What Happens To The Economy In Vegas, Doesn’t Stay In Vegas

May 24, 2012 by

In President Barack Obama’s world, misleading statistics and outright lies are facts. In actuality, the shrinking unemployment number proves the job picture is getting worse, not better. Wayne Allyn Root explains, using the numbers from Las Vegas to prove his point.

To get a clearer picture of what is actually going on in the Job Market, go here, check the Total Nonfarm Employment box, and then select the “Retrieve Data” button at the bottom:

    • nc

DaveH. thanks for the cite> Two things I noticed as I reviewed the various areas of employment! ONE: 2008 WAS NOT A GOOD YEAR FOR JOBS FOR WHO EVER WAS IN THE WHITE HOUSE ACCORDING TO YOUR CHART.

      • Dorian Douglas

        nc & others

Let’s not forget what caused the bottom to fall out in 2007 & 2008. It started with NINJA loans, first with a Chicago bank called Tallman Federal, in the mid ’80′s. Who was the community organizer (sit-ins in every office) who forced those loans on Tallman? (I was there.) Talman became the first bank to fail in the US since WW2.

Then in the ’90′s, congress (dems & pubs) made NINJA loans normal practice, & the administration threatened banks with loss of charters if they didn’t make those loans. But what happens when banks make loans that aren’t being paid back? Banks have no more money to loan for real needs.

Enter congress again, creating Fannie & Freddie to “buy” the bad loans from banks (with our tax $$$). Again, dems & pubs in congress forced it, because most were (illegally) making money off the scheme. Bush at least stopped the forced loans for banks; and In 2001, 2004 & 2005 tried to get Fannie & Freddie under control, but the congress (including the community organizer that started the merry-go-round, then became a senator) would have nothing to do with that.

Sooner or later, this whole scheme had to collapse under its own weight (many of us were speaking out about this for 20 years), although we did not have to collapse the banking system in 2008. That was done deliberately, for political purposes.

Point is, BO “inherited” the mess he helped create and helped to foster for 20 years. And we are the worse for it.

        Dorian Douglas

      • DaveH

As usual, NC, you are taking figures and coming to unwarranted conclusions. Why don’t you do yourself and us a favor and read this book, so that you can become more knowledgeable and we don’t have to listen to nonsensical comments from you?

      • Deerinwater

Hmm? Why Las Vargas? Las Vargas is the Emerald City, the city that could not be, 100% artificially supported, it was “willed” into existence by the excesses of human indulgence. Las Vagas could not flush a commode if it wasn’t for the Federal government investing $690 million in 2008 dollars to construct Hoover Dam.

I fail to see how using the Capital City of Excess could reflect on the rest of the nation and make a valid point. This city is the benefactor of hard times and a Federal water project implemented by a socialist republic in it efforts to address the needs of the many.

But as Daveh link provides, we have stopped the downward spiral of job lose and progress is been made, not as much as we would like to see but it is turning around and banks are beginning to lend again.

What is broken in our nation is still not fixed, Obama’s administrations has failed to muster the power to implement the real changes in Banking needed to clean up Wall Street. While a few men have went to jail, the SEC has been taken to the woodshed and there been a shakeup in management, it was not enough. Wall Street Bankers still hold sway and have too many liberties to do as they damn well please.

      • Brad

NC notiuce the figuers from 2006 on, the senate and house were democratic then as are still now. just cant make this stuff up.

      • Flashy

Dorian…please, try and be abit more accurate.

–> First, here’s a site which lists the bank failures from 1950 to 1979. your statement talman was the first and only up until then from WW2 is so false it ain’t even funny. Shall we also count the S&L crisis brought on us by that bastion of greatness Ronald Reagan .

Second…as to “forced loans”..ummm who would that be, under what statute and was a giun held to the heads of the Bank Directors? Careful now…you can’t blow smoke to someone familiar with the banking world.

Then in the ’90′s, congress (dems & pubs) made NINJA loans normal practice, & the administration threatened banks with loss of charters if they didn’t make those loans. But what happens when banks make loans that aren’t being paid back? Banks have no more money to loan for real needs.

—> OK…this is even a taller tale than the first. NINJA loans (No Income, No Job, No Assets need to be shown) came about in the late mid double oughts. Around 2006-7. They were the offspring of Stated loans. There was no government directive to create NINJA loans…and in fact, they were the product of sub-prime loans, loans which were outside the insurance and guaranty coverages of the feds. the only Stated loans in the 90′s were for small business and self employed people. They carried heavy restrictions placed by the banks and actually outperformed the asst-proven loans. Then came BushII, deregulation, the secondary MBS market, the politicization of the SEC and reduction in trained enforcement and regulators. Stated loans for W2 wage earners came into the product market in ’03. Want the guidelines ?

Enter congress again, creating Fannie & Freddie to “buy” the bad loans from banks (with our tax $$$). Again, dems & pubs in congress forced it, because most were (illegally) making money off the scheme. Bush at least stopped the forced loans for banks; and In 2001, 2004 & 2005 tried to get Fannie & Freddie under control, but the congress (including the community organizer that started the merry-go-round, then became a senator) would have nothing to do with that.

—> Whoa…FYI, FNMA and Freddie mac have been with us since i believe the 1930′s. No one “forced’ them to buy into the secondary market. They came into that market buying MBS (secondary securities0 on their own to get in on the money. they didn’t “buy” anything but off the secondary market. your fallacy that Bush II did anything to put the stops on FNMA and Freddie are humorous. It was just the opposite. look at the SEC actions during that time as well as who was pushing for the housing market to expand. Ummmm….Bush II and the GOP. The move you place as ‘getting them under control’ is also untrue. Bush II and the GOP wanted to privatize FNMA and Freddie Mac much as they tried with SS and Medicare. If you ever looked at the copies of the hearings, the idea was that FNMA and Freddie were to be sold to the large banks to stuff their portfolios and have 5 little “FNMA/Freddies” in regionalization and controlled by the big banks…with no regulation since they would be the creators of any regulations of banks and mortgages.

Dorian, by what you wrote as “being there”, I would venture if you were ‘there”, it was as a bank teller. It’s obvious you know nothing about the MBS market or banking.

      • eddie47d

Thanks Deerinwater and Flashy for telling the other side of the story. No matter who is to blame the phony housing bubble brought out the worst in many including Capitalism Wall Street Greed ,Government and even the individual buyers and investors.

      • Vicki

Flashy provides no cites (as usual) and fails to notice the cause (as NC often does too) so I will provide a cite that covers the why of the no money down.

      • Flashy

i know Vicki…i expect too much from folks who desire and are capable of nothing more than spoon fed garbage. Slothlike and lazy comes to mind.

As for commenting on your YouTube cite…thanx for the humor. It is not even close to detailing reality and what was and is.

BTW…if you state i am in error…please feel free to counter and point out where etc.

Vig, 45 and a very few others engage in healthy reasoned debate. others just cast a generic claim and think such exemplifies intelligent life.

      • DaveH

Flashman says — “As for commenting on your YouTube cite…thanx for the humor. It is not even close to detailing reality and what was and is”.
And then he says “BTW…if you state i am in error…please feel free to counter and point out where etc.”.
Ditto, Flashman. Instead of rebutting Vicki’s youtube info, you choose ridicule — typical for Liberal/Progressive discourse.
The thing is, Flashman, that with your multiple personalities, your lies, your slander, your advocation of theft and violence, and your plagiarism, you just have no credibility on this board. So why would anybody take your word for anything?
Vicki, on the other hand has exhibited no evidence of dishonest behavior. I would not question her comments without solid proof to the contrary. Yours on the other hand, Flashmans (when I even bother to read your trash) are always questionable.

      • Flashy

        And thus speaks the ignorant….

      • DaveH

Well, no one made you speak, Flashdunce.

N.C. I see that the Brain Damage is not any better, who was in charge of the House and Senate the last TWO Years of Bush’s Administration?? THE DEMO-COMMUNIST’S. Who cares about the Illegal’s working in the hospitality service when we have 22% unemployment
with the American workers. We are also $6.2 Trillion more in Debt with nothing to show for it and Gasoline is more than Double since Asshole took over, our food supplies are 33% higher, our highways have not been fixed our Bridges have not been fixed and our Electrical Grid is 3 1/2 years older since Obamination took over and Obamination has STOLEN $500 Billion Dollars out of Medicaid. Crow about that Moron. P.S. The Stock Market has fallen 900 points in two weeks. Economy is going gang busters and what about those 4,000,000 forclosures this year.

      • Tom W.

        Just checkin’ in, goodnight folks!

    • Katrael

DaveH, let’s lay aside the idea that there are many people who are just milking the system for a free(not) drink of milk as we all know there are enough of them out there. What it looks like to me is that the the numbers that show how many are currently receiving food stamp benefits give a real indication as to whether the true number of unemployed is going up or down. It would seem that when we see this number shrinking over a period of time we’ll know then that the total number of employed is going up or possibly that the government has begun to cut off food stamp recipients due to the cost?

      • moonbeam

I read a report the other day that talked about the folks with PHDs who are now on food stamps. Spent all that money and time on a good education and can’t find a job.

HP is getting ready to lay off 27,000 people to save $3 Billion. So what we have here is more jobs lost, more foreclosures (can’t pay the mortgage if you don’t have a job). It just keeps getting worse and worse with more worse coming.

Hey, just had a thought. If they can do a recall on Scott Walker, why can’t we do that with presidents???? If We The People feel our best interests are not being served, why can’t we do a recall on a president? Why do we have to sit and watch our beloved country and her Constitution be ripped to shreds and the people have no recourse?

We all know what happens to us if we do not perform the jobs we are hired to do. We get CANNED. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Didn’t watch the video because I would rather read the text, but the unemployment figures are pure hogwash. The rate is more like 50% if you have 48% (last figures I saw) of the people not working. Just counting the number of folks who looked for a job the past 4 weeks doesn’t cut it and does not give us a true picture.

        • Katrael

moonbeam, we can’t just recall the president as the constitution set up the legal means to dispose of one through impeachment proceedings. We the people petition the House of Representatives to initiate the impeachment process then the Senate takes the Houses Plea for Impeachment and does the actual impeachment proceedings. This is a tough process but it was done this way to intentionally slow things down. People often react hastily and sometimes will cool off if given enough time. Our job now it to convince the House to bring up charges for impeachment.

      • talkinbout

How come you folks seem to be always railing about poor or unemployed folks getting government assistance but I never hear anything about the government giveaways to big business regardless of which party or President is in power. Right now, your government is giving away over $110 Billion, no questions asked, to the richest oil companies on the planet – just because they lobbied for it.

        • Katrael

talkinbout, you have a good point if it were true that nobody on this site ever talks about the government give away programs for the wealthy. I won’t speak for anyone else though I believe there would be many who agree that all, and that means all, government give away programs must come to an end.

As for this government being mine? It’s all of ours whether we like it or not. We all fall under it’s tyranny regardless of what anybody thinks about it.

      • Nadzieja Batki

Talkinbout says, where have you been? You are using your query as a distraction. The posters and the article writers have condemned parasites and moochers whether of rich or poor persuasion living off the taxpayers.

        • Katrael

Nadzieja Batki, I didn’t think I was the only one that felt that ALL government gratuity programs needed to end; for the rich and poor alike.

    • s c

DaveH, let’s expose the darker side of Obummer’s lies and fantasies the easy way. Remember, we’re dealing with paid shills, utopian liars and all manner of semi-human filth. Older people who were looking forward to RETIREMENT are staying on the job and some have GONE BACK TO WORK. They can’t afford to RETIRE, and Obummer’s LIES can’t cchange it.
Obummer relies on continual Hitlerian and Stalin-type lies. It’s akin to a pasture muffin passing itself off as a gourmet treat. In the REAL world, a pasture muffin is a pasture muffin is a pasture muffin – and NO politician can change that. Ex-students in their early 20s are having major PROBLEMS finding jobs, and they can pay off their INSANE student loans. High school kids are being faced with a nasty dose of reality. It seems that Obummer’s “reality” is a political tool designed to force brainwashed lemmings to reject truth and facts. They are in love with their fuhrer.
Let Obummer and his useful idiots think what they want. However, no matter what they say or think, Amerika’s economy is on its knees, and Obummer is the cause. Chew on it, utopians. Flush the toilet, Amerika! It’s FREEDOM or that Liar-in-Chief.

  • MAP

Wayne, you forgot to mention that everything is Bush’s fault. Har!

    • MAP

If I had to find one word to describe a system of government like that the DNC represents, that word would have to be ‘dysfunctional’.

      • nc

Map, as soon as you can spin the 2.1 million people who lost their jobs in the year 2008 BEFORE Obama was sworn in to be Obama’s fault then you can blame large unemployment on Obama!
As an adult, how long do you think the conditions that caused American businesses to begin lay offs BEFORE 2008 lasted AFTER 2008//// DO YOU REALLY THINK THOSE
How typical is Las Vegas to other US towns of the same size? Do you think maybe some of the first things people might give up in hard times are vacations and gambling?? Just asking!!!

      • Warrior

Let’s call it what it really is. “progressive dysfunction” For the majority of you democrats, you didn’t even realize your political affiliation is now being run through the “socialist party of amerika”. Anyone in the “private sector” of American life who thinks they are still a democrat, really should tell your union “bosses” they’re on the wrong side of the tracks. Oh, and that goes for “rino’s” as well.

      • DaveH

NC says — “Map, as soon as you can spin the 2.1 million people who lost their jobs in the year 2008 BEFORE Obama was sworn in to be Obama’s fault then you can blame large unemployment on Obama!
Just asking!!!”.
As usual, NC shouts, as if that somehow makes his superficial comment more credible.
When Bush took office, NC you zealot, the non-farm employment was 132466 million. When Bush left office the non-farm employment was 133561 million, for a net job “creation” of over 1 million jobs.
Now let’s contrast that with Obama’s job “creation”. When Obama took office the non-farm employment was 133561 million. Three years later, the number of non-farm jobs (last non-preliminary data) was 132720 million, for a net Loss of 841,000 jobs. Yeah we know, NC, Bush’s gains were due to things Clinton did, and Obama’s losses were due to things Bush did. Do you nonsensical Liberals every accept responsibility for anything, NC?
But for those who live in the Real World, the facts are that Government can’t “create” Productive Jobs because everything they do is political. Given that Government always insulates itself from the voluntary forces of the Marketplace, and they have the power of Force, the results are rarely productive. And to get the money to “create” their jobs, they had to take money from the Private Sector which is beholden to the consumers and thus must be productive or perish.
Add to that the fact that most of the jobs that Government “creates” are bureaucratic jobs enforcing onerous regulations on the Private Sector. That results in Negative Productivity because they are stifling the productivity of Private companies by setting up costly hoops for them to jump through. And the reality of most regulations is to stifle the competition of politically-connected Big Businesses, who instead of pleasing the consumers please the Politicians with gifts and campaign support.
You know, NC, it’s one thing for you to be ignorant. That’s very forgivable and treatable. Just read this book:
But it’s quite another for you to encourage others to be ignorant. That’s not forgivable.

      • Donald York

I personally don’t want to hear about how bad the economy is, that’s a broken record. I want to hear what we as a nation of freedom loving people can do to get our country back on the road to recovery! I sure hope our next president does’nt play the blame game for three years of his presidency like Obama has. We wont accept another divider as our president. Everyone realizes that it will take time to undo the messes that Obama has created for our country. The whole of the democratic party must be defeated in November starting from the top.

      • DaveH

        The answer is here:

      • Deerinwater

Right! It was the excesses of the GOP, the only unfunded wars in American history that accompanied tax cuts that created this mess and you what them back in control of things again. I understand , up is down and good is bad and bad is good.

You would give Reagan Credit for a Clinton economy 15 years later but you expect Obama to turn things around in 3 years. I see how you are.

I’ve learned how to communicate in “republican”,

      • OneGuess

nc, who was in charge of the Congress and the Senate in 2007-2008?

      • Flashy

Two items folks should note. gives the Bush II job growth in perspective. the worst since stats have been kept (1945). As for who controlled Congress in ’07-08…i guess the spending that went on before, the groundwork gutting regulators and politicizing management in every agency, etc….all could magically be repaired and or altered by Congress in one year, with a GOP presidency …since ’08 was the year the bottom fell out.

finally…here’s a nice tidbit for y’all. Guess what administration has the lowest growth in government spending since WW2. C’mon….venture a guess. yep…President Obama’s administration. fact is…those administrations having the HIGHEST growth of government debt as well as expenditures is….yep…Reagan and Bush II, in that order.

        Chew on that for awhile.

      • Patriot

Disregard nc or Flashy, they fail to remember that the Demo’s, progressive, liberals, whatever they call themselves these days were in complete control of both Houses of congress the last 2 years of Bush, These political hacks purposefully did nothing so they could balme Bush for everything and it worked, but the folks that made a mistake the first time will not be fooled into voting for a Fool again!

      • kid

does anyone realize when our companies started outsourcing jobs to china and mexico, and all the cheap stuff started rolling into the USA that’s when the jobs disappeared? form the steel, to textiles to toys, you name it. go into any store and pickup any item and see where it’s made! I go to harbor freight to get tools at a good price. they are lifetime guaranteed. EVERYTHING in that store is made in china. if american business people want to send their products overseas because we have such high taxes I don’t blame them. but, they SHOULD HAVE TO GO LIVE IN THE COMMUNIST COUNTRY WHERE THEIR PRODUCTS ARE NOW MADE AND TOOK AMERICAN JOBS AWAY. also, 1st it was automation that took away jobs, then outsourcing. the US government allowed that to happen without foreseeing the cost of what it would eventually do to OUR economy. this all started before Bush. I cannot tell you with who but the entire government was to blame in not stepping in, lowering the corperate tax that caused the outsourcing or not forcing those folks to go live in those commie countries. as long as we have a dem senate, nothing will change. as long as we have a potus that does dirty deals under the radar without the approval of we the people, nothing will change. I say, do away with congress as the voting power of new laws and spending. put EVERYTHING to the vote of WE THE PEOPLE. we are no longer represented by those we elect. they are now parasites to us feeding off of us and our tax dollars. they vote themselves raises, the highest health care, the fancy life styles the D.C. parties, the limos, 500$ suits. THEY are 1%.

      • DaveH

Flashman says — “Two items folks should note. gives the Bush II job growth in perspective. the worst since stats have been kept (1945)”.
One big problem with that comment — The Government doesn’t create productive jobs. Job growth occurs in spite of Big Government, not as a result of Big Government.

      • Flashy

in an amazing example he doesn’t know what he’s talking about…DaveH comments on a link showing private sector job growth and states it as government job growth. As seems to be your methods DaveH…you don’t read the links you or anyone posts for comment. LOL

      • DaveH

Wow, Flashdunce, you’re sinking to new lows of dishonesty.
Did you or did you not say — “gives the Bush II job growth”?
You should seek help, Flashdunce. Your mental problems are beyond my ability to repair.

      • DaveH

Hurrah for Harry Reid………Nevada is getting what it voted for…… “incompetent” Democrat leadership……..

It isn’t just the Democrats, Warrior. Both parties have been successfully infiltrated with Progressives, since the late 19th century:

  • Rasta

More lies by the Right Wung War Mongers!

    • DaveH

That’s odd. Aren’t we still involved in Afghanistan, and didn’t we just engage in an Unconstitutional War in Libya under Obama? And aren’t our sabers rattling against Syria and Iran, with Obama still in charge?

      • Flashy

“That’s odd. Aren’t we still involved in Afghanistan, and didn’t we just engage in an Unconstitutional War in Libya under Obama? And aren’t our sabers rattling against Syria and Iran, with Obama still in charge?”

Hmmm…and Afghanistan has gone on for so long sitting festering exactly why? Why are we in Afghanistan (it certainly isn’t because we ‘avenged’ 9/11. There is no reason we went to war in Afghanistan that is connected with 9/11). Bin laden is down and feeding the fish. We are getting out of Afghanistan which we should not have been in at all.

What ‘war’ with Libya? I am aware of the US support for a revolution…to oust a dictator supporting terrorists. One which Reagan tried snuffing several times. but unaware of any ‘war”.

Iran…ya seen the headlines? by staying calm and working the economics and diplomatics…instead of going and bombing like the majority of the neo cons and far right urge…iran is strangled economically, unable to export much oil since the oil ports have computer glitches, and lo and behold…are coming to the table.

Syria…Hamas and Hezbollah aren’t happy campers there. the economic and weapons pipeline with Iran is shut off, is anyone willing to state Assad should be kept in power ?, and with no American blood being spoiled…he’s on the way out and the terrorist organizations are much much weaker.

But then…analysis isn’t one of your strong points DaveH.

      • eddie47d

I know Dave H knows this but Gingrich,Bachmann,Cain,Perry,Santorum and Romney were campaigning on more intervention in the Middle East. He also knows how long it takes to withdraw troops from any intervention to avoid blowback. He also knows that if Ron Paul is elected that there would never have been an Iraq War or even one in Afghanistan. Obama could do better in bringing the war to an end but he has to deal with the cards dealt to him.

      • DaveH

Did I say who first involved us in Afghanistan, Flashman? That is irrelevant to my comment. And nobody really knows who’s feeding those fish. The facts have been buried at sea. We’re getting out of Afghanistan? But, duh Flashman, doesn’t that mean we’re Still There? Equivocation will only win you points with fellow ignorant Progressives, Flashman.
You can equivocate all you want, Flashman, but it was a War in Libya by any other name, and Obama did involve us in that War. Even to the extent that one of his fellow Democrats was calling for his impeachment (Dennis Kucinich):
And again, Flashdunce, your statements about Iran and Syria do not rebut my claim of saber rattling. So what exactly do you think you’re proving wrong in my comment?
As usual, Flashman, you have chosen double-speak over informative comments.

      • Flashy

In your response DaveH to a comment about war mongers, you used Afghanistan in attempting to paint that brush on the Dems and this president. He inherited a mess, straightened it out, accomplished the original mission abandoned by the GOP (snuffing Bin laden), and is getting us out…not in. talk about twisting and squirming attempting to backtrack …look in the mirror.

What war with Libya. Did either declare war on one another? Were ground forces committed? Any US servicemen die in combat? We sent in arms to rebels, and flew sorties to assist the rebels. There was a war…and the GOP didn’t press the issue on the War Powers Act did they. Oh, they yelled and waved it about…but never pressed the issue.

As for Syria and Iran and saber rattling. This President never threatened to invade or use military force. he stated it was not off the table…but no negotiator would take that off the table.

Take away the inherited mess Prs. obama has in iraq and Afghanistan, Any one of the past three GOP administrations, with a body count of any one administration, far exceeds the total for the past three Dem Administrations combined.

So you oppose the administration policies towards Iraq or Syria? The other option is commit troops. Since one option is to commit troops, and such is not contemplated right now…i’d say your broad strokes are falling on empty air. You kicked the can down the road and are blaming everyone but those responsible…the Far Right.

Excellent idea and one can do this online in most states as long as you are not claiming or have exhausted unemployment benefits. If 350,000 did this between now and September the unemployment rate for be at least 9% by election day which is still a far cry from the actual rate of close to 17%.

    • DaveH

No, Dan, the Constitutional way to fund the Federal Government is for the States to pay for it in a proportion based on their population size.
      See here:
“Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons”.
That’s why the Census was established.

  • Roger

Fortunately, Nevada is not typical of America. The existence of Las Vegas depends upon transferring wealth from productive parts of the economy to a class of service workers who produce nothing but entertainment. You might decry Hollywood for essentially the same taking of wealth, but at least a movie ticket does not take as significant a portion of wealth as a trip to Vegas.

Further, the means of classifying unemployment, as imperfect as it is, did not originate under Obama– it has been that way under Republican as well as Democratic presidents. It provided much more meaningful statistics in another era (one wage earner per family, employment for most of a career for a single employer in an 8-hour job). That era is long gone. Get over it.

    • DaveH

The bottom line, Roger, is that nobody is forced to leave their wealth in Las Vegas. Government, however, does relieve people of their wealth by Force. That’s the difference. If you don’t want to risk losing your wealth in Las Vegas — Don’t go there. We don’t have the same option with Big Government.
And Government Unemployment or Government Employment figures are necessarily superficial. They do not reveal the level of productivity involved in the existing jobs, so there is no real way of knowing from them if the jobs are positively productive or negatively productive. If we, for instance, lost all of our high tech sector jobs to being waitresses or janitors, obviously even though the number of jobs might remain the same, the level of productivity would be greatly diminished. Even worse if those new jobs were bureaucratic jobs which are Negatively Productive.
The best that Big Government can do for our economy is to get out of the way of the private sector and let them do what they do best — Please their customers (or perish).
Anybody who wants to awaken to the real world can study this ranking of countries and learn that wherever Government is bigger, the economy is lesser:

Also, It’s obvious that you haven’t read this expose that I linked to:

Regulations have one main purpose — to protect Crony Capitalists from their competitors. And neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have shrunk the volume of regulations. They have different Crony Capitalists usually (but not always), so they prefer different sets of regulations usually, but they Still Both Regulate prolifically.

People are being frugal with spending, which they should be. Las Vegas businesses requires that people spend all their monies to thrive. Why don’t the republicans talk about the fact that the democrats held majorities in the congress the last two years of the Bush administration. They have essentially been making the laws and budgets for almost six years.

Were they weary of the DOWN SIZING THAT WAS STARTING TO COST THEM JOBS? A downsizing that was to become a full blown reecession in two years!! Did they see things that the wingnuts were denying that were soon to rear their ugly heads??
I read an article in News Max that as early as 2005 a leading investor and economist was CORRECTLY predicting the collapse of the housing market by at least 50 % and with it the shock to the financial market! Things were happening that didn’t set well with the American people and it only got worse!! Hence the election RESULTS of 2006 and 2008!! Those election were not the cause of the problem! I do know that a bit of study shows manufacturing and other related industries are hiring more, while government is laying off faster than industry can pick up.

Duh, NC, how will they set costs and rates where they choose? I have never had medical insurance and never will. Did they somehow miss me in their efforts to force their products on us? If you don’t like their rates, then don’t buy their policies. It’s as simple as that. Or, better yet, since you have all the answers, start your own Health Insurance company and show us all how it’s done. Conjecture is so much easier than putting your money where your mouth is.
And for goodness sake, NC, read the section — “Regulation of the Healthcare Industry” starting on page 192 of:

Did you have to pay for your Critical Theory training, or is it included in your pay package?

For those who are unfamiliar with the term “Critical Theory”, the most common first question is what is the theory? The answer is: The theory is to critisize, critisize everything from a Marxist point of view. Critical Theory, which was initially outlined by Max Horkheimer in his Traditional and Critical Theory (1937), “critical theory may be defined as a social critique that is aimed at change and emancipation through enlightenment.”

Take away the positive sounding doublespeak and you get, The act of critisizing anything and everything that strays from the Communist Manifesto narrative.

Check out U3 VS U6 unemployment calculations. The US government used U6 calculations in the 30′s depression era. Now the US government uses U3 calculations. Now they try to compare our present day U3 calculations to the 30′s U6 calculations. One other strange thing is that all government employees in the 30′s were counted as unemployed back then. Don’t understand that but it is a fact. U6 calculations more accurately depicts the number of people who have been out of work so long they are no longer eligible for benefits and therefore no longer counted as unemployed. It also takes into account the underemployed. Every scientist knows that you don’t compare apples and oranges. Do a search on it online and may your eyes be opened wide.

it is fair to blame bush for the economy. first, he had the nerve to inherit the dot com bust, precisely dated on the day i failed to call our 401k people to move my account into stable assets (march 2000) and then stupidly for him the economy collapsed after 911. my 401k really started to hum after he was re-elected in 2004, but that was because everyone was looking ahead to obama. what happened with bush was he was too lame duck to respond to the economic situation. they had a quarter showing a downturn, and so seeking the path of least resistance (which of course is always a very unpopular alternative for all of us) they waited to see if the next quarter would improve. when it didn’t they sent out those checks, which had no effect, but they had to wait to see this. this took them to october 08, and by now his presidency is winding down, not an auspicious time to launch a major economic overhaul. but it turns out that what they did do did work, because we are told that we came out of the recession in july of 09. just when i sold my condominium for a loss of $25,000. it was my buyer who got that obama tax credit, by the way. she picks up my property at a distress price and sits there on her $7000. tears of gratitude still come to my eyes as i think of it. comfortingly, though, she would probably get an even lower price, now. why? i can’t say but it rhymes with osama.

In the USA today, Obama’s economy has only 64.3% of Americans of working age, 18 through 62/65, are gainfully employed, with unemployment at 8.1%. Both Romney and Obama have claimed, if they win the November Presidential election, that at the end of the next Presidential term, 4 years later, that they’ll both have unemployment down to 6%, but the difference in their claims is that under Obama less than 50% of those Americans of working age will have a job, and that other 14.3% that were employed today will have lost their jobs and will be dropped from the workforce, according to Obama’s stataticians and unemployment calculators. Where will that 14.3% of Americans end up, on welfare, food stamps, and disability, in other words on the governments dole, creating even higher deficts than the 1.5 trillion dollar deficits that Obama has averaged every year he’s been President. If Obama is re-elected, by the end of his second term, the national debt will reach at least 24 trillion dollars, from the 16 plus trillion dollars it is today, if the economy and the US Dollar does collapse first.

    • kkflash

If you really care about America and its future educate yourself with reliable facts.

People who really want to know the truth do their diligent research on non-political websites; not just repeat what they hear on Republican radio and FOX TV or the plethora of websites written by Obama/Democrat haters.

Spending growth? What does that really mean? If you spend 1 penny 1 year and 2 pennies the next year, you have 100% growth per annum. But if you spend $100,000 one year and 120,000 the next year, you have only 20% growth per annum.
In Reagan’s first year for instance (1981) Federal Spending was $678 Billion.
In his next year Federal Spending was $746 Billion. That was a growth rate of 10% per annum. In Reagan’s last year (1988) Federal Spending was $1064 Billion ($1.06 Trillion)
In Bush Jr’s last year Federal Spending was $2982 Billion ($2.98 Trillion).
In Obama’s first year (2009) Federal Spending was $3517 Billion (3.52 Trillion).
That was a growth rate of 18% per annum. But the notable thing was NOT the growth rate of Federal Spending in Obama’s first year. The notable thing is that Obama’s Federal Government is now spending 3.5 times as much as the Federal Government spent under Reagan, who Liberals like to label as a Big Spender, in his last year.
Figures don’t lie, but liars can figure.

Just because someone states that the unemployment rate is dropping, doesn’t mean that more jobs are being created or people are finding work.
Common sense should tell you that the people looking for work, that could not find these “now abundant jobs” have stopped looking and have given up.
Thus, since these folks have given up the ghost, Obummer now removes them from the reports being created that show unemployment percentages. This creates what is commonly known as a LIE.
You are being LIED to, but, “There’s nothing common about common sense.”

First of flashy, nc, and deerinwater, please stop and take a deep breath of fresh air. I live in Vegas and believe it or not we happen to be a good economic indicator. It is true much of our economy is based on tourism. When people have money to spend they go on vacation and sometimes here. Guess what? Tourism is still down. The numbers that are fed us are skewed but the reality is that room rates are just starting to go up as is the visitor volume. That sounds good except when you realize that the spending per person is still way down from levels before the crash.
The employment picture is even worse. When asked by Neil Cavuto if the jobs eliminated by his corporation were going o come back Jim Murren of MGM said flat out no. Guess what? He was right. Hotels have been busy shedding outlets that they previously run themselves and are outsourcing them. The success has been mixed at best with no real home runs. Businesses are running scared right now with some major corporations looking at bankruptcy if anything goes awry. If Obamacare hits or Taxmeggedon hits I will guarantee a complete and utter slaughter on the payrolls that do exist. The only option for these corporations to take if Obamacare hits will be to drop the insurance and pay the penalty to the IRS. Of course that will put approximately 35,000 people on government insurance rolls which will sink our healthcare system. You see we have doctors that are leaving the practice of medicine because Medicare keeps cutting the payments so just extend that out and you can’t help but see what happens.
Historically Vegas was the first to come out of a recession so much so that people used to say we were recession proof. Not anymore. So please realize that Obama needs to tout lower unemployment in order to get re-elected. If the truth was put out there with all its glory he would not stand a chance.
Do me a favor. Would you please stop blaming Bush and get more creative? I was not one of his biggest fans but the blame Bush is old and worn out and definitely not as true as some would like it to be. Do that or else I will start saying you guys are related to Debbie Wasserman Shultz;)

The Shocking Truth About Unemployment In America In One Chart
The mainstream media is not telling you the truth about unemployment in the United States. The percentage of working age Americans that are employed is not increasing. In March 2010, 58.5 percent of all working age Americans had a job. In March 2012, 58.5 percent of all working age Americans had a job. So if the employment rate is exactly the same as it was two years ago, then how in the world can the Obama administration claim that things have gotten significantly better since then? According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the official unemployment rate in the United States was9.8 percent in March 2010 and it declined to 8.2 percent in March 2012. So how is this possible if the percentage of working age Americans that have jobs hasn’t moved? Well, what they do is they claim that there are millions upon millions of Americans that have “left the labor force”. In other words, they claim that there are millions upon millions of unemployed Americans that don’t want jobs anymore. Of course that is a total farce, but the mainstream media and most Americans are buying it. They actually believe that the unemployment rate is going down. But the truth is that the unemployment crisis in America has not subsided. In fact, we are pretty much exactly where we were two years ago, and things are about to get a whole lot worse.
If you want to know the shocking truth about unemployment in America, all you need to do is to look at one chart. The chart posted below shows the change in the employment-population ratio over the past few years. What the employment-population ratio measures is the percentage of working age Americans that actually have jobs. As you can see, it fell dramatically during 2008 and 2009, and since then it has been hovering between 58 and 59 percent….

So there has been no employment recovery, and this is very odd because the employment-population ratio always bounces back after a recession.
The chart posted below shows how the employment-population ratio has changed since the late 1940s. The shaded areas represent recessions. Please take note that after every single recession (other than the current one) the employment-population ratio has always bounced back substantially.

During the most recent recession, the employment-population ratio fell farther than it had during any other recession in the post-World War II era.
If these were normal economic times, it would have been reasonable to expect a huge surge in hiring by now.
But we have not seen that.
Instead, the employment rate in the United States has been remarkably flat for more than two years.
So Barack Obama should not even begin to say anything at all about a “recovery” until the employment rate at least breaks the 59 percent barrier.
In the past I have written about how fraudulent the employment statistics put out by the federal government are.
Well, fortunately there are some folks up on Capitol Hill that are starting to take notice of this phenomenon as well. There is a new bill in Congress that would change the way that the unemployment rate is calculated….
A Republican lawmaker is intensifying his push for legislation that would change how the government measures the unemployment rate.
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) intends to press GOP leaders to move his bill to include the number of individuals who gave up looking for work in the percentage of jobless claims.
Of course there is probably not a chance that such a bill would ever get through the Senate, but at least some lawmakers are trying to get people to notice what is going on.
The sad truth of the matter is that the employment crisis in America is still about as bad as it was a couple of years ago.
Do you remember a couple of months ago when Barack Obama spoke with the wife of an unemployed engineer and asked her to send his resume to the White House?
Well, it turns out that the unemployed engineer still doesn’t have a job….
More than two months after President Barack Obama asked for Darin Wedel’s résumé, the phone is quiet, e-mails are no longer flooding in and the long-sought-after job interviews — which had begun to be scheduled — have petered out.
“Not even recruiting companies are calling anymore,” said Jennifer Wedel, the Fort Worth mother of two who chatted online this year with Obama about her out-of-work husband.
She says his job search has been hurt by a program to hire skilled foreign workers.
But Barack Obama is doing the same thing on a national level.
He is promising all of us that things are improving and that there will be lots of jobs for everyone soon, but it is all a lie.
The truth is that this period of relative stability that has been purchased by unprecedented levels of government debt will soon give way to even more economic trouble.
One of my readers recently brought to my attention a list of some of the major companies that are currently getting rid of workers….
Ford will be laying off 1,200 assembly line workers later on this month.
Pittsburgh-based paint and coating manufacturer PPG has announced that it will be laying off 2,000 workers.
J.C. Penney recently laid off 600 workers and has plans to lay off another 300 workers in July.
Lockheed Martin has announced that it will be laying offhundreds of workers.
Dow Chemical has announced that hundreds of workers are going to be laid off.
Yahoo has formally announced that it will be getting rid of about 2,000 workers.
Sony has announced plans to eliminate 10,000 jobs globally.
Even Oprah Winfrey is laying off workers. Oprah is reducing the size of the staff at the OWN network by 20 percent.
Meanwhile, our economy continues to bleed jobs at an astounding pace. At a time when American workers desperately need jobs, millions of them continue to be sent overseas.
In fact, even some jobs that you would think would be impossible to outsource are being given to foreigners. Just recently, ABC News did a major report on all of the roads and bridges all over the United States that are being built by Chinese companies. If you have not seen that report yet, you can view it online right here.
If you go into a Wal-Mart or a dollar store and you start turning over products you will find that huge numbers of them are made in China and that very few of them are made in the United States. China is absolutely dominating us on the global economic stage. Last year our trade deficit with China was the largest trade deficit that one nation has had with another nation in the history of the world. Yet we continue to pursue the exact same trade policies year after year.
So how is the American economy ever supposed to recover if we continue to play to lose?
As a nation we spend far more than we make, we consume far more than we produce and our federal government implements thousands of new business-crippling regulations every single year.
If you still have a good job, you should treasure it and you should try to hold on to it for as long as you can. Soon the next major economic downturn will be upon us and millions more Americans will lose their jobs and their homes.
Things did not have to turn out this way, but we made horribly bad decisions for decades and now the consequences are catching up with us.
    You better get ready.

There isn’t an across the board unemlpoyment problem. There are more people employed by goverment than there are in all industries combined. Now the government people fall into the overhead column. People producing consumptive and capital things and selling said things have to make enough money to afford all those government peoples paychecks, retirement checks, healthcare checks etc. Industry is surviving, maybe, in spite of government meddling, not because of it. Each election day we listen to the people who have a track record in destroying the economy for ways to fix the ecenomy. Am I missing something?

Are all those politicians promising jobs going to hire everybody else? Or are they just going to cost workers for their “services”?

    • Wildey

Of course companies are laying off. One way to create black ink on the books is to lay off people. The “parent company”, the government, is in trouble so all of its “subsidiaries” are in trouble. We’ve priced ourselves out of the world market with unrealistic, but vote getting, minimum wages etc. etc.

Hate to say it but we need the illegals with their low wages and willing to work attitude. Making citizens of them won’t work because that will price them out of the market. The Free Market is a ruthless place. As people buy, vote, they are deciding on whether companies live or die. The market functions under the transcendental law, God’s laws.

  • Me Again

If the economy was getting so much better, why did they have to stay with the lengthy unemployment checks (from 99 weeks to 73). The MARXIST regime is stuttering

  • gfsomsel

Yet another good explanation of the deceitfulness of the gov’t unemployment figures. Sometimes less is more. It would be a good idea to drastically decrease the hand waving (especially when seated). It is distracting. I was looking for the onions you appeared to be chopping.

  • Wildey

Regardless what your business is there’s people who produce your product and people who promote and sell your product. And then there’s overhead. Accountants, lawyers, and their like. They add nothing to the product or its sale but are necessary to make the company function properly.

Are we missing something? Not that I know of. Oh! The governments knocking at the door. They have such a deal. Put us on your books as OVERHEAD. We’ll only cost you about 60 cents to 70 cents on every dollar make. What are we going to add to your business? Duuuh. Aside from taking your hard earned money, we’ll regulate your business to the point you might not suvive. We’ll dream up reasons for our existence by creating paperwork for you.

I told them, as far as I know your there to create and maintain an infrastucture so I could do my business according to my wishes. I’d want you to protect my country but not interfere with other countries affairs. I’d want you latent unless called upon. Like all overhead, I’d want you as cheap as possible. There was a time when I didn’t even talk about overhead, other than look for ways to reduce it, but now your the monster at my door. Oh I’ve heard the cliches’, “from cradle to the grave”. “I’m here from the government and I’m here to help you” and so on but I never dreamed they would come true.

I’ve got something for you gov’t. It’s called the Declaration of Independence. Take it to heart. Pay attention to it and we’ll all be better off.

45 Signs That China Is Colonizing America

The following are 45 signs that China is colonizing America….

#1 It was recently announced that China’s Dalian Wanda Group has bought U.S. movie theater chain AMC Entertainment for a whopping 2.6 billion dollars. This deal represents China’s biggest corporate takeover of a U.S. firm ever.

#2 Earlier this month, the Federal Reserve announced that it has given approval for banks owned by the Chinese government to buy stakes in U.S.-owned banks.

#3 A few days ago Reuters reported that China is now able to completely bypass Wall Street and purchase U.S. debt directly from the U.S. Treasury Department.

#4 A recent investigation by the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services found more than one million counterfeit Chinese parts in the Department of Defense supply chain. How in the world could we be so stupid?

#5 After being bailed out by U.S. taxpayers, General Motors is currently involved in 11 joint ventures with companies owned by the Chinese government. The price for entering into many of these “joint ventures” was a transfer of “state of the art technology” from General Motors to the communist Chinese.

#6 A Chinese company known as “Sino-Michigan Properties LLC” has purchased 200 acres of land near the town of Milan, Michigan. The goal is to build a “China City” with artificial lakes, a Chinese cultural center and hundreds of housing units for Chinese citizens.

#7 As I reported on recently, corporations controlled by the Chinese government have been rapidly buying up U.S. oil and gas deposits worth billions of dollars.

#8 Chinese investors have been gobbling up real estate all over New York City. The following is from a recent Forbes article….

According to a recent report in the New York Times, investors from China are “snapping up luxury apartments” and are planning to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on commercial and residential projects like Atlantic Yards in Brooklyn. Chinese companies also have signed major leases at the Empire State Building and at 1 World Trade Center, the report said.
#9 The Chinese are also doing huge real estate deals in cities in the middle part of the country. The following example is from an article in the Toledo Blade….

Dashing Pacific Group Ltd., which has already purchased the nearby Docks restaurant complex for $2.15 million, put its $3.8 million offer to buy the southern 69 acres at the Marina District in East Toledo back on the table for approval by Toledo City Council. Additionally, Dashing Pacific Chairman Yuan Xiaohong, in a letter signed in Hangzhou, said the firm wants a two-year option to buy the decommissioned Toledo Edison power plant property on the site.
#10 According to ABC News, major road and bridge projects all over the United States are being built by Chinese companies. Meanwhile, there are millions upon millions of blue collar American workers that cannot find jobs. The following is a brief excerpt from a recent ABC News article….

In New York there is a $400 million renovation project on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

In California, there is a $7.2 billion project to rebuild the Bay Bridge connecting San Francisco and Oakland.

In Alaska, there is a proposal for a $190 million bridge project.

These projects sound like steps in the right direction, but much of the work is going to Chinese government-owned firms.

“When we subsidize jobs in China, we’re not creating any wealth in the United States,” said Scott Paul, executive director for the Alliance for American Manufacturing.
#11 The new World Trade Center tower is going to include glass that has been imported from China.

Our leaders have sold us out.

    • Wildey

No. China has a huge investment in America and has to recoup it’s losses. When we make payments to the Chinese they are with cheaper dollars than we borrowed. The last I heard we discounted our payment by as much as 12%. We’ve all seen that when a company is giving signs of being in trouble the creditors garb what they can while they can get it. Works the same with governments.

      • FreedomFighter

Only if your leaders sell you out in the name of globalism.

        Laus Deo
        Semper Fi

      • DaveH

It depends on what Globalism means, FF. If it means Government deciding who and who not to trade with, you’re correct. If it means Free World Markets, you are wrong. Trading Freely takes advantage of everyone’s skills to the maximum, resulting in maximum productivity. To stifle that with Protectionism is to decrease the amount of goods and services in the world economy and we all suffer as a result.
Imagine, for example, that your family decided they should trade only with family members. Obviously you would be impoverished in short order. That example scales to any size group of people.
For those who want to learn:

  • terris

The way that the unemployment numbers are calculated are taken from NEW filings. Not extensions, not those who can no longer draw unemployment. It has been that way for many decades. Why are you pretending otherwise?

  • snibbodmot

Typical…if you would all stop acting like your political party is a religion for a minute and step back and look at the big picture you would notice that BOTH parties have spent most of their existence sodomizing US!!! It’s BOTH parties fault it got this way. BOTH sides lie constantly and would say and do ANYTHING to stay in power! Pull your heads out! People act like the world is going to come to an end if Obama is re-elected or if Mitt Romney is elected President…EVERY Presidential election cycle it’s the same old tired rhetoric from both sides’ propaganda machines…I have news for you…Doesn’t matter who’s in Congress or the latest figurehead in the White House…everything is going to continue on the path it’s been on for the last 90 years or so. But, you just keep blaming each other on the internet…I’m sure that will work out OK…

  • bobgood1

When are all the lies being told by this adm in Employment, Jobs going to be reported correctly. Lying as a person or a Government is rehensible.

  • needfulthings

I came, I saw, I listen’d and I’m still waiting for one (just ONE) statement that was true?

    • DaveH

      Certainly not yours, Need.

      • Drobat

Your response makes little sense, and shows that you provide ill-considered responses to positions that you disagree with.

  • Sue

Tea Party was born from the minds of those who love the USA as it was intended to be under the Constitution. There is so much greed in both parties,so many born in another Country that are now in high offices, that see the USA run against the Constitution and in their view. If the Country is to remain loyal to the Constitution , Only those legally born in the Country, should be able to serve in any local and federal office and those who are, but try to rule instead of govern and those who do the first thing against the Constitution, should face prison.

  • James Graham

    : GO DUTCH…!!!mw

Now here’s a nation with common sense,
    and bottle…!!!

The Netherlands , where six per cent of the population is now Muslim, is scrapping multiculturalism:
The Dutch government says it will abandon the long-standing model of multiculturalism that has encouraged
Muslim immigrants to create a parallel society within the Netherlands .
    So what do YOU think?

About time somebody did something sane rather instead of politically correct.

Go the Dutch – but why wait until 2013?

A new integration bill, which Dutch Interior Minister Piet Hein Donner
presented to parliament on June 16, reads:
“The government shares the social dissatisfaction over the multicultural society model
and plans to shift priority to the values of the Dutch people.

In the new integration system, the values of the Dutch society play a central role.
With this change, the government steps away from the model of a multicultural society.
The letter continues: “A more obligatory integration is justified because the government
also demands that from its own citizens. It is necessary because otherwise the society gradually
grows apart and eventually no one feels at home anymore in the Netherlands .
The new integration policy will place more demands on immigrants.
For example, immigrants will be required to learn the Dutch language,
and the government will take a tougher approach to immigrants who ignore Dutch values or disobey Dutch law.

The government will also stop offering special subsidies for Muslim immigrants because,
according to Donner; “It is not the government’s job to integrate immigrants.” (How bloody true).

The government will introduce new legislation that outlaws forced marriages
and will also impose tougher measures against Muslim immigrants
who lower their chances of employment by the way they dress.

More specifically, the government will impose a ban on face-covering,
Islamic burqas as of January 1, 2013.

Holland has done that whole liberal thing, and realised – maybe too late –
that creating a nation of tribes will kill the nation itself.

The future of Australia , the UK and Canada may well be read here.
READERS NOTE: Muslim immigrants leave their countries of birth because of civil and political unrest

Countries like Holland Canada the UK and Australia have an established way of life
that actually works, so why embrace the unworkable?
    If Muslims do not wish to accept another culture, the answer is simple;

This gives a whole new meaning to the term; ‘Dutch Courage’ –
Unfortunately Australian UK and Canadian politicians
don’t have the … guts to do the same. There’s a whole lot of truth here!!!!

ELECTION 2013 IS COMING A Nation of Sheep, Breeds a Government of Wolves!
I’M 100% for PASSING THIS ON!!!
    Let’s Take a Stand!!!
    Borders: Closed!
    Language: English only!
Culture: English Constitution, is the Bill of Rights!
Drug Free: Mandatory Drug Screening before Welfare!
    NO freebies to: Non-Citizens!
    We the people are coming!!!

Only 86% will send this on.
Should be a 100%. What will you do?

    • Katrael

James Graham, great post. The history books are full of the stories of tribal warfare. There is nothing wrong with keeping your culture alive but as you pointed out we need to be able to interact peacefully and this country which was founded on certain principles common to the majority of people who came here. We used to demand that immigrants successfully integrate with society and not the other way around. All ready shared.

    • profhambone

When you say drug free does that include alcohol and cigarettes which kill tens of thousands per year? Or is it just pot which has killed….hummm….no one through over-dose like alcohol? Will a positive on alcohol disqualify people from welfare? How about cigarettes (since they have no nutritional value)? Or is it just the DEA line that you spout? The DEA who busts medical marijuana distributors rather than chase down the speed manufactoring plants in the desert….Must be easier to arrest potheads than speed freaks (and a lot safer)…….And why are there pictures of US soldiers protecting poppie fields in Afghanistan you know, the ones that become heroin)? Is that good? DEA good?

  • Drobat

Can you please explain tome how you found out the 20,000 Las Vegans gave up looking for jobs “forever,” while 2,000 found new jobs? It seems as though no matter what the president does or says, you simply disagree, which is fine with me. I enjoy a good debate, but you provide no solutions, only bandy about ridiculous claims like people gave up working for a living for the rest of their lives. And then you bring up every social program you can cram into one belabored, chap-lipped breath. You sir, are a douuuuche bag.

    • wayne allyn root

This is Wayne Allyn Root, the host of the video you are commenting on. The exact figures I quoted of 2000 Las Vegans finding jobs in the past year…versus 20,000 Las Vegans leaving the workforce in the past year…were reported by the State of Nevada in their April unemployment report. It was all reported in the Las Vegas Review Journal front page story of a week ago.

No, I don’t make up numbers. I am a well known and credible media personality who double checks every statistic I give out in my columns.

The biggest lies are told by republicans. They are experts at lying about what their bills will accomplish, who their bills will help and then blaming Democrats for the problems created by their legislation.. The sad thing is their mindless followers believe everything without researching any of it.
The Democrats are not without guilt, but they have a lot to learn (from the republican play book) about manipulating their followers.

  • Palin16

Hoping to hear of several GUILTY verdicts handed down to John Edwards(D-NC) today. You remember, that guy that John Kerry (D-Mass) chose for his running mate back in 2004? Maybe they can arrange for him to share a cell with Blago (D-Ill). The hypocritical Edwards is about to meet the other of the two Americas he envisioned! Time for some Dom perignon!
