TSA Fails To Keep Airports Safe

TSA Fails To Keep Airports Safe
A metal detector was left unplugged at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The Transportation Security Administration caused quite a ruckus in the Big Apple over the weekend.

TSA failed to screen countless travelers at John F. Kennedy International Airport. A metal detector was unplugged.

Screener Alija Abdul Majed failed to realize that the metal detector was never set off throughout the morning. At 9:44 a.m., it was discovered that the metal detector had not been plugged in.

When agents realized that tons of people had passed through unscreened, the airport was in a state of pandemonium. Flights were delayed, and two planes that had already taken off were called back to the airport. Passengers were forced to go back through security screening.

“How many hours will it take to send a terminal full of people BACK through security?” tweeted one passenger.

The day before, about 10 miles away at LaGuardia Airport, TSA’s efforts to keep travelers safe went up in flames as an X-ray machine caught on fire. Six hundred people were evacuated from the terminal.

“It’s an adventure. They’re doing a good job. They’re doing the best they can. Things happen,” said one passenger.

Despite TSA’s recent boondoggles, the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs is considering a bill that would give TSA oversight over other forms of mass transit.

“We have put in place through TSA a very elaborate system [in airports]. We all go through those metal detectors and those secondary searches. And we’ve put a lot of focus on the airlines for good reason. But we have neglected the mass transit components, generally speaking,” said Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.). The House passed the bill on May 30.

TSA is a government run organization; therefore it is incompetant, inefficient, wasteful, corrupt and irrational. Despite the proven failure of government in almost everything it does, some morons want the same type of people running our health care system. It is time to take a chain saw to government and cut this malignant beast we call government down to size.

Maybe someone will do everyone a favor & disconnect the money supply from the treasury to the white outhose

  • T. Jefferson

They are too busy feeling up your kids and grandmothers.

  • TIME

Your only as SAFE as you think you are, Do we really need the TSA?

The answer is quite simple; NO!

But to keep the CONtrol Grid in place for your masters, who serve their masters, then the answer is – yes.
They want you to think you need to be safe from some kind of BOOGIE man that oddly they created just for you!

Some day a long time from now when people really have woken up and understand that they have enslaved themselfs, rather it was by self design, or what ever, – well it’s going to be way to late.

But then again humans are rather mindless being not unlike sheep just tell them what to do and they will follow no matter how stupid and mindless the task.

    Peace and Love

True – we have allowed the productive to be enslaved by the unproductive, but there is hope if we fight back. The problem is, most of us are too comfortable in our fetters to fight. In a few years, when the democrats have turned this nation into a nation of impoverished peasants, it may be different. It may take a little hunger and poverty to motivate us to throw off our malignant and oppressive government.

Eliminate the TSA and do it the way Isreal does. It shocks me the only people they try NOT to offend are the ones profiling would reveal as the most likely to commit acts of terror. Unplugging a scanning machine makes you wonder if it was a dry run or someobody was supposed to be allowed through in this incident. Dogs remain the best explosive detectors, yet again, that certain minority (and I mean religous choice NOT race) claim to be offended by dogs and insist they not be used.

Apparently the TSA is to become America’s version of the SD or worse, the Gestapo. Especially if Obama is re-elected. The TSA organization has got to be neutered, not enlarged like a swollen prostate. That it is out of control is now beyond question. That it hires incompetents, previously of the work level needed for baggage handlers, many with criminal records, and worse, muslims as terrorists screeners, is an outrage.

November can’t come soon enough. If my Senators, either one of them, votes to continue or expand the role of the TSA then I shall work tirelessly to oust them. We will be told that it is ‘necessary to protect us’ from Islamic Terrorists yet they hire Islamic’s as screeners. William Pitt said it best: “necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.” Let’s get rid of the TSA, not encourage them!

Remember, Freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Go get ‘em!

    • BigBadJohn

Let’s see Bush and the republicans started TSA, Obama has expanded it. How is one party better than the other????? Both are after your freedoms and civil liberties. The NDAA was another great idea from conservatives and Obama signed it.

Your only option is to vote for someone that supports the constitution.
Write in Ron Paul even if it is just a protest vote against both parties in Washington.

      • auhunter

The only problem with this thinking is if Romney loses, because of the split vote then we are stuck with Obama/Soetoro/Adams, or what ever name he is using these days, for another 4 years.

Imagine that. Our gubmint is INCOMPETENT and TSA is near the top of the incomoetent list. Still, those TSA yahoos get DO paid to do whatever it is that they do. Are they unionized yet? From their behavior, they seem like prime union candidates. That is, PAY us more than we’re worth, never criricize us, let us do what we want and SHUT UP when we make it clear that we need to be FIRED.
Maybe they were trained using the Post Office as their ‘model.’ At any rate, when the election comes up, remember who loves the TSA and who has a vested interest in getting rid of the TSA. Choice is a wonderful thing, folkks. Appreciate it while we still have it. Also, remember that if you voted for a certain twit to prove that you’re not a racist, please vote for ANYONE else to prove that you’re not insane.

Completely wrong conclusion in the headline. How many psycho bombers got through even though the metal detector did not work? The TSA is not needed to keep airports safe! Profiling is all that is needed.

They’re busy worrying about their best boob contest to pay attention… when the contest has been over for quite a while. The biggest boob is Oscumba. Remember to vote the man out in November, so that Trump can tell him, “YOU’RE FIRED.”

  • JW m

The government does only one thing well – the military.
But then again their job is to break things and kill people.
    Do you see any paralells?

  • mac

The headline should have read: “TSA Not Needed to Keep Airports Safe.”

  • Buck

The only thing that will improve the efficiency of the TSA is its complete ELIMINATION . Its only real function is to put enough people on the federal payroll to hold the real unemployed numbers down . The only single group , though smaller , that is less competent , is White House occupants and their staff .

  • Jess

Are these people nuts? The TSA has done nothing but cause problems since it’s inception. What about the part of the constitution that say people will not beforced to be searched or their property seized without due process? The TSA is an affront to the constitution and to the American people and should be disbanded. Would you want your daughter frisked and groped in front of others or in any circumstance, or how about your elderly mother or father who may have fought and bled for this country being treated as criminals by a bunch of idiots that don’t have enough sence to realize that they are not God almighty. Get rid of these fools and get rid of the Patriot Act that took away our freedoms. Fear of what happened on 911 is no excuse for us being treated as suspects in our own country. It is time that we The People took back our rights and our country from these liberals that think they know how to run our lives better than we do. We don’t need Big Brother telling us what to do, we just need to kick his butt and tell him to get lost.

I just want to know how maney air craft were hi-jacked during that time period??
May be we could save some money by just leaving them un pluged and just leting people think they are being screend.

  • mac

Let me put it another way: The airports were safe in spite of TSA charades. TSA has accomplished virtually nothing but annoying the flying public, eating up huge amounts of taxpayer money – not all of it in taxes of course. TSA has confiscated millions of inconsequential trivia items that never was a threat to the public, yet no actual hijacking or bombing threats have been prevented by overt acts caught by TSA.
