Who Shot The Dollar?

June 15, 2011 by

Who Shot The Dollar?

Who killed the U.S. dollar? This question will be debated by future historians. Already, more people are asking that question than tuned in to find out who shot J.R. on Dallas. The lineup of suspects is long, but it ends with Barack Obama, the triggerman who killed the buck.

The first wound came from Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who expanded the Federal government’s influence far beyond what the writers of the Constitution ever imagined. He devalued the price of gold and made it impossible for ordinary Americans to convert currency to bullion. But FDR was also crucial during America’s World War II victory, a pivotal event that set the stage for America to become the world’s largest creditor and greatest superpower.

LBJ Chooses Guns And Butter

Another suspect is Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson. When I was in college studying economics, our professor made us read history. This seemed counterintuitive until we read about the guns-and-butter policies of the Johnson Administration.

And while Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama make Johnson look like a penny-pincher, Johnson was the first to take a shot at the dollar.

Johnson pressed forward his vision with major spending programs for education, medical care, crime and transportation. He wanted to transform America the way FDR had. And he had a war to fight in Vietnam.

Gold demand rose, creating a drawdown on America’s gold reserves. The root of it all was a growing trade deficit that the United States owed to the rest of the world.

The Administration of John F. Kennedy knew America’s gold standard was in trouble. In January 1961, Kennedy’s Undersecretary of the Treasury, Robert Roosa, suggested the U.S. and Europe pool their gold to prevent a private marketplace for gold in which the price would exceed the mandated price of $35 per ounce. French President Charles de Gaulle reneged on the deal and began to redeem dollars for gold instead of U.S. Treasuries. The drain on U.S. gold became severe.

The 1960s marked a gigantic increase in Federal spending. Johnson’s two-front war was being fought at a prohibitive cost. In 1968, for the first time since 1893, the United States ran a deficit in its balance of trade. Federal debt began to soar. By the end of the 1960s, the U.S. faced the stark choice of eliminating trade deficits or devaluing the dollar.

Gold On Nixon’s Enemies List

On Aug. 15, 1971, President Richard Nixon cut the final link between gold and the dollar. Other nations could no longer redeem rapidly depreciating greenbacks for bullion.

In February 1973, the world’s currencies “floated.” By the end of 1974, the price of gold had soared from $35 to $195 an ounce. The U.S. could suddenly pump dollars without constraint. It was a period during which red flags were being raised for paper investors, few of whom paid any notice.

The majority of investors would pay a steep price for their ignorance. Over the next decade, they suffered through the worst bear market in stocks since the Great Depression and the worst bond market of the 20th century.

A Democrat Gives The Dollar A Reprieve

It is ironic that another Democrat would breathe life into the buck, but that is what President Bill Clinton did.

During the Clinton Administration — with the help of innovative accounting — the dollar stormed back. The disgrace Clinton brought to the Oval Office over the Monica Lewinsky affair seems almost forgivable since his Administration presided over a growing economy and what underpinned it, a strong dollar. More than a decade ago, the world had confidence in the U.S. dollar.

If you do not believe me, check the chart below.

Trade Weighted Exchange Index

As you can see, the greenback has been experiencing an unprecedented decline since 2001. No doubt much of the weakness in the dollar was caused by another guns-and-butter President: George W. Bush.

Just 2½ years into office, Obama is pushing the value of the dollar even lower. It’s so low that the value of the U.S. dollar now threatens to undermine our future and our children’s future.

Obama had an opportunity to restore the U.S. dollar and the United States. In that task he has failed miserably.

The London Telegraph details Obama’s murder of the dollar. A few weeks ago, the newspaper wrote: “If President Obama is to be believed, ‘speculators’ are responsible for the rise in oil prices that threatens the global recovery. However, for the real drivers of the oil price, the President needs to look closer to home.”

The U.S. has continued to devalue its currency by allowing the Federal Reserve to print dollars like they are going out of fashion. This has boosted the price of all commodities — and the trend is likely to continue for the rest of this year.

“Commodities such as oil are priced in dollars. When the dollar falls, these commodities — be they copper, wheat, or oil — become cheaper in other currencies. This prompts “speculators” to buy. Prices of raw materials have therefore risen on a sea of dollar liquidity — fueled by cheap money and quantitative easing.”

Obama has been pumping money the way Saudi Arabia once pumped oil. His spending has gotten America close to Third World status.

China alone holds nearly $1 trillion in U.S. Treasury obligations. Still, we have a President who is bent on blaming Wall Street. And he does so after having spent more than $1 trillion in bailouts and pushing the Federal deficit past $14 trillion!

Tale of Two Presidents

The Administration of President Jimmy Carter dealt President Ronald Reagan a bad hand. The world was losing confidence in the once-almighty dollar. Commodity prices were soaring. Reagan did the right thing for America. He bit the bullet. Interest rates soared under the discipline of Reagan and then-Federal Reserve Chief Paul Volcker. The result was a rolling recession that hurt a lot of Americans and could have cost Reagan a second term.

Obama has not shown that courage. Rather than batten down the hatches, Obama has opened the spigots — to the tune of trillions in new dollars. The result is a world in which other nations no longer want the greenback as the world’s reserve currency.

History will show that a lot of Presidents injured the U.S. dollar. But the one who gave the greenback the coup de grâce was Obama.

Action to take: Obama’s re-election is paramount to him. He doesn’t care whether the dollar dies. As a result, you should continue to get out of dollar investments and into real assets. The U.S. dollar and Big Board stocks are heading for a collapse. Real assets offer you your only chance of financial survival.

Yours in good times and bad,

Poor Johnny Myers! Nothing new to write? Just another Nazi knee-jerk attack against President Obama who is doing everthing he can to hold this nation together after the mess made by King Bush II.

Without Obama there would be soup-lines and the world would be in chaos. The President continues to rescue us from all the ills caused by George Jr. just as another great Democrat — William Jefferson Clinton — got the country on its feet after Big George Bush made a mess of it.

Myers has his own agenda which never includes the truth, especially when it comes to our President. I wish I could shut up right wing radicals like Myers up. Maybe that will happen when Obama is re-elected in a landslide.

The greedy evil persons that created the FED shot the dollar, its all in the history of banking. The FED is an illegal organization, created to rob Americans of wealth, control the goverment and enslave the rest of the world.

The men that create money care not for whom runs goverment.

        End the FED.

When will Americans wake up and realize the Federal Reserve has to go.The US needs to have an inspection of Fort Knox. See how much gold is lwft. Consider going back on the gold standard. How much worse could it be . Printing money will nothing to back it up. NATO troops may one day be on our soil.Seems like they bomb who they want without reguard for lives of the innocent. Much like the US did in Iraq and Kuwait. Well, the US did get a new Embassy out of the war. Control of the oil and propsed oil pipe lines. Looks like taxpayers never run out of money. 700,000,000 USD for Embassy.THe old embassy had a staff of 50 and an annual budjet of 3.5 million. The New US Embassy will house 4,000 plus 200 troops. The reason for the large embassy is to maintain a large diplomatic persence to engage the Iraqi people. The US Ambassador and General David petraeus US cOmmander will copperate to provide co-equal authority reguarding what is best for America and its interest in Iraq. Now Obama want to spend 736,000,000 USD for an US Embassy in Pakistan. Since this has been in the planning for three years it falls back on Bush also. Our children will be paying for these Embassies for years and years. Both have an annual budjet of 1,000,000,000USD.The IMF recieves on average 3,000,000,000USD from the US anually.I see where Cain and Newt Gingrich are very popular. That is fine. Since they are both CFR members they would fit right in. Of course we have to keep listening to Henery Kissenger for advice, The man who said military men are just dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign ploicy. Great guy!The US treats him as a hero while most of the rest of the world has declared him a war criminal. When Ron Paul asked the Fed Chairman does the US still have gold? The answer was no. What we have is gold certificates. The only change will come from a change in the Whitehous ewith a new president would be in name only. The CFR, CIA and the FED would contunie to control the Whitehouse. Probably add more lobbyist would be added. Most of American will still be dummyed up by the CIA controlled news media.

The government supposedly audits Ft Knox every year…well, I trust that as much as I trust Obama. In the 1970′s a bunch of congressmen went into Ft. Knox for a photo opt, but never investigated much after that…it was to show America that there was still gold there. I, personally, don’t take the government’s word for anything anymore, so I would like for a bunch of selected businessmen who are not affiliated with the government in any shape, form or fashion to go in and actually county the gold and test it to make sure it is gold. With the corruption we have had over the last 60+ years, nothing would surprise me.

          • Lena

Hey Bob, SPOT ON! The federal reserve doesn’t answer to anyone and it is high time they start. I can’t stand how they can basically create debt for an entire country out of thin air! Nonsense!

        • sickofitinca

You can blame the Federal reserve on Woodrow Wilson. You can also blame him for the Progressive Income Tax, the cause of WWII because of the Versailles Treaty and a lot of worthless programs. Read up on him, he was really evil.

Way too much kool aid and prolonged burying of ones head somewhere. Remember, it was a lib/dem that was president during the time of our longest soup lines. That dem/lib did nothing to improve the economy and neither is Obama bin Laden. Yes, he does try to be like FDR. In reality, he’s just a little Hitler pretending to be the president. Time for you to be making that popping noise. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • eddie47d

samurai; Obama will have a tough re-election because of jobs. All those folks who lost their jobs under Bush helped defeat McCain and unemployment could very easily defeat Obama. Barrack is hardly the trigger man for the dollar losing it’s value. That honor could be bestowed on Lyndon Johnson, at least the way the article was written. There hasn’t been much self control in Washington DC for half a century and there is plenty of blame to go around. If Chip wants credibility in talking about finances then why did he bring up Monica Lewinsky? That was a cheap shot and of no important value to the dollar crises. Was that put in there for sideshow entertainment for the dumbed down?

        • Vagabond

no eddie. it wAs put there for your benefit,

        • skip

The one redeeming theme of this article was assessing the blame to about ever President since Kennedy. And for once, acknowledging that Reagan was responsible for a recession, not jobs creation, even as taxes were cut. We can’t have it all anymore, but the Wall Streeters, big oil, big insurance, big hedge-funders who have essentially ripped the rest of us off feel that they are the entitled ones.

I would suggest that to get this country going again, those corporations that having made a killing this year and are sitting on trillions be obligated/incentivized to invest all of those trillions in American projects and companies – ask them to co-fund rapid rail systems, etc., but with the requirement that the hardware for them all be provided by American industry. Think about getting rid of employee sponsored health care altogether so our corporations do not have that expensive overhead cost and can then compete with Hyundai and the like more effectively, but at the same time prevent the insurance companies from ripping off the public as they buy health care outside of their employment – it is currently a rape of monstrous proportions, there is collusion, not competition in the health care arena.
Every nation we compete with internationally has government-sponsored health care, their industries are spared that cost, health care outcomes are better in those countries at perhaps half the cost of ours. There is plenty of room for progress, guys – make our corporations more competitive and our health care more affordable and accessible. De-regulate those who produce, but regulate those who rip us off.

          • Isaac Davis

First off, where do you get that the cost of this farce of “light rail” is supposed to actually do something, and how is the wealth of companies in telecommunications, for example, responsible for funding this boondoggle? My God, man, what brand of Kook-aid are you buying? Secondly, how in the name of Self-Reliance is some gov’t jackass responsible for telling me what kind of insurance I am allowed, and then to dictate to me and the insurer how we conduct our business about MY healthcare? You want a good lesson in how healthcare should work–and why it is so screwed up? Check out Ann Barnhardt at barnhardt.biz for a concise lesson in personal responsibility.

          • Flynn

How can you make our corporations more competitive and health care more affordable when you have a government EPA that is driving those corporations out of business (or out of the country) with incessant over-regulation and that is making government controlled health care so cheap as to be practically worthless?

          • Vicki

            skip says:
“I would suggest that to get this country going again, those corporations that having made a killing this year and are sitting on trillions be obligated/incentivized to invest all of those trillions in American projects and companies – ask them to co-fund rapid rail systems, etc.”

So the big kids took their ball and went home and you want Mommy (government) to force them to bring THEIR ball back so YOU can play?

This is your suggestion? I have a suggestion for you. Get your own ball.

Skip: “Every nation we compete with internationally has government-sponsored health care, their industries are spared that cost,”

And just how are their industries spared that cost? Do they only use slaves as doctors? Do you REALLY want your healthcare in the hands of slaves?

Skip: “health care outcomes are better in those countries at perhaps half the cost of ours.”

Better for whom? The patient or the insurance provider? Dead people don’t need claims adjusted.

Skip: “De-regulate those who produce, but regulate those who rip us off.”

Ummmm. That is what we had before government started manipulating markets. That’s why many businesses send the work overseas. Too much regulation of those who produce.

And I don’t know about your moral code but I would want those who (actually) rip us off be thrown in jail. The law involved is called fraud. Been around for hundreds of years.

          • http://naver sook young

Sorry skip, but we really can’t afford the things you say. We need to get rid of Obamacare and losen the controls on businesses, especially small businesses. If we did that, no matter how much money they make, this would help in job creation and stimulate our economy. I think you really need to look up books and understand what is going on, for it seems that you do not. Thank you.

It isn’t just jobs that we have lost. That pales in comparison to the lost buying power of decades of cash savings by those who worked hard for that money all their lives. And we haven’t seen anything yet. Stay Tuned!
Who’s the culprit? The Federal Reserve of course. But they couldn’t have gotten away with it without the acquiescence of Obama and friends.

Hey Eddie, Did you catch the phrase in the article about “quantitative easing”? that means printing more money. The treasury was also having trouble selling bonds so the Fed printed up a bunch of money and then bought them. that is known as monetizing the debt. Have you ever been out of money and then decided you would print your own and loan it to yourself? That is exactly what the Fed did.

That devalues the currency, creates inflation and the only way to get it back is to raise the interest rates on savings and bonds to get the money supply lower thereby creating deflation. The unwanted effect of that is that it will be difficult to purchase a car or a home because the money supply will be lower and the interest rates will go back to double digits like they were during the Carter administration. Google up the phrase “misery index” and you will get what Jimmy Carter invented and ultimately resulted in his defeat for re-election.

Why did I use someone’s name? You mean like, Obama bin Laden? The one your husband keeps using repeatedly? Is that the one you mean? Who is Obrady bowe Laden? Is that who you mean? Is that the brother of Osama bin Laden? Is it being childish when someone, such as your husband, refers to Barack Obama as Obama bin Laden? Yes, it would be! Is it also very disrespectful to the office of the President of the United States? Yes, it is! “Yeah, leave it to someone to personally attack someone for no reason.” You mean like calling our President, Barack Obama, Obama bin Laden? Is that what you are referring to? Yep, that’s pretty bad! Try again Ms. Thing!

          • http://naver sook young

OK Kang, that’s what my husband calls you. If I remember right, we have freedom of speech in this country. We may know the position of the office of president, but there is nothing in the Constitution or any of our founding documents that says we have to respect the president. I don’t like him either because of his supporting of certain agendas. You are very ignorant, have low self esteem, and probably very few real friends. You keep saying a persons name we don’t know, but I’m telling you to stop, due to there being laws against giving information about someone on the internet without their approval. You need to grow up and get a life. If this is all you are going to do, then you bring nothing to the discussion and just need to go away from here. We only want intelligent conversation. My husband wants to know how you like your business dropping by 50% since some competition moved in? Don’t worry. I know you’ll be hitting the bricks looking for another job soon. Thank you.

You don’t care what someone thinks? Gee, we must really be stuck on ourselves, aren’t we? Does 극단적인 자기 중심적 성격 tell you anything about how you are acting? Next, you say I’m being silly? Who is the one that came on the site to debate and learn and who is the one that is name calling? You really show your immaturity and ignorance by making such an absurd statement. Also, who is the one using multiple name and who isn’t? My husband uses Samurai and I use my name Sook Young. Why do you use so many different names? Aren’t you man enough to use just one? People like you tend to have issues that need to be taken care of professionally. Next, you say no harm? If a person is offended by what you write, then there is emotional harm. Such things that you are doing, as what I’ve just said to you, are covered by laws and you aren’t allowed to do these things. You got me, mister? People like you have no knowledge of how this great country was founded and seek only to destroy it. You are not wanted here, so go away and let the rational, mature adults debate here. I really feel sorry for any woman that wants to see you. They must be just as bad a person as you. Low self esteem, not very intelligent, low morals, unpatriotic, and you must be broke every month by paying to see her. Now you see what has been accomplished? Nothing! Because all people who suffer narcissism are nothing outside their own little minds. As my husband would say: “FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!” And only in that order. Thank you.

Wow, TIME, you really are squealing like the finger pointing bed wetting little crybaby you are. Guess the truth hurts, which is why you are so very careful to avoid talking about it. The article CLEARLY assigns blame to Bush — a Republican — and assigns credit to Clinton — a Democrat. How the hell is that acting like a “Nazi”? The article also states that Obama continued policies started under Bush, and has made them many times worse: wildly inflating the currency, sky high deficit spending, blindly excessive borrowing, etc. The result has been even MORE of what we already were experiencing under Bush: rising unemployment, a credit crunch — who the hell wants to loan money to this damned government of ours? Not the Chinese! — and kicking the can down the road and NOT making the tough choices we will need to make to survive.

Dude, you’re talking, and I see your lips moving, but I don’t understand you. That’s because I don’t speak the language of little [offensive word removed]

TIME – I just can’t stand it anymore. Here we’ve all moved on to seeing more of the big picture, and the liberal simpletons are still stuck in Right/Left, Right/Left, Right/Left…

I just can’t even read their lame posts. Either they are truly that stupid, or they are paid to be here to keep it going.

We’ve engaged in this Right/Left banter ad nauseum, and they still keep coming back with the same old, same old…Why waste anymore time on it? The truth is, we don’t HAVE the time to waste on this nonsense. America is collapsing while we’re here making the same old fake arguments as if it meant something.

Forget these dolts and their endless mantras. EVERY administration played its part in getting us where we are. If these lefties haven’t figured that out by now…We don’t have much time to figure out what we’re actually going to do next.

          • JeffH

Kate8, well said. This brings it all back to the Federal Reserve, IMF, UN, House of Rothschilds and their corruption of our ruling elite from top to bottom. We cannot rebuild without cutting the head off of the snake(s)…Federal Reserve and the corrupt officials running our government.

I do hope there are enough real American “Patriots” left to endure the hardships ahead and fight to regain control of our once free republic…FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

          • April

I know people personally that had to go to work overseas to put a roof over the heads of their families during the offices of both Carter and Reagan. When Carter was in office Americans did not feel safe because we had a weak President; and yes it was easy to get a handout from Carter’s Administration. Then Reagan came along, and although you had to work harder for the dollar, creativity and dignity of the American grew much stronger. The respect for America and for the American was restored and spread abroad because we had a strong and respectable representive in the White House. And our Americans that had to work overseas mentioned time and time again that there was a huge difference on behalf of their safety when Reagan was in Office.

          • http://naver sook young

Sorry Ralph, but you are wrong. There was no depression under Reagan, but there is one now with Obama. You say Reagan acted like he was God? Don’t you think the current president acts like he is God? Sorry, but our family had it better under Reagan then anytime under Obama. My husband was only a corporal then, but we still were able to keep more of our money then we can now. If you wish to post, can you states some facts and cite some sources? Maybe you and your family weren’t good with the household budget and were always broke, because you didn’t know any better then to spend money that you didn’t have. Don’t blame Reagan for your mistakes. Thank you.

        • Stan Smith

Yo Pablo! Go back to your Libtard hate site Daily Kos and your butt crack pal ASG with you! Soon you radical Libtards will be a distant memory! Take your America hating crap elsewhere!

        • DaveH

How unusual, a Liberal playing the Blame Bush card.
Boring, Pablo. We’ve heard it a thousand times and while Bush was indeed complicit, he’s gone. Get it, spilled milk? Obama is in control now and he’s making Bush look like a piker.
Oh, I know, the Takers won’t be happy until the Makers are completely destroyed and our economy sucks like Cuba’s economy sucks.
What do Takers hate more than the Rich? They hate rules that keep them from stealing other peoples’ money.

          • Kate8

DaveH – Speaking of Cuba, I just read where O is working to build our relations with them.

More communist harmonizing, I suppose. The plan all along, and now they’ve got their man in our WH…

          • Curtis

I think America should start renewing relations with Cuba. The Castro brothers are in their 80s and there doesn’t appear to be any plan for a smooth transition in leadership when they die. It’s going to be regime change by old age… and there are plenty of countries with established relations with Cuba. America is at a disadvantage in developing business (mining, agriculture and tourism) ties with a country that could be a heart-attack away from potentially being a democratic nation. Just saying…

          • DaveH

I’m with you, Carlucci, except of course if the Government starts subsidizing Cuba with dollars borrowed against our future generations.
The best thing we can do with Cuba is to leave them alone and set a good example here. But leaders don’t care what’s best for the citizens. They care what’s best for themselves.

          • DaveH

            Sorry, I meant Curtis.

          • Kate8

DaveH and Curtis – I don’t have a problem with building good relations with anyone…except that Obama is working for the communist cause.

I have a feeling it is about uniting us all under communism, for the ultimate cause of the NWO.

          • DaveH

            No Doubt, Kate.
Have you expanded your awareness yet by reading “Lincoln Unmasked” or “The Real Lincoln”?
I’m getting “Hamilton’s Curse” from the Library to read soon.

          • DaveH

It’s important for people to realize that we’ve not been getting “the whole truth and nothing but the truth” for a long time in this country. Before we can stop them from propagandizing our children, we need to understand that they did it to us also.
From a review of “Lincoln Unmasked”:
“In The Real Lincoln, Professor DiLorenzo convincingly exposed Lincoln idolatry as a fraud that has poisoned America’s understanding of itself. Following up in Lincoln Unmasked, he shows who maintains and profits from the toxin in the body politic and the damage that they are doing to us to this very day. DiLorenzo’s masterful diagnosis, we may hope, will go a long way toward a cure.” —Clyde Wilson, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History, University of South Carolina

          • Vigilant

As to be expected from a slavery apologist and biographer of John Calhoun, the man who, more than anyone, fomented the Civil War over the slavery question. Given that he is at the University of South Carolina and wrote “Defending Dixie: Essays in Southern History and Culture,” I think we can see how unbiased he is.

          • http://naver sook young

Pablo, you need to stop sounding so childish. I agree with Dave H. and others here that blaming Bush is getting old. The one responsible for things now is Obama, not Bush. Curtis says that we should have open relations with our enemy? It seems that he doesn’t know what is going on there. Though Castro is getting old and there will be a change in power, but what will the next person be like? What if they are like Castro used to be and send troops across the Caribbean Sea (Greneda) or across the Atlantic (Angola)? What if he befriends Chavez and makes the region unstable and wars break out? If we do help them, how do we do it? Do we take it from our taxpayers (Not authorized by our Constitution) and bail them out also? We can’t afford another bailout. Our people are paying to much out of their pockets as it is. Thank you.

            You lie, Vigilant! As usual.
DiLorenzo does not apologize for slavery. He just exposes Lincoln for the hypocritical, lying, racist politician that he was.
You, a Liberal, should be the last one to talk about slavery, since that is the goal for Liberals to enslave the rest of us.
Anybody who wants to see just how inane Vigilant’s comments are can read one of DiLorenzo’s books about Lincoln.

          • DaveH

And with all the nasty, shoot from the hip comments that you have made, you are going to try to convince us that you’re not biased, Vigilant?
If you’re going to disparage a man, the least you can do is provide some evidence.

          • DaveH

So, Vigilant, you looked to see what Clyde has written and shot from the hip, didn’t you? Of course I don’t expect an honest answer.
Here is what actual readers of Clyde’s book have to say:

          • Vigilant

DaveH says, “You, a Liberal, should be the last one to talk about slavery, since that is the goal for Liberals to enslave the rest of us.”

            I, a liberal?

            (1) You have shown disdain for the concept of patriotism on more than one occasion (“Patriotism is just another manipulative word used by Big Government operatives to silence dissenting voices. If there are such a thing [sic] as Patriots, those people would embrace and obey the Constitution which they swear to uphold.”). Therefore, we have to logically assume that you have no love for your country, since patriotism is defined as precisely that.

            (2) You pretty generally and assiduously avoid postings on any of the forums here which deal with patriotic themes, such as patriotic songs, the flag, honoring the military dead, etc. I’ve done the search, and your postings are few and far between.

            (3) Given your statements regarding the military system of justice, you have obviously not served in the Armed Forces of the US, and have little if any conception of how they operate, nor do you understand that military discipline entails the strictest obedience to orders as issued. You seem to believe that libertarian principles should also apply to the military.

            (4) You claim a moral high ground but are an atheist. Therefore you reject Jefferson’s statement in the Declaration of Independence that our natural rights come from God. So where do they come from Dave? Do you subscribe to the secular humanist canard that only the enlightened elite can tell us what’s right and what’s wrong?

            (5) You have also denigrated the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag by emphasizing to us that it was written by a socialist. Do you ever recite the pledge, or do you just leave out the words “under God?”

            (6) You seem to take a particular delight in running down America’s heroes.

            (a) You post a link (Rothbard’s article on Mises) that second-guesses George Washington’s imposition of discipline on the Revolutionary Army, as if that made him an evil dictator (hint: the military IS a dictatorship, always has been and always will be. It couldn’t survive without being so).

            (b) You assassinate the character of Abraham Lincoln, one of the greatest presidents of the US. Why? Because after the thousands of books written about him, only two works by Thomas DiLorenzo suddenly become your authoritative works on Lincoln. Yes, Dave, only DiLorenzo has the mystic powers of always being correct in his assessments. You should move in next to him; he could give you infallible stock picks or winning lottery numbers.

So, for a man who worships at the altar of atheism, thinks that patriotism and the Pledge of Allegiance are a lot of hooey, misunderstands the military but feels free to make unfounded assertions about it, and who regularly runs down American heroes, my question is this: are you a just a closet liberal posing as a Libertarian?

          • Vigilant

“DiLorenzo does not apologize for slavery. He just exposes Lincoln for the hypocritical, lying, racist politician that he was.”

I never said he apologized for it. Once again, I must refer you to the dictionary. Look up the word “apologist.”

            Shooting fish in a barrel….

          • Vigilant

“And with all the nasty, shoot from the hip comments that you have made, you are going to try to convince us that you’re not biased, Vigilant?
If you’re going to disparage a man, the least you can do is provide some evidence.”

Trace it back, sonny. YOU started the insults, I only responded in kind.

I’ve provided evidence in my postings that outdoes yours by about tenfold. I quote source documents, which you refuse to read. You quote blogs, second and third hand sources, and one-sided websites.

I can’t argue with your understanding because I need to keep referring you to the dictionary and correct your factual errors again and again. Face it, you’re outclassed, outargued and out of touch with reality, and inept, insulting and indisposed to accepting the truth when it’s presented to you.

And any person who calls me a liberal in the face of all the conservative postings I’ve made should seek mental help. Biased? You bet I am….biased in favor of the Constitution, small government and economic freedom. Not a bad bias, I’d say.

Whatever it is your smoking you need to stop. A president will not make everyone happy but at least when Bush was in office people had jobs. All Obama is doing is spending our money on programs people dont want and bowing to leaders of other nations. The man should not have been elected in the first place, but this just goes to show that having the skill of b.s. you can run a country.

      • tom heikkinen

Obama is going to wipe out this nation along with Nancy Peolsi.
His view of this country is revealed when he visits other countries and talks about the USA in negative terms. Spending is out of control in this administration and we can not afford it. We need to get him out of office soonest. He violates the constutution and opens the borders to all and threatens the states who have the mess as a result. His regime fosters abortion via his appointments. I don’t really believe he fears the Lord at all. He doesn’t respect the american flag when he speaks, although now he appears with it in the background bacause he is trying to get reelected. May God bless the USA.

        • http://none Floyd Hardee

You are right tom heikkinen. Obama gave an interview in which he said there were many paths to heaven. Not true! Christ is the Door and no man cometh before the Father exccept through him. He also described Christ as a prophet and a good man, but not as the risen Savior of the world.
To make the USA competitive with the rest of the world we need to do certain things. We need to drastically cut fuel taxes on the federal and state level. We need to mandate the use of alternative fuels to also help create competition. We need to drill here, and drill now; safely of course. Cheaper fuel will make it possible for us to compete. We need to tax cheap imports which undercut our products. Other countries often dump at a loss their products in order to gain market share and drive local businesses out of the market. We need to cut taxes on start up businesses drastically, and cut a well established business by a more moderate amount. We need to create a workforce that is not hampered by Unions that demand unreasonable salaries and benefits. They often threaten to shut down the company to get what they want. When a company shuts down it loses a lot of money and can’t compete effectively with countries that have cheaper labor, and lower taxes. We need to stop paying people to breed! We need to take away their right to vote until they get an honest job. Those who have real physical, or mental disabilities, should be exempted from the voting restriction. We need to get rid of the tax and spend Democrats who are making it hard to compete.Send Robin The Hood home. Send his gang home! Vote Republican!

Those jobs during the Bush administration were all due to Bush pushing the Banks to make easy/risky loans to keep the economy afloat.
Did you ever even HEAR of a zero down mortgage before Bush???? There was no such thing, everyone had to come up with some sort of down payment. Five percent was the minimum.

I agree Obama is not doing the economy any good, but he did inherit a 1.5 trillion dollar deficit. What should he do, un-do everything that Bush and the republican congress did in the first place? Look at the chart above, what time frame did the value of the dollar crash the most?

        • Al Sieber

BigBad, this has nothing to do with democrat and republican, it’s the Fed. reserve. the dollar is manipulated just like the rigged stock market, so how much longer can they keep the casino game going? Obama voted for the bailout when he was a senator so he’s equally to blame. he hasn’t kept any of his campaign promises, especially job creation. I wonder how long before hyperinflation kicks in.

          • eddie47d

The thing is Al no one can create jobs in the USA because it all can be done overseas. Unless a product like the computer comes to life here there will continue to be major job losses. We have become a service nation but other countries can do that also so expect even greater losses. The Republicans won’t allow the government to create infrastructure jobs and private companies are looking out for themselves not job creation here. The news said that foreclosures are back logged but private companies won’t jump in to save peoples houses without government help. Neither side wants to blink so everything stagnates.

          • Kate8

eddie – The Republicans? Just how are they stopping the creation of jobs, since they aren’t the ones controlling things?

Around here I only see foreign workers being hired for gov. contract jobs. Why aren’t they being given to local companies? My daughter works for a good one…but they aren’t getting the jobs.

          • eddie47d

Kate 8; It usually take a majority to get infrastructure projects off the ground and yes it is the Republicans who vote against them.

        • babybikerbabe

I believe, if you look to the origination of -0- down loans – you’ll find the “blame” lies with the Clinton Administration. Those type of loans precede Bush.

Now before you get your panties in a bunch – I think Bush was a crappy President – a true RINO. He expanded gov’t and spent lots of money we didn’t have on things we didn’t need.

I believe we need a President who can make the hard choices and wants what is best for the country, not either party. We NEED souplines, we NEED double-digit inflation, we NEED interest rates through the roof. Based on where we ARE, those are the only types of economic movement we can expect to see.

I dream of a House and Senate that are intent on cleaning up the mess, not on getting re-elected. Who care for tomorrow and are willing to stop kicking the can. I hope for a gov’t that stops sticking it’s nose into places it doesn’t belong – places like the Middle East and my kitchen, bedroom and automobile.

          I KNOW I’M DREAMING!! :-)

Term limits – no more laws for us that don’t apply to them – no more lobbyist – no more ruling elite.

I’m running for Benevolent Dictator in 2012. Care to vote for me?

“I dream of a House and Senate that are intent on cleaning up the mess, not on getting re-elected.”

You hit the nail right on the head – that is main reason we are in such a mess!

          • Isaac Davis

You should add to the list of “dreams” that this Constitutional Republic should rattle the bedposts of this sleeping nation so that they, the residents, are scared to ever go back to sleep. This nightmare we’re living didn’t start with zerobamateur, but it sure has been jammed into overdrive since. The article somehow, also, conveniently forgets to mention Lincoln’s assault on the Constitution and Wilson’s signing into “law” the Fed Reserve banking cartel in 1913. FDR dumped fuel on the fire of debasing our currency by confiscating gold bullion from Americans and then jacking up the price of the gold within hours so that the useless notes given in exchange were literally overnight devalued 30%. We can dream, but may God help us all to make some of the dreams come true–that all Americans come to understand the fragile experiment in a Constitutional Republic is about to fail without their enlightenment of how precious this is in the history of mankind.

          • Dan az

Louie, Clinton made things easy for those with a handout. So the smart American that was willing to work hard for what they earned took advantage of investing and getting on thier feet while the getting was good. That’s why.
And as BigBadJohn said, BabyBikerbabe, “You hit the nail right on the head”
And as Dan az said, Isaac Davis, “Well put”.

          • DaveH

I’m going to try to change your mind, bikerbabe.
We don’t need double-digit inflation, we don’t need interest rates through the roof.
Inflation in general consumer prices is a result of too much money being created by the Federal Reserve. When they print that excess money it goes to specific individuals or organizations that did nothing to earn it. More dollars then chase the same amount of goods resulting in higher prices on those goods (or services). This means that those who saved what they earned can then buy less with their saved money. It’s a hidden tax, in other words. And it’s immoral. Not only that, but it discourages people from working hard and saving resulting in less production thus less goods and services available to the people, so even higher prices for the goods. There is nothing good about inflation.
We’ve been propagandized otherwise by the leaders and the Federal Reserve so they can continue the fleecing of the citizens without resistance.
Read this free online book to gain some insight into money matters:
            http://mises.org/books/whathasgovernmentdone.pdf

What we do need is Free Markets and smaller Government, so that people can do what they do best, unfettered by Government meddlers (who most of the time are just protecting their Cronys from competition).

        • DaveH

Come on, BigBad, it’s Big Government in general that is messing up our economy. It doesn’t matter if Democrats are growing it bigger or Republicans are growing it bigger. Government is just not capable of doing things efficiently. Witness the Post Office, Social Security, Medicare, Amtrak, the Department of Education, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, you name it and they have screwed it up. And why wouldn’t they? When Government runs a business (or protects one) it’s all about pleasing a committee of politicians or bureaucrats, a committee which has little to lose if they get it wrong, so why make the effort? Free Market businesses blow away those run by Government because they have one simple mission — Please Their Consumer. If they don’t, unlike Government, they are out of business. There is no greater punishment for failure than that, a punishment that bureaucrats rarely suffer.
Just by the fact that Government picked and chose which businesses it was going to bail out should tell any thinking person that something foul is afoot.
          As Government Grows, Corruption Flows.

What ever Bush did, (spending $$$, or according to the Dems reduced taxes so business could flourish) The Obummer quadrupled. He increased spending, He managed to print more money then god through his QE 1 & 2. And if Bush was so bad why did the Bummer extend his policies?. He did it because if he didn’t, the economy would have tanked even further. Prices of commodities are higher because of the QE. And Yes, I don’t think the Bummer cares.and yes, under his policies the mighty dollar went down further. I think that this was the plan from the beginning so he can TRANSFORM AMERICA into a socialist democracy and soft tyranny. If that is what you want vote for this president in 2012, but hopefully enough american will realize that this guy (who should have never been elected if people listened to him) is out to destroy the american dream and will vote for “ANYONE ELSE”

Don’t kid yourselves. If they can’t put up a candidate who promises (and then keeps that promise) to shrink Government dramatically, we might as well keep Obama. At least with Obama in office people are being shocked into learning about the Constitution and the benefits of Limited Government. If we put another RINO in office (McCain, Romney, Santorum, etc.) we might as well just bend over and kiss our butts goodbye. Instead of a fast death, it will be a slow death. We might as well get it over with.
We had one other episode of shock therapy in my lifetime (Jimmy Carter), and the people let that lesson go by unheeded. Yes, Reagan tried hard, but the problem was that he was overwhelmed by Congress, even members of his own party.
Please, let’s not blow it this time. Learn why Freedom works and Big Government doesn’t, and put the right people in office (both President and Congressmen). If you vote for freedom and fail, at least you can say you tried. But if you vote for the lesser of two evils, you are guaranteed to fail every time.
Let’s not wait until our economy is as bad as Russia’s was before the peaceful revolution (1980s).

Vagabond and jibbs are right. We do have some loonies. The old saying is birds of a feather flock together. Look at who Obama has gathered around him. His looney birds and vultures are flapping around here and there and everywhere. He appears to love those who lean towards communism, or socialism. He bows and scrapes to the Muslims, and is bringing them in by the truck load. But it takes all kinds in this world and Lucifer kinows they are weak minded and pounces on them and indoctrinates them. They start espousing his lies and dancing to his tune. And as 44caliber says the super rich care not for freedom, or justice, they just manipulate the markets and make more and more money no matter how much it hurts the average citizen. Greed is their god. They don’t know the true God. They don’t belong to Jesus. They are not loyal to him, or to you. They will use the news media to misinform you and to try to get their puppets reelected come 2012. Our best option is to vote for the one they hate the most, then cut taxes and drill for more oil and develop alternative forms of energy. Don’t forget the slogan,”it is The ECONOMY stupid,” it worked for them awhile back and it is a lot worse now than it was back then!

        • wayne937

I think the Obama followers has lost touch with reality. Their minds are made up. Regardless of what we tell them they are going to ignore it. I liken it to a young teenqager thinking they know more than their parents. Of course, after they grow up, they realize their parents were right and they were wrong. Come on Obama followers, wake upo and see the light.

          • Kate8

Wayne937, It’s like I said. We keep having the same arguments with them day after day. In all the time I’ve been here, they are still repeating the same tired lines, and we still keep riding the same merry-go-round with them.

I’m over it. They aren’t going to wake up. At least, not soon enought. We need to move on to things we actually CAN do, not keep rehashing the lies of the past.

Sorry if I was a little out of line, but there is no reason for the word “Nazi” to be used except, if discussing history. I can put up with any word but that. I met Guther Raul a few years ago at Airventure in Oshkosh WI, and he only used the Nazi word when talking about history, and he was a Pilot for them. There is no reason for a politician to use it in modern politics or discussion of them.

        • wayne937

Kate8, I agree withn you. I don’t know why they continue to say the same old thing. I guess they are not trying to learn anything new. It appears they are stuck in a rut, or their intelligence level will not permit them to change. Of course it will hurt the responsible folks more than it will them as I am sure that some of these folks depend a lot on the Conservatives tax dollars for their extra money. Any responsible person don’t need the government in their lives all the time telling than what, and what they can’t do. This type people we are talking about may like goverenment chains around their neck, but responsible people do not.

        • Curtis

Hey Jibbs… no need to apologize, you’re absolutely right. Overuse of the term ‘Nazi’ (and I believe you can add lame comparisons to Hitler) tends to desensitize the true evilness of the word and their actions. Your posts, were from the heart and, in my opinion, extremely accurate.

        • April

But the term Nazi does exist today within the Muslim Brotherhood organization, if I am not mistaken. I will try to find the site.

          • JeffH

April, after doing a bit of searching I came up with this interesting link to the Muslim Brotherhood and the Nazi’s.

Membership in the Brotherhood rose from 800 members in 1936 to 200,000 in 1938. In those two years the Brotherhood conducted a major campaign in Egypt, and it was against the Jews, not the British occupiers. That campaign was initiated by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Muhammed Amin al-Husseini.

Grand Mufti is a term not much used anymore, but it meant the senior Muslim cleric in an area. The Gran Mufti of Jerusalem, Al-Husseini, was very impressed with Adolf Hitler and his anti-Jewish rhetoric. In 1941 he visited Hitler in Berlin. He was so impressed with Hitler and the Nazis, and their plans to exterminate the Jews, that he decided to stay in Berlin. He lived there from 1941 to 1945 and recruited Muslims in Europe for the Waffen-SS. He was very close to Hitler. His best friends were Heinrich Himmler and Adolf Eichmann.

He convinced Hitler that he would be able to have his Muslim brothers in the Arab world carry out extermination of the Jews in the Middle-East, just as the Nazis were doing in Europe.

The idea of using suicide pilots to fly airplanes into high-rise office buildings in Manhattan did not originate with Osama bin Laden in the 1990′s – it originated with Adolf Hitler in the 1940′s.

Albert Speer, Hitler’s famous architect and chronicler, wrote in his diary, “In the latter stages of the war, I never saw Hitler so beside himself as when, as if in a delirium, he was picturing to himself and to us the downfall of the skyscrapers of New York in towers of flame. He described the skyscrapers turning into huge burning torches and falling hither and thither, and the reflection of the disintegrating city in the dark sky.”

Hitler’s fantasy, and his plan of action foreshadowed September 11: He envisioned having suicide pilots fly light aircraft packed with explosives into Manhattan skyscrapers.

It was no coincidence that sixty years later the assault on the World Trade Center by suicide pilots was coordinated from Germany.

Mohammed Atta, the Egyptian who piloted the plane that struck the North Tower, Marwan Al-Shehhi, from the United Arab Emirates, who steered the plane into the South Tower, Ziad Jarrah, from Lebanon, who crashed United 93 in Shanksville, PA, Ramzi Benalshibh, a Yemini, and the Moroccan student Mounir al-Motassedeq were all members of an Al Queda cell in Hamburg, Germany where they held regular “Quran Circle” meetings with sympathizers.

There were millions of death that was caused by these idiots. We need to remind people of this to keep it from ever happening again.

Fortunately, most of the people are waking up to the fact that Government’s prolific spending and creation of money is silently pillaging the value of our savings. They are currently pillaging the value of our savings to buy votes, the Chicago Style. Who needs taxes when they can just print fiat money and pillage our savings?
Imagine you are playing Monopoly, and one of the players (ASGreen) is given a pile of money by a friend who brought that pile from his own home’s Monopoly game. Would you object? Of course!
Those good people who have worked hard and saved for their future comforts are being robbed to support those who have not. There is no good outcome to this type of politics except for those in Leadership and their Crony Capitalists.
And when it comes to Crony Capitalists, each major Political Party has their favorites. We need to end that by getting Government out of the Marketplace.
There is only one Political Party that advocates Free Markets, Limited Government, Individual Liberty, Personal Responsibility, and Peace!

I guess the fact that gas prices are sitting at $3.50/gal vs. the price when the pariah took office is all the proof that you can somehow fashion into an amateur knowing how to save a nation from itself. Just how does jacking up the price of gasoline, as one example, to at least twice what it cost before this pariah got into the oval office benefit and serve to fix America? Did you pass basic mathematics? Do you understand that not one permit to go after American petroleum has been issued since the “mysterious” well blowout last year, in spite of a federal judge telling this amateur administration that they moratorium was illegal? Just how does printing nearly $20 BILLION dollars of paper money every week benefit a nation when there is no collateral to back up that paper? How would you explain the benefit of the 13% decline in the value of the U.S. Dollar since the pariah took office, so that your 100 cents at the beginning of 2009 is now only worth 87 cents of buying power? Oh, that would be “boosh” that did it…yeah…right. So, when does this pariah you so blindly worship actually get any credit for having done any damage to your Republic that you so horribly and disgustingly abandon to an amateur? Where does the government get it’s power to govern?

Anyone with a baby, underdeveloped, brain needs their pacify! You are just jealous of Myers because he can read, and write, and understand complicated things and you cannot. Barney the Clown was in charge of over seeing the lending institutions like Fanny and Freddy. He assured Congress that everything was alright, that they were making money and building house and everybody was happy. Then everything started coming unglued. Mortgage after mortgage fell behind, then they started defaulting. Bush was a sucker when he suggested that they set up a program to oversee these institutions and then let Barney and his Dumb-o-crat friends over rule him. Yes the housing collapse was his fault because he foolishly trusted and believed these Dumb-o-crats.
Are you still sucking on your thumb…or whatever?

ASGreen, I would go with Sarah Palin any time over obama. Palin has a lot of common sense, a true American, has a birth certificate, is well educated with a journalism degree. Oh! she also know that we only have 50 states instead of 57, and she knows how to pronounce corps. Obama pronounced it as corpse, instead of core. Your Obama is supposed to be well educated and this dummy thinks we have 57 states. You take this Muslim Communist out of the U.S. out to a distance island, and elect him as your president. We don’t want him as our president. We have lost to many military personnel protecting our freedom in this country to have a Muslim Communist to ake that away from us. Reember, we have fought Communisn and Natzi for years. We desire freedom from this type of people. I hope some day you will see that I am right.

wayne – You are right. O’s education, just like his life history, is a total fraud. I doubt he ever attended ANY college. He was too busy being trained by communists to take down America. That, and working as a gay wh*re.

His remaining in office is an affront to this country. Never has there been someone so obviously anti-America, who refuses to produce any evidence of his life, who has a history of palling around with communists and radicals, and who gets by with such blatant fraud (and even retains the support of morons).

It seems to me, for the most part John remained focused on those policies relative to the changing value of the dollar itself. The creation of the Federal Reserve Bank didn’t help the country like the Democrats in charge “sold” that concept to their fellow legislators and the American public yet that too proved to be a robber of the dollar’s value in the long run. When you look at that the policies Progressives got thru the legislature during so called transformative times with such catchy names like, The New Deal”, “The Great Society” and “Hope and Change”, * Carter didn’t have a special name for his failed policies as he was too busy failing, they all caused a devaluation of the dollar (immediate and/or delayed) that had to be dealt with by several subsequent administrations. The debilitating long term side effects of Obama’s Statist’s policies causing significant destruction of capitalism will take more than one two term president with a Constitutionalist and capitalist focus from the Republican Party to get our country back on track, if it is possible. Even then, our legislative and executive branches would have to be synchronized to rapidly roll back ALL of the statist, progressive and liberal policies that caused the destruction of the dollar and lessened our personal liberties and freedoms.

“ASGreen” needs to research how the policies that originated during the Clinton administration that were written and passed by such nefarious representatives as Frank and Dodd. Those two were the primaries on those regulations and laws that were continued thru the subsequent Bush administration as they tom foolery was going on in the financial markets. The entire subprime mortgage loan problem grew exponentially when those products were bundled and resold as derivatives then worsened by Goldman Sachs (who was already bailed out thru the back door by Clinton over the failed Mexican bond fiasco for about $25B) insured them [expecting them to lose] with AIG. The person who got the loan eventually lost, the banks who made the loans lost, Fannie and Freddie lost but AIG was bailed out to pay the claims on these so Obama’s (and Geitner’s) friends at Goldman Sachs would not lose! Do a search thru Ann Coulter’s website as she detailed the intricacies in great detail. Obama has only put forth or endorsed policies since he was the President that spent money the country had to borrow in the first place and got virtually nothing in return. He and his economic team implemented policies 180 degrees from the known path of success and the country and the people lost every time!

The good news is that Obama will be a one term president and the worst president ever as his record now demonstrates. Former President Carter constantly sends him thank you cards for getting him off the bottom of the heap of living disasters of past presidents.

For starters, you couldn’t carry Mr. Myers water. In fact since the moral majority of working Americans has to carry the dead weight we call the Kenyan and his entire welfare cult, it’s fair to say you can’t even carry your own water…you need someone with a backbone to do that for you. The Kenyan is “trying to hold the country together”?
You can’t possibly be that stupid and still walk upright. The Kenyan is destroying this country as fast as he possibly can.

The article asks a fair and interesting question though, and I think the bottom line answer is simple. The Federal Reserve, fractional banking and a bought and paid for governmental system that threw us all overboard decades ago…shot the dollar.

Sure, different administrations have had greater and lesser impact but they’ve all towed the line towards Global Communism and all the fun things that go with it.

Oh Please! Get real and stop drinking that democrat kool-aid. The Repubs may not be competely blameless for the economic chaos that we face, but (1) Clinton only balanced, or had a surplus ,as he claimed, because he inherited part of it and in part through Enron-style accounting. (2) Obama’s policies are bankrupting our country faster than all the previous presidents combined. (3) The equivalent of soup lines today is the 43 million Americans on food stamps. Also talk to your local food bank and ask them about the increased demand they face every day!! In the Depression the newspapers were honest enough to cover the reality. Today’s media will not cover any real story which might reflect badly on their chosen one.

President Obama had nothing to do with the demise of the dollar. That was long planned when Presiden woodrow wilson helped establish the federal reserve in 1914.
Also the american bankers, bush bail out of bankers and big business and european central banks, un-checked mexican illegal immigration; giveing them american socila programs intended for american citizens(texas is now 45% hispanic in large part to illegal immigration), giving billions of dollars to muslim countries that kill christians and burn christioan churches and harbor terrorists, and the flight of good paying jobs overseas. foreign aid begins at home; a public works program to put americans back to work like President Roosevelt did during the depression. Put americans to work clearing the dead brus in forests and improveiong rural roads and levees in peoples communities and boarding up abandoned houses or tearing them down.
Also limit the salary and benefits of politicans and union workers.

Maobama does get “credit” for advancing the demise of the dollar! How could you miss his 4 TRILLION DOLLARS to amass a debt that exceeds all other administrations combined? How can you miss the QE1 and QE2 where $1.4 TRILLION dollars has been squandered into the supposed fixing of our economy? How can you miss the nearly $20 BILLION printed every week of QE2 that is doing nothing but ripping our credit line to shreds as we devalue our own currency? How can you miss that the *Fed Reserve* is loaning money to the U.S. Treasury backed by the previous loans as collateral–try that with your mortgage where you go buy another house with the note the bank is holding for your current house! Do you know who or what Teresa Ghilarducci is, and what the plan to do with our retirement accounts consists of to this maobama administration? Maobama has plenty of involvement…enough for a lifetime, and more than enough for a usurper.

        • J A Jones

Strongly Wrong! George II came into office with a $3T surplus and left with a $9T debt. My math says that is $12T difference, and must we already pick on Obama for his $4T? thanks hagd

          • JeffH

J A Jones, GWB had a +$3T surplus? Better recheck your sources.
While not defending the increase of the federal debt under President Bush, it’s curious to see Clinton’s record promoted as having generated a surplus. It never happened! Clinton clearly did not achieve a surplus and he didn’t leave President Bush with a surplus.

Under Clinton, in no year did the national debt go down, nor did Clinton leave President Bush with a surplus that Bush subsequently turned into a deficit. Yes, the deficit was almost eliminated in FY2000 (ending in September 2000 with a deficit of “only” $17.9 billion), but it never reached zero–let alone a positive surplus number. And Clinton’s last budget proposal for FY2001, which ended in September 2001, generated a $133.29 billion deficit. The growing deficits started in the year of the last Clinton budget, not in the first year of the Bush administration.

Verifying this is as simple as accessing the U.S. website where the national debt is updated daily and a history of the debt since January 1993 can be obtained.
            http://www.craigsteiner.us/articles/16

          • Isaac Davis

In the catastrophic math, the debt is over $110 TRILLION for all of the jackass benevolence that some gov’t voted un-Constitutionally to heap on the U.S. Taxpayer. This includes the hundreds of billion in SS and Medi-whatever. The gov’t takes our money in the largest ponzi scheme ever, SS, and then hands a fraction of it back when we meet some gov’t criteria; we’ll never see all of that money, we can’t decide where it’s invested, we can’t move it to a better return rate, we can’t give it to our heirs, we can’t have it all back in a lump sum, and we are taxed on that same BS benefit when we draw from it. Here is a little graphic on Maobama’s spending: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5yxFtTwDcc

      • JC

Kennedy actually signed the bill to do away with the Federal Reserve into law. LBj rescinded that same bill…and the rest is catastrophe.

  • BigBadJohn

The Chart above says more than John Meyers whole rant.
The dollar crashed in value the most under Reagan / GH Bush and started its precipitous fall under GW Bush.

Obama inherited the biggest mess that ANY president has ever inherited!
Is he fixing it – no, he is continuing it. BUT, probably the single biggest thing that would have saved the dollar – letting Bush’s tax cuts expire – the GOP blocked.

Reminder – Who writes legislation? Who controls the Congress? Sorry but you can not lay all of the blame on Obama.

    • Al Sieber

      BigBad, the lobbyists control congress.

      • Al Sieber

Most all of our politicians are bought and payed for.

    • http://www.diyyardandhome.com Dan

The democrats controlled congress for the first two years and still control the senate. The senate has not approved a budget in over two years now.

Obama is doing what he said he would do, transforming America but he is not transforming it by restoring our economy. Nor is he restoring the Constitution. He is setting us all up for a “New World Order”. He hope’s Is Israel is destroyed and has insulted and turned his back on our allies and friends.

      • eddie47d

I doubt if Obama is out to destroy Israel. He only wants the peace process to move forward and a settlement to be reached. Kind of like when Reagan told the Soviets to tear down the wall…stop being so stubborn and join the world in advancements. Stop closing the rest of the world out and join the democratic movements. The Soviets changed and the wall did come down. The Israelis are building walls yet advancing at the same time into Palestinian territory. Some Germans didn’t want anything to do with the East Germans but they made it work over several years. The same kind of achievement could happen between the Israelis and the Palestinians instead of the constant bickering which drags the USA into the fray. The other subject you brought up about our other allies is also wrong. Bush basically told these other countries to go stuff themselves and Obama has spent alot of time trying to get them back on board as friends and partners.Much damage has to be undone from our past President and yes Obama isn’t doing everything right and is creating his own damage.

      • BigBadJohn

“Obama is doing what he said he would do, transforming America but he is not transforming it by restoring our economy. Nor is he restoring the Constitution. He is setting us all up for a “New World Order”. ”

If the “new world order” starts with the demise of the dollar – study the chart. Who got us to this point?

I agree Obama is not fixing anything – he is continuing with the failed policies that BUSH initiated. As far as restoring the constitution and civil liberties, who started our fall? I am old enough to remember REAGAN instituting the power of government to seize private property. Clinton expanded that and has now become part of what keeps local police forces well equipped and manned.
Clinton had the wiretapping program written and funded. Which of course Bush expanded and used to wiretap every person in the USA.

The thing about big government is that once they gain a new power, they do not let it go.

I agree Obama is not doing the right thing for our country but neither have our last SEVEN presidents – starting with Nixon taking us off of the gold standard. A lot of our current problems were from those previous presidents and dumped on Obama. In 2008 I said I pitied who ever won the presidency, they would probably be a one term president – regardless of who was elected.

“Clinton had the wiretapping program written and funded.”

The domestic wiretapping actually started under Kennedy or before it just never got mentioned because we were fighting the “evil Soviet Empire”. The stuff hit the fan over the wiretaps when Bush admitted we were doing it.

        • Al Sieber

BigBad, we can’t keep blaming the previous administration for Obama’s problems, this has been in the works for years, he’s just continuing the agenda, I agree with the rest of your post though.

    • http://none Floyd Hardee

Harry Truman was an honorable man….and he said, “the buck stops here.” He didn’t alibi like Obama. As for Bush he did do some stupid things, however it was set in motion by his predicessor Bill Clinton. People like barney Franks, Harry the Reid, “Let’s pass the bill so we can see what’s in it,” Pelosi, and many others had their part in the downfall of our banks. They encouraged the lending and the greedy bankers jumped right in. They shoveled the money out and the borrowers were not able to repay it. Boom! The bottom dropped out. The fault is greed. Lucifer has attached his strings to both Democrats and Republicans. It is our job to get rid of them and put in fiercely patriotic folks like Sarah(we the news media..hate you)Palin, or Michele Bachmann. These two ladies got a lot of moxie. They excite voters. If they can get Judge Andrew Napolitano to join their team they will be able to stop the President and Congress from violating the Constitution. If they get Romney, Trump, and Herman Cain as financial advisors they can put us back on the road to financial recovery. We need to lower fuel prices, food prices, and taxes on businesses to get our economy going again. We need to use their own words against them(the Democrats) It’s The ECONOMY Stupid”. It is the Democrats fault. They were in charge and they have failed! It is time to put in a new team! Vote Republican!

    • wayne937

bigBadJohn says: Reminder – Who writes legislation? Who controls the Congress? Sorry but you can not lay all of the blame on Obama. If you have to ask this question, we know your in the dark. • Isaac Davis

There is no mathematical way that returning the tax rates to those prior to the CONGRESSIONALLY APPROVED tax reductions would pay anything close to the debt that the treasury owes the lenders and the federal reserve.

The debt, if the taxpayers could afford to zero the balance: the total national debt to $125,475.18 per household.

      Ref: http://www.thenewamerican.com/economy/economics-mainmenu-44/6393-obama-borrowed-an-extra-30000-per-household-in-two-years

So, returning the tax rates to pre 2001 and 2003 levels means a drop in the ocean of any dream that the American taxpayer can surmount such a pornographic crime as has been done to our Republic.

  • Thor

JM, was Clinton really responsible for that spike…or, was it the fact that the people handed Congress back to the Republicans? Was that Bush or his Democratic Congress? I know economic issues like the value of the US Dollar depend in part on the President’s PR program and what he represents in ideology, but the Congress enacts the laws that do the genuine damage or good…either because of or in spite of what the President may say or represent.

    • Disgusted

Thor, you are spot on. The Democrats failed to establish a budget when they had control. My guess is they never thought we would wake up and give control/majority to the Republicans. Now when the Republicans are trying to get our country back in line the Democrats are unwilling to play ball. They should all lose their jobs for not doing their jobs in the first place, they were too busy shoving Obamacare down our throats to establish a budget. Terrible.

    • BigBadJohn

      Better check your info

Bush had a republican controlled HOUSE AND SENATE from 2000 – 2006.

Can’t blame it on the democrats……

      • independant thinker

Ah, but the repulicans under Bush just barely had a majority and needed the help of the democrats to pass anything so the democrats are just as much to blame.

      • Isaac Davis

the BAD part can use some fixin’… 2001/107th congress was Dems/Sen and Reps/House, 2003/108th was Reps both, 2005/109th was Reps both, 2007/110th was Dems both; 2009/111th was Dems both.

        Ref: http://uspolitics.about.com/od/usgovernment/l/bl_party_division_2.htm

And, nobody is saying that Bush is not a progressive of the RINO kind, as he signed the legislation passed by both the house and senate, but you can’t bracket your history to make it look like Repukesinacan can take credit for all that damage done the Republic that we have done one crappy job of keeping.

You state the core of the truth: It matters not who got into the public servant’s job, it is the ignorant and diabolical who went to the voting booths…as well as the apathetic who knew better and chose not to participate in the “game”. We have been given many useless things to do, and everyone of those useless things is far more “entertaining” than to slog through the muck and the vermin that become our post turtles. We, as a nation founded upon principles of Liberty and Freedom have been duped into mindless activities, like Rome and it’s circuses, while those who seek power over all of us have been busy raiding the public treasury, stealing our Liberty and our wealth, gutting Americans before they have left the womb, and selling out our posterity to every form of disgusting venture in the interest of greed and power. And, it is the power that the governed lend to the governing that has been so horribly cared for and protected, and here we are at this point in time, and no one to blame but OURSELVES.

Obama blames Bush for the wrecked economy but continues a majority of his policies, just like he blames Wall Street for our economic woes while voting to bail them out or saying raising the debt ceiling shows a failure in leadership but now wants to raise it. You gotta love the Democrat’s double standard.

    • skip

As al sieber says, and as you imply, neither the democrats nor the republicans control congress or the courts or anything – it is all, and I mean ALL, controlled by lobbyists, who are controlled and paid for by whoever has the cash. And that ain’t the middle class, my friends – it is the big boys, the upper 1% who want control of 100% of the wealth of the nation, 90% not being good enough for them. Look at WIsconsin – the governor and the legislators declare war on the middle class and hand out the goodies to their friend, and that is the way it is unless those not in the upper 1% get eenrgized enough to put a stop to this thievery.

      • eddie47d

You are right Skip for whoever controls the wealth will always control the job market and the economy. That is why lobbyists have so much power over us.They wouldn’t be there if someone wasn’t paying them big dollars to influence elections. Each side looks for victories from their lobbyists and not caring how it effects this country as a whole.

          • Al Sieber

Dan az, and Obama is the one who’s gonna put the final nail in the coffin.

      • Al Sieber

Well Skip, I’m glad you see that, and I agree with you, eddie, and Dan, if I didn’t I’d be a liar. I think both parties are corrupt and next years election has already been decided, we have no reliable choices, but, I’m for Ron Paul. I’m neither democrat or republican I use to vote for who will do the best job, but, the last 20 years there hasn’t been much choice and I won’t vote for the lesser of 2 evils. a vote for either 2 of the last candidates was a vote against the constitution.

    TWO TIM THREE
Read on now incline your thoughts to bible prophecy, and what it’s saying to us in second Timothy chapter three.
It claims that in these last days there shall be perilous times, which means that we shall live to see unprecedented crimes.
It is the baby boomers that St Paul’s referring to, the things they did at Woodstock prove his prophecy came true.
These children of the new age are licentious and perverse and because they have no ethics their offspring are much worse.
Unthankful and unholy and inclined to disobey; when someone tries to guide them they will turn the other way.
Traitors, fierce, blasphemers, who despise those that are good, we meet these kinds of children now, St Paul said that we would.
They’ll kill you for your sneakers shooting guns as they drive by; and the Whitehouse is an outhouse where politicians lie.
And Sodom and Gomorrah is back in style again where women sleep with women and men make love with men.
That’s what St. Paul’s has told us in his note to Timothy; we have lived to see it happen in the 21st century.

As you have honestly pointed out our morals have decayed. My mother is 90 but yeasterday he said something i had to think about. Succinct and concise, as well as prophetic. The failure of America is squarely on the shoulders of her citizens to have values and morals and to understand their absolute responsibility to protect the Republic. We blame the politicians and those who line their pockets, but they would have had a difficult time of achieving those posts had we done our part to remain vigilant to the evil that exists. When the Euro was created I suspected the dollar was gone – and I was right.

The Rothchilds (who owns the US mints) make their money by buying and selling currencies. They floated all the currencies of the world against the dollar for decades.

Whenever the economy began to turn bad, they would tighten the interest rates (raise them) to discourage borrowing which would have created more inflation. But after the Euro was created, this changed. Now when the economy turns bad, the rates drop to encourage people to borrow – raising inflation and lowering the value of the dollar. By doing that, they can “sell” dollars for more Euros. And, considering that they make the dollars in the first place, I (and Ron Paul) suspect that they actually make a few extra billion so they can trade without it actually costing them anything.

  • James

I would have asked: Under whose presidency did the dollar die? The dollar has been losing its value, at a more or less steady rate, since 1913 when the Federal Reserve Act was enacted. Back then our $20 gold coin had about an ounce of gold in it, and gold was then selling for about $20 an ounce. That is, the coin’s face value and its instrinsic value were the same. Now the gold in that coin is worth over $1500.
The dollar lost more of its value under President George W. Bush than any other president. President Obama inherited this fiscal insanity, and has added to it, but not to the extent of George W.

    • ASGreen

Thank you James. It is not Obama’s fault. It belongs on Bush Junior, the Texas redneck that got us into all this trouble. All Obama has tried to do is his best to save the nation.

ASGreen, President Obama violated the War Powers Resolution of 1973. Under that Resolution, a president is forbidden from introducing our Armed Forces into combat without authorization from Congress. The only exception to that is if the United States has been attacked, or an attack is “imminent” and, in the case Lybia neither was in evidence. Speaker Boehner’s insistance that President Obama only has until Sunday to seek congressional approval is giving Obama a break. Lybia was no threat to the United States or its territories, whatsoever, and without that the president had no power to go to war without congressional approval.

    • Ted Crawford

No One, that can chew gum and walk at the same time, could could possibly be as ignorant as James and Green appear to be! They must simply be plants to stir the pot!

      • James

Ted C., The War Powers Resolution, Section 2(c), reads: “The constitutional powers of the President as Commander-in-Chief to introduce United States Armed Forces into hostilities, or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated, are exercised only pursuant to (1) a declaration of war, (2) specific statutory authorization, or (3) a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.”
In the case of Libya, Congress did not declare war, or otherwise authorize it, and Libya had not attacked the United States, its territories or possessions or its armed forces. Thus President Obama’s attack on Libya was an unconstitutional use of his powers.

It’s that South African again. When I read the reaction of people about what happened in the past and blaming people for what has gone wrong my question is: “The past is the past, what can one do to change the current situation to one that is acceptable?” Will changing the President change it or do one need to do more? What can I do to facilitate the change I expect? Does the blame game give answers to what we should do?

As I understand it, your President does not have dictatorial powers any change should be accepted by Congress and the Senate. Should one not blame those people for the problem, but is it going to change now? I see many of the same problems in Africa, current problems being blamed on colonialism, in our case on apartheid but never on the leaders of country for not achieving their plans. Are the citizens of America moving toward a third world way of thinking?

    I am just wondering.

He thinks he is a dictator and may be one if there is another false flag attack. We can only hope that if there is another election that we can remove all of the so called congress and replace them with constitutionalist that will bring this once great nation back from the brink of disaster. There are allot of us awake that see the problems that we and the world are in,but it maybe to late, with the corruption so deep it will take a civil war to straighten it out.I hope not but could be.I’m am glad to see your still here and hope for your input in the future,it is great to read something from others that are trying to wake up our people to what will be their demise.Keep up the good work and good luck to you and yours.

      • http://Na. Robert Bradfield

        Dan az,

It is that South African again. I am worried for your country because if you fail, then there is very little hope that the West will survive. It is, therefore, also in our interest that the USA continue its role as leader. South Africa has joined the so-called BRICS-group but the only effect I see is that our friendly partners will use us as a source of raw material and a gateway into Africa with little benefit to us. My concern is that our country’s leaders are so blinded by this that they turn their backs on past partners.

Other than that, thank you for your kind words. It is sometimes good to take a view from afar because when one is involved one tends to only concentrate on one aspect. I will try to be fair in my comments realizing that it is your country, your political system, your values and in the end your choice how to address the problems you face. I do, however, pray for each of you in the changing times that you face.

        • Dan az

          Thanks Robert!

All I hear about is,,” we need more jobs”..o.k, Here are a few examples from personal experience,,,
I needed a new, double wide garage door and phoned around, then went in person ( as the phone-calls weren’t returned) to various business establishments who advertised this product. It was only after waiting 3 weeks that an estimator called round to view the job ( A standard door size ), and gave a price, agreed on, and another 3 weeks before they came to do the work,,,which took less than 3 hours.
A similar experience with new windows for the whole of the front of the hose,,,still waiting on them, even with the estimator coming ( after 6 weeks),
Then we had a water leak from the kitchen sink pipes ( I fixed that myself even though I have muscular dystrophy and found it an horrendous experience, all that bending and stooping )..but, then needed the wooden floor looked at ( laminate ) and tried to get someone to help,,,4 weeks and an estimator came , we decided on doing the whole floor,,he promised to phone in an estimate but 3 weeks have gone by and no signs,,,So, I’m of the impression that although I’m willing to pay whatever the current price is for any of these jobs, NOBODY wants the work, so things must be great for all of them.
I imagine these young office types setting off from base on a morning with a list of things to do and ending up in a bar somewhere , doing the biz on their cell phones.
On another subject, why all this talk about wanting CHEAP GAS,
we are already at approx half price from anywhere else…so quit moaning…Sorry for the rant, I’m not up to snuff today.

    • 45caliber

There is a difference between us and others as far as gas prices are concerned.

We drive a LOT in the US due to the way the cities and country are laid out. For instance, I drive 35 miles ONE WAY to work every day and so do most others here in Texas. At least.

But in Europe where gas prices are higher, they seldom use a car. One man from there I talked to said they only use their car during a 2 week vacation. The rest of the time it stays in their garage. The rest of the time they ride a bike or take public transportation to and from work and stores. So I can see why it would cost more for gas there.

When they can make gas as cheaply as they do, they don’t need to charge big prices to sell it when they sell it regularly. They do because they can.

      • Dan az

        45
Supply and demand the more you use the less it cost the less you use the more it cost.Europe has countries the size of our cities so they use far less than we would. The excuse that they pay more and we should not be complaining is absured to say the least.

“Permit me to issue and control the money of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws.”
    Mayer Amschel Rothschild 1792-1844

The dollar has been killed by the descendants of the creators of fiat money. How fitting.

Once you understand that the super-wealthy central bankers at the top decide everything, including our collective fate, you are ready to begin the search for WHY they would want the dollar dead and America stricken. It’s all out there on the web.Not that everything on the web is true. Try to see reality as a jig-saw puzzle with many extra pieces that don’t belong in the finished puzzle. When your puzzle is in it’s early stages, it’s difficult to find the right pieces. When it’s almost completed, any piece that doesn’t fit into the picture is easily discarded.

Why do the central bankers want to own a bunch of worthless paper? They don’t necessarily. They want control of all nations so that we must appear before them on our knees to beg for our survival, and ultimately they want most of us dead, leaving just enough alive to be their servants. The central banks own the greatest amount of gold. They know fiat money is a complete fraud. They believe the world is too full of useless people (read: anyone not in their groups – the IMF,the bilderbergs, the CFR,etc.,). They’re alot like muslims – we are allowed to live as long as they need us to serve them. They allow our politicians, who are not all rotten, to be re-elected as long as the pols conform. In their defense, the pols are only vaguely aware that there is a power above them from whom they receive their marching orders. The pols truly believe that there are many ways to serve their constituents. Those that buck the trend of going along to get along are rarely re-elected. Ron and Rand Paul are rare exceptions, and brave, brave men.

Find “The Money Masters” on youtube and watch it as often as you need to to hasten completion of your puzzle. Join your fellow Americans who are waiting for you with open arms to join the fight against this threat to our survival.

Or, simply vote Ron Paul,2012. As did Andrew Jackson and Abe Lincoln, Ron Paul will slay the medusa-like beast that is the Federal Reserve which enslaves us to the Rothschilds and Rockefellers.

    VOTE RON PAUL 2012!!!!

      steve:

Ron and Rand Paul are doctors. Therefore they have their own income that is seperate from that of the politicians. They don’t have to take bribes and they don’t have to sell their votes to get rich. Actually, they are satisfied with the money they have rather than trying to get rich as most politicians do.

That is also the reason there is a bill in Washington (and has been for several years) to make it illegal for a doctor to run for office. They have too much independence. Further, that is one reason I believe Oblamacare was pushed through – to restrict the money a doctor can earn.

There is a reason that we have not elected a Senator or Rep to be Pres since JFK. Those in Washington are part of the problem, not the solution. Witness the Community agitator, w/o business experience.

      Thanks,Ruffus.

I’d like to take this opportunity to challenge all on this site to refrain from personal attacks in the future. (Not referring to you, Ruffus). While guilty of this myself in the past, I think we need to just ignore the liberals who post here as you might the child of a visitor in your home. Perhaps they’ll just go away if we are successful to any degree.

The country we love is in peril. We have important business to discuss and too much to accomplish in too short a time to waste any time and effort on those who are deliberately leftist, obtuse and/or wrong-headed. What concerns me most is that many here who share the knowledge of how great our country is, (yes, I am one who knows the difference between my country and my servant, the US government) allow themselves to be diverted from agreement on important principles and issues due to falling for the red herring posts of a few liberal baiters (Most of them are actually master baiters! lol)resulting in keeping the rational people here at odds with each other over minutiae.

      Let’s get it together,my friends, and -

Some things were inadvertently left out. FDR did what he to do in order to save the entire world from the Third Reich and Japan, forgiven. Nixon took USA off the gold standard which promoted printing dollars frivolously, unforgiven. Jimmy Carter inherited the inflation caused by Nixon removing us from the gold standard, the Republicans really got away with a big one and allowed Jimmy to take the blame. Ronald Reagan doubled our debts and deficits during his eight years, a third grader could have done as well. George I promoted the credit/debt crisis by extending loans to where a 20K per annum person could buy a 300K home while carrying massive consumer debt thereby creating the bubble in the 21st century. The writ has Bill Clinton about right. It appears from the chart that George II drove the economy and dollar to lowest depths while mismanaging the military and ensuring massive hatred toward the USA worldwide. Obama is trying to pick up the pieces of four Republican adminstrations gone astray and I can’t see where a Republican of any stature could do any better given their record. hagd

  • i41

BBJ, What group of people were in control of legislation and were writing the programs up to piss money away? That is right it was the marxist/communist dumbocrap party. You pointed out it started under Reagan and continued on, what worthless agency keeps whizzing money down a drain, with out any positive results. All of them, butthe damn Dept of Ag, created under the avowed registered communist FDR. In 1980 the dems came up with the plan to idle even more farm ground and pay landowers to do nothing but cash their government checks and do absolutely nothing. The CRP was nothing more than the Soil Bank program that ke[t land out of production for 25 years. The new CRP was renewed year 10 years and has been in effect for over 3+ decades. Only there is not any payment limits like the Soil Bank program was set up to limit the amount of government free taxpayer money, then it was $25,000. Now it is just as much as you can get, there has been and still are several Sen. and Rep.in Congress who get millions every year. A few notables are clowns like texan Sen Loyd Benson, Tom Daschle, Denny Haster, all who would not against any restrictions on CRP. Also the bs story Michele Bachman sure didn’t get government subsidizes from any farming, stories from the dumbocrap party, reported by you know the 30 stations of the media, owned by George Soros. Rangel gamed the system using taxpayer funds for his rentals, if it had been you or I we would be getting Florida sunshine hauled to us in a cartoon. But since he is a democrap, Greasy Rangel got a pay raise and stayed in Congress. If you look up the economic facts of this country, when the government wasn’t meddling in any businesses, either manufacturing or food production, money did have some worth. But as more impediments are placed on anything productive business, jobs move over seas and more people are unemployed. When ever the marxist/communist democrats knock corporations and the people with money, the corporations’ boards set the payments to the managers and CEO, most are democraps like the pukes that sit on Wal-Marts board which Hillary was part of, and several of Whorehounds’s staff are still there. When the 30+ milllion acres of farm ground was stoppred from production by dems and their farm programs, billions of revenue are los on crop and meat sales are lost. So when you pee brained dems start to blame republicans for the big mess or your favorite person GW, it has been all the dumbocraps who want more government control and welfare slugs. Since the new farm bill is up for plaaning , tell you freak dem Congress persons to get rid of Dept of Ag and the CRP welfare programs, in which of all the payments go to 78% of all payments go to less than 18% of those receiving payments. Whiuch includes wall Street commodity corporations, lawyer corporations, people who can gain the system from foriegn countries. All butt wipe democraps.

      well done!

Since 1971, the Federal Reserve alone, with its monopoly on printing currency and creating money out of nothing, has successfully weakened the dollar.

    Thomas Jefferson warned us:
“I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. If we run into such debts, we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and in our comforts, in our labor and in our amusements. If we can prevent the government from wasting the labor of the people, under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy.”

“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.”

This warning about banking institutions and their protector, the Federal Reserve System, was implemented in Article I, Section 10 of the Constitution of the United States: “No state shall . . . coin money, . . . or make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts . . .the dollar will continue to weaken until it is worthless, or until the Federal Reserve System and its printing presses are abolished.

I found this article by REUTERS:…”record low interest rates, the Federal Reserve’s bond buying program, staggering budget deficits and the White House’s export-driven jobs policy all have contributed to the dollar’s decline.”

According to Allen Sinai, chief global economist for Decision Economics Inc. in Boston, by de facto the United States is permitting if not aiding a deliberate dollar decline. The heart of the dollar decline,” he added, stems from the super-loose monetary policy run by the Federal Reserve for more than two years as opposed to fiscal or tax policy.

A former White House economist in the Obama administration, who requested anonymity, summed it up:

“I don’t believe the U.S. is actively pushing a weak dollar policy — but I would say this: the fact that interest rates are low and the U.S. is aggressively pushing monetary stimulus, that has the effect of depreciating the dollar,” the former official said. “That is certainly a mechanism which would result in a de facto weak dollar policy.”

Myers is a fool to just blame Obama even though Obama had made a lot of very bad mistakes on handling our economy. It was George W. who left us with two wars( with no exit strategy) a housing bubble( he believed everyone should own a home whether you could afford it or not), jobs were already starting to get scarce so he allows 3 million illegal aliens to become citizens which went on welfare. Now Obama gets in and borrows more and more money from the federal reserve making the dollar worthless and still keeping us in two wars that we can not afford. In my opinion both Presidents are failures and cared nothing about this country, their actions prove it.

Bush was a progressive (still is), but he warned congress that the mortgage fiasco would detonate at some point as the numbers didn’t add up. Bahnee Fwank told congress that everything was fine and there was nothing to see to be concerned about; fannie/freddie were solvent. Yeah, like a sewer. The proof of that is out there, but, just to do your homework for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_918789&v=1RZVw3no2A4&feature=iv It is important that if we are going to stand together in this fight for our Republic that the facts ring true throughout. I do not give a free pass to Bush, he continued to push for amnesty, but the American voices kept that from happening in 2007. Congress writes the laws, or the color of them. Obama is continuing the policies that are anti-American.

Have you forgotten Jimmy Carters CRA, or Lyndon Johnsons “Great Society”, Stephen?

JA, Reagan had to rebuild our miliutary after all it had been ruined by keeping it opersting by scaving parts off of 3 to keep one operaating. You must be a baby if you don’t remember when we had fuel lines because the dumb bastard Jimmy was shutting down and destroying refineries, would let any new ones be built like the refinery in NM that was permitted in 1978, and still sets dead because of a supposedly jumping mouse, which was proven to live from up in Canada down in to Mexico. Or has the Dept of Energy helped with creating and new energy, no it is just another pie in the sky taxpayer wasting organization for feel gooders. Yes you forgot about FDR, when in the late 30′s FDR killed and buried 100,000′s of cattle, when people were starving, some to death, kept the nation in a depression for over a decade, created the communist styled farm program, developed by a registered communist. He was a Onumnutt lite, because ole jug ears has more willing marxist/communists democrap like you to fawn over him now. I don’t know what toleit bowl all you mental midget morons are sucking out of but, you need to read some real facts, not the Soros financed democrat coloring books. Stephen, what has been the niggardly Onumnutts exit stratagy for the 2 new wars we are now in? I thought since he followed the French in to another bs engagement, which was going be done in a few days and on the cheap. He lie was it would be taken care of equally, yes and dmes are not marxist/communist either. Last week we in debt over 3 billion for just Libuia, at least, and now we are in Yemen. It was Peanut Carter who wanted more money loaned to minorities, even though their payment payback is poor to nothing, Clinton wanted more loans to welfare slubs, GW wanted a to see what was happening with FDR’s Fannie and Freddie bs plan. Because every one there was a rotten rat in the mix, actully there was 2,Sucks Franks and Blow Dodd. Of course why should citizens expect any thing less from the marrst/communist democrat party. There is tax cheat, former majority leader Sen.Tom Daschle, Greasy Rangel, Tresury Cheat Geithner, Maxine Walter and Cold Cash Johnson and the clepomanic Clintons just to mention a few of this pervert party.

Every congress has been guilty of wasteful spending.Credit cards were not put into effect for our benefit. There are there to drive Americans deeper into debt. before credit card if we didn’t have the money to purchase a item we saved for it or did without. Along comes easy credit with the card. Credit cards are flooding our mail every day. I know friends whohas their cards maxed out yet still get cards in the mail an duse them. The interest rates are much more money into the pockets of these companies than we can imagine.government waste comes in the form of our military expenditures. Robert Gates:Since 1995 the US has spent 32 billion USD on abandoned weapons programs. The Federal Reserve misplaces atotal of 9.7 trillion dollars over a few years but no investigation. Now, the US has spent over one trillion dollars since 2007 and still climbing. We can’t spend our way out of debt. China is asking our government to sell them 1.1 trillion dollars worth of gold. What gold? The Feds said we don’t have gold. Wheather it is credit cards or money if we can’t afford it we shouldn’t use it or spend it.I cut up my credit cards and i am now debt free. This is the way many Americans were before the credit card. Everything that is working to desteroy our economy, family values and morals are by design.Especially those in power in our government.Omething to think about. 1992-Henery Kissenger: Today America would be outraged if UN troops entered Los Angles to restore order. tommorrow they will be glad. These same people have the same goal. The Council on Foreign Relations and they don’t try to hide it. in a bilderberg meeting it ws reported they wante dto thank the news media for their help . Without their help theywould not be so far along with their plan for a New World Order. For those who think a North American Union will never happen it already has been agreed on and approved. The Patriot Act II will prove to be the most dangerous and harmful piece of legislation next to the Federal Reserve Act in 1918.Woodrow Wilson: I have betrayed my country!

When a company falls on difficult times, one of the things that seems to happen is they reduce their staff and workers. The remaining workers must find ways to continue to do a good job or risk that their job would be eliminated as well.

Wall street, and the media normally congratulate the CEO for making this type of “tough decision”, and his board of directors gives him a big bonus.

Our government should not be immune from similar risks.

    Therefore:

Reduce the House of Representatives from the current 435 members to 218 members.

Reduce Senate members from 100 to 50 (one per State). Then, reduce their staff by 25%.

Accomplish this over the next 8 years (two steps/two elections) and of course this would require some redistricting.

    Some Yearly Monetary Gains Include:

$44,108,400 for elimination of base pay for congress. (267 members X $165,200 pay/member/ yr.)

$97,175,000 for elimination of their staff. (estimate $1.3 Million in staff per each member of the House, and $3 Million in staff per each member of the Senate every year)

$240,294 for the reduction in remaining staff by 25%.

$7,500,000,000 reduction in pork barrel ear-marks each year. (those members whose jobs are gone. Current estimates for total government pork earmarks are at $15 Billion/yr).

The remaining representatives would need to work smarter and improve efficiencies. It might even be in their best interests to work together for the good of our country!

We may also expect that smaller committees might lead to a more efficient resolution of issues as well. It might even be easier to keep track of what your representative is doing.

Congress has more tools available to do their jobs than it had back in 1911 when the current number of representatives was established. (telephone, computers, cell phones to name a few)

    Note:
Congress did not hesitate to head home when it was a holiday, when the nation needed a real fix to the economic problems. Also, we had 3 senators that were not doing their jobs for the 18+ months (on the campaign trail) and still they all have accepted full pay. These facts alone support a reduction in senators & congress.

    Summary of opportunity:
$ 44,108,400 reduction of congress members.
$282,100, 000 for elimination of the reduced house member staff.
$150,000,000 for elimination of reduced senate member staff.
$59,675,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining house members.
$37,500,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining senate members.
$7,500,000,000 reduction in pork added to bills by the reduction of congress members.

$8,073,383,400 per year, estimated total savings. (that’s 8-BILLION just to start!)

Big business does these types of cuts all the time.

If Congresspersons were required to serve 20, 25 or 30 years (like everyone else) in order to collect retirement benefits, tax payers could save a bundle.

Now they get full retirement after serving only ONE term.

JeffH, pull out a dictionary and see what niggardly means. Shows how damn dumb most PCed libatards are, you will find it doesn’t have a damn thing to do with color. It is behavior and beliefs, it was the last time I wrote a college paper on it, it may have changed since Whorehound’s time, when wha is the defination of is mean. What is racism, is affermative action and the minority bs programs that are totally are racists. Apparently your pubic school education really did a bang up job in pounding sand up your rear on PC crap. All marxist/communist democrat bas-ards think if a word is used by the same whining pukes, as they call themselves, it is not racist. But these same blubber lipped or blanket reared slubs can call whites, and others derogitory names and it is ok, because they are generation s–t birds how think they are victums. I had a black male nurse who was also a Rev. when I was hospitalized after a wreck, who was told to write an apology to a bunch of puppy snatchers off the rez, who claimed he was bigotte against them, when he first had to give them meds, this was first time he met them. As for being such a person, he sure wasn’t. He was a great nurse who served in the military and despised his own race, for being worthless lazy generational welfare smucks.

    • JeffH

i41, I’ll put it in plain english for you. Your mouth constantly runs like an open sewer and I do know what that term means. You wear your intentions on your sleeve like an open book. Go right ahead and use all of your i41′ism you like ’cause they don’t register with me anyway…I’m just callin’ it like I see it.

Sticks and stones…We are, whether you like it or not, rooting for the same side aren’t we?

I don’t know what kind of rose colored glasses ASGREEN looks thru but they don’t improve his vision of OBUMA. Obuma and the clowns he has around them are doing every thing they can to ruin the dollar and destroy the aura of AMERUICAN EXCEPTIONALISM. Blind followers of the fool Obuma are rapidly destroying our culture and economy and they are supported by the likes of ASGREEN, a not very astute observer of what is happening to our beloved country!

  • Dennis Oberholtzer

I do not know much about banking, but I have heard years ago that the government changed the way they print money. I believe that in order to print money in today’s economy, they have to “BORROW” that money from some of the super-rich at a rate of interest. So while Obama is trying to print us out of debt, he is really selling America to the filthy rich. I have no way to prove this because the legal jargon happened a few years ago and I did not keep the articles. But things like that stick in my mind, and Congress needs to get off their butts and change printing money back to a completely US Govenment operation.

wayne, the scariest part of this, the people that voted this guy into office are still out there and the biggest part of them still think he’s the messiah. blacks, mexican, illegals and democrats.

    • JC

      In short, the parasites.

      • JC

And before anyone yells racist, there’s white parasites too….and no shortage of good people from all walks…

  • BimBam

Blacks don’t prosper any country. They have never been known to do that.

    They never invent anything.
    They never run any business.
    They never farm.
They practice “jive” as a way of life.
    They are lazy.
    They never save.
    They have an inferiority complex.

So, what do demoncraps do when they want to destroy a nation?

They put in a illegal unqualified black who begins to mold it in the only way a black can – dicktatorship to make up for lack of skill.

    • http://deleted Claire

BImBam: Not just blacks, I believe there are a number of whites, hispanics, etc. that fit your comment. A lot of them have wanted a free ride and they have gotten it for decades. I look around and I see many people that do not give a damn about their quality of workmanship.

      • BimBam

Don’t buy stuff from China. They all break after awhile. From combs to chairs.

Comb teeth made of cheap plastic that break after a couple of months. Chair arms are sprayed with cheap drying plastic that shred off the arms after a couple of months. Top of the line chair from Office Marx.

They’re all made to look good in the store, and that’s about it.

Almost all inventions come from white countries, exception is Japan.

      • JC

        You’re right Claire.
I get a kick out of seeing white teens trying to look like black kids from East LA. It just isn’t who they are. But they sure are trying…to be “cool”. And they’re a waste of skin too…

      • Bob Marshall

Right you are. Clarie. Welfare is a socialist program that takes away from ones self esteem and pride. the government bought this program into being so we would continue to be dependent on them. As for African American. I call any citizen a American. However if they chose to be called African-Americans i just read the latest report showing that African-American unemployent is 16.2% and for men it is 17.5% For black teens it is a whopping 41%. While the general population is 9.1%.The tradgey is this is not by accident. All one has to do is learn about the global elite an dtheir plan and how they plan to carry them out. Race isn’t the issue. A New World Order is the final goal with NATO as world police. Bill gates,a Bilderberg member, said at a conference the world population is out of control Six billion should be reduced to one billion. Whenasked how would he accomplishe this/ his reply was through vaccines, abortions and parental control. now, we have ted turner.A total of 250-300 million people. A 95% decline from presents levels would be ideal.I don’t think these men or the global elite care what our race is. Just genocides of the highest order. This has been planned for forty years through all presidents.Every cabinet and admin istration has always been full of CFR,TC and BB members. We can blame one president or the other but there are all puppets of the global elite. Obama is just finishing what Bush started.i can’t see him being re-elected. Will that really change anything. The CFR and the lobbyist will still be in control of the Whitehouse. We should be ashamed of our congressmen and congresswomen because most have sold us out.

    • dquiney

That is one of the stupidest comments I have ever read.
President Obama is legally born in the U.S.A., if not I am sure the CIA, FBI, or NSA would have brung that to light a long time age. The fact of the matter u can not accept that a black man was elected leader of one of the most powerful countries in the world.
It was Congress, predominantly white, led by a white President that gave billions of dolaars to muslim countries that kill christioans and burn chrisstioan churches, yet the media, predomaintly white does not report it; it looks like a white conspiracy to bring doawn the dollar.( think about it)
Black people r not lazy since this country benefitted from 250yrs. of slavery (free labor w/out pay), that made this country the best country inthe world, and there have been plenty of black inventors.
BimBam u typed your message on a computer it is a shame that u do not use your computer to research black inventors or the federal reserve which is the real reason why america is experiencing the death of the dollar and wealth transfer.

      • JeffH

HELLO! dquiney says, “President Obama is legally born in the U.S.A., if not I am sure the CIA, FBI, or NSA would have brung that to light a long time age.”

Just an FYI unless you missed it, the CIA, FBI, NSA or any other government agency including congress and the senate are not responsible for vetting presidential candidates, nor can they.

Even though the office of the President is part of the Federal Government, the Feds don’t have any power to enforce the Constitution’s “natural born citizen” requirement for Presidential candidates. It is the state governments, and their State Elections Divisions, who are actually the government officials who are responsible for ensuring a candidate, during the election process, is legitimate.

        • dquiney

If there was ANY proof that President Obama was not born in the USA, it would have been brung to light by someone inthe FBI,CIA,or NSA or some billionaire who supports the republicans. Accept the fact that a black man was elected President of the United States of America and move on.

And BTW you are the only one here that thinks its because he is black. Not sure but you sound a lot like a bigot to me.And he is only half black so which color are you referring to, if it even mattered. Now that the truth of his BC is out do you still believe that he is a natural citizen? When he is put in chains will you still be here trying to disrupt the conversations?Begone troll your wasting our time.

          • JeffH

dquiney, I’ve no problem with a black man, a mulatto or a woman or anyone of any color or ethnicity becoming president. I simply gave you the information that you lacked that the federal government and it’s federal agencies are not allowed to “vett” a presidential candidate. Did you even understand my comment?

It also seems that you missed Trump’s, an Independent, allegations about Obama’s legal birthrite to be the president. It seems you may have more of an issue about race than I where Obama is concerned because you brought it up.

          • Dan az

Besides did you not look at our pictures?Honky!

Jimmy Carter didn’t take us off the gold standard… Nixon did… and when he did, the Federal Reserve started printing lots and lots of money. Two years later, the inflation caught up, and they had to slow down the velocity of the money by raising interest rates while snagging excess dollars out of the system. It was hard on us, but since we still had an industrial base, we did okay.

30 years laer, Baby Boy Bush removes the Glass-Steagall Act that prevented derivatives, he started the “war on terror” to give his cronies fat no-bid contracts, and embarked on an inflationary money printing program and a series of bailouts for the half-dozen multinational banks that made the 2008 crash happen.
When they say $14 trillion debt, they don’t ment that the war on terror has been costing us $1 trillion a year. War is always inflationary, and we already had 2 when Obummer took office, and he has expanded that into Pakistan, Libya, Yemen and soon, Syria… probably followed by Iran. We aren’t doing this to secure the oil… indeed the oil is being taken off the market in every case!

The inflation from all of this is only just starting to hit… only about 10% now. We don’t have the industrial base providing jobs any more, thanks to NAFTA and GATT. We don’t have rule of law governing financial institutions any more, thanks to 30 years of lobbying to remove the laws against derivatives and casino banking.

The dollar is toast. I predict that we will be seeing riots in the US beginning this fall.

So! Literally speaking, “THE BUCK STOPS HERE” Well, well, well; and I only had Paul Harvey’s visionary ability and could deliver “The rest of the story.” For all of the evidences he would have presented – much like many of the above comments – all seem minuscule in the light of the day when we lose hope for a miracle.

  • Trojan Horus

And Reagan – who bankrupted California and then the Federal coffers doesn’t warrant a mention?? The man couldn’t balance 2 quarters if he held one in each hand

  • Chris

Not so fast, Myers. You are letting the real culprits off the hook. It was the secret meeting of bankers that led to the establishment of the FED in 1913. That certainly was the first bullet. Richard Nixon fired the final bullet when he disconnected the dollar from gold. It has been downhill ever since for the dollar with an appearance of wealth for the average American worker. Now the American worker has come to realize that his/her wealth is mostly smoke and mirrors, and a lot of devalued dollars.

If you write from a slanted viewpoint, you are not a reporter or researcher; you are just a propagandist.

Something you left wing crazeys don`t know. Ben Bernanke our great Fed Chairmen is a cousin of the Rothschilds of England. But then
again, 99% of you don`t know who the Rothschilds are. Find out what George Soros, Jacob Rothschild and his son Anthony Rothschild have in common. It might shed a little in those P brains of yours, then maybe not. You people can only digest the lies the main street media tells you and this is probley to deep for you to comprehend anyway.

I wish more folks would pay attention to this kind of stuff Charles. It gets frustrating but it is good to see people begin to wake up. Thankyou and keep up the sharing.

Charles: Why do you continue to spew this anti semi-tic rhetoric day after day.Do you hate Jews that much or are you just jealous of their wealth and think they should give you some of their fortunes.Soros and the Rothschilds earned their money the hard way and took chances and won.So if you are a loser, sucks to be you, but try and be a little kinder to your fellow man.Have a good day.
