While IRS Targeted Tea Party It Also Put On Workshops To Help Black Preachers Spread Obama Message

Reports indicate that even as the Internal Revenue Service was placing undue scrutiny on the tax-exempt status of conservative groups, top government officials were advising black preachers on how to engage in political activity without endangering their tax exempt status leading up to the 2012 Presidential election.

According to The Daily Caller, Attorney General Eric Holder and then-IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman, and Peter Lorenzetti, a senior official at the agency, attended a May 2012 training session for members of the Conference of National Black Churches. The training session was organized by the Congressional Black Caucus.

“We’re going to, first of all, equip them with the information they need to know about what they can say and what they cannot say in the church that would violate their 501(c)(3) status with the IRS,” said Representative Emanuel Cleaver (D-Missouri), who chaired the CBC at the time. “In fact, we’re going to have the IRS administrator there. We’re going to have Attorney General Eric Holder there…the ACLU.”

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley told The Daily Caller that he saw a number of major problems with the workshop.

“I viewed the meeting as highly problematic. Eric Holder heads the agency that prosecutes organizations who give false information to the government. The Justice Department coordinates with the IRS on actions taken against not-for-profits. These ministries are given not-for-profit status on the basis that they are not engaging in any political activities. Here, the Obama administration was clearly encouraging them to maximize their efforts by showing them where the lines were drawn in federal case law,” he said.

In other news, this week it was revealed that Lois Lerner, the former director of exempt organizations at the IRS, lied to Congress and was directly involved in targeting conservative groups.

Via The Wall Street Journal:

In a February 2011 email, Ms. Lerner advised her staff—including then Exempt Organizations Technical Manager Michael Seto and then Rulings and Agreements director Holly Paz—that a Tea Party matter is ‘very dangerous,’ and is something ‘Counsel and [Lerner adviser] Judy Kindell need to be in on.’ Ms. Lerner adds, “Cincy should probably NOT have these cases.”

Obama Administration narrative officially destroyed.

The conspiracy is simply just to thick in Washington. To avoid a violent revolution, I feel that we should work for dissolution. When the unjust are praised, and the just are despised, then all you can do is be destroyed.

True, but just slightly easier said than done. I’ve come to the conclusion that the whole thing (US) is “coming down” one way or the other. It will not be without violence- at least an attempted police state type of situation by the socialists. If it “comes back” at all it will be through regional nations- but EVERYONE can’t move to Texas (and they’re trying hard to make that a “blue” state, as well, through amnesties and lax immigration).

It will end so, SO poorly for the liberals everywhere when it does come down.

When we come back up it will be a MUCH better America with laws that we won’t let their ‘feelings’ get in the way of.

There are two ways to destroy a nation. Kill everyone or destroy what they believe in.

Progressive communists take the latter route until the population wises up – then the killing starts.

Obama’s political mentor, William Ayers, came from a communist terrorist group that estimated they would have to murder about 25 million Americans who would resist “fundamental transformation” of the nation. That estimate is probably higher today, as the DHS is trained to kill ‘terrorists’ in Uncle Sam hats.

What’s so attractive about being a progressive Communist?? Do they not realize that only hell and death await them?? When Jesus is just a belief away from them. They’re giving up everything for nothing. People are so sad.

this alone should be reason enough to have holder and the rest of the liberals in a prison cell and be in gen pop!

Abolish the IRS — Repeal the 16th amendment — eliminate all federal withholding — http://www.FairTax.org & HR-25 will help restore religious freedom and free us all from the financial chains that government has put us in.

  • independent thinker

At least as far back as Clintons first run for the presidency and possibly even further the black churches have gotten away with being very political in their support for democrat candidates.

Yes — I recall Bill speaking at a black church with his phony southern black accent.

The accent was only half phony as he grew up with blacks.

    • Deerinwater

This is very true Independent Thinker ~ you are correct. ~ While any church I would attend and support does not and will not pontificate national politics from the pulpit. ~ i would raise strong objection

America has made some drastic changed since it’s early beginnings. ~ There was a time, ~before radio and mass media when the church house was considered the hub of civic life of the community. ~ The size of a community was considered by the distance a horse and wagon could travel comfortably there and back in one days time.

To get the votes needed to ever secure a position for any level of government require voter familiarity and a majority vote~ and what better place could large groups of voters be reached ~ but the church house? ~

It was not an overt , in your face solicitation for support ~ but more of a “see me, see my works, my commitments ” ~ “know my name, know my family, know my deeds.

Any partisan politicking activities should be and was carried out behind closed doors in meeting of among deacons, ~ It is the deacons that is responsible for the direction of the church and not the pastor.

Yet we see, ~ this is not always the case ~ Rev. Wright affords us a perfect example ~ not to mention Jim Jones and a host of other exceptions. Pastors that have led the congregation in the care astray from the truth and the light. ~ This is a lacking among deacons that permits such events to occur.

And this is exactly why ~ we shall, and we must have a separation of Church and State. As we find the devil works double time on Pastors and they are only men ~ or women and not immune to the devils handy works.

And why, ~ The Tea Party will never , ever, in a million years enjoy my support ~ while we can agree on the need for change on many issues.

  • Buck

    Pay your taxes.

  • MANNY

APPARENTLY THE “SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE” DOESN’T APPLY HERE AS THE WHITE LIBERALS LOOK AWAY AND THE CHURCH OF SATAN (I.E. BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY AND APOSTATE “CHRISTIANS”) CONTINUES DOWN TO THE PIT WITH THEIR LUCIFERIAN INDUCED SELF- RIGHTOUSNESS AND BELIEF IN SO-CALLED “SOCIAL JUSTICE”. PRAY FOR ‘EM? GUESS WE OUGHTA. YOU CAN’T TEACH STUPID.

  • Deerinwater

Federal monies “cannot be used” to carry out these alleged activities of the church ~ Period.

    Where is this alleged “Reports”?

The Daily Caller is a 24-hour news publication providing its audience with original …The fiscally conservative movement finds it can’t avoid taking a stand on …

Is The Daily Caller offering this report? ~ Evidently so ~ This “Report” is “Commentary” ~ slanted commentary in fact. ~

Sam, ~ nice try ~ but no cigar. ~

You say, “Reports indicate that even as the Internal Revenue Service was placing undue scrutiny on the tax-exempt status of conservative groups, top government officials were advising black preachers on how to engage in political activity without endangering their tax exempt status leading up to the 2012 Presidential election.”

When a large group of peoples claim a title identifying themselves and go about systematically violation tax code and bring down attention on themselves ~ you would claim a reactive respond as “Undue”???? ~ That does not sound very “Conservative” to my ears.

Would Tea Party activists bother to come to such a informative meeting? ~ Evidently not, ~ and explains why they find themselves in trouble today.

A refusal on the part of the extreme far right to parlay, negotiate or compromise with anything remotely associated with the current administration has created this conflict ~ conflict that the extreme far right revels in, it would seem. ~ Well? ~ Haha! ~

Would you care to make a small wager on who wins this dirty sock fight? ~The only win here for these tax offenders is to have a reason to be annoyed, disappointed and disillusioned. Which places them right back to where they started from with “Zero” gains and penalties to pay,

Congratulations! ~ you have just shot off your big toe! ~ But you still have one more. ~ Care to try for two?
