The Long November

November 27, 2012 by

The Long November
PHOTOS.COM

The month of November was nothing if not exciting. War in the Mideast, approaching fiscal cliffs and a scandal involving a cover-up at the highest levels of the Administration and the intelligence community all dominated headlines around the world. Oh, and some guy named Barack Obama won a second Presidential term.

The penultimate month of 2012 opened amid a Presidential campaign that turned out to be about as climactic as a football game between Notre Dame and the Pop Warner champs from one of those Northeastern States where most of the kids play soccer and their parents refer to football as “American football.” As November screeches to a close, Obama is still the President and Notre Dame remains undefeated. But those stories are merely bookends. Let’s bid the month a fond adieu with a stroll down short-term memory lane. For those of you in Colorado or Washington, enjoy your short-term memories while you can. You know what I mean.

With apologies to my crew on The Great Eight, from the studios of the Personal Liberty Digest, it’s time for the top 8 stories of November 2012.

8. Lena Dunham, meet everyone. Everyone, meet Lena Dunham. Dunham used to be another profanely left-wing television writer for profanely left-wing outlet HBO. Now, she’s a profanely left-wing television writer who sold her dignity for a piece of Obama’s coattails. Dunham produced the repulsive YouTube video in which she compared voting for Obama to losing her virginity. It’s hard to say whether Dunham’s efforts had any real effect (the sort of person who could be swayed by such nonsense was probably going to vote for Obama either way), but it certainly made her a rising star in the Democrat ranks. Not long after “My First Time” hit the Web, Dunham was named “woman of the year” by Glamour magazine. So, after Sandra Fluke whored herself out and endured a deserved firestorm of criticism for demanding the taxpayers fund a shockingly promiscuous lifestyle, all she got was second place? I almost feel bad for her — almost. Remember, kids: Sexualizing your politics in support of the Democrats is totally cool. Making fun of people who do is apparently less so.

7. Remember 2005, when Hurricane Katrina rolled into New Orleans? Remember how a population held under the Democrats’ thumbs for more than a century suddenly realized being incapable of self-preservation was a bad thing — albeit too late to do anything beyond whine about their plight? Remember how the Democrats managed to blame their own enforced ignorance on President George W. Bush while carefully ignoring the reprehensible failings of New Orleans Mayor Ray “Chocolate City” Nagin and then-Governor Kathleen “Alligator Tears” Blanco? Remember the people wading through chest-deep waters to save themselves — or at least to get to the shopping center before all the really good stuff got looted? Now think about the Atlantic seaboard during the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy’s arrival. Remember how the media couldn’t stop showing us images of helpless citizens, bereft of hope, gathering at the Atlantic City Convention Center, desperately hoping for a rescue? Remember how the Nation roared with rage not only over the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s hapless response, but also over Obama’s apparent lack of concern? Remember how hip-hop poseur and drunken idiot Kanye West made headlines with his pointed criticism of Obama’s snail’s pace of a reaction? Yeah, me neither.

6. Good news, everyone. Attorney General Eric Holder — patron of the New Black Panther Party, architect of the Operation Fast and Furious cover-up and Congressional perjurer — will be staying in Washington for the foreseeable future. The good news: If Holder is in Washington, he’s less likely to kill people who live elsewhere. The bad news: He’s the Attorney General. If he wants you dead, he can get to you almost anywhere. And following his Obama-endorsed perjury regarding the disastrous OFF and its attendant body count, it would appear that he won’t be facing any consequences. And let this be a lesson to us all. If you want to get somewhere in life, there are two choices: Work hard and avoid murderous mendacity, or be a Democrat.

5. Now that we’ve put election 2012 in the rearview mirror, we can all take a deep breath and ponder the direction of the Republic. There are no offensive campaign ads, no idiotic mailers piling up in the box and no ludicrous attempts by either major party to obfuscate their man’s obvious failings in an attempt to fool us into casting our ballots in his direction. Enjoy the holidays, kids; no one is begging for your vote today! All right, I’m lying like a Democratic National Committee chairperson. Hillary 2016! Rubio 2016! Jeb Bush 2016! (Really? Really.) We don’t even get time off for bad behavior anymore.

4. Retired Gen. David Petraeus defines tough guy. And I base that not just on the chest full of medals and walls full of accolades. How tough is Petraeus? He once convinced doctors to discharge him from the hospital by doing 50 pushups less than a week after he was shot in the chest. Bullets don’t scare him. Bombs don’t scare him. But broads probably should have set him to running up the white flag. Petraeus, who was confirmed by a 94-0 Senate vote, is off the public payroll for the first time in four decades following the discovery of his affair with biographer Paula Broadwell. Obviously, Petraeus had to go following such a public disgrace. He cheated on his wife of 38 years. He allowed his hormones to potentially threaten national security. He lied. Actually, none of those are generally considered black marks on a Democrat’s resume; normally, such behavior earns you a Senate seat, if not the Presidency itself. Come to think of it, I’m not entirely certain why Petraeus was forced to resign. By the standards of the Democratic Party, he’s fairly unremarkable. There must be some reason why he’s on the bricks. I wonder what it could possibly be?

3. Oh, right. Obama needed a scapegoat for his fatal blundering in Benghazi, Libya. As if the sad saga of Ambassador Chris Stevens and his three fellow victims didn’t make you want to shade your eyes already, leave it to Obama to make a terrible situation 10 times worse. Petraeus has fallen on the proverbial sword for the disaster; but so many seminal questions remain unanswered regarding the mishandling of the whole affair, it may take years to untangle the web of deceit. Terrorists attacked the U.S. diplomatic compound and murdered Stevens and the others in a coordinated operation. And then, all hell broke loose. U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice took to the talk circuit to repeat the Obama lie that some YouTube video was to blame. Obama and his accomplices changed the story so often they actually began to struggle to keep the lies straight. At one point, Obama’s sock puppets at MSNBC reverted to the YouTube fable even as Obama was acknowledging its fallacy. The smoke still hasn’t cleared, but here’s what we know: YouTube had nothing to do with it. Rice lied repeatedly. Obama lied repeatedly. Petraeus resigned. The Democrats are now saying that anyone who points out Obama and Rice’s dishonesty is somehow racist. And the Benghazi Four are still dead.

2. Apparently, God has an ironic sense of humor. What else could explain ushering in the holy season with holy war in the Holy Land… again? While they’re pretending to abide by a cease-fire, the Israelis and their islamofascist enemies are trading blows; getting after each other like it’s the intifadeh all over again. The Muslims fire rockets from launching vehicles and pads hidden among civilian neighborhoods, and the Israelis fly over and level the whole area each time they do. Lessons come hard in the Levant; they’ve been killing each other since the late 1940s. Actually, they’ve been killing each other since Joshua won the battle of Jericho. Actually, the battle of Jericho is still under way. Obama seems either disinterested or incapable of exerting any influence over the warring parties, and the Russians and the Chinese glower menacingly behind the islamofascists they’ve armed. The Mayans can’t have known about the Mideast, right?

1. Obama won. He didn’t just beat Mitt Romney; he cleaned his ballot box. Much as it pains me to acknowledge, Obama’s victory was a full-on, alpine-disaster-movie landslide. Despite record joblessness, record numbers of Americans on food stamps, record personal and national debt, record division among the people and virtually record-setting levels of overt lying to the American people on issues as grave as human life, Americans chose to allow Obama to keep the keys to the Oval Office. In return, Obama offers four more years of Obamacare, tax hikes, class warfare, lying and death. But don’t blame Obama. Blame your fellow Americans. He didn’t do it alone.

So, that’s November. December can’t possibly be worse, nor can it be weirder. Of course, I said that last month.

Hey Jeffy Weffy, here is a video showing how your “messiah” has committed treason with the Muslim Brotherhood. In fact, many now think this connection may have had something to do with the attacks on the embassy in Lybia.

You are a fake samurai, fake teacher, and fake patriot. Plus, I don’t have a messiah. That’s your street corner shtick. Frankly, I think the Jesus thing is just your latest addiction – cigarettes, then alcohol, onto heroin, and then . . . . . Jesus!

      • http://naver samurai

Ah yes, the personal attack. Classic 5th column traitor strategy. What’s wrong Jeffy? Did the big bad samurai hit a nerve? I see you didn’t even look at the source that I had posted, as usual. Here is something that shows the hardest hit states, starting this month, are the idiots that voted for Obama bin Laden.

          Faque Samurai:

Maybe you pretend to teach journalism. That’s a solid piece of reporting from, what was it, the Right Wing Gazette? Is that where you heard about DeGaulle giving the “Their Finest Hour” speech? Try reading something not published by Rupert Murdoch or the Moonies and without the word “Christian” in the title. I can’t believe they’d let you teach anything. Must be a whacked out Christian school where the standards are a bit different.

      • http://naver samurai

If I recall, Winston Churchill said “This is our finest hour” and not General Charles Degulle. Neeeeed to study a lot more there dude/dudette. You are not patriot, but what Jesus claimed you to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing. You and your ilk is what is keeping this nation polarized into groups. Here is a description of true patriots, but you don’t qualify Jeffy.

      • sam1966

Actually, “We have nothing to fear, but fear itself”, was said by Winston Churchill and dealt with a different threat than we face now. To say there is nothing to worry about shows you lack of intelligence of what is going on around you. Like my father told me, “A good leader is required to know their situation at all times.” It is time for us to get back to the ways we were founded on Christian principles and returning to God. Here is something showing what can happen if our Reps, Senators, and Obama bin Laden don’t get their heads out of their backsides. I don’t want to have to pay more taxes, because this pretender doesn’t want to do anything.

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”

        Patrick Henry
        March 23, 1775

        • Jeff

          Hey Fake:

Do you pretend to teach history or physics? The “nothing to fear” line was not spoken by Churchill but by FDR at his inauguration. It was spoken in response to the Great Depression and is generally considered to set the tone for his First 100 Days. The Depression was seen as something we created, a crisis of confidence, that we could overcome. If you’d been there, you’d have said something idiotic about Jesus being an American patriot and confidence would have gone even lower.

      • sam1966

Another personal attack by Jeffy. I wanted to test Ed’s knowledge, not to have some less intelligent person, who knows that Obama bin Laden is not a natural born citizen, but shows his blind following of his pretender in office, to give me an answer. People, like you, is what is wrong with this country. The ones who keep people divided into groups, tells lies, rhetoric, innuendo, and spew hate everywhere they go. Here is something that will explain to you why we are where we are now and what we need to do to get back on track. Warning, it does talk about God.

Uh…why do you keep saying “perjurer”? Perjury is a real crime, not something to joke about. And, besides, it has a legal connotation as well. Unless his testimony was “legally” defined as such, all you are saying is a big lie. And ask Nazis how the “big lie” works.

Let’s prepare for some “..peace and prosperity.” Oh, that’s right. You right-wingers think it’s the “end times”, so, why bother?

    • Vigilant

“Uh…why do you keep saying “perjurer”? Perjury is a real crime, not something to joke about. And, besides, it has a legal connotation as well. Unless his testimony was “legally” defined as such, all you are saying is a big lie. And ask Nazis how the “big lie” works.”

Documents have proven that Holder perjured himself. See http://nicedeb.wordpress.com/2011/10/03/new-documents-show-attorney-general-eric-holder-committed-perjury-before-congress/

Congress also held Holder in CRIMINAL contempt for obstruction of justice.

My, how quickly the left’s definition of “perjury” changes. Next you’ll be telling us that Clinton was not guilty of perjury.

      • DaveH

It depends on what the meaning of is is.

      • TIME

        Dear Dave,

As in what the true meaning of Having ~ SEX ~ is?

And that question from not only an “Oxford Scholar “~ let alone a “Rhodes Scholar” ~ who also did their under Grad at Georgetown Law at the time the number 5 Law school in the world.

You see words mean differant things to differant people based on their percieved application based on one of a few base platforms, { such as what level of “Indoctrination” one has,} > as well as what you can sell to the “Illiterate” mass’s, as well as the totaly controled ignorant who border on outright stupidity.

Please ~ note ~ the following for all of the above, { the election of every POTUS / CEO of the “United States inc” from 1860 onward.} Dave I know you understand what that really means, so just how sad it it thats so few do understand its truve value.

This has been a long slow decline, this game is all been based on a “LONG RANGE” plan of what in todays world is nearly impossible for the “average” sheep to even understand, thats even if they will allow themself to think.

Afterall the modern sheep now have { Tela ~Vision ~ Programing } that most have been immeresed in for their whole life. Thus the 20 second sound bite thinking patterns.

Thats why the mass media can now change up the story line in just a few weeks, where as even just ten years ago, they had to wait for six months or more, Why?
The all new { Tela Vision Programing } works the Alpha Waves in just a few seconds.

Oh Progress, how special it is when its used for PURE EVIL.

Peace and Love, Got your bus tickets yet people?

      • KG

Tell me, if Clinton was so bad, why DIDN’T he resign? Why did Nixon resign? Nixon resigned because he KNEW he was guilty. If he would have remained president, then he could have been criminally prosecuted. That’s why what Nixon did was actually WORSE than anything Clinton did.

This whole Bengazi-gate crap has about as much legitimacy as Elvis sightings in Vegas. Stop trying to “fit” your “facts” to suit your selves, and start thinking more critically. Oh, that’s right. You guys CAN’T or WONT do that. Besides, Jesus is coming, everybody look busy!

      • TIME

        Dear KG,

You wear what I posted quite well indeed ~ OH ~ “”please do keep it up.”"

Afterall ~ I could write for years and not be able to display what I posed within my post ~~ better than your brief post clearly did.

Thanks ~ again what a Great Job! A clear picture of what the twenty second sound bite mentality looks like. Thanks again,

      • DaveH

Nixon resigned, KG, because he wasn’t as far advanced down the road of Psychopathy as is Clinton. He still had a sense of guilt.

      • KG

So, are you saying Nixon was guilty? I thought the entire Republican party since Regan has been trying to prove Nixon was righteous in his actions, since Regan actually did worse things during Iran-CONTRA.

Why didn’t Ed Meese go to prision?

And why does Ollie North even breath air since he came so close to outright treason?

      • DaveH

Politicians, by nature, are looking out for themselves, KG.
What made you think I exclude Republicans from that?

      • Vigilant

KG says, “Tell me, if Clinton was so bad, why DIDN’T he resign? Why did Nixon resign? Nixon resigned because he KNEW he was guilty. If he would have remained president, then he could have been criminally prosecuted. That’s why what Nixon did was actually WORSE than anything Clinton did.”

Clinton didn’t resign because he KNEW the Dem majority in the Senate would vote purely along political lines, instead of taking the high road and voting the Constitution.

Nixon and Clinton BOTH knew they were guilty. Only one was proven guilty of a high crime, perjury, and that was Clinton.

        • Jeff

Perhaps you could be a bit more Vigilant about the facts. The Republicans held 55 seats when the Senate acquitted Clinton. The “House Managers” couldn’t get a simple majority, let alone a super majority to vote for conviction.

      • Vigilant

“KG lies again with “So, are you saying Nixon was guilty? I thought the entire Republican party since Regan [sic] has been trying to prove Nixon was righteous in his actions, since Regan [sic] actually did worse things during Iran-CONTRA.”

KG, I’ve never heard ANYONE try to justify or rationalize Nixon’s actions, NOR HAVE YOU, so stop misrepresenting the truth.

      • Vigilant

Good catch, Jeff, I stand corrected. Please allow me to re-phrase: Clinton didn’t resign because he KNEW the Dems in the Senate would vote purely along political lines, instead of taking the high road and voting the Constitution.

From Wikipedia: “The perjury charge failed with 45 senators (all Republican) voting “guilty” and 55 senators (45 Democrats and 10 Republicans) voting “not guilty”. The obstruction of justice charge failed with 50 senators (all Republican) voting “guilty” and 50 senators (45 Democrats and 5 Republicans) voting “not guilty”. In both cases, a two-thirds majority of 67 senators would have been required for conviction.”

In other words, every Democrat and 10 Republicans opted to trash the Constitution. The defense didn’t even deny that perjury had occurred!

Two closing arguments depict the stark differences in how the Constitution is perceived.

White House Counsel Charles Ruff argued: “There is only one question before you, albeit a difficult one, one that is a question of fact and law and constitutional theory. Would it put at risk the liberties of the people to retain the President in office? Putting aside partisan animus, if you can honestly say that it would not, that those liberties are safe in his hands, then you must vote to acquit.”

Analysis: It wasn’t “putting aside partisan animus,” it was putting aside the Constitution itself. The Constitution does not consider whether or not a conviction “put[s] at risk the liberties of the people to retain the President in office,” the Constitution merely specifies that high crimes and misdemeanors are impeachable offenses. Perjury is a felony.

Chief prosecutor Henry Hyde countered: “A failure to convict will make the statement that lying under oath, while unpleasant and to be avoided, is not all that serious…We have reduced lying under oath to a breach of etiquette, but only if you are the President…And now let us all take our place in history on the side of honor, and, oh, yes, let right be done.”

The Senate, on one of the darkest days in American history, did NOT take its place on the side of honor.

      • sam1966

Well said Vigilant! Keep up the good fight fellow patriot. You have to excuse Jeffy Weffy and KGB as they neither know the truth, nor do they possess the capacity to understand it. Here is something about if Obama bin Laden raised taxes on only the rich, that taz raise won’t even last 10 days by how much Obama bin Laden is spending.

“If we did a good act merely from love of God and a belief that it is pleasing to Him, whence arises the morality of the atheist? Their virtue then, must of had some other foundation than the love of God.”

        Thomas Jefferson

This would really describe Jeffy, KGB, and other members of the 5th column that troll this site.

        • Jeff

          Fake Patriot:

Under how many names have you trolled these sites? And do you remember when Reagan gave that Iron Curtain Speech? I bet you discuss its importance with your classes all the time. Like when Obama said “Ich bin ein Berliner.” That one brought the house down. Are you really as dense as you appear or is it an act?

      • sam1966

Actually, when it “brought the house down” was when it was said by JFK. Obama bin Laden can’t hold a candle to JFK. Though it is past Thanksgiving, it is always good to try to teach the less intelligent about how our Christian founding fathers really thought about it.

Capitalism has also overseen the deaths of millions. The advanced capitalist powers all fought something called World War I and World War II. Capitalism powers established Western colonialism in Africa, Asia, and Latin America that led to the death of millions of people of color. Yes, dictatorial communist – not elected socialist – governments killed million in Russia and China. But capitalist hands are certainly not cleans when it comes to their numerous historical crimes – all in the name of profit, and even more hypocrically, democracy!

      • DaveH

mark says — “Capitalism has also overseen the deaths of millions”.
Capitalism is Free Markets, mark. What you’re talking about is Crony Capitalism, or Mercantilism, which isn’t remotely related to Free Markets. As you Liberal Progressives love to remind us, we haven’t had anything close to Free Markets in well over a hundred years.
Crony Capitalism is just a form of Fascism where the Leaders and the Crony Capitalists work hand in hand to feather each other’s nests at the rest of our expense.

      • DaveH

Really what it boils down to is State vs. Free People. The State is always happy to Force it’s way on its own citizens or those of other countries using Violence. Without the various Gang Leaders (the State) of the different countries, the world would be a much more peaceful place.

I have not seen much evidence in history of religion causing death. I see lots of evidence of people (usually with/thru government) cause the death of many many many people though. This is why it puzzles me that so many want MORE government in their lives.

I’m sure that someone can find an obscure religion somewhere that advocates the murder of babies but of the most common religions (even atheism) in the world today, only Islam promotes murder of the un-believer and then only if the un-believer refuses to join Islam or become the slaves of Islamic believers.

Eddie, Clinton was NOT impeached for a “personal indiscretion,” and it’s high time you and others stopped promulgating that myth.

The opening text of the first article of impeachment tells the story:

“In his conduct while President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has willfully corrupted and manipulated the judicial process of the United States for his personal gain and exoneration, impeding the administration of justice…”

I guess the libs, progs, secularists, and other traitors don’t really want our kids to know the real founding of our country. When I had my students study our founding about 1 – 1.5 months ago, many were surprised to see how many times God, Jesus, and Bible verses were used by our founders, in our founding documents, public buildings, and monuments. I guess that I have awakened the minds of many young learners over a 7 year period. How much Vacation time did Bush accrue?

During 2 terms as President, Bush spent all or of part of 487 days at Camp David, on retreats and made 77 trips to his Crawford Ranch, in Texas, where he spent all or part of 490 days, on his Ranch.
The total number of days of vacation or retreat President Bush took, while in office over a period of 8 years was 977 days, or 32% of his total time in office, was spent on vacations or retreats.

I wish I could have just 10% of my time off.

On those “vacation trips,” Bush had a contingency of staff members from different agencies, cabinet, legislative persons, etc because these were what are termed WORKING ‘vacations.’ Business of the day was discussed and who accompanied President Bush depended on what the issue of the day happened to be. In contrast, zero and moochie went on vacations and he did not discuss business. As a matter of fact, he missed well over half of the daily briefings, which explains his total ignorance on what global and domestic events had occcurred. Furhermore, he refused to allow ANY event requiring his presence for decision-making that had an effect on either global or domestic issues to interfere with his partying. Respect this fakir? My comments on each number

    8. Get your news from the Internet. Stop watching all the morons on ALL American news channels.

    7. FEMA is useless and should be abandoned no matter who runs it. I live 2 miles from Sandy’s Ground Zero. The problem is not political parties here

    6. Holder is horrible but the GOP guy who preceded him was better? How so? Did either one ever follow the Constitution? If so, when?

    5. Could enough Americans even recognize a good candidate from either party? I doubt it. We had one and they blew it but nominating another GOP Jobber named Mitt. He deserved to lose

    4. How would you feel if you were an enlisted man with this breaking story? The morale of our service men must be at an all time low right now. This guy was hanging with a bunch of high priced HOES while our troops are dying and getting wounded. Don’t ya think the troops notice any of this? What opinions do they hold for their commanders? Believe me it matters!!

    3. The elephant in the room here is “Why are we backing Al Qaeda here in Libya?” This was bungled from the start. Did you expect better from a Republican? The same idiots who were handling Iraq and Afghanistan?? Come on.

    2. Both sides are wrong. We should stay out of this family feud. Neither side has any interest in settling their differences so why should we?

    1. It didn’t matter who won. Both are idiots. Maybe the GOP will finally grow up and purge all the morons out of the party that have blown two successive elections.

“Anarcho-capitalism, in my opinion, is a doctrinal system which, if ever implemented, would lead to forms of tyranny and oppression that have few counterparts in human history. There isn’t the slightest possibility that its (in my view, horrendous) ideas would be implemented, because they would quickly destroy any society that made this colossal error. The idea of ‘free contract’ between the potentate and his starving subject is a sick joke, perhaps worth some moments in an academic seminar exploring the consequences of (in my view, absurd) ideas, but nowhere else.” [Noam Chomsky on Anarchism, interview with Tom Lane, December 23, 1996]

So what does anarcho-capitalism mean to you, KG?

      • DaveH

Imagine trading the Bully Politics of Force that KG embraces, where a relatively small group of people benefit at the rest of our expense, for a Free Market system where we buy and sell and produce voluntarily with Government’s role reserved only for protection against Force from the hands of others?
Yeah, KG and his crowd would have to actually produce things for a living instead of taking them from others with the Power of Government. Tough luck.

      • KG

Anarchy-capitalism is a system that assumes that selfishness, greed, and “sharecropper” values for everyone except the rich, would produce a “virtuous” land of plenty.

So, when did blind ambition and greed become virtues?

In other words, working people become “prostitutes” for the elite “pimps.”

And they call union guys bad.

      • DaveH

KG says — “Anarchy-capitalism is a system that assumes that selfishness, greed, and “sharecropper” values for everyone except the rich, would produce a “virtuous” land of plenty”.
No KG. It is just a system whereby Government does not meddle in the Marketplace. It is a system whereby people voluntarily contract with each other without the Force of Government being involved in their decisions.
It’s interesting, KG, that you somehow assign those inequities (greed, etc.) to people outside of Government, but can’t figure out that Government people are just as guilty, if not more so given the Power they have, and given that fact that Sociopaths tend to gravitate to those positions of Power. So who protects us from the Greed and Selfishness of Government people? And please don’t say our votes, because that would be a pretty lame response.
Also, since you are/were a Union member, you have no legs to stand on, KG, since Unions use Force and Coercion to extract above-market wages from their benefactors (employers). If that isn’t Greed, I don’t know what is.

        • Jeff

In other words, it’s a system every bit as utopian as the Marxist dreamland where everyone gives of himself freely for the betterment of everyone. The “invisible hand” of capitalism will only work where no one is powerful enough to control the market. As we know, here on planet Earth, markets don’t work that way without the intervention of a Government to prevent monopolies, to enforce fair trade practices, emissions controls, etc., etc. This stuff is not rocket science, Dave.

      • eddie47d

Enough of your union bashing Dave H. Boring! Any contract has to be in agreement with management. If said management approves where is the coercion? Its called a partnership where workers are given benefits because of their hard work and loyalty to the company and the company approves of their employees. In other words they deserve to be paid fairly for their labor.

      • DaveH

Jeff says — “In other words, it’s a system every bit as utopian as the Marxist dreamland where everyone gives of himself freely for the betterment of everyone”.
In the first 100 years of our country’s existence, when Laissez Faire ruled the day, and Government was much Smaller than now, the dollar actually doubled in value while peoples’ standards of living grew. There is nothing Utopian about it. It was tried and succeeded. Only the Leaders then couldn’t acquire so much Power and Wealth, so of course they couldn’t have that.
Those who want to get a glimpse of reality should buy or borrow this book. It is written in layman’s language and an interesting, informative read:

No, it’s not Rocket Science, Jeff, so one might expect you to be able to grasp the fact that no company can “control” the market unless they please the consumer better than any other company or get the backing and Force of Government to assure their position.

Eddie says — “Enough of your union bashing Dave H. Boring! Any contract has to be in agreement with management. If said management approves where is the coercion?”.
Sure Eddie, and if somebody puts a gun to your head and says sign this, that makes it voluntary?

Unionists strike (which by itself would be reasonable), then they harass customers, they perform acts of violence against those who would gladly take their jobs, and they enlist the Force of their Crony Politicians to coerce the companies to give them more than they’re worth.
Don’t ask me where the coercion is, Eddie. It’s right in front of your rather long nose.

Jeff: As we know, here on planet Earth, markets don’t work that way without the intervention of a Government to prevent monopolies, to enforce fair trade practices, emissions controls, etc., etc.

If that is true, why then do we have monopolies, unfair trade, and theft(emissions control) ect., ect.

        • Jeff

Unfortunately, anti-trust regulation has not been a priority for the Justice Dept. since Reagan. You seem to agree the Government should be doing more, not less.

It’s Free, Capitalist, thanks to Mises Institute. I download the PDF files to my Kindle and read them in the comfort of my easy chair. 11 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is LIBERTY. Liberty is a gift of God associated with moral freedom. Reading this article, it’s obvious we have lost our morality and liberty. One goes with the other. Loosing Liberty and morality doesn’t create a void, something moves in to replace them. Liberty is replaced with bondage and morality is replaced by amorality, functioning without out the presence of God. It’s like the old economic law: You can’t consume more that you produce. These are laws that come from God and God’s laws cannot be changed. You either live with them or die without them.

Was this last election a lesson for everybody or has Bush Senior’s goal to dumb down America taken hold completely? It’s been said: People will not look for a cure until they admit they are sick. There’s only one cure to America’s ills and that’s repent to God and ask for His wisdom to get on the right course. Ron Paul brought that wisdom to the table and I’m sure that he has replacements. When we find one we must put him to the head of the class and supply him with a large vacuum cleaner capable of removing the dung that’s permeated our DC. Maybe we don’t have any amongst ourselves and it’s time for Jesus Christ to step in. Suggested reading John 3:16

There was no rage over Sandy’s aftermath because the people of NJ ad NY are made of sturdier stuff and help came as soon as possible. Yes, some had to wait weeks for electricity. The PATH train in NY was still out yesterday. Sandy was a unique storm. Christy did a good job. Obama was there within days. Help arrived in record time from all over the country. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was military involvement.

Don’t worry. After about 50 years of increasing Socialism, it will implode because Socialism requires a Capitalist host on which to feed, and like any parasite it will collapse when it has killed its host.
Then we will rebuild with Capitalism until the people become fat and prosperous again and wait for the next generation of Spoiled Parasites to develop.

      • Jeff

Do you really think paying slightly higher taxes (though still historically quite low) will kill off capitalism? Are you daft? The rich have been getting richer at an increasing rate since around 1980 and particularly during those horrible, awful, no-good Clinton years. If anything, we’re on a trajectory toward a 19th Century economy with a few very wealthy people and a shrinking middle class rather than moving toward socialism. A few extra % in taxes and some regulation of the worst actions of big banks is no more “socialism” than your reading those books makes you an Austrian.

Some things simply make sense for us to do collectively. If that offends your sense of economic purity, get over it.

      • DaveH

Jeff says — “Do you really think paying slightly higher taxes (though still historically quite low) will kill off capitalism? Are you daft?”.
I said nothing about taxes. It’s the Spending, Stupid. Whether they pay for it with current taxes, future taxes, or with Counterfeit Money from the Federal Reserve, the spending will be paid by the general public. Government now spends 40% of our GDP, compared to only 6% in 1900. How can we have a strong middle class when they are spending us into the poor house?

Jeff says — “The rich have been getting richer at an increasing rate since around 1980 and particularly during those horrible, awful, no-good Clinton years”.
Many of those “rich” are getting richer because foolish people like yourself don’t understand that a major role of modern Government is to protect them from the vagaries of Free Markets where any upstart entrepreneur can knock them off their podium by giving the customers what they want. With the Government out of the Marketplace, the customers would rule. Only the businesses who pleased the consumers would thrive, the others would perish. With Big Government by their side, the Crony Capitalists prosper by supporting their favorite Crony Politicians with campaign donations or other bribes, and the Politicians return the favor with regulations, which sound nice to innocent people but in reality stifle their competitors, and with other such protective devices (subsidies, tariffs, quotas, etc.) at the expense of the consumers and the taxpayers.

Those Folks, who would like to learn how Big Government actually does more harm to the poor than good, should read Chapter 7 “The Morality of Capitalism” (page 295):

I question the conclusion (or is the premise?) of this “weird month” article — namely that Obama cleaned Romney’s ballot clock AND/OR Americans decided for Obama. are you overlooking (or just dismissing) the MAJOR POSSIBILITY that VOTER FRAUD (not the voters) DECIDED THE ELECTION?

If that even could be the case, WHAT CAN WE DO NOW TO SAVE AMERICA?

That’s a hard question. No doubt, it all depends ….

Maybe a bigger question is HAVE WE GONE OVER THE FREEDOM CLIFF? In other words, are you SURE that Nov. 6 was not the last election in which we COULD HAVE made a difference – apart from God’s miraculous intervention?

Personally, I believe that THERE ARE NUMEROUS WAYS IN WHICH GOD CAN STILL PREVENT ANOTHER 4 YEARS OF OBAMA!! I’m praying that He will.

    A. LOOKING BACK

I have a list of what I view as about three dozen possible, partial reasons we did not win the election. The big problem is that WE DON’T KNOW for sure. Only God does.

Other factors may have had a part. In my mind, though, there are TWO HUGE FACTORS that kept us from winning.

    1) HOW MANY MILLION VOTES WERE STOLEN FROM US?

    2) HOW MANY MILLIONS OF BIBLE-BELIEVERS DID (OR DID NOT) VOTE?

In other words, are we supposed to believe – with all the apparent enthusiasm in some polls and huge rallies leading up to the election – that Romney got 3 million fewer votes than did McCain in 2008? Did even fewer professing Christians AGAIN / STILL refuse to oppose evil?!!!!! I have trouble swallowing that.

If that is the case, SHAME ON THE SAINTS!! If not, FRAUD DID US IN!!

    B. LOOKING AHEAD

With that in mind, are there not some IMMEDIATE MATTERS that should concern us? Can we afford to just try to regroup in 2013? Meanwhile, we lost more battles — UNCONTESTED!! I can think of a few MAJOR THINGS THAT COULD OCCUR SOON – or not!

    1) BENGHAZI – we could just watch while RINOS and silent conservatives in Congress let the investigation AND Prosecution stop short of Obama’s White House.

    2) FISCAL CLIFF – we could just watch while RINOS cave in and agree to RAISING TAXES – instead of solely — and radically — cutting expenditures.

    3) BIRTH CERTIFICATE – we could just let Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s investigation and last summer’s presentation of his findings (on the fraudulent birth certificate) go for naught. FRAUD, again!!!

    4) ELECTION FRAUD – we could just let OBAMA have 4 more years to finish what he began and “GET AWAY WITH MURDER” of our nation by not contesting the widespread election fraud.

Does anyone else feel this way? Hasn’t anyone else in the Tea Party (or similar groups of patriots) expressed these or similar sentiments?

Will God hold us accountable if we do nothing NOW? Can America afford to wait till 2013 – or 2016 – for us to act???

    So, what can we do?

    1) Of course, it’s the “Holiday Season” (“heaven forbid” we call it “Christmas”!), but would not that be a great time to stand and hold signs near malls and/or busy intersections?

    2) Also, Pres. Obama has threatened to sign UN treaties and do other things in December – and then there’s the LAME DUCK session of Congress to worry about. Are not calls and letters in order?

So, there are 2 ways of being hopeless. Which are you?

    (1) It’s hopeless to try to tackle any of the 4 MAJOR things that could occur.

    (2) It’s hopeless if we DON’T do something now. Obamacare, new regulations, executive orders, Justice Department decisions, and other things may / will prevent any meaningful action by conservatives for the foreseeable future – perhaps until the total collapse of America (which, of course, Obama wants).

You — as we — have no doubt heard the rumors of Obama’s THIRD term? I don’t think they can be ignored. Remember the words of Walter Lippman to FDR during World War II: “The situation is critical, Franklin. You may have no alternative but to take dictatorial powers.”

Just some ideas I had to express – hopefully before it’s too late. I trust of this has made sense!!

Finally, we trust in GOD. However HE WORKS THROUGH US to accomplish good in the world.

So, that said, I pray conservatives around the nation can and will soon cooperate and oordinate rallies, marches, demonstrations, and visits and calls to offices of members of Congress to speak up loudly for what’s right and demand that at least the conservatives in Congress do the same.

MAY GOD MERCIFULLY DELIVER US FROM EVIL AND SAVE AMERICA!

    Randy

    • http://wildeyguns.com The Christian American

God will only help if people ask Him. To ask requires repentance for what we’ve been doing on the part of the nation. Is that in the works in America or are people still listening to the persuasions of Satan?

  • Terry Bateman

Ben Crystal mentioned a landslide victory for Obama despite “record joblessness”
“record personal and national debt”. Americans rightly realized the unemployment
and debt problems began a long time before Obama took office and voted against
the political party that started them.

    • Capitalist at Birth

Would you like to debate the causes of our economic problems, and when they began? You obviously are oblivious to the true causes and when they began.

      • DaveH

Don’t hold your breath. The Liberal Progressives are much better with sweeping generalizations than they are with specifics. It’s easier to hide from reality that way.

      • Robert Rashbrooke

        Capitalist,

You have your opinions and reasons to determine, for you, what caused the decline of the economy in the US and when it began.

Professor Richard Wollf has his understanding of the root causes of that decline. Do you KNOW what HIS opinion is and does it have any more or less credence than your ideas. Or are only Republican views acceptable?

    • Scipio

The economic crisis started under Bush WITH THE DEMOCRAT CONGRESS. Then there was BARNEY FRANK and CHRISTOPHER DODD both democrats that gave us the FANNIE AND FREDDIE fiasco. Now DODD FRANK legislation. These two liberal wonders deserve to be in jail. We have had six years of DEMOCRAT RULE and democrats/ liberals are still blaming Bush.

I am willing to bet four years from now as Americans are wards of the state and governed by UN treaties Bush will still be blamed. Liberals and democrats are obviously perfect human beings and worthy of telling others how they must live. Obviously liberals and democrats can do no wrong and the wrong doers are always somebody else.

Now the question is: in four more years will Obama tell us again that he needs another four years to “go forward’ and thus subvert the constitution with regard to term limits.
Obama is repeating the history of the 1930′s and only time will tell just how much damage will be done to LADY LIBERTY

This president, by his actions, has proven beyond any doubt that he is unlike any other president in AMERICAN history.

Eddie, you seem to be wholly hung up on this idea that Bush is responsible (or even 50% responsible) for the economic mess we have now. For everyone’s edification please tell us exactly what George Bush did (enacted) without the support and urging of the democratic majority in Congress for the last six years of his presidency. Tell us what executive orders he gave that caused economic stress.

You are not allowed to cite the war in Iraq or Afghanistan for several reasons. First, all this was predicated by the 9-11 attacks (which happened because Slick Willy kicked the terrorism issue down the road). Second, there was almost universal support in the democratic congress for the move on Saddam.

The only possible problem with Bush initiatives were the “no child left behind” boondoggle and Part D Medicare (which presents valid pros and cons). If you can’t cite real facts, why don’t you just STFU about Bush?

        • Jeff

You are absolutely wrong about Iraq. There was universal support among Republicans for that idiotic war, but not among Democrats. In the House, most Democrats voted ‘NO.” In the Senate, Democrats voted for the resolution 29-21 and some of those voting in favor of giving W the benefit of the doubt paid dearly. That vote cost Hillary the presidency.

1 (2%) of 49 Republican senators voted against the resolution: Sen. Chafee (R-RI).
The only Independent senator voted against the resolution: Sen. Jeffords (I-VT)

As you will recall, Bush claimed he needed the Resolution to force Saddam's hand and to avoid war. I knew that was B.S. and so should the Senate Democrats. But there's a tradition of supporting the president in foreign policy. Looking back over our recent presidents, I can't think of any who would have invaded Iraq under those circumstances – not Reagan, not Bush, Sr., nobody. No, that war is squarely on Bush and his band of Neocons.

I blame President Lyndon Johnson for our current mess, after all he came up with the “Great Society” scheme, plunged us into the Viet Nam War, And started several social “wars”.His “Great Society” produced “Entitlements” that were instant success, for the corrupt. He raided the Social Security funds, by moving it into the General Fund, so He could SPEND it, he started a “War on Poverty”, today we have more poverty than we had before he started that “war”. His socialist policies put us on the road of deficit spending, and we haven’t stopped since.

    • KG

I don’t understand. Johnson fought the Vietnam war AND went to the Moon AND ended his presidency with a SURPLUS. The first, I might say, since Clinton left office in 2000.

DUH, DUH,DUH! “The chief reason for the $3.2 billion surplus in the LBJ 1969 budget…President Johnson adopted a recommendation to sweep all the independent trust funds into a “unified” budget. This brought in the huge surpluses carried on the books by Social Security and the Civil Service Retirement and Disability Fund, among others. This action served to mask the overwhelming costs of the Vietnam War and surely “delivered” the $3.2 billion surplus.”

This practice of hiding the true deficit by including trust fund surpluses continues to this day, even though Social Security has since been declared “off-budget.”

Clinton never had a surplus either…that is also a myth.

What KG said is this ” I don’t understand. Johnson fought the Vietnam war AND went to the Moon AND ended his presidency with a SURPLUS. The first, I might say, since Clinton left office in 2000

Hmmmm, “The first, I migh say, since Clinton left office”?

PRAVDA: Obama ‘Re-elected By Illiterate Society’…
    Obama’s Soviet Mistake – Pravda.Ru

Recently, Obama has been re-elected for a 2nd term by an illiterate society and he is ready to continue his lies of less taxes while he raises them. He gives speeches of peace and love in the world while he promotes wars as he did in Egypt, Libya and Syria. He plans his next war is with Iran as he fires or demotes his generals who get in the way.

Putin in 2009 outlined his strategy for economic success. Alas, poor Obama did the opposite but nevertheless was re-elected. Bye, bye Miss American Pie. The Communists have won in America with Obama but failed miserably in Russia with Zyuganov who only received 17% of the vote. Vladimir Putin was re-elected as President keeping the NWO order out of Russia while America continues to repeat the Soviet mistake.

As for Egypt, Obama supported the Arab Spring and the Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood’s revolution to remove Hosni Mubarak under the disguise of “democracy”. That meddling has worked out well for stabilizing Egypt and the middle east.

Regarding Syria, it was Obama who signed the order to authorized support for the Muslim Brotherhood controlled Islamist rebels to overthrow Syria’s Bashar al-Assad.

Iran? HONOLULU Nov. 11, 2011 – President Obama didn’t rule out a military option with Iran to deal with its nuclear program at a press conference Sunday. He said that sanctions have had “enormous bite and scope” so far and vowed to pursue diplomatic avenues but re-emphasized that all options are available.

“We are not taking any options off the table. Iran with nuclear weapons would pose a threat not only to the region but also to the United States,” Obama said.

Nice twist Jeff H! Not totally accurate but why should we expect anything different from you!

  • chuckb

jeffh, the ruissians learned well from us. they sent us their politics back in the twenties and after ninety years we now are where they started. the bolshevik party in washington has no where to go but down. the soviet bolsheviks failed, however, they saw the shining city on the hill in this country and have now after all these years captured the prize,
they did it the easy way, they gained control of the education system, they used minorities as their pawns, (civil rights act of 1964) their front line troops were federal, state and union employees. unfortunately for them they destroyed a great economy by driving business out of the country, denigrating our energy supply and now in the process of taxing the working people to pay for all the entitlements that keep their troops fed.

    • JeffH

chuckb, I cannot argue that but I’d bet the bolshevik parties in washington would.

      • Jeff

As would anyone with an ounce of sanity.

      • JeffH

        Troll

So, in light of what you just posted, will you be voting in the next election, chuckb?

      • Motov

There might be a midterm election but I don’t think there will be another presidential one

    • Marty S.

Productivity in this country is going to nosedive once the average worker realizes that more than half of their wages are paying for all those do-nothings in this country and I am NOT talking about retirees, the truly disabled etc. What would happen if we producers all threw in the towel at once?

      • s mart pants

Atlas will have shrugged . Hostess is just the start. Linerals argue that they were doomed to fail having gone thru previous bankruptcy . [expletive deleted] they called the unions bluff .

      • s mart pants

        Atlas shrugged

      • Jeff

But you won’t because you presumably make a lot more money “producing” than you would on Unemployment.

  • http://yahoo Lowrider

It really is just a coincidence that the only states that voted for Obama are states that did not require voter ID and every state that did require ID did not vote for him. Obvious that there was no chance of fraud. Wonder what ACORN was up to?

  • chuckb

lowrider, there is no one left to contest this election, the wimpy republicans are willing to accept the biggest fraudulent election in history. they proved what wimps they are for not raising helkl about benghazi before the election, if the republicans were in power and pulled something like barry did, they would have had immediate hearings and called for the impeachment of the republican president. go back and check water gate out, the media did the job for the bolsheviks, do you hear them now? no, and you won’t. deasr old sam irvin, the father iof the term dirty tricks, what a laugh on us.

another joke, carl bernstein and bob woodward, did you ever wonder why their enthusiasm was so great to investigate nixon? check out the linkage between carl bernstein and ethel rosenberg, nixon was hated by the communist due to his battle against communism.

there’s a good chance we will never be able to recover this country, they have a grip on the feeble minds who sold their country for the promise of entitlements. and a very weak republican party is of no help.

    • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing Wake The Sleepers(Jay)

chuckb, give it a rest. What we have in Washington is a pack of hyenas who fight amongst themselves for supremacy, but work extremely well together to bring down their prey, “we the sheeple”! Separate the pack into two groups, if it makes you feel any better, and delude yourself into believing that one group is less carnivorous or blood-thirsty then the other, but it doesn’t change the fact that you are still dealing with blood-thirsty, beasts. Forget the stupid-labels…labels are like bait on a fish-hook, they attract and separate all the dull-witted from the herd!

      • chuckb

sorry jay, can’t buy your consensus. that’s too easy to blame the big bad wolf controlling all these politicians. in my mind that’s delusional. i can’t argue that the republican party isn’t controlled by big money or the bolshevik party is controlled the same way, however, their philosophy is different, one is looking for capital power the other is not only after money they want political power over the mass. in fact the bolsheviks are after worldly power. why do you think bill clinton and barry both spend the time they do in front of the tv camera, can you name a day barry isn’t seen on tv? i can’t.
the blacks look upon this guy as some kind of black messiah. we may be looking at our first emperor.
of course you may be right.

        • Jeff

“the blacks look upon this guy as some kind of black messiah. we may be looking at our first emperor.”

Do they now? I guess you’re in pretty tight with “the blacks” just like The Donald. Pretty good trick for a racist idiot. If we shine the spotlight on you, what will we see? The last surviving southern white racist? Honestly, most of you guys do a little better job of hiding your bigotry. We barely survived 8 years of W, the WORST president in U.S. history, and all you guys can do is rag on his successor (a) because he’s Black (b) because he’s a Democrat and (c) because he’s not a faith healer who can rid the nation of the stench of Bush over night.

Last time I checked, chuckie, the Bolsheviks never got elected to anything. Better come up with an analogy that makes sense somewhere other than tinfoil hat land.

          • Motov

I see you lobbed the racist card, Obama has a big problem with telling the truth.
When one doesn’t doesn’t walk his talk, how can you put faith into him?
It is not a racist thing, it’s a character thing, Obama is the worst example of a human being that walked on the face of the earth. Even worse than the Shrub.
He is just full of deception, and once he has you where he wants you, he will dispose of you without hesitation. The man does not have a sense of guilt of what he is doing to this nation. He is openly violating what he was sworn to protect the Constitution.
You are still blaming Bush for Obama’s failed policy, The democrats call themselves the champion of the poor folks, so they make as many poor folks as posible to keep their power over them, That’s why he wants to tax the crap outta the middle class, so he can make them poor too and DEPENDENT on government.

          • Jeff

“When one doesn’t doesn’t walk his talk, how can you put faith into him?
It is not a racist thing, it’s a character thing, Obama is the worst example of a human being that walked on the face of the earth. Even worse than the Shrub.”

The worst? Really? There’s still you and chuckb, after all.
Don’t you guys ever learn? The voters told you morons they’re not buying your hyperbole about Obama. Give it a rest already. Take up knitting or something.

      • Motov

        @ Jeff
These “so called voters” votes from dead people, non US citizens, multiple voters, machines rigged to vote for one candidate regardless who they voted for, “Lost” military
votes, Voting places where there were just “Obama reps” and “Romney Reps” were not allowed to be present, Voters who couldn’t vote due to Sandra’s destruction.
Hardly a democracy at work here,…I think “my hyperbole” is an understatement.
I know we have a Constitutionally illegal “President” in office, I cannot rest, because our lives, our Liberties, and our abilities to pursue happiness is in serious doo-doo.

  • Motov

That is because the Republican party is really Democrat Party Lite, loaded with RINOS

  • Smarty arty

Heck of a job you’re doing there Brownie / Obama.
