Seahawks Fans Register As Earthquake
SEATTLE (UPI) — Washington state earthquake researchers said rowdy fans at a Seattle Seahawks game registered as a low-level quake.
John Vidale, a professor at the University of Washington and the director of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, said he and his staff monitored seismic activity during Monday night’s win over the New Orleans Saints from a recording station about a block away from CenturyLink Field, CNN reported Tuesday.
Vidale said the team recorded five seismic events during the game, with the most intense — measuring in the magnitude 1-to-2 range — taking place when Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett returned a fumble for a touchdown.
