Slouching Toward Washington

November 4, 2010 by

Slouching Toward Washington

The precincts are dark. The campaign signs are already fading. The absentee ballots have submerged beneath the Chicago River. ACORN has returned to teaching “girls” how to conduct “business.”

The rough beast is reborn. The GOP is back.

All right Republicans, you shrugged off the vituperative venom, the mendacious mudslinging and duplicitous defamation to exile the liberals to the nosebleed section of the Congressbowl. Two years of Barack Obama’s Alinsky-ite babble and four years of Nancy Pelosi’s bug-eyed cacophony led to the immolation of the Democrat Party’s ambitions on a bonfire of political inanities. Good for you? Of course. Good for us? It had better be; or you’ll be joining your erstwhile opponents on the electoral unemployment line.

If you, the freshly minted Republican House majority, can’t engineer significant reversal of the runaway economic disaster the Democrats have foisted upon us, expect 2012 to resemble 2006 instead of 1980.

Being a charitable fellow, I thought I would offer a few suggestions as to how you might ensure that your time in the political limelight lasts longer than a sparring session between Roy Jones, Jr. and Harry Reid.

  1. Cut spending. Check that — axe-murder spending. Don’t “rein in wasteful outlays.” Do “relate to runaway budget deficits the way Jason Voorhees related to scantily-clad teenagers.” Start with something worthwhile and visible, such as taxpayer funding for National Public Radio. It is not lost on me that the same liberals who say NPR shows no discernable bias are the ones crying for soulless conservatives to spare it from the legislative guillotine. If their programming is so marvelous (to be fair: some of it is), let them sell sponsorships like the saps operating above 92.1 on the FM band. Let’s see how many people are willing to snatch scratch from their own registers so Nina Totenberg can wish West African Death Virus on some Republican’s grandchildren.
  1. Cut taxes. I know — groundbreaking stuff. But I’m not merely referencing extending the Bush tax cuts for the leisure class — I don’t particularly care if Paris Hilton has to wait a month before buying her next pink-hued… thing. I’m talking about burying the entire dimwitted concept of the “rich paying their fair share.” The rich already pay their fair share, along with quite a few others’ fair shares, as well. What the Democrats want to do is send the American economic football team onto the field without the varsity offense. Enough badly mixed sports metaphors. Give the Bush-era tax relief another decade.
  1. Drive a stake through Obamacare’s undead heart. Tell the liberals that it “fails means-testing for long term viability.” Meanwhile, perhaps one of the left-wing jacklegs would like to enlighten the class about the new 3.8 percent real estate surtax slipped into the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to pay for all of us to have our tests evaluated by a guy whose medical experience was gleaned from watching “Marcus Welby, M.D.” reruns. You Republicans will stand behind every state which sues to throw Obamacare overboard. Otherwise, in 2012, it will be ye who walk the plank, maties.
  1. Kill the bailouts, dismember them and bury them in deep holes miles apart. General Motors pocketed more than $50 billion in taxpayer swag and it’s increasingly unlikely they will make enough from their upcoming initial public offering  to pay back more than one-fifth of that. The same vehicular virtuosos who gave us mind-numbing Chevy rent-a-boxes and the Dali-esque (nothing else would do it justice) Pontiac Aztek can go pound tire dust. Ford didn’t take a nickel, and they’re doing just fine.
  1. Nail the pork barrel lid shut. Two words: West Virginia. Everything in that state which stops moving for more than a few moments ends up with a sign commemorating a dead Klansman-turned-legislator. Congress stuck nearly $17 billion in earmarks to legislation this year. We’re a trillion in the hole, and these clowns want to keep building proverbial bridges to nowhere. Yes, I mean you, Thad Cochran (R-Miss.)! Don’t think that R spares you from responsibility, pal.

Since the polls indicated the economy was foremost on the voters’ minds when they activated the ejector seat in the American Batmobile, I have focused primarily on economic issues. The Democrats will accuse you of causing gridlock, of distracting Obama from the business of governing. I would retort that distracting Obama from the business of governing is like distracting a wolf from gnawing on your wallet — or your kids. But the lesson remains immutable: Republicans, the nation has granted you an electoral reprieve.

Don’t screw this up, or more than mere anarchy will be let loose upon your world.

Every point that you stated Ben was right on,
    1.Cut spending
    2.Cut Taxes
    3.Kill the Bailouts
    4. Nail the pork barrel lid shut.

But I would also add, stop the same ole same ole politics. It should never be politics as usual again. Quit bowing to the Democrats like they have something on you.
Stand up and make a real change in Washington with honesty, integrity, and get us back to the Constitution. We want to be proud of our Government. We want a smaller Government. Give the states back their power, and stop the harrassment of Arizona.

We can’t control Obama, with his multimillion dollar trips, and we can’t control his stupidity, but we can stand together and make a lasting difference.
    Our work has just begun.

      Jana,
As Rush said, if the repubs want to prove that they plan to represent the people then they ought to make Nobamam wear out several veto pens trying to repeal the health care bill!! That would show us that they intend to listen to us! Also the border should be closed before they do anything else!!!

      • Jana

        Joe H.
You and Rush are both right.
Make Obama wear out the veto pens. that will show EVERYONE what they stand for, and get that border closed NOW.
I am so tired of the Rebulicans acting, appearing and being weak willed and weak minded. We have a Country at stake here.

        • Buzz Breslin

          AMEN, brothers and sisters!

          • jazzyman

I can’t wait, if they do it and he wears out that veto pen, you can see his face turn red, redder that the communist flag, when every veto he does get overturned, will truly be a great day in our history.

            Buzz,
Do not forget that we still have to suffer through a couple of months of a “lame duck” congress.I would not put the possibility of the dem/socialists to try and pass more of their B/S agenda out of mind.Personally I am loading up my shotgun with “birdshot” and waiting to see what those progressive asses try next.America has spoken, but will they listen?.

Oh, I don’t expect they will get overridden as they don’t have the majority or support to do that. At least till 2012! THEN his face will turn BEET red!!!

      • Jana

Last night I was watching Katie Couric as she was talking about how the Republicans had won so many states. Then she asked her co anchor, “How could this have happened?”
Its because the main stream news media hasn’t been reporting the news around this country they have been spouting their point of views and touting it as news. They are as out of touch with what the American people feel, think and want as Obama is.
For all of their pushing and shoving garbage down the throat of the American people, it just didn’t work and they are stunned. They just don’t get it. Possibly they never will.

        • s c

Jana, Katie’s question is so utterly typical of America’s whore media and how they define objectivity. Katie hasn’t a clue, and yet her peers will get in line and fight to defend her ‘journalistic integrity.’ Amazing!
She wouldn’t have any integrity (or intelligence) if she could buy it wholesale. Under other circumstances, Katie’s hypocrisy would be hysterical. Why any TV network would ‘pay’ for her services is beyond me.

          • Buzz Breslin

I had the laughs of my life the other night watching Olbermann interviewing Pelosi. How’s that for laughter!

        • Dad

Why would anyone watch Katie Couric anyway? You are contributing to the problem. Stop watching the propaganda and cancel most subscriptions… if you step on their air hose, they will get the message.

          • Another Dad

I agree 100%, why do you watch Katie Couric if you don’t like it? I don’t watch her or her backers. They act like they don’t hear the people of the US shouting STOP!!!! How nieve do they think we are. DON’T WATCH!!!

          • Jana

I wasn’t “watching” her, I was actually channel hopping.
However, we are accused all of the time of watching only one news network which is Fox by the liberal lefties. I do like to watch some of the others to see how idiotic they are, what lies they are propagating, as well as who sponsers such idiotic dribble so I can write these sponsers and complain.

          • jazzyman

why should anyone watch or listen to any of those idiots, spitting out that trash, they all sound like that crap that comes out of my waste.

          • Jana

To know how the ‘other side’ thinks.

          • eddie47d

Gridlock should be called out for what it is,GRIDLOCK!Either the newbies will solve the gridlock problem or come up with a better solution. If not they will take over the title of gridlock kings. Ben would call a Hershey bar a rectangular turd whether it made sense or not. Will these newbies fight all pork in their States or will they have their own favorites? (In reality, the majority of “pork”is a necessary part of a functioning state government) Bridges, libraries, flood control, water projects, expanded highways, airport improvements, ect. We’ll see how they tackle these issues. They say no more bailouts, but what if a major business in their state is going to fly the coup? Will they accept the increased unemployment or raise taxes (pork) to keep that company there? God Bless the Tea Party folks but life is not a light switch that can be turned on and off. Just saying No and having gridlock doesn’t always cut it.

I do not normally watch any of the Lame Stream Media, but on election night coverage like this one I get a good laugh at the Morons babbling. They prove that they are clueless, and many of them will literally need psyciatric treatment for years to come. Look how long the Looney Left took to get over the 2000 election. At one point late on election night, I thought that Katie Couric was about to burst into tears. Was it real or phoney, since all Libtards have to work with is Pure Emotions???

          • Angel Wannabe

Jana, right on__if your planning on defeating the opposition, you gotta know HOW they think!

          • Jana

            Wild Bill and Angel,
Thanks. Many times the leftists tell us we do not watch anything but Fox, and that just isn’t true. On Satallite, we have one station that shows 6 at once, and I am always perusing that as it is helpful to see how THEY think. Talk about hate speech, wow.

          • Jana

            Eddie,
We really aren’t naive enough to believe this has solved any of our problems. We are hopeful that this might be a start to solving some of the problems and to stop the spending. I am proud that the Repubs have been the party of NO. No more spending, no more bailouts, no to the Health care fiasco.
Gridlock will still be there, it has to be because the Senate is still Deomocrat. We also still have RHINO’s in office. We the people need to be even more vigilant than ever and make sure our reps know what we want and then we need to go one step further and make sure they DO what we want. They are our employees, and they had better realize it and act like it.
Pork may be and is necessary, but some pork is bad for us and the economy and they need to start explaining what pork they are trying to serve up. A lot of us are more involved now, and more saavy as to what is going on, and we will be watching.

        • Paul Etheridge

Jana…you are right on in my opinion. Someone once said you should “Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.” I believe it was mentioned in the movie, Godfather part 2. You certainly can’t ignore them. And whoever posted they watch sometimes just to chuckle at their inane, idiotic remarks….I do the same thing.

          • Jana

Thank you Paul. They say some pretty weird things, and it is laughable.

        • http://?? Joe H.

          Jana,
Katie has always been against the repubs and it was never more evident than when she refused to call him Mr. President or President Bush after Bush won for the second term!! Instead she called him Mr. Bush!! nothing biased about that girl! Excuse me I meant UNbiased!!!

          • Jana

            Joe H.,
Yes, it was obvious from her question she couldn’t believe it. She is just like the rest of the ultra libs, very biased and proud of it. I* can’t call Obama Mr. P either. He isn’t mine, and he has made that very plain.

          • Vigilant

On election night I tuned into MSNBC just for kicks to see how they were covering the rout. After about 20 minutes of watching Olberman, Maddow and Matthews demean, denigrate and deride the Repubs, my stomach couldn’t take it any more. So much for “objective” reporting.

I switched back to Fox where I saw a very professional team cover the results. Who cares what the libs claim? Fox is indeed the most fair and balanced reporting of any channel on the tube.

And viewers are voting with their remotes, as Fox continues to pick up new watchers in droves while MSNBC goes further into the tank day by day.

          • Claire

Joe H — I never watch Katie Couric. She is the most overpaid “lifeless, no personality” person I have ever seen. She bores me. I do not waste my time on her.

“4. Nail the pork barrel lid shut.”

From the queen of the tea party came the bridge to nowhere.

      They are all the same.

BTW we need to IMPROVE our health care. To think I can go to Cuba and get something comperable to ours is embarasing.

      Rob

      • meteorlady

There was nothing wrong with our health care until the government stepped in. I have friends in Canada that wait for a long time when they need specialists. Doctors in my area aren’t taking new medicare or medicaid patients because they don’t get enough money and have to pass the cost onto the paying, responsible people like us.

One of the large hospitals in my area came out with a study. Seems that illegals were costing the hospital in excess of 5 million per year. If it’s just one large hospital what are the rest getting hit with?
This needs to stop. We cannot keep letting these people over run our country. The cost of that 5 million is added to the services of the hospital so we all pay more to get treatment, then the insurance companies raise the rates because the prices for medical treatment has gone up. Along the border it is especially bad because they cross over and have their anchor babies as well as get their free medical.

Clinton signed on to allow the drug companies to advertise and the cost of drugs doubled in just one year. Bush signed the prescription drug benefit and the cost of drugs went up 1/3 in six months.

        Are we dumb or what?

        • jazzyman

yes because we bought into all those lies in the first place, we stop reading and listening to our inner selves, so the only one to blame is us, now were awake and it time to change this hand out mentality, and remember what the founders built this country on, self respect and ingenuity to build and grow on our own abilities, not wait for hand out,we bought into this crap from wilson and those progressives, who sold us on they could make our lives better, but the only one that can make your life better is free people with free minds and ambitions to do whats best for ourselves and families, and keep the government out, that not there role,

          • vicki

Feed a man a fish you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

The knowledge has been with us for ages.

        • Robert Smith

From meteorlady: “There was nothing wrong with our health care until the government stepped in.”

Sure was/is. American health care is on par with CUBA. Their infant mortality and ours are about the same and our life spans are about the same. Other industrialised countries have BETTER health care plans than we do.

” I have friends in Canada that wait for a long time when they need specialists.”

I couldn’t see a specialist AT ALL because there wasn’t one locally that was “in plan.” In Canada it may take awhile but they will pick up the tab for flying you to the specialist for the appointment. My insurance company pretty much said, “tough cookies.”

“Doctors in my area aren’t taking new medicare or medicaid patients because they don’t get enough money”

Yup, the best health care money can buy. But if you ain’t got the money you die because of the GREED.

“and have to pass the cost onto the paying, responsible people like us.”

And GREED from Americans who don’t want to stand in line for even a moment. Sheesh, no wonder much of the rest of the world hates us.

BTW, I’d expect anyone who claims to be “pro-life” to be DEMANDING health care for all Americans.

As far as illegals go: What is it about the “ILLEGAL” part people don’t get? It’s BIG BUSINESS that needs them to do their work for cheap while Americans don’t get jobs. ANYTHING that help the illegals is what BIG BUSINESS wants. That way they don’t have to pay healthcare, taxes, or anything else except a token wage that largly gets sent south anyhow.

The illegal problem is way bigger than most folks can imagine. We have the money, we have the military, and we have the sympathy of most of America. Close the border tight and let them shoot each other down there rather than in America.

          Rob

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Roberto,
When I had my back surgery, I saw a specialist and was in the hospital schedualed for surgery the very next day! took me exactly 2 days to get in to see a neurosurgeon!!!
When I had to see an ortho man for my rotator cuff problem I made the appt on tuesday and went to the office on thursday!! Try that in Cuba or Toronto!! If you can’t find satisfaction for your complaints here then by all means, go back to Cuba and eat your bowl of rice twice a day!!!

          • Jana

            Robert Smith,
You are also free to change insurance companies. All you have to do is show the new Ins. Co. that you are currently insured. I think we have all had run ins with them, but when the Gov’t. takes over there will be no oversight committee or changing plans or companies. We will be stuck.

Also, before my mother turned 65 I had her go to a couple of other Dr.’s around town, just to make sure she was in their system BEFORE she turned 65 and be too late to get in. After that, she had her pick of 3 different Dr.’s. Sometimes a little forethought makes a lot of difference.

        Robert:

Your memory is faulty – or you just don’t want to face the truth. The “bridge to nowhere” was set up by a Senator – not Palin. And when he recently died, there was a huge on-cry of just how wonderful he was here in the continental US.

        • Karolyn

I believe I remember Palin taking responsibility for that fiasco.

          • Teresa

Karolyn, your fixation with Palin is showing again. Please in your own words tell us all what this woman has done that is so terrible to this country that you fear her so bad?

          • usnpops

Do a search for Bridge to Nowhere in Bing and get educated about the entire story.

Sarah Palin did not instigate the bridge to nowhere. It was blown out of porportion by the Media.

Mrs Palin did support the idea, but eventually changed her mind when Federal funding was insufficient to build the bridge. Something I wish many politicians would learn to do. Change their mind when ideas prove to be bad for the time presented.

It would be a boon to the city of Ketchican where the airport is on an Island and accessible by ferry. Having the bridge would improve tourism in this quaint little town. And in time such a project may be considered again.

          • JeffH

usnpops, the “bridge to nowhere” reminds me of the “I can see Russia from my back porch” comment credited to Palin but just a SNL skit…

Yes, and so did the majority of Americans who gave the GOP the largest Congressional turnover since 1938, turned over 600+ state legislative seats and captued a large number of governorships.

Be careful what you wish for. You’re asking for “change”! Obama promised “change” and look what we got. You can cut spending, but if it’s cut wrong, it won’t be pleasant. Right now, your 401k is about to increase it’s balance… but it will decrease in value. The dollar is dropping against all other currencies. This means exports will increase due to the increased buying power for other countries, but YOUR money will be worth LESS! THAT’S INFLATION! So, we reduce the trade deficite, but your budget gets SHOT doing it!

We must hold the new leaders’ feet to the fire, and make the RIGHT changes, otherwise we’er right back to 2008. It’s gonna be a rough ride back to stability, and many here will still be complaining.

Of course that’s not the way to go…printing fiat money simply devalues our money further and further. This is not the way to get us back on a sound financial footing. We also MUST bring manufacturing jobs back to this country. The supposedly ‘free trade’ that we are suppose to have is a joke when China simply manipulates her currency to make it impossible for companies it this country to compete. Nothing will change much until this issue is addressed, because until it is, the job situation in this country will not change appreciably. But any time someone suggests taxing imports or some such action…the wailing can be heard far and wide. It’s not only the pols that need to wake up. The people also must come to their senses and get educated as to what’s going on everywhere. Do people really believe other countries [China??] are going to deal fairly with us. Good grief!!!

The meeting held on September 14th and 15th, between the Labor and Treasury Departments outlined the Course of Action. The agenda is called “Lifetime Income Options for Retirement Plans”.

The Federal Government will Manage and Control an estimated $3.613 Trillion Dollars in IRA’s and $2.350 Trillion Dollars in 401ks.

The Equity will be placed in U.S. Treasury Bonds that will Pay out an estimated 3%. One major clause is that upon retirement, the value of the Individual’s Account will be placed into Annuities. Once the individual Dies, the Value of the Account will Automatically become property of the Government. The Program will be Structured much like Social Security Accounts (the biggest Ponzi Scheme ever created).

The Only way Government would get away with what will be “The Largest Heist Known To Man” is by Allowing or Creating a Major Financial Market Meltdown!

An ageing person who sees his or her Retirement Account Drop 50%-60%in a matter of Days…. Is More willing to take a Conservative Approach… Even if it means “Government-Guaranteed Income”.
The move toward Nationalization of IRA’s & 401ks will Initially be Offered as an Option. Those who are Unwilling to accept Government Run Retirement Accounts, will be Stripped of their Current Account Tax Benefits…

You’ll be Forced to Pay Taxes on your Holdings, Automatically Wiping Out 35-45%of Your Money!

This will Take place After the Stock Market Drops an Estimated 40-60%!

If the Following Indicators are Right… A Stock Market Crash is Eminent!

        Unsustainable U.S. Debt
        Real un-employment continues to Rise
        Housing market continues to Drop
Failing Banking System (2-7 Banks Fail Weekly)
Lower Quality of Life (1 in 8 Americans are now on Food Stamps)
        A Massive Crisis is Brewing!

Remember The Government Phrase: “Never waste a good crisis”

      Jana – Speaking of Odumbo’s India trip…

He’s taking his entire family and 3,000 others. This is unprecidented. One has to wonder, at this point in time, why? At $200million per day?

It begs the question: a. Has he some reason to believe he needs all this extra entourage in India because of his own security, or b. He’s getting as many of his own out of the US because of some threat (or plan) here at home that we are not being told about.

Interesting that it follows on the heels of a huge defeat. While this trip was know prior to the election, they only released the details afterward.

What a huge kick-in-the-teeth to the struggling American taxpayer. This guy is a real piece of work.

Come on, you lefties. Let’s hear you defend this one.

      • Jana

To me he acts like he is the President of an elite resort, and is entitled to all of the perks.
He needs to pay for this himself or not go. He sees all of this as free money. No wonder some of the people reply to the question of where are we going to get the money to pay your rent for you? They reply, “From Obama money”. Not even From Obama’s money, but Obama money.
Good points though does he know something we do not and has to get out of the country? I truly don’t think so but if he does, it will backfire on him.

        • Teresa

Look, Obama has been trained well. His agenda is not hard to figure out…follow the trail, follow his associates..
Pay close attention…he will now try to disassociate the US from Israel, he will try to disarm the American citizens, he will try to control as much money, land, jobs, private lives as possible. Our very Constitution will be changed! Don’t belive me…watch him closely..the President thinks himself above us, he runs to his associates and the UN..NOT to the American public! Watch him..and watch him closely for our lives as you know it will never be the same. Confussion is his game and we are truly at war people and you better be alert for you have no idea the people who are already here.

Teresa, Sadly, I know you are right.

Obama clearly is laughing at our outrage. He’s spending us into oblivion and relishing every minute of it. What th…

I’m, right now, listenting to Glenn Beck asking, “Why is he even going to India?” Looking at the itinerary, it appears to be a sightseeing trip. $200,000,000 per day. To Mumbai, a place that’s extremely dangerous, which he’s already cancelled 2 or 3 times.

Something is weird about this. By all appearances, it is just a huge blowing of taxpayer money, for no good reason. Obama is the most devious and un(anti)-American POTUS we’ve ever had. I wouldn’t doubt for one minute that TPTB, those for whom he dances, are up to something detrimental to us.

          • Jana

Yeah great job with the same old stupidity buddy. Great talking points that you spout out over and over again. The Republicans told you all what you wanted to hear. What are you going to do them when they go back to the same old ways that got us into this mess in the first place. Half of the disenchantment with Obama is that he wasn’t liberal enough and that the Republicans made everything as bad as possible just to regain political seats this year. Well their plan worked great. Do you really think any of the Republican leadership cares at all about your crazy theories and rhetoric? What are you going to do to get them back vote the Democrats back in? After all the crap you talked about them over the years they know you would never do that. You have no more claws now. Once the tea party anger subsides, and it greater support for that craziness WILL fade into the sunset, they will just marginalize people like you like they always have. Wisely I may add. Don’t think the majority of people agree with you and always will. They’re just mad over the economy. When the Republicans and the Tea Party loonies make things worse for this country the country will clean house again and put Democrats back in power. It’s only a matter of time. Good lucks guys. Enjoy your moment in time, your 15 minutes. Make that 14, better keep on keeping that powder dry.

That pretty well covers it, Ben. While we’re on the topic of what the newies need to do in Washington, they would do well NOT to go there to legislate. They need to dismantle the insanity inherent in Obummer’s ‘Yes, we can destroy America.’
If the newies don’t already have that attitude, this second chance will be for nothing. Rip. Tear asunder. Defund. And, in the same move, INDICT and CONVICT everyone in this damned administration who expects to leave Washington with a full retirement package and saddled America with indentured servitide while those bastards and bastardettes were in office. There’s plenty of time to convict and indict while fixing an economy the Republicans spent 8 years destroying, ending 2 wars, fixing the housing market and dismantling civil rights. I’m sure they’ll get it ALL done in 2 years. Just remember that Obama is in the same place Clinton was in AND that Ronald Reagan was in after their first 2 years and they both had 2 terms and are revered. Also, the Democrats could have spent this 2 years indicting all of the Bush clan but they got to work instead. Do you want to fix the economy or punish Democrats for not agreeing with you crazies?

Congress has been giving away Billions every year for decades. It’s both parties not just one. Anyone who thinks things will get better now is delusional. The dollar isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Prices will start skyrocketing soon and then it’s good-bye America.

        • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Liberty

Regrettably Robert, I fear you are correct in you assessment. The foreign aid the bought off politicians so freely give at our expense simply adds to our debt. The interest on that debt is of course paid to The Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve created the money for the foreign aid giveaways out of thin air; saddling the American citizens with interest payments to be paid to them on the debt.

Democruds were voted back into office in many cases through voter fraud, and by the “takers” in our country. The “makers”, or private sector will be further burdened by the “takers”.

        • Jana

Not only that, but the Unions are in there complaining that they need help because of their members pensions and they spent how many billions during this campaign for advertisements and funding etc? Doesn’t sound like they are in trouble to me, sounds more like the top doesn’t feel they are rich enough.
These unions are becoming a scourge on our society. Unions are like a gimmick to make some people rich while taking from the working man. But these stupid working men will continue to join them and pay them and continue to vote them in, as well as continue to vote how they are told, which is Democrat.

          • Jana

Another thought on these unions. Where are they getting the money to spend on these candidates of their choosing? From the very retirement and pension funds that the workers are supposed to be getting. They have done the same thing as the government did when they threw the Social Security monies into the general fund and spent it all. These Union bosses and thugs have dipped their crooked fingers into the Union members pension funds. Now they are backing these Democrats because they want them and the government to bail them out and put the money back into these pension funds.
Sure are a lot of shinanigans going on. And the Union members think the Unions can’t do any wrong and that they are all for the lowly workers. HA! These Unions have manipulated these people into paying dues to someone who is stealing from them.

          • usnpops

The unions in this country have become the entities they were initially setup to counteract in the interest of “Fairness” and Spread the wealth.

They are now one of the biggest business’s and control a big part of our government. There should not be a Government Employees Union, they are civil servants and should serve, not suck the treasury dry.

China may exploit their workforce, but they have the right idea on Unions. Try to organize one, and go straight to jail. And seeing images of China, they all look like they are dressing well, and eating well without the burden of union dues on workers.

          • Jana

Unions and Democrats have a lot in common. They all use whatever means possible to take from the people.

They used to be an honorable party, but they have gone so far downhill I don’t know if they can change back to the good or not.

one very important thing you dont mention in the article is investigate the rampant voter fraud all over the country. the military votes which always seem to get there a day or two late, the ballots with reid already picked, acord still alive and well but under another name and still funded by our taxes by way of obama. we might need to take a stepback in technology to mechanical voting machines so computer hacking would be impossible. if we dont fix these things i will never be able to trust our voting system. i really think reid may have lost the election if not for fraud.

    • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Liberty

The voter fraud issue is a problem nation wide, and has been going on for decades. Neither party wants to address the issue in a serious manner; which makes one wonder if both parties aren’t benefitting.

Harry Reid, Al Franken, or, Christine Gregoire in Washington state. Hey, wait, those are all democruds.

      • kenneth

I agree with everything said. Unless we have the dumbest people ever in Nevada, and Massachusetts then you have to believe that there is still a systematic problem in our voting, media, or just plain and simple corruption. How would any red blooded American vote back in to office a senator who created an out and out lie about our financial markets, Fattie Mai and Freddie Mac, another who forced Obama Care down their throats, and has been to some part supporting illegal alien participation in government supported programs which are only for citizens of the USA. How does that work. If you look at for the good of our nation you can’t ignore these as treason acts that have hurt every living American. The strength of our nation has been greatly altered by the actions of these few which have been reelected for another term. I have to believe that there was a misrepresentation of the people’s will in those states, and a tremendous amount of energy went into changing the real out come of the people’s real desire. No one with a clear thinking mind could have possibly believe in the amounts it took to rehire these representative that these individuals would be a positive force for their state. Ignoring this is like ignoring all of the other things we have going wrong in this country.

        • kenneth

You can include the representative of California in my comments also.

          • Craig

I live in CA and I apologize to the entire country for Boxer. Sorry folks we have the highest percentage of morons in this state. No where else could we re-elected a governor that screwed up this state, a senator that is clueless. We also voted in to allow legislators to screw us with a stupid global warming bill, that will raise our energy costs 40-60%. All because these morons in this state bought into that man made global warming hoax.

          • Jana

            Craig,
There are a lot of good people in CA. and I am so sorry for you all. CA. has a lot of young stupid kids that would vote in a lame duck if it promised them all a party.– – - Well, hmmm, I guess they did vote in a lame duck and he promised them hardships. Go figure.

        • Conservatives United

Has anyone noticed that 3 or the 4 states with the highest unemployment and fiscal problems re-elected the same Idiots that got them into the problems back into office. Those being California, New York, and Nevada. When their economies totaly collapse WE THE PEOPLE, and the new Congress (Mainly the House), need to reject all bailouts to these states. Let the states suffer for their election day STUPIDITY, as only then will it start to register on them. They only state that began the change was Michigan, which elected a Repub Governor and some Repub to congress and the statehouse. They did re-elect Dingle Dangle, and several other of the USELESS IDIOTS, back to congress.

I live in NY and avery time I go to vote I always know that it will change nothing. I suspect there are more conservative-minded people here, but they probably don’t vote because they know it will make no difference. To think that Schumer was re-elected easily turns my stomach.

NY needs to be allowed to declare bankruptcy (currently, states cannot legally do so). If the mechanisms were in place to allow it, that would immediately nullify all public sector union contracts, which would have to be renegotiated. Like CA, NY’s budget is overburdened with tremendously expensive pension obligations that will kill the state unless something is done about it soon.

          • Vigilant

Incidentally, when I voted yesterday (Row D: Conservative), the paper form I filled out was simply eaten by the machine without allowing me to review the choices I made! Given the possibility that the machine could have been tampered with, I will never know if the vote was correctly counted as I specified.

Who the Hell in this state authorized the use of these machines?

        • Dan az

          kenneth
Do as I did leave that state now!I left it 18yrs ago and never went back they are just eating up your air leave now before its to late!

    • 45caliber

I definately agree about the mechanice voting machines vs. what we use now. It takes less than five minutes to change a machine to count the votes any way you like – such as counting every fifth vote for you and the rest for your opponent. And it is almost impossible to find out what happened or who did it. It’s hard to mess up a punched ticket – and if you are silly enough to leave a chad hanging on your card, it doesn’t deserve to be counted.

      • DaveH

        45,
Electronic Voting could be our salvation. At present, as far as I know, there is no way an individual voter can check to see that his/her vote was recorded correctly. There should be State databases set up so that any voter can (using a standard software application) check the database to see how his/her vote was entered. It would also make it easy for any organization or individual to check the databases to verify the vote counts.
We could change to that kind of system with a concerted push on our Representatives. They won’t do it willingly because they really don’t want that kind of transparency.

        • http://none Mike

Dave, Another way to do it would be to have the machine print out a physcal record of your vote(much like a recipet at the store) Then you could go to the data base and check that recipet against what was recorded. Then establish a citizen oversight committy in each district to correct misshandeled votes. Then when the canidate cries about votors not chooseing him you have a physical record to give him to cry on. Untill such a time its too easy just to bury the fraud in a data bank somewhere(the white house) Another thing about the reelection of the worst of the worst Reid and Pelosie. They had seen the writeing on the wall headed their direction. They made it a point to go strong arm their union buddies into strong arming their employees to vote for them. I wonder how many of these employees were threatend with loss of their jobs if they did not go vote. Also thoes states are forced union so in order to get a job there you have to join their union. Untill that pratice is stopped there will be a permanant pool of voters for the democrats to pull from when threatend. Mike L.

        • 45caliber

One of the local poll workers was entering some votes from absentee ballots when he realized he’d entered the number wrong. He called in someone to allow the votes to be corrected. The guy walked up with a laptop, plugged it in, and changed the votes in about three minutes. The workers were shocked. If he could do it to correct votes in that short of time, it was certainly possible that someone else could do the same to shift the vote however he wished. That is what I don’t like about the computer system.

          • Angel Wannabe

45, Thats why I hate computer voting, it’s way too easy to cheat on anything! We still vote the old fashioned way, by using a pen to completely blacken in the circles with a black pen. We voted by the individual, instead of straight ticket, we thought if voter fraud were to happen, it would be harder to cheat with the individual marks. This absolutely sux, to have to worry about wether our damned votes count!!!

          • DaveH

I understand that, 45, but if the information was contained in a publicly available database, we could check to see if it was changed. We can’t do that now, whether it is recorded on paper or electronically.

Please, don’t let them forget about deporting all the illegal aliens and revoking the “citizenship” of their illegal children. That alone will save American taxpayers billions of dollars. Man and secure our borders. I’ll help, if necessary.

    • s c

Joyce, I’ve never heard anyone explain how shipping businesses and jobs overseas makes America “better.” The same people who champion that idea also demand that having MILLIONS of ILLEGALS here is ‘good for the country.’ In effect, that method justifies insanity, a steady stream of career criminals in Washington, greed on steroids, and amounts to at least TWO forms of wealth redistribution (plus MILIONS of easy votes for career criminals).
Businesses and jobs that go overseas DO NOT return,
Joyce. And, we’re stuck with a prez and an AG who think having MILLIONS of ILLEGALS makes America “better” and “safer.” [?????]
Oh, now I get it. We have a prez and an AG who don’t know the difference between a friend and an enemy. They think it makes sense to treat ILLEGALS and potential terrorists like friends, and treat American citizens like dirt. NOW I get it.
Is insanity contagious? It sure seems that way. Correct if me if I’m wrong, but the solution is to clean house in Washington, and IF they don’t like it, throw them into the nearest prison(s) – and for a while, resist the temptation to put the traitors in front of a firing squad (yes, BOTH parties).

      • 45caliber

“Enemies” to Oblama and friends means someone who disagrees with them. People who want to destory our country are simply troublesome and can be ignored since they don’t really bother the politicians.

But if they can attract illegals, then hopefully the illegals will replace all the former Democrats who have wised up about their agenda – total control. Who cares if the Americans don’t have jobs? If they don’t agree with Oblama they don’t deserve them anyway. Right? Right!

    • DaveH

      Joyce,
While I certainly don’t condone illegal immigration, the issue is just a distraction. It isn’t the illegals that are causing our bad economy. It is the Big Government not only wasting our financial resources directly through spending, but also decreasing our productivity with byzantine regulations. If certain business practices are deemed immoral, then they should simply pass laws and let the courts deal with the law breakers. Otherwise they need to butt out of business practices.
Big Government is like a magician distracting us with irrelevant issues while they do their dirty work. We need to ignore the distractions and focus on the real problem – too damn much Government.

      • DaveH

Why the White House is turning slightly pink: Obama appoints more openly gay officials than any other U.S. president

    By Mail Foreign Service

Boost: The gay and lesbian community are among President Obama’s strongest supporters

President Barack Obama has appointed more openly gay officials than any other president in U.S. history, it has been revealed.

Gay activists say the estimate of more than 150 appointments so far surpasses the previous high of about 140 reached during two full terms under President Bill Clinton.

      • Jana

        Angel,
I am sorry, but I think Joyce has a point here. Someon being a homo is none of my business, and doesn’t bother me as long as they don’t try to FORCE me to say its ok, because it is not. It doesn’t bother me what a person chooses to do in the privacy of their own home, but when they go out and make a spectacle of themselves, and have it go into the class room for young children to see and and try to teach them that this is an alternative lifestyle when they don’t even understand what is being talked about, it is wrong.
The WH has an agenda. A gay agenda as well as a Socialist agenda. The gays are wanting to change the law so that we must all embrace homosexuality. They are even trying to take out the don’t tell aspect of this in the military and this is wrong. Leave it alone and don’t try to force us to shut up about it, because this forces us who don’t agree to have to speak up against it. This is what the politically correct have done and are trying to do now, and we are still free to voice our opinion.
Joyce was voicing her opinion and she had four people jump down her throat and she wasn’t wrong.
The Bible states that this is wrong. It is not the unforgiveable sin, but it is sin in God’s eyes and I cannot condone it. I will not down it as long as it is not thrown in my face. Nor will I ever embrace this lifestyle.

Cheap shots are the stock in trade with such people and are intended to inflame, not illuminate.

    • s c

Bitter, they’re not clueless when it comes to the Constitution. American and foreign puppet masters
have their hands on their ‘short and curlies,’ and they know what will happen if they suddenly develop a spine or if they start to act like leaders instead of overpaid shills and in-house traitors.
What we see is anything but ignorance. It is TOTAL CONTROL of America’s ‘leadership.’ And a big chunk of that control flows from and through the Fed.

    • DaveH

And why wouldn’t they? It is the natural inclination of leaders to grow their power. And they will do so as long as we are willing to look the other way. It is up to the citizens to force them to comply with the intent of the Constitution. We may need to put up an Amendment to change the “Welfare Clause”, and the “Interstate Commerce Clause” so both are very clear as to their intent. So that even the Liberals can’t twist and change their meanings.

      • vicki

        DaveH writes:
“And why wouldn’t they? It is the natural inclination of leaders to grow their power.”

Actually it is the natural inclination of Tyrants to grow their power. The natural inclination of leaders is to lead.

Tyrants dictate the way. Leaders show the way.

DaveH:”We may need to put up an Amendment to change the “Welfare Clause”, and the “Interstate Commerce Clause” so both are very clear as to their intent. So that even the Liberals can’t twist and change their meanings.”

      Norma,
The only way that can happen is if we allow them to continue to take God out of our country and vocabulary.
We have our history lessons in the Bible where the Israelites over and over started worshipping false gods and we see where God took His hand off of them and they became a defeated people even going into captivity by other nations.
God intends for us to stand up for Him, and His Truths. There are a lot of us out here praying for God’s blessings on our Country, and we can see where He has blessed us, but He also allowed us some reminders like Harry Reid. Actually, God gives us the freedom to love Him and honor Him, and we see the states that don’t. These are the same states that are in trouble and have voted Democract.

Step #1; Nov. 2 is over the work needs to start on the next baby steps. What’s on top of my mind is Champaign finance reform and now voter fraud or intimidation. Tell me how in my state of IL that every county can support a Republican candidate for governor by 55% to 40%, and Chicago/Cook county is the only 1 that supports the Democrat by close to 80% and they lose. Thank goodness that the support was a bit less for our new Senator Kirk, 77% or he might have lost. This just smells of some sort of tampering or intimidation, this needs to be looked into, I could live with 60% maybe even 65%, by looking at the demographics. If you look at all elections over the years the story is very similar its as if the %’s always stay the same. Someone needs to look into this especially when the unions and Chicago democratic machine services the voting equipment, hum!

It totals 20!__The Number one cause of shut downs were (1) Tax, Regulation & EPA (2)Unions, 5 companies gave the option, of either they cut costs or they shut down!_-The union refused to co-operate in these cases (3)Owner deaths and mismanagement!

Oh and there is this very nice (for GM) tax credit to help them “pay” their tarp loan.

          http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/taxes/gm-to-get-45-billion-tax-break-thanks-to-bailout/19700767/

          • Craig

That tax credit is just a ploy to make GM seem more profitable to the IPO coming soon.

          • vicki

I know. I am pointing out that the claim that GM is / has paid back the tarp money so Obama Policies are a success are fraudulent claims.

BBJ, tax cuts__if they let the Bush tax cuts expire, taxes will go up___If they vote to re-instate the tax cuts, things will stay the same___ not go down?!

      • BigBadJohn

you state the obvious – republicans are already talking about a NEW ROUND of tax cuts – that will only add to the debt. Just like GWB 400 billion tax cut added 400 billion to the deficit.

        • Angel Wannabe

BBJ, and do you think they’re gonna get more tax money outta us???My God the newly applied for unemployment numbers just came out this morning, there’s another 457,000 to add to the jobless claims!and the friggin Liberal economist says that Obama brought us back from the brink__Yeah RIIIIIght!!!___Some body’s gonna be hurtin for certain!__It matters not where they stop this spending, something somewhere in entitlements are gonna have to be cut and it’s gonna hurt!

        • Vigilant

          BBJ:

You said, “you state the obvious – republicans are already talking about a NEW ROUND of tax cuts – that will only add to the debt. Just like GWB 400 billion tax cut added 400 billion to the deficit.”

You are defeated by your own logic. You earlier said “cut spending – OK,” so what do you expect new taxes to accomplish, besides further weakening the economy? Moreover, you use the long disproven, shopworn argument that cutting taxes adds to the deficit. Every time taxes have been cut, the economy has flourished and more money has come into the Treasury. When Reagan did it, and put true business incentives in place, we entered into the LONGEST, MOST SUSTAINED PERIOD OF PROSPERITY IN AMERICAN HISTORY!

Your sour grapes goes nowhwere. The American people voted the other night to reduce taxes and shrink government, or perhaps you weren’t watching.

          • Robert Smith

            Hi Vigiland,

You posted: “Every time taxes have been cut, the economy has flourished and more money has come into the Treasury.”

Yup, for the common folks, THOSE OF US WHO MAKE LESS THAN A Quarter Million a year.

Give the guys at the top tax cuts and they use to play money games to get more without producing anything. From that the economy went into the tank.

I didn’t see my taxes go down any under the Bush years.

            Rob

          • Angel Wannabe

Robert, quite frankly I’m 54 and I haven’t seen ANY TAX GO DOWN ANYWHERE!!!__ We’ve built and lived in our home since 1976. Our school tax was $800.00 alone!_it’s now, $3800 alone!

          • Vigilant

            Rob,

Did you really say, “I didn’t see my taxes go down any under the Bush years?”

Well, if that’s the case, I guess all the talk about “extending the Bush tax cits” is a conversation about something that never happened, huh?

    • DaveH

      BigBad,
You’re right about the spending, but by your own link, you can see that the spending and the number of projects started rising in 2007 when the Democrats controlled Congress.

      • BigBadJohn

The way I read the charts:

Pork hit it’s peak in 2005 at 13,000 projects, under the republicans.

It dropped to 2600 in 2007 pardon my poor math but that sounds like a 75% CUT in pork.

In 2008 the democrats ran it up to 11,600 ALMOST as bad as the republicans. This is the biggest problem with stimulus money, by definition it is pork.

Kind of makes you wonder what the republicans were spending all of that pork on doesn’t it? There were no stimulus packages going at that time……

        http://membership.cagw.org/site/PageServer?pagename=reports_porkbarrelreport

      • BigBadJohn

The 2005 Congressional Pig Book is the latest installment of Citizens Against Government Waste’s (CAGW) 15-year exposé of pork-barrel spending. This year’s list includes $3,270,000 for the Capitol Visitor Center; $100,000 for the Tiger Woods Foundation; and $75,000 for Onondaga County for the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame.

Once again, Congress porked out at record levels. For fiscal 2005, appropriators stuffed 13,997 projects into the 13 appropriations bills, an increase of 31 percent over last year’s total of 10,656. In the last two years, the total number of projects has increased by 49.5 percent. The cost of these projects in fiscal 2005 was $27.3 billion, or 19 percent more than last year’s total of $22.9 billion. In fact, the total cost of pork has increased by 21 percent since fiscal 2003. Total pork identified by CAGW since 1991 adds up to $212 billion.

The top three increases in pork from fiscal 2004 to fiscal 2005 were: Homeland Security from $423 million to $1.72 billion (306 percent); Energy and Water from $714 million to $1.88 billion (163 percent); and Labor/HHS from $943 million to $1.7 billion (80 percent).

Alaska again led the nation with $985 per capita ($646 million), or 30 times the national pork average of $33. The runners up were the District of Columbia with $461 per capita ($257 million) and Hawaii with $454 per capita ($574 million). Senators have once again proven that membership has its privileges: your money.

A disaster created by obama to destroy the American dream.

      • Jana

Thats right Big Bad, so open your eyes.

        • BigBadJohn

Jana, my eyes have always been open, I am just skeptical of BOTH sides of the isle. Unlike most here who believe what republicans say is the truth, and are critical of everything the other side says.

FACT the “new GOP” will not be able to make enough cuts to make a much of a dent – even if they actually wanted to.
Any new tax cuts are going to go straight to the national debt and the economy will continue its fall and there will be QE3, QE4.

Let’s not lose site of who’s idea it was to print our way out of debt – Richard Nixon, who took us off the gold standard in the first place.

          • Jana

            Dr. Mabuse,
You are right in that the new GOP will not be able to make enough cuts to make much of a dent as we have an idiot in the WH that thinks he can spend our way out of our problems and he still does control the agenda. Still however they need to force his and the Democrats hand by making them show their colors in denying to cut spending, denying to kill the stupid health care bill, denying to stop the bailouts. Then hopefully the people will realize who the real party of NO is. The real party of NO stands for killing American incentives, and destroying our Consitution, and damaging our country in its standing in the world, all of which has happened since Obama and the Democrats had their way.
In times past, to be a Democrat was a good thing, now, to be a Democrat means you stand for Socialism and Communism.

          • Jana

    Slouching by Ben Crystal

    1. Cut spending. Check that — axe-murder spending.
    Don’t “rein in wasteful outlays.”
Start with something worthwhile and visible, such as taxpayer
    funding for National Public Radio.
How about axe grinding left – right paradigm sophistry.
Don’t “rein in wasteful outlays?” This guy is delusional, case in
point… Its been nine years since 2.3 TRILLION dollars have come
up missing from the Pentagon. (gone… vanished… off book)
Rumsfeld called it a matter of life and death. No one on either
side of the pig trough had the balls to hold anyone accountable
for this fiscal outrage. Note: this looting is just in the DOD,
how much money has been wasted/stolen from the other Government
depts? Yet some pinheads keep running around yapping about out of
control spending. This is the pinnacle of hypocrisy. Where’s the
damn money? Quite possibly once its found it can be used to pay
down on the deficit… Ya think ?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kpWqdPMjmo

    2. Listen there’s gonna be the weeping and gnashing of teeth in the
outer darkness, but cutting or raising taxes isn’t the issue at
all. The whole questions of Taxes , i.e., tax rates, application
of the tax monies (I assume that most of you know that your
Federal taxes aren’t applied to the country’s infrastructure, but
instead its used to pay the INTEREST, not the Principal on the
National debt) needs to be re addressed (with a jaundiced eye
directed towards the Federal Reserve). Get my drift?

    3. “Drive a stake through Obamacare’s (and by inference Obama)undead
heart” I thought when you threaten the life of a sitting
President (wink wink) the Secret Service came and gaffled your
dumb ass up and then whisked you off to parts unknown.

I’m not gonna belabor the point, but Ben… take the stick out.

    • BigBadJohn

Thanks for pointing out just how much money the military WASTES. They need to be a target of cuts as well.

A Lot of the so called “truthers” claim that 2.3 trillion dollars was announced the day before 9/11 intentionally because the government knew that one day later it would be irrelevant.

      • Dr. Mabuse

There’s enough so called conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11 that most folks consider all of it as disinformation. Like the assasination
of JFK, the whole truth will probably never be revealed.
“Truthers”… “Teabaggers” etc. ad nauseum. In the end, the true American patriots will be treated as “Hostiles.”

      • Jana

        Dr. Mabuse,
I don’t know how my reply got above your post when I was answering your post, but it did so I am reposting it here.

        Dr. Mabuse,

Sorry, this reply was in the right spot, as I was replying to Big Bad John, just got in a hurry as I am leaving for work in a few minutes.
Work gets in the way of having fun and writing on blogs. But it sure helps in paying the bills. :)

      • Craig

Truthers?? You listen to them nut jobs? Man are you missing a few brick upstairs.

    • meteorlady

There also a few trillion dollars missing that the Fed won’t or can’t tell us what happened. Most believe it went out of the country to shore up foreign banks. We need to audit the fed and find out just what they are up to. Now they are firing up the printing presses again to buy up more useless debt. That means the stock market will go up artificially and that our dollar is worse less AGAIN.

      Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies..
If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property – until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

      • Bitter Libertarian

First by Inflation = They Inflated the Housing/Mortgage market

Then By deflation = Now Mortgage values are higher the market values by as much as 50% and its not stopped!

The banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property – until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

        ITS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!!!!!!

      • Dr. Mabuse

        Good point MeteorLady…
Thomas Jefferson was directly on point.
If you get chance google Louis T. McFadden (Chairman of the House Banking Cmte. back in the day) and note his thoughts on the “Private Banks.”

        • DaveH

          Dr. Mabuse,
We have a choice with truly “private banks”. If we don’t like what they offer or how they conduct their business, we go to a competitor. Not so with the Federal Reserve which has the power to print our money. That mandated monopoly is what is causing our problems, in conjunction with Big Government of course.

          • Dr. Mabuse

            Point taken…
and you’re entirely correct about the monopoly…
and by the way the last “private bank” I dealt with was run by the mob.

      • eddie47d

So true about banks and other financial institutions and of course the FED.

        • Dan az

          Eddie
you just gave me a heart attack. We finally agree on something at last.

      • Barbara

Everybody keeps saying the FED, the FED. Has anyone bothered to investigate the 16th Amendment? With a specific examination of the ratification? The board of directors of the FED could also tell you a great deal about what is going on there. The FED is not American. It is a European bank. But keep in mind, the last one to try to rein them in was JFK. Does that tell you anything?

Cutting costs could be done by bringing our National Guard troops home. They are needed here and aren’t supposed to be out-country at all. But The O doesn’t want any of our troops in-country. Clearing the decks for another foreign attack? Maybe this is why he took so many people with him? The numbers don’t include the warships and planes wasting time defending his sorry a**.

        • Dr. Mabuse

We’ve looked at the 16th amendment, the Bullmoose party, the strange, almost homosexual relationship between Woodrow Wilson and Col. House.
The machinations of the Warburgs (Paul and Otto) under the direction of the Rothschilds. (The Fed Reserve Act was passed while most members of Congress were at home for the Christmas holidays)
The assaasinations of Louis T. McFadden and JFK. Despite all of these things we still have a bunch of misguided individuals who are well versed in superficial thinking, who are convinced that their way is the “right” way. The sad truth of the matter is that its way too late… Game over… America as we knew it, as we envisioned it, is gone… never to return. So buckle up and grab your azz ’cause before its donw with they’re gonna try to steal that too.

    • Robert Smith

Dr. says: “Start with something worthwhile and visible, such as taxpayer

Don’t allow the TAX FREE status for all that religious broadcasting either.

Come to Taxachusetts and open up a pre-school daycare nursery school. You can have fun brushing each child’s teeth every four hours and logging it into the record journal so that when the state inspectors come around you can show that you complied with the new law. I am joking about my “advice” to come to Taxachusetts. I am joking about my “advice” to start any kind of school or daycare in the modern nannystate. But I AM NOT JOKING about the new law. It exists.

    • newspooner

Afterthought: I forgot to check to see if the new law mandates fluoride toothpaste.

    • meteorlady

Ya and I noticed that they stayed the course with the Democrats in power. Sad… people just don’t get it. We can’t pay for everyone. We have some transplants from there where I live and they are still stanch Democrats. Won’t listen to any other point of view and are quite wealthy. But… when most of us are out doing volunteer work or spending time building Habitat houses, they are playing golf and tennis and taking trips. Guess it’s fine for the government to take my money so they can do what they do and not feel guilty.

    • DaveH

That would be okay if we could keep the Federal Government from bailing out their folly, as with California. States like California and Massachusetts should be left to suffer for their own mistakes. And the same goes for badly managed companies. We should not allow the Federal Government to bail out the misfits with the money of people who do the right things.

      • JeffH

DaveH, Jerry Brown’s platform consisted of…”No new taxes without voter approval” and “at this stage of my life I’m prepared to change.”

Brown winning tells me what I already new about this bankrupt state and their voters…all they can see are Rainbows and Unicorns…go figure! California stood a better chance of legalizing acid than pot, most of the residents are still trippin’.

        • DaveH

Bail that sinking ship, Jeff. We could use you here to bolster our numbers.

    • Robert Smith

I LIKE the idea of my kid getting basic health instructions. I also like the idea of kids who have parents who can’t afford dental care learning how to brush their teeth also.

BTW, you missed the part where parents can opt their kids out.

I for one think parents should embrace the regulations to protect their teeth of their children.

What else should little kids learn? Creationism comes to mind (not).

      Rob

      • DaveH

How about “mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Obama”?

        What they teach our children:

      • Craig

Why in the hell should we pay for schools to teach kids how to brush their teeth? That is the parts god damned job. If they cannot take responsibility to teach their kids something as simple as teeth brushing, take their kid away.

        • Craig

And if you are poor, you should not be allowed to have kids. That goes for stupid. We have allowed the stupids to breed and spread their stupid gene. That’s how we get liberals.

When it comes to main (lame) stream media, I have my own quiet method of rebellion. I merely boycott every sponsor they have. I may be only one voice, but I do have a couple of friends, and guess what, they have a couple of friends and at last count our little network of “friends” has grown into a pool of several thousand “racist, homophobic, gun totin’, bible readin’, islamaphobic, and any other despicable characterization you may want to attach, group who has all stopped buying from the sponsors of ABC CBS NBC and MSNBC “news” shows. As the sponsors spend millions of $, we all are expanding our “no buy” zones and watch their advertising $ swirl around the drain then sink from sight. Try It, you will be surprised how quickly you can build your own little group of boycotter’s.

    Wally Pieper

    • Jana

      Wally,
We also need to write these ‘sponsers’ and let them know why we are boycotting them.

    • eddie47d

Wally, FOX has many of the same sponsors and you are going to tell us you watch all these stations to find out who the advertisers are? You have way too much time on your hands. Fox certainly has good shows and a few rotten apples. I watch Beck once in a blue moon to see how he is pushing people over the edge. Sometimes he’s educational and other times he is extremely dangerous. There are 3 confirmed militants who attempted to do serious harm to others because of what they heard on Beck. So Fox doesn’t always bring out the best in people. No talking head on any station should advocate taking “matters” into their own hands.

      • DaveH

        Eddie,
Your misinformation is “extremely dangerous”. Yet you keep posting.

        • JeffH

          Thanks DaveH.

        • eddie47d

No misinformation Davey.Just because you say so doesn’t make it so.

      • http://none Mike

Eddie, I have to agree somewhat with you sometimes these folks on all types of media are so negitive it makes my head spin. There are ways of getting your opinion out without the sky is falling mentality. Beck sometimes is that way so when he goes on that sky is falling rant I usually start looking for coast to cost stations on the net. :) Yes I am one of thoes tinfoil wearing alien fearing ghost hunting goons I guess. But sometimes I just need a little break along the way. Else these people would have me looking for the nearest suicide booth(futurama style). And if I happen to pick up a few facts along the way all the better. That being said I dont let media alone be my only guide. You are looking at a person in me who has better than 2000 books in a personal library that covers just about everything under the sun. I avarage a book a day on a good week so that continues to grow when I can afford it. Mike L.

      • vicki

Tell us, Eddie47d, what is your opinion about Al Gore?
James J. Lee seemed to go off the deep end based on listening to him.

        http://oudaily.com/news/2010/sep/09/column-fears-domestic-terrorism-threaten-our-free-/

        • eddie47d

If this persons actions can be traced back to something Al Gore said then Al better tone his rhetoric down a notch. Glenn better tone his down about 3 notches.

      • Craig

” Sometimes he’s educational and other times he is extremely dangerous.”

This statement proves you are a liar, and never watch Beck.

        • eddie47d

When you call someone a liar be prepared to back it up with facts. I’m use to you’re extremist rantings so go take a hike. A Charles Wilson was arrested for making death threats against Patty Murray of Washington. He admitted it and his brother vouched that it was true. They watched Glenn Beck together and the one brother said Charles took Beck’s words to heart. “The more he watched the more violent he became in wanting to do something about it”.”he became uncontrollable”. I don’t know Craig, but is that why you are so off the wall in your attacks?

          • Jana

            eddie,
I listen to Beck occasionally, maybe once or twice a week. He is too much doom and gloom and fear. He is also in many ways a pascifist. My reasons for not watching him very often may differ from yours, but I can only take so much that makes me worry or be fearful. I don’t like being fearful. I am a realist and know we are far from ok in this country right now, and that we are getting ready to go through inflation, and I am preparing for it the best I can. But my faith is in the Lord, and I pray for wisdom and the ability to follow through with that wisdom.

          • Craig

Eddie you moron your own words about Beck prove you have never watched his show in your pathetic useless life.

    • Robert Smith

      Hi Wally,

You posted: “Try It, you will be surprised how quickly you can build your own little group of boycotter’s.”

Ford Motor Company was boycotted by several religious right zealots because Ford advertised in gay media. IOW, Ford was the only inclusive car business in America that catered to ALL Americans.

Guess what! Ford didn’t take any of the stimulous money and is doing just fine.

Ain’t it great when companies deal with ALL of America!

Well it appears everyone watches Katie Couric. How else would you know what she said or stood for? No wonder her ratings are through the roof. She does have plenty of variety on her show, and thats what I like.

I watch these people to see how rediculous they are and who sponsers these mixed up people.
Know your enemies. Anyone who claims we the people or TEA party people are mobs filled with hate, we need to watch them very carefully.

      • Karolyn

I have never heard anybody make any of those characterizations, and I watch ABC World News evey night. I see no bias there. When I can I watch Good Morning America and find it very informative, intelligent and certainly not biased.

        • DaveH

          Karolyn,
That is because they cater to your Hopes and Dreams. Intelligent Liberals can mask their propaganda so that it appears not to be such.
An example is many times when they report a shooting they put an image of a handgun or an assault rifle on the screen, when in fact the shooting was done with something other such as a shotgun or regular type of hunting rifle.
Or they might simple omit other sides of the argument, such as I’ve seen PBS do in relation to so-called campaign finance reform. The omissions were very important arguments that are well-known by those of us who really study the issues.
There are many subtle ways to propagandize people who won’t put the effort into real study of the issues.

          • Karolyn

He Dave, I’m no dummy; I am fully able to discern fact from propaganda. However, I do not see hidden agendas everywhere. I’m glad I don’ have to spend my time second-guessing every piece of news I see or hear.

          • DaveH

You keep saying that Karolyn (about your intelligence), yet you also keep touting certain MSM stations and PBS as being unbiased. But my experience says otherwise. Hmmmm.

          • Karolyn

          • Robert Smith

“Intelligent Liberals can mask their propaganda so that it appears not to be such.”

Although there are individual incidents where a “liberal” point is made, usually because they are so overwhelming on the correct for America side, the big business media in America is just that, BIG BUSINESS.

To believe that the Midea is liberal is to believe a lie.

            Rob

          • DaveH

            That is a lie, Robert.
To believe that certain Media outlets are Liberal requires only listening and an open-mind which Liberals claim to have but don’t demonstrate such.

          • Angel Wannabe

DaveH, PBS is one of soro’s stations!__I stopped watching them altogether!

          • Karolyn

Dave – I have a life to live and do research on a greata many things. As a multi-faceted, intelligent person, I have many more interests than just what goes on in politics or in this country for that matter. We are part of a whole called “Earth.” There is more to life than fixating on its problems. If there were less fixation, there would be less problems.

          • Jana

            Kaolyn,
If you have never heard the media call the us mobs etc, then you must have been busy at that time and missed it. They truly did, over and over and many times.
Maybe you don’t hear the agendas and I didn’t say hidden agendas becasue they aren’t hidden, but maybe you don’t hear these agenda because you believe in these very agendas. Karolyn thats ok. You have the right to believe any way you choose, I believe these agendas are bad for our country. I have the right to believe how I choose too.

          • Jana

            Robert,

If you don’t think the main stream media is liberal, then you have a problem. They call themselves liberals. So you would be calling them liars if you think otherwise.

      • Karolyn

I am so glad I don’t live my life looking for “enemies” and hidden agendas around every corner. It must be very tiring.

        • DaveH

No doubt. As the saying goes “Ignorance is Bliss”.

          • Karolyn

I see more than you think I see. I would rather not perpetuate it by dwelling on it.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            DaveH,
Karolyn believes if she ignores a problem long enough, if it is a liberal problem, it will go away!!! The only ones she focuses on are the problems that the conservatives make for the libbies!!

  • meteorlady

I think the election was great. I think that we re-elected some career people and that’s really sad. Pelosi, Boxer and Reid didn’t go and Patty Murry is hanging on (if they recount the democrats always win in Washington State). And worst of worst Governor Moonbeam is back in California! That state alone will end up bankrupting the rest of us. Maybe we should just kick them out of the union until they settle their debts.

Now I would like to see some real reform:

    1. No more lobbyists
    2. Equal time for all people running for an office.
    3. No one gets to spend anymore than $1 million on campaigning.
    4. If a campaign ad is wrong or lying, take if off the air – it’s false advertising.
    5. No more pork at all. Only one bill at a time and we need 30 days to read and study it before they vote on it.
    6. No more bailouts for private busiensses.

I also want to see our border secured, all illegals sent to where they came from and our immigration quota refined to accept only people that are educated and able to support themselves when they get here (I believe there are countries that do this now). I am tired of seeing villages of Somalis living in subsidized housing and living off us taxpayers, dealing only in cash, and having their own bankers. I am tired of illegals and legal immigrants coming to apply for work and wanting cash. I am tired of paying for their childrens’ education, health care, meals and weekend meals, to the detriment of my children and grandchildren.

Get the corrupt crooks out of there entirely and start down sizing the federal government (no more meddling in education, health or welfare) – it’s damaging to the American way of life.

    • 45caliber

I agree with everything you mentioned here. I think foreign aid should go, simply because we can’t buy friends. And probably half of foreign aid goes to enemies. I have no problem with emergencies like the earthquate in Haiti but … why should we STILL be paying to support them? It’s been almost a year – some of them should have been able to do something for themselves by now.

And why is the government supporting ‘charities’ – particularly ones like ACORN (regardless of what its new name now is). These are supposed to be supported by individuals. Further, why is the government continually buying or seizing more land? All it does is sit once they take it – let’s have them actually SELL part of the land they own at market prices – not 10 cents on the dollar to themselves or a family member. It might even pay for some of the stuff they want.

      • BigBadJohn

“let’s have them actually SELL part of the land they own at market prices”

Big catch 22 there – AT MARKET PRICES. The way our government works, if they have a tract of 5000 acres to sell, and it is a piece of land that some campaign supporter wants, the auction would be rigged or simply not advertised, and that person would get it for pennies on the dollar.

        • 45caliber

Exactly. That’s why I said “at market prices”.

      • Robert Smith

” I have no problem with emergencies like the earthquate in Haiti…”

Really? But wouldn’t it be that there christian god’s will that they should suffer for some obscure reason we can’t figure out?

The Republicans now have a second chance to get things right both in Washington and for their party. If they actually step up to cut spending, getting rid of government agencies that have no real reason to exist, cutting taxes after they reduce the spending, etc. they can stay in power forever. And if they also stop pork spending and get rid of the illegals, they could expect to see the Democrat Party disappearing forever.

But they had to provide what WE want – not what they think they want.

  • eddie47d

The Democrats are not going to disappear Caliber. What kind of Monarchy are you wishing for? There are hidden messages in everything folks say and yours’ was a big one.The Republicans in Congress are not too popular and have a lower rating than Democrats in Congress. Should we wish that they disappear? What would be you’re suggestion for replacement or do you want a 1 party system?

    • Bitter Libertarian

Follow the money Eddie47d…both parties are well funded from identical sources….both parties further adjendas that strip freedom & Liberty from the American people…
WE ALREADY HAVE ONE PARTY…The sooner we all realize that the better.

    • Jana

      eddie,
It wouldn’t bother me a bit if both parties disappeard. We need people in office who are for America not just for their agendas.

      • DaveH

Political branding offers ease of understanding their platforms, Jana. Hopefully, if the individual candidates stray from that platform, the Party will discipline them or withhold support. Otherwise, it would take an immense amount of effort for each voter to understand what each representative stands for.
As an example, I noticed a Libertarian running in California who had a weak record on gun rights. So, I emailed the California Libertarian Party and chastized them for supporting such a candidate who would inevitably weaken our platform. Whether it had any impact, I don’t know, but if enough of us hold their feet to the fire is such cases, they will have to listen.

        • Dan az

Way to go DaveH Keep up the fight!Because I’m really depressed on the out come of the libertarians those numbers are so low that They all most dont exist.I think they all should petition that they have reb/libertarian put on the ballot so as not to lose any votes again!!!!

        • Jana

          Thank you DaveH.
I really know this, but I just needed to hear it again. Sometimes we get stuck in the wrong groove. You got me back on track.

    • 45caliber

      eddie:

If you get in a party – any party – that actually listens to the people and does what they want (not what the party itself wants) you will see all other parties disappear sooner or later. If the party actually listens and does as desired, then the rest cannot compete. The people will vote for the party that does what they want done.

      • vicki

Isn’t that how we got Democrats? People voted in the ones who would give them the money?

We NEED people who are honest and moral and will honor their oath and who actually understand the Constitution and its limits on what they can do for us.

The whole point of Constitutionally Limited Republic is that our forefathers KNEW that the people would use the tyranny of the majority (that would be a democracy) to vote in most anything that they fancied. Even a Republic without limits would do this as the representatives vie to remain in office (That would be the USA circa 2000 AD)

Our system of government works for a moral people. It is wholly insufficient for any other.

        The actual quote:
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” John Adams”

fast eddiot says “The Republicans in Congress are not too popular and have a lower rating than Democrats in Congress.”

#1 on the agenda, correct the illegal problem and close the border immediately. if you take a look at california, so goes the nation, if we don’t fix the illegal problem we have lost the country. this is probably what re-elected harry reid (the illegal vote) by way of the seiu. the illegals practically own califronia and you see what their vote can do along with the unions. if we don’t fix that nothing else matters, we will end up annexed to mexico.

bring the troops home, bring our manufacturing back, remove the unions from civil employment. we will probably lose the loan we granted to gm and their union. no more bailouts.
shut down the education and energy department.

the republicans in congress should elect new leaders and throw the rino’s out. then we can work on the fed resv.

Here is an interesting idea Lets put congerss to work repealing the laws on the books that are not being inforced, or are now irrelevant and unenforceable. Of course we need to do away with the Federal researve(privately owned bank).Repeal most of the IRS tax code which goes out of its way to make tax shelters for the wealthy. How about making everyone including corporations pay say ten percent of gross earnings. Debt problem solved in a couple of years.

    • 45caliber

I have no problem with Congress trying to get rid of old laws. However, I do have a problem with 10% of gross earnings tax – particularly on top of the tax I pay now. I don’t think I could stand the loss in take-home pay since I don’t think I could pay my bills. And what about those who get money but don’t work?

      • Dan az

        45
I don’t think that’s how it works. If you took home say a 1000 a week your tax would be 100 dollars a week no more no less the people that make allot more say 5000 a week would pay 500 a week and the big corporations would not have the write offs that they relied on to zero there taxes or pass on their tax to us.I think its fair an balanced even if your poor and only made min.wage This would get rid of the IRS and minimize big government.

    2008

The latest installment of Citizens Against Government Waste’s (CAGW) 18-year exposé of pork-barrel spending includes $3,000,000 for The First Tee; $1,950,000 for the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service; and $188,000 for the Lobster Institute in Maine.

In fiscal year 2008, Congress stuffed 11,610 projects (the second highest total ever) into the 12 appropriations bills worth $17.2 billion. The 11,610 projects represent a 337 percent increase over the 2,658 projects in fiscal year 2007. The $17.2 billion is a 30 percent increase over the fiscal year 2007 total of $13.2 billion. Only the Defense and Homeland Security bills included earmarks in fiscal year 2007, so comparisons of other bills are made between fiscal years 2008 and 2006. Total pork identified by CAGW since 1991 adds up to $271 billion.

Alaska led the nation with $556 per capita ($380 million). The runners up were Hawaii with $221 per capita ($283 million) and North Dakota with $208 per capita ($133 million).

The one glimmer of hope is that for the first time taxpayers were able to see, for the most part, which members requested which projects. Out of the 11,610 projects in the 2008 Pig Book there were 11,146 disclosed projects worth $13.8 billion and 464 undisclosed projects worth $3.4 billion.

  • da norseman

Getting rid of these progressive politicians was the most important thing and it means anyone who did not listen to their constituents regardless of party affiliation. Finally, we can get rid of one big thorn that has been prevalent over the last four years that has been the lifeblood for Obama over the last two, and that is Nancy Pelosi who will have to step down from the throne and accept some lesser role, which, I know, will not sit well with her or her comrades in both Washington and within her own district (they are probably scratching their heads in San Francisco and wondering why this happened after an overwhelming eighty percent reelected her without a clue about what the rest of the nation thinks of her).

A lot of these progressives are still stunned about the election outcome. Who knows? Perhaps they will start something like the Bolshevik Party – the progressives’ answer to the Tea Party, LOL.

    • JeffH

da norseman, they’ve already tried and failed…does the Coffee Party sound familiar, huge failure?

      da norseman,

The fact that “a lot of these progressives are still stunned about the election outcome” tells me just one thing: with an ever-rising crescendo of protest and vocal complaint shouted to the high heavens, it confirms that they really were (and still are) out of touch, tone deaf, and haughty in their claim that they know better than we how to run our lives. In short, they don’t get it.

Marco Rubio summed up the Republican victory pretty well:
“We make a great mistake if we believe that tonight these results are somehow an embrace of the Republican Party. What they are is a second chance.”

How right he is. Tuesday’s results send a clear message to both parties. The voters rejected the Obama agenda, and they also rejected elitist Washington. Business as usual is no longer acceptable.

Nazi Pelosi will continue to be a thorn, no matter what the results of the election…at least her mug shouldn’t be plastered all over the media for too much longer. Her delusions continue though.

Just look at her classless statement regarding the elections:

Pelosi: “Over the last four years, the Democratic Majority in the House took courageous action on behalf of America’s middle class to create jobs and save the country from the worst economic catastrophe since the Great Depression.

“Our Members and candidates ran remarkable campaigns led by the superb leadership of DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen.

“The outcome of the election does not diminish the work we have done for the American people. We must all strive to find common ground to support the middle class, create jobs, reduce the deficit and move our nation forward.”

What else can be said by this socialist witch??

    • chrome lined

The delusional moonbat cannot begin to fathom that gov’t has NO responsibility to create any jobs, yet they’ve created nothing but waste in employing more in gov’t jobs than ever in history. The gov’t cannot create anything except MISERY. They are a bunch of posers who think they have the power to rule over the Citizens, forgetting that their power comes from the governed. The gov’t cannot give anything to anyone that it first does not take from someone else. The clowns in gov’t create every problem we face, and then campaign on how they’ll fix the very problem they created, and no one seems to have figured this out on a large scale. Every trouble we face in this nation is due solely to gov’t intervention in the free market, waging economic war on the taxpayer by strapping the tax burden to property, and serving no one as an individual except themselves as pols. OUR JOB is to hold them accountable with faxes, letters, phone calls and visits on a 24/7 basis–our RESPONSIBILITY is to make them fear us! They need to know that we will remain vigilant going forward. Turn off the damn tv’s, quit being idle Americans, quit being residents and start being CITIZENS! Engage your neighbors, family, those you are in opposition to, show them the path to truth and self-reliance and personal sovereignty.

Yet, the news that propelled this increase was that the Federal Reserve is going to buy $600 Billion worth of Federal Debt (thus increasing the money supply by over 5%). So, of course the Dow is going to cost more now, because the dollar is going to be worth 5% less.

jana, I totally agree about Beck being a pacificist. Just about like Karolyn, who the reverse image of a Beck split tail. She beleives the no minded, jug eared, purple lipped pathological liar in Cheif, is so intellectual smarter than the non union ditch digger, shows what a pin head she is. Since she is going back to college on taxpayer’s dime, hope it is something that will create productivity. The queer, feely meely, worthless, phycological degreed that seems to vogue degree the last few years, well we can only hope. When most of the smurfs getting this degree, just need new batteries and a brain. But they are so understanding and plan to give terrorist more understand. Talking softly to them, will calm the pedophiles down, when a slug in the empty space between the eyes settles them down better than a neutering. Should send the idoits over to Iran and any muslim country, to get their intership done for a degree, and see how long they keep breathing. When you get upset with steady edee, just remember he said he is a ward of the federal government. As his family has been for decades, as a rez rover and a mother earthers who have their hands shoulder deep in the taxpayers money. Because being wards of the government, creates a victumlgy attitude. As it has for anyone that is a ward of the governemnt. Onumnutts, any minority, even land owners and farmers and ranchers, welfare rats, and illegals from any where. When taxpayers are the minority, which liberals and the NMCDUP just cann’t seem to get their wrapped around as a fact. The National Marxist Communist Democrat Union Party just will not and can not understand. When the statement ofg leave the earth alone and keep it natural, I think in the Bible, man was told to concur and use the land, so bring on the boring machine and earth moving equipment, level those damn hills out to put people living up on them and save the farm ground for crops and livestock. Keeps people doing honest sweat raising work, instead of the pusified feel good dreaming!

What foul, horrible, uncultured language i41 uses. He used the most profane word of them all in the modern lexicon, “work”. He should be banned from the internet. The w word is never to be used in polite talk. Instead, use “position” with “salary”.
