An Incredibly Convenient Sale

An Incredibly Convenient Sale
UPI FILE
Al Gore stands to make some $70 million from the sale of Current TV.

If a greater living liberal than Al Gore exists, I would dearly love to meet him. The scion of an exceptionally wealthy Tennessee clan that built a king’s fortune on tobacco and racism, Gore took the prodigious wealth bestowed upon him and used it to construct an empire. Between his inheritance, the money he made from pseudoscientific screeds like the book Earth in the Balance and the sci-fi slideshow “An Inconvenient Truth,” Gore has salted away a pile large enough to fuel his private jet, heat his multiple homes and send his progeny to the finest schools. But forget about his time as a U.S. Senator.  Forget about his complicity in the various crimes of the Clinton Administration. Forget even about his subzero treatment of his ex-wife. Hell, forget about those allegations that he relates to massage therapists the way his old boss Bubba Clinton relates to chubby interns. Focus on Gore, the liberal icon, Democratic hero and super-capitalist.

With the impending sale of his failed hate-speech outlet, Current TV, to terrorist-linked Al-Jazeera, Gore has transcended the usual hypocrisy that defines modern liberalism to become its living god. He will personally make somewhere in the neighborhood of $70 million by signing over a cable outlet that struggled against more intellectually stimulating content such as “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” And Al-Jazeera, which is owned by the government of the nation of Qatar, floats on a sea of the same oil against which Gore has railed for the better part of the generation generously augmented by Gore’s own prolific fertility. (Despite his efforts to convince brown people to stop reproducing, Gore has extended his own lineage by a factor of four.)

A man who may well be the biggest hypocrite in recorded human history — no small feat against the competition afforded by not only American liberals but the various and sundry dictators who live like emperors on the backs of oppressed populations from North Korea and China to Venezuela and Cuba — will bank eight figures from the oil barons in the Mideast. Already wildly wealthy, Gore has sold a vanity project with all the journalistic credibility of VH-1 to guys who were probably wiping the crude off their hands when they shook on the deal.

And (insert liberal-approved deity here) bless Gore for the effort. I’m a conservative. If Gore can turn a lifelong crusade on behalf of the biggest scientific fraud of the modern age into a nearly 10-figure personal fortune, then I say: “Ditch the ball and chain and the rug rats, stride proudly out of whichever of your palaces in which you’re lounging, jump in that SUV, tell that chauffeur to drive you to the airport, board that private jet, fly to the nearest tax-haven tropical island, check into the Global Warming Suite at the Ritz and start pawing the masseuses, Albert!” I don’t blame Gore for making a few hundred million bucks off liberal gullibility — even if he blames me for trying to make a few bucks of my own.

And look who he sold out to. Al-Jazeera, aka the al-Qaida Channel, floats on sea of oil money. While Gore and his shrieking sideshow clowns have repeated laughable Democratic conspiracy theories about some so-called “war on women,” the new owners of the network have proudly campaigned against women doing anything but cooking and bearing children. While Gore and his merry band of idiots have imagined a conservative lack of tolerance, the new owners support programming that includes a weekly host who proclaims the Holocaust “divine punishment” for the Jews. Despite all that, liberals nationwide are lining up to offer their endorsement to what is about to be Al-Jazeera America. I can’t decide if their sudden love of a network that shows al-Qaida recruiting videos stems from their usual “America last” attitude or a desire to let Gore off the hook. But, hey, at least he didn’t sell to that bastard Glenn Beck.

Global warming is dead, buried under the weight of data falsified by its primary perpetrators and titles that change — by necessity — more often than Hollywood freaks change their designer clothes. Perhaps now is as good a time as any to cash out before Gore’s Democratic accomplices finish destroying the economy. After all, that’s what Gore did.

    Excellent Ben excellent.

I wonder if the sale comes complete with a “blame booosh manual”?

      • Robert Smith

Actually I’m surprised that Gore isn’t being cheered as a great capitalist on this site.

Instead of contriving some paper instrument to rip folks off with he created a product with dedicated people building it. He sold that product for a lot of money without ripping anyone off.

He created wealth the honest way without stealing it from the middle class.

You should be treating him as a hero.

        Rob

      • Doc Sarvis

Robert Smith, well done. My thoughts exactly.

      • Cliffystones

        Hey Smitty,

a “great capitalist” would have sold the network to Glenn Beck. He was the highest bidder. But why let capitalism get in the way of faux ideology?

      • Robert Smith

        Hey Cliffy… Don’t believe you.

Without a $ amount and a citation that says “Glen Beck bid this” your claim is just that… Something that looks like you made it up.

Come up with some numbers and you might be believed.

        Rob

Would they (you) be beating up on Glenn Beck if he had bought it Cliffy

Robert, don’t forget that this site is very heavily peppered with Libertarians who also see corporatism, especially under the guise of the green movement as detestable.

And I wonder how the good Reverend Al and his Church of Global Warming Alarmists are doing with the Chicago Carbon Exchange? Now there’s a license to print money….

      • Wil

Yes,Robert, admittedly, that is very rare for a liberal.Even more extreme,he managed it without billions in subsidies. Might make a decent conservative if not for all the liberal hypocrisy he supports.

    • eddie47d

I love it “tobacco and racism”! Is that a kissing cousin to “cotton and racism” ?

      • Nobody’s Fool

I love it!! Robert Smith, Doc Sarvis, and eddie47d, the Three Communist Stooges, all replied right in a row. Showed their stupidity, too, as usual.

      • eddie47d

        Who are you FOOLing NOBODY!

  • REVERE

Article is Right on re. Al Gore the Liberal Whore.

    • eddie47d

If that’s true then Donald Trump is a Conservative “whore” who sells his soul to the highest bidders in the gambling world! Trump is one of the cheesiest carpetbaggers and Barnum and Baily salesman our country has known. Maybe Gore and Trump could go out on a roadshow together!

      • Doc Sarvis

Gore has better hair than Trump.

      • Robert Smith

Well Donald Trump did say that if Obama won there’d be hell toupee.

I’ve seen the pictures. Trump was right… Worst toupee ever.

No, more of an MSNBC bias. Maybe they’ll hire Rachael Maddow and cover her with a burka?

Where is the bias? Please explain to me intelligently?

This is the moron who wanted to be our president. His own X wife thought he is NUTS. He needs to be stopped. He is making millions on worthless projects and this administration is letting him get by with it, He belongs in prison for STEALING from us. Someone with a brain in DC needs to take this nut on, strip him of illegal earnigs and put him in prison and throw away the key. He is a menace to society.

    • Paul Wells

Sorry…all politicos in DC have been examined….not a brain in the lot of them!

      • Robert Smith

Tune to CNN for the coverage of the brain eating zombies attacking Washington. They all starved to death.

      • robb

Yes the list goes on and on….Obama, Pelosi, Reid, both Clintons, Emmanuel, Kerry, and gun runner Holder….we can’t forget all of those prominent stars.

      • Meteorlady

Oh plezzz…. every time someone says something bad about a liberal someone brings up Bush/Chaney. THEY ARE GONE! Bush at least has the good grace to not comment on politics or make personal attacks. He also hosts picnics for wounded warriors at his Texas ranch without regard to news coverage.

So have the war ended. Have drone strikes killed women and children. Since when do we execute a person without a trial in this country?

MOST ALL THE POLITICIANS in the two party system are somewhat corrupt or entirely corrupt. So take a side, but either way you are with the fools that support the two party system.

an excellent example of why the gop has a shrinking base and losing elections. gore is no worse than the average political crook. nor any more corrupt.
you could insert a variety of names, both republican and democrat, and had the same little rant.

    • Paul Wells

      r b,
Yours is an excellent example of why this country will never again be a world power. You think … “no worse than the average political crook”, and don’t even realize your equivocation is the problem! Identify and throw out ALL of the crooks..Gore is no exception. Your whole deal revolves around lowered expectations, and corruptness is being the norm, then you wonder why Congress is so crooked, and nothing gets done. You are the sheeple, and welcome to Amerika!

    • http://yahoo jeff

r.b. you hit the nail right on the head. Our pols from the local lecel right trough Washington, for the most part are scum….

      • http://yahoo jeff

my spelling is terrible this am. level, through

    • Meteorlady

No they have a shrinking base because the Democrats have systematically purchased voters since LBJ learned how it was done. For your information, I am shutting my business down by the end of this year. I have chosen to stop working for a government that believes I’m evil because I can make money. I refuse to work to support druggies, bums and welfare rats that could work, but won’t.

I refuse most of all to pay additional taxes because my business makes over $400,000 per year. I have given up on the American dream because it does not work anymore. The more I make the more they take. I cannot expand, I cannot freely work as I want and cannot give my people good health care without them being taxed. I REFUSE to work anymore to support this form of government.

I will spend my time working for charities like Habitat where we teach people to help themselves and give them a leg up. I will not work for a government that takes my money by force and gives it to the dregs of society so they can continue to suck the life blood out of my business.

  • http://uncleteddysreeducationcamp.com teddy maher

Great piece Ben ….. Do think we could get O’Rielly or Hannidy to air it …. after all they are both passionate conservatives…

    • Nadzieja Batki

Except they are not Conservatives unless the definition of Conservatism has changed.

      • Robert Smith

Oh that’s right… Conservatives are like christians in that each thinks they are the true and only who so deserve the title. Any difference and someone is going to h3ll.

        Good luck with that.

        Rob

      • Wil

Robert,at least you seem to understand one side of the problem, but fact is we have two extremes that no longer have the tolerance or mutual respect to ‘agree to disagree’ and move on. And as others have said here,if you are supporting the Democrats, you’re still just part of the problem.

  • robb

I would normally post as rb here but am changing my screen name as there seems to someone else using those initials to post nonsense. You are correct Paul. Rb’s comment is an excellent example of why we will never again be a world power. Oh well he’s no more crooked than anyone else is a crappy answer to the problem. Throw the bums out and take our country back is a better one. If people like rb would stop eating the crap sandwich candy coated and being packaged as good food there may be some hope. Al Gore is a crap sandwich. No better than the usual prostitute he just makes more money. But since he’s a liberal he can do that. At least Romney made his money instead of inheriting it from the money made off tabacco, and slaves. Now he’s accepting millions from terrorists and oil countries. What’s next for Al. Opening a brothel in Thailand to traffic little girls? Of course if he said he was raising money to fight global warming with the brothel money it would be OK.

    • eddie47d

Robb ; Now I thought all of you believed in the Free Enterprise System and anyone could make their money anyway they wanted too! I thought the Banksters could swindle anyone they wanted to because it would be the fault of the gullible fools who bought into their mortgage schemes. I thought the traders on Wall Street are just lucky guys who happen to in the right place at the right time. Win lose or draw thy still end up winning because of our famous easy going Capitalistic system. It cost too much to prosecute these financial henchmen so their gamble is worth it. Glad you brought up Mitt Romney who torched many companies to gain his ill gotten gains. Different than Al Gore? Not a chance and yes “he and his buddies” also got “filthy rich on the backs of mind numbed robots”

      • Meteorlady

What companies Eddie? Please list them and then tell me how he personally “tourched” them? they were already struggling companies when his firm took them over. Some were AFTER He left the firm.

If I was Mitt I would have ran as a PROUD capitalist, instead of not addressing exactly how I made my money. Used to be in this country if you excelled and achieved you were looked up to. Now we are the hated “rich” and we have to give give give until we are finished.

I choose to shut my business down and stop working. That’s the result of your social experimentation. The producers are walking away because there is no incentive to continue anymore.

    • Tim L.

      Yea Robb, Romney’s a Saint.

  • Bill

Al Gore is a good example of what is really going on in the global warming movement. It is all about the money.

Him and his select few buddies will become filthy rich on the backs of the mind numbed robots that have been programed to believe they are saving the world.

    • Meteorlady

Al Gore and a number of his “friends” bought into the Chicago Climate Exchange and then started pushing for carbon trading. Obama bailed out a small minority bank that did not qualify for a bailout, but got one, and they are slated to process the money from the exchange floor. Guess how is slated to run the exchange floor? Goldman-Sachs.

Before that Al Gore was heavily invested in the exchanges in Europe until most European countries found that energy prices were going up at an alarming rate. When they started to scale back on the carbon credit scheme, Al sold his interests and made a lot of money.

This hype will go on and on. If the exchange every fully become operations Al stands to make about $8 BIL per year. Shore Bank will make another few billion and Goldman-Sachs will exceed even those figures.

  • ibcamn

Gore lies as much as Obama does, has everybody forgot about CCX that they were involved in??that scam company that sold air!!a few others were involved with it to(George Soroes also)as soon as they were found out they sold out and buried it!hello,SCAM!or Obama using tax payer money to sell all his book(Marxist-progressive-liberal writings)to put in schools(because no one wanted it).Gore fudging(lie) numbers to make global warming seem real!both being hypicrites of Nobel prizes!wake up,we knew he was involved with the enemy already!code pink ring any bells?union linked al-jeerze?and isn’t CNN a big big fan of al-jeerze tv and all those channels?i believe i saw CNN and all them trying to get people to buy a cable channel package of them together!!Gore is scarier than leather face man!

    • http://Google Richard

First of all, let me lay my cards down. I have no use for Al Gore. I have even less use for George Bush. And somewhere there is a prison cell with Dick Cheney’s name on it.
So what about Al-Jazeera? As I understand it, Middle Eastern version goes soft on terrorism. On the other hand, the English version is about as insipid as the average nightly news of any major network. Perhaps one should watch it before condemning it.
As a closer, I suggest that everyone would do well to read the First Amendment before tying a knot in their hanging rope. You know the one — about freedom of the press or something like that. Toss that ot and the terorists have won.

      • John Woodbury

Right Richard, and some where is a country that President Obama is a citizen of… it is just not USA; even if you give him a pass on the BC problem.

  • Benton Bain

Gore needs to be tried for laundering terrorist money!!!

  • jopa

This is great as long as he puts his money in American banks and not invest everywhere but here like the Mutt Romney did.Qatar is our greatest ally in the Mideast why all the attacks on them. The most ant American outlet is what’s called Fox news. They continuously attack our President even while we are at war and that is actually treason giving comfort and aid to the enemy. All their sponsors and viewers should be deported immediately for such anti American activity.

    • cawmun cents

      “They continously attack our president”(paraphrased)
Do you mean like you attacked George Bush?
You must have a short memory, because I remember how the left attacked Bush.
But that is okay, right?(double standard in play)
Not that I think President Bush was a great leader by the way,but you were always among those who rabidly attacked him.
Yet you are offended when others attack who you think is a good president?
The networks rabidly and constantly attacked GW during his presidencey, and now that Fox does it to your exalted leader, you get all offended.
That is hypocrisy in the highest order. But that is okay…you celebrate actors, and lawyers, and entertainers of every kind as the finest folk on earth and demonize those who set out to try to make an honest buck through capitalism.
Take a look in the miiror pal,for there you will see your worst enemy…..
      Cheers!
      -CC.

      • http://jmcgraphicdesignworks.wordpress.com jcfromdc

As I remember, Fox didn’t cut Bush a whole lot of slack, either. Need I refer to Michele Malkin, Ann Coulter and a number fo others? YouTube is full of clips.

      • Cliffystones

Even Fox News as a whole doesn’t “attack” Obummer. They just point out more “inconvenient facts” about him and his minions that the rest of the MSM ignore.

    • Steve E

jopa doesn’t know the difference between attacking the President and what telling the truth is. But that’s what liberals do.

      • eddie47d

First of all Steve E you have to start telling the truth instead of the continual conjectures paraded as facts.

      • Steve E

eddy, you wouldn’t know what a fact is, you shill.

      • eddie47d

        Okay POT!

jopa says: “The most ant American outlet is what’s called Fox news. They continuously attack our President even while we are at war and that is actually treason giving comfort and aid to the enemy. All their sponsors and viewers should be deported immediately for such anti American activity.”

So when MSNBC was attacking Bush on a daily basis, were they giving aid and comfort to the enemy? Should they be tried for treason? Should their viewers and sponsers be deported immediately? Don’t you just hate logic?

      • Paul Wells

Momo, you’d have to understand the basic concept of logic, and what it is to hate it…that is what Jopa, Robert smith, eddie47d, doc Sarvis, and many other twits who regularly post here lack. A basic understanding of logic.

      • Robert Smith

May I point out that argumentum ad hominem is not logical?

        Sure I can.

        Rob

      • Paul Wells

Not an ad hominem, Robert smith. You prove my point every day!

    • Meteorlady

Mitt was a great money manager and as such he made some very astute decisions about where to place money. He did it all legally and above board. His only mistake was that he didn’t address it and explain why he did it.

He did it because our political leaders are over-spending, the Treasury is putting out more and more bonds to cover the cost of this, and the FED us buying these bonds which makes our dollar worth less and less.

I to have off-shore investments and they are doing a lot better there than in the US. So why not ask why this is so? Why not ask why businesses are moving out of here? Why not ask the pertinent questions instead of insulting and calling names or stating “facts” that aren’t really supported? The FACT is that I have a right to protect the money I worked and sacrificed for – and that’s the true FACT of all this.

  • Raymond Kenick

I think that the FTC ought to come in and block the sale

    • http://jmcgraphicdesignworks.wordpress.com jcfromdc

Whether you like it or not, or WANT it or not, calling in the FTC would be just another government intrusion on private property rights, something MOST conservatives despise. It is no different than if I made a decision NOT to sell my house to you, but your worst enemy, because I got a better offer. It may SUCK, but that’s the way it is.

  • AK Tom

Great article Ben. You really ruffled some feathers this morning with this one. It’s always amusing to see the reaction from the regular liberal trolls on this site. Keep up the good work.

    • Robert Smith

Someone makes a lot of money selling a product. I thought you would cheer him on.

Guess that’s only for conservative capitalists.

      Rob

  • mark

Are you a communist now, Ben? Mr. Gore is simply selling his property. This is his right as a capitalist. American corporations deal, trade, and invest everyday with some of the most loathsome dictators in Asia, Africa, and Latin America – and have done so for over a century. And they will tell you and all leftist critics that this is their right as free market capitalists. Apparently in the case of Mr. Gore you disagree. Welcome to the Left. Climb aboard.

    • Cliffystones

If this were capitalism, he would have sold to the highest bidder, Glenn Beck. You Liberals are about as sharp as a cotton ball.

      • mark

No, capitalist under our system have the right to sell to whoever they choose, and not just the highest bidder, although the majority of them do so.

      • Paul Wells

Cliffy…that may be giving them too much credit!

      • Robert Smith

And how much money was it that Beck offered? I’ve actually taken the time to search and I didn’t find anything.

        Rob

  • http://jmcgraphicdesignworks.wordpress.com jcfromdc

All the analogies about Gore and Trump aside, I don’t give a rat’s potoato who has more, who got more, or how. The only difference I see is that liberals trumpet Gore as one of their own, while villifying Trump for doing essentially the same things to, and with, the same kinds of people. They’re BOTH a couple of whores. And to say the selling to al-Jazeera is NOT stealing from the middle class? How so? How many middle-class deaths were joyously celebrated on this network worldwide (incuding the US) on 911?

Frankly, Gore, Trump or anyone else should be able to sell to the highest bidder, that’s capitalism, pure and simple. But SHOULDN’T conscience have a play in there SOMEWHERE?

    • moonbeam

I am left scratching my head as to why the sale to Al-jazeera is even allowed to take place. Isn’t the SEC or whoever taking a look at this??? Why are Muslim terrorists allowed to purchase and own a TV station here? Now we’ll have an Arabic TV station on US soil that refuses to speak the language. Next we’ll be seeing press 1 for Arabic.

I got royally pissed off one day while buying groceries. To slide my bank card I was asked to press 1 for English. I refused saying “This is AMERICA and English is spoken here. I am NOT going to press 1 to hear my native language in my native country.” I made my purchases WITHOUT pressing 1 for English. I will NOT do it! It has to stop somewhere.

There’s just too much BS flying around. The air stinks with it.

      • Robert Smith

Moonbeam asks: ” Why are Muslim terrorists allowed to purchase and own a TV station here?”

Check ‘em out. They ain’t terrorists.

How’s ’bout Murdock with his Fox network? He’s been doing stuff that’s gotten several folks out of work and maybe headed for jail.

Why didn’t you cry for that yahoo to be investigated?

        Rob

      • John Woodbury

Robert, your education is showing, “ain’t” is not a real word. Maybe all of your ex-wives had a point.

  • Jr

My opinion, Is that if I was an extremist, Anti-America supporter from another country. I’d find a sympathizer in the American camp. And then I’d over pay him for some worthless product he has to sell. So, I could support the liberal agenda here in America by doing it right in the light of day. After all, I’m sure someone would raise an eyebrow if they were to just hand Mr Gore a large some of cash for no real reason at all. We all know that’s illegal. Wise up America! How else is al-Qaida gonna support the Democrat, Socialist, Marxist agenda. Unless they do it through the likes of al-Goreda.

    • Robert Smith

Current TV isn’t “worthless.” They have a strong advertising base and distribution. Both are valuable.

      Rob

  • Kim

Al Gore is bad to the bone and about as unAmerican as was ever put on this earth. Anything that can be done to subvert his actions should be. I never liked the man and the more I’ve seen and read about him increase my total disbelief that he is American.

    • Nadzieja Batki

Al Gore may be a citizen by birth but that is all, he is an out and out Globalist. It doesn’t matter where the money comes from as long as it makes it into his pockets.

I never liked the man and the more I’ve seen of Murdock the read about him increases my total disbelief that he is American… Oops, Rupert Murdock wasn’t born American. He bought his way into America.

And we got Faux news for it.

Poor Robert – wasn’t FOX news voted the number 1 station for accurate reporting – by a lot I seem to remember. Wasn’t MSNBC voted last place? seems there are some intelligent people out there.

Ben, I usually agree with all of your talking points, but I hope your reference to Beck was
tounge-in-cheek. The funny thing about Beck is he uses self-deprecating humor to get his
point across, but it seems that every crazy, hairbrained prediction he makes comes to pass. We need a few more counterpoints like Beck to the mass media whores that simply reguritate Dem talking points.

One of the site sponsors has a very warped sense of humor. I open the link to this article, and what does the ad immediately above the title say but “You’ve tried everything, but your blood pressure won’t go down…” Gee, I wonder why?….

  • Flops

Actually, Al Jazeera is a respectable network. It’s only “flaw” is that it reveals unpleasant facts about the State of israel.

And need I add that the author of this article is a Jew? Nuff said …

That’s bit racist don’t you think? Oh wait – it’s only racist if a conservative attacks a liberal. Never mind.

The politicians that comprise our political system referred to as “the-government”, are neither Democrats, Republicans, Left, nor Right, nor to the centre, nor moderates; they are simply “Business-Men”! Nothing more, nothing less!

Ask yourselves, what better cover and position, than masquerading as “The-Government”, being “a Government”, affording themselves all the “rights” while depriving us of ours, while absolving themselves from the “laws” they so flagrantly-violate, yet stringently expect us to adhere to, from which, they, conduct business un-fettered? We do not have, a “Government”, what we have is a consortium of private-Corporations, masquerading as Government!
