The Spread Of Violence

The Spread Of Violence
UPI
Syrian protesters burn a portrait of President Bashar Assad.

Four years ago, Barack Obama convinced millions of Americans that he would unite the country and the world. He has failed. Inside America, as well as around the world, there is a huge divide between what people want and what they have. In places like the Mideast and Africa, it is a bloody divide. The question many people want answered is: Will violence come to America? It seems possible given global events, terrible leadership and a wrecked economy.

Many people expected more from Obama, the son of Christian and Muslim parents. Barack Obama Sr. was a Luo from Nyang’oma Kogelo, Nyanza Province, Kenya. With African heritage and an Ivy League education, this President may understand the world and hope that he could reduce the ongoing tribal wars in Africa and, more recently, in the Mideast. But more than three years after Obama took office, violence in large tracts of the world has reached pandemic proportions.

Why Every Liberal Should Visit Africa

As a teenager, I had liberal ideals. My father, who had traveled often to Africa and the Mideast, told me that I could not speak intelligently on those regions and their peoples until I had been there. I got my opportunity in 1990 when I spent one month traveling through South Africa with my uncle.

When we arrived in April, apartheid was on the verge of collapsing. Nelson Mandela was about to be released from prison, and many people in the country were bracing for a civil war. The situation had become so dire that the 747 on which we flew to Cape Town was almost empty. (On the way back to London, every seat was taken.)

I took the trip because my father’s subscribers had much of their money invested in South African gold mining stocks. If those companies were nationalized, many of the newsletter’s subscribers stood to lose a lifetime of profits. It was a trip I had to take.

Because of a world boycott, the South African government and businesses were desperate for anyone to report on what they thought was positive change. Doors were thrown open to us that would have been under lock and key five years earlier.

Our first meeting was with South Africa’s ambassador to the United Nations. Another meeting was with one of the richest men in South Africa. His penthouse office looked out over Cape Town.

During our visit, there was a fear that persisted throughout the country. A few weeks before our arrival, savage fighting had erupted between Nelson Mandela’s African National Congress supporters and the rival Zulu-based Inkatha Freedom Party, led by Chief Mangosuthu G. Buthelezi. It started when thousands of Zulus were forced out of their homes in ANC-loyal areas of the province of Natal.

History records that 1990 had the bloodiest clashes in modern South African history. I witnessed some of it in the streets of Johannesburg and in the gold mines where warring tribesmen fought.

The Darkness Is Spreading

Violence is as old as humanity in Africa. Joseph Conrad understood that when he wrote Heart of Darkness in 1899.

In that novella Conrad wrote: “He (Kurtz) declared he would shoot me unless I gave him the ivory and then cleared out of the country, because he could do so, and had a fancy for it, and there was nothing on earth to prevent him killing whom he jolly well pleased.”

To see how little Africa changed during the 20th century you only have to read the book (also made into a movie) The Bang-Bang Club: Snapshots from a Hidden War. It is the true story of four photojournalists who covered the violence in South Africa from 1990 to 1994. It was during this period that the country transitioned away from apartheid. It explains the fighting between ANC and IFP supporters.

That was the South Africa that I saw, and it was a story the Western media weren’t telling.

The Spread of Violence

Two decades later, major media groups are doing little to cover the violence that has spilled into North Africa — most notably in Libya and Egypt. And with the falling of one dictator after another, it appears that the Mideast is settling in for a long period of bloodshed.

The violence in Syria has left more than 12,000 dead since March 2011, while tens of thousands of people are homeless. Two weeks ago, in the town of Houla more than 100 people were killed. The United Nations says government forces went house to house and slaughtered men, women and 49 children.

This violence has happened during Obama’s watch as the leader of the free world. So far, he has provided no leadership and no solutions as to how America can stop mass murder. Will Obama slow down this violence? If he cannot, social discourse will spread further out of Africa and beyond the borders of the Mideast.

We have already seen rioting in Europe and even in a couple of North American cities. To date, public outrage is relatively mild; but it won’t remain that way unless the economy starts to grow.

That is the prediction of Wall Street insider Charles Ortel, who warned earlier this year that a worsening economic picture across the globe will see civil unrest hit the streets of America, not on behalf of leftist Occupy Wall Street groups, but by an armed “irascible and vocal Majority.”

Ortel, a managing partner with Newport Value Partners, LLC in New York City, predicted that a crisis in the financial markets will precipitate “a widespread civil insurrection and cross-border war.”

Ortel believes Americans’ access to firearms will cause riots to be bloodier than anything seen in Europe.

Out Of Africa

I remember how happy I was sitting on that plane when it lifted off the runway and I knew that the start of my 45-hour return journey had begun. Today, I don’t like the thought that violence may have followed me halfway around the world. And just as I took precautions during my trip to not do anything stupid (like leave the hotel at night), I also believe it is essential to take precautions at home while we still have the chance.

It is a sucker’s bet to think that the President or the Federal government will protect us and the ones we love. It is up to us to take the steps we must take to protect ourselves.

Yours in good times and bad,

“Ortel believes Americans’ access to firearms will cause riots to be bloodier than anything seen in Europe.”

Ortel must be one of those who thinks only the elite should have access to firearms. In the REAL world the American access to firearms will cause riots to be calmer and cause much less destruction than in Europe. I offer as evidence the riots after Rodney King trial. Places where the Americans USED their access to firearms were spared. The rioters moved on to take their violence to areas where Americans were disarmed by their own foolish belief that their government would protect them individually.

And since (most) liberals are too lazy to look it up for themselves here is a link to backup my assertion of evidence. http://survivaldisasterplan.com/shelter-defense-part-1

      Second day (Thursday, April 30)

Although the day began relatively quietly, by mid-morning on the second day violence appeared widespread and unchecked as heavy looting and fires were witnessed across Los Angeles County. The Korean American community, seeing the police force’s abandonment of Koreatown, organized armed security teams composed of store owners, who defended their livelihoods from assault by the mobs. Open gun battles were televised as Korean shopkeepers exchanged gunfire with armed looters.[31]

Vicki, thank you for that link. I just read the article about the Korean population keeping their businesses safe. I am usually pretty knowledgable about curret events, but I missed this entirely. Very happy to see something on the positive side of gun ownership instead of hearing about people wanting to take our guns away such as Clinton and the UN small arms treaty.

It’s so disappointing to see Libertarians saying we should stay out of other nations conflicts and then advocate for involvement in Syria. That Obama or the American government has to get us involved with another foreign crises. Since Syria is an ally of Russia and armed by Russia there is more to this double speak than meets the eye. The screws are being tightened against Syria by Europe and the US and diplomacy has to be played out.The same ones who sought war with Iran are now clamoring for war with Syria. Ask what Ron Paul would do and the answer will be found.

      • DaveH

The Leaders want us to be disarmed, Not for our own safety, but for Their safety. Imagine how it will be if they disarm us? Already, they treat our ownership of our own money contemptuously. What will it be like when they have no more fear of retaliation?

      • brett

started by an acquittal of a shopkeeper killing a couple of kids.

Oh and I didn’t bother to ask eddie for a cite cause, like Obama’s birth certificate, he doesn’t have one.

      • eddie47d

Read the article Jeff,Dave and Vickie. The author is a Libertarian and asking why Obama won’t intervene in Syria. Think you all can put the puzzle together or do I have to draw you a picture?

        • truesoy

          eddie47d;

What’s that; a libertarian wanting to intervene in the affairs of another country?

    • Harold Olsen

A good example was the owner of the Korean grocery store who stood on his roof and shot at rioters who tried to loot his store. They backed away real quick. The media tried to vilify him.

      • Paul Wells

Absolutely true. The lamestream press in this country always sides with those with nothing to contribute except violence and mayhem, and vilify anyone who will stand up for themselves. I remember those riots clearly, and anyone else who does remembers that the police WOULD NOT ENTER the areas where the rioting and looting were most severe! That should serve good warning to anyone who thinks the government will protect them in a massive civil disobedience situation. We are at a crossroads in this nation. Those who have played by the rules, worked hard, and built up something for themselves are targets for the have nots, did nots, and will nots. This president has set up a class warfare ideology that is just inexcusable. ABO in 2012!!!

      • DaveH

A friend and former co-worker was starting to cross a street in Hawthorne (near LA), and the light had just turned, so he decided to wait for the next one. Just then he heard shots and bullets hitting the nearby metal building so he took cover. Three of the people crossing the street were randomly gunned down by thugs in a passing car. All because Rodney King had been beaten by police. Some people are just itching for excuses to kill people which is exactly why we have a natural right to protect ourselves and also a Constitutional right which no Government can legally take away. But that won’t stop them from trying.

    • Tom Cook

Vicki, hopefully a point you make will turn relevant: liberals are cowards and hoplophobes, so they will be unable to protect themselves from the savage hordes if rioting occurs, therefore their ranks will thin; the rest of us will thin the ranks of the savage hordes. As Borat says, “Great Success!”

Vicki, I don’t think most people want to address this subject of violence but as John Myers points out violence has been something that has always plagued mankind. Maybe we don’t want our thoughts about this subject to be prophetic or maybe too many don’t believe it can happen to them.

I remember the riots back in the 1960′s and even then that violence never spilled over into our city so it just represented a distant problem for most people. That didn’t mean that the racial tensions of the day didn’t have an impact on most people. It did on me and I got to experience some of this tension first hand.

I think we’ll see a “mix” of violence as it’ll vary from one place to another depending on who’s armed an who’s not as pointed out in your link. Many of those who protest or riot are cowards finding strength in the crowd but will back down and go somewhere else when faced with their own mortality.

I noticed one thing in the link that I’m sure those who posted it had to promote: the lock and key attitude our government takes toward gun ownership. I took a self defense course and the instructor pointed out that an unloaded and locked away firearm does no good when confronted with sudden violence. I know we need to keep our children safe but in my opinion the best way to keep them safe from your firearms is to familiarize them with them. I kept my firearms out of infant reach but the moment I thought they could understand I started to familiarize them with firearms. I took my children out and taught them how to use them and showed them what a firearm could do and I never had a problem with one of them messing with my firearms. Maybe I was just lucky?

The One-Size-Fits-All Government that we’ve acquired is responsible for the pent-up anger. With Government whipsawing us between the Military State and the Welfare State, about half of the people are pissed at any one time, with the pissed half depending on which group is getting the goodies at any one period of time. If we had Real Freedom like that which Libertarians advocate (Real Libertarians like Mises.org presents), everybody would be responsible for their own welfare so there would be no ability to blame their plight on anybody but themselves, thus greatly alleviating the tendency for anger and violence.
Also, morality would be restored. There would be no Theft in the name of Government, and there would be no Killing in the name of Government, except in self-defense.
It’s time to become something other than a Society of Criminals under the auspices of Big Government:

DaveH, thank you for the link. I haven’t yet checked out Ludwig von Mises but I’ve bookmarked the page and I’ll be doing some study. I noticed this man was mentioned in the film “Thrive” that I watched earlier. This film is interesting and brings up a lot of controversial subject matter about energy, UFO’s and finances that many might find interesting. http://www.thrivemovement.com/

I don’t know what to think about this movie or organization yet but many of their ideas may parallel Ludwig von Mises’ ideas?

        • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

DaveH, the subject of who’s behind what is so obscured behind what most view to be party politics that they can’t see the truth. Well…. I think I see the truth and it different from those who play the party politics game. I believe there is a conspiracy by a group of elites in the west that want to dominate the world and who just might succeed on a certain level for a short time. They use party politics to distract the masses from what they are really up to.

I don’t believe that being violently aggressive is the answer and violence may just be what the elite want their opponents to turn to? I do believe that an active kind of resistance is necessary. I don’t believe I’d let them implant one of those RFD chips in me at least not voluntarily. I see the elimination of the IRS, and Federal Reserve system as being necessary for the survival of this nation.

I also feel that the Senate needs to be taken back out of the hands of the democratic crowd. Senators need to be elected the way the used to be elected. The system was set up the way it was for good reason: it kept the Senate from being vulnerable to the mob the same way the House of Representatives is and originally made the Senate responsible to the states themselves. It’s interesting that the change in Senate elections came at the same time as the income tax amendment. Was this just a coincidence? I believe it was Team Law that claims the 16th and 17th amendments weren’t properly ratified? I do agree that the 17th amendment, even if properly ratified, is not constitutional.

      • MAP

As Clint Eastwood illustrated in his movie, Grand Torino, our insane immigration policies are greatly responsible for the rising violence. People from Third World countries are brought into this country by the millions, in such numbers that there is absolutely no pretense to have them assimilate. These people have no connection with European culture and have little reason to learn. They isolate themselves in communities where they continue the culture of their former country. The tensions between these culturally diverse communities often leads to violence and outright war, like in Grand Torino. Study the crime statistics for these Third Worlders. It is appalling. This is just another Leftist disaster and is named ‘multiculturalism’. The sleaze-bag, Ted Kennedy, began this nightmare of anarchy with his so-called Immigration ‘Reform’ back in the 60′s. It should have been named ‘New Demos Voter Plan’. Our immigration policies are insane and the rates of violence will only increase till we adopt a more sane policy.

        • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Map, I watched that movie “Gran Torino” several times. I liked it. I have a slightly different view of it than you do but your point about immigrants not assimilating seems to be true. I feel though that people will generally tend to seek places where they feel more at home with.

This is what I believe that immigrants should do:

          Learn our culture
          Learn our language
Or go back to where they came from.
If they want to be violent the can go back to where they came from.
It’s ok if they want to live in a neighborhood that reflects their culture where they can speak their native tongue, eat their native cuisine, practice their faith and dress in their native clothing. That’s part of being free.

      • Deerinwater

“As Clint Eastwood illustrated in his movie, Grand Torino, our insane immigration policies are greatly responsible for the rising violence. People from Third World countries are brought into this country by the millions, in such numbers that there is absolutely no pretense to have them assimilate.”

Is that really the message that you got out of Grand Torino? Then you missed the message entirely. I’m so, so sorry ~

It was about an old warrior that was so full of doing his manly patriotic duty and warrior pride that he ignored his only child, not giving what all good fathers should give, ~ “themselves” .

When that child grew up, the son treated his aging father in kind, not having time for him.

In his aging, bitter, loneliness, lacking of any interpersonal relationships save for his drinking buddies down at the VA Hall, the old man focused turned his community of mixed race and nationality where he befriend a young Asian boy and became close to his family “IN SPITE” of his bias toward Asians and his war experiences in the Pacific islands.

It was a story about an “old man” that “overcame his racial bias” and stood tall once again for what he believed in, willing to pay the ultimate price for people he once hated.

That is what Clint Eastwood was attempting to get across, ~ Geee ~immy crickets !

No you weren’t just lucky. You were smart. I keep my sidearm and my wolfkiller loaded Always have I also have six children. I did the same thing and it works well and easily. The key is to show em what a weapon can do. My father showed me a gunshot cadaver in the local morgue. I used deer and elk I shoot every year to educate them as well as drilling into their head this truth “sorry can’t take a bullet back and can’t stop whatever you shoot from dying so don’t touch it unless I am here showing you how to handle it”

        • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Sandy Daniels, I believe that getting our children acquainted with firearms takes the “mystery” out of them so I let them shoot them. They understood the same basic things I used to teach to the boy scouts about firearm safety. It’s not a complicated merit badge to earn. Some of the most important things that you teach them: Firearms are always loaded, you can’t call the bullet back into the barrel once the trigger has been squeezed, and don’t point the muzzle of your firearm at anything you don’t intend to shoot. There are other important things but I always started off teaching these things and never missed an opportunity to reinforce them.

That and his guilt about having blown the face off of a young Korean soldier who was trying to surrender – which then resulted in him being awarded the Medal of Honor.

      • DaveH

I saw a show one time where the Liberals were trying to demonstrate why it was best to teach kids that if they see a gun they should not touch it but report to an adult. They had a room full of various things, one of which was a semi-auto on a table (unloaded of course). They sent the kids one by one into the room and observed with hidden cameras. A black kid (no, I’m not biased, just reporting the facts) spotted the gun, dropped the clip, cleared the chamber, and stuffed the gun in his pants. Now there’s a kid who knows gun safety. That’s how it should be. But we need to work on the theft part, lol.

        • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

DaveH, whoever taught that kid did a great job. That gun? What gun, I didn’t see a gun did you? lol. I don’t know what you feel about guns and how to store them but for me it drives me crazy to hear all of the things that seem to be required: the firearm needs to be unloaded with trigger lock installed and the firearm needs to be stored in locked cabinet with ammo stored in a separate locked cabinet. What good is a firearm that you can’t get to in a hurry in the event that you suddenly need it; like when your home is broken into?

I was taught: that the firearm needed to be someplace near you and loaded but it didn’t necessarily need one in the chamber. That you don’t leave where you are to find the intruder just stay put and let them find you. Often just hearing a round being chambered is enough to change someones mind. I prefer a shotgun for protection in the home: it’s less likely that anything will penetrate a flimsy sheetrock wall and injure someone you love while it makes it unnecessary to be the best shot in the world.

          • T i m

If it is a gun or base ball bat pointed at you , YOU ARE DEAD BY THE TIME YOU GET THE TRIGGER LOCK OFF.

          • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Tim, you are right on target. A person would be dead along with his family before he could get all of the necessary ingredients together…that is unless you could talk the intruder into waiting. That’s not going to happen is it?

Maybe the real agenda behind all of these insane safety precautions are so that people will die before they can get their firearm loaded so the progressives would be able to say, “see, guns don’t save people.” .

violence begets violence. i fear more the hand of man than the word of god.

        • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

brett, violence does beget violence. Have you ever had to face someone who was irate? I’m sure you have. I learned that if you lower the tone of your voice below the level of the person you’re facing that they’ll usually come down to your level. This often works but not always. There will just be some people who want to hurt you, but thankfully not most. Love is the best answer. I was also taught the “discretion is the better part of valor”. This was what I was told that meant: talk your way out of a fight or walk your way out of a fight.

Having said that, I don’t believe that I could sit back and just love someone who was getting ready to harm one of my family members. I believe that it would be wrong to not do anything. I think that a person has the responsibility to protect their family even if it means that they have to be violent to do it.

Yes it does. And if someone comes and tries to be violent on me or my children I will demonstrate.

        • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Vicki, we were given the instinct to protect ourselves and our children for a reason. Good people need to make sure their offspring survive to do good things in the world. I will protect myself and my own. If I didn’t have a family to protect I could do what ever I felt was appropriate including being passive and letting someone do with me as they will. We have families and our responsibilities to them. Be well and prosper Vicki.

      • Steven

You were not lucky. You used the good sense God gave you to educate your children. The NRA has a program for children that teaches gun safety called Eddie Eagle gun safety. It works very, very well.

        • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Steven, I was taught that all accidents are avoidable but that not all accidents will be avoided. I agree that the best way to eliminate accidents is through education. There are too many out there that believe we can protect our children from 100% of all accidents by eliminating the object in the accident; in this case the firearm. But, even if true, that won’t guarantee that nothing will happen that isn’t an accident.

I believe that there are people out there that have an agenda to disarm us to make it easier to control us and they use people who lack wisdom and experience to get legislation enacted to do just that.

    • JeffH

Thank you Vicki…you beat me to the punch on this quote: “Ortel believes Americans’ access to firearms will cause riots to be bloodier than anything seen in Europe.

I agree with you and I’m sure a large majority of firearm owners do to along with a few that don’t own any fireaems. I never bought a gun for purley “defensive” purposes because I am a sportsman first and an admirer of quality firearms. But, I have always been aware that I am able to legally protect myself and my property if ever the need did arise.

If only the really ignorant could understand the reality of criminal thought, guns don’t kill people, criminals(people)kill people. To be able to defend oneself and one property from a criminal is a major deterrent of becoming a victim.

Deerinwater- you had me confused when I read the first part of your Gran Torino comment. I thought you’d gone daft. but I soon realized you were quoting someone who didn’t get it. I saw the movie and your observations a spot on. It showed that when people interact one on one without outside forces interfering it is possible to put differences aside and focus on what we have in common. It showed even an old hardass bigot cna change under the right circumstances.

  • revnowwhilewecan

Definitely agree Vicki. Let’s hope Americans can hold on to the ever shrinking 2nd amendment. I think it’s pretty well known that when there’s a fair fight, there is no fight. Thanks for the links.

If it’s a fair fight, blacks won’t fight. They only fight when they think they have the advantage. Last week, I was assaulted by a black guy while I was dialing my cell phone. He caught me while I wasn’t looking. But when I recovered myself and kept my eye on him, he kept his distance, but kept bad mouthing me. Each time I moved toward him, he backed away. His assault on me was unprovoked.

If anyone is a “coward or an animal”,it’s people like you. You know, i don’t like confrontation but to put it it bluntly, if you had to go against anyone way with the same advantages, you would run and hide under your bed. The answer to this problem is we have to work together to solve these problems. Next, will “Richie Rich” Zombie do any better than Obumda in solving these dilemmas!?! I don’t think so. Good bye!!

If blacks in America think Africa is such a paradise, they need to spend a month or two there. America blacks are treated very badly by African blacks, being resented worse than American whites. This seems to be Obama’s agenda in our country.

        Tony,
PEOPLE CAN NOT WORK TOGETHER TO SOLVE PROBLEMS WHEN EACH SIDE HAS A DIFFERENT VALUE SYSTEM. IF YOU SIT HOME EVERYDAY WAITING ON THE MAILMAN TO DELIVER A GOVERNMENT CHECK, YOU WILL NEVER GROW. SOCIAL ENTITLEMENTS HAVE CAUSED RECIPIENTS TO RESENT AND “LASH-OUT” AGAINST THOSE WHO WORK AND HAVE ACQUIRED A COMFORTABLE LIFE FOR THEMSELVES. INNER-CITY VIOLENCE IS ABOUT “TAKING WHAT IS NOT YOURS” DUE TO LAZY SELFISHNESS. PEOPLE WHO “OWN” SOMETHING SIMPLY WANT TO PROTECT IT BECAUSE THEY WORKED HARD FOR IT.

        Dear Mr.Horton:
Don’t you dare tell me about “value systems”. If the gov. would not of from the get go interferred the lives of these peoples, put of G.A. or other programs of dependency. Then, would of allowed them and even taught them to fend for themselves, our nation wouldn’t be facing these crisis. By the way, the majority of people on Gov. subsidies are not blacks, other citizens of color, or poor whites but the Huge corps. that are bleeding our econ. dry plus buying our elections. Now do better research before coming up with nonsensical responses. Thanks and so long for now!!

        To Mr. DaveH.:
Sir, if you truly read what i said, especially to Mr. Horton, you would see that i mentioned it was Gov. interference that has lead to these poor results. If all individuals would be given the liberty to assist themselves then these problems wouldn’t persist. However, our society either wants to continue a liberal policy of patronage and the rightwing types want to turn to idiotic disproven notions such as gentetics or culture. By the way peoples’,groups’, individuals’ genetics/culture are affected by their surrounding environments. In bad ones, bad behaviors evolve, in good ones, good demeanors take place. Think about that. Thanks!!

      • Carl Manning

        @Jukebox,

You are exactly correct. I had a co-worker who was a native Nigerian who emigrated to this country. He had been highly educated in Nigeria, and he was quite intelligent. He told me personally that African blacks such as himself actually do not have much respect for or much in common with American blacks. The cultures and work ethic of the two groups as he put it are miles apart.

However, when I was in Jamaica for two weeks as a contractor, I personally experienced the Jamaican culture and work ethic, and it was very much in line with American blacks.

      • DaveH

        Deer,
If you think that it started with Reagan, you haven’t been doing the recommended reading. Start with the book “The Real Lincoln”. Then read this Free book by one of the greatest thinkers of our time — Murray Rothbard:
        http://mises.org/Books/historyofmoney.pdf

There are many others that should also wake you up. I would be happy to list several that I have read if I thought you were interested in learning.

        Deer,
If you think that it started with Reagan, you haven’t been doing the recommended reading.”

I’m sorry David, I’m not at liberty to go back to the discovery of “fire” and right all wrongs. I find dealing with life’s problems inside some time frame of reference more “feasible ” Being willing to accept and understand , trying to kick starting a 1200 pound dead mule has some serious downsides and offers little in the way of certainly.

Lincoln had ” his days” problems to address with what resources he had at his disposal at that time. To second guess him a 100 years later makes anyone quit a “Monday morning” quarterback with more hindsight then few people might ever hope to enjoy.

You need to reassess your recommended reading list and be willing to accept the fact, that at the end of the day, men of position and power make decisions and it’s for mankind to make the best of it. To assume I’ve not read and studies such historical events is purely a misconception and an assumption on your part.

A man of Presidential aspirations, Yellow Hair, Son of the Morning Sun, Armstrong Custered, Commander of the 7th US Calvary make a decision one faithful day, June 25th 1886 and left behind a lot of widows and $25,000 thousand dollars cash in 2 months wages on a battlefield in dead soldiers pockets. The Sioux and Cheyenne didn’t know what these small pieces of paper with pictures on them were for. They wipe their butts with it and gave it to their children to play with. If any of us knew of our tomorrows David, things would be differently today .

Even in my own life, there has been people I’d been wiser to have killed off years ago rather then let them live and contend today with the results of their behavior.

But you can’t look at life that way DAVID.

So why not get “real” and accept the fact that we are not “gods” and quit finding someone else to blame for our problems today? We can’t dig up Lincoln or Custered and hold them accountable.

I’d like to see you to attempt to keep your banter in the ball park of reason if at all possible while I will conceded, States Rights took a beating during Lincoln’s tenure with his efforts to restore the Union. After all, it was a time of war when many liberties, both private and public were breached and amended.

It is more current affairs and events that most directly affect us today, while historical pretense might well go back 100 years. If you wish to introduce “this” pretense, please do so without counseling recommended “reading” of a 100 years old US administration.

Please narrow down your banter and say what’s on your mind.

We can’t dig up Reagan either but there is enough people alive today that remembers how America use to be, that knew and understood it’s greatness, a greatness that is no more, not since Reagan.

        • truesoy

Black violence has, I believe, increased in this country since Obama took office. For one thing, he encourages it. For another, blacks know that as long as Holder runs the so-called Justice Department, he won’t take any action against them. They have a free ride. Plus, the brain dead media, won’t report most of the black violence and when they do, they seem to always whitewash it and blame the victims. Sooner or later, people are going to say “Enough is enough!” and decide to take matters into their own hands to protect themselves from these animals.

    • Karolyn

Glad you said “I believe”, Harold.

    • Winddrinker

And, if you are attacked by a black gangbanger, and are beaten-up, YOU are the one arrested!!

Women, especially need to learn to protect themselves. I agree blacks are like animals that are “hunting.” They normally attack when they outnumber their prey, or have great advantage (like being bigger, stronger, or on drugs which makes them dangerous.)

      • moonbeam

I see the white racists are out in droves today. Very sad. Blacks are animals? WOW! And YOU are a stinking racist. Would you say something as racist as that face to face? No, you wouldn’t. You hide behind a pc screen and spew your filth. That’s what cowards do.

        • http://disqus.com/jims33 jims33

The other cowards and I tend to call a spade a spade and react accordingly, so when I see a group of black men (or Mexicans)I usually avoid them assuming there is some possible danger, as well as knowing that if I had to harm some of them I would be put in prison regardless of how it went down…

They all had one thing in common. They all rule by hatred, fear, and bigotry.Whites are no different from blacks. We got whte people that behave like animals and we need to respect all people, regardless of race, color or creed.

You have to admit though that the big city blacks do not present a very, ah, positive image of themselves as a group.

      This was written around 2010:

      By Patrick J. Buchanan

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America .. Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to. This time, the silent majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the black American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.
We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude?

Barack talks about new ‘ladders of opportunity’ for blacks. Let him go to Altoona, Johnstown , and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for ‘deserving’ white kids ? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for black Americans are seven times those of white America ? Is it really white America’s fault that illegitimacy in the black American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena . And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago. This needs to be passed around because, this is a message everyone needs to hear !

OK will you pass it on ?

YES. I did but will you?

Because I’m for a better America.

    • Paul Wells

      Karolyn,
One thing Obama can do is to quit throwing gasoline on the fire! He has consistently harped on how the rich get richer, and you poor people, you are just downtrodden and taken advantage of by the exceptionally rich. Perhaps if he would ever speak in a manner to unite rather than to divide, we wouldn’t think he was such a complete idiot and failure as a president. He’s no leader, that much is apparent. (He’d be good at organizing a union, though!).

AS CANDIDATE OBAMA HE PROMISED TO UNITE THE COUNTRY AND THE WORLD. UNFORTUNATELY HE HAS FAILED AT BOTH. HIS SPEECHES DRIVE US FURTHER APART INSTEAD OF UNITING US.

god help us if he is reelected. he will use all his power to gain more power for the PRESIDENCY and forget the CONSTITUTION.

      • eddie47d

Paul Wells comment against Obama has nothing to do with the looming civil war in Syria. Assad’s has been dictators for decades and ruled with an iron fist so why are so many now surprised at all this and who says it is our business. Apparently many of you are still entrenched with the view that we are the policemen of the world and need to fight everyone elses battles. That makes you all aligned with the NWO,the Military Industrial Complex, increased Corporatism and arms sales and most importantly more unfunded wars. That will surely bring more taxes upon you and more debt . Enjoy!

      • David in MA

obozo is doing what one must do to kill a country for takeover, read alinsky, read hitler, read mao…..turmoil, anarchy and then send in the military to quell the masses, then seize control of the country. It is written in training manuels and in world history and always ends in suffering, pain & death. THAT is what obama is all about, in my opinion.

      • eddie47d

Johnson did it in Vietnam. G Bush did it in Iraq. Reagan did it in Nicaragua. Several Presidents and advisors have set us up for further conflict and that “pain and death”. .

    • Ken

Agreed, we should focus on our own country and peoples (as Ron Paul suggested) however, “Obama” has pushed the envelope several times creating angst between blacks and whites…..and the violence exhibited towards whites from blacks continues to escalate AND go unreported in the media, while any perceived white-affronts are reported thoroughly….

    • Ted Crawford

” What can Obama, or any other US President do to stem the violence in other countries? ”
In Obamas case, nothing. You can’t give what you don’t possess and what’s wanted here is Leadership qualities.
Remember this ” Mr. Gorbachev, tear down these walls! ” ? Agree or dissagree with him that’s Leadership! Even Bush ’43 ‘, not my favorite President by a long way, was a leader. Saddly he often lead in the wrong direction, in my opinion.

      • eddie47d

Reagan had his leaderless moments in Central America where 700,000 died. He also stood tall against the Soviets and thankfully kept that friction from enveloping into a war. Bush had no long term plan for Iraq or Afghanistan which is why we are still involved and the fighting continues. Hardly a strong leader. These countries are no better of 11 years later and the violence and chaos continues from internal factions. Unless we are assured of victory and democracy established in a timely manner then it may be best to allow these countries to run their course.

    • Winddrinker

In the article he states, “Violence is as old as humanity in Africa.” That is true, and we have violent attitudes in some of our black population..sometimes, it is just “in the genes.” Behavior is passed genetically by many species.

No American President will stop the violence in countries where people have thrived on hatred for thousands of years. We might as well forget the middle eastern countries, as well. We are wasting our blood and treasure…and, for what! I haven’t heard a reason coming out of Washington to justify the death of one American in the middle east!
The thing that come to mind would be that our government keeps us tied to terrorist countries because of our “need” for oil…

WE HAVE NO NEED FOR THEIR OIL! We have more oil in this country than all of the middle eastern countrie put together…why do we pay homage to our enemies and make them fabulously wealthy? We need a president that will make this country energy independent and create thousands of good paying jobs. Our economy would boom again. Once that is accomplished, abolish the Federal Reserve. America should “own her own currency!” We do not own it now. We have a private group of the ober rich of the world that own our money, and they keep printing it faster than bho can spend it!
      Amazing isn’t it.

      • Ron

        We don’t need the oil.

        But our oil corporations do.

Real “energy security” might be to actually LEAVE some oil under American soil where it’s safe in times like this when there’s a surplus, rather than drill-baby-drilla-it all out and dump it on the world market to the highest bidder. But then, oil companies can’t make any money off of it by leaving it for Americans.

While they may wave the flag in their commercials and pledge allegiance, they are pledging allegiance, not to the United States of America, but to their multinational shareholders, who are fine if America’s reserves are completely depleted, they will have made their money anyway. ‘Nothing personal, just bid’ness.

And your gas prices will NEVER go down.
You didn’t really think the oil companies o-w-e-d you anything, did you?

So, let’s all shut up and give them all our oil. Don’t develop any alternative technologies, since that might kill their generous subsidies and slow the draining-off of America’s oil into corporate ATM’s.

If they want the opinion of Americans, the corporations will waterboard it out of us. That’s what Blackwater is for.

    • DaveH

He could do a lot, Karolyn, by setting an example for Morality, instead of the opposite. Stealing, whether done by ordinary people, or by Government people, is still just Theft. The same goes for Killing, except in self-defense, whether done by ordinary people or by Government people (think Drone killings). If suspected criminals can be apprehended by police relatively peacefully in this country, then they could be in other countries as well. The idea that it’s okay for Government to take away the rights of other countries’ citizens as if they belonged to some subclass of human beings is just plain wrong-headed. And it will eventually lead to spillover in our own country. If we can’t expect them to respect the rights of other countries’ citizens, how can we expect them to respect ours?

      • Karolyn

Good points, Dave. I just read this article yesterday that is in line with what you speak of. Even though it’s from Common Dreams, I think you will like it. Actually, that article and wht you hav been writing are opening up my eyes to more than I chose to see previously.

The reason there will be violence is because those who thought hope and change meant that even more of them would be receiving more and more food stamps and entitlements without ever trying to get a job, are not getting as much as they want, so they lie, cheat, steal, kill, rob, riot, loot for more. The so called entitlements of social security and medicare is paid into by the people the problem is, congress took control of these programs and spent the money and now has to budget for them every year, this is what turned them into entitlements. Government control and all the overhead and spending IS the reason for America’s plight.

      • http://Yahoo Maynard

We agree about Ron Paul for President, but you should know that Ron Paul is for phasing out Social Security, not eliminating it. We have paid into it all our working lives and we ARE entitled to a return. It is paid up for another twenty years but the power elite has been dipping into it.
Since the super wealthy have controlled the flow of tax dollars into their coffers through war profiteering (Viet Nam, Gulf WAR, Iraq, Afghanistan) by manufacturing not only arms but the false rationale for wars (Gulf of Tonkin, Incubator Babies, 9/11, anthrax letters, CIA creations called al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, etc), housing market manipulations (Savings & Loan Banking destruction in the ’80′s, Wall Street mortgage gambles and bailouts (2008 , 2009 under BOTH Bush and Obama), Tax burden shifted to middle class, Federal Reserve using our dollars for elite profiteering).
WE face a time when fewer and fewer own more and more of the nation’s wealth. Did they get it solely because they earned it? No, they used their control of politicians by election contributions and well-funded lobbyists who often move back and forth from government to lobbying. They have prevented the sensible move from fossil fuels which they monopolize to renewables which are widely available and cannot be withheld (the sun, wind, geothermal, hydrogen in every drop of water are all widely available).
These people and corporations in control are not Liberals or Conservatives. They are profiteers who use party labels to make us feel we have alternatives. They manipulate the public and gain support from those who are unaware of their machinations.

Wake Up! BOTH parties are robbing the people.Overwhelming bipartisan support passed NDAA 2012 to shred our Constitutional Rights and to appropriate $63 BILLION for domestic drones to intimidate, incarcerate and even kill us here at home.

P.S. FOOD STAMPS and WELFARE are a pittance compared to the amount we spend on “HOMELAND SECURITY” and UNNECESSARY WARS and MILITARY BASES around the world.)

      • http://disqus.com/jims33 jims33

Tim, thousands of people in this country are disabled or retired and all we get is our government checks. Most of us worked very hard for many years (me 40) for these befits with the PROMISE that there would be money there when we needed it. .that promise for benefits is the reason it’s called ENTITLEMENTS, because we paid in a lot of money with guaranteed benefits when needed. so you can quit throwing everyone in the welfare basket because many have paid our way, and get very little in return.

        • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

jims33, I can understand if you’re feeling angst concerning your economic welfare? Why would anybody trust a politician to tell the truth? There is no such thing as a perfectly safe investment which includes investing into a government system. All investments, whether it is claimed that they are entitlements or not, are just that: investments. The system will go broke and when it does it’ll have to find a way to eliminate or reduce benefits.

I feel that part of society’s problem stems from the feeling that we don’t have to be personally involved in each others welfare as we pay taxes or paid into a system that is supposed to alleviate the necessity for personal involvement. I feel confident that good Americans will always find a way to help those who can’t help themselves and when the system finally does break down that this is exactly what will happen. I know I wouldn’t let my father. mother, brothers or sisters go homeless or hungry as long as I had anything to help with and I’m sure that many feel the same way I do. Someone will help you make it if you can’t make it one your own.

And yes, your social security benefits are considered by the government to be a part of a welfare system.

            Tim;

I just want to touch on the “don’t depend on the government for your retirement, handle your own affairs”, vote for Ron Paul, part of your post.

            1) Social Security/Medicare came about because people could not handle their affairs as individuals, and therefore they did it as a group with ‘their’ government as the administrator of the plan.
This makes more sense than giving all your hard earned money to the CEO of xyz corp, and then waking up one day to find out that while your money went up in smoke ‘Big Joe CEO’ left the building with millions of your money. And then what do you do, start all over again? No, you won’t be able if you your ‘advance age’ don’t allow it.
I’ll tell you what you’ll do in that case, you go to the government for a ‘hand out’, oh yes you will, because you are not going to starve nor stay homeless.
This is what exactly happened in 2008 when the banks went bankrupt, except it was not the people running to the government for a ‘hand out’, it was the banks, thereby savings all that was left of your 401k plans.
Yes Tim, the ‘evil’ government came to your rescue, and/or to a family member’s retirement account. Can you imagine the fate of millions of senior citizens if, as you believe, there was no SS/Medicare?
Libertarians have stop fooling themselves and others into thinking of government as an ‘extra-terrestrial’ institution for it is not. There is a role and purpose for government, otherwise what would be the reason for society to finance it?.
Ask Ron Paul, and the likes of Ron Paul why, is government is such an ‘evil institution’, they spend so much time and money either trying to get into, and/or trying to stay in it?, you know, they spend millions on that effort, and most become millionaires by government position
They enjoy socialized medicine compliments of the taxpayers, but oppose it for everyone else
They believe the government should not be responsible forour children education while they benefited from public education (Ron Paul attended public High School).
I will like to go on, but it would be too long a post for now, if not, I would explain to you Medicare and universal health care, and so on, and on.
            Keep in touch.

            Sincerely,
            Truesoy

            Jonathon Parker;

Many of the people posting on this site have a concept of government and tis role, that if it was to be apply here we’ll make a ‘Somalia’ out of the United States. No government, little or no taxes and therefore little or no education, dirt cheap wages (unless you hook yourself a job with the pirates, and that can be dangerous), little or no infrastructures, and everyone fends for themselves.
Oh yeah, a real ‘libertarian/republican/t-party utopia.

            Katrae;

I can see you are still drinking out of the ‘wishing well’, but things don’t work exactly that way.
Entitlements are entitlements because you earned it, in other words the people that paid into SS are entitled to it, and the same goes for Medicare.
Although government investments should be safe, there is always the worry of the wrong people with the wrong ideas and/or the wrong concept about the government’s role and/or its purpose, getting elected and screwing it up for everyone.
That, I mentioned because you’ve been conditioned to believe ‘the conservative republican’ fable and fairy tales.
And no; your Social Security benefits are not part of the ‘welfare system’ as its envision by you.
And since you believe that somebody, other than the government, will help in a time of need, I want you to try that next time you go to the doctor/hospital without insurance and see what happens.
Maybe now you’ll understand why people collectively finance a government. Keep in mind that a government is a ‘tool’ of the people; and is not the people a ‘tool’ of the government as propose by conservatives for all intents and purposes.

            Sincerely,
            Truesoy

          • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

truesoy, you need a new dictionary. An entitlement is only and act of law. Notice the “title” part of entitlement? A title is a written document and so are entitlements. These are written into law, not because you worked for them but only because they’ve been promised to you by law. I know people who haven’t paid into the system enough to be “entitled” to anything but they still get them.

          • truesoy

            Katrael;

True, there are people that have not pay enough into the system, and get some of it.
Some of these people deserve it, and some don’t, obviously. Just like people that paid all their life and die, and never get to collect; but that is not different from any other insurance plan.
SS/Medicare is an ‘insurance plan’. In the case of ‘Medicare’ most people pay for 40 – 50 years of their life before they could use it at age 65 for the last 10 to 15 years of their lives.
And just like any toher insurance plan that you pay into it, you are entitle to the benefits of the plan.
I don’t know your age, but you’ll learn to appreciate it as soon as you become of age.

            Sincerely,
            Truesoy

          • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

truesoy, I’m sixty retired and have NO income and have no plans to utilize those benefits at this time. Who knows, things may change?

          • truesoy

            Katrael,

Everyone ‘hopes’ not to use those services, but that doesn’t mean one should not have a plan just in case; for if something was to happened, like a catastrophic accident and/or illness, someone will have to pay, either you or your insurance company, or the government if you have no insurance and no money.
Sometimes the problem is not that people don’t want to purchase insurance, but that they simply have no money (you say you have no money), and or they have a pre-existing condition that makes then uninsurable. This is a good reason for supporting the health care reform signed into law by President Obama, although I’ve much rather preferred an ‘universal plan’, or the ‘public option’ that offered people the choice from where to buy.
I just don’t understand why we are the only industrialized nation that don’t have a universal plan. Even Israel, a nation we admire so much and want to copy in many ways, has ‘socialized medicine’.
The silver lining in your case is that once you reach 65, if you haven’t yet, medicare will take care of your medical. This is why it is so important for people to oppose the privatization of medicare.
Let me tell you what medicare actually is:
Medicare is a ‘health insurance plan’ for which most people pay into for 40 to 50 years of their lives so that at age 65 they would have health care coverage for the next 10 to 15 of their lives. That’s it.
Medicare is unique in that unlike any other healthcare plan you are not covered the month following your approval, you have topay for years instead, and even after you are medicare eligible you will continue to pay a monthly premium deducted from your SS check.

            Sincerely,
            Truesoy

          • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

truesoy, I didn’t say I didn’t have a plan. I’ve been planning much of what I’m doing since I was 19 and it’s working for me. I can’t support something that I know will take away all freedom of choice and it seems like you’re assuming that the allopathic medical profession is the correct way to go?

The system as it exists now has to treat people who aren’t ambulatory so if a person gets into an accident that has to be carried in they have to treat them regardless of their ability to pay. Is this a good or correct thing? Yes it is. Who has to pay for it? The system does. The reasons I don’t support a totally centralized form of health care is that the central system that supports a certain treatment today may withhold that treatment in the future. In other words, the centralized system takes the power of decision out of the hands of the individual and places it in the hands of a limited bureaucracy who dictate every aspect of our health for us. One source has Obama’s plan at 2,358 pages. answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=

Another source has it this way: “The Senate version of the healthcare bill is 2074 pages and the House version is 1990.” http://www.chacha.com/question/how-many-pages-long-is-obamas-health-care-plan

I don’t know who is correct? I just know that there is no way for anyone to fully understand the monster. It sounds like every minor and major medical decision is already predetermined for us.

This isn’t health reform as much as it’s health dictatorship.

          • truesoy

            Katrael;

I understand your fears of centralized health system; and on that I know you are referring to one administered by the government.
On the other hand I have a different opinion. I believe the people would have more control over their health care if administered by the government, and not a CEO. Why is that?, because in our representative democracy the people have a ‘say’ in government policy. But, in the present insurance system, not even share holders have a voice.
However because many people feel the way you do, probably the best way to go is a ‘public option’ hereby people get to choose whether they want their government as the plan administrator, or the insurance company. This would be true freedom of choice for everyone.
A ‘public option’, and/or even a ‘universal plan’ is nothing more than ‘the people’s collective financial effort to self-insured’, much the same as many large corporations do because it sves them money and gives them more control over the plan.
And as for your fear of a centralized health system that will deny you treatment?, we already have that in our current ‘private insurance industry ‘ran’ health care system.
On paper there are untold numbers of insurance carriers, but only on paper. The reality is that most of those companies have been taken over by the bigger companies and only in name they exist. There is no more competition in the insurance industry.
CEO’s and medical boards in the insurance industy make the decisions pertaining to your health care. The doctors suggest the treatment, and the board approves, or maybe not approve. And you have no recourse.
You can’t go across the street to the other company because now, you have a ‘pre-existing medical condition’ that makes you uninsurable. Or depending on the condition, they could sell you a policy that explicitly excludes treatment for such condition and anything related and/or as a result of it.
An insurance company can cancel your medical policy for any reason deemed necessary to safeguard its profit margin; unlike an universal plan and/or public option administered by the government; eg., Medicare insurance that is always there (unles Paul Ryan gets his way).
Other people are concern about their privacy. But there is none. Any and all insurance companies have access to everyone’s medical records, and the minute you apply for insruance most companies will go into it for underwriting. A few companies wait until you file a claim to do so. The downside to that is that if they declined the claim you’ll be stock with the emergency room bill.
How do the companies access one’s medical history/records?
It is called the MIB (medical information bureau). There is stored everything from the aspirin the doctor gave you and all other treatments you may have received and/or were recommended to have done, till the day you die.
In reality it makes no sense to buy a product from a seller if the seller (insurance company) can only make money (turn a profit) if the buyer does not use the product.
Tell me, would you use UPS and/or Fedex services if they could only make money on packages not delivered?

            Sincerely,
            Truesoy

truesoy, I don’t believe I used the word fear when it comes to the government and the healthcare issue. If I did I shouldn’t have because I don’t fear this government. I just don’t trust it. This governments trend is toward more and more regulation and those regulations don’t always concern only registered businesses.

Out of curiosity I decided to find out how many laws were passed in one year and there were over 6000 different items that had been passed dealing with many things including a frivolous resolution to make a day of recognition for some Jewish guy. But, lets just say that the Senate and House passed only one hundred new laws for the year then 100 the next and so on. Those are all new laws added to the mountain of old ones. Some old laws get repealed, but most laws remain in effect.

Then you add to that new State laws and this whole mess becomes unmanageable except for what they want to enforce when they want to enforce them. None of these laws grant freedom to anybody they only restrict our freedom.

Truesoy, imagine that your freedom is represented by the house and yard you live in. Each new law that is added is like adding another fence to the already existing fence. Eventually you will have no room in the yard to move in for all of the fences. One day you find there is no more yard at all and now they are adding fences inside the house. Eventually there is no room to move in the house either. What do you do? That’s the way I see this system becoming. Be well and prosper.

          • truesoy

            Katrael;
I see your point. Too many laws could be troublesome. But what does that have to do with health care reform that guarantees acces to health care for all?

truesoy, don’t be obtuse. Do you really believe that it’s necessary to have 1000, 1100, 1200 or 2000 pages of legislation to grant everyone access to health care? I can do it in seven words: “I grant everyone free access to healthcare.” One page one sentence and not even one real paragraph. Simple to understand and enforce. What’s hidden in a document that is over 1000 pages long couched in terms that require an NWO dictionary? I hope that it’s only you that has to live with this monster because I don’t want it. Truesoy, be well and prosper.

truesoy, as far as needing medical assistance? Even if there weren’t laws that require hospitals to treat people in emergencies I know my family would help and so would the good people in my community. That’s what good people do: they help each other…that is those who deserve to be help and not just the ones who are dead beats.

          • truesoy

            Katrael;

So you really buy the idea your neighbor, and or family will mortgage their home, empty their bank account, cash in their annuity, and all to pay for your $250,000.00 hospital/medical bill? oh yes, a medical condition could cost that and much, much more. And then what about your long term care and rehab, who is going to pay after you left everyone in your family destitute?
…and what then when they eed to pay for their medical care, or a child’s?. Yes Katrael, I want to hear rom you on that one.
But after all is done and said, you won’t go that route because, 1) you wouldn’t want to financially ruin your family, and 2) they won’t.
But I’m sure you suspect that at a minimum, and if you don’t, then, you are either NAIVE, very naive, and/or very STUPID. And that is the truth.
….:*** and, if after a major medical condition you try to buy insurance, you’ll be DECLINED, for you now have a ‘pre-existing medical condition’. ****(at least until Obama’s health careform becomes effective and thenno insurance company will be allow to decline you)***

I agree with many statements you make but there are many in trouble because of medical and many loose their homes because of no help. I am a vet with 100% so I get medical and because the va is allowed to negotiate for medicines they get a much lower price as theBush family does not make a kick back. ( many others do as well ) The people who wish to live in past until they are affected are against help. I am no longer a christian but the early case of socialism is in Paul’s writings about the people putting all together and waiting for Christ to return. It failed then and now as does capitalism as we practice it. We need something better but I am not smart enough to know what.

          • truesoy

            Ivan Boatwright;

            You do prove my point.
You enjoy ‘socialized’ medicine by virtue of being a 100% disable vet, although that could be of little consolation depending on the nature of your disability; but it doesn’t take away from the fact that medical care at 100% is available to you.
Your only drawback would be if you don’t have tricare because then you’ll be limited only to the VA, not because you would want to change provider, but because it gives you other options if you so need.
Conservatives have been condition to an aversion about anything ‘government’. They should understand this is not North Korea, this is the U.S., and we have a representative democracy, and that government has a role and a purpose, other than defense.

truesoy, you’re so right about that $250,000.00. We don’t need Obama care as we already have that covered. Most states offer insurance to those who can’t get it privately. I’m not worried about it. I might do what one of my family members did. they just cashed out.

Emme, I am a 76 year old white southern male who wanted change from what the last Republican administration was doing to “my” country. There were two wars I didn’t agree with for various reasons, my “savings” were in jeopardy and my fellow citizens were losing their jobs at the rate 2.1 million a year. So when it came time to cast my ONE VOTE and speak my mind, I voted for change, Since then, one war is stopped with the dying and the cost, the other Should be dying at a faster rate than promised. The job loss rate is down from 600,000 a month, the jobs gained in the private sector are up beyond the rate created by the prior administration. That is just part of the change that has taken place since I cast my ONE VOTE for change ALONG WITH 69 MILLION other Americans!
For the life of me, I cannot see enough difference between what bush promised in policy in 2000 and 2004 and what Romney is promising in policy in 2012 to change my vote! We know where the bush policy lead us! Dr.Paul, evenwith his good points, is still not a winner on the national scene! If you want “back to bush” vote “back to bush”!! My guess is that 95+% of the people here ,you included, didn’t vote for Obama in 2008 so he will lose no votes here! He never had any here SO there are 96 million somewhere! Obama may not win in 2012 but the worst thing the more conservatives might do is “win” with Romney and have to face 2016! One more bush-lite Republican adminstration failure might just be the death knell of that party and their influence on the Supreme Court!! If I didn’t have children and grandchildren that would have to face that future I would be tempted to wish for the failure! Like the ‘Ruin the economy if we have to” Repugnuts!!

NC, you’re doing the typical Liberal thing of choosing your statistical time periods to make your arguments appear valid.
Anybody who wants to see the truth can go here, check the top box “Total Non-farm Employment”, and then the “retrieve data” button at the bottom.
You will see that the number of jobs actually increased quite a bit during the Bush administration, and then declined to a number still higher than when he took office, and basically the opposite for Obama:
        http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/surveymost?ce
That certainly doesn’t absolve Bush, but the explanation is way over NC’s head. Because it is just the typical Boom/Bust cycle that is created by the Federal Reserve and Government Meddling in the Marketplace. And that is the case for both Political parties. The only difference is that the Democrats have mostly different Crony Capitalists to enrich at our expense than the Republicans do. Some Crony Capitalists play both sides.

Obama wants to destroy this country. AND HE KNOWS the only way he can do it is by dividing it, so that is his intent. It wants to divide it so much that he will be able to call martial law and become permanent dictator. Then he and Soros will rule. Obama just thinks he will rule but he is a puppet for Soros. And if he does not do as Soros says he too will be gone.

    • eddie47d

It could also be said that every Conservative should visit Africa and see how their policies of exploitation changed the face of that continent. How they took the wealth and carted it back to Europe leaving the locals poorer than they were to begin with. Most Africans were hunters and gatherers and some farming. Colonialism only gave a few opportunity and the rest became DEPENDANT on their colonial “benefactors” (their new government). Self reliance for the natives became a thing of the past.

By this so-called president’s stand on illegal aliens and his dismissal of any proof of citizenship to vote, he is stating that future elections will be conducted with voter fraud counted as legitimate and fair practice. Is this not unprecedented in our history? Sure, voter fraud has always been present. In fact, I believe voter fraud placed this scoundrel in the WH to begin with. But has it ever been declared to be a legitimate part of the voting process, to be done in the open and accepted as normal? Isn’t this like saying that lying, cheating, and stealing are legitimate and honorable acts? The Obamanation has set a new low water mark for our morality as a people. Unless people rise up, we can only go further downhill from here. And I’m sure the Obamanation would be more than happy to take us.

  • cawmun cents

    Am I missing something here?
In case you werent aware,America has been a battleground for decades now.
Roving gropus of teens to adults are living and preying upon the folks in their communities.
    They call themselves gangs.
They murder each other and people not affiliated with them at quite a pace.
    Will violence come to America?
Its already here pal.Tribal warfare at its finest.ith some really “educated by marxist:” folks driving the bus.
Stone tossing and garbage can spilling aside, the college crowd doesnt really know violence here. They are too busy protesting about losing their entitlements. It is the same in the crowds you see that are driven by leftists, which you see on the newscast. They dont have many instances of people mowing them down with machineguns yet to go by.

The violent are here waiting for that day when TSHTF.Biding their time they wait to take action. The average citizen has no real hope because they have become islands to themselves in our modern society.Gone are the days of community militia. How can you fight alongside someone you hardly know,if you are facing folks who have shared a criminal past so deep that it defies all logic?
    Thats a tough question.
But most Americans dont realize that if that type of violence occurs, they may be in store for some quick lessons in humility.Band together to have a more viable protective environment folks.Get to know your neighbor better. That is sound advise no matter who you are or where you live. All are responsible for making their environment a safe and secure one.
If you rely on gubment, you WILL be disappointed.
Have a plan and make a stand.Dont let the criminal element control your environment,or you will suffer greatly. It doesnt matter if it comes from street thugs or gubment.
Its YOUR life that is affected,so make sure you are prepared to do what is necessary to keep your livelihood intact.Ignore the media/academia and their obvious allegiance to progressivism and do what is best to protect what is yours,
You can be damn sure that the gubment wont.
    Cheers!
    -CC.

    • Steve E

      Well said cawmun cents

      • http://Yahoo Maynard

Sorry Cawmun, but contemporary gangs in the US have nothing to do with Marxist ideology or any other political philosophy. They have existed for generations and originally manifested as different ethnic groups banding together to defend themselves against each other. There were Jewish, Irish and even Italian gangs in large cities like NY and Chicago. As these groups were supplanted in the inner cities, black and Hispanic gangs came to predominate. The money making aspects originally centered around alcohol, gambling, prostitution and theft but now are primarily from illegal drugs and illegal gun sales. Fights to control turf have led to extensive violence and have carried over into prisons. To live in a gang’s stronghold is very difficult for young people who do not want to be affiliated or who join and then want to leave. It can be a death sentence.

Because unemployment is rampant in the inner cities, the only ways to make”Big” money involve illegal activities such as drug sales. The cocaine epidemic, in the form of crack, took place according to Michael Ruppert, formerly of the LA Police Dept., because of CIA importations turned over to local police for distribution. Drug addiction, of course, leads to much additional crime, because addictions cause individuals to do whatever they can to stave off the effects of withdrawals. While Clinton was governor of Arkansas there are many who claim that cocaine was trafficked in to remote air strips. This was reportedly done through federal and state collusion. The profits were used to fund the Contras in their violent attempts to take over the Nicaraguan,s elected government.

You need to stop thinking in the old patterns because, as I repeatedly claim, the government is controlled not by Liberals and Conservatives, but different cliques cooperating with the military-industrial-financial power brokers for their continued enrichment and increase in power. BOTH political parties have banded together to use the fears of the public as a tool to take away our Constitutional rights, including the right to bear arms, the right to due process, the right to assembly and free speech.
As long as we look at each other as the enemy rather than at the selfish power brokers, we are easy to control. So all of you who rant against Progressives, Liberals, Democrats, Conservatives, Republicans or Fascists are doing the power structure a big favor. First and Foremost, we must concern ourselves with preserving our Constitutional rights, not with worrying about the government being too rightist or leftist. It won’t matter when we have no more freedoms.

No man wants to be enslaved by another man or nation and that includes South Africa. Apartheid was terribly wrong and so was American slavery. The British and the Dutch were the Elites of South Africa and the local populace were always held back and treated like they had no business in their own country. Foreign powers choose to have absolute authority over South African natives and that created the division that regulated those citizens to 3rd world status.

Obama was a boy in Indonesia in the time of the violent overthrow of Sukarno by Suharto. His family on both sides appear to have CIA connections. The CIA have used violence and assassinations here and abroad whenever they feel it is advantageous. Obama shows no hesitation to use drone attacks which kill indiscriminately. He also claims the right to assassinate US citizens without due process. This is the incipient development of a full-blown Police State. Congress just appropriated (by an overwhelming majority) $63 BILLION for development of domestic drones to intimidate, incarcerate and/or assassinate.
      BOTH political parties are complicit.
9/11 was an inside job as were the anthrax letters.(How else do you explain the White House insiders SECRETLY starting risky anti- anthrax antibiotics THREE WEEKS BEFORE the first known threat?????? )
The Oklahoma City bombings were not by a single truck bomb. The interior structural damage was too extensive for that truck bomb outside to have done it all. Furthermore, other unexploded bombs were clearly observed (onlookers and rescuers were repeatedly rushed away because bomb squads were removing additional unexploded devices). This was reported by the local news (just as in 9/11 when firefighters and others reported additional bombs going off) but soon were “hushed up” by the FEDS.
The “terrorist” bombings were used to get legislation passed to start the process of encroachment on our civil rights, just as 9/11 (“Homeland” Security) and NDAA 2012 have continued.
There is ample evidence the ’93 WTC bombing, which killed 6 and cost billions in property damage was foisted on the “terrorists” by the FBI who were secretly recorded supplying real explosives. Look it up. The Egyptian intermediary between the FBI and the “terrorists” is named Salem .It was reported in the MEDIA but people were not paying attention.
Thank goodness the Internet gives us access to the original reporting. Don’t count on that going on much longer. The government is trying to think of ways to cut it off.

THE PRESIDENT’S INEFFECTIVENESS IS DUE TO RACE. VIOLENCE IN AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST MEANS LITTLE TO PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES WHO ARE FINANCIALLY SUFFERING. WHEN I SEE THE PRESIDENT ON TELEVISION, HE IS DISCUSSING ONE OF THREE ISSUES – WAR/TERRORISM, FOREIGN POLICY AND TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF HEALTH-CARE REFORM. THE PRESIDENT IS OUT-OF-TOUCH WITH THE NEGRO COMMUNITY. NEGROES WANTED THE ILLINOIS SENATOR TO WIN IN 2008 SO HE COULD HELP “black” AMERICA. HE HAS DONE A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y NOTHING FOR “black” AMERICA. THE PRESIDENT TAKES THE NEGRO COMMUNITY FOR GRANTED BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE HAS ITS UNFAILING SUPPORT, DUE TO HIS SKIN-COLOR. THE PRESIDENT HAS SOLE FOCUS ON CONCERNS OF CAUCASIAN DEMOCRATS. FOR PROOF, REVIEW HIS STATEMENT ON SUPPORT OF “gay” MARRIAGE – WHICH WAS AIMED DIRECTLY AT CAUCASIAN DEMOCRATS. HE K-N-O-W-S CAUCASIAN DEMOCRATS ARE HIS “BACKBONE.” WITHOUT THEM, HE KNOWS HE WILL NOT BE RE-ELECTED. MY POINT IS, THE PRESIDENT HAS A “WISHY-WASHY” ADMINISTRATION BECAUSE HE IS TRYING TO MAKE CAUCASIAN DEMOCRATS HAPPY BY TELLING THEM WHAT HE THINKS THEY WANT TO HEAR. IT IS THE D-U-T-Y OF REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS TO KEEP THE PRESIDENT “IN-CHECK.” THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA HAS MADE HISTORY BY ELECTING A “COLORED” PRESIDENT. Karolyn, I would advise you to read your Bible. Everything is explained there. There is more wisdom to be found there than in all other writings, in all of history combined. Of course you doubt this. You are a liberal. Know that the Bible doesn’t create nor condone bad men. Sin does.

      • Karolyn

I don’t believe the Bible mentions the word “Christian”, does it? You are missing my point. And, yes, I have read some of the Bible. It’s a good book with many lessons. However, my interpretation of a lot of things tends to differ from yours.

        • http://disqus.com/jims33 jims33

It’s thought that the leaders of the early church new that people were calling them Christians but didn’t promote the use of the name themselves. One more thing, the original languages of the bible didn’t necessarily translate to all the English words we use so a single word not showing up in today’s bibles doesn’t mean much. The word “rapture doesn’t appear but linguists will tell you that the Greek work rapturo is there….jf…

Big men apologize for their mistakes and the damage they have inflicted on others. Small minded men find new ways to bully an adversary and drag others into their squabbles. We’ve had too many Presidents in the White House who are no more than gang leaders enticing the world to join their cause. If they don’t they will be castigated to irreverence on the world scene. Germany and Japan were prime examples of world bullies and we became the hero. Now we are little different than what they would have done and have become the aggressor.

The media is a corporation(s), and really causing the problems. Obviously the early Americans didn’t realize this would happen or they wouldn’t have given them all this power.

Henry Ford, the original, has a union buster named Harry Bennett. Bennett was an equivalent Al Capone. No one knows how many people Bennett killed and maimed.

Anti-union are just LEECHES. Notice that none of them want to give up a 40 hour week, a pension, a vacation, sick leave, safety in the work place, etc.etc. Right-to-work=stealing all the benefits gotten from the unions (without paying for them).

There would not have been any unions if the company owners hadn’t screwed the workers so badly, in so many ways.

Here in Washington state, many of the people don’t know that Oregon is a bordering state.

Bush WAS IN OFFICE, Mr. Jackson AND Mr. Sharpton WERE ON TELEVISION EVERY DAY, COMPLAINING. THEREFORE, CONGRESSIONAL REPUBLICANS ARE THE ONLY ONES IN A POSITION TO CHALLENGE THIS PRESIDENT’S POLICIES.

Violence will come to America if the prayers of all the people here on Personal Liberty.com are answered. The fervent supplication for the destruction of this country by so many angry and heavily armed people will surely not be ignored by the Almighty.

God gets his marching orders from President Cheney, Lord Limbaugh, and Lady Ann, after all, and I’m sure they are willing to turn this place into scorched earth and kill all the hostages if it means the Corporatocracy that bankrolls y’all can hand Obama his Waterloo. You are busily calling for the lynching of every last American in the Republican Party who was capable of compromise, and interested helping America survive the greatest global economic collapse in decades.

You reminded everyone at the end of the Cheney Administration that this recovery was going to take awhile–maybe a decade, so don’t get alarmed and let’s “pull together as patriotic Americans”, etc.

–and then “The Kenyan” was elected…and you turned shrill and rage-filled INSTANTLY and you abandoned your own policies every time Obama tried to meet you halfway and adopt them. You have behaved toward the President of the United States–elected by a majority of the American people–in a manner of constant attack and disrespect that you would NEVER tolerate if black journalists and politicians spoke to a white President in the same manner–You’d have been gunned-up and thugged out in the streets within the first year…calling for “order and respect for decency”.

As the election approaches, your attacks and threats and CommuNaziHomoSocialistNig-Akenyan Conspiracy theories reach new shrill and fervent heights as you whip people up into a frenzy of rage–knowing it only takes one itchy trigger-finger on one blunt-dumb angry reader (“keep your powder dry!!!” is the constant call on here) to ignite the Helter Skelter that you ache for.

Of course, once it’s started, your ruling class will step back and wring your hands on Fox News and swear you didn’t have anything to do with it–it’s just all a plot by the America-hating unarmed liberals and moderates to destroy this country through violence. “Why do they hate America so???”, you’ll say.

You are swiftboating Republicans out of the Party of Lincoln with a purge that would make Stalin blush, and have created a party that wouldn’t allow Barry Goldwater, Dwight Eisenhower, Theodore Roosevelt, or Abraham Lincoln to be members–and yet you STILL call it the “Party of Lincoln” –even while someone asserts at least once a week on here that Lincoln was a traitor who got what was coming to him.

    Just be honest for once.

Admit you are the R.I.N.O.s. And then change the name of the party you’ve hijacked to, I dunno, say, “The Confederacy Party”–because you’ve resurrected, plank-by-plank, the platform of an institution that hundreds of thousands of Americans died defeating in 1865.

And like the Beerhall Putsch and the Reichstag Fire, you and your corporate backers are hoping to cash in on the chaos you create and engineer the conversion of America from a secular, liberal, compromising, messy democracy of all the people (including the swarthy races, gay people, atheists, etc.) into a white-hot pure, goose-steppingly loyal, religious zealot “Christian” Taliban oligarchy, which minds its manners and protects the well-heeled plantation-owners.

You will purge and bully all who disagree with you, all the while howling that you are the victims, then spend the last of your money and bombs going to war with a world which, strangely, thinks your values are pretty twisted. (Rich people: Don’t sweat this part; you guys are tax exempt anyway, so the “dead-enders”–the rest of the American people–will pick up the tab for your little bloodfest. When it gets too unpleasant, you can start offshoring yourself any time that’s convenient for you, sirs.)

After all, Hitler didn’t wake up every day and say: “I think I’ll be a war criminal today.”

He was simply a humble, bullet-headed, angry, poor misunderstood patriot who detested education and sought to save the righteous, patriotic, “Real Germans” from the mongrel-race, international Jewish book-reading liberal conspiracy that spanned all time and sought to murder good little Aryan children in their beds.

And, he simply applied the “Bush Doctrine” of pre-emptive war, defending Germany from enemies real and imagined–by shoving 9 million or so of his enemies into ovens before they could get around to all the murderous plots that he constantly accused them of.

So, yes. I think you will get all the violence you fearhate for every day on this site.

You will make Charlie Manson proud.

That period of history, the rein of the Black Republicans from Lincoln through Reconstruction, is so full of horror most people are unaware. It is incredible that this country went through a period of such theft, injustice, fraud, and crime, perpetrated by the Federal Governent. Many of our problems today, especially the race problems, are a direct result of that period. It was a period of greed unparalleled in our country’s history.

      • Ron

Re: “The reign of horror by black Republicans…” That mostly came to pass because the Confederacy decided to take with the bullet what they lost with the ballot. • http://wildeyguns.com Wildey

Absolutely violence will come America. It’s alreay started. America is in this process, thesis, ant-thesis, synthesis.
Thesis: It was born on the Constitution and is/was stable
Anti-thesis: That thesis is being challenged with an aim for change by godless socialist
Synthesis: A new theory of government is coming to America, one that lovers of the God fearing Constitutional Republic detest.
Obama is in between anti-thesis and synthesis, more on the anti-thesis side. His long term vision is for a communist form of government. They’re peaceful but so are prisons. He’s offering peace, the peace you see in sheep and cattle pens. He wants you to be a piece of capital, a productive thing, producing for him. He’s moving in that direction. In cunning ways the people are being divided between those that are enlightened and those who are ignorant of his plans. It isn’t just Obama. He has a legion of clones working toward the same end.

Did you ever read Suh Tzu’s “The Art of War”? He teachs you must “Know your enemy” if you ever hope to win the war. A short summary is on the net. MacArthur lost less Soldiers in the entire pacific war than the Marines lost in just Iwo Jima using Sun Tzu’s principles. We’re at war, a war for our minds. Another book to consider is “On Killing” by Lt. Col. David Grossman. The book of Jeremiah states people are servants, it only depends on who they serve, Satan or Christ. As I read I find that people are reacting instead of questioning and reasoning before they act. Reagan said: “Trust, then verify”. I hate to say it but in DC everyones got be considered guilty until they prove themselves innocent.

  • Robert Bradfield

Hi, its that South African again,
When I read the article my first reaction was: “How does that help anyone?” Everyone knows by now that we have a black majority government and this government are socialist, we are getting a general health care system, whether we can afford it or not. We have a social grant system, paying a subsidy for elderly people and children. There is still the problem of talking about the nationalization of the mining sector and added to that the banking sector.

So what happens at the moment:
    1) Teenagers have children to get the child welfare payments;
    2) Free hospitalization is misused because many people feel entitled to stay in hospitals without paying;
    3) Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) caused many white experts to be either unemployed or have left the country to find opportunities elsewhere;
    4) Munisipal services have taken a nose dive, we see more people on the streets destroying buildings and other infrastructure because it seems that nobody hears their complaints;
    5) Corruption is rife;
    6) Nepotism is a generally acceptable employment practise;
    7) Rape is one of the growing activities;
    8) Murder of farmers, which have to produce food for the nation, is a big problem;
    9) Although our police force is claiming that the number of murders is down we still loose +/- 20000 people;
    10) Unemployment rate is 40+%; and
    11) There is no end in sight.

The irony is that despite everything above I still love this country and want to have it work. I pray that you will never have to quote statistics like these in the US, but as many stated above you worry about that happening the scariest is that it will happen if nothing is done to prevent this.

    • DaveH

I was a combat marine and did more killing than necessary because I believed they were all evil sub human communist. I have seen the results of torture and men going crazy from the strain of war. People are all the same in wants and needs but environment and christian jewish, and moslems all have this need to kill for their god. A waste of life and no future for anyone. Shell oil paid taxes to the VC while we fought them. Halliburton made millions and cared only for profit. The republican party has degenerated into angry children wanting more toys to prove their manhood at the expense of the common man, Greed rules and stupidity is the goal all strive to achieve. I am now an agnostic and while in Nam faced certain death but refused to turn to any god and felt he,she or it could rot in hell with me. Now you can sit there and oil your gun and count your shinny bullets and think about all the things that’s wrong in this country and you want to make right.

The best thing you can do for your country with that gun in your hand today is to chamber a round and clean your ear with it. Your days of pain, anguish and suffering will stop. You enter a new phase of life and find your “just” rewards.

THE PROBLEM IS YOUNG PEOPLE AND EDUCATION. THE SHIFT FROM LIBERAL ARTS TO SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HAS A DEVASTATING IMPACT ON THIS COUNTRY’S LONGEVITY. INTERNET, ELECTRONIC GAMES, ETC., HAVE CREATED A GLOBAL MINDSET FOR YOUNG PEOPLE BY PROVIDING “QUICK ACCESS.” [We need the old library-card catalog!]. THE UNITED STATES’ JEALOUSY OF SOUTHEAST ASIA’S TECHNOLOGICAL PROWESS IS TO BLAME. THIS JEALOUSY IS THE REASON FOR FOCUS ON SCIENCE/TECHNOLOGY IN SCHOOLS – STANDARDIZED EXIT EXAMS, GRE, ETC. A LIBERAL-ARTS EDUCATION CREATES AN APPRECIATION FOR A PEOPLE’S CULTURAL HERITAGE. WHEN YOU CARE ABOUT CULTURE – YOU CARE ABOUT C-O-U-N-T-R-Y. THE FOUNDING FATHERS OF THE UNITED STATES ARE LIKE FAIRY-TALE CHARACTERS TO YOUNG PEOPLE. HOW CAN THE UNITED STATES SURVIVE WHEN Snoop Doggy Dogg AND Madonna HAVE REPLACED George Washington AND Thomas Jefferson?

    CHRISTOPHER ALLEN HORTON

    • Karolyn

Currently, the US lacks enough graduates in science and technology for the jobs available. There are too many in liberal arts. You have it wrong.

      • CHRISTOPHER ALLEN HORTON

        “Karolyn,”

I DISAGREE. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU HEARD COLLEGE-BOUND STUDENTS [OF ALL RACES] SAY, “I am going to be an ‘Anthropology Major’?” WE ALL KNOW THOSE ALARM CLOCKS WITH, “Made in Taiwan,” WERE MANUFACTURED BY CHILDREN WORKING IN “SWEAT SHOPS.” THE UNITED STATES IS JEALOUS OF “Oriental” CHILDREN’S PROWESS IN SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS.

        CHRISTOPHER ALLEN HORTON

    • 45caliber

      Christopher and Karolyn:

You are both only looking at part of the problem.

The liberal arts programs do very little except allow someone to pretend to talk intelligently at a party. And, Karolyn, we have plenty of graduates in science and math. For instance, engineers – there are twice as many graduated as there are jobs available. There are about 400,000 to 450,000 a year who graduate from college – and they have to compete for 150,000 to 200,000 jobs. So why bring in foreign engineers? Because they will work more cheaply. Scientists, etc. are the same. The ONLY field where we don’t graduate enough people is medicine – and that’s because the government controls the number of doctors allowed to graduate each year in the US.

The reason our education is declining is not because we don’t have the people or the qualified students – it is because there is too much emphasis on other things. It is more important to teach the kids to be enviornmentally minded than it is to teach them math and other basic skills (as was once done). It is more important to teach them sex education than it is to teach them to manage a home (as was once done). It is more important to give them good grades (to maintaint their self esteeme) than it is to insure they actually get good grades by learning something.

      • Karolyn

Some good points, 45. However, i did hear in a recent radio interview that there is a shortage of engineers. I distinctly remember that because I had to tell my friend whose son is studying to be an engineer.erything I have heard points to there being a lack of qualifie4d candidates for those technical type jobs, especially with the baby boomers retiring.

      • DaveH
      • 45caliber

        Karolyn:

I know what they say – but I’m an engineer myself. The ones to talk to are the job recruiters. The media gets their figures from the government who get theirs from the universities. The universities ALWAYS say there is a need for engineers so they can fill their seats. But after forty plus years of being an engineer, I’ve NEVER seen a graduating class find jobs for more than half their number. The rest get jobs at places like McDonalds. So ignore what the media, etc. says. Also, engineering is NOT the Mecca of getting rich, despite what they also tell you. It can provide a good living but that’s about all unless you can invent something you can easily sell. And today that is almost impossible. The government won’t let you sell the items yourself and the large companies will only pay a hundred thousand or so for your idea – even if they intend to sell it for millions.

Since when do we hold the President of the US responsible for violence in Africa… ???? This article appeals to the worst elements of the Conservative/Republican party. Obama has been dealing with a Congress who are obstructing his every move. The conservative agenda promotes racism, fear and a mean spirited approach to dealing with those folks who are not caucasian. The world is changing and conservatives should just embrace the inevitable…FOUR more years for Obama!!!!

    • 45caliber

      Con:

So Oblama is having to deal with a Congress who block his every move. Riiight! And I have this bridge for sale …

Actually, he’s gotten more out of Congress than any previous President. So why hasn’t he solved more problems than any previous President? In fact, under Reid and Pelousy, they gave him everything he wanted, sight unseen. No questions or even guesses.

So how about using some other argument? Such as the fact that Oblama is simply not smart enough for the job?

  • Gabriel

    Mr. Myers,

How interesting is your subject. This is for all the so-called scholars of you.

Mr. Obama cannot unite America! – nor can anyone else! No President has the magic to erase racism in this country or the world after so long a journey in it. This is being caused by The Son of Man-Who is now present in America! Caucasian people don’t even want to admit that the 460 odd years that the Black man has been soldiering in this country that racism has twinkled out. The Caucasian people had 6k years to do his work; now that time has expired and his time on our planet is all but done. I will however share a portion of mercy from the spirit of the righteous community on how America can extend it’s time and possibly avoid further chastisement. It is nothing that anyone can do as you have seen from your” best scholars”. The problem that has to be addressed and the only way out is to address the problem of the Black man here in America! The ONLY and BEST solution is total separation of the two, Black and White. This is the only way out for America; so says The God of the Black man who is making himself known now by the total collapse of America the great! Otherwise Never to return! If you are interested in avoiding this inevitability you can help me to bring it about.

    Gabriel

    • Mimi

      Gabriel,
It is a horrid day to read the invective you wrote. It shows too clearly, that black racism has become dangerously and hatefully strong. You should instead read the words of Thomas Sowell, Walter E. Williams, C. Mason Weaver, and Ben Carson among others. These black men, are intelligent and articulate role models. They give a perspective that many black people desperately need to understand. Having a divided nation is not an answer to the problem of intolerance. Working together, not against each other, we will find a way. Your way leads to blood shed. And not thinking critically, only following a party line will lead to the disaster we are facing. I hope you find enlightenment.

      • Gabriel

        Mimi,

you are looking at the hate that your hate produced! Nothing can frustrate the will of the God who has made himself known to the black man and woman here in America! He desires separation between the 2. I write this way because I am enlightened. I spoke of an out for America but naturally as it is written……You won’t take it. The bloodshed that you speak of will be caused by a God that comes to kill!

      • Vicki

        Gabriel says:
        ———————————
        Mimi,

you are looking at the hate that your hate produced!
        ——————————————————————–

It is unlikely that Mimi hates so she could not have produced the hate you express. Perhaps you need to look within. Start with this.
“Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”

        —————————————————————–
Nothing can frustrate the will of the God who has made himself known to the black man and woman here in America! He desires separation between the 2.
        —————————————————————–

Perhaps your god is a false god. Or a lessor one. The God of the Christian people desires ALL of his children to live in harmony together, not separated.

        —————————————————————-
I write this way because I am enlightened. I spoke of an out for America but naturally as it is written……You won’t take it. The bloodshed that you speak of will be caused by a God that comes to kill!
        —————————————————————

The God of the Christian people is first and foremost a loving God and would not wish to come or go anywhere to kill people. We are however tasked with the duty to protect the gift of life and free will given to us by God and should a lessor god come to kill then he/she will have to face his creator to explain why he did not take care of that gift given to him by his creator.

A sign of the times: A town of 50,000 plus in Connecticut. Car dealers put out of business by the Obama administration. Dealers who had been in business for many years, trying to survive. But not the preferred supporters of this administration. Businesses going under. So now we have empty storefronts. For sale signs all through Ct. People fleeing to other, less greedy states. For the first time in a long time, rusty cars are being driven, because people haven’t got the money for new, or repairs. Taxes have been raised on everything, including gas. Certain big chains, have had to close locations, like KFC. Medicare is already rationing services. We are living in a depression, and many people don’t even realize it. Oppressive regulations are killing private enterprise. Now we hear the EPA is spying on farmers!! The Democrats coined the term “Culture of Corruption” against Bush. This is called transference. Cronyism is the key of this administration. Divisiveness from Obama and wife, Holder, Jarrett, et al. The good news: They’ve wakened the sleeping tiger, the more aware American citizens, who see that these people are killing the U.S. Constitution. Wisconsin is only the beginning. Obama must go! And the liberal Democrats who want to ravage the private sector, must also go.

gabriel, i totally agree with your comments. the main problem we have is a segment of the people who actually are determined to intermingle the two races. their object is a gray nation and everyone will skip down the freeway singing “kumbayah” and smoking pot. they fail to see the black man has other feelings and intentions. the blacks are as more racist than the whites, they are held captive by a white society who intend on the blacks turning white, at least in their heart. if i was black and patronized by white people like we see on the news and tv shows, hate would fill my heart.

the multi cultured society bred by the bolsheviks and other bleeding heart liberals is in the process of destroying the u.s. they have destroyed our education system, they have destroyed people thru affirmative action and welfare. they are decimating the christian values of this nation and they have done it with organazations such as the aclu and southern poverty law center.

last week the los angeles times presented a news article from israel, they are having a problem with black african illegals, such as our problem with the mexican illegals, they have set up detention camps, they will not offer these people welfare of any kind, they will allow a certain amount to work as field labor, there children can go to school, however, they will not furnish them lunch, medical or any kind of welfare. they will not allow these people to immigrate, they feel by allowing them in and helping them they will be over run by black africans. do you see a correlation here to our problems at the border..

farrakhan is leader of the nation of islam and his goal is to set up a black nation and for all his kooky ideas i do believe he has merit in that goal. i wonder if he intends to bring the likes of barry soetoro into his new country.
the muslims are gathering power and the time will come when their religion demands sharia law to be installed and the nation of islam is part of this movement. the problem is who will rule who the arabs or the blacks, something like the middle east.huh.

i believe tjhis will be a major problem in the years ahead and they are coming quickly.

    • Gabriel

Chuck, if Farrahkhans ideas are kookie then you won’t have to worry. But if this Son of Man’s voice is prophetic then you should worry; because you would have turned from divine guidance. Don’t worry about who will run it- It will be all mighty God!

Pamela, Youve got facts a little twisted. Obama and the godless socialist ruling America have no intention of working with China. China is a communist country and communist economics tells us they want to take control of at least 10% of our economy to be able to thake over the country. China is America’s largest creditor now. This isn’t like it was in the cold war days. America has changed colors and it wants to rule the world to. This is difficult for America because bad economics has left America chapter 7 bankrupt. Russia and China are teamed up against Bush Sr.’s “New World Order”. “I saw the enemy and the enemy is us”. The world isn’t out to get the American people, the American peoples government is. Think of a magician. He’s got you looking at one hand while the others doing the tricks. All eyes on the District of Criminals.

        Wildey:

Answer this for me: If America (and I’m assuming you are talking about the government we have, not the American people since I don’t know of any who fits your description) wants to “rule the world” why aren’t we doing it? Why aren’t we doing exactly as Rome or many other ancient empires (even the British) and simply take over everything? Why are we bothering to attempt to set up governments as we have in Iraq and Afghanistan and instead simply appoint a governor and start issuing orders? If we want their raw materials, why don’t we have those instead of allowing them to sell to whomever they wish? Why are we allowing them to pass their own laws? Why didn’t we take over Europe at the end of WWII? Why did we build Japan back up instead of forcing them to serve us?

I think you should reconsider the American’s need to “rule the world”.

1313, didn’t Martin Luther say something to the effect that the He would rather be governed by a competent Turk (Muslim) than an incompetent Christian. That makes sense! No one is more intelligent just because of their religion! There have been some really brilliant non-Christians in the history of the world since the birth of Christ! Even smarter than bush and his MBA!

        nc:

I dont’ want to be government by anyone except myself. If I HAVE to be government by someone, then I want them to have the goal of giving me and everyone else as much personal freedom as possible. The Muslims don’t want to do that and neither do most of those in Washington, regardless of religious affiliation. Just because there are some good and intelligent Muslims doesn’t mean that I would willingly submit to the power of those in power now – which aren’t the good and intelligent ones.

    • http://wildeyguns.com Wildey

Man you know how to twist the truth. Read Romans 2: 28&29, Revelations 2:9 and 3:9 peferably in a King James bible. The Muslims didn’t exist when Paul and John did their writing. Those verses refer to people who call themselves but deny Christ. The Pharisees were the geatest offenders. Interestingly enough, the Pharisees at the time of Christ were looking for a savior of their real estate and denied Christ became to save souls, not real estate. The Zionist have the same mission as Pharisees, take over Judea and Samaria, the west bank. Read 1 Kings 11&12 you’ll know who the Jews are and who the house is, the lost tribes. Quit bashing the Muslims. Some of us can see right thru your propaganda.

      • 45caliber

        Wildey:

One thing you have overlooked. The Arabs in that area and the Jews are basically one and the same. Where do you believe the “lost tribes” went when they became lost? They even have the same biological disease that no others can catch. So why do you think that the Muslims there are okay but the Jews aren’t? Why do you believe the Jews have a goal of ownership of everything and the Muslims don’t – even while the Muslims say they intend to own everything?

        • http://disqus.com/jims33 jims33

Many different opinions on what became of the eleven tribes (house of Joseph was actually two separate groups) Most of the opinions don’t include them becoming Muslims as the religion of hate didn’t come along till a few hundred years later. Some people have picked out a verse in the NT about a couple from the tribe of Asher and claim it means that the tribes never left the North part of the land. Which is about as dumb as what you said…jf…

Just out of curiosity what is stopping you from gathering all of “your” people and heading off South of the border or East to Africa? That way you can be separate from whomever you please.

Or is there a hidden agenda like you want to take over some land that the current residents might object to? How about this. Gather all of your wealth and go buy an island or a city. Move there. Have fun.

Just remember that if the land is within the US you MUST abide by the supreme law of the land. The US Constitution. That means a few things like you must provide a Republican form of government to all of your people. See the US Constitution for other limitations on your governmental power. I presume you will be setting up some type of government.

Oh and Honor killings violate several elements of the Constitution. (Think “due process” for one.)

They tell stories that at first were passed from father to sons for generations, before they were written.
And just like anything else, as time passes by the stories gets distorted. But the purpose was to convey the power of God.
The Christian book and the Muslim book have been used as a tool for man to gain wealth and power; and it has for centuries served as the tool by which a few have gained/exercise control and power over the many.

If you check you will find that Sanskrit which was a lost language contains most of the stories later copied by the bible. Many books contain the same stories before the bible was written by moses. ( first 5 books) Fact and fantasy have a tendency to mix. If you have doubt check the changes to american history as different people modify it to be what they want. Franklin and many others did not believe in god and wanted freedom of religion so they would be left alone. ( check Franklins history in france with cults) Truth is what you wish to believe and for me it is my belief that I am alone and responsible to my beliefs.

          • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Ivan Boatwright, I don’t have dates or anything concrete in the way of evidence right now but, I believe that while many cultures had similar stories that they were not copied? As far as Hebrew is concerned there are several different eras to choose from. There is a form of Hebrew that predates modern Babylonian Hebrew that I refer to as Paleo-Hebrew. We know the forms of the letters and there are the same number of them but we aren’t sure how to pronounce them. The first five books of the of the Old Testament, as so many call it, were most likely written in Paleo-Hebrew just after the children of Israel left Egypt (Mitsrayim). We don’t know how far back this form of written language goes but the word Hebrew is a reference a descendant of Shem’s who was an ancestor of Abraham’s and his name was Eber. Before the written language there were stories past down orally. I don’t believe that any culture copied anyone elses story.

…about Mr. Myers, his views and beliefs come as no surprise to me, nor should to anyone else who reads his version of events and the reason why.
The concept of rationalization to justify his foregone conclusion is a unique conservative virtue. This is exactly why we should take with ‘a grain of salt’ any statement they make, be it written, and/or verbally.
They have no one but themselves for their lack of credibility.
The infighting in South Africa among the different political factions came as an aftermath of their independence from “apartheid”. This happens in most societies when drastic political and social changes occur.
We, in the United States experienced similar ‘hiccups’ right after the war of Independence. We also had Fries Rebellion (house tax rebellion), and the Whiskey Rebellion. And last but not least is our bloody Civil War.
Mr. Myers view of things to happen here are not so far-fetched when considering the ‘right’s’ propensity to threats of violence and division when things don’t go their way; or have we forgotten their actions during townhall meetings, or the implied threat of violence even from a few republicans in Congress?
I’m curious about Mr. Myers opinion to the recently published newsletter from the Republican Party in Green County, Virginia; calling for “armed revolution” if Obama is re-elected?.
This is the hypocrisy of the conservatives/republican/ right two standards. In one they are the self-appointed defenders of the Constitution, and on the other is ‘the hell’ with the Constitution if things don’t go their way.
Again, I can only assume that conservatives are the way they are because they believe in things they don’t understand and therefore they have to ‘morph’ the facts to fit their facts.
    Will they ever get it?

    Sincerely,
    Truesoy

    • 45caliber

      truesoy:

The conservatives rationalize (thnik logically) because they attempt to follow the evidence from one point to the next to determine what will happen. It doesn’t always work but it works far better than the liberal’s attempt to start with a conclusion and work backwards to explain why the conclusion should be reached. As John Myers and others here pointed out, South Africa was a stable and prosperous country prior to this time and it certainly isn’t today. The liberal goal (conclusion) is that everyone live in peace and prosperity with each other simply isn’t happening – and according to all evidence from similar things in the past, it won’t. It will only get worse and more people will be killed until most likely only one group ruled by a single tyrant remains. So why does the liberals support it?

      • truesoy

        45caliber;

Yes, South Africa was a ‘peaceful and prosperous’ country, but it was for the white majority that benefit from the blacks property and their labor. Therefore I can only assume that blacks in South Africa’ were blessed by apartheid, right? is that what you are driving at?
Many of the ills in present day societies there is due to the european’s meddling in their lands and taking possession and control of a people just because they could.
Mr. Mandela could easily have decided to name himself president for life, but didn’t. Instead he served his time and stepped out at the end of his terms, much like Washington in the U.S. did. It is hope that it will eventually work out as well for South Africa.
Remember that in our beginning there were a lot of problems, rebellions against the government for whatever reasons, and then we also had a bloody, bloody civil war.
        Just food for thought!.

        Sincerely,

Within three years in office, the draft-dodger Presidents had us torturing prisoners as official policy, sending troops into combat without proper equipment or body armor (no rich people risked getting killed after all) and spending $4 trillion on a “war to nowhere”, and bankrupting the country. And there were many supporters for them on sites like this cheering them on to do it!

truesoy SAYS: ‘The infighting in South Africa among the different political factions came as an aftermath of their independence from “apartheid”. This happens in most societies when drastic political and social changes occur.’

apparently you like a lot of people don’t undertand the word aparthied. the word was used by the liberal media as a tool to overthrow the so. african gov. the communist and the mandellas used the word in conjunction with racism and discrimination. the word means simply “apart from” the brittish seperated the warring tribes to keep them from killing each other.

the blacks invaded so africa such as the illegals are doing here and then with communist agitation demanded the country to be turned over to them. with the help of the bolsheviks in the u.s. and africa they dismantled rhodesIa (zimbabwe) and so. africa. all you have to do is take a look at both these countries today, both are torn by violence and courruption, both are now unable to support themselves, before the communist takeover they were self sustaining prosperous nations.

if barry soetoro is reelected this country will be turned upside down much like so africa and then you may see trouble you couldn’t imagine.
it’s not the conservatives, look no farther than your liberal party (bolsheviks) they are the ones that promoted this nightmare in washington, they lied and covered up for this guy and now he’s ripping us apart. the white people have no where to move, so now, you have a cornered animal that will fight, “that is part of them” the liberal faction will extend the olive branch and get their heads lopped off, they will be the first to die..

    • Karolyn

chuck – What do you mean “The Blacks invaded So. Africa?” It is THEIR country.

      • 45caliber

        Karolyn:

It was also the home of many of the whites there – many of whom’s families had been there for about three hundred years. And many of those blacks were attacking other blacks who’s home was ALSO there. Even today there is a lot of black on black violence as the African National Congress members attempt to exterminate the Zulus (who are not allowed weapons). So if you are going to insist that the blacks had a right to fight here – which blacks are you talking about?

      • Karolyn

45 – I’m just questioning chuck’s wording. It’s impossible to say that Blacks “invaded” South Africa. They were there first.

      • chuckb

karolyn, so africa was not a settled country when the whites first landed there, the only blacks were a few nomadic tribes, most of the cape town area was unsettled until the whites came. they built the country into a prosperous nation, they never enslaved the blacks, some of the liberal reference sites on the internet use the term slaves, but, that is plain liberal bs. aparthied had nothing to do with racism other than keeping black tribes apart and stop them from killing. each other.
the white society there didn’t integrate with the blacks and the races were separated. the blacks from no africa immigrated into the area until there were so many they couldn’t survive, then the communist who had their eye on the country agitated the blacks and the afican national congress, headed by communist and mandella who was a cold blooded murder and his wife minnie even more so. they invented the ring of fire, any of the opposition caught would end up with a tire soaked in gasoline placed around their body and burned to death. the liberals and the left wing media made mandella a hero, the term aparthied was used by the press as a racist word which it was not., to influence the bleeding hearts in the u.s. to turn agaimnst the white so. african government. at the same time destroying a wealthy prosperous nation, now more like detroit.

      • 45caliber

        Karolyn:

The problem is that – yes – blacks were there first. However, the blacks who came in to take over were NOT there first – they were trying to take over and exterminate the blacks who were indeed there first. Further, how many years does it take before someone else has a right to be there? Fifty? Two hundred? Three hundred? Five hundred? Never?

If never, then no blacks should be in North or South America. They should all be sent home. Nether should any whites be here. And really, none of the existing Indians should be here. After all, they invaded and killed off the previous owners here.

And if you intermarry with those here, do you stay or leave? After all, I’m quarter Indian.

Personally, I feel that if you were born there – legally -, you have as much right to be there as anyone else born there – legally. And if you weren’t born there (as many of Mandella’s followers weren’t) they don’t belong there regardless of the color of their skin. And if you aren’t born there legally, then you should leave with those who are there illegally.

      • eddie47d

I see Chuck has a new interpretation of Apartheid and yes the Zulu were “owners” long before any white man stepped foot on that territory. If Mandela is a murderer to you for fighting suppression then that would make George Washington a murderer also.

      • Ron

And don’t forget: Southern plantation owners were America’s first “Job Creators”! Trafficking in human beings was the Confederacy’s biggest part of their GDP.

      • 45caliber

        eddie:

Where do you get the idea that Mandela is fighting FOR the blacks in South Africa? The ZULUs were in SA first – Mandela’s force is NOT Zulu. In fact, they are trying to exterminate the Zulus to take over. So please don’t insist that he is fighting for the Zulus.

      • eddie47d

The Zulu’s were not being exterminated by Mandela. Where do you get this crap?

Back about 1967 there was the Detriot Riots. The city police couldn’t put them down, so they called in the state police, who also failed. Then they sent in the National Guard who also didn’t do any good. So they called in the Army in the form of the 101st Airborne from Ft. Campbell, KY.

The Army was there for three days. Actually the riot ended the first day. The other two days were simply insurance. Several who were there told me about it later when I came back from Vietnam.

Those police had orders to do NOTHING as long as the rioters didn’t actually harm anyone. Their orders were to arrest anyone who tried to stop the rioters. In fact, the police tried to arrest several of the soldiers for that – and were warned to stay away since the soldiers were armed as well or better than the police and willing to defend each other.

When they had the LA riots over Rodney King (which wouldn’t have happened if the media hadn’t deliberately blown up the story) again the police did nothing to actually stop the rioters. They simply stood aside and let the rioters damage things and loot buildings with the idea that sooner or later they would get what they wanted and quit. Of course it wasn’t so nice for the victims then. Even when they identified the attackers of one victim (a truck driver pulled from a truck and beaten with a brick) the police and courts refused to press charges. There was some talk of pressing charges against those who did defend themselves and their property, as did the Koreans mentioned above, but it finally came to nothing because too many people would have protested.

If we have riots now, expect the same thing. The police will stand aside. If anything they will attempt to protect the rioters, not the victims. The rioters will break into stores and homes with the sole intention of robbing them. People will be beaten (possibly to death) for simply trying to defend themselves, their families, or their possessions and the police will allow it. Your only hope of protecting yourself and your possessions will be to defend them yourself, alone or with neighbors. But to do so, you MUST get ready now. You will need weapons and food. Forget electricity. Forget help from somewhere else. If you don’t get ready, you will simply be a victim, soon forgotten and certainly not defended. The choice is yours.

I posted this on another site–Neither party is without guilt in the fleecing of America. Both parties contributed heavily towards the mess America is in. I cannot and will not solely blame the Democrats or the Republicans–especially when when both parties are at fault. The issue is that this garbage has been going on for 50-60 years. Now it is time to pay the piper and believe me, we are paying “the piper” for the shenanigans of the political parties. Get your blinders off–do you honestly believe the Republicans will be any better if they gain power and the presidency? I certainly don’t think so. Sure, “change” will be better, but will it be for the common good of America? These are cold hard facts, and I think we should all get a grip and really think long and hard about the political situation. I will never blindly “follow” either party.

Evelyn Waugh, prominent English Tory, wrote in a South American travelogue (compiled):A quote!
” I believe that man is, by nature, an exile and will never be self-sufficient or complete on this earth; that his chances of happiness and virtue, here, remain more or less constant through the centuries and, generally speaking, are not much affected by the political and economic conditions in which he lives; that the balance of good and ill tends to revert to a norm; that sudden changes of physical condition are usually ill, and are advocated by the wrong people for the wrong reasons; that the intellectual communists of today have personal, irrelevant grounds for their antagonism to society, which they are trying to exploit. I believe in government; that men cannot live together without rules but that they should be kept at the bare minimum of safety; that there is no form of government ordained from God as being better than any other; that the anarchic elements in society are so strong that it is a whole-time task to keep the peace. I believe that the inequalities of wealth and position are inevitable and that it is therefore meaningless to discuss the advantages of elimination; that men naturally arrange themselves in a system of classes; that such a system is necessary for any form of co-operation work, more particularly the work of keeping a nation together. I believe in nationality; not in terms of race or of divine commissions for world conquest, but simply thus: mankind inevitably organizes itself in communities according to its geographical distribution; these communities by sharing a common history develop common characteristics and inspire local loyalty; the individual family develops most happily and fully when it accepts these natural limits. A conservative is not merely an obstructionist, a brake on frivolous experiment. He has positive work to do. Civilization has no force of its own beyond what it is given from within. It is under constant assault and it takes most of the energies of civilized man to keep going at all. Barbarism is never finally defeated; given propitious circumstances, men and women, who seem quite orderly, will commit every conceivable atrocity. Unremitting effort is needed to keep men living together at peace.”

    • http://Yahoo Maynard

There is no way to know what past levels of happiness were experienced, Evelyn. We do not know what makes for individual happiness, but we do know what makes for individual suffering: poverty, ignorance, disease, hunger, tyranny, slavery, violence, lack of opportunity. These need to mitigated despite the fact that this will not eliminate inequalities. A minimum of money, education, medical attention, food, freedom and opportunity peace and tranquility is not too much to ask. With scientific advances we could eliminate the wasteful, polluting use of fossil fuels. With voluntary population control, diminshing supplies and resources could be made less acute. With redirection of resources from war and destruction to assistance and support, we could eliminate a great deal of misery and suffering. Evelyn, you are an apologist for the status quo.

      • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Maynard, there is no lack of anything right now. People who can work need to work regardless of whether they are “entitled” to retire from working. They need to at least plant a garden or volunteer to help people if they are not working right now. We need every able bodied person to be busy doing something productive now and this would save our country.

We already have voluntary population control in this country it’s called Abortion, birth control, sterilization and over taxation. The population of this country isn’t rising any more and given some time it will do like many European nations are doing: they are going in decline.

We need to eliminate “war and destruction” so we can give tax cuts to everyone so that they can do what they do best, spend their own money. Then the individual can “assist and support” those they know are in real need and not just deadbeats looking for a handout.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003001185551 Sandy Daniels

The second amendment was written for the following reasons
    1. so that the individual could protect themselves from harm.
    2. so that the people could hunt for food
    3. for the common defense of the United States
    4. to ensure that the government could not destroy the constitution of the United States
    5. so that the government could NOT morph into another form of government such as a dictatorship.

So tell me which of these reasons is out of date or no longer aplicable? The police cannot be everwhere at one time nor do they defend us from harm most of the time. They are there so that the perp can be found and punished. Can they prevent crime ? Well yes in a minimal way such as arresting a rapist and putting him in prison prevents that individual from raping again. The fact is a man can’t be arrested UNTIL he commits a crime. Thats what the constitution says. It also says you are innocent untill PROVEN guilty by a jury of your peers. None of these listed reasons are invalid as a matter of fact they have never been MORE valid than today. Unless you want to literally live out your lives step by step as a government says in an enclosed environment on your knees.

Sorry I can’t do that I am proudly an American born to freedom and responsibility with the right of self determination and the right to pursue my dreams any damned way I see fit so long as it doesn’t intrude on the rights of others. That is also spoken in our constitution.
THATS WHAT WE NEED TO RETURN TO BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE AND IT MAY ALREADY BE.

I was 6 blocks from the action in LA on that day. I had recently graduated from boot camp in SD and was staying with a friend’s family. We watched the news for a while then went outside (cause we were dumb marines) and looked for signs of the riots. Nothing happened.

Sorry to end this story on a lame note but we were ready to do what was neccasary. Only thing is, we weren’t needed. The crowds moved the other direction. It was all pretty calm. We got drunk that night and laughed it off as media hype.

20 years and the only true SHTF situation I have ever seen was Seattles WTO riots. And the only thing the crowd was shooting were cameras. Myself included. The cops? They had guns.

eddie47, mandella and minnie were a deadly pair, they had much blood on their hands whether you want to believe it or not. look up the word”necklace” formulated by the mandellas and also you should search the word aparthied, better yet read the history of south africa, not wikipedia’s version. you evidently haven’t read much about the madellas, “the african national congress” “sacp” (communist party) these are the people affiliated with mandellas.

the area of south africa settled by the whites had few blacks only small bands of bandtu nomads, the zulus were settled in the northern reaches of so. africa, white settlers ran into trouble when they started settling in the northern reaches, much like our settlers during the mid 19th century. when the whites reached point of being prosperous the blacks poured in from all over the northern parts of africa, they had problems with the zulus and by thei time the whites controlled south africa and they separated the tribes in order to stop the killing of each other, that was known as aparthied. the u.s. liberal establishment used this word as a form of racism and turned the world against s.a.

“The crimes committed by the ANC in the name of liberation are legion. First, there was the practice of “necklacing,” in which a gasoline-filled tire is placed around the neck of a
victim and set ablaze — an action carried out by Winnie Mandela and her minions.”

Another horror was the “Church Street Massacre,” in which Nelson Mandela approved of a bomb set to explode at rush hour to maximize casualties of Afrikaner women, children and babies.
these are the people the liberals in this country admired.

The same Mandela who told the black youth of South Africa to “burn down” their schools has produced a lawless, unemployable generation.

…nothing like oppressing blaks in their own land by white Europeans (british, etc.) for maintaining ‘law and order’, for to rebel against it is a sign of lawlessness that could only be fix by properly accepting ‘the master’s rule’.

nobody forced the blacks into southern africa and nobody forced them to stay. the whites did make rules to stop their killing each other “aparthied”

What President? We have NO “LEGAL” president! We ONLY have an imposter! A wanna-be, self righteous born in Kenya man, who has NO one that knew him etc.who has NO past history that can be seen, and it is as OBAMA himself had said,”Those that don’t want to expose the TRUTH, are those that have something to hide” That is from the self proclaimed savior/Joke of the U.S.A.

    • http://katrael.wordpress.com Katrael

Homer, not only is Obama an imposter because of his citizenship status but he and all of the presidents back to Woodrow Wilson have been imposters because of the 17th amendment. Though the 17th amendment was ratified by three quarters of the states it’s illegal because the main body of the constitution forbid changing how Senators were elected. You’d have to change the main body of the constitution to allow a change in electing Senators and that never happened and the 17th amendment is in conflict with the constitution. What’s that got to do with the presidents?

The electoral votes are to be counted in the Senate and a winner is to be declared. If the Senate is not a legal judicial body then they can’t count the votes.

Doesn’t it make you wonder why we ended up with an income tax amendment and right on the heels of that we ended up with a changed in how Senators are elected?

      Answer this, please:

Why if Mitt Romney’s father born in ‘Mexico’ to american parents was considered’ a U.S. born citizen and therefore can be president?, ( he did run for president).

      Why then,

If, as you pretend to believe, Obama was born in Kenya to an american mother, why wouldn’t he too, be considered a U.S. born citizen and therefore be president?

Could there be another more sinister and/or cynical reason for this?
      Most certainly there is.

*****You know, this was just saying; because we (at least people of average intelligence) all know ***Obama was born in Hawaii, U.S.A.,*** and not in Kenya which would have made him a british subject because at the time Kenya was a British dependency.

good lord, i wish wouldn’t waste my time on sites like these. don’t get me wrong, the left wing nuts are just as bad ( and i would presume worse if a right wing nut was pres. ). it is so hard to find well rounded opinions, mostly all i find is regurgitated biased political ideology, conspiracy, and dogma. my utopia is a true democracy, where all voices are heard and politicians write laws that majority can agree upon which best serves all. all this without outside special interests or party bias influence. altruism. explain to me how jesus would view this concept. i don’t like or trust our gov’t either. for what little i know of america’s heritage, i would dare say that all the founding fathers would be disappointed. the office of the pres. is bought and sold just like any other commodity. and we the citizens disenfranchised. how is the voice of the people to be heard over that. all this discussion over obama, romney, capitalsim, communism, marxism, randism may make for fun games, but are otherwise moot, and futile. i spent most of my life laughing at or ignoring that only thing to fear is fear itself thing because i never cared to understand it. sad that it is obvious just how easy it is for fear to be used for subjugation. why do i have to dream to think that we could ever start working with every thing that we all have in common, and set aside all of our petty differences until there’s time to reason them out. i apologize for my condescending tone. i know that chaos ultimately rules, and not always in our favor. so be it for utopia’s. i am afraid that all this hatred, left unchecked will destroy this beautiful planet god is nice enough to allow us to live on. thank god for rainbows. i do pray that the end of times come by gods’ will and not by the hand of man.

brett, a true democracy won’t work any better than what we have now. It’s another utopian idea that can’t be fulfilled. A democracy is only the next step before a fascist government. Democracies are mob rule where the mob constantly changes the rules.

      • brett

i was hoping for something a little more insightful. how did you miss my point about utopias? by my defn. ours’ is already obliquely fascist. did you know that fascism that became an ism after the fact to describe an actual political social system, where as, all the other isms were once just ideas, pure speculations before we named things after them making them more than what they originally meant to be?

In the early Greek democracy all voted but as more people became involved democracy degenerated into what we call democracy today. That democracy is for those with money and/or power. For the remaining of us we are entering the era of the Terminator movies.

  • brett

shouldn’t do two things at once; correction: …that fascism is the only ism that… sorry.

    • brett

My Thoughts: I think this author is just another anti calling for the disarmament of the American people for the sake of what they think is a just cause, and I’ll admit he makes quite an emotional appeal. However, if he were as bright and as right as he might think he is, he would see the ignorance of his view, one he pints out himself in own writings contained within his own appeal:

“It is a sucker’s bet to think that the President or the Federal government will protect us and the ones we love. It is up to us to take the steps we must take to protect ourselves.”

Would he have US disarmed and willing to lie defenseless in waiting for injury or possible death when this Spread Of Violence comes upon US? Could he truly be suggesting something so truly ignorant? I think he is! We know all-to-well that the anti’s are anti-common sense, anti-logic, and anti-reason. It is not the guns that are the causes such violence, but rather the persons behind the gun; not all actions with a gun are used in an offensive manner, many are used in a action of defense; something often overlooked by those with an unreasonable fear, and/or ignorance of firearms.

The author speaks of the bloody horror in South Africa because of the people armed with guns. I suggest instead of just seeing the horror of the so-called gun violence that take a moment and try to imagine the possible atrocities that might have taken place if these would-be-victims were unarmed. All John Myers has to do is look at the history of the world to where atrocities of a severe magnitude have taken place when and where the citizenry had been disarmed or unarmed.

Again I suggest that Mr. Myers pay attention his own writing when he states “Violence is as old as humanity in Africa.” This is true, and it was long-long before a firearm ever came Africa; such is not only true of Africa but of the world in whole. ~ Onebgg
