A Utah woman is facing a litany of charges after she allegedly tried to use a pound of bacon and a gas stove to burn down her ex-boyfriend’s home.
Cameo Adawn Crispi of Uintah County was charged with third-degree felony arson, burglary, assault by a prisoner, interfering with an arresting officer, electronic communication harassment and intoxication on Wednesday in 8th District Court.
During the alleged incident, the 31-year-old contacted her ex with “multiple phone calls and texts.”
An officer went to the man’s home and observed smoke drifting out of the front door and Crispi in a state of impairment.
“I asked to come in and observed a wood stove left open with a fire burning inside and hot coals on the floor around the stove,” the officer wrote. “I observed the burner to be on the setting ‘High’ and the bacon to be severely burned and smoking badly.”
After putting out the fire, the officer arrested Crispi. She had a blood-alcohol content of 0.346 and was taken to the hospital rather than jail.
“The doctor asked her about the fire … and she stated she was attempting to start a fire in the house to get back at (her ex-boyfriend),” the arrest report states.
