Care!!!!!!

    • June

REJ-Not only NO, but HELL NO – -absolutely DO NOT raise the debt ceiling; what Congress needs to do, RIGHT NOW, is cut ALL spending BACK TO 2006 limits and FREEZE it right there – -for the next 5 years (period).

  • chuckb

twocolts, you have it right in my thinking. that’s why i have supported sarah palin and the likes of michele bakhmann, they have more bravado than any of the republican men and will stand the line. in my eyes they are the only way we can win. hopefully the tea party will continue to back them, the tea party is our only hope for reform, don’t expect the repubs to do anything other than try to protect their position. if barry looks at them hard they will run for cover. they will always make a losing deal with pelousie and reid.

we are in for tough times. today the talking heads on fox are laying the grounds for the oil companies to raise gas prices by reporting the egyptian riots are going to interfere with oil shipments thru the suez canal. this is all the commoddities market needs to drive prices higher, energy drives our market and the oil companies have no heart when it comes to the dollar. these increases will drive food prices higher and most everything you will be buying. so goes the dollar.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      chuckb,
the answer to Suez is drill here, sell here!!! Get rid of the greenies!!

      • wayne

We not only need to drill for more oil, Joe H, we also need to build more nuclear power plants, build more gas refineries and dig more coal. France has 80 percent of their power coming from nuclear power plants. One of these days we will not be able to get more oil from OPEC. We will be caught with our pants down around our ankles. With all the uprisings over in Yemen, Greece, Egypt and other areas, it is just a matter of time. I wonder what the LIbs will do, or say, when they are unable to drive their cars, or get enough energy to heat their homes? We need to elect a president and Congress that will permit this to happen. We need to limit the powers of the EPA. Obama has given the EPA more power than ever. We need to rid ourselves of this president, and 3/4 of Congress. We could do this if the people would all get behind the grass roots folks who are trying to do something about it. It is a shame that more folks can’t see that things needs changed in the country. It will just be a matter of time they will have to wake up, or they will go hungry, and be cold. Obama’s push for more wind and solar energy will not be enough to sustain us in our energy needs. Let’s get rid of these idiots running our government.

        • http://?? Joe H.

          Wayne,
I,m thinking very seriously of going to solar on my house. I have information on one for just under 7000 dollars that would run a 2000 square ft home. That would almost do it for my home as counting the basement I have about 2400 sq ft. At that rate, it would pay for itself in five years or less. Plus you can deduct 30% up to a certain amount from your taxes.

          • http://deleted Claire

JoeH– Have you heard of the Hirsch Report 2005—about the “peaking” of the worldwide oil supply? Plus the contaminants that are showing up in our drinking water that treatment plants cannot take care of because they are not properly equipped? I just watched a documentary about these issues. Scary.

          • kate8

JoeH – I am interested in getting off the grid also.

I have friends who have a big solar set-up, and has been off the grid for many years. They have all the same conveniences as everyone else, and no power bills.

The thing I wonder about is the lack of sunshine these days. They chemtrails have been so thick here, especially this time of year, that we rarely see the sun. Where I live, it used to ALWAYS be sunny, except when a storm blew through.

I’m interested in anyone who knows anything about the magnetic generators, which apparently are based on Tesla’s work. They require no fuel or sun, so they can be used even where there is little sunshine.

          • JIBBS

I looked at solar also, but what about cloudy days, and the damage that hail can do to it. I looked wind power and it seems to be a exchange over solar, and you can still get the 30% rebate from the feds plus what ever your state gives you. You may want to check that out. southwestwindpower.com

          • wayne

Joe H., I feel we should do what I have mentioned above until we can get what your talking about perfected. I am not against solar and wind power, but is it going to be enough to supply our energy needs? I think we would all like to have a nice clean environment, but not at the expense of people losing heir jobs and not being able to feed their family. I just wonder if the use of oil and coal is a bad as they claim it is. Look at Al Gore and his global warming theory. I just heard a climatologist on TV the other day talking about this. He claims that the climate has cooled 1 degree over the last 10 years. He further stated that, in his opinion, this would continue over the next 20 to 30 years. He advised that the weather is cyclic. Look at the weather last year, and this year, especially along the East Coast. They have had more snow then they have ever had for years. So! until they can get this wind and solar perfected to be dependable, I say let’s drill, build nuclear power plants, and what ever else we need to do to get independence from the enemies from whom we buy our oil. If something would happen today over in the oil producing countries, they could cut off our oil supply, and further cripple our economy. I never want to see this happen. This has been a concern of ine over several years.

          • Karolyn

I recently read a good article in Scientific American that included info about companies leasing solar units. It also talks about upper atmosphere wind along with many other possibilities for the future.
            http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=world-changing-ideas

          • http://?? Joe H.

Jibbs,I’m not doing this for the enviroment, I’m doing it because Nobummer and others are going to make it too damn expensive to live!! If they have their way, we are going to have to make the choice between food or heat!!
I’ve been told that you can install a plexiglass sheild over the collector to overcome the problem of hail. I’m not sure.

  • June

Chip-There are a number of other “lying liars” you didn’t mention, but the list is quite long, so I won’t do that here; all of us know who they are anyway. I just want all of them arrested and tried for treason and dealt with accordingly – -and the sooner the better.

I`l give them a few. They are,Van Jones, Andy Stern, Cass Sestein, Sal Alansky, Valerie Jarett, Jeff Jones, Anita Dunn, Bill Ayers,George Soros, John Pedesta, Rev Wright. Some of these are just
friends he did not hire, but play a pivitble role in his life. Some organizations, Acorn, Seiu, Move on. org,George Soros, The Huffington Post,Organizing For America > George Soros The List goes on and on.
Of course the Progressives (No longer Called The Democrat Party) would never check these Groups, or people out because they are so much in LOVE with Obama. If they did find the truth, their heads probley would explod It`s a lot eaiser to believe Obama, than to take the time to find out what these people and groups really stand for.

Charles, what a great way to explain it. No! the Liberals will never check out the background of these people as they are afraid of what they might find. All done in the name of saving a child

“The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation.

“I will cram the truth down any honest man’s throat, until he cannot deny it, and I will cram the lie down his throat till he shall cry enough! It is preposterous – it is the most damnable effrontery that man ever put on to conceal a scheme to defraud and cheat the people out of their rights, and then claim credit for it.”
Senator Lyman Trumbull co-author of the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution

    • kate8

JeffH – Great quotes. And I really appreciate Rabbi Lapin.

Over the years, everytime I had to hear a Progressive politician use the words, “We must do this FOR THE CHILDREN”, I’d feel like gagging. Talk about lies.

It’s amazing how so many fall for this kind of talk hook, line and sinker.

      • JeffH

kate8, just another “means to an end”…using emotion as a tool!

      • JeffH

Kate8, how about this…Pelosi addressed the House for the first time as Speaker surrounded by children. As the votes were tabulated, she held an infant in her arms. She looked the picture image of the affectionate grandmother. She ended her speech with these (somewhat) immortal words: “For these children, our children, and for all of America’s children, the House will come to order.”

ABC This Week: Nancy Pelosi defends money for Family Planning in Stimulus Bill
My, how time has tempered those words. Recently, Pelosi faced widespread criticism for saying that boosted federal funding for family planning services (i.e., contraception and abortion) would stimulate the economy. Her subtext was that children imperil our prosperity. Rather than see kids as an investment in the future, Pelosi suggested they are a net economic drain.

A baby is God’s promise the world will go on. Babies actually stimulate the economy. Ask any parent.

          • Denniso

So now Jeff and Kate are against children as well as most other things in the country. If Dems/liberals/progressives are in favor of doing things for the good of children, who are the only future we have,
then Jeff and Kate and other reactionaries have to be opposed for the sake of not agreeing w/ anything that Dems support. Crazy…

          • DaveH

Hearing Kate and Jeff speak — Precious.

Hearing Denniso speak — Priceless. He is the best asset we have in our efforts to expose the Liberals for what they really are.

          • JeffH

DaveH, you realize we speak a different dialect than the liberals.
I thought it was pretty clear what the intent of the message was and it had nothing to do with hating children, at least by kate8 and I.

          • DaveH

Yeah, I don’t know if he was purposely lying or he just can’t read.

          • JeffH

DaveH, he’s been out of control for as long as I’ve been around. A liberal is a liberal but this guy is so far left he’s completed the link of a genuine extremist extroardinaire and a veritable hate monger.

          • kate8

Jeff and Dave – Denniso is a perfect example of those who fall for the lies. It takes a true believer to be unable to see through the absolutely contrived rhetoric and photo-ops.

          • Denniso

“The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people.” Adolf Hitler

“As long as government is perceived as working for the benefit of children, the people happily will endure almost any curtailment of liberty.” =Rabbi Daniel Lapin

The greatest of tyrants have been perceived by the people as friends of the children. Hitler is but one example.

So, by your great powers of discernment, anytime a ‘liberal’ uses ‘children’ or ‘for the children’ in a speech they are invoking the tactics of Hitler…you guys/girls are so clueless that you don’t even know that it was the rightwing who started that sort of talk. Look up Frank Lunz, the ‘conservative’ master at using language to mold public opinion.

Got to keep the loonies on the path
The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more

You sure use a lot of doublespeak Denniso. That’s all you’re doing here. Digging an empty hole.

Frank Luntz? The “Instant Response” focus group technique pioneered by Frank has been profiled on 60 Minutes, Good Morning America (on Election Day 2008) and on the award-winning PBS show Frontline. He has been a guest on virtually every talk show in America, including Meet the Press, Nightline, The Today Show, Charlie Rose, The Jim Lehrer News Hour, The O’Reilly Factor, Tavis Smiley, Montel Williams, and Hardball. He also served as a consultant to the award-winning NBC hit show “The West Wing.”

Frank has conducted focus group sessions for all three major television networks, two of the three cable news channels, PBS and the BBC, as well as for The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, The New Yorker, and U.S. News & World Report.

Here’s what your man Obama had to say about Frank Luntz.
” His focus groups have become so influential that presidential candidate Barack Obama had this to say following the PBS presidential debate, “When Frank Luntz invites you to talk to his focus group, you talk to his focus group.”

On the other hand, he probably just jumps on every opportuinity to twist and distort anything we say. Hate-monger is an appropriate description.

Onumnutts spending deficet plan is a sham, the biggest deficets are between his jug ears and his telepromtor speeches. Dennesio, your polyester witch, Hillary thinks and espouses, it takes a village to raise a child. Sounf like more Soros Socialist bildge. It has always been a father and mother job to raise their own children, the government is supposed to stay the hell out of the family. But when FDR, then LBJ, all all the other feel good idoits approved of the breeding programs for minorities and dumb azzes democrap white voters, it now takes all taxpayers to raise and support the slubs flat backing, beign couch lizards, and drug dealers. Go to any welfare housing units and see the oreaos and crossbred youngester running about, ask the mothers if they know where the fathers are or what uncle the kid likes best and who is picking up the freight?

Thank you, Patrick H.T.Paine, for making our day. I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair. You proved that we can be idiots when it comes to the IRS.

When you tell the truth, it is easy to remember. Obama is having difficulty remembering what he said now that he is making a 180 degree turn on a number of issues. His solution is to print more money. What sort of economics did they teach him at Harvard? He has given that institution a bad name as much as some other Politicos have done. I have no respect for the institution. I quess they don’t teach math very well. Basics are not that complicated when it comes to income and spending.

Oh,yes! on the 3/3, 2/3 and 1/3 comments made: answer, it’s the 1/3 population of illegals sending their money to their native country.
1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3=’s 3/3′s. See? And I didn’t go to Harvard. Now you know why there is never enough money to pay for others who don’t have money to pay for their share of health care and their anchor babies.

  • Benjamin Merrill

HAHAHAHAHA!! You are kidding aren’t you? What a joke you are!

  • Dr. smith

isn’t this analogous to telling your credit card company that they need to extend the credit limit on your card, despite the fact fact you’ve overcharged what you can’t afford to pay for; then threating the credit card company with default if they don’t raise the credit limit?

does this make any sense? Sounds like a spending addiction.

The people on this blog have soup for brans! None of you could debate this swill in public without getting your hats handed to you …. by the facts! Un-paid for Wars, borrowed with interest, tax cuts for the wealthiest 1%..again un-paid for…..borrowing…and spending ( which is worse than tax and spend ) is what got us here! …from a budget surplus by the Dems to a Recession by the Republicans….thats the facts! Now were out of the great recession because of the Dems stimulus and paying 1950′s tax rates (paid for by stimulus funds)…and Repugs kept doing the same old dance of spending and not paying for large projects and tax cuts adding to deficits! Either learn something that even Reagan and Nixon knew and used or just shut up! Insanity is dangerous! The whole world got out of the last 7 recessions using only one technique…Stimulate ….start the engine….then pay down the debt….after you get the car racing again!

IF YOU DON’T KNOW THIS TRUTH …THEN YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF EVER UNDERSTANDING….ANYTHING! and you can’t claim Reagan as your hero ever again!

  • Elmo

Chip, you are an idiot. You really don’t understand economics or history, do you. You’re one of the people who believe they are entitled to everything without having to pay for anything. You don’t want to pay taxes, then you complain when the government doesn’t do anything to help you when you need it.

First, the “debt crisis” rebublicans refer to was primarily caused by Republicans. They are the ones who ushered in the two Bush tax cuts and decided not to pay for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was the Republican ideology favoring deregulation and lax government oversight of the financial sector that allowed the Great Recession and the financial crisis to happen. The economy consequently fell apart on Bush’s watch, killing millions of jobs and causing Bush’s baseline $600 billion in annual deficits to soar to $1.4 trillion.

Second, stimulus spending saved millions of jobs; cutting spending drastically at this point in time will kill millions of jobs, just as any drastic tax increase on the middle class will.

Third, the debt ceiling was raised 29 times without incident under Reagan, Bush, and Bush. The percentage increase in the national debt was much higher under Reagan and Bush Sr. than it is now. Congress needs to raise the debt ceiling to accommodate the spending it has already enacted. To fail to do so would be in violation of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.
