Ron Paul Supporters Decry Media Bias

Ron Paul Supporters Decry Media Bias

The mainstream political establishment and the media are terrified of Texas Congressman Ron Paul’s popularity among Americans who are frustrated about “business-as-usual” politics, the candidates’ supporters point out.

On ronpaulforums.com, posters put on display the mainstream media’s collective effort to discredit every victory that Paul enjoys. A series of screenshots from various news media sources reporting on last weekend’s Values Voter Straw Poll are posted on the forum, each of the stories indicate that Paul won by accident or trickery.

The Washington Post, FOX, CBS, POLITICO, The Atlantic, Business Insider, The Daily Beast, New York Magazine, Hot Air, MSNBC, The Associated Press, The Boston Globe, Forbes  and several more well-established news media outlets all implicate Paul as a kook, fringe candidate and poll cheat.

Jack Hunter, who writes the PAULITICAL TICKER, took note of the media’s penchant for ignoring Paul:

“I’ve often joked that when Ron Paul gets to the White House, the media will declare the presidency irrelevant and focus on how Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and other establishment candidates represent the future of the Republican Party.”

Sam Rolley

Staff writer Sam Rolley began a career in journalism working for a small town newspaper while seeking a B.A. in English. After learning about many of the biases present in most modern newsrooms, Rolley became determined to find a position in journalism that would allow him to combat the unsavory image that the news industry has gained. He is dedicated to seeking the truth and exposing the lies disseminated by the mainstream media at the behest of their corporate masters, special interest groups and information gatekeepers.

    Ron Paul 2012 or BU$T !!

    • Average Joe

      I second that and add:
Ron Paul / Andrew Napolitano 2012!

      http://www.voteronpaul.com/newsDetail.php?Andrew-Napolitano-Ron-Paul-s-VP-Prospect-3471

      • Christine

I would love a Ron Paul/Andrew Napolitano ticket, but we need to save Napolitano for the Supreme Court. I’ve been trying to figure out who would make a good running mate.

Because many people don’t trust him on defense (but the military does), a constitutional General would make a could running mate. Does anyone out there know of such a person?

I would vote for a Ron Paul/Thomas Sowell ticket, but I doubt Thomas Sowell is interested.

        • http://? Kerry Good

Florida Congressman Allen West(black Army captain who fought in Afghanistan)would be a great VP with Ron Paul.

          • DaveH

Allan West, another military statist. Just what we need. NOT.
Remember, Ron may not make it to the end of his term. All we need is an Establishment Republican taking over.

        • william

Gary Johnson. These gentlemen are cut from the same cloth. Look him up. He’ would compliment Dr. Paul’s Campaign.

          • Hemi1

Ron Paul / Herman Cain ticket.

          • DaveH

Herman Cain is an establishment Republican, Hemi1. He pushes the usual Republican intrusions into peoples’ private lives, and militarism. In fact, if you look at his issues page, he thinks we need MORE security. What did Ben Franklin say? Those who would trade freedom for security won’t get either?
            http://www.hermancain.com/the-issues

          • http://deleted Claire

DaveH–Cain will be the same old song and dance. I still do not trust the guy.

        • Average Joe

“but we need to save Napolitano for the Supreme Court.”

As of now, I don’t believe there are any Supreme Court vacancies….and who knows when one will become available?….Put the judge in the place he needs to be…next to Ron Paul in the Oval Office.

        • DaveH

          How about Gary Johnson, Christine?

      • Average Joe

I only posted what Ron Paul himself said…in his own words, from his own mouth. I tend to believe if that’s what he said…that will be his choice. Besides, I would rather have the Judge as VP…in case anything “happens” to Ron Paul, he is the only “like minded” individual that I would trust to fill Ron Paul’s shoes (other than his own son).
I would hate to see a repeat of the Kennedy/ Johnson ticket…after Kennedy was assasinated, Johnson did a 180 in policy….you guys and gals do remember “The Great Society” and the escalation in Viet Nam…right?…Thank Johnson (sarcasm) for both of those.

        • DaveH

I would think I’d died and gone to heaven (I know, I’m an atheist) if we got a Ron Paul/Judge Napolitano ticket.

  • Freemind

The best way to render the mainstream media ineffectual is for intelligent people to ignore them. The rest of the population doesn’t read and their viewing choices don’t go beyond sports or un’reality’ shows.
Instead of blaming mainstream media, blame your ignorant neighbors; they are being served up exactly what they deserve.

    • Patriot II

Freemind, have you knocked on your neigbors door and told him he is an idiot for believing what the Liberal Media says?

Both are to to Blame, BUT it is easier to EXPOSE the Liberal Media.

I agree with you….. My question is how do we educate our neighbors to “suddenly” (time is running out)realize that the Liberal Biased Media is doing this?

      • Don Wood

I’ll tell you how to wake up your neighbor because it works every time: Ask them what they’re major concern is concerning America and our government today. LISTEN TO THEM AND DO NOT INTERRUPT. When they’re done, ask them, “And besides that . . . is there anything else?” NOW they will probably really disclose their greatest concern. If you have just listened, and if you understand Ron Paul’s platform (http://ronpaul2012.com) you will probably win them over.

The MMMMM (Mainscream Media Madness/Menace) has loaded their lip and brain to conclude their SLANT on the “news” the way they want “Americans” to speak it. You will be utterly shocked at what people think they believe, and what they think they have come to understand on their own. They do not know they have been brainwashed even though we have caught the MMMMM with their pants down and collective hands in the cookie jar. Let them come to this conclusion on their own as telling them is to slander their intelligence.

GENTLY lead your next door neighbor(s) or a coffee held at your house into the realization using THEIR concerns that they wanted to talk about (not what WE want to talk about) that (1) Our Constitution and the Liberty it provided us is one flush short of being swallowed down into that eternal black hole. That jobs are the least of our concern and that if we lose our Liberty there will be NO jobs for any good pay! (2) That Dr. Ron Paul is personally opposed to same sex marriage, pornography, recreational drug use but is opposed to the federal government usurping powers in these areas that were never delegated them (Art. 1, Sec. 8 US Const.) and Amendment Ten. Give this power back to the People or the States. (3) Ron Paul is a known quantity. We know exactly how he will vote on the next bill in Congress because he has never changed in 32+ years. He’s the champion of the Constitution and has never violated his oath to office! (4) He will not raise taxes, in fact, he wants to stop all the socialistic hand outs and eliminate the IRS which will be a hundred years old in 2013. We did splendidly without it and the FED until just a hundred years ago. (4) He will bring our soldiers home and stop nation building all over the world. (5) He will keep us from being the world’s policeman which is causing the world to hate us and it’s costing us too much money we don’t even have. (6) Finally, (and there are many more), he will END the FED which is the engine of inflation/deflation. Win their support one at a time because this is the way to teach them that a vote for anyone else is a vote for compromise and more of the same. Get them to swear allegiance to the flag and the REPUBLIC (Democracy – NOT) for which it stands.

        • Patriot II

Hi Don, some real good ideas- thanks

BTW I like your ["MMMMM (Mainscream Media Madness/Menace)]

Most people are incapable or in a state of denial regarding leftist media bias. It’s like trying to convert African-Americans to Libertarianism – won’t play in Maryland because they’re brainwashed by the liberal media.

  • malcolm

he’s the only one who can set this country back on track. the rest are the same old s..t. when are we going to stop the political bs and wake up.

  • edward baptiste

I am amazed that Ron Paul has been unable to list his views on a lot of uneccessary unconstitutional government. I’m all for RP but he has’nt broken out. He needs an hour conversation with the press alone on NBC,CNBC, Fox, ABC.

    • Don Wood

Well, Ron Paul doesn’t receive any money from the big corporations. WE the People are his supporters. So, how much have you given and how many of your next door neighbors have you had in for coffee to discuss it with them? See my post above for the technique. The primaries are only days away from now!

    • Raymond Agnew

WE need Revolution PAC to buy to time like Perot did & go directly to the People.

  • J.Moore

I visit many sites to keep up on current affairs. And read many comments to get a feel for the articles impact…

Well, at least we can say the debate is alive…

Users that actually come up with names of sentiment, like nochicagopoliticians and the sort. Are clearly propogating and trying to steer the discussion away from the article topics and into misinformation and candidate swaying… Toward Establishment Idealist

Keep an eye on this trend. Massive idiocy accompanies their articulations. One this morning claimed Ron Paul was a rino and had only garnished 1/2 – 1% of the votes historically… Ridiculous huh?

So don’t be surprised if you see replies periodically by me (used to be JAFO but others use variations that are obvious plants) merely responding with “Paid For By The ” so and so “Campaign”…

It’s clear that organized, paid groups are working overtime, hand-in-glove with the media to conceal Dr.Paul… And normally I would not mind, being so early in the Primary season… But Primaries have moved up in schedule and this concealment is being accompanied by propoganda…

Call them where you see them ! If it’s not the whole Truth, then it’s not Truth at all ! We Need an Honest and Constitutional Leadership !

  • Douglas Littell

We have to be Dr. Paul’s Voice since the establishment media fails to honor our Freedom of the Press. Share the message everywhere to all who we interest in Dr. Paul’s message!

  • Commonsense

Ron Paul is the only candidate!!! It’s like having 7 people say they’re mechanics, but six out of the seven talk about how to fix the broken machine but all they do is play with the hood ornament. Dr. Paul actually lifts the hood and starts throwing out all the bad parts and getting rid of all needles junk so the machine can not only run again but run better than it has for 120 years. I have high hopes for him in the 2012 election!

    • Christin

      Commonsense,

Very good analogy or parable about Ron Paul.

I believe Constitutional Conservative Dr. Ron Paul is the one who will give We The People the Most Freedom of any candidate as he is siding with the Constitution and its Freedoms, Liberties and Rights granted by God.

I went to ronpaulforums.com and saw all the biased articles against him… even FOX news has Ron Paul off of center when they put up a photo of all the Republican candidates running for 2012… when he is the leader and winner of most straw polls and favored by the people.

Looks like the media is favoring Herman Cain now that they know Conservatives DO NOT want RINO Romneycare, nor do they want “give financial breaks to illegal non-citizens” Sanctuary State Perry.

Now we need to teach the people that Cain is tied to the FED.

      • Average Joe

“even FOX news has Ron Paul off of center when they put up a photo of all the Republican candidates running for 2012″

This is something that I have been saying for years. If Ron Paul is NOT running for office, FOX loves Ron Paul….but if he IS running for office, it’s Ron… who?
During the Last election cycle, FOX decried Ron Paul as being everything…except human, but as soon as the election was over, suddenly Mr. Paul was a God to them….he foresaw everything that was about to happen to the nations economic system and he could do no wrong. He was on their shows daily (sometimes two or three times a day). Well here we are again…Ron Paul is running…..Ron who?
I did the smart thing….I had my Cable TV shut off…now I don’t have to listen to any of the media schills and their 15 second soundbites…that they try to pass off as News….

        http://www.thenewamerican.com/opinion/jack-kerwick/9097-the-case-against-ron-paul-is-defeated

Ron Paul / Andrew Napolitano 2012!!!!!

I think it may be time to boycot Fox News and watch their ratings drop until they learn to say Ron Paul

Another great article on the subject:

Media Working to Tell Us Who We Want for President.

        http://godfatherpolitics.com/1413/media-working-to-tell-us-who-we-want-for-president/

  • Patriot II

Reality here. From my Point of View, It doesn’t matter much that Ron Paul is right, the sad facts are he’s not Charismatic. Sadly that matters alot in this superficial day and age. He’s not as Handsom as Perry or Romney.

Personally I don’t see what is wrong with Hermain Cain. I would like to see a Cain/Paul Ticket.

    • Don Wood

How charismatic are you? Listen, it’s OUR government not Ron Paul’s. We have to speak for him, and actually, we should! How many of your next door neighbors have you invited in for coffee as I have posted all the points about above? Let’s do it!

      • Patriot II

Don, I’m not Charismatic at all, how else did you think I know he’s not lol! I t is wrong thinking, I was merely pointing that out as a problem in our country. :)

    • Average Joe

“Personally I don’t see what is wrong with Hermain Cain. I would like to see a Cain/Paul Ticket.”

Do you rember the Kennedy /Johnson ticket? Kennedy was trying to restore the nation (to some extent) by returning us to thgold and sivler standard (excutive order 11110) in June of 1963 in response to congress removing Silver Certificates from circulation. Kennedy was assasinated and Johnson took the nation in the ooposite direction with the ” Great Society”…more of the FDR type socialism, while also escalating hostilities in the Republic Viet Nam…something that Kennedy was in the process of trying to withdraw from.
I think a Paul / Cain ticket would most likely set us up for the same type od scenario, putting into place another friend of the military industrial complex, the Federal Reserve system and corporate cronyism. Herman Cain?…no thanks…not in this life.

I would like to see for once 2 Veterans running. Ron Paul for President and Florida Congressman Allen West for VP. Read up on Allen West and you will see what I mean(Army Captain, fought in Afghanistan, fights for his men. Got his soldiers that were captured by the enemy freed after one of their guys was captured during same battle. He took matters into his own hands without hurting this guy that wouldn’t speak to our guys questioned him, West walks in and asked where are my men the muslim still would not talk, West pulled out his pistol, shot between muslims legs and said the next one will not miss, the muslim took him to his men that were captured and freed them. West got fired for this instead of getting a medal and left the Army!)Now he is a congressman from Florida a true American hero.

  • Don Wood

Initially, I posted this as a reply to a reply. Now I’ll post it as a comment to the article because (excuse me), but I think it’s THE most important thing we can be doing:

I’ll tell you how to wake up your neighbor because it works every time: Ask them what they’re major concern is concerning America and our government today. LISTEN TO THEM AND DO NOT INTERRUPT. Don, I agree with you completely. To those who aren’t “charismatic” or “outgoing” enough to start the conversation(s) with friends, neighbors, etc. at least be sure to get to your local precinct caucus and voice your well-reasoned support for Ron Paul. We do have the power to change history very soon if we refuse to give up or give in. Ron Paul is the finest choice this country could possibly make right now to turn ourselves back to a Constitutional Republic like the Founders intended!

  • Elizabeth Bordelon

Don you are absolutely correct. I have tried to reason with my neighbors (I find that if they are only connected to TV (they believe Fox News – huh) but have done no research other than what they are being told by main stream media. I have offered to show them anything they want to know about on the internet to educate them. These folks are more of a majority than we might believe and they are the ones that need help with the facts. I am working tirelessly to educate anyone that I can and I have contributed to his campaign because he needs our support and we want the gangsters out of campaign contributions! We can all make a difference, if we continue on and not let it wear us down. We are all soldiers and our weapons are keyboards and voices. Onward!

    • DaveH

If he doesn’t get the Republican nomination we should encourage him to run independent or to run on the Libertarian ticket (push that milk-toast Bob Barr aside).

Lastnight’s Charlie Rose TV show had a bunch of newscasters that were discussing the round-table debate by the candidates. They concentrated mostly on Rick Perry versus Mitt Romney, and in the entire hour, not one even mentioned Ron Paul’s name.

  • 45caliber

There is a definate MSM bias. They don’t want Paul to have a chance of getting in. They want either Romney or Perry to run against Oblama since they are certain Oblama can beat either of them. And if he can’t, they will at least carry on his good(?) works since they listen and obey the same masters. Paul won’t.

It’s amazing how ingenious the oligarchy are in cotrolling all aspects of society. Most people never know the magnitude of manipulation that steers them whatever way the oligarchy wish. Thankfully, I have been awaken to these facts for a few months. It is exciting to find so many others that are also aware of the deceptions. Hopefully, we will be able to awaken others before its too late to restore the Republic. RonPaul2012

What better endowment… if the media is bad talking Dr.Ron Paul that means he is doing what’s right and they do not like anything right unless they say so. The media is afraid they may loose their control. We see how well their backing of Obama has worked out… They seem to be afraid to speak his name because people will stop listening to the same old same old and start listen to someone with an agenda not the same as the media but for the good of the U.S.A.

  • http://none RPaul or same ol’

Don Wood…Thank you for your ideas. I very much needed some different talking points why Ron Paul is the obvious choice. The MMMMM folks were wearing me down. C’mon folks, don’t give in. That’s just like a political party with it’s own agenda.. Even attack their own kind for THEIR profit. Sounds kinda ‘set-up’ if you ask me.. Most of the people I know say, “In with Ron Paul” but the Reps are saying, “Not on OUR shift!! “.. Now what does that sound like to you..?

    • DaveH

The Republican party was founded on Crony Capitalism (called Mercantilism back then) in 1854. They’ve been practicing it ever since. Now of course the Democrats do also.
Ron Paul is for Free Markets. The Politically Connected Big Businesses abhor Free Markets.

  • http://www.r3voluti0n.com/ Jason

When Ron Paul is elected President of the United States, they will still not mention his name. ;-)

  • James

I think the media establishment is terrified that Ron Paul might win the nomination. Thus they focus on his looks and demeanor, rather than his words of wisdom. If memory serves James Madison was a five foot four average looking runt, who would vote for him today?

  • http://deleted Claire

DaveH–Again, the MSM is not giving Ron Paul any coverage.

    • s c

Claire, America’s whore media claims to be objective and has the luxury of dreaming up reasons for ignoring Ron Paul or anyone who represents a threat to their utopian schemes. Media strumpets have friends, and some ‘friends’ aren’t above controlling who gets access to the media (so much for ethics and objectivity).
If you will recall, the last time a Texan (other than a Bush) planned to get into the W H it involved a little guy named Ross Perot. In Perot’s case, I think he was ‘persuaded’ not to run. The way Perot got into the race (backed out, and then got back into the race), either Perot wasn’t motivated to run or somebody ‘convinced’ him to be elsewhere.
Intimidation can be a factor in politics. This time, if it’s just the media showing America how infantile/retarded they can be, then Paul has a chance. Even if Paul has to settle for ‘second place’ [VP], he’ll still be in a position to help America compensate for the curse we’re enduring now.

  • Glen Xx

If you want to send the media a message complain to the sponsors.

Where I live, a lot of talk shows badmouth Ron Paul; funny they all

Have sponsors like Goldline. Cos that sell Gold will take a major

Hit once Paul is elected. Stop buying gold and silver from them
    and complain to the stations.

  • Bill wright

So how many of those that have written opinions on this web site will vote if Ron Paul doesn’t get the rep .ticket?More chances than not,he wouldn’t make it.So who would you vote for if that actually happens?Cain,Romney,Perry?????If Ron Paul Chose to run as a Ind. I would not waste my vote on him.But i’m sure the hell not going to vote DEmo.People were nuts last elections, maybe this time we will get things right.Ron Paul is starting to look very good(in my opinion)But so did Jimmy carter.
