FORT WORTH, Texas, Aug. 15 (UPI) — Rustlers struck a Fort Worth, Texas, ranch, making off with a horse trailer and an undetermined number of cows, their owner said.
On Saturday,Tommy Russell, 53, went to a leased pasture where he keeps 44 head of cattle and found the thieves had cut a gate lock and stolen his trailer and some cattle.
“Two trucks and a trailer came in, and two trucks and two trailers left,” Russell told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “You could see where they put up temporary fencing. I have no idea how many cows they got.”
Russell had gone to get his trailer to pick up a horse and cow he had bought at an auction.
“Somebody needed my horse trailer worse than I did,” he said.
Russell said the rustlers’ actions would catch up with them eventually.
“I can live with it; they’re going to have to meet their maker someday.”
