The FDA Wants To Trample Your Garden

November 24, 2010 by

The FDA Wants To Trample Your Garden

If you haven’t heard of the draconian food control bill, aka S 510: the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, which is currently under consideration in the United States Senate, you need to learn about it now. If passed, it will give the Food and Drug Administration the power to regulate all food, from personal gardens to produce stands to farmer’s markets.

The bill will be considered again Nov. 29. Right now it’s held up by amendments Senators are attempting to attach to the bill. One would strip the IRS Form 1099 requirement from the Obamacare bill. Another, the Tester-Hagan Amendment, would exempt small farmers from some of the requirements of the bill, but it still doesn’t fix the bill’s problems.

What does the bill do? Among other things, it “Amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) to expand the authority of the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to inspect records related to food, including to: (1) allow the inspection of records of food that the Secretary reasonably believes is likely to be affected in a similar manner as an adulterated food; and (2) require that each person (excluding farms and restaurants) who manufactures, processes, packs, distributes, receives, holds, or imports an article of food permit inspection of his or her records if the Secretary believes that there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to such food will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”

It also “Requires each owner, operator, or agent in charge of a food facility to: (1) evaluate the hazards that could affect food; (2) identify and implement preventive controls; (3) monitor the performance of those controls; and (4) maintain records of such monitoring. Deems facilities required to comply with certain food-specific standards to be in compliance with this section. Requires the Secretary to promulgate regulations to establish science-based minimum standards for conducting a hazard analysis, documenting hazards, implementing preventive controls, and documenting such implementation. Prohibits the operation of a facility that manufactures, processes, packs, or holds food for sale in the United States if the owner, operator, or agent in charge of such facility is not in compliance with this section.

If one reads the language, on its face it would seem a good idea for the FDA to “get control” of food production in the country. The problem is the FDA’s history with this. While the bill would seem to apply to large farms and food production facilities, there is no language exempting even personal gardens or roadside produce stands. Because they aren’t exempt, they can be bound by the same requirements.

Small farmers, too, will be forced to comply with the new reporting regulations. This will swamp them in paperwork and force them out of business.

Then there is the FDA’s history to consider. The FDA has always worked for the best interests of large corporations — Big Pharma and Big Farms — rather than the best interests of the consumer — or the small food producer. And the large corporations like ADM (formerly Archer Daniels Midland Co.) and Monsanto want nothing more than to crush the small farmer.

As Mike Adams the Health Ranger to points out on his website, the FDA’s record of “protecting” consumers is shoddy at best. It has gone out of its way to ignore critical evidence about dangerous drugs to the benefit of Big Pharma. It censors the scientific truth about natural remedies and nutritional supplements and has killed more people than the CIA, FBI, ATF and DEA combined.

Through this bill the FDA, which has already criminalized raw milk, could outlaw all vegetables unless they are irradiated, could outlaw raw food unless it’s pasteurized and could criminalize the very act of canning your own fruits and vegetables. It’s not a stretch to think that an organization that has already criminalized drinking natural raw milk could criminalize anything it chose. And this bill gives it that authority.

Never mind that food-borne illnesses always stem from FDA-inspected large food producers rather than small farms and produce stands; the FDA wants to come gunning for your garden, your local supplier and the small business/farmer.

Seventy-four Senators voted to move the bill from committee to the floor for a vote, so its passage on Nov. 29 is almost assured. The only way to stop it is for you to call your Senator and tell him or her to vote no on S 510. You can reach your Senator by going here.

The only thing I gotta say about someone coming on my property, and demanding Paperwork concerning MY GARDEN, WHICH I PLANT, WHICH I USE TO FEED MYSELF, MY HUSBAND & KIDS AND GRANDKIDS__

___My representative will be contacted TODAY as a matter of fact, in regards to this ABOSOLUTE OUTRAGE!!_

    • Al Sieber

Angel, same here, they have to come through my front gate first, my garden is 800′ from there on top of a small mountain next to my cabin, and this is 2- miles down a bad dirt road. but they still fly over so it’s hard to hide a garden, nobody’s taking my food, “they can have my tomatoes when they pry them from my cold dead hands”.

      • Jana

We have a ranch way out in the country. I was shocked when I went to google maps, then on the upper right hand side click on satellite. It showed in pretty good detail what we have on our property. And you can get it bigger and bigger so you can see way too much.
I am getting in touch with my congressmen.

        • Kate8

Thank God for this article! I’ve been writing and faxing my Congresspeople for months about this, and especially recently, almost daily. The democrat Senators aren’t listeneing, but my Republican Congressman, Tom McClintock, has been opposing this.

The whole purpose is to take from us all access to the nutrition we need to be healthy. They want us sick and dying, folks, and will do anything to accomplish this. If they can’t outlaw healthy food and medicines outright, they will make it so expensive and onerous to have them that we will just be squeezed out.

Who ever thought that we’d have garden police knocking on our doors. I hope we can stop this, but it is part of a greater agenda, the same as Obamacare, and they don’t really care what we think.

          • Vicki

They may not care what we think but we can warn them that we ARE thinking.

          • Average Joe Patriot

Yes, Kate, and this is the part most people consider too horrible to consider or confront. They have an “agenda” and it does not bode well for most of us. That agenda is first populace control, then population control. Controlling us through drugs, fear, dumbing down, malnutrition, and draconian laws makes us more responsive and less resistive when the overt culling time comes.

The FDA is doing what its name says, administering drugs and what they laughingly call “food,” much of which nowadays would have been unrecognizable to our great grandparents. These bizarre substances have the combined effect of reducing our resistance (both external and internal), so that that when killing time comes, there will (a) be fewer of us to deal with, (b) be fewer of us who realize what is going on, (c) be even fewer of us with the strength to resist when ordered to line up for our vaccinations.

Naysayers will say: “Preposterous! Why would so many people in a position of authority go along with this? Their own families would be at risk! That would be psychopathic!”

Well, first off, by their actions over the years, people in a position of authority in this and most other countries have already proven themselves psychopathic. Use of nuclear weapons in testing and in war, chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction, depleted uranium, these are psychopathic behavior. Nazi death camps and the fire bombing of Dresden were psychopathic. The approval of such incredibly toxic food and water additives as aluminum, aspartame and fluoride are patently insane. Replacing the world’s food supply with GMO is clearly a dangerous madness. Chemtrails and Corexit and the destruction of the world’s monetary systems with massive debt and fiat notes is crazy. But They still keep doing all these things, and we’re supposed to believe that what the world’s population suffers as a result of all this is mere “collateral damage.”

So then the argument goes: “Yes, but why would so many people in authority want to do this? For money? But then why kill off all the workers? Who will pay taxes and buy their goods?”

Don’t kid yourself. How valuable do you think Monopoly money is to Parker Bros. (the folks who manufacture and distribute the game)? The apparent pursuit of money is a red herring, a distraction from what Their real objective is. Money is to Them merely a tool (as are political systems), ultimate and total Power is the objective.

Next we hear: “Oh, yeah? Then who do They think would grow Their food and mow Their lawns and make Their clothes and so forth? Hmm?”

Answer: They know They don’t need but a fraction of the world’s current population to provide for Them. What those at the highest levels believe is that the current world population is a serious threat to the world’s long term survival (i.e., Theirs), and needs culling. They are merely the self-chosen Deciders as to who goes and who stays. And now that we are sufficiently dumbed down, sickened (and sickeningly obese) as to appear unsavory even to one another, They feel quite comfortable treating us as a you would a sheep overgrowth on your ranch. Certainly you would retain some for shearing and carefully controlled breeding, but the rest must be slaughtered, starting with the old, the obese and infirm, working your way down through the rebellious and wiley, the lean and hungry, till you have a nice manageable flock of obedient slaves, selected and trained for extremely narrow functions.

Does this sound like science fiction? Once upon a time Verne, Orwell, Huxley, Ayn Rand, and Robert Heinlein were considered science fiction. Now in the first world countries we have nuclear submarines, star wars, forced sterilizations, chemical warfare, cloning, thought police (watching blogs like these as well as our private communications), X-ray scanning of our homes, vehicles, and bodies, and mind control through mood altering drugs and the state (corporatocracy) controlled mainstream media.

That’s the “agenda,” Kate, and having read many of your posts I realize I’m preaching to the choir, so this post is really for some of you others out their who still don’t get it. Including the many useful fools in various administrative and political positions who think you and your families will be exempt when the killing starts.

That is to say, you who don’t understand that you’re as replaceable as Q-Tips. What some of us DO get is that the PTB quite seriously consider themselves a breed apart–themselves as humans, the rest of us as sub-human. Should you find that hard to wrap your mind around, study up on the history of slavery, not just black slavery in the US, but the world (the world “slave” comes from “Slavic,” eastern Europeans enslaved in the Middle Ages). You’ll find this notion of human vs. sub-human a fairly common thread on every continent throughout history.

The Food Safety Act, Codex Alimentarius, new regulations from the FDA, the FTC, the EPA, BATF, DEA and all the rest are merely an ongoing indication of the direction They intend for us. We can combat them tooth and nail (and we should), but in the long run, as they keep coming back relentlessly with more of these apparently insane controls, they intend to wear us down till we finally realize resistance is futile.

As cruel as it sounds, I begin to think that the best thing that could happen for the survival of our species would be a great leveler: A massive EMP from the Sun (our original god), shutting down every electronic device on the planet, putting us all back into a hunter-gatherer, early-agrarian age. It wouldn’t be pretty, think of it as a culling we could all believe in.

And at least we’d all be starting over on an equal footing. (You’ve got to admit, it would be fun to see the golden parachute boys at Goldman-Sachs and the Fed eating bugs and hunting rats with a bow and arrow.)

You Betch-Um Kate8, Round up all them ther Injuns and put them on the Reservation, kill the Buffalo, and all their wild game, burn their crops, them ther savages need to be civilized and christianized or killed.
You all need to get off your TRANSFORMED arses and fight for all that you say you believe in. Or are you out-numbered?

          • Kate8

AJP – You nailed it pretty well.

Massive solar flares seem to be an actual scenario for knowcking out the grid. Without the grid and the high-tech weaponry, the elites would have a hard time controlling us.

It is prophesied that most of the Earth’s population will perish. However, a lifetime is hardly a blip on the screen of time (if time existed at all) and life never ends. The good news is that the NWO will fail this time, as it has every other time, and the whole human experience will begin again.

Scripture describes this time as a great winepress, labor pains, and the great harvesting of souls. Our best hope is to discover who we are at our core, realize that what we see in the outer world is but a reflection of our collective inner world, and resolve to do better from here on out.

These are the times that try men’s souls. Because men’s souls are in need of trying. Man is so stubborn and so arrogant that he thinks he can overthrow God’s Laws without consequence. Sigh.

          • Kate8

That sould have read, “Solar flares appear to be an actual possible scenario for knocking out the grid”.

Fingers have minds of their own.

A famine deliberately engineered by the regime of Josef Stalin 70 years ago claimed millions of lives, mostly in Ukraine but also in some other parts of the Soviet Union. It is today considered one of the worst atrocities of the Soviet regime and a terrifying act of genocide. Even so, the famine of 1933 is relatively unknown. RFE/RL correspondent Askold Krushelnycky examines the reasons behind this and reports on a campaign to draw attention to the atrocity.

Government has no business in the food business..or any other business. None!

          • Belcara

Isn’t it obvious to all of us by now? They plan on killing us all off, taking what we have, controlling the middle generations (the ones they allow to live, and replace the entire American citizenry with third world immigrants, illegals….

Here’s the plan starting with Planned Parenthood (hardly that), next the death panels to rid the government of the elderly (baby boomers) and disallowing states to protect their borders.

What a thought!Just makes you want to cry, cry, cry…. What are we doing?

Did you read the latest on killing off the baby boomers? The old death panel is raising its ugly head again… The congress just can’t leave it alone… After all, ENCOURAGING VOLUNTEER DEATH PLANS DUE TO WITHHELD LIFESAVING MEDICAL CARE ALONG WITH HEAVY TAXATION would save the government money.

This “new American People” have never been used to higher wages, or sold to (yippee, let’s sell more toasters, refrigerators, household goods to the new folks!,,, the new American folks that count,,, get rid of those stodgy old conservative, moralistic, CONSTITUTIONAL Americans! I think our government means to purposely get rid of the middle class Americans by making them weak and vulnerable, then go for the kill! We are about to be replaced.

Generationally speaking, imagine what the demographics will look like in 10 years, 20 years…. if we live so long we won’t even recognize this country… nor will our children believe that it was ever a good, decent, humane, honorable (a credit to mankind).

This country will still need a population for future taxation and commerce. Countries need people. The strange thing about all this is that our government seems to want to kill off the “old” and the “unborn,” and replace the citizenry with illegals, immigrants and others encourage to come here where they will not be taxed. They can get grants to go to school….

Middle class Americans are going to be used to foot the bill for our own demise and our future generation demise…. every single generation of white Christians, and black Christians are being methodically wiped off the face of this earth.
Christian blacks are being aborted at 1500 babies a day!!!!!
I believe the “death panels” begin this year…

        • Average Joe Patriot

Kate8: Yeah, I know about tricky fingers, typing “their” when you meant “there” or “they’re,” and “world” where you meant “word.” And so forth. Not to worry, we get you.

WIA: I may not like your style, but am completely in tune with your message. What’s that stand for, again? Winning In Action, or some such? Well spoken, and funny (love the sardonic delivery, keep it coming).

    • Leila

I agree with you 100% and more, government is sticking their noses where they don’t belong. They are getting more “Stupid” every day.

        Stupid like a fox.

      • James

Leila, You’re a dreamer, they are getting more diabolical.

There it is..another issue which is picked out of the air, hyped with lies and extremist alarms, and set out for the robots to consume and grow hate, anger and thoughtless support to their maters who are ‘protecting’ them.

Jeesh…FYI, the government already has the power to regulate this. Read the case of Wickard v. Filburn, 317 U.S. 111 (1942). If the government wanted to, under the ICC, it could regulate the home gardener growing tomatoes for his own use, as it would affect Interstate Commerce if he did not buy tomatoes on the market.

So…if one takes it to the extreme, what alarms this author is sending isn’t new and only from this bill. IT ALWAYS WAS WITHIN THE POWER of the government.

Just another example of trying to focus attention away from the facts and truth and onto worthless subjects. You should wonder…if the author and your programmers are trying to get your attention onto this…what is it they don’t want you to focus on? Perhaps the fact that the GOP is already busy selling you out to the financiers (foreign and domestic) of their recent election costs ?

      • Vicki

And your solution is vote Democrat? We saw how well that worked in the last 2 years.

        • HFlashman

Darn rights! Look at the past 2 years ! Brought us back from the brink and moving forward ! Anyone who says differently is blind to the reality of the situation of where we were versus where we are today. And this is despite the party of No refusing to put forth any alternatives to policies other than return us to the brink of disaster and pushing us over the edge …

          • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

HFlushedout-man. How will you portect your garden of Utopia evil? Now be polite and go (offensive word removed) yourself in your garden of Democrapola.

          • janko

If you think the last two years have been good in ANY way, you are as blind and ignorant and unwise as your leader. It is not worth even discussing things with people that cannot see how destructive Obama and his handlers have been and will be if they are not stopped cold.

          • Bruce D.

You have really bought into the lefts sewer ideology haven’t you?

          • Bleh

HFlashman, newsflash, you can not spend your way out of debt and debt is the problem. We now await the bailout bubble to burst and when it does, as we presently are seeing unfold slowly in Europe, there is no recovery.
The losers in charge are doing the exact opposite of what should be done while the Propaganda Networks, that pass for media in this country, ensure people like you are oblivious. You can not have more of the same and expect the outcome to be different.
The dollar will be worthless, why? Because presently its about 96% less its true value and they just cranked the bilge pump wide open in 08 and will do so again before 2012. That much currency injected into the system will destroy it, its just a matter of time.
Then presto, Great Depression 2 with no industry to pull us back from oblivion combined with worthless paper currency that can not even double as toilette paper. The same currency that is on the way out from being the world reserve currency.

            You sir have been blinded.

          • Kim

What world do you live in??? I can’t believe you are so oblivious! By the way, I invite you to be the very first to come out and try to tell me I can’t give my neighbors fresh grown foods, or that I can’t take my harvest to a local Farmer’s Market. I’m loaded for bear, have a backhoe, and 4300 acres to place your rotten carcass.

          • JC

You’re insane Flashman. Absolutley barking mad.
Obama is the next to last nail in the coffin of the US.

          • http://?? Joe H.

YOU are the one that is blind! you have your head shoved so far up your analpore you would have to walk for 24 hours to see daylight!! one of these days, in the near future, you will be the perfect example of the grasshopper who fiddled while the ant stored food!!!

      • bp

HFlashman; Who exactly do you represent? No matter what the subject, you oppose it, while most commentaries are on the side of the article, like this one. Maybe someone should investigate YOU!?

        • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

bp, are you serious? Investigate, all you have to do is check out the Democrapola sewers.

        • HFlashman

BP…I oppose idiocy, reactionary thoughtless screams, robotic mindsets blindly following what they’re instructed to do, and proposing policies and concepts which would do nothing but forward the goals of terrorists…the destruction of this Nation.

Two being the responses to this article written by someone whose capacity for truth and objectivity is nonexistent, his mental agility is akin to a herd of turtles racing through peanut butter and who is obviously just short of full candidacy to the insane asylum.

Not one response…not one…makes any concerted effort suggesting effective ways to affect the rule making process. The fact that the SCOTUS ruled almost 70 years ago this is within the CONSTITUTIONAL powers of the government has no bearing on what these folks here write or propose. Heck…some even brag their GOP Reps and Sen oppose this bill…and why should they not oppose it? It has no freakin’ effect whether this bill passes or not ! None. It’s an easy position for a Rep or Sen to take since it doesn’t affect the bribes and monies paid by their Masters to the Sens and Reps of the GOP.

Want to have a real effect? Flood the rule making body with public comments opposing the new rules. That can be brought up when the rules are challenged and effectively thwart the rules because public comment has to drive any rule making promulgation. And so the courts have ruled time and again. But honesty, logic, and sanity escape the reactionary mindset the GOP has fostered in its attempts to hide the influential powers funding and controlling its agenda.

The other is the failure…total abject failure … of these posters to stufy facts and figures which expose the lies they are fed. Take the Stimulus package and current monetary policy. One cannot escape the facts. We were o the edge of complete financial meltdown. The CBO has just issued a report stating between 1.8 and 3.5 MILLION jobs were created and countless hundreds of thousands saved. All the economic numbers show we are coming out of this GOP created disaster earlier than we would have (if we ever would have) had we followed GOP suggestions. We have a monetary policy of captial expansion to battle China and European policies which place us at a distinct disadvantage in world trade as well as thwart any danger of deflation or a “W” recovery.

Granted..there are competing thoughts as to the CE policy the Fed is implementing. I’m not opposing that. Such is healthy. But to merely cry about it, to lie about it, to avoid talking about it…just merely whine, scream, rant and rave about it and call for actionjs which will in every case lead to our destruction as a world ecomic power…that’s insane. Yet that is what these posters suggest and support because that is what the GOP leadership proposes to feed the voting machine built on those lies, fears, and uneducated LAZY thought processes.

so BP…in short, there my response to your question.

      • Bruce D.

1942). If the government wanted to, under the ICC, it could regulate the home gardener growing tomatoes for his own use, as it would affect Interstate Commerce if he did not buy tomatoes on the market.

Hflashman, another example of trashing the constitution and giving the government full dictator powers over the people under the guise of the commerse clause because they failed to make a purchase. To me that is inherantly evil. You do not seem to have a problem with.

        • HFlashman

It’s been the ruling for 68 years Bruce. It’s considered one of the leading cases on the Commerce Clause. It “dictates” nothing.

I have no problem with it as it logically stems from the needs of commerce and federal jurisdiction over the Nation as One. The extremist views and rantings of the author above are being shown for what they are…rantings from a near lunatic.

The answer to the Bill is opposing it as it shortcuts rulemaking requirements for public comment. Nothing more. BTW…the better response to thse opposing overall quality control and weakening the control of Big Ag over the family farm and of us is to have a bill probiting any rule promulgtion BUT a rule which creates a level playing field for the family farm …

But then….that would be inopposite of what the GOP desires, to continue bending us over to the interests of Big Monied Interests.

          • K. Kadir

This is incorrect. Your argument is based on a misunderstanding of the interstate commerce clause and several large leaps of assumption. Using a similar lawyer’s argument, I will easily refute your position.

The fact the I grow tomatoes in my own garden in no way supposes that if I would otherwise purchase them on the market. I would not. The fact that I grow tomatoes in my garden in no way supposes that the specific quality, variety, etc. would be available on the market or that it would be equivalent in price and satisfaction. It would not and that is a point with some legal precedent.

Although it is a less important point because the first two points take care of the argument, there is also no reason at all to assume that if I did buy tomatoes on the market, I would buy them from an out of state source.

The interstate commerce clause in no way logically or legitimately covers private home gardens. There is also nothing in our constitution that requires a private citizen to bear responsibility for commerce on an individual level. The idea that it is somehow legitimate to control what a private individual grows in their back yard based on it’s effect on commerce is not only an affront to the personal liberty our nation was founded upon but it is also completely absurd.

          • K. Kadir

Excuse me, That sentence should have read:

The fact the I grow tomatoes in my own garden in no way supposes that if I did not grow them I would instead purchase them on the market.

The point being that it is not at all unusual for gardeners to eat certain produce only when homegrown and otherwise do without those items. The law cannot suppose that one action automatically negates an alternative. Legal precedent requires that an alternative action cannot be assumed.

      • Average Joe Patriot

Sigh. Sometimes one can be so right they get it wrong. What people need to realize is that with politics, we’re in a pig fight. We’re the pigs, not the bettors.

And so are the politicians. Even Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brzynski have owners who farm them out for pig fights.

Trust your neighbors, but keep your tools sharp and well oiled, and remember who you lent them to.

    • Jim Tagami

Amen!!! I am with you all the way!

No wonder our congress and the government is going to hell! They have no common sense
and wasting our tax dollars on something as rediculous as this. This last election didn’t teach
them any lesson it appears. We need to even make more drastic changes to our elected officials
to let them know that we are sick and tired of all this nonesense. Two senetors from California
are you listening? We can vote you out if you can’t handle your job!

      • Michael Davidson

Jim I agree 100% with your Comment Right On

Instead of worrying about my health, the FDA should worry about theirs. Coming onto MY land to see if I’m growing vegetables or fruit could be detrimentle to THEIR health. They will fing to much lead content in THIER backside. Plus those raspberry bushes have thorns.

JimH, you mean they could get lead poisoning? that’s what will happen at my place, in fact I’m expanding my garden.

Jeesh…the ability of the government to regulate fod as well as interstate commrce is a long established power and been upheld by the SCOTUS for decades. You can do whatever you want to your property, as long as it doesn’t affect your neighbor or society. See e.g. paper title “The Commons” by Barry Commoner.

          • Average Joe

You seem to mention the SCOTUS in almost every post you make. First off, no matter what case you quote from always remeber this fact: the only people affected in any way, shape or form by the case you quote are the litigants in that case…period! The SCOTUS interperates that case and that case alone…it has no bearing whatsoever on any future case. The Lawyers can and do ague their cases before the SCOTUS and oft times do quote past decisions made by the SC. That does not however mean that the judges have to even consider those past decisions in determining their ruling in any given case. In other words, the SCOTUS can make any decision they want, based soley on their interpretation of the law as it applies to the instant case before it…regardless of past rulings.
Me thinks you put too much creedence in past rulings of the SCOTUS….rather than the politics and mindsets of those sitting on the Bench presently….

        • AnhydrousBob

If you have to pay “rent” to the government, then the property is really not yours, is it?

          • Bleh

It is not. They can also take it from you if they feel a road or something else needs to be where your property is. Eminent Domain.
Your property is not really yours and never has been.

          • Al Sieber

A Bob, you are absolutely right, even if you pay property tax it’s still not yours.

          • Average Joe

Absolutely correct, without a Land Patent or Allodial Title….they (the Government) own the property…I seriously doubt anyone on this forum has either. My house and property have been paid for for 30+ years…I have a Title from the state, however I do not have Allodial Title nor a Land Patent….Property taxes amount to a land useage fee.

The best defense is offense. If Monsanto wants a war they are going to get one.

I know a lot of you think it’s always the government and in a way it is but it’s really coming from the Monsantos of the world who have infiltrated the FDA and the EPA and are lobbying heavily to have their way. They want to control all of the world’s seeds, then genetically modify each one and apply for a patent. The second purpose of the GMO is that it can withstand more pesticides and chemicals which are needed to grow their deficient moncultures in deficient soil. All for massive profit.

Are you getting tired of the government doing the bidding for the Monsantos?

This is war on our food supply. And our small gardens are the last bastions of our freedom and of our food security.

    • Angel Wannabe

      Monsanto my AZZ!

      Angel – Open your eyes!

      • Angel Wannabe

K__My eyes have been for a long time opened darlin, did it take this article for you to see where we are headed????

        • Karolyn

Angel – I have been aware of this, and following bills via groups I belong to, for over 10 years. It IS the Monsantos of the world that are the bosses. I recognize that as fact. When it comes to Big Pharma and Big Business throwing their weight around, I will always be writing my congressmen. You seem to have the wrong impression of me.

          • Kate8

It’s true. Monsanto and the government are in cahoots. They are all in the same NWO, cull the population club.

          • Kate8

Karolyn – This is one area where those of us on both sides of the aisle are mostly in agreement.

Look to see who is supporting this in Congress. THE PROGRESSIVES. Look also at who is opposing it. Not Progressives.

Please, please, please. Pay attention to how your gang is voting on this and similar bills. You will be surprised.

    • Bruce D.

Monsanto does not vote on these bills. Those on the left want big government and the power to control people and businesses. Left voters are blind to that and always make business their target. The truth of the matter is the democrats and progressive republicans eat at the same pig trough when it comes to corporations. This is something the Tea Party is trying to put an end to. The left voters are too blind to see that their own party eats at the same pig trough because they are looking to eat at the pig trough also.

      • Kate8

Well said, Bruce D. As I said, my democrat Senators, Boxer and Feinstein, always vote in favor of big business and big government. Heck, they are heavily invested, themselves. They completely support this monstrosity.

I write to them routinely, and all I get back is a generic slap in the face.

My Republican Congressman has been faithful in voting our voice.

    • TIME

      Hi Eric,
Let me just ask you a few questions, please just be truthful with me, ok? As I don’t want to inslut you nor waste my time on mindless back and forths of zero value.

I have looked over many of your post, I don’t think your bent, perhaps a bit distorted on a few topic’s and thats well within the norm of human thinking, so I figure you may well be one who can grasp the overall BIG picture program.

Q ~1, Do you understand what the NWO is all about?

Q ~2, Do you love your freedom?

      Thanks later TIME

PS: JFR- I agree 100% with you on the Monsanto issue.

    • Vicki

Monsanto (and any corporation) has no power that government does not hand them. If our Representatives where true to their oath of office Monsanto would have no effect on our laws. OUR Representatives are the corrupt problem. They do NOT read. They do NOT write. They do NOT comprehend.

You can blame the voter if you want but the elected Representatives would still not give Monsanto any power AT ALL if they simply understood and followed the document they swore to uphold.

Thus you see the fulcrum is the honesty and integrity of the Representative. Then again we were warned that our system of government is only for a moral and religious people. As we can see by simple observation it is wholly unsuited to any other.

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other. ”

      • Kate8

Vicki – The problem is that Monsanto is part of the global corporate conglomerate. They heavily fund and lobby government officials in Congress and elsewhere. They have people within the FDA and WHO.

Congressmen accept money from corporations and then are obliged to vote in their interests. Plus, many in government are heavily invested in Monsanto, just as they are BigPharma. It’s really just one big orgy taking place in those once hallowed halls-turned-whorehouse.

The only ones they don’t feel obliged to represent is us.

    • JC

Actually, Eric is exactly right here.
Corporations are not our entire problem, but some of them are very significant, including Monsanto.
See “The Corporation” (film) for a better look.

  • J.M.R.

well said people this has got to end, when they think they have the right to stop us from raising what we eat they had be ready for a fight.

      Read the case of Wickard v. Filburn, 317 U.S. 111 (1942).

      • AnhydrousBob

Just because the Supreme Court got it wrong in the 1930′s and 1940′s does not mean it is the correct ruling. This is not the way it was at the founding of our country – the concept that the government is all powerful is not what the colonists were fighting for, but rather against. It was Hamilton that wanted to replace the tyranny of the English Crown with the tyranny of our own permanent executive, and give the federal government the same powers and standing as the British Mercantile system that had just been cast off.

Besides, what gives YOU the right to tell me what I can do with my property? How can YOU decide what I can do with my body, including what I can eat? Are you really that arrogant? Do you really think you are that much more intelligent than me? You spout SCOTUS rulings, but I’m not impressed, sorry.

“Just because the Supreme Court got it wrong in the 1930′s and 1940′s does not mean it is the correct ruling. It was Hamilton that wanted to replace the tyranny of the English Crown with the tyranny of our own permanent executive, and give the federal government the same powers and standing as the British Mercantile system that had just been cast off.” Your premise(s) is based on opinion and not fact therefore your conclusion is false.

“Besides, what gives YOU the right to tell me what I can do with my property?” I agree with you on this point.

“How can YOU decide what I can do with my body, including what I can eat?” As long as you have adequate means to take care of problems that arise from your abuse of your body and mind, and do not ask for my or any others assistance, directly or indirectly – have at it.

“Are you really that arrogant? Do you really think you are that much more intelligent than me? You spout SCOTUS rulings, but I’m not impressed, sorry.”

I understand your anger, but name calling and character assassination detracts from your point. Someone who constantly cites someone else’s contribution to a discussion may not have an original thought or can not express themselves adequately (or maybe too lazy to create something intelligent) is not worth your time or energy.

          At least in my opinion.

          • Bleh

“Your premise(s) is based on opinion and not fact therefore your conclusion is false.”
Explain away State Nullification then if the Fed was meant to be all powerful?

          • AnhydrousBob

CB – What character assassination? Asking if someone is so arrogant that they believe they have the right to choose my destiny for me is not attacking someone, it is attacking their idea (that they believe that) – Sheesh.

Now, as to the other stuff about Hamilton you said was based on a false premise – you need to read something besides comics. A little history, maybe – now THAT might be a personal attack – but, like you mentioned, I’ve got all this anger …

        • Average Joe

Political tags – such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth – are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.
          Robert A. Heinlein

I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.
          Robert A. Heinlein

      • K. Kadir

Wickard v. Filburn was a ruling based on an already imposed limit on wheat production based on acreage used for commercial purposes. That case is in no way applicable to the current subject of “home” gardens for personal use. That said, and as I mentioned in a comment above, the ruling is based on an assumption of alternate reaction and is therefore incorrect. A decent lawyer should have been able to argue an effective appeal based on that premise and have the ruling overturned.

  • Eric Bischoff

ecoli out breaks don’t come from small farming or gardening they always come from massive factory farming.

This is the same analogy as frisking all of us at airports to maybe catch a terrorist who should have been on a no fly list to begin with.

It’s the same foolishness as when an old sick person dies from a mosquito/West Nile virus and they force spray the whole town from helicopters with toxic poisons.

    • BobS

Right Eric, the normal small farmer doesn’t use crap for fertilizer. Just another way for government control. This way they know who is growing veggies so they can try to tax us on that too. It’s like it is 1776 all over again. Hmmmm….I wonder what it is going to take to get this country straightened out. On a comical note, remeber Cheech and Chongs “Up In Smoke” where they had that camouflage swimming pool? Maybe that is what we need to hide from Google or flyovers. :)

      • Angel Wannabe

        Right on Man!!!__lol_I remember!

      • JimH

Bob, Some of the natural fertilizer is manure, so,yes they do use crap for fertilizer.

      • Vicki

Crap (animal waste) IS Fertilizer. That is the natural order of things.
Now it is not the ONLY fertilizer. There is both organic and inorganic (hinting at the source of the product). In general fertilizer needs 3 key elements to keep a plant happy. Nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K).–a5942

        • independant thinker

In true organic farming you can only use manure and/or compost as fertilizer.

          • http://?? Joe H.

there are farmers out there that are using dried HUMAN waste on their fields from the sewage treatment plants. the big problem with this is they also get heavy metals, drugs, all kinds of little nasties!!!

            Joe H.,

  • Bus

Two big problems as I read it. First its unenforceable, why pass a bill that would require such as large regulation force when they can’t even fund the INS to protect our borders. So it will end up (if passed) another dead letter bill that does nothing except make common Americans criminals and can be enforced capriciously.
Second it turns over the writing of the regulations to the bureaucrats, Come on Congress if you are going to write a bill, then take the responsibility to write the whole thing. When legislation is turned over to the executive branch bureaucratic agencies then not only is it unconstitutional but it allows them to create rules that merely perpetuate their existence rather than do any good for the American people.

    • Concerned American

Obama’s private security force will tear up your garden and shoot you and your family if you resist. Maybe the military will side with Obama’s private security force. Sound unbelievable? The German military by and large sided with Hitler. Our troopers confiscated guns in the wake of hurricane Katrina. We interned Japanese in WW2.

Well if our farmers, who are used to slaving hours in the hot sun for hours on end had 1/100th the discipline in fighting agaisnt the government, then yes, they would be forced to unleash chain guns on you and burn your small farm in a hard core nazi style raid. But alas, while you farmers have lots of balls when it comes to resisting the sun and tougheing it out through hard labor, you apparently have no balls when it comes to resisting big mother government. Hell many of you just sit there and take our tax payer money TO NOT PRODUCE food.

American farmers, time to grow some real nuts.

          • Concerned American

Oh I forgot, you also steal our tax payer money like cheap prostitutes to produce Ehtanol WHICH BURNS MORE FUEL THAN IT SAVES when you could be feeding Americans. Just because Satan is offering a tempting offer doesn’t mean you have to accept it.

          • Angel Wannabe

            Well said Concerned American!!!

          • StarvinLarry

Those who take taxpayer money to NOT produce food are mainly the wealthy who happen to own large tracts of land that are zoned for agricultural use-like our senators and congressmen and women.
The small farmers do NOT own enough land to qualify for these programs.
By the way-SOME of the programs are good-like the CRP program-which is designed to have farmers not plant every field edge to edge-it’s there so farmers leave some unplowed land-creating windbreaks, and providing habitat for animals, like rabbits and foxes-and birds like quail and pheasants.
The rest of the programs are designed to keep prices UP,so small farmers CAN make a profit.

          • Vicki

            StarvinLarry says:
“The rest of the programs are designed to keep prices UP,so small farmers CAN make a profit.”

So paying the large farm to produce NOTHING so that the small farm can get more money by SLAVING away for 12+ hrs a day is what? Oh I remember. Its called slavery.

Then the small farmer pays MORE tax cause they got more and that tax PAYS the large farm owner to sit on his (you know that word starting with A and ending with SS)

Nice corrupt system. Reagan was right. Government IS the problem.

          • Al Sieber

            Good one Concerned American.

        • Kate8

          Karolyn – Not so fast.

Penalties are already written in as thousands, tens of thousands of dollars for raising organic food. This is absurd, but true.

We could have folks imprisoned for growing food. Before you scoff, read the bill.

          • Vicki

Karolyn. Extra brownie points to you if you read the bill. Something not even our Representatives seem to do anymore.

History unlearned is history repeated. And it is that kind of thinking that allows it to happen.

    • Barbara

The problem with this bill even if unenforceable, it can always be used against someone in around about way to make you comply. They can use it to take your property away. The government likes to use devious underhanded laws to make people obey.

      • Vicki

As you say the law may be unenforceable but it is still useful for harassing your political/ideological enemies.

Consider drug law. Clearly after 60+ years it is unenforceable. Yet we still have it. The people most often in jail are not the people at the top of the command structure. They are the customers and first level sales force.

Then again any law restricting a free people from possession is unenforceable.

      • Vicki

Restricting possession of things is pretty hard in prisons too :)

PREDICTION: If this country does not immediately rid itself of Obama, et al, we will be a fully established Communist (or worse) nation by the end of 2011.

The fact that the House is predominantly Republican now is irrelevant. It has strengthened their resolve. Nothing matters more to Obama, et al, than furthering this agenda. They will let nothing – and no one – stop them. THEY ARE DETERMINED TO REACH THIS GOAL.

Communists are coming out of the woodwork now. They are more a part of our government than any of us even know. They grow bolder with every liberty controlling measure gained. For example: Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WVA).

We are allowing Obama, a self-professed Anti-American, to commit treason. We are allowing A TRAITOR to rule this country, to trash this country, to shame this country, and to ensure this country is in position for an easy takeover. And, I have no doubt Obama has been promised much to accomplish this.

    • Angel Wannabe

      Well said Emmy!!!!

    • Karolyn

Ths has nothing to do with Obama. It’s the stranglehold big Pharma and big business have over the FDA and our congressmen.

Might I add, the big business that you conservatives so heartily back!

        • Kate8

Karolyn – You obviously haven’t checked out how many democrats back big business. In fact, they are either sold out to the lobbyists or they have personal interests.

      • Emmy

This is a prime example of why we are where we are today in this country. You just do not get it yet Karolyn.

Karolyn – It is THIS Congress and administration that is passing these bills. They have always FAILED in past ones.

Of course it is the fault of THIS group of NWO puppets. Like I said, do some research. Look at who is actually voting FOR this stuff. It is YOUR camp.

          • Vicki

Karolyn. If the Democrats are here to SAVE us from the evil Big Corporation why and be specific are they, with FULL control of the House and Senate AND PRESIDENCY (That would be the Obama nexus btw), pushing this bill?

Are you claiming that this bill is bad for Big Corp?

      • Kate8

Oh come on – what do you expect from a house and senate full of lawyers
It reminds me of one episode on StarScape. There was a planet and the ruling class were all lawyers. If you weren’t a lawyer then you were a worker who supported them. Wow – sounds just like the good ol’ USA. Seems like all of our little pea brained lawyers have too much time on their hands. Between them and the unions – the Corporations – looking for handouts and other free money from BIG GOVERNMENT – we are doomed.
Alas – there will be no more of “I remember when” if any are able minded to still go there.

Well, this what that big companies doing all the time. That, how they kill production of fresh (unpasteurized) milk in the past and those laws

If you don’t vote in 2012, this kind of “kitty crap” is going to continue.

The bill does NOT state anywhere in the text that home gardens would be illegal-it just does not exclude them-this is mainly an internet rumor-how could anything even close to this be enforced?

Why isn’t anyone commenting on the REAL dangers of this bill? It will give the FDA the authority to regulate food supplements-all those vitamin/mineral/herbal supplements people take?

The statement that the FDA has criminalized raw milk is also not true-it’s left up to the states-there are only a few states where sales of raw milk are illegal…
Just write/call/fax/e-mail your senators/congressmen/women and tell them you want an amendment added to this bill to specifically EXCLUDE home gardens from FDA authority.

    • Emmy

You need to read on this topic a bit more. Bing this. It is going on right now, across the country. It is happening. This is real life.

Control our food, our children, our health, our lives, our livelihood.

      • Kate8

Emmy, Right on. These creeps don’t give a rip about food safety. Just like Obamacare, it is about TOTAL, ABSOLUTE CONTROL.

    • independant thinker

“The bill does NOT state anywhere in the text that home gardens would be illegal-it just does not exclude them-”

Exactly, they are NOT exempted. When has the feds ever tried to do things on the smallest scale possible? It is the nature of the feds (actualy almost all if not all government at any level) to try and expand its reach if and when at all possible. In light of that fact at some point home gardens and food animals grown for private consumption WILL be included.

  • Pat

The FDA does not do the job it is supposed to do as it is. They could no more regulate private gardens than they regulate drugs and foods on the market that should not be there. This group is entirely incompetent and more than likely, illegal, by accepting bribes from the big pharmaceutical companies. The pharmaceutical companies are the ones who pay them to do the research on the drugs the pharmaceutical companies put out. Now tell me that is not a conflict of interest!!!! At the very least, biased opinions and slanted research. They all need to be fired and we need new folks in there who will not accept bribes and who will simply do the basic jobs the FDA is supposed to do, NOT checking out private gardens. How ridiculous!!!!

  • Teresa

I hope you all do realize this really does lead to a bigger picture….it’s not just about our lil ole farm or the big farms down the road…step out of the box for a second. When the government takes measures such as this there is a reason!
We are in times of war…we are being told to prepare, to ration, what will the government do when times get to the point when they need to come in and legally take what is theirs?

    • Angel Wannabe

      I agree Teresa__The SOB”S!

    • Kate8

Teresa, You are right. And further, the ‘authority’ is already in place for them to confiscate our food storage and all survival measures we’ve taken. Along with any and all gold.

The elites are dead serious, and their plans are going into full swing.

  • American Citizen

A note to the Federal Government, “Get out of our lives (and livelihoods). How do you think we’ve survived all these years without your “help?” You guys think you have to justify your jobs by intruding more and more into areas where the Constitution does not give you the authority. It’s time to put Congress on a permanent vacation – or at least an extended one. Sock it to them, citizens. Vote those who say yes to this piece of crappy legislation out of office. Tell those who’ve just been voted in they’d better not support this. Hold their feet to the fire.

  • 45caliber

The FDA has actually outlived much of its usefulness. The big problem is that very few of them want to leave their plush offices. They need thousands of people to check imports from other countries but that requires travel. So instead they try to justify their positions and big salaries by “finding” something that might be a problem. This is one example.

It is also an example of what the government wants – control. If you grow your own food and perhaps trade it with your next door neighbor, you would be breaking the law – and must stop. It is also a way to insure that you purchase food from their “approved” companies.

And if you can’t afford the food … well, we have too many people in the world anyway.

  • 45caliber

Just hit and run today. Everyone have a good holiday!

  • Bill

This is certainly just another way of Big Brother controlling every aspect of our lives. They will ever stop me fom raising my own food and as far as this 1099 crap, I’ll sell it when and where I want. Besides,by the time they try to enforce this or even attempt to enforce it, there will more pressing civil issues to attend to.

  • Bob Hauser

If the palsied and sociopathic FDA wishes to set foot on my premises and dictate to me whether I can grow my own food, they may just find out the hard way that I have planted more than just food.

Nancy – While it might be fun to entertain such an idea, the scary thing is that this is EXACTLY what the Left plans to do with the Right at some point. Not only does do Leftist governments always SILENCE all oppostion, they ususally do it by KILLING them off.

I have no doubt that many of the Lefties on this site will be among those cheering the rounding up of conservative voices, should they claim irrevocable control.

Communist Russia here we come. In Russia if you have three cows three belong to the goverment but you will get for raising & caring them the produce from one. If you grow three bushels of vegtables you will get to use or sell one, the other two go to the governent. In Russia they tell YOU what you can and cannot grow and how much to grow. You have no choice. We are heading the same direction. This is another way for the government to STEAL our freedom & our rights. The only way I see to stop this kind of action is a revolution. Tea Party one o one.

First of all I don’t like eating food that has pesticides on them, but
what really alarms me is the use of “Irradiation” on all of our food.
I am a “Meat Cutter” by trade and have been cutting meat for thirty-
five years. You should see how the “Irradiation Process” affects the
meat that we are eating. If the “Meat” gets too much “Radiation” from
this process it literally burns the meat and I have to cut it off so
the product does’t look like it has been cooked. So,if
“Big Brother” wants too use this process on everything we eat all
that “Radiation” from the “Irradiation Process” is not good for our
health. Personally I don’t like the thought of dying from cancer.
So if “Irradiation” is to be used on all foods that would mean even
“Organic Foods” would have to go though the same process and thats
    not “Organic”.

    • Kate8

Roy, They are making all food devoid of nutrition and life-sustaining properties. In fact, GMO is downright poisonous.

They try to appear to be doing this for our safety, and they know that we know what they are doing. They consider us as good as dead already, so our voices are meaningless to them.

  • http://www.gunthorp,com Gardner Behrends

I emailed my senators, but got a “we know what’s good for you” response. I’ve tried to vote them out, but the lawyers, unions, and vote counters control the elections. I doubt that they’ll come after my chives, which have sucked up some of the minerals in the ground to which I have no right, but if they try to prohibit neighborly veggie trading, the economy will vegetate to a black market barter system sans taxation. If they try to cut off my green thumb, there will be blood on my hands.

    • Karolyn

I usually get an email response and a letter from Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC). I am pretty happy with him (even though he is a repub! :-). On the other hand, I don’t trust Jim DeMint and never even get a response from him. Goes to show how important the voters in his state are to him.

      • Kate8

Karolyn – I can see why you like Lindsey Graham. He is a treasonous RINO. A Progressive in R clothing.

        I’d take DeMint any day.

I still say, look how the weasels are voting. Graham is PRO the ‘food safety’ bills. I’ll bet DeMint opposes them.

        • Kate8

Karolyn – When you keep supporting people who vote for these draconian bills, do you not see how you are shooting yourself in the foot?

I don’t think you really watch them, because you are avoiding the obvious.

        • Karolyn

Kate – He voted against s510. Demint didn’t vote.

          • Karolyn

Sorry, he didn’t vote on the 18th and voted nay on the 17th.

          • Kate8

            Karolyn, Who? Which?

If Graham is coming to his senses a little bit it is just because he’s had the fear put in him. He’s beholdin’ to the Progressives because they’ve got him by the shorthairs.

I know DeMind would not support such a bill as this. He’s one of the good guys, as far as I can tell.

It is just more crop coming in around about way from the Dept of Ag. The first Sec of Ag, an avowed communist, preached that all food production should be controlled by the government as well as the land. “Obama Lite”, FDR signed off on the socialist master plan of government meddling.. I remember my granddad and my Dad, saying don’t get involved with any government program they will control what you plant, what you grow as well as where and when you sell.. Everytime a National Socialt Communist Democrat Union Party selects a marxist as a Prez canidate, the controls of any food production, gets more intense and restrictive. Onumnutts and his socialist lap dogs, have even more impedements coming down the trail for the citizens producers. When the CALFO rule was set up in the 90′s by Clinton adminasration. When reading the bills plan in95, which organized under DOI Bruse Blabbit, any reps that anyone contacted, just said it was for only mega corporations. When EPA started to push every rancher and farmer to get permits. And give more agency wonks access to their property it was too late. Over the last few years more small landowners, are selling out so as not to have government dumazzes driving going through their private property. Who buys the land up, buyers are mega corporations, who look at the pruchase as a alley for more taxpayers money. Now that the nations cow herd is at the lowest number since 1952, and our wheat reserves are non existant have any wonder what we will eat? USA carried a 6 month reserves, just 10 years ago. Pavement pounders abd book trained overeducated idoits who sit in cubicules theorizing crap plans have no idea howor where food comes from or cares. Remember when the dog and cats food was poisoned, where was it traced to to, Chinese wheat mids. Do you think the food quality we soon will be getting, as good as ceral produced in the USA? With over 40 million acres and increasing in non productive idle crop land, our dependance from crap quality countries will not be good for consumers. Plus check out the billions wasted and the more people put out of work with idled land.

  • “JAVOPE”

If they control the crop with genetically modified seeds they control the food supply because when a crop planted with these seeds goes to seed all the seeds are sterile. BUY MORE SEED THE GOING PRICE TODAY IS OVER $1,000.00 PER POUND. No ticky no washy.

Who would have thought it would come to this when you were a kid 50 years ago.

    • http://clearwire Lucille

It is very sad when the government has to control our food. It is mostly all imported and why should we get it from overseas when one can plant all his garden and corn, soybeans etc right here in the good old USA

    • independant thinker

There are heirloom seeds available at the present time. Being heirloom seeds they are not modified in any way and will reproduce true to themselves if you save seed and replant them. In light of this bill I do not know how much longer they will be available but you can find them right now.

The FDA and FTC!!! Both epitomes of corruption in government today, run by fools who want to tell you what you can or cannot eat, what kind of medical treatments you can or cannot receive and what kind of supplements you can or cannot take! And now this kind of crap by becoming more interested in what you grow in your own garden – sounds like they want to tell you how to grow your own vegetables and you probably need a license soon in order to grow just a single watermelon. Anyone who knows a lot about these two agencies will tell you that they behave very much like the Gestapo of Nazi Germany. They happen to be the most powerful agencies that elected officials, including the White House, have no control over of what they do.

Government is getting too involved! Read Kevin Trudeau’s book, “Natural Cures ‘THEY’ Don’t Want You to Know About” (ISBN 0-9755995-1-8) to know more about the FDA’s and FTC’s dirty little schemes of shutting down anyone who has found the ultimate cure they believe will put doctors out of business. They will shut anyone up by bribing that person. Trudeau is, perhaps, the FDA’s and FTC’s number one adversary and these agencies are pretty much in fear that he is about to expose their schemes by “blowing the whistle” now that he has been gathering enough support (witnesses) that should anything happen to him or any of his family members, these organizations will be held accountable – they hate that!!!

Above all, the biggest protection one can have against FDA and FTC meddling is to never list any natural or organic product that is to be sold to the public as a “cure” or as a “preventive” – they follow everything you do and will suddenly appear, revoke your license and put you out of business before you can even say “Eric Robinson”. The goal is this…they want you to get sicker and sicker and sicker! The FDA and FTC are not interested in protecting consumers from harm or approving any product that is known to cure, they are only in it for the money!!!

There are cures out there for all illnesses, including all kinds of cancer, these federal agencies are doing all they can to keep secret from you – the consumer.

I’m not surprised that this is happening. Shortly after Obama took office, he was asked in a press conference by a reporter about the fear that some have that there would be a food shortage in this country and that people would start growing their own food. Obama’s response to that was that the food that people grow would be considered taxable income and they would have to pay taxes on them. During WWII the government urged people to plant what were called victory gardens to grow their own food and were rewarded for it. These days, Obama wants to penalize people for doing the same thing. In fact, anything a person does to make his life easier the Obama regime is against and will come after you for it. The US Constitution guarantees us life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But this is what happens when you get a government that considers the US Constitution to be an illegal document, and especially when you elect someone to the White House who hates America.

The Dept. of Health and Human Services – which is the FDA, Medicare, Medicaid, welfare, health insurance, etc. – is the biggest threat to our health & America’s budget. The FDA gives the impression that our food is safe because they’ve approved it, yet they allow unsafe items in our food. Trans fats should have been outlawed when it became apparent they are the biggest cause of heart disease, yet the FDA isn’t even considering it. Monsanto gave us aspartame which slowly damages our bodies. Medicaid has doubled in the past 10 years. 40% of all babies born in the US each year are born into Medicaid (poverty). Instead of changing welfare laws to stop this, Obama has made Medicaid bigger with the new income limits in Obamacare. We are 5% of the world’s population yet we use more prescription drugs than the rest of the world combined. And we are not healthier. Medicare fraud costs tens of billions every year and no one bothered with it until Obamacare said the savings will be used to pay Medicaid. The entire HHS needs to be gutted and started over without crooks and fools.

more fear mongering by the minions that support GOP initiatives and plans of attack, in hopes to render Federal Government ineffective under “O”‘s tenure and limited to a single term.

Remember the flap about bovine flatus? Next comes the tax on your flatus. Of course that means monitoring flatus production :). Bean and cabbage consumption will be regulated.Pickled eggs will be outlawed! All kidding (I hope)aside, it is time to get the republicrats (is there really two parties?) and government out of our lives!

High fructose corn syrup, artificial sweetners, artificial peanut butter, artificial cheese, the list goes on and on. Take away the right to grow our own food, keep us on the FDA junk food diet so we can’t afford our healthcare and become dependent on the state for more meds. Never mind a tea party. How about an FDA junk food party! Dump it in the ocean and rivers. Oops, then EPA will come along and haul us away for dumping hazardous materials. Anybody want to try? Maybe not. The stuff might really destroy the environment.

  • Henry Ledbetter

IT IS TIME TO DEFUND THE F.D.A. I have asked my congressman to investigate and possibly defund the FDA as their agenda is to destroy all freedom in America. We have run into real problems with the FDA IN GETTING TREATMENT FOR MY WIFES RSD. One treatment that has much promise is HBOT but it seems only 14 ailments are listed as treatable by the FDA but in reality 55 things could be treated with great success. The hospitals that have HBOT will not even talk to us about treatment because of the power of the FDA. GOD HELP US ALL IF THEY GET CONTROL OF THE SEED AND WHAT IS GROWN IN OUR GARDENS. HOW MANY OF YOU KNOW THAT YOU NEED A PRESCRIPTION TO BUY QXYGEN EQUIPMENT. They have sold their soul to big pharma to the point we now have drugs in our drinking water. Thanks Kate 8 for your information and stand. Henry

    • Eric Bischoff

We should not defund the FDA we should clean house and rehire people who will do their job. And that job is to protect us and the health of our children and elderly from the greedy businesses who break laws and commit crimes. Crimes they get away with because FDA employees, who used to work for them and probably will work for them again, turn their back. Some are even taking money directly from the companies they are supposed to regulate.

  • Henry Ledbetter

P.S. I have some water filters that should take the drugs and chlorine poison out of your water if anyone wants to barter. Bartering very well may be the best way to help each other in times such as this. Henry

  • obamadelusion

Obama is a farce. Whoever thought he would bring change to Washington is either naive or an idiot at best. First, he has not only continued, but given more power to the government to continue to spy on Americans. Also, he will likely hold prisoners of war, indefinitely, without a right to see justice. Secondly, Obama surrounded himself with Wall Street charlatans and allows the like of Ben Bernanke to devalue the dollar and print money and borrow from China. You kids and great-great-great grandchildren will pay for this for years to come while you enjoy your latte at Starbucks.

Thirdly, Obama has not done enough to create jobs or stir the economy, he has not done enough in my opinion, we have immigrations issues, health care from hell, and two ongoing wars. I thought he said he would end it?

See, Obamadelusion is just that, an illusion.

Stop Big Ag’s Food Safety Bill in the Senate
For over a year, the Farm Bureau and large agribusiness trade organizations have pretended to support a version of Senate Bill S.510, the Food Safety Modernization Act, which included essential amendments exempting small organic and sustainable farmers from Federal regulation. Now in the last week, Republican members of Congress and Food Inc. have announced they want to pass a one-size-fits-all S.510 without essential protections and exemptions for small organic and sustainable farmers. From Big Ag’s perspective this deceptive maneuver is a win-win: Factory Farms and GMO plantations can easily absorb the bureaucratic costs and paperwork of Federal regulations because of their size; they’ll gain good PR for supposedly supporting stronger food safety practices; while their increasingly popular competition, organic and sustainable farmers and ranchers, will be wiped out by regulatory burdens. The bottom line is that factory farms and Food Inc. would like to keep poisoning 80 million Americans every year in ever-larger food safety epidemics, while organic farmers, who have an outstanding food safety record, will be driven out of business.

A letter from the Farm Bureau, Big Ag processors and retailers states: “…by incorporating the Tester amendment [exempting small farmers from expensive onerous Federal regulations] in the bill, consumers will be left vulnerable to the gaping holes and uneven application of the law created by these exemptions. In addition, it sets an unfortunate precedent for future action on food safety policy by Congress that science and risk based standards can be ignored.”

What science and risk? Do your own Google search and you will not find any data or evidence of widespread problems caused by organic or local small farm producers. All of the major foodborne illness outbreaks, 78 million a year according to the Centers for Disease Control, have been caused by products that went through the long supply chains of factory farms, Food Inc. processing giants, and corporate agribusinesss.

Agribusiness’s real concern about the Tester-Hagan amendment isn’t food safety, but the precedent set by having Congress recognize that small, direct-marketing producers are different and should be regulated differently from large operations.

Big Ag is demanding that Senators pull the Tester-Hagan amendment. While the amendment is currently part of the “Managers’ Package” – the amended version of the bill agreed to by six bipartisan sponsors – nothing is certain until the actual vote.

Take Action Before Monday November 29

  • Ed

Unfortunately as the population grows so will regulations.

Of course practically everybody who grows his own food does it because it is more economical and safer as well as more nutritious.

But the more people we have, the more likelihood there is that some desperate nut will grow food in his backyard in an unsafe way in order make a lot of money selling it on the internet.

Sure the FDA may work very closely with agribusiness, but innocent people still need someway to be protected against unscrupulous folks who just happen to be small farmers.

If you don’t trust the FDA, how about recommending an alternative so people can buy at roadside stands without worrying about getting e-coli or something worse.

Of course, if enough people die from bad food our population will go down and then maybe we won’t need regulations and the FDA.

Makes you wonder if the government wants to use food as a means of bending us to their will. “Do what we say or you don’t eat.”

    Rancher here in SW ND.
Just so you know-USDA inspection labels on your meat mean NOTHING.
That is not to say that our meat is dangerous.
But the large slaughter facilities are allowed to self-inspect while USDA sends inspectors out to those small guys who often buy boxed beef from the packer to process & it is at the slaughter site that contamination most always occurs.
Irradiated food is the future in getting rid of pathogens on food.
But consumers should be able to choose whether they want it or something else.
If I want to buy raw milk or eggs from my neighbor, I ought to be able to.
Buyer beware. Whatever happened to that?
And BTW-someone above on Nov 24th mentioned Google Earth & their ranch-that is how USDA prints out crop maps.
They know everything you have on your property.
There is no way to hide what you are doing.
That is why all of us involved in ag should stop taking govt $$ if we can.
Bcs they do use satellite imagery to spy on you.
And when you take govt $$, they can hold you ‘hostage’ bcs you sold out.
That includes not taking govt subsidized or backed loans.
Once you let the govt into your door with one foot, they will come barreling in full force.
It’s only a matter of time.

Control our food supply, control us, I suppose. Apparently home gardens are currently exempted, but I don’t doubt that as food prices continue to rise and more people turn to gardening, TPTB will find a way to squelch them. Citizens who aren’t dependent (on your paycheck or your welfare check, doesn’t matter) are too hard to control.
