Source Notes Obama Planning Trip To Korean DMZ

U.S. President Barack Obama is likely to visit the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that divides North and South Korea later this month, said the Yonhap News Agency, citing a diplomatic source in Seoul.

NewsCore reported that the President will visit South Korea for the Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul, and is expected to tour the DMZ prior to leaving. This would mark the first visit to the infamous region by Obama.

According to the news outlet, Obama’s expected trip to the DMZ comes just weeks after the U.S. and North Korea both announced that the Asian country had “agreed to implement a moratorium on long-range missile launches, nuclear tests and nuclear activities at [the North's major nuclear facility] Yongbyon, including uranium enrichment activities.”

NewsCore reported that the North Korean government also agreed to inspections by members of the International Atomic Energy Agency to verify and monitor the moratorium on uranium enrichment activities.

The Agence France-Presse reported that the White House proposed the DMZ visit to showcase the strength of the U.S.-South Korean alliance and to address a message to the regime of North Korea.

If ever there was a president qualified to visit such a divide between people it would be obama. He has orchestrated a similar divide in this country between the socialist free-loaders and the working, tax paying patriots, christians and lovers of freedom.

    • sook young

I hope he does not stay long as he does not care about the Korean people. My family in Korea say that they would welcome back President Bush. Thank you.

As sad a statement as this is Sook Young, anybody with any commonsense would want the same thing!

      • eddie47d

Every President visits our allies and it should be encouraged so this is a non issue in an attempt to turn something good into something bad.

Sorry Eddie, but President Bush was a lot tougher against the North Koreans that President Obama. When we had a naval vessel sunk and had missiles falling on our citizens, President Obama only sent an aircraft carrier, whereas President Bush would have sent additional troops to our country. Plus, President Bush took no excuses from Kim Jung Il, so why does President Obama continue to do so? They sent Hillary Clinton andf others over to Pyongyang to have talks, but they do not understand the Far East area of the world and do not posses the experience to handle such matters dealing with the land of my birth. Sorry Eddie, but even the new political party (세누 리당 a new conservative party) thinks Lee Myong Bak is going the wrong way and also supports President Obama. Maybe this can be done in America as well. A new and realistic conservative party. Thank you.

Bush “would have”? That is not saying much and direct talks accomplish more.

      • http://naver sook young

Obama will not be talking directly to the North Koreans as he’ll send a representative to do the talking. Thank you.

“He has orchestrated a similar divide in this country between the socialist free-loaders and the working, tax paying patriots, christians and lovers of freedom.”

HE did that? ~ or did their reaction to him do that? This ability to deffer guilt and blame runs deep with self proclaimed Conservative.

Allow me to suggest, these divisions were always there and each player only needed what they seen as a good reason to act them out.

There was no class war, until someone “elected” to respond to the assault, only then did it gain the title of war.

Christians have always seen some need to defend God. The more Christians attack, the more their attack is answered. Yet why God “requires” their help, has never been fully explained.

Economic down turns effect most Americans, it affects those of us who have less the most. That you would begrudge any help directed their way is understandable. But that practice didn’t start with Obama and it won’t end with Obama.

        BS!

  • castaway

Hopefully this (Offensive word removed) will not return, do to an aircraft accident, or being shot by a sniper. You need to wonder what kind of damage, and appologies he will have for the new leader. How can this fool still be in the White House, and How did he ever get their in the first place. He is proven illegal, and has very little history, yet he can be president. What a scam of scams. The only conclusion one can come up with, is that the majority of our government is involved in the Obama cover up, scam, whatever you wish to call it.

I feel that congress is a partner with obozo in what he is doing, they may have been intimadated in some fashon or they are acting by choice, but they are helping this undocumented person to destroy America.

Congress should have vetted him the first week after he was elected to deturmine if he is qualified under the Constitution, they failed and now three years later think that a threat of impeachment if he orders troops to war, he will obey Congress? To late, he has “his people” in places
in government to where he can shut down government and all private business…….There is a war coming, but it woun’t be outside the shores of America. What Americans need to hope for is the military will stand by their oath to protect & defend the U.S. Constitution.

Pray for the Oath Keepers & hope for the Lone Wolf.

  • castaway

Please give me my freedom of speech rights, whether or not it is offensive to someone. I still have the right to speak freely. This has gone way too far.

    • Deerinwater

please don’t confuse a “freedom” as somehow being “free”

You can say what ever you want to say, but be willing to put on your big boy britches and pay for it.

      Is that too”complicated”?

  • john

Why now? Oh yes, the Korean vote…

    • Frank Delarcey

It’s all about gettin’ the vote…What you don’t realize is that he’s spendin’ $180,000 an hr to run them planes…She’s doin’ the same thing by gettin’ on late night shows and skiin’ in CO…Why do we have to pay for that…The star studded parties are out of control…You would think responsible people, especially people leading this nation, would come out and say, “We are curbing our travels and entertainment and using the money that would’ve been spent to go to the homeless and children that don’t have food to eat.” THAT get’s ya votes !!! Not flyin’ to S. Korea for some crap trip !!!! Note the person from S Korea sayin that they don’t want odumbo to come !!!! Is that a message or is that a message !!!!

      • scout

The white house SHOULD be on a budget. EVERYONE should have to answer to someone.

    • http://www.mototcarsfinancial.com Brad

Korean Vote, point taken and one that make much sence.

  • David in MA

My first thought was obozo is going to defect,
then I wondered if the Lone Wolf might be a N. Korean Soldier…..

  • doctordoctor

Maybe we’ll get lucky and a N. Korean sniper will solve a lot of problems. Biden is so damn dumb, he is no threat to anything except his own trivial manhood.

    • eddie47d

The devious conservative doctor is in checking himself for a pulse.

    • Ted Crawford

As strongly as i believe that Obama is the poorest example of a leader as History has ever provided, I wish him NO physical harm! That would be the absolute worse case for our country!

      • Deerinwater

i’m so glad , your mouth is the only responsibility your have too run.

  • Rocky Night

Relax people it is probably just another vacation.

As unemployment, gas prices sky rocketing, and the collapse of the fiat dollar Obama is asserting his power over the world.

We really need Ron Paul for 2012.

    • scout

I agree but the people are too blind. They’d rather be lead around by the press. Unable to think for themselves and too blind to see what is happening to US and the constitution. Vote Ron Paul

  • Sirian

His excursion to South Korea is in actuality nothing more than a “head of state” making an appearance. They managed an agreement (really?) out of the new 28 year old four star general that will be stood by for eons to come. Sure. . . Will it possibly pull extra votes? Please! If you believe that you’re groping in the ether, for sure. Kindly put, very doubtful. Yes, more than likely this will result in nothing more than a “head of state” vacation – enjoy paying for it folks.

  • teaparty13

Maybe Hyundai is making a “green” car & he wants to try it out along the DMZ

    • David in MA

A cover of green grass would be better.

  • James

To test the peaceful resolve of North Korea, President Obama should cruise around over N. Korea, at least, until Air Force One runs out of fuel.

  • Marlene

jHe’s probably looking to find something to use in his campaign speeches. As in, “Chelsea and I had to duck and run to the hangar, under a hailstorm of gunfire!” These Socialists sure give some good belly-laughs when they have to admit they’ve mis-spoke. It’s a pretty costly joke on taxpayers, though.

  • chuckb

moochella may want to check out the n. korean diet. or could it be she’s checking on the school lunch served there.i would suspect she’s looking for a new place to shop.

    • http://naver sook young

She has more food on her dinner plate than the average North Korean family has in a week or two. Thank you.

Sook Young, Just a question, What would be your thoughts on a United Korea.
Also i agree about the cost it costs us Taxpayers for his Trip, If he was any Kind of GOOD Man he would not need so much Security, And they keep adding More and More, And believe me there is SS men falling over ea other. Seems like ea New President we get requires More.??
Also i agree with Sooki Young, More on there Plates than an ave Korean eats in a week, Also there is Plenty of People in this Country and Others that have little or nothing.also, BUT you can bet your last Buck the Leaders and the Elites of these Countries do not have this Problem.

    • http://naver sook young

A united and strong Korea would be great. But, of course, these things take time. Korea, like America, would need different leadership than what is currently in place. Thank you.

The only reason Korea divided was because of a deal President FDR made with Stalin. FDR agreed that the commies could have north Korea down to the 38th parallel. The only reason the U.S. later went there was because North Korea invaded the south. When our troops pushed the northerners back across the 38th parallel, in 1951, they dug in and held that position, when we could have easily freed the north from communism. We did that because of the deal FDR made with the commies.

    • James

Let’s remember the Soviet Union was our ally in WW II. We were fighting to save the Soviets from certain destruction by Germany. The United States has never atacked a communist nation, like Cuba. Think about it.
