The Ponzi Scheme That Masks The Obama Great Depression

May 9, 2013 by

Hello, I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. At this moment, despite the lies and distortions you hear from the Barack Obama-adoring mainstream media, we are experiencing an Obama Great Depression to rival anything we experienced in 1929. But the truth is being covered up by an ever-rising stock market (that is completely disconnected from the economy) and a country awash in “Obama money.”

The Kool-Aid-drinking media is shocked by hundreds of hard facts I’ve put together proving we are in a Great Depression. They ask me: “Well then, why is the stock market doing so well? Why are there no bread lines or tent cities like 1929?”

The answer is simple: Big-government spending on an unimaginable scale masks the true picture of our economy. What you’re seeing is a fraud: the biggest Ponzi scheme in world history. There would certainly be bread lines and tent cities, if government wasn’t handing out billions of dollars in checks, paid for by the Federal Reserve printing trillions in fake dollars.

You’ve seen the numbers. Obama is the biggest spender in world history, adding $6 trillion to the debt in only four years. Where do you think that money is going? To all-time record numbers of Americans on food stamps, disability, welfare and unemployment benefits. Now, of course, we’re embarking on free healthcare for 40 million new patients, with money we don’t have (and no new doctors to treat them).

And just to be certain that the U.S. economy is completely destroyed, now for good measure we want to legalize 12 million illegal aliens, giving them access to more than $9 trillion in entitlements. Makes sense, doesn’t it?

The government is borrowing 46 cents for every dollar it spends. It’s all crazy… literally. We have borrowed from China to pay entitlement checks to Americans who no longer feel it pays to go to work, and to hand out billions of dollars in foreign aid to countries that hate us and support terrorism.

All of this while the Fed is running the printing presses day and night to fund its weapon of mass distraction: Wall Street. As long as the stock market is up, the lapdog media can report the economy is “in recovery.”

The plan is brilliant. You’d almost think Obama is relying on Bernie Madoff as his chief economic consultant — except even Madoff wouldn’t have the cajónes to pull off this scam. Obama has succeeded in turning Wall Street into a rigged craps game. The government is guaranteeing the results. Obama demands the Fed hands out $85 billion of fake money each and every month and drops it onto the plates of the richest publicly traded companies. This guarantees the stock market goes up while their CEOs get filthy rich with rising stock options, which guarantees banks, Wall Street and billionaires like Warren Buffett continue to support Obama.

Meanwhile, on Main Street the real economy is dying. There are no jobs. There is no recovery. Ninety million able-bodied, working-age Americans are not working. The workforce participation rate is setting all-time records for futility. U.S. worker hours are down and U.S. worker salaries are stagnating, while our cost of living is skyrocketing. Recent college grads are drowning in debt, with record levels of student loan default and post-college-graduation unemployment. Older Americans are dipping into their retirement savings in record numbers; 16.4 million Americans live in poverty in the suburbs; and almost 50 percent of Americans have less than $500 in savings.

The middle class is being systematically destroyed. Wiped out. Left with the short end of the stick. The real economy on Main Street is dying. And worst of all, our children and grandchildren will get the bill. This $85 billion per month being used to fraudulently prop up the stock market is all debt being piled onto future generations.

Then there’s Part II of this Obama Ponzi scheme. Separate from the Fed’s $85 billion per month of fake money is the government spending scheme. Obama has handed out billions of dollars in stimulus, bailouts, green energy investments and government contracts to the biggest publicly traded companies, the most corrupt unions and the most connected Democratic contributors. But none of the benefit goes to small business or the middle class that is stuck paying the bill.

Government deficit spending with money we don’t have is now paying for everything, at every level. It’s all to hide the reality that we are living in an Obama Great Depression. There are no bread lines or tent cities because we’re all living on the government dole, paid for with debt. Fraud on a massive scale. The greatest Ponzi scheme in world history.

Housing allowances and food stamps prevent bread lines and tent cities.

Free breakfasts and lunches at school make it seem like children aren’t going hungry.

Earned income tax credits are handed out to millions of lower-income Americans (including illegal aliens) who pay no taxes in the first place.

At the same time, government keeps interest rates artificially low to pump up home and car sales — and to keep the interest on the national debt from eating up the entire budget.

And if record low interest rates aren’t enough, government purchases of GM cars are up 79 percent. The government is artificially propping up GM with your tax dollars. It’s all a scam.

Take away all this spending and printing by government, and it would look exactly like 1929.

We are in an Obama Great Depression masked by government spending and debt that didn’t exist during the first Great Depression. The true extent of this economic Armageddon is being hidden, disguised and propped up with government spending, programs and Fed printing never imagined in the 1930s.

What’s the end game? First, all this spending and printing is to prevent economic collapse and total panic. Second, it’s to achieve the Marxist dream: redistribution of wealth to Obama’s voters and contributors. Third (and this is the big one), it’s to create a two-class society.

Karl Marx hated the middle class. He felt they needed to be eliminated to create equality, fairness and social justice (i.e., shared misery). Will people be hurt? Sure, they’ll lose their jobs and homes. But to Marxists, the end justifies the means. Obama needs a two-class society to make his plan work; the two classes are the super rich and the poor. The key is both are dependent on government to survive.

The super rich love crony capitalism — with Obama handing out stimulus, Fed printing and government contracts like candy. That’s how the super rich and politically connected stay rich and get richer. The rest of us will be poor, which makes us dependent on Obama for government checks to survive. Government will pay for our lives from cradle to grave, while confiscating most of our income.

This is a Ponzi scheme that even Madoff could never have imagined. That’s why you need to develop Y-PODS: Your Personal Obama Defense Shield. It’s all included in my new No. 1 national best-seller, The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide. I wrote it to show the middle class and small business how to survive, thrive and actually prosper from every move Obama makes for the next four years.

Don’t get mad, that does nothing for you. Get even!

You can find my best-selling book, The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide, online at Amazon.com or at Costco, Barnes & Noble, Sam’s Club, Books-A-Million or any fine bookstore. Or you can buy it in e-book form to read on your favorite e-reader.

That’s how you turn lemons to lemonade.  And Obama is certainly the biggest lemon in the history of America. You can find more information in the box right under this article. Just look for the bright yellow book cover of The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide to order your very own copy.

I’m Wayne Root for PersonalLiberty.com. See you next week. Same time, same place. God bless.

More “libertarian” salve for a Republican created wound. The last Article Mr. WAR wrote suggested several strategies to “be successful” in the “Obama Created” economy. And almost all of them suggested some sort of stock to buy. Or, overseas accounts to “protect” your ill gotten gains. And now he want’s to COMPLAIN about the stock market? Talk about talking out of both sides of your mouth!

We need to have serious investment into the true engine of Americas prosperity. The American worker, when supported by an American Investor, as well as by a real Entrepreneur ( not the hedge fund “entremanuers” that seem to be running everything), as well as having the power of collective organizing, had created the greatest country post wwII. There is no one here who will deny the prosperity America experienced in the 1950’s. And almost all of created by the real “job creators” – those well-paid Union employes. If there is no money at the bottom. how do you expect to have a market?

    • WTS/JAY

A Republican created wound? Don’t be such a doofus, KG…it’s the same old crowd regardless of party-label; they use party-labels as cover to keep the people divided and distracted, and fighting amongst each other. You can’t possibly be that gullible to fall for the left/right nonsense…can you?

      • Deerinwater

Seems that you wish to pick and choose when to use party affiliations when it serves your argument Jay.

Is this an exclusive privileged available only to thous that bow and kiss Norquest’s ring?

I suggest, that you can’t have it both ways ~

Like they say in the neighborhood where I grew up ~ Don’t pull-out anything you are not prepared to eat.

        • KG

It’s not the ring they are kissing! ;)

          • WTS/JAY

There’s KG…his mind always in the gutter. One day he’s bring up images of endowed-donkeys, the next, naked fathers…and today, well.

actually ~ I just cut down two large trees on the back lot and address business matters. CAB ~ I still work.

        • WTS/JAY

You remind me an awful lot of a certain someone who used to go by the moniker “deerinwater”…he used to sidestep the point in someone’s postings in similar manner to yours. You hoo, is that you my dear?

          • Deerinwater

and your point was ? ~ right or left , it makes little difference?

I pretty much ignored it for it’s true only to a point. ~ It does well to keep people divided as you say ~ while the division is largely about funding and who get it. ~

You are offering the same option as a friend of my when he says, :”Once they stolen my money , I don’t care what they do with it”.

While you have to admire this forthright understanding ~ It does matter what they do with the money.Jay.

To suggest it does not matter is an attempt to be obtuse and “as you say” side stepping the issue of funding.

    • WTS/JAY

KG: We need to have serious investment into the true engine of Americas prosperity.

Investing in a country loaded with a Gargantuan-debt, and with no industrial-base to speak of, would be like pouring water into a bucket full of holes. It would be nothing short of insanity!

KG: The American worker, when supported by an American Investor, as well as by a real Entrepreneur ( not the hedge fund “entremanuers” that seem to be running everything), as well as having the power of collective organizing, had created the greatest country post wwII.There is no one here who will deny the prosperity America experienced in the 1950’s. And almost all of created by the real “job creators” – those well-paid Union employes. If there is no money at the bottom. how do you expect to have a market?

KG, you’re living in a dream. You offer us a fantasy, albeit, a nice one. This country doesn’t belong to the people, this country belongs to a private, banking-cartel. So your sentiment, and good wishes are all for naught. Until we become “owners” instead of “renters”, all your wishful is just that; wishful-thinking!

Unions are a Communist idea, not good for a Free Market. I guess I need to add you to the list of Totalitarian Socialists.

KG, do you ever get sick of being stupid, retarded and a communist socialist sympathizer LIAR? DEMOCRATS dissolved Glass Steagall. Yr boy toy Barney Frank LIED and said Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were doing great. Bush jr IS a war criminal liar, traitor and a treasonous POS BUT Obumma could have reversed ALL of his crippling bankrupting promises and actually passed a budget WHICH HE HAS NOT. EVEN AFTER 5 YEARS. “Republican vs Democrat” is a fake paradigm designed to keep people fighting amongst themselves and ti ignore the TRUE criminal masterminds, the Federal Reserve.

What does collective labor organization have to do with a prosperous country? The Unions did nothing to create business. The prosperity this country experienced after WWII had nothing to do with collectivism.

  • Warrior

Biggest Ponzi? Absolutely. And the “gubmint” labor force is the biggest “whack a mole” game ever produced as well.

Kings of industry and the nobility passing laws and doling out bread and organizing circuses for the serfs and peasants….they’re going to miss the middle class when the ‘slaves’ revolt because they remember they were once free.

    • Nadzieja Batki

Couching your language but you are still a Socialist and of the mindset of human predators who foment worthless revolutions wherein the nations end up with bigger tyrants than are already in existance. Who are the kings of industry and the nobility that you are so concerned about and who made you messiah of the poor or the middle class?

      • Justsomeguy151

^ ^ ^ Ignore this Libtard lying backstabbing traitor. If anything criticizes Obumma, these moronic zombies are programmed to defend him.

I read Wayne Allyn Root’s book and he is right down the line correct in his assumptions. Our current president set out to collapse the system in the exact manner we see today. When have you seen an all time high stock market with employment figures like we have today? Gold/Silver prices are high and much higher than they should be with a Dow over 15,000. Everything is disconnect precisely because the Uber wealthy are crony capitalists and Obama is feeding them with our tax dollars. If we were in such good shape, why would the FED need to “print” 85 billion with a “B” dollars every month? Free Markets fix themselves if left alone. When you are trying to collapse the Capitalist system here in the US, one has to have the super rich donating to your causes and getting kickbacks from the govt.
Obama is obliging at the price of the middle class. He wants the middle class gone, folks. Have more money in your pocket these days? Not likely, unless you are a super wealthy investor. How about those food and energy prices? See any decline in sight? Gas prices have doubled and then some over the past 5 years. Does your dollar go as far as it used to? How could it? When Bernanke is printing play monopoly money to artificially prop up the economy it devalues our currency every month. This is not going to end well for anyone except the rich. The poor, or millions in the middle will eventually get shoved down onto the govt handout breadlines waiting for the EBT cards so they can survive. When the govt collapses, and it will eventually at this rate, how will those on the govt paychecks with our tax dollars, survive. Simple answer; they won’t! Pick up Wayne’s book and enlighten yourselves before time runs out and you get stuck without the chair in Obama’s and the Fed’s Musical Chairs.

    • Deerinwater

The “system” was deep in the process of collapse prior too 2008 Nov. election. ~ So why blame 44 for this ? I would not think that I’d be required to remind you of such matters if you arrive here with some knowledge of recent history. ~ Been out of town, ~just awake for a deep coma?

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stock_market_crash

But feel free to be misinformed and misguided ~

We have learned to not interfere with opposition that is “hell bent” on destroying itself”.

Carry on, ~ as you were.

      • Justsomeguy151

Except what yr conveniently ignoring is ALL of it could have been reversed if Only Obumma had lived up to his PROMISES. He is an abysmal failure by any standard of measure and hes EXACTLY like treasonous lying murderous war criminal Bush jr.

        • JeffH

          Hear, hear!

A reminder…1913 Federal Reserve created by the Rothschilds Banking Cabal.

“Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes the laws.” – Mayer Amschel Rothschild

The Federal Reserve and its monetary policy, does play a significant role in each of our lives. After all, the Fed controls the nation’s money.

Inflation … that’s prices going up, right? Nope. Inflation is an increase in the money supply, without an equal increase in available goods and services. In other words, it’s counterfeiting!

When the Fed “prints” money, it affects your dollar in the same way as a counterfeiter’s dollar would – the value of your dollar declines. Prices do increase, but only because the dollar in your pocket isn’t as valuable as it was before (meaning it takes more dollars to buy the same goods and services).

Inflation is not occurrence either. It’s a deliberate act by the Federal Reserve … to STEAL your wealth. This is not a conspiracy theory. It’s “just the facts, ma’am.”
          – Mises Daily

        • Karolyn

The fact is NO President can live up to his promises. Once they get to Washington, all bets are off.

          • Native Blood

Karolyn, your assertion is correct. The lobbyists make it a point to pay the POTUS off in the very beginning with campaign support and they have a lot of IOUs to repay.

          • Justsomeguy151

WRONG. He easily could have lived up to his promises, just as any politician could. He CHOSE not to. Because when he made them, he was LYING. But no one knew that he was a fraud because the LSM refused to investigate his Muslim, socialist, communist and terrorist ties. He doesn’t work for us, he works for the Rothschilds/Federal Reserve/Banksters, just like Bush jr and most of the other puppets before them.

        • Deerinwater

Could you rephrase that? ~ I’m not certain of your meaning. ~ It’s true, that 44 much like all “stumping hopeful” offer the American people items and ambitious hopes that he intended to address if he was elected to office.

While I do not believe that McCain, Obama, the sitting congress at the time was completely aware as to how awfully bad the state of the economy actually was at the time.

McCain at later as Sept. 208 states the economy is fundamentally sound

          http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1056475/McCain-calls-U-S-economy-fundamentally-sound-day-Lehman-Brothers-declared-bankrupt.html

          • Justsomeguy151

You are giving them far too much credit as if they are innocents. They know EXACTLY what dire straits this nation is in, they should know, they’re the CAUSE of it! There is literally a laundry list of things that could be done to save America but they will not be done because that goes against their bosses’ plans. Obumma, like Bush jr, is trying to divide, destroy and bankrupt America. They’re not doing everything wrong because “they don’t know any better” but because that is the plan. Believe what you want but the fact is that even if they WERE just incompetent, the law of averages says they’d be right about something part of the time or do something right, even on accident. But it NEVER happens, meanwhile we give BILLIONS away to our enemies and on waste. If businesses ran like our economy does, everybody’d go out of business.

          • Deerinwater

By no means is any branch of government of either party “innocent:”. ~ “Justsomeguy” ~ While I don’t personally believe they (politicians) knew just how delicate things were in late of 2008. There was a prevailing climate on the Hill ~ of some sorts of “grab-fest” that had been going on for sometime. ~ Everyone wanting to “Tap In” to some funding.

I personally believe that many on the Hill had a hand in this Sub Prime Mortgage debacle. Newt Gingrich, Barney Frank are names that keep popping up , while there were many others on both sides of the isle racking in and capturing what they could.

I’m not a economist ~ and can only speculate as to why “The Music Stopped” and as people lost their earning ability they defaulted on loans.

Some people seen this Sub prime lending as a major factor to the down turn and it well might be the straw that broke the camels back.

While in my little neck of the woods, Sub Prime loans were not that popular yet we have seen a gradual down turn in living conditions and lost of discretionary spending power in the private sector since the mid 80″s. ~ It’s been a very slow gradual downturn, almost too slow to notice ~ until you view a span of 10 or 15 years.

But one must consider regional economic conditions does not always reflect what is happening all across the nation. As new opportunities are created ~ new immigration can consume them ~ While I might not personally benefit, in fact, ~ it might cost me ~ as your region might accepted 10,000 new mouths to fed. leaving you to compete with them. Any regional “upturn” could well be a personal “downturn”.

” The explosive growth across Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington and much of Texas isn’t slowing down.

The 2 percent uptick pushed the Metroplex population to 6,700,991.

Since the April 1, 2010, census, DFW’s growth spurt is even more impressive: The population has increased by 4.3 percent, or 274,781 people.

Long Gone ~ was the Texas that I grew up in, ~ These people came from somewhere! And we have accepted them, lock, stock and barrel. That’s the way we are in Texas. They might not have been born here but they got here as fast as they could.

I see NAFT hurting us. ~ I see anyone making less then 25,000.00 per years void a strong voice in government, until election time.

I see a corny capitalism. I see where Americans have to both work and live in a predatory climate. It not hard to spend more then you make as personal liability is being differed to us by others. ~ our rights are to be proved in a court of law where we lack the funds to compete for these “rights”

      • Capiratlist at Birth

You are correct in stating that it is not ALL Obama’s fault, but he is deliberately attempting to hasten the end of what was once considered a free market economy. It began the slow decline in a slide to fascism under Abraham Lincoln, Of course, nearly every President and Congress since has contributed to the descent. The exceptions are: silent Cal, J.F. K,, and Reagan. All of the others were totalitarian socialists to one degree or another. We have been experimenting long enough. The ending pop of this bubble will be deafening. But, you knew that already?

      • Guest

You are totally right this is a two party assault against the fabric of our society. As much as I would like to blame Obama you don’t see the GOP doing anything to stop his out of control spending and assault on our rights. It was Bush that came up with the Patriot Act and now with NDAA and all the rest we are set up for marshall law as soon as we complain. Don’t fool yourself the Clintons are into it too Hillary would be the worst thing this country has ever seen eve worse than Obummer and Bush. God help our children!

  • Chester

Don’t know what world Mr. Root is dreaming in, but down here in the dirt, things ARE improving. Factories are expanding or reopening, goods are being produced, sold, transported, and resold. In the last five years truck traffic on the interstates has doubled or more, and those guys don’t run those rigs up and down the road for the fun of it. Open nearly any paper to the want ads and you will find people BEGGING for over the road drivers, some going so far as to offer five to ten thousand dollar sign on bonuses. Don’t care WHAT he thinks, that isn’t all paid for by government spending.

    • Ladi Di

think outside the cab of your truck. It is not about your area of work it is expanded across america. If you don’t have a perfect driving record, and a clear back ground check you will not be hired.

Right! Chester’s glass is only half full! No need for excitement or appreciation for a glass half full when some have none!

Rising water raises all boats ~ while rising water does not reach every boat at the same instant.

        • speedle

Oh really? Tell us Darwan about your little civil engineering anecdote. Seems to me that “rising water” reaches all boats at exactly the same instant (unless the rising water is the result of a tsunami. And even if your anecdote were applicable, it’s better that the water eventually get to all boats than never at all.

          • Deerinwater

Well, ~ it doesn’t ~ fortunately ~ irregardless of how it seems to you,~ where it be water, funding or electricity. ~ the tides ebb and flow. ~ Head waters of rivers takes weeks to get to the sea. The term instant, means instant. You are taking liberty with the word.

          • speedle

I am using the word as it is intended with regard to this subject, and that is not a scientific essay on tides and river deltas. The simple hypothesis is that a healthy economy raises all boats for both the wealthy and the working poor. The only people that have a problem with that are people who envy the wealthy because they are wealthy. More taxes means slow or no growth. Boats get lowered the same way they rise, equally.

          • Deerinwater

So please explain to us what happen to the growth that was suppose to occur with GW”s Tax cut? As the US economy tanked Oct of 2008 after 4 years of Federal Tax cuts across the board?

          • Deerinwater

And don’t confuse envy with hate for a thief by however means, Swindler, Fraud, Chiseler , Extortioner .or Blackmail

rising water only gets to all boats at the same time if the world is flat.

            Speedle,

Sorry, little civil engineering anecdote is actually a physics anecdote, the civil engineer would say the glass contains 50% of it’s intended design capacity.

Actually..the glass is half full…either half full of water, or half full of air.

            Yom Flash,
that takes it to another level. Are you pro-air or pro H2O or Anti Air or Anti-H2O or is the fact that the glass exist just another ad hominem?

There has been no tidal wave of commerce here in Texas either. ~ Yet! people keeping moving here by the droves ~ This tells me but one thing. ~ The commerce is here ~ but it being diluted in my 30 mile area of operations. Where people stop moving here and finding jobs a housing ~ we will be on a decline. If I were to move closer toward Dallas there would be much more opportunity ~ but longer hours to do the same amount of work and higher expenses.

I’m staying put, where I have established a name recognition and customer base and weather it out.

i don’t require a large income anymore. ~ thank God for if I were I’d be in deep dodo. being on the Tail end of a life cycle needs to have some advantages beside an Old Geezer discount at McDonalds! ~ I refuse such things ~ but my mother thinks that just grand! She is 16 and half years older than I am. ~ Maybe in 16 years I will change my mind about old Geezer discounts?

          • Bob666

            Yo Darwin,
I travel a lot-both on business and pleasure and I love the geezer discounts at Hotels and Restaurants. I also have to admit that I am a tightwad at heart.

Government spending and money printing almost without limits cannot possibly end well for the American people, but economic chaos could be exactly what a would-be dictator needs to destroy our faith in ourselves and the American dream.

  • Patriot_Dave

Mr Root has Masterfully painted the US economic landscape in intricate detail!!!… Unfortunately he seems to suffer with a bit of ‘GOP’ induced myopia as the causes of this Great 21st century Depression goes back well into 20th century as groundwork for this ‘operation’ was laid down by GHW Bush, aided by WJ Clinton and finally set into motion by GW Bush in the post 9-11 era… Yes BH Obama is doing most all of the things that Root suggests. But what Root isn’t saying is just as important!! Our government processes have been hijacked by the Super RICH and THEY will USE anybody, any party and anything that suits THEIR desire to get even RICHER and more powerful to push the US into this TWO class system. So before you go about bantering that this is all Obama’s fault do yourself and our Republic the favor of looking behind the scenes to see who the real players/destroyers are…These Puppet Masters do their best to hide but they leave traces. Think Tanks, Foundations and Special Interest groups that promote THEIR PLANs are the places to start. Conservatives, especially the far right wing fringe have been brainwashed into believing that these Super Rich will somehow save them so they work diligently to protect them. The far left fringe, notwithstanding, simply wants them gone so they can push their ideologies but make no mistake they are in the same ‘game’ for the same reasons…. This truly is a battle for the hearts, minds and the pocketbooks of MIDDLE AMERICA…. If the policies set forth of lowering taxes to the wealthy were to actually work then the wealthy have FAILED their country and their fellow citizens. They are NOT the JOB producers as Promised, they instead are the harbingers of our own economic destruction by demanding profit from anywhere they can get it!! Including bloating government just ‘feed’ off from it at the cost of the middle class. To This ‘class’ of people the only thing that matters is the money and the power it brings with it…..I don’t matter to them, YOU don’t matter to them, WE THE PEOPLE simply don’t matter to THEM!!! We are now ‘Beneath the Wheel’ and we will be crushed unless this ends.

    • Don 2

I believe your vision of Conservatives is quite distorted. If anyone is brainwashed, it is the Obamaphone folks, only interested in getting what they can for free, w/o having to work for it.

As a Conservative, and I have never, ever, believed that the “Super Rich” will somehow save me from anything, no more than the government is capable of saving me. Conservatives that I know have individually, and willingly, worked hard for what they have.

The “Super Rich” you refer to are not responsible for providing you with a job, any more than you are responsible for providing me with a job. Why would you think that you should matter to someone just because they are rich? I am not rich, but you do not matter to me either, anymore than I matter to you. If I were a rich man, I probably wouldn’t try to open a business in this ‘regulation nation’ either. I would go where a government was more business friendly, where I didn’t have to deal with union slugs and thugs. After all, the idea is to make money, not go bankrupt.

      • Native Blood

How about paying your share of taxes? This country is at war with a budget tied to the military industrial complex. Last major war (WWII) the tax rate was very different and perhaps we need to return to that policy if our budget persists in supporting massive defense spending.

        • Nadzieja Batki

Security costs for a nation are not so much as the costs of the entitlements. I am curious why you would leave this nation defenseless?

          • Native Blood

Ms. Batki! My statement goes without saying! If you want the level of defense that we enjoy today, be willing to pay the price. That revenue comes in the place of taxes, serious taxes. Entitlements, e.g. military retirement and Social security are paid by those who benefit by them. The trust funds were squandered when congress put the source of taxes into the general fund and subsequently pilfered.

Defense spending would be much cheaper if a fair price was paid for weapons systems and maybe staying out of interfering with sovereign nations and turning the entire middle east against us. Fewer men and women on both sides would be dead and maimed as a result.

          • Bob666

            Yo Nads,
it was bound to happen at sometime in the future, we agree on something for a change.

          • Karolyn

Just like the other departments, the DOD is filled with wasteful spending also. Why should it not be cut. We do not need to have military in many of the countries they are stationed to start with. I don’t think that cutting the DOD budget would ever leave us “defenseless.”

        • Katrael

Paying taxes won’t save us. You could tax every man, woman and child at 100% and it still wouldn’t save us. If you give a politician a dollar he’ll waste it and if you give him all of your dollars he’ll still waste them. That’s the nature of politicians. I’ll bet that Don pays far more than his share in taxes.

      • Patriot_Dave

My vision of Conservatism is quite intact!! It’s the fringe Right Wing elements that claims to be conservative but they only serve their own desires for greed and power that I have a problem with… Same goes for the fringe LEFT wingers as well they are about as progressive as Whale SH!T!!! Those of US that stand in the Middle of the road have a much better view of both Right and Left…. and BOTH extremes are culpable here! You can PLAY the Left vs Right Blame game all day long and never fix a DAMN thing!!!… It’s time to wake up and see what is really happening vs sitting back and choosing a side!!! This is not a Game…. It is OUR future at stake!!!! We have been sold bills of goods for far too long… “Trickle Down Economics is the way” Nope failed!!! “The UN is our friend” wrong again!!! “Lowering taxes (again) for the wealthy will spur job growth!”…. EEEEHHHH!!!! Failed again!! “Hope and Prosperity” Nope just the Ultra wealthy getting MORE wealthy…. “Axis of Evil” “Read my lips… No NEW taxes” ” You didn’t build that” “it was a reaction to a youtube video” The deceptions go on and on and on….. and YOU can do is point your finger at the ‘Other Side’ and PROCLAIM that THEY are WRONG……

        • Native Blood

A man with vision! Good insight David! I love it when a person on this green earth can see through the left/right paradigm! Spread the good word…someone here on this forum sees through the bull and the murky waters!
          Thank you sir!

        • Karolyn

Too bad the politicians don’t see it that way.

        • Katrael

It’s my experience as a fence builder that looking to the right then the left produces distortion. The best way to view the whole business if from one end or the other. Your views are distorted. The rich won’t save us and the poor certainly won’t do it either. The only way to save this country is to make it a country that actually produces something. There are many out there, like Don above out, that work hard because that’s what needs to be done. If you want to be saved you’ll have to save yourself with work.

Taxes, you apparently don’t know anything about how taxes work, who pays them and how they stimulate or don’t stimulate the economy.

    • vicki

Actually the plan was laid out over the times you specify but not by the politicians you claim. (Other than B. Clinton)

Nice ad for your book Wayne. Good bit of shameless promotion never hurt anyone. I’m wondering if you’ve quit the Republican party and gone back to the Linertarians or are you waiting to make more powerful and accurate election predictions after promoting your book.
While the research here is very convincing it’s a shame you’ve lost your credibility and still keep going and going and going. And yes….Obama is not a socialist he is a Marxist and so are the Clintons. Facism works for them.

  • hungry4food

How come the Federal Reserve could not do for Bush what they
are doing for Obama regarding keeping the economy going so 2008 did not happen and wipe out everyone’s lives ?????

    • Txblackjack

The main reason is that Pres Bush & the Republican Minority would not stick the taxpayers with the uncollectable debt bomb and put a sunset clause on the TARP bill. Obama & the Progressive Majority are responsible for removing that clause and their “intent” has never waivered or changed, the fundamental transformation through these 1960’s radical ideology including Keynesian economics, Alinsky Rule strategy & tactics. These entrenched card carrying Communist have ripped off their mask and slammed wide open their Pandora’s Box with their Manchurian Candidate.
We the People must unite and remove these Despots and replace them with a new Guard. The Declaration of Independence states : “it is our right & our duty”. We must DENY them the Legislative Branch Majority.

I think the Feds propping up of
the US and EU markets is because of the struggle in the Middle East and keeping
the Dollar in Place as the pricing tool for oil…

Looks to me that all the

to keep the dollar the relevant pricing tool in the international oil markets ,
and that is whats leading to all the breakdowns in the process of rule of law .

      • hungry4food

The Only thing thats changed is the federal Reserve has Picked up the Private sectors debt that made up the Housing market buying the housing bubble collapse away from the banks and they are also Buying Obamas debt so he can continue to fund his efforts in the Middle East to rally allied factions like the brotherhood away from Russia all in the name of keeping the Oil priced in Dollars … something Bush was Persecuted for . Wayne Allen root, “Romney in a landslide” former bookie, hypes another book using his usual formula. Create something to fear, make up facts and twist reality to hype the fear, warn what’s
ahead because of the fear…and then buy his book and he’ll tell you
the cure. Main point is, twice mentioned at the end…buy his book.

One by one…Roots ‘talking points which flirt with Four Pinnochio’s.

“Obama is the biggest spender in world history, adding $6 trillion to the debt in only four years.”

No…Bush II gave Obama this budget. Fact is, during his presidency, the level of federal spending has increased at the SLOWEST pace in the modern era. Get that? The slowest in the modern era. Take out the debt Reagan and Bush II gave us…and we’d be on Easy Street. Get that? Conservative policies piled us with the debt we have, and the deficit spending we have. Deny an claim otherwise as only a rabid crazy will…fact is fact.

“on Main Street the real economy is dying. There are no jobs. There is no recovery. ”

Errrr…Obviously ol’ Root hasn’t been on Main Street in awhile (busy hawking his books no doubt). Or he is making things up or refusing to tell what the underlying causes are…because, of course, you wouldn’t buy his book.

Yes, those businesses who are “doing it the way I’ve done it for years” are struggling. They haven’t adapted to the new efficiencies the market place has been revamped to. Those who have adapted, are not struggling to find business, but are struggling to keep up with the growing demand for their
product and services. the problem is, the struggling businesses are
more…since the small business owner tends to be in their 50’s and a “tweener”…that time period when the switchover to the internet and e-marketing were in their infancies and they were too old to learn/become comfortable with them.

    Try
this…walk into a small business you know. Ask the owner…do you
integrate your credit card transactions with your accounting software?
How often are you tweaking your webpage? What are you using for your Search Engine Optimization? What is your e-marketing campaign? If they don’t have a bright and intricate answer…chances are
business (profits) isn’t increasing much. those are the surface
indications..and if they aren’t doing those basics, odds are they aren’t
doing the mid and deep level efficiencies.

Again…it’s not their business acumen that is at fault, nor the economy. It’s they were born as a “tweener”, not comfortable with the change to the new era of economic efficiencies.

“The middle class is being systematically destroyed.”

    From the time Reagan
declared war on the middle class…this is true. Now? It’s plain as
day, this administration, and that of Clinton, both took the sides of the Middle Class, taking steps to halt the redistribution of wealth from the Middle Class to the elite…and the crazies went nuts. They were told to fear a strong Middle Class..that the true Path lay with giving everything to the wealthy, and trust them to spend it for the benefit of the lower classes. How dare Clinton, and now Obama, oppose the wealthy being made into nobility and the Middle Class their serfs!

“At the same time, government keeps interest rates artificially low to
pump up home and car sales — and to keep the interest on the national
debt from eating up the entire budget.”

Artificially low? Seriously Wayne? OK..I know you’re hawking your book and relying upon te ignorance and desires to leap believing anything anti American, but seriously you really want to uneducate people and dumb them down?

Think about it folks. Who sets interest rates? Amongst
the extremists, it would be that evil Federal Reserve. The question
they won’t ask is…what rate does the Fed actually ‘set”?

Reality is…those who lend and those who borrow set the rates. The lender analyzes the risk, the borrower decides if they will accept the offered interest rate for the loan. The fed is involved only in setting the federal funds rate. That’s the interest rate at which banks and financial institutions actively trade balances held at the Federal Reserve. The “Prime rate” is determined by individual banks. And so on…

Artificially low? Ummmm….just remember, Root is hawking his book and relying on the ignorance of the readers

“What’s the end game? First, all this spending and printing is to prevent
    economic collapse and total panic.”

This is so far fetched and asking the reader to believe in Armageddon it’s near National Enquirer material. Wait…it is below National Enquirer quality. In a captured market, one which our economyis far from being, (think China for a “working” example of a captured market, N. korea for a “non working” example), the main driving force determining economic growth would be the state.
In the US and Western economic world, the free market determines
economic collapse or growth. The state “buffers” the effects and
extremes of the rise and fall…it does not cause it.

    The state has a
huge impact in economic affairs, yes. Look at the sequestration given
us courtesy of the lunatic fringe. it will stifle the growth of GDP by
about 1.0% for this year. but given the extent government has given us
those beenfits which we ALL ENJOY, the disappearance of government monies in the economy is impossible unless a complete revolution occurs and the entire world structure falls into chaos and violence. What
the government is trying to accomplish is keeping us from what the
austerity of European Governments shows what would occur. Economic malaise as economies struggle to recover from the debacle caused by the Conservative regimes of Reagan and Bush II.

“Second, it’s to achieve the Marxist
dream: redistribution of wealth to Obama’s voters and contributors.
Third (and this is the big one), it’s to create a two-class society.” Oh gawd…fear fear fear ! this is the secret plan ! Buy my book! buy my book !

“Karl Marx hated the middle class. He felt they needed to be eliminated to create equality, fairness and social justice” This isn’t even close to what Marx wrote. Not even. Anyone who read the writings of Marx and Engels knows this. I’m not saying we should attempt to install the system Marx called for…but
realize Root is trying to connect this administration and Keynesian
economics to a boogy man rant. be scared, be scared..by my book..buy my
    book.

“You can find my best-selling book,..” yes, Wayne….we know already. you want people to buy your book. that’s the reason you wrote this trash of an article…

What you are attempting is to blame this President for fixing what you and your ilk broke. Avoidance of responsibility is the extremist first rule of thumb…it’s everyone else’s fault.

As for the rest being a rant…I take it you want to believe Armageddon is coming so buy guns and ammo. the ‘us versus them’ mindset and “them” is the Nation,

        And no solutions…

Avoid responsibility, blame everyone else, create a fear driven “us versus them’ mindset, and offer no rational solutions. Yep…TP and the American Taliban sure got to you didn’t they?

        • JeffH

Falsy says “What you are attempting is to blame this President for fixing what you and your ilk broke.”

Hmmmm, kinda tough to fix something if O’man refuses to work on fixing it.

Pushed for passage of card check legislation that would infringe upon the rights of workers and make the United States a less desirable place to open a business.

Created a new rule requiring every employer to post notices on union“rights,” (found illegal by a federal court in April).

Changed rules on unionization votes so the majority of employees no longer need to vote to unionize, allowing easier unionization.

Required every individual to buy health insurance as part of his healthcare reform, which the Congressional Budget Office says will cost twice as much as the White House originally advertised.

Proposed a seven percent hiring quota for “disabled” workers in every job category for government contractors, creating a new expensive burden to doing business with government.

Expanded the definition of “disabled” to include people with diabetes and heart disease, among others, and specified new quotas for hiring under this definition.

Opposed “repatriation” of U.S. corporate profits made overseas (and already taxed), thus encouraging U.S. companies to invest those profits in foreign enterprises.

Proposed higher taxes for business-use airplanes, raising the cost of many U.S. operations.

Advocated for the “Buffett Rule,” which would discourage U.S. investment and barely dent the deficit.

Perpetuated the fraud of “green jobs” to sell and justify stimulus funds with little evidence to support the market for these jobs.

Investigated leading U.S. companies, such as Amazon, Apple, Google, Intel and Qualcomm, which encouraged other countries to do the same.

The point is that the Obama Administration has hurt business interests and job creation. While President Obama and his administration aren’t solely responsible for America’s economic turmoil, they have definitely hurt much more than they helped.

List of Failed Obama Green Energy & Solar Companies in the Billions.

The 2009 stimulus set aside $80 billion to subsidize politically preferred energy projects. Since that time, 1,900 investigations have been opened to look into stimulus waste, fraud, and abuse (although not all are linked to the green-energy funds), and nearly 600 convictions have been made. Of that $80 billion in clean energy loans, grants, and tax credits, at least 10 percent has gone to companies that have since either gone bankrupt or are circling the drain.

The complete list of faltering or bankrupt green-energy companies:

            Evergreen Solar ($25 million)*

            SpectraWatt ($500,000)*

            Solyndra ($535 million)*

            Beacon Power ($43 million)*

            Nevada Geothermal ($98.5 million)

            SunPower ($1.2 billion)

            First Solar ($1.46 billion)

            Babcock and Brown ($178 million)

            EnerDel’s subsidiary Ener1 ($118.5 million)*

            Amonix ($5.9 million)

            ECOtality ($126.2 million)

            Raser Technologies ($33 million)*

            Energy Conversion Devices ($13.3 million)*

            Mountain Plaza, Inc. ($2 million)*

The one about Corp tax rates is a doozy…

            http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/economic-intelligence/2012/04/04/the-truth-about-corporate-tax-rates

The real issue lies in understanding the huge gap between the “nominal rate” (the list price) and the “real rate” (the tax rate that most companies actually pay.) These two rates diverge widely. The nominal federal tax rate on the largest corporations is now 35 percent. State taxes, on average, bump this to 39.2 percent. This nominal rate ranks as the highest among developed countries.
[However, no major company really pays the nominal rate—just as no one walks into a car dealership expecting to pay sticker price. Big companies enjoy a huge buffet of credits, shelters, deductions, and other preferences that reduce their rate to an average of 13 percent. Many profitable companies pay no federal income tax at all. Regardless of our nominal rate, our real corporate tax rate is among the lowest. Further cuts cannot stimulate growth.”

            Lie #1

The jobs created by Keystone is lie #2. The long term outlook is 35 permanent jobs

            http://www.csmonitor.com/Environment/Energy-Voices/2013/0308/Keystone-XL-pipeline-will-create-35-permanent-jobs-State-Department-says
LOL… Oh poor Jeffrey needs to go back to the gun range to squeeze off a few more rounds so he can think straight.

          • vicki

What is truly amusing to me is that Corporations do not now, never have and never will pay corporate taxes. The Consumer pays all supposed corporate taxes.

          • Flashy

          • vicki

            ad hominem

          • Dave

That is true Vicki, that is why Cap Gains need to be done away with while making sure people do not get to hide their money in the company to get out of paying taxes.
But that said, the US is still one of the lowest corp tax countries in the world when it comes down to what they ACUALLY pay contray to Jeffrey’s source. But I do give him credit for trying.

          • Katrael

I wouldn’t have posted what I did if I had read your post first. I agree that corporations don’t pay taxes. They pass the tax money collected from the consumer onto the fed.

          • JeffH

            POLLY WANT A RACKER? bbbaaarrraaaccckkkkkk!

          • Katrael

Corporations don’t pay taxes and never will. The consumer pays all of the taxes. The successful corporations find ways to pass those taxes onto the consumer in the cost of their products and services. It does benefit the corporation when they get a tax break only because it means they can provide a cheaper product or service than their competition.

          • vicki

And that is how government controls which corporations are successful. By giving tax breaks to corporations that do what government wants.

          • Bob666

            OK Vicki,
Care to cite an example of this?

          • Katrael

It would seem that the game is rigged. However, some corporations don’t make it even with massive influxes of government funny money.

          • Deerinwater

True Vicky, ~ in fact the carrot or stick or reward or penalty is how government controls everything and for good reason. It’s just about the only thing that can be counted on to get people responding consistently.

It’s the nature of people to do what they “want to do” and that is not always what the should do.

          • vicki

who defines what people “should” do? In a truly free society governments only role is to protect us individually and collectively from force or fraud. When government begins to use force to get people to do what a few lobbyists want then you have a tyranny of a minority.

          • Deerinwater

people can’t be “made” to do anything. ~ While they can be made to wish they had.

          • vicki

Sure they can. You can’t make them think what you want but you can certainly make do what you want. Simple force is all that is required.

It is this kind of treatment that the gun does not create. The gun solves by putting ability to resist force effectively in the hands of the intended victim.

          • Katrael

Well Flashy, it’s you who failed econ 101. Your showing your true ignorance here. Apparently you don’t understand what it means to make a profit and where those profits come from. Oh never mind flashy, you’re a product of the warp their mind culture. In other words you went to public school where they filled your head with fairy tales and lies about such things. I guess you didn’t manage to learn how to read either as I wrote about all corporations both the ones who survive and manage to pass all tax costs onto an unsuspecting and lied to population and those that fail. Businesses fail for a number of reasons and not just due to taxes and over-regulation so don’t go there.

Washington is engaged in a massive “campaign” to make Americans believe the economy is in recovery. But in reality, the United States is at the brink of a devastating economic crash that will cause catastrophic market losses and impoverish millions.

“The problem with politicians is they don’t want to level with the voters and tell them how bad the economy really is and what the cure for the disease is,” Schiff said. The “disease” is a toxic combination of our massive $17 trillion debt and the Fed’s continued devaluing of the dollar through its controversial 7-year long “easing” program. The Fed is currently purchasing $85 billion a month in Treasury and mortgage bonds, a form of stimulus.

President Obama and like-minded politicians claim this stimulus has pushed the economy forward, boosting GDP and keeping inflation low. But Schiff says “it’s another lie.”

In fact, according to Schiff, the government has done nothing more than create a “phony” economy that is “completely dependent on the ability to borrow more money that we can’t pay back.”

“The Fed knows that the U.S. economy is not recovering,” Schiff said. “It simply is being kept from collapse by artificially low interest rates and quantitative easing. As that support goes, the economy will implode.”

“The crisis is imminent,” Schiff said. “I don’t think Obama is going to finish his second term without the bottom dropping out. And stock market investors are oblivious to the problems.”

Nah, reality Jeffrey… When GALT exposed WAR and said some things that that WAR didn’t like, He, RBT both got stern warnings from Bob. But Freedom Fighter, Samauri, and a whole host of regulars here slam people like myself who do not follow the program that the authors here try and put forth, with ad hominems, slander, lies… in other words “repeated violations of the commentary rules” as Bob would say, these attacks are allowed to stand. Only when they get truly vile does Bob act.
But I like the fact that Bob does this because it exposes his true colors… Its is not the libertarian he pretends to be… or is it conservative? The definition changes so much.
Did you get to feel more like a man today because you squeezed off a few rounds Jeffrey? I hope the therapy is going well.

The comment policy clearly makes the point that, among other things, “… or slanderous comments toward the author(s) or comment participants” will not be tolerated.

Your little conspiracy theory is just that! Most of us here have experienced “deleted comments” since PLD has stepped up their comment moderating…but you’d rather whine about it than face the truth of it all.

Now I know you’re not sharp enough to figure it out on your own so keep attacking the authors and the website owner…you’ll be rewarded handsomely for your efforts.

Just stating the reality Bob… You are free to censor whomever you wish… you are the moderator on this public accessable site… You have creative license with the “rules”. If I had your ego and desire to control the debate, I would be angry too at anyone questioning my “wisdom”.

I hope my lesson about liberals and the differences between liberal, socialist, communism and Marxism gained some traction with you because it sure has not with your cohorts. But then again, the more fantastical claims, the more speaking engagements WAR gets, the more money you make because you have an eager bunch that blindly “believe”.

          • http://personalliberty.com/ Bob Livingston

            Dear Dave,

You write: “Just stating the reality Bob.” No. You are not.

You write: “I hope my lesson about liberals and the differences between liberal, socialist, communism and Marxism gained some traction with you because it sure has not with your cohorts.” What it showed was that you are a typical progressive who changes the meaning of words to suit your agenda and has no understanding of the difference between a conservative and a Republican.

You write: “But then again, the more fantastical claims, the more speaking engagements WAR gets, the more money you make because you have an eager bunch that blindly ‘believe’.” The fascination that you and other progressives have with my “money” and how and whether I make any is truly astonishing. Mr. Livingston…I'm not disgareeing with you, but perhaps you should reflect upon the censorship practiced on this site and the differing standards applied to the extremists and Libertarians versus the Moderates and Progressives.

I understand though. If you applied the same standards to the extremists and Libertarians posting on this site that you do to folks such as Dave, KG, RBT, myself etc…you'd have nary a post intact.

As i see it…it is a source of pride that those named can apply the truth, facts and logic without having to dwell in the land of barbaric and crude language that the aforementioned extremists and Libertarians cannot rise above.

As always, the Moderates and Progressives lead by civilized manners and intelligent thought. We don't have to resort to denigrating ourselves and our beliefs slamming those who disagree.

          • http://personalliberty.com/ Bob Livingston

            Dear Flashy,

You write: “I’m not disgareeing (sic) with you, but perhaps you should reflect upon the censorship practiced on this site and the differing standards applied to the extremists and Libertarians versus the Moderates and Progressives” I can assure you that moderation is reflected upon daily. You have no idea what does not make it through the filters, nor how many commenters you would consider “right wing” that are blacklisted regularly. There are no double standards. But as I told Dave and some others, if you are unhappy with the way comments are moderated, feel free to leave at any time.

            Best wishes,
            Bob

          • Dave

Thats a big difference. I provide the technology that allows your site to be up and running as well as maintained. I am very good at my job too. I am happy to sell you services that automate the moderation so everyone is treated equally if you care to be a bit more even handed in your moderation.
If I change the meaning of the term Liberal, Socialist, Communist and Marxist, then by all means… Correct me.
It also seems to me that when a conservative screws up in your “all knowing eyes” the person becomes a neo-con and is kicked out of the conservative club. Very convenient. Have you ever used the term neo-liberal to describe a Democrat? If you have, please present it in its context.

Obama was a self-proclaimed revolutionary Marxist when he entered Occidental College. Obama also studied under Asst. Prof. Richard Cloward and other radical professors while at Columbia U. Obama is implementing the Cloward and Piven Strategy on America…..overwhelm the system until it collapses. Wake up folks, we’re on “The Road To Serfdom.”

  • Angry American

It is too late now if you ask me. Right and Left and Center. All the “hope and change” in the world can’t save a country from 17 trillion in debt. We can blame Bush; we can blame Obama. I don’t care either way. Economy collapses? I know how to live without a grocery store, and in fact, I’m not entitled to live at all if I can’t fend for myself. Government tries to take over my liberties? Come try, and kill me if you can. I’m not screwing around with any of the parties. Every politician, left, right, and centrist is human. Every human has desires, dishonesty, and personal interests. The difference being that politicians have the power to enact those interests without regard to the American people. They can make up statistics and wave all sorts of things in the face of the people to convince them of their causes. Forget it. I subscribe to my survival, my family’s survival, and my closest friends’ survival. The government is a moot point.

Angry American: All the “hope and change” in the world can’t save a country from 17 trillion in debt.

Boston University economist Laurence Kotlikoff says U.S. government debt is not $13.5-17 trillion (U.S.), which is 60% of current gross domestic product, as global investors and American taxpayers think, but rather 14-fold higher: $200-trillion – 840% of current GDP. “Let’s get real,” Prof. Kotlikoff says. “The U.S. is bankrupt.”

Does Mr WAR talk about lightening regulations on credit, lending and wall street (the stuff that caused the mess?) Of course not.

Does Mr WAR insist that country’s that do business with the United States means you play by the same sets of rules? Of Course Not

      • Bob666

So, it looks like you are back to being the ad hominem police again.

    • Michael Shreve

As soon as you shift the blame to some OTHER president, you lose the argument.

“We are in an Obama Great Depression masked by government spending and debt that didn’t exist during the first Great Depression.” No, Mr. Root, there was considerable government deficit spending by the FDR admin during the Great Depression and even more massive deficits during World War II that immediately followed. And FDR was condemned as a socialist who was leading America to absolute ruin and debt even though 30 years of unprecedented prosperity emerged from his policies – and he won election after election over his conservative rivals. To compare these 2 periods is ludicrous. In the Bush/Obama recession, GDP dropped around 8% at the trough and unemployment was 10%. During the Great Depression GDP dropped nearly 60% and official unemployment reached 25%. If you include the underemployed, ti was well over 40%. Also the Earned Income Credit that you rail against was created by your hero, Ronald Reagan, in his 1986 Tax Reform Bill, it is a conservative idea.

Your lack of knowledge is astounding.

      • vicki

It would help if you were to point out where. FDR did win election after election (4 of them) but died in office before the 22 Amendment was proposed.

      • WTS/JAY

That goes without saying. But he makes up for the “lack” with creative writing skills, or as i like to call it; bullcr*p!

      • Bob666

Actually Greg, his post makes far more sense than yours do.

The prosperity this country enjoyed after FDR’s reign of terror had nothing to do with his policies. This country enjoyed it’s prosperity in spite of FDR because of what we took from the earth. All wealth comes from the earth, the sun and sweat equity. As the victors of war we had access to the whole world. Nobody was going to say no to us.

      • ChuckS123

The earth, the sun and sweat equity aren’t the only factors. Working smarter helps a LOT. Prosperity comes from efficiently producing what people want. A handful of sand is worth very little, unless you convert it into computer chips. People have pointed out that the human body only has maybe $20 or $50 worth or minerals, implying that’s all a person is worth. Of course, we all make much more than that. We can sell just our plasma for much more than that.

        • Katrael

I include all effort, including any mental effort, into sweat equity. Rocks, sand, vegetables or anything else from the earth is meaningless until someone does something with it. However, there is no wealth unless we develop what comes from the earth. People are more than just their constituent parts, but not all people are equal in what they contribute to society. .

    • ChuckS123

According to shadowstats.com, if you include all the people who are working part-time but want to work full time, and those who have given up looking for a job, the unemployment rate is almost 23%. This despite borrowing more than $1 trillion a year. It seems like that could produce 10 million jobs for $100,000 each.

The economy had a BIG boom when fed spending was dropped from $92 billion to $35 billion after WWII. The liberal economists thought there would be a big depression.

  • David169

What is not said here is the other side of socialism/communism. History shows us that as soon as a takeover is completed the facilitators are eliminated. That would be the politicians and the news media. The new government must do this because this is the group that put them in power and has the means to take them out of power. Then the country must be purged of all of the drones. Every person who is unable to work or refuses to work must be eliminated. Those in our country who live by voting will be the first to be eliminated. After that the disabled and uneducated. Every person in a socialist/communist society must work because the bureaucracy must be supported and that is a ratio of about 1 worker for every bureaucrat. Each worker must produce enough to support himself or herself and a bureaucrat. The size of the bureaucracy needed to manage a socialist/communist society always results in its downfall.

the federal reserve is printing money by the millions each month can any of you know it all people tell me whom owns it?who is the C.E.O. who tells it what to do .

  • Bob666

    Well,
It looked as if WAR was going to make some sense in the first couple of minutes, but it turned into hype for a book sale. He came so close this time.

So I would assume that you Mr. Root are no snake oil salesman. Oh but you are. Just selling your sad story (lies) among other things. You have suffered not a bit even through the Bush years as so many others have. And you continue to grow richer and richer selling what you sell and spreading hate among the misguided. Guys like you talk a good game of the goverment out to hiurt others , and how people are poorer and will for some reason rise up and rebel,You talk about liberty yet you would have others fight for that liberty while you sit back and fill your pockets from the blood other have spilled. As veteran who has served this great nation through war and peace I find it shameful that men like you and some othe so called writers would spread lies and half truths and be so disrespectfuil of the office of the president.

you and others seem to take a position that no matter what the outcome of a situration , if it turns out bad, just blame Obama. I was no fan of either Bush , but I would never refer to eith of them with the vile you and others address President Obama. I say again, you and yourother chairborne ranger friends do more harm to America that even the former Soviet Union could have .

  • Karolyn

Seen in the Wall Street Journal from Tuesday: “Deep in the President’s budget is a pan that could transform public housing in the nation by allowing housing authorities to increasingly set time limits or work requirements for participants. ”

I think you guys may like this story. It is a good idea. Hope the authorities use it.

“…want to legalize 12 million illegal aliens, giving them access to more than $9 trillion in entitlements.”

Illegals are getting that and more already. They are ripping off the American tax payer to the tune of OVER $4.1 BILLION dollars per year. They are claiming nieces and nephews in Mexico on their tax returns that do not live here – getting tax refund checks for $29,000.00 and more! Who the hell gets tax refunds like that on poverty level incomes? It is fraud that was reported by a tax preparer to the IRS, to which they said “There’s nothing we can do about it.”

They interviewed two lawbreakers, who couldn’t speak a word of English, admitted their fraud via interpreter and said “…why not take advantage of it?”

These illegals steal over $4 Billion dollars every year and there’s nothing the IRS can do about it? They don’t seem to have a problem putting Americans in jail for tax fraud.

Wonder what would happen if I changed my name to Gonzales, find 9 kids to claim on my taxes who actually live in Mexico and get a check for myself for $29,000.00? Hey, if the illegals can get away with it, I don’t see why Americans can’t do it too. Hell, we’ve got an illegal alien from Kenya president who uses forged fake documents and he gets away with that too. WTF?

  • Michael Shreve

The problem is that the “poor” can no longer survive without the government and the “rich” are dependent on government to stay that way. Those who SEE the cliff we are speeding toward are too few to stop the lemmings.

  • Progressive Republican

Sadly, not enough time to refute all of Ol’ Wayne’s drivel. But I’ll do some:

First off, a Ponzi scheme, by definition, is a fraudulent investment operation that pays returns to separate investors from their own money or money paid by subsequent investors, rather than from any actual profit earned. Notice the word, “fraud”. Lots of idiot FRWNJs (I know that’s redundant) claim that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, but these pesky things called facts say otherwise.

Then he calls the economic morass created by and perpetuated by the Rethuglicons the “Obama Great Depression”. Good boy. Here’s your doggie biscuit. Again, facts say otherwise. Y’know like it started on the shrub’s watch; is entirely due to his economic policies like using yours and my tax dollars to ship millions of American jobs to other countries (and when Democrats tried to provide the same incentives to bring SOME of those jobs back Rethuglicons said, “NO!!!”), not to mention the smirking chimp saying he wanted to transform America into a “service economy”.

Well, he succeeded. Remember when FRWNJ “economists” (Pff) and assorted lackeys/apologists crowed about the Bush administration creation of a whopping 229,000 private sector jobs (which still leaves Bush with a net private sector job LOSS during his reign)? However, once we look at the details, the joy vanishes: 174,000 of the jobs, or 76% of the total, are in nontradable services. Administrative and waste services (largely temporary help and employment services) account for 61,000 or 35% of the new service jobs. The remainder are accounted for by construction (30,000), retail trade (30,000), healthcare and social assistance (27,000), and waitresses and bar tenders (27,000).

Idiots were impressed. Reality-based people were less so.

He goes on to the usual uninspired rant about food stamps, disability, welfare and unemployment benefits and follows with the oft-repeated lie about “FREE HEALTHCARE”!! WOOHOO!!! FREE!!!! Well, except maybe for that whole voucher thing. And the fact that what is derisively referred to as “Obamacare” was actually authored by the uber right-wing Heritage Foundation whom he later cites (without naming) on another matter.

He then uses an old, recycled, long debunked lie by the aforementioned Heritage foundation by saying, “And just to be certain that the U.S. economy is completely destroyed, now for good measure we want to legalize 12 million illegal aliens, giving them access to more than $9 trillion in entitlements.”

    Nope.

First the rehash/report recently reissued only said that legalizing illegal immigrants would cost taxpayers a net $6.3 trillion over the next 50 years. Gee, it’s funny how Ol’ Wayne left the time frame out, not to mention the fact that the report is so flawed that other uber right-wing groups (like the American Enterprise Institute) are calling ‘B.S.!” on it. S’matter Wayne? Didn’tcha get the memo?

Then he repeats yet ANOTHER LIE with, “We have borrowed from China to pay entitlement checks to Americans WHO NO LONGER FEEL IT PAYS TO GO TO WORK (my emphasis). There is absolutely NO evidence to support that claim. Does this Republicretin really think that they’re NOT working because they’re living the live of Riley on $300 a month? YOWSA! Sign me up!

Credit where it’s due, however. He gets it right about how Wall Street has benefitted massively from the bailout while Main Street still suffers. While Obama did try to to something about that, (well, a bit for a while, anyways) It was Congressional Rethuglicons who whittled the original size of the bailout down by OVER HALF focusing on their Wall St. “patrons”/bosses/owners and cut out any truly meaningful assistance Main St. might have gotten out of it by insisting that over 40% of what was left of the bailout be in the for of TAX BREAKS to the aforementioned “patrons”/bosses/owners of the party of Greed Over Principle.

Then he blows it with, “Obama has succeeded in turning Wall Street into a rigged craps game. The government is guaranteeing the results.” Again, that was the smirking chimp with his deregulation [crap]. With the deregulation of Wall St. and the banks, the level of greed they were able to bathe in quickly became obscene. Pres. Ronnie had a hand in this too. He gave us the idea that traders and speculators no longer have to actually take possession of the commodity. Having it on paper will do just fine. Now it’s not even on paper.

Then there was his changing of the laws that prohibited the U.S. shipping specific raw materials to other nations (like lumber); only finished product. THAT cost a few hundred thousand jobs.

These and other changes in the rules (changes promulgated by Republicons) allow speculators to drive up oil prices, allow banks to gamble with your money and pass the losses on to you while keeping THEIR butts covered due to Ronnie’s promises to his own “patrons”/bosses/owners who bought him the office after his having committed treason. Wotta guy!

Before Ronnie, America was the wold’s biggest creditor nation. Thanks to his and the Bushes’ policies, we are now the world’s biggest DEBTOR nation.

“Meanwhile, on Main Street the real economy is dying. There are no jobs. There is no recovery. Ninety million able-bodied, working-age Americans are not working. The workforce participation rate is setting all-time records for futility. U.S. worker hours are down and U.S. worker salaries are stagnating, while our cost of living is skyrocketing.”

Hey Wayne? Remember back before Ronnie’s “patrons”/bosses/owners bought him the Presidency when we were PROMISED that this COULDN’T POSSIBLY happen because the unfetters free market would NEVER allow it?

    Oops.

“Recent college grads are drowning in debt, with record levels of student loan default and post-college-graduation unemployment. Older Americans are dipping into their retirement savings in record numbers; 16.4 million Americans live in poverty in the suburbs; and almost 50 percent of Americans have less than $500 in savings.”

Again, we were PROMISED that the unfettered free market of Reaganomics would NEVER allow such a travesty to come to pass. Reaganomics: Convincing poor people they can become rich by giving rich people more money. And the rubes bought it. *Yeesh*

Lots more drivel but I’m out of time. Oh, well…
