Two Indicted In Pornography Bust

MIAMI, Aug. 18 (UPI) — Federal prosecutors have indicted two men for luring young women to Florida where they were allegedly drugged, sexually assaulted and videotaped.

Investigators said in a news release Lavont Flanders Jr., 40, of Miami Gardens and Emerson Callum, 45, of Miami were arrested and charged in a 22-count indictment with conspiracy, attempt to commit human trafficking and human trafficking. Flanders also was charged with drug distribution.

The two were scheduled to appear in court Thursday in the Miami before U.S. Magistrate Ted E. Bandstra.

Investigators allege the two men lured aspiring actresses and models to South Florida for audition. There, investigators said, the women were allegedly required to drink alcoholic beverages that had been doctored with Xanax.

After the drug took effect, Callum allegedly engaged in sexual acts with the women while Flanders allegedly operated a video camera. The resulting videos were then allegedly sold on the Internet and elsewhere.

Callum is the president and sole director of Miami Vibes, a South Florida business that produces and distributes adult pornography. Callum allegedly included the video recordings in CD’s he sold online and at local stores.

Flanders was also charged with distributing Xanax.

U.S. Attorney Wifredo A. Ferrer said several law enforcement agencies participated in the case, including the FBI, the Miami-Dade Police Department, the Hollywood (Calif.) Police Department and the Miami Gardens Police Department.
