Some voters will support Mitt Romney just because he isn't Barack Obama.

As I have shuffled through my mortal coil, I have had the privilege of building friendships with a wide variety of folks. Admittedly, most of them share my view of the world; but some not only don’t share my starboard lean, they list quite sharply to port. Among them is a fellow who is not only most decidedly not a conservative, he’s not even an American. (He wears his maple leaf with marked pride.) Yet he’s one of the wiser and more impressively politically thoughtful human beings I have ever known.

During one of our regular discussions on the Cirque Du Crazy that has replaced the traditional American electoral process, he posited that Mitt Romney’s failure to truly inspire conservatives precludes a victory in November. Given the slavish devotion Democrats offer to current President Barack Obama, it’s easy to dismiss Romney for the lack of similar zeal he elicits from the right side of the spectrum.

Romney doesn’t inspire conservatives to shout their assent because Romney isn’t a conservative. Thus, while Democrats ignore the crimes and misdemeanors that define Obama’s occupation of our Oval Office and shriek their support for Obama (and against God) across the slums, cemeteries and shuttered coal mines created by their idol’s incompetence, the noise from the other side is decidedly muted. Yet it doesn’t really matter. Obama will lose in November, and his coming Waterloo connects to Romney only because Romney will be the most recognizable beneficiary of Obama’s self-immolation.

In defense of my friend’s assessment, what was once a peaceful transfer of power admired the world over — especially with Obama ascending as the first “celebrity” President — is now an anti-intellectual beauty pageant. Think of it:

My name’s Barry. My turn-ons include golf, hanging with Jay-Z and mom jeans. My turn-offs include the Bill of Rights and Bibi Netanyahu. If I’m elected, I promise to lie to Congress (Accomplice General Eric Holder makes that look so easy!), wipe out the middle class and party like a rock star on your nickel.

Throw in an awkwardly performed dance routine and Honey Boo Boo might have a shot at the White House. She’s easily as qualified as Obama.

In the interest of full disclosure, I’m hardly an ardent admirer of Romney. However, with the departure of Ron Paul from the Presidential stage and the reality (go easy, Libertarian Party; I’m just being honest) that Gary Johnson is as likely to win this fall as an unborn baby is to escape a Planned Parenthood “clinic” unharmed, I find myself east of the intellectual rock and west of the electoral hard place. And I’m hardly the only resident of God’s Little Political Acre.

Romney isn’t going to win in November because Republicans unified behind him in a manner similar to the Democratic phalanx that guards Obama. The membership of the modern Republican Party, unconstrained by the infantile intellectual deficiencies of liberalism and spread across a much more diverse ideological plane, lacks the guilelessness required to worship at the altar of some mere politician. Liberals will ignore failure to vote for the guy with the “D” after his name; most of them — proud members of the 47 percent — don’t and won’t know better.

I and my fellow wanderers in the desert of Presidential disappointment may not share the blindly religious fervor of Obama’s average supporters, but we do possess the unshakeable will to see an end to the four years of shame Obama has delivered to us all. Indeed, as I told my Canadian pal, Obama is going to be the first President since Herbert Hoover to lose an election via what amounts to a nullification vote. Millions of Americans who lack confidence in Romney will vote for him anyway, simply because he isn’t Obama. And in an America torn virtually asunder by Obama’s failures foreign and domestic, that may well be good enough.

Change of heart, Mr. Crystal? On March 27 you said, “Therefore, I feel compelled to make a remark which may well shock you even more than my earlier prediction that Obama will likely be reelected this fall: so be it. If the Republican Party is content to react to Barack Obama’s almost virtually criminal arrogance by offering a more telegenic version of—well—Barack Obama, then they deserve to lose my vote… for starters. It’s entirely possible that the Republican establishment risks political oblivion in nominating a candidate who only edges Obama in the hair and wardrobe departments. Perhaps that’s a fate they’ve earned.”

    • rendarsmith

I know. I’m as sick of Obama as the next guy but I cannot stand Romney. The GOP needs a wake up call.

      • dan

Agreed…a compromise with principle is unacceptable …something that those without morals
can’t quite comprehend. Vote like it’s your last day on earth…you never know.
The choice between those who mock God
or those that are lawless and mock the Golden Rule….is no choice at all

      • Corkey

Romney wants to invade Iran and start WW3. So I should vote for him? Why? Obama is a terrible President but the bipartisan Congress has helped him every step of the way.

I thought Reagan was the first celebrity President? LOL

its freightening to see how short sighted everone has become. Romney was not my 1st or even 3rd choice.
But the alternative is a complete collapse of the US govt and the American way of life.
Please, please, people. Make an intelligent decision on this election. Think things thru. We are at a crossroads in our survival as a nation.
Our current leaders, if you knew nothing about what they said in the past but look only to what they have done!
Ask yourselves at least one question:
Why has Obama appointed all avoweed Marxist and Maoists to positions of “czar”,where they are not accountable to anyone, not even congress!
        Then ask;
why has Obama signed executive orders (most on Friday afternoons where they get little or no press coverage (on purpose) setting up 10 regional “governorships” to oversee 10 regions of the country, set up emergency detention camps, mostly on old out of the way military bases, gave the executive branch TOTAL control of all national resources in case of an “emergency situation”.
This fall, we will have a staged “emergency” to allow Obama to declare Marshal Law!

Please watch the movie “2016; Obamas America”. There is just too much at sake in this election!

      • Scott

The GOP needs a wake-up call? No. What the GOP needs is to be reduced to third-party status by the Libertarians or the Constitution Party. It’s almost certainly a long shot but if that were to happen it would be the biggest favor for this country since Reagan was elected.

        • http://Facebook Rosemary Roy

I have been hoping for a third party for years.I would be behind it 100%. It is certainly what is needed.

Romney wasn’t my pick but I did vote for him because if Obama gets back in we can kiss our A$$ goodbye. America will never be the same. Romney wasn’t my pick either but he’s the best of 2 evils and I will vote for him.

To Eddie47–Obviously you know very little. When Reagan took over, the unemployment was the same rate as Obama. We were also in a small recession as Obama. Reagan brought us out of it by cutting government and spending. He loved his country—unlike the Muslin we bow have, who went to a church with Wright whose sermon was to hate this country. All else I can say is—you must be one of those people who say—my parents were democrats as were my grand parents–and so am I. Grow up and vote for a person, not a party

      • Jack

        Rosemary Roy:

        Your “facts” are not correct:

        1. Unemployment was higher under Reagan so a plus for him;

        2. A small economic bump is not comparable to the near economic collapse Obama faced
        so a plus for Obama;

        3. Reagan increased spending, increased government empolyment, decreased taxes
once and increased them 11 times, and tripled the national debt (under 1 trillion to 3
trillion) – Obama basically maintained spending (1.2 trillion deficit Bush’s last budget to
1.1 trillion for the fiscal year that ended 9-30-12) reduced government jobs over
600,000 state, local and federal) and there have been a number of tax cuts under
Obama including about 40% of the “Stimulus Bil” (over $300 billion), the payroll tax
holiday and over 20 different cut for small businesses so I guess it would be a plus for
        Obama..

The rest of your post was obviously your personal opinions which, right or wrong, you are entitled to so I won’t comment upon them.

        • http://Facebook Rosemary Roy

I got my info on facts on un-employment in black and white on the tv screen so people could see—from Fox news. Also the other facts came from Fox news. I’m sure if you contact them, they’ll be more than happy to send the info to you. Lets not repeat what Obuma has continually said. It’s Bush’s fault. Don’t blame Bush for every thing. He inherited Nafta, which as I said was for South America ONLY. That was changed the last year of his term to include Asia and Europe. I was a product designer in mechanics. It was my job to fix a problem that came up. I didn’t blame the person who worked on it before me—-I JUST FIXED IT, SO IT WOULD WORK PROPERLY. All Obama has done is continually borrow money and enlarge government. Be my guest and vote for him. I’m glad I’m the age I am. I do know, young people will never know what it was like to grow up in a great country,

        • http://Facebook Rosemary Roy

It was the last year of the Clinton administration that he changed to include Asia and Europe. Gore made the statement on TV years back—-Gas should be 5.00a gal. as it is in Europe. He’s got his wish.it’s getting there. Don’t forget over there, liters are larger than a gallon. Another brilliant statement by another politician who didn’t know what he was talking about, and should not have been where he was..

    • Larry King

Even tho i believe Obama will be re-elected unfortunitely, the truth is the article is over all very accurate. It’s too bad the Libertarian’s can not come up with a well known respected candidate as the best the Republican party can give us is some one to vote for against the Socialist Democrats. I honestly do not think those who control the Republican party are capable of connecting with the working common man. Ronald Reagan was the last one able too and the Party Bosses only tolerated him because they did not want mass exodus from the Republican party. So like millions of others i’m not voting for Romney but against Obama.

      • william mcdonald

I’d like some real rational reason’s for this Romney contempt other than what the LSM has been feeding you!..Here is a link to 3 interviews of folks that have been affected by the ACTIONS of Mitt as a person, not as a political stunt. Do a TINY bit of research and you can find dozens more: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/the-real-mitt-romney-beck-interviews-people-whose-lives-have-been-touched-by-the-gop-candidate/

      • John Woodbury

@ William McDonald The best reason to vote for R&R is O&B. Your failed child/man has done more to destroy this country in 4 years than all the rest of the world combined in 200. If you think The O will not have us in a war with Iran, your are not just a troll and a moron, your’e dumber than dirt. Yes, I am sure R has many people he could not save, just for you, he bought failing businesses, those people were toast any way. Did he care, is the question. Before shooting off your trollish mouth with the latest DNC propaganda think about and research for your self what you are saying. WTF do you think pays most of the taxes in this country? Not you and the rest of the 47%ers. A lot of the 53% are getting rather tired of your failure to work and do your fair share to pull the car away from the cliff..

      • Doc Sarvis

        Doug,
President Obama is an optimistic leader. He champions the positive outcomes.

      • Joe Hammond

Romney has run a very poor race. He has yet to present any plan at all that can be used to codify his positions. It is just “trust me, I’m wealthy” and that is not a winner. In fact, it is a whinner! He has no idea of what he is doing it seems although he probably would be an excellant manager. But the presidency is a source of ideas and motivations that are suppose to lead a nation-state through it’s decline and to a soft landing behind the new powers of Communist China and India. Obama is not a great leader but he is much more understandable from what he has done than Romney who remains an enigma……

      • Kinetic1

        Tazio2013,
Perhaps you didn’t get the talking points from the Republican party. October is “reject the evidence and proclaim Romney the winner” month. Hannity was even having a hard time keeping a straight face while listening to Dick Morris’ prognostications about what states Romney will win (Morris “Pennsylvania…” Hannity “Oh, come on!”) They’ve become so used to the idea that a lie told over and over eventually becomes accepted as the truth that they are now ready to believe that they can control the election turnout. The challenge this time will be to maintain a large enough spread to stop the vote tampering that the Republicans pulled in Florida (2000) and Ohio (2004).

      • Nobody’s Fool

So, Tazio2013 and JON, what kind of cigarettes are YOU smoking, and what flavor of oBlamer-ade are YOU drinking?? It amazes me how facts never seem to faze people like you, whose minds are made up (please don’t confuse you with facts!) It’s sad there are so many of you mush-for-brains people who will blindly vote for a communist muslim rather than take a look at the real facts. Hey, those “detention” camps will hold you blabbermouth liberals just like they will hold conservatives. oBlamer can’t continue the entitlements he has promised so his next agenda is to eliminate the masses. What makes you think he would not eliminate you??? Oh wait, I already answered that when i said you have mush-for-brains.

    • Dussty1

The better choice? Looking forward to Obama unscripted at tomorrow night’s debate. Why is he the better choice? Because he wants to send our taxpayer dollars to Egypt to support the Muslim Brotherhood? My biggest fear is waking up on Wednesday morning, November 7th if Obama wins. It will truly be over for our country. God help us.

      • Flashy

Dussty..if pres. Obama is re-elected, he has helped us.

      • Joe Hammond

Ask yourself if it truly matters who is president of a declining nation-state. Our education has become second rate because we are all worried how the kids “feel about themselves” rather than what they have accomplished. We are a racially divided nation-state and it is not just a black/white issue anymore. Poverty is destroying our cities as well as creating a violent (but well trained in prison) underclass with lots of access to guns. Corporations ship jobs overseas and successfully portray themselves as “patriotic” as they gobble up government contracts from the Pentagon to the Congress. The political class is nothing more than prostitudes to the wealthy and are less respected than actual brothel workers in Nevada (the only state with legal prostitution). Our military has been abused to protect corporate interests. Israel is never wrong even when we catch them stealing Naval Codes from us. We are behind the developed world in broadband distribution. We have a group of people who claim the universe is only 5,000 years old and demand this be taught as science because it comes from a book of Jewish myths. Our medical system costs more than double anyone else and we have one of the sickest populations from obesity and diabetes in the world (and let’s not forget that even though the medical system may keep you alive after a catastrophic incident, it also leaves you destitude). The population grows bigger and bigger and most of this is from the poverty stricken classes while religious groups scream against contraceptives (and of course, this means more prison inmates we pay for and more trained crimminals from those prisons to break into our homes and businesses). And we gorge ourselves with sports, drugs, sex, and entertainment news……..

And we think a president can stop this?……..

      • Kinetic1

        Dussty1,
The money sent to Egypt is not sent “to support the Muslim Brotherhood” Despite your ignorance regarding the political structure of Egypt, the U.S. has been sending Egypt an average of 2 Billion a year for the last 35 years and will continue as long as Egypt continues peaceful relations with Israel. Here’s a 2009 U.S. embassy cable recently released by WikiLeaks:

“President Mubarak and military leaders view our military assistance program as the cornerstone of our mil-mil relationship and consider the USD 1.3 billion in annual FMF as “untouchable compensation” for making and maintaining peace with Israel. The tangible benefits to our mil-mil relationship are clear: Egypt remains at peace with Israel, and the U.S. military enjoys priority access to the Suez Canal and Egyptian airspace.”

Now consider that “military aid” is essentially credit that a nation can use to purchase weapons from America’s defense contractors. Yes, we’re supplying weapons, but we’re also investing in our own economy. I might prefer spending the money on rebuilding our own infrastructure, but that’s the nuts and bolts of it.

Another form of aid to Egypt (and other nations) is the Commodity Import Program, where the U.S. gives Egypt millions in economic aid to import U.S. goods. The State Department says this program is “one of the largest and most popular USAID programs.” Again, we aid other nations by providing credit to buy from Americans.

Not all our programs are successful, but abandoning these countries may be worse for us in the long run. And just for the record, while Egypt is the second largest recipient of American funding (second only to Israel) the per capita spending is far below nations like Jordan.

      • Karolyn

Like Romney will cut off aid to Egypt?

    • Doc Sarvis

      Right you are Jon.

Komrade Jon, the owner of the NY Jets, when asked if he would rather his team have winning season this year or see barack hussein oblama defeated, opts for the latter. Talk about “enough said”! I don’t know if the Jets have the capacity to route any other NFL team this year, but the “private sector” of this country will put a route together and send this “fraud” packing. This will be the BEST INVESTMENT made by the “Private Sector” this year.

BETTER CHOICE? A man who has spent more money foolishly than all our presidents put together. He just gave billions to Egypt. Putting us more in debt. He has continually gave money to other countries—WHICH IS BORROWED MONEY. He has also taken more vacations than any other sitting president. His wife can also keep up to him in spending. She is no Jackie Kennedy. He’s no Truman, Kennedy or Reagan. He couldn’t come up to their shoe laces. He may be your president, he isn’t mine.

If you do then you can kiss them good-bye because that idiot is going to get rid of the 2nd amendment. Can’t you see how he is destroying the Constitution? Can’t you see that he is destroying everything that our forefathers stood for? He has been in office for 31/2 years and he is still blaming Bush for things that Bush now has nothing to do with. His presidency is all about himself instead of being “of the people, for the people, and by the people.” You can tell that by the way he crams stuff down our throats without having the congress in on it like when he got rid of the welfare to work program. He wants it to where everybody is gonna have to depend on the government for things, beginning with healthcare. You can vote for this idiot all you want but I’m not. I’m going to vote for the one that wants to put God and Christianity first and put God back into schools and not the one who believe in the Muslim Religion. Wake up man! Quit smoking those funny little cigarettes that messes with the mind and get real man! VOTE FOR ROMNEY; HE BELIEVES IN AMERICA

The problem with the electorate is that most are so stupid that they do not know how stupid they are. Obama represents the biggest threat to the America our Founding Fathers envisioned. The damage to our country must be stopped.
Romney may not be as conservative as many of us would like, but he will be good for business and for the middle class. I do not care about his religion. His being a Mormon is better than Obama’s self-admitted Muslim faith.
Four more years of Obama will be so destructive to our country that there will be little to save in 2016.

    • Fredo

@BillBranch, you said “Obama represents the biggest threat to the America our Founding Fathers envisioned.” I could not have said it better. It is true, and I am amazed at how many people simply do not see this. How could a true American vote for obeyme? America stands for so many things that obeyme does not, and he means to take our country down to a level of existence that true Americans will not accept. True Americans reject obeyme 100% and will not accept any more of his destructive ways. November 6th, and obeyme is gone. I epxect ot see a “Chick Fil A” day on election day. Liberals will be shocked at our conservative turnout, just like they were on 2010.

        Well said!

      • Joe Hammond

Fredo, although it is possible for the majority of the vote to be conservative, that does not mean that a conservative will be president (Bush vs Gore: 2000). IN the states that Romney has to win such as Florida, Ohio, Nevada, Colorado, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Virginia Obama is beating Romney strongly. And most of this is due to the rejection of the social agenda put forward by rich white males which condemns women to second class status when it comes to health care decisions and contraception. “Forcible Rape” is an idea that has struck women as invasive and unrelenting in its attack on them. Romney has lost Blacks, Hispanics, women, college educated youth, and about 45% of white males…not to mention the defection of the over 65 crowd when it comes to medicare….This is not a receipe for success….And yet, stranger things have happened (Bush vs Gore: 2000)…..

      • william mcdonald

Joe.. get into drug rehab!… Your facts about losing support among those groups are attributed to Obama!… Please, please, please tell me you don’t vote or more importantly, you don’t spread your gene’s any further…

It’s so obvious to me that Obama has been using the media and his position as President for personal gain. What kind of an example is he setting. I don’t think there is any more left then this clown. If all of his policies were enacted everyone would be a conervative because there would not be any more room available to move left. It surprises me that people believe he is a good moral person with the principles he stands for. I would like to hear one honest explanation. I think it would sound something like “I’m afraid to admit I made a miste”.

    • http://Facebook Rosemary Roy

Well said Bill branch–how sad to see the country I love go down–all because the people in this country can’t see the trees because of the forest. They have no idea what’s happening. I rode around with a sign for a long time—”I love my country, but I fear my government?

  • mathis1689

I remember reading somewhere that God gives a nation the leaders that it deserves. I believe that is probably our case. Neither Romney or Obama is fit to lick the boots of a real statesman but where are we going to find any? People who actually believe that the Constitution says what it means and means what it says are about as rare as cold water in Hell.

    • Incredulous

It’s found in Daniel chapter 4. The Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.

  • Flashy

President Obama will win re-election because of one simple fact. he deserves to have four more years resurrecting this nation from the abyss it was driven into by the neo Cons, the Far Right policies of the 00′s, and the redistribution of wealth policies implemented since 1981.

Until the inequities from the past 30 years are corrected, and the Middle Class returned to prosperity, this nation will be unable to take its place on the top of the hill it enjoyed for so long.

The TP and the extremism that has overtaken the GOP presents all that most Americans have time after time succumbed to for short periods, then soundly rejected. That of fear, hate, ignorance. The Deep South has embraced that concept for the peoples of those states are those that are easily swayed by playing on the resentments that poverty and lower education brings. As the wrongs are righted, and America returns to the equalities that enable fluid class movement, the GOP will perhaps reject the extremists…or will become a narrow party replaced in the tiers of power by a more moderate looking political force.

Such is fact, such is reality, and we may give thanks to whomever guidance we believe in…Pres. Obama will have another four years …

    • Ted Crawford

With logic(?) such as that, you would surely be one of the few that would dive into a barrel of Apples, yet emerge sucking on a Rock!

      • Joe Hammond

TC, history tells us that as parties narrow themselves they become less important to the process and eventually disappear. Take the Whigs for example. As they became less inclined to expand the tent they were replaced in the end by the Republican Party of Lincoln. Today, the Republican Party is basically a front for rich white males who have driven away the Hisapnic vote, the Black vote, the woman’s vote, the college educated vote, and are starting to drive away the over 65 vote with their plan for insurance company vouchers instead of medicare. They now represent the blue collar white males and the religious right wingers who believe the world is 5,000 years old and man once rode dinosaurs (too much “Flintstones” growing up I believe). This is not the face of tomorrow in the US. This means that the Republicans are dying unless they change their receipe for inclusion. I do not believe Romney is the type of inspirational leader that Reagon was. Nor is he the type of progessive conservative that Teddy Roosevelt was. Instead, he seems like another corporate stooge who will do as he is told and we all know what that led to when “W.” was president……War, war, and more war! the people of the US want no more wars right now. Romney and Nastyyahoo want a war with 78 million Persians and that will mean 5-8 dollar per gallon gas and perhaps a draft of our young men (and not the ones from the prison education system; they are not qualified since they are felons). No economy can withstand that…..So it would be Hilliary in 2016 with both houses of congress under her control…..Is that what the repubs want?…….

      • Randy G

actully he will get an apple with half a worm.

    • Doc Sarvis

Flashy, you are exactly right. The Republican Party is ruled by a narrow margin of extemists with money. Now of course there is some (not as much) money on the Democratic Party side but the Democrats are bringing in the American people with an inclusive message. We are all Americans and the government is to represent all the people not just those in the top 1% or those that worship the 1%.

      • http://Evangelinestraub@gmail.com Truthical

      • Dussty1

Doc, how can you be so blind? Can’t you recognize that Obama himself (and his wife) are a pair of elitists? Life is good when you’re spending somebody else’s money. Obama has enjoyed a free ride most of his life and has gotten more breaks than most. I believe he does not respect the American People but respects and FEARS the Muslim Brotherhood and that is why he is constantly trying to ingratiate himself with them. He wants all of us depending on gov’t handouts, while he and his friends enjoy life at the top. He’s your typical Communist, and if re-elected, he’ll continue to choose the winners and losers in our society.

      • eddie47d

Yes Truthical there are also freeloaders on top and little out there to stop them from manipulating their tax returns. There are some on the right who call them heros so “your side” also has those skewed thinkers out to benefit themselves.

      • momo

Obama, the pied piper of poverty, has pulled out his flute and begun to play his siren song, and the liberal loons of the left can’t help themselves, they fall in line behind the piper.

The administration of lies and obfuscation, do we really want four more years of that?
Remember “If we pass this stimulus bill unemployment will not go above eight percent”
As a matter of fact according to the piper, it should be about six percent right now, too bad those jobs “weren’t shovel ready.”

And yesterday we find out that this “the most transparent administration in history” left a few things out of the talking points that ambassador Rice spewed forth on the Sunday talk shows. Just a few minor details, like it was a planned terrorist attack by elements of Al Queda, not a something spontaneous like they were claiming. I noticed Hillary didn’t venture forth, I guess she thought lying about the death of the ambassador in her employ would nix her chances in 2016.

Then of course there is Obama’s blatant disregard of over one hundred years of constitutional law, screw the bondholders of GM debt, I’m rewarding my buddies in the UAW. For the government and the taxpayer to break even in this deal GM stock would have to hit 53 a share, right now its at 23.62.

I’m not a big Romney fan, but I have questions about a guy, who when he was in Chicago, defended a slum lord who turned off the heat to his tenants when the temperature was 11 degrees below zero. What a fine champion of the downtrodden. Meanwhile his other client, and also a political contributer, is serving a federal prison sentence.

Noble? The USA is a noble nation-state? Obviously you are not a student of history. The “noble” USA used genocide, lies, treaty abandonment, cultural destruction on the Native Americans to steal land and children from those tribes even after they had signed and agreed to treaties that were voted on by congress. They used the Chinese to build the railroads from the west to the east and then passed laws against them from engaging in any work but what the weaqlthy white males thought they should do. Blacks were slaves and didn’t get their voting rights until 1965. Japanese Americans lost their property in World War 2 as they were rounded up in the continental US and placed in concentration camps. We claim we won World War 2 by ourselves forgetting on purpose the contributions of the Russian people. Women were not allowed to vote until 1919. Unions were attacked by militias such as the coal miners in Ludlow, Colorado were. Irish were told to stay away in Boston stores. Hispanics had their land taken from them in a phoney war with Mexico that even Lincoln asked about where it started and why. We invaded Nicarauga and Honduras for the United Fruit Company and east coast investors. We entered World War 1 in order to assure that J. P. Morgan would get back the 3 billion dollars loaned to the allies. The military shot workers, students, and farmworkers in the 1900-1960′s. Our Constitution had racisim written in it as they claimed Blacks were only a percentage of white males and had no rights except as property. We were the last industrialized western nation-state to outlaw child labor in factories and coal mines. We used black males to discover the destructive power of syphillis and never told them what we were doing. We have used soldiers for LSD experiments. Ignorance is considered a virture if it is costumed in religion. Etc., etc., etc……..

Noble? The US is many things but “noble” is not one of them…….

      • eddie47d

A family living in a one bedroom flat that theyare not allowed to own because it is owned by the government. waiting years to buy a car and food items rationed on a daily basis. Take a look at Obama’s native land, that is how he wants the US to be degraded to. Social equality doesn’t sociial degradation it meens the equal oportunity to WORK to get ahead and prosper, not to be given what you neen to exist. Socialism has been tried throughout the centuries and has never worked. A lazy county does not prosper. Take notice of what has happened to all the Obama give-me money. It has all Failed.

      • Joe Hammond

“it meens the equal oportunity to WORK to get ahead and prosper, not to be given what you neen to exist.”

Does that include the wealthy elite who hire their children and place them as the heads of corporations that control the congress through “political contributions” that assure themselves large amounts of governmental aid such as the deal Halliburton made with the US to suppy the military with needs? Or the invasion of nation-states to protect “interests”? Or the deferments from the draft the wealthy give those lovely children of theirs while the middle class awaits the call to duty to serve in wars designed to make more money for the military-industrial complex controlled by the wealthy and their children? Or have you noticed how many “Hollywood actors” seemed to be born into the business rather than attain stardom through competition and talent? Or all the nepotisim that exists in Washington DC and other state capitols? Or how the children of the wealthy get into Ivy League schools without the grades like Bush and Kennedy did?

Could it simply be that we understand the appropiate relationship between our President and ourselves? After all the high sounding words and lofty positioning the President is simply OUR EMPLOYEE! As our employee, his or her responsibility is to carry out our wishes. Our responsibility is to inform them of our wishes and hold them accountable, as we would any other employee, for their success or failure to accomplish their primary responsibilities!
The delusional mantra “We must respect the office” is disfunctional! To be true to that one would have to tender the same Respect to Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Linin, Chavez, Ahmadinejad, ETC. as we do to Washington, Jefferson, Camaron, Merkel, Churchill, Reagan,ETC. Senseless logic!

    • Flashy

He is our employee…and we’ll renew his contract.

My charts have had it 317 solid for the past three weeks, up from 311 the weeks prior. , Pres. Obama could possibly reach up to 321…and anything more than 321 will be a mandate.

The question after that is whether McConnell will steer towards the middle or play to the extremists and his Corporate Controllers.

interesting to watch Gov. Christie of NJ subtly cutting Romney’s throat every opportunity he has … and Ryan keeping an air of separation from his own senior candidate.

      • Warrior

“My Charts”? Time to put your crayons back in the box and take your nappy.

      • Joe Hammond

The debates are the last gasp of a dying campaign for Romney. Those who claim you need to put your crayons away are the same “intellects” who think the world is 5,000 years old and the Flintstones are historically accurate. The same people who divide rape into “forcible and non-forcible”. The same group who feel that the US has a right to everything everyone else owns because we are “special”. These are the compassionate who force women to bear children they do not want and then demand that no government aid be provided for that child. And then say that contraception is the “way of the devil”. They hate welfare unless it is given to the oil companies so they can have low cost fuel for their low milage SUVs. These are the mass consumers of sports and entertainment television. These are the ones who claim they are just as good a driver while texting as they are while drinking. The ones who demand the police protected their property in the gated communities rather than try to snuff out crime in the ghettos. Who think prayer replaces food as true nutrition. Who are all for war as long as their children are not put in harm’s way.

        Our intellectual elite Tea Drinkers……….

      • Frank Kahn

Wow, thanks Flashy, I didnt know I could make someone win the election by creating my own charts!!!! Was so inspired I got out my graph paper and made some very sophisticated looking charts that show MIckey Mouse winning with 422. So now our great nation will be saved by my choice for president, and everybody loves MIckey Mouse, probably even better than Obama. Well not everyone, I guess the Muslims will hate him because he is a cartoon created in a Christian nation.

      • momo

@Frank Kahn, Mickey Mouse is already in the White House Frank.

      • Flashy

Frank…nice. let me know how you can do that…I was referring to the charts I have forecasting the result of the General Election. A year ago the only GOP candidate i had as “odds on” to unseat this president was huntsman. Once it was apparent the radical extremists were going to demand a weak losing extremist candidate, the map changed and I never had Pres. Obama being likely to be unseated.

The low i ever had it was 292 electoral votes for the President…currently the swing is between 302 and 356 depending on swing states.

Right now, I have it 317 or 321…personally, I think the president will hit 332 or above, sweeping the eight “swing states’ plus grab North Carolina. If it’s an avalanche, Missouri could swing Blue as well.

I’m not talking personal preferences citing the 317-321… that’s a somewhat conservative forecast looking at the polls, the demographics, the economic numbers, and assuming the world behaves this next month and neither candidate makes a major error….

The Dems will keep the Senate and the House is in play. Though not likely to be Democrat, there are a few scenario’s which it may well be if Obama’s lead widens or the GOP fractures as the Romney campaign blows up. And yes, i do see it blowing up. The signs are there with Christie being the most open in slashing and hacking at Romney as he pretends not to and Ryan keeping an arms length distance from the overall campaign.

        • Frank Kahn

So instead of your charts you meant your notes. NO intelligent system of analysis involved, just regurgitating what the polls say. To be taken seriously you need to choose your words more carefully, you dont have charts showing this, you might have a chart showing the trend of polling statistics but that is a different thing.

Polls are not so much of a predictor as a manipulator. They can be used to convince the overall populace that a certain event will definitely happen, even though that may not be the case if no poll influence is used. Also polls are highly suspect in two major areas: 1 the demographics of the sample will tilt the results toward whatever demographic used is leaning towards. 2. The wording of the questions in the poll might themselves elicit answers that are contrary to the intent of the person answering them. An example of a bad question might be, Do you think Obama kept all his promises from his first campaign?. If the person evaluating that question is honest and reliable he will say that a person who answered NO thinks that some of Obamas promises were not completed as stated. If the evaluator is wanting Obama to lose he would say the person said Obama is a Liar. All rational citizens in this country would have to respond with a NO, which would make the statistic “All Americans consider Obama to be a liar.”. I am sure you would agree that that statistical conclusion is wrong. And I am also sure you would prevaricate by claiming that some “delusional” people might answer YES. But that is beside the point.

Now we have statistics from a poll that shows that nobody in the US trusts Obama. Everyone reads and believes the poll, what happens? Many who would have voted for Obama decide not to because everyone else says he is a liar.

The same possibility exists when the polls say Romney has no chance of winning the election. Many of his supporters might decide not to vote because it is a lost cause.

It is possible, no matter how unlikely, that the mainstream polls are using bad demographics and slanted questions to produce just this result. So your chart about the poll results is not a predictive chart so much as a chart of the attempt to disenfranchise the Romney supporters in this election.

If you think that this last proposition is impossible and would never happen, I would ask you to research a history of the national presidential elections. There was an election where reporting of the vote counts (less than 10% counted) coupled with exit polls showed one candidate would win. This prediction occured many hours before the end of the time for voting in all the western states (including California which has a large block of electoral votes). By analyzing the voter turn out in the western states compared to past percentages it was determined that the early presumption that one candidate had already won caused many voters to not vote. This resulted in a change where now it is not allowed for any national news organization to predict the outcome of a national election prior to the close of all voting polls.

      • momo

Gee, Flashy, maybe you can get a job on MSNBC, and feel a tingle going up your leg.

      • Flashy

Frank…I well know the difference. The one good use of polls is to note trends…the numbers are fairly vague. The use of cell phones, changing voter demographics, the unknown as to the rising immigrant vote, and people catching on and playing with the pollsters and giving false info. The public polls you see are using old technology with today’s modern tech taking reliability out of many of the “numbers” ….

BTW…did you catch the China trade numbers of late? Take a good gander at ‘em. Three years …then Europe had best be well on the way to recovery because China is headed for some significant issues and will be facing the music right about then. they can’t put off the economic reality much longer.

  • Hedgehog

    Ben:

I can’t disagree with you, but from where I sit up here in Canada, I think you are wrong! The way I read the tea leaves, you are stuck with Obama for the foreseeable future, because:

Most probable scenario; there will be no election in November! There will be a false flag incident and Obama will declare martial law, suspend the election and the constitution and rule as dictator until he is overthrown or assassinated.

Second most probable scenario; Obama will lose the election! But before Romney can be inaugurated a false flag incident will occur. Obama will declare martial law, suspend the constitution, arrest any and all that he feels will threaten his rule, whisk them off to be executed without trial, and rule as dictator until he is overthrown or assassinated.

Third most probable scenario; Obama will win the election by fraud! A false flag incident will occur. Obama will declare martial law, and events will proceed as in scenario number two.

Please note that I have not posited a scenario in which Obama wins a November election honestly! That probability is so improbable that I see no sign of it at all.

    To the American People:

I advise you to arm yourselves and prepare for revolution and civil war. Obama’s government departments are not buying millions of rounds of ammunition and militarizing your police forces because they love you!

      • DAK

Since no one has answered, I will answer myself. Obama hasn’t done ANYTHING unconstitutional and I can prove it by one simple fact. If he had, there would be a line over a mile long of GOP politicians taking him to court or impeaching him or putting him in prison and since there isn’t…. Well, if Obama was only HALF as bad, done even HALF the evil the far right accuses him of, there wouldn’t be time for anything other than the court or the gallows for Obama. The intelligent GOP knows Obama hasn’t done anything half as bad as they say (or else they wouldn’t need to lie constantly, 24 / 7 about his record) and since they do… it is all just noise to distract people from the Republicans own failures. (The GOP controlled Congress and the WH for what, 6 of 8 years and did nothing but foul up the economy? Unfunded wars? Unfunded tax cuts? Unfunded drug plans? They did NOT fix immigration, our infastructure, our schools or any of the other things they blame Obama for not doing now…) It is always easier to blame others than to offer solutions and since 2008, the Republicans have had a perfect target for their anger, blame and lies; a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

The outcome is the same if either Obama or Romney wins,
Vote for Gary Johnson for change that you can believe in.

  • DaveH

Romney isn’t going to win anyway (according to this article):
    http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/breakout/romney-90-seconds-save-campaign-schoenberger-131304355.html
Why not do the right thing? Why not vote for a Principled guy who is running as the Presidential candidate for the Principled Party — the Libertarian Party?
Why throw your vote away to Romney who is just Obama-lite, when you can vote for Freedom?
Why vote for the Lesser of Two Evils (still just evil) when you can vote for Goodness?
Why not give the only party that truly understands Freedom the chance for more attention from the Propagandized people who have been kept in the dark by the MSM because their Masters (Power-hungry Politicians, Bankers, and Crony Capitalists) know that Libertarians stand for Free Markets and Sound Money in which case the Bankers and the Crony Capitalists would have to compete for their customers instead of being Protected from Competition by their Crony Politicians?
    Vote for Gary Johnson.

Obama is terrible. Romney is horrible. Where on the ballot does it say “none of the above”? That’s the real problem.

Obama may actually lose black votes this time around. Maybe not enough to make
a difference but a lot of black guys are sick that Obama now promotes black guys having
sex with other black guys. He’s out of the closet. This is a big turnoff to black ministers and the black community as a whole. They just may not turnout or have a hard time pulling that lever.

  • Dwight Mann

IMHO Romney is going to win by a landslide. I am not all that pleased with this proposition, but it sure does beat what the other option is. . .
I am sick of the corruption in the political process. I needs to have a lot more honesty, or we revolt.
A Spanish company, owned by Soros is counting the votes, and there will be no paper trail. It is our election, it should be our right to tabulate. Nothing else can be justified, as an American Election.
The powers that be want to destroy us, and make us into economic slaves.
We will not be having any of that, and that is a promise. . .

just a short comment on the “Soros is counting the votes” claim…another bogeyman rambling around the ‘net adding to the lies. Ever stop to think each state is responsible for it’s own vote counting method? So it would be literally impossible for any one entity to “count all the votes” ?

  • DAK

Here is my prediction for November. It is just that, a prediction based on my own personal observances and thoughts. No polls, no web sites to check, no links… just what I think will happen.

Obama will not win the election as much as Romney will lose the election. Mitt will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and will go down in a blaze of glory, whining and crying all the way through his concession speech. Obama will get another 4 years as President, Romney will be out of the public spotlight never to be heard from again outside the business pages of some obscure paper and Paul Ryan will lose his seat as well.

However, the GOP will refuse to take heed and will continue to block everything, filibuster every bill, blame everything on Obama and hope this country doesn’t fall completely by 2016, when they will run an even worse candidate and they will lose again. Perhaps by 2020, the GOP will realize they need to cast the crazies, the fringe, the nut jobs out of their party and actually try and govern on something more than I’m better than the other guy. You know, like present a viable idea backed up by actual facts, present a plan of action in order to achieve the stated goal, and then honestly try and compromise with those that may disagree without calling names or bullying.

    • Dussty1

You mention Paul Ryan, the only Congressman who can articulate the numbers and the MASSIVE DEBT CLIFF we are about to go over. I guess you think Harry Reid is a better leader for refusing to even PASS A BUDGET! “Try to govern on something more than I’m better than the other guy.” Do you really believe that’s what we think? You knock us because we’d rather WORK than TAKE from somebody else. You understand that if we all stayed home there wouldn’t be any money for ANYBODY. In your opinion, hard work and morality make us extremists. What has happened in this country is immoral, creating massive debt to be inherited by those coming after us. We are enslaving them all and weakening the country.

      • DAK

Never said anything about Reid. Never said anything about what I thought of “you” or “them,” about working or taking or any of that stuff. Trying reading what I wrote and then try and understand what I wrote. It is my prediction, my opinion. Not a judgement on “your team” other than they have placed party ahead of country since 2008 and are happy to do it and if the country fails, that’s OK as long as Obama gets the blame and pays the price.

      • DAK

And yes, that’s what I really think. NO ONE has given me one reason to vote for Romney, and I asked months ago and have yet to get an answer. Of course, I did make it a hard question because I said an answer of “He isn’t Obama” wasn’t a reason. So I do think Mitt could be Mr. X and still get some votes for the fact that those that hate Obama will vote for anyone that isn’t Obama… reguardless of if that Mr. X has any better ideas or better plans.

      • Flashy

DAK…the way i see it..with the TP trilogy of anger, fear and ignorance on full display and leading closed simplistic minds,…i could run against Obama and these folks would vote for me.

My thought process is probably 80% Republican, but for some reason, that’s just not good enough. Romney, according to a lot of you, by implication is crap. While I don’t agree with him 100%, I don’t believe there is anyone who I would agree with 100%. Romney is self made, even though he came from a rich family. He seems to be one hell of a business man, and maybe he’s just what this country needs right now.

obama’s past is too muddied for anyone to trust him with this semi important job. his first 5 years are spent as an infant in hawaii. hawaii. pretty mainstream, hah? then his next 5 years are spent in jakarta indonesia. typical middle america. he returns to hawaii and attends a private school from 5th grade through 12th grade, and again this is what the average student does. everyone goes to prestigious private schools. then he attends occidental college and then columbia university pass/fail. this is why his records are closed. pass/fail is for the lazy students who just want to get college over with. he works as a community organizer for the roseland part of chicago for several years, this is a ratty black slum, so he lives in hoity toity hyde park. just where he can be quickly located if a situation comes up. as a c/o he was actually hired by the catholic church, he wasn’t any city or federal employee. then he gets into harvard using affirmative action quotas. otherwise they would never take an obscure nobody with no money and not even grades. the question is, who paid for all this $50,000 worth of college. his mother was off in indonesia working as an anthropologist and his father was a failed bureaucrat in nairobi, and it takes some doing to stand out as a failure there. there are conspiracy theories that he was being subsidized by george soros, etc, but why would he pick anyone so unlikely? in his own books he admits he doped and drank his way through school, punaho high in honolulu included. so let’s all vote for him, he’s folks like us.

Romney is first-rate. He will make a fine president.
And the economic situation will improve for Americans
in general within one month after his inauguration.

    • Joe Hammond

Even the big money is starting to run from Romney. He is lost. He has no plan just platitudes. Even Ryan won’t defend his budget because “there just isn’t enough time to go over the math”. Romney has no plan for the economy, for Iran, for immigration, for education other than “I will make it better!” Obama has no plan either. This is fundamentally a planless enterprise between 2 people who I wouldn’t even let on my lawn much less have into my house.

But Wall Street loves them because they own them………

      • Dussty1

I did not want Romney to be the nominee. However, he is a businessman and I won’t condemn him for being successful. He’s an example of an American success story. Here we go, people will jump on me for saying that. Obama was a “community organizer.” Give me a break, OK? Most people can’t afford to “community organize” because they need a job to feed and house their families. Obama’s no saint. Between the two of them, I think Romney might have a better idea how to create jobs.

A vote for Ombinny is a vote for America’s funeral. We are currently in the “wake” stage, pre-funeral. Romney at least is a Christian in every since of the word and believes in God – which O disdains. Romney has been given a raw deal in the media thanks to the O-machine. What I fear most is what O will pull before an election can even occur – an EO to stop it altogether by way of national emergency, thereby cementing his presence forever. Wake up America, this is our final warning.

Mitt is a Christian in every sense of the word? Ask the kid whose hair he cut while in prep school. Ask the employees of the companies he shuttered.

      Romney believes in Mammon.

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” – Matthew 6:19-21,24 (KJV)

    • Joe Hammond

As a Mormon he also believes that Lucifer was the spirit brother to Jesus. Jeusu also had 3 wives: Martha, Mary, and Mary Magdalene. He also fathered children.

The Book of Mormon is a book of LDS scripture that takes place during the same time as the Bible and takes place on the American continent. It follows the stories of two tribes who descended from the family of Lehi. After Jesus’ resurrection LDS people believe he visited the peoples of the Americas.

While most religions believe in God, the LDS religion believes in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit as separate beings. They also believe that God, Jesus and resurrected beings have bodies of “flesh and bone.”

In the LDS religion any worthy male can be given the priesthood and is given specific duties. Black people were not allowed to have the priesthood until 1978. Females are not allowed to have the priesthood.

In LDS doctrine there are three heavens: the Celestial Kingdom, Terrestrial Kingdom, and Telestial Kingdom. The Celestial is the highest, where God and the ones who followed his law reside. The Terrestrial is the middle, where people who followed the Law of Moses reside. The Telestial is the lowest, where the ones who followed carnal law reside.

Mormons believe that God created multiple worlds and each world has people living on it. They also believe that multiple Gods exist but each has their own universe. We are only subject to our God and if we obtain the highest level of heaven we can become gods ourselves.

This one is very unique to the LDS faith. Basically, everyone on earth now was a spirit in the pre-existence. When we die, our spirits are separated from our bodies and if we were good they go to “spirit paradise.” If we were bad they go to “spirit prison.” The spirit world exists as a place for spirits to go while awaiting the second coming.

While tithes are not uncommon among religion, rarely are they mandatory. LDS theology states that in order to make it to the highest kingdom of heaven, you must pay a full and honest tithe.

Not really happy about knowing that I’ll wake up on November 7th either feeling bad because Romney won or worse because Obama did. Hoping that if Romney wins he’ll surprise me by being a president instead of a resident; but doubtful.

  • michael a. bimonte

Ben, I dearly hope you are right about this election; I personally do not have as much confidence that the masses have finally educated themselves. I too, am not in love with
Romney-my personal wish list would certainly prefer Jim Demint or Rand Paul, for example, but first things first. We MUST remove this president, a statist who has trampled on the constitution. If you think Act 1 was bad, just wait for Act 2, when this charlatan no
    longer has a reelection worries.

  • DAK

    From the National Memo:

“The most important thing for us is that even if [Romney] doesn’t win now, he or a person with similar views may come to power in four years. We must take that into consideration while dealing with security issues for a long perspective,” Putin said.

Putin’s comments reinforce the serious policy implications that come along with Romney’s bombastic rhetoric. Although his stance on Russia has primarily been met with mockery — as when Senator John Kerry joked at the Democratic Convention that “Mitt Romney talks like he’s only seen Russia by watching Rocky IV” — nuclear security is clearly no laughing matter. That Romney has managed to damage U.S.-Russian relations without even holding a government job should be filed along with his bungled response to the current crisis in Libya and his reckless remarks in Jerusalem over the summer as reasons to seriously doubt his capacity to manage American foreign policy.

  • Louis Lemieux

Some people just can’t understand that someone else can have a different political perception of reality than their’s, so the only thing they know what to do is demean them in any way they can. If a majority doesn’t agree with them they somewhat conclude: “I’m right and the world is wrong!“ What an absurdity!

Rosemary, says: WHEN HAS HE FOLLOWED OUR CONSTITUTION? I saw with my own eyes. when he did not honor our flag. Also[[if going to a church with a minister who preaches against this country is what you call a true AMERICAN, then stick by him. I’m 77, and won’t have to see much longer the damage he has and will do. I feel sorry for the younger generation. ================
Honoring our flag has nothing to do with going against the Constitution. Same as what church he went to (or goes to for that matter) People like me? I spent 27 years of my life in the military and went to 2 wars for “people like you” who care more for their political party than our country and since he isn’t your President, when will you be moving to Korea or Iran? They have the kind of government YOU want.

Is Obama another Truman, Kennedy or Reagan? Nope. Neither is Romney and neither was Bush. You still didn’t answer what he has done that is unconstitutional… must be because he hasn’t done anything unconstitutional. It is all hatred and bias from the Right and you are their number one parrot.

        • http://Facebook Rosemary Roy

Now let me tell YOU something–I had a father in WW1–brother in WW2, two brothers in the Korean conflict nephews in Viet Nam, Saudi Arabia, Afganistan. One is retiring when he his last promotion, hopefully to Major. He was a helicopter pilot. My brother came home from Korea with 3 purple hearts, 2 bronze stars, a silver star and the peace medal of Korea. He also died at 68 from his injuries. They could never get the shrapnel out of his spine. I doubt you could have walked in their shoes. And I always gave and give to our men and women in the service.

      • DAK

This is also in reply to Rosemary. I have a question for you. If Obama is this country’s president, how can he not be your president as well? I assume you are a citizen, right? Then he is your president.

Then there is your question as to “Why don’t you watch news stations who show in black and white the damage he’s done.” Why do you think they are the only correct news channels? There are two sids to every story and if you are only shown one… then I would question the motives of the ones telling you that one side and not the other.

Look, I understand you don’t like Obama. Never said I liked him either, (but I certainly dislike Romney more that Obama) and there are many many people who don’t like him for any number of reasons. I just asked about the unconstitutional things he’s done because I looked on the web and couldn’t find one credible source so I was thinking may be some one else could provide some facts to back up their claims. Since they didn’t (or can’t) then the only logical conclusion is he hasn’t.

      • DAK

Sorry about your brother and I too have lost family and friends in war. Doesn’t mean I hate the president who sent me or them into a war. You don’t know me or what shoes I can fill, but I wouldn’t want to try and fill other people’s shoes; I have my own GI boots.

      • http://Facebook Rosemary Roy

Why don’t YOU move to Korea. If you don’t think not honoring our flag is un-American, I have no idea what you did in the service. As Jefferson said “When government becomes so large it no longer represents the people–it is time for the people to revolt. Have you seen how much he has enlarged the government? He probably will get re=elected. He just made thousands of immigrants citizens. Why do you think he did that? I don’t know what planet your from, but it’s not the one I grew up in.As for our constitution–that’s being debated right now in the US supreme court. The Honorable Scalia certainly doesn’t agree with his tactics, and HE taught the constitution before becoming a Supreme court judge.

I’m talking about Anwar al Awlaki, born in the United States, killed in Yemen by a drone attack, a killing sanctioned by Obama and his GOP partners in crime. So much for due process. And before you tell me he was a terrorist, under the (un)Patriot Act all the feds need is to think you’re a terrorist and your 4th amendment rights are void, and from this example your 6th amendment rights also.

Al awlaki’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the feds in July, it will be interesting how it plays out.

When that happens we jump and make quick decisions out of frustration and fear where is your FAITH? Romeny is NOT going to make things BETTER! WHY NOT? It is certain our government can’t run our country. Our SS is broke, because they kept taking from it. Our Post Offices are broke. If you have read the papers lately—thousands are loosing their jobs. OBAMA CERTAINLY. CAN’T RUN IT. As I stated–he has borrowed more money than all our presidents put together. He just gave another ten billion away to Egypt. We can only pay the interest on our loans nothing on the principal. I noticed someone said he inherited it from Bush. And what did Bush inherit from Clinton—NAFTA. If that person knows any thing at all— Nafta was for our South American countries ONLY. The last year of the Clinton administration he revised Nafta to include Asian and European countries. When that happened, there was a great movement out of this country. What a legacy for the young people to inherit. I have voted both ways in my voting years. But I certainly won’t vote for another man like Hitler

I know in no way shape or form that I am GOD never have and never will be, All I’m saying is that people should put their trust more in GOD than in MAN although we do have presidents people need to look at the whole pic and not half the pic. I believe that Rosemary said that Obama was spending a whole lot of unnecessary money Some times when you are trying to clean up some body else’ s mess you have to sometimes spend money to try and get things straight! We are not behind close doors at the white house we don’t see what Obama see’s all we see is the after effects of what he has to do is to try and bring things together, Yes! jobs where lost at the same time some were won and other things happen therefore you have to lose some to win some to try and get it back on track! Like I said Romney can not make things better by using his Corp. POWER playing money GREED sly ways to run this Country it will only start a WAR here in the US!

(For the (LOVE) of MONEY is the root of all EVIL) Help us GOD…

    • Frank Kahn

I was only pointing out that you used trust in GOD and trust me in the same sentence which made it look like you were saying it was the same thing. I knew it was just a grammatical error.

I disagree a little with your statement of money is the root of all evil. Actually it is greed (the love and worship of material things) that is a major sin. There is a place in the Bible where it says, if you desire the things of the world you dont desire me. I am paraphrasing but it was Gods way of saying dont covet worldly things if you want to be with him.

    • Susan Atwood

How do you know Mr. Romney can’t make things better?

  • Alisa

Wow! Mr Chuck GOD has no respect of person no respect of religion he sees us all as one his children, All Obama is trying to do is show no respect of person giving ea. one a chance even the Gay community I don’t believe in same sex marriage therefore at the same time who am I to say? There’s no perfect one we all have faults, What we need to do is to let GOD do the judging love one another the best way we can for that we must do is to make it into HEAVEN!

  • Strighttothepoint!!!!!

      Straightothepoint:

Please name the state that removed Obama from the ballot?

I will never hear back from you because your claim is utterly false.

Why do you “conservatives” continue to say thinks that are not true???

      • http://smoovious.wordpress.com Smoovious Laxness

It was probably the last one… that 57th state that got added a couple years ago…

You know the one… Obama even said we had 57 states now…

You should keep up on current events, he’s been adding states like crazy the past several years…

        – Smoov

        • Jack

          Smoovious Laxness:

The sad thing about your comment is that some “conservatives” will read it and believe that there are now 57 states and that Obama has said that there is.

          • http://Facebook Rosemary Roy

JACK—YOUR Brilliant–I didn’t even write that comment your accusing me of. You are right about one thing. I am an independent conservative. As President Reagan said–Quote “The nine most terrifying words in the English language–I’m from the government, and I’m here to help” unquote. That quote certainly applies to Obama and his administration.

who identified themself as “Smoovious laxness”.

Neither your name or one of your posts was ever mentioned in my two posts or the ones of “Straightothepoint” and Smoovious laxness” that I was referring to.

Please put your glasses on and go back to where my posts appear (currently about 12 from the end of the string) and reread them. I wil look forward to seeing your post that you incorrectly claimed I was referring to you just as I am waiting for Straighttothepoint to name the state which removed Obama from the ballot.

            Rosemary Roy:

            Thank you for the posts.

If you would have taken a few minutes and researched the matter further you would
have found that the Petition of a Mr. Joe Montgomery, a Republican, was withdrawn
and the matter closed on Sept. 17, 2012. The Petition was based on the discredited
claim that Obama was not born in Hawaii.

You would also have found that the Kansas State Objections Board is made up of
three Republicans – Kris W. Kubach, Derek Schmidt and Jeff Colyer. Hardly an
            impartial group.

          • http://Facebook Rosemary Roy

Jack, I did look it up further. I know the results. I only sent that to you—so you could look it up, because you wanted some answers. Personally I don’t care one way or the other. I’m an independent and have always voted both ways. This election I’m voted against all the one for Congress that I voted for in the last election. They haven’t done any thing. What a disgusting mess.

          • http://Facebook Rosemary Roy

The last sentence is about something else. I copied it from the web on Ask.com. Just ask the question and it give a lot of answers.

Gary Johnson has a much better chance at winning than Romney(unless you trust polls). It seems as if Romney is throwing the election. I am no pot head but for Romney to say he will deny states rights and fight medical marijuana and industrial hemp “tooth and nail” isn’t doing him any help. I don’t see how anyone but the folks wanting a Theocracy could vote for him. Paul Ryan is spending 3 times the money as 2010 to keep his seat in congress. His ads even say Paul Ryan for congress. I think Johnson takes more votes from Obama than Romney due to his civil liberties stances.

  • justin

Its never good enough to have a choice between the ‘lesser’ of two evils. Evil is evil. How sad the American people ALWAYS seem to want to choose the better of two bad, instead of the best of the best. It is pathetic!>:(

  • Tag

Sure, I’d vote for Romney just to get the loser out of the white house NOW! At least Romney appears to KNOW how the world operates when the loser only knows what happens within his own little circle as long as he’s on vacation! What a colossal joke this oskunko has turned out to be – an arrogant, egotistical, and really stupid, waste of oxygen and space! Be gone, oh evil one!

    “Doc Sarvis says:

    Doug,
President Obama is an optimistic leader. He champions the positive outcomes.”

Doc, I assume “Doc” is a nickname for you, you don’t sound like you have the intelligence to survive medical school. oBlamer is only optimistic in the fact that he plans to destroy this country and it’s working. Is that a positive outcome for you? When did you first start thinking like a communist, Doc?? Was it when you couldn’t pass those hard tests in med school, and started thinking it would be nice if all the grades were averaged so you might squeak out a passing grade?? I just marvel at your continuing idiocy, and I wonder why you hang out in this room? Why don’t you go over to the communist blogs where your views will be accepted. Take JON, Tazio2013, Eddie, Vigilant, and all the other commies with you. Please.

Much as I may hate to admit it, Ben has a VERY good point. Roosevelt didn’t defeat Hoover in 1932 because he was Roosevelt, he did it because he was NOT Hoover, and ended up doing the same things that Hoover did for 8 of 11 years. However, where Ben misses it, Romney has and had at least SOME “real world” experience (i.e., private sector success AND governing, as opposed to legislating by being “present”), both areas where our “current annointed messiah” has been sadly deficient.

  • Chris

I beg to quibble on the idea that Obama is our first “celebrity president”. Clinton certainly fit that description as well. Democrats are celebrity politicians. No true statesman has come out of the Democrat party for generations.

As to the question of Romney not being the “perfect conservative/libertarian”, Democrats and their socialist/marxist/collectivistic kin have been waging an incremental war to undermine the ideals of liberty, property, and economic freedom since before the current Constitution was ratified. Obama is the poster child (and hopefully high water mark) of their “long war” success.

Conservatives and libertarians – and classical liberals – seem all too quick to surrender the fight, continuing to hold to some sort of “if we can’t have it all we’d rather have nothing” strategy.

Which is really a sour grapes kind of laziness.

Romney is no Reagan. He’s not even conservative by nature. The language of conservativsm and libertarianism is a learned language – and you can always tell someone who is not a native speaker.

My greatest fear is that Romney will turn out to be a Bloomburg RINO squish who will talk the talk but govern in a vain attempt to appease and to be liked by the marxist and fascist hordes of the left.

Romney will need to be surrounded by principled conservatives who will hold him to the straight and narrow. His selection of Paul Ryan is a positive and hopeful sign in that regard.

Like getting fat, it took us a long time and many small bites to fall from being the torchlight of freedom in the world, to where we are now. There are millions of socialist true-believers and their parasitic sychophants who have infiltrated into positions of influence and power, from the farm to the church parish.

None of this will be un-done overnight. The election of Mitt Romney over all that Barack Hussein “Zero” Obama represents and stands for will be a positive first step in the right direction, that will need to be followed by many more steps – and elections – yet to come.

Maybe you have good objective reasons to dislike Mitt Romney. Maybe you actually live in a collectivist world of delusion, or have merely allowed yourself to be swayed by collectivist propaganda and distortion.

Back in 1980, I was a young mind full of mush who was swayed by the anamosity on both sides aimed at Ronald Reagan. Whatever doubts I had about him were proven very wrong. I hope Mitt Romney proves me and his other doubters just as wrong.

We may not like our options, but we only have two of them. One absolutely guarantees disaster. The other presents an opportunity.

This is no time to go all wobbly.

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh ,
had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent
    form of government.
A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can
vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.
From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the
most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally
collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has
    been about 200 years.
During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

    From bondage to spiritual faith;
    From spiritual faith to great courage;
    From courage to liberty;
    From liberty to abundance;
    From abundance to complacency;
    From complacency to apathy;
    From apathy to dependence;

    From dependence back into bondage.”
    The Obituary follows:

    Born 1776, Died 2012
It doesn’t hurt to read this several times.

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul , Minnesota ,
points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million McCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was
mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income
    From complacency to apathy;
    From apathy to dependence;

    From dependence back into bondage.”

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was
mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income
tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
“complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy,
with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached
    the “governmental dependency” phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal
invaders called illegal’s – and they vote – then we can say goodbye to the
USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at
stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom..
