Sorry State Of The Union

Sorry State Of The Union

My fellow Americans:

What an honor to be standing above you this evening. I mean for you, of course. Tonight, you mark the third anniversary of my ascent. With your continued obedience, it will not be my last. In fact, if all my plans for you come to fruition, I figure I’ve got at least 30 more of these to go.

I would like to first acknowledge some noteworthies. Seated behind me is the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden. Hey, Joe. Joe. Joe. Joe, put down the sippy cup! Did you remember to go before we started?

Seated next to Vice President Biden is Speaker of the House John “The Man with the Tan” Boehner. Eventually, I’ll be able to book you a spot where you will really sport a savage tan. The Guantanamo Bay Spa? Bring your sand wedge, buddy.

And where’s my Michelle? Heck, you can’t miss her. Get moving, right to the Taco Bell! What? I figure since we already use two of everything else: limos, Air Force jets and vacations, we might as well use both bedrooms, right? That’s a nice dress, honey. Which one of your taxpayer-funded, take-along-a-few-dozen-of-your-best-friends-and-live-it-up-like-Oprah trips did you pick that one up on? Are those diamonds? Isn’t being rich awesome?

Where’s my other girl? Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi! Hey, Nancy, why so surprised? Oh, um, right. Awkward. But seriously, what a job she did laying the groundwork for my invasi — er — election! How many people watching this even remember that the House approval ratings under Nancy’s Speakership were as crappy as they are now? Oh, right. We suppressed that, didn’t we? Nancy, of all the duplicitous, multimillionaire hypocrites at the top of the liberal food chain, you’re definitely one.

And there’s Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Harry, you can put Nancy’s purse down when you’re in chambers, pal. How long has it been since you and your fellow Senate Democrats have even offered a budget? I think I was still helping ACORN fill out absentee ballots the last time.

Down to my left, the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Guys, I know I ran on an anti-war platform, but no one told me blowing stuff up is so awesome! Did you see that resurgence of Gadhafi loyalists in Libya? Come by the Situation Room tomorrow. We’re going to continue the war we were never fighting to begin with over there. Grab some of the boys I deployed to Uganda without telling anyone. And we need to go over our plan for the invasion of Iran, toward which we are totally not ramping.

Down in front: the Supreme Court of the United States, the last line of defense of the Constitution — whatever the hell that is. Keep whispering, Justices Thomas and Alito. Attorney General Eric Holder needs to see you after the speech tonight, boys.

And where’s Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor? Hey, Mitch: I’ve decided to declare you in session. Now, you’re not. Now, you are. Now, you’re not. Ha-ha-ha! Don’t you glare at me. Ask Senator Rand Paul what happens to prominent opposition politicians who hassle me. Dr. Jellyfinger to the House Chamber, stat!

Up in the gallery: the corporate media. Without your willing complicity, this would be a whole lot more difficult. “Any criticism of Obama is code for racism.” That’s brilliant. And you conservative commentators? Four words: National Defense Authorization Act. Four more: indefinite detention without trial. You feeling me?

As for the State of the Union: I have moved us from two shooting wars to 2½. If the timing works, Iran will be next. The economy is in the toilet, and I intend to close the lid and nail it shut. We’re going to beg, borrow and steal whatever we need to push pet projects like Solyndra and cover cronies like Jeff Immelt when he sends jobs overseas. More Americans than ever are on government assistance; and if I have anything to do with it, we’re going to make that a clean 100 percent. Meanwhile, most of my “achievements” have forced us to run up debt like a second wife on Rodeo Drive. Don’t worry, though. We’ll bill your grandchildren.

To liberals watching me tonight: Keep it up, and we’ll put you on the top of the approval list for one of GM’s combustible golf carts. To the non-liberals: Pay no attention to the Homeland Security strike team outside your front door.

Good night and Alla — er — God bless me!

Another lame attempt by Mr. Ben “Hambone” Crystal to incite his followers. Well, I guess it’s not lame for them. How much more fun it is to tear something down than to buld it up. Just more fodder for the herd to chew on.

    • Capitalist at Birth

You need to find a sense of humor.

      • http://att.net Alice

        • I don’t know about that but Obama is just another taxing and spending progressive liberal who is dedicated to making this country a soviet style socialist dictatorship. Currently in the realm there is a lot of violence, political maneuvering, and corruption. With all his spending and giving money to other nations and restrictive regulations, I am of the opinion that Obama is deliberately trying to destroy our economic and national security. Fascinating how many people choose to ignore History and fall for the cycle of “unreasonable” anyone who believes that the current administration will not twist the law to suit its purposes is in la-la land. Except that it happened.

        • Deerinwater

          ” taxing and spending ”

I don’t believe that I’ve ever heard of “tax and save”

You are not suggesting republicans are not responsible for rising taxes are you? That it’s just somehow democrats that are responsible?

          • Pepper

Both parties are responsible and yes they have the TAX AND SAVE program in place, Tax “the citizens” and Save “our own a$$s exemption” Plan.
I heard it’s working beautifully for 90% of the Washington elect.

        • Robert

Alice, I think I love you!! At last I feel we the people are finally “Getting It” This is exactly what is going on. Don’t forget he asked congress to pass a law making him a dictator. He was even good enough to aire it Tuesday night on EVERY channel. Wow, and nobody caught that. He wants congress to “Give the executive branch more power to condense the bureuacracy into one agency in the White House, in an effort to be more effecient.” Can you say Dictator? What about the Constittion forbidding this? Oh wait, we don’t need THAT old rag anymore!! We need to anylize every word that comes out of his mouth. He is pretty good at telling us what his intentions are. We are not very good at LISTENING TO HIM!

          • Sirian

Outstanding Robert, you’re the first one I’ve seen/read that has brought that point up. Dad blast it, you beat me to it. . . :) But standby, the usual robots (you know who I’m referring to) won’t catch it at all or they will think that that is exactly what needs to be done. Num, Num, Num, Good little robots.

          • Flashy

All anyone can do is shake their head in utter disbelief. let’s see…you rant and rave about government being too big. Obama asks Congress for authority to merge and diminish agencies in an effort to shrink government…and now y’all are stating it’s unconstitutional ?????

            Wow …

Now…since the Constitution doesn’t say anything about a President having a Cabinet…even George Washington didn’t realize what the “founders’ meant when drafting that document. So i guess you could say every action since Washington is unconstitutional.

          • Tomato Cain

I don’t know, Flashy. I wouldn’t give this President any more power to do any more damage—Dodd-Frank, Solyndra, $4T deficit in less than three years. I hope you would forgive me for not trusting him with anything after his first two weeks in office.

        • cincerely

Been watching FOX and listening to Limbaugh have you?

          • USAF VET

Don’t have to just listen to Fox, or Rush to find these things out. Open your eyes, and ears. Prices have gone sky high, Obama has been issuing Presidential edicts since he got in there and going around Congress on most of them. There’s more information out there about Obumski than you could ever glean off of just Fox News.

        • Mills

Well all must stand up & fight for what you believe in or fall for anything.. they must not complain if they don’t do a thing..

      • eddie47d

Sorry to disappoint you Alice but the economy is improving. Unemployment is 7.9% in Colorado and the President has strong approval with his foreign policies. Still much work to do but the way the Republicans are bungling things (in Congress and as candidates) I’m surprised they can tie their shoes. Now I’m with you in his spending way too much in foreign nation building and I’m afraid that is going to get worse.

        • firefight

Hey eddie, What kind of glasses are those you’re wearing? 7.9% unemployment in Colorado? NOT so. More like 12.8%. The stats you are getting does not reflect all those who are out of work and refuse to go on welfare or unemployment. There are a few who still have their pride and flatly refuse to take any kind of subsidy/handouts from the government. That is below them. Perhaps something most Liberal progressives don’t quite comprehend.

          • Brian

You go! Eddie47d is what most of this nation is – ‘liberals’ who think somehow that what the government says is true and that you can be given things(borrowing) on your way to extravagance and riches…

          • Flashy

One issue y’all like to gloss over when citing an “unofficial off the books’ number.

Ummm..where are those not on the books unemployed getting any money to spend?

With an economy heading into a recession, those “ghost” unemployed are understated. When the economy is coming out of a recession and theere is job growth, the “ghost’ unemployed numbers are overstated.

Someone may not have garnered an “on the books’ job, or they may have given up with finding an employer and become independent, such as a consultant or contractor etc..and they won’t be “official’ off the books and into the employed catagory until April, whenh they file their taxes and show income as self employed.

          • Old Henry

“With an economy heading into a recession”

Heading Flashy?? Whoa! You need to get out more often.

          • eddie47d

Yup Firefight 7.9% not your 12.8% and my wife is recently unemployed so I do read what is going on.

          • Flashy

Hank…the past six months i believe evry economic indicator has been postive. Including Jobs. The one area which needs adjustment is wage earnings. The Middle Class is in need of disposable income.

          • Dennis48e

“the past six months i believe evry economic indicator has been postive.”

What is your source for this statement flashy?

          • Flashy

            Bloomberg.com

          • dfinch

I believe it’s 7.9% before the seasonal adjustments. This 7.9% is as of Dec. 2011. These adjustments will show as of Jan. 31, 2012.

        • JUKEBOX

Eddie, if you are following any of the other news, Obama seems to be LEADING the country in the direction of a “REAL” black man, Terrell Owens who made over 80mil, and is dead broke today. When you spend over 100% of your income, you cannot avoid going broke. That is simple economics, which Obama has no concept of. Saul Alinsky never wrote about that.

          • Flashy

TO is an idiot. You could also have used johnny unitas or Rollie Fingers instead of TO. So..Obama is a real “white man” ?

          • Greg

Great analysis, I just don’t think “Real Black Man” has anything to do with it, since our government is predominately WHITE!!! Anyway, I just finished re-reading the “Millionaire Next Door” and those who spend 100% or more of their income are basically those in the entertainment industry. The I.R.S. loves these people because they flaunt their wealth.

          • JUKEBOX

Flashy & Greg, Obama is as white as he is black, but he follows the “RACIST” ploy of many others, and plays the “BLACK” card when it is convenient.

          • bob

Obammy is not ‘black’. He is Indonisian and white, His Father was a Rockefeller. There are no Africans with his blue lips and other features.

      • Deerinwater

        Hahah! heheheh! Bring the clowns☺

I was wondering who would be chosen to cover the State of the Union address. Heaven forbid it be done seriously!

“Close your eyes Ethyl! Don’t look! Too late, mooned her in the pole beans.”

How about that Seal team rescue? Pushed their ticket and move out with “package” secured. The maggots can run but they can’t hide forever. Pay up now or pay up later but you will pay. That’s the message being sent out and bout damn time. here’s your state of the Union. You are dead.

This must be repulsive behavior to some of you that just hate this administration and everything that it works to do?

I think that you need to accept that what you are wanting and the changes that you are wanting to implement will take time, many years, more then a single administration. And too, the merits of this change will effect the speed of any transition.

You need to be realistic in regards to speed government can effect change without infliction insult to injury, displacing a lot of people and creating more problems then you are attempting to solve.

A Sea Captain responsibility, listed in order of importance; ship, crew and cargo. Without a ship, there is no crew and cargo.

Leaving point A, with ship, crew and cargo and arriving at point B with Ship, crew and cargo all intact. That’s the job.

But we do encounter problems and loss things, we damage things. We bend a wheel and have picked up a vibration at 900 rpms or better on the port main and it has slowed our voyage. A flue is running through the crew and we got 4 men in the rack and running short handed. Cargo on the deck has worked itself loose after 24 hours of slapping side seas that rattled the whole ship sending vibrations from stem to stern.

Nobody wants to hear about such things, all these reason why you were late. Oh! they will listen, but it’s not what they want to hear. They want to hear good and happy things and how wonderful your voyage was, and so it with the state of the union.

The President told us of all the happy things.

        • JUKEBOX

Duplicity and mendacity is the same in any language, no matter how many pretty words you use, and how well you read them. I think George Lucas must have been tutoring Obama on how to do more than just “READ” the script.

        • http://gmail.com sancheleezy

Uncomplicate everything. Get back to basics. Realize the truth about just why Keynesian crony economics will never work and is totally unsustainable. The government with taxpayer funding and Federal Reserve (digitally printed) fiat money will eventually collapse. Winston Churchill said it correctly years ago, “Socialism is comparable to someone standing inside of a bucket, and attempting to lift himself”. And once we are all working for the government, and the private sector disappears, there will be no wealth and the whole system collapses. Congressman Dr. Ron Paul is correct that we need to have a sound monetary system. Vote Ron Paul in 2012 !!!

          • Joanne

Ron Paul will help the economy but what good is a healthy economy if we have no way to protect ourselves from the ones who would like to see us dead .. Paul is to weak on protecting our shores ..

          • ohoh

Apparently, you continue to ignore what Paul has repeatedly said about national defense in contrast to military spending and the fact Paul’s support from the military, those patriotic Americans who are engaged and putting it on the line, is approximately three time the amount of ALL the other GOP candidates combined.

      • FireMall

        @ Capitalist at Birth:

Obama lover’s sense of humor only comes to the surface when they catch, entrap & or spin what a Patriot does which acn be used fits into the Agenda.

It’s always difficult to decipherer whether a Socialist is laughing at others or laughing Against them or just giggling at themselves when they somehow think they won the arguement. .

    • Houdini1984

Settle down, Karolyn. It’s called humor, and is one of those wonderful forms of communication which are still protected under the Constitution.

Better yet, humor of this sort harms no one – unlike the policies of the current Failure-in-Chief. Try chuckling for a change. It might help you to get that angry liberal grimace off your face.

      • Karolyn

I have a great sense of humor when something’s funny and always have a smile on my face. You can ask anyone who knows me.

        • Old Henry

          Maybe it’s just gas.

          • steve in AZ

LOL! You hit it again, Henry. :)

Karolyn~I bet you laugh your cranky butt off if the criticism falls on the other side! You aren’t fooling anyone,,grow up.

          • Deerinwater

No she wouldn’t, that’s not Karolyn. evidently , you don’t know her.

          • Karolyn

You are new here, anastasia, or have not read many of my posts. Otherwise you would know what you posted is untrue.

        • Tomato Cain

Let me guess, Karolyn…John Stewart: funny; Dennis Miller: not funny?

In case you wondered, no I don’t see anything less mockable about THIS U.S. President than any other. Face it, political humor is not meant to flatter anyone.

          • Karolyn

Crystal’s humor is too slapstick for me. He’s just too blatant. Of course, John Belushi was slapstick, but he knew what he was doing. Now, if you’re a 3 Stooges fan, then Crystal’s your man. I prefer a more subtle type of satire. To me he is just not funny, although I may have chuckled at a couple of his lines over the past year+ I’ve been reading/watching here.

          • Karolyn

I find Miller to be too mean-spirited. In that way, he is like Ben Crystal.

          • Tomato Cain

Thicker skin, Karolyn, thicker skin. I agree that some stuff is just nasty and not funny, but for all my dislikes of this President’s policies and his sensitivity to criticism, he does has a sense of humour at times.

        • firefight

So, tongue in cheek and you bit which one?

        • JUKEBOX

You must love Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert.

          • Karolyn

Jon Stewart is a bit more balanced and, yes, much funnier. He is much more adult than Crystal. There really is no comparison. If there were, Crystal would have his own show. Colbert has his moments.

          • http://deleted Claire

Karolyn–I like Jon Stewart. He gives comic skits about all politicians.

        • Marlene

Gosh, Karolyn, I tried to ask anyone who knows you but, sadly, no one will admit to it.

          • http://deleted Claire

I will not pick on Karolyn. She has the right to post what she wants to post, just like everyone else on this site. We all think and absorb things differently. Just imagine this–it would be boring as hell if we didn’t have differences.

    • Flashy

Karolyn…lame would be an apt description. Even as a satiric piece, it’s not well written. The TPers and the far right are avoiding the facts of what Obama tossed out there for Congress to work on. Specific bills, specific policies, all ommon sense which no one would be able to argue unless they were anti American and anti middle class.

Obama gave no call for massive bills. Reality is, the GOP wouldn’t pass them without pork barrel legislation added on giving even more the the wealthy and corporate elite. Obama called for specific bills. Easy to understand and inarguable as to need. Single issue.

And he gave the clear message…if Congress won’t act as adults, there were areas where Obama would act on his own as allowed by the power of the Executive branch.

What is interesting is the message. Whereas when Obama and Clinton went head to head the last election, neither strayed much into negative personal attacks (given the circumstances). They kept a positive message in both camps.

Obama gave a postive message. Looking to the future. The American Way….roll up the sleeves and get the job done.

Contrast that with the GOP comedy tour currently going on. Negative throughout. No solutions…no positive note, negative criticism of each other and the state of the country.

And look who the GOP has selected as their choices! A rich guy who changes opinions and stances more often than people change underwear; a junk yard dog who can’t tell the truth and has had more wives and affairs than there are states in the union; a religous zealot representing the American Taliban; and a raving lunatic.

The VP selection for the GOP candidate will be the only factor which may keep the General election interesting. Obama by a landslide.

And thus, Ben has nothing left but to write a lame satirical piece…not well written at that.

      • Old Henry

Nothing more than a campaign speech. If any of it was serious he would have gotten it ALL done in 2009 when he had COMPLETE control of the trolls, er ah, Congress along with a bunch of RINOs.

      • Stephen

Flashy Dude, you need a copy of the Constitution (as does King Obamir). I guess it’s alright for the King to put his hand on a Bible (Koran) and swear to uphold the Constitution and lie. He uses vague unconstitutional rulings as a crutch. The Country will be better-off without him and his kind in office. He’s no leader.

        • Flashy

Stephen…obviously I disagree with your view. But the important thing is…I’m right, you’re wrong.

          • steve in AZ

No, flushy. As usual, you’re left AND wrong. haha

          • anasatasia beaverhouser

            lights OUT for Flashy!

          • Stephen

Flashy, mix something with that kool-aid, you’ll feel better.

          • Flashy

Stephen…you stated something abou the Constitution. i’ll give you th recent Recess appointments as pushing the envelope and it will be of interest to see if the Courts hold a sham session of Congress suffices to thwart the President’s privilege of having his own counselors at hand.

What other areas are you stating he crossed the line drawn by the Constitution? Not what YOU say the Constitution states…but as interpreted by the Court, the branch assigned to interpret the Constitution.

Y’all like to toss these phrases out without regard to substance so naturally it’s viewed by any sane person with a large degree of scepticism. Same when someone uses the phrase “the Founders”. There were so many involved and so many diverse opinions, use of that term stretches any believability to user knows anything other than what they are programmed …

          • JUKEBOX

Flashy is a typical brainwashed, hypnotized, liberal Democrat.

          • Flashy

Well Juke…I don’t see you citing any “unconstitutional acts’ by this president. Areas such as the Health Care Reform were passed by Congress. Pres. Obama signed the legislation, he did not create it.

But for giggles…what “unconstitutional acts” would he be accused of? Libya? Give me a break. Even that line was given two days at the most by the Congressional GOP. And if push came to shove, even you would have to give grudging approval to taking out ol’ Muammar and his terrorist bandits.

            What else?

Taking out an American born al Qaeda executive sitting in Yemen plotting to kill a few of us here at home via a terrorist act? You would complain about that? You think he should have let the guy skate and wait until he completed and set in motion plans to attack us and kill a few of us?

What else? As much as i try, I can’t come up with much more…you?

        • eddie47d

Actually the State of the Union speech was very positive and upbeat. At least a 360 degree difference than from all the sour pusses on this site. Hopefully a few concerned Republicans in Congress were listening and will finally help out and do something. The sad part is that those same Republicans won’t get on Ron Paul’s bandwagon and seem to be drifting back towards the Bush crises policies.

          • firefight

Way to go eddie. Now you’ve proven that you don’t understand a compass. Let’s see if we can help you. If you are heading North and you turn to the right 360 degrees, you will be on your original course and still heading North. If you are heading North and you turn to the left 360 degrees you will be on your original course and still heading North. Got that? Now, if you are heading North and turn either to the left or right 180 degrees, you will now be heading South and in the opposite direction of your original course. I sincerely hope this little lesson has helped you in at least ONE of your directions of travel. As for your “left” leaning tendencies, you might want to consult a physician but really, I don’t see much hope for you.

            .
I’d have more respect for Obama’s position if he just came on and told the Facts and left the Zig Zeiggler BS on the desk at home.

Were you expecting Obama to tell “Us”, “The Useful Idiots ” that “We are in deep trouble ?

Obama didn’t actually ever “Say” anything about what the State of the Union is, now did he ??
He did reference what His state of UmWah was at every turn though.

I missed, actually didn’t bother to liste, to Obumski this year. I found out later that I didn’t miss a thing because all it was, was a rerun of 2009, 2010, and 2011. That plus a campaign speech which I don’t care to hear because I know he’s lying before he even opens his mouth. As far as his doing unconstitutional things, let’s start with him not being a natual born citizen, his use of someone elses SS number, Obamacare, the recess appointments which were made while Congress was legally in session, being implicit with Holder in Fast and Furious. I could go on but there is no reason to do so. So Flushy, don’t say he hasn’t done anything unconstitutional.

The GOP changes its opinions like they change their underwear. That’s a good one, now I understand why they need so much T.P.
In 1972, I spent a couple hours conversing with Gus Hall (yeah, that Gus Hall). He told me that the Republican party was divided and at each others’ throats. I thought he was full of it at the time, but nevertheless paid strict attention to the GOP ever since. Gus Hall was right, as anyone who is paying the slightest attention to their several campaigns can witness.
So, their problem is: who to throw under the bus. Neither of the frontrunners is a real conservative, Newt seems to have a “humiliate me” sign pasted to his back. So let’s throw in the towel with Newtie.

        • Sirian

For those that are unaware of who Gus Hall was:
Gus Hall, born Arvo Kustaa Halberg (October 8, 1910 – October 13, 2000), was a leader and Chairman of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) and its four-time U.S. presidential candidate. As a labor leader, Hall was closely associated with the so-called “Little Steel” Strike of 1937, an effort to unionize the nation’s smaller, regional steel manufacturers. During the Second Red Scare, Hall was indicted under the Smith Act and was sentenced to eight years in prison. After his release, Hall led the CPUSA for over 40 years, often taking an orthodox Marxist-Leninist stance.

Cool, you forgot about the Mesabi Iron Range in Minnesota? A minus.

      • Jack Knoblock

Flashy, I wouldn’t count your chickens before they hatch. There is a political tsunami coming and Obama and his socialist agenda will be voted out by a landslide. You forget over 72% of Americans do not want Obamacare. This President has done more damage to our economy then he has repairs. You sit and regurgitate the lib media’s talking points just like the robots you liberals are. The Senate has several bills sitting in their chambers. Yet your buddy Harry Reid is electing to table them for obvious political reasons. Its time for all involved to quit acting like kids. Which is just what Obama acts like everytime he doesn’t get his way. To get on National TV and tell the Congress since they wouldn’t confirm his appointees he will do it his way. That is not governing. That is Dictatorialship. Obama will lose this election because he has awakened the silent majority and they won’t be silent this year.

        • Flashy

Sorry…but a quick check shows 49% oppose the Health Care Reform when asked the generic overall question. But braking down the components one by one, and the vast majority of Americans like the reform policies.

What damage to our economy has he done…in your view of course. mind you, he inherited 700,000 lost jobs a month situation, and has had a record of two years adding private sector jobs..this past month more than any month since 2005 (middle of the Wacked so-called “boom years”)

The Senate bills sent by the House….laden with legislation that a) has nothing to do with spending but is social surgery to impose the will of the American taliban etc; or b) guts the programs most needed by Middle America and the unemployed and poor. Notice the Senate GOP is making no move to get those very bills to the floor for debate…

Congress isn’t doing its job. It is broken. So Obama is supposed to not do his job because Congress can’t do its?

Actually, the House has passed over 700 bills…only to have Harry Reid NOT bring them up for a vote in the Senate. Wonder why that is? Maybe a lot of the liberals in the Senate also don’t like what’s going on?

          • Flashy

What were those ’700 bills’ containing? If it got past the radicalized TP contingent, makes one wonder.

      • Ted G

Its still the spending! What has he done to reign it in? Nothing. In fact he has made it worse! Yes congress is just as much to blame. So why should anyone vote any of them back in including this liar in chief!
The fed should not be able to take my money beyond what has been mandated by the U.S Constitution. Yes I said it Flash, The U.S Constitution!
We should all be having this conversation, what is the responsibility of the fed and what things is it prohibited from doing?
The Government is out of control and we have a socialist liar in the white house.

      • JUKEBOX

The “DO NOTHING CONGRESS” is headed up by Harry “UNDERTAKER” Reid, who wants to “BURY” every bill that is sent to him for an up or down vote in the Senate. He is doing nothing at the direction of Obama, so they can falsely accuse the Republicans of “STALLING”. What happened to the “SEPARATION” of the powers of the different branches of government?

      • Tomato Cain

WHAT!!!This President is no steward of the Constitution; he has been a follower of Salinsky for years. Do you think three ‘painful to hear’ SOTU addresses are going to win the hearts of anyone not already in the tank? He is NOT for smaller government; he never was and never will be.

‘Flash’ does make a valid point about partisanship. Like a Rorschach test, this SOTU was all things to his supporters. Whatever they wanted to see, they saw. But—EVERY supporter of this President with which I’ve spoken have no idea who George Soros is. They also have never heard of Frank Marshall Davis, George Riley or Andrew Stern. They think that the birther argument is more about the place of birth rather than the circumstances of his birth (B. Obama, Sr. was never a citizen of the USA in his entire life)They think that Obamacare will save us money; we’ll see, but if history is a good predictor, it will cost us nine times what the CBO estimated–Is this Presidential LACK of common sense, or a brilliant execution of the Cloward-Piven Strategy?

So, what did the SOTU 2012 look like to me? It looked like a man in desperation trying to please a large enough voter block to secure re-election.

      • http://gmail.com sancheleezy

Flashy you are nothing but a fool with rose colored glasses as you should tell the truth that the Congress has not passed a budget for over 1,000 days now and keeps voting to raise the National Debt ceiling, time and again. You are always so busy with long emails trying to explain why this Progressive fool in the White House needs more time to transform (destroy) this Nation in the process. Bottom line is it will not ever work. Give it up—-vote Ron Paul in 2012.

      • Flashy

Ummm Henry…can you fill me in on one important piece of legislation that this President has proposed that the GOP has not vehemently opposed?

he has gone so far as to propose policies which in the past wre called for by the GOP…and they went tooth and nail to defeat what they had previously been wholeheartedly calling for.

They even criticized his taking out bin Laden fer chrissakes.

        • Goatsnose

Flashy, bin Laden was not taken he was a thank you gift from the Muslim Brotherhood. Obama has done more for the Brotherhood in three years than bin Laden in his whole lifetime.

          • Flashy

LOL … now i haven’t heard that one before. So bin Laden was given to be snuffed as reward by radical Islamists to Pres. Obama.
Wow … ummm..ok, I am speechless. This is right up there with the accusations that Clinton fathered a child in coupling with an alien from outer space.

I know…more jobs created last month than since 2005. Turned the counry away from the abyss of a Depression, struggled to turn the economy around in the face of GOP opposition every step of the way. Saved American manufacturing jobs. Took out bin Laden and got us out of Iraq. Al Qaeda a weak shell with over 200 of it’s leaders snuffed. Decreased number employed by government. Record number of deportations of undocumented workers. Time and again tried to wok with the GOP in Congress…only to have them time and again renege on the deal.

        I know…he’s been so bad .

You don’t like it? Tough. Quit yer snivelling and go sit down, let the Americans who care about what this nation has always stood for roll up our sleeves and get the job done fixing what your kind broke.

          • Flashy

One other thing beck..the number employed by government has decreased almost month by month. That’s not exactly an ‘increase in government” is it?

        • Jack Knoblock

Flashy I thought you where smarter than that. You are using the month of December for your point that more jobs where created last month. Why of course more jobs are available its the holiday shopping season. I love how people and the Dept. Of Labor keep touting the hiring increase in Nov. And Dec. Now the new numbers are out. Unemployment claims rose this month! Now I wonder why that is. Oh for your information. Those are those temp. Holiday workers going back on the unemployment rolls. Even sadder when the Federal Goverment was one of the top employers hiring in 2011. So Flashy if your going to use a month for your claims. You may want to choose a different one other than Dec.

          • Flashy

How about..better than any December since 2005…your so=-called ‘boom years’

        • Stan

Flashy or you just an idiot or a terrorist like king Obama. All he has done is cause the value of the dollar to decline so significantly that the dollar is going to lose it’s status as the world currency. Once that happens and the US dollar is of no further value. You can stand in the bread line along with real Americans. Anyone who thinks this guy is for the country’s good is an idiot. His history has always been do nothing (I’m from Illinois) except yell and scream about the unfairness of this country and send money to his favorite biggot organization ACORN and of course he never heard his favorite preacher who was screaming F… white people at the top of his lungs for years, but he never heard that. He has a great answer to the resolution of the economy by sending oil to his master China, but that’s understandable since he didn’t have time to review the bill, it’s only been in the works for 3 years, but I guess he’s just a slow reader. And on and on and on, but you and other liberals just want a socialist state anyway, so I guess HE’ PERFECT. Give me a break, you IDIOT.

Flashy I don’t know who the hell you think you are telling people to quit sniveling and go sit down and let those who care about this country fix it. You keep placing blame on the Republicans and think your darling. Democrats had nothing to do with this mess. Let’s say all parties are at fault for this mess since one piece of major legislation caused this and was signed into law by President Clinton. If you want to place blame then man up and take responsibility for your Party’s mistakes. Its called the Bliley-Gramm-Leach Finance Reform Bill. In fact you cam ask any Professor of Economics and they will agree. Its what made this economic mess. The ones who caused it are leaving office with their bags of monies. If you really think this economy is ok. Your in for some big stuff this year.Hide and watch.

          • Flashy

Two items…I said “real Americans’ will roll up their sleeves and fix the mess the GOP got us into. Didn’t specify Dems or GOP or TP, just the snivelling complainers.

Bliley-Gramm_Leach. Now which party did those folks belong to? And, as i’ve stated many times, I agree that was to beginning. It allowed the GOP to shred any oversight of the actions of thier financial backers.

          • Opal the Gem

“………and fix the mess the GOP got us into. Didn’t specify Dems or GOP or TP,”

Flashy you need to go back to the rest home and take a long nap. first you blame the GOP and in the next sentence deny you blamed any particular group.

        • Tomato Cain

OK, OK Flashy, I agree with 15% of what President Obama has done. That’s throwing in following Bush’s timeline in Iraq and following advice from Bain about restructuring GM. You’ll never get me to agree with other stuff…Dividing the Country between 1% and 99%, taking over healthcare, more favors to labor unions, vetoing the Keystone pipeline, Solyndra and all the other crony-capitalist mis-picks, outspending Nancy Pelosi, not pushing Harry Reid for a balanced budget (maybe this year will be different?), growing the size of government… I still have more on my mind, but I’m done typing…

Saying Obama cheats on his tax returns when the GOP has Mitt running for president. Hiding money to keep from paying taxes. He is no man we want in the White house. How about Newt, the only Speaker removed for ethics violations and fined with the approval of his own party. Oh yes, I want these guys in the white house. I can not believe that this is the best the GOP has to offer the people. Best thing Obama has going for him is the GOP candidates running for President. I know I would not have wanted to take on the mess that Bush Jr. made.

          • steve

Who cares how much Income tax someone paid or didn’t pay? Or where you made your money? What difference does it make to the government anyway? All they need is enough to provide services to the country that the states can not do for themselves, anything beyond that should be cut off.

The perversion that is the Federal Income tax code is a Joke 70,000 pages’ of pork barrel BS that got us where we are today, just about in the toilet. That is exactly what creates this social envy and BS that allows the tax system to be used against us in the first place. It also makes it possible for these lame brains to manipulate our country any way they want. Tax should be on the consumption of new products and services only. That way if you have a lot to spend you pay more taxes. Any one who doesn’t pay now will be paying when they buy something including all the Illegal’s working under the table. It really does level the field.

One or another candidate won’t fix this unless they support the Fair Tax Proposal.

If you have not read and understand the Fair Tax books you do not even qualify for being in a tax discussion. Please for our counties sake and your grand children. Go Get the Books and read them.

Yes I do Sir. Do you really think that anyone would jeopardize such a position by fudging on a tax return? That all the GOP would need to derail his administration and they would.

Crystal was doing his comedic interpretation of a deceiver-in-chief who talked a good game , but continues to create devisiveness and promotes his socialist agenda even more overtly. If the SOTU speech wasn’t so pathetic I would have to wonder where Crystal was coming from, but think about it, this President is reponsible for Obamacare that two thirds of the people did not want and will eventually bankrupt us if not repealed and a trillion dollar stimulus that failed miserably to create jobs in the private sector. He now wants to spend over one trillion dollars this year while he is cutting military defense in half and failed to say anything about how we are going to save social security and medicare which will go broke within a few years without majr reform. If you would get your head out of Obama’s posterior long enough to see the calamity of the situation, maybe you could better understand why a little humor by Crystal may keep some of us from having a nervous breakdown over this communistic discertation WE THE PEOPLE had to listen to. Did you hear anything about how we were actually going to create jobs except by spending more money to create bigger govt.? Your vote on 2 Nov 2012 will determine your kids future so please get engaged.

      • eddie47d

Way too funny Howe! Next time try for accuracy! 2/3rd’s don’t disapprove of the Affordable Health Care Plan(much closer to 1/2). The Stimulus was not a failure and most of the money was paid back. Although it didn’t create many jobs it did help hold the line and any economist will tell you that was a good thing. The military isn’t being cut by 1/2% as you stated and will actually be a better fighting force. Some Battalions will be cut and some will be moved into other Brigades. Your sloppy facts shouldn’t be a bragging point so please reconsider. Now how do you think China has such a booming economy. Trillions in government spending in creating jobs which are then run by private enterprise. Too much government can be bad but no government involvement can be just as tragic for the economy.

        • JUKEBOX

Eddie, Affordable Health Care Plan is an OXYMORON. My MEDICARE Advantage premium increased over 450%. Now you give me a viable explanation of how ANY reasonable person could consider that affordable.

          • Flashy

i thought the Republicans had fixed that in 2008 ? you’ll love the Ryan Plan then eh?

        • eddie47d

I didn’t expect you to calculate all the price increases brought to you by private insurance companies. Come back when you have the real facts.

        • Searcher

According to a December 2011 AP poll, support for the President’s healthcare law has dropped to 29%. There’s a fact for you eddie

          • Flashy

Eddie…earlier I referenced anyone looking at health care reform to go to Politifact and they’ll see the breakdown fr health care and just about every other subject. Taking the polls as an average, 9% of the public oppose health care reform, but over 60% (at times 70%) support it when the programs are seperated out.

In othr words, the public has no clue what the Health Care Reform entailed…the Big Lie is working.

          • Searcher

            Flashy-
You talk about health care reform. Very general term. Yes the vast majority of people are for some sort of health care reform.
The poll I cited asked specifically about the Obama health care plan, a specific plan, filled with a bunch crap that has nothing to do with health care, and there is only 29% support for it.

          • Flashy

So to fix it, your idea is to kill it? Good news doctor, the surgery was a success. Bad news is, the patient died.

What would you keep ? What would you toss out? (I know of your oppostion to the mandate for insurance). One question on that….would you be forced to change or adapt your current health insurance) I’d be interested if anyone here had to adapt or change their health plans under the Health Care Reform Act.

            Anyone?

How is the HRA going to impact anyone here?

I’d like to take a sounding here because it has no effect on my situation. Same plan. I’ll shop it though once the state sets up the insurance pool. Might get better pricing.

        • http://gmail.com sancheleezy

To Flashy, Carolyn, Eddie47, and all the other Obama kool aid drinkers who cannot see the forest for the trees, open your eyes and think—the more the government involves itself in anything, the more expensive it gets. Let free enterprise work, take money out of our over bloated bureaucracy and let the economy flourish. The government needs to only take care of our protection and other necessary details given in the Constitution, other than that they fail at everything they impose on the people. These little manipulated mini-factoids that you spout about everything getting better is nothing but horse manure masked to look good. Obama saved us from the Recession–what a joke.

    • Alarmed!

I’d think you’d at least consider some of the points he raised, even though the tone is snarky. Obama is virtually indistinguishable from Hugo Chavez, if you’d care to look he’s done a lot of the same things. He’s now routinely forcing his will on the public by “executive order” without regard to the special circumstances that the constitution calls for to use executive orders. He’s placed a wad of back room Chicago politicians in charge of everything from education to agriculture, and they are running things like Al Capone did in Chicago back in the day. I suppose what I find most alarming is, that you don’t even consider these worthy criticisms, much less are willing to look at the truth of them!

    • Ron S

I know, you are happy with obama.if he wins you wont have to get a job and you can keep your food stamps!Wow!,I bet you have your fingers crossed!

I really don’t like Obama, but every time I hear this sort of tripe it just makes believe all that much more that there is no way I will ever vote for a republican again.

If that is your goal Ben – mission accomplished!

      • Deerinwater

Well, you don’t have to like him , John. ~ He’s the best we got until something better comes along.

accept that, ~ I don’t like a lot of people I use and employ. I prefer not to actually. It makes my job easier.

    • CJM

Well, Karolyn, have you chosen your burkkah yet? Putrid pink might be your color. If you think obammy has built anything up…where (and what) is it? all he has done is trash the US Constitution, outlawed the Declaration of Independence, fattened his wallet by abusing the taxpayer, and on and on ad nauseum. The sooner that commie is out of DC, the better—perhaps you would like to join him. As for me, it there is a tar and feather campaign to ride him on a rail out of the USA, I’ll be glad to be there and participate. One thing I hate is for someone to crap on me—and he has done that to the entire citizenship of the USA.

      • http://deleted Claire

CJM–Regarding your last sentence, don’t forget to include the “other” party. As far as I am concerned, they have done the same damn thing.

Another article from Ben that show how stupdi and lame the Obama monkeys are! Your president sucks!!!!!

    • Tom W.

GIVE ‘EM HELL BEN!!! Get in the race Ben! You’d get my vote!!! My grandmother could beat Barack in the upcoming election, and the GOP has failed to produce a candidate who I feel is going to be able to do the job!!! I pray that I’m wrong! If Ron splits off and runs as an independent, that’ll seal the deal, four mo years of our beloved POTUS! Get yo pitchforks and torches READY!!! OMG (Obama must go!), OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG……….

    • John Patrick Henry

One can only pary that either Newt Gringich or Rick Santorum gets to Replublican nomination and defeats this man child of a president who has no respect for the law, who insults the american electorate by even the thought of wanting to serve another four years, when it seems he he had deterination any other job.

The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, the start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:

          At the time:

          1. The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

          2. The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

          3. The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

          4. George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

          • Searcher

Well stated Wade. What an inconvenient truth for some.

Yes, and under Obama signing the latest Defense Control Act has nearly completely dismantelled the U.S. Constitution which takes away the rights of the individual from the military being involved in arresting anyone “they” deem to be a threat to the country. It was bad enough with the the unconstitutional Patriot Acts 1 and 2, which allows them to not even need a judge to search and seize whatever they want in the name of security. Benjamin Franklin was correct, ” anyone who is willing to give up freedom for some security, deserves neither. Vote for a true Constitutionalist, Ron Paul in 2012!

  • Old Henry

    Ben!

I had no idea you had such access to Little Barry! Did you read that over his shoulder? I’m guessng Carl Rove made him scrap that version in favor of the campaign speach.

    LOL! Truth hurts, doesn’t it?

  • Radical Rabbi

I don’t care what anybody says, that’s funny! It is also sadly, pathetically true; Mad King Barry’s narcissism knows no bounds. He has ruined us as a nation, financially, he is amoral, and in his eyes, everything that has gone wrong is something else or somebody else’s fault. From George W. Bush to the tsunami in Japan; there is no personal responsibility with this clown.
Aside from the numerous vacations and a round of golf every twelve days (do the math, kiddies)and the destruction of our economy, what else has this Marxist fool done?
    Isn’t that enough?

Interesting article. The punchlines need some work. I guess the whole point was to say what an eloquent liar our current Campaigner-in-chief actually is. The King speaks with such passion and persuasion. Too bad everything he spews is nothing but fluff. His great talent is looking you straight in the eyes and telling you what you want to hear all while knowing it’s not what you’ll get. I guess he has a lot of people who like snake oil and drink kool-ade.

    • Old Henry

Hey Stephen, how about a nice free trip to a warm sunny place down, ah, south?… You can meet a lot of your friends.

This writing is exactly what I was hearing the other night.. Yet it did allow me to know what was said after I dozed off after the camera panned over Harry’s face as he was trying to hide the purse he was carrying.

Ben, you speak my language. Yet even Karolyn’s comment above about fodder is on many of our targets… so many of us do feel thats all we can offer at a time where thing must be torn down to make room for getting our leaders to uphold the oath they pledged to defend our Constitution of the United States.

Sir this is a great translation of this years State of the Union.

  • jim s

Ben Crystal states once again, the obvious: the Republican party has absolutely Nothing to offer We The People, unless you count Sour Grapes.
They need another guy like McCain to throw under the bus. Newt works for me. Save Mitt until they come to their conservative senses and get a few clues.
This will not happen in 2012. They could throw in the towel in Florida by having The Newtster win.
Ben Crystal, get a real job.

    • Old Henry

Ole Newtie is morally bankrupt, a liar, a globalist and an anti-Constitutionalist.

He is no conservative, not even close.

How many ethics charges did he have? 86?

With him in the WH we would once again have to have body guards for the female interns.

      • Michael

A little drop of fate caught Wild Bill in a lie and got him in trouble with Hill.

        • Michael

Lol,lol, a man or a woman under all that stress, would get a lot of relief with the right intern or secretary.

      • JUKEBOX

How many ethics charges were found to be “TRUE”? ANSWER: ZERO!

        • Flashy

Juke,,,he was decided “not guilty” …that doesn’t mean the charges were not true…it means what evidence they could use wasn’t enough to swing the political decisionmaking to the “guilty’ portion. Newt carried a lot of clout remember. It would have taken a lot to move that needle. That and dealmaking was going on hot and heavy as well.

          • Searcher

You seem to leave out the facts that there was an FBI investigation, which found nothing to prosecute, a seperate Department of Justice investigation that found nothing to prosecute, and a 3 year IRS investigation and audit that found nothing wrong.

          • Marlene

For the record, Flash, the $300,000 Newt paid was the portion he agreed to pay of the investigative costs, not a fine. You’ll find no fine, anywhere, was livied against him and the ethic charges were dropped, except by lying, moronic, toublemakers like you.

          • Flashy

You won’t find any comment by me that Newt was found guilty of ethics charges. You are correct he was never found guilty. Doesn’t mean he was or wasn’t…it means there wasn’t enough to charge him given the gravty of charging a sitting Leader of the House.

          • http://deleted Claire

I still want to see the Ethics Committee Report on Gingrich when he was ousted as Speaker.

          • Marlene

You’re still contending he was guilty. There is this report to dispute that and to show it’s just your biased opinion:

CNN and The Associated Press were among the media outlets that reported on the IRS finding. CNN produced a solid news segment that laid out the facts of the case—and the IRS exoneration of Gingrich. CNN’s reporter Brooks Jackson – now director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center’s influential FactCheck.org – made it clear that the IRS was adamant in its view that Gingrich had done nothing wrong.

CNN: IRS Exonerated Gingrich in 1999

Thanks but no thanks. I will find out for myself.

        • Old Henry

If I remember correctly he ended up with over $300K in fines levied against him. I think Bob Dole(?) loaned him the $.

          • CJM

You are partially correct, old henry. newt never did pay a fine, but bob dole loaned him the money to pay investigative fees. Sorry………but people think newt was found guilty and fined; he wans’t found guilty of anything. And I’m not even voting for him! (or that mitt guy).

        They all were dropped.

Newt is strictly “throw under the bus” material. The GOP CAN’T and won’t win in 2012. Gingrich is their McCain with half a brain. We’ll be seeing “Barry” until 2016.

        • Old Henry

Actually jim s if Little Barry Soetoro pulls it off in November that will be the end of the process and will anoint himself king / dictator. Hels Bells, he has already made Congress irrelevant.

Let’s see if we can figure this out. Many countries around the world have affordable labor and low tax rates. Obama pushes for more expensive labor through unions and higher tax rates for the job creators. I just wonder how this numb scull figures out ways to compete with the world. He has no clue!! Anyone associated with business and free enterprise can do the math. Guess this is why we know nothing about his education and grades.

      Blabber? where are your numbers?

Like over 8 years multi nationals sent 2,300,000 of our jobs to Just China.

Our local $10 per hour jobs for $.50 per hour.

Gold Toe Socks just sent 450 local good jobs to Mexico.

One worker went back home to central america. $400 per week in US and best job he could find was $40 per week. Story in USA Today.

We are enduring what happened to New England.Textle Industry moved South. Lower wages. No Unions to fight for labor against (some) robber barons.

We will survive but it will be difficult.
Town of 45,000. 9000 jobs gone over seas.

It is called the embedded Income tax, which unlike a consumption tax, taxes every level of product creation and thus makes us non competitive with the rest of the world.

Want to fix it? Want to create the largest boon to our economy ever seen? Support the Fair Tax Proposal and elect reps who will. Don’t believe me? Do some research on your own and read the Fair Tax books. It is the best independent research on the subject you will ever read.

        • CJM

The fair tax proposal is a SCAM. It makes any marketable good overpriced; and furthermore, many will pay DOUBLE the sales tax: (1) the 15% “Fair Tax” on the tally, and (2) the STATE Sales Tax. It’s unfair because low income people will have absolutely NO purchasing power and the money they spend won’t even buy enough groceries for a week. That so-called fair tax is an abomination and should be shot down, nailed in to a coffin, and buried in an active volcano. You want a really fair tax? Try a CAPPED 10% on income, regardless of source. Since the State also has to have its money, the a CAPPED 3% on income, regardless of source. Now that’s fair….and everyone, regardless of who is taxed, pays a fair share. No deductions, No perks, No anything other than the 10%. The government will have enough to operate on year in and year out.

Perhaps they did, but can you enlighten everyone how he was given Financial Aid to Foreign Students? The documents were on the internet and showed that he paid for his education in that manner. However, there is no proof that he used this money to attend school here…..there has been documentation that he attended a university in Moscow. With what you say and with what documentation has been made public this presents ample reason for the school documentation to be publicized. He certainly has a lot to hide doesn’t he.

      • eddie47d

Several American college students have their tuition and education paid for by others or through scholarships. Some Americans pay for people in other countries to get an education. Big Whoop and the future President was mostly an ordinary fellow back then like most students.

    • Deerinwater

LOl! yea, that one didn’t hit the funny bone did it.

Ben Crystal reminds me of a character we use to see on TV from time to time. “Dangerous Davy” was the name that he went by, He dressed much like Evil Knievel, Red, white and blue stretch tights with accompanying cape. Played the “straight man” role, always serious, much like Bob Newhart. It was mostly humor offered in the long, stretched out, buildup to these impossible stunts that no one could possible survive that he planned to do and would talk us through it. He was featured walk-on to someone’s nightly show. Was it Johnny Carson? Damn I miss Johnny. Anyway, the guy was not at all funny and that in it’s self was the humor. The guy was goose! and that was funny.

      • Searcher

According to IRS figures, the top 1% of income earners pay 36% of all income tax. The bottom 46% pay NO income tax and some of them even get a tax refund. How do you get a “refund” on something you never paid?. Now explain to me how that’s fair.

        • Flashy

Exactly Searcher. now if the wealth of this nation wasn’t as concentrated in the upper tiers to rank us #4 in income inequality (Mexico beats us fer chrissakes) … there would be more people paying taxes, AND more people having money to buy goods and …gasp … create jobs!

          • Searcher

As usual, you missed the point.
You didn’t explain how 1% of the people carrying 36% of the tax burden is fair. You didn’t explain how it’s fair to get a refund on taxes that were never paid.
How about letting the pipeline be built. That would create tens of thousands of jobs, require no “investment” by the government like the alternative green energy disasters this administration has thrown hundreds of millions of dollars away on, it would create increased revenue for the goevernment through the taxes on the wages earned by the workers on the project. However, according to the President, that would be a bad thing for our country.

        • eddie47d

Our top down system is rotted out and those who swim in wealth are like the Titanic. Full speed ahead in taking more and giving less and they have created failure to our economic system. They have slammed into too many icebergs in garnishing their riches and don’t care enough about those passengers (citizens) in steerage. In 2010 Hedge Fund Manager John Paulson made $5 billion dollars and paid no Income Tax. It’s all a game to them and little responsibility to the nation. Slick,Evil and Devious the whole darn bunch of them.

        • Michael

Searcher that is because the top 1% earn at least 36% of all income. Those at the bottom of the income ladder, who even though working 40 or more hour jobs earn $12,000 or less ,most of which are parents with children get an earned income Tax Credit which results in there getting a refund greater than what was paid in income taxes so that they can afford to be the working poor.

    • Michael

Would you prefer wealth be redistributed to you or would you rather have a job and earn the wealth?

      • Deerinwater

Earning is the way wealth is redistributed Micheal. I suppose you are attempting to suggest social service expenditures is wealth distribution. You tell us where the line form to all of this wealth.

Point it out, put and name on it so it might be discussed and review or are you just cracking wise?

      • CJM

I don’t give a damn about the wealth—just give me a job I can do at home (since I can no longer do 8 hours in publc). The jobs are not avalable, Michael; remember–the corporate offices gave them overseas and obama is doing NOTHING to have the jobs brought back. If I had my way, those corporations would be heavily taxed until they returned the jobs to the US.

The liberal view is, we shouldn’t compare or judge each other fairly especially via the negative, which might hurt someone’s “feelings”, even if the actions of the targeted comparison are clearly detrimental to our well being. Instead they count it better to elect without prior in depth awareness (negative attributes unknown) whereas the public votes in ignorance. Yeah right, keep that “Touchy Feely Kumbaya” crap for the liberal side, lol. I’d much rather be “In the know”.

History clearly shows Obama and his cronies have failed miserably time & time again. These considerable multiple failures far outweigh anything positive that they’ve done and severely discount any of their positive future dreams. That said, our side is seriously lacking as well, they’re all fake conservatives less one…RON PAUL.

BLABBER–WHERE ARE FACTS/NUMBERS TO BACK UP BLARNEY?

    • NC

Elected4life, history (2001-2008) shows that our economy went into a steady decline in spite of earlier promises that ‘THEIR” system was going to improve on the History 0f 1993-2002years. REMEMBER??? How did that come out.
If you want to see the real “history” of how the trickle down administrations have done against those TERRIBLE SOCALIST DEMOCRATS over the past 80 years of our history just type in “BULLS, BEARS , DONKEYS AND ELEPHANTS” and see why they say that “THE STOCK MARKET LOVES THE DEMOCRATS” 80 years of accidents???? ALSO type in “PROSPERITY AND PRESIDENTS” atFORBES.COM and see how a CONSERVATIVE magazine ranks the Presidents!!! “History” can be a real B**CH if you don’t know what you are talking about!

      • Old Henry

“1993-2002years. REMEMBER??? How did that come out.”

It ended in a recession and huge market crash. Bush cut taxes to put more $ in the economy and things turned around quickly.

And don’t forget our new Heroes, Tim Thomas from Boston,,,,way to go

    • Old Henry

      Absolutely Senator, er ah, Elected4Life!

And remember, FDR was an abject failure and was re-elected in ’36.

      • CJM

Yeah, but gutsy HST took over when FDR expired…and HST was a President who got things done, took no nonsense, and firmly believed “the buck stops here.” Sure wish we had an HST running today..what a man! Most folks don’t even talk about him much, but he was really one of the best modern Presidents we ever had.

  • China Jim

To compose and write a proper reply would make it the length of a Doctoral thesis, but to sum it up simply ” we got the leaders we voted for” In the first election we had John MCcain who reminded me of Uncle Fester with hair crossed with Mr Rogers as our prime canidate I had seen dead men men with more life, on top of that add Ron Paul to the mix the creepy neighbor who watches from his front window and many people thinks is crazy. I’m sorry folks but if you are looking for a charasmatic inspiring individual to go aginst Obama we are at the shallow end of the gene pool since Reagen I have not seen or heard of a inspireing politician for the consevative sect we have got what we got on the Republican side and thats that so we must do with what we have and hope and pray for the best.

  • Earl, QUEENS, NY

All I heard was the first few minutes of BHO’s speech. He sounded like he was campaigning Ronald Reagan style. That’s probably all he can do – try to dupe as many voters as possible. Well, we know the truth. BHO has proven to be a bigger failure in 3 years than Jimmy Carter was in 4 years. Perhaps the funniest part of the speech was before Obama began to speak. A local talk radio host made an introduction statement that Obama is a great speech giver. LOL!! Shouldn’t he have said ‘teleprompter reader’?? LOL!! Likewise, Sean Hannity had a great suggestion yesterday. Maybe Obama should’ve just said America ‘s in bad shape, and that he will resign effective noon the following day. That would be good!! Actually, it would be even better if the VP Joker Biden and BHO both resigned at the same time. Yeah, I hear you saying to me: “But Earl, if they both resign, then John Boehner will become POTUS, and he’s a total wimp!!” That’s somewhat true, but Boehner is certainly no worse than the democraps. BHO’s favorite pastime is blaming his follies and failed policies on GW Bush. Well, BHO has had 3 years to correct Bush’s errors?? Has he done so?? LOL!! NO WAY !! All he’s done is compound them. Again I must say – it’s true that we all get frustrated with RINOs and moderate GOP wimps. But common sense should say that replacing them with democraps only makes bad situations worse. Anyone who thinks democraps will correct the GOP’s errors probably believes in the tooth fairy!! VOTE WISELY!!

    • eddie47d

Obama hasn’t corrected the failed Bush policies because many of the same Republicans in Congress are still in bed with those errgresious failed policies of G Bush. Hard to flush the clogged sewer line if the Republicans are still hosing it up. Another thing Earl Obama didn’t use a teleprompter like Daniels did.

      • CJM

Sorry eddie, but that same congress we had when obammy overtook the WH is the same congress that blocked everything Bush wanted done. Blame it on the dumstercraps, not the repubs. Furthermore, today’s sorry mess is the legacy obammy is leaving us and has nothing to do with Bush. It’s time the sorry jellyfish in the oval office owned up to his errors of judgment…AND RESIGNED LIKE 2 YEARS AGO.

    K and Flash,
Have you considered that many of the jobs created might have come from the oil/nat gas industry? Something that your king voted against, again and again? Can’t Understand Normal Thinking?
No you would rather spout off about new govt jobs created.

You both are real Turdettes -go wipe the dew off the cherry and stop worshiping dog turds.

    • Michael

Why doesn’t business just go ahead and build the pipeline? Would they send Federal troops?

    • jim s

What happened to courtesy and respect? turdettes? Turds? Are we resorting to the socratic method? Political philosophy at its best. Keep it up.

    • eddie47d

Michael and TE: There are plenty of jobs in the oil and gas industry and more are coming on line. The biggest problem with the pipeline proposal is the Ogallala Aquifer and the Sandhill Region of Nebraska. Why don’t you care about States Rights and the citizens of Nebraska in how the pipeline will effect their water supply? A new route is now being offered and all the facts have to be considered. The oil companies don’t own the citizens yet and they still have some voice in how their land is treated.

The above article sounded more like a jealous pathetic whine than comedy. However over ninety per cent of the country loved the SOTU speech and are with our President and stand behind him like true patriots.During the speech when the President cited many of his accomplishments I thought Boehner was going to burst into tears when he realizes what was done without his help and the American people overwhelmingly loved it.Not many Republicans were clapping when they realized we are on the road to recovery and want to see this country destroyed just so they can take it back.So many are suffering today because of the ididot Republicans and they should all be voted out.

    • Sirian

      jopa,
Do yourself a favor and read “As We Go Marching” by John Flynn. It will give you a much better historical understanding as to how people are manipulated and used to go for this, that or whatever political leanings are preferred at any one time. You constantly harp about the Republicans since you haven’t the slightest idea as to how you have been manipulated and indoctrinated to follow the opposite. There are many comments that are posted now and then that are just as much leaning the Republican side as yours. Yet again, you don’t realize what a useful little robot you have unwittingly become. Boast, rant and rave all you like but that is exactly what you have been molded into to both believe and do. Now go read that book and I’m sure it will give you a much better idea, if nothing more, as to what and how everyone is used to the benefit of ideologues/politicians. Step out of you box for a while – you will be amazed what a different picture you will see. Oh yes, glad you turned your spell checker on.

      • eddie47d

Sirian: How about reading “The Failure of Wall Street: How and Why Wall Street Fails” by Eric Banks. The dark side of our financial system is exposed.

        • Sirian

          eddie47,
HA, beat ya to it, read this book about three years ago – yes, it does show the dark side of Wall Street but I had always held an instinctive reluctance to be financially played with by the ever willing brokers. To be quite honest, it seemed so obvious to me that, in a nutshell, it’s nothing more than playing blackjack and to often we lose. They profit, we lose. A highly risky game to play even if it can be beneficial – depends upon the cards you’re dealt. Wouldn’t you agree?

        • eddie47d

          Yes to that!

    • steve

yep, he really did win the peace prize.

    • Marlene

90%, jopa? More like 90% of the adult population either refused to watch the speech or started channel surfing as soon as it came on the air, as I did. I hate listening to repeat lies and rhetoric and the blame game over and over. It’s so predictable. Like others, I see Obama’s hatred for this country, its Constitution and its standout reputation. He’s determined to make the US a Marxist country at all costs and you blind followers lap up everything he says, like a bear running amok in a campground dump.

      • Flashy

got a source for the viewing numbers Marlene? Serious..i’d like to scan them.

BTW…I don’t know if anyone has said this to you but by purposely not being informed, you aren’t informed. Note that as you post on the site. You only knowwhat he said from what others are telling you what he said. Self allowed programming eh?

        • Marlene

Why bother watching for a third time what I’ve watched before? He’s not original and I’m fed up with his blame game, as many others are. Besides I DID watch some of it but muted the blame parts, and was laughing so loud at the repititions I may as well have turned off the TV. How can he repeat his lies with a straight face? Only robots like you appreciate the repetition because your brains can’t absorb much else.

Wow ! Ben is really good , his translation of Obama speak is dead on . Amazing how he was able to learn it in only three years .
Now I realize this is only a spoof of our Prima Donna in Chief but as he gave his State of the Union Address one could not help wonder what was really going on in the mind of this demi-god . I am quite certain that is how he see’s himself ,as the anointed one .
America needs more than a feelgood president , she needs a take charge leader who is looking out for the good of America and her people . Someone who wants to restore America to he former glory as the greatest country on earth . It is eminently clear that leading from behind is not going to work . Fancy rhetoric and a bunch of Misquoted Quotes from past Great Presidents will not get the job done. It is time for Obama to get out of the way for we need a solution and he is clearly part of the problem .

    • Searcher

Wyatt, I think you give the President way too much credit. I think there many many more people in D.C. on both sides of the aisle that can share the blame for the country’s problems. They all have their own agendas, and few have the best interests of ALL of the people, and the Constitution, as their primary agenda. The founding fathers busied themselves with building a great nation, and the vast majority of the current crop of politicians is busy grabbing all they can, and in the process tearing down the great nation the founders built.

  • Brian

Jopa…’We are on the road to recovery’??? Let’s look at the unemployment stats and the inflation stats AS THEY WERE CALCULATED IN THE 30′S AND THE 70′S… IF unemployment was calculated the way it was in the early ’30′s it would be 22.6%…At the HEIGHT of the Depression it was just under 25%. Heck, even if it was calculated that way it was in ’80 to ’81, unemployment would be in the high teens! INFLATION – if it was calculated the way it was in the 70′s it would be 10%+/-! The current ‘inflation rate’ is calculated without FOOD, FUEL, or HOUSING being a part of it – the last time I checked EVERYONE needed FOOD, FUEL, and HOUSING… Get a grip and stop believing the ‘evidence’ the administration puts out…

  • T.E.

Despite our lack of leadership and despite the gang-greenies, oil and Nat Gas, will lead this country out of the mire we’re in. The industry(s) are spending billions -leasing (putting money back into the hands of landowners), drilling, and putting thousands back to work.

Funny thou, your leader won’t approve the pipeline, yet EVERY day thousands of barrels of oil are transported by rail to OK. and (wait for it…) on a railroad owned by Uncle Warren! The longer the pipeline is delayed the more revenues WB collects… (this may explain the many visits to 1600 Penny ave. Hows that for redistribution of our money? KingO knows exactly what he is doing.

    Have some more koolaid dumos.

Sirian;Perhaps you are a Sirian however I am an American and I wholeheartedly agree with over 90% of the American public that the SOTU speech was right on.Perhaps you should read”As we go marching in” again and you may have a different outlook on life.

    • Sirian

      jopa,
I am a very proud and honorable American that follows and strongly believes in our Constitution. I served my country proudly and hold no qualms of being one of those useless 100% disabled vets. Obviously you are the exact opposite – by the power vested in you by our Constitution – free speech. Free speech, hummm, isn’t that unusual? Isn’t it rather nice that you both can and do have a right to free speech to make the statements that you do? Would you be allowed the same freedom to choose what you wanted to say if you were a proud North Korean? Chinese? Iranian? Syrian? Your statement clearly shows that unfortunately you are a well programmed robot. I wish otherwise but regrettably, you prefer the opposite for sure. Oh yes, the title of the book is “As We Go Marching”, not “As we go marching in”. Now calm down, pull that book up and read it. It is a chance to put your freedom to good use.

This site is beyond unbelievable. From the beginning, Ben Crystal’s “humorous” ravings about our president, to the would-be censors of writers with differences of opinion who have weighed in on this thread — I find most but not all of the comments to be appallingly ignorant, or at best uninformed.

I wonder how high up in his class Ben Crystal finished in his Buffoonery major at Davidson College…

As I read over the above comments I am reminded of linguist Edna Andrews assertion that language represents thought and may even control thought. Then I am reminded of the Sapir-Whorf theory that our grammatical categories shape the speaker’s (or writer’s) ideas and actions. The two above assertions tell a sad story about many of the respondents to Ben Crystal’s writing, not to mention Crystal himself.

Sadly, there are too many of us who consider ourselves to be Republicans (or Democrats for that matter). The Republican agenda is to convince as many people as possible to get out and vote for them. Fair enough. Ther sad story is that the vast majority of Americans have not and never will be represented by the GOP. The party is the party of banking, monopoly, oil, and mass production of food. Everything else the GOP espouses is window dressing to get uninformed voters to vote against their own best interests.

The GOP is Extremely educated in its upper echelons, extremely class conscious, and is completely aware of its itinerary which excludes all but the top elite. They proofread what they write and know well how to construct effective sentences. Most of the sorry bickering and name calling causes me to understand how Jesus must have felt when he foresaw the future of Jerusalem.

Beware of what you write or say, it is a great part of what you think and do. To step back and look at the big picture, possibly doing some serious retooling of thought and speech will benefit more of us than petty bickering about who is wrong or right.

Great posts today….some true some total BS…Flashy! Time nailed it…Obummer would not dare give an actual SOTU speech as it would all have to be a lie. In fact, everything he and his administration say is 100% horse feathers. However, lets be real, neither party has done the right things for our nation and our people. Most of their decisions have been about self interest.

All the fraud-in-chief said was more spending, more class warfare, more free everything to lock up the votes of those indebted to the government. By the way Flashy, that is approximately 50% of the country. That is a sad statistic. Oh, and when you say lets take the savings from stopping the wars and spend it on other BS, guess what, that is a slight of hand as there are no savings as the money is borrowed. So, what he proposes is more borrowing and he calls it savings! The trolls buy that BS every time!

When the economy implodes due to Iran, China and India killing the dollar as the worlds reserve currency…as they buy oil with gold….lets see how much love the Obummer trolls have for the fraud then. Its coming….no way around it other than to deplete all of our savings through inflation as the fed is doing now.

Everyone, we have to change the entire government out to truly drain the swamp of all the leeches and get real patriots who believe in and respect our founding father’s road map…our constitution!

  • jim s

“Patriotism is the last resort of scoundrels.” Dr. Johnson

    • Sirian

It appears jim s that your quote is off a bit. “refuge” not “resort”. A mix of words can through the meaning way off – either direction, correct? Of course it can.
(7 April 1775), as quoted in Life of Samuel Johnson (1791) by James Boswell, p. 253; Boswell’s full mention of this statement reads:
Patriotism having become one of our topics, Johnson suddenly uttered, in a strong determined tone, an apophthegm, at which many will start: “Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.” But let it be considered, that he did not mean a real and generous love of our country, but that pretended patriotism which so many, in all ages and countries, have made a cloak of self-interest.

      • jim s

The accuracy of the documentation is rather beside the point.
The point is that patriotism is and has been the last resort of scoundrels. You can quote me on that one.
When a responsible party betrays the public trust he (it’s most often a “he”) begins invoking the founding fathers, their patriotism, and how much more patriotic he is than those of us who are sure he is not.
Hope your computer doesn’t lock up on Wikipedia.

How can one man(Obama)say so much but say so little…simply a graduate of Marxist 101 for community organizers.

I know there are some who thought his SOTU was bright and refreshing but all I heard was the same thing that’s been said over & over again. It’s not my fault but I’m warning congress to get their act together! Give me your money and let the government grow and run your life…and by the way, screw capitalism and those of us that believe in capitalism…not a reference to his own crony-capitalist beliefs.

He couldn’t brag on much and again used the Bin Laden logic as his own personal accomplishment. Obama mostly offered “a number of small-ball initiatives,” along with a few “lofty promises” that nobody expects to amount to much, wants to help Americans refinance their homes(?), create a new task force that will “expand our investigations into the abusive lending and packaging of risky mortgages(think Fannie and Freddie), Osama bin Laden was mentioned more than health care reform(says what he thinks of that idea sticking around), he bragged about how his administration scrapped a 40-year-old rule that made dairy farmers prove they could contain a milk spill, as if milk were “somehow classified as an oil”.

Folks, if DC and our POTUS aren’t completely out of touch with reality them I’m a horses arse and I need to be led to the trough. I despise liars and Obama is a liar and cannot be allowed to lead this country past 2012.

FYI, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels had it right and his “rebuttle” was the highlight of an otherwise boring set of soundbites and talking points…thanl’s to Barack “Saul Alinsky” Obama.

  • Palin16

All through Obama’s speech, the cameras pointed to various politicians out in the audience, including Pelosi several times. I’m just wondering why when Obummer was talking about ending insider trading for Congress members, the cameras did not again look at Pelosi.

  • Alex Frazier

I used to be willing to entertain the idea that Obama was just following advice, and that it was the flaw in his model that was the problem. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Now, I’m certain beyond any doubt that the man thinks himself to be something equivalent to a king. He’s trying to make himself a dictator, and little realized by most, but as of the NDAA, we are actually under a police state. Martial Law has not been declared, but home soil has been declared the battle ground, there is a 20,000 man standing army, definitions to identify the enemy amongst the American population have been created, the means to find those individuals has been granted, and authority has been given to bypass the entire Constitution and deprive us of life, liberty, or property without legal counsel, due process of law, habeus corpus, grand jury, the confrontation of witnesses, etc.

This is not turning into a police state. This IS a police state. All they lack at this point is to disarm us so we can’t resist and the transition will be complete.
