Soros Donates $1M To Obama Super PAC

September 28, 2012 by

WASHINGTON, (UPI) –  Billionaire financier George Soros has donated $1 million to Priorities USA, a super PAC backing President Barack Obama, sources told The Hill.

The donation is the first Soros has given directly toward supporting Obama for the 2012 election. He had previously donated to other pro-Democratic super PACs earlier this year, The Hill reported Thursday.

“Soros has always been a supporter of the president, reports to contrary not withstanding,” said Michael Vachon, Soros’ adviser.

The New York Times reported Soros donated a total of $500,000 to Majority PAC and House Majority PAC, which back Congressional Democrats.

He would have scored more points by buying low cost housing for the homeless or helped out on mortgages for those being foreclosed on. Obama has a plethora of cash available to get the media paid and still have enough to pocket for retirement if he loses in November.

  • JimH

    ONLY a million?

    • JeffH

:)…that’s just one donation…rest assured there are many others… :)

  • s c

That’s my point, too. What a cheapskate! A paltry million for the White House Messiah? If a cause is worthwhile, it should be worth at least a trillion dollars. It’s not every day you can get someone who can do ANYTHING in the White House, folks.
Once again, Soros is showing how CHEAP he can be. I’d sure like to know if Obummer has the guts to tell Soros that HE needs to be soaked [no favorites in Washington - right?]. Well, Obummer, soak, soak, soak. Show us how much you REALLY care about Amerika.
And while you’re at it, Chicago needs you. Chicago has ALWAYS needed you more than we do. Rahmbo needs your special skills. Leave early and avoid the traffic.

That is just peanuts compared to the $30 million Sheldon Adelson gave to the Romney camp.Money from his casinos and prostitution centers in Vegas and China.Makes you wonder where his faith is when it comes to this kind of donation.I know the folks at the Salvation Army would not accept this type of contribution. The man has no morals in reality. The devil in disguise.

    • JimH

      ONLY 30 million?

  • jopa

JimH;In total he gave out $70million for the year which is a new record for political contributions. If Romney would have won he would have saved over two billion on his investment. It is nice to see his money in circulation even though it will be for a lost cause.

    • JimH

It’s a shame that someone would have to pay out 70 million, just to get a President in office that would benifit business and our economy.
      They really shouldn’t have to.
Or I should say business people shouldn’t have to pay through the nose to get rid of a leader that is detrimental to our economy.

  • jopa

JimH;I am so sorry.I didn’t realize you were Chinese. However I want a President that will work for America and there is only one man on the ticket for that Obama 2012.Thank You

    • JimH

Well vote for the guy that has to get loans from the CHINESE just to pay for the intrest on our debt.
Vote for the guy who’s idea of working for America is to add an average of 1.5 trillion dollar of debt to our country.
Vote for the guy that can squander a trillion dollars in so called stimulus to create jobs and have a higher unemployment rate to show for it.
Vote for the guy who is a Chicago thug.
Vote for the guy who we really don’t know if he was even born here.
Vote for the guy who believes the Constitution is an obstacle to be overcome.
Vote for the guy who only believes BIGGER government control and more taxes are the answer.
Vote for the guy that caves in to terrorists when our ambasidors are murdered.(calls an act of war a speed bump) What an insult to the victims and their families.
Really do my country a favor and you and other liked mind people, don’t show up on election day.
By the way I am a U.S. citizen, of German and Norweian heritage.(not Chinese)

  • JimH

I’ll vote for the guy who understands business and who has experience at being successful.
    Someone who has been there.

  • jopa

JimH;I won’t mention any names because the guys brother Jebb doesn’t want us to keep reminding the American public of what his brother did to America by starting two wars, gave a big dollar mega package for the pharmaceutical industry worth trillions and instead of raising taxes like a normal business person would ,he gave the billionaires a big tax break. Then the bills came due and the next guy had to borrow some money to cover the last guy’s mess and you try and make it sound like Obama spent the money. You should go for a little psyche evaluation or take a little business course. Then you go on to say Obama caved to terrorists, well ask the Somali pirates, Gadaffy,Usama Bin Laden and over twenty of his top generals.Ooops sorry they no longer exist. The guy’s that killed the American Ambassador are probably not spending too much time out in the open. They know Obama is a man of action and their days are numbered. He doesn’t do a lot of talking about these matters, and then one day poof they are gone.No brag just fact.

    • JimH

I’m suprised it took you so long to get to the blame the guy who hasn’t been around in 4 years, excuse.
At least our next guy will be man enough to not use the blame Obama excuse, even though it would be the truth.
The Somali pirates are more criminal that terrorist. They do their thing for money, not Islam. They don’t count.
Gadaffi was killed by a Libyan rebel. Not Obama. The French, English, and Italians asked us to provide aircover alongside them in Libya. If not for the other countries he would have been nowhere around there. They don’t count.
Bin Ladin was found close to election time. If word got out that we had a chance to get him and didn’t he wouldn’t have the ONE POSITIVE event during his term. It was about re-election, not doing the right thing. Good job CIA & Seal Team 6.
The guys who killed the ambasidor(speed bumps), He’s the one apologizing for a video, that had nothing to do with the murders.
Maybe if they get caught towards the end of October or the first few days of November he can try to take credit.
He’s still a wimp, but he’s got you fooled.

You are 100% right our next president we vote in cannot blame Obama for this disaster Bush created when Obama will be the next man voted in for four more years. When you speak of your next guy , I hope you don’t mean that coward Romney that ran off to France as a draft dodger in the 60s to keep out of Nam.That little piece of crap even had the nerve when in prep school to march around with signs for the war and the draft.Speaking of prep school that’s where he and six of his buddies beat the crap out of and cut the hair off one of their classmates because they thought he might be gay. That sure is one macho man you idolize so much. What else has Fox news taught you lately?Call it what you want but the Somali pirates were terrorizing the high seas.I also consider terrorists as criminals.

    • JimH

It’s to bad you have to go back to the 60′s when someone was a kid to find something wrong with the guy.
All the things I stated about your hero is going on NOW.
4 years and $6 trillion dollars later(you talk about the bill Bush left?) with no improvement and in some cases things are worse, thats the guy you want to stay at the helm?
Fool you once, shame on him. Fool you twice, shame on you.
I know Romney leaves alot to be desired, but he is a far sight better than the dismal failure we have NOW.
At least he has experience with how business and economies work. Thats more than a community organizer has to offer.
It doesn’t matter if it was Bush, or something that was started long before that. Placing blame doesn’t fix the problem and it’s obvious that the current administration, trying to place blame, isn’t the answer either.
      The results just aren’t there.
You place to much on the pitate thing. Criminals, not religious zelots. They STILL don’t count.
Ships are putting armed guards on board and an international effort by many countries navy’s are putting those pirates out of business right now.
I see the pirate thing is the only thing you tried to refute, so I’ll take that you concede to the other points.

  • jopa

JimH;Back in the 60s was when Romney was old enough to serve in the military and should have been quite mature by then and responsible for his actions and at that point in his life he would have already formed the values he would carry for the rest of his life. For him and six of his buddies to beat the crap out of a classmate and cut his hair because they thought he might be gay is pretty cowardly in my opinion and maybe not yours because everyone has differant values. Then you go on to say 4 years and six trillion dollars later as though Obama went out and took out a home improvement loan for America. That was to pay for Bushes two wars, the big Pharme bill, the tax break for the millionaiires, the remodeling Bush had done in Iraq, the Embassy that cost mega bucks for starters with the big olympic pool and tennis courts Haliburtons cost plus no bid contracts and outfits such as Blackwater.Obama did the mature business like approach as sad as it was but it had to be done. What was he supposed to do ignore the spending like Bush did. Then we would be in a fiasco and like in the words of one of Americas all time greatest leaders, it’s just Mathematics.Thank you and have a good one.

    • JimH

Back in his college days whe Obama was smoking pot and snorting coke and going to college on other peoples money, formed tha values he will carry with him for the rest of his life. I guess you’re OK with that.
The debt was at 10 trillion when he got it. He has grown it by 1.5 trillion a year. If we give him 2 terms, at the average he is going at now he will more than double(10+12=22) in 8 years what it took 230 years to get to.
This country has gone through wars before, not only Bush was in office during wartime and it didn’t turn out this way. You give Bush more blame than he should get.
Tennis courts and swimming pools don’t cost trillions. Haliburton didn’t charge trillions. Blackwater didn’t charge trillions.
6 trillion more added to the debt didn’t all come from your favorite scapegoat. Your hero is responsable for the lions share of it. The crying shame is there is nothing to show for it.(not even a swimming pool)
      Have a great day.
