Sunshine Is The Ultimate Cold And Flu Fighter

Are you looking for some extra protection against colds and flu? Studies show it may be as simple as stepping out in the sunshine and soaking up some healing rays.

It’s been scientifically proven that vitamin D is necessary to help your body absorb calcium to build stronger bones. But this study now reveals that people with higher levels of vitamin D had considerably fewer cases of colds and flu than the folks with lower levels of the essential vitamin.

Therefore, the findings “support an important role for vitamin D in the prevention of common respiratory infections, such as colds and the flu,” according to researcher Adit Ginde, M.D., M.P.H., of the University of Colorado in Denver.

The best part is your body produces vitamin D when it’s exposed to sunlight. So doesn’t it make sense to allow a little sunshine to soak into your body in order to boost your ability to build stronger bones, but also benefit your resistance against infectious respiratory bugs? You bet it does.

Studies show the flu shots are, at best, ineffective. Anti-flu measures that really work include increasing in sun exposure, Vitamin D supplementation, avoiding sugar, eating a healthy diet of fresh fruits and vegetables, exercise, and adequate sleep.

    It needs to be exposure to sunshine without sunblock on the skin. The “sunblock is good” message has been so universally hammered home in our culture that many people would not dream of exposing any of their skin to natural sunlight without having slathered on that product. I find it interesting that everything is marketed as black and white but then not surprised when I read the other article today about the lack of logic classes and how much easier it is to indoctrinate than to teach.

    Your are on the cutting edge of preventative medicine. The key to not getting sick is to not getting sick. That has to be done through agressive preventative medicine.

    I was talking to my acupuncturist and he was telling me that in China, you pay your local herbalist/acupunturist on a monthly basis and they provide preventative treatments. If you get sick, it means they did not do their job right and the treatments are free.

    I have been following you for years and I have saved many of your articles on alternative health.

    Bob…don’t over look the disinfectant effect of fresh-air and sunshine…although that would probably be more of a UV function but D and C while hand washing and avoiding touching
    eyes,nose and mouth when it’s too cold to get outside without frostbite.

    I love sunshine and I am very upset when there is white out sky from all those chemtrails!This is not right and people should be doing something to demand chemtrails to stop. It is killing everything slowly but surely. It is insane and it is a crime!

    I’m 53 yrs. young. I used to be sickly alot esp. in winter. (less sunshine exposure) About 7 yrs. ago I started taking 6000 IU of Vit. D-3 daily. I slowly started to get the colds & flu less frequently. After about 2 yrs. I was hardly getting sick at all, and is true to this day. Little kids don’t need quite that much, but like adults, they don’t get enough Vit. D either. And don’t believe that you can overdose on this cause you can’t, within reason of course. I’m taking many times over the RDA of 400 IU for an adult, for 7 yrs. now. Big Phama & FDA doesn’t want us to exceed these RDA’s for fear we will be too healthy. I call them recominded death allowances. With todays poor eating habits (kids included) we all need to suppliment ourselves. Vit. D-3 is one of the most important. I am more health now than I have been in years. Just wanted to share this with you all. Many thanks for listening.

    It is also all about humidity, or lack thereof. Luckily, I work out of my home – so I control the temperature. At night, I keep the house temperature at 59 degrees and use wool blankets to stay warm. During the day, I wear long Johns under my clothing, wool socks and sweaters, keeping temperature at 64 degrees. Saves on heating bill, and I have the benefit of never getting sick because I am not drying out my nasal and bronchial passages by drying out my house with too much heat. If you can afford a buit–in humidifier even better. Keeping humidity between 50 and 60 percent guarantees no colds and definitely no flu viruses can attack. Plane travel: keep hands off face after touching all those seat belts, tables, etc and lightly place Vasoline coating inside nostrils before boarding for the day – no Rhino viruses can adhere to interior of nostrils, so you can fly “bug”free. Also, keep that overhead air turned away from your head – recycled air in a dry cabin is really, really bad news. Stay well!
