Sarah Palin Signs Deal With Fox News

January 12, 2010 by

Sarah Palin signs deal with Fox NewsFormer Alaska Governor and Republican vice presidential running mate from 2008 Sarah Palin has reportedly inked a deal with Fox News to appear regularly as a contributor for the network.

The announcement has spurred a widespread debate in the media about the significance of Palin’s move. Many commentators appeared to believe the former governor aimed to keep herself relevant and visible on the national stage, possibly to build up a political base to make a presidential bid in 2012.

"Out-of-work politicians are increasingly using television and radio to stay on the political radar and keep their options open," wrote Howard Kurtz in the Washington Post, adding that is exactly what Mike Huckabee is doing. The former Arkansas governor, who has not ruled out running for president in 2012, has his own weekend show on Fox.

There were also those — like CNN political contributor Paul Begala — who joked, "Let’s hope for [Fox News President] Roger Ailes’ sake that she doesn’t quit that job the way she quit her job as governor," in reference to Palin’s surprise decision last July to resign from the highest post in Alaska.

There is also much anticipation regarding the way in which Palin will handle her conservative critics, especially those involved in the 2008 Republican presidential campaign, some of whom accused her of a lack of understanding of fundamental foreign affairs issues, ignorance about the structure of domestic institutions, such as the Federal Reserve, or even of being "mentally unstable," according to Time magazine.

I think this is a very good decision. I believe she entered politics a little niave and learned a very valuable lesson. The mainstream news personalities can joke all they want about her “quitting”. What they don’t see is that she did not quit. Nope, she regrouped. They went after her family and I understand a mother having to step back and decide if it is worth it. I listened to her on Glen Beck and she answered the question for me. Her decision is to step up to the plate. She is passionate and outspoken. We need that. But, I feel in her capacity with FOX she will be able to speak her own words and keep the truth out in the open. Good for her.

Whether she runs or not she will be a thorn in the side of the progessive socialist in either party. She is grass roots America with her pro life, pro hunting, anti Obamacare, anti new taxes, grow the economy, not the government stance on issues. You will notice that I did not say she is presidential material and in fact, I do not think she will run for president. She is however, a constitutional advocate and friend of the people. All of her combined traits add up to a severe threat to the progressive socialist I mentioned in the beginning of this post and is the reason why they seek to crucify her daily. The differance now is that as a member of the Fox team she will have her own forum to rebuff the wanton scurge of relentless acusations leveled against her. I think she will do well at this. Once woman get to know her better they will recognize her as a superior role model for their daughters than say the likes of Madonna, Oprah or even mean Michelle. Men on the other hand, already know why they like her. It’s because she has such large, firm, ahh… hands from being a commercial fisherman and huntress. But seriously though, she has a universal appeal which is infectious to the point of being cronic or terminal even.
And yes, I like her alot. In fact, just thinking about her sends a tingle down my leg. Am I biased? Of course I am. The differance though between me and Chris Matthews is number one, that I will freely admit it and two, I get these tingles from thinking about women, not other men.

I strongly agree with both Michael and Norma. The main-stream pro-obammma media are way out of line in their attacks on Sarah Palin. She speaks TRUTH and is not afraid to call it as she sees it. I look forward to her role with Fox and wish sincerely the main-stream pro-obammma media would stick to reporting news and stop trying to tell us how to interpret the news. GO SARAH!

I have just finished her first book and am starting on her second book. Anyone who doubts her qualifications to lead has not taken the time to research her accomplishments. In my personal opinion Sarah Palin has much more experience in government leadership with positive accomplishments than Mr. Obama will ever have. And without dozens of mysterious czars bleeding or tax payers. Have a great day!
