The Race To The Bottom

April 17, 2012 by

The Race To The Bottom
George Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Trayvon Martin.

With the revelation that poor George Zimmerman will be the target of a zealous (not to mention ambitious) Florida prosecutor, the sad saga of the Sanford shootout has cemented its position as the dominant news item of the moment. And while the public lynching of the as-yet-to-be-tried-much-less-convicted Zimmerman is noteworthy in and of itself, behind this sordid soap opera lies a much larger subtext of liberal hypocrisy and racism and its movie-monster lurch from ugly to obscene.

Although it would be unfair to implicate solely the corporate media in overcooking the Zimmerman story — after all, when the President of the United States blunders into the situation like Mr. Magoo on a three-day bender, it is news — there is no question that some in the corporate media have spun rhetorical lead from journalistic gold.

Chief among these is an outlet to which I not-so-jokingly refer as “the Democrat Channel” and you know better as MSNBC. To suggest that the talking hairstyles at NBC News’ idiot sister have stoked the Floridian fires undersells the point like suggesting three-day-old sushi is “ripe.” While nightly anchor Brian Williams and the cast of the “Today Show” try — and fail — to present themselves as journalists, the freak show candidates on NBCUniversal’s commentary outlet have managed to “Lean Forward” and fall out the window of credibility. The problem is not their overt bias; the problem is that when the supposed defenders of the public trust begin actively violating said trust on behalf of politicians, the truth suffers along with us.

As if the unfortunate business involving the phantom NBC editor who deliberately turned Zimmerman’s 911 call into a racist rant worthy of one of those “let’s lynch Clarence Thomas and his wife” psychos at Common Cause wasn’t enough, the junior varsity is so consumed by hatred that they make people like Williams look like Edward R. Murrow.

Forget about every mentally unbalanced host, every Barack Obama Administration flunky, every ivory tower elitist, every feminist harpy, every overheated eco-loon and every apologist for every tin-pot fascist from Hugo Chavez to Rahm Emanuel.

Remember instead: Al Sharpton. If there is one man who rivals Obama in tearing asunder the public discourse, it’s Sharpton. The man actually participated in a hoax that involved smearing feces on a teenaged girl. When Sharpton decided to make Trayvon Martin a pet cause, the left erupted in paroxysms of race-baiting animus. And now, he’s pushing a network that sent Pat Buchanan packing for expressing opinions considered detrimental to “the national dialogue,” to carry his racist hatefests live as both coverage and content. Worst of all, as of last week, he sports the endorsement of the President. Attorney General and alleged Operation Fast and Furious mastermind Eric Holder spoke to the Sharpton-led hate group National Action Network last week, suggesting he was “honored to be included in this annual gathering once again and bring greetings from a friend of mine, President Obama.”

MSNBC hosts were perfectly happy to demand everything short of execution for Rush Limbaugh when he got rough with Nancy Pelosi’s pawn Sandra Fluke. And now, with Sharpton leading the parade, Zimmerman is virtually a dead man walking. Interesting, considering the effort Sharpton expended trying to exonerate cop killer Troy Davis.

Obama’s ascendency has split this Nation in two (or more). Sometime soon, I’ll probably examine his role in the death of American civility more closely. But liberals are fond of demanding the government step on the throats of anyone who dares question them. I somehow doubt the same government that has allowed an unhinged cable network to tie Zimmerman to the whipping post without the benefit of a trial is likely to step in on the increasingly vile venom spewed daily on MSNBC. Therefore, it falls to us to know who is speaking and what’s being said. Sharpton and the tinfoil hat brigadiers are speaking.  And I am repulsed by everything they’re saying.

As an aside: I would be remiss if I omitted the fact that we are playing taps over the caskets of our servicemen and servicewomen to the tune of about a soldier, sailor, airman or Marine per day on average. Thank God for MSNBC. How noble of the network to distract us from maudlin reality with a good old-fashioned lynching.

You have to have credibility,to lack it.
Mentality Starved National Bolshevik Communications, can claim neither.
They exist therefore they are….that is about the extent of what can be said of them.
It is said that cloacal sphincters are like opinions, and everyone has one.But science cannot measure the vortex of spin which is inherent in todays media circles. It astounds and amazes even me(not an easy thing to accomplish!).
I will never get used to the amount of witheld, and disinformation heard on any newscast.
Its alot like watching a commercial. It goes out of its way to insult my intelligence.Objectivity along with good taste, routinely flies out the window.and is replaced by opinionated nonsense. It becomes painfully obvious to me then, that in an effort to entertain me for a half hour,or in hour long loops if I choose to watch longer, the news is left on the desktop, and media has replaced it.
When I apply scrutiny to the stories that are being masticulated by most locals with relative ease,i find them hard to chew and have to spit them out because I just cant seem to swallow their content.
But you would think this was just a case of local spindoctor magic?
That is until you watch the national variety news. Not until that moment do you get an appreciation of just what a whirlpool you’ve just gotten yourself into. The sense you get is being hogtied by ropes made of male bovine fecal matter,to the extent of defying all logic.
    Hence my comparison to advertisements.
These modern news folk advertise spin, instead of reporting objectively.
IMHO,a dunce could see this fact from over the horizon.
Yet it is taken seriously enough for some to watch the comedy channel and get their news from that source!?If that isnt a scathing note of modern societal insanity, nothing is.
But what can be expected when the major news outlets have no credulity to them?
Walter Kronkite is rolling over in his grave.
Empires have crumbled at less propagandized treatment of citizens.
It is simply mass media marketing gone awry.Pick your demographic and stroke their egocentrical enticement edifice.
Ah yes… have sweet nothings whispered into your ear, complete with dislcaimers of side effects spoken rapidly in the background as scenes of serenity pass by your vision.Notice that because of having a modicum of good taste, you and the imaginary model of the opposite sex are sitting in two separate tubs, instead of raucously being entwined together in one small space,as is the case when reality sets in,and you are staring at your spouse in a tub that is too small to contain either of you alone, let alone(separately).
That is what happens to you mentally when you try to enjoy the modern newscast.
You are immediately whisked away to a place where reality has been replaced by someone else’s visions of reality. In that secluded place your intellect is poked and prodded and made to conform to the thoughts being projected by the producer.
After your brainscrubbing, you relax to a nice human interest story that makes the world seem safe and cuddly.

I am the product of the public education system and have been dumbed down quite a bit by it. However, through hard work, and tutoring, I have brought it up to the 5th grade reading level. I therefore politely ask that you write your opinion again at a 4th Grade (reading) level, so the I may share you highly intelligent ‘cawmun cents’ with my fellow hunters (that is, if I can first get them to break the lip lock they have with the bottle of beer that they enyoy so much after the hunt.).

I am not inferring that you write at a 5th grade reading level, I’m only saying, that I understand at a 5th grade level. But, because you monikered yourself as ‘cawmun cents’ that tells me that you’re pure of heart and are sharing your wisdom with us the dirty, ignorant rabble.

Funny and sad. I laugh until I cry, thinking about how peoples minds are so easily manipulated, to believe the endless garbage spewed by the media. Yeah and it is about as pleasant as you describe to sit back and watch and listen to these filthy pigs.

  • Karolyn

    Poor George Zimmerman???

    • Flashy

Karolyn ! how could you question that ? i’s is SO WRONG to have Zimmerman legitimize his claim of slef-defense! Why don’t we take his word alone on the claim…and then allow anyone to shoot nd kill at will and want and never question the situation once they claim ‘self defense” !

Isn’t it our Right to be able to shoot anyone we want if we think they are an immediate danger to us in our own psychotic mind? Doesn’t it make you feel so much safer knowing everyone is packing a gun and itching to show they are like a character in a Clint Eastwood movie? By all means we should take the law into our own hands ! Absolutely…let’s have a snuff party at the local bar each Saturday night ! And our childtren are soooo much safer with every adult packin’ a guin and demanding to be allowed on schoolo grounds because it’s ‘their Right” .. and to hell with our Rights.

Jeesh karolyn…you must be some Liberal to dare think it’s a bad idea to let anyone pack a gun and shoot anyone they decide is ‘a danger’ and not have to legitimize anything !

      • Wyatt

Flasher as I have said before , you were not there , you do not know what the circumstances of the event in question or any of the facts . There is only one person living who knows exactly what happened and one , possibly two eye witnesses people who gave eyewitness accounts of what they saw after the initial confrontation had started . These individuals were observing in response to crys for help , allegedly from poor George Zimmerman who you in your Al Sharpton self rightousness seem so egar to lynch .

As for your wild west ,Clint Eastwood , analogy of wild west shoot ups . I would suggest you perhaps spend more time learning about the history of the west and less time camped on the sofa watching the saturday morning oaters . If truth be told , there were relatively few actual shoot outs in the old west dispite what you see on the opening credits of gunsmoke . The actual documented facts show only a half dozen at most , and only one where two men squared of in the middle of the street. As virtually every man was armed the had a tendency to be polite to one another .

Now I am not advocating everyone run down to their local gunshop and buy a gun , most like you would only wind up blowing their empty heads off (hmm , now there’s a thought) but you and those like you with your lynch mob mentality and bleeding heart liberl bias flock like sheep to the words of racist and divicive idiots like Sharpton , Jackson and yes Barry Obama . Without racism these people couldn’t survive except in their own little worlds of bitterness .

The courts will now decide the fate of George Zimmerman , hopefully in a fair and unbiased way based upon the existing laws of the state . Unfortunately I don’t know if this is possible . What with a pitbull prosecutor , and Zimmerman having been tried in the media . This trial is a result of officials and law enforcement being cowed into charges being filed by agents who should have no business mixing in .

I remind you once again , the event in question occured a month before all the brouha began and Barry Obama put his two cents in and sent his outside agitators to stir things up and get the attention off of himself . All you bleeding hearts had best wake up to the fact to who and what has turned an isolated event into a national debate . I have yet to see or hear any outcry anout the little girl killed in a drive by shooting . The two British tourists killed simply because they walked into the wrong neighborhood or any of the numerous attacks on whites by black youths in the name of Martin . What a pack of Hypocrites . Zimmerman is in fact Hispanic , not white . Get a grip and smell just what you are shoveling !

      • Flashy

Wyatt…please re-read what i wrote. I was calling into question those who state Zimmerman should not be brought up and held to account for his actions and that he does not, nor should not, show he was acting in self defense.

As for your paragraph “As for your wild west ,Clint Eastwood , analogy of wild west shoot ups . As virtually every man was armed the had a tendency to be polite to one another .’

I suggest you aslo read up on the Old West. Many, including Doge City, had laws which stated no guns in the city limits. Those came about in response to allowing unfettered carrying.

Families saw their safety was not along the path of having everyone packing a gun. And those who chose not to turn in the armor..they were then easily identifiable and there wasn’t a question as to whether they were ‘law abiding’ or not.

One other item for you to note. Most of the firearms owned and carried in the Old West weren’t psitols. Those were viewed as almost worthless …. most guns were rifles. A much more useful weapon and hunting tool.

now…what was that you were saying about the Old West?

      • castaway

I would take Zimmermans word anyday, over a damn negro.I was going to use a more appropriate word, but it would cause a rush of liberals to Hollar Mommy Mommy Mommy, He said a bad word

      • Dennis48e

“Many, including Doge City, had laws which stated no guns in the city limits. Those came about in response to allowing unfettered carrying.”

Those laws were only enforced on cowboys coming in with trail herds and other strangers. The citizens of the towns were allowed to carry and/or have guns at hand ready to use.

      • Robert Smith

Wyatt says: “There is only one person living who knows exactly what happened and one , possibly two eye witnesses people who gave eyewitness accounts of what they saw after the initial confrontation had started . These individuals were observing in response to crys for help , allegedly from poor George Zimmerman…”

I’ll bet you think it’s George who knows exactly what happened. I’ll agree that he may “know” but he’s also a proven (to 99%) liar because he claimed it was him screaming when the 911 tapes show that is extremely unlikley.

Eye witnesses tend not to be as reliable as was once believed, particularly in the face of the technology that has already been applied.

For all you right wing “diplomatic” folks who don’t think George is going to get a fair shake consider the shake that the dead kid got. I’ll bet his parents wish he was around to be tried.

      • Robert Smith

Form Flashy: ” including Doge City, had laws which stated no guns in the city limits. Those came about in response to allowing unfettered carrying.”

Actually they were put in place so the sharrif and his buddies were the only ones carrying guns. They liked to gamble and sometimes when they won folks weren’t so friendly…

      • JeffH

castaway says: “I would take Zimmermans word anyday, over a damn negro.”

I wouldn’t take your word for anything!

castaway, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…you’re a straight up racist, no different than Al Sharpton and do a diservice to your own credibility here by making such comments.

You’re either young, stupid or all of the above.

      • Vicki

        JeffH says to castaway:

You’re either young, stupid or all of the above.

There is another and more likely choice. Agent Provocateur.

      • JeffH

Vicki, that’s right. :) Been brought up on more than one occasion too.

  • Power To The People

Karolyn, your pity is resounding…..give me a break. Hope you libs got what you want with the Hope and Change!

    • Jim in NY

I have gotten what I wanted. Have uyou checked the performance of the stock market in the last 3+ years. Have you looked at your 401K statement. SO much wealth was destroed in 2007 and 2008.

      • Irene Elizabeth Grooms

If i’m not mistaken the democrats controled the house and senate then

      • Flashy

yep…the Dems came in in 2007 and somehow managed to overnight tank the economy. there was nothing negative building up before then. uh uh …. those pesky Dem. The basis and causes for the crash magically materialized as soon as those Democrats sat down.

        Jeesh …. THINK !

      • Ed Gooding

Well, it’s nice that you are doing well, Jim. It IS all about you, right? How much money do you think all those unemployed people have been putting in their 401(k)’s over the last couple years? Why not walk your liberal talk, and take some of those huge gains and redistribute some of your money to some local folks who are unemployed?

      • Thor

As I have pointed out to you before, Flash’em, you are the one who needs to ‘think’! And do some research before you open that pie hole…if you can count, look at the Congressional Record yourself and count the number of years in the last century that Democrats have been in charge of both houses of Congress. When you get done, you’ll find Republicans have only had control 13 out of the last 100 years and all 13 since Ronald Reagan. That means Democrats are responsible for 87% of what’s wrong with this country anyway you cut it! Geeze! How about you think for a change!

      • Flashy

Well thor..If you look at the numbers, you’ll see this nation began the downward trend in 1981….and the beginning of the largest wealth redistribution in the history of Mankind began at that time as well … redistribution from the Middle Class to the wealthy.

      • Thor

Good point, Flashman, and I can count on one hand how many genuine rightwingers have held office since ’81, Yet, you continue to blame an unrepresented minority for all the ills of society and government. Where does that leave your logic and credibility?

      • kantstanja

“If i’m not mistaken the democrats controled the house and senate then”..

I notice this statement comes up constantly when someone rags on big daddy Bush but now that it’s the other way around (relatively) it’s all Obama’s fault.. Whatta bunch of corn dawgs.

kantstanja you are the corn dawg. The Republicans only control the House and do not have a super majority in it. The democrats still control the Senate. I take it back you are not a corn dawg you are only the stick it fell off of.

    • Chief

Good post Wyatt was there any doubt Zimmerman would be tried and convicted by our news media without benefit of trial? When Al Sharpton started this race thing you know it no longer had anything to do with facts just plain hatred by some people. As an American citizen I think if you were not there and saw it personally you should keep quiet and let the law take it’s corse maybe somewhere there will be some real facts revealed and may justice prevail if possible.

      • Flashy

Seems when the Zimmerman issue was discussed a week or so ago, i stated he should be charged and allowed to opportunity to clear his name. That suggestions was roundly criticized in this forum. Seems folks have a new take on the issue…lol

      • vicki

        Flashy says:

Considering how the media doctored the evidence released to the public it is quite obvious what would happen.

  • TonyD

If “Poor George Zimmerman” does not make racially biased, stereotypic decisions, and if he obeys the instructions of the 911 operator and does not follow or make contact, then nothing happens….period………….Poor George my ass.

    • http://liberty Tony

      To TonyD.:
Right on!! I hope more people listen to your reasoning. Thanks!!

      • Jimmy

Were either of you there? Didn’t think so! So stop convicting him! Now there will be a trial and we will see.

      • vicki

Unless of course it was Martin who “made contact” by punching Zimmerman in the face. Of course Tony and TonyD were not there and have little clue as to what happened. Then again neither was I.

But I am not calling for Zimmerman to be locked up either.

    • Americanjoe

Poor TonyD, can’t see the forest for the trees. Zimmerman only responded to the 911 operator, made no direct reference to race, is under no obligation to obey a 911 operator, yet he returned to his car where he was soon confronted by a much larger and stronger thug. What is a 17 year old doing out at 2 am? How about no good, but pea brained village idiots have already convicted Mr. Zimmerman based on their emotions and not fact (still to be discovered). Go back to your tribe and lick the boots of your master because the rule of law is way too advanced for your mentality.

      • absolutely amazed

The one fact that stands out – an unarmed young man has been shot dead with a really lethal handgun by a man told not to track him. That is a tragedy. Anyone who thinks this sort of behavior can be condoned, let alone praised and encouraged, is not human, or at least not human with with any sort of conscience or soul. What concerns me is that are a lot of Zimmermans out there, quite a few of them on this blogosphere.

      • Chester

Last I heard, Zimmerman was out of his truck and actively following Martin on foot, which means he put himself in harms way. I have noticed, most pointedly, that there was NO coroner’s report on Martin’s physical condition other than dead by bullet wound, so the distinct possiblilty that he was physically attacked before he, supposedly, knocked Zimmerman down is still open for question. I do know that if someone like Zimmerman came up behind me late at night, he could well be in for more of a rough and tumble than he bargained for.

      • http://liberty Tony

        To Absolutely Amazed:
Unfortunately sir, how right and true you are. This is being said from a conservative. Thanks!!

      • ToeTagTunny

Wait a minute!! ” What is a 17 year old doing out at 2 am? “…??

When was this released? I’ve heard nothing about this time.. Who plays sports at 2am in the morning? Was it pre-recorded and if so, why would anybody sit through a half-time show and why would someone decide to go to the store during this recorded half time when all he had to do was fast forward back to the game? There’s definitely a lot of information/evidence that no one knows about thus why not just think something up.. Rumors have never been a good beacon toward truth.. I whole heartedly request that everyone put this bashing of who’s right and who’s wrong to bed and just wait until the trial begins so that we can discover elements that we’re only supposing now. I’m willing to wait.. Zimmerman isn’t going anywhere.. Some say he was in the wrong, are they right? Some say it was self-defense, are they right? In each person’s mind they feel their right but no one will know until the final judgement THEN one or the other can say, “I TOLD YOU SO!!” But up until then, how ’bout we just wait and see. I’m not for anyone toting around a weapon in public, especially a neighborhood watcher and for that reason (whether it was justified or not) is the blunt of the problem. To me it indicates no one trusts anyone anymore. I think the legal process is now justified, Zimmerman needs to explain his participation and the law has (finally) accommodated this.. Look, I’m not trying to assume a person’s conscience, I’m just saying, like the political arena and everyone’s opinion of who’s better than who, we’re getting nowhere this way other than lengthening the gap between ourselves.

    • eddie47d

Few convicted Zimmerman up front but many questioned his actions as being legitimate. Apparently you can’t see the difference. Everyone deserves a fair trial without the cover up. Years ago I was amazed that some folks thought Rodney King deserved to be beaten by the police. The police have no such right and their duty is to arrest and let the courts do the convicting with applicable evidence. Those cops should have been the ones serving time for taking the law into their own hands.

      • http://google rose

And how about the white truck driver who was drug out of his truck during the riots and got his head bashed in with a brick. By 3 black men, who danced around and and laughed and beat that white man? I remember. I seen the videos. Did he get rich off of being beat? The men who beat him got off and it was racialy motivated. But I guess he didn’t matter, because he was white. His life was radically change forever from that incident. Poor Zimmerman he will be lucky to get a fair trial.

    • Freedom

Nice language! looks like you are thinking with your rear end anyway

    • Irene Elizabeth Grooms

How about you wait until there is a trial before you convick this man.You people make me sick to the core cause Zimmerman could be telling the truth and by the way was your sorry butt there.

    • madgorilla

Unless, of course, that darling boy Trayvon comes up and blindsides him and then tries to cave in his head on the concrete sidewalk. By the way, Hispanic is NOT a race, it is an ethnicity. There is only ONE race, Homo Sapiens Sapiens — aka “the human race.” Different skin color in and of itself is no more significant from a racial standpoint than it is between a pinto horse and a sorrel horse. They’re both horses. There are five subgroups: Caucasoid, Negroid, Mongoloid, Oriental, and Pacific Islander. Hispanic (from Spain) is Caucasian. Native Americans are mostly Mongoloid (from Mongolia). You’re talking about culture/ethnicity, not race. All this “race” garbage is a pile of horse manure. We ALL are descended from early humans who originated in the great Rift valley of east Africa, and that has been proven by genetic tracking.

      • http://Aol CommonSense4America

Well,,,that certainly cleared up our national dialogue. What will Al Sharpton do now?

      • oh oh

There remains one human species and several human races. The PC culture has tried to blur the distinction for political reasons the same way they blur the distinction between a democracy and a republic. In some respects there are distinct, discernible differences that have been studied, proven and documented thoroughly. There just aren’t enough honest or courageous people left in our culture to address the differences intelligently, preferring the superficial mantras about our similarities that are used to indoctrinate our children in public schools and pander to the entitlement class in progressive liberal politics.

      • Karolyn

You’re wrong. He’s right. There is only one race. We all came from the same place and are all related.

  • Moby49

So who is alive and who is dead?? You article would have us believe Zimmerman is the victim. I believe if you watch any news organization world wide, except Fox, you will find that Zimmerman was the shooter and Martin the victim, a little tidbit you forget to mention in your rant. Your twisted hatred of Obama obscured that fact.

    • lady kroft

Moby49….So…is that to say that everyone who is shot and killed during a crime is an innocent victim? That’s essentially what you’re saying. You weren’t there; you don’t know. You’re just part of the lynch mob with a bad case of sh_t mouth and fecal matter for brains and so are the rest of you commenters who are so gung ho in giving a verdict without a trial. I can tell on here which of you commenters are black…you talk without thinking. You’re a bunch of rectums.

      • Jim in NY

Yoiu and your ilk are the ones who do not want a trial. You have prejudged the outcome of a trial.

      • http://N/A CintiCB

Well said. Trayvon was NOT the cute, sweet/mild looking, skinny little kid shown in the photo that his parents released to the media. He was much older and MUCH larger than the five or six year old photo. If Trayvon did, in fact, approach a retreating Zimmerman from behind, then ‘da victim’ was the one who pursued! This ‘little victim’, basically, put himself back into the situation! By the way, this ‘sweet unarmed little kid’ had been suspended from school because ‘burglary tools’ were found in his locker or backpack-among other suspensions. Apparently, the school is racist, too. This could be the ONLY explanation of why they’d suspend such a sweet little kid!!! As far as your comment about being able to tell who is black because they speak without thinking-I have heard tons of highly fecal laden garbage come out of the mouths of some whites and other races! I think that these peoples’ race is more identifiable by how they pick + choose what they believe or ignore, thereby, furthering ‘their case’ when they can and stating their opinions as fact. This is a tragic occurence on all sides and all aspects. I hope we reach a time where race isn’t even addressed in situations like this. By the way, why isn’t it a ‘hate crime’ when blacks kill a white while car jacking, home invading, mugging, or just for the fun of it?

    • eddie47d

How many convicted OJ Simpson before that trial and had him hung out to dry? Even when he was acquitted his life was ruined. No one yet knows the right answer and he may have been guilty. We absolutely know Zimmerman killed Trayvon under suspicious circumstances and there must be a trial to sort this out. Even if we find justice the anger will linger for quite some time whether guilt or innocence is declared.

    • Irene Elizabeth Grooms

Was you there to see what happen NO you weren’t and none of us was there so why don’t you wait until there is a trial and see what happen.

      • Flashy

        Irene…was OJ guilty?

      • vicki

O.J. was found not guilty by a jury. Case closed. The rest of us were not there that night and thusly have no knowledge of O.J.’s innocence or guilt.

  • Klaus

George Zimmerman is now the national scapegoat. It does not matter what he did or did not do, the media has already convicted him, and the prosecutor is out to make a name for herself. Remind anyone of the prosecutor in the lacrosse team case a couple of years ago?
People like Sharpton, Holder, Obama,Jackson, the Congressional Black Caucus, etc. are the ones that are the racists in America.

    • MAP

They must keep up the charade, or else the money stops flowing into their pockets. It’s all about the money. It’s the “Race-hustling for Money” club. Racial divides will never change so long as cretins like these contiue to use it for ill-gotten gain. Welcome to the world of liberal hypocricy and greed.

      • Flashy

if you think about what the rants are here and in the media…the most heated rhetoric is that Zimmerman is being asked to account for his actions. Perhaps the gun lobbyists/industry and the lunatic fringe should be worried about the public scrutiny of the wacked out allowances for allowing everyone to carry at will and be able to take the law into their own hands.

Otherwise, there is no rational reason not to have Zimmerman explain and prove himself.

      • vicki

Flashy unintentially makes a good point. Had young Martin been allowed to have a gun he could have defended himself (presumes he was the victim)

This just goes to show you that gun control gets people killed.

    • Flashy

I had a good laugh at those calling the DA “overzealous’ and “out to make a name for herself”. Criminey…talk about handling Zimmerman with kid gloves..this prosecutorial team is doing just that.

Over charge and set the level of conviction high, then have a trial and let Zimmerman legitimize his claim he acted in self defense.

If they were going for a conviction and being zealous in the prosecution, the charges would have been Manslaughter. All they did is cahrge according to the “crime”. If Zimmerman can legitimize his claim of self defense…he walks free and name is cleared. if he can’t, then the act is viewed as if he did not act in Self Defense.

Over zealous prosecution my as* ….

They did what was appropriate. You kill someone and claim self defense…then all that is asked is you show you acted in self defense. Otherwise, you snuffed someone and have to accept being held to account for your actions.

      • MAP

Or the liberals begin a campaign of ‘weeping injustice’ and Zimmerman is persecuted rather than prosecuted out of fear of race riots. The example of the Rodney King fiasco is still fresh on many minds. In that scenario, Zimmerman receives no justice, but becomes a victim of the liberal agenda.

      • Flashy

And of course not being manipulated or used by the gun nuts and Stand Your Ground lunatic supporters…

      • MAP

Flashy, they aren’t the ones that created this pathetic show. Why, other than to broaden the agenda, would they even be drug into it. As usual, your leftist/communist leanings blind your vision. Speaking of hidden agendas, you come here spouting your leftist nonsense every day and never say who exactly it is that pays you to be here. This is VERY suspicious in my book. Don’t the communists call that an infiltrator?

      • Flashy

        MAP…is that what you’re called?

      • MAP

Those are my real world initials. I have nothing to hide. And I am not paid to be here. Nor am I secretive and subversive. Who pays a far-left extremist nut-case to come here and spew propaganda? What sort of orginization would do such a thing? And for what reason? It reminds me of the cloak and dagger days of the cold war.
Who would trust anything someone says when they will not even reveal who pays them to say it. Is the far left addicted to subversion and allergic to disclosure? All the more reason to distrust, fear, and combat it.

      • eddie47d

Map makes an awful lot of assumptions in his attempt in “trying” to be fair. There are those on the right who also parade around questionable “facts” in garnishing support for their views.

      • Flashy

good question. good thing no one is spewing propaganda eh? only facts and rational opinions…

be sure and let us know when someone does come on spewing propaganda….

So Flashy if I had a really large and strong fist, and was beating you to a pulp, with the intent to kill you, would you pull your gun if you had one to save yourself, then shoot me dead? No wittnesses, but you knew if you did not you would die.

Would you want to be accused of murder, and need a really really good and experienced attorney to defend you, when you cannot afford such attorney? Because in reality, you are guilty until proven innocent. If you cannot afford that fancy attorney, then your goose is really cooked, and you will spend the rest of your life in jail. My GOD, all I did was defend myself, and I need to go through this hell? Yep your are guilty as sin, you killed someone. No matter he was going to kill you.

Remember, you have no right to defend yourself.

      • Opal the Gem

“be sure and let us know when someone does come on spewing propaganda….”

Castaway….since i don’t carry a firearm, and in the many years i’ve been breathin’ air never had the need for one…nor have i ever met anyone who had the need for one…your scenario is highly unlikely and improbable.

Be that as it may…first…if i had a firearm and someone was beatin’ the hell outta me? Well…if it was close quarter fighting, the first thing i would do is get rid of the damn thing so he doesn’t have a chance at getting it. And take the beating and try to get away … Dad didnt raise a fool (it takes a lot to beat someone to death…and by that time you’reunconcious and not feeling it anyway).

if I managed to extracate myself and stand back aways to be secure that i could pull it out safely without danger of it being grabbed away? i’d show it..and back away and gt the heck outta there.

but since i don’t pack anythng, and never had the need for it…nor foresee a need for one like some idiot shootin’ up someplace thinking he’s “protecting’ himself…

      • Dennis48e

“Over charge and set the level of conviction high, then have a trial and let Zimmerman legitimize his claim he acted in self defense.”

In other words Zimmerman is guilty until proven innocent. Just the opposite of the way the system is supposed to work.

Spoken like a true deciple of old Tail Gunner Joe.

Tell me, is everyone who disagrees with you “paid” to do so?

BTW, you have NEVER, nor has anyone else proven such a claim to be true.

For example, do you still beat the crap out of your dog so you can serve it to your kids? First, it’s a question. Second, as you have done so many times, it implies that you might do such a thing without any ramifications (except that your lame attempt to discredit another is obvious).

Do you really have anything that contributes to the discussion, or are you all rants and giggles because you “showed” that there “liberal?”

      • Flashy

Dennis…nope. He is not guilty. He can show he acted appropriately given the circumstances. If he can’t, the charges are warranted.

What SHOULD have happened was the police do their jobs instead of covering up what they could, the DA taking proper evidenciary procedures, and Zimmerman demanding a public inquest if he is so sure of being in the right.

In the good ol’ days when America was “back with God” our nations bought and sold human beings, slaughtered and robbed land from Indians and Mexicans, fought expansionist wars to seize territory from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Panama, Guam, the Philippines, etc. God-fearing America segregated blacks and denied them their basic Constitutional rights, subordinated women, denying them the right to vote and the opportunity to earn men’s wages. I and millions of other Americans don’t want to go back to those “good ol’ days when America was one with God. With all our current problems, I will take them over the egregious crimes and atrocities of America’s “golden days.”

    • Chester

Agape, do you realize just how close we came to having king George the First(better known as Bush 2) sitting on his throne in Washington? For sure it was a lot closer than we are to having martial law declared over Zimmerman. All that was needed then was any sort of terrorist action inside the U.S. Things aren’t nearly as hot now as then, so don’t expect any problems from the military you don’t bring ujpon yourself.

  • timblosser

You can’t have it both ways. “Poor” George Zimmerman? I think not. Was/is he the victim of a witch hunt? By some. Take that dimension away though, and the facts remain that a.) he was carrying a gun contrary to the policy of Neighborhood Watch, that b.) he shot an unarmed pedestrian, and c.) he targeted Martin because he ‘thought’ he looked as though he were ‘up to no good’. Is the Florida prosecutor ‘zealous’? I don’t know, and if that is the case, I for one prefer my prosecutors to be zealous. Over-zealous racism on one side of the equation is no excuse for reactionary sympathy on the other.

  • Zachary Wilson

How is George Zimmerman a scapegoat? What happened to being held accountable for your actions? He’s just a punk who was out looking for trouble! No one who is not a law enforcement officer or a certified armed guard should be able to leave their home with a loaded firearm!

    • PIlot

What a fool!!! I carry, and have the right to defend myself from the many of armed and dangerous thugs and gangbangers out in the public today. disarm the honest folk and what do you have? A flock of sheep amongst wolves

      • mark

But the adolescent who George Zimmermann killed with his pistol, Trayvon Martin, was NOT armed.

      • CZ52

“What and who will protect me and my loved ones from you? i should be able to rely on the law … ”

Tell you what flashy you can rely on the law all you want but as for me I cannot carry a policeman around with me 24/7/365 so I will just have to depend on myself for my protection. I have had three occasions when I was glad to have a pistol with me once in home and twice when outside my home.

      • http://Aol CommonSense4America

Flashy,,,here is a news flash for you. Cops come to the scene of a crime. That means AFTER you are shot. Secondly, cops don’t carry guns to protect you. They carry guns to protect themselves. Please protect yourself and family. Stay safe.

      • Zachary Wilson

What an [offensive word removed] I lived in NEW YORK CITY in the BRONX for 55 years and I don’t carry any weapons and I’ve yet to see these so called wolf packs roaming around preying on the helpless public. It’s fools like you who would be happy to pop a cap in someone’s ass just because of your foolish thought process. I’m not saying there isn’t any crime and in some instances danger to the public out on the street from time to time, but if every ass hole who thought like you carried a gun instead of the proper authorities who by the way are trained to properly access potential trouble and still make mistakes, I guess you would like that better.

      • Wumingren

You don’t have to be armed to bring lethal force against another person, but if you insist that the attacker must be armed before he may be defeated with lethal force, then I will say that Trayvon Martin was armed. Yes, he was armed. He was armed with a strong pair of hands and a sidewalk into which he was smashing George Zimmerman’s head in an attempt to extract the man’s gray matter from his skull.

The fact that Trayvon was trying to kill George is enough to validate the use of lethal force. One need not consider any other aspect — not the size of the attacker, not the gender of the attacker, not the race of the attacker, not whether he was armed — no, there is no test but whether the attacker was attempting to maim or murder the victim. That is the sole justification for the use of lethal force.

If someone attempts to maim or murder me or my loved ones, I will use lethal force to stop them, and I will not be taking the law into my own hands, I will be taking my life and the lives of my loved ones into my own hands. Too bad for you if you don’t have the balls to keep yourself or your loved ones from being maimed or murdered.

    • Americanjoe

To Mr. Wilson and Butch, it must be great to live in a safe secure community, that is what Mr. Zimmerman wanted, but thugs like Martin aren’t happy with a welfare check, they have to steal other peoples property. Well some “other people” take offense to having their property stolen and to being bullied. Cops aren’t always there when needed and if the rules are based on the jungle, then arm yourself for survival in the jungle, a gun works well when attacked by a wild beast. Mr. Martin chose his fists and lost to that great advancement of civilazation, the gun. BTW, who said the cops were coming?

      • eddie47d

Trayvon Martin was not on welfare and his mother worked so you have him found guilty with unfounded and typical racist remarks.

      • PIlot

I am with you Joe! Some of these folks expect the gov. to take care of them under all circumstances. What a bunch of lemmings. Protect yourself, if you wait for the law to show up they could be looking at a corpse. I would have never have thought the U.S.would be so full of whiney, crying A-Holes as it is today.

      • Flashy

“I would have never have thought the U.S.would be so full of whiney, crying A-Holes as it is today.”

Pilot, i agree. wish they’d quit whining about the need to compensate for their lack of balls and have to carry a gun around everywhere because they have no frippin’ backbone…

    • Chester

Mr. Wilson, I do beg your pardon, sir, but there are a LOT of people who are not only qualified to carry concealed, but justified in doing so. Take any waitress working the three to eleven who has a nice long drive to get home after she leaves work and ask her if she would be better protected if law enforcement were the only ones to have legal guns, The same is true for a lot of gas station operators who are on duty all night long in areas where the police are nearly as hard to find as hens teeth. Do you let any ding-a-ling who can pick up a big stick carry out your night’s reciepts or force you to take him home with you so he can rape and/or kill you at his leisure? Or do you go through the paperwork and classes and get your own concealed carry permit and a nice piece of hardware that can save not only your life, but the lives of your children and family? Do a lot of thinking about all this before you take guns away from law abiding citizens.

      • http://Aol CommonSense4America

Why is it that when liberals/progressives don’t want something (guns), they don’t want you to have it either. When conservitives want something (guns), they buy them, but if you don’t want one, don’t buy one.

    • http://liberty Tony

      To Mr. Wilson:
Although i disagree with you when it comes to carrying a firearm; however, you’re definitely right about that pathetic self failure of Zimmerman. What needs to be cleared up here is that it isn’t the law that was bad. It was the individual, who did a bad thing to make all other responsible gun owners look bad. Thanks!!

    • castaway

You must be a dumb cop. My 2nd ammendment gives me the right to own, carry, and defend myself anywhere, anytime. The cop types have proven they cannot save your sorry ass in an attack on your life. All they can do is fill out a police report, and they will use every tool they have to pin it on someone, and it does not need to be the actual attacker/murder.

      • Flashy

castaway…that’s not accurate about the 2nd. nice try though spewing the standard line of gun totin’ NRA BS

      • Dennis48e

Flashy why don’t you enlighten us about the second amendment since you seem top know all there is to know about everything.

      • Buster the Anatolian

Well Flashy what do you say is the meaning of the 2nd Amendment.

While you are at it why don’t you address the FACT that the police are very rarely present when a crime is being committed. They show up after the fact and fill out reports then try to find someone to prosecute for the crime.

      • Flashy

Sigh…once again. the 2nd is not so people can pack around guns for what they prceive to be personal saftey reasons. the 2nd is to protect US from military or governmental takeover. Got it? The Founding Fathers (all of them) didn’t give two cents about personal protection by way of guns. They were concerned that what they just fought a Revolution for wasn’t going to occur again. There is NO Constitutional right to own a gun for personal safety reasons.

      • Bob Livingston

        Dear Flashy,

You write: “The Founding Fathers (all of them) didn’t give two cents about personal protection by way of guns.” Really?

“Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property… Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them.”–Thomas Paine

“Arms in the hands of citizens [may] be used at individual discretion for the defense of the country, the overthrow of tyranny, or in private self-defense …” –John Adams

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater … confidence than an armed man.” –Thomas Jefferson, quoting Cesare Beccaria in On Crimes and punishment (1764).

        Best wishes,

      • Buster the Anatolian

Well Flashy Mr Livingston has done a fine job of presenting an opposing position with supporting documentation where is your supporting documentation to “prove” your position?

      • Buster the Anatolian

Well Flashy I see you still have not addressed the FACT that the police are very rarely present when a crime is being committed. They show up after the fact and fill out reports then try to find someone to prosecute for the crime.

  • Butch

I’m no fan of shameless race-baiters like Sharpton, Jackson or MSNBC BUT…”poor George Zimmerman”???? If that idiot didn’t stalk then shoot some kid NONE of this crap would be happening. All he had to do was let the cops handle it, he was overzealous at best or salivating to shoot a “nig-ger” at worst. Zimmerman deserves NO sympathy. Just justice. At the very least he should get manslaughter.

    • Silicon Doc

So you actually think he called 911 then stalked and shot the “kid” because he’s a racist dying to do so ?
You’re clearly a few cards short.
With his nose broken and his head bouncing off the cement next to his escape vehicle which all reports have openly declared the night lurching trouble maker cornered him at before starting the beat down, he suddenly had “his plan” to carry out his “racist crime” come to fruition… ?
Let’s pretend Mr. Zimmerman was a cop. He couldn’t find the young man, he returned to his vehicle but before being able to enter it and leave, the perp popped up and started beating the officer on the ground. The officer drew his gun and fired, killing the young man.
Are you still calling it a stalking and race inspired murder ?
There’s a clearer view for you, which you desperately need.

  • peter

Thou shalt not kill! People in glass houses etc. etc. Obama and his cronies are responsible for the deaths of thousands so it is best he make peace with his God before he opens his mouth to judge, victimize and convict anymore. He is just as guilty as Zimmerman is of murder, he just doesn’t understand that. Humans have totally lost their way and no longer even begin to understand the difference between right and wrong and that includes the sanctimonious potus. Humanity has made so many laws it is incredible. The problem is that laws are only required for those few who need to be kept in line, but when so many choose to make a convenience of those laws in order to protect their own skin, the whole system becomes a joke, which is what humanity is – a huge joke, but is anybody laughing?
There remains no doubt that Zimmerman will be convicted so let the law take it’s course and leave it at that and rest assured that there are many more crises and disasters ahead, because that is what humans are best at, creating more and more mayhem as they go, until?????????????????are we all crazy? Just look around at what we have done to the planet and to one another and then make a decision. We actually hero worship humans who have caused more destruction than a 500km wide meteorite would do. If that is not stupid then I do not know what is.

      • 2¢ worth…

Fact is chief, had special forces failed in their attack, who then would you have blamed? It is always the leader who takes responsibility for both success and failure of an order and special forces awaited orders from their superior before attacking and before that superior could give that order, he had to have received the ‘go-ahead’ order from his superior which was most likely Obama (just to shorten the list).. So, responsibility wise.. Obama had gotten Bin Laden.

        • 2WarAbnVet

Yeah, I’ve heard it before. Obama made the “guttsy decision”, a decision that eighty percent of people picked at random from the phone book would have made.

      • Buster the Anatolian

2¢ worth… I have heard that obama did not make the decision to go after bin laden. I have heard it was Panetta that made the decision because obama wouldn’t make one he kept flip-flopping on the decision. Don’t know if that is true but i have heard it.

    • James

Peter Peter Jesus said” thou shalt not MURDER ” and he later defined murder as the killing of the innocent it is yet to be proved if travon was innocent or not of assault but the changes in story by the mother…. Presents a pattern of willingness to fabricate a story. Further Jesus said I gave you life and no man has the right to take another’s except for a very narrow yet broad clause he put in it states that we are to respect each other to such a high degree that we are not to so much as to even threaten one another for if one threatens the other the one threatened will have no choice and further if one bears witness to such threats they are not innocent either. GOD has a great deal to say about cowardice, fear is not of him are you trying to use GOD as an excuse for your cowardice mr Peter or are you evil or are you just another pathetic ignorant ass-clown?

Eddie, it sounds to me you would like every “Punk Gangbanger”, Like Trayvon, with a proven record, to carry a firearm.

      • http://Aol CommonSense4America

He was not old enough to buy a gun.

  • mark

Poor George Zimmermann? You’ve given away your egregious bias there, Ben. Why not let the courts and a jury adjudicate this matter. Last I checked poor George Zimmermann was still alive. Can’t say the same for the unarmed other guy.

  • Dave67

“Poor” Zimmerman???? Really??? What was Martin doing when Zimmerman called the police and was following him? Oh…. Thats right… Nothing.

Zimmerman is a scared little man and needs a gun so he could be judge and jury over a man’s life even after the police told Zimmerman to back off. Martin may of beat up Zimmerman but in no way did that deserve the death sentence and Zimmerman is not qualified to carry out such a sentence.

People like Zimmerman are scared little rabbits…. Then they are manipulated by people like the NRA to get guns for “protection” only more often than not, this is what happens and not the fending off of a bad person. We live in a country of scared people and the idea that guns are like toys. Then you put the idea that any dispute needs to be settled by violence and you have over 20K handgun murders each year.

Zimmerman belongs in jail… End of story.

Poor Zimmerman? HA! Poor Martin… he is the one who is dead.

    • Chester

Dave67, you are the first one to bring the NRA into this, and even YOU should have left them out. What happened here had nothing to do with NRA and all to do with two men and one man’s stupidity.

      • Dave67

Sorry Chester, the NRA are part of the problem. They use fear to gain members and insert boogeymen where none exist. They say you need a gun to protect yourselves from the gov that YOU elect. They went from a sensible organization to a “sky is failling” extremist organzation so Wayne La Pierre can have his lavish lifestyle.

        • 2WarAbnVet

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” – Thomas Jefferson

“… to disarm the people is the most effective way to enslave them…” – George Mason

“Arms in the hands of individual citizens may be used at individual discretion…in private self-defense.” – John Adams

“Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence.” – George Washington.

      • Dave67

Do you realize our Gov has WMD’s, Aircraft Carriers, Battletanks, Aircraft, Missiles etc?

Do you also realize you vote for your representatives?

Do you live in this much fear of gov everyday?

        • 2WarAbnVet

The “government ” has all these things, but the people who operate them, unlike politicians, actually meant it when they swore to defend the Constitution. They are unlikely to permit themselves to become the tools of oppression. Concerning your final sentence, I’ve noted that those least able to depend on logic are the first to cast aspersions.

      • Dave67

So you point is what? According to you, we need the guns to defend against tyranny from the gov yet the gov is part of “we the people” that we elect into office. Our military is a volunteer force so are you trying to equate the United States of America with countries like Saudi Arabia?

Again, why do you live in this much fear? You could be living such a better life if you did not.

        • 2WarAbnVet

I don’t “live in fear”, i’m armed and trained. I do dread for the future of my nation and the of my grandchildren if we do not turn from the Marxist/socialist agenda currently being permitted to take hold here.
Incidentally, I’ve spent several years in Saudi Arabia. You can safely walk the streets in any Saudi city.
I do wish you’d but out. I’m tired of being lectured to by someone who has done noting for his country or anyone else during his entire life.

      • Dave67

You know me so well don’t you? You have no clue who I am or what I have done. Just because you are armed and trained, that doesn’t mean you are “scared”.

Your post makes no sense… So Saudi Arabia is a societal model you like? Well… over there women know their places, they have a class system based on the nationalities of the guest workers and keep under control by religious dogma that by the way, advocates death to America and Israel.

I do have a question. Do you know what Marxism/Socialism is? By your statement, you clearly do not.

        • 2WarAbnVet

Yeah Dave, I do know you. You’re one of those self-important folks who thinks he knows enough to tell other people how to live.
you’re shotgunning bits in the hope (forlorn, I know) that something will hit. You want to tell me about Saudi Arabia as though I learned nothing about it when I lived there 1971-72, all of 1979, and 1990-91.
You want my take on political philosophy? I’ll put it in simple terms in the hope you might comprehend. Fascism/Nazism is characterized by private ownership of business and industry, with government control. Marxism/Communism is characterized by government control and ownership of business and industry. These two philosophies aren’t so different, and are basically first cousins, and – most importantly – they are of the Left. What we’re seeing with the current administration is a drive combining the two. Since it is something completely new, it’s fair to call it “Obamunism”.

      • Dave67

        Well 2Ware,

I am here to tell you do know nothing about me. Even less about communism. (Communism is the group, not the individual owning business and private) property. And if you are going to accuse Obama of communism, you have to back that up with actual facts. You have none….
I do not tell anyone how to live except my children, but I, like you can tell you what I agree or disagree with but its bad when I do it and ok when you do it.
So you saw its safe to walk down the streets at night in Saudi? Well great! When do you move? in Cuba, there are soldiers at every corner so not much crime there either… Is that the model we should strive for? Of course not.

        • 2WarAbnVet

Now you’re just rambling Dave, and going farther afield to do so. If you’re not a typical liberal sycophant you’re providing a good imitation. Arrogance and ignorance make a toxic combination

  • Patriot

There are numerous senseless killings every day without 1 mention in the media. The only reason this incident is getting this much media attention is because the ignorance of Sharpton, Jackson and the rest. Without knowing the facts they convicted this man, which is the epitome of bigotry because his name was Zimmerman and a black man was killed! Once they made insanely stupid comments, they now have to defend these comments & actions with even more idiocy. Since when does our President and others comment and focus on issues that they have no idea of the facts, has not our Commander in Chief learned his lesson? No, by now the people of this country know his game, he only comments when it feels it’s to his benefit, he is trying to promote social unrest and divide the law abiding citizens for his own means. Just remember in obamaland the “Ends always justifies the means”!

    • Flashy

the reason this situation is a national issue is to bring into the light the absolute stupidity and levels of danger the gun lobby has brought us to. Should someone be able to take the law into their own hands, be judge, jury and executioner…all without having to legitimize and answer for the action?

Should the public who aren’t physcotic and dangerously insecure have their Right to be safe and prtoected from a lunatic fringe who somehow thinks it is OK to be able to create a lawless land?

even in the Wild West days they weren’t so crazy to allow everyone to pack a gun and be law unto themselves.

      • Chester

Actually, Flashy, in the WIld West, if you had the money to buy it, you COULD carry a gun. In fact, carrying that gun may well keep you alive when that snake under the rock you are approaching makes it known he would rather be left alone, about three steps too late for you to change direction. Most people didn’t carry their long guns into town, although a good number of them were in saddle scabbards or under wagon seats. The one thing you did do was be polite to all you met and hope none of them decided it was time to use you for target practice.

      • castaway

Flashy how do you think we should be able to protect ourselves? With 911? Maybe you do not think we have a right to defend ourselves from these maniacs. The more blacks we have, the more crimes, and especially with the likes of Jackson, and Sharpton prompting, and grooming them to be violent. Get real man! You are an idiot, pure and simple.

      • Thor

‘Should someone be able to take the law into their own hands, be judge, jury and executioner…all without having to legitimize and answer for the action? ‘

Lessee, now…a crazed, rightwing religious zealot shows up at your house flashing his concealed carry permit and tells you he’s going to kill you and do terrible things to your family–try to convert them to Christianity, or something…and you, Flashman, are going to call the police, ask him to justify his actions…and, what, just hope for the best?

I think if you stay home, safe behind the anonymous keys of that keyboard, baiting conservatives–all in good fun, of course–with rhetoric and zero facts…well, you’ll be safe, Flashy. Come out of hiding and try to redistribute people’s property and take their inalienable rights away and I’d hate to have to predict your fate.

      • Flashy

“Lessee, now…a crazed, rightwing religious zealot shows up at your house flashing his concealed carry permit and tells you he’s going to kill you and do terrible things to your family–try to convert them to Christianity, or something…and you, Flashman, are going to call the police, ask him to justify his actions…and, what, just hope for the best?”

Naw…i’d invite ‘em in for a beer, and discuss the current events to where they get depressed and put themselves out of their misery … then i’d send the clean up bill to the widow who’s probably smiling and laughing having a good time ‘grieving” whilst spending the insurance money at a Club med somewhere…

      • Thor

Now you’re talking, Flashy…er…is that ‘Dreamy’?

    • mark

The end always justified the means in Bushland, too. Remember the lies to the American people about Sadaam’s nonexistent nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons to justify the illegal and immoral U.S. invasion of Iraq? Fears over 9/11 used by Cheney and Bush to push through the Patriot Act? No one party or set of political leaders has a monopoly on “never let a good crisis go to waste.” Exploiting such matters is as American as apple pie and exists all throughout our history. Look at the Cold War, the Yellow Peril, the “grave danger” of Catholic immigrants coming to our country in the 19th and early 20th century. America is the Republic of Fear. This has never changed and never will. We are among the most fearful and frightened people on earth, thanks in large part to our government and political demagogues. Hence our tendency to lash out irrationally and constantly slaughter innocent others ( i.e. the vast amount of the civilian dead in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, the Dominican Republic 1916-24, Haiti 1915-1934, Mexico 1914-1917, Cuba 1898-1934, the Philippines 1898-1914, Mexico 1846-1848 and on and on…..) Irrational fear is the lifeblood of America, that and a never-ending desire for greater and greater material weatlh. Hence Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, Jack Welch, Warren Buffet, etc. as the ultimate American heroes.

      • Chester

Yeah, we all know what Saddam didn’t have by the time we got there to search for them, but it is also common knowledge that he DID have and use chemical weapons not all that long before we went in. And, if he didn’t have anything, why was he so dead set against allowing anyone in to see that there was nothing there? Had he done that one simple thing, he could well still have been running the country.

  • Reflection

There are some key English words that describes the American people, based on its culture of “entitled to my own opinion”. I believe it’s Daniel Moynihan who said “everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not their own FACTS”. America is a culture of opinions in contrary to what are the facts/truth. The other thing lacking in the culture is everyone’s inability to discern the underpinning behind the issues. Poor Treyvon Martin and yes poor George Zimmerman are not the issue in these times. They are mere distraction to lead everyone from the reality of the changes that are happening daily to our world. When you read the comments on these posts it make me cringe because I know someone is out their analyzing and monitoring these responses and they are sitting back comfortable, knowing they are in control by the confusion of the masses.
Let’s look at some associated words and definition.

Confusion-a confused mass or mixture (a confusion of voices)

Unity-the quality or state of not being multiple (oneness/unification)

Selfish-concerned excessively with oneself; concentrating on one’s own advantage, pleasure or well being without regards for others…

Discern-to detect with senses other than vision, to recognize or separate mentally

I hope we can see where I’m going with this response because if we can’t then history has already repeated itself.

  • DavidL

A child was was killed! A child was killed! This should be the central focus of our attention. At the very least, we need a full examination of the incident and the man responsible to explain himself before our criminal justice system. Just because you say self-defense, doesn’t mean it was self-defense. Due process will find the truth. If he is acquitted, so be it. If he is found guilty, so be it.

    • Rafael

Children of more than 6 feet tall like Trevor, kill all the time in this country, yesterday two (thugs) children robbed and beat a pregnant lady in order to take money from a convenient store. This has been politicized and sentenced out of the court, which is wrong. Remember O.J. Simpson?

      • http://liberty Tony

        Hey Rafael:
That doesn’t excuse George Zimmerman!! Have a good day now.

    • jorind

“A child”? “A child”? how many “children” are found with stolen jewelry, kicked out of school several times, out at 2:00 AM on a rainy morning, being in excess of six (6) feet tall and weighing approximately 190 lbs? A “child” my butt! Is Zimmerman guilty or innocent as charged? I don’t know, I wasn’t there. Were you?

    • castaway

Yes sir, a Six foot, six inch, child with a police record was killed. As we speak, in Afghanistan, and Iraq, children are, and have been more deadly than most adults.

We don’t know what happened between Martin and Zimmerman, but don’t let that keep you from posting all your suppositions.

    • Dave67

What was Martin doing to deserve being fiollowed with the police on the cell phone?

      Say it with me… Nothing

  • Doug Rodrigues

So much focus on Zimmerman, and nothing mentioned about the Black on White violent crime ratio of 39 to 1. Will the “News” Media or Al Sharpton ever focus on the four Black thugs who beat, raped, and tortured a young White couple to death? NO. Will the “News” Media ever focus on the Black thug who raped, killed an 81 year old woman and nearly beat her old husband to death? NO. Will the “News” Media ever focus on the Black thugs who torched a 13 year old White boy with gasoline? NO. Along comes Zimmerman, whose investigation still hasn’t been released, and Zimmerman has already become the poster child of all that is wrong with White on Black crime. The question is, Why? Re-read that 39 to 1 ratio again of Whites being victimized by Blacks. Political Correctness is total BS!

    • http://liberty Tony

      To Mr. Rodrigues:
Oh really now!?! Well, can you answer this? What about the shootings in Tulsa, Ok. where two white guys gunned down 5 innocent black males. 3 died, 2 severely injured. That or the situation of Dreven White in Miss. That’s where he with 4 of his cronies with a pickup truck ran over a 49 yr old black garage mechanic James Graham. The drove over him three times to be exact. As they were saying , in baseball terms, three strikes and your out. Google, ” White Mississippi teen gets life sentences for death of garage mechanic.” This should open your eyes. Thanks!!

      • Wumingren

Well, Tony, the guy said the ratio of black on white crime is 39 to 1, so obviously there has to be some white on black crime. He didn’t say the ratio was 39 to 0 (which wouldn’t be a ratio in any event).

    • castaway

What about that five year old black boy, that drowned another younger sibling for crying too much in the bath tub? That incident was also swept under the rug.

  • Steve E

I can tell by these post that the court is going to have a hard time trying to assemble an unbiased jury. I can say that I do not know the facts in this case, and thus have no opinion in this case. However, I do not live in Florida, so they cannot select me to be on the jury.

  • john

Here is the foreseeable future..Zimmerman will be found guilty of some minor charge and get very little jail time..if any..and then the riots..murder and beatings of innocent people will commence just like in L.a> after the Rodney King incident..and it will be ok according to the media becuase it’s the letting out of frustrations from the black community.I’m fed up with the race card..the only ones that cry it are blacks..what more do they want? They got a halfy in the house..they get jobs and promotion based on affirmative action..and inlusiveness and diversity…whites get discriminated upon more than anyone..but we don’t cry about it..we work harder…poor George Zimmerman will never get a fair trial..the media already smeared and twisted this whole ugly event…the scary thing is that it can happen to any one of us.

  • B.K.

I’m really tired of this. Martin was not the fresh faced 13 year old in the picture we are shown every day. Zimmerman is not withour fault either. Both people made really bad choices. Zimmerman by not following the 911 operator and steping back. I think Zimmerman is no more than a macho cop wannabe. But Martin could have just walked away, he didn’t have to attack someone who was mouthing off to him. Both are at fault, unfortunately Martin is dead because partly his actions.

Now we have short of a race war because of it. We don’t get the stories of blacks attacking whites just because their white. And why is this a bigger story than all the black on black crime? More harm is done in that community by their own than by any white people going in and harming them. This is only a big deal because people like Sharpton, Jackson and the Panther want to use it to advance their race war mentality. For them it has always been a them against us mentality. When Jackson talks about walking with Dr. King I want to vomit. He does not nor ever has represented what Dr. King was trying to accomplish.

We need to stop this. Both men made really bad choices. Unfortunately Martin was killed but he was not an innocent. Now his mother says she believes it was an accident, bull. I want to know what her motive is for that statement. You don’t go on national TV and demand someone go to jail, and be glad when someone is arrested, if you think it’s an accident. This whole thing stinks and I think the people who have pushed it into a major media story need to go to jail because they have taken something that, while unfortunate and needs to be handled by the law, is in no way any more a major news story than any other indecent that receives a mention on the nightly news. We see every night someone has been killed but they don’t make the national news. Why? Because it’s black on black and not a black man killed by an non black. Nor is it a black on white which never makes the national news and is far more common.

Stop blaming the white community for all the problems in the black community. Their problems will never go away as long as they don’t take some responsibility for the conditions they live with. Slavery was over 200 years ago and as a black manager I had told me once, it’s up to the individual to make his/her life what they want. He said he never felt he had been judged by the color of his skin. Instead blame the Liberals who have kept the blacks believing that they need someone to take care of them because they can’t take care of themselves, or they are owed something. No blacks who live now are not owed anything because of slavery and it’s impossible to repay those who were treated so horribly in the past. But I am not responsible for what people did 200 years ago so I only owe you what the gospel requires and that is to help you improve your life but you are also responsible for doing something for yourself.

  • Bob

Time line: Zimmerman makes call. He is asked a few questions which he answers. He is told not to keep following the suspect. According to him , he complies and starts back to his vehicle. Travon comes up behind him and startles him. Travon asks why he is being followed. Before Zimmerman can answer, Travon hits him, breaking his nose and knocking him to the ground. Travon gets on top of him and starts pounding his head into the sidewalk causing Zimmerman to cry for help. Zimmerman, afraid for his life now pulls his gun and shoots his attacker. Police arrive and call paramedics who treat Zimmerman for lacerations to his head and a bloody nose. Zimmerman is taken to police office and gives his statement and is released.

    • focusedgrin

Video is released a few days later of Zimmerman being led into the jail building, with NO broken nose, and no blood on his head or face. Deal with the facts, people.

      • Silicon Doc

The officer checks the gash on the back of his head several times, appears to wipe sojme blood of his jacket, and you’re talking post EMT service at the site of the beating – after the stiptic pen stops the nose bleeding and he is cleaned up for processing.
The camera is very grainy and at a long distance so he could be scratched and quite damaged and you wouldn’t be able to see it.
Bruising from a fight like that does not show up for hours, sometimes overnight.
There’s a reason the police released him, and nothing happened, until the race baiters and moaning liars started their antics.

The last poll I saw on the topic, liberals accounted for 15% of the population. And isn’t this supposedly a conservative site? Yet, look back up and consider the postings. The majority of posts at this site are liberals, most of which are far left extremist lunatics. What gives? To my knowlege, I have never once gone to a liberal site and left a comment. In fact, I have NEVER visited a liberal site at all. I have zero to learn there. But these zealots and lunatics can come here and spend an entire day, refuting and annoying everyone. Again, what gives?

    • Chester

Well, MAP, just shows how dead set in your ways you are. Also, what makes you so sure that all those people you don’t agree with are liberals in any sense other than the fact that you don’t agree with what they have to say? How about getting a life instead of just living in your own tiny little garden and telling the rest of the world you have nothing for them.

    • Bert Cundle Sr.

No Chance in learning anything… If you can’t learn from a Liberal!

  • Earl, QUEENS, NY

After so much time, it sounds like this prosecutor is kowtowing to Trayvon’s family, and the likes of Al Sharpton. It kind of reminds me of the Rodney King case in Los Angeles 2 decades ago, in which a local resident taped the whole event with his new camcorder. But the lame stream media only showed the scene in which the cops were beating King. They omitted the scenes in which King became beligerent; violently resisting arrest. As a consequence, that was what determined public reaction and ensuing civil unrest. After the riots, the cowardly politicians out there decided to kowtow, and a few cops were wrongfully punished; possibly by double jeopardy. And sadly, it appears Zimmerman could face the same fate, even though it is a legal right to defend oneself (Who gives a **** what NYC Mayor Michael Bloomturd has to say on this??!!). We’ve already heard that Trayvon had attacked Zimmerman. As for this prosecutor, Al not-so-sharp Sharpton, et al, they should be thankful I’m not a cop. If I were, and one of these morons were on my beat and in danger, I’d surely be reluctant to use any needed deadly force against their assailants.

    Dear MAP:
It’s called freedom of speech and debate. That’s what true conservatives believe in. Therefore, if these” leftist loonies ” want to post here, we should let them. Remember the constitution of freedom of speech. Thanks!!

    • Bert Cundle Sr.

      Define Leftus?

      • Steve E

Leftist and Liberalism is a mental disorder.

    • MAP

Tony, I am in no way against freedom of speech. But I think what we have here are paid hecklers. Their sole purpose is to disrupt and annoy. If you are a conservative, how often do you visit liberal sites? Do you spend an entire day there to the annoyance of everyone? Chances are they would delete your comments, since the left is in total opposition to freedom of any kind. This is a conservative site, yet the majority of comments are, I believe, paid voices from the extreme left, a bare minority of the population. The conclusions I reach from this are very distrubing. Visiting this site is not a worthwhile and valuable experience. I don’t watch TV. I gave it up 30 years ago. I became sick of the leftist agenda that was always being pushed down my throat. I avoid liberal sites. I care nothing about the mental illness on display there. I have the freedom to boycott anything that I regard as distructive and unhealthy. I have the freedom to form my own opinion and boycott what I want. This not a conservative site. It is a whipping post for the most radical and subversive elements in our society. Very disturbing, indeed!

      • http://liberty Tony

        To MAP:
Although i understand your feelings; however, that’s seeing things in a limited way and closed minded in thinking. I, myself, do go to liberal websites from time to time to debate their bizarre views. You see alot of these “leftist” types are extremely closed mind in their approaches. Also, they’re uniformed in their views. That is everyone has to think like them or they’re subversive. What we need to do is let them have their say. Then, debate them in a civil manner. Let them play the fool’s part, not us. Most importantly, lets pratice what we preach about constitutional liberty. We all know, if they get full power, websites such as this will be outlawed. Therefore, we need to let the public see, who’s really against freedom. Thanks!!

  • http://liberty Tony

    Dear Map again:
I should say 1st amendment rights, let me not sound redundant. Thanks every so more.

  • Bert Cundle Sr.

I reserve my Opinion… Untill after a Civil trial Results are available! ( So… no opinion!)

    • jorind

dAre you infering there will be a civil trial after the criminal trial? Quite possibly so, if Zimmerman is found not guilty, or of a lesser charge.

  • Donald York

The blacks wont accept anything short of a conviction for George Zimmerman. Prosecutors will do what it takes to appease the racists like Sharpton, Maxine Wates, Sheila Jackson Lee Spike lee and others..
If the New black panther party gets out of line, i think they can be dealt with pretty handily by forces that will send them packing, i’m not talking about the DOJ either. The NBPP is moot.

    • Robert Smith

Posted: “If the New black panther party gets out of line, i think they can be dealt with pretty handily by forces that will send them packing, i’m not talking about the DOJ either. ”

Yup, you can send Ted Newgent, or maybe Michael F. Griffin, oops, he’s in jail. Maybe the Rev. Paul Jennings Hill… Oops, he was executed. I know, John Salvi, oops, he was killed by other prisoners.

Looks like it’s up to Ted so he can either be dead or in jail, just like the other extreme right wing shooters.

as i said before, how many murderers call into the authorities and give a play by play, along with their names and where to find them? also i mentioned, what was the time on the register receipt (if any) and what was the time of the shooting? maybe this kid was wandering around and doing a little checking out of the prospects. if he was walking purposefully toward home (in the rain) this mr zimmerman might not have paid attention to him. it’s a minor detail but should be verified. also the victim was calling for help. a bullet’s traveling 10 feet or so wouldn’t give much time for that, perhaps one tenth seconds. the victim would not be repeatedly calling out to some hopefully on the scene rescuer, but would instead be appealing to the guy with the gun. at least that’s what they do in hollywood produced crime dramas. they will have to convict mr zimmerman, unless they want another round of rodney king riots. i will admit that this trayvon even in the recent photo does not look like any criminal type. it is tragic if his motives were misunderstood. but it’s also tragic if a jet explodes on take-off. innocent people are always getting shmooked. look at the recent tornados.

  • KG

Anybody remember where they were 20 years ago? Rodney King? OK Mr Zimmerman might get barbequed by the state prosecutor, However, there will definitely be a civil rights trial.
Mr York, do you wash your Hood and Robe after you burn the crosses?

Racism, on the white side, is still the big problem. Just saying your a nice guy doesn’t hack it. We need to continue to “Get along” or face certain destruction.

    • Donald York

I despise the KKK and what they stand for. Not once did you hear me mention them. What i’m meerly pointing out (if you can grasp it ) is, the NBPP is about to open a can of worms by making threats against someone that has’nt had his day in court. Now, who is stoking the fires of hate. Oh wait…you must be a hardheaded, know it all liberal.

  • uvuvuv

the 911 dispatcher said, you don’t need to do that. was that a directive, however indirectly it was stated, or was it an advisory? the 911 guy could have meant, no need to follow him, sir, the police are on the way. thank you for alerting us.
there is enough ambiguity there where one could take it either way.

  • uvuvuv

kg, also 20 years ago there was rwanda. oh that’s real getting along. let’s send all our constitutional scholars to africa for a refresher on how civilization is supposed to work.

certain destruction? by whom? we will; be finished if we keep up this sobbing over a black thug. the only damage i can see, george may have eliminated a future nba star, he had all the makings. tall, beginning his crime career and prowling around homes at 2 in the morning..
the martin family will end up rich, george zimmerman will go to prison for trying to protect his own life (gracia’s eric holder) and the wimpy congress will pass more gun legislation.
sharpton and jackson will demand a holiday for martin, the bolsheviks will all wear hoodies in remembrance as they skip down the freeway singing “we have overcome”

  • PopsinAZ

It is interesting how many of you on one side are highly critical of those on the other side. Unfortunately, this is typical of life in the USA today.
What took place here is “the perfect storm.” ……….. A big, strong, cocky, black 17 year old man-child with an attitude, dressed like a gang member walking alone in a gated community at 2AM…………and, a self appointed wanna-be pseudo cop neighborhood watchdog who thought he was doing everyone a favor by watching out for criminals in the area.
Although Sharpton, the Black Panthers, and many others are intent on claiming this “shooting” was racist, it doesn’t even pass the “smell test.”
Trayvon Martin was in the wrong place at the wrong time and George Zimmerman was at the wrong place at the wrong time, too.
Hopefully, the TRUTH will surface and we will all be able to get on with our lives.

With satanic deception and compulsive hatred, race baiters stir and agitate the poor by chanting inequalities until they’re entitlements, then “stolen belongings” wrongfully possessed by the “affluent”! Repetition is conditioned learning that morphs from belief to deceived fact, then god given rights that mock God’s law! Because race baiters are “nobody” without poor people, baiters make sure poor people stay poor, have no opportunity, and remain in crime ridden hell-holes without protection! NO? – Name one significant real job-business created in an American ghetto in recent memory! They wrongfully gave trillions to global banks, enemy nations, and alien invaders!

Top race baiters (Jackson & Sharpton) have endless promises and delivery of imaginary rights to take other person’s freedom and property! They never provide skills or gumption to break the chains of poverty or dependence. Degradation moves from begging, to stealing, to demanding rights to “take”. Dependence is bondage, Independence is freedom.

Gauge the mob’s hate and anger! Race baiters hate Amendments 1, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 13sec1, & 14sec1! They crave bondage, not independence! “Murder… pursuer… aggressor”… mighty strong “knife” words echoed from communist progressives, race baiters, the few color obsessed “throw-back darkies” that poison congress, and the monopolist media. They’re too lazy and worthless to feed themselves. Self sufficiency and productivity are threats. AG Holder’s inaction grants defacto Constitutional immunity, while the president and legislature fiddle freedom away!

Government controlled media monopolies freely pass false witness and violate Civil Rights. Who would shriek “white man & killer” while pointing fingers at one with unmistakable South America “Hispanic” characteristics. They shriek “aggressor” at “Z” on the bottom being pounded at the will of the “T” on top! Obviously, “T” was in control acting to harm, not restrain “Z”; and “Z” was not in control and in grave danger! Self defense isn’t murder. Profoundly widespread disinformation pandered by the media, government, and mobs; with no “same magnitude” corrections or “probable cause” justifications by a grand jury, defines colossal miscarriage of justice! It proves a DA can violate Constitution and oath of office with impunity! Read Amendments 4 & 5! A government that abolishes its Constitution it is overthrown. That is treason!

It’s all about hatred – a thriving profitable industry of professional hate-mongers! Say “negro” or any slang derivations thereof, and idiots who truly believe they have a right to silence speech and kill if necessary, will attack! Hate-mongers continue inciting dictatorial speech control (hate crimes) into violence, because they are not held accountable for inciting mayhem! Volumes of venom are spewed without reason or facts. Raging hate exploding into a person’s face ended one life and forevermore tortures another! And here we are – the government and race baiters blaming their “surviving” victim!

We must restore the Constitution above all else! That requires removing and punishing all public officials who violate Constitution and oath of office… starting with the department of justice! Make it happen!

  • jhatwi

Most of the arguements posted here regarding the Zimmerman/Martin shooting come from the mentaly deficient who have failed miserably by choosing their emotions and the MSM as their main news source on the death of Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman has been charged with an overzealous 2nd degree murder and from everything I’ve read, heard and seen…it ain’t gonna happen. Perhaps the prosecution is hoping for a plead down to manslaughter…who knows. One thing is certain, it was necessary to charge Zimmerman with “something” to slow down the calls for a vigilante style public lynching by the race baiters, all.

Some idiots have the nerve to say that the 911 call voice analysis proves Zimmerman is guilty with a 99% probable…That’s pure baloney and a lie!

Using sophisticated voice match software, Tom Owen, forensic consultant for Owen Forensic Services LLC and chair emeritus for the American Board of Recorded Evidence, told the Sentinel that there was only a 48% chance that it was Zimmerman crying for help on the tape. That means there is a 52% chance it wasn’t Zimmerman…far from damning evidence in a court of law.
Consider that there was no voice samples to compare the screams on the tape to Martins…again, far from damning evidence in a court of law.

Consider that a great percentage commenting here have not even read the Sanford, Fl. police report: “Trayvon Martin police report reveals Zimmerman was ‘bleeding from the nose and back of head”.

According to the report, Sanford police spent more than seven hours at the scene. They interviewed six witnesses, whose names were redacted from the report. The first to arrive was officer Timothy Smith. From Smith’s report:

“While I was in such close contact with Zimmerman, I could observe that his back appeared to be wet and was covered in grass, as if he had been laying on his back on the ground. Zimmerman was also bleeding from the nose and back of his head.”

“Zimmerman was placed in the rear of my police vehicle and was given first aid by the SFD. While the SF was attending to Zimmerman, I overheard him state, ‘I was yelling for someone to help me, but no one would help me.’ At no point did I question Zimmerman about the incident that had taken place.”

Other have misreported that there were “NO” injuries to Zimmerman and he did not recieve any medical attention on the scene and that he was not taken into custody by the Sanford PD. Quite the contrary.

The Trayvon Martin case has exposed the worst in media.

Don’t allow the media to use you and allow justice to take it’s course, as it should. If Zimmerman is guilty, he’ll be punished in a court of law, as he should. Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, not guilty and hung by a media trial.

For those interested in he facts, here is a link to the initial Sanford police report.

    • JeffH

The Trayvon Martin case has exposed some of the media’s worst tendencies–selective editing, rushing to judgment, stoking anger for ratings and page views–and it’s taken more than fake photos, the incendiary stumbles of Geraldo Rivera and Spike Lee and verbal clashes between Piers Morgan and Toure to shine a light on them.

Here are three recent, troubling examples:

  • uvuvuv

a gated community, why, because of the crime in the area? maybe that’s why they had neighborhood watch volunteers? they wouldn’t have or need them if there wasn’t a history of break-ins. this isn’t shenandoah ridge estates. in a high crime area you have to assume everyone is a suspect. even an innocuous visit to a store can put you in the wrong place at the wrong time, because of the general attitude of suspicion. perhaps this mr zimmerman was following the wrong guy, but where was his teleprompter telling him that? he could only go on what he was seeing, and it didn’t look right to him. so he did what any of us would do, he pulled out his gun and started shooting. wrong! by following this guy he was letting him know, we’re on to you, don’t get any ideas. that was his only intention. he never would have made contact with authorities otherwise.

    • Robert Smith

Question asked: “but where was his teleprompter telling him that? ”

The “teleprompter” was the dispatcher. Zimmerman had no need to stalk another.

  • 45caliber

The prosecutor has decided to press charges but has refused to go to a grand jury … which is the normal procedure. The reason? The grand jury would be likely to release him … and the government wants him tried and found guilty to satisfy the black population who have been stirred up by the media. It doesn’t matter to any of them what the evidence might show or whether he is guilty or not. Just throw him to the (lions) to keep the crowd happy.

    • old hillbilly

All of which are direct unmistakable Constitutional violations that will not stop until violators are prosecuted, punished, and dishonorably removed from office! There will be no justice until oath of office has honor, meaning, and deliberate consequence.

Jackson and Sharpton will continure creating mayhem until they are stopped by law and truth.

    • Robert Smith

45 says: “Just throw him to the (lions) to keep the crowd happy.”

Or let Zimmerman go without any questions of the evidence or his past record. Remember, he was dismissed from his job because of his temper? Assault on the police, restraining orders…

Yuup, let ‘em go so the white guys like 45 don’t get all in a dither and have to explain how it was obviously the kid screaming for his life and not Zimmerman as he claimed. (well, 99% chance Zimmerman was lyin about that)

Bay area lawyers examine the challenges of George Zimmerman’s case. All of the lawyers interviewed found manslaughter more plausible considering what they do know, and adding a caveat that there are things they do not know. If Zimmerman disregarded the 911 operator and pursued Trayvon anyway, armed, a prosecutor could argue that was negligent.

“I don’t see any defense theory in which Zimmerman is the attacker and can prevail,” attorney Eddie Suarez said. “If Trayvon overreacted to Zimmerman’s following him, and punched him and threw him to the ground, to the point Zimmerman felt in danger, then I think Zimmerman wins.”

    • ozzie Renwick

George , is Guilty until proven innocent by a court of Law.Listen to the Tapes , He was told don’t pursue Trevon ,he took on himself and commited a crime ,he should do the Time.

  • ramirez

I bet if it was the other way around you all would be saying Trayvon Martin (the juvenile delinquent, pot smoker, burglar, kicked out of school; shouldnt be there in that gated community anyway but jumped the fence to enter and was looking to break into a house or car for his drug addiction) was the shooter he would be innocent just getting rid of another hispanic, the black guy would be the victim again like always they do nothing wrong. This kid was up to no good and was looking for trouble he went after Zimmerman because he is ghetto and a hoodlum and that is all he knows his texting brought that up stayed in trouble and got into fights thought since he was 6ft 3in he was invincible but thats what happens when you bring your fist to a gun fight.Paul Z is innocent but will be found guilty because he is hispanic and killed a black thug and you cant do that unless you are black yourself!

    • old hillbilly

Great black/spanish coalition isn’t it. Jessie & Al says, if it ain’t black, it’s white… and white’s never right, unless they’re making a donation or we’re done through fishin’ in their pocket

Reminds me of an old hippie song about a girl who saved & nourished a half frozen starving snake – saved it’s life & the damn thing bit & killed her. wish I could remember the name of it… Finding justice is like relying on harry, nancy, and a few others uttering a coherent sentence at a pot party.

Unfortunately, Mr. Z is a citizen being scourged by soiled hands within government

Revive the Constitution & we can all forget color because truth will set everyone free!

Anyone doubting the hypocrisy of liberals should consider the following:

    * Execution of a convicted killer is cruel, unusual & barbaric; whereas a woman’s right to
    abort the life of an innocent child is inalienable;

    * Starving a helpless victim like Terri Schaivo to death is acceptable; but using lethal injection to end the life of a brutal killer is not;

    * Discrimination based on race or gender is wrong. Except when waged against Caucasian men, in which case it is mandated by law & called Affirmative Action;

    * Invading a foreign nation is wrong, except when aliens from Mexico invade America;

    * Democrats are the only hope for American families and labor. However, liberals support the influx of millions of illegal aliens who work for lower wages and without benefits, thereby driving down the standard of living for American citizens;

    * Outsourcing of American jobs offshore is driven by immoral corporate greed. By contrast, open borders and amnesty are acceptable because the majority of illegal aliens are future Democrats;

    * Huge profits are obscene and un-American, except when enjoyed by George Soros, Oprah Winfrey, and other liberals;

    * Conservatives who seek to preserve American culture are bigoted hate mongers, whereas new immigrants must be allowed to maintain and celebrate their cultural heritage at all costs;

    * Burning Old Glory is protected free speech, whereas expression of conservative values by people like Rush Limbaugh is unacceptable hate speech;

    * Freedom of speech must never be quashed, except for criticism directed at minorities and other constituencies of the Democrat party;

    * Tax cuts are wrong when returned to people who actually paid taxes, but perfectly fine when sent to those who paid none;

    * Skyrocketing gasoline prices devastate working American families, but protecting wild life is a greater priority;

    * Anyone who supports English as the official American language is a racist. But those who prefer Spanish and other foreign languages are justified because “diversity is our greatest strength;”

    * Blocking the sale of port security to UAE was necessary to protect homeland security, but securing the border with Mexico is wrong because it would “scapegoat” Hispanics;

    * Illegal aliens should be licensed to drive–to avoid breaking the law by driving illegally;

    * Symbols of Christianity must be kept out of public view so as to offend no one, whereas Islam must be openly promoted in the name of religious awareness and tolerance;

    * Businesses are oppressive institutions that must not be allowed to become too large and powerful. By contrast, government creates wealth & happiness and should be expanded whenever possible;

    * Military force must never be used, except when needed to advance interests not vital to the United States, or to obscure a Democrat president’s sexual misconduct in the Oval Office.

Think about it– Are you enough of a hypocrite to be a liberal?

    • old hillbilly

      amen to that

    • Robert Smith

      Guess I ain’t a “liberal.”

Jay claims: “Execution of a convicted killer is cruel, unusual & barbaric;”

So? Society has a right, even a responsibility, to protect itself just as any individual has. If deadly force is handy to keep a perp from doing it again… He’s gone in my book.

About freedom in America: “whereas a woman’s right to
abort the life of an innocent child is inalienable”

Not everyone believes it’a a baby, and it it is what gives any individual to take from another without permission? Ohhhh, I get it you are gonna try to say that because she had sex it was “permission.” It was no more permission than if you have a house guest who decides to stay beyond their invitation.

Oh, this is a good one: “Starving a helpless victim like Terri Schaivo to death is acceptable;”

The autoposy proved without a doubt that Terri Schaivo hardly had two neurons to rub together to form a thought. She was brain dead long before her demise.

Here we go aain: “but using lethal injection to end the life of a brutal killer is not;”

Like I said, sometimes it’s OK to kill a criminal.

From Jay: “Discrimination based on race or gender is wrong.”

      Absolutely wrong.

More from Jay…: “Except when waged against Caucasian men, in which case it is mandated by law & called Affirmative Action;”

What about “absolutely wrong” don’t you get Jay?

Here goes Jay again: “Invading a foreign nation is wrong, except when aliens from Mexico invade America;”

Nope. We need to secure our borders and resolve the issues of those who are here. Reagan did it with amnesty. I don’t think I’d go to that extreme.

“Democrats are the only hope for American families and labor.”

Actually I’m a Goldwater Republican. The party left me.

“However, liberals support the influx of millions of illegal aliens who work for lower wages and without benefits, thereby driving down the standard of living for American citizens;”

Actually it’s BUSINESS that hires illegal aliens, not generally liberal democrats. THEY are the ones who have an interest in keeping wages low.

Another bogus claim from Jay: “Outsourcing of American jobs offshore is driven by immoral corporate greed.”

There you go! It is corporate greed that is draining American jobs.

And then Jay turns again… How can one individual be so wrong: “By contrast, open borders and amnesty are acceptable because the majority of illegal aliens are future Democrats;”

Open borders are NOT acceptable. And, remember, it was Reagan who gave ‘em amnesty.

“Huge profits are obscene and un-American, except when enjoyed by George Soros, Oprah Winfrey, and other liberals;”

I don’t know about George Soros because I don’t know much about him but Oprah EARNED her money through entertainment, etc. Don’t you think Opera should pay her fair share of taxes? I do.

Jay says: “Conservatives who seek to preserve American culture are bigoted hate mongers,”

“whereas new immigrants must be allowed to maintain and celebrate their cultural heritage at all costs;”

Certainly not at “all costs” but I have no problem with culteral celebrations. The christians do christmas, the Jews do Hanukkah, and others do other things. I’ve been to both hand fastings and marriages. I’ve seen brooms jumped and glasses crushed. That’s what America is about.

“Burning Old Glory is protected free speech, whereas expression of conservative values by people like Rush Limbaugh is unacceptable hate speech;”

Rush is a hate omnger. If that makes me liberal all by itself then you can call me one.

I’ve skipped some… Jay goes on and on.

“Skyrocketing gasoline prices devastate working American families,”

And it is caused by SPECULATORS.

“but protecting wild life is a greater priority;”

No Jay, absolutely false. I see the speculators manipulating the energy market as stealing. It has nothing to do with wildlife.

“Anyone who supports English as the official American language is a racist.”

Guess I’m a racist because America should only have one language of business.

“But those who prefer Spanish and other foreign languages are justified because “diversity is our greatest strength;”

      That’s just a diaper load.

“Blocking the sale of port security to UAE was necessary to protect homeland security,”

Duh???? Selling our security to Aribs… How can you justify that?

“but securing the border with Mexico is wrong because it would “scapegoat” Hispanics;”

As mentioned earlier, we need to secure our borders.

And the rest of jay’s garbage is just taking too long.

      - Private ownership of guns is the single greatest symbol of individual power, and therefore is generally despised by most Liberals.
      - In the Liberal mind, your freedom is their oppression.
      - The Liberal seeks to replace a moral world-view with an emotional world-view.

      • Dave67

        So Jeff,

Where do you get this nonsense?

      • Jay

You know them so well, Jeff. Liberals believe that outlawing guns will make the streets of this country safer. No guns, no gun violence, right? Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. Handguns have been banned from the UK for over a decade now, and that country has seen its violent crime rate climb every year since, until it has now surpassed the U.S.
        in per capita violent crime.

In the meantime, we have witnessed a liberalization of gun laws here at home, with nearly every state allowing lawful citizens to right to own—and often carry—handguns. And what has happened to the crime rate here? It has dropped precipitously. Not only that, but the book The Bias Against Guns shows quite clearly that there is a direct and powerful correlation between legal gun ownership and lower crime rates. Again, counter-intuitive but true.

      • JeffH

Dave67, from comments like your earlier one! Read it and weep…nuff said!
Dave67 says “Poor” Zimmerman????

        • RichE

Are you for or against gun control?

      • JeffH

…and this comment by Dave67…”Sorry Chester, the NRA are part of the problem. They use fear to gain members and insert boogeymen where none exist. They say you need a gun to protect yourselves from the gov that YOU elect. They went from a sensible organization to a “sky is failling” extremist organzation so Wayne La Pierre can have his lavish lifestyle”

A lot of whining by you Dave67 but not one iota of facts to support your paranoid

      • JeffH

        err…”paranoid schizophrenia”!

      • Dave67

Where in anything I said says “get rid of guns”? I am talking about societal attitudes towards guns and violence that needs to change. Canada has more guns per capita than the US and a fraction of the gun violence. Why?

The gun nuts don’t want to explore that question because they buy what the fear merchants sell them hook, line and sinker…..

      • Dave67

        And JeffH,

All you have to do is listen to that loudmouth LaPierre and he says all sorts of nonsense like “Obama is the enemy of the 2nd Amendment”. They only thing Obama has done when it comes to guns is pass a law allowing guns on public lands.

It is the gun nut side that has so few facts but tons of rhetoric.

      • JeffH

Dave67, as I said…paranoid schitzophrenia. Can you support anything you’ve said…about the NRA or LaPierre with facts?

NO! But it sounds good to you paranoid gun grabbing schitzophrenics…LMAO at you!

      • JeffH

RichE, there only one type of gun control I feel is appropriate.
Hit what you’re aiming at! Other than that, gun control does nothing but put restrictive burdens on law abiding citizens and does nothing to address the criminal use and aquisition of guns.

There are more than enough ciminal laws that address violence at any level with any type of weapon. Gun control laws do absolutley nothing to control criminal use of guns but they do a good job of making law abiding gun owners into criminals. IT’s a proven fact!

If gun control as a public policy worked at all, we would have lower rates of crimes with guns than in 1968. But, we do not. I think forty years is enough time to prove the theory of “gun control” just doesn’t work. As a public policy, it is a failure.

None of these restrictive laws, which now number over 20,000 laws nationwide, have shown, either individually or collectively, any significant impact on crimes committed against people or even crimes committed with guns in general.

The efforts at gun control do not address the real problem of crime.

The simple definition of a criminal is someone who does not
obey the law. The simple definition of a law-abiding citizen is someone who does obey the law. Therefore, if we pass laws restricting ownership of firearms, which category of people does it affect? The simple answer is that gun control laws affect law-abiding citizens only. By their very nature, the criminals will continue to violate these new laws, they will continue to carry their firearms, and they will find their efforts at crime much easier when they know that their victims will be unarmed.

      • JeffH

Despite increases in gun sales, gun crimes continued to decrease in the United States for the fourth straight year in 2010, according to the FBI.

The FBI recently released its Crime in The United States statistics for 2010. Overall, murders in the U.S. have decreased steadily since 2006, dropping from 15,087 to 12,996. Firearms murders — which made up 67 percent of all murders in the U.S. in 2010 — have followed this trend, decreasing by 14 percent.

The top three states for gun murders in 2010 were, in order, California, Texas and New York. While Texas has lax gun control laws, California and New York are among the strictest gun-control states in the country.

According to FBI data, California had the most gun murders last year —- 1,257, which is 69 percent of all murders in 2010.

Nevertheless, California gun murders are still down by 8 percent from the previous year.

      • Jay

Dave67 says: They only thing Obama has done when it comes to guns is pass a law allowing guns on public lands.

After taking office, Barack Hussein Obama began a coordinated effort with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to control the purchases and
ownership of guns in the United States. To justify the implementation of tougher gun control laws and in a direct assault on the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, this administration cited a statement made to Congress by William Hoover, Assistant Director for Field Operations for the BATFE on February 7, 2008. According to that report, 90 percent of the weapons used by the Mexican drug cartels were purchased from or originated from the U.S.

That stunning revelation empowered the Obama administration to solicit public support for banning so-called assault weapons in the U.S., and calling for tougher gun control laws. The problem, however, is that the 2008 statement is disingenuous at best.

First and perhaps most transparent, it has been noted that only 1 in 5 guns that have been recovered in Mexico actually underwent any form of tracing, leaving 80% untraced. Accordingly, the 90 percent figure is already factually inaccurate.

Secondly and perhaps the most scandalous of all is that all figures cited by this administration pertaining to weapons tracing include weapons sold to the Mexican military via U.S. arms-trading policies under programs such as Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) initiatives. The fact is that the bulk of the arms used by the Mexican drug cartels did not – and do not originate from gun shop sales in the U.S., but from U.S. government sponsored programs that sell weapons and ammunition to the Mexican military as well as other third-world nations.

Many of the weapons used in Mexico and counted in border violence statistics actually arrived in that area from Central American countries involved in U.S. government sanctioned programs administered by the Pentagon and with the knowledge and imprimatur of the U.S. State Department.

Interestingly, confirmation of the government’s programs and knowledge by government officials, particularly Hillary Clinton, was made public by the recent release of State Department cables published by Wikileaks. The cables prove that the U.S. State Department and Hillary Clinton knew the origins of the bulk of the weapons used by the Mexican drug cartels, although kept this information secret for the greater agenda of U.S. gun control.

Meanwhile, it appears that the Obama administration via Eric Holder, used various weapons tracking programs already implemented to inflate the statistics involving guns originating in the U.S. to advance even tougher gun control measures.

Research and investigation indicates that a series of programs implemented under the umbrella of a government sanctioned program known as “Project Gunrunner” were purposely exploited with the knowledge and consent of government officials at the highest of levels.

GOD BLESS GEORGE ZIMMERMAN FOR TAKING THE ACTION TO PROTECT HIMSELF FROM A THUG. I would have done the same thing if someone attacked me. I f more people learned to prottect themselves, criminals better think twice about thier actions, that could leave them dead. WARNING TO ATTACKERS WE WILL FIGHT BACK.

    • Neil Swan

You sound like your against abortion, but it’s alright to kill a person whether they have a gun or not.

      • Richard Liberi

Yes Neil it is ok to kill a criminal. How do you determine whether they armed or not. The atacker got what he deserved for the attack. Shoot first save your own life. Too bad for the criminals.

      • Jay

Neil says: You sound like your against abortion, but it’s alright to kill a person whether they have a gun or not.

And you sound like you are against the right for people to defend themselves, perhaps that is why you love abortion; killing defencles, innocent babies!

    • Jay

Well said, Richard. I have owned guns for decades. On rare occasions, I have had to “show” one of my guns to people with bad intentions. Not surprisingly, they changed their plans to take my money and do me some harm.

If this women had a gun, she might be alive right now! Lets See how the savages react to this story out tonight!

“Updated 04/17/2012 at 10:20 p.m. ET: A newborn abducted in the parking lot of a pediatric clinic Tuesday has been found safe, the Houston Chronicle reported. His mother was shot dead during an altercation with a woman who then snatched the child and drove off with him.
Police have detained a person of interest.
The mother, Kala Marie Golden, 28, of Spring, Tex., had taken her 3-day-old son, Keegan Schuchardt to the clinic for a checkup, authorities told the Chronicle.
The Chronicle reported that Golden was getting into her red pickup truck when she and another woman, wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans, started to argue. The woman then pulled a gun and repeatedly shot Golden, who cried out, “My baby, my baby.”
The shooter placed the baby in her car as Golden lurched forward, trying to grab back her child. The shooter was described as thin, in her late 20s or early 30s, African American and with gold-colored hair.

A man was in the passenger’s seat, witnesses told reporters.
The car, a light green or sky blue Lexus with blood stains, knocked down Golden as it drove off, the Associated Press reported. Golden was transported to a hospital where she died of her wounds, the Chronicle reported.
Baby Keegan, who is white with brown hair, wore a green-and-white onesie with the word, “handsome,” the AP reported.”

Just about the same time people see through Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage…

Oh wait! There is a glimmer of light. Rush has lost advertisers who don’t want to support his hate.

The stand your ground law has nothing to do with this incident. If the left’s manufacturing of evidence is true, Zimmerman isn’t protected under stand your ground. If Martin was on top of Zimmerman, self defense covers it, as you can’t retreat.

Just now read your column, and you sound almost as disgusted as I am at this circus spectical. It serves no positive purpose, but onlly devides the people of this coountry when we should be comming togieher to solve our national, state and local problems in a constructive manner. Or is that what the elites intend? Devide and conquer?
