What Websites Do You Read?

What Websites Do You Read?

In response to hundreds of reader inquiries—well, at least three—I’m going to devote this week’s column to describing some of the other websites I read every week. If some in the list below are new to you, I hope you’ll check them out. You may find yet another “must read” columnist you’ll want to check out every week.

But we’re also going to practice equal time here. I encourage you to use the comments section at the end of this week’s Straight Talk to tell me about a writer or website you find especially worthwhile. After all, the more readers the good guys and gals get, the better for all of us.

So what do I read every week? Here are nearly a dozen columns and columnists I commend to your attention.

*Personal Liberty Digest. What did you expect? Of course I’m going to mention my own publisher first. After all, this is where you’ll find three of my efforts every week—Straight Talk and Chip Shots on Friday and This Week in History on Wednesday. But PLD publishes a bunch of other important stuff every week. I find the columns by Bob Livingston and John Myers especially worth reading. I like the book reviews and letters to Bob as well. If www.personalliberty.com is not already white-listed as one of your favorites you should do that now.

*Human Events does triple duty for me. The weekly newspaper is one of the oldest conservative publications in the country. It’s been produced continuously since 1944, and while it’s sometimes a tad too “Republican” for me, every issue has a story that the mainstream media have somehow missed.

But Human Events isn’t just a newsweekly. It is also home to several columnists, including two of my all-time favorites, Ann Coulter and Pat Buchanan. Pat’s knowledge of history and his powerful defense of Americanist values are simply unmatched. And nobody can skewer liberals faster or with more deadly accuracy than Coulter. I usually like what she says; but I often love how she says it.

Thank goodness she gave up a law practice for journalism. Find them (and many others, including Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee and Chuck Norris) at www.humanevents.com.

*The New American is both a twice-a-month publication and an invaluable website; both are jam-packed with articles and opinion pieces you simply won’t find anywhere else. The magazine was formed by the merger of two previous publications—American Opinion, where I once contributed several articles, and The Review of the News, where I was the original news editor. TNA is owned by the John Birch Society, so you can count on getting a hard-right interpretation of the major stories of the day. Check it out at www.thenewamerican.com.

*Gary Bauer’s “End of Day Report.” I have long suspected that Gary is triplets; otherwise I don’t understand how he accomplishes as much as he does. His commentary on the day’s events in Washington is, as his website says, “unapologetically pro-family, pro-life, and pro-growth.” It is also unmistakably pro-Israel and pro-Christian. No pabulum here, nothing but strong red meat. See for yourself at www.cwfpac.com.

*Best of the Web Today (The Wall Street Journal Online). Nobody can accuse James Taranto of being unbiased. There isn’t a liberal politician or pundit he doesn’t delight in exposing. And I’ve got to tell you, he does it a lot better than most. He does it in depth, on several topics, nearly every day of the week. Unfortunately, this one is not a freebie—you have to be a subscriber to the online version of The Wall Street Journal to get it. But The Journal publishes so much other worthwhile material (including Peggy Noonan every Saturday) that I recommend signing up. Go to www.online.wsj.com and see if you don’t agree.

Politics isn’t all I read about, of course. In fact, my literary consumption these days is pretty evenly divided between politics, economics and history—with the occasional mystery story thrown in. So now let’s shift from the political battlegrounds to the economic ones. Here are some of my favorite financial websites.

*The Daily Reckoning was started by my friend Bill Bonner—the founder and president of Agora Publications—a dozen years ago, when he decided to “figure out this Internet thing.” What began as a daily commentary sent to a few friends over the Internet has grown into a publishing phenomenon, with a large stable of contributors—so many, in fact, that the daily ezine can’t hold them all. Nobody tells “truth to power” better than Bill. See for yourself at www.dailyreckoning.com.

*John Mauldin and Gary Halbert are two other friends who write a column every week about some truly important issues. John concentrates more on the economic side of the ledger (and often gives you more charts in one issue than I want to see in a month). But for those who like really thoughtful—and thought-provoking—economic analysis, go to www.investorsinsight.com and read a couple of his articles. Chances are you’ll be back for more.

While you’re at the Investors Insight website, do yourself a favor and read Gary Halbert’s latest essay. I particularly like the way Gary takes one major subject each week and really gnaws on it for a while. I have found his research to be impeccable, his analysis sound, and his conclusions sometimes frightening but always thoughtful. He is definitely another “worth your time” writer.

*Daily Wealth gives more genuinely valuable contrarian investment advice than any other website I know of. And they do it for free (if you don’t count all the ads you’ll receive) six times a week. I’ve known many of their columnists for years and consider them personal friends. But friendship aside, let me assure you, you could do a lot worse than to listen to Steve Sjuggerud, Tom Dyson and Daily Wealth’s other contributors. You’ll find them at www.dailywealth.com.

So there you have it—almost a dozen columnists and commentators who are on my “must read” list every week. Of course there are many other writers whose work I enjoy and many other websites I use in my research. But these are the ladies and gentlemen I would read every week, whether I had a column to write or not.

So please give them a look; you just might like them. And not only like them, but learn from them as well.

Now, I look forward to learning from you.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

American Thinker is an excellent site Charlie and so are your comments. Great articles and most of those that post there are very politicaly informed.

By all means “American Thinker” is a real winner.

If you care to actually hear the truth, there is only one news outlet, and that is Fox News. If you want the left wing liberal propaganda with an agenda, then tune into ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and MSNBC. You will get your fill of out and out lies to support their own pitiful agenda.

    • marvin

      Beberoni add cnn and hln

      • http://?? Joe H.

        marvin,
Let’s not forget BBC. I get a lot of news on it that I don’t get on the alphabet news!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

        I have CNN on there.

        • Harley

          Beberoni:

I have to ask… What do you find so great about the Clinton News Network aka CNN???

    • Michael J.

      Beberoni,
I agree with you completely. However, I have found a good use for watching MSNBC. On occasion, after eating something that does not agree with me and I feel the urge to purge, I found that watching Kieth Matthews, Chris Olberman or Rachel Mannow can be the equivalent of sticking my finger down my throat. So in essence, their product is not a complete loss, it contains medicinal value.

      • banndavis

I could not have stated it better myself!

      • Norm

        Michael J.
        Rachel Maddow
        Keith Olbermann
        Chris Matthews
I can see how much you’ve watched their shows.

        • Michael J.

Ah, ya gotme there Normie Babie. Ya see, with this cast iron gut, I don’t get ill often. So there is seldom a necessity for me to stomach those Three Stooges. BTW, when is Moe Mannow gonna get one of those Kirk Douglas cleft chin digits? That’s the only thing needed to complete the image.

            Michael J.,

Is this the Michael J. (from Texas) that always rides in on his “prarie dog”? Sure sounds like it…..and sure hope it is! Great to see your posts on here.

As usual….Norm must have been attending another meeting of the mindless…so guess he missed the part of your comments where you said “on occasion”.

          • Michael J.

            Howdy Fed up Gal,
Good to hear from you, havn’t seen your postings in awhile. As for myself, I tend to monitor things here and do less posting until the Obambie Zombies come out. Then I sorta reach down from above and whack-em back into shape, Heh,Heh,Heh.
Unil next time, keep up the fight, and remember, “2012 The End of an ERROR”

          • Fed Up Gal in NM

            Hey there Michael,

I have not been posting very much lately either; lots going on at home and work…so not as much time. I took a few days off and am getting a couple of home chores up to snuff and have had a little more time to post on here the past couple of days.

I will be glad when the PL website updates are completed and hope they will add some tools to use for sorting topics and posters by name, date, etc….which should save a lot of time and enable me to participate more consistently…not to mention reduce my tendonitis flare-ups (mostly from scrolling to find new comments, etc)…LoL. Until then, I will just try and check in on occassion in hopes of viewing posts by friends like you, Libertytrain, JoeH, DaveH and many others whose posts make me think, sometimes reonsider my viewpoints, and always make me smile.

            Have a great week Michael!

          • Fed Up Gal in NM

Ooooops! I left out Jeff H, Beberoni, AngelWannaBe, Claire and others I’m sure. Sorry about that; wasn’t meant to be a slight.

          • rwnut

            mICHAEL j….I’m lovin’ it!

          • DaveH

            Fed Up Gal,
You can use your Browser’s Find Function to easy highlight all comments by a particular person on your current web page. You can also use it to search by date. The character strings need to be exact, but not complete. So, for example, putting in Soc would result in Socialist, Soccer, or Socrates being found.
If you want to find something on the entire website, use your browser’s Search feature and the qualifier “Site:” with the website’s name immediately following and then space with search name or phrase. Say, for instance, I wanted to search for everything Al Sieber has said on this site. I would type “site:personalliberty.com Al Sieber says” (without the quotes) in my browser’s search field.

          • DaveH

Correction: “site” needs to be lowercase as in the example.

          • Fed Up Gal in NM

            Dave H,

OMGoodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for the information on how to use my browser for searching on PL’s site for specific posters, comments, etc. I will definitely give this a try (especially during the week and when I have less time to devote here). That will surely help until PL updates the site as Bob Livingston mentioned a few months ago. Thanks again, Dave!

P.S. BTW — I use my browser for searching lots of info; I just didn’t know I could use my browser for searching something while in a specific website page (I thought the only search option while in that site, would be the site’s search field). Just to clear up, so I don’t look completely computer illiterate :-).

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Fed Up Gal,
I feel honored to be included on that list, thank you!!!

          • Fed Up Gal in NM

Anytime JoeH. I’m in great company!

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

What was Rachel Maddow’s name when she was a man before her operation?

      • Da Norseman

Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow. During the heydays of the old Soviet Union and the Cold War, any state-run media outlet over there would have been more than happy to embrace those three for their anti-American views, especially Olbermann who probably would have received medals worn like the ones worn by those dying Bolsheviks in the Politburo like Brezhnev, Andropov and Chernenko.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Keith Olberman is an upchuck waiting to happen. I have never seen a person ever pervert the truth like that man does. He sucked when he was on ESPN and couldnt even report sports in the truth.

    • http://infowars.com Rick

fox news is certainly better than the others mentioned however they are basically “one worlders” with rupert murdoch at the helm and a
saudi prince owning a significant equity portion of fox.

also pse let it be noted that fox new is pro war, pro staying in irag forever pro staying in afghanistan forever and pro attacking iran. where are we going to get the money for this since the country is already broke about 10x over. also what are the goals of being in irag & afghanistan…i have absolutely no idea..do you?? is it to fight the taliban which emerged from the muhahadeed which was set up by our cia??? you tell me!! also i think we should pull all resources out of afganistan & irag and concentrate on our southwest border where us citizens’ property rights and right to life are being violated every day. the only websites that approach delivering the truth are infowars.com and zerohedge.net…ever hear of either of these???

      • Pathfinder

Yes, I have heard of infowars. I don’t use them much; but the few times I have, they were fine. Let me second Chip’s recomendation of THE NEW AMERICAN. I have been so favorably impressed by TNA that I am a subscriber. I am especially impressed by their “Freedom Index” issue which lists voting records for ALL senators and representatives. I have not tried AMERICAN THINKER before; but based on recomendations here, I think I will give that a try.

      • Bob

I like Infowars because they have alot of good patriotic guests like Jesse Ventura, Bob Chapman, Paul Craig Roberts and many others.
Try American Free Press.net or Chuck Baldwin Live.com. Chuck Baldwin has a list of patriotic preachers in every state and businesses that you can patronize
For health info go to Natural Solutions Foundation.com. Also very good.

    • Norm

      Beberoni

Fox is right wing extremism. MSNBC is left wing extremism. CNN and the majors are fairly straight and neutral.
You just happen to think the far right is the middle

      • DaveH

        Norm,
You have been watching extreme left news so long that the Middle-ground looks like far-right to you.
Take those blinders off. Read some alternative points of view. It won’t hurt too much, I promise.

        • Norm

          DaveH
I watch and read almost everybody’s point of view. I agree with some and not with others.
Judging from Chip’s reading list, he and most folks on this site, are not quite as open minded.
May I suggest you read Mother Jones Online and the New York Time’s web site just for balance.

          • DaveH

            Norm,
I grew up with the biased Liberal Media. I’ve read enough of their pie-in-the-sky crap to last the rest of my years. So, no thanks.

          • Claire

            Norm–Do you read The Nation?

          • Pathfinder

Norm : I think that you are confusing an open mind with a hole in the head.

          • Pathfinder

Norm : I find that the New Yuck Times is about as truthful as The Globe and The Weekly World News I don’t bother with such fishwrap. Besides, I can always count on all the liberal sheeple to rebleat what they have been told by the American Brainwash Corporation (ABC), the National Brainwash Corporation (NBC), the Columbia Brainwash System (CBS), the Misinformed Syncophants of NBC (MSNBC), and the Clinton News Network (CNN). So I am well informed regarding the message of these “fair and balanced” news outlets. BTW, weren’t these the same news stations that told the American public that Obama was a “moderate” ??

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Norm, I highly suggest you read a book called “Hell to Pay”. It involves some of your hero’s. You might want to read it and find out a few things.

          • http://none Chip Wood

I read the New York Times on line every day. Well, let me correct that. I skim as much of it as I can stand. I do sometimes read their columnists and editorials, so I know what the enemies of freedom will be doing next.

            Chip Wood

      • TIME

Oh Yes Norm, CBS and ABC, MSN, oh yes NBC of what MSNBC is the parent Co. of both MSN and NBC ~~~WOW ~~~ and thats such a stretch for that vast pool of brain power that you display daily.

Yes, for sure thay are all just super news outlets for that “fair and well balanced non bias news” that you speak of.

Kind of makes me think back to 9 / 09 when only the German & Italian news as well as the BBC got the proper count of well over 1.5 Million people who went to DC, and yet on NBC and all the rest there were just a few thousand people there according to that “FAIR and WELL BALANCED” news you speak of.

That logic kind of flys in the face of TRUTH, keeping in mind that there were { NO Hotels No Motels, or any other kind of logging avaliable} for 3 days during this event.

Let alone DC Police, The Hill Police, The Park Police, The FBI, The CIA, The Capatil Police, and The SS, The NSA, all are quoted that no “less” than 1.4 million people were in attendance at this event.

But again why let the “Facts or the TRUTH” stand in the way of such fine Rhetoric that one can be lulled into with the outstanding news nets you speak so highly of.

And is it not Strange how TIME Magazine seemed to forget that the TEA PARTY was a major part of 2009, or that the 9 /09 even even took place!

You know Norm the news nets you speak of I am shocked you failed to note the best of them, Vlad Tepes the Impaler’s net, you know “Dracula’s” news network its even better than NBC, or CBS an ABC, for really fair and well balanced news.
Just watch it afterall its also owned by the same people as NBC and all the rest the Great news nets you quote are so good.

        • Norm

          TIME
You sure have an attidude problem. That’s odd for a good black Christian. You did say you were black didn’t you?

          • TIME

Oh Norm, For Gods sake dude being any color is a state of mind, and only if you allow yourself to be a victim.
You are what you make of yourself, I am not a Victim.

Nor will I eat cow pies down at the old Marxist Bar & Grill and think I am eating a Black Angus Buger due to Uberman or Madcow telling me it is, and if kaite told me the sun was out, man you bet I would check for myself.
I also I know I am not eating my uncle Angus.

You claim I have a bad attitude ~~ dude, You make me LMAO,;-)
My caustic attidude is no differant than any real A type, its part of the package. I also have a very clear knowledge of whos who in the game, something your clearly not on board with.

Now you have a nice day, go watch Some Vlad Tepes Impaler network news.
Its gurranteed to “stick to your ribs and leave you standing” every time. ;-)

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Time,
norm seems to get a large diet of the NY slimes!! I guess that DOES explain his case of liberal constipation!!!

          • Oh Please…

LOL…all I can say Norm is that it is PATHETICALLY laughable for you to state that TIME has an attitude problem when it is sooo obvious (through this and a number of your other posts) that it is YOUR attitude that has issues. Since you claim to have such an ‘open mind’ I suggest you open it a little further and actually try to digest what TIME has to say….perhaps you might learn something!

          • Norm

            Time
Me Tarzan you Jane. I am THE alpha male.
Give me a break. You are not only arrogant, but a obviously a legend in your own mind. Lapp up that Alpo you dog you!

          • Norm

            Oh Please
I’ll digest what Time has to say when he has something sensible to say. All I see is an arrogant little man pretending to be something he’s not – intelligent.

          • TIME

            Oh Norm,
You know some day when the light goes on your going to awake to a whole new world.

Now really Norm you know I crap chunks of people larger than you daily, thats why you say the stupid things over and over to me.
Just as I will glady insult you time after time, as I see right through you like a clear glass window.

I have no issue with folks being in disagreement with me, but they have to have some “common sense,” thats something you lack totaly.

You have lived your life in a “safe little tight box” and never ventured out to see the real world around you.

Something I just could not do, as for me it was to live my dreams and I have done so and will continue to do so, and if that means to insult quasi Liberals; then I will do it with a smile it my JOB as an REAL AMERICAN.

I hate posers & I hate marxist, man you are a real hard core case of a total poser. Also keep in mind this word Norm, {Syntax} I do know far more about “all of you” than you know, thats part of what I have to know for my job.

Also lets get real Norm, the facts are you hate the idea that someone of color made it on their own.

So – don’t give me that do do goodie Quasi Liberal BS. I deal with your type daily and have done so for the last 60 years or, all my life, so I am a real expert on this topic.

Thus I know one, when I see one, I bet your calling me the N word right now, as the term “little arrogant” from your post is what everyone calls anyone of us who dare step out of the little box’s people like you make for us.

You know what Norm, there still HOPE for you, So you just keep on keeping on Norm Bro! :-)

          • kate8

Way to go, TIME. You wiped the floor with ol’ Normie.

BTW, TIME, I find your posts enlightened and refreshing, with a perspective that not all of us have. Norm is just sour grapes. I rarely even bother to read his posts.

          • TIME

            Kate,

I find it so sad that the standards the “quasi liberals” use are so preverted, yet I read / hear and listen to the drum beats of being “open minded.”

Saddly all from persons who are 99.99% so closed minded that its more like quad fold a steel trap without air vents.

Hows that open minded? BTW, Thanks for the kind words.

          • Pathfinder

Hey Norm : If TIME is not a liberal; then he is NOT really black, right ?? Norm, you have just shown yourself to be a racist pig. Why can’t blacks be conservative ?? I’ll bet you throw oreo cookies at Thomas Sowell, or Walter Williams whenever you are within range to do so.

          • Bruce

            Norm Sir,
I know TIME well and let me dispell your delusions.
TIME is the most genuine down to earth big hearted people I have ever known. He puts his money where his mouth is he puts his time and enerys into projects and never stops until he gets results.
He got a local Hospital to set up a FREE clinic for really sick kids whos parents work but just don’t have the extra money to pay out or the take the chance of loosing their jobs taking time off work.
He pays out of his pocket yearly what I make just to make sure that this stays running and he has never asked for anything in return not even to be noted as the one who did it.
Last year he set up a program for kids with cancer that they get to meet Rock & Roll stars, Base Ball stars, or ride a horse, or just to go on a trip to someplace they want to go.
This is the man you make such mean statments about.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You fail to consider Norm, that a lot of us have seen things, and know the facts on things, then when we turn on some of these liberal whack jobs, and know without a doubt they are lying through their teeth, so why would we bother watching them? Sometimes Norm it is so obvious that they are lying to support their agenda or protect one of their liberal beliefs, that I dont understand why anyone would tune back in to thier drivel. I wont. And Im no rocket scientist Norm, but boy do I hate liars and being lied to, and when these liberals do it, and know they are doing it, and expect me to believe it because they said so, no no Normy, homey dont play that. Im not participating in their lets tell a lie show. If you cant tell the difference between truth and lies, then its you that has the problem, not me.

      • Alex

MSNBC is to the Left, for sure. But not far Left, not by a long shot!
There is no far Left outlet that I can find on teevee, and I watch satellite—the closest to my way of thinking is LinkTV. Aside from LinkTV, PBS and MSNBC, for the most part represent my views, though they do not go far enough Left.

The Left is right, and always has been.

        • Gorba

It’s what they don’t report that makes them far left

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Exactly Gorba, exactly. They dont report the truth, because it would expose their guys. My gosh, could you imagine the reporting if Bush wanted to plant an Islamic Tower on 9-11 ground? This is outrageous that this muslim president wants to do this, and it shows his colors. The national news media should be crucifying him for this, but they paint it pink and soften it and make it so its ok. Unbelievable. All the democrats that got caught cheating on taxes, it just went away didnt it. Amazing again. Gee, do you think if a Republican or Libertarian did this crap, that they would glaze it over and make it go away. No, I think not. You are exactly right Gorba. Its what they dont report that shows their demonic left color.

If it is, indeed, right; then why is it called LEFT. (OK, OK I know. The French parliment had royalists on the right etc.) Still, I trust you can see the irony in insisting that the right is not right. LOL

      • Dora

Boy Norm, you really should get your blinders off. MOST of the news has sold out to Socialism, Marxism or Communism. Go to your search engine and type in 45 Long Term Communist Goals for America which was filed in our congressional records in 1963 and read them and see how far America has gone on the road to Socialism – all three of the isms drink from the same cup.

        • Norm

Stay away from the 3 stooges, Glenn, Sean, and Rush, and you may actually learn something that’s not twisted and distorted.

          • Vicki

            Norm.
The 3 stooges Glen, Sean and Rush are entertainers. Just as are the 3 stooges Olbermann, Matthews and Maddow.

The KEY difference is that OMM attack people with their humor while GSR attack policies with theirs.

Norm : I found the three stooges to be Obama, Pelosi, and Reid. But the original Moe, Larry, and Curly were much funnier and less annoying.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

That is Norm, if you are afraid of the truth, then yes, stay away from Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh, because even though you hate them, and its your right to do that if your that little of a person, but I challenge you to catch them lying? It doesnt happen Norm. They speak the truth, it constantly, and I mean constantly exposes your guys lies and lack of sensibility. You cannot refute that Norm, or you sir, refuse to acknowledge the truth. And the truth Norm, will set you free.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

The thing is Norm, you can get more truth reading the National Enquirer than you will get reading the liberal rags you indulge in.

        • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

Dora, thanks for your insight. I am a Full-Blood Indian (Three Tribes) went to an all Indian Christian College “Bacone” in Muskogee, Oklahoma, in the early 50′s. I’m not too impressed with “Normie” however most of you take him too seriously, ignore him, he has a tunnel vision.
I am a Capitalist Indian love to make money and share it with whom I damn please, and don’t like taxation (It’s Slavery) have never taken a damn nickel from the damn Gov’t. Never will, I’ve taken care of my own working smarter and learning how to compound my investments and make it on my own. Why am I stating this you all may ask, well thanks to my Christian up bringing, conservative parents, that were not “Hang around the Fort Indians” waiting for the Gov’t handouts. I learned how to grease my own vehicle.
My Junior year in College I was introduced to the YAF (Young Americans for Freedom) and Congressman Victor Wickersham he gave us a copy of “Facts on Communism” Volume I, The Communist Ideology, Committee on Un-American Activities House of Representatives 86th Congress First Session, December 1959.. it is the House Document No. 336. Available at U.S. Government Printing Office Washington: 1960 ( Superintendent of Documents). This one is for you Norm.
This introduction at my early stage in life made me very aware of the Domestic dangers via visa many of the progressives in our Republic. I love my Country, my Republic, “my Indian Country” and will fight against our enemies as did all of my fore-Fathers and Mothers.
And Norm don’t insult my Intelligence by giving me the same old BS, Look at what the White Man did to your People, I know both sides of that history, The Plight of American Indians today is the “Damn Government” and all of its controls and regulations from cradle to grave. CFR 21 Manual “INDIANS” will tell you what the real story is and how government controls our people. And for your information the most devastating government damages bestowed upon American Indians ( Historically) has been by Democrats! Federal Indian Removal Acts/ Federal Indian Reservations to name a couple, look it up Norm, Republican President Richard M. Nixon Signed P.L. 93-638 The American Indian Self Determination Act, guess what Political Party opposes our Self Determination. Now if this does not widen your tunnel vision, do some serious research on Treaties Made Treaties Broken, that’s Government for you Norm. The only promise Government kept, was to take away our lands and they took them, that’s Government for you Norm. We were the first target and today you are the targets! it’s about Communistic totalitarian control from cradle to grave.
I’ll finish with this “Indian Joke”, My fellow academics and I were searching for the first Treaty signed by the Government with our people and we finally found it, Library of Congress Ancient Archives Section, In it, it stated that for all the lands we seceded we would receive goods and services for as long as the sun rises from the east and settles on the west, for as long as the little waters run into the big waters, and for as long as the grasses grow, however in very fine print it states, “Or Ninety Days Which Ever Comes First” ! That’s Government for you Norm.
          Ah’Ho – Quira Va

          • Fed Up Gal in NM

Kudos, WIA! Very insightful comments as is your research. You may want to go back and spell out the acronym for CFR for Normie….just to help him out a bit. Oh heck…let me just save you the trouble; Normie it’s Code of Federal Regulations.

I’m being geniune, when I say thank you for your indepth analysis. I’m not to proud to say, it was helpful to me as well.

          • Pathfinder

Kudos WIIA : As the grandson of immigrants who arrived in the early 1900′s I have mixed feelings regarding the decendants of this continant’s original inhabitants. Being unwilling to return the land which was taken from your ancestors, I still feel that your tribes were treated unfairly. I agree with you that those who wait for government handouts are likely to starve. One issue that you might enlighten me on is this. Do American indians have dual citizenship, both tribal and national ? Or do you have to choose ? Please, both excuse and help cure my ignorance here. It has often seemed to me that, when the government wants to deny your rights, they regard you as not US citizens; and when they want something from you, then you are US citizens. Thus, it seems to me that the government wants you to have the obligations of US citizens without the rights of one. Your own analysis of this situation would be most appreciated. My thanks in advance for any light you may shed on thisw subject.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

God bless you man, you are a true American. I hear and feel the finger pointed at my white butt by everybody of a different race here, but you sir, you have the right too, and I am ashamed of what not only was, but what is still being done to the true American, the American Indian. Sure slavery sucked for the black man, but they are over it, and are now President, the highest paid atheletes in the world, leaders of other world countries, and sit on the board of corporations and own what ever they can. They own black only TV stations and black only colleges, and black only this, and black only that, so that race card needs put away, and has needed put away for a long time. The hispanics are free, and always have been. They are even given free money and food and handouts despite being illegal aliens by the millions. What does the American Indian get? We will build a casino for you and bring crime to the reservations we keep you imprisoned on. We took your land, killed your food and wasted it, gave you blankets with diseases on them, took your women and children, and still, your voice isnt heard. I am truly sorry for that, and this episode of America is the only part Im ever ashamed of, and am still ashamed of. God bless you, and have a good day sir.

      • BrotherPatriot

All the main stream media is owned by the same one world order degenerates. None of them speak out about the elites and that’s the way they want it. At best, they doctor up the news & tell us what they want us to hear. For example, on June 1st of this year, Daniel Estulin was invited to speak infront of Parliament about the Bilderbergs…this was a historic moment as it was the first time such a speach was given infront of politions of such standing. Basically, the equivalent of speaking infront of Congress…and there was Zero coverage from the american media…a black out in essense, yet it was covered by foreign papers & media outlets. <— Go figure…so yeah, I don't watch the main stream news anymore as it's a bunch of propoganda to keep the masses buzy/entertained while they continue to break the soveirnity of America & the rest of the world.

If you think any of the MSMedia are impartial or walking the middle…your sadly mistaken. They all have the same Agenda & we are becoming aware of it…no amount of money will save 'em from their Karma.

BroPat, I heartily agree with your assessment. I don’t often watch FoxNews either, except Glenn Beck, because he does have good info. I know enough to see when he’s blowing smoke or deflecting our attention away from something involving things we aren’t supposed to be intersted in. He, and O’Reilly (milqtoast) and Hannity are there to provide a vent for the right, while keeping us in line.

We can’t lose sight of who these people work for. Their aim is keeping us thinking only what they want us to think.

        • Pathfinder

BrotherPatriot : I agree and would like to reinforce your assertions with additional data. If one will check the membership lists of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR); they will find that much of the Lame Stream media are members of this organization as are members of presidential cabinets (both democrat and republican). With so many powerful, high ranking members of business, government, and media ALL members of the same organization, one would suspect suspicions to be arroused. But, thanks to relative silence on the part of media, most Americans don’t even know that the CFR exists.

        • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You know, this Bilderberg thing. If its true, then the United States isnt going to have a say so about nothing. I read the lists of the people who attended this the past two years, and we dont have squat there. Like number 2 guy from this bank, and number 3 or 4 from that place. If we are to let these guys have a hold of us, then I can see a whole lot of their blood running in the streets as soon as it is known to the general public, because I dont think the masses are going to stand for it. And I dont see them ever disarming us, or being able to.

I’m not so sure about Fox News Channel anymore. They used to be the ONLY news channel that I trusted. Now, I don’t even trust them. Beck is a buffoon who blames the people around Obama for manipulating him while giving Obama pass, and O’Reilly is just another Obama apologist. Even though O’Reilly may say something critical about our fuhrer, he usually ends up defending him. Megyn Kelly is an Obama groupie, going so far as not only defending Obama to a guest she had on her show who was highly critical of him she actually yelled at him. No, I just don’t trust ANY of the TV and printed media anymore.

      • DaveH

Thank you Harold, for pointing out to the rad libs that Fox indeed has left-leaning and middle-of-the-road commentators. The fact that they also give time to the Right-Wingers and to the Libertarians is just too much for the Liberals.

        • Vicki

It is however necessary for them to be what they claim. “Fair and balanced” :)

      • Claire

Harold Olsen– I haven’t been too sure about any of the cable TV news stations. Same with talk radio. They are all biased. I will listen to all of them once in a while but form my own opinion. I also read a lot.

      • Warrior

Beck is absolutely dead on with the information he presents. I have yet to see anyone dispute his facts. Instead the objectors just resort to name calling.

The news content of All MSM, including Fox, has become so predictable it isn’t worth watching. Here’s the lead story everyday. Someone was killed or The oil is still spilling out of the gulf on day 265.

Imagine if they were all required to just report sports and weather it would go something like this – The Yankees beat the Rays 2-1. A distant cousin of Alex Rodriquez was killed yesterday by an errant bullet from a gang banger. The gang banger was a drop out of such and such school. The school is short on teachers due to cuts in state spending and so on and so on. Oh yes and Alex went 1-4 with an RBI.

And now for the weather – Well today it’s going to be 96 degrees in Baltimore. The heat wave has caused some rioting on the east side and two people were shot to death. Police are investigating. Oh yes and tomorrow should be around 95 degrees with chance of showers.

MSM just can’t help themselves but to report as much BAD news as they can. Does anyone believe this is by design?

        • leon

The reason that Glenn Back is notreputed is cuse he is exposing BHO agenda. Which comes to him beena Socialist.I never thought that was so many ignorant people in this nation but you have prove me wrong. What do you know about a Socialist nation? most likely not a thing . Why do you think the White House has been trying to contrl Fox? They present both sides Not like the rest of the Media that he Ownes right along with Jorge Soroz a socialist. Who is in this Radical Socialist Admn? The Chicago Mob Crime Inc. The truth hurts, Sorry Charlie! If you like to live in a Socialist Nation go to Venenzuela or Cuba you will be welcome there.

        • http://donthaveone Beberoni

The cant dispute Beck’s facts, because, well, they are just that, facts. The truth is the truth is the truth, and like him or not, the man brings the truth. I have never caught him in a lie, yet the left likes to twist what he says, and put words in his mouth that never came out of them. Thats what they have to do, because he constantly exposes them, and he sights times and places and who said what, and boy oh boy do they hate him for telling the truth and exposing them. But the man speaks the truth, and thats why I will continue to watch him, as I like the truth.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

The reason Beck does that, is because Obama is all powerful. He is the head piece of the democratic party, and thats it. When he is gone, which will be soon, they will put someone else in there. I dont have an ounce of respect for the guy, but do you really think of him as capable of planning out and forming any kind of actions? Have you been watching the last two years? He is just the figure head. Im thinking pretty soon, they will throw him under the bus, and let Hillary run in 2012 because he is unelectable, and they know it. If he was white, they would probably be well on their way in doing this, but they have to advance on this slowly, as they do not want to in any way lose the black vote, so they are trying to figure out how to dump him, without losing the black vote. And you know what, I dont think they can do it. But Beck doesnt give him a free pass, he just knows he isnt the one behind all the baloney they are doing. It is the left wing liberal democrat pacisfist appeasers, and what they do is straight out of their playbook. He is just the figurehead, and thats it, and Beck knows it.

      • Bob

        Free at last Harold.

No network has been caught manipulating as many times as Fox News. No network uses talking points like Fox News. When you can hear the same phrase (talking point) throughout the day from many different talking heads, your news channel drifts perilously close to propaganda not news. You talk about an agenda, the Fox empire takes its direction from Rupert Murdoch’s political views and aspirations. If Fox News were a journalism student, it would fail because it’s not news, it’s opinion, it’s spin. Furthermore, the conservative cause doesn’t need lies and hyperbole, the conservative cause just needs the truth and facts and a credible leader (anyone but Palin).

      • TIME

        Sheldon,

        You would fail at any form of journalism “only” if your not a Neo Marxist;

        As all your post thus far have displayed a keen closeness with such a mind set, {you would be a good little Walter Lippman, Edward Bernays, and George Creel follower.}
Or as anyone who has a clue knows them as the fathers of
        “modern Propaganda.”

So don’t pee on our legs and tells us its raining, ok.

Thanks for your brilliant post, as now its quite clear what you are.

My Journalism Degree would say otherwise.

          • TIME

Sheldon, You just made my point, Penny, Penny, Oh Penny!

          • Peter

            Sheldon —

            Your “journalism degree” says otherwise?

Am I supposed to defer to somebody because they have a journalism degree?

How about my degrees — in the School of Hard Knocks, in Applied Common Sense, in Rugged Individualsim?

I have an ability to be a great listener, and I can grasp someone’s line of reasoning, if they present one without emotion.

What I see presented here by some is stubborn closed-mindedness. Often I get a statement from somebody, then they immediately say, “No further debate necessary!” That, I will tell you, is BS. That is not the free exchange of ideas in an open forum, that is a proclamation.

I am keenly aware of my surroundings, and I am becoming more aware each week. The power of the conservative, Constitution guided movement growing in this nation of sovereign States, is strong. The socialistic, Statist mentality of those drunk on power in D.C. and the coast states, will be pushed back — HARD.

          • Sheldon

            Hey Peter…
I totally agree with you Peter… the School of Hard Knocks with a major in (un)Common Sense is the best education. (Even more so if there’s some dirt under the finger nails from some hard work.)
Are you supposed to defer to my journalism degree? No… but if we’re talking about journalistic integrity I’m suggesting that four years of study would qualify my post as an informed opinion. I’m sure Fox News says what a lot of people want to hear… in my opinion Fox News would be far more effective if it were more credible. There are a lot of good conservative stories and examples to report on and inform the masses without having to slant the truth or parrot the party line.

Many people now turn to the alternative media to get the true news!! one of my favorites is Freedon’s Phoenix…it gives 10 to 20 headlines, and you click on what your interested in!!

    • Bill P

      Beberoni (Aug 13):
Murdock, who directs/owns Fox, isn’t a friend of liberty.
As I see it, he’s a sort-of “false flag” conservative; whose agenda is to lead potential conservative readers/listeners away from the real issues. (I would put Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Michael Savage in that category, also). It is the “Neo-Cons” who have infiltrated the Republican Party who are the culprits. They have an agenda not unlike the progressives. They all want a “One World,” super state, oligarchy. Whereby all us “middle-class” worker bees can be controlled and directed – slave like-to do their bidding.
I’m suspicious that this site is a Neo-Con propaganda device.
What say you? (as Bill O would say).
      Bill, the school bus driver

      • DaveH

I say, Bill, that you are a progressive plant. Newscorp is the only company that has given the light of day to true Freedom lovers such as John Stossel, and Judge Napolitano, and Glenn Beck (who you try to disparage).
Anybody who doubts that, I challenge you to watch One week of Foxnews and Fox Business channel and tell me that they don’t give air time to a wide spectrum of ideas. Thank you Rupert Murdoch.

        • DaveH

Ditto to John Livingston who even allows progressives to post their nonsense.

    • Howie

I have got to agree with you about Fox News. If you really want to get straight answers to what’s going on that’s the place to get it. The only thing about most of the programs is that when they have a speaker that they have invited on the show I wish they would let him or her finish answering the question. I know they have only a certain amount of time but I seem to get the feeling that the narrarator wants to do more of the talking than to let the invited speaker answer the question that has been asked. But, Fox News dose have the best news overall.

  • WDog

Chip, with all respect for your column (which I read regularly)I must insist you open the discussion on economics to the Austrian perspective.. Please invite your readers to consider the Daily Bell, at http://www.thedailybell.com. Covering economics, business trends, politics, and cultural meme’s, the Daily Bell has provided some of the most insightful and though provoking articles of our time.
With that, I pose the question to you and your readers…have we missed the bus entirely by thinking “central banking” has the capacity to outsmart “economics”?

    • s c

WDog, many people on this site have no idea what you’re talking about. It’s a combination of proof that public education doesn’t work and the fact that Americans can get comfy with anything if they let themselves do it.
Progressives have NO idea what you mean (and they don’t want to learn). It’s a sad fact of life that we need to learn political, business, government and religious facts BEFORE we turn 18. Then, it’s up to the individual to sift and sort the crap from the truth.
The best we can do is to filter what we see, hear and read. Part of that process is to rely on very little from newspapers and TV. Books, magazines, the internet and people who have re-educated themselves is “where it’s at.”
      Up the rebels!

      • Bob Wire

I confess ~ the central banking system alludes me. ~ And have more or less accepted whatever “wrong” is there ~ I have no control of.

Am I wrong in this assumption?

        >”The best we can do is to filter what we see, hear and read. Part of that process is to rely on very little from newspapers and TV. Books, magazines, the internet and people who have re-educated themselves is “where it’s at.”<

I understand the nature of your assessment ~ please direct my feet to some 101 introduction to this matter, is that even possible?

        • Ms. B J Zeagler

What a great idea. Sharing reading that one can trust. I personally love Heritage Foundation esp. the Morning Bell. I wouldn’t let a week go by without listening to & reading all transcripts from Rush Limbaugh. I to love Wall Street Journal when I find articles on line.
I love Media Research Center, esp. CyberAlert. I read Redstate Morning Briefing with Erick Erickson. Daily Caller & Natonal Review are new for me & I love them too. Last but not least, Personal Liberty Digest. There is so much good information out everyone should be well informed. There is also some very bad trash floating around & it is good for people to know the good things that they can trust.

As a reader of Human Events since 1946 I’ve learned my position in life. I’m very surprised that I haven’t seen the name Victor Davis Hansen writer, historian and a man who knows how to explain in everyday language what is really happening in relation to history. I’m old enough to know history often repeats it’s self and is a great teacher.

            Bob

        • s c

B, your first mistake was in saying ‘alludes.’ The CORRECT term is ‘eludes.’ Your arrogance is so predictable, B. By the way, did you ever get past a 101 level course in any subject? You have so much to learn, and so little time to do it, progressive.
This topic deals with websites that people read. Can you read? I rarely have a reason to think you ever learned.

          • Bob Wire

I’ll take, that as an anal retentive “NO”, there nothing that you or I can do about it. Which is kind of what I thought, the central banking system is here to stay.

I’ll admit sc, you are in an exclusive club all unto yourself. Thanks for gracing us with your infinite wisdom on such matters and your grammar correction. The next time I have a grammar question, you’ll be the first person that comes to mind.

Considering the printed word makes up the bulk of my political and professional intake, needless to say, I read well enough to be self employed, raise a family, create jobs and be self reliant in spite of government since 1978, which I darn say, few can boast and I have no intentions too.

I must confess, I started out lacking in many ways and have always worked to improve, I consider myself a student to this day. Not such an Authoritarian as you, but wise enough to see charm school and BS both lacking and abundance in your banter with the refusal to address a simple question in a civil manner. ~

My guess is, “one” must buy into a premise ” a package of goods” before any of it starts to make any sense. One must buy the goods to ever obtain the enlightenment that you suggest. They must open their eyes and consider grassy knoll issues.

Why don’t you just admit it ~ if it wasn’t for other people, you could be a happy camper? You are unhappy and want everyone to share your pain. They deserve the pain for making you miserable ! So? How’s that working for you?

          • Lyle Brunckhorst

SC I was in the process of learning some new news sources for my ongoing education and then I realized after reading your aspiring post that I may just as well shut my computer down because after all, I’m just one of those uneducated morons who can’t read.

Second thought, maybe I’ll just shut you down and ignore your caustic and sarcastic posts, pardon the sarcasm.

          • BrotherPatriot

The central banking system is NOT here to stay. As the awakening continues…the grass root movement is goin to address this problem as well but all in due time. One baby step at a time…in essense. You guyz have had years to implement all the damage done to America…it will take awhile to fix it…but fix it, we shall.

We’ll get rid of the Federal Reserve and print our own money just like Lincoln and JFK were about to do. This time we’ll not let up and allow the Elites to continue to control us through assasination or intimidation. The American Patriot is awake & mad as hell. By printing our own money, this will break the Elites hold on us…all the while we will reveal their agenda & connections and unravel the damage done. The Elites time is coming to a end. Down with the NWO!

          • Vicki

End the central banking system? Easy enough if you have a plan.

            1. Audit the Fed. (campaigns/112)
            2. Free competition in currency (campaigns/85)
            3. enumerated powers (campaigns/87)

All this and more at http://www.downsizeDC.org

Look at the upper left green bar for the “campaigns” tab.

then send a message on one or more of the campaigns there each day.
They will notice. The end of the central banking system could be in our lifetime.

Thanks SC I didn’t think I would see the word Progressive today. Thank YOU

When so many EXPERT economists have been wrong (stagflation, dot-com bubble, housing bubble, welfare state, dollar devaluation, European & world inflation, etc) the Austrian economists have consistently hit the mark each time based on the Austrian principles.

Go to http://mises.org/media.aspx and look for the Beginners Guide. That’s a good place to start.

          • Bob

Alot of these economists are paid by corporations and foundations and have to say what they are told to keep those checks coming.

Thank Dave ~ I really am interested in this ~ I’ll gladly admit, I just don’t know about such things. ~ It’s a void I need to correct.

Why is it so hard for people to say “I just don’t know?”

it’s hard thing to do. ~ It leaves a person open and subject to attack.

much like sc did me. ~ I’m a tough enough to take a “hit” and not fall down. In fact, I will come back, loving a good fight.

I will look into this Dav ~ and thanks!

@ DaveH,. Bob, and all –

I would not leave out, nor forget, Bob Livingston’s own recommendation of the highly intensive research from -

            Thomas J. DiLorenzo

If you haven’t gotten around to reading what he brings to the dinner table, then you are missing the main meal.

Thomas not only writes historically – he also writes economically.

          • AnhydrousBob

I just finished “The Real Lincoln”. What a great book – any recommendations on which one to read next?

          • Vicki

Thanks for the links DaveH. More reading for me :)

Note to everyone interested in economics.

Supply/demand equation, like gravity, effects EVERYTHING. Even the objects we use for “money”. Which is why we KNOW that “inflation” is coming and is as avoidable as gravity.

      • Biene Vallee

Who exactly do you mean by eighteen? Who are you including/excluding? Have you seen the current crop of eighteen-year-olds? These kids can barely spell their own name, get out of bed on time for school, and race to nearest friend’s house to do their daily dose of drugs! Ah, but I did sort of leave out those that don’t go to school, and I think they outnumber those that do!!!! Maybe I live in the wrong part of my country.

        • http://?? Joe H.

          Biene Vallee,
Not so on all of them. My twenty year old daughter is nothing like that! In high school, she went to college as well and had her associates by the time she graduated. At eighteen, she was working and attending college going for her bachelors degree. She won’t let us pay anything except her books, prefering to EARN her way, so she took a couple of quarters off to work and build her savings back up and will be attending Cleveland State in the fall. Might be me, but that doesn’t sound like what you describe!!! Oh, and by the way she is a conservative!!! There are quite a few just like her, if you choose to look!!!

          • Claire

JoeH– Good for you and good for your daughter- You did a great job as a parent. I am glad you posted your reply. It should make a person realize there are still some good kids out there.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            claire,
I know they say pride goeth before the fall, but I can’t help it I am proud of her!

          • Claire

JoeH–We are fortunate. You have every right to be proud of your daughter. I feel the same way about my son. Of course, my son is older but he was always a good kid and now he is 48 years old, and it makes me wonder where the years went. He is truly a good person.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Claire,
After our handicapped son was born, it was hard to consider having another child so we had her later than we would have. I am so thankful that we did. I don’t know, maybe we were a little more at ease with her and it made a difference but we are so proud of her and love her more than she will ever know as we do with all three of our kids!!

      • Al Sieber

SC, good post, you said it all.

      • Pathfinder

SC : I thank W Dog for at least mentioning the austrian neo-classical school of economics. Whether Ludwig Von Mises, or his mentor Von Bohmbewerk these are both excellent (but decidedly not easy to read).
Von Mises’ book “Human Action” (a fairly thick tome) has some of the finest refutations of marxist theory that I have ever seen. This re-emergence of free market economics is a great antidote to the Kensyian poison that has been tried and has failed so miserably.

    • AnhydrousBob

      WDog,

I move around the nation really, feeling this offers a more rounded view of what happening and what peoples reaction to it.

I enjoy firefox Goolge and have removed all sports and hollywood fodder

making more room for meat and potatoes. ~ The personal preference feature of the browser, customs ~ my viewing pleasure. ~ BBC , LA Times, Wall Street, New York City are all standard, everyday viewing.

I have made the decision to remove all TV viewing from my home in recent weeks, finding it just too Carnival in nature and have resigned to DVD’s to enhance my viewing pleasure. It’s hard to get use too at first but I feel an wise decision, for controlling both ones habits and mind can be a taunting task.

As for myself, ~ I find a topic of great interest, ~ I dig out the details and attempt to assimilate the issue by all means possible, where ever it takes me. One usually learns more more this way, lots of peripheral data comes forward.

BuT I sure don’t look to FOX unless I’m interested in what Al & Tipper are getting along or if Michell.

I love music and art as well, this always holds great amusement and eats up my viewing time.

    • Palin12

      Bob
This may be the first time I’ve ever agreed with you, but I pretty much also watch only DVDs on TV. Commercials are a waste of my time. I never buy anything because of some dumbass commercial. I only watch the networks during playoffs. And I sure as hell won’t watch Harry Reid spending his millions on attack ads.

      • Bob Wire

see ! we can agree and disagree without being disagreeable.

But I accept my place and status here, I’m the sand in the KY and not looking for the love.

I do attempt to view both sides ~ it’s a curse of birth I’d wish on no one. Not received very well except a by a few shapeshifter’s like myself that loves to put people to the test. Some think I’m nuts, some I’m bright. ~ I am neither, just playful and fearless.

I’ve paid the price for my follies and think everyone else should pay for theirs. So my compassion is in short supply and limited.

We get lost in the issues ~ but it’s about tomorrows American that truly my greatest concern, It’s not about money !

        It’s about what money does.

        • http://?? Joe H.

          Bob,

He is very emotional & concerned about the current state of affairs in this country & around the world. Check out his DVDs including “Fall of the Republic”, the “Obama Deception”, etc.
Great articles from around the globe including some of the news they the MSM seem to loose!

I couldn’t go a week without reading WorldNetDaily…. it is an outstanding enews source.

  • Harold Olsen

I’m glad NewsMax wasn’t included in the list. They are, basically, the conservative version of MSNBC. With MSNBC Democrats can do no wrong and Republicans can do no right. With NewsMax, Republicans can do no wrong and Democrats can do no right. Both are hypocrites, though.

    • Earl, QUEENS, NY

Based on Harold Olsen’s comparison, I have to say that Newsmax is nearly 100% right and MSNBC is nearly 100% wrong. Of course, we first need to discount some RINOs and GOP wimps who’ve pandered to the Democraps. After JFK, what have the democraps ever done right?? Just look back 5 years, when th egOP controlled both Congress and The White House. How much better off America and its economy were back then!! The 2006 and 2008 elections have surely had negative consequences. And the latter has proven to be a disaster!!!!!

      • Lyle Brunckhorst

All levels of government and both parties have been both infiltrated by progressives and have become corrupted by the system which is run by crooks who have been in power for far too long.

Can you think of a better reason for term limits?

        • DaveH

If I thought term limits would work, I’d be all for them. They won’t. There is no substitute for an educated electorate.
Don’t be afraid to talk politics to your progressive acquaintances. They have gotten this far by cowing good people with their name-calling, ridicule, fabricated facts, and other childish manipulative tactics. Learn the facts. Stand up to the creeps. Point out their manipulative tactics for others to see. Don’t let them silence you. That is the only way they can succeed, because their ideas have been disproven dramatically by experience.
And above all, we need to take the education system back. That is their main tool – propagandizing our mentally defenseless children. Once propagandized, it is difficult to get them back because everybody wants the Good Life about which progressives Hope and Dream.
So it’s easy to embrace the false progressive indoctrination. It’s not so easy to embrace the reality that to be successful we must work hard, sacrifice, and take educated risks.

Ann Coulter is a very dangerous propagandist and has very low standards.

      • TIME

        Oh Eddieeee,

Ann is a real hoot, both in her writting and in person even more so after all she is a real A type.
But as we have seen by your post, Eddieee you don’t like Girls now do you.
So a real strong Woman is way out of the question for you, I can see how she may make you pee your pants in fear of what she may say to you, my God a strong Woman with a real sense of humor and has a really high IQ too.

Hey, you can’t beat the material she uses, as she just displays what the buffoons own words, so everyone can see the real humor in them.

Perhaps better said the total lacking of any “logic or common sense” spoken by the nut jobs that run this country, and she never holds back on anyone, now thats a good thing.

She is dam funny, I like her a lot.

And you know whats best of all, she is not even having to try hard to make these bufoons look as stupid as they are, they do it all on their own, she just points out the irony of the mindless dribble they speak, also known as Babble ON-A.

        They just think we are all to stupid to understand them, with speaches like this one from the Babble On-a play book page 101;
“Uh hum, well, oh, hum uh uh its a its a, hum well kind of well, like uh uh hum, oh an a oh hum yes, hum, oh a ahua duh, Hate; yea thats it, an hum hu ho oh a duh dee doo duh.

Democratic speach plate number 2, and its a number 2 in more than one way!

Now please pay $30K for this great show. And don’t forget we also have a special pledge drive called the duh, for dummies starting next month, so just open your check book and let us do write the check amounts.

      • DaveH

I don’t always agree with Ann Coulter, but she is extremely intelligent and quick witted. I worry about her. I think she is going to send herself to an early grave if she doesn’t learn to relax more.

        • TIME

          Dave,
Its strange how many folks think my wife is Ann, I kid you not we get that nearly every time we go out.
They look very much alike, strange they think alike too!

It Must be something in the water in New England, LOL..:-)

          • DaveH

My daughter looks a lot like Ann too. And she’s also very straight-laced. The funny thing is that she was very rebellious in her early teens. But, I practiced what I preach. When she came to live with me at age 16 (mother could no longer handle her), I was working in a different state and only home on the weekends. I told her I wasn’t going to tell her what to do, but she had to pay for her own mistakes. She was wilder than I was as a teenager (pretty wild), and she made plenty of mistakes, but she had nobody to rebel against. So she learned from her mistakes instead of stubbornly repeating them to spite a controlling parent, as is the usual case. Now, as a 30 year old parent, she is more domesticated than the vast majority of people.

      • s c

Eduardo, thanks for ‘opening the door’ again. You, in your own special way, have defined a typical progressive for America. A progressive is a propagandist who tends to have a very low IQ. By the way, you forgot to piss and moan about GB – again.

How can you stand by people who want to let muslims build 2 towers to rub it in our face on ground zero? Are you a friggin mad man? You like people who want to raise your taxes and raise business taxes, so that millions of people can lose their jobs? You like the thought of them taking money from the working, and give it to joe crack dealer so that he doesnt have to work? Are you kidding me eddie? Or are you one of these terrorists or worthless pieces of crap that are living on the public dole? Are you eddie? Elaine : Thanks for showing us all just how open minded you liberals are.

  • Marilyn

I try to watch a “mix” to see what is happening. Then, do some research on named politicians, preachers, supreme court justices, organizations and events. From all of that I come to my own conclusions. I write to Senators and Congressmen/ladies and even the President but all I get in return is how wonderful they are and the great job they are doing. Two have explained why they voted on certain bills. Still hogwash. Two of my favorites is Washington Times and CNN. Lots of “news” but sort through it all and do my research. Have you read The British Times Paper about the Shore Bank in Chicago? Also, Chicago Climate Exchange known as CXX. Big eye opener there. Talk about money laundering! Big Time.

    • DaveH

      Marilyn,
Your comment brings to my mind two very important web sites that we should all familiarize ourselves with. Learn what our Representatives are voting on, and how they are actually voting, instead of listening to their smooth talk:

pick “roll call votes” under “quick links” and find the congressional session of your choice (currently the 111th Congress, 2nd session).

pick the votes link (right hand side), then look for the session of your choice under “roll call tables”.

    Books I recommend:
“End of thr Fed” by Ron Paul
    “Comeback America” by David Malker
    “Saving Freedom” by Jim DeMint

I found all of these in my local library.

    • Pathfinder

Jim of D : Wow !! When I go to my local library I find all the liberal stuff there waiting for me. But to get something conservative I have to make a special request via inter-library loan. Thus, there is always a delay if I want to borrow something like “The Fearful Master” by G. Edward Griffin. (Similar difficulties trying to get “The Creature from Jeckyl Island”)

  • Jim of D

    Sorry about that.

    “Comeback America” by David Walker.

This is an interesting piece but no where does it say that Mother Jones Magazine or the online version is any where near the most used. I find these ladies refreshing most of the time.

    -Andrew Breitbart (biggovernment.com)

Wow, you have a very closed mind!

How do you even know what your “enemies” are thinking?

That is why liberals are so much smarter—we are well-read and listen to DIVERGENT opinions, rather than just parroting the things we hear from the Faux News gaspipe.

        Alex…How is this for a “smart” liberal,”America is…is no longer,uh,what it…it,uh,could be,uh,what it was once was…uh,and I say to my self,uh,I don’t want that future,uh,uh,for my children.”(Hussein Obama)
        or
“Paying taxes is voluntary.”(Dingy Harry Reid)
        or
“I have campaigned in all 57 states.” You guessed it,ol’ smarty-pants himself,Hussein the Big O.

      • TIME

        Alex,
Perhaps a real Liberal in its true meaning, but for the most part what I see from alledged Liberal posters here are “Posers” or a much better term would be “”Clueless”" ~ “Progressive Marxist aids.”

The facts are that Media Matters is not balanced material, nor is the Daily Kos, nor for that fact the Atlanta Journal, the NY Times, The Mini Minds press no matter what city your in; most are all owned by the same person / persons. Thus the value is ZERO.

      • George

That is why liberals are so much smarter Alex? You sound like a school girl worried about who is more mature. I could talk right over your head in my field of interests as well as you, in yours, to me. What do levels of smart got to do with anything here? I have a daughter in law that is a math major that has trouble with playing crib. Small numbers befuddle her. Maybe that’s why libs love big government, to tell them how to think and act. Obama, Biden, Reid. As mentors and good Stewarts of state? Please. Hillary signing small arms treaties with the UN? Who gave her that right? Is that smart for us as a nation? A free republic without means of self defense. History proves out that this is the first move of tyrants to enslave people. Won’t happen here? Now? why not? What makes us better than those who came before? Smarter? I doubt it.

I have been on all the right left, blogs trolling and on a top left blog trolling against them for two and half years. Why they allowed me on there for that long I am not sure. But if you want to be street smart then Jim Gilchrist Minuteman’s blog is the best blog of all of them. I am sure you would enjoy the black Minutemen video he has on there right now. I am constantly sending his blog out to the right and the left. I really think Eric it should be on your list of blogs as well as Mark Andrew Dwyer’s website who is also intelligent and street smart. I send his columns out to a lot of people both right and left too.

So for those of you who continuously accuse me of being stupid, not well read, misinformed, lacking of facts you may want to rethink your position. I am just different. I believe there’s always an alternative. Unfortunately it’s not easy to find them. It takes a lot of time dedication and energy to try and figure out what’s really going on. I spend a fortune on books, documentaries, magazines and newsletters and since I don’t have any kids and I work from home with lots of bandwidth and mutiple large monitors, I do spend a lot of time looking for information. I know that I am exposed to wider spectrum of information than most people and that gives me a broader perspective.

    • Eric Bischoff

I am wondering why you removed all of the well formated links so that people can’t just click on them. You didn’t do that to all of the other posts. What’s with that Bob?

      • DaveH

I guess that with all you worldliness, Eric, you haven’t caught on that you can get a comment with one link posted immediately. For two or more links it must wait for Liberty staff to review it and decide if it gets posted in its original condition.

        • DaveH

Before the attack, I will correct my typo “you” should be “your”.

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear Eric,
Because of the way our filter is set up, a post with multiple links automatically goes into spam. This was done so the posts don’t get lost.
        Best wishes,
        Bob

        • Eric Bischoff

Thanks Bob, I understood that part thus the waiting for approval. I was merely inquiring about the removal of the links formats so that you can’t click on them anymore.

          • libertytrain

I believe he means by making them non-clickable your post was able to be approved without losing the essence of what you were trying to accomplish – Folks can still copy and Google -

    • DaveH

And, Eric, I don’t think many on this site think you are stupid. You are obviously well-educated, but I think your comment “And because you have to keep your enemies closer than your friends” says it all. Can you really read those other sources with an open mind when you consider them your enemies?
You are also obviously very arrogant, which puts people off. If indeed you want people to take what you have to say seriously, then you need to work on that. Personally, I think you have an overblown ego. Posting your sunglass-clad image indicates to me that you think you are pretty “cool”. Poor guy.

      • Eric Bischoff

Actually Dave I was not well educated, but I just never stopped learning. I thought that the enemies quote was a little humor in a very dry long list. I said enemies because that is how one is often treated when they have a point of view that differs from the Fox news crowd which seems to be the most valued and trusted news in this crowd. I have found that the crowd who follows that list is quite rude, and often does not address the issues resorting mostly to attacking and name calling.

As far as my arrogance, I will work on that. But on the topic of the picture, at least I use my picture and real name unlike most of the people on this site and all over the internet for that matter. And yes I did spend some time in the entertainment industry in the 70′s and I listen to jazz so that automatically makes me cool.

        • DaveH

Good response, Eric. No, I don’t think working in the entertainment industry makes you cool. But it really is none of my business, I was just mad at your condescending comment.

        • Bob

Eric Are you the guy from the WWF?

      • Eric Bischoff

And yes I can read with an open mind because I am looking for any good ideas anywhere I can find them. I am amazed at the lack of compassion that I find in these sites and I often wonder how one gets to think that way. I just don’t get it. I am also looking for common ground. Because unless we can find common ground, we are all doomed.

        • Fed Up Gal in NM

          Eric,

Really? Lack of compassion? You might find it useful to re-read your own comments to see/hear just how compassionate [or not] your own comments appear, especially since they seem to be directed to those who have a different political view than you.

Most conservatives are compassionate, but even compassionate people have a right to speak up when they feel their generosity is being abused. Why is it that you and other liberals feel your idea of what it means to be compassionate is an accurate barometer?

I can’t speak for others, but I found your comments to be somewhat demeaning and pampas. You may not have intended it, but that’s how it came across to me.

          • DaveH

For sure, Gal. Compassion comes from one’s own wallet (or purse). What Liberals call compassion is just plain theft:

this is a really good site thanks!
            http://mises.org/daily/4125

        • DaveH

Eric says we must find “common ground”. That brings to mind one of the oft used tools of the Liberal movement – the concept of “compromise”. Make no mistake about this. It is a tool, which the Liberals have used to further their agenda. Say, as an example, the Liberals want to take your money. You say “No”. They say “We want $1000″. Now they complain to everybody that you won’t compromise. $500 is a perfect compromise. If you fold to their manipulative tactic, they now have $500 of your money that they didn’t have before.
Do not “compromise” your Freedom away. We need to turn the tables on them and start using that same tool to rescind those Freedom-Robbing laws that they have gotten passed.

While the news outlets tend to have their own style of reporting, which appear to be conflicting when it comes to political news, for one I never watch MSNBC for their pro-socialist views and left wing extremism. CNN I used to watch, but they became a bore when everywhere you go in public where there is a television set that’s all they have on, “The Most Distrusted Name in News” (I never watch Nancy Disgrace anyway), but I have to give them credit for firing reporter Susan Roesgen for getting into heated arguments with participants of the Tea Party Movement she was assigned to cover.

I don’t care about all that syndicated evening news reporting by NBC, CBS or ABC, especially CBS when they have gotten dumber and dumber by replacing the retiring Dan Rather (I never cared about him) with…Katie Couric above all people??? These three big networks always had to have news strategists sitting in a circle discussing their opinions over the air about their political views – BOOOORING!!!

Fox News has some very interesting programs not found on any of the others. I’ve always enjoyed watching Ollie North who has traveled extensively to Iraq or Afghanistan to meet with the troops and the viewers get to hear our soldiers, sailors, airmen or corpsmen from their perspective. Many are enthusiastic in serving their country (bless their hearts) and many have re-enlisted for that purpose, while the other news networks lie about “oh the troops just want to get home” or “it’s a losing battle”, which we can blame it on that old Vietnam War mentality syndrome permanently ensconced into the senile minds of these morons who equally compare that war with every subsequent war when it involves the United States of America.

  • Steve G

If you want all the facts, not half truths and disinformation, very few programs or newspapers put out in the main stream media are worth reading or watching. You need to listen to John Stadtmiller and others on republicbroadcasting.org, Alex Jones on infowars.com, and read on newswithviews.com and FreedomsPhoenix.com. Most of the MSM just spin BS and propaganda designed to keep you a docile, compliant little slave. A few of the above are decent, but again, too much misinformation and half truths.

  • Zoe

How do any of you know what the truth is if all you are reading just conforms with your beliefs? What we “believe” has to stand up under criticism. It’s called critical thinking and it needs to be taught in the schools.

  • Jana

    Chip,
    Thank you for these sites.

I have gone through and added most of them to my favorites and will use them.
I agree with Beberoni that Fox news is good, but this also gives us back up for the reasons we believe like we do. We need good resources to fall back on to check out information. Even listening to the liberals is good. It is a know your enemy type thing and its really something to listen to them twist the truths to conform to what they want us to believe.

    • DaveH

      Jana,
It is more like twisting the truth to conform to what they want to believe. We all do it to a certain extent. When I own a stock, I want to believe the best about the company. It takes a lot of mental effort to actually critically analyze the company.
I share many of the Liberals’ goals, but I just believe that their pathways to those goals are terribly flawed and tainted with self-interest.

      • AnhydrousBob

DaveH, you know me, you know I’m not cranking on you, I’m askin…

Which liberal goals do you agree with? I’m not sure I know of any worthy ones – but I could be forgetting, or overlooking, so I’m askin.

        • DaveH

          Bob,
I’m talking about living the good life. No pain, financial security, no work, just doing fun things whenever we want, and never having to pay the price when those fun things turn out to be mistakes.
We Libertarians think that people ought to be left to make all the mistakes they want with their own bodies and property. Where we part company with Liberals is that we believe that people ought to pay for their own mistakes rather than get a free ride on somebody else’s unwilling shoulders.

You hit the nail on the head on this one! I still have my personal beliefs about some issues that I think differ from yours, but I don’t think we differ much (if at all) on this point!

Thanks Dave for all your posts; I enjoy them all and learn from them too!

          • DaveH

Thank you, Fed Up, I appreciate that.
I think if you knew me better, you would find that we share more beliefs than you think. I don’t believe there is a God, but I do believe that living your life according to most Christian morality is the smart thing to do.

          • Fed Up Gal in NM

            Dave H,

Thanks Dave…and I guess then….you won’t mind that I will still ask God to bless you :-).

You know Dave, admittedly I’m a Christian (flaws and all)…so I try hard to not preach…not because I don’t believe in it…but rather I think God calls us all into service in one way or another. I’m pretty sure I’d make a terrible preacher…in the strictest sense of the word….but I can still share my belief in God and that may be the service God has called me to do.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me and others Dave. Like I said before, I learn something from just about every post you’ve made that I’ve been able to read.

What about CNSnews.com? It was the first website of its kind I had read, based on a recommendation by The Great One – Mark Levin. I also appreciate Newsmax, even if I can’t find a section to post comments like this site and CNSnews. Other good posts include Michelle Malkin, Ben Shapiro, and Walter E. Williams…..Now, my only dilemma is trying to get family and friends to read these sites, as well as to listen to conservative talk radio hosts. Some ridicule me, as they just listen to (music) FM radio. All I can say is that you learn important facts on sites like this and AM talk radio stations. If everybody listened to talk radio and read these websites, BHO and many of his democraps could’ve been defeated 2 years ago. The truth is – you don’t learn anything by listening to those lousy FM radio stations!!!!!

  • Stan B

    Hello Chip,

All the websites you mentioned have worthwhile information that can (collectively) lead to viable solutions in bringing our nation back to sanity.
I respectfully submit that you add the following partial list to your “research” list, and for the benefit of anyone else who is seriously willing to do the research for themselves.
    Reading material: Revolution. (Ron Paul)
    Fleeced. (Dick Morris)
    Culture of Corruption. (Michelle Malkin)
The Creature from Jekyll Island (G.Edward Griffin)
Related websites: Liberty Council. (Matt Staver)
    August Review. (Patrick Wood)
Freedom Force International/Unfiltered News (G.Edward Griffin)
    Infowars.com (Alex Jones)
Edwin Vieira. For indepth analysis of the IRS and the Costitution. (Newswithviews/info@judicialawatch.org)
Aaron Russo. (From Freedom to Fascism)
    Fairtax.org
    Townhall.com
and any related articles by Chuck Baldwin.
If anyone will take the time to investigate the data contained in the above, it should hopefully become evident that these are essential pieces of an intriguing & revealing jigsaw puzzle, and it is my sincere hope that, as a result, others will be enabled to see the picture that begins to emerge.
In conclusion, through my own research it has become clear that many answers and solutions to the problems facing our nation (and the world) are to be found in our history. It is a fact that History and politics are most definately tied togethher.

He was Jewish, but didn’t write like he was, if you get what I mean. He held all politicians feet to the fire if they didn’t do what they were there for!! He darn sure wasn’t a libber!!

          • DaveH

            Joe,
I think this is the guy you mean – Burt Prelutsky.
No, I haven’t read any of his columns.

          • DaveH

Here is a sample for those who are interested:
            http://townhall.com/columnists/BurtPrelutsky/2009/08/10/the_straight_talk_on_islam/page/full

Note that I do not subscribe to the United States being the World’s Policemen. I think we have enough on our plate right here in our own country.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            DaveH,
Where did he say that we should be the worlds police? He was simply pointing out how the libbers were so against what the repubs did but yet they were all for us going to Africa! I read that column when it came out and I read it again here and I don’t see what you say at all. One thing I did learn about him was if you had a question on one of his columns all you had to do was address it in the comments and make sure it was to him and he would answer. Or you could E-mail him at the address at the top and he would E-mail you personally! He was willing to back up what he said and he called a creep a creep and a RINO a RINO!!!

          • DaveH

            Joe,
It is implied throughout his article, but here is the most pertinent quote:
“Clearly, the Left wants America to be a toothless tiger, rather like the U.N. What they fail to grasp is that as America goes, so goes freedom everywhere. Or perhaps they think the French will do a better job of policing the world.”

        • Al Sieber

I think talking to you hard core Right winger is futile. But I must point out that Fox news is a “anger tie raid” that is fueled by the ultra conservative special interests that want to blow out of issues out of context and perspective any thing they see not in there narrow view of reality. Conservatives want the past and are disgusted by the present. This all is fueling a social civil war, and that may be the objective of people controlling the ultra conservative agenda in this country…Richard Nixon started the EPA and knew Energy was a future threat to our national security…

We better start finding more common ground as American’s or we could befall the fate of past civilizations. Chronkite and Morrow were respected names as top notch journalist and should be admired…

    OK guys have at it…

    • DaveH

Mike says “But I must point out that Fox news is a “anger tie raid” that is fueled by the ultra conservative special interests”.
And you expect, Mike, that anybody who watchs Fox would embrace your misinformation? They are littered with Liberal commentators. The trouble is their comments are so obviously flawed that anybody who hears both sides of the issue (they do that on Fox) would have a hard time taking the Liberal statements seriously.
The only thing that Liberals have going for them is that their promises of a Liberal future sound so sweet, sweet sounding lies that is. Everybody would like to have the easy life and be able to do whatever they want to do, never suffering any pain or discomfort. But most of us still know that there is no easy road to those goals. It requires good education, hard work, sacrifice, and educated risks to achieve the good life. The Liberal solution is to take from those who have made those efforts and give to those who haven’t. How long do you think it would take for that solution to fall flat on its face? How long do you think the real producers are going to keep on producing when the fruits of their labor are confiscated and given to those who want the unearned easy life? Does anybody seriously think that the freeloaders are going to take up the production slack? Does anybody seriously think that Government Bureaucrats, who get no reward for success and whose jobs are protected, are going to go the extra mile to achieve productive efficiency?

Hmm? It’s got to where MSNBC ~ or what ever

is every bit as annoying as Fox was 2008.

I’ve gave up on most all TV media commentary.

had it removed from the house.

        • DaveH

We people with all our diverse ideas of the best way to live can be pretty annoying, can’t we? And that is exactly why we can’t let Government (who are just people) force a one-size-fits-all solution on us citizens. Only the individual knows what makes him/her happy. That changes dramatically from one person to the next. Getting a group together (Government) to force what they think is best on everybody else will never result in widespread happiness. The best shot we have at happiness is to be able to make our own unfettered choices about our own bodies and property. If we screw up, we pay the price. Nobody else should be forced to pay for our mistaken life choices. Experience is the best teacher. When somebody else is forced to pay for our mistakes, chances are we will repeat them. Why not, if we have nothing to lose?
The Best Government is the Least Government.

            DaveH,

Geeeez Dave….you are on a roll this morning! My arms are hurting (from doing the wave dance) and my back hurts (from bowing so much)! You know I’m kidding about the bow and wave….but not kidding about you’re being on a roll.

You sure are saving me a lot of keyboard time, as you are saying exactly what I’m thinking and you’ve put it into words much more eloquently than I could. Keep it up (please)!

    • Fed Up Gal in NM

I can’t improve on DaveH’s response, so I’ll just add:

Sorry Mike….but since you asked….Are you sleep walking through life or just dreaming your way to that gold-layered double rainbow that’s free to anyone just for the asking (and taking from others)……well at least the GLDR you’ve created in your mind?

I would say your own perspective might just be the one that fits so neatly into such a “narrow view of reality.” As a “Conservative” (probably considered devout conservative in your mind), I AM disgusted by the present condition of our economy, the majority of our elected officials (municipal, state and federal) and by the vaso-constricted mindset of liberal/progressive voters in this country.

As far as your comment “Conservatives want the past”…..well, depending on one’s perspective (of which you already believe mine is “narrow” and of which I believe yours is completely blocked)…. Hmmmmm….if as you say….Conservatives really do wish to remain in the present, why did and do so many of them/us hold Condelesa Rice, Colin Powell, Larry Elder and other non-white conservatives in such high regard?

In reference to your comment “This all is fueling a social civil war,”……this is one thing we can agree on…..however, it may be prudent for you to consider your own [side’s] involvement and fuel source.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Mike,
I’ll add a couple of lines to Fed Up Gals comments. Not everything from the past was bad. I’m 59 and I remember sleeping peacefully through the night with all of our doors unlocked. I remember people willingly looking after each other. I remember almost everyone knew whos kid was whos and the kids knew if a phone call came about them later they were gonna be on the carpet later. i was taught to write by a black man that worked for my Dad and ate with us all the time and was considered a close family friend. I played with his kids and untill I was in school, I never knew there was ANY difference between us!

I will add that mainstream news is dominated by 6 conservative multinational corporations. Disney, Time Warner, Newscorp, GE, Viacom, CBS. Fox’s Newscorp is a giant monopoly of film, TV, Cable, Magazines, Newspapers, Publishing. CNN’s parent co is Time Warner. MSNBC’s parent GE makes nuclear weapons. CBS and Viacom are owned by National Amusements. As far as I am concerned all of these companies are an antitrust violation nightmare. But instead of being broken up they are allowed to get larger and larger. They all make a fortune on advertising and the election cycles. Some of these corporations also make a fortune in weapons and energy. It’s no wonder they are all beating the drums for every new war.

Fox is on the extreme right of it and I guess you could say that MSNBC is on the extreme left of that group. But let’s not fool ourselves and that is the point I have been trying to make all along, what you consider the extreme left is still the conservative center and that entire group of six companies is at best centrist and conservative. It does not come close to representing the entire spectrum of the left and right. You are not really ever exposed to the real left progressives in this country. They are systematically shut out because the powers that be don’t ever want you to hear what ideas they may have or how they think. They are afraid of them and they want you to be in fear of them and you are. The sad part is that they are the only ones really seriously looking out for people, the underdog and the corruption in our democracy.

None of the mainstream media companies should ever be allowed to market themselves as fair and balanced. It’s unfortunate that our Truth-In-Advertising laws are only ever enforced to shut out the small competition to mainstream products. They never go after the real powerful violators. If you want to know what the progressive left is thinking and reporting then you have to search for them in the listener supported and non-profit areas. You can also look at my list I posted further up. Don’t be afraid to expand your horizons, there’s a whole other world out there and they are more on your side that these monopolies are.

    I remain at your service.

    • Alex

One can expect the Fright Wingers to ridicule, or at least ignore, your reasoned look at the mainstream media, but you are quite correct about their monumental misjudgment of what constitutes the Left.

Case in point is our legally elected President. The neo-conartists froth about his ‘Socialist’ or ‘Marxist’ or ‘extreme Leftist’ ideology, from which, in reality, he sits at a far remove.

I have dreamed for years of a truly democratic Socialist nation, but we are sadly far from that. Hopefully, my children will see in their lifetimes the beginnings of a move toward a sensible, tolerant, reasonable, non-Capitalist, non-xenophobic America. Until then, both the “far Left, Marxist” Democrats {ha!!} and the Rethuglicans work for the same thing—maintaining the status quo in the White Estates of America—-militarism, hyper-Capitalism and its inherent global destruction, and neglect of the people in both this cuntry and around the entiew world.

Anyhow, the Teabag Brigade has NO idea what the term “far Left” means—they merely parrot whatever they can suck out of the Faux Noose gaspipe— ‘Socialist’ ‘Marxist’ ‘secular’ ‘insurgency’ ‘bailout’ ‘immigration’ ‘reparations’ ‘Death Panels’ and the like are blathered about by the Fright Wing sheeple simply because someone, almost always on Faux Noose, keeps repeating it, like some sort of backward-thinking vocal tic.

      • AnhydrousBob

      • DaveH

        Alex,
Name me a single socialist nation that has been successful.

    • DaveH

Way to go, Eric. You have put yourself squarely in the radical left camp with that bit of misinformation – “mainstream news is dominated by 6 conservative multinational corporations. Disney, Time Warner, Newscorp, GE, Viacom, CBS”.
That one statement has invalidated any effort that you have made to convince people that you are worth listening to. Newscorp is the only one on the list that could be remotely called “conservative”. And, at least in the case of Foxnews, Newscorp gives treatment to all sides of the issues. That is how News Media should be.
And GE was squarely in the Global Warming camp. Hardly a “conservative” stand.
You need to spread your fabricated facts on a Liberal website where they might be gullible enough to buy into them.

      • DaveH

And Eric says “None of the mainstream media companies should ever be allowed to market themselves as fair and balanced”. Was that a Freudian Slip? Achtung! You will obey!
That is what the progressive movement is all about – Force. People won’t voluntarily give up their choices and money, so the progressives need to infiltrate Government to force their choices on us and take our money. Government is Force. Progressives/Liberals know that.
What would you rather have? A system of voluntary purchases and voluntary contracts or the forced choices offered by Progressives who think they know what’s best for you? They want you to envy the Rich, but turn a blind eye to Government Largess.
You can choose the Politics of Envy which brought the world places like North Korea, Cuba, and the USSR. Or you can choose the Freedom that made our country the wealthiest country on Earth.
Now, however, thanks to Progressives starting with Woodrow Wilson, we are rapidly losing that Freedom.

    • DaveH

And, Eric, we are not a “democracy”. Once again you show your lack of knowledge. This country was set up as a Republic, and for good reason. Our Founders knew how easily Democracies could degenerate into societies where the majority trampled the minority. They tried their best to save us from that. Now, Progressives, in their lust for absolute power, are trying their best to convince the masses that we are a “democracy”.
For somebody who claims to be well-read, Eric, you sure miss the boat a lot.

      • Alex

Stop parroting blather beyond your capacity, Dave.
This is a representative democracy. Go back to school.

        • DaveH

Perhaps, Alex, if you had any idea what you are talking about, you wouldn’t need to try childish manipulative tactics on me:
          http://www.1215.org/lawnotes/lawnotes/repvsdem.htm

          • DaveH

And for those who want to know what was going on in the minds of our Founding Fathers as they considered how best to form the Union:
            http://www.foundingfathers.info/federalistpapers/

Federalist #10 especially discusses Democracy vs Republic.

        • Al Sieber

          Constitutional Republic.

          • DaveH

Republic like all words has taken on different meanings by different people. But it is clear from the Constitution that our Founders didn’t intend that we be a “democracy” where a raw 51% can run roughshod over the rest. Imagine the whipsawing that we would have from one election cycle to the next, as it is relatively easy for the major media to sway 51% of the people from one belief system to another. Planning would have to be thrown out the window as the laws changed dramatically every 4 years. It’s bad enough with our Republican (don’t confuse that with the Republican Party) form of Government.

  • Mike L.

    HEAR,HEAR, Thank you…

Yes, I hear many right wing people that get to give there entire perspectives and views on NPR. Tune into Fox and it all brocken up sound bites or restrained comments at best…I know what they are talking about every day I check on FOX its the same diatribe all the time. Thank you again…

          Dave & Joe,
I understand that PBS has has to do a monthly drive just to keep the doors open. Thats a BIG statment, as it used to be a twice per year on such a gig.
Oh and yes I gotten calls from PBS for donations of time, staff, and money, by the way “that straight from the old horse’s mouth.”
          No opinions just facts.

People are also pulling back on 401 C 3′s as well, and many 401 C 3′s are really hurting this year, they felt 2009 was bad, 2010 is going to be the year of “Bone Dry Giving.” 2011 will be the beyond Bone Dry, and by 2012 its going to be all out death to many 401 C 3′s.

Just wait until the 2010 Tax returns have to be done, when folks will have to add on to their yearly INCOME their health Insurance as “income,” thus pushing them to a “higher TAX grade.”
So lets say you make $100K per year but have a HCI package now thats valued at $25K you will be taxed on $125K Income..

I can just see all the happy faces now. ;-)

          • DaveH

            Time,
From the CRS Summary of HR 3590:
“Title IX: Revenue Provisions – Subtitle A: Revenue Offset Provisions – (Sec. 9001, as modified by section 10901) Amends the Internal Revenue Code to impose an excise tax of 40% of the excess benefit from certain high cost employer-sponsored health coverage. Deems any amount which exceeds payment of $8,500 for an employee self-only coverage plan and $23,000 for employees with other than self-only coverage (family plans) as an excess benefit. Increases such amounts for certain retirees and employees who are engaged in high-risk professions (e.g., law enforcement officers, emergency medical first responders, or longshore workers). Imposes a penalty on employers and coverage providers for failure to calculate the proper amount of an excess benefit.”
So, for example, if you are single and your employer provides Healthcare Insurance valued at $12000, you will pay a 40% excise tax on $3500 (which amounts to $1400 tax).
I thought the Bill was supposed to help us be protected? So their answer is to penalize us if we’re protected too much? Liberal logic escapes me. That’s because it doesn’t exist. They simply want our money. And they will come up with any BS excuse they can to take it away.

I try not to miss a single article from Personal Liberty Digest. You have an excellent selection of other sites – with one very important omission. NewMediaJournal.US ranks with the top 1% of blog sites in the nation. Frank Salvato is the Managing Editor and writes blockbuster editorals. The New Media Journal is outstanding in reporting and Op Ed articles covering a wide variety of subjects. NMJ has no peers when treating the issues of Illegal Immigration, Radical Islam. the growing threat from Muslim expansion, and the Political Scene. Frank – with his wife Nancy – also operates the non-profit, Projects Basic which leads the way in educating the public on preservation of our Constitution and our other founding Charter documents. My father once asked me if I would rather have a political or ethical conversation with someone I agreed with or someone with whom I was at odds.
I thought for a moment and then understood his point: sitting around with people who share your views is fine for a Sunday picnic or a birthday party, but to really LEARN takes interaction with those whose ideas run counter to your own. This allows one to not only learn to properly back up her/his opinion, but also allows one to better understand the complexities of issues by looking at BOTH sides. An added benefit is the occasional moment when one can admit that the other side is correct.
This is precisely the reason liberal thinkers are more intelligent, more well-rounded, more tolerant of divergent ideas.
The problem with most of you Fright Wingers is that you close your simple minds to divergent opinion, listening only to neo-conartist news outlets like the Faux Noose Channel or Flush Limpjaw, the drug addict.
Reading the comments here, and most alarmingly, those of Chip Wood, who writes so much, my point is clear: you people have blinders on.
I check out Bill O’Really? and Glenn Beck and Sean insHannity regularly—this allows my mind to wrap around VARIANT positions, something of which you simple, frightened people seem absolutely incapable, or at least unwilling.
We are just smarter, more intelligent, more widely-read than you Teabaggers.

So? You’ve never met a dirty white boy like me? I agree with your Father assessment Alex. What’s to be gained when everyone agrees? That you have hand picked your “judge & jury” jades any consensus and validation.

Our system of rule and law was a construct that depends heavily on the notion of “worthy opposition”. Heated exchange of opposing views germane to the issues being addressed.

While the true nature of politics has always been a battle of mind, wit and dirty tricks, Lee Atwater and his student Karl Rove have brought politics down to an all time low, not holds barred, down right mean and nasty fight. Nothing is too low down dirty and mean.

I think it’s worthy to note without these two men and their dirty tricks, “The Tale of Two Bushs” most likely would have never occurred.

The “Worthy” in worthy opposition has been dropped ~ now we just have “opposition”

Attacking opponents wife or family members is not worthy. Attacking ones pastor is not worthy( regardless how tempting) Expressing guilt by pure association is not worthy. Smelling smoke a yelling fire ~ “well I thought it was smoke!”

Opposition needs to rooted in something “worthy” ~

Not all! but so much of this Tea Party “fodder” can only be described a “lame” and unworthy the time to consider. As this administration attempts to govern inside the same frame work as all other prior administrations. But they would have you believe this one is somehow very different, suggesting a hidden agendas that’s un-American, by attempting to validation with birth-rights, a mother’s location and time of conception, the mixed blood, the questions of loyalty.

I have always held to the notion, it was, The American Way ~ of honoring “the individual” and that we all could rise above our raising and be judges by our own merits and not where we came from or who our parents were.

I guess I was wrong. It comes as a great surprise. Just one of many disappointing surprises in recent years.

The good news is! ~ These ideas are represented by only a small 18% voting minority that want to perceive themselves as a majority. For inside their crowded circle ~they are a majority. They’ve got their own TV programs, Their own media outlets, their own pitch men, they’ve got their own hero’s and they’ve got their own enemy list.

I pulled these names off the Socialist Democrats of America about 2 years ago before they hid the membership list from the public. I hope everyone reading this list will copy the names and send to ALL their email contacts so we can vote them OUT of office. With all this information do you know the Numbers USA post that billionaires Soros and Gregorian control and contribute to the Democratic Party, who benefit from amnesty. That they gave l8 million dollars to amnesty ads. Why Rev. Wright said the Zionist won’t let him talk to obama. Why a man said the Jews put in obama as president. Soros is Jewish. Keep your race card which the only reason one uses it is because they don’t have the intelligence to debate it nor could they. It is just a bully card. That and I have dated a lot of Jewish guys.

Also from very intelligent and political left and right bloggers that said the “small group of coherent slick individuals” aka slave labor corporations control and contribute to both parties and judicial who benefit from amnesty, North American union. “They engineer and manipulate the elections” like in 2008 with both mccain and obama being for amnesty. In recent years they don’t put in the best of the best but puppets who will not steal the show like clinton, bush and obama. Plus they said a lot more. palin is their next puppet stupid and easily manipulated like bush. I want to know how you can run palin who had 50 ethic violations as governor of AK in three years. Then she broke the l972 Federal law against killing wolves from the air constantly. Felony? Still a Federal law. You want to run palin with her 50 ethic violations and who broke a Federal law for president. Are you nuts? DeMint, Boehner and Brewer are the best ones for president in 20l2 not her.

What your blogs etc. should be doing is exposing and kicking out Soros, Gregorian and the slawe labor corporations so we can get our country back.

I posted this on another site and it seems to have been taken down so let’s try again.
This will take organization of the people in NY city. Form a committee and have people that can serve 24/7 to stand at the mosque site. Take down names of all materials so that it can be traced to the manufacturer. Write down the names of the trucks coming and going, what materials they deliver, the name of the food vendors that serve the workers. Publish these facts on facebook, tweeter, signs, in e-mails and mails to your friends, conversations, ads in papers. get the info out however you can and encourage all that you can to boycott these companies. Maybe if the suppliers know that they are being watched and noted they will think twice as to whether they want to be involved with this project.
Bring your cars in to the area fake a breakdown, jam the sidewalks, anything that you can do to slow the progress of the construction. You may not stop it, hopefully so, but if not you may be able to slow the progress down to the point that the job runs 3, 4, 5 times over budget. Hassle the construction workers, pull the survey stakes out, spary over any markings.
Show that ingenuity, inventiveness, guts, energy that every American has shown in the time of any threat to your country and you will come shining thru as you have done in the past.
Do this to show your pride in being an American. Do it to show the politicians that you will not let their love for money and “go along and do anything” attitude to get re-elected let them sell this country down the tubes for a fast buck. Do it cause you care. Do it to show these B_ _ _ _ _ _d’s that you will not let them take your country and freedoms away from you by using your own Constitution and Bill Of Rights to do it.
Quit being a wimp, stand up on your hind legs and say “Hell No, this will not stand!”
Speak now while you have a country to speak for and while you have the freedon to speak. Believe me what is taking place now is just the start of a fast decline of America as we have known it in the past. Islam is the only religion that makes demands on any society that it becomes a part of. They mask a political agenda behind a religion because they know that we respect freedom of religion. This is one religion that will kill you and your country.
PLEASE – you may be dead when the time of Shariah law becomes the law of this land but if not, can you look in the eyes of your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and explain how you left this happen? If you don’t want them to suffer the insult of animals act now!

Moslems didn’t shread our bill of rights and human rights endowed by the Creator, including habeus corpus (the right of the accused to have evidence of guilt presented at a trial)

It was the U.S. government who took these rights away – from the least of our brethren, they take them away from us too, or anyone a mob decides to call a “terrorist.”

This is not a war on terrorism. There are no uniforms, no markings, no organized battles by leaders. The war is on the rights of all of us citizens, in the name of “terrorism” and “war”

Democrats and Republican are together on that.

      • DaveH

You’re right, owldog. And I might add that without the Big Government machinery put in place by misguided people, it would be very hard for any one faction to take over our country. The best shot we have at maintaining our Freedom is to shrink the size of Government dramatically. It would also be the best chance we have at Economic Prosperity.

    Ann Coulter?

She really doesn’t know what liberal or progressive means. She makes up stuff liberals never heard of.

  • owldog

Democracy now is the only place where you can get around the “liberal briar patch” corporate neocon media filters. Especially on the ugly atrocities committed by the U.S. and Israel. We only hear about what the “bad guys” do, civilian deaths in Afghanistan are around 1,000 a month – we are not only losing the battle for hearts and minds – we are losing our right to know why they hate us.

    • Bob Wire

      >>2009 was again the most lethal year for Afghan civilians in the American-led war since the fall of the Taliban government in late 2001. According to the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), 2,412 civilians were killed by the war in 2009, a jump of 14% over the number that lost their lives in 2008. An additional 3,566 Afghan civilians were wounded as a result of the war in 2009.<<

It's not making a lot of sense to me either. I've came to the conclusion that there is just so much money being pumped into the area "some" Afghan's want to see this continue. My biggest error perhaps calling them Afghan's. I don't know "what" they call themselves, not sure that is matters anymore.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU – even the somewhat misguided Socialist wannabe’s…

NOTE: Mr. Livingston – I changed my Homepage, on our Home Computer, about two years ago (now)… to your website. And, glad that I am for having done so. It has brought me back to a righted sense of balance. I had found myself being so worked up, all I felt like to doing was to grab my tr-pointed hat, dry powder & 18th century firearm.

Trust me on this folks – it’s not easy to go around day by day understanding that for the most part, we’ve been purposely binded by those who pretend to represent us; even in the Media. In many cases, quite a few of those should simply be hung and be done with it. They are only interested solely in themselves, period – omitting even their extended families in favor of total selfishness.

I try and read here every day – and comment as many of you know. Hopefully, I’ve been successful in bringing something informative and positive along the way. My fav posters that I interact with, are:

    S.C.
    BobWire
DaveH -This country was set up as a Republic, and for good reason
    Grey Wolf
Al Sieber -it’s about right and wrong, not Democrat and Repub., stop putting labels on people.
    libertytrain
    Al Sieber
BrotherPatriot (Hear, Hear – many true words)
…and let’s all not forget: TIME
    And, of course, OWLDOG

I want to thank DORA for posting the info about those 89 scalawags who purposely joined the Socialist Democrats — I will make it a point to repost that info on other sites I belong to. Almost every time I come here, I find an offering of good-source-information (websites).

For myself – I’ve done what I think is barely adequate research (without any real assistance from others except to say “right-clicking and open in new window” style website inclusions for many a late midnight read, after the day’s efforts are close to complete.

One person finally posted a suggestion of ALEX JONES and his somewhat now famous webpages / INFOWARS and PRISONPLANET. It’s too bad Alex Jones is still hampered by his own GREED ETHIC. However, he does grace us with the expectation that once you make a purchase, he evokes you should make copies and share them with everyone you can. In this regard, I invite all of you to go here:

www-nwofordummies-com / grab a bag of popcorn and sit back (must do)

For the real Patriotic-minded (Mr. Livingston) I would invite all to visit this website:

    www-wallbuilders-com /
I have a fairly good handle on the essence of what our Founding Fathers (the Jeffersonian types, that is) had in mind for the basis of freedoms in this New Country and this website has corrected a few facts for me.

I ALSO FOCUS ON somewhat politically famous persons who have been known to switch sides of the (false) poltical spectrum in this Nation and one of those you CANNOT AVOID, nor should you… is:

www-larouchepac-com / check out his video: The Two Massachusetts
Lyndon LaRouche has definitely been arund the block, and back again. His information and economical opinion are to be taken into account if you have half a brain, even.

A few of you may think me extreme and in one or two cases… I might even agree. Yet, I would not avoid a website just because it doesn’t agree with me. Example – I have heard many people decry Lyndon LaRouche…and never once offer redeemable reason for it. That type of person is to always be avoided – they are simply out to steal your personal power for their own private profit.

OWLDOG’s comments above are faily close to the mark – although Coulter can have moments of stark clarity, she usually does waste time spinning the Left/Right Paradigm. Michelle Malkin is much much better at staying focused to the righteousness of the Republic and what’s right and/or wrong with this Country. I would refer to Michelle ofver Ann, just about any day. Still FOXNEWS is certainly not to be idolized, nor all that trusted – they do work for the CFR, you know. Go here:

www-whoownsthenews-com / refer back to, and often

The bottom line on everything we deal with in life, like it or not, people… is the fact that we live in a Money Paradigm. You must admit this to yourselves above all else. You waste precious time by avoiding it. In many generations, Man has been made into the slaves of money .. FIAT MONEY at that. It is the root cause for our ills and loss of freedoms we prefer to hold strong in “the Republic, for which it stands”

There are days when I almost become ill listening to the propaganda of how we must favor a Democracy over a Republic.. and several hear have already fallen victim to that anti-spock logic. You know who you are.

A Republic is meant to give succor and safety to all, no matter what.
A Democracy is nothing more than MOB RULE – hence the bullying rhetoric you hear from some (?) is a first order of business by those that are ANTI-Republic. They like to anoint themselves in charge of other people’s lives… and they have no real right, to do so, whatsoever. Invoking slander and defamation is easy evidence (open admittance) in that vein.

I prefer to read what I can – but as always, have the sense to see when someone is merely talking and not leading by example. A good comprison of such is what’s described about our own Alexander Hamilton in DiLorenzo’s book. In the Federalist Papers, you hear great freedom-evoking discussions from Hamilton, yet it was all sophistry. He never had any intention of following thru… However, Thomas Jefferson did, without fail. If you are to ever idolerate any Founding Father, Jefferson should be that person.

Along with inter-action on Facebook (only), I favor these websites -
(in order to avoid filters here, I use dashes. Simply replace with dots)

    1) www-realclearpolitics-com (around the world, without undue vocal influence)
    2) www-stansberryresearch-com (incredible financial advice)
    3) www-joemarquis-com/eo11110 (find out about a Real Patriot)
    4) jsmineset-com/2010/03/04/in-the-news-today-479 (more financial news)
    5) www-trendsresearch-com (uncommonly accurate forecasting)
    6) www-thefreemanonline-org
    7) spitfirelist-com (opinion here focuses directly on the Anglo-American consiracy of the NWO… including evidence of the erradication of ‘people of color’… your choice to discount, or not)
    8) www-jbs-org (discussions of less government, more responsibility)
    9) ucmp-berkeley-edu/history/malthus (a must read – educate yourself)
    10) www-gobeyondorganic-com (I even belong to his FB page)

I have over 75 webpage bookmarks solely for Political/Patriotic research & review. Many are interlinked because of one webpage mentioning a comment or other, and I went there for more evidence and opinion. I always follow the bread crumbs before I invest belief.

Ronald Reagan said it best, people…..

    TRUST,….BUT VERIFY !

And, over the last 25-30 years, the whole Nation has been provoked, indoctrinated, whatever… into doing exactly the opposite of Reagan’s Advice. When you look in the mirror every morning, do not forget that you also have committed this (ahem)…SIN. Take heed to Ronnie’s words and practice it daily.

I’ve listed almost 15 websites and could list more – but they lean one towards the preparation of WWIII and “getting OFF THE GRID”. Whether be to buy water-makers from the humidity in the air, or seed-buying (now, not later) or even how to hide your own firearms for the day when Barry Soetoro and the CFR bring military police to your doors with DOGS to sniff out where you normally store them.

Remeber this – The British Isles and Australia have already given up their “right to bear arms” … they will be the first to suffer famine. Who’s to stop the people implementing that action once you have no weapons of your own?

I do believe this – we are on the verge of extremes…
We are either going into a World War, where at least 65% of the population will be eliminated.
Or, we are going to step into a New Awakening, as described in this website:

    www-thevenusprojectdesign-com

Do I believe everything the above website defines? Some of it, NO.
Yet – it isn’t that hard to understand that many great inventions have become fact and are being withheld from the Population for purposes of GREED-mongering. Doubt me? Look on this website: (and decide) -

    www-calphysics-org/zpe

Some sister websites actually suggest that you can build your own for an estimated $60 … but, let’s just take this discussion one step at a time. Shall we……

Books I have collected, because they are a must -

    Hamilton’s Curse
    How Capitalism saved America
    The Naked Capitalist
    America’s Secret Establishment (Skull&Bones)
    The Mayflower Compact
The Federalist Papers (I will purchase the anti-federalist papers, too)
    Common Sense by Thomas Paine
Aaron Burr, Conspiracy and Years of Exile
(my next book will be about) Thomas Jefferson
I already have on order: The Real Lincoln

My true understanding of our trials, these days, is the knowing that Democrat or Republican is NOT the discussion you should be having. Rather, you should be focusing on whether your favor the Federal dominating the State, or the reverse, which demands you defend with your lives what is written in the 10th Amendment. The States ARE Sovereign and the Federal reports unto them in all cases, as defined within the Constitution, itself. This is not open to perversion as the Hamilton’s and Marshall’s, Adams’ and many many others – especially now – have spent their lives committing treasonous attitudes over.

In other words, you either favor Dictatorship…. or People’s Rights.
In all discussions, your comments should hold to this decree of belief, whether it lean one way or the other. And, whether you admit it, or not – others will be able to discern for themselves …where you stand.

THANKS TO ALL for the contributions you bring.

Thanks to you, as well, Bob Livingston. I count you as a friend. You have my email, sir. Feel free to contact me ay time you are in the Crossroads of America.

    Alex,
You say: “Yet – it isn’t that hard to understand that many great inventions have become fact and are being withheld from the Population for purposes of GREED-mongering. Doubt me? Look on this website: (and decide) -

    www-calphysics-org/zpe”

I fail to see how that website demonstrates your point that inventions are being withheld for purposes of greed. I have heard so many of those theories but have not seen one that has been backed up successfully. However, if we assume they are true, the answer is simple. As usual – Less Government.
I believe that the patent process was originally created to protect creative individuals from the theft of their intellectual property by well-financed companies until those individuals had a chance to develop and market their creations. But currently, the patent system is the realm of those well-healed companies, who in my opinion, don’t really need that protection. It is prohibitively expensive these days to patent a product. Typically, as an individual you need an “angel investor” to front you the money to file for and complete the patent process, and that is usually going to cost you a large percentage of your future proceeds from the invention (understandably).
I think we should give individuals patent protection for 5 years only. And the filing process should be greatly streamlined so that it would be dramatically cheaper to file and complete the process. Five years is plenty of time for an individual to act on his invention before it became public domain.
I also wonder if the costs to society, of the inevitable litigation that goes on over patent infringement, don’t outweigh the benefits of protecting intellectual property.
    Here is a related article:

Frankly, I cannot find the one Article I used to own, in Mechanics Illustrated, circa 1976 … where a Georgia man had invented a 100mph carbuerator, that would fit on any car, any engine and always put out at least 100mph. Detroit bought him out for a reported $3.2million and promptly stored that invention away in their vault, never to be seen ever again. That’s just one situation I did have evidence of.

And, when it comes to zero-point energy, there are over a dozen websites, that discuss it in detail and bring the mathematical calculations to back it up. My calculus is a bit rusty, yet it does work out. The GreenPeace people should be behind this technology 24/7/365…. even if to slowly bring it to market.

I know I’ve seen several documentaries that discuss the issue, as well. I will go back and search… but how about we don’t blow it to the gutter, just to suit yourself. You must be somewhat younger than I am.

      • Al Sieber

DaveH and Anthony, there was a inventor named Neuman? or Newman? that had something to do with zero point energy, or a perpetual motion machine, its my understanding he disappeared.

      • DaveH

        Anthony,
First, I want to apologize for calling you Alex. Don’t know where that came from, lol. You are definitely not Alex.
I am not attacking you, Anthony, just that particular comment. I grow weary of hearing the conspiracy theories of companies buying up great patents and shelving them to protect their profits. If indeed, the incident you cite is valid, their patent protection has long since expired, so anybody could drag out the plans and start producing them. Just think, we could get rich!

I’ve scrolled down through all and if I did not miss it no one mentioned PBS which is still regarded by most as the must trusted news outlet, certainly the most complete news coverage.

    • Anthony

I do watch PBS, Smilee. But, not the Political Commentary nor the Lehrer(sp) news shows, either. I’ve found him to be highly tilted.

What I started, about a year ago, was to listen to NPR on the way into work every morning. It is quite informative on a global scale. I never hear anything like it on any other Show.

Note – I also heard Steve Czaban is back on SportingNewsRadio … so, football season and the Czabe may ruin that little habit…LOL.

Fact is – I try to read up as much as possible… but the Big 3 and Jim Lehrer can take a hike in my book – they have nothing worth listening to…

Last Thursday evening, NPR had a tribute to the Orson Wells “War of the Worlds” 1938 Radio Airing… it was only bits and pieces of the actual event, but throw in some historical research, thru History afterwards and it was quite amazing. They also told about how that same event occurred twice since then…
      1. In Ecuador / 1947 (if I remember correctly)
      2. Buffalo, NY / 1978
Both times, everyone was suckered by the airing of it.

The more striking item – was the noting of how, the Reporting Style in War of the Worlds, has since been copied and propagated all over the News in what they call today… News-Reporting 101. They played comparisons between the show and today’s CableNews bits…

Outright, it was a DOH moment as they went thru the obviousness of it. In today’s society, this type of discussion is rare. And, this is why I like listening to NPR[90.1 FM]. They do not do that hardly anywhere else.

Otherwise, I stay within the Independent News Circles, who write real reporting with an attitude of irritation towards mainstream propaganda.

I think someone might have mentioned this Site earlier… but, it deserves a re-mentioning here —

      www-cnsnews-com

On the financial side, I forgot to mention I get daily emails from The Daily Crux, as a part of my StansberryResearch membership and that always leads me to news alerts with real value.

I see there is still a lot of give and take from both the liberal and conservatives in these blogs and it is good that we are able to do this as Americans. Making comments about someone in the government or about the government in some countries would be a dangerous and unwise thing.

I am a conservative but not a hard line one. I respect the comments and opinions of liberals but that doesn’t mean I agree with their views.

I like to see posts from Bob Wire, Norm and others but most often do not hold the same views. It is their right to say whatever they think.

That said, I have a few opinions that may surprise both the liberal and the conservative. One is, not all conservative are pro-war and I say this after spending 21 years in the U.S. Army. During those years, I became very familiar with middle east countries. It is because of this that, like another person in the posts today, said we should get out of those countries where we have forces. I couldn’t agree more. Americans are losing their lives for a cause which may never be won.
That is, until a stabilized government, education level and agreement/peace among the ethnic groups take place. I don’t see this happening anytime in the future and we are throwing money into those countries where, in several instances, they can’t account where it went and the cost of the wars is considerable.

Secondly, after someone mentioned Fox news being far right a few months ago, I watched a few of their personalities. Yes, there are some who swing far right but found some presented both sides including having guests on the show who hold, in some cases, very liberal views. Geraldo stands out on his show as being liberal; a patriot he is but no mental giant.
I found it hard to watch his show, not for his views but, like Keith Oberman, think he goes overboard without thinking about what he says.

One mentioned the New York Times in these posts as one of their sources of information. If you are liberal, it is a good paper but for a conservative, I simply do not agree but opinions are like rear ends, everyone has one. We all should accept our differences of opinion and be glad that we are free to do so. It is easier for me to digest comments if the diatribe isn’t present because it is a distraction and my thoughts then tend to wander to “Why is this person so angry about what someone said”?.

PBS, stands for Pure B–l s–t. it is a democrat outlet and by chance any truth does leak out you had better have a small mop to catch the few drops. It is a branch of the marxist democrat party, Like the Black Caucus, Black Panthers, the NAACP (Numskulled Assine Addelled Crimminal People, and any other wings of the marxist democrat party. Never have seen a program that wasn’t pushing global warming BS, or green energy, claimed we are running out of oil, don’t eat red meat, be a vegan or any other far left bildge fad. Even the kids cartoons or learning channel is full of PCed rot.

Your bias is showing, POB always give all sides of an issue, all parties, all view points and that is why polls show it is the most trusted, you far right wingers only like news shows that are slanted to your bias, you do tolerate others point of view that PBS offers. Now he said PBS, and you said POB. Is this one and the same? I enjoy the nature shows and the old music groups that our local PBS channel puts on, but I dont watch them when they have political folks on, because I know whats coming and I simply choose to turn them off. Now see, I like watching Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, and willingly tune in to watch them. However, I would highly suggest to those in these threads, that assault and slam them, to simply turn the channel when they come on if you dont like them, and let it go. I do it all the time when the liberal speak comes on, as evidently so does millions of other people, because all of them either get their shows cancelled because no one watches, or the Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermans have such low ratings, its a wonder they are still around, and its pretty much because they have no one else to fill in for them. But its simple, if you dont like it, turn the channel.

      i41….HOORAH.Well said.

About half of my regular drinking friends are onboard with our bar-room discussions on politics, health, etc. And, the other half spout off how they simply don’t want to hear about the “conspiracy theories”.

In other words, they’re scared and don’t want to be in a situation where it’s blatantly obvious and then they begin to feel like everything they live by…. is a lie – meaning all the work they did to learn the so-called Rules has been a waste of effort, and they damn sure don’t want to have to go back and learn how to ride THAT bike, …all over again. (I suppose there’s an easier way to say that in a shorter sentence, but right now, my brain’s on overload)

ANYWAY – I put this to you, in part because of my friends’ attitudes and partly because of the postingyou read after my discertation, from DaveH (who appears to have had ALEX on the brain when he clicked the mouse). Now, I like DaveH – we both agree with each other about 80% of the time.

So…. I want all to check out THIS website Article –

    preventdisease.com/news/10/081010_everything_is_a_lie.shtml

    Now, you tell me……

    • Anthony

After you get to the webpage and have read it….slowly…. look for this LINK —- titled as:

30 Facts Evidencing that The Gulf Oil Crisis Was Planned

These Independent Reporters do their homework, and to write them off as something to ignore means you are working for the very people trying to eliminate you… (and me).

Quote, from the secondary webpage = Item #3
“Ongoing worsening environmental pollution has been a primary objective of these Rothschild League financiers since at least the 1960s, according to their leaked economic agenda. Destroying the environment, thus creating new global threats for remediation markets and emergency management is unconscionable, but very real. This has become a viable alternative to traditional warfare securing profitable population control through crisis capitalism.”

Always remember… there is something extremely wrong with blind patriotism for the status quo… You made those people your Representatives in Government… IT’S YOUR JOB TO CHECK UP ON THEM… THIS IS CALLED VIGILANCE

Right now… who’s ruling whom, these days?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Well people are always trying to take advantage of others, by trying to convince them to think as they want them to think. Look at Al Gore. He almost got away with making billions with his full of baloney global warming lies. Yep. He almost got away with it. Obama got elected spending millions on commercials saying change, change, change, without telling anyone what he had in mind as a change. People are gullible, and when one jumps into the fray without first looking at what they are jumping into, 99 percent of the time, it is a big mess they are jumping into. Thats just how it is, as too many of us humans jump before we look.

    • Anthony

I seriously HOPE that Mr. Bob Livingston is taking the time to read this last Article link I have posted, as he does offer/direct his Readers to Financial Experts for wanted advice…

The “30 Facts Evidencing that The Gulf Oil Crisis Was Planned” link is there.. and when you read that, Mr. Livingston…. I’d like a return comment, sir.

      Your opinion is ?

    • Al Sieber

Anthony, I have no problem with everything I grew up with is a lie, and I don’t mind learning to ride that “bike” again, life is a constant learning process anyways.

      • Anthony

Sure would like to hear back from Bob Livingston.

    • DaveH

      Alex,
      Just kidding,
      Anthony,
Do not think because I disputed one segment of your comment that I disagree with everything you say. Sure, there are conspiracies. We would have to bury our heads deeply in the sand to deny that. But there are also many conspiracy theories that are totally bogus. No doubt there are people in power who purposely work together to take advantage of us. But even greater than that is the human tendency to believe whatever feathers our nest the most.
As an example, take a used car dealer. They don’t necessarily consciously want to take advantage of us. But since they are profitting from the transaction, they will avoid thinking negative thoughts about what they are selling. It’s just human nature. We look out for ourselves first, as do those in leadership positions.
It is up to us to recognize that and reign them in.
Most of those problems could be eliminated by simply taking the Power of Government out of the equation. We need to get back to Free Markets where the consumer has the power. That way companies have to operate the old fashioned way (produce the cheapest best product) if they want to succeed. They would no longer be able to substitute politics for productivity. And we could put all those mostly useless bureaucrats back to doing productive work. Instead of being negatively productive they could get their dignity back and be positively productive. This country would rock!

      • Anthony

I won’t belabor the point…. what you recommend takes what is obviously known as “control of our own Currency and control of our own Senators”.

Like it or not – He who controls a currency, controls a people.
When you figure out how to do that…. I’ll stand where I am.

My most common question to any Politician’s website?
“Are you ready to END THE FED?”

Anything else is blind patriotism for the status quo.
It’s OUR money and therefore we should be in charge of it.
It’s the only adult point of view.

        • DaveH

I would like to see the Federal Reserve forced to be transparent. I would like to see the dollar backed by hard assets (Gold, Real Estate, etc.). But I am a little leary of abolishing the Federal Reserve. What would we do then, allow Congress to print our money? That would be even scarier. So, I am ambivalent. Unless, maybe, after abolishing the Fed, we institute a rule that all new money has to be backed by Gold or some other Precious Metals. And then what would happen to all the dollars in circulation? They would almost certainly plummet in value. Not too good for all the people who stayed in cash, not knowing any better. My point is that this issue is not so cut and dried as many think.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

We have had an ugly bed made for us Dave, and its going to be hard to get out of it. But it sucks having this Fed managing the money they way they are. Something better has to be done pretty soon.

  • Anthony

And, yet… another link within a linked article…

I told you, I keep clicking on new links and/or google up comments and phrases….

    Read this one….

I think I’ve found a new friend in this Leonard G. Horowitz person. The person responsible for my “preventdisease” link I posted earlier…

At the end – he suggests: Conclusion & Solution
[We've always discussed the crap - now here's what we might do]

“We The People urgently need a new banking system that entirely excludes the aforementioned criminals [Rothschild Leaguers]. It must encourage investments in permaculture and sustainable production, not destructive and polluting consumption. It must discourage petrochemical-pharmaceutical toxicity that is killing us and most other species. And it must invest in suppressed alternative energies, including hydrogen fuel and Tesla technologies that have been kept from common use by the financial paradigm makers/enslavers.

The new banking system must value biological sensitivity, and love-based spirituality, more than lust for money, fueling a degenerative economy that is based on usury.”

I have to agree. In the 1770′s, WE had to deal with Rothschild Leaguer, Alexander Hamilton – who gave us the 1st Bank of the United States.. our first Central Bank – controlled overseas by Amschel Mayer Bauer’s 5 sons… who renamed themselves, The Rothschilds.

This family will enjoy lavish wealth due to our weakness of vigilance and therefore this Family could care less if it takes 500 years to accomplish their End Goal…this is the depth of their End Game. To them, all of what we have to live thru is nothing more than a JOKE….. on us. They will never suffer any of what we must… And, as I have said before… most of this is our own fault, for not paying attention when we should have… for ignoring the real evidence being spit in our faces, daily.

When I was younger, I could sense something wasn’t as our Leaders constatnly said it was… Yet I had no proof to back up the reasons why my neck was itching…. And, in that line of worry, I told myself that having children was probably not a real good move…. Still, I went ahead and did so, as we all eventually do….

And, now, I worry about what I might do, to help my offspring avoid what the evidence says is coming.. RE: Georgia Guidestone.

    Do you have children?

  • Anthony

Who wants to see more of the LINKS I might post for review ?

  • Anthony

This one, is NOT the first website, where I’ve read that BP purposely drilled into an under-water Volcano… Yet, a tthe time I read that other website, even I thought it hard to prove..

    Well, read on, McDuff —

    preventdisease.com/news/10/062210_methane_hydrate.shtml

    • Al Sieber

Anthony, I had a feeling this was a set up from the beginning. I’ve been listening to Mr. Horowitz for years. as far as Alex Jones goes, I still can’t peg him. Anthony, they drilled into a “Oil Volcano”, and a fault zone that runs from the “Gulf”, to S. America.

      • Al Sieber

“goggle” The History Of The Money changers, by A. Hitchcock. thats where our problems begun.

    • Al Sieber

Anthony, since mining and geology are my profession, the article on methane hydrate was of great interest to me. also, oil is not fossil fuel, it did not come from dead extinct dinosaurs. there’ll never be a oil shortage, the earth makes it naturally.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

If that truly is the case Al, that we will never have an oil shortage, then we dont need any other energy forms. But how do you know this? Im not saying your wrong, Im just saying I dont know if your right. How can we possibly know how much is down there that we can actually use and extract? And how do we know it wont run out? I myself am totally happy with the services I receive from oil, other than the fact that no oil companies need to make that much money, and our government doesnt need to tax it as much as they do. But Im just wondering how you come upon the statement that we will never run out? How do you know this, or are you just speculating? Like I said, I dont know one way or the other.

  • Al Sieber

Everybody, please pray for those miners, and their families in Nevada.

    • Anthony

Thank you, Al Sieber…. Your additional comments are highly welcome. I have been hoping to find others whose profession is different than mine – I work in the IT Field. Comments from experienced persons in any of the fields where I have posted LINKS, as long as they can be defined as credible and not just opposition for the sake OF…opposition, should always be welcome.

I know this – every item I research ends up pointing right back to where I started… about 19 months ago.

      iamthewitness.com/DarylBradfordSmith_Rothschild.htm
(this website is loaded and incredibly hard to disprove)

I keep trying to find evidence this Banking Cabal is nonsense – it only exists in opinionated rhetoric.. I have downloaded over 50 Documentaries – quite a few from Google/Videos… and practically all that resides on:

      • Al Sieber

Anthony, you’re welcome. every time I mention the Zionists on this site I’m called anti semitic by half a dozen people, like it’s taboo or something, I’ve been thinking about not bringing it up anymore, but I can’t keep my mouth shut.I’m glad you found that website, iamthewitness.com, okay. The History Of The Money Changers is pretty good reading.

        • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour. I guess that makes me a Zionist, and Ill proudly wear that moniker then, thank you very much.

This site will blow your mind! Packed with facts about history/politics…the news that doesn’t reach the people and also live radio talk show out of France…will open your eyes and change your perception of this world. PLEASE CHECK IT OUT AND PASS IT ON TO AS MANY PEOPLE YOU CAN!!

  • http://www.iamthewitness.com Christina

    SORRY THE WEBSITE IS iamthewitness.com

  • http://www.iamthewitness.com Christina

So I just took the time to read back at what’s being talked about here and I have to say to Anthony that I agree with everything you have brought up here. Ironically I just read your comment about iamthewitness.com and Daryl BradfordSmith…which was the site that I just recommended to everyone and is the site that opened my eyes further and really helped me to piece together alot of the info I’ve collected over my 31 years. I too have a 2 year old daughter and have felt the same way you have and am currently contemplating having another. I now realize that the problem in today’s world is beyond corrupted governments, world leaders, secret societies in control, Zionists and all they’ve been doing to reach their goal for world domination and control…what’s going on today is a real war…a battle between GOOD AND EVIL… and yes I mean Satan. I now beleive that he is the force that feeds all of the unjustice in the world today. I was raised in a Catholic home and because I always had questions about religion and life that nobody could answer to my satisfaction, I found myself searching for wisdom through many other Religions, cultures, all avenues of Spirituality, and anything/anyone that crossed my path. I have spent my life asking God and the universe to guide me, protect me, and lead me on my destined path even if that means going through tough times. I have always embraced the challenges that have been brought forth in the belief that God is helping me build the strength that I need to do my job. I’ve always beleived deep down, even though I’ve doubted myself, that I have a higher purpose and that I was brought here to help those around me and help change the world. Other than shouting out at my parents and sisters growing up “Don’t worry about me, I’ll always be fine, I’m special and I have a special purpose!” (which always resulted in comments like “when are you going to grow up…you need to get a normal job and start saving for your future or you’ll get nowhere in life”, I’ve mostly kept these beleifs to myself. I’ve learned that you have to be very careful on how you begin to share with others this type of info. The info I’m speaking about is THE TRUTH about how this world has been and is being run and what we can do to change it. Most of my family and close friends think I’m nuts! They think I’m obsessed with what they call conspiricy theories. They find it so hard to believe that the forces in power like Governments/Medical Industry/Food Industry are not trying to make our lives/health any better but instead keep us working like slaves…to make them stronger. We work our asses off trying to make some money only to hand it right back to them by just living and consuming all of their shit/products and paying our taxes and bills and following all of their laws and rules and even paying fines when we don’t. They’ve created a world which is so dependant on everything they can provide so when they decide to take it all away…and create KAOS…they can be the ones to bring ORDER. SCREW THEM! I’m onto them and all they do. I’ve opened my eyes and find myself seeing clearer and clearer…and I feel compelled to finally speak out and share my thoughts with the world. Please exuse my long reply here…I just discovered this posting section and just reading through everyone’s comments and repeatedly biting my tongue, I had to say something and shoot out my opinion. SO HERE IT IS IN A QUICK RECAP:
THERE ARE BLOODLINES DATED BACK TO THE BEGINING OF TIME WHO HAVE BEEN LIVING AND SERVING ONLY ONE FORCE..SATAN. TOGETHER THEY HAVE CONTROLLED AND MANIPULATED THE WORLD AND HUMANKIND AND HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING HIS PLAN FOR WORLD DOMINATION AND THE UPRISING OF EVIL AGAINST GOOD AND HAVE BEEN USING INOCENT HUMAN LIVES OVER CENTURIES AS TOOLS TO FUEL AND GENERATE THE POWER NEEDED TO ONE DAY WIN THIS WAR. I BELIEVE THAT GOOD WILL OVER POWER EVIL AND IF ENOUGH PEOPLE CAN THINK THIS WAY WE WILL FINALLY LIVE THE LIFE THAT GOD INTENDED FOR HIS CHILDREN.
Please send me your comments, thoughts, opinions as I’m always looking to EXPAND my awareness and I’ve come to these conclusions only because of my life experiences and all the reading/researching I’ve done over the last 10 years. It just seems SO (offensive word removed) OBVIOUS to me now and I can’t imagine anyone not being able to put the peices together. What boggles me the most is how people can go about living their lives and choosing to ignore what’s really going on in the world around us for reasons such as…”I have enough stress in my life to worry about politics” or “there’s always gonna be problems in the world” or “it’s hopeless the world is gonna end anyways” and my favorite “what I do won’t change anything anyways I’m just so small in the world” We are the world and if we come together with peace love forgivness and pure goodness we can become a powerful force that WILL rid this world of all evil. People tell me “Oh keep on Dreaming” and I say “I sure as hell will” Dreams do come true and I also believe that you create your own reality and your perception of it all is really all that matters.
Peace to all who need it :)
