The Prodigal Bubba Returns

December 14, 2010 by

The Prodigal Bubba Returns

(The Oval Office — Thursday, December 9):

“Hey Bill, it’s Barack. Barack… Obama. Yeah, I think Michelle looks great in the stretchy pants, too. Seriously — you’ve probably noticed I make George W. Bush look like a Rhodes Scholar, and Mr. Soros mentioned YOU were a Rhodes Scholar. If you’re not too busy, do you think you could drop by the White House and, um… do my job?”

Last Friday President Obama, facing shrieking indignation from his fellow liberals over his decision to accept the GOP’s tax-rate extension, decided to remind everyone that he is farther out of his depth than a quadriplegic in Loch Ness. Obama called a press conference — on such short notice that he had to ask his spokesmodel Robert Gibbs to find someone to unlock the White House briefing room. The most inept president in American history was going to acknowledge that he and his party had driven the economy into a ditch, and the GOP was going to drive for a while.

Actually, Obama was simply going to act as if the tax policies he’d repeatedly opposed had suddenly been his plan all along. To pull off this latest charade, Obama called in some heavy artillery: Former President Bill Clinton, who is infamous for his ability to dig in against conservative ideals, then take credit for them with a methodical mendacity he calls “triangulation.” And Obama lacks Willie’s slickness, so he invited Clinton to share some tips on how to win votes and influence reporters.

Although he looked about as happy as a vegan in an abattoir, Obama claimed he was pleased with the tax-rate deal:

“The opportunity for families to send their kids to college hinges on this… The ability of parents to put food on the table while looking for a job depends on this…”

That’s a rather abrupt about-face from earlier in the week, when Obama called the Republicans “hostage-takers” over the same compromise.

And then, while Clinton loomed over Obama’s shoulder, looking very much like a disappointed parent, the scene took a turn for the weird as Obama… quit. The President (the actual one) took a powder. Claiming he had to go pound white wine spritzers with the Lady Macbeth of Chicago, Barry hit the bricks, leaving Monica’s ex-boyfriend to… run the country?

Did I miss a memo? While I’m well aware that the Democrat Party has been dealing with some fairly serious intramural dissent of late (and let’s watch the language, people — you’re on television), I was unaware that America’s worst President gave America’s creepiest President the keys to the Lincoln Bedroom.

Clinton, of course, was masterful. The man who spent eight years playing the White House press corps the way Van Cliburn played a Steinway looked as if he’d never left. If you closed your eyes, you would have thought Clinton — musing on everything from the environment to Haiti — was, well, President. Few in the room, including a number of Obama staffers who were evidently abandoned to their fates by their suddenly absent savior, batted an eye at Clinton’s endorsement of the tax-rate compromise against which both he and Obama have vociferously railed. Even fewer noted that Clinton was convincingly pontificating in support of tax rates he has openly, albeit intermittently, opposed throughout his entire career, mostly because we “wouldn’t spend them right.”

In a tableau which only Slick Willy could provide, he was now for the tax rates, after he was against them, after he was for them, after he was against them.

If he had stuck around, Obama would have called the Friday presser a “teachable moment.” Faced with a resurgent Republican House, an economy capable of fiscal super-speed reduced by Democrat policies to idling in the driveway and erstwhile allies who were now describing him in terms normally used by Tourette’s-afflicted schizophrenics, Obama abdicated.

Barack Obama’s 2008 Presidential campaign was noteworthy for a comprehensive dearth of substance. Criticism was squashed with laughable claims of racism. The former community organizer from Chicago displayed neither the expertise nor the résumé for the position. Serious, and seriously reasonable, questions about his ability were swept under the rug of liberal lust for power. Suffice it to say, the subsequent years of epic, ham-fisted incompetence have been a little… strange.

But nothing could have prepared us for last Friday afternoon, when the President of the United States, winner of a Nobel Peace Prize, Community Organizer to the Stars and architect of the Audacity of Hope, faced with yet another tight spot of his own making, ran and hid behind his big buddy Bubba.

C_H_A_O_S, Chaos in the White House…Chaos in the Democratic Party…Slick Willy’s vise like grip on the microphone was so strong that King Kong couldn’t have pulled his mitts off without ripping his arms out of their sockets. Barnum and Bailey couldn’t have put on a better show. Schumer, Reid and Pelosi are huddles in tent planning a side show to top all side shows. A classic case of the patients running the asylum…er…this government. Obamy just can’t please anybody anymore…even George Soros is pretty disgusted with him. Remember, Soros dumped Hillary for Obama and I bet he and his partners in crime are already planning their next coup…minus one community organizer.
Before I forget, just a reminder to all the Republicans in DC…you’re on notice too, so don’t get too comfortable in your posh new diggs. We got our eyes on ya…all of ya!

      BULLSEYE ….GREAT COMMENT

      • FreedomFighter

Had enough of the Progressive/Socialist Commi “sinistra” yet?

        Laus Deo
        Semper Fi

    • Teresa

Ha Ha Ha, very nicely quoted. Although if not so comical it is sad that our government has turned into such a circus for the world to see and our citizens to pay the ultimate price for. For God and Country always!

    • Carol

You took the words right out of my mouth to think Barry Soetoro (Obama) walked away from his job because his wife was waiting for him now I know who really wears the pants in the family and in the White House.

      • Karolyn

        How sexist of you.

        • JeffH

Such an innocent little prude are’t we?

        • marvin

          Karolyn
sex has nothing to do with stuped well mabe it this case, somebody got to have some cohonas and odumbo has none who better then old cigar bill, lie cheat and steal, sorry that was words to a song, this whole liberal agenda,is like a broke record, mabe obama need to do like bill did and spread his endowment around, just being obtrusive,we the voter sent the liberals a stop action clause in nov and a lot have not got the message yeat, they are still under the impression they can do as they want,if your boss said stop don,t do that,or your history, best advice i can give is STOP don,t double down

          • Denniso

Obama makes Shrub look like a Rhodes scholar???? That comment is all you need to read to know how far removed Mr. Crystal is from reality! Shrub actually makes the 3 stooges look like rocket scientists and no one will ever make Shrub look good after the world was exposed to the most inept, bumbling, inarticulate and probably dumbest president we’ve ever had. Obama can think, speak and act like an actual educated adult…now, I know that’s what has many upset w/ Obama, that they feel inferior to a black man and they can’t tolerate that so they have to try and destroy him.
Now you can attack me as well…

          • JeffH

Denniso, baaaa, baaaa, baaaa with your little race baited comment.

          • Vicki

Oh Look. A liberal plays the race card. How… well liberal of you.

Since they are the ones always bring up race it makes you wonder when they accuse someone of racism if maybe they are projecting.

          • Karolyn

            Who’s talking about sex?

          • Palin12

Wrong again denniso. Obummer is the dumbest so-called president of all time. A man who traveled to 57 states during the campaign of 2008? I knew how many states there were when I was 5 years old for crying out loud. He also surrounds himself with other idiots like that soon to be ex-speaker of the House “we have to pass the legislation so we can see what’s in it.” or Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) “Guam might capsize if too many Marines are on it”.

          • Vicki

            Palin12 writes:
“I knew how many states there were when I was 5 years old for crying out loud.”

Go easy on Barry S. He wasn’t raised here. There is no real evidence he was even born here.

The lack of knowledge of even the most basic things about our country that even a 5 year old knows by heart is probably why the founders wanted to limit the possible presidents to ones who did grow up here.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Vicki,
I’ll bet even Kim Jung Il knows how many states there are!!! He does but our so called president doesn’t!! What a farce he is!!

          • Denniso

I’m trying my best to be polite and will not use insulting words to describe you ‘folks’,but it’s very difficult to imagine you have any education at all, given the way you banter about things you know nothing about. If none of you think there is no racism remaining in the country and that many people do resent a black man being president. If you don’t believe that to be true then you’re even more clueless than you sound,or not telling the truth.

          • libertytrain

Denniso – I have been many places this year, and involved in many conversations about the current pres. I have yet to hear anyone say anything about his racial make-up.

          • Denniso

Racism has evolved for many racists, unless their talking among themselves…it’s not socially acceptable to be overtly racist anymore, but that doesn’t mean racism is dead. If you really think there is no racism in any of the most strident opposition to Obama, then you’re blind or in denial.

          • Denniso

            oops! ‘they’re talking’

        • s c

Karolyn, that was a very pc remark. It’s more than a bit amusing to see Bubba I step in and try to help Bubba II. It seems obvious that the wives of these clowns have more testosterone than either of the two ‘studs’ who managed to get into the White House. Unfortunately, neither wife has much common sense to go with their testosterone.
A progressive is a progressive is a progressive. No wonder such people flock to politics. Neither of those two couples could make it in the real world without constant help and lemming-like followers.

          • JeffH

s c, calling them progressives like these hacks are is way too nice anymore. Let’s just call it like it is, they’re nothing more or less than the Marxist/socialist/communist “Basterds” they are. Slick Willy is enjoying every bit of his ride at the front of the bus and is just waiting for the right opportune to toss O’man under…it appears that the O’man is so confused he’ll volunteer to assist in his own demise.

        • valricoslash

Denniso. Obuma might be articulate, as you say, when he is reading a teleprompter, but get him out in the open and he says absolutely nothing that is coherent and it takes him about a half hour to get a thought across. In my mind, he is dummer than a box of rocks and has gotten where he is by being the poster child for affirmative action throughout his life. Now the “Peter Principle” has caught up to him and he has risen to a level way beyond his comptence.

          • Palin12

Obummer is so dumb it takes him an hour and a half to watch 60 Minutes.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Palin12,
That’s only if it’s straight forward. If it’s a convoluted story it takes him 120 minutes!

          • Denniso

You people are just jealous…ever even been to harvard? Ever even been to college? Junior college? High school?

          • Claire

Denniso–No, I am not jealous that I did not go to Harvard, Yale, or whatever. I graduated from Winchester High School and the school of hard knocks. And I am proud and happy with the life I have led and currently lead. If anyone wants to call me uneducated, then so be it. I KNOW better, I will match my wits with any POTUS wannabe anytime, anyplace. At least, I figure I have common sense. At least I know what is wrong with this country and who caused it.

          • Palin12

            denniso,
to answer your question, I have BS degree Cal State Long Beach. Who cares about Harvard? Remember how the students at Harvard cheered when President Reagan was shot? BTW I would support a President JC Watts and he is black. I would never support a President Hillary and she is white. You and race baiting, such a tired wornout democratic trick.

          • Denniso

Claire, I was talking about the people directly above who made those dumb and childish comments. I don’t believe it matters if a person goes to Harvard, that was a reference to the people trashing Obama who did graduate from there. I don’t think that college education is by itself necessarily any good compared to life experiences. But for people to question his intelligence and smear Obama when he is clearly educated is laughable. I think you have generally been a good influence here and unlike most of the bomb throwers.

          • Claire

Denniso–I know you were referring to the other comments. It is just that sometimes when the issue of college education (or lack thereof) is brought up, I can get a chip on my shoulder. Sometimes I wish I had attended college, I would have been an archaeologist or a marine biologist. But, in looking back at my life, I cannot complain. I made my choice.

          • Denniso

I thought you said you got a BS from Long Beach? Were you being funny and using BS in another way? I should have gone into Archaeology or Anthropology…too late. Explore ancient history/humans,travel the world, get out in nature…

          • Denniso

My mistake…I see that Palin12 got the BS degree, which is appropriate since he/she supports Palin(BS). Claire, college or not,we can have enjoyable lives and productive. I got the wrong degree for me, BS civil engineering, but have still had a good life.

          • http://?? Joe H.

What’s the matter dennislow jealous of Palin12 for her BS degree?? The remark you just made puts you in the same group you try to paint us into!! So I guess you are jealous of Palin12!!!

          • Palin12

denniso, it seems you are not aware…BS degree is Bachelor of Science….which they give to 4-year students in the sciences, such as biology and chemistry. Sarah has a BA degree…Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.

          • Palin12

I do appreciate your humor though! I had a chemistry professor that explained to us that a BS was Bullsh*t, an MS was More Sh*t, and a PhD was a Pile High Deeper.

          • Denniso

Who is Sarah? Is this like the people who are on a first name basis w/
Limbaugh,Beck, etc? Have you had a nice sit down chat w/your friend ‘Sarah’? I think her name is Palin, but there are lots of ‘Sarah’s’ out there…

          • Palin12

No I haven’t yet had a chat with Sarah Palin but I did get her autograph and took about 60 photos of her. Here are some in case you missed them before:
            http://www.flickr.com/photos/palin12/show/

          • Denniso

Gee I’m thrilled! You got the autograph and pictures w/ another entertainer. Now,that should be worth something,in about 200 yrs…

      • Jim

Underneath the pants, I think Michelle also wears a jock strap.

        • Bob Wire

unruly thoughts are common to all and often funny, but still unruly, undisciplined and a reflection of the inner self.

But since you went there, my guess her pantie draw is full of many things that might amuse and surprise but not a jock strap to be found.

I’ve learned to stay out of there! and let it be a big surprise!

It’s a intrusion of personal space issue on many levels.

          • Bruce D.

That is witty and comical Bob Wire.

      • Bob Wire

With all due respect, having lived a full life I find “woman” 90% of any equation and would question the values of any man that thinks otherwise.

It’s both a strength and weakness to the very nature of man.

Any man that runs of pure blind ambition is lost.

Most women should enjoy that position and most do.

        • S.C.Murf

Actually the first phase of life here on earth, however many eons ago, woman did rule while the males were the providers, builders etc.

          • Karolyn

What a better world it would be if it were that way now! If it were a matriarchal society, women would not have to suffer being second class citizens, being abused, belittled, objectified and raped.

          • Mike In MI

Karolyn – Who the hell do you think you’re kidding?

If women ran the show all those things would still happen …just at the hands of women, controlled by women for the benefit of women. That’s a silly progressive’s wetdream if I ever heard one. Look at how bad it’s gotten under the present conditions of feminization of men, masculinizing women, “emncipation” of everyone into a socialized ant colony with conformity to whatever is the latest “fashionable” thing or idea(s). The “ME generation” with its focus on how things look rather than how they ARE leading to everyone (including government) wanting to live on credit, winning the lottery or making somebody else pay for whatever “I” want or cause to happen.
Hm-m-m. Having worked through all that — I guess women (or at least people with feminized mental traits) are running the show.
So, Karolyn, you’ve pretty much got things the way you want it. How do you like it? So, enjoy it if you can.

          • DaveH

            Poor, innocent Women. Sure.

          • DaveH

What happened to equality, Karolyn? I have found in my life that there are good and bad people in both sexes. Equally.

          • Palin12

            Karolyn,
Speaking of rape, what did you think of Letterman’s remark about Sarah Palin’s 14-year old daughter being raped at Yankee Stadium? I guess if a libtard can make jokes about it then it’s ok.

          • Kate8

Karolyn – What people do you hang out with? Women being abused, objectified and raped? Maybe your picker’s broke, to quote my late other half.

By far, most of the men I’ve known have been kind, hard-working, strong, protective and generous. I’m sorry if you’ve had some bad experiences, but you’ve allowed this to color your judgment. I like men who are men, and it suits me being a woman. And I don’t think women could necessarily run things better, either. Actually, they do run things to a large extent. But if Nancy Pelosi is an example of a liberal woman with power, yikes…

          • Karolyn

I am currently living in a state that has one of the highest rates of domestic violence in the country. I am working for a nonprofit that works in education and prevention of sexual and domestic assault and child abuse. We also advocate for victims. I am not against men; I love men. It’s this society I’m not happy with. The only societies in the world that do not have crimes against women are matriarchal societies, and they do exist. Most of you probably don’t know the statistics on rape and domestic violence. You might be surprised.

          • Karolyn

Wow, Mike, you sure have a poor opinion of women! That type of talk is right where the problem lies.

          • Claire

Karolyn–I am not referring to you with these comments, but sometimes women ask for trouble. Think about it. A woman should never place herself in a precarious position, if they can help it. I am all for women’s lib but common sense must be practiced. Rape? Assault? Then for heavens sake, don’t go near lowlife places. Don’t go around dressed half-naked asking for trouble. Cover the body and leave at least a little bit to the imagination. Another thing, if a woman talks like a dockworker, then how can they be respected? Belittled? Only if a woman allows herself to be. I wouldn’t put up with it, I can give back as good as I get and I wouldn’t have to use violence, but I would leave a situation where I was belittled or degraded. I realize that things can happen that is beyond control, therefore be prepared.

          • Claire

Karolyn–Another thing–why do women stay in a marriage that is abusive? If their husbands beat the crap out of them on a regular basis, why do they stay with these men? Also, I have heard that there are some women that beat the heck out of their husbands. I do not understand why these people live like this. I would not put up with that crap for one minute. Of course, I have never experienced this type of life. I will be married to Bob 5l years December 21st. Child bride! LOL

          • Karolyn

Claire – Easy for others to pass judgment. It’s not as simple as it sounds. We really don’t know unless we walk in the other’s shoes when it comes to domestic abuse. I’m sure you must have some knowledge of the dynamics through movies or famous cases. Many women are so beaten down by the perp that they believe they deserve it. Also, NO woman deserves to be raped! I don’t care how she dresses or talks or anything. Plus – rape is not about sex; it’s about power; and more rapes are perpetrated by acquaintances, friends, family, even husbands than by some stranger. NO MEANS NO!

          • Karolyn

Congratulations on your long happy marriage Claire. You are one of a minority these days.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Claire,
Wish me a happy birthday on your anniversary!!! you’ve been married 9 years to the day less than I’ve been on the earth!!

          • Claire

JoeH–Now I DO feel ancient! But I will wish you a Happy Birthday!

        • Claire

Karolyn–I will agree with you–one never knows what they will do if they walked in those shoes. However, me being the way I am, I would and could never tolerate it.

      • Kate8

Carol – When O made that remark about keeping his wife waiting, my only thought was, “WHAT?”

Not only was that ridiculous and demeaning for a world leader, but it was phoney. Even Bubba wouldn’t have used keeping Hillary as an excuse. I tried to imagine W saying, “Sorry folks, I’d love to stay and discuss national business, but I’ve already kept Laura waiting a half hour”. Wouldn’t happen.

Odumbo is a rung lower on the class-ladder from Clinton, if that’s possible. They’ve both displayed serious immaturity and lack of understanding for the gravity of their position, and are more like college boys more interested in the next frat party than someone whose every move has national impact.

When (if?) Barry and Michelle leave the WH, they’d better lock up the silverware and nail down the furniture.

        • JeffH

Kate8, correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t remember in recent history where a past president has been so prominent in a current presidents administration…Is Obama confused? You betcha! Alinsky and Marx teachings didn’t quite prepare the O’man for the “thinking man” however many that may be. But the “thinking man” crowd is getting larger and larger every day and all the bumbling in DC doesn’t help the current Marxist POTUS one iota!

        • Karolyn

Kate, it would really not surprise me if one of the Presidents of yore might just have used that same line. I can imagine, Johnson, Carter or Eisenhower saying something like that. Then there’s Wilson, Roosevelt, etc. Some of the more down-to-earth Presidents.

          • DaveH

Wilson, Roosevelt down to earth? They both vastly extended the unconstitutional power of the Federal Government. If you mean down-to-earth as in typical power tripping leaders or war-mongers, I guess you are right:
            http://mises.org/misesreview_detail.aspx?control=336

      • Harold Olsen

I’m not surprised Obama left because of his wife. Several years after Jimmy Carter left office, his wife claimed that she had made all of Carter’s decisions for him. Carter never refuted her claim. Shortly after Obama took office, his wife made a similar claim in a speech she gave. I think it was Glenn Beck who ran a snippet of that speech on his show. No one else ran it as far as I know. Obama has never refuted his wife’s claim either. If the claims of Carter and Obama’s wives are true, then they are even more stupid than otherwise thought.

      • SiliconDoc

Well, she is rather militant, and according to those in the know, Barry is a Bi, so that all fits, not like that’s why he jumped when she snapped her fingers, though, he did because he’s scared.

Then of course, there’s the fear of not having dozens or million worshiping you for doing nothing but lying, coupled with that big problem of actually answering to an edgy and at least for a few minutes, “hostile press”. Can’t handle it syndrome kicked in, and like absent fathers, lazy failures, playing hooky kids, Bammy took off…

Now the 3rd component is Slick Willie could do the teflon tumble and slide right between around and under a hostile press, and Obama could have his minions analyze how this or that worked, or better yet extrapolate some “policy” change or refinement from the episode- as the Slick Willie talking points are put the test under the pressure and heat of the press and the post appearance grinding machine.

So, Bammy bailed, in fear of his failure and first hostile press gig, was already afraid of his militant wife, a double dose of panic ( not like he shouldn’t get more since that’s the gov’s standing plan for everyone ), and scored some free teach from slickster… a pretty full on loser hooky shot without much real penalty…

I guess when con artists “make you” with a free hand up, that’s how it goes.

    • Patriot

We need to keep an eye on these guys, for crying out load why the heck are they negotiating with Obama to keep the status quo tax rates? Wait until next year and do it right, flat tax or fair tax, period then let the democrats eat each other, what are they doing? We do not need to do anything right now!

      • Mike In MI

        Good thinking, Patriot -

Then, subpoena the people living in the White House to prove the birth place, date, witnesses (if needed), what did he claim on the forms he filled out when he started college, got a passport to enter or leave the United States, paid his first taxes, traveled back and forth to Keyna and all that stuff. If it doesn’t work out all kosher and nice tell Ole Step ‘n Fetchit, that woman in our White House and whoever he’s fetchin’ for to pack and go. Then we can deal with Biden-my-time. Great comments. Unfortunately some Republicans seem to be skipping off with the fox to the circus. We will know soon which ones to trim, by their growing noses.

    • Palin12

I agree Jeff. Especially keep an eye on Murkowski. What a crook.

      • JeffH

Palin12, Murkowski has a hawk like face. She probably love rodents too!

    • Harold Olsen

I agree with you. However, I would not count out Obama in 2012 yet. I firmly believe that the Democrats are stuck with him whether they want him or not. Either they support him in 2012 or they lose the black vote, without which they can not win. Any Democrat who challenges Obama in 2012 will be labeled a racist by blacks. If that challenger is black, he’ll be labeled an Uncle Tom. So, if the Democrats support anyone but Obama, black people will do as they always do when they do not get their way, they’ll throw a childish temper tantrum. In this case, their temper tantrum will include staying home and not voting and then they’ll probably whine about being disenfranchised in the election.

I for one can not blame obama to bring President Clinton with him…
obama is not capable of speaking without a teleprompter about issues as tax-rate extension, or any other for that matter…
but he should have stayed!!! Period. His excuse not to keep “…first lady waiting…” was…
…ok, you fill in the blank as I am lost for words…
after the milk and cookies or whatever he should have called another press conference and resign!!!!

    UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

    • Devasahayam

Well bh0 is pusillanimous, and obviously does NOT understand the old saying “can’t stand heat, stay out of kitchen” or its political version “you want the title/authority–you can’t get it without the disrespect”.

  • Michael J.

Barack Hussein Obama is the only man alive that can make Bill Clinton appear viable as an alternative POTUS, NOT! Word is that we can expect to see Clinton pinch hit for Obama under the new title of Podium Czar.

P.S. Ben, what would you call a quadriplegic floating on the surface of Loch Ness… Bob?

    • Harold Olsen

I’m proud to say that I am Clinton hater and thought he was a terrible president. But, compared to how I feel about Obama, Clinton was a great president. Even though I hated, and still do, Clinton, there were a few things he did that I agreed with. I’m still waiting for Obama to do something I can agree with him on. I’m not holding my breath, though.

  • Kris

It must have been nice for Clinton to actually get to live in the past again. He couldn’t wait for nobama to leave, did you see the look of disgust on his face when nobama interupted him to say he was leaving? I thought for a minute, old bill was going to push him away from the podium!

  • Robin from Arcadia, IN

Barry is probably wishing he had become more chummy with the Clintons before he decided to run for the presidency. Maybe he would have chosen good ole Bill to be his running mate instead of Biden!

    • Kate8

Democrat ex-presidents never seem to go away. Of course, they also never seem to have any experience at holding real jobs…

Whenever a democrat politician gets into trouble, they pull out a Clinton. Talk about legends in their own minds.

      • independant thinker

I know Clinton has no experience making a living at a real job. He has lived off the public teat all his working life most of that time as a politician with a couple of years as a college teacher thrown in for good measure.

        • Karolyn

You know it bugs me when I hear people talking about “real” jobs. Any job is a “real” job. It reminds me of my ex who used to ask me why I was tired after working all day because all I did was sit at a desk. Governor and President are both jobs, more stressful jobs than most people ever have.

          • DaveH

It wouldn’t be so stressful, Karolyn, if they weren’t so busy minding everybody else’s business (Unconstitutionally, I might add).

          • Kate8

Karolyn – Government produces nothing. All it does is seek more power.

When a person has no experience at actually earning money through producing something, he can’t relate to the common man. They get to set their own salaries and spend everyone else’s money at every whim. You know if you don’t have to earn it it’s like monopoly money, and we the people are just a cash cow to exploit.

People like this have no respect for the worker and what it takes to generate a living. They don’t have those issues. If they want more they just raise taxes or borrow it, knowing it will be wasted and never repaid.

If and when they leave office they have to find other ways of living off the American worker because they have no clue how to run a business, and are too elite to actually work for a real boss.

Public servants were intended to be from our own ranks, serve for a period of time and then go back from whence they came. Career politicians can’t help but be self-serving control freaks, as their livelihood depends on staying in power.

          • Karolyn

You forget that Clinton came from a middle class family, as did Hillary, so they did have experience as “regular folks” as youngsters.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            karolyn,
Yeah right, he came from a middle class family, went to Oxford to college, and demonstrated against the United States on foreign soil!! He should have never had the right to be president!!

          • Kate8

Karolyn – These people are singled out at some point in their college days, shaped and funded by world elites, and put in positions to win elections. No one ever runs for election to higher office without the backing of world power.

You really have no idea of how the world works, do you, dear?

          • SiliconDoc

Wait a minute – Bill’s “family”, if we are ever to know whom that really is, had a big car dealership, and I’ve seen the Bill shakes the President’s hand pic when Bill was a teenager – in his tighty whites – so I don’t buy that one. As for Hillary, her family is so shrouded in mystery I have no comment other than in college, she was miss activist fighting for the Black Panthers, and somehow part of some legal team working up a deal for impeaching Nixon – I wouldn’t call either family middle class, I’d call them near OPAQUE class.
A good friend of mine attacked Hillary for not knowing how to use a coffee maker – some video online – and commented she has been served hand and foot for so long she hadn’t a clue what to do.
Next we have Obama, skipping Kerry the golddigger 4x trust fund nam fraudster, whose daddy went to HARVARD, then so di junior- whilst in between granmammy was VP of the big Hawaii BANK. So much for the “hard life” there – then his rich elite millions buddy bought his way around Occidental or whatever it was there left coast – and let’s not forget daddy #4 Seotoro was oil map military map man when fighting the Brits, of which Bammy still was one then – so he can be on the side of Islam while they fight one of his “native citizenships” – not exactly comforting given current circumstances…
No, I see no “hardship” nor even “middle class” anywhere there.
Here’s an example though – Dennis Kucinich – apparently 14 “residences” one year as a child and living in the family wagon on the street for some time. Now that appears to qualify.

I WILL VOTE FOR THE PERSON WHO DOES THIS
IT WILL MAKE THE U S A STRONG SELF-RELIANT COUNTRY

Stop being worlds peace maker. Start minding our own business. And straighten out our own country first. Bring all our troops home from everywhere. Put them on our borders, with guns.
We are in trouble – stop (ALL FOREIGN AID) How can this country afford to help countries all around the world. Our politicians have put us in the position of a near bankrupt country. The thing of it is, they don’t care a thing about helping the people in these countries; They are using our tax dollars in an effort to buy power and good will around the world. the money is not going to help people, It is going to the politicians and corrupt officials. It’s nothing but an attempt to bribe these crooked thieves.(It is a sham!) Billions of our tax dollars are used up this way every year. STOP IT. { An old adage } ” IF IT COST A DOLLAR TO MAKE A FRIEND – KEEP THE DOLLAR, BUT; IF IT COST A FRIEND TO MAKE A DOLLAR – KEEP THE FRIEND. Charity is the way to help people! Not stealing, from the tax payers, in the name of good.

We have troops and people around the world, in the name of peace & defense; Who is paying for this so-called peace & defense ? Certainly not the world, If the world wants peace, let them pay for it !! The U N is the biggest joke in the world! The U S pays the lions share of this so-called world organization. What do we get – (SPIT ON DAILY) I don’t believe we should quit the U N, but; just pay our fair share. Make their Representatives abide by our laws, & pay finds if the don’t. Pay rent for the property, and get out if they don’t. We do all we can to help the world, and they hate us. The liberal media clams, they hate us, & love Obama!! Give them Obama; Make em happy. If you continue to read this, it will become evident, that I don’t care for him. I suppose that makes me a raciest; oh well!!
JUST REMEMBER NOW – THESE 2 THINGS ALONE WILL SAVE US BILLIONS EACH YEAR.

Bring manufacturing back to America – How can we be a world leader if we don’t produce any thing in this country?? the wonderful unions, with the help of politicians,& industrial greed, have driven all manufacturing out of this country. At one time the only answer to company greed was the union. They played their part, and at that time, instrumental in solving that problem, however; after this was done, unions felt they had to justify their existence. They did this by pressuring the members to demand more & more in salary and befits. This resulted in companies being unable to compete with other companies, and the rest of the world. These problems are complicated, However; they can be solved, with the use of two dirty little things – profit sharing & tariffs. My god’ is it the only way? I don’t know – but it’s the fastest way, and; We need help fast!
The first thing is – TARIFFS – When we do this the rest of the world will go nuts, I expect China will probably threaten war. If this comes about, and it will, as soon as they became THE WORLD POWER. This is not far off; when it happens no one in the world can stop them. certainly not the powerless U N. After tariffs slow down the imports, we start profit sharing in the manufacturing plants across the country. This will kill the unions. It will also upset the the industry leaders; thats TUFF They run their companies on percentages – LET THEM PAY THE SAME WAY !! This is only way to rid us of unions. I’ve spent enough time on this for now. I think you get the idea. It will kick unemployment in the ass. NOW LETS WORK ON IMMIGRATION !

IMMIGRATION – Now this is a problem started by business. Once again the unions play a large part in this. In an attempt to keep food cost low, farmers started using cheep labor from south of the border. This practice soon spread to, other industries across the nation. I repeat this only for, people who have had their heads up their buts, for the last 50 or so years. When it started to be a problem our wonderful, gov. said” they would need a pass to come across and work here”. This was o k until, they started overstaying the pass time limit, and the drugs started coming over. I’m not going on with this. If you don’t know the story, your the one with your head up your ass.
Putting our troops on the border will stop this, and really put a hurt on the druggies. This will keep out the illegals, cut back on our welfare, and crowded, schools. This will also put a hurt on those politicians using welfare to buy cheep votes, from poor, uneducated, people like me!! The only reason it is such a large problem; Both parties are competing for the votes.- ITS POWER AGAIN If the politicians can keep you dumb they can keep you poor. The unions are the same; they don’t care about the schools. This is the reason the U S, has dropped, so far back, in education. this is another way we will save billions every year. As you can see – Its another employment fix. When you increase employment, you increase tax collections, and help the country. Politicians know this. they don’t want you too. Politicians want programs, welfare, unemployment, housing, It goes on and on. With this type of government they gain power. With power they have control. This control is over you ! Now they want socialism – IT HAS NEVER WORKED – ANYWHERE. AFTER THIS – FAILS THEY TURN TO COMMUNISM. Is this what you want?? go to China!!!

THIS IS NOT THE END – ONLY THE BEGINNING – MORE LATER
    WHEN I GET TO IT

If we have good relations with other countries, especially those rapidly developing like China, they will buy more from us, thus strengthening our manufacturing base. The amount of aid we give to other countries is a drop in the proverbial bucket compared to the “defense” (“war”) budget. As the “Christian” nation we purport to be, it is incumbent upon us to assist those in need.

      • Devasahayam

Your idea suffers from a serious flaw–as it does not take into account hostile mindsets in some nations (China is known to have hostile mindset since 1950, and its southwestern ally Pornistan officially “Pakistan” since 1972–as shown by its decision to “model” on Saudi Arabia, and its 1979 orchestrated burning of US Embassy Islamabad).

They export everything they make yet put tariffs on anything entering their country. So does Japan, and several countries. A few years ago the girl scouts tried to send the sailors and soldiers cookies and Japan tried to put a tariff on them even though they were from the US for US troops. finally the US threatened to do the same with every food item tha came to the US from Japan. Just what do you think they will buy from us? We do not manufacture anything in America anymore that amounts to a hill of beans. Majority of the manufacturing jobs have move over seas. As a Christian nation, we should abide by the Bible, help those who need it, help them learn to take care of themselves. You never help a person, or a nation, by making a bum out of them.

        • Karolyn

The point is these people want what we have and will buy what we produce, thus increasing our manufacturing. You don’t think it’s a point of self-esteem for someone in China to own something made in the USA? That country is growing so fast as a consumer with money to spend they can become our number 1 customer. You don’t think forward thinking entrepeneurs are exploring this fact?

            From sify.com

A survey has found that China has the third-largest population of millionaires in the world, behind the United States and Japan.

According to research by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), at the end of 2009, China had 670,000 households with more than 1 million dollar wealth, up 60 percent from the same period in 2008, China Daily reported.nd the country’s composite wealth grew by some 28 percent from the end of 2008 to the end of 2009, to 5.4 trillion dollars.

“The fast increase is driven by China’s strong economic growth, the rise of private-sector enterprises and the development of capital markets,” Frankie Leung, partner and managing director of BCG, said.

According to BCG’s research, entrepreneurs account for the majority of China’s high-net-worth population (those with assets under management exceeding 1 million dollars).

But there are growing numbers of wealthy Chinese who have different sources of wealth, such as executives, professional investors, and the independently wealthy.

In addition, the mix of entrepreneurs is diversifying beyond real estate, manufacturing and commodities into industries such as the pharmaceutical and high technology.

Despite its remarkable growth, China’s composite wealth still has tremendous room to expand.

“The sheer volume of new wealth presents an attractive opportunity for growth, but wealth managers should focus on the nuances of how and where this wealth will be created,” Leung stated. (ANI)

Karolyn, What products do you produce and manufacture that “they” will buy, I’ll invest in your corporation, big time. Please answer this question.

          • Karolyn

I am currently not a business owner WIA, but I would imagine the new middle class Chinese love American clothing. Actually, I am getting back into jewelry making. That would be a good product for Chinese women with newfound money. Not schlocky stuff like they make. When Japan went through their big growth spurt back in the early 90s, they spent money like crazy on American jeans, watches, etc. I had some Japanese ebay customers at the time. All we have to do is manufacture the stuff here.

        • http://google SUNBUM

If you want to help people GIVE TO CHARITY. Not to a government.

          • SiliconDoc

Yeah, don’t forget all the activists, and the lowliest cities now have to “make deals” and TAX TIF areas for “manufacturing and new businesses” – and the activist green earthers and eyesore whiners and “unbelievable plumbing and electric delivery costs” tend to DESTROY any new factory or production business plan trying to get in anywhere in the USA.
You’ve got all that lib left anti-business hatred on a huge raging activism fest as soon as word gets out something wants “in”. I’ve seen a dozen initiatives in this city over the past decade or so – that would have brought jobs and small and medium production, and one processing industry plant. We already have production, but some have closed, others changed hands- just they’ve all been there before the activists post 60′s -70′s.
So, people like to blame unions and greedy manufacturers, but my question is whom is EVER WELCOMED to any city or area anymore ? I bet the hostility is almost unbearable – then the endless red tape even at the local level…
I believe business has left not just from the taxes, regulations, unions, and environmental wacko laws, but the very people, citiznry has been taught at a core level to ATTACK such a thing – such an entity – and then put it under a microscope- and fight it’s entry…
That’s what I think any way.

Why Is There a U.S. Trade Deficit with China?
China is able to produce low-cost goods that Americans want. Most economists agree that China’s competitive pricing is a result of two factors:
A lower standard of living, which allows them to pay lower wages to workers.
An exchange rate that is partially set to be always priced lower than the dollar.

How Can China Set Its Exchange Rate Lower than the Dollar?:
China sets the value of its currency, the yuan, to always equal a set amount of a basket of currencies which includes the dollar. When the dollar loses value, China buys dollars through U.S. Treasuries to support it. In this way, the yuan’s value is always within its targeted range. As long as the yuan’s value is lower than the dollar, China’s goods are cheaper in comparison.

The U.S. trade deficit with China means that U.S. companies that can’t compete with cheap Chinese goods must either lower their costs or go out of business. To lower their costs, many companies have started outsourcing to India and China, adding to U.S. unemployment. Other industries have simply dried up. U.S. manufacturing, as measured by the number of jobs, declined 21% between 1998 and 2008. As these industries declined, so has U.S. competitiveness in the global marketplace.

It is obvious that you are very young and were never a student of history. After World War 2, we rebuilt most of Europe’s manufacturing through the Marshall Plan. We have supported over half of the world with our foreign aid, while letting our poorest go lacking.

        • Harold Olsen

And many of those countries, France for example, who came to us with their hands out asking for help, resent us for doing so. As they saying goes, “No good deed goes unpunished.” I say, stop all foreign aid to countries who have not proven to be our real friends. I think that would leave out just about everyone with the exception of England and Israel.

Wake up folks and do some research.

Why are we allowing GM to move their manufacturing plants for Chevrolet to China after spending billions of dollars opf our tax money to bail them out. Whic by the way was never really paid back, but transferred from one government agence to another and now to stocks worth way less than we will ever get back.

Why has Harry Reid made a deal with a Chinese Windmill Manufacturing Company to build a windfarm in the Nevada Desert? And that being financed with the Bailout funds from our tax dollars. Could a $560,000 donation to his re-election fund have a bearing on that?

Why is a Russian mining ccompany being given mining grants to mine for Uranium in Wyoming. Uanium that undoubtedly will be used against us in some manner.

Why are the forests of the Northwest being harvested and loaded on Ships to go to the Far East, creating changes in the environment and flooding every time ther is a heavy rain? Wasn’t like this when I grew up back in the 50′s.

Perhaps these are the things to be concerned about. Going on in the background while in the foreground we are diverted to discuss and be concerned about trivia like this press conference.

Although, they are probably wearing earplugs so they can say they can not hear any complaints from the American people so they can pretend that we are happy with the job they are doing. And the idiots who got voted back into office were given the message that we are happy with them.

This shows how inept our government “leaders” really are. Why would we trust ANY of them to spend “our money” correctly? I doubt that any individual has a worse balance sheet than our national treasury; the only difference is, our “leaders” can use force to make up the difference. That’s the next thing we need to work on!

Was Bubba stumping for Shrillary’s (whom bh0 appointed SecState, modelling off erstwhile Canadian PM Mulroney who appointed perceived rival Joe “Who” Clark as ForMin–both cases so that the “rival” would be out of country and presumably unable to do mischief inside) 2012?

It reminds me of a 1977 cartoon where Joe “Who” Clark (then Opposition Leader–he became PM in 1979, and lost to “no-confidence” less than a year later) is told that Dief-the-chief (erstwhile PM Diefenbaker, who passed-away 1978) is waiting to see him–and blanches and sighs (as he knows he will get some deserved criticism) when he hears it.

(edit: one problem is that 0bama already showed himself less competent than Shrillary by 2009/02/28)

    **********************
Karolyn ,,,,,,,,,Are you kidding me ?
Do you think China gives a damn ? As for buying more from us, why in the hell should they when they make products a tenth of the cost of American products, they’re just waiting in the wing for America to destroy itself, they won’t have to lift a finger we’re well on our way.
As for international aid being a drop in the bucket, first of all what do you consider a drop ? Second, those drops have been adding over decades, the bucket is full, can’t you grasp that concept ?

    • Karolyn

China has a rapidly growing middle class that is hungry for US-made products. The people in many developing countries love to emulate the US people, thus, they love to buy our products. Have you seen the streets of China lately? It looks like any capitalist city these days. The young people especially love US stuff. It is probably the young that will affect these markets the most. Also, China does not want to see the US destroy itself. We owe them too much, and it would serously unbalance the world economy more than it is already. We are probably their largest customer. China has a vested interest in the US.

Karolyn is about 25 years behind the times! when China was a VERY communist government and American goods were only available on the black market, then indeed they were VERY popular. now that they can buy them on the open market, they are not near so popular. Back then you could sell a pair of levi’s for well over a hundred bucks!!

          • Kate8

Joe H. – Behind the times, indeed. Today, America has become a laughing stock.

      • Joyce from Loris

I’m curious….. when did YOU see the streets of China?

        • Karolyn

There was a special for a week on World News Tonight (don’t gag.). The streets are teeming with cars and well-dressed individuals in the cities. Even in the country, people are buying tvs and cell phones. The American businesses, like McDonalds, are thriving. Traditionally, up-and-coming nations have lusted after what we have. The US is still a benchmark for these people.

Marvin – Open up that little mind of yours and see a bigger picture.

          • Karolyn

Marvin – Oh, so the Chinese make sure the streets of Beijing are crawling with well-dressed, Americanized people to impress foreign visitors? They also have an elite and many billionaires.

          • Kate8

Karolyn – Those thriving businesses you see in China were once in America. The Chinese now hold those jobs Americans once held.

Haven’t you noticed that most all of our products are stamped MADE IN CHINA? JUST WHAT AMERICAN-MADE PRODUCTS ARE THE CHINESE LUSTING AFTER?

What they are getting from us now is our resources. And our steel, as in old cars and such, to melt down and make weapons.

It’s not our products they want. It’s our money. And our homeland.

Your right kate especially our arts!__I was a professional artist for many years_many good friends who were in the arts and crafts movement of the 80′s, could better afford to ship original works of art over seas to be reproduced, than to try to pay for production costs here in the US___I know I tried it, the supply and production costs were crazy and I abandoned the idea__Over time, China then took original artists work, reproduced it for themselves and now sell it back to the dumbass Americans who refuse to turn the item over to see where it was made. Patriotic American ART, made in China!

          • Kate8

AngelW – I know exactly what you mean. I am an artist, also. Gradually the cheap imports edged out the American artist and, as you said, knocking stuff off.

Because of the unique nature of my work, it wasn’t until Odumbo took over that things really fell flat. Americans have been squeezed out across the board.

I’m glad I never went through with it and I settled for producing originals only.

China Income: Trends in Per Capita Levels
In 1990, China’s average per capita national income was around $350. Within a decade, there was a threefold increase, taking the figure to $1,000. At the end of 2008, the figure tripled yet again and China’s average per capita national income reached another high of $3,000. If China’s average national income continues to rise at an annual rate of 8%, the country’s per capita income will reach $8,500 by 2020 and will touch the $20,000 mark by 2030.

When I saw this desperate and shocking “stunt” on tv, I said “What could be more wrong with this picture?” Our President standing to Clinton’s right, giving up the Presidential podium to the husband of his Secretary of State….(who both want the White House back for themselves). Obama continues to absolutely shock me with his total lack of judgment, propriety and presidential demeanor (that’s right, slink out of the press conference so Michelle doesn’t get mad if you’re late) that only serves to weaken his leadership both here and abroad. The world is laughing hysterically at the US as they watch Obama try to govern with one inept decision after another, as conservatives and even fellow Dem’s cringe out of an overwhelming sense of embarrassment and shame. The US is a laughing stock. Sadly, the world has never seen such doomkoffs in our White House!

    • Karolyn

Have you ever seen the shenanigans that go on in other countries with their politicians? They have out-and-out fistfights, have had many scandals, etc. I think that when a politician shows us he’s a human being just like anybody else, it adds to his appeal. Who gives a crap what other nations think? What’s wrong with calling in a statesman who still commands a lot of respect in this country and around the world. I don’t see things the way you see them, and that’s what makes this world what it is, a place of people with differing views and ideas.

      • Kate8

Karolyn – There was a time when America didn’t display such ‘shenanigans’ to the rest of the world. He held to a higher standard. We had class.

Obama is a bigger embarrassment than Clinton. Democrats seem to get off on displaying their common roots and ghetto mentality.

I echo the words of a previous poster in saying that I have become ashamed of my country.

        • JeffH

Kate8, I can’t say that but I will say that I love my country, not my government and the people we’ve so blindly trusted to run it.

          • Kate8

JeffH – Obviously it’s our government I am ashamed of, not the good people of America.

It is sadly true that America is not the country it once was. There are still good people and they are our hope. But when I look around and see how so much of our nation is of a mentality not much above gutter rats, it makes me heartsick.

The Clintons are part of the elites. One group is Bilderburgs. Most of the political elitests belong to at least one of the most highly secretive of organizations. If you research it, (stating the obvious) that all politicians, are tempted with all sorts of temptations & political advancments to gain votes_One would think a seasoned politician would know better, to say no. As Hillary said regarding Bills indidelities, “He’s had this problem before”.

          • Claire

I don’t think I like the idea that some of these presidents pulled their stunts in the White House. They should have gone elsewhere to conduct their little escapades.

          • Claire

JeffH–Yes, I can well imagine what would be said about JFK. He should have conducted his escapades away from the White House too. I give him credit he did want to do something about the Fed. He is the only presidential candidate I ever went to see. He was campaigning at the Armory here in Springfield. He was awesome. I was young and I thought he was the best thing that ever happened.

      • Vicki

Statesman? Statesman? Bill is many things, most of them unprintable, but statesman is NOT one of them.

Ron Reagan was a statesman. Ron Paul is a statesman. JFKennedy probably was in spite of his upbringing. (I focused on definition 2 in my selection.)

        http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/statesman
2: a wise, skillful, and respected political leader

        • Harold Olsen

By my definition of what a statesman is, Clinton is definitely NOT a statesman.

Statesman: Someone who is out to get whatever he can that’s best for his country.

Politician: Someone who is out to get whatever he can that’s best for himself.

Reagan was a statesman. Clinton was, and is, not a statesman. John F. Kennedy, MAYBE, was a statesman. Obama will NEVER be a statesman.

What’s really wrong with our country is that we elect politicians instead of statesment. Of our current crop of elected idiots, there is not a single one I would call a statesman. I’ve come to the conclusion that statesmen have become extinct.

      • Teresa

Afternoon Karolyn but I have to disagree w/you, actually we Do have to worry about what other nations think, especially right NOW! You see the world is watching us w/a magnifing glass right now and they are watching our President very closely. What he does and says will mean a great deal in the coming months to foreign leaders regarding our currency and our relations and trade agreements. He has not shown himself well in the past and this only makes a mockery of his position and handling of a situation especially in the eyes of other leaders around the world. If you can’t handle your own administration how can you handle foreign relations….this is how some will interpert the situation.

        • Karolyn

But the fact is, last I heard, he is very popular with the people in other countries. About the same difference as in Democans and Republicrats.

  • Bob Wire

This only shows once again “44″ to be a pragmatic, and willing to go with what works.

Both of these men are salesmen in their own right, where you like it or not, is of little importance.

While it was disappointing to see that many ( some 53 ) democrats needed to be sold on the idea that this was probably about as good of a compromise that could be hammered out was disappointing to see. ~ I would think they all knew how to count to 60.

That the GOP was willing to temporary forget about a 13.8 trillion dollar national debt could come back to haunt them in the General.

And on the other hand We “can” produce our way out of this hole if America goes back to work and it become a non issue. It’s happen before! Remember Ross and his Pie Carts and all the doom and gloom about the debt. While we didn’t pay it off, we did come back and balance the national budget and got control of it for a time until supply side took over. “WHO’s SupplY” being the major point of contention.

I see it as the GOP willing to lay down a Marker and claim the day. A welcome change after two years of “NO”.

I don’t see this as “inept leadership” on the part of either party but just the opposite, it’s been hard fought.

I was somewhat disappointed with the views that the affluent or wealthy needed to contribute more while the rest of us contributed less and the unwillingness they showed to any compromise.

I suppose making $7.50 per hour, pulling down 300.00 a week before taxes can cloud anyone’s vision and make one insensitive to the needs of the wealthy. But the affluent act only to “good reason” like everyone else. You can’t expect to give them what they already have and they be happy.

Bottom Line, the democratic congress was circumvented and taken out of the equation to create this compromise and they are pi$$ed about it.

Congress was not permitted to carry the ball for the fight was in the Senate today. “O” took the initiative and the political gamble.

This “double teaming sales pitch” was simply a stroking of ruffled feathers and to secure the vote.

That anyone might “hate” both men, matters little.

But bottom line, ~ this national debt of 13.8 Trillion is being ignored for today, leaving the GOP to come back later wanting to cut social programs and arguing the need.

    • Rick

Have you notice that some of the loudest mouths excoriating the wealthy, such as Pelosi, Trumpka, Rangel, etc. are in fact themselves millionaires, who have never had to be responsible for a payroll or run a profitable business. Most of their wealth has come from the “POOR”.

      • JeffH

“Most of their wealth has come from the “POOR”.” Try the government through the taxpayers.

        • Claire

JeffH–I am home for lunch–a quick post- Our Democratic Mayor shot and killed himself this morning. Tax evasion. He was due in court this morning, when he did not show up, the police officials went to his home and found him dead. I had posted about him before.

          • JeffH

Claire, WOW! I guess crime does not pay after all. How about Bernie Madoff’s son committing “sideways” from all of the ridicule and pressures from his pop’s ponzi scam>

How’s Bob and the family doing? Robin? Hope all is well and you have a joyous Christmas.

          • libertytrain

Yes I heard it too and thought of you and your posts. Well he’s answering to a higher authority now – don’t think he realized how much tougher that will be. In a way it’s sad.

          • Karolyn

It’s vey sad. Til the end, he maintained his innocence. His friends all said he was a great guy too. Now his baby is going to have to pay for grandpa’s greed. Apparently, they were not close at all. As a matter of fact, I believe he turned his father in.

          • Claire

JeffH and libertytrain–He was living the high life, the social life. A different blonde on his arm every time we saw him. He was divorced, his ex took a lot of his money from what I hear. He funneled money from his relative’s estate that was supposed to go to Catholic Charities, about $850,000.00, plus other escapades. By gosh, he should have known better. I simply cannot imagine getting in trouble with the law, the IRS, etc. I will give him credit for one thing-when the tornadoes hit, he was on the ball, and had the city workers, etc. out immediately. He went around the entire town making sure everyone was okay. He did not drag his feet when it came to these disasters. But he had other issues that he didn’t handle as well. It is a sad thing, and he will have to answer to God.

          • libertytrain

Claire – yes, I remember what you said – sounds a little like my thieving sister. She too will have to pay in this life or the next. Whatever makes people so darn greedy – stealing from others to feather their own nests. Sickening. Well life goes on and you’ll get another Mayor. Apparently this deceased one saved the government a little money with his trial.

          • Claire

libertytrain–There is always one in every family, seems like. No getting away from it.

      • Karolyn

How can you say that? How did their money come from the poor? Pelosi’s family owns a winery and also has made much of their money through investments. They are worth around 19 mil. Rangel does not appear to be too wealthy from what little i have found. Did you know he earned a purple heart and bronze star during the Korean conflict?

        • JLC

Karolyn — I earned a Purple Heart (with an oak-leaf cluster) and a Bronze Star in WWII. What does that prove? NOTHING!!!

          • Karolyn

i’m sure you would use that to show what a patriotic American you are. Usually, when people hear about their war medals, they think more highly of someone.

          • Teresa

            nothing but respect!

          • Claire

JLC– It proves to me that you are a good, honest, decent man. I thank you for being the patriotic person that you are, and sincerely thank you for your service. Do not ever think it was nothing. It means a lot to me and to a lot of other people.

          • JLC

            Thank You, Claire

          • Claire

            JLC–You are more than welcome!

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Karolyn,
            Two things.
First if JRC earned those awards, he wouldn’t use them for anything. He would only put them up as he did to make a point. Most people that earned medals in a war zone feel embarrassed when you make a big deal of them as they only feel that they were only doing their duty!
second, have you ever heard of sunkissed tuna?? P-lousy’s husband owns them. Very few rich people buy canned tuna!! it truly is one of the few fish that the poor can afford!!

        • marvin

          Karolyn
did you know that TAX LAWS are for black and hispanics as well as whites, kind of like well i did rob that bank but i gave they money to my lawyers so i did nothing wrong,as for pelosie she tryed to get a bill thru congress to not tax sugar imports don,t remember the country, but her husband owned a lot of stock in the company[kind of like max waters] it would help she was found out and had to pull the bill

        • thinking

Karolyn you listen to the media too much. ” Rangel does not appear to be too wealthy ” He evaded thousands in taxes on an island estate. How many middle class own island estates? he had just like so many others in government made his money from wheeling and dealing. Why is it that the democrats always run on the concept of helping the poor yet the rich are getting richer. Sure you will say the few years the Republicans were in power they helped the rich. The truth is the tax increase will free millions of dollars that was headed overseas to earn more money from investing in countries were the rich would earn much wealth. Now they are reconsidering using their wealth to help American business. Money makes money and taking from the rich will only have them move their wealth where it makes the most. Even if you don’t like it that is capitalism. Remember the rich can move anywhere in the world they want. You can’t tax the rich into staying. where do you think Oprah, movie stars, sports players keep their money? If you say the US you would be wrong. Try grand Cayman for one, Switzerland for another. Just like Rangel they own land outside the usa!

        • Kate8

Pelosi also made a point of excluding her own company from the regulations Congress imposed upon everyone else.

      • Harold Olsen

And they hide their money overseas so they can avoid paying the taxes they levy on the rest of us.

    • marvin

      Bob Wire
when you can prove that a poor person can and will put people to work and pay them,i may buy in to that,

    • oldtimeyman

QUOTE FROM BOB WIRE: “And on the other hand We “can” produce our way out of this hole if America goes back to work and it become a non issue. It’s happen before! Remember Ross and his Pie Carts and all the doom and gloom about the debt. While we didn’t pay it off, we did come back and balance the national budget and got control of it for a time until supply side took over. “WHO’s SupplY” being the major point of contention.”

You’ve got the right idea, Bob Wire. Let me expand on it just a little.

FROM WIKIPEDIA: “Supply-side economics is a school of macroeconomic thought that argues that economic growth can be most effectively created by lowering barriers for people to produce (supply) goods and services, such as adjusting income tax and capital gains rates, and by allowing greater flexibility by reducing regulation. Consumers will then benefit from a greater supply of goods and services at lower prices.”

Supply side economics and trickle-down economics are political terms referring to a policy of providing across the board tax cuts or benefits to businesses in the belief that this will indirectly benefit working people. Supply side and trickle down economics are also called Reaganomics since it is what President Reagan promoted.

Working class people tend to spend their money on goods, such as food, clothing, automobile expenses and place any excess funds they may have into a bank account or IRA. Top income earners and business owners also spend money on food, clothing, automobile expenses like everyone else, but they use their excess and the tax breaks to expand businesses they own or have ownership interest in and hire even more people, create more jobs and grow the overall economy. The more jobs, the more money in circulation and more people get hired. I think it was Rush Limbaugh who asked, have you ever worked for a poor person?

The problem with Reaganomics was the Democrat Congress he was saddled with. They saw more money coming in and instead of healing Social Security and paying down the national debt – THEY INCREASED SPENDING. THEY GREW THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT!!! What we need is massive tax breaks for all Americans – including the so-called “wealthy” and force Congress to QUIT SPENDING OUR MONEY AND REDUCE THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT.

BTW – Foreign Aid and presidential travel all come out of the military budget. That way Congress doesn’t have to show the public where all the give-away money is coming from.

      • Bob Wire

thanks for that explanation of supply side economics oldtimeyman, it makes sense.

I’m not that sharp on the inner workings and left to only observe the results.

In any case I have found that too much prolonged course correction to the right or left can give you a predictable undesirable effect a 100% of the time.

If we might be on a straight path, this might well not apply. But the path has never been a straight on, but twist , turns in of itself and sometimes cuts even cuts back . So what might work today offers no guarantee of working tomorrow.

As for the poor offering jobs, they do in a sense, where it be desired or overly profitable yet another story. Some people do rather well with it. It’s positional play and where we each stand in the food chain.

If I could somehow prove that 50% of all working Americans depend directly or indirectly on government, where it city, county, state or Fed, this might throw a major wrench in supply side economic. But I could see how it might serve large parts of the private sector in a very real and meaningful way.

I create jobs and I’m on the edge of being poor. I’m using the word poor inside a framework of a sliding scale. If I was much poorer I’d have access to things and service I don’t enjoy today. Where I’d accept them another story.

But , I understand the jest of your comment and it could be correct “IF” the wealthy choose to spend their money as we might “hope”. I know for a fact, some do.

It seems we have given tax breaks to the wealthy with “hopes” of job creating without asking for any assurances. For in truth, it’s their money and they can do as they wish with it.

So just tax break alone fails to address the real issue of stimulating growth. Much like term limits alone fails to address influence peddling, the very reason for suggesting “term limits”

So Tax breaks alone has not an these is no guarantees that they will address our concerns today.

We need to offer more, much more for the needed change the current state of affairs requires. Something along the lines of a Capital Gains tax which encourages people to use money as it was intended, to buy and invest, keeping some fluid movement inside a monetary system.

Something! as I said, I’m not the sharpest tool in the tool box on such matters but just tax breaks for the top 5% while government is borrowing to stay afloat and the interest is eating us up is not a long term wise solution.

Today we only got past the moment and this is far from over.

I’d enjoy seeing less but more efficient government but as we grow so will government in spite all our efforts.

I’m left to wishing I had such a job! Finding that being an part of the solution exhausting. (intended humor)

That’s because I am a story teller Joe and offer more then you tend to offer with your postings. “More” does not insure better, but it is much more persuasive. I write in a persuasive manner as I was taught and I’ve chosen, I am not a lazy writer.

Your posting are brief, critical and often crass, void much in the way of support as you preach to the choir, the believers, the devout ones while attempting to debase others with brief trite banal slurs and cutting inferences.

I’m not preaching to the choir but offering an argument from a developed point of reference, for you don’t know who I am, what I do or believe as you attempt to put me in my place.

I enjoy playing the devils advocate and creating questions and exploring uncertainties. I couldn’t possibly annoy or confuse anyone that’s strong in their convictions.

Don’t read my postings if you find them taxing.

The way I look at it is if you dont give the rich the tax brakes that we in the end all pay for one way or another. We the poor would still be paying more taxes just not ours.Either way we lose.

          • Bob Wire

well stated Dan and I think it would be wise to consider that thought when we go about the process of administering to government affairs and seek the cooperation of the wealthy.

            They expect a lions share.

As much as I disagreed with Bill Clinton, he is so superior in his level of intelligence to Barak Obama that even I would rather see him in this office. My personal financial situation was far better under Clinton. Inept is too mild an adjective to describe Obama.

    • Harold Olsen

Saying Bill Clinton is superior to Obama really is not saying much. The chair I’m sitting in is far superior to Obama and could do a much better job of running the country than he’s doing. He isn’t running the country. He’s running it down!

People at the time attacked Chelsea Clinton because they didn’t like Bill and Hill. WRONG.

Michelle has made comments that deserve to be attacked but do not attack by calling her a “ho” and “windy-city streetwalker.” That shows no class and invites retaliation.

I’m sure you don’t like Bristol Palin being attacked because someone doesn’t like her mother. Forgive the cliche but two wrongs don’t make a right.

        • JeffH

Michelle Obama is also a Marxist.

At the Democratic National Convention in 2008 she said, ‘Barack stood up that day,’ talking about a visit to Chicago neighborhoods, ‘and spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about ‘The world as it is’ and ‘The world as it should be…’ And, ‘All of us driven by a simple belief that the world as it is just won’t do – that we have an obligation to, fight for the world as it should be.”

Do you wonder who…or whose values…should determine what “the world… should be?”

Straight out of the Alinsky playbook.

Even given all that I prefer him to our token negro. Hillery would have been the best of both worlds and Bill would have kept us entertained. I’m not predjudice, so don’t get the wrong idea. Dear Karolyn,

We often see people who criticize others for not keeping an open mind when viewpoints clash. Its a common human reaction, unfortunately your forgetting the first universal rule of properly maintaining an open mind… “While your mind is open. Don’t let others fill it with trash.” Developing and maintaining a point of view that is rooted merely off a television special and then calling others close minded is ignorant and naive. While it is wonderful you have maintained a part of that childlike view of the world, it doesn’t hold well under the strict examination of an international business profile. I’ve spent a great deal of time in China and Korea in my life and your assumptions of the Chinese mindset in regards to business and America are deeply flawed.

I cannot convince you of this and in the end I don’t really care, because people hate having their view of the operational principles of the world contradicted and you won’t believe anything that doesn’t align with your philosophical mindset that you have accepted as “truth’. It is worth noting this bit of advice which you can take or leave.

Perhaps you should expand your research sources and toss a splash of real life experience preferably accrued outside of your home town and spend time in reflection before you spend a day attacking every poster on a forum with relatively unsupported ideologies that are exceptional insubstancial in context to the conversation at hand.

Have a nice take and Merry Christmas.

    • Karolyn

You know what Lucas? I am not as dumb as you think I am. And contrary to what you might think, I do change my mind from time to time. Most of the folks I debate with here would never deign to look at the “other side” of the picture. Many brush off anything opposing writers have to say with bathroom humor and rude disgusting remarks. Now, you tell me, how open are their minds? I gratefully accept constructive criticism and do take it to heart. Only a rock does not grow and change. There are many rocks here.

      • JeffH

        Dumb? NO! Naive? Yes!
        A wealth of contradictions? Yes!
        Open minded? No!
A liberal in every sense of the word? Yes!
        A decent human being? Probably!
        Independent thinker? Absolutely not!

        • Karolyn

Hey, Jeff, when did you get the psychology degree?

          • JeffH

I see you appreciate the accuracy of my post!

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Karolyn,
            Why, was it real accurate???

          • Karolyn

HAHA! You guys are just dieing for me to answer this. Well, I have been told a couple of times in my life that I was naive. That could be a possibility. However, I’d rather be naive than jaded. The very fact that I may seem contradictory is actually a testament to my open mind, which would indicate that I am an idependent thinker. I am absolutely a good, moral person and a great friend. And I am intelligent, so you got that right.

          • Kate8

Karolyn – Being contradictory doesn’t make one open-minded. It only makes one closed-minded in the sense that if it is prevalent or traditional, you reject it out of hand.

Progressives have used this in their indoctrination. They know that everyone has a yearning to fill an emptiness inside (because there is nothing outside of knowing our True Self that can ever do that), so it’s easy to convince people to abandon traditional values for the promise of something else. So liberals have thrown the baby out with the bathwater and have no idea that the “new thought” they signed up for is just another path to destruction. Perhaps the real answer would have been to allow the “baby” to grow and mature.

Being truly open-minded is to let go of all learned beliefs, issues and judgments and view all things dispassionaltely. We tend to form our beliefs around how great our fears are, and how we want things to be. If we are willing to look fearsome things in the face without having to turn away, we emerge stronger and more centered, and more able to take life as it comes.

None of us want to see the depth of evil in the world, and it takes most of us a long time to get there. But there comes a point where the rosy glasses don’t serve us anymore, because they keep us unaware and vulnerable.

The Art of War says to know our enemy. I can assure you that our enemy knows us, has studied us and is expert at manipulation and mind-control. I would far rather seek out truth to the best of my ability and face it down, than be blindsided by something I never saw coming.

          • JeffH

Kate8, very well said and thought out.

          • denniso

Speaking as a progressive/liberal/Democrat,who is ‘the enemy’?? I can guess you mean the enemy is liberals since you use the term ‘indoctrination’ connected to progressive. You should know that the very definition of progressive or liberal is ‘open minded’ and that is what leads one to question much of the ‘traditional’ values. Many of which are a charade for bigotry, hatred, close mindedness. Just because something is called traditional doesn’t mean that it is inherently good. The traditional value of stoning women for adultery is not so good,is it?

“Being truly open-minded is to let go of all learned beliefs, issues and judgments and view all things dispassionately. We tend to form our beliefs around how great our fears are, and how we want things to be. ”

I can believe you say that Kate! You are controlled by fear and fear is not dispassionate by it’s very nature.

Which basically means, you are screwed up or you didn’t mean what you wrote.

A well balanced person, changes what they can, accept what they can’t and knows the difference.

A well balanced person, depends on a disciplined mind and understand how to think allowing them to assimilate information and ask good questions, to see what is missing, what is not there.

      • Lucas

I never stated that you were dumb, despite my great personal hubris I tend to avoid placing that label on people. I have met some rather intelligent liberals whose only short coming was the inability to interlink consequences to actions over time, but I digress. When you aggressively lash out at someone and please remember that a forum always appears more aggressive than it may be intented, that “defensive retorts” are the most common reply. It is rather difficult to have a cordial conversation with someone whom you have just slapped.

I’m saying perhaps that at the very least the method to your madness could use a bit of finess. I tend to review things at my leisure but unlike you it doesn’t matter to me if criticism is constructive or not because differentiating between then is based solely on your perception of constructive versus oppositional drivel. This renders the filtering process inoperative. I prefer that all things be considered and then the superfluous rough edges should be disposed of. Because I opine that perhaps a rock does grow and change as sediments of knowledge are added or the coursing currents of life experience wash away the imperfect aspects of the stone that cover its inner beauty. These stones may stand alone and be magnamous to behold or may be crafted into something truely breath taking. The perception of rocks in this case is your own but I am rather fond of them and feel that even rocks have limitless potential.

Now, you tell me, how open are their minds? I gratefully accept constructive criticism and do take it to heart. Only a rock does not grow and change. There are many rocks here.

        • Karolyn

Actually, Lucas, I am a rock collector and polish them for jewelry making. The line about rocks was something I heard a long time ago when I started my journey of change via the AA program. Alas, sometimes finess lacks in my responses due to my spirited nature. I do try, but sometimes I write before I think, only later to find my foot in my mouth. Sufficeth it to say, I learn something new every day and am able to adjust my views accordingly.

          • Kate8

Karolyn – I’m a rock collector, too. And I love to do lapidary and beaded jewelry.

We used to spend a month or two in Quartzsite, AZ every winter at the gem and mineral show. I have quite a collection of rocks. Haven’t done much with it lately, but I hope to get back to it. It’s good therapy.

        • Karolyn

Kate – You’re lucky you live out west where all the good stuff is! I’m taking a class in Jan. on wire wrapping and sculpture taught by a wonderful craftsperson. I have just fiddled around on my own til this. If I can make pieces half as beautiful as hers, I’ll be thrilled.

  • sammi

I am so incredibly shocked by how party favoritism colors so many intelligent peoples opinions. Not just on here but all thru the county. NOT ONE president of either party has really done whats completely good for us and THAT is the unvarnished TRUTH of it.

WHats more is every single one of them are mere puppets of big business and thats EITHER party. Whats flipping them out now is that SOME of us reasonable people are actually oping our eyes to the truth of the fact that none of them have ever really been FOR the people.

MY ancestor John Adams fought like crazy to keep parties OUT of this country for the VERY reasons we are reaping now. It stops intelligence in favor of allegience. OUR country should be the only allegience and NOW we have an evil vile government that WE do not influence in any way.

THAT being said IN recent history the RECORD shows(not anyones opinion) that Clinton WAS the president that did the most FOR this countries stability. He DID balance the budget for the FIRST time in modern history when EVERYONE including Reagan said it will NEVER be done because its impossible.

Now of course what Clinton did helped big business and was I am sure the first priority with us simply getting the benefit of it (crumbs from the table). BUT again the record shows we WOULD NOT BE in this position if Bush had not quite frankly raped and pillaged this country in EVERY way possible (and still is I might add)once Clinton gave put us in the black.

HONESTLY, I am relieved beyond belief that Obama called Clinton in because when it comes down to it, he KNOWS how to fix this-he did it once and he can do it again. Obama is not capable of this job but the people who are actually in control of this country were hoping that he would be a star of the pop-culture parties and distract us from the real dark things that are going on behind the scenes. He hasnt really managed to do that.

If Clintons policies were instituted again we would be brought back from the edge of collapse, thats just basic 2+2. THATS ALL that matters, not who we LIKE or who is or isnt educated or cute.

THIS country needs to have TRUE democracy.
We need to do away with parties, have ballots that actually list anyone who wants to run with no ones money but thier own. ALL lobbying needs to be outlawed and abolished.
There should be no ELECTORAL voting. Simply Straight number counts, we are more than capable of counting all the votes as they come in now. Electoral voting had a reason in the horse and buggy days and when mail took a month to travel across the country.
There is NO practical reason for it now except for the people who run this country behind the scenes to have another tool to manipulate us. 2 presidents in modern history that were voted in BY THE PEOPLE were not allowed to reign because the electoral vote was for the other guy. There should have been anarchy and a take over of the system by the people THEN thats allowed for in our constitution!

WAKE UP!!! AND stop playing pop-culture party politics! AND start REALLY getting intelligently maturely involved in whats going on so we don’t lose our freedoms all together since WE allowed them to take our democracy already.

EVERYTHING that happens is our OWN fault because there were things in place for us to DO something about all these manipulations and we have not done them simply because of pop-culture party politics.

As for the stupid bumbling behavior of Bush, waiting to do anything about the twin towers and Katrina-it ALL profitted big business better than anyone could have imagined and served an agenda thats working itself out right now. Remember it’s the true able singer that can make his voice sound really off key.
    Think about it.

    • Bitter Libertarian

“THIS country needs to have TRUE democracy.” I agree with much of what you suggest except the democracy part…the USA actually has a perfect Democracy…51% win and are happy while 49% are miserable and suck it up. Thats actually how a democracy is suppose to work.

Our Constitution mandates: The United States shall guarantee to every state in this Union a Republican Form of Government” 97% of the US laws on the Books are null/void due to this clause because in a republic if one person is harmed by a law it cannot be a law.

I think its crazy how the Communists like to pervert the Word “Republic” by attaching it to Korea, China, etc…

      • Bob Wire

yea, mislabeling is common, making “words” ineffective .

    • http://?? Joe H.

      sammi,
you are very misinformed but there are many progressives her that are so don’t feel so bad! Klintoon NEVER balanced the budget. He spent the same money in two places at the same place! therefore the budget was not only not balanced, there was actually a slight deficit!!! Proven Fact!!!

    • Bob Wire

“NOT ONE president of either party has really done whats completely good for us and THAT is the unvarnished TRUTH of it. ”

and For good reason, ~ first, opinions vary about “good”. second, the president has limited powers. third, ” Purism’s fail to endure the test of time.

This is a bad bill, and for the good of the nation I’d prefer it to not pass. But since I’ll be very dead in a few years, why should I care one why or the other? This is good for me. So what’s more important?

there is many ways to look at it.

I’ve learned to be very careful what I wish for as I tend to get it.

Confusing? Yes, but only if you think you are somehow in charge.

This where matters of “faith” serves you the best, some people got it and use it and some people don’t while claiming they do.

We do the best we know how and place it in Gods hands and accept the results. There no need for all the fret and drama.

learn how to let it go sammi

I can tell you wants about to happen, ~ The bill will pass and the 112 congress will attempt to repeal HCR and reign in discretionary spending to balance the budget and pay down on the national debt that they just increased by 900 billion dollars by failing to increase taxes.

The Fed will start slashing social projects and the states already reeling from budget short falls will start cutting back and laying off and increasing state and local taxes, fees and penalties. Local appraisal districts will have a field day. The one of 5 local municipal swimming pools that still open will close. Class room sizes will increase, schools will close. Unemployment will only get worse and labor rate cost will remain low.

And the average citizen will be in worse shape then what they already are today.

The average tax payer will be paying more and getting less, a repeat of the Reagan years, down sizing, junk bonds and flim flam get rich scams become the pursuits of many with the aid of predatory lenders.

Have I made you happy yet?

you’re right on in most of what you say except for Clinton’s balancing of the budget. Clinton (let’s call him the B team) performed his role allowing the coffers of the USA to fill up so that it could then be raped by the A team. If the A team is being assigned that role again by the elite who run both parties then it’s only that they want to push something through that could never happen under an A team administration with out the people who currently support the A team to really wake up. Like gun control. The B team if successful at restoring the coffers momentarily will appear the hero and then get more followers from We the People and be able to slide more gun control into the agenda. Or maybe more control for GATT and NAFTA which was one of the past go rounds of good cop bad cop we’ve had to endure. It’s all slight of habd and both parties are equally culpable of promoting “a new world order” (Bush seniors very words after desert storm)

Friends, the US Currency has begun a spiral downwards and there will be no stopping it. The US Dollar is on its way out as the worlds reserve currency, all these other events: Muslims, mosques, scandals, movie stars, etc are all a distraction to keep you looking everywhere you need not be.

2011 is going to be the year, but not because I say so, simply because nations around the world are dumping dollars. Another good reason and proof is that Ben Bernake says that the Dollar isnt going to be depreciated! That alone is proof it will! What Banker tells the truth???
Have a Plan, have guns, ammo, food and an escape plan if you live in the city. Mark my words that one morning we will all wake up to prices that simply doubled overnight. Dont get caught with your pants down….you’ve all been advised…Good Luck & Good Night.

So true and there is nothing that anyone can do.Its going to fall like it or not.All we can do is watch and be prepared for the inevitable. No matter who is in charge at the time we in the end will have to restart the process all over again and hopefully with the very constitution and the missing bill of rights that have been torn up for the so called safety of the libs ect. This republic will not end but will strengthen from all of this. Its not the end but the beginning of much needed change.

Gee, thought Clinton would be on crutches after his shooting himself in the foot with his comment to Big O. Did you catch it?

The ol’ creep waved O away from the podium that had the Presidential Seal on the wall. Clinton told O that he sure didn’t want O’s Mrs. mad at him for causing O to be late for the party. Wha??? Did that crud not realize that he showed more concern for the “feelings” of O’s Mrs. than Clinton showed for his own Mrs. when he was committing adultry IN THE OVAL OFFICE, AS PRESIDENT OF THE USA? Or is being late for a “Holiday” party more insulting to a Democrat mate than adultry? Strange Standards. Sure Not America’s.

Someone should “call him out” on it… Calling people “out” is O’s threat/strategy in politics, let’s give Clintoon some of O’s medi.

    Karolyn,
“You only see what you want to see. (And don’t see what you don’t want to see.) I know, you say the same about me. However, at least I have an open mind. Try broadening your horizons.”

I was reading the comments for a better part of last hour…
    Let me say this:
I am glad you are reading trying to understand…
I grew up in communist Poland which compared to Russia, China, N. Korea, Cuba etc..was a “free country”…
DO NOT enterntain the thought that China will allow you to see in some “documentary” the real thing!!!
…and you areprobably right about rising middle class in China…
THEY WILL NOT ALLOW to display American products to any number that would make a difference! China do not respect copy rights, and in esence they do whatthey want, and I can assure you the people there are scared and keeping to themselves because the alternative is dire!!!
    the same with Russia…
they are protending to be changing…
    well…what can I say?
    I don’t care how you dress a monkey…it is still a monkey!!!

Somewhere you have said Obama is respected all over the world…
    WRONG!!!!
As I was in Poland in the last 3 years frequently, due to my Parents failing health (right now I am here for few days short of 6 months)
    I can tell you:
Obama is considered as a joke!!!
reading news in russian, polish or german (as originals since I speak fluently all 3) is embarassing!!!
I don’t think there was a day that someone wouldn’t ask me:
“what in a world were you guys thinking??!! (electing Obama)…
somewhere you say that Itallians are religious people…
Karolyn! going to church is one thing, behaving like a church going person is another…
it is not a secret that Itallians are leading their lives in adultery…
their PM is a racist, adulter and why you think he was voted in by 40%???
because the society does not consider such trades as faults!

Look around you and notice how many Asian people are driving American cars…
also please notice how many Americans drive Japanese cars….

I live in States for the past almost 30 years, and regardless of my preference in Presidents, not a single one split the Great Nation as Obama did..
It hurts me and makes a knot in my stomach to see how step by step Obama wants to turn United States of America into what I have left behind 30 years ago!!!
did you read the Health Care Bill???I nvite you to do so…health care for everyone!!! REALLY???
well in Poland they have socialist health care for everyone..
a little story to give you an example: my nephew (working 26-years old) hurt his knee playing a soccer game in a local club…went to a hospital without x-ray they put a cast on his leg (toes to crotch)..advising him to see a specialist as they suspected a serious injury…since it was Sunday we needed to wait till Monday morning only to find out that the soonest we can see a specialist would be Friday (with the free health care)…so I have made some phone calls and privately we were at a specialist office before noon the same day for a mere 300 PLN (approx $100 and an average monthly income of Poles is about $700)..that was great but we needed x-rays and also MRI …xray was not muchof a problem, but MRI was scheduled 6 months out…again $230 later we were able to do MRI the next day…
So after such rant I would ask you to read little more and question what you read…
Check the people around Obama, and I don’t mean CNN or MSNBC or Fox News…do a real research…with an opened mind…

    • Karolyn

Thank you Joanna. I will keep all you have written in mind. As an aside, all four of my grandparents were born in Poland. I am only 2nd generation born here.

    • Denniso

Joanna, you say you have never seen a president ‘split the country like Obama has done’…You’re missing the forest for the trees. It could be more accurate to say that his election split the country, but not him. Even before he was elected and months before he was sworn in, the rightwing began an orchestrated attack and smear campaign on Obama, lead by the rightwing blabbers like Limbaugh and Savage…they never let up and came up w/ and spread all sorts of lies about Obama, his citizenship, religion, his education, his politics(socialist, fascist, communist). The rightwing set out to actively destroy Obama as their top priority…not to engage in honest political debate like we should be doing, but destruction as the goal.

The rightwing split the country by engaging in lies and deceit and convincing a sizeable % of gullible or confused Americans that Obama is intent on destroying the country for the purpose of establishing a dictatorship, one world gov’t,Islamic society, marxist ideology,Fascist tyranny, confiscate all guns, and any number of other nonsensical and idiotic fantasies.

Obama is doing all he can, politically and economically,to revive the country after the largest economic collapse in 80 yrs, following a decade of too lax regulation and oversight of the economy by Republicans, and Democrats to a lesser degree.

There are people, rightwingers and racists as well, who are hellbent on getting rid of the first black president we’ve ever elected…an historic event that should be celebrated as the profound event it really is. You might note that the rightwing has also demonized, trashed and smeared the first woman Speaker of the House…they don’t like change and if they could, would take us back to the ‘good old days’, when women couldn’t vote or own property and only rich, white men ran the country.

      • Kate8

Yeah, yeah, Denniso. It’s all about gender and skin color. Gender and skin color. Gender and skin color. Nothing more.

The depth of your delusion is astounding. You can’t even see that Obama’s skin color has been exploited to the max – one big reason he was chosen. If he was white, it would be far more difficult to ram tyranny down our throats. As it is, you all just keep pulling the race card to try to silence opposition.

Have you noticed that it’s not working?

        • JeffH

Kate8, people like HFlash/Am Lib are one thing to contend with but denniso actually believes he/she is right…on all counts. Talk about delusional…denniso and his/her ilk have missed it because they are so invested in Obama and his historic presidency that their default reaction to any person considered anti-Obama is to try to destroy them, especially with the race card. This kind of thing has worked for decades for the elite ruling class, and they are oblivious to the fact that it will not work in 2010 or 2012.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            JeffH,
dennislow keeps ranting about the repubs distributing lies that Nobummer split the nation. I don’t give a damn what the republicans SAY!!! I am making my opinions by what Nobummer says and does!!! THAT is what is splitting this great country!!

          • JeffH

Joe H., you know that 2 + 2 = 4 no matter what the spin by the left says. I hear ya and I’m with ya on that.

          • Denniso

            You guys are humorous…

        • Bob Wire

with all respect kate, we do see what we want to see, and at the moment, I see you being the one to bring up skin color. “O’s” not bringing it up!

And Joan , you are right, in thinking the nation is divide. It would be divided regardless what color of democrat was sitting in the first chair.

“O” being a man of color only makes it more pronounced.

While I hate this division, I look for the good in it and there is some good to be found.

          1. racial bigotry is being exposed while being denied, ~ which is the nature of bigotry and why is still lives in the hearts of all races of people, and always has. ~ We can’t expect quick sweeping change but only small change in this area of cloaked bigotry, this change has started.

          2. “That all people are created equal according to law”. We struggle with this sentence and we are working still today to make it a reality.

          3. And we American’s needed some “left” after 8 years of the “right” doing what they darn well pleased and the whole bunch on Capital Hill enjoyed the party! Republicans and Democrats alike!

          4. All American’s need to take the responsibility for what’s happened and quite trying to pass the blame like their politicians. They did IT! with the people they selected to fill high positions! I did it! when I didn’t join the protest of the redistricting in my state and let other fight the fight as I sat idle. They lost the battle and come first election, we lost a good governor and here comes “W” “the rich man’s kid into state office of Governorship.

          5. Obama has not divide us, our reaction to “O” has divided us. The difference is perhaps seen as “word play” ~ But it’s a lot deeper then that, for “blame for this division” is being assigned. ~ No one is wanting to accept the blame so it’s being “assigned to Obama. But it’s never been about Obama ! It’s about America and American’s.

We lie to ourselves a lot ! It will be repeated over and over again until it taken as the truth. OBAMA did it!

As far as “O” being considered a joke abroad, I’m not sure of what to say,~ in some circles I would expect it as we seen recently in our own military. The job is not a popularity contest, Lincoln had bigger problems with popularity and the nation was yet to be completely connected via Telegraph at that time in history. In fact, Lincoln made telegraph a high priority and linking communication which aided the North to win the Civil war.

I don’t have a problem with “O” being a one term President, since many of my countrymen seemed to have finally removed their heads from their backsides, yet refuse to accept “O’s ” leadership. The GOP treated Cater in similar fashion and was very effective and he was a WASP.

I’m disappointed in us, but myself and Obama will accept it. But this question is best answered by a General Election vote and not with rumors or who’s creating the loudest noise or slanderous commentary.

          • JeffH

Bob, Kate8 was pointing out that denniso and the liberals have used the race card as an excuse for disliking Obama’s political lean since his election. With denniso, the race card is always “locked and loaded” and ready to go. It is what it is…pretty pathetic!

          • Kate8

JeffH – He obviously didn’t read Denniso’s post.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            kate8,
Just like the beatles song Mr. Nowhere Man! sees just what he wants to see, hears just what he wants to hear, nowhere Man keep listening, you don’t know what you’re missing!!

          • Denniso

It’s not Mr. Nowhere Man, just Nowhere Man…You’re mixing up Mr. Tambourine Man w/ Nowhere Man.

          • Bob Wire

“Bob, Kate8 was pointing out that denniso and the liberals have used the race card as an excuse for disliking Obama’s political lean since his election.” oops!, my apology Katy.

But let’s be clear, ~ It’s not Obama that is bringing up race, but “others”. Obama doesn’t go there unless someone or something makes in impossible not too. He is not throwing down a race card.

          • JeffH

Bob, it is the left, the liberals, the MSM and the Democrats that have continually thrown out the race card and Obama has done nothing, nada, to kill the flames of the racist rhetoric. He could put a stop to it but that doesn’t fit in the Alinsky mold of things. He is as responsible for the division in America as much as anyone else is solely by keeping silent.

          • Denniso

The race card? What does that mean? That when racists spout their mindless crap and someone calls them on it they are ‘playing the race card’??? Obama wants to bring the country together and the racists who really do exist want to tear it apart…and I don’t mean anyone who disagrees w/ him. If you don’t think there are dimwits who hate Obama for his race then you live in La La Land. Do you ever complain about the liars who use the phony stories of Obama’s citizenship and religion as a political whip? No, I didn’t think so,since you believe the lies and smear,JeffH.

          • JeffH

Denniso…baaa, baaa, baaa…you are but one of the guilty parties that constantly espouse the race card as an excuse for Obama’s failed presidency. You can lie about it all day long but it doesn’t change that fact! It is you who is the racist!

          • Denniso

If you could think logically at all I would say to you that pointing out racism is not the same thing as being racist. Just as pointing out stupidity does not make one stupid.

    • JeffH

Joanna, thank you for your reality. My step-father was Polish and moved to the US in 1958…born in Warsaw and spent his teen years in a Nazi work camp in Norway. He was re-united with his 94 year old mother and surviving sister in 1991. I’ll take a guess that you lived close to Ukraine but I could be wrong.

      • Bob Wire

That make you young Jeff and explains some of you’re vinegar.

        • JeffH

          I’m a 49′er – 61 Bob.

  • denniso

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.
