X-Ray Technician’s Child Has Six Legs

X-Ray Technician’s Child Has Six Legs
NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CHILD HEALTH
A six-legged baby was born in Pakistan.

A baby boy has been born in Pakistan with six legs.

The child was born at the National Institute of Child Health in Karachi.

The doctor working the case, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the baby has a genetic disease that affects only about one in 1 million babies.

“The doctors are examining the infant to plan for necessary treatment to save the baby’s life and ensure he lives a normal life,” said a statement from the provincial health department.

Imran Shaikh, the child’s father, lives in Sukkur and works as an X-ray technician.

“I can’t afford to visit Karachi and get treatment for my baby,” said Shaikh. “I appeal to philanthropists and the government to come forward for the treatment.”

Jamal Raza, the director of the National Institute of Child Health, said the baby’s appearance is due to the boy having a conjoined twin that did not develop properly.

I had a cousin, who was also an X-ray tech, she became pregnant with her first born, the child was born prematurely at five and a half months and was nothing more than a heart beating torso.
No limbs or head. __Her second child was normal.

  • Viet Vet

You must use the protection devices that comes with the X-Ray equipment.

When this story is about a TSA worker from Kennedy Airport, we will all be sooo suprised. And those with the most frequent flyer miles will have to worry about their next child too. Who should worry most? the TSA worker or the hottest looking woman that has to be scanned every time she flies?

Perhaps there is some connection to radiation exposure. But according to some people (idiots) small doses of radiation are even healthy. Not nothing to play with. I wonder how many women who didn’t know they were pregnant have been exposed to unmonitored radiation levels in airports.

  • Sirian

Hmmm, the baby has a “genetic disease”, one in a million, yet the main point that seems to be running is X-rays may be the cause of things like this. There is a difference between X-ray radiation and “genetic diseases” is there not? Oh, I get it, one is caused by the other. That poor kids mom must have been used as a guinea pig for X-ray trainees. Sure!! Give it a rest, just hope that they will be able to take care of the baby as it should be – nothing more.

You are correct Sirian, there is a big difference between genetic abnormalities and radiation exposure. Most genetic abnormalities are a result of too many or not enough chromosomes causing a “trisomy”. However, in the case of a conjoined twin that did not develop it would be neither one. Not knowing all the particulars of this babies case, it would be hard to say whether or not those extra limbs can be removed safely and easily. Hopefully there aren’t any internal organs or major arteries involved and he will be alright. I pray for the baby and his parents.

Did you notice the detachment of the father in his attitude toward his child? This child will become the proverbial “road to riches” for him with the world’s attention focused on the child.

Although radiation can screw up the chromosomes in a developing fetus. If you look at those who were pregnant, both animals and humans, there are many deformities like this caused by radiation exposure. I don not know if there can be damage to the DNA in sperm exposed to radiation, which would have had to have been the case here. X-ray machines and other medical equipment if not maintained or used properly could expose a worker to radiation.

Gonna be a hell of a track star when he grows up.

Your response is extremely inappropriate and insensitive. The child will be lucky he can even walk let alone survive. Do you even think before you post?

      • jopa

        Thank you Nancy.

    • Joe H

      Jake,
I hope you are still there to see my response to you as I have a handicapped son but he is TEN TIMES SMARTER THAN YOU!! He doesn’t know what an insult is and still doesn’t use them. You, on the other hand, SHOULD know what they are and still insult a defensless child. You are a a scum bucket who crawls lower than a snakes belly!

  • Sharr

My prayers are with this little boy.
May God answer the prayers of the family
and someone help them get him as close
to wellness and wholeness as possible.

Kinda looks like that one god that they worship with all the arms in India. Maybe this is the off spring of that. That would probably piss off the packies and start another war.

  • angelwannabe

Ya know I’m all for free speech that doesn’t agree with me, but there is such a thing about being sympathetic and having a little decency, when talking about a child such as this.
I really don’t care if Jim or Jakes quotes are trying to be funny or not__I’d imagine you wouldn’t be laughing if it was your son or daughter___YOUR BOTH EFFIN IDIOTS!!!!

well said Angel – men can say the most ignorant things.

      Angelwannabe,
I’ve never been more in agreement with you!! God Bless!!!

It’s hard to determine whether x-ray’s or genetic anomalies might be the cause as Mr. Nash has a habit of presenting stories without any support of facts or the complete “story”. We might also consider the fact that Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan have been contaminated by D.U. ammunition and technology. As previously noted in many other articles by an increase in birth defects in those mid-eastern countries. Iraq experiencing the largest increase. http://mindprod.com/politics/iraqdubabiespix.html Caution: Viewer discretion advised.

    Insightful thinking.

“…the father’s child, lives in Sukkur and works as an X-ray technician.” WHAT? The child works as an X-ray technician? I refuse to interpret what the writer means. There is no guarantee that my interpretation will be any more accurate than the article is.

    • Rebecca

      Obvious typo

      • James

It says “Imran Shaikh, the child’s father, lives in… etc.

  • Rebecca

The author must have seen this and corrected it because earlier, when looking at the article from the Personal Liberty Alert email it read “the father’s child”. BUT when looking at the article on the actual Personal Liberty website it read correctly, “the child’s father”.

  • Frank

Has the mother had exposed also to radiation or genetically damaging environments?

  • shivakant vajpai

it is effect of Radiation ,

  • Janice

If the child has six legs, then that must mean that the boy had two con-joined twins.

  • James

Chernobyl in Russia, and our depleted uranium weapons in Iraq have caused a lot of horrific birth defects. Japan will and probably has begun to see them, and soon the rest of the world in a few more years as tons of nuclear waste spread out of Japan. I regret bringing the sad news to you. I’ve heard some pretty good reports, but the mainstream news is either ignoring or suppressing the facts. Don’t be surprised.
