The War On Stomach Acid

The War On Stomach Acid

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is what Americans think of as acid indigestion. What a misnomer! The pharmaceuticals love it because it provides for a trillion-dollar worldwide market for antacids. There are thousands of antacids under as many names.

“Acid indigestion” is very painful, and people are easily attracted to what they believe is the quick relief of antacids. Sad! Because antacids and proton pump inhibitors (the purple pill) block the first major step in digestion.

We are created with hydrochloric acid and pepsin in our stomachs to digest our food and provide nutrition to our bodies. Hydrochloric acid and pepsin are the basis of nutrition and health.

Stomach pH is very acidic, as low as pH 1 to 2, whereas the rest of the human body is about 7.3 or slightly alkaline.

“Acid indigestion” is caused, not by too much acid, but by a lack or shortage of hydrochloric acid — something the marketers of antacids will never tell you.

There is a whole new world of relief from “acid indigestion” with something as simple as having lemon juice with meals. Give it one to two days. And, yes, I cured my own acid indigestion with a teaspoon of sea salt in a glass of water for a few days. My son did the same.

Of course, your friendly cardiologist will blow a gasket when he hears this, but he loves his ignorance.

Millions upon millions live a life of discomfort when they are so close to relief. If we kill our stomach acid with antacids, we will ultimately wind up with stomach cancer. The medical community is mostly ignorant of this.

To learn more about hydrochloric acid, read the books Acid and Alkaline by Herman Aihara, Alkalize or Die by Dr. Theodore A. Baroody and Three Years of HCl Therapy.

The book, Three Years of HCl Therapy is no longer in print. It currently sells on Amazon.com for as much as $51. It contains documented cases of HCl therapy success stories in treating diseases and conditions like diabetes, pneumonia, malaria, meningitis, toxemia and many others.

We currently have a limited number of these books, and you can have a copy for free by clicking here.

There are many reasons for acid reflux and some cases are much worse than others. I have a hernia that gives me a lot of difficulty and was told that most people in the world have this problem but are unaware of it, they just think it is too much acid. My problem was caused by a stupid child when I was 11 years old. This boy was trying to get attention and suddenly jabbed his finger into my upper stomach area and it took the breath out of me. That was the beginning. I never told my parents because being a child myself I had no idea that there could be a serious problem from the whole thing. There was and still is. I did a lot of heavy lifting of things around the house growing up and when I got married I started having babies and that made the situation much , much worse. I began to not only have a problem with acid reflux but I started noticing that with some meals I couldn’t get through the entire meal without my food backing up into my throat and would eventually have to excuse myself to go in the bathroom and bring up what wasn’t going down. Then I discovered that tis happened when I was drinking a cold drink with the meal. If I drank a hot or warm drink I didn’t have the problem. I gave up cold drinks with my meals. My father-in-law had the same problem and he always dranl a glass of very cold water with his meal. I told him what I had discovered and he also quit drinking a cold drink with his meals and sure enough his problem went away too, until that is he decided it couldn’t be that simple, so he drank a glass of cold water with his dinner one evening and everything was back just like always. He never did that again. My grandmother had the same problem except with her it was eating a dish of ice cream before she went to bed. She woke up and almost made it to the bathroom when she passed out. After some tests the doctor confirmed that she did indead have a hernia and told her that very cold foods and beverages cause the esophegus to stop contracting and then the food or drink just sits there and doesn’t go into the stomach or if it does it doesn’t exit the stomach like it should. Acid is pumped into the stomach and then is forced up into the esophegus where we experience the acid reflux. Be very careful of eating in the evening before bed and do not consume iced cold drinks before and durring eating a meal and it will be a big help. As for me at my age and with the other problems I have it has been advised to me not to try to go through the surgery so I drink a couple diet sodas each day to keep the acid under control. Works for me ! Very rarely do I have to resort to an ant-acid tablet ! Remember to tryhot drinks with your meals or when you eat food. Even fast food ! Save the cold drinks for drinking alone to cool off !
