Stimulating The Crash

August 11, 2010 by

Stimulating The Crash

The chair of President Barack Obama’s White House Council of Economic Advisors quit last week, the day before the elitist no-nothings in charge declared their “surprise” that 130,000 more jobs were lost in July.

That chair, Christina Romer, said she was headed back to Berkley and her spot in academia where she can pour failed Keynsian economics into the noggins of another generation of empty-headed college kids so they can move on to highly-paid government jobs where they can manage (ie., wreck) our economy at some future date.

Romer is the clueless neo-Keynsian who drafted the February 2009 report “The Job Impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan,” which the White House touted in its efforts to pass the $1 trillion stimulus bill. It was upon Romer’s report that the fascists trashing our economy based their predictions that if Congress passed the stimulus bill unemployment wouldn’t rise above 8 percent and would be dropping by now to around 7 percent.

There is no end to the folly that the de-stimulating stimulus bill has wrought. Not only has unemployment consistently remained at 9.5 percent and above, but hundreds of thousands of additional potential workers have just given up looking. Some analysts say the real unemployment rate is above 15 percent.

Senators Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) have released a report highlighting the folly of the stimulus spending. On the list is $554,760 for the Forest Service to replace windows in a closed visitor’s center at Mount St. Helens, $762,372 to create Dance Draw interactive dance software, $62 million for a tunnel to nowhere in Pennsylvania that the state’s Democrat Governor Ed Rendell called a “tragic mistake,” $1.9 million for international ant research and $308 million for a joint clean energy venture with BP.

Tragically, there are many more just like these. And what’s worse, the money that didn’t go to this type of foolishness was used to pay off Obama’s union thug supporters like the Service Employees International Union.

Seeing no end to friends deserving to be paid off, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called House members back from their August recess vacations on Tuesday to print more money and hand it over to the teachers, police and firefighters unions in the guise of a $26 billion state aid bill.

Meanwhile, Obama was out doing the one thing he does well, trashing his predecessor and his “disastrous policies.” He conveniently leaves out the fact that he voted for many of former President George W. Bush’s disastrous policies and has since ramped them up to infinity.

But is it surprising? After all, all government economists were trained under the same Keynsian theories and none of them saw the recession coming to begin with. They see improvement where there is none and are continually “surprised” by the bad news.

However those who saw this crisis coming, folks like Mark Faber and Gerald Celente, are warning about the second leg of this crash. And it’s going to be worse than the first.

Continuing to print fiat money in order to prop up the failing system is a doomed policy. The crash is coming, dear reader. Don’t be surprised.

So does Romer have a guilty conscience, or did she realize it was time to distance herself from The Anointed One? I suspect it’s the latter, as a Keynesian ‘expert’ is someone who is never on speaking terms with reality.
She’ll be safe back at Berkley, where daisies are roses, up is down, and economics is just a word to be defined and re-defined whenever it’s convenient.
I suppose a realistic, conservative could somehow get appointed to replace Romer, but then that’s about as likely as someone opening a ski resort in hell. Whatever happens, conservatives know Romer is a bona fide QUITTER, and her stint in Washington shouldn’t do anything to enhance her over-rated resume.

    • alpha-lemming

Kudos!! With one exception. To the people who would/will be hiring Ms. Romer… this type of government utilization of the peoples dime (useless at best, counter productive at worst, anti-Constitutional in reality) is a resume enhancement.

    • refuse2lose

I really wouldn’t put much substance into anything McCain says or does anymore. He and Graham have shown they are on the same side as those who wish to crush our country.

I found a couple things interesting in this story…. first that this current administration would assume that we are stupid enough to believe that he is spending another 26 billion because he really cares about the teachers, police and firemen. Funny how this is happening just a couple months b4 the November showdown.

Second,I found it interesting that Romer found a job TEACHING so quickly after resigning her post. I thought TEACHERS were part of the group that were being laid off? I guess being part of the Federal Govt definitely has it’s fringe benefits.

      • Angel Wannabe

refuse to lose, this 26 billion stimulus Obama just spent, is nothing more than, to insure continued union votes!

        • Barnabus1

Union votes isn’t going to be enough!!! Obamasan knows this!!! That’s why he’s trying to force Amnesty…they should vote Democratic, and we lose our last chance to save our country!!
He is also trying to make Puerto Rico a state…mostly Democrats there!! If we can’t change things in Nov…it will be too late to change them…the evil is almost already too far entrenched!!
Already in our courts, they say citizens have no legal standing!!!

Not to mention the obvious side effect of INFLATION and its theft of the value of our currency.

      • viktor leben

Being a Federal employee is great ! You get alot of “consideration” from your political “godfathers” ! I’m unemployed and I’m waiting for Tier 5 to be passed, when the Democrats come back from their August vacations…..

So my vote is up for “sale”… If the Democrats come thru, I’ll vote for them. If they don’t pass Tier 5 unemployment benefits, then I’m voting Republicrook !!!

        Gotta eat !

        • Heather

Get a job you lazy piece of welfare sucking parasite!!! And don’t tell me there are no jobs for you to find. It’s called get off the couch and submit a RESUME… To everyone if you have to! If you don’t know what that is.. I suggest you go down to your local High School and ask one of the teachers or students to show you!!! It’s people like you who are making these situations worse… Not that you would care that your taking money from your fellow American through tax cuts out of our paychecks…I’m sure your rolling your eyes and saying.. “But I deserve it! and besides there aren’t any jobs I want out there..” “Whine Cry Whine Cry.. Boo FREAKIN HOO”. Maybe you will learn when the money stops coming in because others complain the way that you do and lose/quit their jobs… I have never taken unemployment… If I lose my job then I go out and find another one… Any job will do until I find something better. I’ll work two jobs if I have to just to get the bills paid… It’s called RESPONSIBILITY.. My parent’s taught it to me.. But I guess we should feel sorry for you because I’m sure no one ever told you about that sort of thing! Your as bad as the thieves in the White House!!!

$554,760 for windows in a visitor center? Windows, half a mil.? I don’t know how big that building is,but I bet it was built for less than windows for it will cost. I don’t call that good stewardship of our tax dollars. Nov. can’t come fast enough.

    • James

Jim H., They are just dumping money around to keep the economy from collapsing until after the November elections.

    • Dale

Jim, did you notice it said the building is closed? Talk a bout misuse but then what else can you expect from government employees that are not required to prove merit to get a pay raise.

Have you ever noticed that every time government raises taxes government employees get a pay raise that more than covers the increased deduction from their paycheck?

Talk about stupid, increase taxes on the private sector then give it away with a bonus to the government employees. They are so damm dumb that they haven’t figured out they are killing their only source of revenue…. private sector businesses and employees.

      • viktor leben

I think they get a pay raise + cost of living increse …….

    • Barnabus1

They are converting many windows in government buildings to bullet proof…they know the populace is getting disgusted!!

      • viktor leben

Those windows are bullet proof ? Do you think bullet proof windows are going to stop rocks/bricks thrown by rioters ? What about the average Tea Party member’s armory ? Don’t you Tea Partiers have a M-72 Light Anti Tank Weapons, right next to your tactical nukes ?

I’m a life member of the NRA – nothing wrong with you people ….

    • Jerry D

All of this just shows that our government really doesn’t care about the will of the people.

      • viktor leben

The will of some “people” matters to them, the one with the buck$$$ !

        • JC

Like the Global Bankers that own our Government lock stock and barrel?

  • WarriorH

And so during these difficult economic times, isn’t it comforting to know that the federal government has increased its patronage ranks by about 170,000 and that the average fed employee’s package is more than double the average private industry’s. God forbid any gov union workers should have to take a cut in pay/benefits. The more preferred union tactic is to threaten layoffs and the ruling class just keeps playing the same tune.

    • taxman

Do you know how many kinds of taxes there are? We are working as much as we can to come up with new and innovative ways to get more money for Obama and the democrats to spend. Cap and trade will happen under a different name and the vat tax is very sneaky so you will not be able to tell just how much it is costing you. If you come up with a good idea for a new tax we will reward you with tax credits for the next 10 years, just send the ideas to Obama for reelection Washington DC. Oh by the way we are hiring, apply at any city IRS service as we have at least one in every city. Pay and benefits you would not believe. Thanks for your support.
Remeber it is not the cost of the windows but the pay for the union workers. We have many many more of these jobs also to hand out to unions only. You can apply at the same addesss.

Bush should be trashed. I don’t like where the Obama administration is going or it’s socialist propensities however, Bush fascism wasn’t any better.

Until we somehow, someway abolish the private Federal Reserve, our problems will never end. The system was designed to someday fail. It has to fail and it will fail. When it does fail, our lives will be in the hands of the people with the capacity to inflect death and suffering… police and military. Will they side with the Banksters at the top, as they have been doing, or will at least some of them side with the people and question their orders that ultimately come from the banksters before they inflict unquestionable horrors upon the peons? In other words, will the police and military earn the recognition and God like status they receive on many of our holidays like the 4th of July and Memorial Day? Will they do the right thing or throw in the toilet what countless military personnel died for in previous wars?

Speaker Nancy Pelosi argued, last month, that extending unemployment benefits (past the current two-year limit) is the best way to stimulate the economy. She said: “It injects demand into the economy… It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.”
Anyone who believes she and other big-government spenders are that dumb, has fallen for their trap. They know perfectly well all this borrowing and spending will make Americans forever beholden to the big bankers, and create ever more crises that future congresses will then have to tinker with. If endless unemployment compensation is good for the economy, why not just give every American a million dollars, so nobody has to work anymore?

    • Warrior

Nancy may be the most hated person in America. There I said it, now you can call me a racist.

      • s c

Warrior, if Queen Nancy isn’t #1, she’s definitely among the nation’s top ‘Five.’ When it comes to pure racism, don’t forget to include reverse discrimination specialists, all affirmative action programs and every useful idiot who supports abortions.
They are America’s “unholy three,” and they are part and parcel of what makes a progressive what he, she or it is.

        • Warrior

And it’s a damn good thing all this new legislation has it’s very own affirmative action components. HC; Stimulis; Student Loans, you name it. I wonder does the concept of affirmative action have a sunset date or is the whole reparation concept infinitum???

      • Jerry D

What’s racist about telling the truth? Keep it coming.

        • Warrior

Evidently, if anyone disagrees with the REGIME, that qualifies as being racist. You see, racism comes in many forms. You are partially racist if you’re against Obamacare but for finance reform. You may be partially racist if you agree with Cap and Tax but don’t agree with the government take over of student loan program.

You are a complete racist if you don’t agree with any of the REGIMES programs. That’s the best way I can explain it.

      • Bob Wire

        I wouldn’t call you a racist.
I’d call you a person with a very small circle of friends harboring illusions that you and your friends represent the bulk of the American people and their sentiments.

What amazes me is that this administration could of put the job numbers way up just by kicking the 5-6 million in the U.S. workforce that has collected 96 weeks of unemployment to the curb(126 weeks of unemployment is ridiculous). You will not believe how fast you can find a job when you have no check coming in the mail every two weeks. The problem is that when you are getting $400-500 a week in unemployment benefits. The mindset among the unemployed is “why take a job paying $600 a week when I am getting $500 a week coming to my mailbox. So I am going to work 40 hours for $100 a week. Take out gas, time, taxes, and I am going to work for 40 hours for about 40 more dollars. Until kicked to the curb this portion of the workforce will sit at home and collect until someone stops the checks. Government has become too big of an employer, and way too generous an employer paying double in comparison of the private sector. The U.S. government needs to layoff thousands(oh lets not step on any of the corrupt unions toes)Same with the state level.county level, and local(municipal) level, or to prevent layoffs take massive pay cuts like the private sector and new hiring policies, lower pensions and a use it or lose it sick and vacation pay policy(sick and tired of school administrators and police and fire chiefs taking hundreds of thousands of dollars when they retire claiming they did not use sick or vacation time over 20 plus years)

    • Robert

Maybe there are a lot of unemployed that think that way but don’t include us all. I’ve been out for 19 months and hit the sidewalk every week looking for a job. And $400-$500 a week doesn’t cut it for me. I’m into my savings every month for $1,200 to keep up with my expenses. Like $700 a month medical insurance. Unemplyment covers my rent and utilities, that’s it. I have a network of over 200 associates who are out of work and we’re all actively looking. Maybe the Mexicans and B1H1 visa people are happy with the unemployment but this White, Senior who has worked all my life is not. I want a job and one that pays me according to my education and work experience. I’m no God Damn illegal or dot head willing to work for less than minimum wage. And being a God Fearing Catholic doesn’t allow me to enter politics since I don’t believe in screwing my fellow human being.

    • Jerry D

They could have kicked the jobs up even more by shutting down the border, punish employers for using illegals, and then send the illegals home.

    • skeeter

They are using the unemployment to keep the masses quiet. Obama would already be out if unemploymet was shut off and the boarders continued to bleed. But don’t count on the career politians (Republican or Demicrat) to even blink an eye at selling us into slavery. Tey are , with very very few exceptions all in it together. If we don,t vote all the incumbents out in November and the next one in 2012 the worst day you ever had will feel like heaven in comparison. Remember this day and the words I write. We all need to do the right thing. Our lives and the lives of our famillies depend on what we do from this point forward. Some of my friends thought I was silly when I predicted most of the things that have happened several years in advance, but they aren’t laughing now. Most of them are still in shock that it has gone this far. Now is the time to stop them this is no joke.

he didn’t kick our sandcastle down in 15 months. ~ It was falling down when he took over. ~

        August 5th Washington Post
“Since January 2009, the Senate has failed to take up some 350 bills passed by the House on issues including climate change, jobs, housing, campaign finance and food safety. On Wednesday, two Republican senators broke ranks to pass a $26 billion measure preventing layoffs of teachers and state workers. “I really don’t envy [other GOP senators], having to go home and explain what they just didn’t do,” said Senate majority leader Harry Reid, commenting after the vote.

        Politicofacts Truth-a-meter

“In tough times, though, Congress often extends benefits, because of the difficulty of finding new jobs when unemployment is very high, as it has been since 2008, when the economy floundered. As a result, Congress has been arguing this summer about extending benefits again after extending them five times since Obama took office in 2009.”

The economy FOUNDERED in 2008 ~ and this Foundering was brought on by an inept administration that thought Tax Break for everyone and starting two military campaigns on two fronts with “no” exit plan and “no” plan to pay for them was a pretty “KOOL” idea.

      • Bob Wire

I agree Dale , I’d say it’s closer to 20% myself ~ It’s bad out there and getting worst! ~ The middle is drying up quick now, people that might have felt immune are feeling it and if something don’t change few will be immune. ~ My residential accounts has really been off, I can count new customers on one hand for 2010. If it wasn’t for Cooperate and light Commercial Accounts I’d be on the street corner with a sign “Work for Food”

“During his eight years in office, President Bush oversaw a large increase in government spending. In fact, President Bush increased government spending more than any of the six presidents preceding him, including LBJ. In his last term in office, President Bush increased discretionary outlays by an estimated 48.6 percent.

During his eight years in office, President Bush spent almost twice as much as his predecessor, President Clinton. Adjusted for inflation, in eight years, President Clinton increased the federal budget by 11 percent. In eight years, President Bush increased it by a whopping 104 percent.

One reason offered for these large budget increases is that entitlement programs are growing rapidly. Although Social Security and Medicare spending growth outpaced most other programs in the mid-1990s, spending growth in discretionary programs has accelerated in the last 15 years, especially during Bush’s two terms. Between FY2002 and FY2009, discretionary spending rose 96 percent.

Some argue that federal spending during the Bush years was so high because security needs drove up the budget. It is true that defense spending increased dramatically since the late-1990s, particularly since 9/11 and the beginning of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, nondefense spending increased too. Some also argue that much of the increase in nondefense spending stemmed from increases in homeland security spending. Whether this is true, the overall rapid rise of discretionary spending indicates that, here too, the administration and Congress made no trade-offs in the budget. If the administration and Congress wanted more security spending and wanted to be fiscally responsible, they should have found savings elsewhere in the budget.

President Bush added thousands of new federal subsidy programs during his eight years in office. In 2008, there were 1,816 subsidy programs in the federal budget that spread hundreds of billions of dollars annually to special interest groups such as state governments, businesses, nonprofit groups, and individuals. The number of subsidy programs has grown by 30 percent since 2000 and by 54 percent since 1990.”

Now understand me, I’m not BASHING BUSH !!! OKay? ~~ But we need to understand how we got here! This didn’t happen in the last 16 months!

The Administration and Congress ( with the help of the Senate ) when completely stupid! ~ Spent money recklessly and unwisely ~~ and now we are “all” paying for it!

Now ~ we are going the other way ~ We want this problem fixed but please don’t spend any money to do it!

That would be great if the private sector would cowboy up but they are not. The few that’s got it too spend, the ones that benefited the most from tax break and was suppose to invest and let the “Trickle Down” begin are not honoring their side of the deal. They’ve gone Global ~ they can find a better deal somewhere else, choosing to not investing back into America.

It’d be a wonderful thing if we could work our way out of this mess without opening up another family size can of “Whoop Ass” ~ we are going to run out of friends if we keep doing it to solve our economic problems.

So you want to blame this President, claiming he spent some money try to save what seemed important to save? Okay ~ Fine I understand you thinking. You are hoping somehow things will improve if the Fed does nothing. Maybe you are right. “May the meanest and strongest survive” ~ I just worry about my women and children in such an environment, I can’t oversee their every move and depend on civility and a stable setting for them to move about in. We can barricade up ever night and run a armed convoy to the grocery store.

The Fed started down the wrong road in it efforts to stabilize the economy with the very first “Bail -outs” and this too happened under 43′s administration and seemed to set some kind of presidency.

What should have happen, is let everyone fall on their venture capitalist a$$. ~ But that frighten too many people to ever allow it to happen.

It kind of dilutes the very meaning of “Venture Capitalist” ~ it take the “venture” out of the process ~ leaving us with Socializes losses and Privatized Profits. Or “Welfare for the Rich” however you wish to see it.

Bob Bob Bob… you’re entitled to your opinion, but PLEASE… at least tell the truth!!

Republicans, when they vote in lock-step (which both sides usually do), cannot stop ANYTHING (Obama-care ring a bell)!! They can’t vote it down, filibuster, amend… ANYTHING!! The guys you’re really mad at are defecting Dems. So… in the spirit of giving credit where credit is due… Chairman ObaMao HAS ushered in a new era of bi-partisanship….. AGAINST his policies.

      • Bob Wire

LOL! And at this moment the truth is ~(drum roll) 350 bills have pasted the 111th Congress and are presently stalled in the Senate.

Unfortunately that’s not an opinion but the GOP playing good football.

The Senate under 43′s tenure was rubber stamping just about everything that came before them ~ but now they are back a being Conservatives with a Democratic for President.

Seems they want the Fed to spend no money and raise on taxes and everything to be great in La La Land. ~

I think that’s a good idea. ~ We need to shut the Fed down for at least 60 days. ~ Let everyone go home a take a long nap. Everybody stop!
No money out ~ no money in!

There would be riots in the streets inside 30 day. There’d be chaos and mayhem everywhere you looked. The Senior’s would be out in arms.

There be people displaced and on the streets, ~ the black market and trafficking would rise up and flourish. Violent crimes against persons would rise. Police and Firemen would start walking off the job to stay home to guard their families as the ripple effect reached state, county and city governments.

It’s true we’ve become too dependent on the Federal Government.

So is there a rehab for such things? 14 days and a couple of
        3 day follow ups?

    • Warrior

Bobbo – mark my words, the current crop of congressional creatures are doing everything in their power to make the political landscape as toxic as possible for the incoming congress. The dems certainly realize it is now a lost cause so they are going to spend spend and spend so that when the successors have to restore discipline and communicate that cuts have to be made, the masses will object and come running back to the party of give aways. It’s always easier to give away someone else’s stuff. Don’t you agree?

      • Bob Wire

I think most people will vote their pocket book. ~ some 28 % with vote their ideology regardless. Where it’s a gay or right to life or a birther issue.

What The GOP is hoping for is, “to pin the tail on the donkey!”

They are sure trying hard from the beginning ~ While most American are by no means stupid, he is gullible and naive. We tend to believe anything we hear if it’s repeated enough times by pretty pleasant faces. Hitler use the German people misery to his advantage, it’s been done before. Playing both end against the middle is an old and common strategy.

As a child I shared a bed with a little brother that on occasions pee’ed in bed. There were many mornings it wasn’t exactly clear who the guilty party was. He had me even questioning myself at time.

And so it is with this present affair. ~ Can the GOP defer the blame?

        Darn right they can.

I just wish they had decided to be good conservatives much sooner!

But the truth it ~ I’m doubt if they’ve changed at all ! ~ Offering a solid opposition to a Democrat’s administration does in “NO WAY” make any of them Conservatives! It only makes them “GOP” members.

Would you not agree with that line of thought?

That someone would fly a McCain banner and expect me to vote for him and only later call him a RINO and want to get rid of him.

What’s this suppose to tell me about you?

And now, you trash my choice and want me to follow your lead?

Do you see anything wrong with that logic?

        • http://?? Joe H.

          Barb Wire,
Quit guessing, it wasn’t your brother!!!!

    • Jerry D

If the truth be known, if you include all of those who aren’t eligible for unemployment pay and those who are no longer eligible, it is probably closer to 15 percent now.

  • http://gmail i41

Another thing State Legislatures can do, is pass a rule which most states don’t have. Is to make it easy for the citizens to throw out their representives who don’t follow the citizens wishes, who elected them. Reps and Sens who have blown off people voting with their marxist muslim moron. Health care comes to mind. When the beltway get it hands around their nads, they forget who elected them to the office.

    • independant thinker

The biggest thing a state can do is require a balanced budget, no deficit spending. There are, I believe, 3 states that do that and all three are in reasonably good financial health at the moment.

    • Dan Burke

It used to be that state legislatures appointed senators and the people elected representatives. This was a natural break on government excess because senators were accountable to their states and COULD be recalled.

  • http://gmail i41

I see the wire is spouting his marxist muslim moron love crap this morning. Just another socialist that still cann’t accept the fact his communist bastardized group has this nation going to hell in a broken cart. These stimulases are not working and unemployment shows that. As the saying goes, paychecks talk and b–l s==t walks, and all socialist democrat are walking bloated bags of it.

    • Angel Wannabe

!14, you got that right! :)

      • Bob Wire

Attempting to label me as such is just another indication you don’t have a clue what you are talking about. ~ I’ve never bothered to defend myself from such charges, for they are so utterly asinine to even bother considering.

I’m probable one of the few people on this forum that depends less on government then any of you! There no government money coming into this household in any manner and never has. I greatly dislike government and required to deal with it on a daily bases. Sometimes going to great lengths to avoid entanglement and keep government out of me and my clients business.

In taking an inventory of my transgressions of a “socialist” nature, I recall being married to an woman at one time, that drew unemployment, I improved my education with VA benefits after completing my military obligation with the US Army Infantry. I use your roads and bridges and my aging parents of 86 & 81 are retired and on medicare.

For these things ~ I owe you no apology. You can call me anything you wish ~ but it’s your absurd foolishness that showing and not mine.

That’s one of you people biggest problem, things you don’t like to hear ~ you label and put in a box. You feel better with yourselves this way, I suppose, I can’t explain your action or your thoughts. It takes all I can muster to refrain from putting you in a box labeled “stupid”.

You are the ones ~ that supported a failed party and a Bow WoW of an administration. ~ So what in the hell make you think you know what you are talking about now? ~ Where and when have you been “right” in the last 8 years? ~ 43′s 2nd term was bought and paid for with tax cuts, Now, with the goods delivered to George and you ~~ and you still expect this administration to honor GW’s deal? ~ WHY? because you need them? What happened to the notion of “Country First” Mc Cain was trying to sell us? McCain was asking you to put your country first, is that being a Marxist, a Socialist?

I’d say the government needed to have spent less if it was to give away tax cuts, but what it did was borrow and spend more! ~ You know the things you like to accuse the democrats of.

If you can be so very wrong about me ~ where else are you wrong?

This mindset, this attitude you carry ~ is contradicting and self-defeating.

How hard can it be to understand that the previous administration “GREATLY” overspent? Overspent and obligated us for years!

There not a man or woman living or dead that can get us out of this mess and make us (everyone) happy about it. I’m much more unhappy with my fellow Americans and government then ever. You fail to see you deserve the pain for your foolishness. So you whine and cry and call people names that speak in disagreement with you as you do love company.

When are you going to accept that?

        Never, is my guess.

    • al sieber

i41, I second that, a few weeks ago I thought there was some hope for him, no more.

      • Bob Wire

You wish close your eye and argue with me. ~ That the Senate has stalled
350 bills sent to their by the Congress ~ You are somehow thinking “Yea! Team!” ~ stop that spending! ~

I’m not suggesting all 350 should get through the Senate ~ but one would think some would be worthy merit and consideration given the present gloomy economic forecast, basically some kind of stall, spin, crash and burn scenario. ~ You seem to be celiberation
But I call having 350 pieces of legislation blocked in the Senate a problem for the American people and American Politics.

Stimulus was a lie, designed to pile up debt for the American citizen to the point we cry out, then they the Marxist-Progressive Liberal cabal plan to tell you:

“See! Capitalism does not work, and we have a nice Marxist-Dictatorship solution for you…”

When in reality it is they, the Marxist-Obama Democrats and Progressive liberal Republicans that have been running the system into the ditch. The Obamacrats are just doing the damage at breakneck speed, for power and control — over you.

It was a lie “only in the sense” Tax cuts stimulate growth and creates jobs.

Nether is a lie ~ but they both failed to produce the desired results.

But one of them was much more expensive the the other.

  • D Duda

FYI they are quietly putting together another #?-billions stimulus package but it is very difficult to find any news about it. They really are crazy and uninformed, or maybe we are uninformed?

    • Warrior

Or, maybe we’re crazy? Anyway, I have heard the same rumor from a reliable source a couple of months ago. The funding is to be used in assisting developers to purchase properties. Potentially the money would be funneled through municipality TIF programs.

  • Robert

I am now going into my 19th month unemployed. Since my last job I have been on 27 job interviews and applied for over 300 job posting positions. My expertise is in the Financial Service Sector as a business analyst with over 40 years of experience in the securities part of the industry. I try not to get discouraged but I’m not going to work for illegal immigrant or B1H1 visa rates. Sorry that some may say any job is better than none, but don’t insult me with a $16-$18 hr rate. After taxes and transportation expenses I would have roughly $7-$9 an hr left to pay for rent, utilities, insurance and food. Maybe if I lived in Mexico or India I would be living high on the hog but not in this country. I applied for over 40 government job listings and not even a response. I was told to contact my elected representative to have them look into this and possibly get somewhere. When I did that, Nothing. But I sure got a letter in my mail asking me to donate to their re-election campaign. So this is what Big Brother is all about. Spend recklessly, ignore the average citizen and then show concern only at election time. These politicians should all be lined up and shot like the dirty scum they are.

Angel – Claire and I discussed this last week – and pretty much agreed we’d easily scrub floors or clean toilets for our families. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty and do what needs being done for the sake of family. al sieber– True words. If a person gets hungry enough–they have two choices–go to work for whatever wage they can get or steal. I would choose to work. I am not a thief. And I sure as heck do not believe in welfare especially if I am strong and able.

    • Bob Wire

Robert, ~ ~ you are in the same boat with a lot of people.

What ~ I’d tell you today ~ is quit looking for a job ~

And make you a job! ~

You have already excepted the math ~ It cost you 10 dollars an hour just to be employed. ( that sounds a little high)

Now that you know that and accept it as a fact.

Start your own business ~ and it will “be on you” to determine how much the job will cost you. ~ This is something you have some control of.

      One chain saw ~ 175.00 , gas ,10.00 ~ one tree haircut ? 265.00?

first job , you’ve paid for your saw! ~ The 2nd job ~ you enjoy greater profit margins.

or ~ Fence repair ~ or graffiti abatement ~ get with a neighborhood watch program. Code blue , citizens groups , etc! get with your city government. ~

There is thousands of ways to make a dollar ~and it’s fun!

Lot more fun then working for 18.00 per ~ ~ somedays I Make nothing , in fact I spend hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars ~ ~ But you must not look at it by the day ~ but by the year. ~ Some days ~ my gross is ~ quite substantial.

~ Make you a job Robert! you don’t need anyone permission ! If you’ve been as hungry as I been at times ~ You can get bold and make it happen. Promise.

    • http://?? Joe H.

I know a lot of people that are working for less than that and living on it! They may not be living in the pent house and eating baluga caviar but they aren’t starving either. Maybe you need to cut expenses a little!

    • Steve

I don’t think you’re the “average citizen” you refer to in your post or you wouldn’t have passed on a $16-$18 per hour job. I would go back and take it because things are only going to get worse before they get better (if they ever do). 6 months from now the wage for that job might only be $10 per hour and it will be filled by some starving bastard that is happy to have it so he can feed his family. Do like Joe says and cut a few corners. You don’t say what your exact situation is with expenses, credit cards maxed? etc, but I know a few people who manage to live on less than $10,000. per year. Even if you’re over leveraged right now, you can still climb out of it and survive if you have “some” income.

  • atlas reborn

The only way to correct the problems of America is to cut off its unrestriceked funds from the taxpayers. when the federal government learns how to balance a budget I will probably allow them a small increase in their funds. but not before they start paying off the

the government does not know how to budget and should never be allowed to tax untill they have a real balanced budget and pay down the debt.

    • Jerry D

      I concur.

    • Bob Wire

Hmm? good point! but how? I fear we’d have to kill somebody!

  • bobinpa.

You won’t accept a $16-$18.00 dollar an hour job, but you will continue to stay on the dole and collect unemployment. Isn’t that nice and thoughtful of you. Your a perfect example of what they meaant when they said extending unemployment benefits should be renamed “WELFARE”. I wonder how many people out there unemployed would jump at 16-18 dollars an hour. Americans used to believe “If you don’t work, You don’t eat” Socialism has changed all that. I sure hope your not looking for sympathy for your being out of work 19 months. Yeah, Right.

  • Bob Wire

You are not going to get much sympathy from anyone Robert for turning down a 18.00 dollar per hour job.

I don’t know what you were use too ~ I was carrying on a conversation with Wall Street broker agent a few months back and he felt pretty down and put out as well. Much like yourself, he felt over qualified and under paid and over worked. ~he was lashing out at the bad press they’d been getting ~ but unkind him , you are not lashing out, but sharing.

Slow starvation is not a lot of fun. This is true but you have to apply yourself ~ it’s supply and demand at work, ~ Employers get to pick ~! Having being burned many times by new hires ~ They’ve get you as cheap as they can. ~ That’s entry level ~ unless you are coming to the party with a very strong Rez and a letter of introduction from a “known Scorpion” of high regard, entry level is where you will start ~ Or Know someone on the inside that willing to speak up for you. Someone that’s willing to place their credibility on the line for you. ~ That’s the way people get the “good jobs”

Each trade or field is different and the demands are different.

For Blue collar trades ~ get with “Otis” and be an elevator installer and then work to become a trouble shooter. I doubt if there is 15 such men in the Houston area. And they bring in the big bucks.

Or an escalator repair man. ~ Very unattractive work while the liability is huge and the pay high. Or a Door handler man ~ there doors out there that weigh a ton ~ huge doors ~ and they do only two things, open and close. ~ These jobs are very unattractive but require very bright minds and a devotion to the job ~ few people seek them and apply for them. You not going impress chicks ` telling them what you do. ~ That’s just the sickness we have in our society today.

Can you imagine a world without doors or elevators or escalators? That’s as much job security as being a plumber.

It’s easy for anyone to get the a point, that every direction we look, all we see is walls. ~ It’s not hard for anyone to end up in this position. I’ve been there many times myself.

Sometimes we all have to “Relearn” what an opportunity looks like!

They are in front of you everyday ~~ you are just not ready to see them. You are not ready to follow them.

    Good Luck with your search

  • Bob Wire

Hmm ! What a week! The phone’s started ringing off the wall Monday morning.

It appears that someone in need of a little “stimulus” money manage to get on top of one of my office buildings and destroyed 14 AC package units.

Cut out the copper coils, ripped and tear, sheet metal bent to hell, screws and pieces thrown about. ~ I suppose we are lucky for they only make one pickup truck load. There is 36 of them up there, ranging for 20 tons down small 3 tons units. Thank god, they left the big ones alone, to heavy to carry I guess ~ anything 5 and down was fair game.

We’ll got displaced tenants, put them out of business for a few weeks ~ No Air Conditioning on August day in Texas is hard to handle.

The biggest tenant ; Fort Wort Star Telegram, lost 4 units, one serving the Como and Computer banks, but they managing with what they do have in operation for now. Everyday will be “casual day” for a while.

I’ve been hearing about copper thieves getting on top of building more this year then ever. They are getting awfully brave or just getting hungry.

$78,000 worthy of damage for maybe 600.00 worth of copper. Not even considering what damage might have occurred to a one year old $246,000 roof deck.

These 350 pieces of legislation stalled in the Senate are not helping the American people one bit!

I’ve been reading that GOP favoring, ~ at an all time low of 24% by a Wall Street poll. I find that noteworthy, in that 28% of the GOP support has always been solid as a rock, something you could take to the bank. That’s 4% points! That’s a lot! 4 points is the difference between winning and losing.

On a different note; Seems the mean ole democrats as cashing in on the brain dead ! Why let the GOP have all the fun?

    >>”In New Jersey, a “Tea Party” candidate surfaces but local activists haven’t heard of him. In Michigan, a Democratic operative appears closely tied to a slate of candidates running under the Tea Party banner. In Florida, conservative activists are locked in court over the right to use the Tea Party name.”<<

    Makes one wonder ~ Why?

  • Steve

So Bob, go ahead and say it!! It’s all Bushes fault.. right?? You’re wanting to blame Bush for the thieves stealing the copper evaporators out of your air conditioners…..Right?? Why not blame him… It’s not like we haven’t heard it before…. You might be able to swing it….. I seems logical….Bush MUST be responsible for this.. See bob, you already have me convinced.. You libbies blame Bush for everything from the Lincoln assasination right on up to everything that happened yesterday, so go ahead..I think you might be able to make it work lol

  • Bob Wire

Hmm? ~ Well Steve, ~ I never thought of it that way but you are right!

Not so much Bush ~ but his administration. It’s be a while before that “hicky” disappears from all the blood sucking that went on for 8 years.

Once you lose a dollar, ~ it’s lost ! unless you can see it as an investment that offers future returns.

So what have we to show as an investment that would appear on the positive side of the ledger for our country?

R&D development in military concerns ~ Big Plus there! You never know when that special toy will be required.

Hmm? ~????? I can’t think of anymore at the moment.

So you like to think we were somehow air dropped in and that’s where we find ourselves today? ~

That we didn’t get here by a land route that took 22 years of GOP leadership to arrive?

    The negatives?

    Too many to list.

But Lincoln? No,no no. That was a Confederate states sympathizer, old friend of the family.

  • Steve

See there Bob, I knew you could work it out.

BTW, I’m pretty sure it was Bushes ancestors that were in on the Lincoln hit. Vladimir Putin told me & I also read it on the daily kos.
