U.S. Funds $20 Million Pakistani Sesame Street

U.S. Funds $20 Million Pakistani Sesame Street

At a cost of $20 million to the American taxpayer, U.S. officials have decided to create a version of Sesame Street for Pakistan in order to combat growing radicalization in the country.

The television show, which will feature a cast of Pakistani characters, is part of a broader commitment to provide the country $7.5 billion in foreign aid over five years, according to the Associated Press.

The show will feature a female character named Rani, who loves traditional Pakistani music, who is reportedly supposed to teach Pakistani children about sexual equality and the importance of female education in the male-dominated country.

Seventy-eight episodes will be aired in Pakistan’s national language, Urdu, over a three-year span, as well as 13 in each of the four main regional languages, Baluchi, Pashtu, Punjabi and Sindhi. The shows will appear on Pakistan state television.

The show will reportedly appear much like the American Sesame Street, though without Big Bird and other iconic cast members. Each episode will follow a similar format to its Western counterpart, but the Pakistani Sesame Street will reportedly focus much more on Mideastern themes.

    What???

  • home boy

get your own back yard in order first america

    • http://www.popham08.com popham

      Absoutely, irrefutably, positively correct.
Based upon Pakistan’s recent ‘performance’ as our so-called ally,
I wouldn’t give them $20 towards such a ludicrous project.
And $7.5 billion over the next five years?
This is insanity. Where are the leaders of America?

      • eddie47d

We’ve been giving them billions in military hardware for decades and that hasn’t worked out very well. Maybe it’s time for a different approach. Teach kids there is more to life than growing up to become Jihadists. Better than having them brainwashed in Islamic schools and being taught to die for Allah.

      • db

They’re in bed with the enemy.

  • Jan

You gotta be kidding, the adminitstration keeps harping about infrastructure, jobs, etc, and they’re throwing more money away for S**t like this? Also to a nation that doesn’t give a rats arse about us.

    • http://www.popham08.com popham

Bingo. So much needed here at home and we give away billions
to an abjectly corrupt and ungrateful country like Pakistan???
What in the world is going on?
Is Congress completely out of its mind?
      Good luck, America.

    • KHM

      @ Popham and Jan
I agree with both of you. This country should not be spending $$ we don’t have on such a ridiculous project in a country that is corrupt, is not an ally and will never be a trustworthy friend to this country.
Let the Pakistanis come up with their own shows.

      • eddie47d

By treaty they are an ally although not a very good friend. It’s fine to want our money left in America but how would you handle this ally.Would you rather keep pouring billions into their war chest as we have been doing? Remember we also give billions to India to keep these two countries from shooting nuclear missles at each other. Few blink when those dollars are spent but get upset over this new approach.

        • http://naver samurai

These 2 countries also used that money to create and stock their nuclear arsenals. Though I do agree that it was money not well spent. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

  • SerfCityHereWeCome

Wow, this is just drawdropping; the “Arab Street” ought to be delighted and love us even more now that the decadent “West” is throwing away nonexistent money on trying to brainwash and indoctrinate Muslim kids into the gay lifestyle which is so “revered” in the Muslim world… Gee, what could possibly go wrong HERE…?

  • Lost in Paradise

This 20 million is small potatoes, to the money we are giving the Palestinians every year. $500million. Why does our government continually give OUR MONEY, to our enemies? Now Hillary is trying to bring more students in from Iran.

  • Bus

A covert operation to screw up the next generation of Pakistanies?

  • D Blount

Our founding fathers are rolling over in their graves. How can this possibly happen? Vote the turkeys out of office———-every last one
    !!!!!

We need a complete tranfusion in Washington! We work and work and pay and pay Uncle Sam to send $ for this kind of crap when we have hungry Americans, widows barely making it, and children in poverty.

    I am mortified.

    • eddie47d

We’ve been fighting terrorists for decades and giving away trillions to keep these countries in check. We can go back to the 50′s in our trying to control the Arab world. Our accomplishments have been few and has built hatred for America in various parts of the Muslim world. We sold or supplied this area with trillions in weaponry and were foolish enough to think there would be positive results. I’ll admit our government can be deaf dumb and blind by doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results but to lam-bast Sesame Street is more childish than the characters themselves.

      • http://naver samurai

One reason you have missed was our support of Israel. Since the moronic muslims believe that Israel needs to be wiped out, they’ll attack their allies also for supporting them. Remember how we sent them suppies during the Yom Kipper War? That really pissed them off, but who cares? If they threaten to cut off our oil, we can just cut off their food and “DRILL BABY DRILL” in the northern tundra of Alaska. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

    • http://Yahoo Ann

I agree with you. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

    • http://naver samurai

Right on. But instead of giving unconstitutional hand outs, give them training and tell them to stay in school and graduate, not drop out like some of them do. Education and training are the keys, not welfare. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

  • Cliffystones

I can’t wait to see the episode where Bert decapitates Ernie for being an Infidel!!

  • Honestly

The people running our government have totally lost their mind. What about feeding and helping the TRULY needy in America. I have seen it all now.

DON’T GET MAD YOUR VOTE WENT A LONG WAY KEEP VOTING THE GOOD OLD BOYS IN OFFICE.AND THEY WILL PULL YOUR PANT DOWN AND SPANK YOU AND YOU MUST LOVE IT YOU VOTE THEM IN OVER AND OVER.SO IT’S YOUR RIGHT TO WASTE YOUR VOTE.

  • Star37

Can only believe the Muslim Brotherhood is brothering all O’s decisions from the WH…are our enemies in control of us? So much for building “infra structure”…NY City?!…Bridges to where?

    • eddie47d

Since the Republicans won’t allocate money to build those bridges maybe you better have a chat with them.

      • http://naver samurai

If the liberals would quit spending money we don’t have and lower taxes, these things may be more possible. After cutting certain departments and certain items, they would have the money necessary to spend on these projects. Don’t just blame the GOP. You know darn well the lib, gay loving, baby killing, marxists are doing the same thing. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

  • kirrau

wonderful! Coz there so many ways you use to kill a cat.if the program focus mainly on Children, it will help to change not only the current society, but even generations to come.congratulation USA.

    • http://naver samurai

This is a possibility, but how effective will it be in a muslim state? FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

  • Sam Stone

Keep the 20 million and just let them watch our congress in action. It is about as close to Sesame Street as you can get.

    • Joyce from Loris

LOL, you are so right!! What a cartoon it all is.

  • Chris

OH well,What the hell is twenty million dollars anyway,Our Goverment can always print more!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bill wright

It just goes to prove to me once again that most of the people in Washington D.C. don’t know what the hell their doing.Isn’t there something else they should be doing??

  • Joyce from Loris

I hope everyone supports the 11-11-11 protests that will be held by our nation’s retired and current military, police offices and others in D.C. They are calling for the impeachment of Obama and his administration for treason against America.

    • http://naver samurai

Now this is a real protest and not the morons of the OWS group. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

  • Gringo Infidel

Perfect! The plan is working. Corrupt their youth and undermine their society in one generation.

seep into their culture and undermine it within. Hey, isn’t that what jihadists are doing in the West?

  • nowhereman

Gotta remember, we (collectively) are the ones who permitted these morons to be voted into office. I don’t think the problem is so much that the ones who voted these idiots into office but rather most folks don’t bother to vote at all.
