The Keith To Our Hearts

January 25, 2011 by

The Keith To Our Hearts

It’s official, kids: MSNBC finally decided to get their heads in the game. After eight years of Democrat talking points, incomprehensible Leftist babble and the most inexplicably smug presentation outside a Michael Moore “documentary,” the official television outlet of the tinfoil-hat set has tossed Keith Olbermann onto the pavement in front of “30 Rock.”

While rumors are flying like the spittle Olbermann used to launch at the camera whenever someone pointed out Bill O’Reilly was tripling his ratings, the real story may never be told. The real reason the higher-ups at MSNBC pushed Olbermann out of the clown car is actually immaterial. Evidently, spending the better part of a decade vying with CNN for the title of “second least-watched cable news outlet” wasn’t going to cut it in the new Comcast/NBC business model.

Olbermann was the lynchpin of a roster which included Chris “Tingle-Boy” Matthews, his own nauseating mini-me, Rachel Maddow, and the worthless Ed Schultz; all helplessly locked in a ratings race with the immensely more appealing and talented crew at Fox News. To be sure, the Olbermann/MSNBC response to Fox’s dominance generally involved insulting Fox viewers, thereby guaranteeing that no one would ever jump the fence to MSNBC’s yard.

But I come not to bury Olbermann; I want to offer him some career advice. After all, I would hate to see him panhandling in Central Park. Imagine Olbermann with a hand-lettered cue card and an empty latte cup, wandering around the reservoir — “Will make fat jokes about Chris Christie for money”. That’s cruel… to the pigeons.

So, what’s next for our erstwhile ranter-in-chief?

Fox News?

Olbermann is a liberal, so pulling a doughnut in the parking lot of principle shouldn’t be a problem. This is the same guy who was pulling down close to eight figures annually while simultaneously decrying the evils of “the rich.” One small problem: Fox has about as much use for a mewling liberal never-was as the vast majority of American viewers had for… well… Olbermann. And Rupert Murdoch terminated Olbermann with prejudice the last time; calling him “crazy.” Oops. Let’s move on.

CNN?

Anderson Cooper is better looking AND better sounding. And there’s no way Olbermann could possibly pull off sincerity while interviewing the “Real Housewives of the Upper West Side.”

HLN?

Joy Behar is just as grating as Olbermann, and she’s a girl, so she looks better in EEOC filings.

PBS?

The darlings on the government dole would love to have him, but at $7 million per year, they can’t afford him. Even if they could, if they hire Olbermann, they’ll be able to time Congressional de-funding of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in nanoseconds.

CBS?

This one’s highly unlikely, if only because the last time they let one of their “anchors” get out of hand, Dan Rather almost brought the house down. And Andy Rooney will still be funnier after he’s dead.

ABC?

Olbermann’s infamous inability to treat his coworkers with a modicum of decency spelled doom at Disney sister ESPN; once the brass realized Dan Patrick was carrying the show. And Olbermann pretty much set fire to the bridge to Bristol on his way out, earning what even he describes as a “lifetime ban” from their Connecticut campus.

Talk Radio?

Liberals function about as well on the commercial band as Rachel Maddow would at the Miss America pageant. Besides, Ed Schultz can’t spare the listener.

New media start-up?

Look how well that worked out for Al Gore; and Gore invented both the Internet AND global warming. All Olbermann can claim is the invention of the nerdy sneer — not exactly ratings platinum.

Al Jazeera?

All right, that one’s cheap. I couldn’t resist.

O.K., so Olbermann’s days in the media may be at an end. But the world needs him. He’s a valuable contributor to… er… he’s an important part of… um… well, we certainly don’t want to see him abandoned like journalistic integrity in the newsroom he commanded until recently. It’s not as if there’s a “Plan B” for guys like Keith; getting your clock cleaned by Fox isn’t something you put on a job application.

He could always go work for the White House. If they found work for that stoner from “Harold and Kumar Buy More Weed” (or whatever), then they can certainly find work for Olbermann.

They owe him that much.

I must say I find myself hurt and yet not entirly surprised. As a liberal I tended to agree with Mr. Olbermann on certain issues, if not the spirit of the arugument he was making. However sometimes I felt worried as I felt his rhetoric seemed little better then the rhetoric of those he denounced. At times it almost seemed as though he was simply resorting to down right name calling. Though at one point Mr. Jon Stewart of The Daily Show called Mr. Olbermann out on this matter and Mr. Olbermann promptly replied with an apology and a confession of his mistake so he certainly wasn’t without self control. So however I felt about Mr. Olbermann I am sorry to see him go. The only comment on this article I would like to say is in regard to what Mr. Crystal said that appeared to be opinion of Liberals. ” Olbermann is a liberal, so pulling a doughnut in the parking lot of principle shouldn’t be a problem”. While I can understand and perhaps even agree with Mr. Crystals opinion on Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Olbermanns ideology I would ask that Mr. Crystal please not allow his personal views of one liberal to reflect on his views and opinions of liberals in general. As a liberal I take pride in my views, and on a personal level I despise those who betray their beliefs or principles or suddenly change them for the sake of political advantage. As such and I mean no disrespect to Mr. Crystal, I take personal offense from his opinion of liberals because I do not feel it represents the moral or personal standards of myself or any liberals I know. As I know this was not Mr. Crystals intent I do not wish to insult or disrespect him. I just wish to please ask him to focus on Mr Olbermann. and not allow his personal views of liberals in general to enter into this argument.

I am not a liberal but agree with you about not judging all liberals [or all one anyuthing] buy the actions or comments of liberal. Unfortunatly that goes on on both side of the isle and quite frankly with in each side of the isle. I guess it’s human nature. I would like to comment that I think it is time for the liberal [and honestly call yourself progressive becuase that is the real movement] to break down thier beliefs to 2 parts rather than one. Progressivism won’t survive, and politicallyi don’t care if it does , without our free society IE: America. but the 2 parts should be fiscal and social. Social issue are the debatable ones; aboprtion, social welfare programs etc. Fiscal shouldn’t be debatable! we need to spend only what we collect in taxes, we should not be heavily taxed as US citizens, and no one class [rich/middle/poor]should be taxed any different than any other. It’s interesting how the left has social justice so high on the list yet advocates an injust financial policy. No one [except an employer] should determine how much someone makes or that someone has a greater social libal becuase of there earning capacity. If we want to be the poster child for equality we ned to be equal to all classes. Especially becuase the rich in our country by far and large are incredibly gererous on the charity front. Charitable fund raising in America is a large industry. that never seems to be said. Lastly It’s time we all start to look at thing like there is a process to accomplish goals and debate is about the goals we want to accomplish. That right out of the whole creates a much more civil debate and makes it easier from an ego POV to compromise. Sorry to blather on but your comments were respectful and so I figured you might actually read this and consider it. Hopefully your not in the NE freezing your butt off like me.

Interesting how you place money above the deaths of millions of babies……. just sayin’.

Liberalism/progressivism is just another word for Markism which is another word for socialism which is another word for communism which is another word for statism which is another word for …..

Evil is evil, good is good. It’s only a matter of degree….

        • Dwayne

It never cease to amaze me how so call intelligent people can be
so stupid. Your comments qualify you!

          • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Linda

          • EddieW

Liberalism is just plain WRONG!!! I know, there are those far more liberal than others! Olberman was hideously evil!! kind of like Dirty Harry Reid…totally corrupt & evil!!! but if find it interesting, that Liberals cannot accept truth!! this is fascinating!!! Hawaiian officials now SWEAR…there is no Obaba birth certificate!! Because he was born in Kenya!!! yet…they …the liberals…don’t believe it!!! They also called a super liberal, that shot up the place in Arizona…a Republican!!! Blame and name is all they have!!!

        • Bus

I think you mean Marxism. He was a German

        • bob wire

“Liberalism/progressivism is just another word for Markism which is another word for socialism which is another word for communism which is another word for statism which is another word for …..”

Taking great liberties with words is in part why the GOP finds it’s self in the splintered mess it is in today.

I would encourage anyone to refrain from this “all to common” practice and get a grip on your tongue and your thoughts.

In any case, I’m glad Olberman is gone. He had out grown his “usefulness” with his pointed and “over the top” Nanny nanny Poo poo style.

Keith will, without a doubt land on his feet somewhere and again be a force to be reckoned with by the GOP.

It is not uncommon for any trench fighter to find the need of a “timeout” to access and regroup.

As I said, I’m glad the “coaching staff” benched him. He’ll be back.

        • michelleo

A BIG HUGE AMEN DAGNEY :)

        • Void1972

Very true Dagney! They come in many colors, with many different names, but in the end they are evil, pure and simple!

        • who cares

Dagney, I cant wait for this country to become a real socialist just to get you dumb asses to shut up once and for all. U.S.A. is not socialist/communist as you first grader think it is. Even germany, England, as is China, Japan is socialist. our socialism system is how the U.S rolls. who would pay for the Military, Police, Infrastructure the road you use to go and from work. If you leave it to your stupids side republicans we will be back at the stone age, if you leave it to the free market are you going to pay to repair or put down a side walk what about paying a monthly fire department fee?? your side is communist. Stop being dumb asses think before you open your ass to speack.

          • RWW

            Shut your dumb–!

      • Bruce D.

Rob I appreciate what seems like a sincere post but fiscal responsibility and socialism do not go hand in hand. Once people realize you are taking the money that they have worked hard for only to give it to someone else they tend to not like it and make changes. Socialism only survives as long as people have confidence in governments printing as much money as they need to make ends meet. A society of redistribution based solely on productivity falls quickly into decline.

      • Jerry

        Uh, what is aboprtion?

    • Anti Government

Jeremy, Well said. It does seem that money has once again silenced the left. With a rouge Supreme Court we have entered an era of pay to play.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Anti Government-thanks for the compliment. I apologize for sounding rude or stupid. Its just based on what I think your post is saying I would like to point out the views in my post are mine and mine alone. I was not payed to say them and I do trully believe them. And I believe the left is not in the pay of anyone either.

      • skip

Pay to play it will be, unfortunately. WIth big business, and I mean the entrenched interests, not the job creators, calling the shots, the middle class is now and forever more will be history. This nation is absolutely nothing without a strong and prospering middle class, and the middle class will be legislated out of existence by the current House of Representatives and totally disenfranchised by the current Supreme Court – the warmth of human kindness is absent from both. Try Republican congressman Paul Ryan’s idea of Medicare purchased with vouchers – this is blatant insanity. Here in California, Anthem Blue Cross raised its rates 38% last year, 25% this year for people with no pre-existing conditions, to about $5000 a year for a healthy 42 year old teacher making less than$35,00O a year, with a high deductible and outrageous co-pays. Now think of what they would charge an 85 year old, who by definition will have tons of pre-existing conditions and probably ongoing illnesses – I would surmise the premium would be well in excess of $100,000 a year. A straightforward analogy would be the cost of term life insurance as one gets older. So tell me, all of you middle class hard working Americans, how you want your medical insurance served up, or your Social Security, or the safety of your food, or the safety of your medicines, or the condition of your roads, or airport security and the like. If you want all of that controlled by the profit motive, and returns to the shareholders, let me know. I always thought the citizens were the shareholders in our government, but we have given up our share to the lobbyists who truly run our country and are now working on controlling what he hear, what we see, and the like. No, it is not government that is in the way, but rather the horrific influence of entrenched interests who control our legislators. Watch out for them, please, and when you see something that you don’t quite understand and that might not add up as in your best interest, ask who paid for it. What did Goldman Sachs do for you personally in the last several years? Please tell me if it was anything helpful or good.
As best I can tell, they participated in wrecking the economy, caused millions of job losses, fired a lot of their staff, and made billions for their investors on the inside. Oh, but they paid tens of millions to our legislators, which did pump some money into the economy!

      • who cares

AntiGoverment, your more stupid then you know you are. You are right The supreme court is rouge they are communists. the supreme court and the republicas right wing nut gave recognition and voice as a human to corporation, it is why Fox opinio news can say what ever crap they want and to who ever, if all fails they start crying freedom speech right, freedom of speech rights. just remember you guys suck and you’r communist and suck icecles that look like ??

    • DaveH

Jeremy — “moral or personal standards” of a Liberal?
What Morality? Do you mean the Morality of taking other peoples’ money? Do you mean the Morality of using Big Government to deny Religious people the right to pray or display religious symbols? Do you mean the Morality of forcing your personal choices on others, using Big Government as your Bully Boys?
I haven’t known a Liberal yet who is even remotely capable of claiming to be a moral person.

      • Anti Government

Matthew 19:24 – Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” The wealthiest 1% own more wealth than the bottom 95% combined. Who are the moral ones here? It seems to me that the system is broken.

        • DaveH

Well for one thing, Anti, that is a fabricated fact, so right there you lose me.

          • DaveH

You’ll have to read a way into the article to see the meat:
            http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2009/oct/01/michael-moore/moore-says-top-1-percent-owns-more-financial-wealt/

“These mathematical differences are enough to switch Moore’s assertion from correct to incorrect. By Kennickell’s measurement of “financial wealth,” the top 1 percent own 31.5 percent of the financial wealth — less than the 40.2 percent for the bottom 95 percent. That indicates a large chunk of the wealth for the top 1 percent comes from vehicles, second homes, businesses and hobbies. (We presume it’s the top 1 percent that owns the Ferraris and summer homes in the Hamptons.)”

        • DaveH

The fact that they are Rich has no bearing on their morality (one way or the other). If, Anti, you want a level playing field then vote for Free Markets. Get Government out of the markets so that anybody with the talent and drive can compete for the brass ring.
As long as you vote for Big Government, there will be people taking advantage of others, whether they be the Political Class or their Crony-Capitalists.

        • don

Anti, you are correct – the economist that Dave referred to, did not count for their homes, second homes, antiques, artwork, businesses and hobbies. Dave missed your point about entry into the Kingdom of God, but atheists like Dave could care less about that point.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Dave with all due respect I disagree on liberalism. I have no desire to take other peoples money. I see us all as living in a free society and a republic. As such I see it as an honor if not a patriotic duty to pay taxes so we can fund all the programs of our inferstructure. While we certainly disagree on how much should go to how many programs I dont see the idea or principle of using our government with our own money to pay for the services we all need and use as inherently bad. As for religious beliefs I agree with you. I think its wrong if laws are made that deny people the right to express their beliefs. I think my only worry is that those who do not believe in any particular religion or perhaps even those who believe in a different religion then the ones who wish to express beliefs in their religion may have their rights to freedom of religion violated. Its a fine line and I have no desire for anyone to be denied freedom of religion. Its just difficult to ensure one religion can express itself as it sees fit without running the risk of violating another religions right to express itself as it sees fit. And then theres seperation of church and state where no religion can be treated as or called an official religion. It gets very complicated and I have no desire to just blindly go through the debate. Perhaps I just think that we can use the government if good people are in it to make laws to protect each others rights and to prevent each other from violating those rights. Its a balance that is always violated eventually but at least we can try to maintain it and thats what I believe. As for personal choice I have no desire for that. I may seem naive but I have always thought the people elected to power are supposed to represent the majority. We need good people as representatives of course and we have to make sure the minority isn’t left out in the cold. However I feel if the majority view a choice as favorable I don’t see it as personal choice being subjected on the people. Hey give me a specific example and maybe you’ll have me stumped. But for now thats my take. I guess Dave at the end of my long winded answer you and I disagree on numerous political issues obviously. However I see no reason for that to suggest that either of us is somehow morally inferior to each other. Just because I believe in using our government to help the people dosen’t make me a tyrant. And you wanting less government as I believe you do dosen’t make you heartless. Depending on policies I suppose you or I could denounce each other as being morally corrupt or incompetent. But if the only difference right now is im a liberal and your a conservative you and I can’t denounce each others morals or principles on labels alone. And we cant denounce liberals or conservatives based solely on their being either liberals or conservatives.

        • Anti Government

Well said Jeremy and with out any vilifying statements about the other side. We can get along.

        • Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity’

Jeremy, that is one of the most sensible viewpoints I have ever seen – certainly on this site – and maybe anywhere else, for that matter.

        • bob wire

Dave only has two boxes to put everything. A bad box and a good box.

There is no gray or shadows in Dave’s world.

I use too be much the same way so I’m not confused with such views.

Where there be life, there be hope but Dave has dug in like a Louisiana tick and has no plans of ever letting go.

          • DaveH

That, Bob, is because I have Principles and stick to them, even if it costs me money or other comforts.
I have never taken advantage of anybody in my personal life or at the voting booth. You Liberals may be able to rationalize taking other peoples’ money at the voting booth, but I can’t.
You are no better than common thieves. Your gang is just bigger.

        • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Linda

liberals are evil what is wrong with you they are no good never will be and they will get their just reward

          • bob wire

another two box person. ~ It’s common

My guess, is ~ there is 20 million, two box Americans today that vote.

The German people was left with a hell of a two box choice back in the early 30′s . Left to Vote for a Socialist party or a Nazi party.

The Socialist party won the election but with some 30% of the German people supporting the Nazi party they thought it would be a good gesture to appoint A. Hitler as Chancellor just to please this large 30% of the German voters. ~ In only 58 days, Hitler installed himself as a Dictator.

So 30% or even 20% can hold sway over greater numbers.

Having only two box people around is just as dangerous today as it was then.

          • DaveH

Bob Wire, as usual you give the obtuse response. The Nazi party was the Socialist Party. For anybody that wants to know the Truth:
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_Germany

And, Bob, you fit very nicely into the Liberal box. So don’t try to kid us.

          • bob wire

okay two box Dave! You just let me know when you want to splits hairs! I can work with you. I don’t have a problem with more then two boxes.

The National Socialist German Workers’ Party (German: About this sound Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei commonly known in English as the Nazi Party (from the German Nazi, abbreviated from the pronunciation of Nationalsozialist[5]), was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers’ Party (DAP) prior to a change of name in 1920.

The party’s last leader, Adolf Hitler, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. Hitler rapidly established a totalitarian regime ( in 58 frigging days!) known as the Third Reich.

          • bob wire

Dave says; “And, Bob, you fit very nicely into the Liberal box. So don’t try to kid us.”

Just make it a really big box Dave! Okay? I don’t enjoy crowds and tight spaces. I got a lot of ~ stuff and large conservative friends.

          • Curtis

Hey DaveH… you’re wrong. You wrote “The Nazi party was the Socialist Party.”
Yes, that was their name, but are you saying the People’s Republic of China is truly a republic? Really? The German Democratic Republic… was neither democratic or a republic, but according to your logic they must have been, because their name says so. The Nazi Party were fascists. From wikipedia… “Though normally described as being on the far right, there is a scholarly consensus that fascism was also influenced by the left, but with a focus on solutions from the right”.

Also from wikipedia… “insistence on the inclusion of the term “socialist” in the party’s name had caused tension among members of the party, including Adolf Hitler, who preferred the name “Social Revolutionary Party.” It may have been part of their name, but Nazis were never socialists.

          • who cares

Linda, your communist daddy bush was the one who started two wars. that would make him the baby killer, NO wait he avoided the draft he chicken out he even went AWOL!! to bush america was not good enough not even to serve. If it was’nt for the communist right wing supreme court who appointed bush for president this country would not be the mess we are in. if it makes you feel better drink a can of dumb ass juice and blame the liberal.

        • Debbie Allen

Although you use a lengthy script. You yourself point out that in order to have the government control everything for what they think is the “perceived good of the people”, they must have honest good lawmakers with high moral fiber. I’m sorry but who do you think you are kidding. Have you even looked at the corruption in our government as their actions prove over and over again each and every day? Why must you insult the intelligence of the American people or demean their ability to know is best for them. This government is all about taking away freedoms and liberties for their own gain. Since our founders fought and were inspired to write the Constitution of the United States, America has been the greatest nation on earth. Why else would there be such a desire for people from all over the world seek so diligently to get here. Now, under the direction of evil men who seek nothing but riches for themselves and power has our great country fallen to such depths. It’s absolutely absurd for anyone who values their own integrity and personal freedom to believe the double-talk, double-standards and trash that this liberal administration is handing out. They are evil and seek only to prosper themselves and those in their secret combinations. No government should ever be used to legislate everything that happens in our land. You cannot legislate free speech, you cannot legislate freedom of religion or the pursuit of happiness for your own selfish bias. Sorry, I just buy the gibberish you’re putting out! If you want to help, start by standing up to minimize the length and breadth of government and start by pointing out the evil, corrupt men and women who now control it for personal gain. Yes, we can all get along and live wonderfully together. That is the joy of living in a country where people can openly voice their opinions. The great freedom however, is now only in effect for the liberals. They can rant and rage and stir up anger and hate in our nation and seek with every method they can possible device to limit the rights of the other side. I see nothing great about that. I only see deception and the insidious pouncing on any tragedy, either real or set up by themselves to further agitate the masses into deceiving them into passing more laws to take away more rights until they control everything in our lives. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see what’s going on.

        • DaveH

Pay for services we all need? That’s a very large blanket, Jeremy. You aren’t paying with your own money. You are choosing things to pay with other peoples’ money. You can pay for services YOU need by buying them on the private market. You are voting to spend other peoples’ money on things they don’t need or desire.
You Liberals/Progressives just don’t get it do you?
Hong Kong is a very complex modern state, yet they manage to get their infrastructure needs met with Government spending of 19% of GDP.
The United States spends 39% of GDP.

          • bob wire

As the man that helped bring “Pizza Inn” to Hong Kong in 78″ and spent 15 months getting it up and running I think I might know more then you think about Hong Kong Dave. ~ What else would you like to discuss?

Big things don’t come from small minds Dave. They just don’t seem to fit!

You can’t be so afraid of someone else winning that it freezes you from acting.

I want people to win! I want them to work with a big smile on their face and purpose in the step.

Perhaps I am a Liberal ~ What does one look like Dave?

  • JeffH

I hear NPR is looking for a someone to replace Juan Williams timeslot or maybe, just maybe, the White House might need another lackey to replace Lacky Gibbs. Just kidding!

Seriously though, Olbermann could get a job with NUTZ radio on Little Diomede Island in the middle of the Bering Straights. He’d certainly get a boost in listeners, all 170 of them AND he’d be able to see Russia from his front porch on a clear day. Hope he can learn to speak the Inuit language.

      ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!LOLOLOLOLOLOL

    • JUKEBOX

There is an equally vitriolic left wing whacko hiding out in obscurity in the mountains of North Georgia by the name of Mike Malloy who has a broadcast from a cave up there. Maybe Keith can go join him and have at least two people to hear them, but no one is ever going to pay him $100,000 per listener any more.

  • http://deleted Claire

I truthfully think they are all cut from the same cloth. They are all alike in many ways, except some are right wing and the others are left wing. One is no better than the other.

    • Al Sieber

Very well put Claire, I agree with you, most of them are told what to say.

    • Bruce D.

There are those who are sincere in their beliefs both on the left and the right. Williams was fired for his sincerity. The left and right promote two different ideologies. If they promote them and do not lie about the facts problems could be resolved through common sense.

    • DaveH

      I agree, Claire.
I am caught in the middle between the lefties who want to steal our money and take away our freedom of choice (except the choice to kill unborn babies), and the righties who want to save us from ourselves even if they have to murder us to do it:
      http://www.copblock.org/1594/search-and-destroy-utah-swat-team-murders-drug-suspect-on-video/

What I would like to know is how religious people on either side can justify these actions? Maybe it’s time to start praying to your God for forgiveness.

      • DaveH

If you are sick of seeing Democrats and Republicans in the Political Class get away with crimes that any of us would be jailed for, then join me in the Libertarian Party. We can change things. But you need to get involved.
        http://libertarianparty.org/platform

        • BERT

UNFORTUNATE DAVE-H YOU GOT ONE THING WRONG IN YOUR STATEMENT. YOU STATED “Libertarian Party” WHEN YOU MEANT TES PARTY. “Libertarian Party” HAS BEEN AROUND AND THERE HAVE BEEN NO CHANGES. IF YOU WANT AMERICA, TO BE THE REAL AMERICA AGAIN INCLUDING “THE AMERICAN DREAM”, YOU BETTER CHECK OUT THE TEA PARTY. IT MAY BE YOUR LAST CHANCE.

          • Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity’

Dude…your tin-foil hat is resting on your CAPS LOCK key. Jus’sayin’…

          • DaveH

Bert, sorry but I said what I meant. I didn’t mean the Tea Party. There is no such political party. In fact a large portion of them are Libertarians.
Yes, we have been around for a long time. But don’t blame us — we voted Libertarian. Neither Republican Leaders nor Democrat Leaders want the Libertarians to come into power because we would shrink Government dramatically and thus their power. What would they do without their power and perks? Maybe get real jobs? Maybe become productive citizens?

        • http://deleted Claire

DaveH– I will take the Libertarian party over the “Tea Party” any day.

          • DaveH

            Thank you Claire.

          • JeffH

Personally, I don’t think you’d be wrong supporting either one.

          • http://deleted Claire

DaveH and JeffH– What is going on with Bachmann? I saw her giving a speech in Iowa and she was saying that John Quincy Adams stopped slavery? Signed law to stop slavery? I didn’t hear all of it but I did hear this much. What is the heck is wrong with her?

          • bob wire

Claire, Bachmann is a light weight and been know to say many things that borderline reality. Seem it has an “appeal factor” to the crowd she panders too.

I like her and wish she’d quit it.

          • JeffH

claire, I’m sure Bachmann’s reference to Adams was that he hated slavery and fought tirelessly for 8 years so that discussions about slavery and proposals about slavery could be deliberated in the House of Representatives.
            http://www.learningtogive.org/papers/paper191.html
In 1836, the southern contingent demanded not only a pledge of congressional immunity to antislavery action, but that all petitions challenging slavery be laid on the table without further consideration. Adams opposed this “gag rule”, but it passed, and JQA began his battle. Gradually he built support. Finally, in 1844 JQA presented his usual resolution in the House for the rescinding of the “gag rule” and it passed by 108-80. As a result of this action, discussions about slavery and proposals about slavery could be deliberated in the House of Representatives.

          • http://deleted Claire

JeffH–Well, she sure came across as being rather nutty. This is what I hate about politicians–I sometimes think oh boy here is someone to consider and then they speak and crazy stuff comes out of their mouths.

          • Bruce D.

The Libertarian Party is a non issue. They have always been an issue.

        • Al Sieber

          DaveH, I agree, I’m already a member.

      • Bruce D.

I went to the web site you gave Dave and it does not have anything to do with religious people on the right wanting to murder people. I have never come into contact with any religious people on the right who wanted to murder anyone and I know a lot of them.

        • JeffH

Bruce D., I don’t think you are understanding the message from DaveH. He didn’t say all lefties and all righties. Obviously there are those that don’t overlook and support the actions of the extremes.

        • DaveH

Duh, Bruce, who votes for the Drug Wars? I doubt it is the lefties.

        • DaveH

We have the druggies who voluntarily put those drugs in their bodies, the vast majority of whom never harm anybody.
Then we have the drug lords who are evil indeed and are getting rich off the ridiculous market prices for those drugs. Those ridiculously high prices are the result of the drug laws.
Then we have the drug warriors who conduct their Nazi-style raids on petty dealers, killing dogs, killing people in the process. And many of those warriors are no more moral than the people they attack. I’ve known some and it is shocking to hear the misbehavior that they are guilty of.
Finally we have the innocent victims of those drug raids who are in no way participants of the drug wars. They just get caught in the middle.
Since over 75% of the people in this country claim to be Christians, my question is — Where are they when all these innocent victims are being murdered? Where are the religious protests when those cops act as Judge, Jury, and Executioner?

          • Bruce D.

Dave H says: “and the righties who want to save us from ourselves even if they have to murder us to do it”. You have a good imagination Dave to equate drug enforcement with those on the right wanting to murder people. That is by far the most contrived argument you have ever made Dave and you have come up with a lot of them. Also California is left and voted against the poliferation of drugs. Also Pat Roberson is right and came out against enforcement of pot laws.

          • DaveH

Bruce, can I help it if you have a reading disability? Cops have killed many innocent victims in their zeal. The video killing is not rare. Who are the bad guys here? The guy minding his own business in his own home, or the storm troopers who busted in on him and shot him dead for brandishing a golf club? Are these cops acting on their own? Of course not, they have the support of the self-righteous right-wingers (and some others of course). I think the reason you protest so much is that you are one of the supporters.

          • Bruce D.

“and the righties who want to save us from ourselves even if they have to murder us to do it”
Really Dave that has got to be the dumbest thing you have ever posted.

          • Dan az

            So Bruce
you think that kicking in doors and shooting someone that has the right to defend him self is ok?Did you not read down further on that site and see how many innocent people where killed because of tips that went checked out just acted on.Give me your address I have a tip.

          • JUKEBOX

I, think that we should make drugs free to anyone who wants them, and as much as they want. There is only one caveat: If you OD, you lay there and suffer or die with no Obamacare. That should solve the drug problem in a year or so.

          • Al Sieber

DaveH, you’re right on, and Bruce, you need glasses, or need to go back to school.

          • Bruce D.

To equate that with conservative Christians wanting to murder people is ludicrous at best Dan. I am neither Christian or religious but believe that anyone caught selling drugs to minors should be put to death if proven guilty. I believe that drug dealers selling to those over eighteen should be imprisoned. Those caught using drugs should be fined for the burden they put on the social safety net but not imprisioned. I do not think that there are a lot of Christians out there promoting the murder of anyone. It is a silly argument to make.

          • DaveH

Your logic is just as twisted as the Liberal’s logic, Bruce.
I didn’t say Christians wanted to murder people. If you can’t read english that is your problem.
And your comment pretty much certifies the kind of twisted thinking many on the right exhibit.

          • Bruce D.

Al Siebert that is a direct quote from DaveH. What is your problem? State your case instead of just sucking up.

          • DaveH

Here is a direct quote from Bruce, the guy that believes in Murder:
“anyone caught selling drugs to minors should be put to death”.

Oh, sure, it’s okay because Bruce thinks he has a valid reason for it.

          • DaveH

Thanks, Bruce, for proving my point.

          • Al Sieber

Bruce, I don’t suck up to anyone.

        • Bruce D.

DaveH says: “What I would like to know is how religious people on either side can justify these actions”. No one is trying to justify these actions. That is all in your own mind Dave. People will never move to the Libertarian Party promoting that kind of nonsense. Your authoritarian style makes sure of that.

          • http://deleted Claire

DaveH–You hit the nail on the head, that is what frustrates people. They can’t stand common sense and rationality.

          • Bruce D.

DaveH, you are entitled to your progressive liberal viewpoints on drugs. Maybe that is why Bill Maher claims to be Libertarian. I stand by what I said. Anyone caught selling drugs to minors should be put to death if convicted in a court of law. Allan Greenspan is also Libertarian. I am not impressed.

          • DaveH

Yep, just like a Liberal. Stand behind Big Government to act on your immoral wishes.
The truth is that there would be no incentive to push drugs on anybody, let alone children, if the do-gooders like Bruce weren’t distorting the marketplace of drugs, thus causing their prices to soar, thus giving pushers a monetary incentive to entice others to use their drugs. Has anybody ever heard of cigarette pushers or alcohol pushers? Of course not, the monetary incentive isn’t great enough to bother with.
So, if our children are endangered by drugs, it is mostly because of self-righteous people like Bruce who have created the current conditions. So what should we do with Bruce?

          • DaveH

What has Alan Greenspan got to do with anything, Bruce?
You are really grasping for straws aren’t you?
Here is what my kind of people think of Alan’s behavior:
            http://reason.com/archives/2010/08/12/a-memo-to-alan-greenspan

          • Bruce D.

Also Dave you did not make your point as I am not part of the 75% of Christians that you seem to be blaming for these problems. That is just an inane argument.

  • Michael J.

Olbermann the Weathermann, that’s it, Liberals make more flip-flops than you could sell on a California beach after an oil spill anyway.
I am sure he can make the jump from breaking news to breaking wind quicker than a cross-dresser at an Al Qaeda Fatwah assembly. Come to think of it, breaking wind resembles what he’s been saying all along.

    • BERT

I HAVE OFTEN WONDERED IF THE LIBERALS MOUTHS ARE MOVING SO FAST, THAT THEIR OWN BRAINS CAN’T MAKE SENSE OUT OF WHAT IS BEING SAID BY THEM.

      • bob wire

No Bert, you just are not able to keep up. ~ Sometimes I can’t either. I don’t hear well and use caption to keep up. Keith can actually think and talk that fast.

I find it ~~ most annoying as well.

    • JUKEBOX

I agree, because he and his cohorts at MSNBC all have a terminal case of rectal cranial inversion.

  • Warrior

I think the term “clown car” sums up MSNBC rather well. LOL!

    • bob wire

yea, I got a little chuckle out of it at well. I enjoy a good zinger.

Clown Car ! lol ! The imagery is rich Ben. good one.

      • http://deleted Claire

Clown cars? They are all Bozos.

  • Anthony

At least MSNBC has the guts to get rid of somebody. FOX NEWS has many Keith Olbermanns and would never get rid of them because the mindless drones who listen to conservative talk radio listen to FOX. These drones think everything they hear is true. What do you expect from people who think the Earth is 6000 years old and evolution and dinosaurs never happened.

    • BobS

There it is again. The mindless senseless babble.

      • Norm

        BobS
It makes a lot of sense to me.

        • Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity’

It makes sense to me too, Norm.

          • bob wire

Me too! Keith was only offering counter balance to years of what Fox had been serving up, hot and heavy. Keith was good at it and did well.

The thing is, Fox “changed along the way” (some anyway) while Keith had his teeth in it and refused to let go and failed to change tenor with the threat FOX offered.

Fox has just gotten better at what they do and Msnbc got worst in the sense MSNBC became alienating and polarizing. There need to be a “general appeal” factor that has gotten lost alone the way for MSNBC.

It was back during the late 70′s when the GOP operatives really pushed hard with “attacking” They seen no meaningful gains in defending anything! They would attack attempting to place the DNC in a defensive position.

They would attack with half truths , outright lies and embellishment. The natural response was to defend.

But in the time taken to defended, they could tell three more lies.

It is must quicker and easier to lie then to expose a lie.

And this is where Keith Olberman excelled! The man was that quick!

It was in part due to Olberman and Maddow and their supporting staff that forced the “much needed” changes made in the FOX team.

Olberman and Maddow with their supporting staff, were reading GOP mail and took their “talking points” apart. Their commentary often focused and highlighted FOX commentary and it’s many “embellishment”, half truths, falsehoods and pettiness.

Today, Fox does not take near the liberties with the truth like they use to enjoy and has became a better network station for it.

So in my thinking, we are own Olberman the respect you might a biting guard dog. ~ No ! you are right ! He’s not friendly and you don’t need to feel bad about not liking him.

It not unusual for people to become equal to what they hate in the heat of the fight. I think that goes a long way in explaining Olberman today.

    • Robin from Arcadia, IN

Anthony… Were you trying to make a point? If so, what? Why would FOX, or any other station fire people who are doing a good job? What kind of logic is that? I don’t watch MSNBC, so I have no comment on the people there. Do you watch FOX?

      • BERT

I CANT SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT Olbermann, BECAUSE I KNEW BETTER THAN TO WATCH OR LISTEN TO HIM.

    • Dagney

Hmmmm…..mindless drones and they happen to be MOST of the population who watches Fox News…. now who would a rational person believe? The name-caller or the rest of the population? Yes, I’ll stick with the rest of the population……

    • JKO

Ever researched it Anthony?????? I spent two YEARS of my life researching evolution with the idea that it was correct. Guess what I was wrong. There is more evidence for a Creator than the chances of evolution. I am a science and math teacher with a Master’s degree.
I search things out for myself and then make a decision. I don’t follow the lead of anyone.
As for any NBC station, as I have written before, when Janine Garofalo (sp. ?) spewed her venom about the tea parties I quit watching them altogether. I don’t care what Garofalo says but she needs a rebuttal from someone. They played her over and over and never gave one. FOX gets both sides when they can. They invite controversial people on all the time but the invitations are rarely accepted.
Beck has invited both Soros and Obama on to show where he is wrong. He even had a phone line for the Prez. to call and show where he is wrong and he never used it. If you don’t think it was hooked up someone actually called the number one day to let them know he had seen the number, so we know it was a working phone.
AND when Beck called Obama a racist and realized why he was wrong he gave his audience an explaination and the Prez an apology. O’Reilly has done the same. I have not seen that anywhere else.
I don’t mean to be direspectful, but you don’t know what you are talking about. See I have given you specifics, where are yours?

      • James

JKO, I agree. All man has ever witnessed is kind begetting like kind. If a couple of one color claimed to have reproduced an offspring of another color, who would believe it. There are no links between one species and another. Of course, if one denies the existence of a Creator, then there’s nothing left but evolution. However, it’s one thing to say ‘humans’ evolved from alligators, but quite another to say everything in the universe (suns, planets and the space they exist in, itself) evolved out of nothing. Wouldn’t evolutionists need faith to believe that? The Bible’s chronology dates the creation of Adam, not the universe.

        • JKO

If you research it out it takes more faith to believe evolution than creation.

        • Curtis

You’re lying. From what I remember… your imaginary guy created the Earth and Adam and Eve in around a week to ten days. So the universe has existed for billions of years, but the Earth has only been around for 6000 years? Please explain.

    • Bruce D.

Actually we do not believe that everything we hear is true. It is likely no one believes anything you say Anthony to be true.

    • JUKEBOX

I watch FOX NEWS, and I believe that history repeats itself, therefore, there has probably been an almost total destruction every 6000 years, and man has had to start over.

      • Curtis

YOU can believe whatever you want… but I like facts. There haven’t been mass extinctions every 6000 years.

  • BobS

I say “GOOD RIDDANCE”. We still have “Tingle Boy”, Rachel and Ed to laugh at their mindless and senseless babble.

    • Bruce D.

That is funny – Tingle Boy!

      • Warrior

        You sure it wasn’t tinkle?

        • JUKEBOX

Yeah, that’s why he had that funny feeling down his leg, he mistook it for something else.

    • stone

Never watched Keith, so no lose to me. While we are at it lets get rid of some of the rightest babble, like Rush, and all those on Fox fake news. Fair and Balanced my ass, they are so bias is isn’t funny. We would be better off without any of them right or left, we don’t need their personal opinions.

      • Bruce D.

What do you have against free speech Stone. Don’t like them don’t listen to them. Rush is the most listened to radio show in America.

        • stone

Don’t have anything against free speech. I just think people should do their own research and think for themselves and not listen to these talking heads. Their time could be better spent. I find most people just parrot what these individauls say.

Just like on the round table on Sundays. They all speak like they have all the answers (George Wil) not sure how he spell his last name. If he is so smart why doesn’t he run for office.

        • Tom from Idaho

Stone probably has never listened to Rush, except for the out of context clips from the lib shows. Unfortunately for Mr. Limbaugh, he has to spend much of his precious air time debunking the lies that are borne out of those clips.

          • stone

Trust me I have listened to Rush. I tune in every now and then just to hear what he is spewing. Nothing he says is based on facts, it’s all his personal opinion. Anyone who calls in and disagrees with him, sends him off into tantrum. Anyone who belives him needs a reality check. He pure intertainment and nothing else. I enjoy a good laugh from time to time. I don’t take him seriously.

As much as i say all these talking heads need to be turned off, some need them because they can’t think for themselves. You want the truth about whats going on here listen to the new from Europe about the US.

          • Bruce D.

Why would you rely on news from Europe Stone as Europeans promote socialistic government. That is unles you are a socialist yourself.

        • stone

Bruce, i don’t rely on news from Europe. All i was saying, is when they report on anything that is happening in the US, their view is not slanted because they have nothing to gain from it, they are not pro rep or dem.

I listen to a lot of news, various tv broadcasts, internet, the news alerts I get from Livingston, Common Cause, and other sources to keep an open mind. I have lived a long time, i have been registered as Dem, rep and indep. I owe nothing to any of them. I draw my own conclusions. I don’t need someone to tell me what to think. Once at work i was speaking to two female coworkers and mentioned policics, this was when Bush was still in office. They responded,” i don’t really follow polictics and when i vote i usually vote republican” There are too many people out there like that. They are not informed or easily swayed ( i vote the way my husband does), they have no clue.

          • Bruce D.

I listen to BBC and the Chinese English News stations when I am outside the country. Neither are anti American or have anti American sentiment. I did not find Al Jezzera as anti American as many say it is but has the most opposing views. Most smaller countries follow those countries in their close proximity. They are not obsessed with America as those on the left would have you believe.

        • http://deleted Claire

Limbaugh?? The squirming, finger tapping, grunting talk show host? Egads, I remember seeing him on TV a year or so ago, he was standing in one position and jumping up and down. Weird.

      • Laurie, Haslet, TX

another person who has NEVER watched or listened to either – just parroting the LIES from the left wing media.

Those of us who have SEEN both the jackals on MSNBC and the real truth on FOX – can tell the difference. Those who watch only MSNBC just parrot what they are told..

        • stone

I don’t put much stock in anything they say right or left. Fox speaks the truth, really. You should stop drinking the koolaide.

          • bob wire

No $hit Sherlock! FOX is today and has been a hot bed of disinformation.

A Ruppert, spit ball aimed at the knees of Americans.

      • Susie

And what about the liberal media?? Fox is fair and balanced and they do not lie.

        • stone

What is your favorite flavor, Cherry, Orange or what? “Fox speaks the truth, they do not lie” LOL,LOL,LOL

        • Anti Government

FOX is not a news station it is an entertainment station. Proof was as follows:

In February 2003, a Florida Court of Appeals unanimously agreed with an assertion by FOX News that there is no rule against distorting or falsifying the news in the United States.

Back in December of 1996, Jane Akre and her husband, Steve Wilson, were hired by FOX as a part of the Fox “Investigators” team at WTVT in Tampa Bay, Florida. In 1997 the team began work on a story about bovine growth hormone (BGH), a controversial substance manufactured by Monsanto Corporation. The couple produced a four-part series revealing that there were many health risks related to BGH and that Florida supermarket chains did little to avoid selling milk from cows treated with the hormone, despite assuring customers otherwise.

According to Akre and Wilson, the station was initially very excited about the series. But within a week, Fox executives and their attorneys wanted the reporters to use statements from Monsanto representatives that the reporters knew were false and to make other revisions to the story that were in direct conflict with the facts. Fox editors then tried to force Akre and Wilson to continue to produce the distorted story. When they refused and threatened to report Fox’s actions to the FCC, they were both fired.(Project Censored #12 1997)

Akre and Wilson sued the Fox station and on August 18, 2000, a Florida jury unanimously decided that Akre was wrongfully fired by Fox Television when she refused to broadcast (in the jury’s words) “a false, distorted or slanted story” about the widespread use of BGH in dairy cows. They further maintained that she deserved protection under Florida’s whistle blower law. Akre was awarded a $425,000 settlement. Inexplicably, however, the court decided that Steve Wilson, her partner in the case, was ruled not wronged by the same actions taken by FOX.

FOX appealed the case, and on February 14, 2003 the Florida Second District Court of Appeals unanimously overturned the settlement awarded to Akre. The Court held that Akre’s threat to report the station’s actions to the FCC did not deserve protection under Florida’s whistle blower statute, because Florida’s whistle blower law states that an employer must violate an adopted “law, rule, or regulation.” In a stunningly narrow interpretation of FCC rules, the Florida Appeals court claimed that the FCC policy against falsification of the news does not rise to the level of a “law, rule, or regulation,” it was simply a “policy.” Therefore, it is up to the station whether or not it wants to report honestly. (Anybody surprised this happened in Florida?)

During their appeal, FOX asserted that there are no written rules against distorting news in the media. They argued that, under the First Amendment, broadcasters have the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on public airwaves. Fox attorneys did not dispute Akre’s claim that they pressured her to broadcast a false story, they simply maintained that it was their right to do so.

          • JeffH

Anti Government, OK…and that proves what? That FOX was playing games 14 years ago? Tell us, who doesn’t distort the news? They all do! It’s all about the listener and how they filter the news and if they are willing to do a little research on there own to verify whether they are getting unbiased news or not.

          • eye-n-sty-n

You people remind me of the part in the Steve Martin movie”The Jerk”when his adopted father shows him the difference between S#it and shinola….Its kinda like somebody already showed you the difference but you still need a refresher course.

      • JUKEBOX

I have some beautiful Obama fools gold to sell to you and the dumb masses that think like you.

        • bob wire

Yea? How did you come across it?

          • JUKEBOX

It was mailed to me after Obama passed his stimulus bill with his signature and a note saying LOL.

  • Charles

Strange as it may seem, I have been without my TV for more than a year and a half, and may keep it turned off until I hear that Main Stream Media has come back to the middle.

    • Dagney

Since the Tea Party IS the middle, you will never be watching television again.

The Constitution is the middle between Anarchy and full-on oppression. The Tea Party occupies the middle with conservatives and libertarians because all believe the Constitution should be followed. They just have some interpretation differences. If you say you’re a “moderate” or “somewhere in the middle” between conservatives and progressives, you’re actually saying you are a progressive and don’t believe in the Constitution.

      • eddie47d

Nice song and dance Dagney. The middle isn’t only the Tea Party and their voice. There is plenty of middle ground in print and on TV. The fringes on the left and right get the headlines and pull in the ratings AND the listeners and readers. People rush toward the controversies and who can shock them the most. Then these same people attack the other side and claim victory when it’s all nothing but muddled arrogant nonsense. These extreme viewers aren’t interested in facts but hot headed talking points for their next argument.

        • bob wire

I suppose it’s a nice fuzzy feeling to be had ,think you might be in the middle. But eddie, I just don’t see it!

Like yourself, I feel a if I’m the middle! LOL!

Seems I’m as exposed to the same fallible faults as yourself.

Has anyone ever got a count of Tea party support?

I’m guessing it at 20 million maybe.

That not any “middle” that I could accept, not with 320 million Americans anyway.

But profess such a notion,~ suggest a middle of all that matters! And this view is supported through out all Tea Party rhetoric from the very offset of it’s creation.

          • DaveH
          • bob wire

Thanks for that Dave, but the link really didn’t offer too much.

That out of a 1000, the Tea Party polled more favorable then the GOP is all I could really get out of it, while they throw some % around.

            and that’s no big surprise.

A head count is what is needed. ~ you know? a pair of ears.

I appreciate your efforts, and I mean that.

20 million is a ~ generous projection in my mind.

You would like to know too! I can tell.

      • http://deleted Claire

The Tea Party?? Funded by the Koch Brothers, Dick Armey, etc. They are not middle of the road–they endorse and promote Republicans. All I can say is thank the good Lord some of these candidates did not get elected. And the ones that did get elected I hope will be worthy of the American vote.

    • DaveH

It isn’t going to happen, Charles. As long as there is Big Government, there will be Big Government sycophants spreading their propaganda.

      • James

DaveH, Well said, but I would have said it the other way around. As long as broadcasters support bad government, we’ll have bad government.

        • DaveH

Which came first? The Chicken or the Egg? lol.

          • bob wire

The chicken! unless you can find a egg that can lay an egg.

Can you find an embryo that can produce an embryo other then splitting?

          • DaveH

Actually, Bob, if you believe in evolution, the mutated life form in the egg came first.

      • JUKEBOX

I would rather call them Big Government MYRMIDONS, because sycophants usually get paid well for flattery, while myrmidons follow blindly.

  • Doc Sarvis

I agree with Anthony. The left is making necessary changes but I see none from the right.

    • Robin from Arcadia, IN

Doc… If it ain’t broke, no need to fix it!

    • maggiemoo

Well now, Doc. If the ratings are good, why would a network fire someone who is bringing in the viewers? That wouldn’t really be smart business, would it? On the other hand, if your ratings stink, the smartest thing would be to terminate the least profitable person on your payroll.

      • Bruce D.

I agree maggiemoo. It makes no sense at all to fire someone with high ratings that people enjoy listening to. I wonder how some of these people survive with the thought process they have.

        • eddie47d

Olbermann was also fire for those political donations he made in the last election. MSNBC had rules about that and Keith broke those rules and thus was fired. Maybe FOX and other stations could be more transparent and get rid of their talking heads who annoy. Then if they did that they would all be gone including Ben Crystal.

          • Bruce D.

Eddied a better solution is for you and others that do not like Fox News or their line up is to not watch it. Problem solved! With all the liberal news stations to watch you would think Fox would not be an issue.

          • John

You’re about as dumb as they come.

          • JeffH

Let’s all get get an understanding of the Olberman situation. Olbermann was NOT FIRED! Keith Olbermann, the liberal crusader whose combative style put him increasingly at odds with his network bosses, resigned abruptly from MSNBC Friday. He resigned, he quit! He wasn’t fired for his political contributions either, he was SUSPENDED indefinately without pay and was reinstated a few days later.

          • Stan Smith

Don’t like what ben said Libtard?? Too bad Radical Libtards can’t handle the truth about themselves! So why you P*ssing and moaning about it, Libtards pretty much cornered the Libtard no news media market! Libtards got ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC,CNN, NPR ( should never be funded by tax payers)& Many major Newspapers and Magazine media! While on the Right/Independents Got Only FOX News WOW only one lousy Station, and talk radio, very few Major News paper media, I laugh Libs fear FOX News Radical Libs attacks in packs and run with their tail between their legs!

          • Anti Government

Stan you are drinking the kool-aid if you think the media has a liberal slant. The only one that does is MSNBC and that is a cable channel. The rest are controlled by our corporate over lords. I find it hard to get any liberal news unless close to a major metropolitan area.

          • eddie47d

Bruce D. I’ve watched Fox on occasion and I watch MSNBC on occasion. Can’t say I get enthralled by either but at least I try not to close my mind. Like you seem to be suggesting for your self. We all have our favorite stations but with the dozens out there you can’t reach them all. There’s not a whole lot on TV worth watching but it can’t be all news all the time. I’d rather be playing outside with the grand kids or reading a good magazine and so forth.

          • Stan Smith

@ Anti Government- Too bad libtard The truth hurts eh! Sorry I don’t drink Libtard Kool aid like you do! Yes its all Libtard bias ABC, NBC ect. It’s your Leftist buddies High jacked The Media Hey Libtard you forgot your CNN dimwit reporter showed her Leftist views attacking the Tea Party Yep The Leftist no news media at it’s best brainwashing people down giving the democraps a pass on everything including the debate during the elections!
            Proof of Libtard bias

            http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/29252
Yes even your Libtard media trying to blame Tea party for the AZ shootings.

          • http://deleted Claire

JeffH–Again, thank you for your post. You are correct, Olbermann resigned-quit–he was not fired. The thing that bothers me is: how many OTHER tv hosts contributed to their favorite candidates? I bet Olbermann was not the only one!!

          • Curtis

@Stan Smith… Actually very few people blame the Tea Party for shooting anything. With an average age just slightly younger than coal, we all know that most Tea Party members are too old and too feeble to actually raise a handgun and squeeze a trigger… even with two hands.

    • JUKEBOX

Doc, it doesn’t make good business sense to pay 7mil to someone whose show is rated 28th, behind the Spike channel. Being rated #1 on MSNBC is like being the tallest in a roomful of midgets.

  • Jeepdriver 97

Olbermann, Maddow, Matthews – I used to switch from Fox to MSNBC just so I could fully understand how our congressional liberals could vote for trillion dollar legislation without bothering to read the bills. I’ll miss him. I’m sure it was just personal modesty that kept him from electing himself “Worst Person in the World” every night!

  • Demoncrat Exorcist

The lame-brained media isn’t changing. They are still covering up for the left and distorting the truth. Like Olberman, they support Obama’s take over of the Internet just like they supported Obamacare – both unconstitutional. Who cares where Olberman ends up? He’s already rich, although it’s in the form of money. I never watched him or any of the big networks. The only way to hear to the truth is to listen to Fox.

    • DaveH

You’re right, Demoncrat. The propaganda will continue with the only difference being that they will go back to the more subtle tried and true methods of propaganda.

  • http://aol.com sean murrey

At least we wont hear him rave and rant against conservatives.

  • Don J

I am a news junkie and watch Beck, O’Reilly, Maddow, and (used to) Olbermann on a regular basis. And I often fact-check their sources to see if what they’re saying is correct. In many cases the facts are correct, but where these people differ are in their analysis of those facts and the conclusions they draw. But there also many cases when the truth was distorted, exagerated, and/or simply not told. All have been guilty of this. But in my opinion, the biggest truth teller was actually Olbermann. The worst is Beck, who also gets the babble award for inductive reasoning (I have a cow, my cow is brown, therefore all cows are brown.) I will miss Olbermann a lot.

    • home boy

tell that to the people at espn

    • JKO

Ever researched for yourself Don? Look it up. The opposite of what you say is true. Use this site alone. How many of the stories right here are told elsewhere??? The only other place I hear these same stories is from FOX. The others miss many of these stories.

    • Ted Crawford

Are you kidding me? Olbermanns broadcasts were straight out of Alinskys book! I was always surprized he didn’t offer it for sale. In any case it’s certain that he carries a copy of Rules For Radicals in his back pocket!

      • eddie47d

…..and Glenn Beck probably keeps Mien Kemp in his back pocket since he is overly obsessed with Nazi’s. LOL! There are many paranoid loonies on FOX who exaggerate the “facts” all the time. MSNBC also has a few fire throwers in their arsenal. Actually Olbermann and Beck should not be taken off the air just because of their diatribes. If folks want to listen to their loose talk that’s okay just don’t claim that their “facts” are gospel.

        • eye-n-sty-n

The thing is that Beck is the only one I have ever seen use the words of those that he is speaking about against them.He uses what they say against them, without need to tweak it.He lets you hear,or see in print, what they say,and begs you to draw your own conclusion. When you hear what people are saying instead of someone stating what they think is a fact,it makes a difference. You dont need an
‘ad hominem ‘attack on someone,or to poison the well towards someone, when you hear them say what they say. That is how Beck gets his point across. He uses their own words against them.If Olberman, and those other folks did that, there wouldnt be near as much “fact finding” necessary.Facts can be manu(fact)ured in this day and age depending on who you get the facts from.I can pay someone to do a study and they will find what I paid them to find.Experts agree that they are expert because they are paid to be experts.Studies shpw that studies find what they are paid to find.Dont you people know this?Sources can be real or manufactured but you will soak it up better if it is candy-coated,so believe at your peril.Unless you hear someone or see what they have said in quotations, then you have evidence.

          • JKO

            excellent point.

        • JUKEBOX

I tried to find Mein Kemp on Google, so could you tell me where to find it.

      • Tom from Idaho

Don must have done his fact-checking with the liberal blogs, or maybe Wickipedia (in which anyone can insert information) or Snopes.com (liberally slanted). I have not known Beck to be lieing on ANYTHING. as he carefully researches everything before opening his mouth on the air about an issue.

        • Bruce D.

I agree with you on that Tom. You can’t get any more sincere than Glen Beck. Socialists do not like Beck exposing their ideology and the covert manner in which they are trying to implement it.

          • eddie47d

There is nothing wrong with sincerity but Beck throws in too much fear to get his point across. That’s indoctrination at it’s best. Be afraid,be very afraid!

          • Bruce D.

Like I said Eddie socialist do not like to be exposed nor do they like the manner in which they try to achieve their goals exposed. You are right to fear Glen Beck.

          • JUKEBOX

I agree with both of you, and too many people are too stupid to understand the “BOILING FROG SYNDROME”.

    • Anti Government

Telling truth to power there is always a chance you will meet the axe. I to will miss Keith!

    • Bruce D.

I would say you are progressive liberal Don J with a belief that government will save you from your own incompetence to come up with the conclusion you did.

  • http://aol.com Ricketts

Who was this Keith Obamaman? Never heard of him. Can’t see where I would care if he quit or got canned from a network I could never watch.

    • Norm

      Ricketts
      That’s what I like a well-rounded open mind.
Try pulling your head out of your a*s and maybe you’ll see the world from all perspectives.

      • DaveH

So then, Norm, I take it you watch Fox? How about tuning into John Stossel or Judge Napolitano? Learn something; or is it just too difficult to remove your blinders?

        • Norm

          DaveH
          I do watch Fox.
I have watched Stossel and Napolitano. I watch Hannity and even Beck (rarely). Stossel is not bad. Hannity is very entertaining, but nasty and not all that smart when you really pay attention to him.
I watch MSMBC. I like Mathews but don’t agree with all he has to say. Keith and Rachel are true leftists, but also entertaining and bright.

          • bob wire

me too! I like the Fox chicks! but I also read, whatever my browser highlights as current new. ~ and then research any question of depth I might have.

I’m not overly busy this time of year.

I like hearing both (or all) views on matters of importance.

I don’t expect to be “pleased” with that I hear or feel some requirement to agree.

Not if I need a bad mood to handle some ugly business, Fox works best! Beck in particular!

        • http://deleted Claire

DaveH–I will watch John Stossel before I will watch Fox news.

  • Ted Crawford

Olbermann never had a thought that was founded in anything like reality. He will be missed in the same way as a boil on the backside. Matthews is the best on that channel. Real experience and a somewhat moderate viewpoint. Maddow is the real disappointment there. All that intellect and still overpowered by the leftest extremests. Unfortunatly higher I.Q. doesn’t guarentee commonsense. We might remember that Ted Kaczynski was a PHD!

  • home boy

hip-hip horray bye bye so long fare well

  • 45caliber

I loved a political cartoon about this that I saw yesterday.

It showed an old outhouse with the MSNBC sympol on the door. A voice from the outhouse said, “Goodbye, Keith.”

  • Richard Medlock

Not suprised that the Reactionaries (hardly a republican let) did not like Keith. He was the best on TV however and always told the truth and sought the truth even against Obama many times and certainly against Bush 2, who, in case you haven’t noticed, destroyed our country. Most of the Reactionaries including the new Tea Party are working for the Plutocracy that has destroyed our country but don’t know that and don’t understand that – “Stupidity is not Sustainable”
May you all be blessed with eyes with which you can see.
    Richard,
    A Progressive-Libertarian.

    • Bruce D.

“Stupidity is not sustainable” – Keith Oberman certainly proved that by losing his job. Stupidity has only been sustainable up to this point because governments can borrow or print money. Once people lose confidence in the government printing or borrowing money the pyramid scheme comes tumbling down and the stupidity can no longer be sustained. Maybe that will help you to understand the Tea Party a little better in their demand for fiscal responsibility.

    • DaveH

There is no such thing as a Progressive Libertarian, Richard. You are either for Freedom or you are Not. You can’t mix the two.

      • Bruce D.

I have seen a more than a few progressive liberals claim to be Libertarian as has Bill Maher.

        • DaveH

Yeah, Bruce, I know. They can claim anything they want, but they aren’t Libertarians. I post the link to the party platform on almost every webpage, so surely you know by now what we stand for, and it isn’t spending other peoples’ money.

      • JUKEBOX

That ranks right up there with “GOVERNMENT INTELLIGENCE”, a true oxymoron.

    • ValDM

      Richard,
You can’t be a Progressive and Libertarian; it’s an oxymoron.

      • James

ValDM, it depends on what one is progressing to.

        • bob wire

Well good point James! but having only two boxes to put things in, narrows it down and makes it easy to understand such complex things.

      • DaveH

Those vile creatures are constantly changing their names to reinvent themselves. But the truth is that they are still the same freedom takers, call them Liberals, Progressives, or whatever they come up with next.
A 19th century Liberal was a whole different animal than the people who today call themselves Liberal. So, it doesn’t surprise me a bit to see them trying to steal the term Libertarian. But they are far away from Libertarians. Read this please:
        http://www.ncpa.org/pdfs/whatisclassicalliberalism.pdf

    • JKO

FYI Beck was against Bush years ago. Even Hannity spoke against Bush when he was wrong. I hear very little about Obama’s wrong doing on the other side.

      • bob wire

Hmm? The Tea party crowd seems to have that covered and I can’t tell that they need the help!

If they might back off, you’d hear more dnc protect.

Tell me, Do you folk really enjoy being referred too as TEA PARTY people?

Protesting “low taxation and undesirable representation”?

Hmm? just wondering aloud. i wonder how many card carrying Libertarians are in the TEA Party ranks?

  • Norm

Keith Olberman has around two years left on his contract, and he’ll be paid his salary — around $7 million a year.
We don’t know if Comcast (MSMBC) will let Keith make a deal with another network as part of an exit agreement, but it’s a good bet he’ll be benched for a minimum of 6 months, and probably longer.
Most people would love to be “fired” with a deal like that.
I always liked Keith, but didn’t always agree with his point of view. He was much smarter than Rush or Sean, but like them he did tend to put a one sided, often distorted and false bias, into his commentaries.
Former congressman Lawrence ODonnel is his replacement and is much more objective, although liberal, in his views.

  • Harold Olsen

Al Jazeera may have been a cheap shot but it just may have been on target. I would not be surprised if they did hire him and I think he’d jump at the chance. He’d be free to spew his America hating vitriol with no restrictions whatsoever.

    • eddie47d

Maybe he could take Breitbart with him and Breit could play his tainted videos. Actually Breit would be better suited for Russia where the old commies always doctored up their history.

  • ONTIME

Whenever I see that image of Olberman looking thoughtful I always wonder why he isn’t wearing his black SS strurmenfuher uniform…

  • jimster

I hear there is a job opening at the white house how about press secratery? I am sure Obama could find a job for him somewhere else if that doesn’t work out.

    • JUKEBOX

He is too fluent to take Gibb’s place, because if you take all of Gibb’s uhs & ahs & hesitations out of a 15 minute news conference, you would have maybe one minute of content.

  • http://larryandmiki@sbcglobal.net Larry Carter

His departure was all forseen when it was announced that this cable TV company(MSNBC) was bought buy Comcast a capitalistic for profit corporation. Long live capitalisum. Ratings do have consequences.

    • Kinetic1

      Larry,
Your opinion would make sense if Comcast were looking to loose money. Olberman had the top rated show on MSNBC, so loosing him would not be a wise capitalistic move.

      • JeffH

Kinetic1, I heard a good analogy about Olbermann being the top dog at MSNBC. It’s like being the “tallest” midget in a room full of midgets.

        • Warrior

          HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!! Funny sh$$$$t.

      • JUKEBOX

Being the tallest in a roomful of midgets is not a good recommendation.

    • Norm

      Larry Carter
They kept Maddow who is at least as leftist as Olberman. They also have Mathews and now ODonnel.

      • Conservatives United

Has’nt Mathews flooded the place everytime he TINKLES DOWN HIS LEG???

      • bob wire

Yea, Our little “lickyedsplit” is as left as it gets without going bright Red.

I like her! and she will only do better with the big boy gone~ I hope!

She’s is extremely bright ! but so much of it is academic, she’s got some serious growing to do.

I’d enjoy seeing her go one on one with any of the Fox teams brightest.

        • JUKEBOX

How about a steel cage match with Ann Coulter?

          • bob wire

Yyyyeaaaa! I like it! That should bring politics up to a higher level!

          • http://deleted Claire

Coulter? I wouldn’t even want to be in the same room with her. Now you can all scream I am a Liberal! I never could stand Coulter.

  • Kinetic1

How funny that Ben, a man whose jealousy towards Olberman and his fellows shone like a beacon through each of his “humorous” articles, should choose to offer carrier advice. Ben, once you have an audience to compare with Keith’s, then we can talk.

    • http://www.personalliberty.com/author/ben-crystal/ Ben Crystal (With some love for my fan(s))

Well, “Kinetic,” I DO have YOU. It’s all downhill from here, my devoted reader!

      • libertytrain

        Touche

    • JeffH

“How funny that Ben, a man whose jealousy towards Olberman and his fellows”

Are you serious? LMAO. I see the humor, but jealousy? Kinetic1, I thought you could do better than that but you chose to leave the door “wide open” instead.

    • DaveH

Let’s see, Olbermann had about a million viewers in the 2nd quarter of 2010. There are about 60,000,000 people who admit to being Liberals. So he got about 2% of them in his audience. Big Whoop:
      http://www.businessinsider.com/quarterly-ratings-keith-olbermann-is-slipping-in-the-key-25-54-age-demographic-2010-6

His viewership, by the way, is 1/3 that of Bill O’Reilly’s viewership.

      • Norm

        DaveH
He still made 7 million $ per year.
You’ve got to love free enterprise.

        • DaveH

I have no problem with that. Do you, Norm? Unless of course he earned it illegally.

    • JUKEBOX

How’s this for comparison? O’reilly has more viewers than Olberman, Matthews, Schultz, Maddow & O’donnell combined. Your wonder boy was rated 28th on cable, behind Spike. Need I say more? Facts is facts.

    • JUKEBOX

Does “CARRIER ADVICE” have any thing to do with truck drivers?

  • The Munz

Olbermann was just an irritating man who had no problem lying through his teeth. As he claimed to have the greatest ratings and be the truth and voice of the people. Meanwhile his ratings were actually beat by 12 FOX news shows including daytime television.
Worst person in the world? A conservative who didn’t agree with him can be compared to mass murders?
he was loud, obnoxious and to be quite honest the only appeal he had was for some people who disagreed with the conservatives. he spewed venom that was pent up hostility for them. It was like a release of their anger through someone else’s mouth.

I can see where people need to have that anger / frustration voiced and get it out of their system. But the man was taken at face as a journalist. Whet he really was as it turns out was nothing but a hate monger who had a political agenda.

We need news casters to watch the government for us, to report accurately without bias. Most if not all MSM agencies are failing miserably. But that does not give Olbermann the right to do so either.

The man had no integrity when the country needed him the most.

Take note – we need REAL reporting. Our country is in a crisis of a magnitude not seen since it’s inception. It is time to stop the bickering, watch the politicians, the global politics and report them accurately so we all know what is happening.

Maybe he should be homeless and wandering around Central Park, or wherever. He would get a taste of what his liberal socialist marxist BS, that he has been spewing really does.

GOOD RIDDANCE KEITH!!!! WE SURE WILL NOT MISS YOU!!!!! THAT SAID I NEVER WATCHED HIM OR THE RANTING ON MSNBC.

    • bob wire

You dislike for Keith suggest you are not impartial to him and what he’s defended.

If you had like him, the DNC would have a serious problem.

      would they not?

He’ll be back at some level ~ and be even more effective.

      Scary thought! No?

Whenever I watch MSNBC for more than five minutes, I have to have my gun locked away in my safe, to keep from going ELVIS on my TV. I can’t afford that, what with my Social Security cuts for the last three years.

Maybe he could be Jeffrey Immelt’s butler or personal valet. They both work for GE. Immelt may not pay 7 figures for a butler, though. I don’t know how Immelt hangs onto his job, however. He has taken a once respected and highly successful company to huge losses for its stockholders, of which I am one. The Board of Directors for GE are and have been asleep on this one!

    • Donald

Walsh was the guy who killed the company!

    • JeffH

The Board of Directors for GE are in bed with the “Global Government” idealists. GE is a powerfull entity in the world, pushing for “Cap & Trade”, Climate Change legislation to boost their profits even higher and have a powerful presence within our government. Didn’t GE Financial get $140 billion or so from TARP? Just another “wolf in sheeps clothing” like Goldman Sachs, they ain’t your friend.

      Just more CORRUPTION.
Unlike other major lenders participating in the debt guarantee program, including Bank of America, Citigroup and J.P. Morgan Chase, GE has never been subject to the Fed’s stress tests or its rules for limiting risk. Also unlike firms that have received bailout money in the Troubled Assets Relief Program, or TARP, GE is not subject to restrictions such as limits on executive compensation.

Could be that GE, which owns NBC and MSNBC who shamelessly repeats what it’s told by the administration, is getting a reward for its good behavior.

        JeffH–Didn’t Comcast buy NBC?

        • JeffH

Claire, I do believe you are correct on that.

          • http://deleted Claire

JeffH–I need to ask you something–I have been hearing that Supreme Court Justice Scalia, some Republicans and the Koch Brothers have been meeting secretly plus the U.S. Chamber of Commerce–do you know what they are up to?

          • JeffH

Claire, what I’ve heard is that Members of the Tea Party Caucus led by Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., along with other House members, received a master class on the Constitution from Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia Monday evening.

Scalia, a 24-year veteran of the nation’s highest court, was invited to give a lecture followed by a question and answer session to members and staff on relations between the three coequal branches of government. The discussion took place at the Capitol and was closed to the press.

One Democrat present said Scalia laid out a very thought provoking presentation on the separation of powers. “There is a high level discussion going on in there,” noted Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., though she admitted that at times it was “a bit dry.”
Scalia provided some reading recommendations for the members, “He said we should all get a copy of the Federalist Papers and read it, underline it, dog-ear it,” Schakowsky said.

Critics accused Scalia of betraying a partisan tilt by appearing at an event hosted by the Republican Tea Party Caucus, but according to Bachmann, there were at least 3 Democratic members on hand, as well as a large number of majority and minority staff in attendance.

Bachmann felt that the topic brought all parties together. “The Constitution is not a partisan document,” she said, “it is an American document.”

It’s my understanding that he is going to suggest that all of the Supreme Court Justices read and re-acquaint themselves with the Federalist Papers also.

As for the Koch Brothers, a BIG NO!

          • http://deleted Claire

JeffH– Regarding the Chamber of Commerce, I have about as much respect for them as I do the Fed. Which is zilch.

          • JeffH

I normally don’t say anything if I can’t say something good about someone. In Olbermann’s case I have to speak up, because “he did it to himself.” Ben Crystal helped me with the words “nerdy sneer” and “smug.” I had to force myself to get through an entire Olbermann smugfest, and I only did it once; I tried several times before succeeding. Olbermann’s attitude was unbearable for me. He could not utter a single word without the attitude showing.

Don’t think I’m one-sided – I lump Olbermann in with Pat Robertson and most other holier-than-thou broadcasters. It’s all about attitude. No more sneering, please.

    • bob wire

well you are correct with the nerdy thing Mac.

But Pat Robertson? gee man, that was a low blow!

Hey Jeremy,Since you call yourself a Liberal, you must also think of yourself as a Democrat. You probley voted for Obama for President and some of the loosers this past Nov. I hate to break your bubble,Your very Liberal, Sec. of State (Hillery Clinton) said on TV in front of millons of people, Don`t call me a Liberal, call me a Progressive,so you see Jeremy, somehow things kind of passed you by.Don`t feel bad, a
lot of people who thought they were Democrats or Independents, also missed out who and what they were voting for.Jeremy, the Democratic
party is all but gone.Oh, they will still try to call themselves
Democrats, just to keep you hanging around. There is really only about
45 true Democrats left and your President Obama ain`t one of them.
Jeremy, let me be one of the first to welcome you to the New Progressive Party, Don`t bother to try and contact one of the 45 DEMS
LEFT,they are scared to death and are in hidding.

    • Jeremy Leochner

Actually no Charles. Im a member of the independent Peace and Freedom Party. Im not a democrat, though your right I voted for Obama but that was only because I thought he was a better candidate than John McCain. Personally I see progressive and liberal as somewhat interchangeable. Im not ashamed to call myself a liberal. Sounds good “liberal”, has a liberty kinda sound to it. Conservativism is kinda appealing to “conservative” to conserve-thats always a good thing. But for me I just prefer liberalism. I agree with it more than conservativism on most issues. So I would be glad to support the new progressive party whatever its called. But as for personal beliefs and ideology I still call myself a Liberal.

      • JUKEBOX

Jeremy believes in spreading the wealth around to Obama and the other millionaires in Congress.

        • Jeremy Leochner

Actually no Jukebox. I want to monitor our politicians to be carful of what they spend what on. I just believe in using tax dollars collected from everyone to help fund the armed forces, social security, medicare, medicaid, educational programs. Basically our countries inferstructure and I wish to use our countries tax money to help the poor within our country. I have no desire to spread wealth or anything of that sort. Certainly not to millionaires. I want if anything to use it to help those without, not those with.

        • bob wire

Jeremy, Jukebox and many others seem to think the spreading of wealth is a new concept ~ and that perhaps it’s too dangerous to consider for everyone.

We should conserve! Make it and bury it! save it! ~ If you can’t win, see that no one else can either and the score is kept the same.

You can’t work and dig out, the system in place won’t allow it. If do manage to win, they place a heavier load on you to slow you down.

Conservative is to maintain a Status Quo. Those who have worked (or what ever) to get where they are, want to stay there. Which is most understandable. But when they are quick to judge anything or anyone as a potential threat to their position, they place obstacles in your path, this too is an act conservatism.

They see themselves as being above you and have plans to keep it that way. ~ with what ever means that is at their disposal.

They don’t mind their own business, ~ they feel it’s necessary to mind your. For after all, what you do might affect them! You don’t have to make that decision, they will make it for you. Just another little habit of a conservative.

They are a very interesting bunch of folks, ~ the older people get the more conservative they tend to become. They have more time on their hands to mind your business and worry about their position. ~ They feel that they are under constant attack from all sides. ~ and you are NOT! funny stuff!

The center of the universe, seems to starts with self, and it is only from “this” perspective that the world can be viewed and understood.

it’s humorous trait to behold, and roots in self-preservation and matters of “self” in general.

  • L.L.G.

One must remember, Olbermann is a casualty of the Socialist/Progressive agenda. Just one more that met the front line under-the-bus scenario. The Progressive agenda is to sacrifice oneself for the greater good. The one thing Olbermann forgot was his rhetoric so strong that rating plummeted to the bottom of the Pit of Doom. Front-of-the-bus placement means you must have the intelligence to remove yourself to the side so you don’t go under. I surmise, Olbermann forgot to move or it was a kamikaze move.

  • http://charden@neo.rr.com Charles

No one in their right mind are going to watch CNN,NBC,MSNBC or any

      • JeffH

…again Anti-G, what is this 14 year old story supposed to proove?

I happen to know someone who worked with Olbie when he worked at KCBS/2 in Los Angeles. He was the meanest talent on air, so he burned his bridges with CBS. Even Dan Rather had more character than the Ogermann.

  • Bob from Calif

I for one will not miss Olbermann. Not that I watched him anyway. For all you Liberals that are supporting the Statists and their views, you need to remember that God is watching and keeping records. It’s called the book of life. He will open it when you stand before him, to show you why without a doubt that you deserve the punishment that you will receive. There is only one way out. Accept his son (Jesus) and the sacrifice that he made for you and the entire world. Otherwise I hope you have your fire insurance paid up. I say this because, the views of most liberals now are not in line with what the Bible teaches. Even if you do not believe in God he believes in you. I personally know two people that were clinically dead and came back. They say that heaven is real. Don’t tell me that it is all a chemical reaction in the brain. There is a whole lot of research that says otherwise, if you are willing to objectively seek it out.

    • Anti Government

So Bob, is it your premise that only conservatives go to heaven? This doesn’t sound to Christian to me. I don’t remember any bible stories that say “blessed are the conservatives for they will inherit the kingdom of god”. In fact when it is said this way it sounds kind of bad. I would be careful of calling people from either side for being on Gods side.

      • JeffH

Anti Government, I don’t see that Bob said anywhere in his comment that he is a conservative! Are you just “assuming” Bob is a conservative? You guys sure like to put words in people’s mouths don’t you. He did indicate through his comment that he believes in God. As for whether it sounds bad or not, I didn’t think so…but that is just my opinion and you are surely entitled to your opinion.

        • Anti Government

          JeffH,
I stand corrected it is just the liberals that will go to hell. You are right to point out that Bob said nothing about conservatives going to heaven just liberals burning in hell. I don’t know why I would assume Bob is a conservative.

          • JeffH

Anti-G, you’ve missed the boat again. Bob did not say “all liberals” his reference was made to “most liberals”. What he said was and I quote: “I say this because, the views of “most liberals” now are not in line with what the Bible teaches.

          • JUKEBOX

Snap out of it Ben. Out of one side of your mouths you claim the media is too liberal but then every time we actually get a left leaning liberal that can actually draw a crowd, make some sense and rattle some cages, the corporate machine kicks in and gets rid of them. First it was the highly profitable Donohue and now the highly profitable Olberman. Corporate controlled conservative mainstream media is so scared of progressive ideas actually getting some traction that they always get rid of them even when they are the main attraction. And then the crowd that supposedly wants freedom and liberty and free speech stands with the corporate propagandists. You are all a bunch of hypocrite chickens. You want to remain ignorant keep watching only Fox.

    • JeffH

…and speaking of chickens and especially propaganda…another exciting episode of “Eric Bischoff rides again”.

Today’s episode has Eric Bischoff, the hero, defending the lowly “Sheep Herds” of the “not so popular” Keith Olbermann, fighting the mighty “MSNSC corporation”, another arm of the vast leftist propaganda machine supporting Big Government.

Time for a word from our sponsors…stick around to see what happens next???

We pledged from the day the deal was announced that we would not interfere with NBC Universal’s news operations. We have not and we will not.” Sena Fitzmaurice, Comcast spokesperson.

Olberman was an amazing work horse. You may not like his politics but if you can’t recognize what a powerful force he was and what he accomplished, then you are clueless. He is not done.

Instead of floating over his being axed, you should be worried about the Comcast monopoly and how it will affect internet access, free speech and content.

Eric Bischoff , I understand your feelings. ~ He served all Americans well.

The pressure he exerted along with Maddow forced Fox to change, improve their programming and offer less spin, realizing they could no longer say just anything without being “called out”.

      • Eric Bischoff

Too bad you have your facts wrong.

Rupert Murdocks empire which includes Fox is the most watched with the highest ratings. Therefore it is MAINSTREAM MEDIA. It is ironic that they loudly proclaim themselves to be fair and balanced when in reality their only purpose is to be the bull horn, mouthpiece of the Conservative right Republicans and now the Tea Party.

Because Americans have let themselves be sucked in by their massive propaganda machine, they are now the least knowledgeable in the western world on issues of politics, science, sociology, education and health. Fox only promotes one view point, lower taxes, deregulation and pro wall st & big business and anti labor. And in case you’ve forgotten who you are, labor is the middle class. It is us. They are like a broken record without one original thought. They are incapable of and obviously have no interest in doing investigative reporting. They are a propaganda machine and yes Goebel would be proud.

All the other alphabet networks are just slightly left of Fox which makes them at best centrist.

Most of you have never been exposed to the real left progressive media which has been relegated to the non-profit Free Speech TV, Link TV, and the Pacifica Foundation radio stations. They are the ones who break stories years ahead of all others. And in usual fashion at first they are ridiculed and eventually they are accepted as gospel.

I can speak this way because unlike most of you I am not afraid of watching all of them so that I can get a full spectrum.

        • bob wire

“Rupert Murdocks empire which includes Fox is the most watched with the highest ratings. ”

Keith Olbermann always had one thing missing – his SS uniform.
    Same goes for Chris Matthews.

Since when, is sneering ‘proof’ for a stance on freedom ?
Both Olbermann & Matthews use sneer methods to get their points across.

ALL Liberals .. use sneers to defend their positions. It’s NOT righteous.

Righteousness sells itself … it doesn’t require sneers….

FOX NEWS does have (or did) Juan Williams and Mara Liason. DOH.

I am not impressed with any of them.

    • JUKEBOX

The only honest thing Keith did was when he threw his copy away at the end of his show, since most of it was trash anyway.

      • bob wire

Keith was a large contributor and huge supporter of the roaming health care centers that did much good work for the working poor and simply poor, down and out all over the nation.

I tied of his crass, in your face approach to political commentary myself.

But I was never my job to love him.

If you will notice, no one is accusing him of ever being a liar.

Not one comment have I read.

        • http://deleted Claire

bob wire–you are correct. Olbermann did contribute a lot towards the roaming health care centers. I give him credit for that. However, Olbermann was left wing, and Fox people are right wing. Same type of people, different parties. Different strokes for different folks.

    • bob wire

Right! and Fox excels in self righteousness !

Mr jerkme maybe uou and Mr obermad both could get a job in the white house just pile in with the bunch of perverts already there.maybe they will start a circle jerk and let you be piviot man.

    • Jeremy Leochner

I apologize Ridge Runner. I never meant to seem insulting. I dont condone Mr. Olbermanns attitude because I dont completly agree with it. However is it wrong for me to be offended when someone suggests liberals are morally inferior. If im a liberal don’t I have the right to say something. I have no desire to be anyones piviot man. And I certainly recognize the corruption in our government. I just have my views and I wish to express them. I apologize if that offends you. It was never my intent.
