What’s One Man’s Meat Is Another Man’s Poison

Many millions of people have digestion problems, and some do all their lives. How do I know? Just walk up and down the aisle of your local pharmacy or convenience store.

There must be thousands of synthetic high-profit products that reach out for your stomach. They are beautifully packaged, but most of them are worse than worthless. They are downright harmful, especially if they mask the symptoms of digestive problems.

Digestive distress is a high signal that something is bad wrong. Either you are low on stomach acid or you have food allergies.

The truth is that some foods just don’t like us. But when most foods don’t, we need to be concerned. It is not something to fool around with.

I had a doctor offer me Prevacid® a few years ago with the straightest face. Not to worry. This is what American medical schools are turning out.

It is not the good whole foods that our stomachs don’t like. It is processed foods, or so-called foods, that give the trouble. And you know what? Most folks don’t know the difference!

Gluten sensitivity is a well-known problem for many unfortunate souls. The culprit is lectins, and they accumulate until they translate into headaches, skin problems, stomach cramps, bloating, weight gain, daily fatigue, mucus buildup, joint stiffness, inflammation, belching and flatulence. These are the symptoms of the saturation of lectin in our digestive system.

    As we get older we lose our ability to produce stomach acid. Whatever decade you are, you have lost that much stomach acid. If you are 60, you have lost 60% of your stomach acid. It is very important and cheap to maintain your acid levels. When your stomach acid is low, you do not digest food or absorb the nutrients that you take. Dr Jonathan Wright attributes hip fractures to lack of stomach acid which prevents your nutrients from being absorbed. I tried an experiment once when I had heartburn, I took more stomach acid and it went away. So, the heartburn was caused by lack of stomach acid, not too much like the antacid commercials want you to think.

    Add some HCI with Betaine to your routine and you will benefit from it greatly


    One thing that seems to be standard practice in our society is to have a drink with our meal. Any liquids taken in WITH the food dilutes the acid available in the stomach. There are many articles out there that say “no liquids 30 minutes prior too or after eating.” Since this affects the PROFITS of the beverage industry this advice is naturally suppressed. For us Seniors it stands to reason that liquids WITH meals will further suppress the already low acid levels. Logical deduction should tell us to stop guzzling that beverage WITH our meal. Try it. The results may amaze you.

    There is no wonder people have problems with digestion. Even health problems should be expected. All you have to do is take a close look at what the good old TRUSTED USDA allows companies to put in the food we eat. It is a wonder we are not dropping like flies.
    The USDA allows additives and processing that other countries have banned. The US is far from where we were at being great. I guess we should not be surprised that the USDA sucks.They are after all another government agency. They are concerned about money and power. Nothing else.

      I have spent time in Scotland, Switzerland, and Italy, and the food there was just wonderfully fresh-tasting. Perhaps this is why.

    I used to have stomach issues for years and would take Rolaids or tums, it turns out these were the source of my problems and it was just a constant battle with acid buildup and reducers,Quit the Tums and Rolaids and no problem ever since.Now I eat perhaps four yogurt every couple of weeks and everything is fine.

    The main reason for digestive problems is simply the fact that humans were never designed to eat meat. Now I have to admit I do enjoy a good size steak myself. Our stomachs do not produce sufficient acid to break down meat. Take for example a wild lion in Africa, its main diet consists of raw fresh meat, however a lions stomach produces an acid fifty times stronger than ours. As you can see a lions stomach was designed to break down meat. The bottom line is if our stomachs do not produce the acid necessary to breakdown certain foods then realistically we should not be eating that food.
