Texas Representative Threatens Obama Impeachment Over Guns

Texas Representative Threatens Obama Impeachment Over Guns

Representative Steve Stockman (R-Texas) said yesterday that he would “seek to thwart” any attempts of executive action to implement stricter gun-control laws in the United States, even if it means “filing articles of impeachment” against President Barack Obama.

In a press conference yesterday, the President said that he was exploring what options he has for implementing stricter gun laws without Congressional approval.

“My understanding is the Vice President’s going to provide a range of steps that we can take to reduce gun violence,” said Obama. “Some of them will require legislation, some of them I can accomplish through executive action. And so I will be reviewing those today, and as I said, I will speak in more detail to what we’re going to go ahead and propose later in the week. But I’m confident that there are some steps that we can take that don’t require legislation and that are within my authority as President, and where you get a step that, has the opportunity to reduce the possibility of gun violence, then I want to go ahead and take it.”

Stockman issued a statement after Obama’s remarks calling the President’s possible use of executive action “an existential threat to this Nation.”

“The White House’s recent announcement they will use executive orders and executive actions to infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms is an unconstitutional and unconscionable attack on the very founding principles of this republic,” Stockman said. “I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment.”

Though Obama said that “responsible gun owners” have no reason for concern, Stockman said that the potential for executive action should worry all Americans.

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms is what has kept this nation free and secure for over 200 years,” he continued. “The very purpose of the Second Amendment is to stop the government from disallowing people the means to defend themselves against tyranny. Any proposal to abuse executive power and infringe upon gun rights must be repelled with the stiffest legislative force possible.

“Under no circumstances whatsoever may the government take any action that disarms any peaceable person — much less without due process through an executive declaration without a vote of Congress or a ruling of a court. The President’s actions are not just an attack on the Constitution and a violation of his sworn oath of office,” he continued. “They are a direct attack on Americans that place all of us in danger. If the President is allowed to suspend constitutional rights on his own personal whims, our free republic has effectively ceased to exist.”

The issue of gun control is complex. The debate so far has been characterised by simplistic views from both sides. But the NRA takes the cake for the dumbest comments, which is a bit of a worry. See this satirical piece on the NRA’s views:

    • Vicki

The issue of gun control is NOT complex. We, the ~300 MILLION who did not shoot anyone are TIRED of being punished for the actions of a few criminals.

      STOP IT.

      • JIMMY

        AMEN SISTER !!!

      • Warrior

Here’s the difference. Progressives obsess all day, every day on how to skirt around the constitution. Conservatives are always in reaction mode on how to protect it.

      • BR549

Finally, a legislator with some cohones. Let’s hope the globalist NWO bankers don’t threaten his family as well. Hopefully, enough people across the country may start asking THEIR legislators why they haven’t joined onto the impeachment bandwagon.

      • Bill

        Well said, Vicki

      • mark

No, it’s not that simple, Vicki. We should close all loopholes that prevent criminal and psychiatric background checks for gun sales at gun shows (something 74% of NRA members agree with as do 82% of all gunowners) and we should limit multi-round clips above 10 rounds for ordinary gun owners. These are very modest proposals that will be hashed out in the legislative process. This is not the end of America, the end of the Second Amendment or the beginning of a dictatorship. They are simply some modest proposals regarding gun legislation most of which will probably never pass. This isn’t a “gun grab” by the left, it is a “money grab” by the NRA, gun industry, and the Far Right who are ginning up their base by exaggerating all this and reaping big money from panicked, frightened contributors and gun buyers.

For Pete Sake’s ~ Look at him! He a ambulance chasing Phil Gramm weasel look-a-like. He ‘s got that Huckabee Christian Right all over his face like peanut butter and jelly on a 4 years old. This is the same man that supported W’s administration’s two wars on rag heads and tax breaks because it was the right thing to do and to hell with everything else or what the ramifications might be.

AMEN, Vickie – Let’s hear it for TEXAS too! Got the dear in headlights blinded & looking

HE should have been impeached years ago. Flaccid congress will placate HIM again, and we will be shafted again.

Right on Girl, Some People just do not seem to understand what real freedom is all about. Also i would like to see this Politician do what he says he will do, But as we all know politicians belong to the same club, Nothing but garbage comes from their Mouths. But i sure would like to be wrong about this Rep. from Texas.

      • thefisherman

No one is trying to take anyones gus away .times change and if you are living in the times of the old west where you need a canon to shoot a rabit and fortify you house from indians you do not need wepons beyond that need .you should join arm service of your choice and shoot away. Unless you are a redneck pickerwood that wants to cry and be heard.

Mark, Here is whats simple, If you don’t want a gun DON’T BUY ONE! If you don’t want an abortion don’t make a baby! Your loose facts and smarmy talk scream “I am a gun hater, my home is gun-free”. If you can’t conclude that there are very real similarities to 1930′s Germany then you are as blind as you sound. Its not just about guns Mark. Obama and his “aparatchiks” are systematically blunting, stopping, and decreeing (by the demigod himself) our freedoms daily. No you say? How about the EPA threatening property seizure over a roadside ditch, on private property that some government idiot decided was a wetland and the EPA would protect it? How about your demigod stopping drilling on public land because he thinks making the public suffer with higher prices will somehow change things. You and all the other obama worshippers don’t have any better answers than ” we’re in charge now”. Before you freak out I will say that the Republican answers often leave a lot to be desired but at least most Republicans have or are able to read the Constitution and COMPREHEND IT!

      • mark

justamused, I own a gun and unlike all you crybaby pantswetters on this site, I have zero fear of the government taking it from me. You know why? Because they are not going to do so.. At most, all that will come out of this bruhaha is a stricter law on background checks and the NRA and gun lobby reaping millions more in donations from suckers like you. The gun industry will also have a huge windfall with all the pantswetters running out to buy more guns and ammo. Other than that nothing will change. Until some nutso Congressman makes a call for some new control in a couple of years, and then all the right- wing blogs and NRA sites go bonkers, pulling all the pantswetters around by the ring they have in their nose for more donations and more gun sales. I’m old enough to have seen this movie a dozen times. It does not impress me. What I don’t understand is how easily you can be manipulated and how millions like you fall for this same old propaganda crap year after year.

      • Howard C

Wow mark you really are as blind as you sound if you don’t think that they will attempt to take guns away from us. It happened after Katrina in New Orleans and they will do it again. A national registry is just the means for them to know where to show up when they decide to start confiscation. If you bought your gun from a store you had to fill out an ATF background form and the store then called them to get go ahead for the sell. That means the the ATF already has your info for when they decided to come get that back from you. My advice is to hide your guns now while you still can. Don’t hide them horizontal to the ground either because satilites can detect the heat signature.

      • eddie47d

Absolutely Mark! The NRA use to be one of the biggest supporters of gun control until 1970 and then they were hijacked by extremists. 40 years later they have gotten worse.

      • mark

Hey Howard, they didn’t take mine after Katrina. Did they take yours? You gave it to them? Did they hand them all back after Katrina? Cause last I checked they’re are about 300 million of them in the U.S., right now. So let’s get this straight, the Bush adminstration took away every Americans’ gun after Katrina, and then they apparently gave them all back since about 300 million of them are privately owned in the U.S. right now. So why should I hide my gun? I mean if they give them right back again, after I don’t know a week, a month? You dreaming Howard, the government didn’t take away every Americans’ gun after Katrina. I would have heard something about this, plus they would have had to come to my house and take mine – and they didn’t. Come back to me when you have something intelligent to say, Howard, and not just spread all these unsubstantiated Chicken Little right-wing cuckoo-clock internet propaganda lies. Come back to me when you can speak some truth and not just the paranoid nightmares of bedwetting children.

      • Guest

They didn’t simply return the weapons they “stole” from those Katrina victims Mark. It took a great deal of pressure from pro-gun groups to initiate the return. The accounts of what occurred, as stated in this video, are truly sickening!

    • rendarsmith

Did the NRA commit these shootings? Did the NRA tell somebody or hire somebody to commit these shootings? Was the NRA involved in any way to these shootings?

If you sell someone a knife and they use it to kill somebody, are you responsible for the murder?

      • mark

No, the NRA did not organized these killings and to impute that is obviously ludicrous but many posters on this site including Bob Livingston have stated their belief that the Obama administration organized the killings at Aurora and Sandy Hook and that is just as patently ludicrous as suggesting that the NRA had anything to do with it. But good luck trying to convince the contributors on this website of that because they have such a virulent hatred of their own government that it unhinges their reasoning to the extent that they regard such bizarre, off-the-charts-crazy conspiracies as perfectly credible.

P.S. They also think that the George W. Bush adminstration organized the 9/11 attacks and that the main goal of every U.S. president since Wilson is to commit genocide against the American people, a goal they are only prevented from achieving by the mass gun ownership in America. Can you imagine living in a country where you really think that the poltical leadership’s true goals are to kill and imprison tens of millions of their own citizens? Well, they do believe this and state it everyday on this site. For me, if I actually believed this I would immediately leave the United States and settle in another nation just as intelligent German Jews left Germany after Hitler came to power. But of course the whole notion of an American president rounding up and killing tens of millions of his own citizens is so absurd as to defy all logic. Except for the majority logic on this site.

      • Tim L.

Yes, if you sold the knife to some deranged, whack-job. I agree that guns don’t kill people. Insane, violent people kill people. The object is to find a way to keep guns out of the hands of mental defectives, something the NRA seems to have no interest in doing.

      • Bill

Mark, We do not need any more gun laws. We need more guns and larger mags to protect ourselves from the thugs created by the lefts failed economic policies.

Our seniors need to be protected and the cops cannot

      • eddie47d

We don’t necessarily need more laws but better ones to replaced the weak older laws.

    • Steve E

Obama said that “responsible gun owners” have no reason for concern. Neither did the Jews in Germany have any reason for concern when they went to the showers.

      • deerinwater

That is simply not true and if you don’t know it not true, you need to bone up on the time period. ~ The German Jews had call for concerns of many years and many did leave the country with not only their lives but their wealth as well. Sadly not enough of them.

Stick with speaking of things that you know and you can offer a much more powerful posting.

“Restrictions imposed by the treaty of Versailles
In 1919 and 1920, to stabilize the country and in part to comply with the Treaty of Versailles, the German Weimar government passed very strict gun ownership restrictions. Article 169 of the Treaty of Versailles stated, “Within two months from the coming into force of the present Treaty, German arms, munitions, and war material, including anti-aircraft material, existing in Germany in excess of the quantities allowed, must be surrendered to the Governments of the Principal Allied and Associated Powers to be destroyed or rendered useless.”[1]
In 1919, the German government passed the Regulations on Weapons Ownership, which declared that “all firearms, as well as all kinds of firearms ammunition, are to be surrendered immediately.”[2] Under the regulations, anyone found in possession of a firearm or ammunition was subject to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 marks.
On August 7, 1920, the German government enacted a second gun-regulation law called the Law on the Disarmament of the People. It put into effect the provisions of the Versailles Treaty in regard to the limit on military-type weapons.”

At this time in history Hitler had only served as a messenger of Corporal rank in the Germany army and was recovering from a mustard gas attack at the end of the war.

It was the treaty of Versailles imposed on a defeated Germany by allied forces that disarmed the German people. ~ So you can say that it was the England, Canada, French and American people that disarmed the German people.

So how do you feel about that ?

“Indeed, there was no need for the Nazis to pass a law like that, because the earlier Weimar government had already passed gun registration laws. When I asked Cramer about his research, he said, “The laws adopted by the Weimar Republic intended to disarm Nazis and Communists were sufficiently discretionary that the Nazis managed to use them against their enemies once they were in power.” In other words, they didn’t need to pass additional laws. The Nazis did pass a weapons law in 1938, but that only added restrictions to the previous law, especially for Jews and other “non-citizens.”

“Did gun control, then, pave the way for the Nazi rise to power? If guns had been readily available, would the people have risen against their oppressors? That seems dubious. The Nazis had a great deal of popular support. Much of their campaign of intimidation involved old-fashioned strongarm tactics, not guns. Had opponents of the regime been armed, and had there been a tradition of armed resistance in Germany, the Nazis might have had a tougher time of it. But that gets us into a pretty speculative realm.

When the Nazis enacted their own law in 1938, they added restrictions aimed at Jews, such as not allowing Jews to work in any business involving guns. They also prohibited those under eighteen from buying guns, added yet another permit for handguns, and banned silencers and small hollow-point ammunition. Of course, Nazi officials were exempted from all gun permits. Later that year, after “Kristallnacht,” Hitler forbade Jews to possess pretty much any weapons.

To summarize, Hitler did “effect total gun control,” but only for the Jews, and only after his regime had been in power for several years. For the rest of the population he relied on laws already in place.

To focus exclusively on gun control is to lose sight of the larger picture. The Nazis controlled EVERYTHING. If you went through the Bill of Rights you’d find that most of them were abridged in Hitler’s Germany. Did the loss of one particular right have more impact than the others? That’s a question we here at the Mailbag can’t answer. I doubt anybody can.”

      • Gordon

DEER= Obama is running the nazi playbook step by step. 2012 was the end of life as we have known it…… impeachment…… never will be convicted.

        • Deerinwater

Gordon say “2012 was the end of life as we have known ”

I think that can be said for every year ~ but for a man you claim that can’t do anything ~ you are certainly giving him a lot of credit. ~ It’ can’t be both ways.

      • mark

A ludicrous, inane historical overreach but typical on this site. Jews were a tiny, despised, and frightened minority in 1930s Germany. Gunowners are a highly respected and feared majority in the United States. Comparing the two in anyway speaks to your almost total lack of historical knowledge.

      • Jana

        Wow Mark,
6 million people, jews or any peoples does not sound like a tiny minority, and they wouldn’t have been frightened if they weren’t being hunted down and murdered like animals.
This was low Mark, even for you.

      • Jana

You missunderstood Steve E’s post, he was being facetious. You actually both agree.

      • mark

Jana, German Jews were a frightened minority for centuries before Adolf Hitler came to power and started to enact the Holocaust, due to the long tradition of anti-Semitism in that nation. In 1933, around 300,000 Jews lived in a German nation of 70 million – a very tiny minority as I stated, and largely powerless once the Nazis came to power. To compare them to the very powerful over 80 million mostly white Americans who own guns is ludcrous. Of the 6 million Jews who Hitler murdered the vast majority came from Poland, Russia, and other parts of Eastern Europe, and considerable numbers from Western Europe as well. Only arround 5% of the 6 million came from Germany. This is the historical record that you and Steve E. should be aware of.

      • phideaux

[comment has been edited] Every reference I found said over half a million jews in Germany in 1933.

        • Deerinwater

So give or take 200,000 count of 1933 German Jews makes Mark a liar?

you are tough, ~ I don’t believe anyone can satisfy you.

      • Jana

I stand corrected. They actually were living in fear. They were pacifists and leftists, just like the leftists are today.
They sat back and let themselves be led around by their noses while all of their rights were being taken away from them and did nothing, hoping that everything would be all right. They kept blinders on so they could see nothing, just like the liberals do today.

        • Deerinwater

Hmm? ~ ignoring and living in fear at the same time?????? I wonder how that works?

      • eddie47d

Then Jana if Liberals are pacifists then Conservatives much be treacherous war mongers!

      • mark

Jana, first you had sympathy for the German Jews, now suddenly you have contempt for them. Neat switdh. German Jews were a tiny minority with little poltical power after 1933. Many of them fled, a few went underground, but most as you note were slaughtered. The blame for that slaughter lies totally with the Nazi government and the white Christian Germans who either acquiesced or did nothing to try and stop their slaughter. The blame for their murder does not lie with the German Jews themselves. They were the victims of these horrible atrocities. We should not blame the victims but rather the murderers when a murder takes place. Thus we do not blame the slaughtered children at Sandy Hook or call them weak liberals or progressive socialists who deserved to die because they weren’t packing heat. No, we blame the immoral and cowardly Adam Lanza, the murderer who slaughtered them. While many anti-Semites in this country do blame the Jews for the Holocaust any reasonable and thinking human being blames the Nazis. They were the criminals and not only did the vast majority of the German people support the Nazis but they fought down to 12 year old children and 65 year old men to preserve their horrific right-wing, racist regime in the final days of the Reich. Several extreme right-wing Christian groups in America today, the Klan, Aryan Nations, the skin heads hero worship the Nazis to this day and proudly wear their regalia along with Confederate flags at their rallies. They are the terrorists I worry about – not the U.S. government or the Obama administration.

      • Jana

You don’t read or understand english any better than deerinwater.
I never said I felt sorry for the Jews, I said 6 million Jews is a lot more than a tiny amount!

Actually I did feel sorry for them because they were pacifists and thought for sure that their plight would go away if they would just become invisible and show everyone that they were no threat. We need to learn from that mistake.

We will NOT become invisible nor allow our rights to be taken away, nor our Country to be turned into a Socialist/Communist Country without a fight. It may well happen, but not without a fight!

People like you may want it to be but there have always been the takers and gimmes in our society. you would take from someone else to give to others. It isn’t yours to give!

Actually deerinwater was confused about what Steve E was even talking about. I am talking about the same time frame Steve E was talking about. Poor deer had to go hunting and copied and pasted not comprehending what Steve E was even talking about.

I ignored your confusion regarding my posting the first time Jana. ~ seeing no one too interfere with children at play ~ thinking that experience is the best teacher. But the confusion is your and not mine my love.

You are showing sign of attempting to think things though Jana. A big improvement in just 8 months time.

          I celebrate your progress,

        Awww, Poor deer,
        So childish.

        • Deerinwater

Bad comedy does not suit you Jana ~ You are the more serious type. I’d stay clear of it and focus on your message if I were you.

    • Scott

The issue of gun control IS NOT Complex. The 2nd Amedment which provides for freedom of American people to defend themselves and their familiy against those who wish to harm them. Further, it was and is what our forefarthers put in place to prevent government from controling its citizens by dictorial force. And since you don’t know your constitution, the 2nd amedment is the ONLY one that says “shall not be infringed”.

      • Gordon

Law abiding citizens’ 2nd Amendment rights have been “enfringed” for at least 80 years. The US citizens allowed it then, and progressively worse, until now we will be faced with serious actions.

      • ranger09

Deerin water, Now both wars 1and 2 Involved germany, As you said the jews left and took their wealth with them. So i would assume that both wars were fought over the Jews and their wealth, considering they had all the wealth. And it seems like Afganistan, Iraq, Iran, Syria, lebanon seems like these wars all point to the jews again SO would you not say that the Jews might be the Problem.??

        • Deerinwater

          No I wouldn’t ~ and I said some Jews.

    • Eugene Sevene-THE PATRIOT

Rodzzz you like many others I have talked to need to get a reality check. It seems that the more the congress gives in to the Idiot in the White House the more power he feels he has and the more power he demands. It is a shame that so many are so blind to this dictators intentions. I have said before that the American people get dumber every day and every day they insist on proving me right. It is obvious that the people that base their anti gun stance on the Newtown shootings don’t have a clue what they are talking about and will follow the Muslim anywhere he leads. Understand this if you can [comment has been edited] and look at reality with an open mind. Gun control has nothing to do with gun safety and reducing crime but does have everything to do with control. I challenge everyone that wants to do away with guns to study Hitler and how he gained control of Germany. Yes I know I have heard every excuse from Obama is not like that to it can’t happen here. To the people in Greece I’m sure knew it couldn’t happen there neither. The point I’m trying to get through is before you put your foot in your mouth, know exactly what you are talking about. Review the news broad casts and pay attention to the time line and if you watch close you will find that the so called automatic assault rifle wasn’t removed from the trunk of the shooters car until after he was already down. Once you realize that fact you will also realize if you can get past you self centered attitude, that M.S.N.B.C lied to the public to further their own agenda and that of the would be dictator that you so proudly defend. It is also a sad fact that people with closed minds will defend this man right up to the day he takes all of their freedoms away and then they will blame it on everyone but themselves. Have a nice day in yourself

    • Benjamin Fox

Not complex at all, if obozo writes a EO, he is changing the Constitution and that is a impeachable offense. Needs to go back to Kenya where the gun control is against the citizens but, not the government or evil people.

Mark you are wrong on so many levels. If criminals obeyed the law utopia would be here already. The second amendment is a simple two sentence statement of our God given rights as in the government has NO right to regulate AT ALL. Truthfully ANY gun regulation is a violation of our rights.
It states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” .
Before the comma it is crystal clear A well organised militia. Witch today has been ILLEGALLY co opted as the national guard. After the comma it SPECIFICALLY states the PEOPLES RIGHT shall NOT be infringed. ALL thru the federalist papers AND in the constitution the SEPARATION of the organised militia, the un organised militia, the people and the government is present. The WHOLE concept of the constitution is to LIMIT governmental power over the people. Our government today is a CRIMINAL organisation bent on NOTHING less than complete control. I for one am sick of the incremental destruction of our country by your socialist bent way of thinking. Do you really believe they will stop with just large magazines and scary black rifles OH that’s right they are already there. Frankenstein want’s ALL weapons registered. The simple FACT is EVERY government throughout history has started with registering and went on to taking them by force and EVERY time violent crime has went UP without fail. Aside from all this Your so called representatives including oblamo took an oath the DEFEND the constitution not inch by inch destroy it.

      • shade

I have to agree that the National Guard is NOT a well established Militia! It is an extension of the Full time U.S. Army! A well established Militia is made up of the Citizens who would normally be unarmed! So it was in 1772 ( they were known as Minutemen, because they could assemble in minutes) and so it is today! The U.S. Constitution, an Artifact of TRUTH and JUSTICE, shall continue to be the envy of the World, copied by many, understood by few!

Even if this guy does file Articles of Impeachment against Obama it won’t go anywhere. The Weeper of the House won’t pursue it and even if he did, the Senate would stop it. There are too many traitors in both houses and both parties who will do nothing to stop Obama. They are giving him a free hand to do as he pleases. Even the Supreme Court has cave to Obama.

    • sonofliberty

If good men do nothing then evil will triumph……I suggest you contact your State Representatives, by telephone, and email, and contact John Boehner by telephone and email and tell them that the 2nd Amendment is not up for grabs, and that it was put in place so evil Governments could not control the Liberty of “We the People”. Government is supposed to be the tail, and we are supposed to be the dog. It is now the Tail which is wagging the dog and it needs to stop. Contact Rand Paul and Senators who give a darn about our freedoms, and then pray God have Mercy on us with this Dictator in office. I’m going to see if the Tea Party will put together a Protest against this gun grabbing of the Federal Government. 2nd Amendment March on Washington D.C.

      • Vigilant

Both impeachment attempts and protest will accomplish nothing. Harold is correct in that the Senate would never convict. As to protest, that is nothing but political theater that changes nothing.

The Supreme Court needs to get involved in this. From : “In addition to congressional recourse, Executive Orders can be challenged in court, usually on the grounds that the Order deviates from “congressional intent” or exceeds the President’s constitutional powers.”

      • rendarsmith

Vigilant, I don’t trust the Supreme Court either. They changed Obamacare into a tax to make it legal, they’ll find some excuse to further the socialists’ agenda.

Right that is how slavery existed for 250 years on American shores. And why segregation existed for another 100 years. Because good men did nothing. But the majority of Americans were just fine with that. But put a regulation on ammunition clips or insist on criminal and psychiatric background checks before gun purchases? Hey, wait a minute, that’s cause for a revolution!. But buying and selling other human beings? Or preventing citizens from voting because of their skin color? Hey, that’s no problem. After all they’re black. Hypocrisy thy name is America!

      • Vigilant

Rendar, you may not trust the SCOTUS, but it’s a step that MUST be taken prior to any calls for violence. Unless, that is, you believe violence is the first answer when you don’t get your way.

The call to violence will be “confiscation” or mandatory gun tax/ registration.

      • TML

“…you may not trust the SCOTUS, but it’s a step that MUST be taken prior to any calls for violence.”

I think that to be the wrong course of action. Executive Orders used to get around Congress are unconstitutional and not any different than dictatorial power. To then promote the idea of using another unconstitutional power such as judicial review on another is ridiculous. The power rests with the states to pass resolutions of nullification of unconstitutional laws and mandates, up to and including secession if the federal government defaults the contract by violating what it was created by the states to protect. I believe that secession would come before any armed resistance and even then, such resistance would only be defensive if the federal government acts as the preemptively aggressor.

“To then promote the idea of using another unconstitutional power such as judicial review on another is ridiculous.”

TML, you would do well to study your history. “In their comments relating to judicial review, the framers indicated that the power of judges to declare laws unconstitutional was part of the system of separation of powers. The framers stated that the courts’ power to declare laws unconstitutional would provide a check on the legislature, protecting against excessive exercise of legislative power.” (Wikipedia)

The concept and application of judicial review existed at state level even before he Constitutional convention. Moreover, “delegates made comments indicating their belief that under the Constitution, federal judges would have the power of judicial review. For example, George Mason said that federal judges “could declare an unconstitutional law void.” James Madison said: “A law violating a constitution established by the people themselves, would be considered by the Judges as null & void.” (Ibid.)

FYI, Marbury v. Madison did not establish the doctrine of judicial review, it was already accepted by the Founders.

      • Vigilant

“The power rests with the states to pass resolutions of nullification of unconstitutional laws and mandates, up to and including secession if the federal government defaults the contract by violating what it was created by the states to protect.”

Nice summation of the neoconfederate theology.

Didn’t work for SC during Jackson’s administration, and didn’t work for the confederacy either.

      • TML

I know my history; however, you should learn your Constitution. It is no question as to the fact that the Constitution does not explicitly erect a tribunal of judicial review, and because that power was not explicitly delegated to the federal government it therefore resides with the state. James Madison and Thomas Jefferson adamantly opposed such doctrine of judicial review (Kentucky and Virginia resolutions of 1798) while agreeing that the courts had the power to nullify any law that violated the constitution as it pertained to a specific, and legitimate, case within their jurisdiction. The fact that other founders argued for judicial review does not change the fact that the Constitution does not anywhere erect a tribunal specifically to review any and all acts of Congress just to give the ‘ok’ on the law without a legitimate case to rule upon.

I will say however, that I am less inclined to oppose such judicial review of executive orders by a single man, as I am legislation by the entire Congress, in contrast to a small oligarchy group of unelected officials who maintain their office for life.

Vigilant says, “Nice summation of the neoconfederate theology. Didn’t work for SC during Jackson’s administration, and didn’t work for the confederacy either.”

It worked. The federal government just overstepped its power to make war on the states who made a peaceful declaration of secession, invading their land to subjugate them under central governmental control unconstitutionally… that doesn’t change the law of the land.It only proves the federal government violated the rule of law with the barrel of a gun. Besides, this isn’t the 1860’s anymore… in case you haven’t noticed.

      • TML

Nullification is a valid option, as we see many States already preparing to pass legislation resolutions to do exactly that.

      • Vigilant

TML, if you were indeed versed on history, you would know that Madison adamantly opposed nullification.

“James Madison in his old age lived through the Nullification Crisis of 1832-1833. He was against nullification and secession, which he saw lurking clearly in the background of the Crisis. As the author of the Virginia Resolution of 1798 which contended that Congress had no power to pass the Alien and Sedition Acts, Madison had his own words thrown back at him, and he took pains in his letters to explain the differences between his Virginia Resolution and the revolution South Carolina was attempting to initiate. I find his words on secession to be of great interest in light of the battle over the right to secede fought after Madison was long in his grave. Here is a letter to Nicholas Trist on December 23, 1832 in which Madison makes his position clear.”

You may read the letter at the URL cited. He deals at length with the mistaken notion that nullification by a single state was ever a part of the Virginia Resolution. He wrote it; he certainly knew what he meant.

One excerpt of that letter is particularly revealing, and is abundantly clear with respect to Madison’s sentiments regarding secession: Said Madison, “It is high time that the claim to secede at will should be put down by the public opinion; and I shall be glad to see the task commenced by one who understands the subject.”

      • Vigilant

You may find it elucidating as well to read Jackson’s words regarding the nullification crisis, words I have posted here many times. On May 1, 1833, Jackson wrote, “the tariff was only the pretext, and disunion and southern confederacy the real object. The next pretext will be the negro, or slavery question.”

“Pretext” was the word he used, not “justification,” and the wise man can tell the difference between the two words.

      • Vigilant

TML says, “The federal government just overstepped its power to make war on the states who made a peaceful declaration of secession, invading their land to subjugate them under central governmental control unconstitutionally…”

Yes, TML, there is only one side to the question, and yours is unfailingly correct. That, notwithstanding the historically accurate information I’ve provided above. Or the opinions of many Constitutional scholars regarding the illegitimacy of secession.

Fine by me. Your neoconfederate blindness is unassailable. None so blind as those who will not see.

      • TML

Vigilant says, “TML, if you were indeed versed on history, you would know that Madison adamantly opposed nullification.”

Nay, he opposed secession which was the extreme version of nullification, but not interchangeable and have very different justifications and purposes. The Virginia resolution argued that the states “had the right and the duty to declare unconstitutional any acts of Congress that were not authorized by the Constitution.” In doing so, they argued for states’ rights and strict constructionism of the Constitution. He did oppose secession, but under the principles of contract understood that secession is justified, not at will, but only when the contract had already been defaulted and “absolved by an intolerable abuse of the power created [federal government]”. No founder, who just won their independence through secession from a tyrannical government, would have unequivocally opposed secession under the reasonable grounds of utter violation of the Constitution, and that such a state cannot withdraw without the consent of their oppressors.

As he points out, even Jefferson’s words are often used as a pretext to secession at a whim, but that’s not what’s being said (reference Jefferson’s 1st inaugural address – “if there be any among us who would wish to dissolve this Union, or to change its republican form, let them stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated, where reason is left free to combat it”).

Madison only opposed the principles of nullification he laid down in the Virginia Resolution being perverted to justify secession, not nullification itself, since nullification is a legitimate act which should keep the act of secession from having to occur. It is the means of avoiding secession, not the justification for it.

Vigilant says, “Your neoconfederate blindness is unassailable.”

Let’s refrain from trying to place me under a label and say I am blind simply because I don’t agree with you.

        • shade

I do believe the U.S. Constitution gives us a way to secede from the Union, although it would not be easy. It also gives us the right to “replace” the Government if it is out of control “which it is”.

      • Vigilant

Shade, you’re confusing the Constitution with the Declaration of Independence.

      • Vigilant

TML, kindly read an excerpt from another of Madison’s letters to Nicholas P. Trist, December, 1831. Madison made it very clear that nullification by a single state in disregard of the will of the several states would have “such a deadly poison in it, no Constn. could be sure of lasting a year.”

“Another circumstance to be noted is that the Nullifiers in stating their doctrine omit the particular form in which it is to be carried into execution; thereby confounding it with the extreme cases of oppression which justify a resort to the original right of resistance, a right belonging to every community, under every form of Government, consolidated as well as Federal. To view the doctrine in its true character, it must be recollected that it asserts, a right in a single State, to stop the execution of a Federal law, altho’ in effect stopping the law everywhere, until a Convention of the States could be brought about by a process requiring an uncertain time; and finally in the Convention when formed a vote of 7 States, if in favor of the veto, to give it a prevalence over the vast majority of 17 States. For this preposterous & anarchical pretension there is not a shadow of countenance in the Constitn. and well that there is not; for it is certain that with; there having scarcely been a year, since ours was formed, without a discontent in some one or other of the States which might have availed itself of the nullifying prerogative. Yet this has boldly sought a sanction under the name of Mr. Jefferson, because, in his letter to Majr Cartwright, he held out a Convention of the States, as, with us, a peaceable remedy in cases to be decided in Europe by intestine wars. Who can believe that Mr. J. referred to a Convention summoned at the pleasure of a single State, with an interregnum during its deliberations; and, above all with a rule of decision subjecting nearly ¾ to ¼. No man’s creed was more opposed to such an inversion of the Repubn. order of things.”

      • Vigilant

And with regard to your feelings about judicial review and the function of the judicial system, you may want to read another portion of Madison’s letter:

“With respect to the supremacy of the Judicial power on questions occurring in the course of its functions, concerning the boundary of Jurisdiction between the U. S. & individual States, my opinion in favor of it was as the 41 No. of the Federalist shews, of the earliest date; and I have never ceased to think that this supremacy was a vital principle of the Constitution as it is a prominent feature in its text. A supremacy of the Constitution & laws of the Union, without a supremacy in the exposition & execution of them, would be as much a mockery as a scabbard put into the hand of a Soldier without a sword in it. I have never been able to see, that without such a view of the subject the Constitution itself could be the supreme law of the land; or that the uniformity of the Federal Authority throughout the parties to it could be preserved; or that without this uniformity, anarchy & disunion could be prevented.”

      • Vigilant

Incidentally, TML, Madison was also in favor of protective tariffs:

“On the subject of the Tariff for the encouragemt of manufactures, my opinion in favor of its constitutionality has been invariable from the first session of Congs. under the new Constn. of the U. S. to the explicit & public maintenance of it in my letters to Mr. Cabell in 1828.” (Same letter)

In essence, Madison is saying that South Carolina’s opposition to the tariff, and its attempted nullification of it, were UNCONSTITUTIONAL in nature.

      • TML

Vigilant says “TML, kindly read an excerpt from another of Madison’s letters to Nicholas P. Trist, December, 1831. Madison made it very clear that nullification by a single state in disregard of the will of the several states would have “such a deadly poison in it, no Constn. could be sure of lasting a year.”

Indeed, he did argue for “interposition” which required states to act jointly in the effort to strike down unconstitutional laws, but this still upholds the idea that the right and the duty to declare void any acts of Congress which were not authorized by the Constitution, was indeed a power that does rests with the State. Personally I have no problem with Madison’s interposition approach to nullification until it comes to violations of the Bill of Rights, at which point, I favor nullification by a single state, even if other states do not agree… which is not such a deadly poison. Whether the nullification of drug laws, or gun restrictions, etc… these should not require the convention of the several states.

Vigilant says “And with regard to your feelings about judicial review and the function of the judicial system, you may want to read another portion of Madison’s letter:”

There were times when he favored judicial review, but in the end, the check on Congress was given to the veto power of the President, not the Judiciary outside of their jurisdiction. He too opposed the doctrine privately as he did a letter in 1788, he wrote, “In the state constitutions and indeed in the federal one also, no provision is made for the case of a disagreement in expounding them; and as the courts are generally the last in making the decision, it results to them by refusing or not refusing to execute a law, to stamp it with the final character. This makes the Judiciary Department paramount in fact to the legislature, which was never intended and can never be proper.” Id. at 294.

It is by the nature of the court, through the legitimacy of a case within their prescribed jurisdiction, that they have the power to nullify a law (by refusing or not refusing to execute a law), as I said, but not as oversight of all congressional acts without a legitimate case to rule upon.

Vigilant says “In essence, Madison is saying that South Carolina’s opposition to the tariff, and its attempted nullification of it, were UNCONSTITUTIONAL in nature.”

While as I pointed out, he did not feel that the interposition form of nullification was unconstitutional, I have no objection to the tariff being considered constitutional, albeit excessive.

Well, what’s your plan of action?

      • mark

No legislation has even been formally proposed yet, let alone argued over and voted on in the Congress, Joe, which is always a very long and dragged out process. And all government offiicals are talking about is closing loopholes on doing criminal and psychiatric background checks before gun purchases which 74% of NRA members agree with as do 82% of gunowners. They are also talking about limitng the sale of multi-round magazines above 10 or 12 bullets. Some politicians are calling for a reinstatement of the ban on semi-automatic assault rifle sales that existed between 1994 and 2004. I don’t remember any revolution against the End of America during that 10 year ban. I don’t remember any concentration camps or mass genocide of Americans during that ban that spanned the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations?

Calm down, Joe. You’re going bonkers over zero legislation and only proposals over some moderate reforms which we have experienced in the past with no infringement on American rights or the massive numbers of gunowners. This whole “gun grab” conspiratcy theory is a huge money-maker for the IRA and the Far Right who are getting their base all riled up and ready to contribute – cash, money, escarole! It a “money grab” by the right – not a “gun grab” by the left. Don’t fall for it. Keep your powder dry and your cash away from the politicians.

Time for all gun owners to draw a line in the sand and ignore any new scheme to infringe our rights. The first step to confiscation is registration. There are plenty of laws already. Our gov can’t keep track of 15 million illegals but somehow they are going to keep track of 300 million firearms?

    • chocopot

Just a few things. First, the actual number of illegals is 40-45 million – and they know it. They have been lying about that for many years. And they DO know where most of the illegals are since most of them are either receiving welfare, or food stamps, or rent assistance, or their kids are in public school, and so forth. The bottom line is that the powers that be have no desire to get rid of the illegals since the ultimate goal is the destruction of this nation by any and all means, and having all those mostly unassimilable aliens will help the cause. As for registering the guns, well, universal gun registration is, indeed, the first step on the road to confiscation. The NWO does not want anyone to be able to threaten their control. We are heading for a world of trouble. Just take a good look back at the beginning steps in every country during the 20th century that became a totalitarian dictatorship – we are well on the way.

I was Born and raised in Texas, I was always Proud to Be from Texas, Some of my folks first entered and settled around Nacogdoches and Rusk, Part of us were Choctaw Indian, And i Am still Proud of this Blood, Some of my Family explored the Northern part of texas, There even is a County named after them.A big part of my family still live in the same areas Texas was and has always been a Proud State because of its People, But today it seems like All the States are lossing there Pride and their Power over the feds.I wonder where i will shed more of my Blood, But one thing i will never shed it outside this Country again.

      • Joe

Ranger09, As I read this about your family, your heritage, I can feel your emotions of your proud patriotism. Liberty is won by the blood of tyrants and patriots. I hate to say it, but I believe our blood will be spilled here. Our generation and my children’s generation never had to fight to gain or to maintain our freedom in this Country. Our Forefather’s did, some gave the ultimate sacrifice, their blood and their lives so we could live as free men…The same sacrifice that as a Father, I am willing to give so that my children have the same freedom …. And Mark, you sir are an idiot.

  • mark

Once again Texas rises to the challenge! Who is the most idiotic state in the Union? ” It’s us!” Texans enthuiastically cheer. Let’s face the facts, they’re right.

You sir, are the idiot…Is there not one ounce of courage, one ounce of being proud that you were placed in this Country as an American…Is there no pride in you…Do you truly not understand what a priveledge it is, what an honor it is to be free??? When I read your replies and your opinion’s, I am saddened…How do you think the people in Egypt, in Gaza, in Syria feel? All they desire is to be free from their situations…And all you can do is mock free people . You either don’t understand or don’t care about freedom…Either way it is truly sad….

Where was Stockman (or ANY other Congressman) when Obama launched an offensive attack against Libya 3 years ago? How about Obamacare, or birth discrepancies, violation of Oath of Office, or other TREASON issues for which Congress has done NOTHING. Impeachment today?? It’s just more worthless rhetoric from do-nothing Congress Cretans.

This is a joke impeach Barry Soetoro over anything will be impossible because NOTHING gets him into any kind of trouble no matter what it is and sadly that is a fact.

I think Sandy Hook was his October surprise that happened in December some how he got to this boy and he did Barry Soetoro dirty work.

    • mark

Ok, Carol. October surprise in December? But the whole point of an October surprise is that it occurs right BEFORE the election in November, don’t you get that? Obama personally trained and ordered Adam Lanza to carry out this horrendous act in Sandy Hook? I mean if this isn’t a textbook example of off-the-charts, psychotic paranoia, I don’t know what is. Responding to posts on this site is like trying to converse with patients in a psychiatric ward. I mean you don’t even know where to begin. It’s….it’s….hopeless….

      • mark

Nonsensical? Ok, Paul, so you agree with Carol and with Bob Livington that Obama engineered the massacres at Sandy Hook and Aurora? And you call me nonsensical?

      • Karolyn

Seriously, mark, I now think that Sandy Hook never even existed before this event. The whole town is actors; and everything is fake! Even the kids who went on GMA this morning and sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” are actors, as is the music teacher. Then there are the parents of dead children who are starting to post remembrances online. What’s really odd is that nobody who lived in the area prior to the killings has noticed that none of those involved actually lived there! :-)

      • Gordon

The news media reported: multiple bombs found inside in Okie City…. videos of napalm tanks at Waco, specific kill orders at Ruby Ridge…… second persons at Columbine, Sandy, Aurora, etc…. grassy knoll… Jack Ruby .. It seems that many many situations are clouded by seemingly coordinated “alphabet company” organizations/ contractors.

      • deerinwater

And the kind of people that entertain this kind of thinking wants to run this country and have their guns both is a single breath while what they need to be in a rubber room and the key thrown away.

    • Joe

The only way to impeach Barry and all the other political traitors is by physically removing them. Is this not in fact why the 2nd amendment was written?

      • eddie47d

According to the right wing gods! Keep saying it long enough and it will happen!

Robb, Nick didn’t use profanity, he made a seditious statement.

The site monitor exercised his “right to remove comments at [their] discretion” by excising both Nick’s statement and my reply to it.

Instead of the usual “offensive comment removed,” they have simply dropped the postings. In doing so, they have made you look foolish by addressing someone whose comment doesn’t even appear here any longer.

  • Randy

I agree with Vickie, The 300 pluse million of us who did not violate the law by slaughtering helpless children are very tired of our rights constantly being attack because of a few druged up ,mentally ill psychopaths decide to act on their deranged ideas. The second amendment was put there to protect the citizens of the United States against Tyrants like Obama and his henchmen…who are hell bent on destroying the Constitution. Not going to happen Pres…you will never take our guns away while you are protected by 20 guys with “fully” automatic weapons. Get a clue !

    • mark

Yes, but you have the exact same attitudes toward Latin American immigrants and Muslims, Randy. When an immigrant murders or rapes an American citizen you routinely condemn all Latin American immigrants as criminals and animals. When individual Muslims commit horrific acts of terror, you condemn all Muslims as crazed, lunatic terrorists! I see this everyday on this site. Now suddenly you are calling for fairness and justice – but never for Latin Americans or Muslims! Only for American gunowners. This is just another examply on this site of the kettle calliing the pot black. It never ends. The hypocrisy is monumental.

      • Gordon

Yes it is. I agree. BUT based on the facts of the past, stereotyping and profiling are actual valid ways of pre-judging a situation to prevent further abuse… Facts people don’t want to see: Blacks move in, whites move out. Mexicans move in, blacks move out. Muslims move in everybody moves out. It’s just the way it is. Society in general has gotten to the point that NO BODY can be trusted until they prove themselves. period. We must be suspicious of everybody because the honesty, ethics, integrity, and honor have been removed from all segments of society. Face it….. almost every one will do stuff because it suits their fancy…. drive too fast?…. keep the extra nickel that the stupid cashier gave you?……parked in a handicapped?…… integrity is integrity…… very few people actually have it. period.

      • mark

So, Gordon according to your own logic, you are saying that no American gunowner should be trusted. Every one of them should be considered a absolute killer like Adam Lanza, like the loon at Aurora – until they prove otherwise. Since lots of gunowners have murdered innocents in the past, all gunowners should be suspect. I totally disagree with this philosophy. I hold like our Constitution and our American legal system does that every individual regardless of race, religion, income level, or gun ownership is innocent until proven guilty. You hold that people are guilty until they can prove themselves othewise. You realize that this, of course, is the legal system and social attitude that exists in totalitarian societies – within them all people are guilty until they can prove themselves (and good luck with this!) innocent. This is telling and reveals a lot about your poltical philosophy and view on life.

    • ranger09

Randy, I think its more like a hundred ea shift. This president is the Most protected Pres. In history. I wonder why.

      • mark

ranger09, because Barak Obama is black he has received more death threats than the last twenty presidents combined. And the vast majority of these death threats have come from white males from the South, Plain States, and Mountain West. Gee, I wonder why? The very places that have the highest membership rates in the Ku Klux Klan, the Aryan Nations, the Skinheads, the survivalist and militia movements. Starting to detect a pattern here, ranger09? President Clinton’s adminstration perpetrated Ruby Ridge and Waco. President George W. Bush enacted 2 unConstitutional wars and the unConstitutional Patriot Act, established Homeland Security, FEMA camps, extraordinary renditions and unConstitutional torture. And Bush doubled the national debt from $5.5 trillioin to $10 trillion. But neither of these 2 guys got anywhere near the number of threats President Obama received. Could it be because they were both white while President Obama is black, the first black president in U.S. history? Gee, I wonder if that could be it?

        • BR549

Mark wrote: “… because Barak Obama is black he has received more death threats than the last twenty presidents combined.”

Granted, there are probably some who would even threaten him because he is black, but I think Obama, himself, has earned all of the threats made against him, regardless of his race. Who would really give a crap if he was black or some stowaway from Mecca, or Beijing, …… so long as he grew a set of gonads and fully supported the Constitution and stuck to his campaign promises. This guy is just another charismatic globalist stooge whose only assignment was to mesmerize the weak-minded masses.

          I confess, I fell for it in 2008. I wasn’t that stupid in 2012.

Regarding one respondent’s comment about 80% of the population turning in their guns; I don’t think that will happen. I’ll even go so far as to say that liberals may be desiring a world without guns (a noble gesture), but I’ll bet there are a whole slew of them out there right now secretly buying guns ……. just in case. Who can blame them? Nothing would be better than to live without the need for weapons, but as long as the rich cats want all the rubber duckies in their tub, the rest of us will have to continue to pay the price for their insecurity and lack of integrity.

A totally ludicrous analogy. Syria and the United States? Syria has been a total mililtary dictatorship since the 1950s with zero free elections, zero free speech, zero right to assembly, zero free press or internet, zero right to bear armsopenly, zero fair trials by jury, zero religious freedom. That is why the Syrian people have finally risen up. To compare a goon state, bloodthirsty dictatorship like Syria whose armed forces shoot down hundreds of their own citizens and carpet bomb their own cities routinely everyday with life in the United States today is like comparing Kabul with Beverly Hills. The Syrian leaders are dictators for life, it is a long tradition there that has existed for centuries if you include their Ottoman rulers. We have presidential elections every 4 years and a 2 term limit on the White House. 224 years of unbroken, never cancelled elections, 224 years of unbroken evacuation of office by the politicians who lose, 224 unbroken years of free speech, free press, freedom of religion, etc. They have a zero tradition of individual rights. You’re comparing apples with handgrenades. And neither one of them can ever miraculously turn into the other.

      • Joe

And no nation since the beginning of humanity, has ever been in this much debt. And that is absolutely the fault of our supposed representatives for the last 100 years. You can only go so far and then comes judgement day…And we as a nation are approaching that day quickly…

  • jdn

We can change this , first we can write letters and make phone calls. Then we can organize a rally , make signs and come up with catchy slogans . AARON, The NRA has become a Compromising Group, When the Day comes when they no longer compromise on our rights I will become a member again. There is NO compromise when it comes to the Constitution and our Rights They have become more like Politicians than People looking after our rights. Maybe its the Money and the group they run with.

Obama is confident of solving the problem but in reality he does not even know what the problem is. He did say that responsible owners need not worry, but he has been known to waiver on the wrong side of honesty before. Let’s see what he decides. Another crisis awaits but as his focus is now to grant cittizenship to illegal aliens the gun issue will may have to wait

    • Gordon

98% of the stuff coming out of DC and the White House is just smoke and mirrors designed to keep the citizens’ attention off the issues being sneaked under the table. amen it about time a good senater stood up i say impeach him america is well on way to dictatership

  • Dr Sir Richard Wright-Hogeland

Just to clarify – the 2nd amendment -the right to keep and bear arms not to be infringed
The 2nd amendment does not create the right to keep and bear arms – it is a natural law right – the 2nd amendment says that natural law right will not be infringed – so the right under the constitution can not be amended
Like so many rights in the Constition they are natural law rights that can not be taken away – that definitely includes the taking away the right through the back door – indirectly or especially through executive decree -
That right is given for the self defense of the individual – for his community- extended – to his state – his nation – under the Declaration of Indepedence and English Law and Natural Rights – to remove any government that violates the law and the individual rights outlined in the Declaration – the Declaration of Indepedence sets the principle and the Constitution is the enabling document – last but not least the right for entertainment – i.e., hunt – to become an expert with the weapon – their is no real limit to the type of guns the individual may keep and bear – with possibly the limitation – being like or similar to the arms the military uses! Ergo legally the government can not limit the individual’s right to keep and bear automatic weapons
I have an important legal question – “How can Obama be eligible become President of the USA for a 2nd term – when he can not support the Constitution of the USA – especially one of rights under the Bill of Rights – i.e. what part of the Constitution is swearing to up hold?”

    Dr Richard Wright-Hogeland

    • Aaron

Because he’s a lier in front of all the american Nation.

Only among an extemist “birther” minority. Everyone else accepts that he was born on U.S. soil in the state of Hawaii in 1961 (it became a state in 1959) to an American mother and an African father. That makes him a U.S. citizen. Case closed. Except for a small minority who will never accept him as an American because his father was black and they diagree with his policies.

  • Bill

Exactly what we need, some offense instead of always running defense.

  • Motov

We should seek to prevent a second swearing in on January 20th or are they going to do it on Monday the 21?

  • FatherTom

If the federal government wants to reduce violence against children, perhaps it should take a closer look at restricting and regulating curettes and vacuum machines–these two surgical instruments kill 3,000 children every month in the USA–they are the primary tools of abortion. Over 6 million children have been killed since abortion was legitimized in 1973–where’s the anger over this? This is our generation’s holocaust, yet our federal government supports it. Gun control isn’t about guns–it’s about power. Take away the guns and you take away the public’s ability to defend itself against aggressors and tyranny, including our own government. Make no mistake–this is their agenda.

    • Robert Smith

FatherTom bleats: “Over 6 million children have been killed since abortion was legitimized in 1973–where’s the anger over this?”

The “anger” is with religious zealots who are using abortion go get money from the flock. The “anger” is generated by those who are following the right wing “Southern Strategy.” Those of us who possess a modicum of common sense and respect for the beliefs of others have no reason to get angry.

Not everyone believes it is a “child” that is gestating, anymore than an acorn is a tree. Gestation is a PROCESS, at the end of which a child can be born. “Biblical writers don’t talk about sperm fertilizing eggs. They talk about male “seed” planted in fertile female ground. Just as a seed becomes a plant when it emerges from the ground, so too a man’s planted seed becomes another human being when it emerges from the womb.” (from:

Please keep your religion to yourself and your followers.

      • Frank Kahn

With all due respect to you, Robert, the article you linked has some flaws.

It claims to change the word Spirit into breath or wind, be he a Hebrew scholar?

He also fails to include the relevant portion of the scripture he pretends to analyze. It does say that killing the pregnant woman is punished with life for life. However, it says that if she is INJURED there will be monetary compensation if there is no further damage, in which case it shall again be life for life. In the interpretation of further damage, it can be posited that injury (as in death) of the unborn child is what is meant. Since we are talking about life for life, and the mothers life is NOT the reason, then who’s LIFE is it talking about?

Also, the word play on NATION and ISRAEL is pure nonsense. God referred to Jacob as Israel, which is later shown to be a NAME change for the man. Since the family of someone is called a NATION, it is not saying that there was an entire geographic nation in the womb, just the FATHER of the NATION. With these facts in play, it is easy to say that God Spoke to the PERSON Jacob / Israel in the womb, thus giving him status as a Human Being before birth. I am not sure of the exact timing in the gestation, but I doubt that it occurred in the 3rd trimester of the pregnancy.

Since the article was aimed at discrediting Romney’s stance on abortion, I dont see the overall relevance in a purely “lets define when life starts” kind of factual discussion. And lets get real, “when it can survive on its own, outside the womb?”, a baby cannot survive on its own outside the womb even at full term. It is still dependent on either its mother or some other person for survival for several years. Do you consider a 1 year old child to be a human? A 24 week (6 month) premature baby can take its first breath. By that you give it human being status? Most 6 month preemies cant survive even 48 hours without extreme intervention by medical personnel. The idea of breath being the determining factor of when life starts is extremely flawed.

      • Frank Kahn

PS. the controversy over when life begins and whether it is murder to abort a child does not have to be based on religious beliefs. I only used the Bible here because you did so in your link.

      • Gordon

By the way ROB—— the Bible says….. “I knew you when you were conceived in the womb”.

      • Jana

If the “anger is with religious zealots,” then why are you always so angry when someone voices their opinion? Do you think you are the only one who has the freedom of speech?

      • Robert Smith

From Frank: “The idea of breath being the determining factor of when life starts is extremely flawed.”

“life” or “person”? What are you talking about?

Like I said, at conception particularly when there aren’t even two brain cells to rub together… oooooy gooooy…

That conception thing is extremely flawed.

But in fact I’m not here to argue YOUR religion, only to point out that it is contradictory onto itself leaving it open for “interpretation.” There are some religious folks who live in our society here in America who understand that. For an example you can go to:

      • Joe

By the way Bob, if you are going to insult Christians with scripture at least quote it correctly. Jeremiah 1:5 God speaking to Jeremiah said, “Before I formed you in the belly I knew you “……. By the way, what part of before do you not understand…? Oh, by the way, it’s really not religion, it’s REALITY

        • Deerinwater

I’m not exactly sure where you are attempting to “place yourself” Joe. But if you are wanting to look at “life” from that perspective .~ the spirit never dies. ~ so you are not really making a very good argument. ~ How can you suffer internal hells fire and damnation if you can die? ~ ~ You have been told of everlasting life with differing locations, one with penalties and warm climate and one with rewards and frequent flier miles.

If that is what you wish to believe, you with experience issues with your other argument.

      • Jana

God made our spirits, He can destroy our spirits.

        Heb 12:29

        2 Peter 3:3-10

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Those who know the Lord and are His have no reason to be afraid, He is not mad at us.

        God’s Word

      • Jana

Yes, it does say that. The Bible is a book of letters from God telling us how to live and how not to live. We have to make judgments every single day as to what is right and what is wrong. You make judgements every day without the benefit of knowing what is God’s truth. This is why you are confused when you think that Shade and I made conflicting statements. We did not.
God is not a respecter of persons, meaning he accepts all and everyone. But His word also says He is a JEALOUS God and He will not tolerate forever someone who worships a false god.
Deerinwater, you can use the excuse of not understanding to disgregard God’s Word, but god knows your heart. He knows if you want to know the truth or not.

        • Deerinwater

Where does it say “people like Obama” in the Bible Jana.

You find it and I’ll eat it.

Such a statement is only introducing a personal judgement Jana ~ and it’s not a statement from the scriptures but attempting to apply one with some self absorbed whimsical discretion whenever it seems to please you or the person that said it the most.

and while you are chewing on that ~ please discontinue assuming what I or anyone else might or might not know. ~ Unless you have a crystal ball or extremely gifted ( which you fail to show over and over again and again.) you will be incorrect a minimum of 50% of the time ~ and for you, ~ more than that.

You are little more then a bible thumping fruitcake with a pc and access service that we are left to muse over and endure. ~ If you continue down this road ~ I’m going to discontinue reading your postings or responding to you. It;s all up to you and how you wish to be viewed by the rest of the posters here Jana. ~ While it’s clear you are not growing very fast ~ and will take years to craft a meaningful posting ~ You have a few sand box friends here ~ Jana , ~ direct your posting to them.

You have yet to control you own thoughts yet Jana, ~ what makes you believe that you are in some position to past judgement or rule over others?

You are all over the road with your ideas, kicking sand in everyone’s face like a 3 year old ~ and your cuteness is beginning to grow somewhat thin.

You also show your ingnorance of the English language as you cannot comprehend what you have read.

5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God.
        Another point:
        Matt 7:6

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

When you grow up and decide to become a true man then I will talk to you. Otherwise you do not deserve respect.

However, I will make one more comment. He is not going to bully me from making any more comments about his or anyone elses posts. No matter what this child thinks, he doesn’t control me or this site.

    • manuel rosa

Father Tom, you guys better listen to him.
lets say there was a fire in a building and the fireman went and fought the raging flames and saved a 3 day old baby. well, it will be on the news countrywide maybe even worldwide. you know as said as it is everyday there are babies being aborted just days before their birthday and the government provides the authority and sometimes even the finances. Is not this murder? what contitutes murder? is it not the killing of the innocent? can you think of someone more innocent than one who is about to be born?
I tell you its not murder in the first degree. Rather, its murder in the highest degree and you can be a certain God is angry with the USA about it and I would not be at all surprized if all of our troubles are established by God. If so, there is just nothing anyone can do about it!
Now, if abortion is not murder, where is the glory for the fireman that risked his life to save the 3 day old baby? In that case, it was a stupid thing!

      • Jana

        manuel rosa,
You are so right. That was a great reply. We need to keep saying it because it is true, and we know the truth.
We have too many who laugh at the truth or mock us because of our beliefs, but all they are doing is showing their own ignorance.

Thank You Rep. Stockman !! It’s about time our elected officials see this man for what he is. A man set on destroying this country, excessive executive orders that are ment to GUT our constitution, destroy our economy with unneeded regulations & our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness !!! Again Thank You .

    • James A. Deer

We in the southwest are in especial danger. Government criminals encouraged, conspired with and aided and abetted in large scale gun smuggling or high powered weapons to the armed criminal drug gangs in Mexico. As a direct result of this the deserts of the southwest are filled with drug convoys guarded by fully automatic weapons. Places where my scouts used to camp are signed by Homeland Security that they are unsafe. Organ Pipe National Monument is so dangerous you can’t go there without being armed. And everywhere our ranchers are faced with armed robberies, threats and intimidation as the uncontrolled borders remain an open highway. If we are concerned with the children of Sandy Hook, we, meaning the government should pay reparations to the thousands of Mexican citizens murdered by the guns our government smuggled there. Lets extradite the whole mess from Holder on down, or at least give the Mexican government a list so they can be indicted for gun smuggling under Mexican law and Interpol alerted to pick them up whenever they step outside the country.

We should also consider redirecting our shopping from the Walmarts and Dicks sporting goods to companies which support our Constitutional and God given rights of self defense.

      • Steve E

I will never go into a Walmart or Dick’s again. We all should do the same. Hit them in the pocket book. That is their only vulnerability.

as citizens, we should be able to have a right to personal safety. If barry wants my guns, he first has to abolish the secret service and drive and fly himself everywhere with Avis and Delta… Let’s see how secure he feels without his men in black… and maybe he can then see how we feel.
Even rappers have their gangsta bodyguards… and a lot of them carry… so… I should have to give up my protection just because barry says so?? I don’t thinks so….

    • mark

Barry doesn’t want your guns. He does want background checks and a limt on multi-round magazines.

      • Bill

That is such BS. Obama will not be happy until he has disarmed the public.

I’m moving to Texas, Cowboys, Beautiful Cheerleaders, fast cars, jobs, much more but above Protection of guns and those who LEGALLY own them, plus open season on drug traffic Felons. Bounty paid immediately. You are ALLOWED to have one head mounted per year not to exceed 53 mountings in a lifetime!

    • mark

Great cultural life down there in Texas, too. If you can put six properly spelled words together, they make you a high school principal – but not the football coach, they get paid a lot more than principals or teachers. What the hell good are teachers anyway. Gun instructors, now that’s different. Those guys are patriots. Real Americans! How’bout them Cowboys?! Actually they got their butts whipped by RG3.

  • Joe

To all of those who think this can be reversed(if and when Mr. Soetoro implements gun control by executive order) to think that we can simply write our congress men and women, organize rally’s, protest and this actually accomplishes something, let me remind you of why this Country is in the shape it is in….”POLITICIANS”….Do you really believe that these people honestly give a flip about doing what is truly right for this Country ??? If they did, would this Country really be in the shape it is in??? Politicians have driven this Country to bankruptcy… and on the verge of civil war…

“There is none so blind as “Those” who “Will Not” see.” Will we continue to turn our heads and allow this Great Country to disintegrate right before our eyes and pretend that everything is great…until it is too late….At least be honest with yourselves, if not with me…

While I agree with the Honorable Representative’s sentiments, his idea is worthless. While the House may well Impeach, the Senate will never, ever convict. Just look back at Comrade Bubba Clinton. He was guilty as **ll of perjury, suborning perjury, and two other Articles of Impeachment, but the Senate refused to convict … they actually refused to listen to the evidence stated by the House … and that was with a Republcian majority Senate, if I recall correctly. Just how far do you think they would get with Articles of Impeachment with this Senate, and this President. Obama has abused power many times over, has violated his oath of office and has violated the Constitution over and over.
This pResident could rape and murder little kids on national television, and Harry Reid and the Democrats would maintain that the acts would not rise to the level of impeachment.

The problem with the majority of politicians they have the same sins of affliction and know that theym too, are potential subjects of censure and therefore more likely to keep thier mouths shut. They want the money and power commensurate with the office, never mind the honor of service. Take those perks away and see how many would remain, even those multimillionairs, billioniars. It is the power and glory. Think of obama coming from obscurity of Kenya to the present position. He has no idea how to use the power to a good end…just use and abuse it and to hell with the consequenses. He is so self glorified he feels he shall never die and he cares less who and how much he destroys in the process. And those who support him feel as though he will hold lhem safly in his bosem as he gleefluly defecates continually in thier facesl That even applies to the stupid political supporters as well. Stupit jay carney…poor fool.. Any thing for a moment in the shining light.

  • David169

Obama is dlusional! He can no more use executive orders to nullify the 2nd Amendment than he can use executive orders to re-instate slavery. Any police , military or HLS personnel who attempted to follow this unlawful order would spend the rest of their lives in prison if they lived.

    • Gordon

Wouldn’t bet on it, would ya?

    • Wellarmed

The Acts that this president is about to engage in should be viewed no less than the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The Bill of Rights is NOT and amendable document. I agree with one of the previous posters that all the Bill of Rights does is codify the basic human laws of nature and society. These laws apply to all men, including those in our country illegally. I personally view it as a duty to carry a firearm on my person, and I abhor those who chose not to exercise that right, as well as those who continue to elect representative that do everything in their power to obfuscate that right.

The fact that a treaty or the German Government disarmed the citizenry is for all intensive purposes a moot point. The result was that no individual had the ability to defend against tyranny which ultimately led to the Holocaust. The conditions that allowed for the Holocaust to happen exist in all societies and cultures, and America has no special immunities to prevent it from happening on our soil. Those that feel that our government itself provides sufficient checks and balance to prevent that form of genocide are poor studies of history. Time is a much like a pendulum, as it will always repeat itself.

As far as Texans viewing themselves as a freedom loving people that desire independence, well I take exception to that view. The last time I checked the great state of Texas requires that a person have a permit to exercise a basic fundamental right. That mere act in and of itself is a violation of individual liberty, and it seems to be the common theme throughout the country with the exception to a limited number of states that have true constitutional carry. I do not mean to put down the people of Texas, as I do admire their take no Bull Sh#t attitude, but when their governor forces young girls in his state to take vaccines against their will and kills people through the state force who are wrongfully convicted, I tend to not give their feelings of freedom the same weight as others.

With all this being said I would support Texas secession from the union if it would limit or eliminate bloodshed in the event that our Federal Government can no longer be held accountable. The issues that are before our nation have nothing to do with gun control, and everything to do with power and corruption. This administration is as corrupt as the last, and the one before it. Anyone who thinks that operation fast and furious was not a pretext to enact draconian gun laws is not paying attention, but please lets not have selective memory as what occurred under the Bush Administration ( Katrina ) and the Clinton Administration ( Waco ) make it crystal clear to me that the American people are more than willing to march head long into the police state so long as their check is still in the mail.

We as a people of a formerly free nation will ultimately pay hell for trading our freedoms for security. I wish you all well.

      • eddie47d

Well Wellarmed the NRA has mangled the interpretation of the Second Amendment to the point of no return. The 2nd is a convienient business deal to them and has little to do with the Constitution.

  • AmericansRon2U

First of all, impeachment will never fly, folks. It would have to pass the House and Senate and it sure isn’t going to pass the commie-controlled Senate. Secondly, you cannot impeach an illegitimate POTUS. Thirdly, for those who are uninformed enough to believe that the 2nd amendment is a “complex” issue, I ask you THIS…when a criminal shoots someone with a firearm, WHO goes to jail…the gunman or the GUN??? Case closed. Guns don’t commit crimes…PEOPLE DO! For those uninformed Americans who think Obama and his minions just have a problem with assault weapons, think again! Our Founding Fathers may have only possessed muskets but that’s because the federal govt. only possessed muskets! “We The People” have the right to possess whatever the govt. possesses! That’s the actual meaning of the 2nd amendment. And furthermore, the 2nd amendment DOES NOT state that “we have the right to own and bear arms” on the condition we register our guns, obtain a permit and pass a background check! The 2nd Amendment has already been incrementally diluted from its original intent. The govt. will not stop at assault weapons…they will press on until ALL guns are banned. Every despot throughout history has disarmed its citizens before taking over a nation.

  • Phil

Articles like this and Rhetoric from another source which is Questionable intelligence prompted the following: Since everybody want to join this band wagon, why the hell did Bush not get impeached: read this: President Bush has admitted that he has authorized the use of surveillance upon American citizens and residents. He has argued that he has the authority to do so, that he has balanced the need to spy on us and our civil liberties. Unfortunately, his claims do not withstand scrutiny. Firstly, the spying upon Americans without probable cause, due process and a warrant supported by evidence and sworn before a competent magistrate violates the 1st, 4th, 5th, 9th and 14th Amendments of the US Constitution.

So, not only has Mr. Bush violated the Constitution, his oath or office, but also (at a minimum) six federal laws. In so doing, he has violated his duties and obligations as the chief executive officer of this great nation and should be impeached. However, like his father before him, George W. Bush has wrapped himself in a cloak of patriotism, protectionism and fascism in the name of national interests and security.

He has lied, misled and/or relied upon inappropriate intelligence DATA to engage in an improper invasion of a sovereign nation, violated the UN Charter (which is part and parcel of our Constitution by law), has circumvented our fundamental rights, and portrays himself as our great protector. Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Franco, Khomeini, the Saudi Royal Family and the Taliban all made the same claims of protection, but even Mr. Bush has recognized their actions as contrary to fundamental liberties, democracy and basic human rights.

    • eddie47d

What! Steve Stockman impeach one of their own!

I have read most all the responces on this and to be quite honest with some of you GUNS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM…… Look at the people around you every day….. No respect for a human life, no respect for their selves and until we start to see changes in people in total the world is going to get worse than it is now…… I dont care to debate with most of you on your views you have yours and I have mine….. Thats what this country is built on (or was)… Magazine bans, assault rifles (BIG MISCONCEPTION) and whatever else they can take now they will just to get us to go along with it to desenatize us until the next thing comes and then another until we are another country of citizens that do not have gun rights or any rights….. The second amendment stands for the people to defend them selves from a goverment that wants to controll its people instead of the way is was meant….. FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE…. We have a congress that we elect and we vote for the people for the job by what they say they stand for……. Has this always played out to be true….. Just food for thought……………………..

Manny, quit using the Bible to spread your BS. Remember Jesus threw out the tax collectors and scam offering dealers, he used his anger and disgust, and force to fight back against these criminals. In the 40 years the socialist/communist democrats had total power in all 3 branches of government, they removed the pledge of Allagence by taking it out of schools, approved federal sactioned murder of infants, opened up all nut huts, to let inmates terrorized citizens, created laws to make it harder to put nut jobs in a secure enviorment, as well as keep taking our rights to protect ourselves, and keep our freedom to worship any where at our conveince. That is unless you are any abhorant dreamed up {religion} crap, wheather a perverted muslim, witch doctor perverted sacrifices crap, and any other off the wall mumbo jumbo BS. God Bless the teachers who tried to do something in Newtown. Perhaps if one of them had the means to actually ‘protect’ the kids, not so many would have died that day. I’d stand in the line of fire any day to protect my kids, but I’d much rather attempt to take out the threat while doing so. Their sacrifice was noble and truly heroic. They helped buy time until help could arrive. They should have been able to help themselves as well. The coward shot himself when he heard the sirens. Delusional paranoia rears its ugly head, once again…(or is it “still”???)…

  • WTS/Jay

The warning signs of a tyrannical takeover of our Constitutional Republic have been flashing red for some time now and are now reaching a fever pitch. Despite the flashing signs, the clamor of the alarms and the cries of the watchmen, most Americans of this era remain in denial or have been rendered intellectually catatonic by busily chasing immediate gratification in the form of the newest version of the iPhone, iPad, or whatever “i” device will satisfy their ADHD addled intellect.

Others have simply chosen to adhere to a normalcy bias that is continuously fed by the familiar faces and voices of political pundits who remain dedicated to the lie of the right-left, Republican-Democrat paradigm of American politics, unwilling or unable to look at the larger picture for fear of being shamed by accusations of being part of a conspiracy fringe. Instead, these pundits would rather ignore the lie and squander their ability to make a difference, to educate and inform others of the dangers of the lie they know exists.

We must realize that we are not witnessing the fundamental change of America as represented by the mindless mantra of the Obama campaign, but something much deeper, much more nefarious, and something that will not be rectified through the ballot box. As uncomfortable as it is, what we face cannot and will not wait for the next general election. Actions have consequences, but so does inaction.

We are living in a time in history where some will rise to be held in high esteem as heroes in history books that have yet to be written, and victims who never saw their unfortunate status coming or were fooled into believing that things are not as bad as some make them out to be. The former will suffer greatly by selfless acts performed to save what previous generations have fought to preserve, while the latter will remain complicit by their cluelessness and catatonic in ignorance that will be anything but blissful.

The fuse that will ignite one of the most turbulent times in American and global history has been lit and now burns with incredible speed. It’s ignition is neither an accident nor does it originate from good intent, but a deliberate act by a “deluded elite” advancing an agenda that is so breathtakingly evil that it defies all rationality.

    Hanlon’s Razor does not apply

There is a familiar adage known as Hanlon’s Razor that states “[N]ever attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.” Unfortunately, too many people have chosen to believe that the events we are seeing, including all of the related consequences, are due to the incompetence of those who have been elected and appointed to lead our nation. This is particularly evident by those who continue to purvey the defunct notion of the right-left, Republican-Democrat paradigm of American politics, and the people who follow them.

    The Agenda

We are not witnessing incompetence, but the fulfillment of an agenda generations in the making. A century ago our Republic experienced a coup in the form of a monetary takeover through the creation of the Federal Reserve, followed by a consolidation of power through the IRS. We were slowly being led into a system of global governance by the same international banking cabal that exists today. Yet, too few understand the larger picture.

Over a half-century ago, Senator Joe McCarthy was vilified by trying to warn Americans that our government was being infiltrated by Communists. Much like today, his warnings went unheeded, and the infiltration of the Communist element into America thrived. History books have been not only been unkind, but incorrect, as we are bearing witness today to the very threat of which he warned. In fact, documents and testimony related to his findings were found to have been inexplicably removed from the national archives. Not in the 1950′s, but as late as the 1990′s. The timing of such removal is no accident.
The Communist infiltration combined with the Islamic infiltration, the Balkanization of America through our open borders and lax immigration enforcement, and numerous other policies and practices antithetical to the survival of our Republic have been embraced and advanced by both political parties to bring us to the point we find ourselves today. We are on the verge of a civil war, exactly as warned by my source inside the DHS last spring.

This civil war is designed to divide America, to soften us and ultimately destroy us from within. United, our Republic poses an insurmountable impediment of the implementation of a global society rooted in Communism and disguised as social progressivism. The methods of implementation are not secret. They are outlined in part by the Cloward-Piven strategy, and well documented by Carroll Quigley, a god of the Clinton power structure. At the base of the agenda exist the Fabian Socialists, Karl Marx. Antonio Gramsci, and the Frankfort School of neo-Marxist interdisciplinary social theory.

    Bitter clingers in the cross-hairs

Today, we find ourselves at the precipice of a tyrannical takeover and the complete destruction of our Republic, best illustrated by the talk of disarming the American populace.

The assertion is that the it’s for the children when, in fact, the children are being used as political capital to advance the political agenda of American disarmament, loss of liberty, sovereignty, and the rights bestowed on our Republic by God as enumerated by our Constitution. Notice how there is a war not only against gun owners, but a parallel war against the very Judeo-Christian principles on which this country was founded.

Today, we are facing a crisis of epic proportions where you will have to choose a side. Will you be the one who stands bravely and alone before a column of tanks, or will continue on your quest for instant gratification?

The war we face is not just about guns. It’s about our survival as a nation and the fate of our children, grandchildren and future generations. Which side of history will you be on?

Down to wanting other seize private property and nationalize businesses, something the jug eared one stated when him and other black socialist/democrats have said more than once, but media still hansg on the socialist government control beleifs.

I have a few comments: Self defense is an absolutely basic right of people–any other notion is very scary. That there are places where it is limited or absent makes it even more vital.
I’ve been an NRA member ever since the Army tanks attacked the women and children at Waco, first became interested after the FBI atrocities at Ruby Ridge in 1993.
Get an issue of the the “American Rifleman” and read the “Armed Citizen” page; innocent people using a gun to fight off usually armed thugs in their homes.
Look at the Constitution. The Second Amendment comes right after the indispensable First–not by chance.
George III wanted to disarm the Colonists (for obvious reasons) and almost did it to the people of Boston, until they caught on.
Look up how the Bolsheviks and Nazis disarmed citizens. They didn’t want any armed citizens to oppose their collectivist or Anti-Jew policies. Any citizen who was detected with a gun after the gun-surrender date could be, and often, was shot on sight.
If the British had had their way, there would never have been any “Minutemen” leaving their tasks to get their musket or rifle to fight the Redcoats.

Those who live in artificial cities, plugged into the fabricated media and hypnotized by television are unable to see it, but America stands today on the verge of war. Not war for an enemy in some far-off land, but war with an enemy that has cleverly occupied our soil, our structures of power and our information infrastructure. This enemy is the enemy within, and it is insidious, dangerous and voracious in its appetite for power.

This enemy devours liberty without thought. It usurps power without conscience. It manipulates minds as quietly as a python enveloping its sleeping prey. It is a sinister serpent that strangles freedom, and it is this serpent that the masses have placed into power and begged to abandon the separation of powers that have kept our Republic relatively free for over two hundred years.

Today, America stands on the verge of domestic war precisely because America stands on the verge of dictatorship. A corporate-flavored variety of fascism has reared its ugly soul, where corporations and government conspire in dark rooms to rob from the American people their health, their paychecks, their voices and their rifles. The face of that fascism is unimportant because it is the same face that fascists have presented throughout history: the face of a talented orator, a handsome, even noble-looking gentleman, a man of the people who explains that his acts of power usurpation are only pursued with great reluctance and at the desperate demand of his constituents. This is the well-worn justification of Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse Teng, and now Barack Obama.

Such stories almost always end in blood. Those who do not respect the boundaries of power inevitably overstep them with a sense of delusional arrogance. They misconstrue, they miscalculate and they misunderstand their true place on the pages of history-to-be. Hitler believed he was creating a thousand-year era of peace and order, but instead he was remembered as a genocidal maniac. Stalin believed he, too, would build a “great empire” of innovation, production and expansion, but he went down in history as murderous tyrant.

Barack Obama is not nearly as popular among the U.S. masses today as Adolf Hitler was to the German population in the 1930′s, and history has yet to reveal the final role Obama will deserve. But it increasingly seems to be one that thrusts tens of millions of innocent people into a bloody conflict, drenched in mass murder carried out under a campaign of “political cleansing.”

Obama’s political doublespeak and veiled hatred for any who oppose his personal views are near-perfect echoes of the mannerisms of history’s murderous tyrants. Obama is not yet a mass murderer — not unless you count unmanned drone bombings of children in other nations — but he has set the stage for it, and America today stands as a tinderbox of potential revolt, ready to be ignited with even the slightest hint of further oppression.

True leadership is found in those who see the peace and prosperity of the nation as more important than their personal policy desires. To be a true leader is to put the future of the nation ahead of one’s self; to steer America away from a dangerous rise in hate-filled rhetoric and the endless antagonizing of patriots and constitutionalists by the media, Hollywood and politicians.

Beware, radicals on the left. Beware what you wish for… and what you unleash. Your continued insulting and “terrorist” labeling of legal firearms owners across America is only strengthening the resolve of those you would be unwise to provoke. Do not make the mistake of thinking that the military and law enforcement are on your side; they are not. The most capable defenders of American society today are also the most dedicated, sworn defenders of the American constitution and its Bill of Rights. If you press your fascist agenda too far, you will trigger an almost automatic response from every sector of society, law enforcement and the military.

It will keepetting more dire untill the morons that claim it doesn’t do any good to vote, both parties are the same, politics are boring, are going have the real hurts put to them by actions of the socialist democrats and their beleif that government controls over everyone and every thing you ever do, down to eating. I heard the fawning of the media for any socialist/democrat once I started school, when the slobbering liberials idoits in the media, were having a love in with the registered communist, George McGovern, another idoit professor. At least he didn’t support any muslim crap as jug ears does.

How does passing another law that infrinzes on our constitutional rights keep anyone safer when evil criminals don’t obey laws anyway?

    • shade

We have over 20,000 laws on the books now, all we really need to do is start using them with vigor! Then see what happens!

  • Charles

We should DEMAND the impeachment of BO.

In 1969, William Kunstler, the famous radical-left lawyer, gave a speech in Oakland, California, to the black community. In his concluding remarks, he reminded the audience that the Black Panther Party for Self Defense was the full name of the Panthers.

Kunstler, speaking “both as a lawyer and a human being,” affirmed the legality of armed self-defense against brutal actions by the white police.

“It is most important to secure your community…If you have the power to defend yourself by weapons that are legal…what I’m advising here is perfectly legal…you must stand ready…to protect yourself…your lives…your property…”

Why is that need for self-defense any different from, say, white ranchers living in border states where Mexican drug gangs are setting up powerful outposts on American soil?

The government wants no one to make the connection, to see the common cause.

No one must believe that, when citizens, black or white or Latino or Asian, are under threat from criminals of ANY skin color, they have the right to armed self-defense.

If all Americans perceived this common need, regardless of circumstances or the skin-tone of the particular criminals who constitute a threat, then all people would stand together.

Here are the words of conservative author, Ann Coulter, who is reviled by the progressive Left. She is writing about Robert Williams, a black man who understood the value and role of guns.

“A World War II Marine veteran, Williams returned home to Monroe, N.C., to find the [Ku Klux] Klan riding high — beating, lynching and murdering blacks at will. No one would join the NAACP for fear of Klan reprisals. Williams became president of the local chapter and increased membership from six to more than 200.

“But it was not until he got a charter from the NRA in 1957 and founded the Black Armed Guard that the Klan got their comeuppance in Monroe.

“Williams’ repeated thwarting of violent Klan attacks is described in his stirring book, Negroes with Guns. In one crucial battle, the Klan sieged the home of a black physician and his wife, but Williams and his Black Armed Guard stood sentry and repelled the larger, cowardly force. And that was the end of it.

“As the Klan found out, it’s not so much fun when the rabbit’s got the gun.

“…In the preface to Negroes With Guns, Williams writes: ‘I have asserted the right of Negroes to meet the violence of the Ku Klux Klan by armed self-defense — and have acted on it. It has always been an accepted right of Americans, as the history of our Western states proves, that where the law is unable, or unwilling, to enforce order, the citizens can, and must act in self-defense against lawless violence.’”

All things are probably going the way king Obama wants them too,if he miss uses ex order on this he will use it on anything, oops, wait,he already has(19 times)Obama and his henchmen are trying to take baby steps to kill America, and now he’s starting to show his real face and attitude, the ugly face that his wife and children have been scared of for so many years!(why you think she tried to divorce and leave him so many times!)this is why Obama didn’t want us digging around his past so much(its not just school and work birth records he’s scared of us finding)he doesn’t want us finding out what he’s like as a man!!we saw little glimps at it on tv !someone needs to get ALL his records(and really the ones pre-chicago),i was hoping Trump would be able to get them, not so far, just not yet….lets just start the impeachment trials now!!

    • shade

If he pulls an Executive Order out of his hat, the best thing that he can expect, is more killings! GOD I hope I am wrong, but then he is committing Political Suicide! I am just sorry it will be at someone else expense!

On Inauguration Day, President Obama will take the OATH of OFFICE, :–“Do you (name) solemnly swear (or affirm) that you will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that you will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that you take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that you will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which you are about to enter: So help you God?” and he said, “I DO!”.

This is same OATH I took joining the U.S. Military and going off to War. The difference, it is 45 years later and I am still up holding my Oath! Obama hasn’t kept one day of his Oath, not once!

  • shade

This is video of Newtown CT massacre, ABC News told it like it was, the President and Gun Grabbers distorted the truth for their own agenda, YES we need to be afraid, but not of guns, only the insane and those with the intent of destroying the Constitution from with in. The AR-15 Bush Master was locked in the kid’s car, it was not even a factor in the killings. He actually had 4 hand guns, only ONE of which was a Glock 9mm. I live in CT and I am devastated by this insane act. But people REALLY DO need to know the, “Rest Of The Story”!

  • shade

OK ENOUGH OF YOU ANTI-GUN NITWITS! LT. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police (Media Spokesman for CSP) who doesn’t say anything to the Media UNTIL he has all the facts told it like it was at Sandy Hook! Go to the Video below and carefully listen for his statement. “The AR-15 Bush Master was locked in the kids car” PERIOD! NOT even a factor in the killing of the innocent children, IT WAS LOCKED IN THE CAR! The kid actually used 4 hand guns, only ONE (1) of which was a Glock 9mm. As usual its the Media sensationalism for ratings that means more than the real truth!

cut and paste to your address line

P.S. And if for one moment you don’t think I care or i am not concerned, my Daughter is a Teacher, and she has a 10 year old in her charge who has a Probation Officer who is real trouble, that scares me!

I encourage impeachment articles on any reason.

    • shade

Impeachment seems to be a waste of time and tax payer money. Just when you got them by the balls, they quit!

  • Marijon Benedict

Instead of threatening to impeach the Prez for doing legal stuff, why doesn’t he try to change the law so that the powers of the presidency are diminished? As a liberal I would support that, so that when a Republican is elected president, he or she can’t use executive orders to do #&*% I don’t like.

  • shade

Larry K. all one needs to do, is stop by any Catholic Church and borrow some “Holy Water”, sprinkle it all around the White House, and the devil will not be able to leave, call, text or fax! heh heh just kidding, but worth a try! I’m sure the Catholics will be happy to share for a small donation! I’ll pitch in!

  • RUDY

All of you gun lovers who are fighting the President need to be patriots and join the Army so you can fight the real enemy n use your assault rifles. Its very easy to be so brave in the inter net,but i wonder if you really have some huevos to go out and defend this country . All of you need to join the Army and go and help the real patriots that are fighting in Iraq n Afghanistan so stop complaing, and if if you dont like the way things are going in America, pack your bags and leave, see if any other country is going to put up with your BS. Grow up squinks.,

    • Guest

I think it is you who needs a little growing up Rudy. First off, one needn’t be a soldier to be a patriot. Secondly we have every right to complain when our personal liberties are being infringed upon. This is America after all, isn’t it? And lastly, you do not speak for the entirety of our armed forces when suggesting that none amongst them are complaining as well.

      • shade

It really is amazing how the 2nd Amendment has been a round for over 200 years, and now all of a sudden its a problem! It is NOT the Second Amendment that is the issue here, it is the person with intent that is! Rudy, remember the Nazis and the Jews in WWl and WWll? Remember Rwanda? Remember Cambodia? Remember the Viet Cong? Remember the Somalia? Remember the Iraqis’ gassing their own? Remember China at the Square? Want me to name a few more? I am a Combat Vet and I killed, but it was kill or be killed! Did I enjoy it? HELL NO! But I did as my Government asked me to. I use to hunt as a kid and until I went to Viet Nam, now I shot animals with a camera! Or a gun if they are injured beyond help! My having a Legally registered gun is my right, just as you not having one is yours! I would kill today ONLY to save my Family from intruders! I would kill to save some innocent children if I were nearby! Yeah! I would, but it is because there was no other way! After all the Cops here are 45 minutes away! Hell Rudy, I would even lay my life down for you!

        • Guest

A thank you for your service to this country Shade and to the Constitution. Those like Rudy will never “get it”.

          • Deerinwater

Guest says; “It really is amazing how the 2nd Amendment has been a round for over 200 years, and now all of a sudden its a problem! ”

The 2nd amendment is not the problem ~ Gun Owner’s that can’t keep their guns out of hands of their children and then their “child” killing 20 babies and unarmed teachers like he was in a video shooting Arcade game is the problem. ~

It’s a bad deal all the way around. ~ But it’s got to stop ~ and if it doesn’t stop it won’t be because society didn’t try to make it stop.

I hate that this issue even require address, ~ but it does, ~ no matter how you or I feel about it.

As for myself, ~ I’m for public impalement for gun crimes ! Alive dead, ~ it don’t matter ~ make a public display out of criminals guilt of gun criminals until everyone gets the message ~ that they will be displayed on a stick for all the world , friends and love ones to see.

They can kill themselves ~ but they won’t avoid the display. The horrible graphics of such a display could be controlled and managed ~ Make a Carnival for profit out of it ~ and all proceeds going to the survivors ~ If blood lust is their bag ~ I say why not?

      • Guest

You’re a bit confused there Deerinwater. You are attributing a statement to me which I never made. It was Shade who mentioned the Constitutions 200 plus year existence. Please get your facts straight before posting.

      • Deerinwater

I stand corrected ~ sounds like something he would say ~ Forgive ~

      • Guest

        Apology accepted Deerinwater…have a fine evening. :)

    • Frank Kahn

Rudy, (sounds like rude) have you noticed how many posters here ARE VETERANS? Do you have any idea how many pro-gun people are VETS? Do you know how many VETS are pro or anti-gun advocates? Do you think that there is no other reason for not joining the military, other than being a coward? Do you think that people join the military so they can go blow people away with an assault weapon?

I served over 4 years in the ARMY, I never once had to kill someone with my M-16. I am not disappointed that I did not HAVE TO KILL.

I also fail to see how you can imply that someone has no balls just because they are against unconstitutional laws infringing on the right to bear arms.

      • Guest

        Very well stated Frank….

        • shade

Note to Rudy! Joining the Military does not make you a Patriot! Fighting for the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights set forth by our Fore-Fathers makes you a Patriot!

      • SJJolly

Ever notice how many panhandlers on the street claim to be veterans? (Often SEALS or other special forces). Claiming such is easy.

        • Deerinwater

Hmm? ~ No I have not noticed that here in North east Texas ~ I’ve seem maybe one or two ~ claiming to be Vets ~ while I’m sure that such things vary across the Nation. ~

I would not doubt that they are VETs ~ while special forces or Seals I would question.

It’s like the guy trying to sell a “talking dog” ~ asked why ? ~ He lies! the reply.

  • Brazzos

Representative Steve Stockman (R-Texas): where and what servic did you serve? Citizens’ against Obama doesn’t count. Hypocritic coward who lets others fight for their country. Probably made a profit of the Iraq war.

  • manuel rosa

Hey I was just wondering if it be at all possible to impeach a president for getting stupid after he takes office cause Obama fits the bill. When he is running for office he is smart then as soon as he takes office he gets stupid.

    • shade

The U.S. Constitution says, “that a President can be impeached or removed from office for several reasons”! Stupid was not spelled out, but one of the other reasons may encompass it!

  • Bob666

if that were possible, it would have happened in 2000 with “W”.

  • shade

I wish everyone would read President Dwight D Eisenhower’s going away speech! He hit it right on the head! Where have all the wise men gone?

  • SJJolly

A white, right-wing (from Texas, no less) politician threatens to impeach Obama, for some reason or other. (Yawn) Right-wing fund solicitors have been promising the same thing for the last four years. (I.e. “The sky is falling! It’s an Obama plot! Send money!”)

  • Pete

    Several things
    1) Chicago & New York have the most restrictive gun control laws in the USA yet they have the highest gun violence in the USA
    2) Mexico city DOES NOT allow gun sales yet they are they have one of the highest gun violence problems.

In short the gun control laws DO NOT WORK Why take away the gun rights for citizens. Only illegal guns and criminals are bad. Control the Gangs and criminals NOT THE GUNS

    • Ron

Thank GOD someone has some sense! I support your convictions and stand by you in this agenda! If and when the time comes, I and my many friends, will encourage our Senators and Congressman to stand with you!
