Many over-the-counter medications can increase your chances for liver or kidney damage, including pain relievers like ibuprofen and acetaminophen.
The American Liver Foundation recommends you should take no more than 3 grams of acetaminophen per day. That’s equal to six extra-strength tablets.
But to avoid this risk altogether try natural pain relief remedies such as massage, acupuncture or yoga. Vitamins D and B12 can help, as can willow bark, magnesium and capsaicin cream.
