The Public Debt

April 28, 2011 by

It seems no one in and around Washington, D.C. — not President Barack Obama, not Congressional Democrats, not Congressional Republicans — is willing to tackle the overriding issue dragging down the United States: Federal spending.

Republicans talk about cutting pennies from the growth of government, and Democrats and their sycophantic media label the cuts as extreme. Republicans aren’t even talking about cutting government back to 2008 levels, yet the media talking heads and Democratic leaders become apoplectic when they discuss the Republican budget proposal.

In 2008, the Federal government spent almost $1 trillion less than Obama proposes to spend in his 2012 budget. Obama says his spending is necessary to ensure the operation of the country. Yet government functioned in 2008 on less money. There were no calamities, no catastrophes, no starving masses.

In the past four years, the so-called Federal debt has grown from $9.985 trillion to $14.3 trillion. But the elected elites, Democrat and Republican alike, are unable to even adequately address the deficit — the difference between revenues and expenditures — much less the debt.

President George Washington once said, “No pecuniary consideration is more urgent than the regular redemption and discharge of the public debt.”

That was true in the 18th century. It’s true today. We need to find some statesmen who believe it.

The mass of idiots in the electorate keep electing more idiots so the welfare state can continue to grow until fiscal collapse. (But they will feel good about themselves until the total collapse of the economy occurs.)

Only the courts can stop the unconstitutional government welfare and subsities. It seems tha the courts are part of the elite idiots

Not true. The States could if only the people would focus on sending liberty-minded people into their State congresses. The REAL power lies with the States and their people. We have only forgotten this. But the constitution clearly spells it out.

Only 37% of our colonial founders were actually engaged + committed to Independence + WILLING to dedicate + if necessary give their lives . This with facing the worlds super power who’s kingdom the sun never set on. IS THAT A BIG DEAL OR WHAT. Yet today we only face morally compromised “TORY’S”, community organizers, bureaucratic parasites, fools that love Lies, and non productive “Pseudo Citizens”: as well as the misguided spectators watching “the show”. No bullets, bayonets, bombs, rockets, or prison ships to starve in this time. However, our Founders gave us a 2 – 4 + 6 year “revolution” at the voting booth for each of us to be counted. This war is a fight for the hearts + minds of just those who would believe with their vote to prove a majority!! The ” opponents ” are committed Tory’s only in the 20% range. WHO ARE -U- TODAY + WHO’S WILL THAT MAKE -U- IN THE END??

Politicians are bought and the stripes turn colors when they are elected. We seem to have been on a downward spiral since the famous “read my lips no new taxes” blunder.

Perhaps these remedies may help; Elections should only be funded from the states in which they are run(billionaires can be stopped from buying our elections),Lobbying groups should be outlawed(they seem to be the Washington home of failed politicians),Government should not have a debt ceiling(cut up that credit card, get serious).
Where are our leaders when we need them most, talk is cheap.
