TSA Upgrade To End Naked Scanner Images

TSA Upgrade To End Naked Scanner Images

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Transportation Security Administration Wednesday said it is updating scanner software to end the use of images that show a passenger’s naked body.

The new software allows the full-body scanners in use at 78 U.S. airports to show images of objects under a person’s clothes without creating an intrusive image.

“By eliminating the image of an actual passenger and replacing it with a generic outline of a person, passengers are able to view the same outline that the TSA officer sees,” TSA Administrator John S. Pistole said in a statement. “Further, a separate TSA officer will no longer be required to view the image in a remotely located viewing room.”

The new software is intended to end complaints by privacy advocates that the full-body scans amount to an invasion of privacy, even though screeners viewing the images do not directly see the person being scanned.

The updated system has been tested at airports in Las Vegas, Atlanta and Washington since February. If the scanner detects an object under clothing, the passenger will still be patted down.

“In the coming months, TSA will install the software upgrade on all currently deployed (on Advanced Imaging Technology) millimeter wave imaging technology units at U.S. airports nationwide,” Pistole said.

Fox News said the upgraded software could be in operation on 200 scanners at 41 airports by year’s end.

OK, so it doesn’t show your body being slow roasted any longer.
I guess out of sight, out of mind makes in dandy OK!
Lets roast some more travelers, big pharma needs to sell more
chemotherapy treatments! more big medical needs to pay for more
yachts and fast cars with the administration of the drugs they are
taught to use by big pharma!

Jim, you are only half right, There is a concerted effort to do away with as many people as they can!! The FDA (Federal DEATH
Administration) is doing it’s best to make people sicker, and die!! Soon we will be unable to get the nutrients we need to stay healthy…REMEMBER the Head Dr. of the FDA said, “Humans do no need nutrrients”!! Guess he thinks we can live very well on toilet paper!!
Guess why the “sudden” shortage of “Critical” Drugs!!! It’s called the Eugenics movement!! soon they will make diabetes drugs scarce…that would kill off millions!! Big P_harma will make even more money from the sickly that are remaining!!

Jim, we KNOW we can trust what TSA says, don’t we? Let’s see if their track record is any better than Obozo, our Liar in Chief! They said they weren’t “naked body images” until they got on the internet, then a “minor” correction! They said the radiation was very low dose…OOPS, ummm well…we will get there! Their people doing the radiation are coming down with cancer en masse…they tried to cover it up and hide it!! Now they tell us the X-rays, of which a very little can give you thyroid cancer!! won’t show the naked body…Of course we will believe them…aren’t they “honest”????????

For me, the key here is “software.” Is the scanner talking a naked body scan still? Yes. As much as it was before. Same data. Just a different image. In reality, the scanners before used software to translate the data provided by the scanners into the naked body renderings that have caused so much controversy. So now we will use the same data that could be used to create the naked body image and filter out (or cover) the data for the naked body. The data is still there, it simply not rendered onto the monitor. Instead we select to show just the data not consistent with human anatomy. The irregularities. So here’s a question, what if someone with irregular anatomy were to go through this new and improved imaging process? Would it should all their irregular anatomy as well? Or is the software filtering based on some other filter such as the density of our bodies and how the radiation they dump on us scatters according to contact with flesh? If it is filtering out data that occurs according to contact with skin, does that mean if someone figured out how to duplicate the scatter of skin that they could then attempt to dupe the machines into not reporting contraband smuggled through the scanners?

When muslims are irradiated, fondled & “inspected” as American citizens currently are, then I’ll believe the propaganda they’re spewing. We’ve been lied to so many times by this adm. that one more lie about updating scanners is hardly believable.

The level of radiation will still be beyond dangerous. That is what should be stopped.

  • Justin

This will only change what shows up on the screen. The scanners themselves still have the same capability. All that would have to happen is for some pervert to use software to store the raw images out of the scanner before they are modified by higher level software used to show the images on the screen.

In other words, this may stop people from immediately seeing people nude, but it will still be very possible to save the images.

I think this fix is meant more to satisfy people, not to truly fix the problem.

Hmmmmmm…..Me thinks the TSA is about to lose a lawsuit on x rays, and number of airline flights are on a downward trend. Regardless, they will still grope your junk as they please…..Stay off the planes folks.

      C130 Gunship,

      Great points… agreed.

FREEDOMS are still lost to travel …with gov union TSA ‘radiation scanners’ and TSA ‘sexual assault gropings’ …checking us even though there is no Reasonable Suspicions, nor do we Fit the Profile…

Software Upgrade or no upgrade…still equals LOSS of FREEDOM !

TSA has on at least 1 occasion stolen objects out of my suitcase. Many passengers have been victims of this, besides the fact that their incompetence doesn’t make airports any more secure. A friend of mine coming back from a book exhibit had accidentally left a boxcutter in his carryon. They never found it at security!!

If TSA is so safe why isn’t it used at the border? After all, the TSA is supposed to be looking for terrorists, isn’t it? I wonder how many deformed children are going to be born out of this. The vaccines are bad enough creating more autism. I would like to see the app for these TSA’s and see if it excludes pregnant women from doing the screening.

I guess if the scan does effect the thyroid, we will either have more obesity or skeleton people.
