Student Santa Suspended

Student Santa Suspended

A Georgia high school student was visited by police and suspended from school last week after posting on his Facebook profile: “Students of cchs ur in for a big surprise tomorrow <let the games begin>”

John George, a sophomore at Crawford County High School, had made plans to dress up as Santa Claus and hand out candy at the school first thing in the morning. But parents and police officers who viewed the post took it as a threat in the wake of the horrific school shooting in Connecticut.

“As soon as we got to school we were going to meet up in the bathroom and get dressed and then go to the gym and give out candy canes and chill with our other friends,” John told a local news station.

But before he could carry out the plot, police arrived on the young man’s doorstep.

“We then spoke briefly about the nature of the post and how with the recent tragedy of school shootings that had occurred that the post could cause unrest if taken the wrong way. We then left the residence without further incident,” the police report stated.

No charges were filed, but when John returned to school he was promptly suspended. School officials said his words were “disturbing” and described his Facebook profile as having a “very Gothic and dark theme.”

What is disturbing is that the school suspended him after the police cleared him because they understood his intentions. Sometimes schools must have better understanding of many situations instead of just going gung ho on their policies.

    • STEVE E.

It’s paranoid imagination running rampant in Amerika. If he were to give out Pez candy dispensers the paranoid would say they are going to behead people.

      • Cliffystones

You mean they wouldn’t call those “high capacity magazines”?

      • DaryD

You mean like the FEMA CAMPS AND GUILLOTINES. Sorry, I misread your post. I thought it said “Prez candy dispensers…”.

    • Gordon

To profile or not to profile. that is the question.

WHAT IF he were to have a bad attitude? But then the real situation is……. the “authorities” are watching everything we say and do…… a nazi like state of affairs? Each and every opportunity will be taken to disarm the American citizens and move us to a worldwide dictatorship.

DEMOCIDE= Death by government= The purpose of citizen disarmament is to monopolize the use of force to the govenment itself: to hold the people into perpetual surrender to the governments.

In the last century 6 times more people were killed by governments than all those killed in war.

Our Founding Fathers warned us in writing.

  • Harold Olsen

This is ridicules! Do those idiots check for the boogeyman before going to bed every night. What a bunch of cowards!

    • Hedgehog

They don’t check for the bogeyman, they are the bogeymen!

      Felice Navidad!

      • ibcamn

wrong, their bogeymen henchmen, the real bogeyman is behind the pres. pulling on strings and whispering into his ear!

    • eddie47d

“let the games begin” can mean just about anything.Nothing wrong with taking precautions since these shooting are quite real. The day of the Newtown shooting there was a similar incident in Oklahoma where a student was recruiting other kids to assault the school with the weapons he brought. One of the other kids turned him in and attack never happened. Better to spoil one kids day than 20.

      • Bill

I actually agree with you, Eddie

      • larry ryan

Once the police cleared it up, they suspended him, anyway. Old poem applies here. When in trouble – When in doubt – Run in circles – Scream and shout.
Have to disagree about it being an overeaction. It was a stupid reaction. Take precautions, of course. Precautions WERE taken. But they apparently decided to panic anyway. Worst part, this particular piece of idiocy isn’t even a contender for for dumbest thing a school administration has done this year.

      • independent thinker

        “.Nothing wrong with taking precautions”

eddie this incident goes far beyond “taking precautions”. The police took precautions, they interviewed him and determined there was no threat either actual or implied then dropped the matter. The school should have followed a similar policy. Talk to him, check his backpack or whatever he used to bring the Santa suit and candy in then let him proceed.

      • STEVE E.

        Boo! Scared you huh?

        • http://www.facebook.com/holton.brown Holton F. Brown

“similar incident”? you mean the nutbag was gonna dress up like stana claus??

      • http://www.facebook.com/benjamin.fox.98892 Benjamin Fox

eddie teddy 47 ways to be a commie, is at it again with his marxist idea’s and hate of anything good. This idiot would have people like me in his concentration camps because we don’t want to be slaves to his marxist idea’s. eddie teddy is the problem, kicked God out of the schools, out of the public eye and wants a mere man to be his god? Gun Free Zones are shooting galleries for the evil people who hate God and all He stands for, the eddies of the world are the only real problem but, he looks in the mirror and says, how great I am. Merry Christmas eddie teddy, and Have a freedom filled New Year under your god obozo.

        • http://www.facebook.com/holton.brown Holton F. Brown

OK ..bennie.. bring up the theme from Twilight Zone and cue up the tape for “Monsters Are Due On Maple Street” ….so everybody is on ther same page here ..

      • ibcamn

Yo,Eddie, didn’t the National-Sozialistische-D.A.P. start out just using precaution? okay now they can jump out and say BOO!

    • Combat seabee

WHAT? or WHO? is under your bed?!!!! Idiots!!!

  • Vigilant

The suspension is JUST the sort of thing that could sour the mind an otherwise well-meaning student. Looks like the school is contributing to precisely the sort of thing they’re ostensibly trying to prevent.

  • http://www.facebook.com/holton.brown Holton F. Brown

Can you say “Over reaction” and can you also say “Humongous law suit by student and his family against that remarkably stupid high school principal” and I bet the man has his wife tie his shoe strings every morning.., LOL ..

  • Karolyn

Sad, vey sad. Unfortunately, schools are taking that “zero tolerance” reaction for everything and anything.

  • Allen Rinyon

If they had armed guards at school they wouldn’t have to worry about such junk. They could have just checked out the boy the next morning.

    • Karolyn

      TSA anyone?

      • Mikey

Wow, Karolyn…..good point! Perhaps an armed person at each school is in order, but not the “Spanish Inquisition” methods the TSA uses.

      • Robert Smith

But the inquisitions were soooooo christian.

        Rob

      • Mikey

They were wrong then….they are wrong now.

      • Buster the Anatolian

RS I saw a very good Vincet Price movie years ago that explained that very point. It turns out the inquistor was a manifestation of the very thing he was supposedly trying to expose. In other words he was not a Christion but rather of Satan and posing as a Christian.

        • http://www.facebook.com/holton.brown Holton F. Brown

That sounds like many so-called televangelists ….
praise the Lord and pass the collection tray …

      • Cliffystones

Everybody knows the “Spanish Inquisition” was all Bush’s fault!

      • Mikey

Robert, there are two types of “Christians”. One type thinks they are doing right by trying to force others to believe, even if they themselves, don’t act as Christ did. This type often ends up in pure hypocrisy, and eventually even criminal (Jim Jones, etc.)
But then there are the other type, those that try to treat others as Christ would have treated them. These type are capable of admitting to themselves that they are flawed, and not perfect, but try on a daily basis to improve. They are much more likely to help others, be charitable, and are usually quite humble and only quote biblical passages when requested to do so. They try to teach by positive example.
Please don’t assume that the obnoxious bible-thumper represents all who call themselves “Christians”.

        • http://www.facebook.com/holton.brown Holton F. Brown

There is so much truth in what you say!!

      • Gordon

Mikey. What you are saying is that 96% of the people who call themselves Christians, are NOT. Kinda like the prez. huh?

      • ibcamn

SSHHHH,don’t say that too loud, the maker’s of all the equipment that TSA uses is getting an erection!…..Obama too!

        • http://www.facebook.com/holton.brown Holton F. Brown

wait a minute .. memory serves that the liberals did not create TSA ,, that was a “gift” from the bush administration …..

  • http://twitter.com/mostquiet Margaret Manzi (@mostquiet)

Unfortunate response to a generous impulse by the young man. I hope he has a Merry Christmas anyway.

  • WILDFIRE

Well there goes Halloween for the kids – “Surprise” in now officially a dirty word and likely put on the list of forbidden words o say now because IT IS DISTURBING. So no more trick or treat because it is full of surprises and dark and gothic themes.

I suspect they will not allow him to park his car @ the school if he was to have a black car with black tinted windows and black rims because it may look too gothic and dark themed.

So that person must be mentally disturbed because they don’t drive a bright yellow VW van with flowers and a peace sign and a great big smiling face on it and wear tie dye clothing.

    • Jimmy The Greek

Hell around ten years ago i drove around in a hearse with a casket in it ,

      • Hedgehog

You were ahead of current fashion! Now, you would be called a Vandweller, or a stealth camper, or even a homeless person!

      • Bill

        Hi Jimmy,
My first car was a 1949 Cadillac hearse. I was a surfer and back then, our boards were 10 foot long. It was the perfect car to pile in all of my friend, their surfboards and head to the beach.

It had purple velvet curtains and it turned a lot of heads. I wish I still had that car.

      • Jimmy The Greek

Bill No much surfing around here , I came down from Jersey and would never get in the water around the northern gulf of Mexico , I used the casket for what i wanted to keep out of sight , however the girls loved it , i even locked one in at the bar one night ! Any woman that well ride around it that thing you know was a fun girl LOL

      • Bill

        Jimmy,
We would not double date in my hearse, we would quadruple date. Ah, the good times of youth

      • Cliffystones

One of my Pals had a ’67 Biscayne. I’m sure the line “got me a car, it’s as big as a whale and it’s about to set sail” came from that model.

      • Gordon

Actually Cliffy, the 57 Chev is a “mid-size” GM product, much smaller than the Pont-Buick-Cad chassis. Also there were no 57 Biscaynes, by name. Just Bel Aire, 210, 150.

      • Jimmy The Greek

The song you are thing about was love shack by the B-52s ” I got me a Chrysler that states about 20 so hurry up and bring your jukebox money “

      • ibcamn

yeah the days when it was fun to do the stuff you wanted without being pulled over!now if you went cruising around in that they might say your going to hurt someone to fill out some weird nechrophilia fantasy or something.or try to pin something on you because you hearse was used in a robbery somewhere in the USA!or they may tell you it’s unsafe to drive and you have to get it off the road(actually; it’s just because it’s a gas guzzler and Obama want’s all those off the roads)and as for it being black, have you noticed that a lot of the new cars,on lot,are a crappy silver or off white!?!most cars you do actually have to order black(in a hundred variations!..hey..you related to the old spots caster at all,or you just playing off the name?just wondering…..

    • Jimmy The Greek

I am Greek and my name is jimmy however i am not related that just what i am called , i have a friend whose mother is jewish his name is Jerry so he is called Jerry the Jew .

  • Jimmy The Greek

The schools here in new caney texas have had ammed NCISD police for a few years .

  • Jim

First we threw God out of the school. Next we threw out “creation”. Now we throw out Santa Claus. Who or what will be next?

    • DaryD

You forgot education. That was thrown out a long time ago.

      • Jonathan

Yes, and they replaced it with brainwashing!!!!!

      • Bill

        Good analogy, DaryD

    • Gordon

The great liberal social experiment of the ’60s is coming to fruition: 46th in education, illerate college graduates and tenured teachers, high taxes, mandated social programs, runaway spending, gun bans, forced integration, widespread hate and social fragmentation, etc.

      • http://www.facebook.com/holton.brown Holton F. Brown

Forced integration? Whoa… seeing whewre you’re coming from!!

      • Jimmy The Greek

I drove one of the school buses when they integrated the schools in boston MA in the early 70s , and i can tell you first hand that the black kids from Roxbury did not want to go to school with the Irish kids from south boston and the white kids did not want to go to school in Roxbury . that was the dam courts that did that and then kids paid for it and had there lives messed up over it every were the yellow bus went someone was hitting it with rocks .

    • ibcamn

here comes peter cottontail……hoppin down the bunny trail…..hippity hoppity Easters on it’s way……OOPS!did i say anything bad?(Easter)oh,did i say something racists?(you know, hip hop!)ah i think i’ll be okay with that,i mean it was written a while ago but it’s still okay to say it,right?….what the h..e.. double toothpick?…someones BASHING DOWN MY DOOR!!!….OH NO……aahhhhh(gunshots fired– indastinct police chatter on radio’s–glass breaking–[police:]amendment supporter in custady–over–radio static)…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..what?…..too much?

  • AutoGeek

More proof that no good deed goes unpunished in our public education system.

  • Jim Satt

Can’t hardly believe that we have sunk so low. Remember my days in school in the 30′s 40′s and 51 when we were just kids having fun and learning and also understanding what friendship was all about and how to enter the new world in front of us only to discover the Korean event and even partisipating in it. New liberal teachers suck, sorry.

    • http://n/a daleh

Jim, The “Korean Event ??’ Do you mean the Korean War?? I remeebr it well in ’51& ’52.

      • Shorty

You must not remember it too well, because it was not a “war” in the sense that Congress never signed a declaration of war. It was just another of those illegal acts of aggression by a liberal president, kind of like what Obama did in Egypt and Libya.

      • eddie47d

There has been no war in Egypt. Please tell us where the troops are hiding or the drones or the overhead flights or warships off the coast.

      • Chester

Shorty, Korea was among the first of a LOOOONG series of “peacekeeping” actions the UN got us into. Of course, there was the thing about living up to the terms of a treaty we had signed with the Korean government as well. Why is it that any time we sign a treaty, so many see it as okay as long as it works in our favor, but when it obligates us to do something they don’t like long after the original signing, all of a sudden it has no validity? It seems mutual aid treaties are only supposed to go one way, help to us, if we need it, but don’t worry about the other party if they are having troubles. Granted, very seldom do we get into the kind of fix where we would have to invoke a mutual aid treaty, but we do sign them, and should expect to live up to our word.

      • larry ryan

Treaties are not to be taken seriously. IN the history of the world, no government including us has ever honored a treaty one second longer than convenience dictatated. One of the best lines in a movie was said by Ten Bears in ‘”The Outlaw Josey Wales” – “It’s too bad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues.” When has that been not true? If we have any treaties in force that we haven’t broken, it’s because we haven’t yet seen any advantage in breaking them.

      • Gordon

Shorty, when OUR soldiers fight and die….. that is a WAR.

Please consider giving up all the liberal semantics, etc.

I’d bet good money that you have never been shot at nor have killed someone. Neither is a fun experience nor easily forgotten.

    • Gordon

Well Jim……. your comment does bring to mind mandatory acceptance of homosexuality.

  • Jamie

PARANOID ANAL ADULTS , ARE GREAT AT TWISTING THINGS AROUND FOR THE WORST

NOW THAT STUDENT HAS LEARNED TO NEVER MAKE ANOTHER PLAN FOR A FUN

  • silver

My son lost an opportunity for a very good job position because of his fb page. I kept telling him first impressions are rarely discarded and in todays world fb is part of that. He has since revised the page but a little to late for the position. Parents need to continue teaching offspring no matter what age.

    • Gordon

It still amazes me that seemingly adult individuals see facebook (etc) as fun and games. It is time to realize that someone is watching you and that your friends are willing to turn you over to the new-nazis because of some self serving, narcissistic, self agandizement bs. Real adults accept the fact that most everyone wants to stir up controversy.

      • Gordon

You know? KInd of like you wanting to call 911 about that guy speeding past you, ……. and you have a radar detector on your dash. Know that feeling?

  • s mart pants

Up next St Patrick , no wearing green . Religious and dark color .

  • MontieR

This is the life the liberal/progressives have brought us. They live in a perpetual state of fear, isn’t it fun. My question is this WHY have we allowed them to become our rulers. We have become a country of cowards.

  • ranger09

Man oh Man, Where in the Hell are we going. Paranoid policemen,Paranoid Schools, Paranoid people, Put cops with guns at ea School, Take Away the Only means for the Public to Protect themselves and their Familys and others. What has been happening to our World, Its not getting Better Just getting Worst…. Marry Christmas to One and all, And hope the New Year brings nothing but good things for all the World and its People.

    • Gordon

Where are we headed? DEMOCIDE. see post above.

  • Hope Samworth

It’s a shame that the adults in this didn’t react with more calm instead of their knee-jerk reaction. The police had already in estivated and found no threat. This child, & yes, a high school sophomore is still a child, may not have used his common sense in his cryptic post so soon after the tragedy, but his suspension is overkill. And, it sounds more likely that he was suspended for his “look” than for any real or perceived threat. Shame.

    • Gordon

What is really a shame is that there is a 16 yr old who has little common sense. He might learn a lesson but my life’s experience taught me that if someone is older than 14, they change very little by the time they are 50. Face this folks. It is this sheetbox liberal society that has been created.

      • ibcamn

thanx Gordo,i have to remember that–”sheetbox”,they always delete my words or comment for using sh#@box!and such every day words we all use(at one time or another, depending on the moment!)..any other variations you have used could be helpful to my limited vocabulary!

  • http://gillysrooms.blogspot.com Gillysrooms from Australia

Your authorities are sure jumpy even though most of your citizens have guns, the police have guns and your military personnell have automatic weapons too. Your living in a constant state of fear when anyone writes anything in facebook? Do you have enough government workers to investigate all the words written on facebook and visit the offenders ? Pity the guys who cant spell…using words like ‘Gunna’ instead of ‘going to’

  • Motov

I think security minded people have only themselves to blame, Many years ago people were not caught up in frivolous lawsuits, there was real punishment for crimes, Kids got spanked for doing wrong, Then some loonytoon said we gotta spock our children, watch out for their self esteem. They grow up learning there are no real consequences for their actions, They also learn they can use excuses programmed into their skulls, that they may have a learning disorder, and need drugs to remain sedated, instead of learning how to get through tough times with puberty with out chemicals. If they fail the are no longer held back. Standards of excellence means nothing anymore. They dress like morons, wearing clothing that are way too big. Many go to school not to learn but how to disrupt classes, meet up with fellow gang members, plan attacks on rival gangs etc.

All because of liberals good intentions gone awry, There are reasons why PROVERBS was written, One would attain better knowledge on child raising. than modern shrinks know.
