Venezuelan President Back From Cuba
CARACAS, Venezuela, Aug. 14 (UPI) — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez returned to his country Sunday following a second round of chemotherapy in Cuba, officials say.
The president was greeted by government officials at the airport, CNN reported.
“Good morning, beloved homeland,” Chavez posted on his Twitter account, adding “What a beautiful full moon greeted us at midnight.”
The 57-year-old leftist leader announced in June that doctors in Cuba removed a cancerous tumor from his body, not specifying what kind of cancer he has. He has since returned to Cuba twice for chemotherapy treatment.
