The Business Of War

August 22, 2011 by

The Business Of War

The American government’s favorite industry is war.

It is making war on five nations right now: Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen and Libya. The drumbeats for war on Iran are sounding, growing louder and louder. But before Iran will be Syria, as the United States tightens the noose around Iran.

President Barack Obama promised to extricate the U.S. from foreign wars. Instead, he’s starting new ones. The silence of the anti-war left is deafening. Where they loudly opposed President George W. Bush’s wars, they support Obama; if not openly, then through their silence.

The Republican Presidential contenders — save Representative Ron Paul — all want more war. In the debate prior to the Ames Straw Poll, they all indicated a desire to make war on Iran.

Neocons, especially, love war. But the war crowd exists on both the right and left sides. They are two sides of the same coin.

The war machine is at full throttle and has been for more than two decades. Do you realize there are now adults who have never lived during a time when the United States was not at war with a Middle Eastern nation? We are at war with Eurasia, or is it Eastasia? It’s both, and it projects to continue for decades.

The elected elites love war at home, too. They are fomenting war among the American people, and it is breaking out. As surely as class warfare was behind the riots in Great Britain, it is on the cusp of erupting here.

Article continues below…

Will You Survive
If The Unthinkable Happens?

You can’t turn on the Evening News these days without hearing about terrorist attacks… the latest natural disaster… acts of social unrest… and economic woes.

And then you lie awake all night, wondering how to keep your family safe
The harsh reality is … you never know when some sort of catastrophe is going to hit—and you never know how bad it will be or how long it will last.  The only way to guarantee that you and your family survive is to be prepared.

It’s easier than you think.  You can get simple, proven steps for surviving just about any kind of disaster – and come out of it financially stronger … more independent … more self-reliant … and even healthier than you are now.  Just click here.

The elites play classes off one another. They denounce the rich as the evil. They promote a lie, lumping into a group both hard-working and innovative entrepreneurs who made it by the sweat of their brow and the crony capitalists they created themselves, and then call them all rich.

They take an arbitrary figure, pulled out of thin air, and set it as the Rubicon. Cross it and somehow you were luckier than most, got a break someone else never got. Yachts and airplanes are demonized, while the elected elites vacation on yachts bought by others and are ferried about in private jets paid for by others.

They accept “campaign contributions” from Wall Street, then, with a wink and nod, demonize Wall Street. Then, they print billions of dollars to prop up Wall Street; rewarding it for bringing down the economy. This keeps the contributions flowing and themselves in power.

They demonize Big Oil, Big Medicine, Big Pharma and Big Tobacco. Then, they enrich those industries with special subsidies and tax breaks and laws passed to their benefit. They are rewarded with more campaign cash and, when their time on Capitol Hill is done, cushy jobs lobbying their replacements.

Their policies destroy the middle class. They preach fairness and set themselves up as the arbiters of fairness. They create a parasite class with an entitlement mentality. Then they work to grow the parasite class to keep themselves in power by taking more and more from the wages of the middle class.

Tax freedom day this year fell on Aug. 12. That’s how long it now takes for the middle class worker to fulfill his “obligation” to the leviathan. The Ponzi scheme that is our fiat money system is insatiable. It inflates away the savings and investments of Main Street America.

While the middle class struggles, the entitlement class grows. High unemployment (almost 14 million are unemployed), directly caused by government policies, pushes more people out of the middle class and into the parasite class. One in five American children now lives in poverty, according to a report by the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

But the parasites live well off the producers. They get “free” housing, “free” food, “free” cable television, “free” cell phones. Their kids eat “free” at school. These “entitlements,” along with ever-extended long-term unemployment benefits, become so attractive that the incentive to work is suppressed.

The workers look with disdain on the parasites. The parasites look with envy on the workers, wanting not their jobs but what they have. Recent riots in Great Britain demonstrate what happens when the parasites decide they want more.

Meanwhile, even the working class is at war with one another. This is encouraged by the elites, but the current Administration has doubled down. Just one example is the case of Boeing’s decision to build an airplane in right-to-work South Carolina. Obama’s National Labor Relations Board sued.

The thugocracy of the Labor Unions terrorize non-union workers and companies large and small. In Michigan last week, a man investigating after he noticed his security light had come on was greeted by a gunshot to the arm. On the side of his truck the word “scab” was scrawled. The man owns the largest non-union electrical company in his area.

Also last week, Verizon, which is in contract negotiations with the Communication Workers of America, reported that cable lines had been destroyed and equipment stolen in a number of States. Striking workers are the chief suspects.

According to news reports, union members in New York were encouraged to deal harshly with “managers and scabs.”

A phone hotline set up for union members said it was open season and told them to torture management and scabs with noise and chants.

In New Jersey, a judge had to issue an injunction against the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, which is also on strike against Verizon. The injunction prohibited, “Dropping, spreading, throwing, placing or otherwise causing nails, glass, cinder block, spikes, feces clubs, rocks, screws, or puncture devices of any kind, or other object or debris to be thrown or strewn in, on, or about Verizon’s driveways, parking lots, entrances, exits, vehicles and adjoining roads to any of Verizon’s property or any work site.”

Internal emails promote violence against management and workers crossing picket lines, suggesting first the use of tire irons and then a reminder that a strike is underway.

Isolated incidents? Hardly, but the mainstream media ignore them, preferring instead to parrot the elite’s lies and distortions of Tea Party members as terrorists, implying guilt by association even though there is no association. The MSM shrugs its collective shoulders as Vice President Joe Biden calls members of Congress terrorists for trying to hold fast to Tea Party ideals.

The MSM tries to link every act of violence to the Tea Party. Jared Loughner and Anders Breivik right wing? Those were lies. Doublespeak.

Tea Party members, at least those who gathered in 2009 and much of 2010 before the Republican Party began to co-opt the movement, are blue collar and white collar, owners of small businesses, retirees, former military, salt-of-the-earth people from all political spectrums. And while they indicated they are fed up with the status quo, Tea Party rallies were peaceful and orderly gatherings: Americans engaging in their right to petition government.

Right wing, left wing? Republican, Democrat? Engage in your Two Minutes Hate. O’Brien is proud.

The elites love war abroad and at home. It distracts the masses from government’s ongoing theft and manipulation. Anger with one another allows them to continue their looting. It promotes threats and violence, which allows them to further clamp down on freedom.

Endless wars, abroad and at home, equal totalitarianism. It’s totalitarianism under the sweet-sounding name of democracy.

Anti-war ‘left,’ now THERE’S an interesting mental image. This prez acts more and more like FDR, and damn few people have picked up on it. Two of the more incredibly stupid things FDR said was “I won’t send your boys into a foreign war” and “I hate war.”
So when will we hear this prez say the same things? He hates war so bad that we’re deeper into them, and there’s no sign that we’ll get out. The prez is so full of ethics that he just can’t find a way to get us out. Something reeks about this guy and his power-induced principles.
Could it be that he thinks being in the military and in harm’s way is the same as a regular job? Is that part of his job scheme? People get hurt, maimed and killed in war. That’s something that certain people just can’t get into their teensy heads.
Frankly, this guy is doing the same thing that FDR did. When his economic policies and his spook hirelings couldn’t produce results, he turned to military spending. Money was thrown around like conventioneers at a mall full of whore houses.
How long will it be before we’re in ten wars? Have reason and common sense been declared expendable values by this administration? We’re in deep stuff, people, and it won’t get better until our military is back in America – and the prez is a fading memory.

    • People’s Right’s

How long will it be before we’re in ten wars? you asked

      - After Syria, Iran will be next.
      - Russia, China and conservative eventually will come into a picture. WW3 is imminent and probably more than half of population will be gone.

      - The elites will initiate a revolution in the US, just the way they did in the ME countries, by using the “Useful Idiots”, radical organizations, the unemployed and the poor.

      • People’s Right’s

        - “Before Iran will be Syria, as the US tightens the noose around Iran.” Bob, you’re partial right.

War with Iran is not really a primary goal, it’s a much bigger picture than that. I wonder where the Anti-war groups are since Obama’s took office ? Who was behind the Ani-War groups during the Bush era, there were so many.

The mainstream media and Hollywood, etc have been constantly selling you EMP or the end of the world next year. It’s because of there’s going to be a nuclear war or a false flag.

The elites do have bunkers and will be safe, but we won’t; and there was a massive exodus by certain special groups to leave America, which have been going on since 2007.

        - The elites have built the SEED VAULT in Norway 2007 which contains over one billion seeds and are maintained under several hundred degrees below zero Celsius temperature. You can bet WW3 is imminent.

        - THERE WILL BE WARS, AND NOBODY CAN STOP THEM. EVERYTHING WILL BE WIPED OUT, especially all the financial documents, every records and there will be NO more Internet. Famine will happen in America for sure.

        • Al Sieber

          You got that right.

Al Sieber, 112-115? Wow! I guess I shouldn’t whine about the cool 96-100 temps here in Fresno this summer. We’ve had a couple of days at 105-107 and now the nights/mornings are cooling down to the mid 60′s.

So what’s in it for us? Oh yeah! A new version of the old version of dictatorships that is more “friendly” to US interests….just like the old version…

Same old same old. Except this time we go bust for sure.
Time clean out the White House and get something “American” going again.

First of all, youve got to understand, that the democrats, who are the left wing liberals, own the left wing liberal press. So naturally, anything the Republicans or Libertarians do are bad and hateful, but if they do it, well, they just wont talk about it. They work the uneducated public into a frenzy, telling lie after lie and their constant negative presentation of doom and gloom, and come up with a catchy slogan, “Change-change-change”, and repeat it on the brain sucker a couple of million times, and wow, instant election for someone nobody knew nothing about, without any qualifications as a leader, with no foreign policy or defense experience, and now as he and his ilk screw up at every turn, huh, not a peep from these so called “News” organizations. They truly should be ashamed of themselves, and we the people need to start taking action against them, and stop turning on the TV channels of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC, and send our message to them. That is all we have to do. I wish those who truly want to make a difference would do this. The power is in, “we the people”, we just dont use it, and that is a shame also.

Keep dreaming the United States is NEVER going to go to war with Syria, Iran, Russia and China. The Libyan war is now over with zero U.S. dead and zero U.S. wounded. U.S. involvement in Iraq will be down about 20,000 trainers by December down from 200,000 combat troops in 2006, 30,000 U.S. troops will be withdraw from Afganistan by the end of this coming winter leaving 70,000 that will also be drawn down in 2012-2013 to practically nothing. Both political parties in the U.S. realize that we cannot afford any more wars and must draw down dramatically on the two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq that we are already still committed to. Already Congress and the Obama admin. have agreed to $350 billion in cuts in the military budget over the coming year. The U.S. simply cannot afford its current level of military spending. All sane leaders realize this.

        • DaveH

          That leaves out Obama.

        • come-and-take-it

Isn’t political theater wonderful? Just trot out another donkey or elephant or some mother’s son. The big banks are playing us all and nobody talks about it. Our political system is CORRUPT! It’s the real problem, not wars. War is the continuation of politics by other means. It makes the banks money. It did 1000 years ago as it does today. TERM LIMITS! You’re being played. JFK was killed for it. He wouldn’t play.

          • Wondering Woman

We have one chance to win this election – that is if we get to have another election. In order to win it, we have to come to an agreement before the election and before the one world global government(aka the New World Order)decides it is time to shut down the internet.

The way I see it, we need someone with some idea of what is going on in Washington, DC who also is not likely to be another NWO puppet like the one we now have. Of the ones mentioned so far, the only one likely to come close to meeting the above is Dr. Ron Paul, and the fact that the Republican party is shoving him to the side, furthers my opinion that both the democratic and republican parties have already sold out to the NWO, which explains why none of our Congressional members have taken any action to stop the unconstitutional and some outright criminal behavior of Obama and his shadow government. Repre-sentative Michele Bachman, Senator Lamar Alexander and many others of them are lawyers. Isn’t it amazing that lawyers in the private sector recognize that many of Obama and his shadow government’s actions are criminal &/or unconstitutional behavior, but none of our congressional lawyers recognize it as such. This illegal alien Muslim in the White House has committed the greatest fraud this world has ever seen, he is ob-viously ineligible because he is not even a citizen, yet our “esteemed law makers” continue to aid and abet him in his fraud and high treason. How I long to see the whole lot charged, tried and convicted of their crimes against our beloved country. Ron Paul is also the only one who is likely to really reduce the size of the federal government, or to bring our troops home, instead of involving them in other wars for no just cause. I am not any more worried about Iran getting a nuclear bomb than I am about all the nuclear accidents, and we really haven’t seen the results of all the strontium already in our west coast soil (from the Fukashima accident)where most of our produce is grown. Think you can escape it? Don’t forget John McCain introduced S. 510, that bogus food bill, before the NWO puppets get through with that one, you won’t even be able to grow a potted tomato plant on your own patio, and you are not likely to have a patio, even though the one you have now is paid for.

Ok, Ron Paul for president. Now for the VP – anyone object to Jesse Ventura, who is an ex Marine, ex Navy Seal, ex wrestler, ex Mayor and ex Governor? I suggest him because he has spent a lot of his time traversing this country trying to ferret out the corruption in our government and we need someone with the knowledge he has gathered. If
you think he isn’t up to it, then next choice is Sarah Palin, and 3rd choice is Herman Cain. I would like to see Sarah Palin and Herman Cain
in the House &/or Senate to be in line to follow in the Pres. & VP
positions. This could give us a long line of patriots working to save this country and bring it back to glory.

Right now, what we have is the NWO pulling their puppet’s strings to send our troops to carry out plans to bring every government down, using money that we don’t have to finance it, and the end result is that the final part of that plan is to force us under the new world order because we will be financially destitute. Let’s foul their plans, decide who we want the most and that we will vote for them no matter what – if they aren’t on the ballot, we can just demand a write in and draft them by write in.

I think Allan West probably isn’t NWO puppet yet, but we need a few good ones left in the House and Senate to lead the newcomers we hope to replace all the incumbents with. Ron Paul’s plan to bring our troops home sounds more appealing than going with someone else because
they retired from the military and sound favorable to war with Iran.
I don’t think Ron Paul would hesitate to send those troops to our defense if we were attacked, but his non-intervention in others wars sounds sane to me.

If it doesn’t to you, think about it! How much sense does it make to have our troops (who would likely be averse to firing upon USA citi-
zens in the event of martial law) scattered all over Planet Earth while we have a large number of foreign troops on USA soil? I urge all of you, including Alan West, to go to and type
HAARP into their search window. After watching a few of the videos
available, you might join me in wondering why we should worry about
Iran getting a nuclear bomb. While you are at do the same with Codex Alimentarius and you will see what McCain’s S.510 is meant to do for us (or rather to us). It is not a food safety bill as it was presented. to be.

If we need a military retiree, they can always draft retired Major
General Albert Stubblebine who retired as the head of military elec-
tronics intelligence and is doing an excellent job the best he can as
President of the Natural Solutions Foundation. He should be a great one for the cabinet.

          • bob wire

Winning an election starts with selecting someone that’s electable.

So unless Ron Paul changes his approach some and adjust, I count only two that qualify as contenders today.

Mr. Paul has to want it and stump it and make believers out of people that would be willing to back him as oppose to someone else.

Where it is money or message or both with Paul, I’m uncertain. I like parts for his message and would like to hear more.

I hope you are right, Mark!

When the pull-out out of Iraq was announced a while back they FORGOT to inform us that the Largest Mercenary force (Blackwater) is staying behind for an UNLIMITED TIME!

          • Bruce

Libertarian, Thats is correct, and as they are really well paid our COG for that war will not change. Just as the fact that in Afghanistan we will not be removing the vast amount of our troops until 2026 according to the Pentagon’s statment dated August 20th 2011.
Can presume that the CIA will be taking the 195 tons of gold from Lybia to aid in the funding of what ever their new thing may be.
Oh BTW the question of are the rebels in Lybia paid Merc’s from the CIA? You now your tax dollars at work again.

          • eddie47d

Bruce; Haven’t heard that one about the 195 tons of gold.No matter, it belongs to the Libyan people and is not our to take. We don’t need to be funding anymore wars with anybodies money especially our own.

        • http://google Sandra Henley

Hey Mark: I like your logistics. Hope it plays out that way. The 850Bill cut to defense spending I hope it would be used for infra structure in US and help to get Americans back on their feet but that’s too logical and reasonable for the government to do something like that.

        • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Its not our military spending that is killing us mark. Its the social handout programs. Those monies totally trump what is spent on defense. And if dont have a strong defense, your toast pal. Case in point. In 8 years of Bill Clinton, he cut the military and intelligence agencies in half. As a result, we were attacked on American soil for the first time since Pearl Harbor, and the first time on the mainland. You keep thinking we need to not have a strong national defense, and I assure you, the Taliban, Al Quada and any other terrorist organization, will truly applaud your efforts. And it will weaken this country. However, if we stop the madness of handout after handout after handout, punishing the working by taking from them and giving to the people who have 90 percent made a conscience decision not to work, we might get somewhere. Stop the insanity of giving money to Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Iran, even the filthy rich Saudi’s get money from us. It is utter insanity. Its not defense spending that is killing us, its much, much more than that. Are you aware of how many billions we spend on pensions for people that served a term in congress? They voted this for themselves. Yes, there are many other places to look than to point the finger at defense.

          • DaveH

It’s both. The Military Statists and the Welfare Statists are bleeding us dry.

          • DaveH

And both are immoral. Killing people that have not attacked our country is immoral, and letting people ride on the backs of unwilling carriers is immoral.

      • come-and-take-it

Right on Warrior. War is very effective population control. When there get to be too many sheep, you shear some and kill others. Boznia anyone?

        • DaveH

They’re not that dumb. If they kill us, they kill their gravy train. So, they take their aggression overseas for new empires to plunder.

      • JeffH

        Warrior, no doubt about it.

The muslims have 30 to 70 children, per family. We are supporting all their kids, in this country! Add the mexicans at ten kids per family, plus all their extended family. Then, we have the blacks, with their 10 to 12 kids per woman, and they start their daughter out at 12 years of age…. No wonder our population has increase in this country with minorities far out numbering Whites! And, we pay all their bills with our tax dollars! Are we insane!

        • Kate8

professor – At least it would seem that those in control are.

          Criminally and diabolically insane.

        • Christin

          Your numbers are way off.
Muslims have on average 8 children per family.
Americans have about 2.13 children per family; and
Hispanics have about 2.89 children on average per family.

A society of people must have 3 children per family to survive.

          • professor

Christin, I deal with many of these different kinds of people and I know how many children they have…

          • Christin

Thank God, FDR retreated from his earlier appeasement and isolationist positions and took this nation to war to help defeat the Nazis, the Fascists in Italy, and the militarist-fascist in Japan. Imagine a world dominated by those horrible regimes.

      • eddie47d

Apparently that is what SC wanted in her mixed up diatribe. It was hard to tell what side she was on in WWII. I’ve always said we should get out of the Middle East and had no business getting involved in Libya. Even if there is victory in Libya(which looks closer) we were deceived when we got involved in that conflict. No different than our involvement in Iraq and the brutal sectarian violence is still continuing. The question on where is the anti-war protesters? Most have chosen to expose these wars by way of the Internet not street protests. Isn’t the Internet wonderful! Also remember it was and still is the Right that is clamouring for war with Iran so where are their anti-war spoke persons?

        • come-and-take-it

Control of the world’s oil supply by the pompous elite is not a thing to be triffled with. We should all be willing to commit our lives and our childrens lives to their having enough fuel to power their yacht. The US military is in 130 countries world wide. If we leave Afghanistan it will only be in 129. Lovely. Big cost saving. Only trouble is the defense industry will no longer have a safe place to dispose of weapons or a government that wants to buy them. Oh my, what about the profits?

        • http://donthaveone Beberoni

No eddie. It is the Right that recognizes the danger Iran poses to the United States. It is the left that wants to sit down and have a spot of tea with them, and tell them how nice we are and tell them to play nice with us, instead of slapping them across the face and telling them to knock it off. Until you understand that this is the only language they understand, you wont get anywhere eddie. You still want to blame the right and call them war mongers, I know your type. Yet your guy comes in, starts an illegal war without congressional approval, escalates another one that he promise to end, and your ok with that? Really? How convenient eddie. How stinking convenient. I myself dont like war, and I truly wish it would never happen. But it does, and it will, and there is never peace achieved since the beginning of time of man, without force. Thats just how it is eddie. And be advised eddie my man, that if your not prepared to fight, there is someone else who is, and they will glady war upon you and take what you have. So you better be prepared to fight to keep what you have, or you wont have it long. That my friend, you can take to the bank. Like it or not, the truth is the truth is the truth, and you cannot warp it or change it. The truth is the truth.

          • eddie47d

So you are saying we should have war with Iran in order to achieve peace? The subject of Iran has been brought up on occasion and there are always a few so say we should either attack them or to let Israel do it. That would of coarse also involve us. Who are the ones saying they want war in Iran -conservatives. A fact is a fact is a fact Beberoni and those who beat the war drums usually get what they want.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

If that is what they keep demanding, then yes, smack them down. They fund the terrorist attacks, they have vowed to kill us, and not to stop until they kill us, and that they will die trying to kill us. So let me ask you this. Do you propose to just sit and shake and hope the little guy doesnt come beating up on the big guy? Do you think mere talk can change their minds? If so, then you dont know what your dealing with. When your dealing with a mindset of people, who actually think that God will bless them for strapping a bomb on themselves, and walking into a mall of people they have never met before, and blow up everyone, then your dealing with something that doesnt comprehend any kind of sanity my friend. So color me stupid if you like, but I dont feel like its the safest thing to just sit on our hands and wait for them to get all the tech they need to start launching missiles on us. Oh, and I guarantee you, if they had what we have, we wouldnt be here today. You can bank that. Just as in sports, the best defense is a good offense and the best offense is a good defense.

The fact is that after fighting that costly war (both monetarily and in human lives), we turned the victim countries taken from one dictator (Hitler) over to another dictator (Stalin). Great accomplishment. We Saved the World. Yeah, right.

        • mark

You’re being disengenuous DaveH, “we turned the victim countries taken from one dictator (Hitler) over to another dictator (Stalin). Great accomplishment.” This is not true. Hitler took over France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Norway, Denmark, Greece, and Italy (with his 1943-5 military occupation there). After the Anglo-Americans liberated these nations they WERE NOT turned over to Stalin. Democratic pro-American governments emerged in all these countries that later joined NATO. The Red Army – and not the Anglo-American forces – drove the German Army out of Poland, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Eastern Germany, and Austria. The Soviets occupied these territories and imposed their brutal dictatorship on them (the Soviets withdrew from Austria in 1955 allowing it to become a democracy though a neutral one). The United States DID NOT TURN THESE NATIONS OVER TO STALIN because the United States never occupied these countries in the first place – the very formidable Red Army did. The only way to drive the Red Army out of these nations would have been to have a war with the Soviet Union which neither the American people nor leaders wanted at that point. Yugoslavia largely liberated itself from the Nazis and therefore imposed its own unique socialist authoritarian gov’t there that remained neutral from both the Soviets and the Americans in the subsequent Cold War. I’m surprised you know so little about the ending of World War Two. The Anglo-Americans in effect liberated only half of Europe, the half where they drove out the Germans. We had little say about the half where the Red Army did all the fighting which Stalin wanted (unjustly from a human rights point of view but very justly from a strategic perspective) as a buffer zone against the West and against any future invasions of his country.

          • professor

Regardless how you spin this, Mark, the U.S. military freed Europe from the clutches of the Nazis. American soldiers were hailed as “Heroes” by the people of many countries. The price was American blood flowing from the Anglo-Americans (Wondering what your repeated reference to,. “Anglo-Americans.” means. There were many nationalities in the U.S.military).

        • DaveH

No, Mark, you are being “disengenuous” (did you mean disingenuous?).
We got involved in a war losing over 400,000 American lives (not to mention the immense monetary costs) to save the world from Hitler, but then allowed Stalin to take over those countries. What do you not get about the fact that we were supposedly saving these countries from a dictator then allowed without a fight for them to be taken over by another dictator?

          • mark

We had no declaration of war against the Soviet Union therefore no right to attack them. We did have a declaration against Nazi Germany, fascist Italy, and militarist-fascist Japan. Japan if you remember, Dave, attacked us first. Germany and Italy also declared war on us first four days later after which we responded by declaring war on them in a completely Constitution fashion. We in fact were allies with the Soviet Union without which we would not have been able to defeat the Germans so relatively quickly and cheaply. Remember the Soviets suffered 27 million dead in WWII, not 400,000. They desperatedly felt they needed control of Eastern Europe as a buffer zone against any future invasions of their nation as took place on June 21, 1941. That is no excuse for the cruel dictatorship they enforced on the people of Eastern Europe but the only way the United States could have freed Eastern Europe was to go to war with the Soviets which Americans had no stomach for after the bloodletting of WWII. Such a war became especially unthinkable after August 1949 when the Soviets had the bomb. Another great complicating fact was that the Hitler-allied nations of Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania actually declared war against the United States during World War II. Most Americans had little sympathy for these nations since their governments were allies of the Nazis and declared war on us. This was not the case with Poland and Czechoslovakia.

Obama’s mentor, FDR, through prior knowledge, could have prevented the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. But instead decided to sacrifice the lives of 3,000 military and civilian individuals in order to convince the US isolationist populace that yet another world war was required too spite the axis powers whilst our country was still reeling from the first one.

            Can we expect a replay?

          • DaveH

“We had no declaration of war against the Soviet Union”?
We had no declaration of war against Germany either, until we declared war. That has nothing to do with my statement. You’re grasping for straws.
You’re talking technicalities, Mark. I’m talking Principles. We had no business interfering at all unless we actually had a Principled Goal, which obviously we didn’t or we wouldn’t have let the Soviet’s take over in those countries.
You can double-speak all you want, Mark, it doesn’t change the fact those victim countries had to suffer under the hands of the Soviets as a result of our politics.

So you say that people sided with Hitler instead of Stalin?

Yes of course they did. They knew the stories of Stalins murderous control of the Russian people.
Better to side with Hitler than the monster we allied ourselves with.
Hitler was a monster for sure.
            But he was actually”civilized”in comparison to Stalin.Did I say that?Yes I did.
Comrade Stalin was nobody to ally with.
Especially if you considered yourself a freedom loving nation. But then FDR wasnt exactly a freedom loving capitalist was he?Not by a longshot.I wonder if somehow Churchill(in the back of his consciousness)hated FDR,more than he hated Stalin?
In photos with the three of them together, you can see his disgust. He couldnt hide his contempt, photographically at least. How do you side with one great monster in order to defeat two lesser ones? And the idea of creating an even greater one when it was all said and done?
Yes the vaccum created by the removal of imperial Japan from Sino-Asia,was filled with Mao and his disciples. Many more millions would die before the settlements to”peaceful prosperity”,were attained.
But this kind of thing is overlooked by those who wish you to see that which they would have you see.
The leftist ideaology is that what is necessary must be done for the order which is attained from it.
To build a monster…a Frankenstein of sorts, and deal with its murderous ways later seems to have been the flavor of the 20th century.
Now that colossus threatens to pull our very economies out from under us.They have capitalistic intentions in that, they are going to capitalize on our need for greed, and bury us under it.
All this is hindsight….as might be our great nation if we refuse to take the correct path and stand together. The things which we argue about are not the path to getting that done.
Some want to ally themselves with the Frankenstein which was created after world war 2.Others do not.I happen to fall in the latter category.I do not feel thhe need to be sybiotically joined to a monster. Those of you who think that is wise are entitled to your opine. But I simply reject that the flavor of the day is how to run a foreign policy.
Look into the future and see if you can imagine indentured slavery for your descendants.Because that is what you are asking for.You might possibly already have that here, but not to the degree which it might occur.
            Make the call.
Are you all in with China?
Might seem like the safe bet now.but what happens when they call your bluff?
You go home to nothing with a losing hand.

This post is to “Thinking About”. Are you aware that when Bill Clinton was president, that the United Nations went through Iraq, and had a very long and detailed list, of all the weapons of mass destruction that Saddam Hussein had, and they inventoried all of them. Pages of them. Yet when we went in, and they knew we were coming in, they almost all disappeared. Yes they did find some, but the press tried to hide it. But you say Bush lied? How convenient of you. You do know, that before Bush was even a CANDIDATE for the presidency, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, and many more prominent democrats, stood there on national TV live, and even more live on the radio, and the all decried how “SADDAM HUSSEIN IS DANGEROUS AND HAS WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION AND HAS TO BE STOPPED”. Oh yes they did. I watched them with my own eyes and heard them with my own ears. And Im sure you did also, but it always seems the liberal lefties have selective remembrances of such things. But check it out, its all there. Oh, and also, huh, seems the democrats all voted to go to war also. Gee, imagine that. But of course, Bush lied and made it all up because it was a war for oil. Wow, whatever happened to that rant the liberal media was on. Huh, just another in their long list of lies. Please feel free to one day, join the human race. Unbelievable.

With Veterans benefit cuts being discussed by the likes of Bachman and Cloburn etc to mention a few, the DC warlords better think twice before they start beatings their chests. Hell they are wanting to renegotiate career Vets pensions. Talk about a kick in the ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe all congressman or senators should serve a combat deployment for 6 months this might help these people see the aftermath of their decisions. Being a Viet Nam vet I know the full effect of a country that turns its backs on the need of its veterans and I will take this hatred and disgust to my grave with me. If the USA can’t take care of its’s veterans then we should never create anymore. This group of O’ nitwit war lovers are even the lowest of the low. Another Vietnam Vet, right back at you. However, they won’t have to reduce your benefits. Come next Spring when all that money from the QE’s comes back as inflation (yes Virginia, inflation occus roughly one year after the increase in the money supply) your benefits will get cut by the dollar not buying anything and the government cutting back on the few services they still supply our veterans. It is not in the “banksters” interestes for the government to keep their promises. We just cost them money. Ban the FED!!!!

      • eddie47d

Where do you get the idea that supporters of Obama are war lovers? Some may be but I believe most are not. What I hear from other sources on the net those on the left are disgusted with any war policies including our being in Libya. Wars are started by the elites and we the soldiers are dragged into them. That hasn’t changed since the beginning of time. So should the left and the right stand together on this issue and force the government/military industrial complex to stop these continued conflicts or should we just sit back and blame each other?

        • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Because just like LBJ, the democrats are deeply wired into big business, although they constantly lie and try to convince the uneducated that the Republicans are the rich guys, which is another lie, and they escalate wars and make money with their big business supporters who profit largely from war. LBJ made a mint. Obama and his admin have the same idea. You can deny it all you want, but didnt he say he was going to cut and run? And didnt he instead send 10,000 more guys over there, then start yet another war? Figure it out man. Its not that hard.

      • Skyknight

I also am a Vietnam Vet with two tours of killing Commies and I’m good at it. One thing that the left really fears with the Tea Party being able to orginize the way they have is, that if they push their Communist agenda too far too fast, that same group will take up arms and forceable remove them from our government permantly.

A direct result of years and years of war, is a well trained Army like us, all across America quietly waiting to be called back to action. This is why Obama has included funding included in the Healthcare bill that provides him the means to raise a 60,000 man army to not only fight us, but funded by us.

      • sylviam

First let this Wife of a Viet Nam Vet. say THANK YOU BOTH for your service. ans THANK YOU BOTH for telling the world the HONEST TRUTH, whether they like it or not. I have been trying to tell them for Years but to NO AVAIL.
I had “two BROTHERS and TWO HUSBANDS” in that war Thank God they all survived. One HUSBAND at a rime that is. But We lost Cusins, Nephews, and Uncles there. Dirty Baby diapers was thrown at My Husband and even called bad names to Boot, when he came home. They did not know he was injured and almost died “three” different times after 2 1/2 tours later. Well, with the Military Industrial Complex, you can be sure of WWIII to begin. If Iran is attacked, most likely, they will take control of the OIL in the region. The Straits of Hormuz, is right at Iran’s grasp, so, will 90% of the world’s oil end up being in their control? So, Stay tuned for another exciting adventure in the middle-east.

    • professor

Any reasonable person would believe that the States should start drilling, and become energy independent! It is a treasonous act to deny Americans use of their own oil, and make them remain dependant on these barbaric, war-mongering muslims. It threatens our country like no other decisions that has ever been made!

The next most dangerous and treasonous act, by this administration, is to make deep cuts in the funding of our military forces, thus our ability to defend ourselves. As the world grows more dangerous, on a daily basis, cutting our military might, is like slashing our wrists and givng up the fight! The Constitutional duty of the government is to protect the country and its citizens from enemies, in and out of the country! At this point in time, our biggest enemies seem to be in Washington!

      • DaveH

The United States spends 6 times the amount on our military as does the next highest military spender, China, and we have only 1/4 the population size that China has.
And our troops are campaigning in countries around the world, all but one of whom haven’t attacked our country. We are the Aggressors. If any other country engaged in the actions our country engages in, our Government and many blindered followers would insist on going to war with that country.
Imagine trying to convince a court that you killed a man because you just knew that he was going to try to kill you someday? Ridiculous.
The War Mongers have no legs. It’s all about the enrichment of the military industrial complex (Northrop-Grumman, Lockheed, Boeing, etc.), and Empire Building for the aggrandizement of our Leaders.

And the citizens get stuck with the bill, both in monetary costs and in the lives and limbs of our good soldiers who are being used as cannon fodder for the enrichment of our Politicians and their Crony Capitalists.

We can pull their fangs and foil the new world order’s plans to rule the world by electing Dr. Ron Paul, future POTUS who is the only one saying bring our troops home.

This just might abort the planned WWlll, because when they no longer can use our troops and our money (which will escalate the national debt) to finance the bullying of other countries, I don’t think they can do it without the USA playing the game by their plans. We really have no cause in any of the wars we are now in and especially those started since our illegal alien usurper took charge. None of our troops deployed since he took charge are acting on legitimate orders.
We should all demand that they be brought home immediately and end our involvement in those wars.

        • professor

America is NOT the aggressors! We have shed blood and treasure to try to bring freedom to many other countries, and we fight tyranny around the world! If things do not work as planned, there is a limit to what we can sacrifice. The fact that we try speaks volumes about the American spirit!

We do not plunder or occupy, or take treasure from those countries we help. True Americans believe in the “exceptionalism,” of this country and the good that it does for many Nations. We are the first to help in any disaster or when there is an injustice. You libs like to denigrate our military, our country, and keep the spin going that Americans are evil! Let me tell you that AMERICANS are EXCEPTIONAL! We are a Christian country that believes in justice and our soldiers should be held-up as heroes! True Americans you are not!

Dave needs to start worrying when he agree with Mark!

Hey Professor, if the government forces us to buy offshore oil, the oil in the CONUS will last longer and who cares if our kids have to pay for foreign oil with their lives, it costs less at the pump. Worry not, the “banksters” kids don’t join the military, they drive Porsches for less. Besides, have you SEEN any cuts in military spending or are you just listening to political theater again? Control of world oil is our goal, freedom is our strategy. In the name of freedom, our government can go into any country in the world, start a war and replace the leader and control the oil. Can you spell LIBYA? IRAQ? SYRIA? IRAN?

        • professor

First of all, there have been major cuts in our military, already…with more to come! The muslim and his regime hate our military. They know that the military families tend to be patriots and vote Republican! Our military families are not supporters of the muslim and his goons! Plans are to replace our U.S. military with a personal army…a civilian army… answerable only to the muslim. In fact, it has already been funded!

It is treasonous for this administration to keep us oil-dependant on the barbaric, war-mongering muslims for our oil! This country needs to drill our vast own oil reserves, that are larger than those of Saudi Arabia. In five years we would be energy-independent. We would need nothing from the Middle East! We could actually define our enemies, instead of pretending they are friends! I think you misread my comment!

Hind sight being 20/20, I now see that the wars in the ME are being fought to remove those leaders that are not marching in lockstep with the NWO plans of world domination. While the dictators being removed feel they own the land, the people as well as the natural resources and will not be convinced to peacefully relinquish their holdings to the elite conquerers, the malleable prost-liticians they are being replaced with can be purchased cheaply and will become sickeningly compliant to their masters wishes.

You could be right Dave H. and hopefully Mark will see this and give us a clarified answer.I can’t speak for Mark yet I believe he meant that wars should be thought out and precisely executed to avoid the most casualties. Then brought to a quick conclusion as occurred in the Balkan conflict. Then only 3 Americans died and none in combat.Unfortunetly no matter what war we are involved in we end up spending years in nation building at billions in cost.

Do you honestly believe that the western alliance forces are in the middle east is for humanitarian purposes? Come on mark, you’re not that naive, are you? If history teaches us anything, is that, with respect to human nature, history is one repeatable, and verifiable confirmation of what is man. And that is; man is greedy, a control freak, and hopelessly corrupt! With respect to the middle east, you are witnessing what generations previous to the present generation have witnessed. The insane, and idiotic attempt at world domination, fuelled off-course, by the same insane greed, and the all consuming lust for power! Man has not changed one iota since the fall. He is still the degenerate he always was. But lo and behold, perhaps trans-huminism, and tans-genetics will change all that. God help us all!

    • professor

It is very possible that the Middle Eastern leaders are being taken out because they would fight the One World Government! Strong individuals, dictators that want to keep their land and their power, will not be tolerated by the “ruling elites.”

America is being taken-down because of the same reason. We want to remain our own country! America is in the way, the greatest obstacle to the NWO. So, it is not far-fetched to believe that uncooperative dictators would be systematically eliminated.

      • JeffH

professor, pretty close to correct I’d say. One common group keeps “championing and leading” the charge for democracy in the middle east countries…The Muslim Brotherhood, one of Obama’s favorites and a group that has infiltrated the administraion by appointments from Obama. Remember, it was Obama who has endorsed the Muslim Brotherhood in the takeover of Egypt as well as Lybia.

Here in the US, the Muslim Brotherhood networks through a variety of Muslim/Islamic organizations. Organizations like the Muslim American Society (MAS), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and others are – according to a document captured in a raid and released by law enforcement in 2007 during the Holy Land Foundation Hamas funding trial) are all Muslim Brotherhood-linked organizations.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s mission in the U.S. is “a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ it’s miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions. This according to Pamela Geller, of and co-author of The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War on America.

It was Obama who chose Ingrid Mattson, president of ISNA to offer a prayer at the National Cathedral during inaugural festivities on January 20, 2009. INSA has addmitted ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. Mattson was also appointed to a leadership role on the White House Council on Women and Girls, which is dedicated to “advancing women’s leadership in all communities and sectors – up to the U.S. presidency – by filling the leadership pipeline with a richly diverse, critical mass of women.”

In 2009, Obama appointed a Muslim, Kareem Shora, to the Homeland Security Advisory Council. Shora had been executive director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, a group that had generally opposed anti-terror efforts since 9/11.

Obama’s appointed another Muslim, Arif Alikhan, to be Assistant Secretary for Policy Development at the Department of Homeland Security. Alikhan is affiliated with the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), which is another highly deceptive Muslim Brotherhood-linked group. What Obama semmed to ignore when he appointed Alikhan, or didn’t care, was that Alikhan, as deputy mayor of Los Angeles(who has referred to the jihad terrorist group Hizballah as a “liberation movement”) had blocked an effort by the Los Angeles Police Department to gather information about the ethnic makeup of area mosques.

Where’s the gold? I would bet the elites have it stashed away in a safe place to barter when things go Hollywood. Stimulus? Wonder how much was stolen and put in foreign bank accounts for later use at our expense. Evil envelopes the world as we struggle to maintain our existence. War is coming no doubt and we must be prepared for it by stocking food and water. Don’t forget the ammo!

  • Carlucci

Great article. Please forward to your email list. Maybe if everyone will start to wake up, they will no longer readily agree to send their kids overseas to become cannon fodder.

I am so sick of hearing that these young soldiers are “fighting for our freedom”. That makes absolutely no sense. If they really were doing that, wouldn’t their boots be on the ground HERE, protecting their home turf, versus being shipped thousands of miles away to further the military industrial complex?

      Great post and well said.
BTW, how are things going? We filled our new reserve wate tank over the weekend…300gals. The heat has gone down a bit and we have had several inches(4-6) of badley need rain. We also bought a new dehydrator and have started a new stock pile of food.
      I hope all is well.

      Mr. Carlucci:

      “fighting for our freedoms”

Like you, I am so sick & tired of hearing this worn-out, trite, over-used pathetic cliché that I want to puke when I see it. This perfected form of Orwellian doublespeak is, of course, most commonly uttered by those biggest supporters of the M.I.C., better known as the “neo-cons”. These vaunted members of the parasitical-political class love to use this mind-numbing form of double-talk to provoke the animalistic emotions of national patriotism by ignorant & mindless Americans (patriots?). Why? — well, to insure that their favorite wars continue to go on, and on, and on, of course. Nothing makes a neo-con happier than to see the proletariat masses chanting in unison their high-minded love of the good-ole U.S. military.

And I’m sure if we travel back in our time machine to the 1930’s we would witness the exact same circumstances arising in Nazi Germany.

      Sweet dreams Grosse Pointe.

Folks, Call your congress persons and ask if they are going to vote yes on {HR 645,} if they say yes then you know they are members of the NWO.
Ron Paul has tried to expose this unholy new law of the land that the NWO clan has cooked up and yet the press has said not word one about it don’t you question why?
READ the bill and understand what it means to you.

If you don’t wake up VERY soon, when you do wake up it will be way to late, you have little time left. What you see going on all over the middle east will be at your door step.
But here you will find it the end of your life journey, red / blue yellow / pink /. Wake up Americans it is happening here and no its not a joke. lay down your arrogance lay down your ignorance.

    • DaveH

There have been many blindered commenters who have vehemently denied that there was any truth to the FEMA camp stories, yet here it is:

    • DaveH

Apparently that bill is dead and gone now, because they have a new bill with the same number (I hate how they do that, probably to cover their tracks):

      • JeffH

DaveH, actually HR645 is dead in committee. This bill never became law. This bill was proposed in a previous session of Congress. Sessions of Congress last two years, and at the end of each session all proposed bills and resolutions that haven’t passed are cleared from the books. Members often reintroduce bills that did not come up for debate under a new number in the next session.

There was a similar bill, S.3476, that was referred to the Committee on Armed Services in 6/2010. Again, there has been no further action taken on it.

But all of that said doesn’t mean similar legislation won’t pop up again and again.

  • peter

What we possibly are forgetting is that these and all future wars are of immense importance to the economy of the USA. Selling arms to the opposition and then assisting them to rebuild after the carnage is what made the USA economy so large. The problem is that, so much damage can be done and not be undoeable. If that is the plan, so be it. Obama and his bosses seem to be on that track so they must have known the plan. The fact that the world’s economy is so precarious has simply hastened the plan along and the least concerned are Obama and his masters. This is what was planned all along, so get used to it. We are all in huge trouble, the world over and the elites and their puppets are simply planning to come out on top again at the expense of the plebiscites (us????). No wonder Obama cannot stop smirking – he knows that the grand plan is coming together and he is part of the cream at the top. No return from here folks – wherever you are and wherever you plan to go, journey well and good luck.

Our involvement in the countries of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq have cost many lives and is a useless endeavor. Who in their right mind would think democracy as we know it could ever exist there? The only countries that we should be involved with are Israel and of economic interest to us. Looking at the middle east, Israel is our only true ally.
What I see happening in this country is a deliberate attempt by the progressives and the elite to destroy the middle class. If you listen to Obama, he talks about protecting the middle class but is doing the very things to destroy it. Socialists have no middle class; there are the elite and the have nots.
If you look at this administration which is comprised of Socialists in most every department of the cabinet, appointees and 50 in Congress, it is fairly evident that their desire is not Capitalism but Socialism and to be part of the new world order.

Only one thing will save us! That is a revolution like in Libya. The time is now and if not we are doomed. There is no other way, and to think there is is just plain ignorant.

I don’t like violence anymore than the rest of you, but we are at that point and do not think it can be stopped. So you can either help the rebels, or go hide in the basement or somewhere you deem safe. Hiding, will evenutally get you killed, as you are found, and not helping the cause.

My opinion is that the majority of Americans love this stage show, and do not care of the outcome. Thats the way it is, we will adjust.

    • mark

No, we DON’T NEED a revolution like in Libya. That is the last thing we need. Instead we will have a national election next year. That is how we deal with political and economic crisis in America. Let the people decide.

      • TheRealBob

We just have more proof, if it was ever needed, that the left’s support and protests are all astroturf events in which their protestors either have to be paid or threatened to show up where they are told. We are getting more casualties now than ever and involved in not only many more wars than during their non-stop protest years, but are planning more while advocating regime change and coups throughout the region, and not a peep from the oh so previously vocal leftist, hard core war protestors. They have even seemed to have completely forgotten about Guantanamo, rendition and debating the legality of water boarding, or maybe they are just being quiet in hopes that DHS and Mr. Napolitano won’t mistake them for that lone ” white” wolf we’ve been hearing so much about.

    • eddie47d

I believe you are off base bob jones. Mass protests are hard to coordinate and are exhausting. Whether it is the Right or the Left protesting. Everyone is more worried about their jobs and what’s in their bank account than spending money on protests that don’t always work. Water boarding was deemed a form of torture and exposed awhile back so why keep bring it up. I do agree there are a few lone wolfs out there ready to do their dirty deeds. If you read or listen to the news these lone wolfs are very much out there and active. Their deeds are looked at as local crimes and few in other parts of the country know about them. The Sovereign Nation has a few lone wolf members who have committed “crimes” which were really acts of rebellion.

      • Dennis48e

” Mass protests are hard to coordinate and are exhausting.”

They would be no more difficult to organize than the flash mobs that occur with some regularity these days.

Libya no has the highest standard of living in the whole continent of Africa. Last year Moammar Gadafi released news about creating a new denar. Coins made of gold and silver. He also reiterated that he would later demand gold and silver for the countries oil exports. Libya has little to no debt. The total debt is equivilent to about 1 months gdp. Libya has no central bank ( No Federal Reserve ) and does not pay interest to any bank for creating money…. Libya exports about 3 million barells of oil per day. The money that has been frozen ( stolen ) from Gadafi in foreign accounts all over the world was also Libyan government investments to help continue to pay for free health and welfare for the Libyan people. It was also for the further improvements for infrustructer and other to help the Libyan people. The civil unrest and rebellion uprising is mostly from a small group ( about 1,000 in a country of over 5 million ) of militant muslim brotherhood who have been recruited locally and from abroad, organized and funded by U.S. CIA. Gadafi is a dictator. However the overwhelming majority in Libya agree and side with Gadafi. Most in Libya would agree that he’s not the bad guy the media portrays him to be and would agree that he actually cares much about the Libyan peoples’ wellbeing. For the most part, everything over in Libya was fine until we started bombing the crap out of them and deamanizing them in the name of freedom. For demacracy? For the freedom loving muslim brotherhood rebels that the MSM shows nightly to the public on tv? Over 5 million people live in that country and about 1,000 rebels are shown on tv and it’s made out to be a national revolution so we send in the battleships and start bombing the crap out of em. Think about it —- No federal reserve bank? No debt? No interest on the countries’ money? No IRS ? Talk of gold and silver coins? Talk about demanding gold and silver for oil? Lots of oil. Why does the U.S.A. bomb Libya?

    • eddie47d

Gaddafi’s is a chameleon and you never know which way the wind will blow. Saddam was the same way although Gaddafi actually did accomplish allot for his people as you stated Truthseeker. Yet like most Middle Eastern countries the leaders refuse to give up power and censor much of what the people desire. Only the leaders in the Middle East are part of the world and the citizens are kept from knowing. Thus they all stay entrenched in the Middle Ages to control the people.

The people of some Nations are not candidates for a Democracy!

There are things required of “a people” before they can have liberty and freedom. First and foremost, they must NOT have a religion that totally governs their lives. When a religion takes on the “mantle of government,” and rules with religious laws, it is not compatible with a Democracy! It doesn’t work, here, either. Our Republic is not compatible with the Sharia law that muslims are fighting to bring to our country. Why should it work the other way.
What are we doing, we need to bring our soldiers home and quit spilling American blood in the sands of the Middle East…for naught!

        • Nadzieja Batki

Professor, Democracies are forms of man made religions, picking and choosing what will be believed and followed. Man made Theocracies which exist in the Middle East or Africa have the same tenets as any European Democracies.

          • professor

Our Republic form of government is NOT a Religion..

The only religion (cult) that is a government is Islam.

Truthseeker? “For the most part, everything over in Libya was fine until we started bombing the crap out of them and deamanizing them in the name of freedom.” ???!!!! Wow, what a whopper! Only to be topped by this: “The civil unrest and rebellion uprising is mostly from a small group ( about 1,000 in a country of over 5 million ) of militant muslim brotherhood who have been recruited locally and from abroad, organized and funded by U.S. CIA.” Wow, are you working a a publicist for the Gaddafi government? Truthseeker, you sound a lot to me like Baghdad Bob, Saddam Hussein’s media spokesman who kept saying the regime was winnnig the war right up until U.S. tanks were firing on him and he had to flee. If only 1,000 fighters are battling Gaddafi he must have the world’s worse army. And what were the tens of thousands of Libyans in Benghazi, Tobruk, Derna, Sirque, etc celebrating and dancing about last night? A Gaddafi victory?

      • Truthseeker

Mark, Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m in no way a Gadafi supporter! I certainly don’t approve of all he has done. He has much blood on his hands from his past. He is a dictator, but somewhat of a benevolent one he has become in the last few years to some extent. The 1,000 rebels were the begining and as with any fire, if given enough heat and fuel and oxygen will burn out of control. So we’ll see if the country is better off with the new regime to be inserted soon or not. With U.S. money and organization just about any small 3rd world country can be brought down. Same goes with the pressure on Syria, Pakistan, and Iran. I don’t have any affection for these countries and I know they have oil and other strategic influence. However, I don’t believe we should have gone into Libya like we did and bomb them. Under our U.S. Constitution, we have NO business attacking a nuetral country. Also, I don’t approve of the pres. doing all of this WITHOUT CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL!!!! None of this so-called rebel upriseing would have happened without CIA involvement and support. The fact is, you could foment an uprising in many small countries with the power and support that the U.S. has. But that will only happen in countries not subjecting themselves to NWO control. Any country that tries to be free from the NWO and their central banks will forever be labeled evil countries in the media. It may be true that those countries also treat their people terrible, and there may be much suffering. The truth is that if we invade and bomb countries to stop the suffering of the masses, then why haven’t we stopped the suffering in the congo and other areas of the world where there was no financial benefit? I believe we only bomb and attack those areas where there is some financial benefit to be had and commodities to be controlled and taken. And tell me Mark, who gets to keep all of the BILLIONS of dollars that were so called Gadafi’s money? And you can bet that the new Lybian administration will adopt a central bank!

        • eddie47d

You are correct Truthseeker and so was Mark. All revolutions have to come from within yet too many have become like crackerjack boxes. Never knowing what the prize will be. Look at Zimbabwe and how Robert Mugabe ruined that nation. There are not always good outcomes so we will see who gets the spoils of war in Libya.

This was a very unique “war” for the United States: zero U.S. dead; zero U.S. wounded; zero U.S. prisoners, zero U.S. boots on the ground. By most standards U.S. involvement in the Libyan war does not even qualify as a U.S. war in terms of American participation. (I doubt there will be any war memorials to celebrate the U.S. veterans of the Libyan War since there were virtually no “veterans” of this “war”) I was against the very limited U.S. participation in this civil conflict but my God if ONLY we could have more wars like this one! After the nightmares of Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan with U.S. deaths in the tens of thousands, U.S. wounded in the hundreds of thousands and U.S. cost (for all three aforementioned wars) in the trillions of dollars. I believe the entire U.S. military cost for five months operations in Libya was $1 billion what we have spent every single day for nine years running on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan!

It is way past time to pull out of the Middle east quagmire. Our troops can be better used policing our borders. This isn’t going to happen though because the maocrats will need a war to distract us from the economy in the election. Watch out all you mid-east sewer rats, maobama is going to have to sacrifice a few of you to get re-elected!

    • 45caliber

If we aren’t going to give our troops the support they need, then we should pull them out.

But I hate to see them pulled out simply because someone is tired of the war because I was pulled out of Vietnam. I had friends die there at my side because they felt that they were trying to keep a people free. And we were. If we had had the support we needed from Congress and the media, we could likely have still had a free South Vietnam – and possibly a free North Vietnam as well.

The soldiers get to know the people they are there to defend and want to help them. Then when some politician pulls them out because the “war costs too much”, they know that the friends who died to give those people freedom had their lives wasted – not because they were there but because the ones who pulled them out was willing to waste those lives due to money.

But to actually win and free those people, they need both emotional support and financial support. Congress is refusing to give them the financial support and the MSM is refusing to give them the emotional support. How can they win when they can’t even get the materials they need to live such as soap and shampoo? They can’t get the weapons or the equipment they need. And the MSM keeps telling the people here how terrible they are if some civilian is killed or injured.

Trust me, if there are a number of civilians standing around, allowing someone to shoot at people from behind them, they are NOT “innocent civilians”.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

No they are not innocent civilians. But did you notice how when Bush was president, all the press ever reported was when civilians were killed, to present to the American public what a bunch of war mongers the Republicans are. But now that Obama and his bunch of henchman are mismanaging things at every turn, we arent seeing that reporting anymore. Are you telling me no one is getting killed except bad guys? Come on man. The liberal press isnt reporting that, because they protect Obama and the democrat liberals and they have never had the truth in them to report the truth. Many things were going well over there, as I was in constant contact with guys right there in Falujah, and almost all of our mitary guys there were pissed off because none of this was being reported, only when collateral damage happened, which is like you say, they purported to be innocent civilians as they were hiding these terrorists behind them.

  • Bob C.

RON PAUL is the only guy even talking about pulling the troops out (even when it wasn’t popular)
if you think war is a viable, moral way to boost our economy, spending our kids futures away, while we kill people that have never even tried to attacked us, go with any other candidate, all are proposing the same old thing.(world domination)but if you see all this for what it is, more power for the state, and less for the individual, turning us all into pawns, while the president is turned into a king
, and don’t care for that much
    then vote

No Bob, we don’t live in “a totalitarian society under the sweet-sounding name of democracy.” This is sheer nonsense. We will have democratic elections next year in which the people can make their decisions. To imply that we today in America live in a totalitarian society is an insult to the millions of people who REALLY DID live under totalitarian societies in Nazi Germany, fascist Italy, and the communist regimes of the U.S.S.R., Mao’s China, Pol Pot’s Cambodia, etc. Tens of millions of innocents died under these tyrranies as you well know. These ludicrous exaggerations only inflame irrational fear and hatreds of elected leaders who can be peacefully unelected – and also endlessly criticized in our free society (something one could never do to Hitler, Stalin or Mao). I also don’t understand why you claim that the parasites are envious of the workers? If the parasites get everything for free as you claim, why are they envious? I do agree with many of your points on the giant U.S. war machine. But why don’t you mention the big news today the U.S. “war” in Libya is over with zero U.S. dead, zero U.S. wounded and zero U.S. boots on the ground. If only we could have more wars like this after the nightmares in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. Also U.S. forces have been drawn down from a high of 200,000 in Iraq to some 50,000 today with nearly 30,000 more to be withdrawn by late December. In Afghanistan the U.S. force structure is being drawn down from 100,000 troops to 70,000 troops this winter with more withdrawals next year in the pipeline. In the last budget deal both parties agreed to cut $350 billion in defense spending over the next several years. This is not enough but it is a start with more defense cuts coming in December when Congress must elimated $1.2 billion more in federal spending or automatic cuts kick in. I see the U.S. heading towards a defense drawdown not out of any desire by American leaders or the American people to chose peace but simply out of economic necessity.

    • Dennis48e

” But why don’t you mention the big news today the U.S. “war” in Libya is over with zero U.S. dead, zero U.S. wounded and zero U.S. boots on the ground.”

      And you know this how?

Given the US’s past track record in such situations we probably have a couple of hundred special forces on the ground in Lybia and if we have people on the ground there have most likely been casualtys.

    • DaveH

Mark says “But why don’t you mention the big news today the U.S. “war” in Libya is over with zero U.S. dead, zero U.S. wounded and zero U.S. boots on the ground”.
      It’s over?

I remember the quick defeat of Saddam Hussein by the US — 7 years ago. We’re still there aren’t we?

      • DaveH

Oh, but it’s okay with Mark if we just pick a side and bomb the crap out of a country killing many civilians in the process for some dubious outcome:
The truth is that we have no idea whether Libyans will be better off or worse off with the new regime.

        • mark

DaveH, you are right that is why the United States never should have gotten involved in the Libyan War. (95% of the bombing in this war was done by France and G.B. – NOT the United States – we mostly supplied logistical support after the first couple of weeks) But there is no denying that this was a very penny ante war effort from a financial and U.S. human cost perspective compared to the monstrous error of Iraq. That war was a human and financial catastrophe for the U.S. When that war turned very badly after the initial U.S. “victory,” the Bush administration had 140,000 boots on the ground with a mission to “nation-build.” in fact to “democracy build” there. Thank God the current administration has no such mission in Libya and no such massive U.S. ground presence there. They learned the lesson of Iraq on that score. There also will be no U.S. peacekeepers either. This is strictly an Anglo-French-Italian deal as Gates and Panneta have emphasized over and over again. There is no way that Obama will send any boots-on-the-ground to Libya with an election year in the offing. That is why he sent none earlier and even stopped all direct U.S. bombing after the first couple of weeks.

      • DaveH

And even if it does somehow come to good, it still doesn’t negate the fact that Obama’s actions were UnConstitutional. Even members of his own party want him impeached for his action:

        • mark

DaveH, Maybe, maybe not? I agree with you, U.S. involvement in the Libya war was dead wrong. But unConstitutional, I’m not so sure? In the first century and a half of our existence Congressional leaders recognized the right of the President in his role under the Constitution as commander-in-chief to use relative small military forces to respond quickly to short-term emergencies when the time required for a declaration of war would render him impotent to respond effectively. This was controversial at the time but many executives exercised that commander-in-chief right to use limited forces for limited goals. Numerous presidents for instance, landed small groups of Marines for skirmishes in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Pacific, etc. The idea of a President always requiring a Congressional Declaration of War first became an issue in Korea when Truman used hundreds of thousands of U.S ground troops in a definite war for a long period of time. Legislators saw this as very different and distinct from landing a few hundred Marines in a banana republic for a couple of months. This Congressional anger continued with the Vietnam, Iraq, and Afhan wars that also required hundreds of thousands of U.S. ground troops for long periods of times in conflicts that definitely qualified as wars. This was why the War Powers Act was enacted at the close of the montrously costly, divisive, and drawn-out Vietnam war. That act has the power of law but it is not a Constitutional Amendment (which I for one think it should be). Obama definitely violated the 1973 War Powers Act as did Bush I in Panama and the Gulf and Bush II in Iraq and Afghanistan, but whether he violated the Constitution with this particular type of military operation in which no U.S. ground forces were used and direct U.S. bombing ended very early in this 5 month war, I’m not so sure. Truman (Korea); LBJ and Nixon (Vietnam and Cambodia), Bush I (Gulf War); Bush II (Iraq and Afghanistan) clearly violated the Constitution. But Libya is a much tougher call. So by way were the Barbary Wars (in the exact same locations as some of the Libya War!) under Thomas Jefferson. He never got a declaration of war for that long dragged-out campaign in the early 1800s but it also did not involve a lot of U.S. ground forces. Lots of U.S. ground forces for a long period of time seems to the key distinction historically as to what constitutes a U.S. war vs. an “intervention,” i.e. usiing naval and air forces.

          • DaveH

Do you think drowning us in double-speak wins the argument, Mark?
The Constitution clearly states that the Congress has the power to declare wars, not the President.

Even the War Powers Resolution (which in itself is Unconstitutional because it purports to take away the decision of military action from future Congresses) states that the President can send U.S. armed forces into action abroad only by authorization of Congress or in case of “a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.”
Clearly, Libya didn’t meet that criteria.

          • eddie47d

You do remember when Reagan bombed Libya in 1986 and he thought he had the right to do so. He had his own little “Tonkin Gulf” charade going on with US war ships. They entered Libyan waters and provoked Gaddafi at that time. That was from 1981-1986. Reagan used a nightclub bombing in Germany for his acts of war or maybe Lockerbie. I think we have trigger happy Presidents. Once again Dave you and Mark are on the same side saying almost the same thing. You think if you keep beating up Mark that somehow invalidates his facts or visa versa. Work together to stop all these insane wars and start connecting the talking points. Then there will be a true force for Congress to reckon with.

          • mark

DaveH, of course only Congress has the right and the power to declare war. Every American knows this though few respect it, especially presidents. But does only Congress have the right and the power to authorize a small military operation that falls short of full-fledged war? Presidents throughout history landed Marines in Central America, the Caribbean, Asia (the infamous Boxer Rebellion intervention), Africa (Jefferson’s Barbary Wars) and never sought a declaration of war stating they did not consider these emergency interventions to be formal wars. Jefferson for instance stated he was punishing pirates. Often these conflicts were not against formally-established states – the Filipino insurgents for instance or various Indian nations. Not a single U.S. ground soldier participated in the Libyan war. This was the same with Reagan’s 1986 bombing of Libya. He did not consider this a war and therefore did not seek Congressional approval. Both his conservative allies in the Congress and his democratic opponents agreed with Reagan. It is also noteworthy how little a fuss Obama’s political opponents have made over Libya. The very low financial cost and zero U.S. casualties have to have played a part in this. Ditto for the lack of popular protests.

          • DaveH

You’re equivocating, Mark. First off, two wrongs don’t make a right. I don’t care how many past Presidents usurped their power. And second, you are making statements that I seriously doubt you can back up.
            Here is just one example:
I sure grow weary of proving your facts to be fabricated. Why don’t you research your own comments before you post them?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Actually Dave, after the defeat of the Germans and the Japanese and the Koreans, we are still there, after all these years, since the 40′s and 50′s. Still there. Were still in France where they treat us like dog dung. That is the military spending I would save, by getting us out of many of these countries where we are there only for political expediency. Bring those guys home, close those bases. Cancel our billion dollar giveaways to to these third world nations that want nothing more than to kill us. Stupid, stupid, stupid politicians. Thats what happens when you put a bunch of greedy momma’s boys lawyers in charge of things. They are so pompous and think so highly of themselves, that they have screwed the whole damn thing up, and they dont know what to do. Its time we did just as we did in 2008, and keep doing it, that if they dont do the job, vote them out, and try someone else. Stop the stupidity of electing no doers like McCain and Lugar and Kerry and Daschle and all these lifetime losers. Vote them out, they are only representing themselves.

    • professor

People that want to see the destruction of these United States are the only ones that want to see our military marginalized!

By all predictions, there will be World War III. Our enemies are arming themselves, international tensions are increasing, and Israel is being threatened…..and we are next in line to be attacked by, most likely, a combined military force from a multitude of countries.

It is hard to believe that anyone, let alone our government, would be in favor of decreasing our ability to defend this country! Only an insane government would agree to set up a “super committee of twelve,” to do the job of the Congress! Only an insane government would use “triggers” that go into effect if this super committee’s decisions are not confirmed! These “triggers” enable cuts in our military and cuts in Medicare…they are meant to hold this country “hostage” to the demands of an insane leader. Anyone that defends this kind of twisted political warfare must also be insane…

      • moonbeam

“and we are next in line to be attacked by, most likely, a combined military force from a multitude of countries.”

Agreed. The US government is a world bully attacking whom ever they will, particularly people of color, sending our sons and daughters to do their dirty work. When hearing of the lives being lost, I just shake my head and say “For what?”

Eventually every other nation in the world will have their bombs pointed in our direction, saying “Alright now, we’ve had enough of your bullying the world.” (((((ka BOOOOOOM))))

In a perfect world no president can go to war unless his own children go FIRST, headed straight to the front lines. It’s only fair. Put my kids in harms way, then the prez’s kids should be standing right beside them.

        • professor

Moonbeam, our military is all voluntary! If your children don’t want to fight, for this country, they shouldn’t join!

I believe in “American Exceptionalism!” We are not the “Great Satin!” If you don’t believe in this country, why stay? Go somewhere that you feel is better!

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

As it sits now, our country is well defended within. There are something like 240,000 registered hunters in Pennsylvania. Just as many in the Carolinas and Virginia. Many more throughout Georgia, Alabama, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wyoming, Montana, Texas, Washington, and all over, North and South and East and West. That is why Japan never considered attacking the mainland. They knew we had an armed populance. Let the democrats try to force gun control and come get the guns. I know I sure wouldnt want to be the dummy that knocks on some good old boys house in the backwoods of Alabama, and says gimme your guns. Truth is, they wouldnt even get to the door. Probably not even the driveway. Thats what Im saying. America loving folks, love America, and they are going to stay and fight for it. And I am one of them, thank you very much.

    • Bob Livingston

      Dear mark,

Obviously, our definitions of totalitarianism differ. Elections are worthless when the candidates presented us are two sides of the same coin. Fascists exist with a D beside their name and with a R beside their name.

I believe a government that, at gunpoint, steals between 37% and 50% of your labor to redistribute, is totalitarian. I believe a government that forces you to send your children to approved schools, then forces you to medicate your children in an approved way for the privilege of attending the government-approved school, is totalitarian. I believe a government that treats you as a potential terrorist and requires submission to a dose of radiation and/or an invasive groping for the privilege of moving from one city to the next is totalitarian. I believe a government that can take away your land because you don’t use it in a way that suits the elected elites or some faceless bureaucrat is totalitarian. I believe a government that can take away your children if you don’t raise them in a way the elected elites or some faceless bureaucrat approves is totalitarian. I believe a government that forces you to inoculate your children with medications that harm or kill them, all for the sake of enriching the pharmaceutical industry, is totalitarian. I believe a government that dictates what food you produce on your own land and what you do with the food you produce is totalitarian. I believe that a government that can deny you the ability to drink raw milk, or consume any other food you desire, is totalitarian. I believe a government that prohibits the distributors of whole foods from touting the scientifically-proven health benefits of those foods without submitting to an FDA anal exam, is totalitarian. I believe that a country that creates rules and regulations designed to drive small businesses to ruin so that large corporations can monopolize their chosen industries is fascist. I believe that a government that makes war on countries around the globe in order to steal their resources and install dictators friendly to the military-industrial complex is totalitarian.

I could go on, but I believe my case is made.

      Best wishes,

P.S. I’m going to ignore the ignorance of your comments on Libya.

      • mark

Our taxes are not collected at the point of a gun (though prison terms are enacted against those who grossly violate the laws). I have had some dealings with the IRS. Not one of their officials ever pulled a gun on me. All governments in the world tax their people and have since the beginning of time. Among advanced industrialized countries, we as Americans are among the least taxed. Just ask the Europeans and Canadians. As for the relative power of the government over the individual citizen, it is daunting, I agree; but we also have the power of redress in our courts. In many cases in the courts, the state loses to individuals over issues like child custody and eminent domain. Regulations that you find horrific a majority consider necessary for public safey and the the public’s health. Tough security measures at airport are a fact of life in the new world of terrorism.

        • 45caliber

Would you pay your taxes voluntarily if there was in fact “no gun” to force you to? Do you live where there is a volunteer fire department like I do?

You pay for their service or they don’t respond when your house burns down. They have a terrible time collecting any money for their work – because they do not have the threat of the gun to back up their collections. And when they don’t respond when a house burns, the owner then generally attempts to sue them for not responding.

I would be willing to bet that if there was “no threat of guns” you wouldn’t pay your taxes either. The threat is there – even if you never see them because you pay the taxes they insist you pay. Believe me, if they do arrest you for non-payment of taxes, the guns are present even if not pointed directly at you.

          • eddie47d

You made me dizzy on that one Caliber LOL. Whether a tax funded or volunteer fire department they will only serve the community they are assigned to unless asked by another department.Even then few cities can rely on a volunteer department and taxes are needed to keep them in the ready. Not all taxes come from the use of force but by public consensus, agreement or majority vote. No guns to the head! In wars (topic of day) few vocally complain about the taxes being used until months or years after the war started. There actually should be mass protests in the streets and letter writing campaigns to stop the wars before they begin. After the shooting starts even fewer listen (citizens and Congress) to stop the tax hemorrhaging.

          • Jay

eddie, you completely missed 45′s point!

          • 45caliber

I don’t know about your area but here a volunteer fire department gets NO tax money at all. It all comes from people willing to pay them for their efforts. The money is then used to buy equipment and pay for training. The volunteers get NO money for their work.

To insure that they give good value for the money they were given and to encourage more to pay for the equipment, they do NOT respond to a house fire that is owned by someone who does not pay them. Those who pay have no problem with that since it prevents the equipment from being tied up if their house catches fire and the equipment isn’t messed up either. Those who don’t pay know that they are out on a limb, sawing it off behind them, if they don’t pay.

        • Jyrine

What, you and Guitner have the same problem?

      • mark

        Dear Bob,

But my main disagreement with you is that you imply that living in the U.S. today is like living in a totalitarian society. Please talk to some of those who actually lived under Stalin and Hitler. Of course you can’t with most because they were all gassed at Auchwitz or worked to death in the Gulag. There is just no comparison. The victims of Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot would consider the current United States to be a heaven on earth with all its taxes, regulations, and small infringements on personal liberty (like the new lightbulbs we are going to use). I repeat, to them America today would be absolute paradise after life under the Nazis and the Soviets. And comparing people like Obama and Lincoln to Hitler and Stalin is just historically ludicrous. While it is not a all historically ludicrous to compare Hitler to Stalin; for instance, they were equally monstrous with zero compensating qualities. This is why the vast majority of Americans don’t take extremist libertarians and conservative seriously. To conclude on your point about our foreign policy since 1945, I agree with you almost completely. We should avoid at all cost overeas military interventions. Most of them have been disasters for us and for the people we inflicted them on.

        Sincerely, Mark

        • Bob Livingston

          Dear mark,

          Whether your cage is 8 X 10 or 20 X 20, it is still a cage.

          Best wishes,

          • mark

But Bob, it’s not a cage at all if you have a free press, freedom of religion, a right to vote in a multi-party democracy, the right to free speech, to say whatever you want as you do on this blog, to support and give money to the candidates of your choice, to criticize any political leader or any of his policies provided you don’t call for violence against him. You also have the right to assembly and protest. You have the right to own a firearm, the right to trial by a jury of your peers, economic freedom to start your own business. You have all these rights in today’s America. In Cuba today you have NONE OF THESE RIGHTS. AS YOU WOULD HAVE NONE OF THESE IN RUSSIA FROM LENIN TO GORBACHEV. THAT IS WHY WE CALL CUBA AND THE SOVIET UNION TOTALITARIAN SOCIETIES something the United States is NOT! In fact the U.S. is the antithesis of a totalitarian society. If it weren’t your webapage would not exist and you WOULD BE IN A GOVERNMENT CAGE RIGHT NOW! But this is never going to happen because you live in America where we vigorously exercise our constitutional rights on a daily basis. Yes, you have every legitimate right to resent the tax rates you have to pay here and to support candidates who want to lower them and cut social programs. And yes, you every right to resent the business, environmental, and security regulations in our land and work for candidates to reduce or eliminate them. But you are NOT living in a totalitarian cage here in the U.S.A., please! By claiming so, you denigrate those who actually had to endure such tyrranny for real in numerous societies in history.

          • DaveH

You denigrate those of us who don’t like you forcing your way on us, Mark. Freedom does not mean as long as the rules are Okay with you, Mark. We don’t want people like you forcing your choices on the rest of us. You don’t know how best to run our lives, Mark. I know you think you do, but you don’t.
Imagine people using your logic: A rapist says — “Well, when I raped her it wasn’t nearly as bad as what Ted Bundy did to his victims”.
Or a thief says “I only stole $500. The Government steals thousands of dollars each year from taxpayers”.
Those kinds of invalid comparisons could be used to justify just about any bad behavior.

          • 45caliber

Saddly, mark, every one of those things you say makes us free has been infringed against by the government somewhere in greater or lesser part. So your example still means nothing.

          • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Note to mark: You have before brought up this thing, you called democracy. Let me inform you, just incase you dont know. We, here in these United States of America, are not a democracy. We are a Republic. Do you understand the difference? The chief characteristic and distinguishing feature of a democracy is : Rule by omnipotent majority. In a democracy, the individual, and and group of individuals composing any minority, have no protection against the unlimited power of the majority. A Republic, on the other hand, has a very different purpose and an entirely different form, or system, of government. Its purpose is to control the majority strictly, as well as all others among the people, primarily to protect the individuals God given, unalienable rights and therefore for the protection of the rights of the minority, of all minorities, and the liberties of people in general. The definition of a Republic is: a constitution – adopted by the people and changeable (from its original meaning) by them only by its amendment- with its powers divided between three separate branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. We are a Republic, not a democracy.

        • JeffH

mark – “small infringements”? Give government an inch and they’ll take a mile of our freedom.

Here are but a few frivolous infringement on our freedoms…

The government wants to tell parents how to raise their children and what those children can and canno eat.

The government is telling us how our children must be educated and what curriculum must be taught.

The government makes it illegal to drive a car unless the driver and passengers are buckled in.

The government forced banks to make mortgage loans to people who would not qualify for one under prudent lending standards.

The government requires people to buy official stamps for all documents to make them legal.

Forcing people to buy health insurance, and fining them if they don’t.

Forcing people to pay huge increases in costs for energy, to line the pockets of a few people in the name of saving the planet from something that many prominent scientists don’t even think exist.

Our freedom can be easily taken away

Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction”. We are on the threshold of that being a reality. If we don’t stop the loss of liberty, the next generation will not have freedom in the way the founding fathers wanted us to have freedom. We must stop it and hold on to the beliefs of our founding fathers, they really knew what they were talking about.

        • DaveH

It is Extremist Liberals like yourself, Mark, who are using Big Government to force yourselves on the rest of us. You are just a member of a very large gang of thugs who can’t understand why their victims are so upset when forced to do things they don’t want to do.

        • DaveH

It’s amazing to me how the Liberals, like Mark, can call those of us who cherish Liberty an Extremist.
Mark wants to manage my health care choices.
I want to manage my own. So, I’m an Extremist.
Mark wants to decide how to spend my money.
I want to choose how to spend my own money. So, I’m an Extremist.
Mark wants to decide who I can buy from and what I can contract to do.
I want to make my own decisions about what I can buy and what kind of contracts I can make with others. So, I’m an Extremist.

I’ve got a label for you, Mark. Twisted.

          • mark

You are making a lot of false statements, I don’t want you to do any of these things, DaveH. But when a majority in a democratically-elected legislature enacts a law, as citizens we are obligated to obey that law, until we can overturn it by supporting candidates who will vote against that law or modify that law. There are many things that we don’t necessarily like to do but have to for the common good. An extreme libertarian would say I don’t want to stop at a stop sign. There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that says I have to. I don’t feel like it. So I will not stop for stop signs anymore. Well, the problem with this is that stop signs are designed for the common good, the “general welfare” a principle stated right up front in the Constitution. Stop signs save driver and passanger lives, help facilitate safe and orderly traffic flow. But at the same time I have attended city council meeting where elected-officials and the public have debated the virtues of removing a stop sign at a particular site or installing a new one somewhere else. This is all part of the democratic process. And despite the fact that we live in a republic all the principle officials of that republic (except for the president) are democratically elected. So democracy, the rule of the majority, tempered by the Supreme Court’s oversight, informs a large part of our life like it or not. I am certainly not happy with many of the laws in force in the United States but I abide by them until I can change or terminate them through the legal process. Many libertarians (on this website for instance) also have a habit of exaggerating state tyrranny in the United States where American citizens actually enjoy remarkable amounts of individual freedom balanced of course with the legitimate concerns of the “general welfare” that the Framers (I don’t particularly care for most of them either) recognized.

          • Bob Livingston

            Dear mark,

Your stop sign analogy is a non sequitur, as even the Federal leviathan has not deigned to delve that far into state’s rights.

Your understanding (or should I say misunderstanding) of the general welfare clause is shocking.

And the libertarians on this site don’t exaggerate tyranny, as you claim, but recognize it for what it is, which you don’t.

            Best wishes,

          • 45caliber

Your stop sign analogy is wrong because it is a STATE LAW – not a Federal one. And that is covered under the 10th Amendment, not the welfare clause. The feds do not have any control of street law at all and it is one of the few things they don’t try to control.

          • DaveH

Mark, you say I’m making false statements. Which ones do you believe to be false?
Do you not support the Government involvement in the health care market?
Do you not support the Government helping themselves to my money as if it were there own?
Do you not support Government involvement in the Marketplace which inhibits my free choices of who I want to buy from or deal with?
Don’t give me a long-winded circuitous reply, Mark. Just answer the questions.

          • mark

DaveH, I don’t believe the government has a right to force you to buy health insurance or to force you to buy a particular kind of health insurance ( I disagree with much of Obama’s plan in this regard). But I do believe the government has a legitimate role in the healthcare market helping the elderly and those with low incomes acquire insurance at more afordable rates. I am perfectly willing to help subsidize that as I think it is good for my fellow citizens in need. But these measures (Medicare, Medicaid) required majorities in the democratically elected House and Senate. I am not asking you to live under my personal whim but to respect the rights of the majority as expressed through law on these issues. All of this is of course subject to redress in our system. No law is permanent except the Constitution. Large segments of Obamacare may very well be invalidated by the Supreme Court. The government does have a right to tax you for certain services and benefits that you receive and for things that are good for the larger society and the general welfare like roads, bridges, damns, a military to protect us (not engage in idiotic overseas wars like Vietnam, Iraq, Libya). As for government interference in the marketplace I think it is necessary for certain health, safety and security reasons. I want meat and medicines to be inspected and federal safety laws to be enforced. I also want security at airports and a government watchdog on stock and bank fraud. I see the government as having legitimate roles in these areas. I do not have total faith in the government as it is comprised of fallible men but I also do not have total faith in the market (via the Austrian School). Completely unregulated capitalism would be a disaster in fact the failure to regulate capitalism led to much of our current financial and economic crises. I suspect that unlike you I have a stronger sense of obligation toward my fellow American citizens and towards a more communal view of the nation. I don’t believe in totally untrammeled individualism in which no one has any responsiblities to anyone outside one’s own family and very immediate community. I realize that as a libertarian you will no doubt say, fine, you want to help your fellow citizens donate to charity, help them personally but don’t tax me to do so. But in as large a society as ours I believe that the government has an important role to to play in alleviating want and suffering that personal charities cannot accomplish. I fully realize that you disagree with everything I have just said – and that’s fine. It is your right. I don’t consider you in anyway stupid or treasonous or evil for your perfectly legitimate view on the very limited role of government. I just happen to disagree. Unfortunately on this website if you go against the majority you are Satan, brainwashed, or off your meds according to the majority of responses I receive.

          • DaveH

I asked you not to boor me with a lengthy excuse, Mark.
But, in other words, you indeed have proved everything I said which you said is false. That makes you at the very least wrong on all counts.

          • DaveH

And I don’t care how many other people join you in your forced theft of my money and choices. The size of your gang makes no difference, you are still stealing my money and taking my choices away.
I stand by my accusation that you are Twisted.

I don’t expect you to get it. It takes more intelligence than you possess.

          • DaveH

This is what drives me crazy about Liberals.
Mark says I need to respect the “rights of the majority”. NO, I don’t. There are not “rights” to take other peoples’ money, whether the takers are the majority or the minority.
And he says “I am perfectly willing to help subsidize that as I think it is good for my fellow citizens in need”. When you vote, Mark, you aren’t voting to give your own money. You can do that anytime you want. You are voting to give other peoples’ money away. Face it Mark, you are a thief. And you somehow think that gathering enough thieves around yourself makes you less of a thief.

          • professor

Mark says, “But when a majority of a democratically-elected legislature enacts a law, as citizens, we are obligated to obey.”

Well…Mark, are we obligated to obey Executive Orders where those democratically-elected legislators have not been allowed to be involved!

Are we obligated to obey laws that are unconstitutional but are enacted, anyway!

Are we to obey the Laws passed and forced down the throats of Americans, against their “Will!”

Are we to obey the EPA, when the government gives them the power to independantly make, enact, and enforce,”their own Laws,” without the democratically-elected legislatures!

Are we to obey Laws made by a presidential appointee, without the democratically-elected legislatures!

You see, Mark, with this regime, we no longer have representatives when it comes to passing major legislation!

“inoculate your children with medications that harm or kill them, all for the sake of enriching the pharmaceutical industry,”

If I’m not mistaken, Japan(?) has practically eradicated Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) because they don’t start inoculations until after children are 1 years old.

We had a pretty bad scare after my grandson had gotten some shots. He got very sick and scared the living hell out of us.

I do know there may be a connection between these inoculations and Autism.

As a side note, I have a question that I probably have no earthly right to ask you. I put a link in one of my posts on this page that shows an article written Sunday June 27, 2004 in the Sunday Standard, for which the headline reads “Kenyan-born Obama all set for US Senate”

Is there any way, without bringing harm and retribution to yourself, to get this out where people can see it? Not many people know about it and even obama forgot the article exists while waving that fake COLB around.

I’ve been showing it to whom ever I can, even tweeted it and took a screen shot of the article with obama’s face on it for safe keeping. Also sending it to a few news writers whose articles I frequently read. In service to my beloved country, which is so very important to me.

My bet is it will eventually be taken down when the powers that be get wind of it. I look for a day when it is plastered all over the media worldwide BEFORE he is evicted from office. Lets see how he lies his way out of this one.

Oh, and you don’t have to be born in Hawaii to get a certificate of live birth. You can be born anywhere in the world and get one. Many have done it, including Obama’s sister born in Indonesia, has a COLB that says she was born in a hospital Hawaii, according to a report I read. If I can find it again I’ll post the link to it.

Thanks for anything you can do, Mr Livingston.

    Israeli Psychologist on Obama

Be sure to read all the way to the end.

Dr. Sam Vaknin is an Israeli psychologist.
    Interesting view on our president.
Dr. Vaknin has written extensively about narcissism.

Dr. Vaknin States “I must confess I was impressed by Obama from the first time I saw him.
At first I was excited to see a black candidate. He looked youthful, spoke well, appeared to be confident — a wholesome presidential package.
I was put off soon, not just because of his shallowness but also because there was an air of haughtiness in his demeanor that was unsettling.. His posture and his body language were louder than his empty words.
Obama’s speeches are unlike any political speech we have heard in American history.
Never a politician in this land had such quasi “religious” impact on so many people.

The fact that Obama is a total incognito with Zero accomplishment, makes this inexplicable infatuation alarming. Obama is not an ordinary man. He is not a genius. In fact he is quite ignorant on most important subjects.”

Dr. Sam Vaknin, the author of the Malignant Self Love believes “Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist.”
Vaknin is a world authority on narcissism.
He understands narcissism and describes the inner mind of a narcissist like no other person.
When he talks about narcissism everyone listens.
Vaknin says that Obama’s language, posture and demeanor, and the testimonies of his closest, dearest friends suggest that the man is either a narcissist or he may have narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).

Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves.
Jim Jones, the charismatic leader of People’s Temple, the man who led over 900 of his followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own children was also a narcissist.
David Koresh, Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko Asahara, Stalin, Saddam, Mao, Kim Jong Ill and Adolph Hitler are a few examples of narcissists of our time.
All these men had a tremendous influence over their fanciers.
They created a personality cult around themselves and with their blazing speeches elevated their admirers,
filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds a new zest for life.
They gave them hope! They promised them the moon, but alas, invariably they brought them to their doom.

When you are a victim of a cult of personality, you don’t know it until it is too late.
One determining factor in the development of NPD is childhood abuse
“Obama’s early life was decidedly chaotic and replete with traumatic and mentally bruising dislocations,” says Vaknin. “Mixed-race marriages were even less common then.
His parents went through a divorce when he was an infant two years old.
Obama saw his father only once again, before he died in a car accident.
Then his mother re-married and Obama had to relocate to Indonesia , a foreign land with a radically foreign
culture, to be raised by a step-father. At the age of ten, he was whisked off to live with his maternal (white) grandparents. He saw his mother only intermittently in the following few years
and then she vanished from his life in 1979. “She died of cancer in 1995.”

One must never underestimate the manipulative genius of pathological narcissists.
They project such an imposing personality that it overwhelms those around them.
Charmed by the charisma of the narcissist, people become like clay in his hands.
They cheerfully do his bidding and delight to be at his service.
The narcissist shapes the world around himself and reduces others in his own inverted image.
He creates a cult of personality. His admirers become his co-dependents.
Narcissists have no interest in things that do not help them to reach their personal objective.
They are focused on one thing alone and that is power.
All other issues are meaningless to them and they do not want to waste their precious time on trivialities.
Anything that does not help them is beneath them and does not deserve their attention.

If an issue raised in the Senate does not help Obama in one way or another, he has no interest in it.
The “present” vote is a safe vote. No one can criticize him if things go wrong.
Those issues are unworthy by their very nature because they are not about him.

Obama’s election as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review led to a contract
and advance to write a book about race relations.
The University of Chicago Law School provided him a lot longer than expected
and at the end it evolved into, guess what? His own autobiography!
Instead of writing a scholarly paper focusing on race relations, for which he had been paid,
Obama could not resist writing about his most sublime self.
He entitled the book Dreams from My Father.

Not surprisingly, Adolph Hitler also wrote his own autobiography when he was still a nobody.
So did Stalin. For a narcissist no subject is as important as his own self.
Why would he waste his precious time and genius writing about insignificant things
when he can write about such an august being as himself?

Narcissists are often callous and even ruthless.
As the norm, they lack conscience.
This is evident from Obama’s lack of interest in his own brother who lives on only one dollar per month..
A man who lives in luxury, who takes a private jet to vacation in Hawaii,
and who raised nearly half a billion dollars for his campaign (something unprecedented in history)
has no interest in the plight of his own brother.
Why? Because, his brother cannot be used for his ascent to power.
A narcissist cares for no one but himself.

This election was like no other in the history of America .
The issues were insignificant compared to what is at stake.
What can be more dangerous than having a man bereft of conscience, a serial liar,
and one who cannot distinguish his fantasies from reality as the leader of the free world?

I hate to sound alarmist, but one is a fool if one is not alarmed. Many politicians are narcissists.
They pose no threat to others. They are simply self serving and selfish.
Obama evidences symptoms of pathological narcissism, which is different from the run-of-the-mill narcissism of a Richard Nixon or a Bill Clinton for example. To him reality and fantasy are intertwined.

This is a mental health issue, not just a character flaw.
Pathological narcissists are dangerous because they look normal and even intelligent.
It is this disguise that makes them treacherous. Today the Democrats have placed all their hopes in Obama.
But this man could put an end to their party. The great majority of blacks voted for Obama.
Only a fool does not know that their support for him is racially driven.
This is racism, pure and simple.

The downside of this is that if Obama turns out to be the disaster I predict,
he will cause widespread resentment among the whites.
The blacks are unlikely to give up their support of their man. Cultic mentality is pernicious and unrelenting.
They will dig their heads deeper in the sand and blame Obama’s detractors of racism.
This will cause a backlash among the whites.
The white supremacists will take advantage of the discontent and they will receive widespread support.
I predict that in less than four years, racial tensions will increase to levels never seen since the turbulent 1960′s.

Obama will set the clock back decades.
America is the bastion of freedom. The peace of the world depends on the strength of America ,
and its weakness translates into the triumph of terrorism and victory of rogue nations..
It is no wonder that Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, the Castrists, the Hezbollah, the Hamas, the lawyers of the Guantanamo terrorists, and virtually all sworn enemies of America are so thrilled by the prospect of their man in the White House.

America is on the verge of destruction.
There is no insanity greater than electing a pathological narcissist as president.

    • mark

Raggs, “There is no insanity greater than electing a pathological narcissist as president.” Yes there is. Electing a pathological narcissist as president who deliberately starts a global war that takes 60 million lives, who rounds up tens of millions of innocent civilians at the point of a gun for death and labor camps, who cancels all elections, shuts down the Congress, closes all opposition newspapers, ends the right to assemble, declares illegal all opposition parties, institutes a massive draft, makes all children join and indoctrinating political youth group. This is a FAR, FAR GREATER INSANITY and one that the German people committed when they elected Adolf Hitler. Though to be fair to the Germans, only 32% of them actually voted of Hitler in 1932. He was not technically elected but rather chosen as Chancellor by Hindenburg and his advisors as the leader of the largest party in the Reichstag. The Nazis were, however, a minority not a majority party. BUT ALL THIS WAS FAR, FAR WORSE. In comparisons to what that monster Hitler and his supporters actually did, Barak Obama is Mother Theresa.

      • DaveH

Don’t kid yourself, Mark. You can’t kid us. Obama has been restrained by a disapproving populace. If not, there is every sign that he would fall right into the role of a Hitler.
He pushed through a very unpopular Health Care bill.
He had the EPA institute Carbon rules that Congress failed to pass due to their unpopularity.
His FCC people are trying hard to implement regulation of the radio industry that would stifle Free Speech.
He issues an order (again against the will of the people) giving amnesty to illegal aliens:

This President is fitting right into the role of Dictator. And you, Mark, will be in denial until you are directly affected by his actions.

        • mark

DaveH, “Obama has been restrained by a disapproving populace.” Exactly, this is how democracies function! Obama like every democratic leader can only get a small portion of his program through due to the democratic opposition! This is America. Why are you so afraid of living in a democratic republic where a leader’s agenda is restrained in large measure by the democratic opposition – in this case the Republican Party? And that website you posted on immigration is a ludicrous over-the-top site that distorts and exaggerates everything that Obama does, calling him a traitor and a dictator. Just like hard-left sites distorted and exaggerated everything George W. Bush did. Please…

          • DaveH

We don’t live in a Democracy, Mark. Never have. Our founders knew that Democracies were doomed to failure as mob rule and tyranny over the minority always followed implementation of Democracies.
We were established as a Republic with the States being Sovereign and the Federal Government being their agent, NOT visa versa. The founders did their best to set up a system of checks and balances to prevent the few from becoming Lord over the many. Then people, not unlike yourself, subverted the system for their own benefit at the expense of the rest.
Could it be that you argue so vehemently for Big Government because you are one of those who benefit at the rest of our expense?

          • DaveH

You didn’t like that website, Mark. Boo Hoo.
            Here’s another one:

So, by your own words you agree that Obama is a pathological narcissist, but not as bad as Hitler. Oh well, at least you are right on the first count.

      • professor

Mark has described, perfectly, the plans that our own “elected narcissist” has for us!

The muslim is lawless, and disregards our Constitution. Bills are passed behind closed doors, and the will of the people is ignored!
Politicians perceive themselves as “elites” and they have their own agenda. This regime is passing legislation that Americans don’t know about and the communist MSM is not talking about. The Legislation passed is destructive and meant to destroy our prosperity, our military might, and the ability of Americans to feed and care for their families.

We are already a “totalitarian nation.” Many Americans just haven’t awakened to that fact. But, Americans are mad! They don’t like what is happening to their country and the regime is “on the run,” trying to stay ahead of those that want the truth.
These communists are not used to having to answer to the people, and never expected any resistance..It has taken them by surprise..

        • 45caliber

When a politician is “leading from the front”, is he trying to lead the people to some goal – or is he running from them?

          • professor

This regime knows nothing about, “Leadership!” No one can accuse them of using “leadership,” when it comes to anything they have done to this country! They can be accused of using the, “Red hammer!”

Come to think of it, what a remarkable compilation of parrellels.

“Electing a pathological narcissist as president who deliberately starts a global war”

There are many on the left, right and center who believe we are on the verge of a global war.

“a global war that takes 60 million lives”

        Most global wars do that.

“who rounds up tens of millions of innocent civilians at the point of a gun for death and labor camps”

Ever heard of Fema camps and UN Agenda 21?

        “who cancels all elections”

While canceled elections have not yet come about, he and his minions have certainly manipulated results in plenty of them. Ever seen the photo of an anonymous grave yard where all the tombstones are adorned with little “I Voted” stickers?

        “shuts down the Congress”

What’s the difference between shutting down the Congress and rendering it obsolete?

“closes all opposition newspapers, ends the right to assemble, declares illegal all opposition parties, institutes a massive draft, makes all children join and indoctrinating political youth group”

Well, he’s not quite there yet, but he has indeed worked toward accomplishing most of your wish list. Relax, your hero has to have something to keep him busy for the next year and a half. After all, he can’t spend every day bouncing back and forth between Hawaii, Marha’s Vineyard and a golf tee.

Thanks for enlightening us to the many parrellels.

        • 45caliber

          Michael J.

Your “anonumous grave yard” was in Chicago. I forgot the name of the person who posted the “I Voted” stickers. He went back to the polling place to try to get more stickers for other graveyards and was turned down.

          • Michael J.

            Thanks 45, I remember now.

        • mark

Fine except by your own words you admit that Obama has done none of these measures that you listed. We have had no global war since World War II. The closest examples might be the Cold War and the War on Terror neither of which were started by Obama and neither of which killed even a fraction of the lives World War II took. Tens of millions of people HAVE NOT been killed in any FEMA camps either. In fact no one except a few very sick refugees from Katrina died in FEMA camps and that took place on George W. Bush’s watch – not Obama’s. Agenda 21 was also written up in the UN during George H.W. Bush’s admin. But the U.S. Senate never ratified Agenda 21, never even considered voting on it, and has never expressed any interest in doing so. Obama never submitted Agenda 21 to the Senate for ratification either but what does that matter. In other words, Agenda 21 has no force of law in the United States, like various civil codes written in Mongolia have no force of law in the United States, so why keep bringing it up? Agenda 21 is a joke that only serves as a ludicrous talking point for the extreme, conspiratorial right. So your overall conclusion is that Barak Obama is responsible for numerous, monstrous crimes THAT HE HAS NEVER COMMITTED BUT MIGHT SOMEDAY COMMIT. Fascinating. Well in the U.S. you cannot be impeached or convicted for things YOU MIGHT do. Or for things you MIGHT WANT TO DO. Or for things THAT SOME PEOPLE THINK YOU MIGHT WANT TO DO. You do understand this, don’t you? If some enemy of yours says to the police, Michael J. MIGHT WANT TO rob some guy, the police cannot arrest you for that. For what someone thinks you might do. Oh, I give up, what’s the point! You’re right, Barak Obama is absolutely guilty of killing millions of people in camps that he never actually killed anyone in but where he someday might. You win. You truly are a genius at logical deduction.

          • eddie47d

Thanks for hanging in there Mark. There is no Agenda 21 or FEMA death camps under Obama but they have been telling me that for 2 years now. The insane are still loose from the insane asylum. You and I recognize Obama as not being perfect and no President has been. Obama can be clumsy in getting his point across but G Bush was even worse. Can America do better? Maybe so but none of the original 15 or so Republican candidates are very inspiring. Ron Paul is great but he doesn’t use conspiracy theories to run his campaign. He’s too much of a straight shooter to ever get elected. The far right says we are all going to be hauled away in chains. They could be “right” but THEY will be the ones doing the incarcerating.

          • mark

eddie47d, yeah this is a tough crowd. Oh well….

          • DaveH

It’s a tough crowd, Mark, because unlike you we don’t just naively embrace the Government’s propaganda.
We’ve produced example after example of Obama’s dictatorial actions, and the best you can do is ridicule us as if being naive, like you are, is a virtue.
You wouldn’t climb into the polar bear cage at the zoo would you? Why not? He (or she) hasn’t eaten anybody yet, so how can you be so paranoid?
Some of us have enough sense to learn from experience and avoid repeating history. The fact that you don’t shouldn’t be worn by you as if it were a badge of honor. It isn’t. It’s just a sign of being terribly naive.

          • Michael J.

No UN Agenda 21, heh? I guess you have not heard or have convieniently decided to ignore Executive Order 13575 which Obama signed on June !4th, 2011. This executive order not only bypasses the Congress, shamelessly confirming it’s obsolescence, but also parrellels the dictates of UN Agenda 21 in everything but name.

Your comparison of Bush to Obama are to me the same as comparing Jekyll to Hyde, one was somtimes monsterous while the other was just a monster. Yet both were one in the same, consumed by the hideous serum which in this case is provided by the NWO.

As far as “who rounds up tens of millions of innocent civilians at the point of a gun for death and labor camps”
I guess you haven’t heard of Hr 645 which failed and then later S. 3476 which also failed. The point is the persistence to ligitimize, fund and operate Fema camps.

And in case you didn’t notice, Obama loves to push rail travel infrustructure enhancements which would facilitate the tranportation of large groups of human cattle to camps.

And then there is Obama’s relentless push for higher education which we all know churns out little communist America haters like yourself.
All tempted with the promise of forgiven loans if you agree to work for the government upon graduating.

You see Mark, we know your type. As a matter of fact, we can pick you out of a crowd. The indoctrination engrained in your DNA has externalized itself. You are a walking neon sign, a fact which may someday betray you.

“The great majority of blacks voted for Obama. Only a fool does not know that their support for him is racially driven. This is racism, pure and simple.”

I’ve touched on this subject in earlier posts on other threads and came to the same conclusion. I am African American and do not understand what it is that the African American community doesn’t see. It’s as clear as day to me, yet they view obama as doing a good job. As I have said, they are either not paying attention (head buried in the sand) or they follow him because he is black. However, I’m not so sure they view it as racism.

“What can be more dangerous than having a man bereft of conscience, a serial liar, and one who cannot distinguish his fantasies from reality as the leader of the free world?”

‘Serial liar’ being the operative words here. Absolutely agree. I call it pathological sociopathic liar. You didn’t get away with that crap in the house I grew up in. My dad (RIP) used to say “If you lie you cheat, if you cheat you steal.” He hated liars.

“The downside of this is that if Obama turns out to be the disaster I predict…” Right on target. That prediction has come to full fruition as we can see.

“The blacks are unlikely to give up their support of their man. Cultic mentality is pernicious and unrelenting.”

I have seen this myself in discussions with my own relatives and people in my community. What is it they’re not seeing that the rest of us do see? When I give them facts and figures a brick wall goes up and any existence of facts are denied. Very disheartening when people refuse to face reality. I read everything I can get my eyes and hands on to make my own informed decisions, while others just go along believing everything they are told no matter what the facts reveal.

Additionally, I find that people are more willing to believe an easy liar (obama), than to recognize some hard truths (Ron Paul).

“The narcissist shapes the world around himself and reduces others in his own inverted image.” Very true. Ever notice how obama likes to tilt his nose in the air? Arrogance at its finest.

And while “Rome” burns, he’s on a 10 day vacation in Martha’s Vineyard. If that isn’t arrogance, then I don’t know what is. Wonderful thing to have your prez flip you the finger to your face.

His response after being briefed on the current events in Tripoli was to head for the beach for some fun in the sun.

What I find unconscionable is those around him knowing what he is and what he is doing lift nary a finger to put a stop to it or appear powerless to do so.

The only one with the kahunas to tell it like it is is Rep. Joe Wilson, SC, who called out obama as a liar during a speech to congress on the healthcare bill. Liar in chief said illegals were not covered in obamacare, when actually Health and Human Services Department awarded millions to “migrant and seasonal farm worker” health care.

      Guess who paid for that?

Generally, a pretty good article with opinions that are consistant with what I have observed, as an independent, on my own.
I would add, rather than demonize the left for all our woes – as some chose to do here to the exclusion of their pet political ideology, it’d be more constructive to acknowledge that Washington is broken. Rather than call President Obama a communist, a socialist, a illegal alien, a muslim, or any host of thinly veiled bigoted misnomer(s); I’d rather people try to acknowledge what he truly seems to be: just another weak, can-kicking leader, a hypocrat among many! Nothing more, nothing less.
At the end of the day, as long as big business/elite monies are required for politicians to win elections, Middle America will be brutalized.
Perhaps only when public anger mutates into demonstrations and riots,
will Washington be forced, out of fear, to confront the reforms that must happen if the middle class is to prosper.
The real enemies of the state, are perhaps, not simply one political ideology, but the system itself, and what it “allows”.

I consider Oblama as a weak politician who was picked and given the job of President because he will do as ordered when his bosses need something done. Then, if it goes badly enough, he gets the blame and they go unnoticed. If he enriches himself while President, they don’t care because money is basically worthless anyway. It is power they seek. He in enamored with getting richer and has done a good job of it. His only real goal for getting elected is to continue to pile up more cash and keep the perks he has as President such as exemption of being charged with crimes such as kickbacks and the nice parties and vacations he can enjoy at America’s expense by pretending he is “working”.

barry is maneuvering the muslim brotherhood to take over the middle east. the israeli’s are gearing up actions and ww3 is soon approaching. we have an idiot sitting in the white house and led by a bunch of communist jews who care nothing for israel or the united states. they have been manipulating world affairs since the russian revolution via fdr and have under mind our politics in this country. they have indoctrinated our young in the liberal (communist) education system and revised our history, they have used civil rights legislation to steer their course using the civil liberties union and the southern poverty law center. they have an enormous third world vote to protect them and barry is busy gaining more of the illegal vote. so removing these people by ballot is not an option anymore.

people must think about something, russia and china both have the power to reach this country with rockets (china can thank bill clinton) this means in the next war we will see it personally.

barry is over using our resources, he will be moving into africa next, that will over tax our country and i fel china and russia would dearly love to catch us at one our weaker times and thsi may be coming. china could collect her debt in person.

    • 45caliber

I wouldn’t be blaming the “communist jews” as you called them so much as the Muslims who Oblama seems to worship.

  • 45caliber

War is the politician’s way to get the people’s attention off the economy. It was used in WWI. It was done in WWII. It was done at ALL other wars since then. And Oblama is simply trying to do the same thing today. If people get concerned enough about the safety of their children, then they won’t be as unwilling to pay extra taxes and they won’t think so much about a bad economy. It worked for other Presidents so he wants it to work for him.

Further, the liberals/progressives do NOT trust the type of people who would willingly join the military and put their lives in danger to protect the country. To them, such people must have criminal intentions and cannot be trusted. Since they can’t lock them up as they would like to do, they send them overseas to get them away from our country. But they do not trust any veterans since such people have proven (to them) that vets are willing to risk their lives. And only crazy people would do that if some other meathod presented itself – such as appeasment through paying tribute to be left alone. And we do pay tribute (called foreign aid) to almost every country in the world.

Since a war can do both things, then a war is a good thing for us to be involved in. And if it is a shooting war, it’s even better since those soldiers they can’t trust anyway can possibly be killed.

  • 45caliber

A couple of things. You said, “Their policies destroy the middle class.” You also said that tax freedom day was in April.

They WANT to destroy the middle class more than they do anything else. ALL revolt comes from the middle class. If you can eliminate the middle class, then there are the rich (who they are) and the poor. The poor cannot revolt when they can barely find enough to eat. They certainly cannot afford to buy guns for revolt. The rich can then freely do whatever they desire without fear.

And the tax day does not include ALL taxes paid. It doesn’t, for instance, include all the tarrifs that are added to the price of goods we buy. I’m not even sure it includes all state and local taxes such as school taxes. It also doesn’t include licenses, fees, etc. required to live in this country and run a business.

The best I’ve heard is that about 53% of all earned money goes to some government entity in the US in some form or another. I’ve heard figures up to close to 59% from some sources. So “Tax Freedom Day” is basically wrong.

Bob Livingston, thank you for this forum! I believe this is one of the most complete articles that has been presented on PLD.

    • moonbeam

Same here. It is wonderful to have some place to go where you can get it off your chest. Thank you Mr. Livingston!

On some sites I visit, the only way you can leave a comment is if you are on Facebook. I’m not on FB and never will be. I’ve written to these sites asking why only FB members can comment and not the masses. No feedback forthcoming. Just crickets in the background.

I was a child at the end of the “big one” and remember my mother saying that we should go into Russia next. It wasn’t until years later that Russia was forced to release those countries from its grip. We actually had a family from Estonia living on the other side or our double house for a while. They were the nicest people. Little pitchers do have big ears and I learned a lot from my elders during those times.

    • chuckb

american citizen, we can thank fdr for the sellout to his friend stalin. his administration allowed the russian armies to take berlin while holding our army back. gen patton had the right idea, we should have used the german army and run stalin and his communist army back to moscow. eisenhower was either sympathetic to the communist or didn’t have a clue, could be both. we can thank the yalta agreement for lot of the problem, roosevelt sold us down the river.

45caliber, the last time i checked there are more communist in his cabinet than muslims and i do believe they use him like a puppet even though he is muslim.

      • Nadzieja Batki

chuckb., there is no differences between communism and islam or socialism. It is all about control of people and control of producers. The ways and means is discrecionary as long as the end result is the same.

      • 45caliber

As far as I can tell, ALL are communist, regardless of national heritage. I was trying to point out that most are not communist jews. In fact, I’m not certain if there are any jews in it or not. Just because someone is a jew doesn’t necessarily mean they are Communist. I know a lot of good jews.

The Russian Government has successfully taken over the USA without firing one missile. They have infiltrated our system by a Trojan Horse and are on a mission to shred our Constitution that many men and woman have given there lives to protect.

You got to admit it, the Russians out smarted the good old USA. We still have a chance to out smart them and expose them for the fraud they are. If not, we will be waking up with the initials USSA next to the USSR.

Susan Daniels uncovered the social security number that Obama is using that was issued to a person born in 1890 in Connecticut. No one from the federal government has challenged her findings and have not even made a statement regarding it. As a private investigator she has access to files that common people would have no access to. By coming out and stating that there is a problem and false identify on Obama she could loose her license if it were not true and factual. Again the US Government is not coming against her, maybe not to create any light to this subject.

We have found through our “In The News” sessions there are many questionable items regarding the president. With all the facts building up against him, not even our media news or TV talking heads are wanting to touch this with a 10 foot pole.

Tom Fife an American businessman in Russia who reflects on “The first time I heard of Barack”, while visiting Moscow in 1992. This man heard from the lips of a high-ranking person that Obama was a creation of them and will be planted in the USA to bring it down. They stated that USA was the roadblock in advancing socialism.

The interview is almost hard to believe. However if you watch the actions of what Obama says and does run contrary to what America stands for, but runs right along with the socialist agenda.

Stephen Pidgeon regarding his new book entitled “The Obama Error”. Will show evidence that Obama is not a natural born citizen of the USA and that he has ties back to communism. Ever think why the people that surround him in Washington all have a communist agenda? Stephen provides proof that USA has been infiltrated by socialism and the destruction has begun.

From the chilling words that Stephen used, Amercia has no constitution. Obama via his policies has eradicated them.

Here’s something that will blow your mind, yet nothing on the media about it at all. Proof positive of what sits in the oval office.

And here we have a True Patriot.

We should all be standing right beside this Brave Son who refuses to compromise Truth. We can’t run and hide from this.

      • Jay

Well moonbeam, regarding your first article you posted, what further proof do we need? I take it that there were no rebuttals regarding that article, or any follow up articles contradicting obama’s kenyan heritage! As to the second article, I suspect the there is more dissent, in the military, air force, and navy, then the media talking heads would have us believe.

  • Bonnie Parmenter

Bob you are right on with this article. I am still amazed by reading liberal blogs how many people don’t see how our government Democrat or Republican are part of a huge corrupt conspiracy that benefits only themselves. Government control or handing them more money doesn’t solve any of our problems. They have had their chance with trillions and have not shown good stewdardship of our money and they need to be cut off.

  • Matt Cuddy

While the infastructure of the United States is teetering on the ropes of a financial crisis unseen since the great depression, we still find the resources, time and money to fight an un-winnable war in Afghanistan.

Following the same road the Persians, Romans, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union did, we can’t see the folly of any military action in that pesrtulant fetid hole.

Where is the leadership? Where are the men of great vision? Perhaps after the next terrorist attack on our soil, we will understand, and forulate a proper response that doesn’t involve billions of dollars and thousands of American lives.

    One can only hope.

  • Another Voice

America was a big war machine long before Obama was even born, so don’t blame the current situation on him. His approach is different, however: he opposes the idea of America invading a country, overthrowing the current regime and staying there forever. He wants to help the various countries develop the kind of government THEY want to have, not the kind of government we WANT them to have. Obama does not want to send in troops to prop up a dictator of the US’s own choosing. This is a big difference, and I support Obama’s foreign policy all the way. The old foreign policy of Bush and his predecessors simply does not work. If ‘we break it, then we own it’ is not the way to fly, and I think that the American people are beginning to realize that.

    • Karolyn

      Good points!

    • DaveH

Are you for real, Voice? Obama went against the Constitution, and against the War Powers Resolution to pick sides and butt into another country’s business. And you say that he wants them to have the kind of Government they want? What part of picking a side do you not understand?

As for you, Karolyn, I don’t expect any more than your sycophantic response.

  • Raggs

This psychotic pathological narcissist will be taking a huge pat on the back from his left wing commies for ( as charlie sheen would say ) “winning” the illegal war in Lybia… I don’t expect him to CREATE another CRISIS while in the re-election ( golf ) mode not in the form of yet another illegal war, on the other hand maybe with Syria? Only if the golf game plan would be to go in and rip the hell out of Syria before 2012 and gain yet another big pat on his exit hole.
One has to wonder if the Lybians are voting for oblama in 2012?

    • DaveH

Only time will tell if Obama did Libya a favor or doomed them to an even worse fate. I remember when the MSM made positive news of the Ayatollah taking over Iran.

  • chuckb

45caliber, in making reference to communist jews i don’t intend it as anti-semetic. the jews from the russian revolution emigrated into the united states and brought their politics with them. they infiltrated the u.s. government and all aspects of our media and education. fdr was either very stupid or agreed with their policy. i believe he accepted communism. these people for the most part were all jewish and if you want to take the time you can trace the ancestry up to some in the presidential czars and his cabinet, axelrod is one and there are many more and they are all jewish. i don’t understand the correlation between the communist jews and the muslims in the white house unless one thinks they are using the other, barry is not to bright.

  • Bob from SoCal

Stop the New World Order and all of this will stop. But if we do that the NWO will just get the rest of the world to fight us. I say that is a fight worth waging. If our government joins with us we might have a chance. We need good people in Washington, not these greedy self centered parasites that are running the place now. This evil has to be stopped. Even if this country does go down, it should go down fighting for what is right and good.

  • bob wire

elites ~ is a rather broad term and until I understand exactly to whom you refer Mr. Livingston I’m in quandary of sorts.

Academicians don’t run the world or governments. So I guess it’s not them.

But you are most correct, ~ America has invested 10 -20 to one on our military and quick to employ it.

The question might be , is that a bad thing?

  • Rosco1776

Vote Peace, Prosperity and Liberty, vote Ron Paul 2012!!

The goal of obama and his puppet masters is clear, WORLD DOMINATION! If only the “power obsessed commies” would use their genius for good, rather than evil, they might actually have a chance in creating a “utopia”! But the utopia they so crave is only for themselves, and not for the rest of the mankind, whom they believe should and must be dispatched.

    • bob wire

Hmm? I question the clarity that you refer to but it did seem much clearer under 43. ~ Nothing quite like having a VP like Dick Chaney to see a fly in the ointment.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I would still rather go hunting with Dick Cheney than driving around with Ted Kennedy. At least with Cheney around, he would go get help.

  • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I read all the posts concerning the “NWO” as they call it, and those who voice “its coming” and those who dont agree. But I do have to say this about it. It does talk in the Bible that there will be a government made up of 10 countries, of which 3 will be almost immediately removed from it. And this is in the end times, and we are rapidly heading that way. When you see this come to fruition, hang on, its getting real close. But rest assured, God is in control, not man. All these things must come to pass, and they will.

Wars are a great smokescreen for on going crimes….remember when Clinton carpet bombed a pharmacutical plant when the Monica Lewinski story broke? His message of diversion to the public was about stopping the WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN THE HANDS OF SADDAM HUSEIN

The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; the second is war. Both bring a temporary prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunists.
