Say, Uncle…

August 17, 2010 by

Say, Uncle…

When it comes to the left wing of American politics, I’m seldom surprised.  Any family which includes Nancy Pelosi and Bill Clinton—not to mention sideshow siblings like Moulitsas, Moore and Sheehan, along with creepy Uncle Barney Frank and wacky Gramps Soros, is going to create moments which stick out like the honest guy at a personal injury lawyers’ convention.

Last Thursday, as I perused the liberal hate speech site Dailykos.com, I ran across one of the Democrat talking-points memos they call “diaries” and stopped dead in my online tracks.  The title of the blog entry was: “GOP Uncle Tom misplays the race card.”

I pulled the proverbial handbrake and backed down the idiot expressway which is Dailykos to check if my eyes had deceived me.  A sensitive, caring and oh-so-much-smarter-than-the-rest-of-us liberal actually called a black man (in this case, Alan Keyes) an “Uncle Tom.”  I couldn’t have been more surprised if Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton announced they were quitting the shakedown racket and going to work as analysts for the Cato Institute.  The discussion which followed this blogospheric babble featured a debate over whether use of such repugnantly racist terminology was acceptable if the subject was someone liberals dislike.

I was unaware that question remained unsettled.  (The correct answer, for victims of teachers’ unions, is NO.)

Truth is, the modern Democrat Party isn’t unfamiliar with racism.  From Orville Faubus to the dearly departed former Klansman and Senator from West Virginia Bobby Byrd, the Democrat party has been playing racist politics for decades; horse-trading the overt racism of its more radicalized travelers for the subtle racism of affirmative action and avoidance of discussion when it comes to the outrages of William Jefferson, Maxine Waters and Charlie Rangel.  (Yes, Virginia, demanding a free pass for them because they’re black is still racism.)  What DOES represent a new development is the arrogant racism becoming more and more prevalent amongst white liberals.

In 1991, white liberal senators; led by Ted Kennedy (D-Chappaquiddick) conducted a confirmation hearing on Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas.  In a spectacular example of full-throated leftist hypocrisy, the Democrat Senators on the panel engaged in an assault which Thomas himself quite accurately described as “a high-tech lynching.”  I was a college student at the time, and I recall the on-campus opinions of the Democrats’ Senatorial mob included:

  • Amazement that our poli-sci professors (leftists  all) had clearly misled us about the poor nature and quality of the corpulent gasbags in the Senate.
  • Concern amongst the more easily duped students that their armpit hair was visible below the sleeves of “We Believe You Anita” t-shirts.
  • Trying to figure out how to make a drinking game out of guessing Ted Kennedy’s weight.  (well, it WAS college.)

What we were watching, although we didn’t know it at the time, was a watershed moment for the Left.  For the first time since they had failed to stop civil rights reform, white Democrats fired racist barbs at a black man—and got away with it.

From then on the pigs were out of the pen.  During the Clinton administration we were treated to executive brilliance like Bubba’s plan to curb juvenile crime with “midnight basketball”—brought to you by an administration whiter than an Arkansas hoedown.  During George W. Bush’s tenure in the White House, left-wing media pundits launched withering attacks on Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice—including Jeff Danziger and Ted Rall’s almost impossibly offensive cartoons.  Both Rall and Danzinger remain employed and are considered leading liberal intellectuals.

I wish I could comfort you by telling you that the wingnuts on Dailykos, legislative trash like the senatorial Democrats, and mewling filth like Rall and Danziger represent the far left fringe of today’s Democrat Party.

But they don’t.  These days, the lunatics are running the DNC asylum.  The Tea Party is racist, says the NAACP.  But the NAACP’s support for blacks who murder white police officers isn’t.  Proponents of SB1070 are racist, but the New Black Panther Party isn’t.  What they’re missing is that racism is a two-way street—albeit one which dead ends in both directions.

To be fair, there ARE bigots in the conservative family tree.  But they’re the type of relatives we only see on major holidays—and they have to sit at the kids’ table.  The liberals are letting theirs carve the roast.

Messages for the inmates at Dailykos.com: A Ms. Beecher Stowe called.  She sounded upset.

Also, the cleaner called: Your hoods are ready.

Here we go again…Ben Crystal is trying to rewite history and twist facts in an almost clever way. “for the first time since they had failed to stop civil rights reform, white Democrats fired racist barbs at a Black man….”

Now, Ben Crystal knows how ridiculous his comment is,but he is trying to play politics w/ the facts. It was Democrats in general, w/ leadership from JFK and Bobby Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, who led the fight for civil rights for Blacks…probably ALL the Blacks fighting for their rights were Democrats…Martin Luther King especially. Many white Democrats went down to the South to help and march and protest.

The “white Democrats” that Ben Crystal is talking about were some of the Southern Democrats who were essentially Republicans in their belief and did fight reform and were mostly racist…they left the Democratic party over the civil rights battle and joined….? which party did they join??? oh yeah, the great Republican party!! And, thy’re still there in spirit.

The rest of the article is equally wrong, but people should be aware when a writer stoops to rewriting history…shameful!

          • Coservative at Birth

Typical Left Wing Propaganda. The Civil Rights Act only passed because of the Republicans in the Senate and the House. Check the records Bubba.

          • Stanb

You better go back in history, the dems play the race card everyday, and then say OH its those racist Repubs, Crystal is right on the money I would say your a progressive radical marxist like pea brain OMMUAMAO you dems better wake up before Mr. KING in the WH destroys all of the USA…VERY SAD, when you vote for a communist in our WH..shame on all of you. and no I’m not a repub or dem, I’m a patriot AMERICAN that served in the USAF for 8 yrs to keep our freedom safe from the very thing thats happening from within our own country by stupid dems and repubs and a commie President, and no I didn’t vote for him, I checked his back ground first like all of you idiots should have done…In NOV if you don’t vote them out then your going to get what you deserve…What you sow, you reap, put that in your pipe and smoke it, instead of WEED, maybe you’ll wake up and fly RIGHT….

          • http://yoal chick

don’t let these people make you mad.. just don’t read thair stuff,,was going to say s##@ but you get the message

          • Denniso

There actually used to be progressive Republicans, remember? And those liberal republicans who supported civil rights for Black Americans in the 60′s would now be called ‘rinos’,as you people so cleverly have named them, and they were drummed out of the party when Reagan,Gingrich and Delay took over. You extremist Repubs are still chasing those sort of Repubs out of your party in your quest for some absurd and ‘pure’ conservatives. The few remaining are in trouble w/ the Repub party and you zealots…Olympia Snow, Susan Collins…

But even as you continue your ‘purification’ of your smaller and smaller, and whiter party, you still feel the need to pretend that you stand for something like civil rights, even as every one of you fights against the latest civil rights battle…gay rights….you people are hypocrites, opportunists and ignorant of real history.

          • Bob

Al Gores father voted against it.

          • kate8

Nice try, Denniso. You have bought into the liberal revisionist history indoctrination. Try doing some independent research.

JFK and the dems were opposed to the civil rights movement until he made a deal with MLK Sr. to get MLK Jr. out of jail with the promise that MLK would deliver the black vote. Prior to that, the Kings and all the blacks were Republicans, and it was they who were started the civil rights movement.

As usual, as the dems had their man in office, they saw an opportunity to take a cause they found distasteful and turn it to their advantage.

And they are still doing it today.

Lies, lies and more lies. Useful idiots all.

          • DaveH

As usual, Dumniso doesn’t have a clue, but he still attacks as if he does:
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964

Vote on the Bill in the Senate:
            Democratic Party: 46-21 (69%–31%)
            Republican Party: 27-6 (82%–18%)

Final passage of Bill in the House:
            Democratic Party: 153-91 (63%–37%)
            Republican Party: 136-35 (80%–20%)

          • DaveH

The funny thing here is that when a conservative like Ben speaks, I wouldn’t bother to check because I’ve rarely seen a conservative commentator fabricate facts. But when a Liberal like Dumniso says something contrary, I know that it is just a matter of looking up the information, because their “facts” are almost always fabricated.

          • Denniso

Can the right wingers name a Repub president who has pushed civil rights for any minority?

And who was prez in ’64 when the civil rights act was pushed and passed…LBJ by any chance? A Democrat?

DaveH’s numbers only reflect what I said…Southern Democrats fought civil rights for Blacks and left the party over it. They were more Repub than Dem anyway. If JFK and LBJ and RFK and other prominent Dems hadn’t fought and forced civil rights then it wouldn’t have happened. DaveH also forgets that back in ’64 there were liberal Repubs who voted for civil rights for all…they’ve been forced out of the party in the past 30 yrs.

We all know the derisive term used by the rightwingers against moderate Repubs…RINO.

            Republicans and Civil Rights
            Diane Alden
            Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002

As a matter of fact, the record shows that since 1933 Republicans had a more positive record on civil rights than the Democrats.

In the 26 major civil rights votes after 1933, a majority of Democrats opposed civil rights legislation in over 80 percent of the votes. By contrast, the Republican majority favored civil rights in over 96 percent of the votes.

            http://www.congresslink.org/civil/essay.html http://www.yale.edu/ynhti/curriculum/units/1982/3/82.03.04.x.html

What does the record say about Republicans and the battle for civil rights and specifically for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Public Law 88-352)?

Since Abraham Lincoln, Republicans have been there for blacks when it counted. Nevertheless, Democrats invariably take all the credit for the success of the civil rights movement and invariably fail to give any credit to Republicans.

Harry Truman ordered the integration of the military. However, his Republican opponent in the election of 1948, Tom Dewey, was just as strong a proponent for that effort as any Democrat.

          • eddie47d

Dave H.;On the Civil Rights bill you left out the fact that 100% of Southern Republicans in House and Senate voted against it. 93% of Southern Democrats in House and 95% of Senate voted against it.All these Conservatives voted against this bill. The rest of the country voted for this bill by a wide margine. That would be Liberals and Rinos.

          • Denniso

If Lincoln was alive today he wouldn’t be in the modern Repub party…if he were, the extremist Repubs and tea party would run him out as a RINO…not conservative enough for the new fanatical Repubs.

        • http://yoal chick

          • http://?? Joe H.

            chick,
I was a “smart” one. I only walked down a flight line about a mile with two of them, walked back and then carried a 1500 rnd ammo can the same mile then carried another one to my ship each morning for flight duty in nam for eighteen months!! I figured better to fly over it than walk through it!! Then I heard a crewchief had a life expectancy of 36 days!!!

Its called the Marxist-Progressive Liberal agenda. Destroy the family, christians, morals, and America, then replace with dictator led socialism or communist state.

      • Denniso

I wonder how you explain the fact that Obama and his liberals bailed out some of the largest corporations in the world? In your delusional mind I guess you think he’s trying to save capitalism so he can have something to be dictator of? You people are astounding in your ignorance and paranoia, and your willingness to be led like sheep by your masters…the wealthy ‘conservatives’ and corporations who use you like canon fodder in the war to keep gov’t away from their extreme wealth, all the while most of you live meanial lives waiting for your pot of gold at the end of the mythological ‘conservative’ rainbow. Sad….

        • s c

D, like all progressives, you never know when to shut up. Herr Obummer bailed out those corporations because HE”S IN BED WITH THEM, dude. In particular, Herr Obummer is in bed with BP. There is a dicey connection that Herr Obummer can’t afford to let out of the bag for now. When it escapes, I’d really like to see the horrified look on your mug. Remember, Herr Obummer belongs to YOU. I’m wondering how long it will take for you to know if you ‘own’ him, or if he ‘owns’ you. Enjoy the trip, chum. Half the fun is in ‘getting there.’

          • denniso

sc…of course, you could ‘shut up’ at any point in time and no one would notice since you say nothing w/ any substance at all. You’ve just done it again…mindless comments from a mental midget…no offence to small people intended, only to mental dwarfs.

          • kate8

Denniso, sc is right on the money and, most likely, you know it. You are just a paid hack on this site, so you have to spew your idiocy.

You just continue with derision toward someone who makes substantive comments, because you can’t back your position up with any.

The more you post here, the bigger fool you make of yourself.

            denniso,

          • http://?? Joe H.

            dennislobber,
yeah, he bailed them out, but proven by Ford, he didn’t have to afterall!! GM, Chrysler, or Ford. which one showed a profit first after the bailout?? FORD who didn’t take the money!!!!

        • Jeep

Wait a minute you psycho…soooo, your messiah bailed out corporations to the tune of millions, (remember, that you always say he’s for the “little guy”), and yet conservatives are waiting for that “pot of gold”? Interesting…soooo, your messiah GAVE the “pot of gold” away to our corporate masters. Well, don’t that just beat all! Ummm, so why do you still worship him?

          • Bob

Without Republican votes it wouldn’t have passed. Remember they voted against it the first time and it failed. Before you call me a progressive let me tell you I despise all politicians. I know SC is obsessed with that word.

          • Jeep

Whatever Bob…if you own it, then claim it. Try not to play both sides, and then throw the innocent look my way, because I am not buying it.

        • DaveH

I would excuse you for your ignorance, Dumniso, if you weren’t such a rabid name-calling manipulative Liberal. Obama is saving capitalism by bailing out the failing companies? Hardly, that will destroy capitalism. The whole idea of Free Markets is to weed out the non-producers and reward the producers by consumers voting with their wallets. It is the typical Socialist approach to politicize the marketplace, so that all losers need do is contribute to the correct politicians and they will be rewarded, damn the consumers.

          • DaveH

If you are a “paid hack”, as Kate posited, your employers are wasting their money.

          • kate8

            Oh, eyes-back so soon?

DaveH is too ignorant of real world economics to waste time on. He’s spent too much time wasted on people like Ayn Rand(hack novelist, adulterer) and Miltie Friedman(pie in the sky economist dreamer).

Try looking at the real world and human markets and foibles.

      • Carole Howell

Joe H. The real definition of small business is not anywhere near your idea.

        Industry Group Size Standard
        Manufacturing 500 Employees
        Wholesale Trade 100 Employees
        Agriculture $750,000
        Retail Trade $6 million
General & Heavy Construction (except Dredging) $28.5 million
        Dredging $17 million
        Special Trade Contractors $12 million
Travel Agencies $3 million (commissions & other income)
Business and Personal Services $6 million
        Except:

        * Architectural, Engineering, Surveying, and Mapping Services

        $4 million

        * Dry Cleaning and Carpet Cleaning Services

        $4 million

If the size of a business exceeds the size standard for its overall industry group, it may still be a small business for the specific NAICS industry in that group. Some industries have higher size standards than the general one for the industry group.

        Freedom fighter,
Actually it is the progressives that push very hard for reforms that would be supportive of families, and small Businesses, and making higher education be more affordable.

        Joe H,
Small businesses have generated 64% of all new jobs over the last 15 years, have created more than half of the non farm private gross domestic product (GDP)

Small business hires 40% of all high tech workers, scientists, engineers, and computer programmers. So do not sell small business short.

      • Carole Howell

        Freedom Fighter,

        Try this on for size…..

I doubt all those Fox news patriots know that the same News Corp that’s owned by a Wahhabist Saudi prince just donated a million dollars to the Republican party. Of course they’ll never find out because the only network they watch is the same terrorist funded network that’s doing it.

This Saudi Prince is one of the richest men in the world and after Rupert Murdock is the 2nd largest owner of the Fox network.

He gave a million dollars to the GOP. How do you feel about that?

        • Brad

          Carole,

Okay, no one is dicounting the fact a Suadi Prince holds less than 10% of stock in News Corp the parent company of Fox News!

To set the record strait, News Corp donated $1 Million to the RGA, Republican Governors Association, lady you need to get your facts strait before posting. the truth is this, The Republicans’ biggest corporate donor was New York-based News Corp. Teri Everett, a spokeswoman, said the company “actively supports organizations that advocate a pro-job, low tax, economic growth agenda.”

Because of what Uncle Scam is, he attracts a most perverse blend of abusers, retards who want to be seen as ‘elites,’ liars, criminals and upper-level scum who act as go-betweens for puppet masters. The party that bills itself as the enlightened, morally superior and somehow omniscient (yet thoroughly anal retentive) ‘social justice party’ has no use for God, morality or those who refuse to line up to bend over and smile.
Americans have had more than enough, and future events will make TV soap operas seem like historical facts. America’s ‘leaders’ have put together a perfect storm. Much more than masks will be ripped off, as Washington rats run for cover.
It might even be enough for CSPAN-like networks to convert to objective journalism and repudiate those who claim to love free speech while they covertly plan to destroy it.

Doc, Finish reading the article, It admits there is also bigotry in conservative areas, the point is the Dem.s aren’t the enlightened, color blind people they claim to be.

Doc, Ben gave examples of Dem. bigotry, give some valid examples of your own. Don’t just say “Come on!”

          • Doc Sarvis

Okay, this is from uspoliticsonline.com and it is just focused on one aspect of unethical behavior. And there was a similar list of Democrats (though shorter)but you asked for this side of the argument:
These are the people preaching “moral values,” God, and so on.
·Republican County Constable Larry Dale Floyd was arrested on suspicion of soliciting sex with an 8-year old girl. Floyd has repeatedly won elections for Denton County, Texas, constable.
·Republican judge Mark Pazuhanich pleaded no contest to fondling a 10-year old girl and was sentenced to 10 years probation.
·Republican Party leader Bobby Stumbo was arrested for having sex with a 5-year old boy.
·Republican campaign worker Mark Seidensticker is a convicted child molester.
·Republican Mayor Philip Giordano is serving a 37-year sentence in federal prison for sexually abusing 8- and 10-year old girls.
·Republican Mayor John Gosek was arrested on charges of soliciting sex from two 15-year old girls.
·Republican County Commissioner David Swartz pleaded guilty to molesting two girls under the age of 11 and was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
·Republican legislator Edison Misla Aldarondo was sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping his daughter between the ages of 9 and 17.
·Republican Committeeman John R. Curtain was charged with molesting a teenage boy and unlawful sexual contact with a minor.
·Republican anti-abortion activist Howard Scott Heldreth is a convicted child rapist in Florida.
·Republican zoning supervisor, Boy Scout leader and Lutheran church president Dennis L. Rader pleaded guilty to performing a sexual act on an 11-year old girl he murdered.
·Republican anti-abortion activist Nicholas Morency pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography on his computer and offering a bounty to anybody who murders an abortion doctor.

Doc, Sex offenses are abhorrent, I agree, Now some examples of bigotry? And where did you get the idea that Rumsfeld authorized the rape of Iraqi children? Proof?

          • Doc Sarvis
          • American Citizen

This just goes to prove men sit on their brains and that includes all political parties and other jobs and/or vocations. But where are the incidences of racism?

          • eddie47d

DAN AZ. Makes you proud of all the conservative scoundrels that Doc Sarvis mentioned doesn’t it and believe me there are plenty more.I’m sure these “honorable” folks were trashed on Fox News like you do to liberals who have done less. Ben Crystal=fair and balanced, not in your lifetime. You lowered yourself to pond scum a long time ago. Republicans have their own carnival show so bring it on Ben and Company.

          • DaveH

The other is that if your list indicates Republicans are bad, then what say you about this statistic:
the percentage of prisoners who are black is four times that of the percentage of blacks in the U.S. population (49 percent to 12 percent)?

I can’t believe there is corruption here in NJ. Don’t forget last years arrest of 44 for taking bribes. One Mayor was in office only a month. He was a quick learner. Most were Dems.

As Government Grows, Corruption Flows. Just ask Mexican citizens.

          • Claire

Brad–This is a great post. Most of it I already knew about. Now you can post another regarding the Republicans. We have to be fair about this. Both sides have their share of unethical politicians.

          • Claire

Brad–Someone has already posted the Republican escapades further above.

I hope you dont take this in the wrong way but this just proves a point that on both sides of the Isle there is corruption and this is what we have been saying the whole time. Its time to take out the garbage and put back true human beings that not only believe in the constitution word for word but who believes in the laws of God too.
I know that you will probably have some smart azz remark for a come back so I’ll say it now YOUR WRONG FAST EDDIE!!!!

There are people of questionable morals across the board. Power tends to breed an attitude of sexual entitlement.

When it comes to crimes of theft, treachery and treason against the people of America, however, the democrats excel by far.

    • Robin from Arcadia, IN

Doc Sarvis… You are on a conservative site. You aren’t going to find much conservative bashing here. As long as you have been posting, you should know that. …. Or did you just forget?

      • s c

Robin, DS is running scared. He added that bilge to the mix because he knows his side is falling apart. He didn’t submit it to UNITE us, he did it out of spite. One thing I’d like to know, though. If his info is so detailed and so relevant, how is it that America’s MEDIA WHORES, in their pristine ‘wisdom’ and ‘objective’ skills, didn’t make it a habit by INFORMING America?
DS ‘doth protest too much.’ He also sucketh.

          • Coservative at Birth

Why are you on a Conservative site? I would like to see a detailed factual report of the ALLEGATIONS made by D.S. When the appropriate information is posted by you left wink kooks, who want to paint all conservatives in another color, I will consider your posts inteligent.

          • alpha-lemming

This kind of sickness knows no party affiliation. And there was a good cross sections of clergy, law enforcement etc. so I think you could say it is also “color blind” as to upbringing, income, race etc..

The one little caveat you could interject here is…. if there’s a D after your name… you can claim you’re in NAMBLA and the ACLU will offer free defense counsel because your “rights/choices” are being infringed upon by haters. Presto-change-o… your perversion is now Constitutionally protected!!

THAT’S the difference between the parties!!

          • Bob

This is not a conservative site. It’s a Republican site.

          • eddie47d

Conservative by birth; Many posts on here by Conservatives turn out to be false. You paint liberals “in another color” so accept the facts or opinions on both sides and be an American not just a Conservative lemming. It’s a big world out there not only your world.

Oh Danny boy! Doc Sarvis and Brad both made good points about the escapades of either Party. Just because this is a Conservative site doesn’t mean you can hide the truth or facts about your side. That doesn’t cut it in the real world.

Seems Doc. spent a LONG TIME looking up all the REPUBS. Wrong doings, yes they should have been HUNG by their BALLS until dead but I haven’t seen a single thing he has WRITTEN THAT SAYS THE DEMS. ARE ANY BETTER. Or does this just mean that only REPUBS are guilty of CRIMES OF THIS NATURE? BE fair and balanced is that possible with a Democrat? I think NOT, and what does that to do with RACISIST people. NONE. By the way it was a DEM. President that reinstated racical laws in the first place. Our CONSTITUTION says “ALL MEN WERE CREATED EQUAL” therefore there should never have been any reason for the black people to have to prove their equality by marching with MLK. there was no need for affirmative action in the first place but a DEMOCRAT PRESIDENT made sure that had to happen, NOW ASK YOUR OWN PARTY why???? And ASK OUR PARTY WHY WAS IT HAPPENED AT ALL.

I have said this before, I am a real mixed bag I am Black, Hispanic, Native American and White all rolled into one six foot tall 60 year old child.

The main differance between myself and the folks speaking in Ebonic’s and naming their kids after any insane thing they can come up with.
I got a good education, of what I paid for myself by working full time playing in a Rock & Roll band yet still going to school.
I had a strong family even though they were not my real family, they were a Japanese couple who had three kids of their own.
They tought me respect for others, that God is everywhere, he will help you if your believe and have faith.
To treat everyone like I would like to be treated.

I have had to wade my way through the tides of race being that I am not really dark but have olive color skin. I have found myself being asked by some of the most liberal of liberal Democrats, just what am I, where did I come from.
When I explain it, I get the same answer over and over I mean really its very strange.

    ” You don’t look Black at all,” { Well maby a little.}
“You have done well for yourself being that your a person of Color.”
“You speak so well, its like your not even black,” you can speak French & German like your a native, thats so nice.
This one is my all time fav; ” You don’t smell like your black”
Oh really, whats that smell like?

The facts are when I walk away I hear it most every time, you would never know he’s an (the N word.)
Yea, that just gives you a warm fuzzy feeling all over.

CM, Really? Seriously? Time tells you his story (it came across as sincere and personal to me) and you want to name call? You are a coward. A yellow bellied snake not fit to wriggle across the ground that Time walks on. Craven people like you prowl the web because you are too afraid to say such things face to face. I am sure you thought “coal miner” sounded tough, so that’s your handle. Whatever. So go ahead slimeball and keep jabbing from the anonymity of your computer interface.

You can call me stupid, I really do not care. In fact, your opinion is about as low as your old belly. But, relish the fact that this retort is the best your addled, dust filled brain can muster. You see, it does not take intelligence to throw insignificant barbs of hate. However, if all I did was to redirect your venom from Time, then I have truly accomplished my mission. So, bring it on, and leave Time alone.

        • JSlowsky

    • TIME

Bud, I find it really makes me laugh when I hear the word liberal from some. LOL

  • Eric Bischoff

I can’t help myself, I am going to remind you as often as necessary that your comments about the left are misguided, erroneous and misleading if not outright lies. The left wing of American politics is not represented by Pelosi, Clinton, the Democrats not even DailyKos. These people and organizations you mention, although I must agree are slightly to the left of your obviously extreme right wing conservative bias, do not represent the left in this country. They are merely the center. If you are going to write, you should get it right. If you don’t know who the left is then you really don’t understand the politics of this country yet or it’s possibilities and I suggest you go and find out.

“To be fair, there ARE bigots in the conservative family tree. But they’re the type of relatives we only see on major holidays—and they have to sit at the kids’ table. The liberals are letting theirs carve the roast.”

I have to acknowledge your writing skills. Too bad the substance is based on half truths and sensationalism. But still none of it excuses the racism, sexism and bigotry of the right conservatives. I have to hand it to you, you are good at going on the attack even when you are the ones who should make amends.

But what is the point? It seems that everything is about destroying the other side. When in reality we are one and the other side is still us. When will we realize the futility of all of this? Hopefully before it’s too late!

    • Dagney

Eric, what in He** are you talking about? There are enemies within this country who hate it because it is free. They are the LEFT. They don’t like individual freedom because they can’t control it. It is the dark side of human nature. It is real and it must be fought. There are no moderate leftists as evidenced by their votes for Health Care, financial reform, Sonia Sotomayor and the new rubber stamp for the leftist wet dreams. So, what are you talking about?

      • Al Sieber

        Dagney, good post.

        • Dagney

Thanks, Al. I see a new interpretation of Eric’s post. I think the left is losing and Eric knows it. So, because people on the right are basically good people, sometimes gullible because they just go about their work and don’t pay attention. Because they are losing now, though, the left must try to be concillatory and tell us how “mean-spirited” we are to fight them since “we are all the same”. It’s definitely not going to work this time. The lying mask of the left has been removed, America is awake, and the left has been FINALLY exposed as the evil America-haters that they are. Even people who don’t normally pay attention are seeing it now. It really is such a good thing, overall for this country, that Barack Obama won. The left has stopped lying about what they are and their evil is out there for all to see.

          • Al Sieber

Dagney, after rereading his post I see what you mean.

          • eddie47d

Conservatives hate financial reform which means business as usual and back to taking advantage of the American consumer. No,it should be about fairness, honesty….stop screwing the American people. Stop claiming to be a decent company while gouging the public. We aren’t buying your gimmicks and scams just so you can get rich off of our hard earned money. Lord knows there are plenty of financial institutions which didn’t earn half of what they made. Conservatives need to take a harder look at these companies that brought America down and how they gamed us all.

          • Dagney

Eddie, guess you never heard of the “Community Reinvestment Act”, huh? A government PROGRAM forced on banks by Democrats brought the economy down this time. There has been no pure free-market capitalism in this country since about 1913. Gouging doesn’t exist in a free-market economy. Read up a bit before you make ignorant comments, okay?

          • DaveH

Duh, Eddie, if you think the corporations are gouging you, why do you buy their products?
If you answer that you have no choice, I say why don’t you get together with your Liberal buddies and start your own company and produce those products more cheaply? Oh, I know, the other companies will underprice your product and drive you out of business, so they can get back to gouging. You Liberals have it all figured out, don’t you? NOT!

The only people I know who have forced me to buy anything are part of Government.

          • JSlowsky

It appears that there is someone that can’t distinguish the differences between a Republican and a conservative. I know that some folks wear blinders but I had not realized that a few were totally blind.

      • Eric Bischoff

Don’t ask me I didn’t vote for them.

    • Jim H.

Eric& Doc, Examples? Ben gave examples of Dem. bigotry, all I’ve read so far is vague accusations, no valid examples. Eric, you are correct when you say that the bigotry on the left doesn’t excuse the bigotry on the right, there is no excuse for it at all. What do conservatives have to make amends for? It is not about conservatives having to destroy the other side, it’s about protecting ourselves and our country from the other side. In reality we are not ONE and the other side is not US. Where did you come up with that pseudo-intellectual bull crap?

      • Eric Bischoff

You are right OUR country not just yours.

        • Jim H.

Eric, Since I do live in OUR country, you won’t mind if I try to protect my interests while I live here. I’ll still ask again, What do conservatives have to make amends for?

        • DaveH

Exactly, Eric, “our country”. So why do you Liberals disrespect your fellow citizens by trying to force your way on us?

        • Al Sieber

Eric, what do you have to be a smart ass for?

          • dan az

          • dan az

            Sorry i meant good

    • American Citizen

Eric, wake up!! We conservatives are each a unique individual who has seen what the policies of the left will do if put into practice. They would put us all in chains. We older American citizens are very worried about what can happen if things don’t get turned around. You throw off the wisdom of the ages to your own detriment.

    • Pathfinder

Half truths and sensationalism my A$$. It is the LEFT (And that is Clinto, Obama, Pelosi, Reid, et al.) that throws oreo cookies at black conservatives. Perhaps you would care to explain how conservative “racists” such as myself are willing to support Alan Keyes for president. “Racist” Rush Limbaugh allows Walter Williams to guest host on his radio show and has Clarance Thomas officiate at his latest wedding. Personally, I think that the KKK and the American Nazi party are both LEFT wing organizations. The philosophy of the democrats is a better fit with those two organizations than either the republicans or the libertarians. (Please take note of the fact that Nazis are NATIONAL SOCIALISTS. And the last time a grand kleagle of the KKK held a senate seat it was a democrat, Bob Byrd.)Democrats, historically, have been the party of slavery and the party of Jim Crow and the solid south. So don’t think you can foll me as to who the genuine racists are.

      • eddie47d

Pathfinder, I see your rewriting history again. Hitler hated blacks and that is well known. He also hated Jews and homosexuals and a rather long list of others. Nothing liberal or Democratic about him at all so your not fooling most of us. Name ONE KKK member that would vote for a blackman (liberal or conservative). You can’t! Yet KKK members do vote for Republicans so your comments are derogatory swill. Old Bob Byrd gave up his robe 40 years ago so you come up with some lame arguments. It was the liberals and some conservatives who “forced” change on the South and kicked the bigoted Dems out of their ranks. Guess which Party they switched over to…. Racists have been and still are in both Parties and within all racial cultures. Liberals tend to be more outspoken in denouncing racists (and sometimes they over do it)Conservatives always try and hide from it like it never happened in America. Now remember it was conservative Democrates who ran the Southern States. Not the left or liberals.

        • s c

Eduardo, go back to grade school, and this time LEARN the difference betwen ‘your’ and ‘you’re.’ You progressives are SO hard to educate. And, since YOU brought it up, I fail to understand how you can support a prez who worships and adores Margaret Sanger. She did MUCH more than merely hate blacks. Margaret Sanger’s idea were adopted and used by HITLER in WWII, chum. Planned Parenthood is a branch of Margaret Sanger’s eugenics theories, chum. Isn’t it a bit hard to revere Margaret Sanger and also worship a prez who does damned little to prove that he gives a damn about so many who elected him?
Hypocrisy is thy real name, chum. Love the stench while you can. America is mad as hell, and you and your camp-following hordes will learn the hard way that divide and conquer is more than an old Roman campaign slogan. Get off the pot, chum. Reality left you behind years ago.

          • eddie47d

SC; It’s President, not prez,so maybe you need to do some learning and take off those bumpkin clothes. You get more pathetic and petty each day.

        • Jeep

Geeze Eddie, exactly what is your fascination with the KKK? You know, like former Democrat David Duke. Or, the unholy alliance with former Democratic Govenor George Wallace. OMG did you know they both wanted to president?

          • eddie47d

David Duke is on the Republican ticket right now. He must be back from Austria where he stirred up trouble.Check your facts.

          • eddie47d

Oh Yes, George Wallace was a Conservative and an outspoken racist. You failed to mention that.

        • JSlowsky

May I suggest that you read my posted comments furthe down and you may feel free to explore the history of the Democratic Party and the history as it relates to the KKK and racism. To begin with, the Republican Party was founded by anti-slavery activists, in contrast to the pro-slavery Democratic Party.

Perhaps you would care to examine “Racist Democrats vs. Colorblind Republicans” at : http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=15893

        • DaveH

Sure, Eddie, you know KKK members? If not, how do you know who they vote for? Do you have references for your claims?
“Liberals tend to be more outspoken in denouncing racists” says Eddie. No, Eddie, Liberals are racists. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t favor giving people special protections based on their race. It is telling that the man who was going to Bring the Races Together is presiding over the most intense racism since I can remember. Racism is not color-blind. I have witnessed many more racist Blacks than racist Whites in my lifetime. And we aren’t going to get over the racism until you Liberals quit throwing it in our faces. My personal opinion is that Liberals don’t use the race card for any other purpose than to get their way on their ultimate goal – picking our pockets clean.

          • Denniso

DaveH also doesn’t understand the word racist….

    • DaveH

Is that right, Eric? Nancy Pelosi is in the center? Why don’t you enlighten us? Just what are some of the policies of the Left?

      • eddie47d

Don’t be so blind to the racists in the Republican Party and a few in the Libertarian Party too. Pathfinder is one.

  • Ricky Roo

Eric Bischoff…What planet are you from? If the Left wanted to get along, they could, but they only want to destroy anything that doesn’t remotely subscribe to their sic philosophy. They could care less what the people of this country want. Remember “Of the people by the people and for the People”. They have their own Pelosi/Soros agenda and if you don’t fit into it they will try to destroy you by any means possible. There is no middle road with them. They are so far from the middle that the middle looks like the far right. Take your blinders off and quit drinking their cool-aid before they totally destroy this country and turn us into another Little Lame Latin America socialist country.
Does Argentina ring a bell anywhere in that dome you call a head.

    • Eric Bischoff

Be careful who you insult Ricky Roo. This country is already destroyed. You may not realize it yet, but when the sh#t hits the fan and we go into hyperinflation and the economy collapses even much worse than now, you may then start looking at the Argentina model with envy. Argentina has already gone through it. They have figured out that the bankers screwed them and they are now moving into a better model. There is a movement afoot where the factory workers who were unemployed as the factory owners bailed and filed bankruptcy are now reopening these factories under the model of worker owned cooperative corporations. Let’s face it if you are unemployed and no one is helping you, you figure out alternatives. The people in Detroit should already be studying these models. The private free market is not helping Detroit and neither is the government.

      • Ricky Roo

It wasn’t the banker who screwed them it was the left wing going to give everybody everything they think they need and wnat for free party.. sound familiar

      • Ricky Roo

The Demorats are a mirror image of the problem that Argentina had in 1902 which was the start of their demise for the next 100 years. The party was on only till they couldn’t find enough money. That, is when the hyper inflation started and their 55% unemployment. Are they out of the woods yet, maybe not? Have they learned their lessons …maybe not, but we don’t have to go down that road unless people like you want to take us there. That road is a road to nowhere unless you’re shorting the US…Are you? Soros is. He’s a socialist that loves to bring everything down around his ankles so he can seem larger than life.
Are you willing to let this party destroy this country and push us into socialism which has never worked, will never work, and is in the process of taking down Europe?

Eric, I can’t hear your answer!

        • eddie47d

Ricky! It was the extreme right wing (conservatives) that turned Argentina into a police gulag in the 80′s. Remember the 20,000 disappeared? That was an ugly time in their history and it wasn’t socialism that shamed that country.

          • TIME

            Oh Eddieee,

Yet again you are clueless and post it for all to see, they were Socialist, as we all know – well that is those of us with gray matter thats the light version of a Marxist. But nice try, BTW – who is it you work again the George Soro IT crew, you must as thats the kind of BS they are selling to hide the porky stick.

rightwing fascist gov’t's. We have been terrified of socialism and communism as a credible threat to capitalism so from Iran to Chile we’ve orchestrated coups of leftwing leaders to get in gov’t friendly to us…often fascist or near fascist regimes.

        Eric,
You don’t have a clue about Argentina. Don’t pretend you do. As is the case with most Liberals you excel in unsupported facts. Argentina got where they are now, by following the same failed policies that you Liberals keep pushing on us:
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_history_of_Argentina

      • Al Sieber

It is the international bankers who are bringing this country down, they are through with this country and are raiding all the retirement funds etc.stealing the wealth of our labor. hyperinflation could be on the way, or deflation.

    • one day…

agree Eric B. It is funny because the ‘D Left’ party is betraying everyone who is not the Left Elite…most of the MSM and others will wake up one day soon and realize that they are NOT the elites…so sad.

  • JC

Going after Alan Keyes by calling him an Uncle Tom is about as low as they can get. It’s right there with Reid’s Hispanic comments.
These people are the embodiment of racism. God forbid we should evolve past racism…they would have no talking points at all.
I swear, Liberalism is a mental disorder.

    • Pathfinder

The attempt of the democrats to dissociate themselves from their past is a case study in hypocrisy. It was the democrats who were the party of slavery. It was the democrats that gave us Jim Crow laws. For many years the phrase “solid south” referred to democrat control of southern states the state legislatures, and governorships, and supporting democrat candidates for federal offices. I, for one, will not be fooled by the left’s attempt to hide its racism.

    • eddie47d

SC; What have conservatives done for the MAJORITY of hispanics? If your so one sided and concerned what have YOU done to bring hispanics into the Republican Party? What have Republicans done to make them feel welcomed especially those who have been citizens for hundreds of years? What about the newcomers who have just become citizens? Are you knocking on their doors? If they work with you do you invite them to your parties or picnics or whatever? All races want to respect each others time and space but most want more than being the token friend or co-worker.

      • JC

What exactly is the government supposed to be “doing” for any group?
Other than providing a system of opportunity, not dependency, in a land where injustice is punishable…nothing!
The government has no business “doing” anything for anybody and most especially NOT based on race.

        • Denniso

Hey there genius…you seem to conveniently forget(or you never knew)
that until the Fed gov’t got involved, all minorities were oppressed by the white majority who held most of the power in our country. How much progress and change was going on w/o the gov’t forcing the white majority to allow equal access and rights to Blacks and Hispanics?
None you say? Yes, no progress in equal rights for minorities until the gov’t finally forced states to follow the law and constitution.

Wake up from your limbaugh induced slumber…

          • Jeep

So, please enlighten us…where are doors CURRENTLY shut to other than “the white oppressor”?

          • JC

And with the governments “help” it’s STILL going on….genius!
YOU are the one so well trained, you’ll NEVER get it.

          • Denniso

Enlighten you? Sure, I’m glad to do that. Blacks were enslaved by whites for a couple hundred yrs. When they were finally freed they were forcibly repressed and kept out of the political, economic and cultural life controlled by the white majority. Forced to live under segregation and living in poverty and sending their kids to subpar schools as well as prevented from voting. The civil rights act and forced integration in schools and public life began to open up possibilities to Blacks, but most still lived in squalor and were poorly educated. Blacks have come a long way in the past 50 or so yrs,but many still have to fight a dominant white majority w/ some aspects of racism remaining and many Black children growing up in lousy conditions.

You can’t treat an entire group of people as subhuman for centuries and deny them basic human rights and keep them in dire poverty and then expect them to be able to compete and coexist equally w/ the dominant majority upon their release from those conditions. So, the doors that are open to all whites from a young age are still not as open to all black children…racism, poverty, ghettos, all contribute to
            an ongoing inequality.

      • Robin, Arcadia, IN

eddie… What are you talking about? No one has ever personally invited me to come to anything political. No one has done anything for me! We don’t owe anybody anything. Your political choice is just that… a choice. I don’t understand what your point is.

      • Jeep

Conservatives offer EQUAL opportunity, no one gets more or less. In anticipation of your ignorant response, libs do offer more to minorities and the “under class” (whatever that means, or just ask a lib as they are quick to throw labels out). Unfortunately, to offer more means you have to take from someone else, and who better than a lib to line all us “over-privilidged folk” up and say, “You owe X amount to pay for your sins, and you owe…”

    • kate8

JC, The dems still think they own all people of color. They’ve never gotten over the slaves being freed and allowed to think, speak and vote however they want.

      • JC

Well they’re a bunch of hysterical control freaks…I’ll say that for them. And being as rational and moral as they are…the race card is really all they’ve got.

        • Denniso

Just curious Kate8…how would you choose to explain the almost total white Repub party vs the multi colored Dem party? Maybe you think the Dems enslave all the ethnicities that are part of the party? You probably can’t imagine that the Dem party is actually made up of Blacks,Whites,Hispanics,Asians, mixed race, gays…those groups are all controlled by some cabal in the party?

How is it that very few minorities choose to be Repubs? Oh,yeah,it’s because all minority people are looking for a free handout from gov’t…that’s right,I just sometimes forget that minorities are all lazy do nothing people.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Dennislobber,

Eric, either you are pretty limited in life experiences, or just have barrel vision, which limits what is going on around you to be witnessed. Wheather it is the people you work with, elect in any office, from town boards to the presedent of the USA. Any person with a D behind their name will, consitantly promote the liberal progressive government control of everything. Their beleif, that if there is a problem, or even if it is imagined, create a restrictive ruling, judgement, or instrument, to control anything even if it is some one determining, if you fly an American Flag on your private property. That is why the idea of not having the guts to make a choice of what you beleive in or follow the mantra of a party, is still needed. Spector has always been a prime example of deep held veiws. Gramhamisty, Collins, Snow are just of some of the rinos who should be classified as D, or just a S, for theS–ts! With a super majority name one thing the National Socialist Democrat Union Party has accomplished inthe last almost 4 years definitely 20+ months have inproved in the USA, and don’t start the inherited BS, dems are fast tracking the USA to the sewer of marxist govewrnment control.

    • Pathfinder

While I will agree that the democrats inherited a mess from Bush (RINO # 1). Obama and the democrats are starting in the gutter and going downhill from there, right into the sewer of socialism. Again I will repeat. BUSH, BAD; OBAMA, WORSE!!

      • john doe

Why is it everyone wants to blame Bush for the policies of eight years Clinton?
1992Clinton change the SCC chairman and who changed the rules and was the cause of the world com and other large companies who were like bulls in a china shop.
1994 Clinton changed the CRA act from the Carter administration that told the banks they had to lend to everyone because, everybody deserved a house. Gee and then the slime came out of the woodwork and we had our housing meltdown.
Then in the 2000 we had the oil companies complain that they “Needed” to be able to buy oil futures out of this country So Clinton signed the bill and the oil shot up to $150 a barrel and paralyzed the world. Gee, what part of this don’t I understand.
Yes President Bush had his shortcomings…but common folks look at the reality of things. And as far as Obama blaming President Bush for his problems..Obama was right there in congress passing the bills with Pelosi and the Demorats that made things hard for President Bush and the country. Kind like the pot calling the kettle Black.
If anyone inherited anything, it was President Bush from the Clinton era and Obama is having to deal with Clinton ineptness still, today.

  • Reggie Brian

    Bravo. This was brilliant.

  • Reggie Brian

I have to repeat myself in this thread and remind that there is a tendency to think of “extreme conservative” and “far left” as if there were two sides of a teeter totter. This is not true. Conservatism is a desire to be in the exact middle of the bulls-eye, and liberalism is just one of many directions and distances away from that “center”. Being “ultra-conservative” means that you are agreeing to and sticking with the rules that we all (presumably) have agreed to. It’s not “right and left” because we have a left and right foot, or a left and right hand, but more like we have a central brain, yet some people liberally use more or less of it when they think.

    • Denniso

Interesting, but why not just look up the definitions of liberal and conservative and where they are on the issues?

Liberals,in general, are open minded, tolerant and believe in a broad education. They think peace is better than war and that we have to protect the earth(environment)in order to continue to be sustained by the earth. They also have a love of the earth for it’s own sake, not just for what it can give us,and a love of people of all types and ethnicities. They are most of the artists and musicians in the world and believe that human creativity is as valid or more so than making money. They can be too open minded at times and get lost in a maze of thoughts and philosophies, sometimes contradictory. They know that minorities have been repressed forever in human history and they want to change that in their lifetimes. They don’t think that money and force should control modern society like it has for most of man’s existence.Liberals believe that w/o a strong enough gov’t in control of man’s baser impulses, the most powerful, greedy and wealthy will dictate to the masses what their life will be,as evidenced by history …they’re not perfect people, but they are trying to make life better for all,not just a select few at the top, while maintaining a healthy planet and society.

      Conservatives? You tell me…

      • eddie47d

        Excellent,Thank You.

      • Gnat Wrestler

Yeah yeah. Take away the liberal’s guns and the artists, muscians, and lovers of dirt will just be voices in opposition to the mainstream. Let’s not forget that the conservatives who want a job as enforcers police, deputies, jailers, swat, federal marshalls, DEA, FBI etc. because they need money are the “guns” of the artists and etc. that you claim are the kind and gentle lambs of the planet. These people are so into being in charge that they will enforce laws that they do not agree with as long as they are paid in money, power, and their cheap control highs. Look into it. All law, regulation, and policy is enforced at the point of a gun be it liberal, conservative, or just don’t give a hoot.

Get back to mother earth and basics and have fun today by milking a steer.

D, it doesn’t take an Einstein to refute the slop that pours out of a progressive’s flapping mouth. You have no clue. You never did.
Burn that social engineering dictionary you always use. Just because you have the version that was autographed by Lenin, Marx and Hitler doesn’t make it worth having.
What’s the point in trying to get people to enjoy or appreciate progressivism’s mental masturbation techniques, when YOU and your ‘friends’ are the only ones who can feel good about the outcome?
My neighbor’s dog has more common sense than any progressive who ever lived. Even if we could find common ground, you’d never dare take a look at who really pulls the strings of those who wield power. Learn the hard way, chum. But first, learn how to read and make your own decisions. The mammy jammer behind the curtain in Oz is the REAL enemy. Will you ever get it straight? How many lessons do you need?

liberals open mindedness only goes as far as what they believe, i mean please. if you do not agree with liberals your stupid, racist, hope you die of cancer, criminal, uncle tom, a puppet, hypocrite, on and on the things liberals have said about people on the right.

there is no real discussion of issues and beliefs on either side really in the broad sense of things and the few on either side that do discuss actual issues are locked in the basement or disreguarded as wingnuts.

both extremes in either party are as close minded as you can get. liberals simply get more of a free ride because the main stream media will not call them out.

liberals want to tell you what to think, what you can read, what radio shows you can listen to, what games you can play, what foods you can eat, what substances you can put into your body, i mean where is the open mindedness of the progressive left that existed back in the 60s before the major swing to full out and out socialism infiltrated the left wing moments whole cloth.

lest i not seen many right wing people push for things like card check, fairness doctrine, want to tax fast food and junk foods, want to pummel walmart because they will not let unions into their business, block any movements toward tort reform that would interfear with the ambulance chasing trial lawyer buddies, want to tell states what they can and cannot do all the way from health care to drug laws.

right is as bad in moral issues which the federal government should stay the hell out of. but the balance of the government wanting to control your mind falls heavily on the liberal side.

so it is near laughable that you would make the claim that liberals are more open minded than conservatives. because by any definition of open minded it just does not wash. hell open mindedness is pretty much dead now days with party spin and war rooms and tearing people down rather than debating issues honestly.

dems have been practicing overt racism for years. encouraging victimization and federal hand outs to keep people dependant on the government roles. while affirmative action might have been ok for a bit to get a more diverse workplace and break some of the blatant stupidity that permeated this nation back in the day and show people that blacks were every bit as intelligent and creative and hard working as whites.

its time has clearly passed we should just enforce laws when places deny blacks, hispanics, and women overtly jobs based on their skin color and sex, because it is not hard to ferret them out when trends are apparent.

        • denniso

You, simply put, don’t understand what racism is…

          • JC

It’s a tool of division most often employed by those who want to control everyone with laws that are completely unnecessary and based on the theory of racism…which will never die as long as we have control freaks trying to control all of us.
The present administration was elected by progressives and government dependants and they are all about “race” division.

This post answers the fascist/liberal/progressive liars on this site quite well. And, of course several others answered their hypocrisy most accurately, too.

            JSlowsky says:
            August 17, 2010 at 4:21 pm
The KKK Wing of the US Democrat Party
            Robert Byrd (D-W.Va., KKK):
“The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia [and] in every state in the Union.”

            Robert Byrd (D-W.Va., KKK):
“I will never fight with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.”
Robert Byrd is part of a long tradition in US Democratic Party politics. That of the K.K.K.

Robert Byrd filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act. His comrade, Al Gore Sr., vehemently opposed the bill, as did most of their fellow Democrat senators.

Robert Byrd opposed the nominations of the Supreme Court’s two black justices, liberal Thurgood Marshall and conservative Clarence Thomas.

Robert Byrd’s press secretary Tom Gavin is not sure whether Senator Byrd lynched any Black people or not.

Obama endorsed by Robert Byrd, the KKK’s Most Successful Leader

Here’s 2008 Democrat Presidential hopeful Chris Dodd’s panegyric to Sheets Byrd: “It has often been said that the man and the moment come together. I do not think it is an exaggeration at all to say to my friend from West Virginia that he would have been a great Senator at any moment. Some were right for the time. Robert C. Byrd, in my view, would have been right at any time. He would have been right at the founding of this country. He would have been in the leadership crafting this Constitution. He would have been right during the great conflict of civil war in this Nation. He would have been right at the great moments of international threat we faced in the 20th century. I cannot think of a single moment in this Nation’s 220-plus year history where he would not have been a valuable asset to this country. Certainly today that is not any less true.”

            D. W. Griffith’s film “The Birth of a Nation” glorified the original Klan, it’s popularity and influence were enhanced by a widely reported endorsement of its factual accuracy by historian and Democrat U.S. President Woodrow Wilson as a favor to an old friend.

Klan delegates played a significant role at the path setting 1924 Democratic National Convention in New York City, often called the “Klanbake Convention” as a result.

The “moderate” John William Davis ran as the Democrat nominee for President in 1924. He denounced his former ties to the KKK, but ran on an anti-anti-lynching-law and an end to Black voting rights platform. After alienating his KKK Democrat base, he lost the election to Republican Calvin Cooledge.
His legal career is most remembered for his impassioned (and unsuccessful) pro bono defense of the “[racially] separate but equal” doctrine in Brown v. Board of Education before the Supreme Court.

History shows that the Ku Klux Klan was the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party. This ugly fact about the Democrat Party is detailed in the book, “A Short History of Reconstruction”. Heartbreaking are Professor Foner’s recitations of the horrific acts of terror inflicted by Democrats on black and white Republicans.

Bruce Bartlett sets the record straight in “Wrong on Race: The Democratic Party’s Buried Past”, in which he observes to the contrary that “virtually every significant racist in American political history was a Democrat.” Democrats are today best known as the party of the “little man,” but the party’s original agrarian base included plantation owners distinctly uninterested in the abolition of slavery. The Democratic Party, then, was home to politicians determined to maintain blacks as possessions.

Franklin D. Roosevelt, meanwhile, appointed a Klansman to the Supreme Court and largely ignored black concerns, reluctant to jeopardize his relationship with Southern committee chairmen.

John F. Kennedy’s racial priorities were similar to Roosevelt’s; his few progressive efforts on racial questions were due to political expediency. Kennedy would have done nothing significant for black Americans had the growing political and public-relations problem of Jim Crow in the South not forced his hand.

Senator James Vardaman of Mississippi, an ardent defender of lynching who also spoke of his love for the “Mammy” who helped raise him. Senator Theodore Bilbo of Mississippi tirelessly advocated that blacks be given their own state in the West, in order to ensure that no one would force “our Southern girls to use the stools and toilets of damn syphilitic ni***r women.”

Ronald Reagan was accused of racism largely because of his opposition to the government programs that many blacks had come to depend on since the sixties. Reagan developed his small-government convictions, however, long before he entered politics, and hardly with blacks in mind. Blacks’ median income actually rose during Reagan’s terms in office.

Whew!! You’ll have to excuse me (just threw-up a little) while I collect my thoughts.

First… you’re NOT Liberals (classic liberal would be Libertarian…. REAL freedom, REAL tolerance, merit based responsibility, MINIMAL interferance/government), you’re Progressives or, based on your objectives according to the OED, Communists. If that’s waht you want?? GREAT… proclaim it loudly… be proud!! Say… “I am a Communist and I have the key to perfect society”!! Just stop inventing words to hide what you really are.

        Next… your character strengths??
Open minded… like a sieve. Tolerant..HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA… (tolerant snicker).
Education.. Again.. say what you mean… broad indoctrination (aka the sun and oceans have NOTHING to do with climate, but you Dads’ SUV will destroy the planet… or how ’bout “Barack Hussein Obama mm mm mm”!)
Peace over war… EVERYBODY thinks that way!! If forced?? If you WIN, there WILL be peace!
Love of the Earth… I love the Earth… but the way you love the Earth?? I hope you’re getting bulk discounts on penicillan!!
Artists and musicians?? Real musicians or Cortney Love variety?? All the GOOD musicians I know are nearly universally Libertarian although I admit my experiences can’t be true for all.
Love of ALL ethnicities, creeds peoples…. More Communist lies expounding the myth of “collective salvation” I love the individual and wouldn’t you know it.. pretty even distribution of races, life-styles represented. I’ll let you in ona little secrete…”Discrimination” was exercised on each and every one of my friends and they all passed with honors!!
You’re too open minded and occasionally contradictory??? Translation… you have no convictions.
Minorities??? Corrected as in reverse discrimination and reparations?
Money and force rule the world?? True… and the entitiy with the most money and force is the government. And if you don’t think they’ll be WORSE than any capitalist… there’s no hope for you.

You should probably stay a Communist and be taken care of because I don’t think merit and results are your strong suit.

      • Robin, Arcadia, IN

Denniso… Your description of a liberal would only fit in a perfect world. I think the biggest difference between liberals and conservatives is a thin line. I could tell you my definition of a conservative, but not many would fit it, which is the same as your definition of liberals. They don’t fit the mold! If they did and lines weren’t so blurred, it would make it so much easier to make a choice!

        A WARNING AGAINST MODERN LIBERALISM
        by Samuel E. Waldron

There is an old maxim which says, Know your enemy! I am convinced that in modern liberalism we are face to face with the greatest cultural enemy of Christianity in our day. Modern liberalism is public enemy number one. If we are going to defend ourselves, our families, our churches, and our country against it, we must know our enemy! The goal of this little booklet is to explain modern liberalism and issue an urgent warning against it. No one who has viewed the scandalous situation in Washington and the lack of moral outrage in our land as a response to it can fail to understand the urgency of this warning.

Modern liberalism may not be quite the correct name for what I have in mind. I use the phrase to mean the latest stage of the liberalism that has been growing in the West for at least two and a half centuries, and probably longer. Nor does this suggest that I think liberalism was always a bad idea. So long as it was tempered by opposing authorities and traditions, it was a splendid idea. It is the collapse of those tempering forces that has brought us to a triumphant modern liberalism with all the cultural and social degradation that follows in its wake. If you do not think “modern liberalism” an appropriate name, substitute “radical liberalism” or “sentimental liberalism” or even, save us, post- liberalism.” Whatever name is used, most readers will recognize the species. The defining characteristics of modern liberalism are radical egalitarianism (the equality of outcomes rather than of opportunities) and radical individualism (the drastic reduction of limits to personal gratification). These may seem an odd pair, for individualism means liberty and liberty produces inequality, while equality of outcomes means coercion and coercion destroys liberty. If they are to operate simultaneously, radical egalitarianism and radical individualism, where they would compete, must be kept apart, must operate in different areas of life. That is precisely what we see in today’s culture.

Modern liberalism is very different in content from the liberalism of, say, the 1940s or 1950s, and certainly different from the liberalism of the last century. The sentiments and beliefs that drive it, however, are the same: the ideals of liberty and equality. These ideals produced the great political, social, and cultural achievements of Western civilization, but no ideal, however worthy, can be pressed forever without turning into something else, turning in fact into its opposite. This is what is happening now.

This and more can be read at: http://www.vor.org/truth/sew/warning_modernlib.html

So much pap from such a small mind…you listen to the fake Michael Savage too much and your mind has turned to mush…pathetic to see a human mind rot like that.

          • JSlowsky

First things first! Did I attack you and slander you with a vile and childish attack? I don’t think so! Have at it liberal hack. You’ve obviously studied Saul Alinsky and learned well the act of ridicule and name calling. By the way liberal hack, I’ve never ever listened to Savage in my life. Liberal fool!

          • Denniso

No,you just equated liberals w/ criminals…’public enemy no.1′. You state that liberals are the ‘greatest threat to Christianity’. Now,you say those things through the booklet you quote I guess, but they might as well be your words.

Are you even aware that there are very liberal Christians who fight for justice in this and other countries? You basically declare war on
liberals and then you are bothered that I attack you? You just attacked all liberals w/ a ridiculous and very general statement that feeds into the hate from the rightwing.

      • DaveH

Dumniso says “Liberals,in general, are open minded, tolerant and believe in a broad education.” In your dreams, Dumniso. That is what you like to believe, but the evidence goes contrary to that. Open-minded? Only in the sense of the deep space between your ears. Tolerant? Sure, we can see that by the vicious name-calling and condescension practiced daily on this board by Liberals. And we can see that by your tendancy to force your personal choices on the rest of us through Big Government. Broad Education? Hardly. More like a dearth of education. If you were educated you would not be pushing the same failed policies that have ruined many countries economies throughout history.
Do not confuse what you prefer to believe with being educated.

        • eyeswideopen

DaveH, come on, your education was financed by the taxpayers and you have the nerve to support vouchers…hypocritical to say the least. You have the repub idealogy of “I got mine, now screw you”…

          • Denniso

Hello eyes…you’re right about the Repub philosophy that at it’s core is promoting selfishness and greed…look at the number of hard right people who live by Ayn Rand’s credo. “individual selfishness leads to the healthiest and most productive society”. In other words,if everyone has to scramble to the top and run over others along the way,it’s OK,even if the trampled die in the street and their children grow up in dire poverty and remain stuck there…it’s OK,even if it adversely affects all of society w/ higher crime and huge social costs like prisons, more cops required, even if some of the children of the wealthiest are killed in random crime…It’s all OK because the price tag in $$ and misery is worth the ideal that Repubs
pursue in the name of FREE MARKETS and SMALL GOV’T.

It’s really the reverse of the utopia they accuse Dems of pursuing…a dog eat dog society.

          • alpha-lemming

Leave it to a Prog to define greed as… “You’re not paying enough to welfare queens ’cause when they buy their food stamp Cheetoes they have to get the store brand and not the good stuff”.

You do NOTHING to earn ANYTHING and we’re selfish?? A psychiatrist would call that enabling (NOT a good thing).

Newsflash for ya… and you’re not gonna like it.
There isn’t enough money in the world to make everyone in it middle class.

“liberals believe that peace is better than war.” Who was president when ww2 started? roosevelt (D) Who was president when the first nuclear bomb was dropped? Truman (D)!!!!!!!!!! Peace loving?? I think not!

        • Denniso

          Kate8,
I’ll excuse your lack of political understanding, but you have to know this…the rightwing wants our society to mirror the survival of the fittest that we see in nature where everyone preys on everyone else and the toughest and most brutish rule over the weaker and less fortunate…that’s the battle! The left thinks that we should be a community of humans helping one another and not leaving 1/4 or 1/2 of our fellow humans behind to fester and rot in degrading and inhuman living conditions. The left thinks that w/o a large enough gov’t to watch and regulate giant corporations and billionaires,we endanger the health and livelyhood of millions. We also endanger the very health of our economy if we let the wealthiest control it and use it for their personal gain and purposes.

It’s really a pretty simple distinction…Dems want to soften the harsh edges of a capitalist economy for the majority of people and Repubs want to allow it to run freely w/ no concern for who gets trampled in the process.

          • http://?? Joe H.

Anybody notice that those who pretend to care about objectivity are the same ones who whiz and moan about what they refer to as balance? Whenever pc storm troopers talk about balance, they mean THEY alone reserve the right to DEFINE what “balance” is. So much for “fair.” So much for “balance.” So much for objectivity. So much for ethics, hope, change, transparency, morality and being “elite.”

Actually Eddie I think your on the other side of the mirror you only see the opposite of the truth when it bites you on the nose.Maybe it was a kiss or maybe it was a bad dream.Rather than seeking the opposite you can read and learn something that has some facts, rather than your childish ways that only you seem to believe is truth. How are you going to vote more of the same or for getting back to the way things should be?

          • eddie47d

You will vote for the way you want things to be and I will do the same.

  • Gnat Wrestler

are you just now figuring all this out. Keep it simple. Be a racist like everyone else and stop ruminating over it. Tell us some thing useful, will it be inflation or deflation come Christmas? Otherwise, I’ll offer your name up as the future ambassador to Uganda.

    Cheers in ya britches

  • http://drg-freeassociation.blogspot.com/ DrG

BTW, those who use the term “Uncle Tom”, ought to go back and read the book. Uncle Tom was hardly a white sympathizer or collaborator, as the term is used. He was more of a keep your head down survivor, who for the most part remained honorable in his suffering, while doing his best to help his fellow slaves.

“Stowe’s melodramatic story humanized the suffering of slavery for white audiences by portraying Tom as a Christlike figure who is ultimately martyred, beaten to death by a cruel master because Tom refuses to betray the whereabouts of two fugitive female slaves.”

If you’re going to be a “liberal” racist, at least do your research.

Eduardo, you almost got something right – for a change. America’s colleges and universities are turning generations of losers who can’t read, write, walk, talk or chew gum at the same time (wannabe progressives, that is).
You seem to be a typical example of what America’s grade schools and high schools produce. You always have something to say, but you rarely make sense. If you live long enough, you may see the day when you understand how progressivism rots minds and infects America with braindead space cadets who need to be elsewhere. How about moving to Mexico?

    • DaveH

You’re stooping to new lows, Eddie. Keep up your personal attacks. It’s good for everybody to see what Liberals are made of.

We have to look no farther than the Fox broadcasting network to one of the main culprits of racism, Roger Ailes, who is president and founder of this network. He’s the one who came up with the Willie Horton ad during the Bush/Dukakis election. This blackman Willie put fear and distrust of blacks into every home in America. Lock your doors and be very afraid. It also encouraged our justice system to give blacks harsher sentencing than whites who commit the same crime. So much for “justice is blind” or at least when it comes to race. H.Bush probably would have won the election anyway but many people have said that ad turned them against his opponent. So racism works loud and clear in political ads.

    • JSlowsky

I would like to shed some authentic light on FOX. I’m afraid that you are mis-informed in that Roger Ailes was or is the founder of FOX Broadcasting. In 1984, Ailes helped produce a television special, Television and the Presidency. This documentary was later expanded into a multi-part series on Fox News Channel, first aired in 2004.
In 1993, Ailes became president of the cable channel CNBC and began planning another NBC cable channel, America’s Talking. The new channel debuted on July 4, 1994. Ailes also hosted his own nightly show, Straight Forward, an hour-long talk show. After the announcement of Microsoft and NBC’s partnership to create an online and cable news outlet, MSNBC, taking the place of America’s Talking, Ailes left the network in February 1996 and was hired by Rupert Murdoch to help create Fox News Channel for News Corporation. In addition, eighty-nine additional employees of the NBC networks left with Ailes to help with the new channel’s creation for launch, on October 7, 1996.

Groundwork for a new Fox network was laid in March 1985 by News Corporation’s $250-million purchase of 50 percent of TCF Holdings, the parent company of the 20th Century Fox movie studio

In December 1985, Rupert Murdoch agreed to pay $325 million to acquire the rest of the studio from his original partner, Marvin Davis. The purchase of the Metromedia stations was approved by the Federal Communications Commission in March 1986; the New York and Dallas outlets were subsequently renamed WNYW and KDAF respectively. These first six stations, then broadcasting to 22 percent of the nation’s households, became known as the Fox Television Stations group.

The source of this information is readily available on Wikpedia under FOX and Roger Ailes.

You’ve got it upside down, Eddie. There are more blacks in prisons because more blacks commit crimes. It’s hard to blame them with the bad example that Liberals create by promoting the idea that Government should be able to spend our money as they please. If Government can help themselves to the money of others, it’s not too big a stretch for somebody to think “why can’t I?”.
      http://mises.org/daily/4125

I said that more blacks are in prison and get longer sentences than white who commit the same crime. Please go and re-read.

Anyone who belongs to either of the corporate parties are all just as crazy as the next. They are all puppets who jump when their corporate masters pull their strings. The only way to change anything is to throw out all of these corporate stooges across the country and elect people with absolutely no party ties at all. Mavericks and Reformers are what we need and there have only been two people who could have actually led a true reform movement in the past two decades – Paul Wellstone and Ralph Nader. All others have siply been well animated puppets of the corporate regime.

    • DaveH

Ralph Nader is simply a well animated member of the bar. If you really want a level playing field, you will get Government out of business. Return the power to the consumers instead of leaving it in the hands of Government (that includes lawyers). There is only one political party that can get that done. That is the Libertarian Party.

if you want truth you will not get it from republicans or democrats. independents maybe, constitutionalists yes, liberitians yes, but you better read the constitution and the declaration of independence, the mayflower compact, and federalist papers. then when you see drival you will understand it for what it is. if you want you can also read a fictional book that will give you an understanding of the results of the politics of today. read Ayn Rand^s Atlas Shrugged. I recomend it to any with questions of life .

atlas reborn, get ready for the hoot owls to start screaming for they will make the point that Ayn Rand was a nut case, despite the remarkable truisms and accuracey of her work.

      JSlowsky,

Thanks for the good read, I had no idea the KKK was democratic based, maybe that’s why Obama is calling for an all civilian (Brown shirt) reaction force.

      • Claire

The Democrats did organize the KKK, and then after a number of years passed, Republicans also joined the KKK.

        • JSlowsky

Claire, correct and obviously there are racists in all walks of life. It is my contention that the Democratic Party clearly has promoted racism through patronization and does so now as does the main stream media.

        • JSlowsky

While doing a search I came upon this enlightening article.

A radio advertisement running in Maryland, produced by the National Black Republican Association, has been drawing heat for claiming that Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. was really a Republican and that Democrats opposed all civil rights legislation from the 1860′s to the 1960′s and were responsible for starting the Ku Klux Klan.

The 60-second advertisement is shaped as a casual conversation between two African-American women, with one explaining to the other how Democrats have “bamboozled” blacks into believing that their party has done more for the civil rights movement than the Republican Party.

“It sets the record straight, demonstrating that it was Republicans, not Democrats, who championed civil rights for blacks over the past 150 years,” NBRA Chairman Frances Rice said in a press release. “Democrats have hijacked the civil rights record of the Republican Party and fought every effort of Republicans to help blacks get off of the Democrat Party’s economic plantation.”
          http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Black_Republican_groups_radio_ad_accuses_0921.html

        • Jeep

Claire, your attempts to infer that “Republican’s” are somehow now responsible for the KKK is, well, laughable, at best. I would suggest, if it bothers you that much, that you do a little research.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Jeep,
I don’t think Claire was trying to do that. she has always stood on the fact that BOTH parties are as crooked as snakes!!

I have been reading a lot of these posts by alot of loonys as i see them. One is demoraso who thinks that some one owes him something for his doing nothing. These people are always persecuting the so called rich for being rich and are demanding that the government take from and give to them. don’t get me wrong because i have worked for what little i have and i don’t to give it to some one that wan’t do the same. To take from some one like this is what i call thieft if it is given freely then that is compassion and should be rewarded here and in the here after. Another note here is that i am a long way from being rich but i manage to get by not doing and having a lot of things i would like to have. Dr. Rabbids could better spend his time trying to find something good that people are doing that is right not what every low life in the world is doing. I remember a saying that i heard a long long time ago that is that fools names and fools faces are seen in public places. These people are every where that is why we have laws to deal with them. We are supposed to have a uniform code of justice but if you have paid attention you can see alot of favortism used in the courts it’s not only money but also who you know. These type of people he is writing about are evey where in this world in all walks of life and if you be of christian faith you should i think belive they need to be exterminated.I don’t think that you can find a better way to live than the golden rule to treat your neighbor as you want to be treated.

    • eyeswideopen

Jerry, the rich are not attacked for being rich. Normal middle class Americans are having a hard time feeling sorry for the Wall Street group who make millions and only pay 15 percent in taxes while the rest of us pay a min of 28%. What logic can justify that disparity?? Don’t say they create jobs as small business create 64%, government provides 11%. so the extremely rich only employ 25% of the workforce. Come on, let’s hear why they should have a much lower rate than the rest of us??? You need to read what Warren Buffett just stated about the wealthy tax rate. Hell, some repbus are even stating that the rich don’t pay enough. Just a small question, when the rich don’t pay their fair share, who do you think pays it??

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Eyes,
how many of those small buisinesses pay a living wage? you know pay that a person can live on, IE pay rentor buy a house, car, insurance, food, a living wage??? my idea of a small business is less than 30 employees. yours?

            The two Bushes:
George Scab Senior even praised Deng Xiaoping and not to blame him for crushing the student prodemocracy movement.
This started long before Bill Clinton got in office.

I guess I’ll have to throw in my opinion. Both parties are guilty of hatemongering, hypocrisy, dishonesty, lack of morals and ethics, cheating, and no common sense. The next couple of months are going to be a real barnburner. A third party sounds more appealing to me every day. But then again, it will not make a bit of difference who gets elected. It will be more of the same. After all, politicians are cut out of the same cloth, only they try to “profess” their differences in a lot of the policies. Wonder what they will do about the illegals? I would certainly love to pin each politician down and get a straight answer from all of them about this. It would sure be nice to know what they “plan” to do and exactly what they stand for. They harp and preach but then when they enter the White House or Congress, they change like a chameleon. It would be nice to hear the truth, instead of all show and no go.

    • Al Sieber

      Claire,
I look to the new Constitutional Conservatives running that Sen. Jim DeMint is backing with his Conservative Comeback… I get his e-mail.

Jim writes about the candidate and how he/she believes in the Constitution, smaller gov, cut pork spending, supports reducing taxes and the deficet, and repealing takeover of obamacare…

We have sent money to these new candidates in different states to defeat the incumbant progressives that have long worn out their welcome and are ruining our Free Country.

Martin Luther King was a Republican. All white racists during the Civil Rights period were democrats. The Civil Rights act passed because Republicans supported it. Southern Democrats couldn’t support it and remain in office. Robert Byrd (D West Virginia) Was against it. The former member of the Ku Klux Klan was going to mount a filibuster against it. The Democrats like most tyrants rewrite history to suit their political ends.

The white racists were Southern white racists…many Northerners went down to fight the battle. Blacks in the south were indeed Repubs way back to Lincoln being a Repub. The Southern Democrats were often racist and had spent decades keeping the Blacks repressed. When JFK waded into the battle for civil rights, the Blacks switched parties and the Southern Democrats went over to the Repubs.

forget race, creed, national origins, but let us see right, wrong, just, and truth. I look for honesty and rarely find, truth and seldom find because people twist the truth so much it is nearly a lie. just to a democrat is what they precieve will get them votes. a republican will use a lawyers language to state nothing. it is what these people(I use the word carefully) do not say that gives them away. they say they believe in the constitution but make laws in violation of the constitution. they allow decree to law by not confronting the abomination. they know how to make you think they will do what you think they will and do the opposite. if you listen to the things they say jestfully you get a closer picture.because you think they would never it, but they actually will. they will hint about things so than they can see the real feelings of the people so they wont say the wrong things or will say something that will make you think they will d0 what want to do but they will do what they want regardless of what you really want. that is the politicians.
