Tea Party Leaders Seek To Define Goals Ahead Of Elections

April 21, 2010 by

Tea Party leaders seek to define goals ahead of elections Amid the widespread protest of the Tea Party movement during Tax Day week, its leaders sought to define its goals, and in the process unveiled a list of friends and foes.

Richard A. Viguerie, chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, who spoke at an April 15th rally at Yowell Meadow Park in Culpeper, Virginia told activists their efforts could help restore the Founding Fathers’ vision for America.

"The Tea Parties are an unfettered new force of the middle class tapping into the anger and disappointment felt not only towards Republicans and Democrats, but most major American institutions," he said, listing Wall Street, education, Hollywood, the media and big labor as those who have "betrayed their public trust."

"This new force, unlike most conservative leaders, is unfettered by old relationships and ties," Viguerie stressed.

In a similar vein, leaders of the Tea Party Express marked Tax Day by revealing their list of "heroes" and "targets" ahead of the midterm elections in November.

Among the "heroes" was Sharron Angle, a former Republican member of the Nevada Assembly who is running against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on an anti-tax platform; California State Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, who is vying with former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina for a Senate seat and Former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio, who is facing off against Governor Charlie Crist for the GOP nomination.

Meanwhile, the list of "enemies" includes Senators Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) and Representative Barney Frank (D-Mass.).

Go tea party keep up the good work we need new members in goverment who
love this country and have respect for the constitution and all it
    stands for.

  • Chaos factor

Nothing but republicans pretending to be diffrent….and leaders of this rightwing group of racist is only interested in not paying taxes so the middle classs will continue paying for them…Like the CEO of the Massey mines in W.V that didn’t give a damn about workers safety… He called being fined over safety issues ” just the cost of doing business”…

the obama PR stunt boys see anything anti government as offshoots of the republican party. Why doesn’t the election criteria include a referendum, for the politicians to act on, instead of lobbyst demands. It could include/question an idea of reforming the government by eliminating: Lobbysts, casinos, NYSE, super delegates, electoral college, supreme court, federal reserve bank, predatory homosexual teachers for our children—resurrect the import taxation and restore our manufacturing infrastructure , when we made what we consumed, before the media went rabbid on trade unions, creating our current goods and services industry where minium wage jobs triple every 10 years, and homelessness numbers, spiraling upward, when the unemployment runs out, represents 10′s of millions, unstated in the unemployment pseudo statistics. simutaneously to the NYSE relocating our companies to slave countries, bankrupting the american companies and stealing the pension funds. Demand the legal-medical system embrace information technology, thereby eliminating the clout in courts, and the pretense academia can graduate a physician who remembers the human physiology, its disorders and remedies. We could automate healthcare costing us pennies instead of dollars.Release the 1.4 million men doing time, forever felons, who are in jail for non-support, but as studies of DNA have proven, are not the fathers, but get the lawyers more than 400,000,000 dollars a day for the county judges kingdoms of clout (criminal corruption) Eliminate the legal-medical-insurancefraud mafia, and 75% of the doctors and lawyers employed by the world class mafia who feed on fender benders with, creative medicine law, judicial prejudice, and insuranceoligopolies who go along with the plan which costs every insured american more than 800$ a year. a team of networking industrial engineers and medical technologists could install a system similar to autocad. The onebrand economy, and an ethnically lopsided legal medical community have heraled in the return of nobility, hidden by law, title, and deed. 2% of shareholders own 80%+ of the stocks and commodities, the other less than 20% are owned by transient investors, who read the medias financial publications, prepared especially for the mark. Its like Vegas, designed to let you win a little, but, lose it all. Remove the ballot and rule the country by referendum, voting when we make our tax returns. Enact Marshall Law, kick the bums out, allow the military, fbi, tsa, and dedicated federal professional employees to maintain order until a true democracy can be restored—Provide compensation for the medias journalistic integrity, making it illegal for them to be prejudice, or write about which lawyer to send to DC and get at the lobbyst cash, who outnumber them at a ratio of 160 to 1, and jail them, or shutter their mafia owned papers, radio, and television stations. Automate Academia, restore ” Constelation ” the new shuttle, and the dedicated planning at nasa, the leading edge of military technology. Return the 8,000 positions eliminated by a lawyer turned scientist. The idea that a none US citizen whose pork barrel stimulus largely is spirited out of the country in pork bellies, should be corrected. Immediately, enforce constitutional law, americans rule america, Return America to Americans, we are not hirelings, servants, slaves to a self claimed-superior race of theives, liars cheats, calling themselves religous, when the are no more than a criminal commercial gang, the world class mafia, who double their numbers every 17 years, and treat us like dirt, and they demand to be in charge. Affirmative action has no place in a country that respects equal opportunity, and does not reward race war activatist with welfare… Now for the first time in history we have one book, where everyone could be on the same page, information technology is already doubling information every few years, and we are in its infancy. Totalarian governemnts want to control it, become the trolls hiding under the bridges to information. They are the progenators who like a world who turn the resources into land and seafill, who tell you what to buy, then sell it t you. To them federal governments are a toy, a place to place their puppets while they hide in secular communities, never coming out from under their rocks. Given time, their literary hypnosis will completely destroy our habitat, and only they and their servants will survive, but not for long, as intelligence is not their bag. the lawyers are the princes and their judges are the kings, we are sorted into classes, the lower classes rights are virtually gone, if the prejudice system charges you, you are presumed guilty as charged in the corrupt courts of law, in counties throughout the country. Unless you have the cash to buy clout, then you can do whatever you like, just keep giving his lordship the cash, and you can do anything,

Jackie, The term “democracy” is one of the reasons these laws and bills and all other legislation end up on the books. I is one of the justifications put forth by the progressives to push for the law of precedence. The correct term for our form of government is REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC. There is a vast difference between the two

    • JeffH

The Tea party is endorsing a Democrat?
When the Tea Party Express last week endorsed Idaho Rep. Walt Minnick — the only Democrat to receive the backing of the conservative grassroots group, a Republican challenger was baffled by Tea Party endorsement of a Democratic rival.

Sal Russo, a strategist with Tea Party Express, said the group did reach out to a number of groups and activists, many of whom support Minnick. Democrats who “are willing to stand up to Pelosi and Reid” should get support from Tea Party organizations “to encourage others” to act similarly, he said.

“It can’t be a one-party issue. Fiscal responsibility has to be embedded in both parties,” he said.

An odd choice to be made, but it is important that the Republicans realize that the Tea Party is not a Republican movement.

      • Ted Crawford

I, for one, certainlly hope it never becomes one! Remember that “Power corrupts, Absolute power corrupts absolutely” While what the current administration has is not absolute, it’s as close as it comes in a democracy. We can, clearly, see the results are not good for the people!

    • s c

OK, Einstein. Show us how much an ultraliberal progressive truly cares about ANYONE. Drop out of that ultra-leftwing school (Berkeley?), join a mining union, and tell us what happens. Jump right in there, sonny. Take notes. Keep a diary. Conduct interviews with your co-workers in the mines. Call Oprah. Brown-nose Obummer. Then (maybe) you can be the mine safety czar.
Take the Pepsi challenge, dude. You DO “CARE,” don’t you? Or are you merely FULL of whatever it is that ultraliberal progressives are so FULL OF, bubba?

      • s c

My response was intended for the yahoo who calls himself/herself ‘chaos,’ in the event that there is any doubt.

As a tea party supporter, I am tired of being robbed at gunpoint by politicians so that they can use my money to buy votes. If that makes me a racist; then so be it. Just be aware that this “racist” was supporting a black presidential candidate 12 years prior to Obama’s campaign. I was making campaign contributions to Alan Keyes during the 1996 primaries. In fact I left the republican party due to their outrageous of this fine man: not even allowing him to participate in the debates held in Atlanta. So that is the kind of “racist” this tea party supporter is. I am also a fan of such notables as Clarence Thomas, JC Watts, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, and Star Parker. It seems that democrats and other liberals like to throw oreo cookies at black conservatives. Perhaps you should be labeling the democratic party as racist. That shoe seems to fit them much better. In fact a survey of history will show that the various “Jim Crow” laws were passed by democrat controlled states. I suspect that your tendancy to label conservatives, like the tea party patriots, as racists; is what psychologists call projection.

  • American Liberal

The goals of the tea baggers?… Just to get the big spending republicans back in power… The diffrence is democrats spend on America(healthcare) and Republicans spend on Wars, Sex Clubs and tax cuts for the top 2%….and republicans want to continue redistrabuting the middles class wealth to the rich….that’s the goal of the baggers leaders…

    • s c

Here’s your questions for the day, unAmLib. How much are you fined for not mentioning that Bush was in the White House for 8 years? I’m betting it’s a small fine, but I don’t know.
While I’m thinking about it, where are the headquarters of the Useful Idiots of America located? Do you know what the annual dues are? Without a doubt, if you don’t know, you can find out. I have faith in you.

    • JeffH

“Facts are ventriloquists dummies. Sitting on a wise man’s knee they may be made to utter words of wisdom; elsewhere, they say nothing, or talk nonsense, or indulge in sheer diabolism.”

    • Ted Crawford

I see you are still confused. The “tea baggers” are the progressives, the Tea Party are the Constitutional Democracy group! We are talking, here, about the Tea Party, not the progressives. Try to stay on topic!

    • Pathfinder

The claim that the tea party patriots want “big spending republicans” back is an outright LIE !! We want no big spenders whatsoever – from any party. We want smaller government and fewer programs: no exceptions and no excuses. This individual tea party supporter, opposes all the socialist programs which the bloated LEVIATHAN has been propagating; and that includes the “corporate welfare” so popular among the politically connected cronies in Washington DC. I am sick and tired of BOTH democrat and republican politicians wasting my money. So, when you say I want big spending republicans back; YOU LIE !!

    • http://Hotmail Sharonkt

The goal of the “baggers” is to put and support any one of any party who is sick of the repressiveness of all of the entitlement programs that take away the incentiveness of all of the people. Entitlement programs do nothing to help people pick themselves up out of the poverty the entitlement programs supress them into. The amount of unhelp in poor areas of any city is caused by entitlement programs and the level of income people become locked into by those programs. The liberals are the ones who did this to them and the ones who keep on doing it to them. AND, by the way, the ones who tried to pull ” them” up out of this situation in the first place with the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. were the REPUBLICANS. It is a matter of history that the DEMOCRATS fought the whole idea of freedom tooth and nail. The idea was put forth that all poor, supressed people, whether segregated by race, economics, or educational deficit, ARE EQUAL AND ENTITLED TO THE SAME OPPORTUNITIES AS ALL MEN AND WOMEN SHOULD BE AS ENDOWED TO THEM BY THEIR CREATOR. Gee, maybe you should kinda re-think your stance on a couple of things, HUH?

  • Gary Rhodes

Im not a tea partyer but i went to one a few weeks ago in my home town just to see the thousands that show up lol. The only thing i heard was a bunch of conservatives.Bible thumbers and they were all white except a couple blacks they brought with them.I was the only one who held there hand up when they asked who all were Democrats. They Booed me of coarse but they didnt try to run me off im glad i went now i know what there really about its not taxes. Its get the republicans back to power wich there all ways in power because there for big money.

    • JeffH

In seeking wisdom thou art wise; in imagining that thou hast attained it – thou art a fool

    • American Liberal

Gary… An honest take… These baggers are nothing but republicans being manipulated by a bunch of rich republicans that don’t want to go back to the tax code we had in the 90′s…

      • JeffH

It’s so easy to manipulate an audience, but it’s nearly always clear that you are being manipulated. I think even people that are not critically attuned are aware of cynical manipulation in liberals.

        • eyeswideopen

Jeff, you should know, as the repubs man handled us for many years, and guess what, you were man handled too!!!!! LMAO!!

        • JeffH

          Above all, ignore the audience.

  • s c

As long as they use common sense, they should put a lot of new people into office. One of the tricks will be to enforce laws already on the books, instead of constantly dreaming up new laws.
We’ve seen what happens when government won’t enforce laws we already have (can you say illegal aliens?). Tidal waves of new laws works for career politicians and keeps their sorry #^^@^ in office, but it doesn’t do anything for America.
Remember, folks, these people WON’T READ what they pass! They DON’T understand what they’ve PASSED. Make the Constitution work. And keep treasonous, useful idiots out of Washington.

  • Andy

I’VE NEVER BEEN TO A T PARTY EXCEPT ON A GOLF COURSE LOL. DO YOU THINK MAYBE ON TOP OF THE BIG MONEY THERE’S ALSO THE REASON THAT THEY DO NOT
LIKE TO SEE THIS COUNTRY SPEEDING TOWARDS COMMUNISM AS FAST AS IT IS??,
ALSO, ABOUT BIG MONEY GIVE YOU’RE SELF A CHANCE AND GET BEHIND “RON PAUL” HE IS THE ONLY POLITICIAN WHO DOES’NT WORRY ABOUT HIS OWN POCKET.

    • Pathfinder

I don’t that that Dr Ron Paul does not worry about his own pocket. We are all human and look out for number one. However, I do know that he is called Dr No for a very good reason. If the power in a proposed bill is not specifically granted in the constitution; he votes no. I find this approach to legislation to be extreamly admirable. In fact, this is the attitude that the founders intended to prevail. Thus, my thanks to Dr Paul for abiding by his oath to uphold and defend the constitution. My only regret is that I am not a resident of his district and can lend my vote to keeping him in office.

      • Pathfinder

OOPs!! The above should read “and can not lend my vote…”

  • chuck b

s.c. i doubt if most of these democratic congressman can read. they are elected from areas that have a large population of un-educated democrats. that’s why the tea party is having such success, most of the demo’s attending these meetings are learning how barry soetoro and his henchmen are taking them down the socialist road and are starting to realize their ignorance. (some that is) you can lead a democrat to literacy, but, you can’t expect him to read the sign)

“My Dear Horatios”, The term of dis-endearment used by so many of the oh so tolerant progressives – “Tea bag, Teabaggers, Baggers”, et al, is defined as: “An act of oral gratification performed on the male testicles”. How sweet of them to try and lump us in with Barney Frank. And they wonder why we seem just a tad less than civil towards them. I do wonder, what would Freud say about you? Eh? My little baguettes? [No offense to the Hospitality Industry expressed nor implied. Although I do most sincerely wish that when your lover is "Teabagging" you, someone kicks his jaws shut.]

    • Doc Sarvis

And your last sentence expresses your civility?

      • s c

Ultraliberal progressives can be so emotional. No wonder peope are turning away from your big tent, DS. That tent flap has been sewn over, and there’s no more room for anyone else. Isn’t it a bit stuffy in there?
What you call ‘civility’ is a cheap pc trick. What else could we expect from a dyed-in-the-wool, ultraliberal progressive?

      • JeffH

For a person who promised hope and civility in politics, Mr. Obama has shown a borderline obsessiveness in blaming Mr. Bush.

        • Doc Sarvis

I very much dissagree with that. From what I have heard, President Obama is one who states history factually, including his own. He also takes blame for when he has mishandled issues.

          • JeffH
        • Barb

Not borderline absolute obsessiveness JeffH! Obama will never claim blame and you Doc Sarvis are nuts if you believe what you just wrote! I sure as hell know Obama is nothing but a liar! AND will never admit blame for anything ever! He’s a dictator he doesn’t have to!

      • eyeswideopen

Doc, did you see that Sharon Angel is suggesting that you take a chicken to your doctors office in lieu of cash to pay for his services? I know the conservatives/repubs want to take us back to the 1900′s but does that mean we also should expect the kind of medical care that a chicken used to obtain?? LMAO. These people are nuts.

        • Barb

If your president has his way health care will be less than it was when a chicken paid for it! Wake up!

          • Doc Sarvis

If President Obama had his way with the Health Care Reform Bill the country would have been in much better shape. What passed is better than what was in place before but not as good as it could have been.

          • JeffH

    • JeffH

      Your point?

A truth that’s told with bad intent
Beats all the lies you can invent.

  • eddie47d

S.C. Your comments that Democrates don’t read what they pass or understand what they pass is a little arrogant. Now you don’t have to like Barney Frank but I watched a video with him at a community meeting. The questions were on healthcare and he was heckled by a few the whole time(were you there?)He said he had read the whole bill and answered every question put to him. He also pointed out to the hecklers where in the bill they made wrong accusations.

    • s c

First, what’s a Democrate? You progressives keep making up new words that don’t show up in my dictionary. Second, Baaney Fwank needs to have a serious discussion with Queen Nancy Pelosi. SHE is the ultraliberal progressive who said ‘we have to pass the (healthcare) legislation to see what’s in it.’ Only a Washington retard would think of saying something like that, but SHE said it. Look it up.
Last, Baaney Fwank will need all the luck he can get (maybe a Nixon-style pardon?) when HIS role in the housing bubble scandal is revealed. Your gods are false gods, eddie. You’ve been brainwashed, and the longer it takes you to get de-programmed, the longer America will suffer because of people who refuse to be adults.
By the way, you forgot to remind the world that Bush was in the White House for 8 years. The “I’m a progressive parrot” fine for that serious mistake will show up in your next paycheck.

  • eddie47d

JeffH, when Oidoit and his socialist, progressive, toliet water lappers, saying and thinking that, Oidoit tells factual history, you know there is a reading comprehensive understanding disconnect, with reality. But when the constant use of ditch weed and mind expanding drugs, as they have promoted in past statements. It has made them perfect government and large corporation workers, as long as someone keeps kicking their sorry behinds to motivate them. As one or two stated that pot was all natural, so is road apples and cow patties, but I wouldn’t advise ingesting it, even for these progressive, liberal, brain dead clowns. Since I work different days and nights at my own business , I enjoy seeing what the democrat loony toons have to say and comment on. I guess the dems on this site are anywhere from 20-70 years old, but some liberals never will learn or think past the crap, on what is told them as facts, like the democrat crooks and thugs do.

libertytrain, I assume that you received the same email from Bob Livingston regarding the donation to the Faith and Freedom Coalition founded and run by Ralph Reed, so after researching him, this is a warning that you might not want to send your money to him. He ran the Chrisitan Coalition until 1997 when the Feds starting investigating him for illegally passing money thru Grover Norquists American Tax Reform corporation. This was the Jack Abramoff scandal and it was Jack who got Ralph a job with Preston Gates & Ellis. This man has been involved with many nefarious situations and probably shouldn’t be trusted to handle donations from voters. http://www.thenation.com/doc/20060417/moser There are many sites showing his involvement in fraud, but you can just google his bio and see all the ties to unethical schemes. He also wrote a book, called the Dark Horse, claiming that at fifteen he foresaw a Black President, so thirty years later he wrote the book. You normally research, but just in case this one got by you and you had the urge to donate to him, I thought I would give you a heads up. Am very surprised that Bob Livingston is associating with this man.

          • libertytrain

Eyes – ??? – I didn’t post anything about this guy and honestly don’t read all my emails – so didn’t see this one. Not quite two more months and the toddlers (and their dogs) will be back with their dad as he returns from down-range and perhaps, I will once again have a little more time to research stuff again. Having had to put up with the liberal left’s lack of civility for decades, I think it is high time we conservatives gave the a taste of their own medicine. Now they wish to accuse us of being violent.
Check the record folks, it is the left which has been violent for many years, including battery, arson, bombings, and murder. (Does the name of Bill Ayers ring any bells for you ? Here is a clue for you. Barry Soetoro’s mentor.) So, now thhat we are finally taking the gloves off after decades of uncivil conduct, you can’t take it and want a return to civility. Well F*%# You. I intend to be as uncivil now as you B@$^!%#$ have been in the past. Don’t like it ? Tough S&*^!!

  • eddie47d

Paranoid pathfinder and your lack of civility and your revenge talk. Bill Ayers is no mentor of Obama’s.They just happened to live in the same neighborhood and went to a common meeting. So if you go to a Tea Party rally and a communist shows up and wants to join you folks does that make you a communist? Maybe you have forgotten about Timothy McVeigh and the militia movement which has members who have attended Tea Party rallies. So the left has taken alot of B.S. from various conservative movements also. We can all play that blame game of yours.

    • JeffH

To understand the history of the man is to understand the man’s radicalisms.

Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools
      By Stanley Kurtz
      Wall Street Journal
      Publication Date: September 23, 2008

Despite having authored two autobiographies, Barack Obama has never written about his most important executive experience. From 1995 to 1999, he led an education foundation called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), and remained on the board until 2001. The group poured more than $100 million into the hands of community organizers and radical education activists.

The CAC was the brainchild of Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s. Among other feats, Mr. Ayers and his cohorts bombed the Pentagon, and he has never expressed regret for his actions. Barack Obama’s first run for the Illinois State Senate was launched at a 1995 gathering at Mr. Ayers’s home.

The Obama campaign has struggled to downplay that association. Last April, Sen. Obama dismissed Mr. Ayers as just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood,” and “not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis.” Yet documents in the CAC archives make clear that Mr. Ayers and Mr. Obama were partners in the CAC. Those archives are housed in the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago and I’ve recently spent days looking through them.

      • JeffH

Mr. Ayers is the founder of the “small schools” movement (heavily funded by CAC), in which individual schools built around specific political themes push students to “confront issues of inequity, war, and violence.” He believes teacher education programs should serve as “sites of resistance” to an oppressive system. (His teacher-training programs were also CAC funded.) The point, says Mr. Ayers in his “Teaching Toward Freedom,” is to “teach against oppression,” against America’s history of evil and racism, thereby forcing social transformation.
