Senators Object To Bin Laden Film

Senators Object To Bin Laden Film
SPECIAL
“Zero Dark Thirty” chronicles the hunt for al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

WASHINGTON (UPI) — Three U.S. Senators said they are sending a letter to Sony Pictures to object to the use of fictitious interrogations in the film “Zero Dark Thirty.”

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, along with Senators John McCain and Carl Levin, said the film, which depicts the killing of Osama bin Laden, incorrectly links the use of torture with the mission.

The Hill said the letter asks Sony to state that the “role of torture was not based on facts.”

Feinstein, Levin and McCain said the CIA did not use tortuous interrogation techniques during the mission.

Feinstein told The Hill the movie’s connection of waterboarding and the discovery of bin Laden’s compound was “dangerous.”

But The Hill reported that some Republicans, including former Vice President Dick Cheney, argue techniques such as waterboarding and depriving prisoners of sleep were used in gathering information.

The Hill said debate over the film comes after the Senate Intelligence Committee’s completion of a report on interrogation tactics during the George W. Bush Administration.

The Senators said the report proves the ineffectiveness of waterboarding and other similar techniques.

Looks like the Government wants it to be a fantasy film like the Lincoln movie is.

It’s not just the film. They don’t have anything else to do in DC except pick their noses and tell each other how wonderful they are.

      • http://comcast the fisherman

You know picking your nose is not a bad idea,it is better then congress picking their butts and doing nothing

yep, this isn’t a documentary so they should let it be.waterboarding is knowen about worldwide now.maybe their worried that this movie will remind the audiance of how they screwed up when it came to what happened to the chopper we lost ,or how the gov’t didnt see that china and pakastan military are buddies(china picking up chopper remains)or how the crew and team didnt destroy any/all possible remains properly(thermite charges)who knows the reasoning behind such comments over a movie!lots of other reasons why they didnt want hollywood to do it, but didnt say a word on the tv version of it!maybe cause in this version Obama wasn’t made out to be the hero(as in tv version)it made me sick at how they had Obama as the central charactor(hero) in the movie, and we know the truth about that..i think the latter…maybe thats why they didnt even mention the tv version!

The politicians’ eagerness to have the movie changed shows there’s either something true about the movie they want to hide, or the media really has NOTHING to write about and are grasping at straws. Many movies have claimed to be fact when they contain little and nobody says a thing. Why is this one so important?

They object but for the wrong reason. OBL has been dead for years but, obozo needed something going into the election in case his idiot followers couldn’t steal the election for him. OBL had bad kidneys, so how did he get that need machine across the mountains on horse back since it was needed every other day in order to live. The U.S lame stream media will do anything the little hitler says and they are as stupid and blind as this egoist is. OBL always appeared in video and after Tora Bora, no more video’s, just voice tapes that can be faked. Wake up America, you got a little hitler just as evil as the first one only he has satan behind him and will destroy everything you believe in.

Didn,t binny Laden die in a hospital in Dec 2001?? We have to stop believing the media

    • The Pilot

You’re right, at least according to Fox News, the BBC, the Pakistan Observer and Al- Jazeera. They all reported that Spinny Laden died of kidney failure in December 2001. Apparently our lying President and our always untruthful CIA needed to keep Spinny’s image alive to worry people into accepting military action in the Middle East.
