Wing Walker Dies In Fall From Plane

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich., Aug. 22 (UPI) — An airplane wing walker fell to his death during a stunt at an airshow in Michigan, officials said.

Todd Green of the Third Strike Wing Walker group fell about 200 feet while trying to move from the plane to a helicopter about 1:30 p.m. Sunday during a performance at the Selfridge Air Show in Harrison Township in Macomb County, the Detroit Free Press reported.

A spokeswoman at Selfridge Air National Guard Base said Green was taken to the Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center and a spokeswoman at the hospital confirmed he died there, the newspaper said.

It wasn’t known what caused Green to fall.

The base spokeswoman said about 75,000 people attended the show each day during the weekend.
